We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

The Viking refrigerator was in the home when we purchased it, and were now on our third fridge. The first one stopped working. I contacted Trail Appliances where it was purchased and they ignored me. So then, I had to contact Viking directly in Quebec, which is Brigade, and they advised me that the fridge was unrepairable. So then, we waited three months and then we got a new one. After that, our second fridge lasted 23 months, and then it started to melt and the housing cracked. So, I phoned Viking again and they sent a service guy out. This took a couple of weeks, which is a joke, because they dont have anybody locally that knows what to do. So, I waited another couple of weeks for those guys who said that the second fridge was also unrepairable. So, all in all, weve waited almost four months without a fridge because there wasnt one available in North America. Then we were away for a couple of months, and now weve come back. We got our third fridge just before we left, and we turned it on when we got home here a couple of weeks back. But this third fridge never shuts off, so theres another problem with it. I havent phoned Viking yet because Im at my wits end with it. The customer service reps were responsive and the fellow thats in charge of their marketing, Daniel, was quite good and does everything in his power, but this issue with the Viking refrigerator is so screwed up that its just unbelievable.

When we bought a house seven years ago, the builder had a Viking range in the house and I fell in love with it. We got flooded in August of last year so we lost everything. In my mind, it was only going to be replaced with either that or Thermador or one of those. So we went back to the store and then I looked online. I also went to their a showroom here in Houston in the gallery area and I fell in love with it again. I bought the exact same open-box range rather than a newer version because it just made sense for me. Its the dual where the ovens are electrical and then the top is gas. I love it. But when it was delivered to me, the knobs were all sticking out and they were not like that at the store. So I don’t know if it was in the process of getting to my house in the delivery process.I called Viking and they called their authorized dealer to come and repair it. They came right away and they told me they would take about a week or two to get in contact with Viking to get this thing fixed. That was right after Thanksgiving and I thought that by Christmas I would have it but I never heard from the folks. It was close to Christmas and I called them but there was no answer. So I texted the tech and he said that they were asking for the serial number and that without it, they won’t really send anything. It was the second or third week of January and I wasn’t at home when it got fixed. I came back home and two of the knobs were still loose. So I called the gentleman again and I had to stay in contact with him for another four weeks before it all got fixed.Their customer service was great and it’s not their fault but its terrible whoever their authorized dealers are. I hope Viking has another authorized dealer because if I ever need that stove to be serviced, I cannot go through that and chase that guy around. It was a very bad experience but I love my range and I love how it cooks. It cooks really fast, it’s very efficient, and the oven cooks evenly.

My husband’s a contractor and Viking was his choice. He had clients that had put them in their homes multiple times and he, for whatever reason, liked them. I’m very happy with the Viking appliances but I wish I could keep the fingerprints off my refrigerator. And I had done without for so long, I’m just so happy with the stovetop I have. Also, I love having the six burners of the gas range. However, there was a complete lack of follow up from our salesperson. It was worse than bad, if that’s possible. We had a horrible fire in October [Novato, CA brush fire, October 2017] and maybe my sales rep somewhat got evacuated for a week from his home. That’s a really bad thing but someone should’ve been there to take care of his clients while he was out. And we didn’t have any kind of customer service prior to that and even after that and there were delays. So I called his boss and they compensated us on something. I will never buy anything from Viking again. I love my appliances but I am sorry that was who I purchased them from.

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

I first heard about Viking Refrigerators at Hahn. Theyre gorgeous, high-quality refrigerators and I like the way theyre made. I like the steel in the doors. I love the my fridge when its working. It has been over a month now and mine hasnt been fixed. We had Viking replace the ice tray. They had to send the whole tray when it was just the round thing in the back. Its made of plastic and if the ice gets jammed, its knocked off. It should have been made of metal. Also, the board went out and it has been on backorder for a month.

I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

I went to SR Appliances and I wanted something more high grade than Samsung, LG or anything like that. Im very familiar with Viking and other brands but Viking stood out better to me in terms of price and value. SR Appliances was great to work with. I bought the range ahead of time. I picked it up and installed it along with my contractor. And then shortly after that, because we were going through some renovation, we didn’t want the range delivered until we were done. But the installation went well. The range is consistent and it cooks great. The BTUs in all the burners work great and cook evenly. I bake a lot and it just performs well. I’ve referred Viking to a couple of other people.

Then, the oven wasn’t heating up properly. I had them come out and look at it, which took a couple of days. Before, the oven would just turn off and they fixed something. However, the oven is still not staying as hot as it’s supposed to be.

