I bought the GE profile dishwasher and refrigeratior 5 years ago. The dishwasher in the first year the mother board went out then had a problem with the motor and now has gone out again and had a repair come out and cant figure out why it doesnt work. the refrigerator has gone out 5 times, the most recent is 8/1/11 and always the same problem. When ever the humidity is high the frig freezes up and then it stops running. Im very disappointed in GE, Ill never again by another GE appliance.

I bought a JVM3670SK05 a little under two years ago. It is an above the cooktop vent-a-hood microwave. I believed I was buying a quality unit. Now everything is working, but there’s no heat! Even the cheap units from Walmart work longer than this expensive piece of crap! Now I either have to spend enough to buy a new hood for cooktop and new microwave or pay the same price and buy parts in hope that they will not go out again. Not really feeling lucky with the GE product.

Bought a new GE microwave cafe series in May 2014. Within one month the handle which was not stainless steel started to peel and cut my wifes hand. GE sent a replacement new door for the unit that did not close. Then he had to transplant the handle from the new door to the old door. A month later the unit failed. A new replacement unit took 2 months to replace. It has worked 3-4 weeks and has also now totally failed. Our experience with GE CAFE microwave and GE service process is poor to miserable. I would not recommend this product or their service to anyone.

I thought that making a purchase of GE products would be a positive experience especially with GE Customer service - should they be needed for resolution of any complaints. Wow... was I wrong! I purchased a GE Microwave (junk), a GE refrigerator (junk & previously submitted a review), a GE Stove (no problem - so far) & a GE Dishwasher (junk) & this review is based on this product. All of the aforementioned GE products were purchased at the same time. The dishwasher began to leak & malfunction. I called GE & they put me through the paces - the beginning of another terrible experience. I was directed by GE & RC Willey to Consumer Electronics who send out a repairman who proceeded to rip me off for 165.00 for a part that didnt work! C.E. denied sending a serviceman to service the dishwasher! I returned to GE for help in getting my dishwasher back in service. The ONLY solution that they offered me was a replacement that I had to purchase! Bottom line the experience cost me close to 675.00!! The Original GE Dishwasher cost me 1,000.00!! GE refused to take the dishwasher back or even give me any type of credit for what I have. What I have now is another GE piece of junk that I had to pay full price for - $550.00 + tax, etc... The washer runs forever - does a terrible job in washing & rinsing & leaves a film & a white powder-like film on the glasses. Ive changed detergents in an effort to get a decent wash out of it & that hasnt worked. I am so sorry that I spent so much money for GEs Top of the Line appliances only to end up frustrated with GE Junk & a Customer Service Department that was just as good as their product. I would NEVER purchase or even think of purchasing another GE product!!! My advice to anyone considering purchasing ANY GE Product is Dont Do It.

In January 2010, I bought a sensor cooking microwave oven (Model: JES1460DN1BB Serial #: MS900742B). I paid almost $500.00 for it. Now, in less than two years, the inside is already clipping off so it is dangerous to use. I returned it to the store and was told that the guarantee was good for only one year. So, I would have to pay to have it repaired. My last microwave (before GE) lasted well over 10 years. I always thought that GE was a good company; I guess not. I feel that it is their fault. I seldom use the microwave and I even clean it with a damp cloth. I do not think that I should have to pay for the repairs and I should be given some kind of a discount on a new one. I feel that GE is now in the business of making effective appliances. They should stand behind what they make.

I purchase GE Profile appliances for my new home. I thought I had done my research but until I actually owned I found I feel differently. The microwave pad scratches very easy and after only a few months you can see which buttons I use the most. I’ve only used a microfibers cloth to clean and it scratched the surface. Appliance repairman said to use terry towel. Wish I’d known that. Secondly, after owning all Samsung appliances previously I now appreciate what I had. So many of the features of my past microwave are not on this GE. For example the vegetable good, built in sensory knew when vegetables were cooked. Also, soften butter and chocolate was another feature. Thaw meat knew when it was thawed. So my advise go for the Samsung microwave

We purchased a GE Over-The-Range microwave, model LVM1750DM1BB in late 2008 and had nothing but problems with it, from paint peeling off on the inside to buttons which did not work, to burning smell, until it finally quit completely. Nothing worked, nada. This was not a cheap microwave and, added with installation expenses, was a major purchase. Even so, it would cost more to have it repaired than the original costs combined. This is criminal, a total rip-off!

Second GE Spacesaver Microwave - It is a total mystery, no clock, no light, no fan, no power. We replaced a GE Spacesaver that came with our house with a new GE Spacesaver Adora (Model DVM1850DM4WW). It has been in use for less than 2 years and has been used only a few times per week. I have a Sharp Carousel II that we use in our basement. It gets as much use as the new GE. It is 28 years old, and works fine every day. This is the second GE product and this one lasted less than 2 years. Ill never buy another GE product. I was trying to support an American company. Anyone know a good one that makes microwaves?

GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old.
GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old. Two years ago, we noticed that the gaskets, both around the tub and on the bottom of the door, were becoming gummy and rippling. We were hoping to make it another couple of years before buying a new dishwasher, but a couple of week ago, the top arm fell off because the gasket was so degraded. We ordered the appropriate parts and were only able to replace the top-arm gasket and the tub gasket. We had to call an authorized GE repairman, specifically RC Appliance in Sparks, NV. When he tried to get the gasket out, his hands turned black from the rubber. After about an hour of trying to get the new gasket installed, he had to use his pliers to crimp the gasket in place leaving large dents along the bottom edge of the door. He said the factory had crimped the old gasket in place at the factory from the other side. I am extremely unhappy about the workmanship and the fact that the gaskets did not last a reasonable time. I dont want to seek an attorney, but would rather GE contact me to discuss what must be done.

We wrote to GE regarding the issue with the dishwasher and, after some phone tag, a certified GE engineer came to the house, diagnosed the problem and ordered all the replacement parts. This morning, they came by to install and essentially rebuild the entire system with the exception of the stainless steel. Overall, we are very happy with the outcome. With all the negative issues GE experiences online with regard to the Cafe Series, I give them a solid 8 for responsiveness and taking care of the situation. Perhaps ours is a rarity, but if you approach them logically and with facts, they seem willing to work with the consumer. Heres hoping the system cleans better now too!

The dishwasher is poor quality. Top is thin, top dish rack has trouble with tall glasses. Bottom rack doesnt slide in and out well. The power cord and water cords are too short. They are 2 ft shorter than our previous model dishwasher. Top was loose when delivered and had the wrong screw in one of the holes. The hose and cords are difficult to hook up because they are so short. We cant fit as many dishes in as our previous model of the same size and the unbiased reviewers are saying its washing quality is poor. We havent had it long and hate it. Home Depot wont take returns on portable dishwashers though. Out lots of money on this. This GE is thin plastic trash that costs lots of money with no return.

GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014.
GE cafe dishwasher, model CDT725SSFOSS - Bought new home December 16, 2014. Dishwasher worked well for a short period of time. Six months into ownership the unit began to leak and was quickly and efficiently repaired while under warranty. 10 months into warranty, the dishwasher began to rumble very loudly during every drain cycle, to the point where it sounded like it was going to walk out of the kitchen. Warranty tech showed up and had to order parts. Not sure which pump to replace he ordered both. Tech returns 10 days later and replaces both pumps. He turns power back on and the entire unit is dead electrically. Nothing works, pumps, motors, keypad, nada! Repair keypad was ordered along with a new wiring harness, just in case it was the source of the problem.2 weeks later, and one week before warranty expires, the repairman shows up and replaces the keypad and wiring harness. Yippie skippie, everything works but the tech is still confused, telling me the keypad lights should turn off at the end of the cleaning cycle, he could never make that happen. He completes his repairs on December 23. The unit performs flawlessly for 3 complete cycles, except the lights on the keypad never turn off at the end of the cleaning cycles.Sometime during the week of January 11-17 (while I was traveling) the unit dies again. Completely inoperable electrically. Follow up call with GE warranty service and the entire focus is on the fact that the warranty has expired. I keep pressing and the warranty person finally admits that service parts should carry a 30 day warranty. Service tech arrives and tells me he has to order parts. Keypad has been back ordered and I have no idea when it will show up.Totally unreliable expensive piece of junk. I can only imagine what the future holds. This experience seems to mimic Jack Welchs business philosophy to a tee - maximize profit and return to the shareholders while minimizing production costs and ignoring the customer needs completely. Highly recommend that you run any direction except towards purchasing any GE appliance, especially the Cafe series. Dishwasher. Nonexistent quality controls, no parts available, disappointing performance, extremely high price, P.O.S! DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES. Negative Stars rating is what I would give this product. It will for good recycle materials at the scrap yard, sooner than later I am afraid!

We purchased our GE Cafe stainless steel dishwasher in May of 2012. Periodically, it leaks around the bottom of the door. I have to put a plastic container on the floor to catch the water. This is bad enough and very disappointing, but the next and most important issue I have with it is the fact that it doesnt clean properly. I always, each and every load, rewash 3 to 4 items. The stainless handles also get very hot to the touch, which isnt very safe for a toddler. If I had the strength, Id pick it up and throw it out the back door. A dishwasher is designed to do one thing, wash dishes; its not a difficult concept. It is supposed to make life easier, not harder.

