My 3 year old $600 GE micro caught on fire with nothing it. I set the timer on my top of the line GE microwave for a reminder. Nothing in the micro, cooking nothing! When I came back it was on fire! Melted the inside. If I would not of been there it would of burnt my house down! The only way to shut it off and put out the fire was to turn off the power to it. The next day as soon as I turned the power on my GE microwave started on fire again!!! This must be happing to many people and needs to be addressed by GE! This company needs to be held accountable for burning houses down!

Worst experience ever. Bought the dishwasher in Jan 2014. The washer does not wash. Three different technicians have passed by, cant fix the machine. Awful customer service, routine answers, file not assigned, cant talk to a manager.

Our microwave caught fire today and burned our kitchen, stove top, & attic. According to the Fire Captain, the cause of the fire was the GE microwave panel shorting out. Had my mom not been standing right there as it happened, our entire house would have surely been a loss.

I own a GE counter-top sensor microwave oven model #JES1451, which was only 2 years old. At 3:00AM, I woke to a room full of smoke and a burning plastic smell. I immediately rushed to the source which was my microwave oven. It was going by itself and the panel read sensor error with smoke billowing out of it and flames erupting. Luckily, I had a fire extinguisher handy. I had never had any problems with this microwave prior to this experience. I cringe at the thought of what could have happened to my home and my family sleeping upstairs if I hadnt been nearby.

My microwave also began peeling under the glass within a few years after we purchased it. I contacted GE and they claimed they never heard of that type of complaint before and there was no recall. I knew it could not be just my appliance that was doing this. It is peeling A LOT under the turning dish, but unfortunately I cant afford to buy another oven/micro appliance now. When I can IT WILL NOT BE A GE!!!

This washer was easy to install myself, and has worked perfectly. Stainless steel insides. Very happy. You put a pod in, turn it on, cleans great. We do not even have to use heating element. Dishes dry quickly on their own. 24-inch wide. Bought to fit the new kitchen cabinets. Nice brushed stainless outside. Cleans easy with towel and hot water. Silverware container picks up to take to storage areas. No problems at all.

We purchased this dishwasher for our rental. The last dishwasher was over 30 years old and still working but the racks were coming apart so we opted for a new one from Home Depot. A year later our tenants called saying when they used the dishwasher it rained in the basement. Our maintenance man called and said the dishwasher melted a hole in the right side about 1.5 inches by a 1/4 inch. Midway to the heater element. He did a temp fix with silicone.I called GE Recall number and was told it was not on a recall list. I called customer service and was told they would waive the service call. I explained this was a FIRE HAZARD. They insisted all they could do is send their tech out for repair. Since I paid about 280 dollars for the dishwasher I decide a service call would probably run near that and told them NO! I am now sending all information to consumer affairs department with my STATE REPRESENTATIVE. I also am putting the fire hazard info out there on facebook and twitter. I am waiting for someone else to say they also had a fire hazard. This should be on a recall list!

I have to agree with other post about the customer service. Our dishwasher is only 15 months old. First call went fine after that everything is with email. Tried calling several times to get correct parts shipped after only getting one of three needed, I called and finally after 45 minutes an agent answered. After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. Now waiting for a new assessment of what the issue might be and hopefully will be able to get the parts without issue.

Very heavy to mount above a stove, not enough watts. The model I have is 900 watts, too many options for cooking different foods, not many parts are available to make a repair on any of the GE microwaves, I would not recommend purchasing a GE.

My GE dishwasher is just OK, I would say. It saves water and money. It is fairly efficient to load and pretty effective at washing on normal but many times I need to hand wash the big or hardened food off the dishes before loading, which feels like more work than should be necessary. Id rather not wash my dishes twice.

I moved in to a newly-built home in Nov. 2010. Shortly after, my GE Profile microwave seemingly caught fire. We called for service and were offered a repair free of charge. We declined a repair and did receive a brand new appliance of the same model. Around June 2012, the exact same fire happened to the new one. I must admit that it took me about 9 months to report the problem because my family had been devastated with a lengthy illness and passing of my mother. While going through our trial, I shut down my mothers apartment and just started to use her countertop microwave. Realizing that I needed to address the problem with my microwave, I called and explained this to GE service. I guess that the representative was just doing her job and stated the year warranty spiel and had no concern of this being my second microwave within a two and a half year span and also the length of time that it had not been working. I was immediately given the cost for a serviceman to come out plus I was told that I would have to pay for any parts. When I went to Home Depot to price the microwave; the cost for my model was $278. I therefore decided. Why bother to have a defected model repaired? Who needs the aggravation? I will just eat my loss and buy another microwave. Be assured that it will not be a GE. I will never again buy a General Electric product.

A few years ago, I purchased a brand new GE microwave oven. A week ago the microwave oven stopped working. I contacted an Appliance Repair company for repair. When the tech came & disassembled the microwave oven, he discovered pliers inside the oven. We took pictures of it (BTW, it wasnt the cause of the problem). I contacted GE to alert them of this & they told me that the robots that assembled the microwave oven probably dropped it in there. Then they said they will send a tech to my residence to investigate. I told them that the pliers was removed & the microwave oven is fixed & assembled. Nonetheless they sent a tech anyway. I told the tech what his Customer Service said & he said he wasnt surprised about the tool being inside an appliance from GE & GEs response. In summary, I would not recommend purchasing any GE products. They proved their products are a safety hazard & they dont care about the consumer nor their safety. All they care about is taking your $$$.

