42 inch quiet, cool, side by side refrigerator freezer. Model VCSB5423SS. We are having the WORST experience with the ice maker. It barely produces ice. Lakeview appliance has replaced the water valve twice with no success. We are now waiting on new ice maker. VERY DISAPPOINTING.

Viking oven quite beautiful blueberry blue, came with amazing home we purchased, number of problems in the 5 years we have been here. Currently the door to the small oven is hanging open, we cannot fix it. Called and left voice mail messages for the service manager and NO CALL BACKS. We cannot do business like this and are positively shocked that no one cares enough about such a valuable brand to look after maintaining or building the value. Sounds like its almost game over from reading about other peoples unfortunate experiences.

Our Viking range broke. Our range had two flaws in it, one of them was rather dangerous. The manifold, which serves all the burners, had a leak in it. It wasnt because of the way it was connected, it was because it wasnt inspected properly by Viking. The other thing is, it also had a broken shelf in it. Those are two things that should have been found before it was ever released from their Viking warehouse. The company we bought it from brought it here to my house and took it out of the box, so it was not something they did. We contacted the company we bought it from, which is Abt Electronics, because within 30 days, we have the right to return it without question. What they wound up doing was replacing our range with another range that they had promised at a later date. We had two different people come out. I had the gas company come out and check the gas lines to the range. Because I had my gas connection replaced because I thought that that was what the problem was until we had Abt Electronics come out. Their technician was the one, after taking part of the range apart, who found the actual problem. This is not a cheap range because its a 36-inch range, its larger than most. Its something my wife has always wanted because she does a lot of cooking. This was something we were moving up to something that was really special. We were originally very disappointed with the problems we had. Overall, it took a couple of weeks to find and fix the problem during the holidays. But as far as Im concerned now, I would recommend the product. The range holds heat very well. Certainly heats what we put on the stove evenly.

I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I also like the look of it.

I choose Viking Ranges for their quality and I just like them. They have a very good quality. My favorite feature is its consistency in cooking. I also love that each of the burners has a simmer mode, which is good. I bought the range from someplace online. I also bought the extended warranty and there’s one company in our area that works on the Viking thats certified if I have any issues with it.

We bought a Viking oven three years ago and its been one problem after another. The temperature controls are wonky, there was a gas leak (gas company had to come and turn it off) and the fan is much louder than other comparable high-end models. All in all, the oven is a huge disappointment and I would not recommend anyone buying it.

As a very dissatisfied and disappointed Viking customer, I would never recommend the product to anyone. I have often said to anyone who listens that our Viking kitchen appliances was the worst purchase we ever made. We have had more repairmen here to work on the highly touted Viking appliances in the last 6 years than in our entire 40-year history of home/appliance ownership. It is a joke. We are currently waiting for the Viking repairman once again to come fix the refrigerator to hopefully stop the leaking that is damaging our hardwood floor. If I was independently wealthy, I would throw them all away; but Im not. We made what we thought was a wise investment that would last us through retirement. Im sure we will end up replacing all at some point when Ive lost all my patience. If I do a Pinterest, it would be labeled Stay away from Viking far, far away. There are much better, more reliable, less expensive products. Viking beauty is only skin deep.

My husband wanted a Viking range. We bought one and it has been terrible. We took in the dimensions of the range that we had in. Their guaranteed me it would fit and that the would be a half-inch further out than the existing range we had which was not a big deal at all. However, when their delivery guys got here, it stuck out 4 inches further. So, we had to cut into our granite to get it to fit. Also, their guys didnt bring a range cord with them to do the installation so we had to take the one off of our old range. They also told us that the range would fit and that it wont stick out once we took the granite out. Still, because of the width of the plug, it stuck out. They eventually told me that they would come back three days later with a long enough gas hose and recess the plug in the wall. Instead, they came back with another gas hose that wasnt long enough. I have a 2-foot hose and a 4-foot one and they had two supply lines hooked together. The installers also scratched my floor. After all this, Viking has not been acceptable. Nobody wants to have two gas lines. Its just another spot for it to leak. At that point, I told them that I dont want them messing with my range. They already scratched the floor ones. My husband can change out the gas line and so were gonna do it. Yet another problem was that the door of the range wouldnt open so they sent out a text to fix that plate across the bottom. Three days later, we were actually going to use it for the first time and the light kept coming on. We called them out to fix that and it took a week for them to come out. When they did, the tech said that our hinges were busted so the door was stuck. They also didnt have the part with them so we had another 10 days without a stove. The second time the installers left, they ran over my garbage cans and left them in the middle of the road. So, I called and talked to their guy and he told me that they would figure out what they were gonna do about my garbage cans and the scratches on the floor. However, we never heard back from him. I sent a message a week later telling him that Im very disappointed with the service. We try and shop local, support smaller businesses, and it’s disappointing that they couldnt even get back to me. When I talked to him again, he said he thought I was gonna call him back. He also said that the only thing they would do was refund me the installation fee. Though they were gonna send somebody out to fix our floor, it would cost me. Im not trusting anybody that theyre gonna send out at this point.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

