She refused to tell me what the code meant, and instantly wanted to charge me for tech visit. I hung up. Then I googled it, and found out right away that it meant the start was paused/delayed for 1 hour. I had hit the delay button by mistake. This was not specified in the manual under Delay Start, nor was customer support trained or willing to provide the answer to such a simple question. GE Support is just a Scam.

Dishwasher is 3 months old and today is the first time it has worked! GE has sent repair techs 3 times and finally today the unit was temporarily repaired with electrical tape attached to the brand new door latch. The door latch is cheap plastic and has a manufacturer design defect of being too small to properly engage the unit when the door closes, thus not allowing the cycles to start just a series of beeps. No other manufacturer uses a cheap plastic door latch designed like this but GE! Piece of crap, dont buy it!

My life partner/bf moved into a semi flipped 10 yr old home. Every single appliance required to be replaced, everything from refrigerator, stove/oven, to dishwasher. We researched every appliance we purchased, a lot of time and effort along with reviews from various reputable reviewers, pointed us to the GE GDT DISHWASHER. Who can go wrong with three tier washing amongst jetted water bottle washers? After a 1 1/2 yrs in the top spinner completely separated from its housing. We googled the problem, GE said it was a faulty design, yet no recall. The door lock began to fail, googled the repair fix, another fault design, yet again no recall. Upper plastic door trim broke in half, solution, replace the entire console. Guess what? My solution here on out is to not buy GE products. If two years is all you get with a GE product, I am out! Done with your products that once lasted 10 to 15 years. The fact that have to research another DISHWASHER, absolutely pisses me off. I dare you GE to win me back!

Im very upset with my self for not doing the proper research on this product. I cant imagine a dishwasher being worse than this one. From day one, it never cleaned; half the dishes are always dirty. Some soaps work better than others. Still dirty dishes. We paid nearly $1000 for this machine, and once again, it has backed up. I will do my research next time. Their service department tried to tell me it was because it needed to be cleaned. GE never again! I have a busy family, and there is nothing more frustrating than having a dishwasher and not being able to use it.

I cannot imagine why any manufacturer would use a product in a dishwasher that STINKS. The plastic even has a warning for California consumers, that its a cancer-causing substance. I purchased a new GE over the oven microwave to replace a 10-year old Spacemaker unit. After three weeks of use with no issues, the unit overheated excessively during a normal use. The heat was so intense that the pegs that hold the racks melted causing a severe burn on my sons thumb. I unplugged the unit fearing further injuries and/or fire. Are GE products manufactured poorly or did I get a lemon? Who knows? Anyone else have a similar issue? I am still waiting for GE to respond.

We purchased our GE Cafe stainless steel dishwasher in May of 2012. Periodically, it leaks around the bottom of the door. I have to put a plastic container on the floor to catch the water. This is bad enough and very disappointing, but the next and most important issue I have with it is the fact that it doesnt clean properly. I always, each and every load, rewash 3 to 4 items. The stainless handles also get very hot to the touch, which isnt very safe for a toddler. If I had the strength, Id pick it up and throw it out the back door. A dishwasher is designed to do one thing, wash dishes; its not a difficult concept. It is supposed to make life easier, not harder.

Model JVM1740DP1BB - GE Microwave - complaining since November 2014. Great microwave UNTIL the inside ceiling bubbled and began to flake off in various locations. A service tech that visited our home advised us to call GE and advise them of a potentially hazardous situation. The GE rep offered to sell us a new microwave but only stated that we were out of warranty, although this is clearly a manufacturers defect! She proceeded to tell us the lining was perfectly safe but maybe we shouldnt operate it. I have written GE management to see if they will assist in replacing the defective unit; GE is the reason we purchased it to begin with (but it may be the reason never to purchase one again).

Bought our GE Microwave (DVM1850DMWW) from Home Depot about 5-6 years ago. I can see a unit just failing; but to start burning, smoking and smelling is non-excusable. We were lucky enough to be in the kitchen at the time and catch the problem before it escalated. While the unit was just ok while it worked, potentially burning down our kitchen is inexcusable regardless of age. Time for a range hood and a small countertop model. A non-GE model.

We purchased a new home in 2014 with all new GE appliances. The dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes. I have to wash the dishes before I load them in the dishwasher. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. GE needs to recall this dishwasher.