This is a very nice brand of microwaves. Has easy touch from 30 sec to 10 mins. Meaning you touch start for the 30 sec and press 1 for one min - just hit start after. The only bad thing is the plastic coating over the buttons is starting to rip. Not a big deal just doesn’t look as nice.

Called out GE service tech to diagnose my dishwasher which was not draining after the wash cycle ended. Was told it was the control board and it would be best to buy a new dishwasher. Purchased a control board online (was a GE original part for a lot less than the GE price) but it did not solve the problem. After researching the problem online, I found out that it could be the drain valve. Sure enough, bought one for $14, installed it myself and the dishwasher works like new. Called GE Service to try and get a refund for the service visit ($89), was told that I had 30 days to have the tech come back out at no charge. Tech never advised me of this policy and GE will not refund my money.

It popped and acted as if something that should not be microwave several times, although the contents were fine. Finally it caught on fire. I had it for a year and used it mainly to warm up my coffee. Never popped popcorn or used in meal. I will not buy GE again. I work too hard for my money.

We bought this GE Dishwasher through JC Penney with a 3 yr extended warranty in Dec 2017 thank goodness. I am on my 3 round of having the mother board and the heater replaced since I got this machine. This last tech came as a 2nd opinion for my claim that this machine has not worked more than it works. All we would do is load the machine, go to turn it on and out it goes. The warranty people sent out a GE Tech who ordered a new board and fuser kit and came to put it in. Same issue, he said it was my hard wiring and I should have a electrician look at it. 200.00 later not the hard wiring. It is a pin hole in the heater coil that this last tech found. New heater now on order. My faith that this will fix the problem is waning. After this my warranty will be up and I will Never buy a GE appliance again. Not worth the money.

This is one hell of a dish washing machine. You really need to think about getting in on this thing at the ground level. You put the dishes in dirty and they come clean! Holy**!

Microwave is a 2001 and works just fine. There are a couple of things that could be better and that’s the exhaust and the lighting outside of microwave. Possibly could be more energy efficient but are bigger models built that way?

Our General Electric Dishwasher does a very good job of cleaning and drying our dishes. It does these jobs very quickly and quietly. We have had it for about 5 years without any problems or repairs. I would recommend our dishwasher the General Electric Profile for home use. Several of our friends and neighbors recommended this dishwasher when we bought it.

We purchased a GE microwave/convection oven which developed peeling on the inside top of the microwave. GE contacted me and offered a replacement ($300 toward a shelf model or prorate the microwave/oven). Why would we take $300 replacement when we paid nearly $3000 for this oven???? So we took the prorated one directly from GE. We felt confident that we would not have a repeat of the problem. The oven was manufactured in December 2012. After it was delivered, I noticed a rough area on the turntable; and after the oven began to peel AGAIN on the second oven, I believe that the rough area was due to a remanufactured part on the oven.Now we are stuck with another microwave/convection oven combo with the same issues as the first oven. I never used anything harsh to clean the oven and now this happens again. Why cannot this company manufacture an oven that will not have defects in it??? I am tired of peeling paint on a second oven when I have done nothing except pay them for 2 ovens. Why cannot they use stainless steel interiors, and this would stop the many complaints that people make about the product. I would NEVER again purchase another product from this company. The products I have purchased have been inferior. I paid for two microwave/convection ovens and still have one that is inferior!!!!

The door handle broke on GE Advantium microwave. My complaint is that the plastic handle costs $103.00 just for the part. That is ridiculous! The unit is 6 years old so I dont expect it to be free. I just dont understand how they can justify that much.

I bought a GE microwave in June 2011. Paint started peeling off the inside top soon after purchase. Now, all the paint is gone and GE doesnt care and Walmart wont replace it. So today, I bought a Panasonic. Maybe it will last. Its fifty dollars cheaper, too.

I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

I purchased new home with new GE appliances. The dishwasher from day one has been a problem. It constantly leaves water droplets inside on top, sides and door of dishwasher as well as all plastics are covered in water after even using heated drying selection. I was told after 2 visits by GE repair that it functions as designed. We have water softener, use rinse agent and quality dishwashing detergent, and the water temperature is within acceptable range.

In late March, we placed a service call under GEs one year warranty. The outcome - a gasket repair. Within a week or two, the door began to drip from both the right/left bottom. With having three teens, I figured someone opened the door and released some water. Well, that just wasnt the cause. Shortly over the next few days, the leak was consistent and I placed a service call to GE on 4/19. The customer representative offered, instead of a service call, to order some panels that fit it the bottom of the dishwasher. I stated clearly that our one year warranty was up on 4/25 and if this does not work, would GE address the issue with a service call? Answer was yes. Within a few weeks, I began to worry when I did not receive the panels. A call to GE was made; however, no documentation was noted of the call made on 4/19. However, GE stated the information might be in parts department, but regardless now, that call was made after one year warranty, extended warranty would fix the issue. Long story short, the extended warranty states problem initiated under GE and GE states the extended warranty is responsible because the call was made outside the one year warranty. I expressed that GE never fulfilled responsibility as GE did not even notify us that panels were not available for our unit. In the meantime, I am the one out of a working dishwasher. Now I know $539 may not be a lot to invest, but we feel the loss. The frustration and lack of responsibility to correct the repair is just beyond me. GE is responsible. Oh and did I share that lack of communication with GE is horrible? A promised call within 12-24 hours just doesnt happen. Again, I know most would say its not worth the frustration, but it makes me sad that GE and Assurant Warranty company can get away with what I know is wrong. Weve learned from this ordeal. No more GE products in our household.

