Ive had this dishwasher for about 3 1/2 years now, and never have I been so dissatisfied with a product. I gave a review then, was contacted by a GE rep, followed their guidelines, even had a GE rep come out and review the problems. We changed our hot water temp, when we did dishes (not during clothes washing), checked to make sure the blades are not hindered, changed soap to Finish Gel (works best), added rinse aid. There is just not enough water to rinse off the dishes. Period. I do not add more heat/dry, and use Sanitize and Steam 99% of the time. What happens is the food sticks to the dishes and melds into them, causing permanent discoloration. This is no pot scrubber. It does no scrubbing! I have to wash my pots every time after I clean them in the dishwasher even if I pre-scrub them clean before washing! Sometimes the food from other dishes or the soap dumps onto the clean pot and makes it dirty! There should be a lawsuit against this company for this product. Its horrible! BUYER BEWARE! This rating should really be a 0 (zero)! Sorry I am not submitting proof of purchase from that time. We remodeled our kitchen in 2012.

GLDT696 series dishwasher - I have put up with my GE appliances and their problems for years, but now I will throw in the towel. Our Contractor appliances were replaced 5 years ago when remodeling the kitchen. Ten years of no problems with cheap stuff replaced with Stainless Steel GE ovens, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. I will only mention the dishwasher in this posting. Bottom line... Wish I went with another manufacturer. The washer has a gasket that loves to fall out of place creating leaks or floods. The pump has failed after the one year warranty. The control board has been replaced twice and today it looks like there will be a third one. That is if I am stupid enough to hold on to this piece of junk. If I buy another manufacturers steel front dishwasher it will not match the other appliances. At this point I dont care. Unlikely to ever buy a GE appliance again.

We have a five-year old GE Profile Microwave that has an LCD panel. It is a nice feature, but it has become unresponsive to touch and now will cost us $500 to replace the LCD panel. We will just buy a KitchenAid instead. The LCD panel is not sealed, so when you cook, even using the exhaust fan, the moisture gets up in there and damages the panel. This is such a terrible design. We paid $600 for this microwave thinking it is a good quality appliance. Never buy GE! I was in Best Buy yesterday and told people who were there looking at microwaves. Terrible quality! We have to purchase a whole new microwave hood range now.

The paint started peeling on the inside ceiling area of the microwave the end of the first year we bought it. I called GE and they claimed this was not harmful to the operation of the microwave. It was disgusting to have paint chips falling onto food we were cooking. Now almost all the paint is gone and there is some rust too. How can this be for cooking and what if some of the paint is accidentally ingested? If GE did not replace or offer to repair the problem. Stay away from GE microwaves is my advice.

In late March, we placed a service call under GEs one year warranty. The outcome - a gasket repair. Within a week or two, the door began to drip from both the right/left bottom. With having three teens, I figured someone opened the door and released some water. Well, that just wasnt the cause. Shortly over the next few days, the leak was consistent and I placed a service call to GE on 4/19. The customer representative offered, instead of a service call, to order some panels that fit it the bottom of the dishwasher. I stated clearly that our one year warranty was up on 4/25 and if this does not work, would GE address the issue with a service call? Answer was yes. Within a few weeks, I began to worry when I did not receive the panels. A call to GE was made; however, no documentation was noted of the call made on 4/19. However, GE stated the information might be in parts department, but regardless now, that call was made after one year warranty, extended warranty would fix the issue. Long story short, the extended warranty states problem initiated under GE and GE states the extended warranty is responsible because the call was made outside the one year warranty. I expressed that GE never fulfilled responsibility as GE did not even notify us that panels were not available for our unit. In the meantime, I am the one out of a working dishwasher. Now I know $539 may not be a lot to invest, but we feel the loss. The frustration and lack of responsibility to correct the repair is just beyond me. GE is responsible. Oh and did I share that lack of communication with GE is horrible? A promised call within 12-24 hours just doesnt happen. Again, I know most would say its not worth the frustration, but it makes me sad that GE and Assurant Warranty company can get away with what I know is wrong. Weve learned from this ordeal. No more GE products in our household.

About a year and a half ago, I bought a GE Profile dishwasher from a very reputable local dealer. Within 3 months, the digital control panel failed. Because it was still under warranty, the dealer replaced the panel. It failed again. This time they made other adjustments, it continued to fail. Finally GE suggested that the dealer replace the entire door panel, which they did. It took the repairman a couple of hours to do so. Still didnt work. Finally GE declared the machine non repairable and replaced it. Unfortunately the men who replaced the dishwasher didnt install quite correctly because it leaks. I keep a plastic container under the front left corner to collect the water every time the dishwasher runs. But the story doesnt end there. This machine and the first one both include a sensor that apparently check for objects that obstruct the spray arms. I dont know because theres nothing that tells me why the machine is beeping when I attempt to start it. I check the spray arms, move dishes, try to start it again and still get the beeper. I have done this over and over and over again and still it beeps. I have essentially emptied the dishwasher and it still beeps. When it does run, I have to use the boost temp. option and the longest cycle available to get dishes, and I mean dishes, even passably clean. Forget pots and pans, or casseroles. So, if you own a GE dishwasher, I hope that you have the old fashioned dishpan and dryer rack handy. Bottom line, it doesnt clean well, leaks, and beeps every single time I try to start it. Buy something else.

