I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.It would be nice if the knobs didn’t stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges don’t all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.

I spent almost $1000 on a Viking Microwave/Convection Oven - this was a terrible mistake. Service techs have been out 6 times repairing fuses etc. The control panel also broke which trips my circuit breakers. A new panel costs around $500. Ridiculous. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy a Viking microwave, especially the ones that go over your stove. They get funked up with so much grease and dont ventilate at all.

Viking is highly ranked. At the time of my purchase, there was also a good deal for getting all Viking. Aside from the discount, they threw in a free dishwasher. I like Vikings ovens. But the quality of the professional stoves is better than the refrigerator. It was made in Mexico and not quite the same as their professional level refrigerators. But its pretty good. I like that the styling was all matching too. The only thing is one of the status lights is out in the refrigerator already. It just happened.

10 years ago we did a remodel of our kitchen and game room after saving up for eight years to pay for it. I convinced my wife to purchase the Viking refrigerator over the Sub Zero which she really wanted. She had purchased a Viking range at our old house which she loved and we moved it to our new home. After it and the new refrigerator were installed I felt that it was perfect and I was proud of the fact that we were able to afford such a nice kitchen. Well soon after we had problems that everyone here has had and more. I have been holding back from blasting Viking on the net for a while. Tonight we came home to see water stains in our game room ceiling, coming from the kitchen upstairs right under the fridge. I followed the water line through the drop ceiling up under the fridge. All good, no water or leaks from the line or connection. Then I notice that the drip pan is MELTED completely and is stuck to the floor like TAR. So if you are reading this and you had over heating/thermostat and coolant leaks and ice buildups and gasket replacements and hinge recalls and numerous service calls. YOU better check your drip pan. Did I mention that I work for a moving company and bash Vikings name everywhere I can. Imagine moving furniture for 8 years to pay for this.

Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.

Weve had problems with every single appliance that weve purchased from Viking. The refrigerator has been making a weird noise. We had the guy come today to look at the noise and he couldnt figure it out. On the stove, two of the back burners would only light up partially and they take 10 seconds to fully light up. The guy looked at that too and cleaned some stuff up. The back burners are working a little bit faster but theyre still on the slow side. When we got our dishwasher, the motherboard was broken and we had to have a brand new one because when we turned it on, it would continuously run. The timer would not count down regardless of what cycle we put it on. Im not fully happy because of all the problems weve been having. But the problems have been addressed and looked at. Im a little worried that the two-year warranty isnt going to cover everything because of what weve already experienced.

My wife had been doing some research on some high-end appliances and we found our Viking refrigerator at Famous Tate appliance store. We liked the performance and cost. It wasnt as much as a Sub-Zero freezer but it was still one of the higher end refrigerators that was reasonably priced at that time. There was also some kind of package deal. We bought a Viking range along with the Viking refrigerator and the Viking dishwasher for free. It was a good deal for the three of them.Overall, were happy with our refrigerator and its pretty good. In particular, the ice maker was great. But it doesnt work anymore. Its been a little over a year and the line keeps freezing up. I had people out to repair it one time but it just went back to the same thing. The dealer wont fix it. Its a pain in the butt because we paid thousands of dollars for a refrigerator and the ice maker doesnt work. It looks nice though. The refrigerator works fine. The lighting is nice in the inside and the control panel works well. Another thing with the dealer is that it seems like nobody knows what anybody else is talking about. But thats a lot of times in any customer service department. You talk with somebody in customer service who authorizes a new filter to be sent out then somebody in the parts department says you have to pay for the filter. Its just kinda running back and forth. It took about two months to get a part that should have been delivered in about 10 days.

I have owned my Viking oven for 13 years. I purchased the oven because of the Viking name and quality. Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. I have contacted 2 companies that have said they would call me with info about repair and neither has returned a call. Disappointed to now have 4 costly repairs on a very expensive appliance.

I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a range based on Vikings reputation. Their appliances quality is good. I like the power burners which is like 15,000 unit burners. However, Vikings customer service stinks. I had a problem with my refrigerator. When it was delivered, I couldn’t use it for two months. I spoke with a customer service rep and it was very hard to get the pieces. I waited for two months. Now it’s finally done, but I must have made 30 or 40 phone calls. I was very unhappy with that.