The little trap door which releases soap stopped opening when the GE top-of-the-line Profile dishwasher was one week past its warranty. Because of the design, all kinds of crud collects under the hinged door, meaning there is ALWAYS an odor unless we get down, hands and knees, to scrub it out. Features are fine -- as long as they work. Having a dishwasher that doesnt even dispense soap and cleanser isnt worth much, limiting us to the automatic feed with shine liquid. Stainless steel outside is impossible to keep clean. There are streaks and blotches within minutes of polishing with Sheela Shine. Suspect it has something to do with the humidity where we live, but it shouldnt happen. I find it strange that GE is perpetually sending me warranty extension offers for my refrigerator (which never fails), but nary an offer for the dishwasher or microwave/convection oven in the Profile line which have each needed repairs twice in the three years since purchase.

Online Problem shows indoor sensors interlocks not adjusted properly. Troubleshoot fee minimum $99 with parts estimate $250.00. We have been limping along for two months with frequent trips to basement resetting breaker, now the breaker trips when activated. Same thing happens on multiple circuits, via extension cord trial. I just renovated my kitchen and purchased all new appliances. I had stopped buying anything GE because of the poor customer service and inferior appliances. After more than 25 years I thought I would give GE a second chance. What a mistake. My new microwave clunks every time the dish inside spins. GE sent out a repairman who said he fixed it. As soon as he walked out the door, I realized it was never fixed correctly. After waiting on hold with GE for over 45 minutes today, I was told that they will send another repairman out. If he finds it isnt repairable then he will send that info back to GE who will try and figure out how to fix it. If it cant be fixed then I will get a new microwave. It is a new microwave that was defective. I dont want this microwave because it has been defective since day one. I purchased my appliances from a local family owned store. GE has a policy that they (GE), are responsible for repairs for the first year and then the company I purchased the appliances from will do any future repairs. I will never buy another appliance from GE. They still have the worst customer service. Ridiculous how terribly they stand behind their appliances.

I purchased my machine in 2019. The only concern I have with this machine is that I’m never sure of the amount of water that fills the tub with some features that I’m not used to. The tub on this machine enables me to wash very large loads including my queen size quilt. After washing, my clothes are practically dried which cuts down on my electric bill for the dryer. The drain and spin feature allows for a drier finish. Everything else is good. As long as you’re using the right soap the clothes are the cleanest.

I bought the Cafe dishwasher model #CDT855P2NS1, for $995, it arrived defective with the wrong size parts inside causing the door to not shut properly (as inspected by GE repairman). This was over 4 months ago. Since then I have been told to call every two weeks to see when a replacement model would be available in the warehouse (each of this calls required sitting on hold for over an hour). Despite having many of this model dishwasher for sale on the GE website, I have been told for over four months to call back in two weeks, because none are available at the warehouse and this is the only place you can source them from. Now I am being offered the price I paid for the dishwasher despite the exact replacement now costing $1,277, from the same place as the previous one was ordered from. This doesn’t include the $149 to install the new dishwasher to replace the defective one that was initially installed, which I am being told will not be reimbursed. I just want to warn everyone about not purchasing this product or expecting any support from GE.