Ive known about Viking for years but its always been out of my price range. I was able to find a good deal at Pauls Appliances in Newark so I went for it because it is the best for sure. The dealers there were just great. They were very helpful and was telling me all the great things about Viking, so I chose it. They were very knowledgeable about Viking. I love my refrigerator. I like it when you open the doors, the lights come on slowly. And I also like that it has a separate door that I can program for like wine or something else. It is great and I ever move, I am taking it with me.

Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. Stay away from Viking.

We had a lot of problems with our old refrigerator. It was a nightmare so I didnt want to buy that same band. I wanted an American made refrigerator so I went through a whole lot of options. We owned other Viking appliances so we looked at them at a store. We bought the Viking ref from an appliance store in Minneapolis. They were very nice. They didnt scratch it during the delivery and the delivery guys were very friendly. There were no issues. The Viking ref is not a regular refrigerator. Its built in so it fits a very specific size and it matches the cupboard, so it cant be easily thrown away. You got to fix them. Another thing I really like about it is I installed it myself and bolted it into the wall. They gave me the directions and showed me where and how to bolt it into the wall. It has a lot of nice lighting. My wife noticed that it doesnt get any mold in it because it has an ozone generator so she doesnt have to sit and clean it up. That is the absolute best feature of the Viking ref. The old ref was always moldy and yucky inside and we hated it. There was no egg holder in the door of the Viking ref. They provided a closed egg container where one had to take it up the shelf, open the cover and take an egg out. That was just a pain. So I made really nice trays that sit in my doors. Viking might want to consider doing that because the other company did that. The ice maker tends to run too much ice that it overflows. When you open up the door it dumps the ice out into the cabinet. But that is little bit of a pain compared to my old refrigerator. Its interesting because its the same exact brand of ice maker my old ref uses. They should improve their icemaker because they buy it from the ice maker company. I hope that Viking is better, but I don’t hold that hope. The most important thing will be to determine how long it lasts without giving us any trouble. They were a good company. Were very happy with the refrigeration from Viking.

Viking Range Corporation should have a class action lawsuit. Their ranges have the worst performance in the appliance field. $780 was the last bill to get it up and running. I went through a dealer in a showroom. They suggested Viking and presented it. Since on the day we had it installed, we kept on having issues. We had a cracked hinge which is steel right from the beginning. Right now it’s making a noise when opened. There was also a loose fan inside that was making a noise at the beginning. That would have to be repaired. There was another issue with the bottom drawer, the front door alignment, which is still not perfect. They said it cannot be corrected anymore. If I call directly to Viking, they seemed not very helpful directly. They basically try to avoid any replacement or anything like that because we had a big issue with the first refrigerator, which we had to throw out. That one was brand new that was damaged right at the beginning. This is our second brand-new refrigerator, again with issues. Very pricey too. I have another issue with my stove now, and it’s also Viking. Im not happy. Maybe we just had bad luck, but definitely not buying Viking again. On the other hand, we are very happy with the local service they contracted with. These guys are very responsive and very knowledgeable. They fixed everything pretty much quickly, and were really very courteous. That was a good experience with them. But overall so far, it’s a little bit of a disappointment. We never expected from the beginning to have the service over so many times since it’s brand new. I was actually about to call today again ‘cause there’s another issue. With this price point, buying brand-new appliances are a huge investment for many, many years for me. It’s definitely not worth the price.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

Our Viking refrigerator is fine. I’ve only had it for two months, but I found that I’m having to figure out where to put stuff. It seems small inside. I dont know if I would repurchase another refrigerator like that because of the compartments. If you have very tall things like milk and wine, it really makes it hard. You can take out the other shelves, but then you have no place to put stuff. And this is my first thanksgiving, and I’m really dreading to figure out how I’m gonna put stuff in the refrigerator. I’ve emptied everything out of the little vegetable things to put my dishes in there. Also, I haven’t figured out how to clean the outside of it yet because it seems like I’m always messing with it. Overall, compared to other refrigerators, our Viking is kinda cumbersome to me, but I’ll figure it out.