I purchased this GE Profile dishwasher last June, I paid $1,499.00 for it and have had three (3) service calls. The first one said the water is not hot enough, the second one said run the water in sink and get hot before you use the dishwasher. The tech was here again this morning and called in to tech services and was told put plates on the right side of the rack only and the dishes will get clean. Are they kidding me? I called the 800 number for customer service and was told by Dominic (rep in customer service) that they would replace the dishwasher and allow me a 40% discount on a new one because this one is working as designed. It is my understanding that the dishwasher should wash dishes, so that tells me it is not working as designed. I want a new dishwasher, preferably one that washes the dishes and not one that I have to pay an additional 60%. Are you kidding me? This is not right. I have read the reviews on this dishwasher and it seems everyone who purchased the dishwasher I have are having the same problems and it is not working as designed. Please let me know asap when the replacement dishwasher will be delivered. I will not pay an additional 60% for another. It is not right that you would keep making excuses until warranty runs out. I notified you of this problem one month after I purchased it and I have lived with this problem for almost one year and now you tell me that you will give me a discount on a new one. I have already paid for a new dishwasher and that is what I expect in return. Thank you. I expect to hear from you soon.

Our dishwasher has gotten very warm mid-cycle and now trips the breaker in the house each time we run the cycle. The problem became evident in April 2012. We have called in a GE repair person to fix it and they said it was a heating issue and not repairable. We have not used it since, but have not replaced it with a new one yet. In August, we read about the recall of a similar model number manufactured within same time frame. Our machine model is PDW7300J03WW, the recalled model is PDW7. Our machines serial # is **. Strangely, the serial number is not listed in the recall, even though symptoms are exactly the same!We have called GE Consumer Affairs at 1-800-386-1215 four times, the most recent today, 9/14/2012. Each time we call, we are left on hold for 59 minutes only to be disconnected automatically! I am sending a registered letter to GE CA with a copy of this link and intend to contact my local news if I do not receive sufficient response within the week. Does GE need to see an actual fire report from my fire department or worse in order to get their attention to replace the unit? It is disgraceful and extremely dangerous.

We purchased the GE Cafe series appliances back in mid-2016 (dishwasher, dual oven gas range and microwave). Over that time period we have had at least 10 repair claims. The dishwasher front door and seal have been replaced three times, has ruined my wood floors and baseboards. The gas range has had multiple issues, including broken lights, broken fan, and a manufacturers defect in the lower oven igniter which took our reseller and third-party warranty company three weeks to repair. The microwave oven had a plastic cover just break off one day - wasnt touched before - it just cracked off!Fortunately we purchased the units through Home Depot and purchased their extended warranty program. Unfortunately the warranty company doesnt replace units and wont include claims during the manufacturers 1-year warranty period in their lemon law policy. Ive repeatedly tried getting touch with the manufacturer, but they appear to be staying high-and-dry away from consumer grievances.GE doesnt stand behind their products. I dont think their resellers give a rip either. My advice - stay away from GE. If youre in the market for something Id look at LG. I have a refrigerator, washer and dryer from LG and have had zero issues in nearly 10 years of service. I have no idea if their reliability covers dishwashers, but Id certainly take a look.

I purchased a newly built home which had all GE appliances in the kitchen. After 2 years and 5 months, the microwave no longer heats the food. I had a 3rd party appliance repairman come to do a diagnostic evaluation. He informed me that the magnetron has gone bad. To have this repaired would be the same price as purchasing a new microwave. He also informed me that the magnetron should never go bad in such a short amount of time. I contact GE and my warranty was for 2 year so the best they can offer is a $75 good will certificate. What this means is I have to purchase a new microwave and send in proof of purchase and in 4-8 week, GE will send me a $75 rebate check.I am disappointed in the GE product. Their products are now made in Asia (my microwave says made in Malaysia) for cheap labor and the quality has gone down. What is worse is that they do not stand by their product. The fact that something as serious as the magnetron went out in less than 3 years is a red flag that it was not assembled correctly. The microwave is listed at over $500. I would have been happy with GE even paying half but $75 will not even cover the cost for shipping and installation. I am very disappointed.

I may be speaking too soon because I need to run my dishwasher again to make sure the minor leak truly has been fixed, but I am very impressed with the responsiveness of GE customer support. There was virtually no wait to talk to a rep about my 2-month-old dishwasher with a drip (plus water was collecting inside). Less than twenty four hours after my call, a friendly man was at my door to fully diagnose and then correct the issue. This was the cheapest, bottom-of-the line model that they so quickly came to service! Now in an ideal world, a new dishwasher wouldnt need any servicing at all, but I think all dishwashers are pretty finicky so at the moment, Im pleased.

I purchased a new GE washing machine, and a new GE dishwasher, less than 5 years ago. The washing machine started leaking suddenly, and the repairman stated it was due to a cracked basket. They stated this was very rare, but the warranty had expired. The repairs would cost as much as a new machine. The dishwasher stopped draining water. A repairman advised there were two pumps, and one or both may be out. Estimates to repair the unit were only slightly less than the cost of a new unit.I will never again purchase GE appliances. I believe the life of a home appliance should be longer than 5 years. The cheap units I bought in my younger years lasted 20 years, without any problems. The GE units are not quality machines, and repair costs are outrageous. Nice way to try and convince appliance owners to just go buy new units. I can guarantee, I will not buy GE products ever again.

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. I had broken dishwashers sitting in my living room for a month. Easter was quite embarrassing with an appliance next to the table to say the least. DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES!!!