When I did my home over, I put in two huge Sub-Zeros, two huge, nice Vikings, Viking microwaves and everything. I was very happy except one of my Viking ovens was having issues from the beginning. I ended up having to put a few thousand dollars into it. I almost had a fire issue and it was just time to go. I wanted a new range. My husband said that they’re expensive and he’d get it for me. When it was my birthday, he asked me if I wanted a range or jewelry. I got a Viking range. The first time I turned it on, the convection broiler wasn’t working. Every time I turned the oven on, it sounded like there was a train in the house for two hours while the stuff was cooking. It was just this loud, loud noise. I called right away for service. They sent someone down and he said he was gonna change a part. I told him I was not ready to change any parts. The last time I started changing parts, the oven broke on me. If I bought a refurbished piece, I have no problem for changing parts, but when I bought a brand new piece, I don’t wanna have to start dealing right away with parts that are changing. It was just not fair.He started telling me, “Yeah, whatever.” When they came down again for service, he told me three new parts have to be changed. I called the company where I bought the stove from and told them, I don’t want this range. And if it means paying more and getting a different model, I would like to do that. First they started telling me, “Maybe don’t take a Viking.” I said, “Yeah, but my other appliances are Viking. I want it to match. I’m ready to pay extra to get a higher model. I don’t care, but I don’t want this piece in my home. It’s causing problems. It could cause a fire. I don’t want it.”I could barely walk as I just had a knee replacement. And this is what I’m doing in order to recover. I’m worrying that if the thing goes up in flames, I won’t be able to get out of my house. And altogether, I’m so pissed because this was my gift. I would’ve bought a refurbished piece. I put a brand new piece from day one. I called them before 30 days. I want it out and I want a new piece in my home. Even the people I bought it from at Drimmers said, “We’re calling, and we understand, and we see that you have bought, in the past, Vikings. We understand that you’re not trying anything. Let them take it back.” They were calling for me also and were not getting through to anyone. Vikings didn’t call them back.I called Viking directly. They asked me why was I calling and not the person I bought it from. I said, “Because when they called, you guys told them that there’s nothing you could do. What does that mean, there’s nothing you could do? I bought a brand new piece.” I told them I would like to speak to the manager directly. They said she was not in and someone would call me back within the next 48 hours. I did not receive a call back even. I had to call back again to find out what was going on. Before I purchased my piece now, I would’ve recommended them, and that’s why I was purchasing it again. But right now, I wouldn’t recommend it just because I don’t know if I would want any of my friends to go through what I’m going through now. I’m very, very upset. Im very dissatisfied.

So, they had to do some work in here and it took a couple of weeks to get their tech out here.

Less than five months ago I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. I wanted a reputable brand that would last for years to come. Viking is a name you hear and immediately think high-end. Their appliances fit my style perfectly, simple yet classy-looking, so I took the plunge and ordered myself an entire Viking kitchen, not a cheap decision but my kitchen is MY space, so I splurged. My stainless steel refrigerator (double door on top, pull-out freezer on bottom) has been constant problems for me. Im actually not fond of any of my appliances but the others have been overlooked due to such shockingly poor quality of my refrigerator. First, the ice machine works completely randomly... one day a full tub of ice, the next nothing. Next, in less than three months time a shelving frame has completely cracked all the way through, and there is hardly any weight on it at all. Now, the produce drawers are sagging inwards and I do not trust the shelves in the least. It seems like it is constantly something with the unit. I had hoped to love my new kitchen but now Im so upset that, for the money I spent, I do not have appliances I can be proud to show off.

I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

I was deciding on getting either a Sub-Zero or a Viking refrigerator. But I wanted to get a Viking range so I stuck with Viking all around. Somebody who was an appliance specialist that I had worked with in the past arranged the purchase for me then I had it installed. Unfortunately, the hose underneath it connected to the solenoid leaked and I had some kind of serious floor damage on my wood floor. I left a fan on for three weeks and it finally started to come down a little bit, but I still have something wavy on it. It was quite disappointing because you spend so much money on something like that and you expect it to be perfect. But when I told Viking that I needed someone urgently because the refrigerator was leaking, they sent somebody immediately and that guy got out there that same day which was great. So overall, my experience with Viking was very good and hopefully, the refrigerator will live up to its reputation.

In the kitchen, we have very high-end fixtures so we wanted something that was comparable to the other pieces that we had chosen. Viking has a really good reputation for being high quality and the pieces are pleasing to look at. Weve been using it for a month and everything has been great. The stove works well. The only issue that we had that was disappointing was that the color is different because the dishwasher and the range are placed next to each other. Its very drastic, the difference in color. When I called to let them know about the color difference, the people that I spoke to were very kind. They sent someone out and that rep was very nice. He took pictures. It was a really nice experience. We, very quickly, got a phone call saying they were going to change it, which was a relief. I was worried that they were not going to exchange it and we were gonna be stuck with that drastic color difference. So, I was very happy that they decided to change.

We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. One was a side-by-side and my wife liked it because it was a counter-depth but it didn’t have enough fridge space and had too much freezer space. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. I like the feeling I get when I open up the door then the LED lights illuminate the inside and just slowly fade. It’s very pleasant to operate and it has lived up to all the expectations I’ve had of it.