Not even a year after purchase of new cafe series dishwasher, stainless lining rusting. Service called, GE tech agrees rusting of lining, GE warranty says not under warranty. Ive replaced screws that show signs of rust with aftermarket stainless screws. Cafe oven has had three front knobs just fall off - two were repaired under warranty and had to purchase extended warranty on third because it was more cost effective. Cafe Refrigerator had drain plate in back of unit completely rust away, tech knew what problem was before he stepped foot in my kitchen, he told us this was common. He caulked some sensor inside fridge box during service, I asked why, his response was its a design flaw and unit will operate better with this modification. Oh and redesign the ice dispenser, its tilted towards the back of the freezer and the ice is dispensed out the front.

Bought brand new GE Profile DW PDT845SSJSS as part of four appliance package to be installed as part of kitchen renovation. Bought in April 2018, renovation delayed until August 2018, install of appliances October 2018, installer by contractor plumber- excellent seasoned experienced installer. Never used DW until moving things into new kitchen. Washed dishes off in DW before placing in cabinets. After 3rd cycle- DW stopped working stating leak detected - contact GE. Are you kidding me? Brand new appliance! We had original installer come out- no leak- no visible water- we went to placed we purchased DW from - local place - Ray’s Appliances- asked for replacement DW. Was told we would have to pay for installation of 2nd DW at 225 charge. Are you kidding me? GE guy came out and did something to DW to fix it but said problem could return... Serious??? Well -DW worked for a few cycles- now displays leak detected again! Called GE and coming out 12/2. Ridiculous- I want a NEW DW with free installation! I’m paying @971 bucks for something that didn’t work from the outset!!!

My microwave is 2 years old and stopped working on Thanksgiving Day. Customer service was very responsive to send out a repair person. There was a minimum $108 charge plus and time spent. It turned out to be a loose wire inside the machine and I was charged another $50 for him to tighten it. Machines should go longer than 2 years without a service call and I will buy the extended on any other GE I purchase.

Installed by builder of home. Mid level SS model, very quiet. Does not dry dishes completely. LED lights on control panel remain on indicating cycle even when finished.

Microwave oven 2008 - The food doesnt go around anymore. The glass insert does not turn. What can I do?

Nothing but trouble with dishwasher. GE service is a disaster. Design flaw that is forcing me to purchase another dishwasher. Dozens of call to and from service have not yielded any results. Finally a contracted repair person made it to repair dishwasher and told me it would fail again because of the design. Avoid GE appliances at all costs.

A year after I got my GE dishwasher at Home Depot, it warped, protruded into room out of counter. GE tech fastened it into cabinet, agreed warped, said call co. Cust. Serv. Rude, said should have called while in warranty. Offered tiny discount to buy another for $400. Its worse each day.

I had nothing but problems since day 1. The dishwasher has never cleaned dishes properly. We have to pre-scrub. The soap dispenser does not operate properly. The keypad stopped working after only 2 years.

Dishwasher works fine; however, do not like the interior which is all plastic. It comes with several tray holders which I found awkward to use. I wish it took less time and water to get the dishes done.

I purchased this Spacemaker Microwave Oven (HVM1540LP1CS) from Home Depot in Aug. 2010 along with a GE electric range (JB400SPSS). I wanted the appliances to match and they look very nice in our kitchen. Four days ago the microwave stopped working, that is, it comes on and appears to be working but does not heat the food placed in it. After looking on the internet, I found that other consumers have had the same problem and it appears the megatron is the culprit. The microwave was manufactured in March 2010 in Malaysia so it was not an older model that has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere.The cost to repair the microwave will be about $125 which is about half of what I paid for it. I will not repair this microwave just to have it fail in 20 months, General Electric should be ashamed of themselves for selling foreign-made products that do not last more than 2 years. My only hope is that the electric range we purchased does not follow the same course as the microwave, consumers should be aware of these problems before they purchase General Electric products.

Almost 2 years ago and right from the start this dishwasher did not clean. Numerous times they had people come out and supposedly fixed it. Ive had different suggestions as to what to do. 1. Turn on the hot water tap and make sure its hot. 2. Use various different cleaning solutions on top of the dishwasher soap. 3. Use loose detergent.4. Throw at the bottom of the washer.One of the arms keeps falling down. And the last time I was told I could return it and get a deal on a better machine. I am now left with hand washing every item that goes into it unless I want gritty glasses, dishes and silverware. I bought this at Home Depot. I will never buy any products such as this from them nor will I ever buy another GE product.

We bought a new $700+ Stainless Steel dishwasher 10 months ago. It has failed on several occasions, and we have been without a fix or replacement for months. We are forced to have 5 service calls, none of which have fixed it. We have been hand washing for a family of 6 for months now, and GE Consumer Relations is totally unwilling to replace it, but rather continue sending out the same service tech with no new parts or ability to correct the problem. It is the definition of insanity while we are left holding the bag. Totally unwilling to do the right thing and it is maddening to say the least. 3 months of back and forth about our need to have it replaced, and their answer is send another service person who are now 0-5. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had in any situation for anything.