We bought this GE Dishwasher through JC Penney with a 3 yr extended warranty in Dec 2017 thank goodness. I am on my 3 round of having the mother board and the heater replaced since I got this machine. This last tech came as a 2nd opinion for my claim that this machine has not worked more than it works. All we would do is load the machine, go to turn it on and out it goes. The warranty people sent out a GE Tech who ordered a new board and fuser kit and came to put it in. Same issue, he said it was my hard wiring and I should have a electrician look at it. 200.00 later not the hard wiring. It is a pin hole in the heater coil that this last tech found. Dishwasher Disaster SR# TD729818B M# CDT765SSF1SS - Please, Please, Please, help me to come up with a solution with the issues that have plagued me and my family since we purchased the dishwasher referenced below in the numerous e-mails and electronic correspondence! As I write this E-mail, the GE Assigned warranty repairman has the dishwasher in question torn apart and disassembled for the 3rd time in the last month and half (Please see included photos). A repair I was told was only going to be minutes to conduct has now lasted over 3 hours and caused me to miss a very important appointment. That time frame will go at least another hour if the repair is even possible? Not to mention that a dishwasher that has been used less than 25 times has once again been torn apart and reassembled. I dont care how well built they are, this in my mind affects their performance! The repairman from JK Appliance has spent at least 12 man hours of repair time on the dishwasher, made a half dozen calls to your tech support (check your records), and has never spent less than 4hrs here on a visit. Once again, I have to be here for those visits (time out of my day) plus the stress of watching a brand new $1600.00 dishwasher dismantled time after time! At what point does G.E. make a decision that the amount of money being spent to repair a defective machine is not worth it?? I have to believe that 12hrs of repair time plus an hour of travel time for three separate visits each way, has already added up to the price of a new/replacement dishwasher? The other two G.E. appliances (microwave/Gas Stove) purchased with our remodel last year have performed flawlessly and we are happy with them. However, the trouble with the dishwasher has soured us on ever considering G.E. again! I plan on sending this E-mail and attachments to every consumer/watchdog group (Consumer Affairs) that Im aware of and to the store (Lowes- Farmington N.M) that the appliance was purchased at. This is not meant to be a threat, Im just at my wits end as to how to get to the end of this long tortuous journey that a simple appliance has caused for me and my family. Yes, there are certainly more pressing problems in the world, but right now this is the one that is currently affecting my family and the happiness in our home! Please advise if there is another route that I need to go with this problem including any alternate points of contact (GEs Escalated Issues department). My phone number is ** and maybe a simple personal call of apology from someone at G.E. explaining what my alternatives are would be considered? Thanks for your time and consideration.

It worked fine for a week but now it takes forever to get it to turn on. We try and try but it just beeps and the light flashes. Once we do get it turned on to stops before completing the cycle. If it does run a full cycle the soap dispenser does not dispense the soap. I wish I would have looked at this site before purchasing these GE appliances. Total junk and will NEVER buy anything GE again if I can help it. No responses back from GE and from what I read dont expect much from them. Now we will not be able to match the Slate with another brand and are stuck here.

I purchased a GDF520PGJ dishwasher from Home Depot and it still doesnt work. Home Depot has no return policy and G.E. has been unable to resolve. I have written to GE Appliances Consumer Relations for a replacement but pending another service call. Its unfortunate that there is no recourse with Home Depot as was advised that I need to work with GE for the first year warranty yet my dishwasher hasnt worked for the past month. Buyer beware.

I purchased my GE Microwave about a year and a half ago. It has served me with flying colors till yesterday. To explain, I was boiling a small plastic pan of water for some rice. I have done this many times in the past. In the middle of the cooking cycle I heard a loud bang from the microwave. I stopped the cooking cycle and opened the door. To my surprise the glass turntable had shattered into several pieces. I cleaned out all the broken glass and tested the microwave. It seems to be working perfectly with the exception of the glass turntable. A new one was ordered. No further action is required. This is just an information for GE.

I purchased this GE Profile dishwasher last June, I paid $1,499.00 for it and have had three (3) service calls. The first one said the water is not hot enough, the second one said run the water in sink and get hot before you use the dishwasher. The tech was here again this morning and called in to tech services and was told put plates on the right side of the rack only and the dishes will get clean. Are they kidding me? I called the 800 number for customer service and was told by Dominic (rep in customer service) that they would replace the dishwasher and allow me a 40% discount on a new one because this one is working as designed. It is my understanding that the dishwasher should wash dishes, so that tells me it is not working as designed. I want a new dishwasher, preferably one that washes the dishes and not one that I have to pay an additional 60%. Are you kidding me? This is not right. I have read the reviews on this dishwasher and it seems everyone who purchased the dishwasher I have are having the same problems and it is not working as designed. Please let me know asap when the replacement dishwasher will be delivered. I will not pay an additional 60% for another. It is not right that you would keep making excuses until warranty runs out. I notified you of this problem one month after I purchased it and I have lived with this problem for almost one year and now you tell me that you will give me a discount on a new one. I have already paid for a new dishwasher and that is what I expect in return. Thank you. I expect to hear from you soon.