My Viking refrigerator and dishwasher are just over four years old. We have had constant problems with the fridge beginning within a year of purchase. Ice maker replaced twice, unit not cooling, plastic cracking, doors not sealing. We have had the entire unit replaced, since then the ice maker is still working but the plastic is cracking again on the covers to the butter storage. The dishwasher has been repaired at least twice, once due to a fire hazard recall. Now it doesnt dry the dishes and needs repair again. In over 30 years of homeownership I have owned several homes with other appliance brands at much lower cost - have never had any single appliance come even close to having major issues such as this. When I paid top dollar for professional appliances I never expected this low level of quality.

We bought a Viking fridge and separate freezer in 2006 when we remodeled our home because they replaced SubZero products and fit into the spaces perfectly. We assumed when you pay for top end products, you get top end products. Instead, we have become used to the freezer leaking onto the floor and a sheet of ice on the bottom shelf. Meanwhile, our fridge has begun acting up and is unable to regulate its temperature. We have been getting up in the middle of the night every night to turn off the alarm and have been dealing with frozen fruit and slushy milk. We called a repairman out who told us the door hinge needs replacing and the door doesnt shut properly, so a couple of sensors now also need replacing. We are facing a $1300 bill for that alone, and also have to pay an installer to come out and re-level the fridge. Because we have a malfunctioning fridge and are trying to operate in a family home, this is an urgent repair for us. Today we found out the parts are backordered and it will be up to six weeks before they arrive. How is a family supposed to manage for six weeks without a properly functioning fridge???We were also told the water lines to the freezer are frozen up and we need to turn the freezer off for two days and defrost it. What exactly we are supposed to do with a freezer full of food during this process seems to be our problem. We read some of these reviews while trying to troubleshoot our own issues and hoped we would not end up adding a review to this site, but sadly, you can add us to the list of disgruntled Viking owners who are wondering exactly what they paid for when they bought top of the line appliances and ended up with an unreliable money pit instead. I will think long and hard before spending another penny on Viking products again.

The Vikings Range was already in my fourth house when I bought it in September 2015. The range, including the oven, gets hot super super fast and that concerns me because it cooks food so fast. We werent originally getting Viking Refrigerators but after looking at refrigerators, I liked the features on it and the quality of the refrigeration is good. It has the two doors on top and a door freezer. I like that the ice tray is not in the door because you lose space when it’s in the door, that was why we ended up going with Viking. I originally wanted refrigerators with the ice maker in the door, but it doesn’t work well with this kind of model. We got the Viking also because when you pull the ice tray, there are three drawers that pull out so when you do one pull of the drawer on the outside, the ice tray drawer comes out as well. It’s magnetized to the door and that’s a big feature. A lot of times with the other refrigerators. Once you open the drawer and then you get to pull another rack to get the ice, it’s two steps, which is annoying. This way, you pull it once and then you can get the ice. But when it was delivered, they took that feature off. It was on the showroom floor, but then they changed the model and they no longer did that feature so a part was ordered for us to put the back of that on the door. So now, it’s magnetized and the ice tray drawer pulls out. They were able to do that but they should put that feature back in. That was the selling feature for us. Thank goodness they were able to retrofit that. We had a problem with the doors. When you look at the two top doors, there’s a weave in the stainless steel on one side and there’s none in the other so we had the salesperson from Appliance World come in and checked it. She came, verified it and then went back to the reps who deal with the Viking people. They said that cosmetic problems are supposed to be told within three months, and we were six months out. I’m going to call my sales rep and tell her that I was not happy with that. She saw that there was a problem and I was told that one side door will be switched out. The other sales rep from Appliance World that deals with the repair people said, “You’re out of warranty. Sorry. Bye.” She wasn’t very nice. She also said, “I deal with these people all the time. Viking is not going to change their mind. Blah, blah, blah.” The other reason that we liked the feature is that we were able to create this to make it look like a built-in because Viking simply gives built-in refrigerator and this particular model is the only one they make that’s not a built-in. We have custom cabinetry so they made it look like it was a built-in and it came out nice. We didn’t want to spend the money on a built-in and this is not a built-in but we can make it look like one.

One of my stoves couldn’t come out so they helped me get it out and put the new one in. And its a great experience.

Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didn’t like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. It’s just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.

We have had constant ice maker issues (constant tapping noise as ice maker has always had issues with ejecting ice) and now the button that ejects the water filter is broken. I buy design magazines and Ive always liked Viking. I liked its look and the efficiency, and Ive always thought Viking lasts longer so I definitely had the idea in my mind that it was a step above Thermador. I bought it four months ago but I bought it in Kentucky and I live in Utah, so it was in transit. I just registered it and Ive had it for more than a month. I bought it mainly for exterior and the tray storage feature that could store big platters and cakes. But I ended up liking the LED feature on the inside without knowing I picked it for that. I was surprised how cool the LED lights were. When the fridge was put in initially, the circuit board had a little wire popped out and it wasn’t turning on. I thought it was going to be a big fix. The compressor worked but it wasn’t getting cold and I sent the crew away without final install because I had my house under construction back then. A man came out to repair the fridge and now its all good. Everything has been great.