I purchased a GE over-the-range microwave in 2008. After 3 years, the magnetron went out and the microwave stopped heating. I called GE repair, and they told me it would cost over $300 to fix - close to the cost of a new microwave. Stupidly, I bought another GE microwave in August 2011, model JVM1750DP1BB. In the one year Ive had it, it has broken 4 times. One time, it was the magnetron (seems like a common problem). Another time it was the motherboard. Another time, it was a bad wiring problem. Each time, I called the GE repair service, and it takes 1-2 weeks to get an appointment. Twice, they cancelled my appointment on the day because they overbooked. Given that I had to take time off work for the appointments, this is a huge inconvenience. I have been waiting over this last time for an appointment, after they again cancelled my scheduled appointment. GE makes a terrible product, and their repair service is a joke. Microwave Oven-Space Saver Model JVM6172DF1WW - This is the same problem that is well documented across the web regarding this POOR General Electric product. I purchased the microwave about 14 months ago and the keypad abruptly stopped working. After checking the electrical circuits from the main box to the device, I determined that the problem is not due to the electrical connection. GE appliance division has been in a poor state for a long time now. The company manufactures this product outside of the U.S., in this case Malaysia, and obviously has a poor quality assurance - quality control plan in place. Couple the production issues with poor customer service and you have a huge, well respected company that is putting out shoddy work.I will be trying to get someone to take responsibility for this problem within General Electric but recognize that any success in that respect is a long shot. My message to other consumers is succinct and to the point - DO NOT purchase this product with your hard earned dollars. Go with another brand with a company that stands behind its products and wants to keep the customer coming back for more. GENERAL ELECTRIC is not one of those companies.

My GE Profile Dishwasher is a plain Jane without the bells and whistles, yet is a trusted, working appliance. Honestly, the only beef I have with this model is that plastic articles do not dry completely unless placing the controls on Heated Dry, and leaving the dishes in the dishwasher for the entire drying cycle. I have had my kids place some dishes in the dishwasher, caked in day old food. I left the plates in the dishwasher, hoping to teach my kids a lesson about rinsing off their dishes before placing them in. Imagine my surprise when after running the dishwasher through its normal cycle, the plates came out spotlessly clean! Impressive!

Absolutely silent! Several features and cycles such as crystal, normal, pots and pans and drying options such as air dry or heat dry. Standard size dishwasher. The key is in the loader. Stainless steel with no handle or anything plastic. Flush. Stainless interior as well. It did have a food disposal but to avoid smells since we start the dishwasher only twice a week, we rinsed off our dishes. Another important element we learned from the previous dishwasher is to use the heat dry if you want your load to be dry with as little puddles of water as possible.

We have not had any issues with our microwave. It is relatively easy to operate (how difficult can it be, right?). Overall, we are pleased with our microwave. The microwave was already installed when we purchased our home, so I cannot speak to whether or not it is worth the price.

One day after the new GE dishwasher was installed, I came home to find water raining down into my basement. My kitchen floor was destroyed. The installers came out a week later to look at it. They determined it was a faulty unit. They ordered another one. I started an insurance claim with GE. They sent a technician to look at it. 2 1/2 weeks after it was installed, the technician showed up. Surprise, it was leaking anymore (The water had been shut off for 2 weeks). Several days later the replacement unit arrived and was installed. Two days later, this one started dripping. I called to have it removed. The installation crew was scheduled to come back on Saturday to remove the dishwasher and get it out of my house. On Thursday, this unit started pouring water out onto my floor. The occasional drip had become a steady stream of water. More than a month after buying this hunk of junk, it was finally removed. Ive ordered a different brand of dishwasher. Ive hired a contractor to come and replace my floor. GE denies any responsibility. I will be starting a lawsuit against them. I cant say enough horrible things about dealing with GE.

I purchased this dishwasher on April 2018 and from the beginning was not working well. I called a technician about 2 months ago, came with the computer and told me it is working fine, but my dishes are never well cleaned. Anyway on Nov 27, 2018 the water started coming out from my tiles and I didnt understand why? I kept drying and it kept dripping. I was so worried and called a handyman. He told me it is the dishwasher dripping water. All my cabinets, my tiles are wet inside. I have called and report it and today a technician was coming to repair it (which I will not accept.) I want a peace of mind. I need a new working dishwasher. Today, the technician was supposed to call me before arriving and I was 5 minutes away and left. Now, your customer service reps are telling me to wait till Tuesday. I am having guests and my house is a mess, I have the dishwasher in the middle of my kitchen, everything is stinking to humidity and all happens because of this BAD PRODUCT. I want this trash to be exchange as soon as possible.

GE Microwave Model JVM6175EF1ES - On July 26, 2014 purchased as a set stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. From the beginning I had problems with the microwave with the door had a bad connection and the microwave would shut off. On April 2015 the microwave started working without me starting it and I had look up and I saw sparks on the inside and I unplug it. GE replace it and now after 2 years I have the same problem just started and would not shut off and I unplug it. Both times I was lucky to be home. I would like GE to fix my microwave. I understand it has passed one year but, I think appliances should not break down after 2 years. I would like it fixed or replaced if possible. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

I have purchased a GE microwave/convection oven 7 months ago. A month ago, the control panel broke down and it would not turn on. I called up customer service and a technician was sent after a week. They have diagnosed it and the motherboard needed to be replaced. The said part was ordered and I was told it would be delivered in 2-3 days and a service will be scheduled in a week. A week came and no parts showed up. I have called up customer advocate and they assured me the said part will be delivered in time for the service appointment.Unfortunately, when they came, the said parts have not been delivered and I was given the lame excuse of systems failure; the request has not gone through their system. So the technician assured me that he will put in an overnight request for the said parts and the oven could be fixed within the week. He even gave me his work and cell number for me to call if I have any inquiries. But he never picks up or even returns my calls. So another service appointment was scheduled and parts were delivered, only to find out that it was the wrong parts, supposedly for another customer and for a different microwave model. Its really frustrating when people keep on reassuring that they are going to get it done, but has done nothing but lip service. Its been over a month and my microwave is still a broken microwave. I have learned my lesson and will never again in my life time purchase a GE appliance. PS: I should have listened to the Home Depot guy that sold me this microwave.

