I was online looking for a dual-range stove, dual-fuel, and I came across Viking. I know people have them and are very happy with them so I went with them too. The quality was great and I love it. The biggest thing that sold me on the Viking was the burners, just being able to turn them on without having to program anything. That was one of the big features. And I have cats, so they walk on top of the stove. Most stove controls are on top but the quality of the Viking, the BTUs, the way it cooks and everything, it’s great and I really enjoy it. It has been a great experience.

We bought a new house 3 years ago. The house came with all brand new Viking appliances, wonderful we thought... until we actually wanted to use them. We have a microwave, fridge/freezer, 6 burner range oven and dishwasher. Fridge/freezer and microwave have worked fine, so no complaints there.Oven and dishwasher however, are a bit of a disaster. First of all the oven - the gas was coming in too far from the flame, so it would never light properly, or it would light and then go out after a few seconds, just leaving the click click click as it tried to reignite, and the smell of gas everywhere. Called the engineer and he repositioned the pipe so it would work properly (the original issue might have been the problem from installation and not a Viking problem, Im not sure). Then after this visit, the fan in the oven makes a ting ting ting noise knocking against something if we try to use it - as wed had the engineer out for the dishwasher in the middle of this, I couldnt face getting him here again, so we have lived for 3 years without using the fan. Now onto the dishwasher which wasnt working when we moved in (brand new dishwasher), sometimes it would stop mid-cycle, other times it wouldnt go on at all. We had the service engineer out several times. First time he tried resetting everything, then second time he ordered a new electric panel on the front and came back and installed it later, then after that it seemed to work fine. Until yesterday, when the electric heater failed - at least this is the word on the Viking website talking about this very issue on a product recall (which doesnt include our dishwasher). As I sat about 3 feet from the machine, I heard a strange short circuit sound and a pop, seconds later there was smoke coming from the machine (which was running), I grabbed the fire extinguisher and switched everything off. Moved our two babies to another room, and pulled the machine out of the wall with my husband, smelt where it was coming from, and dismantled the thing to find a completely burnt out electric heater and wiring on the bottom. Very dangerous. We now have a semi-dismantled dishwasher in the kitchen and we are trying to get the part replacement - officially this is on a 6-week order lead time. More to come, but 100% sure that I would not purchase Viking again.

Id heard of Vikings reputation and I went with them for the rebates. I’m having a problem with their microwave as the tape over the keypad is bubbling. I contacted Viking and they referred me to another company to come fix it. I was in contact with that company twice and they said, “Can you send us pictures of it so we know what our repairman is looking at?” And I did, but it’s been close to two weeks and I haven’t heard back from them. Nonetheless, Im very happy with the range. I like how the burners are raised, so it makes it easier to clean. It’s expensive, but if you’re going to really indulge in cooking and you want longevity, then it’s worth it.

We bought our Viking 6-burner range used, with very low usage on it. It looked all pretty with the stainless parts, and worked well... for a year or two. After a while, Ive noticed the lack of stainless parts and fasteners where it matters. This thing is just a rust-bucket. We live in an area where steel is not particularly prone to corrosion - the lousy materials are to blame. Rusty, creaky door hinges (maybe that is why our door actually stays closed :-o). Rotting gas oven burner. The pan under the grates has rust-through. On and on. If I thought this was a long-term keeper, Id order a truckload of igniters for the oven, as they go out regularly. If I had to pay someone to work on this, it would be much cheaper to buy something else. Rubbish! Id rather have an old 55-gallon drum and scrap wood than another one of these.

Viking had the best package for me when I looked at all the other options. The team at the dealership was great. I like my range but I already have had to have somebody come out to do a repair on it. Another tech would come out on Friday next week to do a repair on one of the ranges knobs. Needing those repairs have been unfortunate, but other than that, everything has been fine. They were covered under the warranty and it was very simple to get a hold of somebody to set everything up.

Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

I got lucky while shopping for a counter depth refrigerator at Best Buy. It happened that BB had a discount on their Viking 36 French Door Bottom Freezer floor model as they were replacing that model with a newer model. On top of that the floor model had a small dent on the door, so it was further discounted. Im have never owned a high end refrigerator... Its amazing in comparison to my last GE Profile. Good looking design, even down to the control panel. I was concerned about having the bottom freezer and now prefer it over a side by side. The interior LED lights are amazing. Fitting a pizza box on the wide shelving is fantastic. The motor is relatively quiet, a bit noisier when it goes through some sort of cycle every so often for a few minutes.