We built a new home 14 months ago and had Viking appliances put in it. But my Viking range has been broken for 12 of those 14 months. The repair guy would fix one thing and then something else would go bad or he would uncover something else that was already bad. They were out four times before somebody said, We dont ever do this, but we need to replace the range. So, I ended up getting an entirely new range. But theres not been one day that it hasnt been broken and a ticket was open. Also, if I make a call, it takes at least three weeks to get a response and somebody to work on it. At one point, I waited six weeks to get somebody to come. Thats not acceptable. Also, they are are saying, This part is stuck at.... I am so tired of all these ships because of COVID that are stuck in some foreign space station somewhere that nobody knows exists. But the product has been good once they give me the one thats working. I would buy Viking again because of the product. It was the follow-up that I have a problem with. A high-end company did a very big disservice to a good product because of how they acted post-failure.

I wont go into detail about the problems with the 2012 range, suffice to say Viking replaced it with a new model, 2017. This induction range is a dream. I love it. The oven preheats silently in less than 10 minutes, it holds a even temperature. The cooktop burners are responsive and they all work! No loud humming. The new range seems like an ongoing miracle in my kitchen. So happy with all aspects of it... and it is beautiful!

Our Viking Range was only 4 years old when a tiny part in the electronic panel broke in half. After searching for many hours for someone willing to come and fix it, we were told that most likely the whole electronic panel would have to be replaced. Not satisfied with this, we continued our research and found that this defect was very common, and that the $20 dollar part could be purchased and replaced quite easily. We found someone that ordered the part (he was the one that told us that this was quite common and that a recall should have been done on our model of range).Since being fixed, the control knob has never worked very well and was quite finicky to turn the oven on. Now, after owning this range for only 5 years, the circuit board has shorted out. Rather than spend a dime on fixing this, I would rather just throw it out and buy a new and more simply made range. DO NOT waste your money on Viking products. They do not stand behind their appliances and it is nearly impossible to find someone that will waste their time fixing them. Go with something that can be easily fixed as I believe all appliances nowadays are designed to fail hours after their warranty has expired.

Ive been trying to get somebody from Viking to help me for about two and a half months now and Im not happy. Within a matter of two days, I had all four drawers of my refrigerator completely break. The top two where I put cheese and ham, cracked all the way across the plastic. The bottom ones are absolutely broken and shattered in pieces. It must be a plastic piece that goes around it that is cracked. And apparently, there is a bolt that goes in the door that stops it from swinging open when I open it, and that broke too. Now, when I open the door, it swings into the double oven and the handles of the double oven have now made dents or scratches on the door of the refrigerator. Right now, I have a towel tied around the double Viking Professional oven handle, my $12,000 refrigerator is completely broken, and I cant even have anybody to come over to my house with this looking like this. No one has gotten back to me. Ferguson has been wonderful and gave me the name of somebody to come out and see what could be done or if it was on a recall list, and that guy that was called wouldnt even come out to the house to look at it. He said there was nothing he could do as Im not under warranty. Im really frustrated. Its ridiculous to pay this kind of money and itd be five years old and all of a sudden it just breaks.I looked up on the internet to see if anybody else was having those problems, and apparently, theres been a lot of people that had the same problem with the drawers cracking and breaking. The top ones where I put ham and cheese in look bad, but I can still use them. However, the ones at the bottom where I put lettuce, vegetables, and tomatoes, I cant even use. Theyre in probably about 10 pieces. I talked to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that to order me four new drawers, it would be about $1,200. Is there somebody else that I can speak to? Nope. Thats it. I am really pissed. Furthermore, in the very beginning, the girl at customer service wouldnt even talk to me because she said I had not registered. I guess I had to register the products with Viking for any call backs and warranties, and until I did that, she wouldnt even talk to me. So I did that. I had to find the receipt from five years ago when we purchased it, with the purchase number and address. Then I called her back and theres nothing they can do. This was after the approved repairman for Viking wouldnt even come out. I said I didnt understand as the reason that we purchased Viking is we assumed that they would stand behind their product. They said they do, but it does not feel like that for me.

At first, we were thinking about Thermador, but the package that Viking offered with the microwave at the time coaxed us to go the Viking route so that we could have a Viking range and microwave. Were very happy with the range. It cooks phenomenally and bakes pretty evenly, which is really great. Plus, the way the dials light up at night looks pretty cool. But my favorite thing is the blue lights that light up under the lighting on the external part of the range.