We upgraded our appliance package when we bought our village builder home 8 years ago. All GE Monogram appliances have rusted and now need replaced. New liners needed in oven which was so rusted we couldnt get the screws out to replace the originals. Was told by GE customer service rust to be expected when cooking. It creates steam and food particles can cause scratching!!! Maybe it should be steam proof especially a microwave. Even the door on this is rusted! Why the shelf ends in a freezer are rusted not sure on that one! Will NEVER buy this brand again and shame on them my upgraded appliances dont even make it to 10 yrs. A disgrace. My mother just replaced her 20 yr old oven. What is wrong that nowadays things dont last 5 minutes? Shame on you GE not recognizing a definite flaw in your products.

A few years ago, I purchased a brand new GE microwave oven. A week ago the microwave oven stopped working. I contacted an Appliance Repair company for repair. When the tech came & disassembled the microwave oven, he discovered pliers inside the oven. We took pictures of it (BTW, it wasnt the cause of the problem). I contacted GE to alert them of this & they told me that the robots that assembled the microwave oven probably dropped it in there. Then they said they will send a tech to my residence to investigate. I told them that the pliers was removed & the microwave oven is fixed & assembled. Nonetheless they sent a tech anyway. I told the tech what his Customer Service said & he said he wasnt surprised about the tool being inside an appliance from GE & GEs response. In summary, I would not recommend purchasing any GE products. They proved their products are a safety hazard & they dont care about the consumer nor their safety. All they care about is taking your $$$.

I never imagined that a microwave in my new home would be rendered useless after 2.5 years. Like many of you, my control panel stopped working and the floor of the oven was extremely hot to touch. Heres the weird part. You can hit the number for timed cook, but youd have to let it heat the entire time. If you open the door, you cannot restart it. You have to unplug it to reset. Of course, I called GE customer service, who gave me the same spiel about $80 service call, plus repair and parts. Thanks to your candid remarks, I will not be purchasing another GE appliance.

The GE microwave that was installed in our new home (2018) stopped working
The GE microwave that was installed in our new home (2018) stopped working in June 2020, after the nuclear reactor “blew up”. Which could have been a dangerous situation. I was told by Assurant Insurance Company that it was no longer covered by the 1 year insurance policy, and if I purchased a new policy for $241.00, they would repair it or replace it. After they discovered it was not repairable, they denied the ”replace it” part and reimbursed the money for the policy. GE agreed to sell me a new microwave at a discounted price, which I agreed to. The replacement microwave was delivered damaged, in October 2020. After many calls and waiting hours on hold, service came out and said it was “not repairable“. Again, phone calls to GE Customer Relations and reexplaining the problem, I was told they did not have a microwave in stock to replace it. However, after further searching, one was found, and would be delivered. On 10/23/20, I received a phone call from the freight company that the microwave was being delivered the following day, but they had the wrong address! it was a previous address. Where that address came from is a mystery as we never had GE appliances delivered to that address. The freight company was not authorized to change the address in the system, so another call to GE. I am still waiting for a new microwave! I can’t even begin to count the number of times I have called GE, waited on hold or call-back, waited for service, and been told I have the wrong case number. I have all new GE Profile appliances, all have had service for problems. I will NEVER buy another GE appliance. Their service department and Customer Relations department is disorganized and incompetent. GE appliance are not quality products.

My GE model JEB1095BB04 microwave/convection oven is 6 years old and the magnatron has failed twice. The first time, GE said they would replace the part free of charge, but I had to pay for the service call, which I did and it cost me $212.00. Now, the part has failed again, the second time in 2 years, and GE basically said you lose. A rep from GE told me that they only guarantee their products for 1 year. There is no doubt in my mind that all GE products are garbage and I would strongly discourage anyone from buying them. The relay went out on the microwave oven about six months after we got them. Their website for scheduling service is absolutely horrible and didn’t work multiple times and when I was finally able to schedule, it was two weeks out. I then called but was told I couldn’t get an earlier appointment. So we waited the two weeks, then they had to order the relay. GE waited until the part was delivered to us to schedule the return visit - over 2 1/2 weeks later! So at this point we are without our new microwave for over a month and a half. Moral of the story is never ever to tempted to buy from GE, LG appliances & cust service are great.

Soon after getting our new Cafe Microwave CVM2072SM3SS the control panel died. I called GE and power cycling got it going again. This is an over the stove microwave, so we were also told by GE not to use the right front burner without the fan on boost. The problem persisted from time to time and steadily got worse over our 5 years of ownership. Reading the internet this was a common problem known to GE but they took no action to contact owners. The panel is now dead and my only option, having tried the fixes on Youtube, is to invest money starting at $108 for an inspection or buy a new Microwave. My entire experience with this product has been a big disappointment as I also own a GE Cafe range, fridge, and dishwasher.