Viking is very well known and their products are very stylish. I had one before and I decided to get a range from them. I bought it from Elite Appliance and the guy there was very enthusiastic. But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Its really nice.

We purchased a Viking 36 electric oven/gas cooktop at great expense 28 months ago. Since that time, we have two major problems with the failure of the main circuit board. Replacement costs approx. $450-$500 each time. We have been very disappointed with the product and also disappointed with the customer care of the company. I would not recommend the purchase of any Viking product and Im certainly going to tell anyone else considering buying a so-called premium product. Im quite surprised that the company is still in business.

Placed an order for Model RVGR33015BSS from Us Appliance. It was shipped by one carrier and brought to Denver. The order was then moved to another carrier for the trip to Trinidad Colorado. I went to the carrier and picked up the oven (we live in a rural area). Upon inspection of the box for visible damages I found none. I did not open the box. The box was unloaded at my house by me, and we took the oven inside... we noticed the door was open on the oven but when we got into the house we found that the brackets that held the outer door to the inner door were broken and the outer door was hanging by some screws. I notified US Appliance with pictures. They came back and told me that I had damaged the oven and it was my problem. I contacted Viking and my customer rep told me there was not much she could do. I was told because I picked up the stove at the shippers; it was my responsibility. There was no other damage to the stove. One small dent on the bottom of the front kick plate that was not visible. My wife and I decided to go forth and repair the oven ourselves. I had a local welding shop, reweld the brackets on the front door panel, we purchased a new piece of glass and reinstalled the door ourselves. FYI the spot welds that held the brackets on were at best way too small and the welds did not penetrate into the parent metal.I also noticed the oven would not light, so I took the cover plate off and inspected the spark for the oven part found the cover plate was installed incorrectly and the spark was grounding on the frame. I took the cover plate to my shop and increased the size of the hole by 1/2 and repaired the spark boot and it is working better. However I did notice the oven will not light from the convection bake position. I have to start the oven in bake and after it gets hot move it to convection (I think the fan caused a draft).Im disappointed in US alliance and will not do business with them in the future. We love our rebuilt stove. Serial number 111715C10200028. Im giving it two stars because I think the stove may have been damaged at the factory, and the stove could have been packaged better. It was placed on a pallet with flimsy straps. It is possible that the unit was damaged by a shipper but there are no marks on the box indicating a fork from a forklift got into the wrong place.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

For my kitchen renovation, my design company that they use, Fergusons and the chain of them here in the southeast, the only ones they had everything in stock was Viking. And when I purchased the stove, I got a free dishwasher. Headquarters had to call a lot and I had to have people here all the time. They were really concerned. When you open the fridge, the drawer to pull out, which is cold and you can keep cheese and meats in it, I cut my fingers and they were concerned and had headquarters call. And then, the repair people -- everything was free -- coming out all the time from Fort Myers. The guy called it metal burrs that havent been sanded down. That was quite a worry. They called me from Mississippi. Its very rare and it just wasnt finished. And depending where you place your fingers, you could cut them on metal to open that inside drawer. So, that was a bad experience. Also, the freezer didnt shut properly and the tech had come out several times. It was the most finite adjustment on something. But I could have lost a couple of hundred bucks worth of food because the alarm kept going off. And he came and fixed it, and an hour and a half later, the alarm went off again. He thought he fixed it. So, it was really challenging for the Morale in Fort Myers to contract repair people with Viking here in this area. That was maddening. And then, the dishwasher, an extra button for quietness fell right off on the floor, and it was a glue problem. The Morale had to come again. Its free for me under warranty. It just was disconcerting and all the appliances were brand-new. I heard him talk to headquarters and he said, Yes its a glue issue. And he said, No, I cant reuse it. Its covered in labrador fur and cat hair, which as soon as it started to hang out and the labrador would walk against it and it hung down from the bottom. It didnt seem to make much difference in the quietness. Its an incredibly quiet dishwasher anyway. But they had to order a new one, so that took a while, and they had to come back and put that in. That was a surprise, all that happened right away. But everything got fixed and Ive been very pleased since. Its a super quiet dishwasher and I like the red light that shines on the floor that shows when its on.And then, all the new fridges, all brands, the alarm for the freezer and different ways to adjust the temperature of that meat drawer and the freezer. And then, I like the microwave. Its so nice and simple. There were higher-end ones with the convection fan in the microwave, and I got simplest because I picked over the stove with the vent pan under the microwave. The way my kitchen was designed, it seemed the best route rather than a hood. The stove is unbelievable. This induction stove is the best thing in the planet. I heard good things about them and everybody I know whos renovating was getting new appliances, and new stoves are getting induction, and were just in shock about it was the fastest weve ever seen to boil water or cook. So safe, the way the magnetic field isnt hot. The oven is incredibly fast too. Its interesting. You dont have to preheat at all. The fix-it guy is a surprise too. He was fabulous, a longtime veteran and knows all his Vikings, and he was stunned. He was so puzzled about the freezer not closing. He thought of it truly as a challenge, a puzzle he had to solve. Because when he thought he fixed it, just 90 minutes later, it broke again. So truly, puzzled, and worked on the phone a long time with Viking in Mississippi and tried to solve it. It was the most infinitesimal thing, some tiny adjustment of a gear in the bottom drawer of the freeze. One tiny little gear off compared to the other side and it meant it couldnt close completely, and then it couldnt stay cold. That was his first time ever had to have that. Also, the button that fell off, he was also puzzled. We couldnt figure out where it fell off from. Just one day, I was just looking, and Id hardly had the dishwasher, and there it was hanging down the bottom, then it came completely off, and I called him up. When he came, You sure that came from this? He figured out where it was, couldnt save the old one or the new one, and it took a while to come. But ever since, things have been okay.