Slow leak that caused E4 code to beep incessantly! Had a warranty repair person look at it... Turns out the new dishwasher has a faulty seam that in fact leaks! This is all fine until... one has to make numerous calls to the GE warranty line, which should be called a WARNING Line. The customer service rep was very rude and reprimanded us for not noticing the leak sooner, he seemed to not believe we had any issue... All because they could not find the service repair # that was submitted.Anyway, two weeks later we still wash our dishes and NO one has called us back from GE with any answers... SO FRUSTRATING! DO NOT BUY A GE PRODUCT whatever you do... This company has the worst customer service and warranty program. We make our daily call in hopes of being looked after one day... They keep telling us that a manager has to approve the replacement of this POC unit we spent $917 on!!! My business partner is about to purchase 20 GE dishwashers for his apartment block... I guarantee that his order will change after we chat this weekend! Thoroughly done with ALL GE products after this nightmare!

I am a licensed master plumber. I do a fair share of high end kitchen installs, I noticed that in the last 5 years that all GE dishwashers I installed had a whole lot of extra parts to be installed by the installer. For example. Today I uncrated and tried to roll a GE dishwasher I got 6 and a drip tray fell out. Then when I went to install the dishwasher in the cabinet I had to install 4 different rubber flanges. When I went to push the dishwasher in the flanges came loose and hindered the install. The the insulation jacket kept binding up. The last 10 of these GE dishwashers I have installed the dishwasher appears to be racked or not square. I had to tell the General Contractor that I dont want to install the GE dishwashers any more. Way too much trouble. I have much better luck and ease of installation with Miele and Bosch. The GE dishwasher are very frustrated to install. Bob Licensed Master Plumber since 1982Richmond VA

I recently had a service tech out to repair my dishwasher. Before I knew it, he was opening the unit and found a tube looking piece stuck in the unit. He was at my house for 15 minutes and the bill was over $250. He should have asked if I was okay with the procedure he was going to perform and the cost before proceeding. To make matters worse, the dishwasher is not cleaning dishes now. I sent a prior email to GE a couple of weeks ago with no response. I would have never spent this money if I had been given the option and certainly now I have been charged for a repair that actually made my unit worse than before since it is not cleaning the dishes like it did before the repair. I respectfully requested that my money be refunded and/or be given a credit towards the purchase of a GE appliance and have received no response. I tried calling and have been on hold for over 30 minutes now with no one picking up, despite the fact that hold time stated estimated wait time was 5 minutes.

When we bought our house we upgraded our GE appliances to stainless steel. I had no problems with the dishwasher until a few days ago. Then it stopped working completely. As with most of the complaints I have read the control panel was not working. We took the front door apart just to see if the dishwasher was worth salvaging or should we buy a new one. A screw was NEVER installed on the vent assembly to hold it in place. The entire inside if the door was corroded by steam and/or water. So every wash slowly degrading the electronics. 18 months, 6 months past its warranty where now its out of their hands and you can pay $89 to have someone just look at it. We were lucky it just broke because this hidden mistake on their part could have not only caused a short circuit but a fire. Like so many of the other stories. I will not buy GE again.

We paid GE $102 (other folk sell it for $76, as we later discovered). There were no useable installation instructions. Our extremely competent handyman could not figure out how to do it and called GE for help at 800 636-2005. He was rudely dismissed and was told to look for instructions on Youtube! Bought a GE Dishwasher on March 31st 2017. Used it in April & May, left June 1st for the summer so dishwasher was not used for 2 mo. Tried to use it in August when we got back it didnt work. Would not pump water. Called GE. They sent a service tech. out, replaced the pump, still didnt work. So next week they came out again & this time ordered a Computer board. Ever since then they have came out twice a month to repair dishwasher. Always something different. I requested 3 different times to have it replaced they refused. So I straight up asked if they were just trying to run me out of warranty & then drop me. Well, guess what - they came out for the last time on 4/5/2018 to repair it for the last time out of warranty. They turned me down every time to just replace it. WORST PRODUCT EVER. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, POOR POOR POOR.

I like many other people have had issues with the keypad malfunctioning. The first one shattered the first time I used the microwave, I then replaced it 2 years later and now another 3 years the second one stopped working. GE was rude when I talked to them, said they had no record of my replacement keypads even though I contacted them directly and were offering another for $514. That is no deal, I could get one in the store for that price. Also, the icemaker and water dispenser in my GE Cafe french door refrigerator are constantly malfunctioning, my range keypad does not always work, and the seal around my dishwasher keeps coming off! GE these are not quality products and you do not stand behind them.

Not a very good job at cleaning, plus takes over two hours to run. It has a steam function, to help clean grease off of dishes, and should be used for simple cleaning too. Although the instructions state it can hold settings of 8, we have never been able to use more than 4 before it is packed. The utensil holders are almost useless. It has nice lighting for controls and a clean front. The installations instructions are not very good. They also did not include an elbow to connect to the water supply, which the hardware store manager said is standard connection, so GE just wanted to save $4.00 and piss off the customers instead.