Ever since I bought this dishwasher in Jan 2014 it hasnt dried properly. Finally had a tech come out and he told me the water wasnt hot enough. How is it energy efficient if I have to raise the heat in my water heater to get the dishes to dry???? Very dissatisfied! My old dishwasher (with plastic lining) dried the dishes with no problem. I had it for 16 years before I had any problems with it. This new one is a problem from the first time I used it. No GE ever again!

Fact no. 1: On 02/25/07, I supplanted a burnt-out 12-year old Kenmore microwave oven. Regretfully, my replacement of choice is a GE JES1456WJ02 unit acquired at Home Depot in Cumberland. At that stage, my spouse was afflicted with an advanced case of Parkinsons disease, and eventually, I had her concerned caregiver reporting having found chips of paint spread on food extracted from the new oven. From that point onward, I established a close watch of the infamous appliance, after confirming that the chipping paint originated from the roof of the GE oven. But I withheld from filing a claim with GE at the time because my wifes health deterioration absorbed all my attention.Fact no. 2: But on 12/12/09, a couple of months after my beloved one passed away, I decided to take the oven to a Home Depot claim department where they immediately agreed to replace the defective unit for another one of similar characteristics. With a sigh of relief, thinking that I had taken care of the problem, my assumption was incorrect.Fact no. 3: Today, 10/28/11 in fact, I discovered chips of paint floating over a plate of soup extracted from the GE oven. I was aghast! I couldnt believe it! Still, further inspection determined that the lousy internal coat of paint is likewise peeling off from this monstrosity appliance manufactured by GE.

Then it lasted one day! Now they are telling me it cant be fixed. Really??? I expect a dishwasher to last longer than 2 years. I also bought a GE microwave that only lasted 2 years. Our GE microwave stopped working after about 7 months of use. Ive never had a microwave break down on me before. Ive owned other brands which Ive used for years, actually lasted over 10 years. The only reason we purchased the GE microwave was because our old microwave was too big in size. I called GE for warranty service and it was very much of a hassle just to make the appointment. I had to call several times because a customer service representative misinformed me. It took a couple days just to set up a service appointment.Ive told the representative that the microwave stopped working and will not power back on again. The representative told me that the fuse probably went out. Something must have blown out. Finally, the appointment was made for about a week later, which was the earliest time available. It is so inconvenient not to have a working microwave even just for a day. Anyhow, the service tech came about two hours late. The scheduled time was for 8am-12 pm. He showed up close to 2pm. A family member was waiting at home all day because of this. Then the service tech told us that he needs to order a part for the microwave and that he will return a week later to repair the microwave.A week later, he didnt show up. No one even called. So I called back GE and found out that the appointment has been postponed! So now, we have been without a microwave for about three weeks. I think this is ridiculous. Im pretty sure that this is a common problem with GE microwaves and they already had an idea why the microwave wasnt working. It doesnt power-up! Now they are telling me that they dont have the part/s in stock? If I had known that we had to invest so much time and go through so much hassle from the get-go, I would have just purchased a new microwave three weeks ago. GE should pay me for all the time Ive wasted!

Figure it out GE! The sixth motor and mode selector for our washer has been reluctantly ordered by a tech this morning. The second motor was installed months after buying the brand new machine. Now, only two months since the fifth motor and mode selector was installed (Dec 2, 2011), the wiring harness is burnt up. The tech recommends replacement of the washer by GE, but only gets push-back from GE. This newest incident included a horrific smell of smoke. I do not trust this machine. I have a wife and child to protect. Think about it - do the math - add your costs for repeated repairs. You do not get to be a company the size of GE by not understanding simple economics. Open your eyes and replace our washer.

First, as a new homeowner blessed with select builder-provided appliances, I never imagined I would be authoring this letter 4 months after closing on the new home. Your friggin’ microwave oven light mechanism truly sucks! I lost the two bulbs a week or so ago and purchased two more at the cost of approximately $10, even though a one-year warranty was stated. That was okay, as I was more interested in fixing the problem versus starting some long-range purchase interest. So, and this is the most aggravating aspect, I have the correct pins and life is ** good, and as I attempt to insert the first, the ** pin breaks off. Okay, so I reflect on the horrific engineering of the mechanism, and I softly” align the second of the two bulbs, and the ** pin breaks off again. ** is my predominant theme tonight. As well, believe me, I am going to inform Taylor-Morrison that their respective selection of your friggin’ lousy pieces of crap is corrupt and misguided. You suck, G.E.! I’m moving forward.