I cook breakfast on it and I like that when we cook in the oven, we dont feel the heat at all. When we baked in our old oven, it would heat the whole kitchen up. Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. Then they gave me the name of a local appliance or service dealer who could come fix the issue weve had with the installation that wasnt done properly. Ive been happy with the service we received so far.

Installed Viking appliances in our brand new home and it didnt take long for problems to start. The dishwasher model #VD8200SS started leaking and not drying after the first wash. I had the unit serviced twice to finally find out the entire soap dispenser piece needed to be replaced. The unit stopped leaking, but still wont dry. The serviceman was dumbfounded. The unit began smelling and stopped working all together. The service discovered it needed a brand new drain pump. Drain pump installed and turns on, but it still smells and the washer still refuses to dry anything. Double oven model #VED01302TSS now makes humming noise while the unit is off. The serviceman went back out to the house and said it needs a transformer and advised me Viking ovens are pretty much a joke and suggested to not use the self-clean function. He said it only greases up the inside wires and gadgets, and is very expensive to replace after the warranty expires. Out of the 7 Viking appliances I currently have, the stove top and toaster are probably the only two which didnt see a lot of problems with. Dishwashers, stoves, fridge, beverage centers and microwaves - forget it. Viking is simply overpriced and a total joke. Viking, you can pretty much stick it. Ill never buy another Viking product and Ill pass along my experiences with Viking every chance I get. Dont buy this crap!

When our family bought our home we purchased all new Viking kitchen equipment. Double oven, heat warming tray, 2 oversized units, one refrigerators, one freezer, ice machine dishwasher, hood, and 6 burner stove top. Within two years the refrigerator started leaking. We complained to the company we purchased it from and he said it was the seal. They ordered a new one from Viking but what Viking failed to tell them was that the refrigerator we had purchased was one of the first 100 off the assembly line and they had recalled this item. The continuing leakage from the refrigerator ruined our hardwood floors. We finally had a rep come out and look at the refrigerator and believe it or not we got a new one after this continuing over a year. The ice machine in the freezer went bad so he ordered us a new one while he was there. The ice machine that was self standing the board went out after 4 years and it cost almost as much to fix so we threw it out. Now our freezer only freezes halfway. There is a hole in the condensing coil that they can not locate. Now the refrigerator that was replaced the door keeps catching and it will not close properly. The dishwasher would not drop water after 5 years. Could not figure out why it would not and just ended up throwing that away.

Our 36 wide Professional 36 model Viking Range wouldnt hold the correct temperature and required six (yes 6) visits by the repairman to correct the problem. One might suspect that the repairman didnt know what they were doing, but its actually quite the contrary. They started the process by trying to eliminate the most commonly occurring problem(s) first, then moved on to the more complex issues. Bottom line, during the course of the multiple visits, the repairman said that it takes them an average of 4 to 6 visits to get Viking products working properly!!! (If I produced such an inferior product at my company Id have been out of business by now.) One big problem that still needs to be addressed is the obnoxiously noisy fan that Viking provided, to keep the oven cool enough to not melt the mother (control) board. Nothing like a roaring oven fan in the background when youre trying to have a quiet dinner conversation, eh? Personally, Id never buy OR recommend Viking to anyone, as the quality of their product is way beyond mediocre. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the problem were having with our Viking double door refrigerator, where when you close one door, the other pops open!!! Nothing like having quality (and pretty darn expensive) products in the kitchen to come home to every day, eh?