I purchased a GE microwave from Best Buy about a year ago. Every time I wipe it clean, white paint chips come off the inside. This cannot be safe for me or my children. I did contact the company and they were of no help at all. They said that because I heat up liquids in the microwave, this will happen. Duh! I would not recommend purchasing a GE product of any kind (oven, fridge, etc). Their customer service is awful and their products do not last.

Bought a new home. GE appliances came with our purchase so it was not our choice. Dishwasher leaked and ruined our wall. Service would not bring us a new dishwasher, they wanted to repair a brand new dishwasher that has multiple problems and damaged our new home. The service guy was such an ASS! Im in my late 30s and this guy was in his 50s and he was acting like one of the mean girls. The dirty looks he gave me! Wow. He said he fixed it, and Im actually running it now. We will see what happens. What junk! I know its going to leak again when we put the new wall in. Especially after reading these reviews!

I have microwaved many types of food in mine! Remember, it’s not just for reheating leftovers! I have cooked fish, and chicken successfully. Those turned out juicy and tender. I follow directions from a microwave cookbook. It’s easy and clean up is a snap.

I have an above range GE Microwave - it is not even 2 years old and it is done. I noticed the past few months it was not heating properly - it needed more time. This week it just blew out! NO more GE Microwaves. I have a refrigerator and I am wondering how long that will last. Thank you!

We have an under the cabinet microwave oven. I like the size of it and it works well. It is white so it gets dirty from cooking on the stove. It has a light on it for 2 different lighting needs. It has a brighter one and one for night time also. The buttons are really easy to use. Not hard to program it at all.

Our microwave is spacious, simple to use and dependable. This is about the fifth microwave I have had. The others only lasted about 6 months. My current microwave is about 5 years old, despite the fact that some of my previous ones were also GE.

First impression was good but then went use it and found the basket was shallow. This was not a cheap one and was very quiet when running but multi loads have to be run. Overall the looks are good and the mechanics all are holding up fine. The smaller inside is the killer for me.

GE GDF520PGDWW 24 white, full console dishwasher - Energy Star. I have had this dishwasher model since December 2014 and it has not drained consistently since the beginning either during the wash cycle or rinse cycle. GE has sent three different repair companies to replace the pump, the control panel, and ultimately the entire dishwasher, yet even the new dishwasher still does not drain consistently. Sometimes it drains and sometimes it doesnt. The GE-certified repairman was again here this morning and is again ordering a new pump. Counting the original pump, the previously replaced pump and the pump in the new unit, this would be the fourth pump. I tried to suggest the problem may not be the pump, but the repairman could not think of another possible issue. I do not recommend purchasing this dishwasher.

Ive had my microwave for 12 years. Ive never had any problems with the microwave since its purchase and very pleased. I dont plan on replacing until the microwave would stop operating or not pleasing in the kitchen.

Purchase a GE microwave Jes1142sp2ss on December 2014 from BrandsMart. The paint on the bottom of the microwave is peeling off exposing the metal. I have never ever heard of this happening on a microwave. I will never buy another GE product.

We have had our GE microwave for at least five years. We have moved multiple times and had the power go off but through it all, our GE microwave works just as good today as it did when we first bought.

I purchased this product in June 2011 for a summer weekend getaway home. I used it 5 times during that summer. The following summer I didnt use it at all. Summer 2013, I used it and everything seemed fine. That night I heard something and the microwave turned on by itself! Thank goodness I was at the house. I cannot believe this unit has not been recalled yet, as I see other consumers are complaining about the same thing. I keep the unit unplugged all the time. What recourse do I have as a consumer? I have my bill of sale and paid good money for this unit.

It could clean better without pre-cleaning. Its necessary to pre-clean heavily dirty items. Works ok if dishes are just moderately dirty. Could also be quite a bit quieter. However it is about 15 years old and still running but sometimes motor freezes up if not run often.

Purchased my first GE dishwasher 3 -4 years ago, it died, one month before the warranty ran out, they sent a repairman at no charge, acted like he did not know what he was doing, mumbled something about a part and left saying they would return with a part 2 weeks later he comes back and says that they cannot fix it and they sent me a replacement dishwasher free of charge, 13 months later and it died, So I bought a more expensive GE dishwasher thinking it would last, wrong, 15 months later and its dead, went to parts select and troubleshooted it, ordered all parts recommended to fix the issue and its still dead, these parts cost me 300, so I contacted GE to see what they had to say, no help at all except to only charge me for 50% of parts, I have to pay for house call and labor and installation, gee what a deal NOT bottom line, GE dishwashers are junk, dont buy them.

I have a microwave that has a rack inside which gives you options other than using the rotating plate inside. Overall it works quite well. I did not purchase this microwave, it came with the apartment. Not sure if I would purchase this brand if I were to buy it for my own home.

I am writing this more as an educational notice for consumers of the G.E./Rheem gas water heaters to aid in uninterrupted service and understanding of the water heater. Installation locations: If you have installed your unit outside, all though in the owner’s manual, it states that G.E./Rheem says to never install the unit outside. People that live in warm climates do have their unit installed as such, but in a metal enclosure, of which to the city codes are fine, but again not by the G.E./Rheem standards. So being as this is accepted by city codes, people do and will continue to install water heater outside in enclosures.

