The WORST Customer Relations Department & GE Dishwasher EVER
The WORST Customer Relations Department & GE Dishwasher EVER 1. Ordered dishwasher & Scheduled Delivery. 2. After my 4 hour window of waiting, I was called and informed the installation needed to be cancelled due to the installer calling in sick. 3. During installation, they dropped my dishwasher & dented the door. I rejected the dishwasher as my other one was already hauled out. 4. Due to my hectic work schedule, my dishwasher was installed about 2 weeks later. 5. Dishwasher was not cleaning. 6. Technician came out another week later and I was told it was MISSING parts from the manufacturing plant and should have never passed QC. In addition, It was missing the bottom spinner and the top spinner was snapped off. The technician glued it back on.7. Called Customer Relations to get the runaround saying, its not their fault it came from the manufacture missing parts. In closing, I own a large apartment complex and have many BUSINESS friends. I will NEVER buy a GE product EVER again and to think of all the people I know, Im going to share my horrid experience with everyone I know. This will make great conversation when golfing too.

We bought a new $700+ Stainless Steel dishwasher 10 months ago. It has failed on several occasions, and we have been without a fix or replacement for months. We are forced to have 5 service calls, none of which have fixed it. We have been hand washing for a family of 6 for months now, and GE Consumer Relations is totally unwilling to replace it, but rather continue sending out the same service tech with no new parts or ability to correct the problem. It is the definition of insanity while we are left holding the bag. Totally unwilling to do the right thing and it is maddening to say the least. 3 months of back and forth about our need to have it replaced, and their answer is send another service person who are now 0-5. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had in any situation for anything.

Update 4/14. GE finally conceded that the dishwasher is indeed broken last week, and set up a replacement unit to be delivered and installed. The company that delivered the new unit would not install it of course...why would they? So, we had to hire another place to install it. GE is supposed to reimburse us for the extra installation expense. Im glad it is finally resolved, but man, oh man...what a headache.

We purchased a GE Cafe Dishwasher in Oct. 2013, and in Nov 2014 we had a major leak that ruined our hardwood floor. We called GE and they authorized a repair even though our Dishwasher was 1 month beyond the 1 year warranty. Unfortunately is now the end of January 2015 and the dishwasher is still not fixed after 4 attempts by their recommended factory authorized repair company. I have called and written numerous documenting the failed attempt and inability of the repair company to fix our dishwasher, and asked for a replacement, and was denied. They have already spent about $900 to pay the repair company, which I would think would have been cheaper to have replaced the dishwasher and had a satisfied customer. So I have now been without an operational dishwasher for 2 months while it sits in the middle of my kitchen floor, as I wait for the cupping in my hardwood floor to lay down so I can get my floor repaired. Needless to say, I am very displeased with the quality of the GE Cafe dishwasher.

My husband purchased a General Electric Dishwasher from Badcock Home Furnishings in Gainesville Florida as a surprise for me in 2016. I have owned four houses and five dishwashers previously to owning this General Electric Dishwasher. None of my other dishwashers were by General Electric and worked fine. This General Electric Dishwasher is by far the worst dishwasher I have ever used in my life. It does not clean dishes no matter how well you stack the machine with your dirty dishes and utensils. I can always count on having to rewash at least 10 dishes and or utensils for each load that I wash in this dishwasher. Also, the detergent dispenser does not empty completely.

To inform others that need an under-cabinet space-saving microwave, unless you are replacing an existing GE unit (and want the mounting brackets to align for easy re-installation), I would strongly suggest getting a different unit. I am about to buy my third GE undercounter microwave for the past 11 years. The rest of my kitchen is pretty high-end Thermadore, Kitchenaide, ASKO, and Braun. My last Profile PEM 31 DMBB lasted less than three years. The Toshiba that I bought while deployed to Okinawa lasted 15 years.