When we bought this condo, an LLC came in and we completely remodeled it. We had an appliance package that everything in the kitchen is Viking. However, Ive been a little disappointed with some of the Viking products because I know it has got such a good reputation. The Viking refrigerator seems to be building up the ice cubes like you got a pull-out drawer. I really like the style of the double doors on top with the freezer at the bottom, but when I open the door for the freezer all the ice falls out the back of the tray. It was a brand-new kitchen when we got the condo and there was all this frost buildup. Evidently, somebody hadn’t put the shelves in right, so it pushed the door out a little bit. I had a Viking repairman come in and he fixed that and he said a lot of people had this complaint as the tray isn’t tall enough at the back of it. I guess Viking has done something to order a higher back on the ice tray to hold the ice cubes in. He said he ordered it. I had spoken to somebody at Viking and it seemed that the people that remodeled did not register any of the products. I had to get online as well as on the phone to register the products and that was a challenge as well. Im pretty efficient on the product code, yet it took about three days to get all the products registered through the website and for customer service to call me back and tell me, “Don’t put that number in. Leave that letter off.“ Viking customer service and repair was excellent. The customer service was very helpful getting back to me, double checking and calling me back. They were prompt and they were fine. It was just so odd about this logging in the product serial number and stuff and then not having to go through. The refrigerator was just good to average and I really like the bottom freezer. The refrigerator has a feature that has chilled water on it, but that’s something that I had no choice because the refrigerator came with it. Also, the refrigerator doors are not quite sturdy. It seems like when I open the double doors, everything seems to rattle and move around. But Ive never had a double door before since Ive had a KitchenAid with a bottom freezer and a big single door. So, maybe its just the nature of having the double refrigerator doors.

I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

Dishwasher 1: The on-off switch has failed 4 times! The first time was covered under warranty. The exact same problem kept occurring after the warranty expired. It was obviously defective from the beginning. After paying for the repair twice, Viking agreed to cover the part but I had to pay for labor again. Dishwasher 2: Leaked and needed a $350 repair in less than 4 years!I live in a major city and very few service companies service Viking. Appointments take weeks to schedule and parts are not stocked locally. Hence, I have waited up to 6 weeks for repairs by the time they come to diagnose the problem, order the parts and then come back to install. BTW, the Viking customer support people are friendly but are not able/authorized to do anything to accommodate on issues or expedite the process. I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

I got our Viking range at Big Georges Appliance Center in Ann Arbor. It was the only dealer in the area where we could get the Viking and theyre very professional. Theyre not just trying to sell us whatever is there. They were very good about asking me what my needs were and what I was looking for. And they gave me lots of options. I bake and cook so I went with the dual range. Im in heaven. I have never boiled water faster. Cooking takes half the time it did before. And in the 33 years that Ive made pies with my mom, this is the only oven Ive ever made a pie where in the crust did not have to be covered by foil or an aluminum ring. There are also seven different baking modes and Ive used all of them except for one. I love the versatility and the ease of use for the gas top as well. I like having the knobs on the front too cause I hated having to reach over what I was cooking and deal with the knobs at the top or the back. I also like that its very sleek and elegant looking. There are metal knobs and theres no stupid electronic display. Its impressive, it has a well thought out design and easy to clean, too. Im very happy with the way it looks and also with the way it performs. Theres nothing that I would change about it.

We bought a Jenn-Air package. And our Jenn-Air range was leaking gas for several years, and they couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop it from leaking gas. So, I had them take it back and give me a credit. And the store manager recommended Viking as a replacement, and so I went with his recommendation. And that’s how I ended up with Viking. I love my Viking range. However, I feel like the oven takes too long to warm up. It’s a lot slower than the Jenn-Air one was. The Jenn-Air had some neat features that the Viking doesn’t have like it had a timer associated with it. It had a couple of different technological bonuses. But as far as the way it cooks and the way it looks, Viking’s great.

Range is 1 year almost 2 months old. Range comes with a 3 year warranty. 5 year on the porcelain enamel. Called authorized service. Enamel is starting to lift. Oven light flashing. Oven is in repairable for enamel. No signs of foil on bottom of oven. This was the statement on the service ticket. Viking just wants to do a payout instead of replacing the range and not honor their warranty. We do not want a payout. We Just want the manufacturer warranty honored.

Weve had a horrible experience with Vikings customer service. I got a brand-new fridge from them and it came scratched up. I told Viking about it and I sent pictures. But its very hard to show pictures of scratches, and they said they couldnt see the scratches. They sent somebody to fix it and clean the scratches, but they never really came off. A brand-new refrigerator should be perfect, yet it was leaking as well. It was a nonstop leak and everything was wrong with it. It was a lemon. Also, the door broke and wouldnt close, and we needed a new spring in the door. The refrigerator was under warranty, and we had many customer calls and bad experience. Whenever I called in, I sat on hold for half an hour. The contractor came here and said they couldnt fix the refrigerator. So, after 20 visits, we got a new Viking refrigerator. I had a GE before this that was a cheap refrigerator, but then, this was the worst incident Ive ever had. I wish they would make their customer service better. We have all Viking products but wouldnt recommend Viking to anybody. The product does not live up to its name and standard.