We moved into our new manufactured home in May of 2013. That is the month our above range built-in GE microwave was installed. In October of 2013, one of my sons heated a frozen chicken cordon bleu serving for 3 minutes, 45 seconds, according to packaging directions. He said that some of the inside of his food was cool, so my other son put in his serving for four minutes, zero seconds. All of the packaging was removed and each serving was placed on a separate Corelle plate and covered with Glad microwave-safe plastic wrap. While heating the second serving, the microwave started on fire. Fortunately, my son extinguished the fire before it spread. The food did not combust. The fire seems to have started from the ceiling behind the fan. The entire inside of our microwave is clean except for the soot that billowed out from the center of the ceiling. When the service tech came, he scrubbed the soot off of the ceiling with some paper napkins (which he left inside of the unit) and said that the microwave was a total loss. He also said the fire was caused by misuse, because plastic wrap is not meant to be used in the microwave, therefore even though the fire happened within a year of purchase and installation, our warranty was void. I asked GE to get a second opinion and they agreed to send a third party servicer (A&E) who stood me up three times! I finally got to schedule a GE tech to come at the end of December and they sent the same guy who said the fire was our fault! He told me that he never said plastic wrap is not meant for the microwave, but that we are being dishonest because fires only start when the food is left in the microwave for too long. He accidentally let it slip that he is seeing the same problem with GE microwaves in a lot of new construction for student housing in Tallahassee. (We live 20 minutes south of there.) He attempted to recover GEs reputation afterward by saying that of course it was the students faults, too, for misusing the microwave units. Anyway, GE has graciously offered to sell us a new microwave at slight discount. Haha, no thank you!

My GE DVM5140DN1BB Serial # ZS 902371B manufactured in December 2009 has stopped functioning. It looks and sounds like it is working but it will not heat. GE only guarantees their warranty for 1 year after the date of purchase. This should have been my first clue. For a fee, they will come look at it.Growing up we had an Amana Radar Range. My mom bought it in 1987. I replaced it so that I could save counter space and also that it would match my other kitchen appliances. I bought the GE microwave in May 2010. This product lasted for a total of 16 months. Ridiculous! In my opinion, big business companies no longer have to be held accountable for producing bad products. Money was lost but will never again be spent on a GE product.

In 2008, after waiting 30 years, we remodeled our kitchen using both a GE Range & GE OTR Microwave, model # JVM1850. Last week, it started making a loud noise when started and wont heat. From reading online it sounds like the magnetron went. Everything else, fan, turntable, lights inside and outside work, but wont heat. I called in for service to find that it would cost $89.95 to have them come out to diagnose it. Also read that a magnatron is between $150 - $200, and used to be warranted for 5 yrs. New GE microwaves only carry a 1 year total warranty. So they know they are supplying junk to us. Had to just bite the bullet and replace it. People cant afford for appliances to only last this long, at the price they are charging. I am not only upset at having to spend another $450 only 6 1/2 years later to replace a microwave that was lightly used, but GE has chosen to change the look as well, so it no longer will match the range it sits above. When I was remodeling, I read so much about matching appliances... not matched anymore. Totally disgusted.

Sparks and grinding noise out of the magnetron tube area started recently and there is no metal in the microwave. It arcs like there is metal. Ahhhh me, here we go again! Its no wonder that the state of business in this country is not as solid as it could be. I purchased your GE dishwasher, Model #GDF540HSF2SS, Serial # ZA703816B, on 01/19/2014 from Lowes Home Centers, 3805 Northern Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM 87124. It was delivered and installed soon after. Soon after that, mid to late July, it began to flood our kitchen. A service call had to be made to replace the tub gaskets. Covered under initial 1 year warranty. Here it is the 5th of November, 2015 and now the unit does not function at all. A service diagnostics call performed today the 6th of November to ascertain its ailment to the tune of $89.00! (No, we didnt purchase the Extended Warranty. My belief has always been that the option to purchase an extended warranty is; 1) an opportunity for the company to make extra money on the sales of a product, and 2) an admission by the manufacturer that the product is probably not well made and will probably break down sometime in the near future!) I guess that future is here for this product! It almost lasted 2 YEARS!! Deplorable! The last dishwasher I had was almost 20 years old and the only service to it was to replace a water hose (which I did myself). Diagnostics proved that the electronic motherboard failed! In addition to the inconvenience and the $89.00, Id be willing to bet that the replacement part for this unit will cost 1/2 of the original purchase price of $599.00! AND I WAS CORRECT; the replacement board will cost $269.00 to replace (part and labor)!!! What a rip-off! I will never purchase another GE product as long as I live! And I will go online and register my opinion and complaint about this product with the Consumer Services Bureau and any place else that I can find to vent electronically!Recently the Sandoval Economic Alliance attempted to lure GE to establish their Headquarters here in New Mexico. For various reasons, we did not make GEs shortlist for consideration. I am thankful that we didnt make it! Why would our state want such a crappy company embarrassing our state with their crappy products? I will be sending a copy of this complaint to them as well.