GE is a very reliable name brand with history to back it up. I’ve used their washing machines for years and only changed out once due to newer features. I had Thebes first washer for at least 10 years, maybe a little more. It only needed one part replaced, that was the capacitor, otherwise it was still usable. I am not an in depth handy person but I will read and do my research and found directions doable. Additionally, I found the service help desk very informative and that’s how I discovered it was the capacitor that had gone bad after washing clothes for so many years, and believe me, I did a lot of cycles with my kids and family. I feel I got more than my money's worth. Lastly, I’m still using their products to this day. I may not have the frequency because we are empty nesters but I still believe in their products,

Our new GE dishwasher is a disappointment. 1. There is water on the door after the dishes wash. 2. There is soap on the door after the dishes wash. 3. The silverware is often dirty after the dishes wash.I have observed the following: 1. The reason for the water is the silverware trays are made of plastic and do not dry. They should make them of coated wire like they used to. 2. The soap tray is often prevented from opening all the way by the silverware in the rack. They should re-design the bottom rack. 3. The silverware tray is too enclosed for good cleaning. It should be made of coated wire like they used to.

I bought a $700 dishwasher in November 2016 and in April 2017 it was broken, parts not available, but after fighting with customer service, they sent me the parts at my house. No one is available to come over to install the parts, the parts are sitting at my table. I guess they want me to install them myself. I even had purchased a 5-year warranty. I had a blow up with my GE microwave which came with 2 metal racks. I used the rack once and the microwave flared up as if I had warmed something on aluminum foil. I removed the racks. The microwave is 2 years old. Last week I warmed a chocolate chip cookie on a paper plate for 10 seconds. Immediately the microwave flared up, the plastic bracket that the shelf rest on burned and melted. I was lucky no one was hurt or a fire resulted. GE came to inspect the microwave and offered to replace it for $258.80. I am arguing with GE. I want them to replace it free of charge. Their own technician tells customers to never use the metal shelves. I maintain that the design or brackets are faulty and GE should stand behind their products. This microwave was always used correctly. Do consumers have any rights at all?

Unit is only 7 years old and not greatly used (only two adults who dont use it much)… Purchased as part of package including GE refrigerator, range and dishwasher (already got rid of refrigerator, as parts kept breaking and unit had other chronic problems). I turned the microwave on to make popcorn - it immediately made a terrible noise and filled with smoke with an electrical smell. Unplugged the unit and contacted GE Repair. When I described what happened, I was transferred immediately to their safety unit because of the nature of the problem. A GE technician arrived today and almost immediately diagnosed the problem: a metal component that directs the waves of the microwave generation tube had burned out, and by federal regulation, he claimed, cannot be repaired - the whole appliance must be trashed and replaced. Once again, I have experienced GEs poorly engineered products that appear to be designed to fail in a relatively short time. Can you spell planned obsolescence? (No photo provided, as there is no external visual damage).

Three nights ago, I loaded my GE Profile Dishwasher, model # PDW9880L00SS and began the wash cycle. The wash cycle completed and I went off to bed leaving it on the dry cycle. The next morning I smelled a burning smell but did not know where it was coming from in my home. A few hours later, my husband began searching all of the appliances in our home to see what the burning smell was. When he opened the dishwasher smoke came out of it and everything in it was completely burned. Apparently the drying mechanism never turned off after the wash cycle or it turned itself back on only on the dry cycle. I dont know. But I know one thing for sure, we are lucky that my husband was home because I left and if he wasnt there, Im positive that the dishwasher would have caught on fire causing severe damage to our home. I will never purchase a GE appliance again. Note, I also have problems with my GE refrigerator and my GE Profile microwave and our dryer. Weve had to replace the dryer and the microwave and weve repaired the refrigerator. I have a repair person coming out to see if the dishwasher is repairable, but I dont think it will be. This is terrible.