My life partner/bf moved into a semi flipped 10 yr old home. Every single appliance required to be replaced, everything from refrigerator, stove/oven, to dishwasher. We researched every appliance we purchased, a lot of time and effort along with reviews from various reputable reviewers, pointed us to the GE GDT DISHWASHER. Who can go wrong with three tier washing amongst jetted water bottle washers?After a 1 1/2 yrs in the top spinner completely separated from its housing. We googled the problem, GE said it was a faulty design, yet no recall. The door lock began to fail, googled the repair fix, another fault design, yet again no recall. Upper plastic door trim broke in half, solution, replace the entire console. Guess what? My solution here on out is to not buy GE products. If two years is all you get with a GE product, I am out! Done with your products that once lasted 10 to 15 years. The fact that have to research another DISHWASHER, absolutely pisses me off. I dare you GE to win me back!

I love my GE dishwasher with sanitizing. It works great at cleaning, drying and sanitizing my dishes and it’s really quiet. I love the stainless steel. I forget it’s on at times because it’s so quiet. Happy with it.

I rarely use it. I know to avoid too close to the signals produced in the microwave and use it only about once a month.

Seems to be a lot of wasted space in this GE dishwasher. If it had a 3rd rack then I would rate it higher. The back has additional sprayers, but the sides do NOT. I would think that having sprayers all the way around would help with sanitation.

I am a licensed master plumber. I do a fair share of high end kitchen installs, I noticed that in the last 5 years that all GE dishwashers I installed had a whole lot of extra parts to be installed by the installer. For example. Today I uncrated and tried to roll a GE dishwasher I got 6 and a drip tray fell out. Then when I went to install the dishwasher in the cabinet I had to install 4 different rubber flanges. When I went to push the dishwasher in the flanges came loose and hindered the install. The the insulation jacket kept binding up. The last 10 of these GE dishwashers I have installed the dishwasher appears to be racked or not square. I had to tell the General Contractor that I dont want to install the GE dishwashers any more. Way too much trouble. I have much better luck and ease of installation with Miele and Bosch. The GE dishwasher are very frustrated to install. Bob Licensed Master Plumber since 1982Richmond VA

I purchased a GE Cafe Over-the-Range Microwave along with a GE Range. It was delivered on Nov 2009. The control panel started acting up and quit working altogether in May 2011. I called GE and found that the replacement part and repair was almost as much as I paid for the microwave. After talking to several people and making my case, I was told they would give me a discount on replacing my unit. I was to look at microwaves and let them know which one I wanted. I have left several messages and no one at GE will return a call.

A small black piece of plastic, which snapped into the back of the microwave handle has bent/shrunk, and popped off. My microwave is just a little over one year old. I called the GE 1-800 phone number for parts, and GE does not offer a replacement part for this, without buying a whole new replacement handle, which costs over $160.00.

GE Profile Advantium 120 when cooking on stove under microwave, the fan in the microwave goes on and does not go off for 30 minutes. This happens with only one burner on and stove not microwave set at 320. Had service out told there was nothing he could do. Called GE and again told that there was nothing they could do.

Installed 07/06/2015 While I was asleep on 12/09/18 the oven appeared to start microwaving an empty oven on its own. When I came down 5 hours later the microwave had no power. I opened door and turntable had melted and glass had exploded. The ring under it was burnt and melted in one location. Top of cabinet on right side was hot. Then the internal circuit breaker restored itself and started some recovery process making odd noises sounded like the magnetron was trying to run since the top was getting hotter, after a minute the internal circuit breaker shut it down again. I then unplugged it. It appeared the magnetron started heating on its own and turntable did not rotate. All of the heat was concentrated at 12:00 edge of glass turntable. It also burnt the metal floor under that spot.

GE Dishwasher Model GLD7400R10BB - Remodeled my kitchen about 2 1/2 years ago and replaced all my appliances with GE appliances. I noticed that every now and then my dishwasher wasnt starting or running through a full cycle. I had called the GE repairman because my microwave was not heating up and asked him to take a look at my dishwasher as well. After hearing it was going to cost me $500.00 to fix my still under warranty microwave and the control board was no good and very expensive to replace because my one year warranty had past on my dishwasher, I will never invest in the money hog GE ever again! WARNING... DO NOT BUY GE!

My dishwasher is doing the same thing as the recalled models. The GE Cafe model is not included in the recall. The dishwasher front, which is stainless steel, becomes so hot it burns to the touch and stays that way for hours. Burning smell in the kitchen! Cafe models need to be added to the recall!

We purchased this microwave in 2016. It worked fine for a few months then one day we go to use it and it would not start. It took pushing the start button 5 times for it to work and the express cook did not work. Then 2018 came and it was November 2018 and the microwave started to short out and started smoking. So we bought a new Panasonic microwave and so far so good. Would not tell anyone to buy a GE brand item ever again.