GE brags about employing its own service technicians yet, when I called to schedule an appointment to fix our Advantium 120 microwave (3 years old), they told me that unless I provided proof of purchase to the technician, he would charge me even for parts under warranty such as the magnetron tube. This in spite of the fact that they have all the purchase information at their fingertips, as I reported when we registered our purchase. They even told me our date of purchase, had our address, email address, etc. They dismissed my suggestion that an email from them to me that I could show the technician should suffice. After 3 years and severe family health issues, I have sadly misplaced the proof of purchase, not realizing that registering the appliance for warranty provided no real benefit; not even proof that I didnt steal the thing. I am saddened that a company of the former stature of GE would stoop so low to avoid a legitimate warranty repair.

We purchased our GE dishwasher in September 2014. In December 2014 the dishwasher started to make a loud grinding noise. I contacted GE and a repair man was sent promptly to do the repair. Upon arrival and looking at the dishwasher he advised me that it was the motor. He then stated that he would order the parts and also stated that he did not have the correct tool to remove the motor and has not had one since they have changed the manufacturing process. At this time I am still waiting for the parts and I have contacted GE numerous times to find that the parts were either on back order or had been shipped out. I am still waiting for the parts and the repairs to be done. The estimated date of the parts to arrive is January 29th. At that time I will have been without a dishwasher for a month that I have just purchased.

I received a recall on my original wall oven with microwave unit, and was only going to receive financial help from GE, if I replaced it with the same unit model JTP90. The unit was only 3 years old at the time. I purchased the new model, which cost $1,200.00, and received a check from GE for $600.00 for the recall, which is already a rip off in my opinion. I had the new unit for 14 months, when the microwave stopped working completely, with no power whatsoever. I thought it had blown a fuse. I took it to the repair center, and they tell me the diode, capacitor, and fuse have all failed. $200 later, it can be fixed, but they have no idea why all three went out at the same time. I, however, do know, GE just makes junk! I will never purchase another GE appliance. Just a side note, my 3 year old dishwasher was also recalled, and it was $600 to replace it with the same model. They sent me a check for $300. It sounds like GE has a good thing going. Make a piece of junk and recall it a few years later, and only give the customer half of the cost to replace it, and only if they buy another GE product! Wow!

I purchased this Spacemaker Microwave Oven (HVM1540LP1CS) from Home Depot in Aug. 2010 along with a GE electric range (JB400SPSS). I wanted the appliances to match and they look very nice in our kitchen. Four days ago the microwave stopped working, that is, it comes on and appears to be working but does not heat the food placed in it. After looking on the internet, I found that other consumers have had the same problem and it appears the megatron is the culprit. The microwave was manufactured in March 2010 in Malaysia so it was not an older model that has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere. The cost to repair the microwave will be about $125 which is about half of what I paid for it. I will not repair this microwave just to have it fail in 20 months, General Electric should be ashamed of themselves for selling foreign-made products that do not last more than 2 years. My only hope is that the electric range we purchased does not follow the same course as the microwave, consumers should be aware of these problems before they purchase General Electric products.

I purchased a GE monogram microwave along with all the other brand new appliances when I remodeled my kitchen. Let me be clear when I say I will never buy another GE product again in my life. Not only is the product inferior but the customer service department is run by a group of very inept people that lack basic communication skills. The microwave I purchased needed two repairs within the first five years of purchase. I have a microwave in my office at work that I purchased over 10 years ago and Ive never had an issue with it. Needless to say, it isnt a GE product. Last April the microwave started acting up again and kept turning itself off. We didnt even bother calling GE because like everything else their repairmen are also incompetent. 1-800-Appliance came out and found that the magnetron needed to be replaced and we should just purchase a new appliance. Because our microwave had been installed in a custom made cabinet and the trim kit was still good, we made the mistake of purchasing the same exact microwave from GE for convenience. This was in April of 2014. Right now I am waiting for a GE repairman to come and take a look at it because it is already not working. This is after I spent an hour on the phone with consumer relations. I will never purchase a GE product again.