The GE over-the-range, model JVM316URFSS was installed in our new home by the builder. We have been in the house and used the microwave moderately for the past two years. Last night, out of nowhere, the microwave started running. I realized that it was actually heating when the glass turntable popped. I jumped up and opened the door to stop the heating. The turntable was broken. The interior was incredibly hot. Having read several reviews I realize that this is not an uncommon problem. I have had a few cheap microwaves but at this point in my life I wanted to buy a good quality microwave that would last. Well I bought a 200 dollar GE microwave in February. 3 months later it went out on me. I did hard and soft reset numerous times with no success. They offered me a discounted check to replace it and it would take 4-6s weeks to receive. Instead we returned to place of purchase and they gave us a floor model to replace it. All was well for 2 months when lo and behold this one started doing the same thing. No amount of resetting would make it run. It went out cooking corn on the cob. Why is this so hard to keep running? Their response this time was a goodwill rebate certificate to purchase only a GE microwave. Why in heavens name would I want another one? It only lasts a couple of months and who is to say the 3rd replacement will not be the same.

I also bought a stove as well as the dishwasher. We Told them with great concern to put a extra warranty on the more expensive item, which was the dish washer... more could go wrong. We all agreed, including sales person. Day before the first year, the dish washer was not draining good. They said the warranty was running out. I told them, I had got extra yr warranty. The robot voice said it might be over. The repairman came in, and said the same thing. The repairman replaced everything in the dishwasher. It took him 3 visits. He got it working. He claimed there was an extra orange ball in the part and that why it didnt drain well.I started using it for 2 weeks and it stop draining completely. When I bought it the salesperson said, See I added the extra warranty on. But unbeknownst to me, she put it on the stove... How the heck am I supposed to know she did it wrong. I call the company and they said, Look at your receipt. And sure enough, it was on the stove. Looking at it and how the salesperson made it sound, it was understood by all that the warranty was on and I had an extra yr on the dishwasher... I looked at the receipt. Had a list of what I bought the warranty and we were good to go. Everything was replaced in it, everything. It was a mechanical issue and yet here it sits not working and I havent even paid for it. Standing straight in front of it, just pulling regularly. Replacement plastic handles - just two pieces of injection molded plastic - selling from other companies for as little as $10 are $130.00. $130.00! This dryer replaced an eight year old Frigidaire Gallery Series. The new GE dryer is drying clothes much quicker. I have read some reviews complaining of the buzzer, but it is a nice feature to know when the cycle is about to complete. The nice thing about this dryer is that it has the right amount of dial drying features needed without a bunch of electronics that can typically cost a big service call if gone bad. Also the bottom rear of the dryer allowed enough room for the exhaust to go either left or right behind the dryer with it still sitting close to the back wall. I bought the dishwasher July 2020. I’ve had 9 service calls and multiple calls to GE and my dishwasher still doesn’t work correctly. It doesn’t wash or dry thoroughly. At one point it wouldn’t even turn on. They came and the wires melted together. It was installed by a professional. Now I’m worried it a fire hazard. I’ve had to leave work early each time. At times they have not shown up when they were supposed to or shown up when they are not supposed to. Every time you call you are on hold for at an hour. When you do get through they pass you on to someone else who doesn’t care or know what to do. Ive been told several times that should I get a new dishwasher after this many calls but I’m told by the service person that is not true. Also if the repair person deems it unrepairable can be replaced. The repair person said that’s not true. Now the its out of warranty and they are trying to charge me for the service call. They offered to sell me a new dishwasher at a discounted price. Unbelievable! I’m at my wits end and I’ve lost faith in GE