I have a GE Profile dishwasher that is only 1 1/2 years old and the control panel has stopped working 2 times. The first time, it’s under warranty and it repair took place for a couple of minutes. The second time, it’s not under warranty and they want to charge $89 just for the service call, parts and labor. Crazy. That’s a $1000-plus appliance that has already broken two times. I cant run the dishwasher on any setting except the one that it decides to choose for us. Yes, it changes whenever it feels like it. This was one of their higher end dishwashers and, to be honest, it really doesnt clean any better than a lower end one that I had at a previous home.

We have had the dishwasher for 4 years, and the dishwasher went out twice, the refrigerator also went out a few times. They just dont make stuff like they used to. To make matters worse it sounds like the fridge is getting louder and louder and I dont want to call the to call the techs back out.

Purchased my GE microwave roughly 2 years ago. Recently it started running with the door OPENED. I cannot get it to stop even when pressing the cancel button. This happened whether or not there was time remaining on the clock. I was very concerned about the microwave rays being harmful to my children. We unplugged it overnight, it worked for literally 2 minutes and then it would not even turn on. Model number HVM1540SN2SS. Pretty upset that I have to buy a new microwave already!! I was going to replace it with another GE microwave to match my other appliances, but after reading so many posts of other GE microwaves running with the door open I think I will slowly work GE appliances out of my kitchen.

The dishwasher is poor quality. Top is thin, top dish rack has trouble with tall glasses. Bottom rack doesnt slide in and out well. The power cord and water cords are too short. They are 2 ft shorter than our previous model dishwasher. Top was loose when delivered and had the wrong screw in one of the holes. The hose and cords are difficult to hook up because they are so short. We cant fit as many dishes in as our previous model of the same size and the unbiased reviewers are saying its washing quality is poor. We havent had it long and hate it. Home Depot wont take returns on portable dishwashers though. Out lots of money on this. This GE is thin plastic trash that costs lots of money with no return.

I recently purchased an Adora dishwasher from Home Depot. The price was enough to suggest that it should be a good dishwasher, but its the worst dishwasher Ive ever owned. It does not clean dishes and it takes two hours to do it.

Of course, I rinse my dishes, but Ive had few incidences of dishes coming out dirty. Hot start, start (long wash), short wash, rinse only and plate warmer. The interior is set up well with a good variety of spaces. I would say its a normal-sized household dishwasher, not compact, with approximately a 24 width, 24 depth and height. White with gray lettering; four buttons and one dial. Simple design that is easy to understand and operate. The run-time of this dishwasher is quite long, and it is very loud.

Since 2010, our 2006 GE 1.1 cu. ft. countertop microwave oven model # JES1136WL has had power failure problems. It began in our previous home and now in our next home. All of a sudden, Id check the panel and it would say PF, which means power failure. So, Id reset the clock and there it is, ready for the next usage. Over a year later, in our new home, as of yesterday, it will start and immediately cut off. Now, weve been using this microwave in the same plug since May and now its October. So, what happened? Today, Im looking for the users manual and have located it online. But it appears that the PDF GE has for it, the Adobe document, has a problem. So, Im going to check it on my laptop, as this is my PC. Thank God we only paid under $100 for it. On some of these consumer complaint stories, the person paid a great deal for theirs.

Dishwasher works great, I just wish it was a little bigger. I usually have to work hard to get everything I have to wash into one load. But if I could give it a 4.75, I would, because dishes are spotless when I remove them.

Bought model DDT575SMFES less than a month ago (along with a new microwave, stove and fridge) from the Home Depot. When the appliances were delivered the stove had some flaws in it so it had to be replaced. The dishwasher is a whole other story. It worked fine for a week but now it takes forever to get it to turn on. We try and try but it just beeps and the light flashes. Once we do get it turned on to stops before completing the cycle. If it does run a full cycle the soap dispenser does not dispense the soap. I wish I would have looked at this site before purchasing these GE appliances. Total junk and will NEVER buy anything GE again if I can help it. No responses back from GE and from what I read dont expect much from them. Now we will not be able to match the Slate with another brand and are stuck here.

We renovated our kitchen with all new GE Profile appliances in 2017 before moving into our new house in 2018. Nov 1, 2018 our GE Profile stopped working and showed a leak message. We called GE who referred us to A&E Factory Service. The repairman arrived Nov 6 and proceeded to not be able to pulled the dishwasher out and tell me the list of things he wont do because of policy. Without inspecting the dishwasher but looking at his computer with the list of things that could be wrong, he said he ordered two parts and would return on Nov 23. Nov 23 came and no repairman. Calls were placed to GE Parts and Service who expressed their disappointment over the no show then proceeded to say that parts would not arrive before Nov 30 and that one of the parts was on back order. Once the parts came then another repair appt could be made. I will have been without a dishwasher for over a month with no alternative recourse. Service response and A&E Factory Service is less than poor.

My microwave on the inside paint start peeling off. I have this appliance 2 years, it has slowly been peeling since that time and now it has completely peeled and rusted on the inside. This WAS a gift. The outside looks great, the inside is so bad. The serial # is LT914637B model JES1451DN1BB manufactured in 2010, Made in Malaysia. Be Louisville ky 40225. Does the united States make anything except make us pay taxes. This is a piece of mess. The last 2 years my husband he suffered with LLC. Now I got to deal with this. Poor workmanship. Our GE microwave is 20 years old and still works great! Still looks pretty good too!! We do have a small crack and the start button is worn, however, we use it several times daily. Would definitely buy this brand again.