Im not really happy with my Viking Range. Its a bit overrated and its not as good quality as its supposed to be. The pullout grades are cheap and the door doesnt have a great seal to it. Also, Im having trouble with my burners and the range is brand-new. Im a Wolf guy and this doesnt compare to the Wolf range.

We did some research and we were debating between Sub-Zero and Viking. Because of the layout of our kitchen, we couldnt fit a bigger fridge so we decided to go with Viking. Were happy that the freezer is at the bottom, but if an improvement can be made, we feel that the ice maker is not conveniently placed. We have to open the whole freezer to get the ice and theres a lot of cold temperature while were taking the ice out as well as the ice cubes having a tendency to fall off. But its very well-built and it shows high quality compared to other products. Its also backed up by a great warranty. As far as the refrigeration, were so far satisfied and would certainly recommend Viking to other people. We dont have any issues like we had with the range.I was very frustrated with the gas range that we have. I had a bad experience with that way Vikings customer service work. Communication was what really drove everything off. I called and there was a service scheduled, which was supposed to be within a one-week time frame. It turned out that we were without a gas range for almost a month. The people that Viking originally set up a schedule with, apparently, were booked up for over three weeks. So I had to call in and there wasnt a Viking customer service. They called and asked me if I would be okay with sending a different company. I had to call in and follow up what happened and then they scheduled my service with another company.

We like the quality and the features of the Viking range. We worked with a local dealer to purchase one and everything kind of worked as advertised. Weve had our range since November and the quality is very good. I like the way the burners work. However, it is difficult to adjust and calibrate the oven. It seems like the temperature is off on the oven and there’s no information in the instruction book on how to do that. Also, I didnt know that they were gonna change the range. I should have done some more homework as a consumer. The oven is not very deep, too, which is a disappointment. Still, these are just a couple of minor negatives. In general, we’re very pleased with our Viking range.

So, I recently bought a new one at Best Buy and the team there was great. However, my first one was made so much nicer and everything was heavier. They dont make ranges like they used to now, though I would be perfectly satisfied with it if I never had my first one.

Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

OMG do not purchase under any circumstance unless you want to overpay for a dish drying rack. Ive had it 2 years and it has gone down more than 8 times and it take an eternity to get repaired. They use breakable plastic in all stress points, the plastic latch keeps breaking, over and over and over again again again. Each time it breaks its a month of downtime and I hate doing dishes by hand. Been without a working dishwasher for over 4 months in last 2 years. Nightmare. It is a good drying rack after you have hand washed everything. Always breaks during major holidays. Plastic plastic plastic makes this a super unreliable low quality product. Do not buy.

Im enjoying my Viking Refrigerator. It has great lighting. The shelf space has a nice arrangement. Theres a lot of storage on the doors. I was particularly interested in a drawer freezer, and a one door upper unit versus side by side and it fit the bill. I also was interested in customizing the front of the fridge and it was able to accommodate that as well. I had a problem with one of the door shelves, and it was replaced. So that was fine.

The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.

I had a Jenn-Air range but I didn’t like the way it cooked on the gas. A couple of my cousins and family members have Viking ranges and I also researched on them. I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. If I could exchange this, I would get the other one.

Viking sent out the claim to different companies but they had to order the parts. It keeps going around looking for the correct person to call to start with. Apparently, this other company dispatches work to the company in Dallas and they sent in the information but it never got there. I had somebody from one of Vikings vendors come in to look at it and make sure it was operating correctly, and it wasnt completely operating well. They fixed it. I still am not completely satisfied though. The deal was I wanted a different range to begin with, and somehow, this one arrived. I was moving into a new house, so I had to have a range to get a certificate of occupancy. So, I ended up keeping it. But my struggle with it is I can never get the burners to go low enough just to simmer. Im constantly playing with them and its irritating.

I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges forever. I felt that it had everything that I needed at the price point that I could afford. I wanted a Wolf because everybody has a Wolf and raves about it. But I thought that it was out of my price range. I wondered where could I get something of equal quality but without all the bells and whistles, which was why I bought a basic Viking range with no electronics, just the straight goods. We dealt with Trail Appliance and liked them very much. The salesman there had the very same Viking range and was really positive about it. They also offered a free set of pots and pans once you bought your Viking range, but I’ve contacted them twice, and nobody has gotten back to me about it. That bothered me. Other than that, we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The ranges quality is excellent. My favorite thing is how hot it could get and how low it could go without disruption.