On 05/20/2014, our GE microwave over the stove unit burst into flames. My wife was using timer and walked away then turned around and heard the microwave fan start (spontaneously). Then she observed flames/smoke reflected in the Microwave window. She observed the interior of the microwave was aflame. The fire was extinguished with a rag & water. The burning items appeared to be plastic/insulation. The fan from the microwave was with the burning insulation on the rotating plate. Had this unit only 14 months during that time the microwave fan would turn itself on for 3 minutes and then turn off all by itself. Happened twice in 14 months. Glad we were at home and were able to extinguish the fire. Called Lennar the builder who put this unit in to take pictures and check electrical. Was told the GE unit was bad to call GE. I know this will be a hassle as others have had this same problem with not so good results.

I have had my GE microwave for over 6 years and the paint is flaking off the inside of the microwave, causing a health and fire hazard. Paint chips in the food and bare metal exposed can cause arching which in turn can be a potential fire hazard. After researching online I have found that this is not a uncommon problem with GE microwaves. Some have had this issue after 1 year. I contacted GE and told them of the problem and that I felt this was a manufactures defect.GE does not feel that this is a defect problem but advised me not to use the microwave any longer. Their solution was to discard this microwave and purchase a new one. I paid almost $300.00 for the original one plus $20.00 for a mounting kit. I was told that GE would offer me a discount on a new one from $339.93 to $319.93 total. This is not much of a offer considering this should be a obvious manufacturers defect. By ordering another I will have the same problem again. GE needs to stand by their products and admit fault.

I recently purchased a GD720SGF2WW Serial #HD744674B GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leak from the bottom of the door. I called for service and when they came the repair man said the door was leaking and there was a repair kit for it so it must be a weak spot in this particular dishwasher, which by the way was not a cheap model and was stainless steel lined. I waited a month for further service and when he finally came he realized he had mistakenly diagnosed the problem and it was a crack in the lining of the door which had gradually gotten bigger as I waited for service. So this NEW dishwasher had been leaking onto my newly installed hardwood floor. By this time I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher and said I wanted a replacement. I was called back and told that they would only repair it, which I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER and it is now Jan 21! I will no longer buy GE products and when I called customer service I was on hold for 20 min and finally hung up which Im sure was their intent.

We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. I recently purchased a GDT696SSFSS Serial #SWGF800933C GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leaking water to the floor from the back wall. I contacted the store that referred me to GE stating that their role ended when we received the dishwasher (long story..). I called GE service and when they came the technician said needs seal mat and offered to repair (the dishwasher has been installed in the garage since the water that comes out flood the kitchen floor and we cant afford having the floor damaged). But I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher (I was told if the problem happen again and damage my floor they will only offer to repair the dishwasher and I have to go to the insurance to repair my floor) or GE and said I wanted my money back. They did not even offered a replacement. It is still a brand new machine, I never use it.

It is so quiet. I have to put my ear to the door to make sure it is running. Its the quietest dishwasher I have ever owned. It is a GE Monogram. I feel it is a little small on the inside capacity but I love how quiet it is.

One needs to be a contortionist to replace the under light bulbs on this microwave. It is a TERRIBLE design. Why werent the sockets placed so that the prong holes could be visible? One has to do a back-bend over the stove top and then the socket holes are still not visible. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE. DONT BUY THE STOVE EITHER. IT IS DANGEROUS. THE KNOBS TURN EASILY AND OPEN THE GAS.