Of course, I rinse my dishes, but Ive had few incidences of dishes coming out dirty. Hot start, start (long wash), short wash, rinse only and plate warmer. The interior is set up well with a good variety of spaces. I would say its a normal-sized household dishwasher, not compact, with approximately a 24 width, 24 depth and height. White with gray lettering; four buttons and one dial. Simple design that is easy to understand and operate. The run-time of this dishwasher is quite long, and it is very loud.

This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. The GE site: https://appliances.monogram.com/us/specs/ZEB1227SLSS indicates in two places that the built-in trim kit is included (and one place where it is listed as additional), yet GE has confirmed that in fact, the trim kit is an optional add-on with a $325 additional cost. Calls to GEs consumer line have been disappointing. Me: Your website says its included, and is in a section with other features that are in fact included but not additional fees; GE: We have confirmed that the trim kit costs extra. We have, in fact, purchased the oven and are awaiting its installation, and I have other experience with GE Monogram appliances so I expect this to operate well. But I cannot understand their reluctance to acknowledge this error on their site. Potential buyers, please beware of this issue.

Dishwasher was fine for about 2 cycles when it started to leak again. As GE do not have a weekend service I had to take a second half day off work. Different technician said the gasket was not pushed in correctly and I should check it each time before running it. Shouldnt this be part of the design - a gasket that stays put?! Ran the dishwasher. Water all over the floor. The new floor that is getting ruined by this clearly faulty appliance.

I bought a dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago, along with GE fridge, microwave, convection oven for my remodeled kitchen. It was less than a year old, when the dishwasher control board went. GE fixed it for no charge, as it was under warranty. They sent the part, and the repairman was great. A little over a year later, the same thing happened. It is no longer under warranty. I spoke with a supervisor about this. This dishwasher was just over 2 years old, and again, the same thing happened. They were very nice, and sent a man over, after sending the same part in the mail, and again, he was very nice, and I was called to see if everything was to my satisfaction, and it was. I was not charged. It is now a few months later, and the machine will not begin the cycle. The lights are on, blink several times, then finally go off altogether. I did the troubleshooting suggestions, including turning it off via the circuit breaker to reboot, and still nothing. I am so angry. This is a relatively new machine. I am so disgusted that I will never buy another GE appliance, and strangely, I have stock in the company. Its a small amount, but stock nonetheless. What a shame. Now, I have to spend a lot of money on a repair that I should not have to. GE charges $90 just to walk in the door. I was told the second time it would be over $200 to repair a 2 year old machine. It is not the customer support nor repairmen that I am so angry about, rather, it is the ** machine, which is not even 3 years old! The thing is, I always try my best to buy American products, even cars. Before I call in a repairman, I am going dishwasher shopping, in case I decide that it is simply not worth an over $200 repair. I will not be looking at GE.

I work as a service tech for a major insurance company. I am a master tech, and master electrician. The company that I work for owns an apartment complex which is used to house company executives whose offices are located at other sites, but often come to the Chattanooga Site to work short term. I was called to repair an old dishwasher in one of the apartments. Upon looking at the existing dishwasher, I decided to replace with a new one. I received a new GE model GDF 510 PGD 1WW dishwasher on November 8, 2013. As usual I unpackaged the appliance and examined the exterior. Finding no visible damage, and with the help of a master plumber, I removed the old dishwasher, and installed the new one. After all the connections were made, I opened the door, removed all the packaging from the dishwasher, and found the upper spray arm lying in disarray in the bottom of the machine. Assuming that this was the way that the machine was packaged, I installed the spray arm, plugged the machine up and started the machine as the operations manual instructed. The machine would not work. The power lamp would burn solid for a few seconds and start flashing. I tried to start the machine a number of times while reading the instructions, and while my partner read the instructions aloud, but with no results. Finally, I used a screwdriver to hold the door switch closed, pressed the start button and the unit started. The catch mounted on the door would not make the door switch, mounted on the machine body. We tried to adjust the switch and the catch, but with no success. The dishwasher did not show any signs of exterior shipping damage, but for some reason the upper spray arm was off and lying in the bottom of the unit, I found a small piece of broken plastic and a screw in the bottom of the machine, and the door switch would not make. Outside that I have no complaints. I am not sure where this machine was assembled, but it certainly was not equal to the machine that we removed. Thanks GE for making my job harder. I will have to find another dishwasher Monday and replace the damaged one, and perhaps send this one back, but the replacement will certainly be another brand.