We purchased a GE Model JVM 3160DF3WW microwave oven in October 2016. The handle broke on this unit the first week after we bought it. It then worked fine for 10 months. In August 2017 it began throwing the circuit breaker erratically, then whenever it was turned on and has not worked for a full day since. It has been repaired by Appliance Solutions of Utah at least 6-7 times (by two different technicians) and still has not worked. At least $500 worth of new parts have been put into a $200 microwave by them. After numerous calls to GE, they have offered to send me a Goodwill Certificate for the amount of purchase after I buy another GE microwave. With our experience with this microwave (inoperable and unrepairable for 5 months) I dont intend to buy another GE microwave; especially considering the one available locally is the exact same model as the one we have, which was purchased, from Sears, for $191.42. Appliance Solutions of Utah has all the records of the NUMEROUS unsuccessful repair attempts made on the unit since August 2017. I requested a refund so that a different unit could be purchased. Over the course of the past 5 months I have talked to at least four different customer representatives, after multiple hours on hold. None could find any record of the previous discussions. GEs final suggested solution was to offer us a $100 Goodwill Certificate, the title in itself being ironic. So, after buying a microwave which was defective in the first place, spending $75 to have it installed, being without the use of the microwave for five months, and being told that, GE does not offer refunds, that is what the company feels they should do to rectify the situation. Setting aside an implied warranty of fitness, the fact that the repair agents sent out by GE could not repair the microwave after numerous attempts would seem sufficient grounds to fully refund the purchase price. That is the least a reputable company would be expected to have done. GEs position is that the store selling the microwave would be responsible for a refund; apparently ignoring the terms of the warranty. I this point, I am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and a claim in small claims court for Breach of Warranty. Obviously, the microwave was never repaired per the terms of the warranty as it is still inoperable and has never worked since the initial report to GE. We will NEVER buy another GE product; Buyer beware!

We bought a new GE dishwasher 28 APR 2020. I noticed it wasnt working right about 5 months later. We are just over 1 month from the end of the warranty. The store where we bought it has been fantastic, but theyve been out 5 times to try to fix this sucker and they cant. GE told ME they would replace it if the store called to say they couldnt fix it, but when the store called, they refused. Theyre sending the repair guy out yet again one week before the warranty expires so he can call them and theyll talk about it while hes here. Ill never buy another GE appliance again.

We bought a top of the line GE microwave oven (model PEB7226DF1BB sn VA201160N) in 2014. It has now failed 5 times in 4 years - 2015, 2016, twice in 2017 & now 2018 - and the repairs have cost us more than the original price of this piece of junk. We bought it from a local dealer, KAM Appliances in Hyannis, MA, but had to resort to an independent repair service, because KAM was not very responsive. I know that I should have given up on it a long time ago, but in the past I always had good luck with GE appliances. Needless to say, I will never buy anything from GE again. I have learned that GE Appliances are now built by Haier, a Chinese company. No wonder they are junk.

We bought a GE dishwasher a little over 3 years ago. In the last week of September we awoke to the smell of hot or melted plastic. We found the source to be the dishwasher. I had loaded and started it before going to bed the night before. The counter-top above the dishwasher was stove top hot and upon opening the dishwasher found that a cutting board that we have had for many years and have always put in the dishwasher had melted on top of the heating coil. Dishwasher safe items on the top rack melted as well. It had been drying for at least 9 hours. After pulling the dishwasher out we saw the heat shield had melted and was crumbling. We contacted GE, sent them all the pictures and they told us it was not a safety issue. We have no doubt that if we had not woken up so early we would have had a fire in our house caused by the dishwasher.

We moved into a new home in June of 2011 with the appliances already included. Ours came equipped with a GE, over-the-range microwave, model JVM1540DP1WW, manufactured in Malaysia, in April of 2010. Within several months, the revolving platter began to make a bumping noise while turning and then it eventually quit turning altogether. Five service calls later, we had the platter motor replaced, circuit board and four fan motors (apparently the platter has voltage supplied from that fan to make it run) and it still didnt work.It was taken back to the shop and eventually the problem was traced to a loose wire on a terminal connector. After a month of operation, it is again beginning to make the bumping noise while the platter turns. To top it off, Consumer Reports (the March issue) deals with problematic microwaves, especially the GE model and the unexpected fires that can occur. In addition, they can be susceptible to (not always however and only on certain models) wireless transmissions which could potentially cause them to start on their own. I know for a fact that it knocks off my XM Satellite Radio when it is running. Bottom line...its history and will be replaced with a check rated appliance before I too have a major problem.