My less than a year old GE microwave stopped working last week. My AT&T phone service died so I had to make repair arrangements online. Guy was here this morning. My microwave’s main board is fried. It does not conform to Repair Guy’s published schematics. Repair Tech could not upload new data to it. Repair guy did order three new parts including a main board. GE told Repair Guy that mainboard delivery ETA UNKNOWN. After three hours here repair tech left and told me to call GE customer care. Believe it or not, two hours on telephone with GE. First you need to talk to a customer service rep that cannot help you. They then determine you need a Customer Advocate. Then they need to input data on your file for the Customer Advocate. Then they need to transfer you to that department. Then you have to get a case number assigned. Then you give someone all the serial numbers and model numbers again. Then the Customer Advocate (CA) takes the call. The CA does not speak English as you and I speak English. After the CA puts me on hold to verify the purchase, then the appointment, then the tech and then the order they actually speak to me. In my case, the mainboard part is not available on CA’s computer. The CA has to electronically contact the parts department to find out if the part is in this universe. If the part can be delivered to my Repair Guy in Jackson, GA within 14 BUSINESS days from the date of the inquiry I have to take the part and wait for repair. In the event the part cannot be delivered in 14 days CA will start a process to get me a new microwave. The parts department has up to 48 hours to respond to the CA. When asked what happens if no response occurs in 48 hours, I was told, That never happens. It is the Christmas Holiday and I anticipated guests. My husband is disabled and his meals are pre-made frozen so I will have to decompose them and heat them on the cooktop. GE could care less about those issues. So after waiting five days for repair I have no working microwave. Someone told me not to replace my GE with a GE, but I did not listen. It is December, holidays, no microwave is an aggravation that I thought paying for a GE product would alleviate. So, on January 2nd I might get an answer. Part possible or new appliance COULD be ordered and delivered by someone sometime.

There was a recall on my fairly new dishwasher. The heater was causing fires. The repairman came and said I had to remove my ceramic tiles in front of the dishwasher for him to pull it out. I called customer service and a Tina offered to reimburse me $200 to have someone remove the tiles and pull the dishwasher out. I paid a handyman $250 in cash to have it done, called GE and they sent a man to fix it. I called again for my $200 and explained their man fixed it. They now wanted a bill from my floor man. I sent the bill and they refused to pay because the bill did not say paid. I called and asked them how their repair person could have fixed it if the floor had not have the tile removed and the dishwasher pulled out for him. I said, Ask your repair person to verify that the tile was removed. The answer was they couldnt ask him. I sent the bill again with a note saying paid in cash, a picture of the floor and a picture of me - a 74-year-old woman with a note saying it was impossible for me to have ripped up the ceramic tile and backer board myself. Again, I got a reply that the receipt that I sent was not acceptable and the case was closed.

I purchased the GE Cafe dishwasher in March 2010. Starting in January 2012, some of the keypad options stopped working. Then in April 2012, the keypad stopped working completely and I could no longer get it to turn on. I did call GE for repair. When the repair person was out to fix it, they said that this model has a design flaw. It was originally designed to sit 1 below the countertop so that the heat could release without shorting out the keypad. However, that would require a person to somehow raise their entire counter or fit the dishwasher below the floor somehow. GE was aware of the problem but decided to ignore the problem. That means that even though my keypad was replaced, the same problem will occur again and again no matter how many times the keypad is replaced. I paid over $1400 for this model, and the labor charges alone cost me $200 for the repair. I think it is absolutely despicable that such a large company has allowed a high-priced, defective product to go out into the market, knowing that a major malfunction will occur out of warranty in such a short period of time.

I love the GE. I bought a GE dual fuel range about 3 years ago when my 6 yr old Frigidaire stove caught fire. Always wanted to cook with gas but have electric oven and broiler. It's also easy to clean the cooktop unlike older gas stoves. Love the big fast boiler eye.

GE is the only manufacturer who still makes an under cabinet size microwave and therefore I use this product. I renovated my kitchen 14 years ago and on my second microwave. It is small, but does do its job, but when I work with a larger microwave I realize how different it is due to its size and less powerful.

GE factory services uses rude, discriminatory, evasive, procrastinating and unethical business practices to limit customers from claiming warranty. We have a non functioning dishwasher which is under warranty. This came as part of the appliance package given to us by the builder (Hallmark Homes) when we bought the house in December 2017. When we contacted GE customer service to let them know that the dishwasher wont work, they gave us a date after 2 weeks for sending their service professional. After 2 weeks, their service professional came in and behaved in an extremely rude and racist manner shouting at the top of his voice for the inconvenience caused to him for coming to repair the appliance. After connecting his computer to the appliance, he said it was fixed and left without even checking if the appliance was working correctly. Even after repeated requests to check the functioning of the device before leaving, he threatened to be physically violent if we still pestered him to stay. After he left, we realized that the dishwasher wasnt fixed when we ran a wash cycle. We again contacted the customer service to let them know that the issue isnt fixed and requested them to expedite things to get it fixed. They said that we will get the next date for a service appointment again after two weeks and there is nothing they could do. After living the nightmare of washing dishes for more than a month, the same service professional came in again and repeating his similar rude, racist, unethical and threatening behavior left without fixing the issue. He said that GE appliance is not owned by GE anymore and hence nobody cared about what happens to the customers. He again passed the buck to the customer service and said I needed to take up this issue with them. In this whole back and fort, we are left devastated without having our dishwasher and living the nightmare for more than a month.