We remodeled our kitchen and I got all Viking appliances. We wanted a higher-end brand and I knew Viking was considered in the top-of-the-line tier. It was between Viking and Sub-Zero but Viking had a special – the dishwasher was free. Overall, I’m happy with the quality. There are just a couple of things that bothered me. The fridge had deep scratches in it and we hadn’t made them but I didn’t notice until the 30 or 90 days so they wouldn’t do anything about that. Also, two months into it, the fridge light went out. The freezer light also went out. I was just really worried about what would happen once we were out of warranty. I told them to come and change it right then. They extended the warranty for three months but there have been some issues that cause me to worry. It would give me more peace of mind to have more of a warranty. I wouldve preferred a whole year added onto that. The produce drawers are at the bottom and although I don’t have my drawers overloaded, they can get full and I can see they get off-kilter because there are these weird short tracks that move that the drawers hang on to. So it’s a little bit hard because you gotta take the thing apart to clean it, at least with the way my kitchen is set up. I’m sure there’s a purpose for that but I think it shifts and then my drawer falls. I wouldn’t be surprised if they came up with a slightly different design. On the other hand, there’s a lot that I really love. Everything is a lot more visible with this and one of the reasons I liked the single door was for the big, wide area to put things like a pizza or a party tray. So that really comes in handy. I also like that on the door of the fridge, this one has metal railing, which I like way better than plastic. That’s what my last refrigerator had. I also love the pull-out freezer. I love that there’s a little tray basket top. That did have an issue where it rusted for some reason but they changed it out for me so it’s good. I appreciated that.

We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.

They werent carrying a lot of different things because of inventory issues with COVID. So, we ended up ordering it online through a website called Appliances Connection. We got it within six weeks. So, it was great. Install was seamless. Im pretty happy with the rebate. As far as the range itself, I like that the knob lights up and that I can change the colors on it. I like also the bronze gold colored burners. What I dont like about it is you cant keep the bronze gold color burners looking new. Theyre already discolored. So, thats frustrating. We had a lot of small hiccups because of COVID and because of the supply chain issues. Initially, we purchased our Viking stove through Best Buy. But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service. The Viking is simple to use and theres not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though its rated at 15,000 BTUs, its probably more because its open. Youre getting the airflow better, so its actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. Its easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime. The other issue Ive had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, itd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law whos familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, Im not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

Ive only had my refrigerator for not even a year and it broke four times now and it has taken at least two to three weeks to get it fixed every single time. Nobody at the Viking dealer would pick up the phone, so it was hard to get in touch with somebody. When I finally do, the only way somebody would call me back is if I was rude and talked to the manager at the place that I called. It was a horrible experience. I couldnt be more upset about it. I was told that the door would keep breaking at the part where they fixed it, and that I wont get a new refrigerator. I would trade this refrigerator right now if I could afford to.

An open letter to Viking Range regarding the Viking built in refrigerator.
An open letter to Viking Range regarding the Viking built in refrigerator. I recommend everyone that is fed up with Vikings horrible quality and lack of customer service email the CEO, COO and head of sales. I am writing to you in order to share my deep disappointment with my Viking 36 built in refrigerator. I purchased my refrigerator way back in 2005, when we were remodeling our kitchen. We looked at both Sub-Zero and Viking, and in the end, chose your product because we perceived it to be of higher quality, and were impressed with the fact that it was built right here in the U.S.Over the course of the years, the defrost function stopped working, the ice maker water valve failed, and the door hinge has been serviced 5 times! We received a call informing us that the hinge would need to be replaced once again, but we had the option to spend $4,000 to receive a replacement unit. As a customer who spent nearly $8,000 on a unit that we expected to outlast the remodel, we are shocked to be faced with the choice of either experimenting with yet another hinge, or spending $4,000. We have a 7 year old daughter, and in my mind, having this unit in our home any longer is out of the question, knowing that the hinge issue is still unresolved. We have lost faith in the safety of this refrigerator. I have attempted to work with your customer service team on a resolution, but the only response we receive is that, as long as the unit isnt irreparable they wont replace it. In my mind, this unit is beyond repair, given the countless issues described above, and the safety issues with a minor child in the home.I think it is important as the CEO of Viking that you hear the direct voice of the customer. It is very unsettling that Viking has put us in this position, and has far from lived up to its promise of superior quality.