I’ve worked in restaurants for a very long time and I came to know about Viking Ranges. I decided to buy one from PC Richards since for a home oven, I wanted something that has more fire and a more professional look. I like it a lot. It’s a very good quality and high-powered oven and I like that the internal temperature is more accurate than most home ovens. I had some issues with the oven turning on and the pilots, but I had it serviced within a few months of buying it. I also had a problem with the little rubber stoppers on the underside of the grates that go over the burners. Those fall off all the time and it’s a hassle because I’m worried about the grate scratching the oven underneath when I take them off to clean and put them back on. But those little rubber things gone missing is probably the biggest issue I’ve had, which is good.

Updated on 12/23/2018: Viking contacted me a few weeks after I posted the below review in May 2017, and asked if they could send a local area authorized Viking repair technician to come out and look at my D-3 Dual-fuel 30 (RDSCD2305BIB), which I agreed to. The tech came out not long after, I explained all the problems and prior two service repairs by the store I purchased through (Abt), showed him pictures of a pizza I cooked (I included photos with original review), the bottom was still pale and not cooked, the top was almost burnt. He assessed the oven, made a phone call and determined what parts needed to be replaced, including part for the burners, which spontaneously adjust the flames on occasion. He put the order in, but was not completely sure this would fix the problems. I waited several weeks until parts came in and technician came back.I was hopeful on this 3rd time fixing on an expensive oven, but to no avail. The oven temperatures are still not regulating correctly, they dont hold or get too hot, takes far too long to heat up, and still doesnt cook/bake food properly. My most recent baking fail was a homemade apple pie I made for Thanksgiving, a pie Ive made many times in many ovens with no issues. I followed my normal process, but within the first 20 minutes the top crust was starting to burn, so I covered with foil and kept baking because the rest and bottom still needing more time. When it was time to take out, it was a disaster, it wasnt an apple pie, it had cooked it into an APPLESAUCE pie! Ive never had this happen before, there was nothing salvageable and ended up in the garbage. This range is terrible and a complete waste of money, Im so disappointed since Viking used to be a quality brand, in hindsight I wish I had bought something different, Im glad I didnt buy Viking for my other appliances. Everyone I tell whats been happening says Viking should have replaced with a new unit by now.I will say again, I will never buy another Viking product again or recommend. I feel that I have been patient and trying to work through these problems, I enjoy cooking and baking, but not with this oven, its too frustrating and irritating, but I cant justify spending money to buy a new, different oven.Original Review: I did a kitchen gut renovation in 2013 with all new appliances. I wanted to do a dual-fuel because I read those were better for cooking. I researched a lot of options. At the time when I was shopping in 2012, the Viking D3 was still kind of new, but I didnt see any negative reviews and I always had heard Viking was a good brand. I proceeded to purchase the D3 dual-fuel 30 range in a color that is no longer an option and matching hood to coordinate with a color scheme in my kitchen (pop of color) and I dont like stainless, the range was $3400 and the hood $2000. The reputable company I ordered this through and who did the install, had a tech come out to make sure the ventilation parts were installed correctly on the hood, all was good. The range and hood were installed in 2013 and all seemed fine. Not long after, I was cooking something in the oven and the bottom was not cooked properly. I later cooked some pizzas, all them came out with the underside almost raw (pale colored too), but the top cooked fine. I called the company who I ordered through, technician came out and said the Molex(?) part had not been connected at the warehouse. It was still covered under warranty. Keep cooking things and still the same issues. I cooked a pizza once directly on the bottom rack, the underside should have been almost charred, but it was mostly uncooked, the topside was almost burnt (pictures shown).Called again (May 2015) and said it must be something with the cooking element and will order a new part, of which they called me back to say Viking told them the part would not be available until August, 3 months?! I felt that was unacceptable and emailed Viking directly telling them it was ridiculous I had to wait that long for a part when given how much I spent on this range and it doesnt cook properly, Viking rep apologized and shortly thereafter the part arrived in about 2-3 weeks.I also in this time experienced an issue with the vent hood, I was cooking something that kicked up smoke, I turned on the hood and the smoke curled around the