GDF520PGD088 - Never again GE. If you just invested some money in your R and D for the products you sell, maybe I would not be calling you all the time to fix what was broken to begin with. So to sum you up, 600.00 purchase, the day it was deliver and installed, another 200.00 and it still will not work properly??? I found out that there were 2 recalls on this product while sitting in the warehouse for sale, I guess I was lucky. 6 service calls later, still does not work properly and you want continue to charge me service calls for this disastrous dishwasher of 3 years. No I am done and I will share this horrible experience with everyone I know. Buyer of GE product, please beware. Quick to take your money yet irresponsible in standing behind their products.

I am now facing my 5th repair appt about my 2 year old microwave. I have spent nearly $300 on repairs to be told I can purchase a new one for 50% off. Well, $426 plus my $275 I have paid IS A NEW One! 20 hours of me having to be available for service. I did not know the life of this appliance was 2 years. GE complaint number **. This is an unacceptable resolution offered by GE!

Purchased GE Profile dishwasher model PDT750SSF2SS, received three weeks ago. Within 17 days, door developed issue where it would not open fully. GE contacted, company not too responsive, miscue with technician, failure to reschedule, unknown when it will get fixed. Purchased as a complete set (dishwasher, range/oven, refrigerator, microwave). Does not say much about GE quality or service. Would not purchase again.

I bought the dishwasher July 2020. I’ve had 9 service calls and multiple calls to GE and my dishwasher still doesn’t work correctly. It doesn’t wash or dry thoroughly. At one point it wouldn’t even turn on. They came and the wires melted together. It was installed by a professional. Now I’m worried it a fire hazard. I’ve had to leave work early each time. At times they have not shown up when they were supposed to or shown up when they are not supposed to. Every time you call you are on hold for at an hour. When you do get through they pass you on to someone else who doesn’t care or know what to do. Ive been told several times that should I get a new dishwasher after this many calls but I’m told by the service person that is not true. Also if the repair person deems it unrepairable can be replaced. The repair person said that’s not true. Now the its out of warranty and they are trying to charge me for the service call. They offered to sell me a new dishwasher at a discounted price. Unbelievable! I’m at my wits end and I’ve lost faith in GE

I like many other people have had issues with the keypad malfunctioning. The first one shattered the first time I used the microwave, I then replaced it 2 years later and now another 3 years the second one stopped working. GE was rude when I talked to them, said they had no record of my replacement keypads even though I contacted them directly and were offering another for $514. That is no deal, I could get one in the store for that price. Also, the icemaker and water dispenser in my GE Cafe french door refrigerator are constantly malfunctioning, my range keypad does not always work, and the seal around my dishwasher keeps coming off! GE these are not quality products and you do not stand behind them.

We were super excited to get this GE Profile Cafe dishwasher. Minus the brand, it was the exact design/style as the one my dad has which we love! First issue, dont have a name of a dish liquid if you cant use all of them. Cascade apparently makes different detergent styles for the smart dispense. Dishes were ridiculously dirty and the horrible thing is I couldnt find an answer why on GEs site, I had to go to a handyman site. That was about a month and a half ago. Today, I did the dishes and, of course, let it do its thing. I always have the heated dry on by the way. Well, dinner came and I grabbed some dishes out which were screaming hot and I had to use an oven mitt. I didnt think anything of it because sometimes Im a sissy about that. Well, its now 3 hrs later and I get up to the smell of burning plastic. My first thought was that the sippy cup straw fell on the heating unit. I did not, however, expect to open it and see the Tupperware melting, the silverware rack melting and the water bar to be melting to the heating unit and it being so hot that I have to use an oven mitt just to touch the freaking rack. Oh! And by the way, we bought this off Craigslist last year and it was brand new. It still had the casing around it from the store.