I have had my GE microwave for over 6 years and the paint is flaking off the inside of the microwave, causing a health and fire hazard. Paint chips in the food and bare metal exposed can cause arching which in turn can be a potential fire hazard. After researching online I have found that this is not a uncommon problem with GE microwaves. Some have had this issue after 1 year. I contacted GE and told them of the problem and that I felt this was a manufactures defect.GE does not feel that this is a defect problem but advised me not to use the microwave any longer. Their solution was to discard this microwave and purchase a new one. I paid almost $300.00 for the original one plus $20.00 for a mounting kit. I was told that GE would offer me a discount on a new one from $339.93 to $319.93 total. This is not much of a offer considering this should be a obvious manufacturers defect. Our GE Microwave Oven/Convection Oven Combo (Model: PT970SRSS) is a little over 2 years old. The interior paint on the ceiling of the microwave oven is chipping and bare metal is exposed. In addition, the microwaves glass turntable frequently slips off its plastic tripod base. Circular scratch marks, which also expose the underlying metal are evident in the area which is located directly below the glass turntable. The circular scratches are a direct result of the glass turntable scraping against the paint. The GE repairman said chipped paint is not repairable and that paint should not ever chip in a microwave, let alone a relatively new microwave. After many calls back and forth to the GE Consumer Relations person, we were offered a new combo at a discounted rate of approximately $1,000. (We paid around $2,000 originally.) I found out that the panel shorts when youre cooking under it, and steam/heat rises into the machine. Makes the panel short. Im now demanding that GE return $150 service fee that I paid before I found out that its a defective machine. And this machine has to be replaced with a model that allows cooking with vents on. If GE does not do the right thing, I will make it a life goal that no one buy their products. Mark my words. I said, Ask your repair person to verify that the tile was removed. The answer was they couldnt ask him. I sent the bill again with a note saying paid in cash, a picture of the floor and a picture of me - a 74-year-old woman with a note saying it was impossible for me to have ripped up the ceramic tile and backer board myself. Wow, Donna from NJ, I could have written your dishwasher report! But since I didnt, I have never been so disappointed in an appliance purchase as my new GE dishwasher! Not only are some of the dishes & silverware coming out more dirty than they went in, it takes a ridiculously long time for a cycle. And if there are more than a couple of tablespoons of water on the door, it will pee out onto the floor when the door is closed! Not to mention that there is junk stuck to the floor just inside dishwasher, under the door, after the cycle has run! Yet the worst part is how dirty dishes are after even a Sani Wash cycle! Sometimes, the detergent lid is still closed. Sometimes its open, but the detergent is still there. Even then, dishes may be cleaner in appearance that time, than when the detergent is gone. A water glass, may have gritty stuff - not just detergent stuck and hiding down inside, or more obvious all over inside the glass. I have spent the past year experimenting with various things: detergents, amounts of detergents, arrangements of dishes, heat of water, pressure of water, rinsing dishes before cycle, etc. Glass and pottery normally fare better than plastics, but again the plastic may have started cleaner than they come out! The dealer has been out three times, finding nothing obvious the DW itself, nor anything I have done wrong. He has been told there is a kit that would fix the performance problem, but he cant purchase it, nor can his distributor. I have been told the length of cycle is because our government regulates the amount of water used. So my question is, then its okay to use more electricity?! Its totally embarrassing to serve someone a drink in a glass that is found not clean near the end of the drink! And I, too, have an old 12-years-dishwasher that still works! It was even a cheaper brand. I never had to think where pieces were arranged in that dishwasher. I just thought, in my newly built house, I should have new appliances!

We purchased 3 GE Profile Appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. It turns out that they are junk. The microwave and the refrigerator have had to be repaired several times and the dishwasher went downhill very fast and we had to replace it as it was not cleaning the dishes correctly. We now are living with a microwave that has peeling paint that I hope is not damaging our health that they would not do anything about. And a refrigerator that was repaired today at the cost of almost $400 and it still is not cooling down. So now I have to wait 48 hours for another service call. Dont buy GE unless you want Junk!

We bought this dishwasher, with third rack and steel tub, after extensively reading reviews online. We went through Home Depot and had to wait a month for the dishwasher to be delivered. We have had it just over a month now and not only does it fail to get all of the dishes completely clean (even when run on heavy cycle) it NEVER dries even with the dry boost on. We never overload it or load it incorrectly and still there are dishes and utensils with food residue after its done running which takes hours. I predict it will rust out in about five years (planned obsolescence). The only feature Im happy with is that it is nearly silent. Not hearing it run helps to not remind me how much money we wasted.

We bought a suite of Slate GE appliances during kitchen remodel 2 years ago. Weve had the dishwasher, model GDT580SMF2ES, motor replaced twice now and it is still loud and stops intermittently. Thank goodness we have the extended warranty! The over stove microwave is now starting to run when we just shut the door and stops intermittently. Were ready to replace everything with a reliable brand and cut our losses. We will never buy GE again.

I had a problem with my GE Profile Dishwasher that I had for several years
I had a problem with my GE Profile Dishwasher that I had for several years and I had it on factory warranty. However, the last time they came to repair, they did not have parts available to fix anymore. So, they recommended new one. I worked with Consumer dept and made arrangements to replace with one they recommended at $500+. After several efforts to get it delivered, it was and we began using. It is not a Profile like my old one and it does not have the additional washing, rinsing and drying cycles as the Profile. It is a flat out bottom line washer. No, sani clean etc.. We have used the machine about 4 times and each time we have to rewash several of the dishes and especially the silverware. This is the most disgusting piece of equipment I have ever used. My home is loaded with GE products from years ago, mostly the Profile series and I have been delighted with the products and service. This machine is a disaster. I cannot believe that GE has this on the market or maybe this is a machine they use to satisfy customers who may threaten to use someone elses. It was not free, as I say it cost over $500. The stores and onlines advertise better machines on sale for less. I have GE stock which I will sell. They are going down on Quality. Consequences: Stuck with poor machine that does not do job that I paid good money for. Really, GE, get yourself together. Product Model:GDF510PSD1SS.

I purchased a GDF520PGJ dishwasher from Home Depot and it still doesnt work. Home Depot has no return policy and G.E. has been unable to resolve. I have written to GE Appliances Consumer Relations for a replacement but pending another service call. Its unfortunate that there is no recourse with Home Depot as was advised that I need to work with GE for the first year warranty yet my dishwasher hasnt worked for the past month. Buyer beware.