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. The new home that we purchased had the above named dishwasher (GDT655SSJSS). When I run the dishwasher there is a very high frequency whine throughout the cycle - the only time it stops is when it is changing cycles. I have contacted GE Customer service 3 times... The first time I was told to add a quart of water to the bottom of the dishwasher and that should fix the problem. Tried that - still high frequency whine. Second contact - no response. Third contact - today- called customer service after my negative appliance review was rejected by GE (buyer beware of all those positive reviews) and was told that this noise is normal. Totally Unacceptable - since the sound hurts my ears and causes a headache - I have to listen to 111 minutes of this noise (except when the washer pauses to change cycles). This is the very worst dishwasher I have ever owned and even though it is only 2 months old I will be replacing it - and it wont be a GE Dishwasher.

Have been trying to have repairs for new appliances less than year old since before May 20th. Have had cancelled appointments, service never showed, wrong parts etc. Went to consumer advocates for help, no help. Today my appointment was again cancelled and rescheduled to July 10th. About to have a stroke. Both ice makers dont work, yet I am not put ahead. Have to go back in line after GE cancels.Purchased microwave, double oven profile appliances, two dishwashers for which gasket fell off and dispenser for soap leaked, french door refrigerators, all stainless steel. I purchased a GE Microwave oven, model #JVM1540DP1BB and, in seven months, the interior paint started peeling. I contacted the company and they said, go ahead and use it. It wont hurt anything. (Well, actually, it doesnt heat as well now.) They offered me a discount on another GE Microwave. I advised them that the oven was manufactured three months prior to my purchase and so the Microwave was only ten months from birth to death - it was also made in Malaysia and so was purchased practically straight off the boat - and should have been covered under warranty. The response to that was, Im sorry. Im only authorized... Fine. Let me talk to your boss, I said.I was connected to another company mouthpiece who promised to send a serviceman out to look at it. The next week, said serviceman did come to the house. He told me they could take it in and ...see if they could fix it or they could give me a discount on another one. Again I iterated that the microwave should be replaced at no cost. He flat out told me, They wont do that.My next fiasco with this danger trap was several months later when it started turning on of its own accord. So, we had to keep the oven unplugged at all times unless actively in use. I again contacted GE and was again advised that they would be happy to offer me a discount on another... blah, blah, blah. After a couple of years of using this machine, I called GE one last time. I spoke to the regional vice-president, Gary **. The response this time was truly mind-boggling. They had no record of my having called previously!!! But, after telling them I felt their product was inherently defective by design and, not only would I never purchase another GE product EVER, I have emptied my house of any and all GE products right down to the light bulbs, have purged my mothers house, and advise everyone I know of my experience, recommending they, too, do not patronize GE.He began repeatedly screaming at me, What do you want me to do? I told him that, two or three years previous, I wanted them to replace a defective microwave. Now, and following their abhorrent customer service, I wouldnt want anything from them and, if they were to tell me the sky was blue and water was wet, I would not believe them. I was not inclined to pay six hundred dollars yearly for a new microwave oven, so there was nothing they had I would ever want. I then pointed out that I purchased a Sony microwave for my mother when my grandson was six years old. Hes twenty-four now and both the id and the oven are still going strong. Then HE hung up on ME! I have noticed others here who have had similar experience with GE Microwaves so my recommendation to anyone considering a new microwave oven is to steer clear of GE at all costs. I only gave them a one star rating because I couldnt give them a negative star rating.

Our GE microwave, manufactured in 2012, has been running fine, but the door handle has cracked on the bottom. Imagine my shock when I found the cheapest price for a PLASTIC handle was well over $100. How can this be?

I owned a previous GE dishwasher 4 years ago and would give it excellent ratings. I bought a newer top of the line version when I purchased a new home. It simply fails to clean dishes. Wet food that any dishwasher would remove, remained on the dishes. The drying cycle never dried the dishes. We have to hand wash the dishes now and have stopped using the dishwasher after 3 days of ownership because of health hazard. I called Lowes about this within days of the install. Lowes sent out the installer who claimed the machine was installed properly. Then Lowes scheduled a GE repairman to come to the home. We waited all day for him to arrive for a morning appointment. He never came. Lowes stepped up and is replacing the dishwasher with a non-GE product. I would not touch a GE product again given the lack of service and commitment to their product. I feel confident with Lowes, but not with GE - their ethics from engineering, manufacturing and servicing are very suspect with us.

I bought the GE microwave from a GE dealer. We were very impressed that it is also a convection oven. It bakes, microwaves and even toasts bread. The oven had not disappointed us any way. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a microwave.

The GE microwave model CJES1290Ml01 does not get used much, maybe 15 minutes per week. I have not even used convection oven or broiler part, so we could say very gently used. Sparks and grinding noise out of the magnetron tube area started recently and there is no metal in the microwave. It arcs like there is metal. There are not enough miles on this equipment to need replacement, but it is too expensive to fix. Im not happy with Walmart GE product. Did they cheap it up?

I have just purchased a new GE dishwasher because mine just broke after 35 long years of excellent service. I am so completely satisfied with your GE products, and I would like to tell you also that the double oven stoves are still working well.