I had a problem with my GE Profile Dishwasher that I had for several years and I had it on factory warranty. However, the last time they came to repair, they did not have parts available to fix anymore. So, they recommended new one. I worked with Consumer dept and made arrangements to replace with one they recommended at $500+. After several efforts to get it delivered, it was and we began using. It is not a Profile like my old one and it does not have the additional washing, rinsing and drying cycles as the Profile. It is a flat out bottom line washer. No, sani clean etc.. We have used the machine about 4 times and each time we have to rewash several of the dishes and especially the silverware. This is the most disgusting piece of equipment I have ever used. My home is loaded with GE products from years ago, mostly the Profile series and I have been delighted with the products and service. This machine is a disaster. I cannot believe that GE has this on the market or maybe this is a machine they use to satisfy customers who may threaten to use someone elses. It was not free, as I say it cost over $500. The stores and onlines advertise better machines on sale for less. I have GE stock which I will sell. They are going down on Quality. Consequences: Stuck with poor machine that does not do job that I paid good money for. Really, GE, get yourself together. Product Model:GDF510PSD1SS.

So I was forewarned by my family of nightmare experiences they had with GE appliances over the course of the last 50 years of our family. I just bought a home with 2 GE dishwashers that are both under 5 years old, and both are malfunctioning terribly. The one has leaked from the bottom and created severe water damage, and the other will not drain. Just an affirmation of the bad experiences my family has had in the past. Cheaply made, and often the go to appliances installed in manufactured and new homes. Had a service technician come out after speaking with GE on the phone and they assured me it was cost free. After the technician came out and told me I was being billed $105 for the call, and it would cost an additional $255 to fix the washing machine. The tech was not very friendly or helpful, and his only concern was collecting the bill. Avoid these products!

Almost 2 years ago and right from the start this dishwasher did not clean. Numerous times they had people come out and supposedly fixed it. Ive had different suggestions as to what to do. 1. Turn on the hot water tap and make sure its hot. 2. Use various different cleaning solutions on top of the dishwasher soap. 3. Use loose detergent.4. Throw at the bottom of the washer. One of the arms keeps falling down. And the last time I was told I could return it and get a deal on a better machine. I am now left with hand washing every item that goes into it unless I want gritty glasses, dishes and silverware. I bought this at Home Depot. I will never buy any products such as this from them nor will I ever buy another GE product.

We purchased a GE JVM6175EFES microwave oven in 2014 and are now on our 4th unit. When cooking food, condensation forms and drips down the wall behind the microwave. GE replaced it with another, but it was a rebuilt unit which when operated caused sparks and smelled of something electronic burning inside. So another unit was ordered and delivered damaged. Now after a year, the 4th unit is once again causing condensation on the back wall. GE has no answer or explanation for this problem and really doesnt seem to care. This is just one of several problems weve had with GE appliances. We also had to go thru 3 refrigerators to get one that was not damaged from the factory. We will be trying to replace the microwave with a different model, but doubt if GE will work with us to get this resolved as their customer service has been no help at all. DO NOT BUY GE appliances.

I purchased a newly built home which had all GE appliances in the kitchen. After 2 years and 5 months, the microwave no longer heats the food. I had a 3rd party appliance repairman come to do a diagnostic evaluation. He informed me that the magnetron has gone bad. To have this repaired would be the same price as purchasing a new microwave. He also informed me that the magnetron should never go bad in such a short amount of time. I contact GE and my warranty was for 2 year so the best they can offer is a $75 good will certificate. What this means is I have to purchase a new microwave and send in proof of purchase and in 4-8 week, GE will send me a $75 rebate check.I am disappointed in the GE product. Their products are now made in Asia (my microwave says made in Malaysia) for cheap labor and the quality has gone down. What is worse is that they do not stand by their product. The fact that something as serious as the magnetron went out in less than 3 years is a red flag that it was not assembled correctly. The microwave is listed at over $500. I would have been happy with GE even paying half but $75 will not even cover the cost for shipping and installation. I am very disappointed.