It has now failed 5 times in 4 years - 2015, 2016, twice in 2017 & now 2018 - and the repairs have cost us more than the original price of this piece of junk. We bought it from a local dealer, KAM Appliances in Hyannis, MA, but had to resort to an independent repair service, because KAM was not very responsive. I know that I should have given up on it a long time ago, but in the past I always had good luck with GE appliances. Needless to say, I will never buy anything from GE again. When the handle on my expensive replacement (GE Profile for GE Profile) microwave/convection oven peeled, we called our retailer (PC Richards is really good about service). A new door showed up and it, too, has a plastic handle. The difference is, this time its solid grey plastic as opposed to white plastic with silver paint. Seems to me that an expensive SS appliance should have an SS handle. Too heavy? Just use a tube of SS - not solid. Too hot if above burners? Didnt my last GE Profile micro/convection have a SS handle? I spoke with customer relations. The person was well trained not to say anything that might suggest she agreed with me. Since the issue is cosmetic and not functional, I have to consider the issue dealt with now that the door has been replaced. I told them I will do my best to publicize this issue and that I will never again purchase a GE appliance. I also called CEO Jeff Immelts office in Connecticut. I made it clear that my dissatisfaction has cost them a long time, loyal customer and that I would spread the word. I would appreciate if anyone agrees with GE that a SS handle would be too hot over stove burners.

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. I had broken dishwashers sitting in my living room for a month. Easter was quite embarrassing with an appliance next to the table to say the least. DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES!!!

Figure it out GE! The sixth motor and mode selector for our washer has been reluctantly ordered by a tech this morning. The second motor was installed months after buying the brand new machine. Now, only two months since the fifth motor and mode selector was installed (Dec 2, 2011), the wiring harness is burnt up. The tech recommends replacement of the washer by GE, but only gets push-back from GE. This newest incident included a horrific smell of smoke. I do not trust this machine. We purchased our GE dishwasher in September 2014. In December 2014 the dishwasher started to make a loud grinding noise. I contacted GE and a repair man was sent promptly to do the repair. Upon arrival and looking at the dishwasher he advised me that it was the motor. He then stated that he would order the parts and also stated that he did not have the correct tool to remove the motor and has not had one since they have changed the manufacturing process. At this time I am still waiting for the parts and I have contacted GE numerous times to find that the parts were either on back order or had been shipped out. I am still waiting for the parts and the repairs to be done. The estimated date of the parts to arrive is January 29th. We purchased a GE Model JVM 3160DF3WW microwave oven in October 2016. The handle broke on this unit the first week after we bought it. It then worked fine for 10 months. In August 2017 it began throwing the circuit breaker erratically, then whenever it was turned on and has not worked for a full day since. It has been repaired by Appliance Solutions of Utah at least 6-7 times (by two different technicians) and still has not worked. At least $500 worth of new parts have been put into a $200 microwave by them. After numerous calls to GE, they have offered to send me a Goodwill Certificate for the amount of purchase after I buy another GE microwave. With our experience with this microwave (inoperable and unrepairable for 5 months) I dont intend to buy another GE microwave; especially considering the one available locally is the exact same model as the one we have, which was purchased, from Sears, for $191.42. Appliance Solutions of Utah has all the records of the NUMEROUS unsuccessful repair attempts made on the unit since August 2017. I requested a refund so that a different unit could be purchased. Over the course of the past 5 months I have talked to at least four different customer representatives, after multiple hours on hold. None could find any record of the previous discussions. GEs final suggested solution was to offer us a $100 Goodwill Certificate, the title in itself being ironic. So, after buying a microwave which was defective in the first place, spending $75 to have it installed, being without the use of the microwave for five months, and being told that, GE does not offer refunds, that is what the company feels they should do to rectify the situation. Setting aside an implied warranty of fitness, the fact that the repair agents sent out by GE could not repair the microwave after numerous attempts would seem sufficient grounds to fully refund the purchase price. That is the least a reputable company would be expected to have done. GEs position is that the store selling the microwave would be responsible for a refund; apparently ignoring the terms of the warranty. I this point, I am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and a claim in small claims court for Breach of Warranty. Obviously, the microwave was never repaired per the terms of the warranty as it is still inoperable and has never worked since the initial report to GE. We will NEVER buy another GE product; Buyer beware!