hood not into it, I ended up having to open windows to air out kitchen. The technician came out, installed the new part, I told him about the vent hood, said all looked hooked up correctly and I told him what we had to do before installation, he subsequently called Viking who had no answers for him.So the new part was installed and it has made no difference at all. I have a separate temperature gauge for the oven and it never heats to the proper temperature, food doesnt cook properly, I have to monitor it closely. I have to heat the oven at least 30 minutes or more and theres no indicator of when its ready, the blue light on the front is useless except to tell me the oven is on. Once I was cooking something that needed to be cooked at 450(F), after 30 minutes I opened the oven and the gauge said it was over 525-degrees. The gas burners are average, they never seem to be at the correct level according to the dial, and the flames adjust themselves at times. I havent even tried the broil or convection options, too concerned what might happen. It has been extremely frustrating and not pleasurable cooking with this range as its so unpredictable, doesnt cook/bake foods properly. Ive spent all this money for something that looks pretty, and a total waste of $, I truly regret buying it and would never buy another Viking product or recommend it to others. People come into my kitchen and say what a pretty oven and cool color, which I tell them yes its pretty, but its a piece of crap. My other appliances (Whirlpool and GE) have been working great since I bought them through same vendor, no servicing since buying in 2013. I had better cooking experiences on my old, cheap all electric oven, even the cheap one before that, which was 20 years old. Of course the Viking range is out of warranty now and Im stuck with this hunk of junk and based on what Ive heard of Viking customer service and reviews, I dont expect them to be much help. They should replace it. I see they are still selling these models, but are just calling it the Series 3. I cant justify spending the money buying a new range and hood. Its an oven, it shouldnt be that complicated to manufacture something that works properly for that kind of money.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. The appliance company insists that there’s nothing wrong with the hinges, and Viking has done absolutely nothing to help. I am now ready to replace a stove that should’ve lasted my lifetime. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased a full set of Viking appliances. They were installed in early November 2016. Shortly after install our wall oven started getting an F3 error (totally out of commission). We called Viking and waited more than a week for a response. Once I spoke with the repairman, he said, Im not sure why Viking provided you with my contact info. I dont support your area. Were on the Eastside of Seattle in between 7 large metropolitan areas. This happened two more times before we actually got connected with a repair company that supported Viking and our area. The repair company came out, and had to order two parts. The parts took more than 2 weeks to order so consequently we had no oven for the holidays. Two weeks after the parts were installed, the same issue (error code F3) happened again (completely out of commission).Again, called Viking; no response. Called the repair company that helped previously (they are great, btw) and they came out and now ordered the same 2 parts and have to wait until 2/23 for them to be delivered (today is 2/14). I asked Viking about what happens next. They said, they are not sure why Im upset with them... They have to go through this process for the warranty. After they reinstall these parts for a second time and if the error comes back, then they may consider extending our warranty. They may consider? What about replacing the oven for one that actually works? How long are we supposed to live without an oven. They dont care. Moral of the story; dont buy Viking. We purchased a Series 3, 30, gas, self-cleaning range. I installed it about 3 months ago. The first thing I noticed was that the way it was attached to the pallet, caused the unit to slide forward on the pallet. The plant installed an oak rail in the top center of the pallet. The front end of this rail dented the stainless steel front skirt. Its not a bad bend but you will notice that it is no longer straight. Recently after cooking many dinners on it, you cant get a really low flame for simmering on any burner. I never had this problem with my low-end GE.I also have noticed that on occasion the back small burner will not light, and must be tried several times. The most disturbing issue is when any top burner is on, low or medium, and you open the oven door, the flame on the burner want to go out, or does go out then re-lights itself. Not good! Also after cooking on the top stove area, any drops of water that might splash out of a pot, cannot be allowed to dry, next to a hot burner, or a permanent awful looking mark will mar the cooktop. It is not removable. All of these problems should not be attached to a $5000 range.