We bought a Viking Refrigerator on 20th of September. And then, we heard some grinding noise from the compressor. We had a previous refrigerator that failed and it’s giving the same sound. Also, when we got the refrigerator, there was a ding on the top of the door and the people who sold it to us said they’re going to get a replacement door and a replacement shelf that was cracked inside the door. They haven’t done anything yet, and it’s a little bit frustrating spending $3,500 on a refrigerator and then you have to deal with the people who sold it to us, who said they will just bring another one. They didnt even adjust the doors, so the doors arent realigned. In October, I called the main Viking office because I wasn’t getting anywhere with the local dealer. However, it was super hectic during the holidays so I haven’t had time to call back Viking and find out what happened after they took all of our information. We’re supposedly going to send it to someone so they could call us because nothing came up in the system right away for our location. They had to search for someone to service it or come check the unit, and so I just wanted someone to come and replace it because even though we love the fridge, there are so many problems in just within two weeks of having it. Overall, I would definitely tell my friends not to buy from the people who we bought the fridge from. But the unit has a poor design and if I had to do it again, I will not purchase this refrigerator. The spring on one of the doors has a sound and the ice tray was poorly made because on the first week I pulled it out and the handle snapped right off. The magnet of the butter tray on top isnt good and every time I pull the refrigerator, if I have a stick of butter inside, it falls out. Also, compared to a regular KitchenAid, which are the deeper refrigerators, Viking units are more counter depth, so in terms of storage there isn’t a lot of cubic feet in there to use. With my particular model, there are four trays for produce and those trays are much smaller so I can’t really put a lot of stuff in there.I also have the Professional Series for the oven, which is the one with the French door. Even though it’s a beautiful look, it’s really stupid that it’s said to be self-cleaning but because there’s no latch for the French doors, it’s not the same kind of self-cleaning at the lower oven. It’s just like a steam clean kind of effect and stuff like grease doesnt come off. I also already had a problem with our blower on the fan where it was making a lot of noise and I’ve already had a service call on it. So to spend what I totally paid, which is at $25,000 for my entire kitchen, I really shouldn’t be expecting or experiencing problems like these within the first year. These are high-end products, and it’s a professional series, so it’s very disappointing.

We had Sub-Zero in our previous house and we were thinking about buying Sub-Zero again but Viking had a promotion, which was if you bought so many appliances, for every dollar over $10,000 that you spent, you get a 10% rebate. It pushed the cost in our favor so we got their unit. The first fridge that they sent had some damages on it and was making a loud noise. The damages were in the white parts on the inside of the unit, and it was something they could not repair. ApppliancesConnection.com, the place where I bought the unit, asked me to send pictures, and I did all that. Then, they sorted all that to the Viking rep. Viking made me an offer, but it was not a large enough discount to make me want and take it. I told them that if they want to make a more substantial financial offer, I would consider taking the damaged one. However, they never got back to me. I had to chase them down for weeks. I called again and again and they told me that the woman who was working on it doesnt do that anymore. Finally, I was like, “You know what, forget it, I’m not taking the offer. Just come out and replace it.” So they came out and took care of its replacement and the new one they sent has been fantastic. Overall, Im satisfied with my experience. Everything got handled pretty quickly and got fixed. However, if there was any way that Vikings could make a refrigerator that has filtered water, that would be a bonus. That was the only feature that we could not get in the Viking fridge and we really miss having it.

We have to spend so much time and money on fixing it ourselves. Today will be my last attempt to try to make it work. Ive always heard good things about Viking. Several years ago, I heard bad things about them but I decided to give them a chance because they are out of Greenwood and my niece lives there. I chose Viking because it did have a good reputation. Plus, they offered the free dishwasher to come with the range. Building a home, that was an incentive for us. I absolutely love the quality of the range. We lived in military housing for so long and we had an electric stove and all my pots would hit each other. I couldnt wait to get a gas range. My brother said to get a 36-inch and Im so glad that I did because my pots can breathe. They dont touch each other. I love the roominess. Weve used it for about two weeks now and weve been very pleased. They have set off our alarms but thats because we didnt put the hood on. Other than that, it heats up immediately and it puts out just the right amount of heat. I love that it cooks my potato quickly. Its also easy to clean. I do have a sponge that I use to make sure it doesnt scratch because when I inquired one time, you have to be careful not to use something that would be abrasive to scratch it. I like the grates. Theyre very heavy-duty. I do like the knobs too. They are big and easy to turn. I thought it would be cute if they came in different colors but when I called in, they said theres another competitor that is known for certain colors. Ive noticed that the back cooks faster than the front but it performs beautifully. It looks like theyve improved from what had happened a couple of years ago. Theyre trying to get their name back.