I’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and I purchased from them because of the warranty. I’m happy overall with the fridge, but I expected a little better quality of the drawer pull-outs and the freezer. They’re kind of flimsy. Also, during the purchasing process, I had a horrible experience as it took forever to get the fridge purchased. It was not a streamlined process. And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. It turned out that their delivery people left a big cardboard in the back which was causing the problems. All we had to do was remove it. I also wish the fridge had a water dispenser.

We bought the top-line Viking refrigerator as well as Viking oven and microwave through Best Buy, and Best Buy has been horrible. The communication around the third party that Best Buy uses for installation has all been really poor, and getting my appliances installed was the worst thing ever. First, the built-in $9,000-refrigerator was installed incorrectly. The installers failed to put a kickplate on the bottom of this refrigerator and they probably threw it away. So we had to have someone come out and that took a while. We’re easygoing people and we’re not that tough to deal with. However, I bought that refrigerator in early June and to this day, I dont have the kickplate yet, so that has been frustrating.Best Buy has a customer service troubleshooter that was assigned to us. That person was really nice but has been lousy on follow-up so we called and left messages. When I finally got a hold of Best Buy’s case manager, he said that Best Buy was told that the manufacturer did not have the kickplate in stock. So I told them that I was gonna call Viking, which I should have done early on. When I called, I spoke with their customer service person who was great and a really nice lady too. I asked her about the kickplate that is missing and she said they had them in stock, which was what I anticipated the whole time. We havent heard anything back yet, but a company is supposed to call us. Still, Viking is a premium brand and they have been responsive to us and the experience with them has been great.

I researched on the website a while back and to me, Viking products were outpriced out, so I didn’t care for Viking at all and I was looking more into BlueStar and Wolf. But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and I’m happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I can’t get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and that’s the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but it’s a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I don’t press the button for a convection oven. So I’ll ask the technician when they come. The dealer in the Pacific Department at Best Buy was an excellent help and Viking Ranges is excellent. Go ahead and purchase one if you can do it.

8 years ago we did a total renovation to our kitchen and chose to put in a 48 Viking range/hood. This undoubtedly was our most expensive purchase. In the last 7 years I have had nothing but problems. 2 of the burners never light unless done with a match. I am now on my 3rd thermostat for the broiler, I have been waiting 3 MONTHS for this part... Again!!! The oven thermostat has been replaced 2 times. Of course these repairs have cost us $500-$1500. This has been the most disappointing purchase I have ever made. Terrible product and terrible customer service. Dont DO IT... Buy something that backs up its product for more than a year!!!

The next one we got had a problem with the bottom right range igniting. Still, the range I got in the end works fine and looks good. It has four burners. It also has an open burner and I like the BTUs on it. I also like its low simmer feature.

I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. One problem has recurred and not been repaired several times, and then, I had another problem as well. They always try to charge me for the call, even though it was under warranty. I would never buy Viking again.