I always wanted a professional range. I moved to this house and they have a Dacor. But somehow, when the contractor from the home warranty came in to fix it, they screwed up. They messed up with something. The stove is too old so I had to replace it. The home warranty gave me the option to choose from. At that point, when I was going over some information, I found out Viking is a good stove and the price is quite reasonable for the amount that the home warranty was compensating me. I picked it not knowing that I will have this problem periodically. I have a sparkling problem with my stove on the right. When I turn it on, I always have to use the match to light. This is a brand new $1,000 stove and I dont understand why. Also, when I was reading the description, I wasn’t aware that it’s an open stove. Some of the stove, on the top, the water can overflow into the lower shelf all the way to the tray below.I also bought the Viking dishwasher and I found out the instruction book is not very well written. For a long time, when I try to press the button, the red light’s blinking. That means it has not started. And I keep closing it and opening it, and not until many days later, I called Viking. They said it was like a defect. I have to press it once then push it in. I cannot press more than once. But they don’t address that in the instruction book so people don’t know. Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator on a scratch and dent auction at a pretty good deal. They did not promise any warranty and I’m in Iowa so there are no resources for people to look at it. The refrigerator performs very well and it keeps everything cold. However, I dislike that it is very difficult to move around as it is 48-inch wide. We installed it ourselves and it was difficult to do it. It was a big process but we are happy now that it is in. Viking is still based in the United States so, there is very much of the hometown feel connection and I’m still working with someone local. Also, they have invested in hiring people and they are paying Americans to do a job. I appreciated that and it makes me feel like Im coming home when Im talking to them. When I called to follow up and ask questions about the cabinet being built, the technical support was very good. But the person at the parts department was not. Ive worked with him a few different times and he didn’t have technical knowledge of his job. He was very demeaning too. When we were talking about parts I needed to order, I got transferred back to technical then back. I got transferred back again when the numbers were not right. If they could combine their knowledge of the technical with the parts department, it would create a much better and efficient process.

The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.

Purchased one three years ago and are currently on our 7th repair visit. Reached out to customer support and there is none. Our latest issue was with the heat pump. Just melted the wires. Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. No product support, no customer support, how embarrassing.

Ive always heard Viking was the best and Im happy with my Viking fridge. But Ive had to have it serviced a few times already. The fans inside keep freezing up. Ive had to have all the warranty work done twice already and I don’t even think Ive been in this house three years yet. The first time they came out, they had to replace the fans and the second time, all of them were frozen up. But the tech was able to service the fans and got it working again. Im also happy with the customer service that the guy that I bought the appliances from is giving me. He puts me right on top of the list, takes care of me and keeps me up and running again. It is a little bit of a disappointment. I paid almost $18,000 but the guys from Certified Appliance were good.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven abo
I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldn’t go into the defrost cycle. We’ve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because it’s giving him fits and he’s a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, we’re waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.

I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.

Being empty nesters, and retired we rarely use your oven, except for when company comes. So even though it was past the warranty, plus we had a problem at the beginning with the settings of the range, we believe this range is a lemon. They say because we didnt have complaints earlier, its not. Customer service was horrible! Our oven stopped working during roasting our prime ribs, we had to ask neighbors to finish the prime rib and barbecue the other one; the hot dishes that were going to go into the oven after the prime rib was done had to go to other neighbors house. We would call customer service and ask them to return our call, but they never did. So we had to call over and over again. That meal was at Thanksgiving time and we still dont have it repaired yet, and they called saying the part hasnt come in so theyre canceling tomorrows appointment! Right during the holiday season when we like to do a lot of Christmas baking! So its ruining our Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanks a lot Viking! Learn from us, and our experience: never buy a Viking!

We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

My sister had a Viking Refrigerator and I also chose them because my LG broke and I wanted a counter depth refrigerator, basically with the luxury of a high-end refrigerator, but not having a built-in. A built-in will run you $10,000 to $12,000, so I thought it was a good idea to go with the name Viking. It really fits my kitchen as well. The price was on point and I didn’t consider anything else because of it. The quality of the refrigerator is good, so far. It seems to keep my food a lot fresher than my LG did. However, the refrigerator door doesn’t stay all the way down in that lift. It also makes ice so fast that when you pull the door open, ice cubes fall out. It’s not a defect and it’s not such a bad thing, but its not perfect. Nevertheless, I like the handle of the refrigerator because it matches our Wolf oven. Im all about the look and I would tell others to definitely go for Viking Refrigerators. I would also tell them that I could actually go to Costco with the comfort of knowing my food is going to last.

We have all Viking appliances. We have the convection oven, microwave, dishwasher and range. All are great. We had been going to open houses and a lot of the model homes have Viking appliances. I got a Viking refrigerator for the high-end performance and the quality is very good. However, I had gone to an authorized Viking dealer and the people there were not so great. I would not recommend that store ever again. It was just a regular store in Pleasanton. They sold many different high-end brands but we had already chosen Viking so we went in and just said we wanted Viking. The sales guy was fine but once we got to the order phase, the manager of the store dropped the ball and didn’t place the order. They told me it would be two weeks and it ended up being about seven weeks before the appliances arrived. We were under a full kitchen remodel so all the old appliances were gone, and it was the holidays. I had to get involved with the corporate office before they did anything about it. Also, one of the burners on the range isn’t working very well now so I have to call for service on that. Its a six-burner stove and its only a month old. But I hear it’s pretty common with gas burners to do that. Other than that, I would buy a Viking again. I’m pretty satisfied right now.