We have some friends that have Viking appliances, and they also recommended it. We bought our Viking Range at Best Buy. It was delivered and hooked up. Everything was fine from the beginning and we love it.There was an issue with the stove. There was a knob that was not working correctly, but the company came out. They were referred to us by Viking. They fixed it, and we havent had any issues ever since. The qualities are great. I cook a lot, and I feel like all the items, the fridge and the stove in particular, are very sturdy and heavyweight. They seem to work better than the last stove and refrigerator that we had. My wife and I are very happy.

We were in the market for something above the ordinary so we went and looked at a Viking range at some of the appliance stores and it certainly was. It was really what we wanted. The dealers did everything we could have expected and more. My neighbors came into the house and said, “Ooh.” Everybody’s in awe of it because they’re expensive. But it’s a beautiful appliance. My favorite feature of the range is the convection-cook part. I bake in that so much more even than a convection oven. All the burners are nice and even the burner liner on them. I recommend this appliance. I would do it again and wouldn’t look anywhere else because I love it.

We have an induction range and a microwave. The microwave is not user friendly, I cant read the timer, hate that the control pad is behind the door. It looks sleek but I wish I never bought it. The induction range - the burners barely do anything unless you put the control at Med, Hi or higher. The knobs wiggle and are loose. They sent me new knobs but that didnt fix the problem. The oven seems to work fine, but I would much prefer a digital readout because there is no really accurate control of the temperature.

Bought Viking double oven, cooktop and dishwasher March, 2018. After opening the items, the oven and the dishwasher were damaged. They were heavily damaged with dents so deep that there were holes. After weeks of complaints, numerous talk with customer service rep, I am still nowhere. About a month ago, I was finally granted a replacement for both of them. (Even though the entire time, so, the last 4 months I was told that the parts are arriving). Now, today, Sept, 5, I decided to call and make an official complaint against Viking dept handling my case. A person called TONY, said he could help. After he realized that I want to file a complaint, he started avoiding the issue. I asked for a supervisor and these were his answers: none is available, they are all in a meeting. I could hear laughter in the background. He started mocking me as well. I asked for an email of any supervisor and he said that he is not authorized to give out their emails!!! I still cannot believe the disrespect shown towards a customer. Complete lack of professionalism as well. If I had known that this is going to happen, I would have never bought Viking. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING VIKING RANGE.

We shopped around at several different appliance, some of the appliance showrooms, and I was going back and forth between Sub-Zero, Wolf and Viking. There were pros and cons for all of them but I really liked the Series 5 oven. They have a double oven that’s got a French door on top and that combined with the cooktop that I felt like it was a rugged enough look. I decided to go for a Viking kitchen package because of the oven than it was because of the fridge in particular. But if I put raw strawberries in their fridge the strawberries stay fresher much longer than they did in previous normal refrigerators I had. Before when I put the strawberries in my refrigerator two days later they’d be all shriveling. But with Viking I can put them in there, and a week later, they still look edible. There’s something about the airflow. One of their appliance guy explained to us something about that and it definitely works. But I have to buy an ice scoop because Viking doesn’t make ice dispensers in their fridges, which is fine, because I like the smooth look on the front. But I think that they should probably throw in like a food grade ice scoop because yon’t wanna touch ice cube with your hands. That’s just kinda gross.

Viking has quality products and everybody says that their customer service is good. I got myself a Viking range and we have a problem with the grates. It is peeling. I sent them pictures and it’s taking a really long time to resolve. Viking said they were gonna send me a full set of replacement grates and then they said, “Okay, they’re shipping out.” I didn’t hear anything afterwards so I emailed the person I had been in contact with again and months after we still never got it. They said, “Oh, you have to register your product.” So I registered my product and then I said, “Okay, all registered,” and then I got no follow-up again. I now have to call the parts department so it has now been a three-month runaround. I thought that it was all taken care of on the backend. Its just a little confusing what’s going on with it. But the Viking range is great. I just wanna get the grates thing resolved.

Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldn’t happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. I love the quality of Viking Ranges. My husband had a restaurant before so we had some of their products. We picked it because there’s no electronic stuff. It’s very simple. We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. You can put four pots and pans, big ones at a time, and have enough space to cook without having to move anything. Also, the lady who helped us at the dealer was super nice. Not only did she know what she was talking about when we asked for stuff, she showed us a couple of them. Viking is worth the money that youre spending on it.