According to the label in my GE Sensor microwave oven, it was manufactured in October 2010. I dont know how long after that time I purchased it. The paint on the ceiling is falling off and what hasnt fallen off is bubbling up over the entire surface, exposing bare metal. There is also missing paint on the floor of the oven. I called GE today and was told by a representative that it is a fire hazard and I should stop using it. She said I must have used a harsh chemical, but I have used nothing but dish detergent and water on paper towels. There should be a recall of these ovens, and GE needs to improve the quality of the paint. The microwave is not that old, and this should not have happened!

I was missing my wiring/ schematic diagram with my dishwasher and after spending hours on GE website to no avail I called the service center and was told they would send me an email that I would have to respond to and then they would email me a diagram in 8-10 business days. Email in 8-10 business days... WHAT!!!! I replaced the UI board after 2 1/2 years and the control board Fault code LED was blinking 7 times for a temperature sensor circuit has become inoperable. This is their fix; Disconnect the power at the circuit breaker for about 30 seconds and then reset the dishwasher. If the problem persists, contact service. No instructions on how to reset the dishwasher anywhere. American business at its best. Never GE again!

I love the way the dishwasher is so quiet and cleans the dishes well. However, they are ALWAYS WET. A repairman came and told me that I could not expect the dishes to be dry on the light cycle with the POWER DRY. He told me I have to wash on the normal cycle. I did that and they are still wet. He came back out again and basically had no viable explanation. I have to have a dish towel in hand to dry the dishes as they come out of the dishwasher. So my concern is first why would it be coming off, is it a defect in the product or does it just happen? The person was helpful and seemed as if it was to be concerning. WELL IT IS to me. Could it make us sick, do I need to put it in the trash or what? Thanks for not helping me and not being concerned, but I am sure if it was you or family you would have had a different story to tell.

Less than three years ago, I purchased a microwave oven wall unit to replace an existing unit. Due to the size of the built-in cabinet, I was limited in choices. The cost of the unit was $2400. A few months ago, the interior wall of the unit began rusting and the enamel is peeling. I contacted the customer service dept via e-mail on their site. I was asked to send pictures and then informed that I should stop using the unit immediately due to the danger of arcing. I was also told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, the best that GE could offer me was a new unit for $800. I asked for names of warranty companies and was given one name and number but told there were others that also offered the same service. I called this company and they clearly told me that the peeling and chipping was a manufacturer’s defect and would not have been covered by an extended warranty had I purchased one from any company. Then I contacted the GE repair service center and spoke with them. The man who answered explained that this is a cosmetic problem and that there was no danger of the microwave arcing unless there was less food in the microwave than the size of the area that was chipping. I am very disappointed in the response of GE, the pressure placed on me to make a decision in 7 days or the offer would be withdrawn, and the fact that the service department and the consumer service (complaint) department gave me entirely different responses to the same information and problem. I will probably have my cabinet rebuilt to avoid having to replace this unit with another GE appliance. Who would pay $$1600 for the use of a microwave/oven unit for less than three years? Unfortunately, GE seems to be the only company that makes a unit that fits the existing cabinet in my kitchen. Disappointing to say the least.

If you have a choice, run away from GE like the plague, because if you have to make a warranty claim, it may become a nightmare. I purchased a new home May of 2015, and my wife and I paid for the appliance upgrade to the GE Profile, which werent cheap. Less than 2 months I noticed that the microwave had a burn spot on the bottom of the door where it sits against the exterior of the microwave, the paint was burnt from the metal, and the rubber seal melted. I did not think too much of it because the microwave still worked and unless you opened it you did not see it, so it wasnt so much of an eye sore. Fast forward to January 2016, my wife informed me that the microwave stopped heating, and that she was going to put a ticket in to New Home Warranty, I informed her that we probably need to go to GE directly as I knew that is what they were going to say. So I called GE and put in a Service ticket. They informed me that it was going to be a little over a week before anyone would be available to come look at it, to which I was OK with. The repair guy finally came. I explained to him in detail what the issues were. He opened the microwave, closed it back, wrote some things on his computer, and told me that he ordered a part called the magnetron tube, which sounded like something from the transformers. He told me it would be a week before the part would be ordered, so I asked him if it wouldnt be easier for them to just replace the microwave. He told me that it is a warranty repair and they have to try and fix it first and if not, then they will. The evening before the repair guy was supposed to show up to change the door and the magnetron tube, I got a voicemail stating that the part will not be received until the evening of the repair, so they rescheduled me for 2 days later. GE just assumed that I would be available, because I probably sit at home all day waiting for service repairs. I called back the number to see what was going on. I was adamant that they replace the microwave, because by this time it was already 3 weeks without a microwave. And with small kids in the house it was very annoying to have to put a pot on the stove every time you needed to heat anything. After 45 minutes, I was still nowhere with them, so I ended up sticking with their new appointment window. I was leaving for work 2 days later when I noticed the repair guy at another home in the community. I thought to myself why couldnt he have done our repair the same day if he were already going to be in the neighborhood? About 45 minutes later my wife called me and told me that the repair guy showed up to repair the unit, that they were supposed to repair a day later, only to be told that the damage on the door was caused by arching, and that it will happen again so the microwave is non-repairable, so they will have to replace it. He told my wife that she will be receiving a call from the warehouse within 24 hours to schedule the replacement once the microwave is available, but she could call the warranty repair department to see if they could expedite it. After another 25 minutes on the phone going back and forth we were told that it will be about 7-10 business days before the microwave may be available. Now it is good to note that the warehouse where they stock the product is only 2 hours away from where I live. So by the count of it by the time we receive a new microwave, it would have been about 5 to 6 weeks from the initial call to get the issue taken care of.