To inform others that need an under-cabinet space-saving microwave, unless you are replacing an existing GE unit (and want the mounting brackets to align for easy re-installation), I would strongly suggest getting a different unit. I am about to buy my third GE undercounter microwave for the past 11 years. The rest of my kitchen is pretty high-end Thermadore, Kitchenaide, ASKO, and Braun. My last Profile PEM 31 DMBB lasted less than three years. The Toshiba that I bought while deployed to Okinawa lasted 15 years.

Just purchased a home with GE Appliances. Dishwasher suddenly wont start and showing 1H code. Nothing in the user manual that explains what this means. Called customer support. After they requested unnecessary personal information (like email address, physical address, etc.), I was finally able to ask what this code meant. She went straight to, We are unable to provide that information over the phone. We have to send one of our service technicians out to your home. She refused to tell me what the code meant, and instantly wanted to charge me for tech visit. I hung up. Then I googled it, and found out right away that it meant the start was paused/delayed for 1 hour. I had hit the delay button by mistake. This was not specified in the manual under Delay Start, nor was customer support trained or willing to provide the answer to such a simple question. GE Support is just a Scam.

We have an overhead microwave that fits nicely into the spot. The power level seems to have dropped off, but this is after more than 8 years with lots of daily usage.

I have had it with GE! Only 18 months after install, my beautiful, stainless, three-rack, GE, top-dollar dishwasher will not turn on. Repair attempts have been futile. Tech said not to expect more than seven years service out of new appliances. Were tossing this junk and buying CHEAP replacements going forward since all we have to choose from is throw away products. OEMs like GE should realize they are shooting themselves in the foot with their planned obsolescence business plan.

I have had this microwave WES1130 for several years now and the paint began peeling before year two. Nearly all of the paint is now gone (fallen into my food). Also, I bought this microwave to replace a larger GE microwave that had failed after only 3 years. The 8-year-old GE fridge is humming loudly and leaks onto my floor, which has ruined the wooden floor and warped it. I will never again buy a GE product, and neither should you. They do not care at all about quality.

After 22 months of use, the microwave stopped heating. Youll see the same problem all over the internet. Lights turn on, plate spins but no change at all in temperature. The repair call was estimated to cost more than the price of the microwave. Its almost like it was planned. Never buying a GE product again.

We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. The unit has failed miserably, and the company had failed us miserably. We are left with a pile of junk!

I purchased a microwave in Oct 2010. It went blank and nothing works. I checked to see if its receiving power. The power is okay. I purchased the microwave, fridge and stove at the same time. I always had confidence in GE products. Microwave should have lasted longer than less than 2 years. I didnt purchase extended warranty because of GEs reputation. Very dissatisfied customer.

Ordered a repair part for my GE Cafe series microwave because the touchpad failed. The person who took the order told me they had a No Hassle return policy. They shipped the part right away but I decided to replace the microwave instead. I am still waiting 3 weeks later for them to pick up the item via Fed Ex and credit my account. They told me I cannot drop it off at a Fed Ex office. This is ridiculous!

Purchased this item online and received delivery on 2/13/15 from P.C Richards. In less than a month after installation of the JVM7195SFSS microwave range oven the keypad stop working making it a useless tool taking space in my kitchen. Ive made more than 4 schedules for repair service. Its now May 15 Ive yet to see a repair person. Here are some of GEs lies for the past three months: GE parts were in back order; the service person claimed I wasnt home; I didnt pick up the phone. Even an appointment on my Sabbath was botched by the service person. While homebound recovering from surgery I called PC Richard who scheduled another service on 5/14/15 between 1-5pm. Still a no show. Yet PC Richards representative stated that the service person claimed that I wasnt home. The next morning 5/15/15 11:40am a service specialist named ** at ** extension ** calls stating the repairman is sick. Im confused! On what date was my repair? How do I get rid of this product installed in my kitchen wall? How do I get my money back? How do I make PC Richards and/or GE complete the repairs without losing a work day for foolishness or forsaking my Sabbath day again?

My dishwasher came with the home when we purchased it, and we did not see any good reason to replace it. It is a standard model, with a nice stainless steel interior. We have had no problems with it and plan to use it until it fails. I would like to have the upgrade model in a new home. This one does a good job washing the dishes.

We have a five-year old GE Profile Microwave that has an LCD panel. It is a nice feature, but it has become unresponsive to touch and now will cost us $500 to replace the LCD panel. We will just buy a KitchenAid instead. The LCD panel is not sealed, so when you cook, even using the exhaust fan, the moisture gets up in there and damages the panel. This is such a terrible design. We paid $600 for this microwave thinking it is a good quality appliance. Never buy GE! I was in Best Buy yesterday and told people who were there looking at microwaves. Terrible quality! We have to purchase a whole new microwave hood range now.

I purchased a dishwasher and it doesnt clean all the dishes. They sent out a repairman on 4 different occasions (one came out twice) and each one gave a different reason why they think it wasnt working right (what we are doing wrong). Each time, we followed their directions and the machine still doesnt clean. A decision was made that they will not replace the dishwasher, but would offer us an extended warranty. I explained that an extended warranty is useless to me if the machine isnt working correctly now.

I purchased a GE Dishwasher about two and a half years ago. Recently, we found there was a small leak in the solenoid motor which caused damage to my floor. I looked up for the model number and it is not on the recall list. Now, I have to call the repairman. This should have never happened in two years. What is GE going to do about this?