I bought countertop microwave on 7-2-10 in Panorama City, CA. We were moving to Houston so left it in its original box, but the new apartment had a built-in. I left it in box until May 25, 2011 when we moved into an empty house. I took out my new microwave and used it from 5/25/11 until 12/4/11. I baked a 5- minute sweet potato. Later, I went to reheat coffee and no clock, no nothing. I tried the microwave at different plugs, no response. Then I tried the toaster in the microwaves plug. The toaster was fine so its not the plug. A repairman at his business location said its probably the computer chip. For $95, he would install a new one which would last a lot longer. I own a GE Model #JNM1731DM1CC that came with my condo, in March of 2008. After two weeks, the tray was spinning, and nothing was heating up. They came, and replaced something, and it worked again. It is now November of 2011, and the ** thing doesnt go off. When the timer stops, and you open the door, the table turns, and the microwave is on, letting rays come right out at you. I have to unplug it after every use, so that I dont expose myself to rays coming from the microwave. I spoke with several appliance repair shops, and they told me that it is probably the circuit board, and that to repair it would run at least $200. I am so disgusted with GE. I also have a stove that practically blew up, when the door shattered, after only having it for six months. They had to come and replace the whole glass front. I doubt very much, if they will help me, because it took at least 12 calls to get them to replace the glass door, with the glass all over the place, and inside the oven, four days before Easter dinner at my house.

I call them, set up appointment, and ask what the charges will be - $79.95 home service fee. Fantastic! I schedule the appointment, and three days later, a technician comes to my home. I tell him it’s the magnetron, and he turns on the microwave for a second. He says yup and types his diagnosis into his laptop and prints out his estimate. He hands it to me, and it says “Total amount $ 270.10”! On a covered part!I asked him if he was joking, because the M.S.R.P. for that model, which I got from G.E., is... wait for it... $269.00 for the whole microwave oven! I threw the tech out and called their consumer advocate line (which took over an hour to talk to a human) and asked who sets their pricing for repairs, and was told their senior technicians set the labor charges! It’s a twenty-minute job! $190.00 for twenty minutes? So the tech left with $79.95 for doing absolutely nothing! Great job General Electric! I will never buy another product from you again! By the way, the magnetron they say is priced at $142.30 is available online for $97.50! It takes twenty minutes to replace, and a monkey can do it!

I notice when cleaning the inside of the microwave that the coating on the top (ceiling) of the microwave has bubbled and cracked and there is a hole in the interior top coating. This unit is about 9 years old, and is a dual unit as the bottom is a convection oven with very little use. Im told I need to replace the microwave. I have never seen bubbled and cracked interior in many years of owning and using this type of appliance. The photo shows the defects in the lining coating. Im really upset about this.

Our dishwasher has gotten very warm mid-cycle and now trips the breaker in the house each time we run the cycle. The problem became evident in April 2012. We have called in a GE repair person to fix it and they said it was a heating issue and not repairable. We have not used it since, but have not replaced it with a new one yet. In August, we read about the recall of a similar model number manufactured within same time frame. Our machine model is PDW7300J03WW, the recalled model is PDW7. Our machines serial # is **. Strangely, the serial number is not listed in the recall, even though symptoms are exactly the same!We have called GE Consumer Affairs at 1-800-386-1215 four times, the most recent today, 9/14/2012. Each time we call, we are left on hold for 59 minutes only to be disconnected automatically! I am sending a registered letter to GE CA with a copy of this link and intend to contact my local news if I do not receive sufficient response within the week. Does GE need to see an actual fire report from my fire department or worse in order to get their attention to replace the unit? It is disgraceful and extremely dangerous.

GE Microwave Model JES1655DR1BB - I have had many microwaves over many years but never had one malfunction as bad as this one. I am only glad that it happened with me rather than my wife or child. Or, if I had left the room while it was on. Immediately after turning the unit on, it started making loud electrical arcing noises and flashing light. I had just placed a microwave safe glass dish inside. I removed that and tested again with nothing inside. Same thing happened. I next thoroughly cleaned the unit. Tried again. Same thing happened. I had paid a little more for this unit than the usual believing it would be worth it. It clearly was not.

The little trap door which releases soap stopped opening when the GE top-of-the-line Profile dishwasher was one week past its warranty. Because of the design, all kinds of crud collects under the hinged door, meaning there is ALWAYS an odor unless we get down, hands and knees, to scrub it out. Features are fine -- as long as they work. Having a dishwasher that doesnt even dispense soap and cleanser isnt worth much, limiting us to the automatic feed with shine liquid. Stainless steel outside is impossible to keep clean. There are streaks and blotches within minutes of polishing with Sheela Shine. Suspect it has something to do with the humidity where we live, but it shouldnt happen. I find it strange that GE is perpetually sending me warranty extension offers for my refrigerator (which never fails), but nary an offer for the dishwasher or microwave/convection oven in the Profile line which have each needed repairs twice in the three years since purchase.