We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. July 4th, 2010 - GE Profile Dishwasher, Model: PDW9200N00BB, Dishwasher had been humming after cycle was over for a little while, this night I walk into the kitchen late and find it full of smoke. Circuit board has a hole burned though it and wiring harness is melted. Never tripped any safety, could close the door and it would come right back on, smoke and all. This model was not on the recall list but I called GE anyway. After describing the fire they send someone out, then they send a new dishwasher out and install it. I assume they wanted the old one to look over or just to get rid of it. New washer installed the end of July 2010, new model number PDWT500R10BB. Today is 2012-02-02 and the new machine would not stop at end of cycle (Got down to 1 minute and stay there for at least 20 minutes before we turned it off). This machine is now making the continuous hum after the cycle stops that the old one did before it caught on fire.Called GE, they said they could maybe go half on parts and service until they checked where I was located. (Wichita, KS. Area population 500,000+) They said that they didnt send factory techs to my area and I would need to contact a local repair service. I pointed out that they had a factory guy for when my machine was on fire and they said it was just a malfunction now, so they could not. No half on the price for repair either at this point. This is a $1100 to $1200 dishwasher with, as near as I can tell from complaints online, a history of going up in flames. I understand things break etc, but when you continue to put out products like this and then refuse to remedy the problem, I and anyone who will listened to me will never own anything GE again.

Worst dishwasher ever. No matter all tried it just does NOT get all off dishes. Have to hand wash too! IS just not made to do the job. Just relying on GE reputation of the past! Made a mistake believing General Electric hype advertising. SAD.

Microwave fan just stopped working. Dishwasher wont dry dishes. Also, cloudy water drooling down door when you open it. If you set it on heavy or normal, it runs forever. This is horrible for a year old product. They were acting up before then. Busy schedule kept us from reacting. Looks brand new, works like its 20 years old. Help.

I remodeled my house 5 years ago and went with the GE Profile appliances in my kitchen. Last week I had run the dish washer cycle and noticed the soap had not dissolved and the dishes didnt seem to be clean so I ran the cycle again. I started it at about 8 pm and we went to bed not thinking any more about it. About 1 am I awoke to a horrible plastic burning smell. I checked through the whole house and could not find where it was coming from until I entered the kitchen. As I entered the room my eyes started streaming from the burn. I opened the dishwasher and smoke starting bellowing out of it. Not just smoke but a toxic smoke filled the room. The inside of the dishwasher was so hot and everything plastic inside was melted. The bottom drawer and parts of the dishwasher were also melted. The silverware tray full of silverware was all melted together. This all occurred in a matter of 5 hours. Had I not woke up when I did, who knows if we would have woke up.The house was full of toxic smoke that did not trigger the smoke detectors. We just went ahead and purchased a new dishwasher and had it installed yesterday. This morning my husband decided to do a little research on this product and found there was a recall last year. I contacted GE and found that our model was not part of the recall because it has a stainless steel interior, only the plastic interiors are part of the recall. I also found out that had we called them and had them send out a certified GE technician look at it, they would replace it. Too late it has already been replaced and sent to the recycle center. I did take pictures and have record of the model and serial number which doesnt matter. I just want to get it out there that this product is also dangerous and a fire hazard. This product could have easily caused a fire in my home. I also wish I would have done more research before we replaced it. Our new dishwasher is a GE Profile...

Purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM stainless steel dishwasher in December 2013
Purchased the Maytag MDB7749SBM stainless steel dishwasher in December 2013. The dishwasher and install totaled $700, which for that price and with Maytags past reputation, I wrongly assumed that the dishwasher would last a long time. In May 2016, slightly over 2 years, the dishwasher started having issues with the control panel. The control lock would randomly activate. I would have to reset the circuit breaker daily, leaving it off for around 10 minutes. Even with trying to go through all the steps to resolve the issue, resetting it from the circuit breaker, sequence on the control panel, the dishwasher wouldnt work. I called Maytag and after 40 minutes on hold, they finally answered. They wanted $89 for a service call and for the $143 part, plus labor. Might as well just replace it with another brand like GE, or Samsung.