I like microwaves to a point. If my wife puts my dinner the refrigerator and I take it out and put it into the microwave if the dinner has let’s say pork chops, mashed potatoes, peas everything gets cooked except the mashed potatoes. They’re always cold and sometimes the peas will pop. There’s never a good medium for all foods at once and if you have any bread or biscuits you have to take it out after 15 seconds. The same goes with turkey cranberry stuffing and other things that go on the plate at Thanksgiving. Some stuff gets very hot. Some stuff stays cold.

I recently purchased a GD720SGF2WW Serial #HD744674B GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leak from the bottom of the door. I called for service and when they came the repair man said the door was leaking and there was a repair kit for it so it must be a weak spot in this particular dishwasher, which by the way was not a cheap model and was stainless steel lined. I waited a month for further service and when he finally came he realized he had mistakenly diagnosed the problem and it was a crack in the lining of the door which had gradually gotten bigger as I waited for service. So this NEW dishwasher had been leaking onto my newly installed hardwood floor. By this time I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher and said I wanted a replacement. I was called back and told that they would only repair it, which I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER and it is now Jan 21! I will no longer buy GE products and when I called customer service I was on hold for 20 min and finally hung up which Im sure was their intent.

I purchased a slate dishwasher in Oct, 2014. After the third cycle the soap would not dispense (door would not open) or the soap dribbled out and remained running down the door. I had to run the cycle twice to get the dishes clean and for the soap to dissolve. I called the store at which it was purchased. A tech came out and replaced a part. Did not work. After the second time, when the tech said nothing was wrong, even though he saw the soap running down the front door, I called GE. They sent a tech from a different store. After the eighth repair I told them I wanted it replaced. They had already replaced the soap dispenser twice, the control board and even told me to move the baskets (ridiculous). They also suggested I run hot water before the cycle! They said if it was repairable they could not replace it.We went back and forth with this and they finally agreed to replace it. Got the new slate dishwasher in July, 2015. After two cycles I started having the exact same issues! I will not deal with GE or ever buy another of their appliances. I will tell everyone I know not to deal with this company. Quality is terrible and service was extremely frustrating, having to take off work numerous times and wait hours for the service person. In the end, it never worked!

We have had this microwave GE JVM1631wb007 (2003) for a number of years installed above our stove. It was given to us by my husbands son so we did not have it registered with GE as owning it. However, I just sent an email to GE today asking for help as I find absolutely nothing on the internet about a scorched outside microwave door. We have had no issues with it whatsoever - until now. When we returned home from a one week vacation this past Sunday evening, we came home to a scorched OUTSIDE door on this microwave! The inside is fine. The two people who came into the house while we were gone said they did not use it but it is DEFINITELY scorched around the entire area on the outside around the screen area. I refuse to use it although my husband (who is an appliance repairman but does NOT work on microwaves) says its fine to use. Its not only hideous, it LOOKS unsafe to use. Im scared its going to catch on fire but my husband says dont worry and go ahead and use it! Im attaching a pic of it... Anyone else heard of this? Its not like we dont have the money to replace it. Im NOT going to touch the thing... You cant tell him anything. He thinks its fine. I need PROOF that this is dangerous to convince him... Please help before the house burns down!

The options for different cleaning levels are great. It does a good job at cleaning our dishes. My only negative comment is that it was new when the house was built in 2017. For the past three months it has been stopping repeatedly, multiple times, mid-cycle so that you have to repulse the start button multiple times to finish the cycle. We moved in to our home in 2006 and it had a GE Monogram Microwave built in. The microwave died and I purchased a similar GE Monogram microwave to match our kitchen in 2014. That microwave died exactly 17 months later. Fortunately, we had a home warranty program as we are selling our home. I figured that this saved me the effort to complain to GE about their product... Wrong. The Home Warranty program sent a repairman who said we can order a part. A few days later I received a call that they would replace the microwave. OK... I checked online as well as with a local retailer to see which model is the replacement model, and trim kit. Today (about 10 days after I first called for service) they delivered the new GE Monogram microwave and installed it. Fortunately, I asked to test it and we tried to boil a cup of water. The contents in the oven being cooked were not visible. Either the light was too dim or the shading on the door was too dark. I have never seen a Microwave where you could not view what is inside. I called GE Customer Service while the installers were there and they refused to allow me to keep it until a replacement was delivered. They had to deinstall it, re-install my old (non working unit) and take the new one back. I called GE with my homeowners claim info and they sent me back to the Homeowner Warranty company to start the claim all over. Ridiculous.Instead of a replacement they offered me a cash value which was 60% of what I paid the retailers. When I asked why that amount? They only provide the value based on what the Warranty company gets the products/services for (wholesale cost). Net: If I used the money to buy another product it would cost me out-of-pocket for replacement. I am hoping the new unit to be delivered in the next 3 days works better. Otherwise, GE has a significant design flaw that doesnt allow you to view what is cooking in the Microwave. If thats the case, why have a window at all? Fyi - My Panasonic Microwave in our basement is working fine.... and has for years.