We heard that Viking Ranges was one of the best but my wife and I dont feel that way anymore, and well never buy a Viking again. It was a terrible experience. We bought our range and had it over five years. Something happened to the temperature button so that we could only cook at 350 or above. They came in to fix that button and it was gonna be $1,000 to fix it.When they went to fix the button, they moved the stove and they said that on the bottom theres electronic wires that shorted out the oven when they moved it. The service people said it was a defect on the way they made them and now they make them with some type of insulator that protects the wires from shorting out. But thats not available to our range so we had to purchase another one, and we wound up getting a newer model that has that. But we had spent over $2,000 on the newer model that doesnt have a gauge that people can see the temperature on. We have to put something inside of it to see the temperature. There was also no clock on it. And It was more expensive than ours. Its ridiculous.I could buy something for a quarter of the price that I would be more happy with because weve used Wolf before as a higher-end unit in a lot of our rentals. Weve used much less expensive stuff which weve had for 20 years and we didnt have these kinds of problems. Viking is just a name brand and they probably shop out all their service and have no parts after five years on a unit people purchased. Its unbelievable. I dont know how they got their name but Im sure not from what weve experienced. Its just an oven and it doesnt do anything special. It cooks like everything else is supposed to. Name brands impress people. We could have bought a new oven from somebody else with the money we spent to fix our situation.

My overall experience has not been very good, not with the Viking range itself, but with the servicing and the people that I had to deal with. The door does not close all the way, so the light has been on for almost a year. This is pre-COVID and I’ve had so much trouble trying to get a service call. I was bounced between that it’s still under warranty and then it’s not under warranty even though I bought a service contract. Also, I kept getting passed between the service contract people and the corporate people, so I kinda gave up. The light is finally going out, but my point was that because the door doesn’t shut all the way, I don’t know that it’s properly heating the interior without the heat escaping. I’m sure it takes a screwdriver and a small adjustment and I would’ve been happy.

Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.

The fan of the Viking refrigerator we purchased was annoyingly loud. I have very sensitive hearing and it’s getting me crazy. We also purchased a Viking Range which I like it, but I had some issues with it. And they were not able to completely resolve it without tearing out the range and putting a new one in. When I had service on it, the gentleman said that the very low thats almost like a buzzing sound was just normal for the refrigerator. It sound like I have a constant bumblebee in my home. When I was choosing what refrigerator to buy, I’ve heard nothing but grief from people who are dealing with Sub-Zero, so that eliminated that one immediately. And the other two that I was familiar with were Viking and Thermador. I have a Thermador range in my second home and I’m not thrilled with it so I eliminated that. So I went with Viking and was holding my breath when I did. However, I was misled by the salesman. It was a significant purchase that was almost $12,000. He led me to believe that we were going to get 10% off our purchase back based on the program that Viking was running. But when I read the fine print of the information, that obviously was not the case and I haven’t even had a chance to submit my paperwork. Like many of the reviews here, our Viking French Door fridge was a lemon and so is the new one that showed up after 6 months of service calls and spoiled food. I have now heard from a service person and the appliance delivery men that I am not alone in my issues, which are detailed by many other reviews here. I have wasted 16+ hours of my life talking to Viking and waiting for service calls. Not to mention the $100s of lost due to spoiled food from the freezing in the back of the fridge. The fact that ice spills out onto the floor every time I open the freezer is a design flaw I could have lived with, but this is unacceptable. Built my entire kitchen around this fridge and now I need to figure out how to replace it. Do yourself a favor - the reviews are true - dont buy this fridge. We bought a new house 3 years ago. The house came with all brand new Viking appliances, wonderful we thought... until we actually wanted to use them. We have a microwave, fridge/freezer, 6 burner range oven and dishwasher. Fridge/freezer and microwave have worked fine, so no complaints there.Oven and dishwasher however, are a bit of a disaster. First of all the oven - the gas was coming in too far from the flame, so it would never light properly, or it would light and then go out after a few seconds, just leaving the click click click as it tried to reignite, and the smell of gas everywhere. Called the engineer and he repositioned the pipe so it would work properly (the original issue might have been the problem from installation and not a Viking problem, Im not sure). Then after this visit, the fan in the oven makes a ting ting ting noise knocking against something if we try to use it - as wed had the engineer out for the dishwasher in the middle of this, I couldnt face getting him here again, so we have lived for 3 years without using the fan. Now onto the dishwasher which wasnt working when we moved in (brand new dishwasher), sometimes it would stop mid-cycle, other times it wouldnt go on at all. We had the service engineer out several times. First time he tried resetting everything, then second time he ordered a new electric panel on the front and came back and installed it later, then after that it seemed to work fine. Until yesterday, when the electric heater failed - at least this is the word on the Viking website talking about this very issue on a product recall (which doesnt include our dishwasher). As I sat about 3 feet from the machine, I heard a strange short circuit sound and a pop, seconds later there was smoke coming from the machine (which was running), I grabbed the fire extinguisher and switched everything off. Moved our two babies to another room, and pulled the machine out of the wall with my husband, smelt where it was coming from, and dismantled the thing to find a completely burnt out electric heater and wiring on the bottom. Very dangerous. We now have a semi-dismantled dishwasher in the kitchen and we are trying to get the part replacement - officially this is on a 6-week order lead time. More to come, but 100% sure that I would not purchase Viking again.