Its a over the range model & came with a house purchase. It’s worked flawlessly for over 5 years now - even after being left with no air conditioning in FL for months on end. The only thing I could think to make it better is making it easier to choose longer length cook times. Button for half min & dial for all the rest can be irritating for your 16 min food.

Have a GE dishwasher put into operation June 2016 (new home). In Oct 2016 we noticed a leak and a serviceman came out and identified a loose soap dispenser - tightened it. Next time we used it, leaked as before. Same serviceman came again, this time replaced both the main seal & spinning water distribution wand assembly. Again, the unit leaked and on Dec 14th same serviceman replaced the soap dispenser. Before he got too far down the road, we called as the unit again leaked. He blamed it on excessive soap suds - which he removed manually. Following his departure, we again experienced a leak. Same serviceman returned on Dec 15th. After review, he advised us the DW would be replaced and we should get a call within 48 hrs to arrange. On Dec 17th (still no followup from GE) the DW leaked again - we video this time. On Dec 19th called customer relations and after much discussion it was apparent GE has NO CLUE what the heck they are doing. ONE MORE repair trip was scheduled - this time they would replace the inside and outside panel! We are fortunate to be retired otherwise this repair process would have cost us about $2000 so far! How idiotic is GE?? How much have they spent to avoid replacing this unit? Believe me this is the LAST GE appliance we buy from them. Dont know how they stay in business. We are awaiting the panel repair guy as of this writing. Will update once this service has been completed.

GE DE68 00307A microwave was bought in June of 2011. Last weekend, August 25, I was heating water and the microwave started smoking and then failed. The entire apartment was filled with chemical smelling smoke. I have a parrot and had to get her out immediately as this type of smoke is highly toxic. I had to keep her out all night long.

I purchased 5 new GE Appliances delivered June 1, 2014. Within the first 2 weeks, the dishwasher wouldnt drain and had the repairman out to fix it. Within the next 2 weeks, the door wouldnt stay closed and had the repairman come. He took the rubber off around the door so that the door would close and said he was not familiar with GE dishwashers and would go to showroom and look at it and come back. I said as long as I dont have a flood. He assured me that the water only fills up so far and would not leak. Within the next 2 weeks, I was downstairs and heard water running and it was pouring through the ceiling. I ran upstairs and very hot water was all over my kitchen and pouring through the floor into the basement. The unit malfunctioned and wouldnt shut off. I had to shut off the water to the DW and run to the electrical panel to shut off power. I then had to call insurance to get a restoration company to dry out and fix my house. I phoned Arkona Appliances to let them know and they gave me a toll free number to call for GE. The toll free number when you call you are on hold for at least an hour to talk to a receptionist which puts you on to someones voicemail. I was on hold for one hour the first time and one hour and eleven minutes the second time and begged to get a direct line for future calls. Reluctantly, the receptionist gave it to me. The technician had to come out and assess the dishwasher and said I needed a new dishwasher and sent the report in Friday, August 1. Because of the long weekend, I waited to call until Wednesday and they said they didnt receive the report. She asked me whether it was emailed or faxed - how would I know. Then she found the report and said I would get a new dishwasher Wednesday, Aug 13 or the 20th. Still havent heard anything. If received next week, it will have been 5 weeks from the time of the flood I have been washing dishes by hand. Awful customer service from retailer as well as GE. Problems dont go away they just get worse. Initially upset - NOW I AM FURIOUS!!!

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. I had broken dishwashers sitting in my living room for a month. Easter was quite embarrassing with an appliance next to the table to say the least. DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES!!!