We purchased all Viking appliances for our custom-built home in May of 2012
We purchased all Viking appliances for our custom-built home in May of 2012. From the beginning, after our refrigerator was delivered on May 24th, we have had nothing but issues... There was a broken cover in the freezer section and a broken cover in the refrigerator. Those items have been replaced, but the main issue which has been an issue from the beginning is the water flow coming from the dispenser. It takes 45 seconds to fill a 16 oz. cup with water - way too long. We have called the techs numerous times re this issue and each one who came told us that this was normal! The last tech was the only one who actually disconnected the water line from the water dispenser line on the fridge and checked/timed the water flow. He also checked to see if there were any kinks in the water line and there was not and we have also replaced the water filter after only having the fridge installed about 2/3 months. That did not make a difference in the flow of water. Is anyone out there having the same issue as we are having and what was done to correct this? Also the ice maker makes ice until it falls out over the side. They also replaced the arm thats supposed to stop ice making when it hits at that level. It does not stop till its literally over the top. Help!

Our house was on fire and we had deadlines on different things to get done. We needed the liquid propane and so instead, we got natural gas and had to do the conversion and had to get reimbursed by the dealer. It was not a pleasant experience. Our house had a Viking Range in it so we had to buy a Viking Range to replace it. However, the dealers were terrible. We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isn’t in stock. They told me, “Oh, yeah. We can get it and we’ll have it in such and such period of time.” Then they wait 24 hours or so and then called me and said, “Oh, I am sorry. We just learned that this is backordered and you’re not gonna get it until hell freezes over.” So I canceled one order with one dealer, then went to another one but they pulled the same stunt on us. 48 Side-by-Side Refrigerator AND VICU165 - 36 wide cooktop - To say Ive been disappointed in Viking products is an understatement. When we began building our house we wanted a great kitchen. We chose Viking professional products. We purchased them about a year or so before we actually installed and moved into our home. Within the first 3 months our water dispenser in the door of the fridge/freezer froze over and completely quit working. We had a repairman come out... it worked for about 3 more months and we have not had water in the door since because we couldnt get anyone out to repair. Within 8 months the drawers in my fridge began cracking... nope, sorry, you have to pay astronomical prices to have those replaced. Within the first 2 years one of the shelves in the door came crashing down when we opened the door. Again, nope, sorry, thats your problem attitude from customer service. Now, our cooktop is horrible. We have the 36 all induction with 6 burners. We NEVER had all 6 working at one time. We call a Viking, get a repairman out... it works for about 2 weeks. Then we are back to 5. Slowly but surely others started going out. We call, we email, we call some more and finally get someone out there. He needs parts. Hes going to order then come back. No, we never hear from him again. We start calling, emailing, calling again. They send another guy out... he needs some parts. Meanwhile, all of this is taking literally years between the calling and emailing. The burners never get fixed. The last time they sent out a repairman, he again did not return. We called again and were greeted with a sorry, your warranty has expired, it will cost you an insane amount to repair. Right now, we are down to 1 burner that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. I will NEVER purchase Viking again nor will I EVER recommend their products. Pitiful customer service.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

We were building a house and we were wanting a bigger range. We started looking around the Austin area which is about 100 miles from where we’re actually located. We went into the store, looking at all the different products. Then we found a company closer to us that carried all the same brands except for one that we were looking at. But that company in Fredericksburg said they’ve had people in this area who requested the same range that we were looking at but the manufacturer doesnt come to service it. So if something happened, we weren’t gonna get service on it and that was one of our things. Then we started looking at Viking and they said that Viking comes out to this area and services the appliances that are messed up. So we got the prices and the features on everything and the representatives told us about everything. That was what made us choose Viking. Besides, Wolf was way too expensive and I couldnt see spending the money to get the same product. The reps were also very helpful. If we had questions or concerns, we called them on the phone and asked them, and they remembered us. So as far as helping us and selling, they were fantastic. One thing I also noticed is that, versus Wolf and Thermador, Viking has all the burner heads in the same size. And I like that. This is something that drives me absolutely nuts – when youre trying to cook somewhere and you have a big burner here, a medium here then a small one here but you gotta cook three large pans. You only really have one burner for it. With Viking, I don’t have to worry about that and that made a huge difference. The range is awesome. The ovens are taking some time to get used to just because they cook faster. But that’s a good thing. We were also kinda regretting that we bought a range this big. But in the first couple of times we’ve used it, we were almost using every single burner and the ovens at the same time. I thought it was a good thing we bought this. In terms of the use, the care and trying to clean it, everything is great as well.