I like that the Viking ranges construction and the reports that I’ve seen about it, and being six burners with an extra-large oven made it a perfect match for the kitchen. The craftsmanship of the range that I got is beautiful and everything is enclosed. It has the proper sparkers to hook up the gas and the electric. And the burners are fantastic but Viking really did a great job on the engineering of the simmer. It’s beautiful. And I like that I can take the knobs off and wash them. Theyre metal and looks like they’re gonna be there for a long time.I bought my Viking range through ABT Electronics in Chicago. And the packaging was perfect and it came perfectly protected. Their giveaway, the Viking dishwasher, also helped me with the purchase and further rebates in another order is always a nice thing to have. All in all, the Viking range is a great product. And from what I’ve seen, it is really nicely engineered with all heavy cast iron components and burners, the knobs, and the interior enforcement. I haven’t seen a product that’s like this yet and the simmer is adjustable and its really nice that I can put it up or down. The range sits off the floor, too, so I can sweep underneath.

The Viking range is a little bit different to cook on than a regular range. Things seem to get hotter faster. It’s not that it’s a bad thing. Its just a little bit of a learning curve. I have a little bit of a concern as to how to clean this oven since it’s not a self-cleaning oven. Also, the fan in this range is extremely loud. After I use the oven, it is on for a good hour after I turn the oven off. I had a guy out here and he told me that thats just the way they are. Still, someone should have mentioned that before I bought that big ticket item. But the quality is fine.

Im from Mississippi so its not hard to hear about Viking Ranges here. I wanted to support a homegrown company and I cook a lot and have heard good reviews about it. I also had some friends that had them and enjoyed them. I appreciate the way if I spilled something on the top of the stove or something overflows that has a lid on it, the cleanup on that is not bad. Its pretty easy for me to clean up compared to the last stove combination I had. However, I have not been very pleased. I have a gas top and oven and the gas oven has been very difficult to regulate. It takes forever to heat up, way longer than ever expected for the oven to pre-heat. I have to turn it on a good 30 minutes prior to and sometimes longer. I put my own room thermometer in there because I dont trust the temperature setting. I hate the way the gas comes on and off. Early on, I was having struggles with everything being too dark on the bottom and light on the top. My appliance man said, Youre not waiting long enough to pre-heat. Youre gonna have to wait. Im also frustrated with the oven size. I have a big oven and a little oven side-by-side. The little oven is half an inch to an inch too small. And the big oven, when I try to get something in there like two pans or skillets, they dont fit well either. I cook all the time and I prefer large groups. We have work entertainment that I do all the time. I tried to do two big pork shoulder roasts at the same time. It was in there for hours and difficult to get both of them in there the way the pans were. I wouldve taken an inch out of the big one because its not helping and put the inch in the other one. Theres also the fact that its hard to clean on the inside. Viking makes a big deal about not scratching anything and not using anything harsh on it so Ive been very careful. I have to heat it up just a little bit and then have a wet rag and muscle it to get it off. When I spill something over, grease gets on the aisles of the stove and I havent gotten those off. I cant get those off without having to use something harsher than they recommend. We bought the vent that goes over it and Ive been hugely disappointed in that too. Its really difficult to get the grates out to wash them. I cant talk to anybody if I turn it on since it is obnoxiously loud. I also bought a warming drawer and thats been okay but theres a little spring-like lever that goes on it to make it click into place, and it broke for some reason. The appliance guy said, Well have to order that part. And then he went to order the part and Viking had stopped producing those parts for a while. He worked on getting a part to help with the regulation of the temperature in the oven and called me to come out and put that one in. But I dont think its going to help and I dont see what its going to do. Overall Im dissatisfied and if I could get rid of it, I would. If I hadnt spent so money, I wouldnt be quite as dissatisfied. But when you spend that much money, you expect a lot.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

Our old Viking Refrigerator was unimpressive for the price. It was just an ordinary refrigerator with a Viking label on it. It was eight years old and a particular part broke. We could have fixed the thing for $200 but they discontinued that part and it was not available. They supposedly keep spare parts for 10 years, but I suspect that this part was defective or broke a lot, so they ran out. So our opinion of Viking is not very good.We bought a new refrigerator and it was the only one that fit in the space that we had. It also costs $1,000 more than other virtually identical refrigerators made by the same company. There were also other better refrigerators that are too tall. I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.