We have had to repair new appliances, the fridge and the dishwasher. The ice maker doesnt work and the water flows only when it feels like it. We paid good money for the Profile models in the new home. There were four repairs before these mentioned. Now we refuse to fix them any more. We will buy another brand next. We would never recommend this to anyone. Its sad for the company to produce such problem appliances for people. Obviously, they are not interested in repeat business. Now, there is this recall! It is annoying!

I have had a few cheap microwaves but at this point in my life I wanted to buy a good quality microwave that would last. Well I bought a 200 dollar GE microwave in February. 3 months later it went out on me. I did hard and soft reset numerous times with no success. They offered me a discounted check to replace it and it would take 4-6s weeks to receive. Instead we returned to place of purchase and they gave us a floor model to replace it. All was well for 2 months when lo and behold this one started doing the same thing. No amount of resetting would make it run. It went out cooking corn on the cob. Why is this so hard to keep running? Their response this time was a goodwill rebate certificate to purchase only a GE microwave. Why in heavens name would I want another one? It only lasts a couple of months and who is to say the 3rd replacement will not be the same.

Have to hand wash first, then place in dw. Service man said dishwasher working properly. All was wet, rinse aid constantly leaking. Tech replaced. Inside of dw gray color had milky white film on it, dishes, rubber gaskets around door. Tech poured citric acid sol. on filter. Next run, white film again. New Cuisinart pots, pans, lids, silverware & all, scratched and nicked in first wash. Found a piece heavy glass and screw in DW. Tech said someone forgot to put screw in panel and he didnt know where glass came from. Seven + tech visits, GE Consumer Relations refused my calls. Every 2 to 3 weeks, have to remove, clean filter, bottom screen, hand dry. One cycle works. White film was hard water buildup. A used dishwasher!! Bought water softener. Problems with R.O System & Refrigerator. NO More GE!

We had a GE dishwasher installed by the builder when the house we live in was built and it was one of the ones which were recalled as a fire hazard. We didnt really have any issues with it though, other than it was a bit noisy. With the credit offered, we decided to upgrade to a high end Profile model. The sound proofing is impressive and it was actually hard to tell the unit was on, but that is the only thing you can say that is good about the machine. As a dishwasher, it fails miserably and often items come out dirtier than when they went in. OK, weve struggled on with that for some time now but today, a nasty burnt plastic smell brought us both to the kitchen to investigate. Sure enough, the replacement for the fire hazard was the culprit. Obviously, it will need some serious repairs before it is safe to use once more. Looking through this and other sites, it seems this problem is rife and GE is reluctant to deal with the issues. Well I think that will be our last GE appliance. Thank you very much and rather than throw good money after bad, we will put the repair costs towards another machine ABGE.

I have had this GE microwave for over a year now and have not had a problem with it. It has a variety of settings and it doesnt quit if something causes a spark/feedback, like a tiny piece of foil. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Also, the light stays on while cooking and comes on when the door is opened allowing one to watch and check on the cooking process even in a dim night light environment. Mid-morning munchies without having to turn a bright light on. I have tried other GE products and was disappointed with their performance. This GE microwave has worked well and I have not had any problems with it.

Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwash
Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwasher started leaking bottom of door. After five repair service calls. (Thats 10 times waiting for service man or for parts to be stalled). The final repair killed the dishwasher dead and GE replaced it with a new Monogram dishwasher. I thought all was working fine but then this new dishwasher developed a leak underneath and the sensor shut it down completely. Service call made to GE and a GE service man came, only he couldnt get to the leak area because he couldnt pull the dishwasher out because the connecting water hose was being stretched so tight he said he couldnt disconnect it because he couldnt see behind the unit or the drawers to see where it was hung up. Plus he is not authorized to install or reinstall dishwashers. So I call GE repair and now have spoken to the most uncaring, dis concerned case manager handling my account. He tells me that this now a installation problem and that even though GE delivered the dishwasher and installed it that because these were outside venders they (GE) were not responsible for the installation and dont know if they used GE standards to install it. So because the GE service man couldnt move the dishwasher I now needed to get a plumber to disconnect the dishwasher, find out what the problem is with the installation, coordinate a service call date with GE service to then come out and put in the parts, then have a plumber back in to install the dishwasher again. GE will reimburse me up to $125 for the plumbers work and I have to submit the plumbers invoice. No guarantee that a leak will happen again, because the GE service man cant even run a test on the replacement parts because the dishwasher isnt hooked up to water and he cant do that because he isnt authorized by GE to install. Oh, the dishwashers warranty ended on 10/10/2015. My service call went in three days before it was to expire so service is covered for the leak (or so I have been told). But what will breakdown next with this appliance? I bought GEs top of the line package. I bought a MADE IN USA appliance and I can honestly say that this GE appliance turned out to be unreliable, unrepairable and their case managers uncaring. I will never ever, ever buy another GE appliance. I will never recommend any GE appliances to anyone ever. My KitchenAid lasted for 26 years without a service call. When I remodeled my kitchen I purchased a Bosch dishwasher. That pleasure was 13 years old when we sold our home. We have been in this new home for 1-1/2 years and now on my second dishwasher with a future of many service calls ahead and very bad taste for GE. If this leak problem is not fixed or another problem arises, I will yank this dishwasher out and buy another brand. A reliable one and definitely not a General Electric EVER! Since this GE Monogram package was purchased at P.C. Richards they will also be notified of my displeasure and I will continue my discourse of GE forever for their lack of product truthfulness and quality, plus consumer disregard.