I purchased all Viking appliances thinking they were high quality. Unfortunately, I had problems from the start...especially with the dishwasher. Like many other customers, the silverware basket began falling apart within the first year. I complained to Viking and left with the impression they just dont care if you are satisfied or not. I cant stand the thought of paying up to $80 for a new Viking basket- after paying so much $$$ for the dishwasher in the first place- so I am still using the broken one currently held together with zip ties. If that wasnt enough, the start button on the top edge that turns the machine ON failed. That cost me close to $200 to replace one tiny electronic part. I have a small apartment size dishwasher in one of my rental units I paid only 1/4 of what I did for my Viking and it cleans dishes so much BETTER than my expensive Viking. DO NOT BUY VIKING APPLIANCES. You will regret it.

We installed all Viking appliances when we built our home. Thinking we had made a great decision on a high end appliance line. It has been very frustrating dealing with these appliances. The dishwasher stopped working and it was more to have it fixed than to purchase a new one. The double ovens have been running 75 degrees high after a year. After many expensive service calls they still are not fixed. The double sided refrigerator has been replaced once and the current refrigerator freezes food that is in certain areas of the refrigerator as well as we cannot regulate the temperature in the freezer, causes food to thaw. We have had many expensive service calls with no success in resolving this very frustrating problem. Viking appliances are beautiful but there is obviously a serious problem with their products.

When redoing our kitchen we decide to purchase all Viking appliances: dishwasher, 36 inch gas range, commercial grade fridge, freezer, wine fridge, and microwave. From the time of installation there was issues with every single item. After repairing the dishwasher control panel twice for 800 dollars each time no warranty on that part we finally replaced it. Unfortunately I have a gas range and the only thing that works on it is two burners. I have never been able to use the grill and no one was able to repair it. My fridge and freezer is now turned off and no one wants to touch Viking products and to replace them is too much. In the beginning Viking had said they would replace all the products. After numerous calls then they disappeared and I was told my warranty was up and I was on my own. They never fixed it while the warranty was still good, they just waited and dragged things on. Worst experience ever. Beautiful kitchen with nothing working in it.

I have a Viking kitchen. I've had a Viking refrigerator in my house for about 20 years. It lasted 18 years before I needed some work. And then, that lasted for another couple of years. I was good with it. It went bad, so I needed a new one. However, I'm rather disappointed that the warranty service happened. The issue was the fridge wouldn't hold temperature. It took about a month and a half. But the tech did a really good job. It has only been a month or two since the repair, but so far, so good. He added refrigerant. He couldn't find the leak. So if the leak is somewhere hidden, it would recur. I like the fridge when it works.

We bought a new house and Viking appliances came with it. One of those appliances was a refrigerator and Ive found that the layout and functioning bit of it has been fine. Its of good quality and it has nice hardy doors. However, I have two issues with the freezer that will make me not wanna buy that product again. First, when I open up the door at the bottom where the ice maker slides out, the whole drawer comes out with it because of the magnets at the front. If the icebox is full, the little metal arm thing that comes down knocks all the ice off. Ice goes all over the floor and the back of the freezer and thats a major pain. We have hardwood floors and so when the ice falls on it, we cant feel like we can just leave it. Another issue I have is that when the pump turns on to pump water into the ice machine. It’s super loud, like really loud. You can hear it across the whole house. While we can tell it’s filling, all the other pumps weve ever had for other houses that weve owned have been super quiet. We couldnt even hear the water running. I will not buy that particular model again because of these two issues. Nevertheless, the freezer keeps things cold and it works really well. I think it’s a good quality product but the ice maker and water pump are poorly designed.

Viking Refrigerators has a good reputation and so far the quality of the brand-new refrigerator I received is good. I bought the refrigerator from H. H. Gregg who ended up going out of business so I had some problems in the beginning with delivery. I also ran into some issues with the sales department at Viking not sending somebody out to fix the door right away when the door wasnt closing properly. It was a handle that was loose and it wasnt anything I could fix myself. It had to be done by an appliance repair person. But once I got the refrigerator in the house and everything was up and running Viking was good about coming out and having an appliance repair person come out right away. Also the design is good. The French door-- its a convenient arrangement. You can access the drawers with only one drawer open so you dont let as much of the cold air out. Also the buttons that you push to change the temperature up and down are easily accessible and it is great. I also have a brand-new Viking dishwasher and an under counter refrigeration unit so I have three major appliances through them. Viking has been good overall.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is okay. But I would have liked to have features that other refrigerators have and Viking does not, like an ice and water dispenser in the door. Also, the fridge has an ice maker that dumps ice in a tray in the freezer section of the refrigerator. If you pull out the freezer section, ice cubes in the back tumble out on the ground. I dont see that as being a positive feature of the refrigerator at all. Ive never had a refrigerator that tumbled ice cubes on the floor because the tray isnt holding properly. Other than those two things, I like the refrigerator. As far as keeping things cool, it keeps things cool. It looks attractive on the inside, too. You push the buttons and it keeps things where its supposed to keep.