I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.

It needed a little bit of adjustment and thats about it. I also like the fact that it allows to heat up the pots, and the oven heats up really well so its very efficient. The dealer and delivery crew were great. And the service person has been here to look at it for a couple of issues. It was perfect. Overall, I got a good product for the money I paid and the individuals there at Viking really tried to help me when I called them up with an issue. I also have a Viking refrigerator and Ive had to live with two dings in its door for about four weeks. But theyre willing to help me because the doors have to be made and theyre replacing them. I have no problem with that but it is kind of an inconvenience when I spent $5,000 on the refrigerator. Its not cheap.

The fridge is good but the ice maker wasn’t working since day one. The individual ordered the part that wasn’t working and that’s where we’re stuck. He didnt finish the job, and then the pandemic happened. I heard nothing back since.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. The Viking refrigerator is even worse. Egg bin door broken. Deli drawer (big drawer on bottom) broken twice. Have not replaced it yet because it costs over $500 for this plastic piece. Never will I buy Viking again and I tell anyone and everyone not to do so.

I have a friend who is an appliance repairman and he helped me decide what I was gonna purchase for my new kitchen. I had heard of Viking before and he recommended them. I like the look of the stove that I got from them. I also like its quality, which is great. There’s no comparison between my Viking oven and the one that I had in the past, as Ive never had anything of this quality before. The sturdiness of the range is my favorite feature. In addition, the burners are all very accurate and I like the way they burn. I would tell friends to go ahead and buy a Viking range.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

Our Viking range was installed around the end of August to the beginning of September, and its really convenient. We got it for the quality and it has been awesome so far. I just want to have somebody come and tweak it because some of the burners seem to not hold the flame steady. Ive also tested the oven and Im really impressed with how it heats fast and holds the temperature.

My husband is a builder, and he always thought that Viking Ranges are more
My husband is a builder, and he always thought that Viking Ranges are more expensive than others. But the lady at Best Buy called and said they have this floor model line. We were getting a new range, and I love to cook, so I was like, Sure. However, for three weeks I didn’t have a range and it was a big mess. There seems to be a big disconnect on the Best Buy part of Viking. In summary, don’t buy a Viking from Best Buy. It started last September 22nd and it was awful at first. Best Buy would not get someone out here. They didn’t even know they sold us an LP. Apparently Viking misstated it. Best Buy couldn’t say why it didn’t work and then when they figured it out, the sales girl said they were getting someone because they kept telling me its really hard to get a Viking tech. It was out for two weeks. I also had a Best Buy warranty and they told me that it covers Viking. I called the Geek Squad. The day they came, theyre like, We don’t service Viking ranges and I still don’t have a clear answer on that. The manager was supposed to get me whether or not the Best Buy warranty covers Viking and they still don’t have an answer yet. Once the manager got involved, he saw how I upset I was. At first were going to convert the range but they couldnt. The techs involvement helped. He said, Its either buy a Viking LP or gas or you have to take the whole oven apart to convert it.” That ended up being a no-go. That weekend, he got me a loaner and that’s when they said, “Were just going to get you a new range.” Ive been using it and I love it. The front right burner is boils water fast. My least favorite feature though is it doesn’t go real low even on simmer. It still boils. The low setting is not like I put it on and let it go without worrying that its going to burn, which is weird. When the oven stops working that day, Im like. Its coming up to Thanksgiving. What if it stops working? But a girl called me and she must have set up a tech because I got a call from someone and theyre coming.

We own a 5-Series Viking Dual Fuel Range which we purchased approximately slightly more than three years ago. (Largely on the strength of its so-called superior warranty). We are by no means heavy users of this appliance. Recently the electronic control unit failed, and rendered the stove useless with the exception of standard Bake at 350. The Service Dept told us its out of warranty, and the technician wanted a kings ransom to repair out of warranty. After all we read, wed hoped the new ownership would have turned this around, or at least stood behind their product. Neither has happened. This is so disappointing. We have purchased a genuine Pro-style Range with our local Dealers sound advice. This three year old piece of garbage is headed to the dump next week. Dont believe the false hype (we were told by our local Dealer that Viking is fabricating and publishing false endorsements on their own website) and stay away from Viking at ALL COSTS!!!