I have to agree with other post about the customer service. Our dishwasher is only 15 months old. First call went fine after that everything is with email. Tried calling several times to get correct parts shipped after only getting one of three needed, I called and finally after 45 minutes an agent answered. After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. Now waiting for a new assessment of what the issue might be and hopefully will be able to get the parts without issue.

I had a blow up with my GE microwave which came with 2 metal racks. I used the rack once and the microwave flared up as if I had warmed something on aluminum foil. I removed the racks. The microwave is 2 years old. Last week I warmed a chocolate chip cookie on a paper plate for 10 seconds. Immediately the microwave flared up, the plastic bracket that the shelf rest on burned and melted. I was lucky no one was hurt or a fire resulted. GE came to inspect the microwave and offered to replace it for $258.80. I am arguing with GE. I want them to replace it free of charge. Their own technician tells customers to never use the metal shelves. I maintain that the design or brackets are faulty and GE should stand behind their products. This microwave was always used correctly. Do consumers have any rights at all?

Ive had this stainless steel GE Dishwasher model GDF645SMONES with the controls in the front for nearly a year. The dishwasher constantly comes on with the slightest accidental touch. However the buttons that control the cycle settings are extremely difficult to operate to cancel the lock or delay hours features. I have to literally bang on the buttons to get a response. My thumbs are now sore from the constant pushing to cancel that lock and delay features that came on accidentally. Once locked, good luck in canceling anything. If you have a choice, run away from GE like the plague, because if you have
If you have a choice, run away from GE like the plague, because if you have to make a warranty claim, it may become a nightmare. I purchased a new home May of 2015, and my wife and I paid for the appliance upgrade to the GE Profile, which werent cheap. Less than 2 months I noticed that the microwave had a burn spot on the bottom of the door where it sits against the exterior of the microwave, the paint was burnt from the metal, and the rubber seal melted. I did not think too much of it because the microwave still worked and unless you opened it you did not see it, so it wasnt so much of an eye sore. Fast forward to January 2016, my wife informed me that the microwave stopped heating, and that she was going to put a ticket in to New Home Warranty, I informed her that we probably need to go to GE directly as I knew that is what they were going to say. So I called GE and put in a Service ticket. They informed me that it was going to be a little over a week before anyone would be available to come look at it, to which I was OK with. The repair guy finally came. I explained to him in detail what the issues were. He opened the microwave, closed it back, wrote some things on his computer, and told me that he ordered a part called the magnetron tube, which sounded like something from the transformers. He told me it would be a week before the part would be ordered, so I asked him if it wouldnt be easier for them to just replace the microwave. He told me that it is a warranty repair and they have to try and fix it first and if not, then they will. The evening before the repair guy was supposed to show up to change the door and the magnetron tube, I got a voicemail stating that the part will not be received until the evening of the repair, so they rescheduled me for 2 days later. GE just assumed that I would be available, because I probably sit at home all day waiting for service repairs. I called back the number to see what was going on. I was adamant that they replace the microwave, because by this time it was already 3 weeks without a microwave. And with small kids in the house it was very annoying to have to put a pot on the stove every time you needed to heat anything. After 45 minutes, I was still nowhere with them, so I ended up sticking with their new appointment window. I was leaving for work 2 days later when I noticed the repair guy at another home in the community. I thought to myself why couldnt he have done our repair the same day if he were already going to be in the neighborhood? About 45 minutes later my wife called me and told me that the repair guy showed up to repair the unit, that they were supposed to repair a day later, only to be told that the damage on the door was caused by arching, and that it will happen again so the microwave is non-repairable, so they will have to replace it. He told my wife that she will be receiving a call from the warehouse within 24 hours to schedule the replacement once the microwave is available, but she could call the warranty repair department to see if they could expedite it. After another 25 minutes on the phone going back and forth we were told that it will be about 7-10 business days before the microwave may be available. Now it is good to note that the warehouse where they stock the product is only 2 hours away from where I live. So by the count of it by the time we receive a new microwave, it would have been about 5 to 6 weeks from the initial call to get the issue taken care of.