Wish I had never chosen Viking for my kitchen, huge mistake. The dishwasher is worse than a cheap $300 Maytag. Its broke down 3 times in 4 years, even when it worked it was junk, didnt even dry dishes. My advice, buy a KitchenAid or Bosch for your appliance. Youll be sorry if you choose Viking. They dont stand behind their products and its costly to fix anything. I wouldnt be surprised if they go out of business soon.

The BTU that Vikings have warmed up things a lot quicker. I would recommend Viking Ranges. The dealers that we went to were good, however, I don’t think they knew their equipment that much. We already knew what we wanted and I went with some questions like if we should go with a smaller or bigger and they couldnt answer it. They didn’t seem to be extremely sharp at it. They told me to go with the bigger motor and asked me why would I go with the small one but that was why we were asking.

The front door with the handle and glass separated from the heavier thermal part of the door. It was under warranty but they couldnt supply a replacement part. It took many months before Viking finally agreed to replace the range but once they did, they did a really good job of coordinating. Purchased about six months ago and I have been picking up ice off the floor several times a day since! It overproduced ice into the bucket and when you open freezer ice falls out. I contacted customer service and a technician came to house. After consulting Viking directly it was found that this is a known problem and there is no fix for our model. I was told I need to lift the ice handle to stop making ice and put it down again when I need more. Can’t believe I have to make my own ice for a fridge that cost close to $10,000! The rep I purchased the fridge from contacted Viking to see if I could return and the answer was NO! Very disappointed!

The Viking Pro dishwasher we had was recalled because the heater would start fires, apparently about 20 of them! So they sent a tech to fix it - that took 3 months! So we washed dishes by hand. Then after they supposedly fixed the dishwasher it would give error codes like flooding, but it was not doing that it just would stop mid cycle - sometimes. So they came again after much complaining and could not fix it and suggested it MIGHT be a control board problem. Even though when they ran diagnostics there was nothing found to be broken. It was clear to me that fixing the heater problem caused the machine to randomly stop, yet they refused to fix it. Viking wanted to charge me for a new controller board so adding $400 to a unit I already do not trust. Clearly if it worked before they took it apart and replaced the wiring harness and heater then something they did during the repair broke something else!

We like the quality and the features of the Viking range. We worked with a local dealer to purchase one and everything kind of worked as advertised. Weve had our range since November and the quality is very good. I like the way the burners work. However, it is difficult to adjust and calibrate the oven. It seems like the temperature is off on the oven and there’s no information in the instruction book on how to do that. Also, I didnt know that they were gonna change the range. I should have done some more homework as a consumer. The oven is not very deep, too, which is a disappointment. Still, these are just a couple of minor negatives. In general, we’re very pleased with our Viking range.

Our builder put Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator in our home. The range is great but I already had to replace the motherboard on the refrigerator within six months. The seal around the freezer chipped because the availability of getting a motherboard took an extra number of weeks. The appliance company sent somebody out and said we needed a motherboard. They tried to communicate with Viking but they werent successful. So we ended up calling Viking and then we rescheduled the guy to come out to put it in. I wondered about that a little bit and I wasnt happy with that at all. I wish they were a little more customer service oriented. If Im gonna recommend Viking, then it will be something based on my experience with them and not how I like their range. Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher
When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher grade, I went with the higher grade which was Viking. I have already known that Viking Refrigerators were better and I like them. I like how easily I can move the shelf and I like the partial shelf a lot which drops under so I can put more tall things on the inside shelf. But one thing I don’t like about the Viking Refrigerator is the icemaker. The refrigerator is a three-door and I love the way the bottom freezer opens but every time I do the ice, it knocks an ice cube underneath. It’s crazy and I can’t get it to stop doing that. I’ve called it in but they told me that it is a standard problem. If I would have known that problem, I wouldn’t have bought it because it’s aggravating for me to chase around ice cubes under the refrigerator. They shouldn’t be there but it spits them out to the floor in front but if I pull the door out, they drop down behind the door. Also, the freezer part needs development because the top tray sticks and it’s hard to remove sometimes, and it’s brand new. I’ve seen the double drawer and I don’t know if I can have that in the freezer part at the bottom where the one big solid door with two racks inside is. They have a slim drawer on the outside and it’s the rest of the door, and even that would be a better model. Then, the first time I got my refrigeration filters, it took three months to get the filters replaced. It was some back order and I never knew the status of it. It was really aggravating and absolutely crazy how long it took to get the filter cartridge because it’s brand new. I really wanted them replaced for a while and it took at least two months come through. I didn’t even know that the order was still placed because I never got any feedback. So, there was really poor communication. I called Viking customer service and it was crazy. When I called the warranty department, the phone went automatically to their “We’re out for lunch.” I ended up calling a different department and said, “I’ve left messages on the line. I’m in the east coast. You can’t be out for lunch at 1 because it’s 8 AM.” They called me back and Desiree was lovely and was wondering why I was getting that message so I told her to try the number I called. There was another person who helped me, because the house was in North Carolina, and we’ve had an easy 10 hours in trying to contact Viking, which is beyond reasonable. I’m surprised they haven’t called to follow up on the status yet. Viking sent three different people to see if they would fix the machine. The first two wouldn’t even come for service because they don’t service Viking. Now, I fully expect the service for any repairs to be that awful. I should have shopped for a different model or looked for different ones because they’re a pain in the butt.

Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

Based on reviews online and their reputation with their consumers and my friends, we decided to get a Viking range. The cost of their range is twice the quality ratio. Im not quite sure what I paid the premium for and the quality of the range is in the middle: not great nor bad. The infrared broiler is my favorite feature of the range, but it does not work that well. I also like the convection and the high-BTU burner. The gas regulator stopped working. It malfunctioned and I couldnt get any gas output from anything including the oven or the burner. I made a service call for it and they took care of it pretty quickly. Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

When we came in, the refrigerator was brand-new, but the ice maker wasnt making any ice. We thought it was still under warranty, then it wasnt because the warranty started when the builder finished the property, and we purchased it eight months later, then we came in several months after that, so it had been over a year. But then, Viking went ahead and sent someone out and fixed it. They said to make sure that its on vacation mode and the levers up for the ice so we did that. We were there during the summer and we came back for Thanksgiving and it was not working again. It was apparently something a little bit more major. But I love its double doors and where the freezer is at the bottom, and then it has the little buttons on the side with all the temperatures control. We also had a bit of an issue with the dishwasher too. But that was fixed. Were just waiting on a part. Overall, were very satisfied with Viking.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. Our builder sent us to his appliance vendor to select kitchen appliances, whereupon a salesman convinced us to upgrade to Viking--there was some kind of package deal on at the time. The first 2 years were marked by constant frustration. The fridge had no shortage of problems (our version had a fridge above and freezer below). The hinges were replaced by a factory-authorized repairman twice (the first time, he forgot to lubricate them, and we ended up with a small pile of metal dust from the grinding metal parts). It took several attempts to get the door to stop swinging 180 degrees. The metal freezer rack started rusting (the factory sent the wrong part for the first attempted repair). Later, the thermostat failed and had to be replaced (it was actually my co-worker who diagnosed the problem--meanwhile, the distributor denied that could be the issue). At some point, I noticed the plastic door gasket was tearing, but I let that one go. These days, every time I look at the fridge, I cant help but notice that it isnt aligned properly. And of course, we never even thought to look at the Energy Guide sticker, where I was surprised to find its rated one of the least efficient refrigerators in its class. The oven arrived with a faulty door. A new one arrived, but the repairman sent it back because it had been damaged in shipping. The second warranty repair seemed OK, but my wife was always unhappy at how long it took for the oven to warm up. The microwaves magnetron failed under warranty and was replaced. But this morning, the microwave started arcing, smoking, and making spectacular sparks from behind the back panel. Its now 6 years old, and I think its life has ended.Im pleased to say that we did not roll over and play dead, and successfully argued our case to get Viking to cover all of our problems under warranty (except todays event). But my wife and I lead busy lives, and its been very draining to be constantly booking appointments, waiting around for repair people to show, and badgering the company. When we first bought Viking, I read all about how they studied and learned from Toyotas quality control systems. All I can say is, they couldnt have been paying much attention on those trips to Japan.

Weve had our Viking fridge for five years now and our experience has been very good. We had a problem with the compressor and because its under warranty, we called Viking Refrigerators a few weeks ago to have the piece repaired, and we had a very good service. Initially, we were renovating the kitchen and we wanted a fridge that is not too deep and that is bigger than the standard and we thought that the Viking was the one we needed. We like that we can easily find things in the fridge because its only 24 inches in depth. The only thing is we were a bit disappointed with the cheap drawers because theyre plastic and everything was cracked. So for the price we paid for the fridge, the drawers should have been of a better quality. The person who came to change the compressors said that it would cost us a big amount to change the drawers, so we will keep them with all the cracks.