Id love to jump on this band wagon right about now. Im most specifically upset about the oven ignitors needing replacement, as they say, every 3-5 years. I can read about it anywhere now, but I wasnt told anything about ignitors needing replacement when I bought it. Our repair bill was about $500 to change out the bad parts. I feel lucky, I think ours have been done only twice and then now, so 3 times in 10 years. Our oven hasnt been in working order for about 4 months while in my very limited spare time, I tried to figure out what ignitors will work, and be as good as the genuine Viking ignitors. My husband will soon be attempting to make the repair when the cheaper, similar Maytag ignitors arrive. He is so mad about the ignitor situation that he wouldnt allow us to call for the oh so expensive repairman to fix them. As he was assessing the ignitors/why the oven wasnt heating again, he took out the bottom pan of the oven and it fell apart into 2 pieces, with some partially melted insulation in between the two pieces of metal. Viking insists we need to buy a new bottom pan rather than my husband simply repairing that. It is $281. I will now be frantically try to find some of that insulation so my husband can spot weld the pan back together. Its weird stuff. I might try a fireplace shop. Thanksgiving dinner may be pretty sad this year. I would think for a $5,000 appliance that the manufacturer could help out their consumers.Yes, we could afford the expensive repair if we had to, but we spent that ridiculous amount of money on the Viking, that its a matter of principle. It should work for that amount of money. When we did our do-it-yourself major kitchen remodel in 2003 the Viking was the gem to us. Stainless steel with Brass accents. Most all of the finish on the brass accents has deteriorated from, well I dont know, heat or cleaning supplies, I guess. That part may be a poor choice on my part. I know the salesman did mention that, but it really was pretty at first. We still have the 1950s Magic Chef stove that came with our home in the basemen. I guess Ill have the hubby fire that up, if all else fails. During this 4 months of being without a working oven, I have been using a variety of other small appliances. I will keep doing that even after the Viking is repaired to save the wear and tear on it. I have been using a counter top Jet Stream Oven, a Pizzazz rotating pizza oven, and some outdoor grilling. Id like to maybe be able to use the Viking oven to bake some Christmas cookies and roast a chicken now and then. Thanks for letting me vent, I feel better, not really.

Viking seems to have a pretty good reputation. Also, I had a Viking stand-alone refrigerator before that I bought on sale and it was good for years. So, when I saw that they had a floor model sale, I took it as a good opportunity to upgrade. I got another stand-alone refrigerator and its interior design is nice and quite functional. It also seems solid and reliable, like the Viking refrigerator that I had before. Viking Support has been very good, too. When the dealer sent a crew who was not a certified installer and did an extremely poor job, I ended up calling Viking Support and that was when I finally got help. So far, I like the refrigeration part of my current Viking refrigerator, but Im not too pleased that its freezer. It is so noisy and on all the time, which is quite bothersome when it is in the middle of a kitchen or family room area. It did not occur to me when I had the smaller refrigerator that the freezer kicked on all the time. With this one, the compressor kicks on for a few times a day and when I open it, which I find unnecessary. Even in a cool day in Northern California, it would kick on and last for a long time. And I hardly use the freezer. I have called their technical support and the guy said that the freezer does that because it needs defrosting. But why would it need to do that all these times? I was also told that it’s normal, which I find counter intuitive when I hear the freezer cranking more often than I open it. So if thats really not a defect, then it is a very poor design.

We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking. However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while. We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

The first time it simply shut down and stopped working, the service tech replaced the inverter and then it has started leaking water all over the floor. I have now called four times to have it fixed. The local, West Coast Regional Office is a joke. They dont even answer the phone. When they do answer I get the run-around until I insist they send someone to fix it, which then takes two or three days. And then, three weeks later the same thing happens. We purchased our Viking 30 4 burner range in 2006 and have had to replace the spark ignition module three times in that period. It is a $180 part, and though it is easy to replace, it always results in a minimum service charge of $110 for the first hour. Adding it all up, thats nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. I have a 120 year old Queen Anne with a beautiful Chefs Kitchen filled with all Viking Appliances. I have 500 to 600 people visit and touring this historic Victorian house on an annual basis. The 36 Viking Refrigerator stopped cooling both the refrigeration and freezer sections. I contacted the local high-end appliance center, and was told by them, that they no longer work with Viking because of their very poor service of there appliances, especially their refrigerators. I spoke with all other neighbors in our mansion district and was told the same thing. So, this was shocking because I own a complete set of Viking appliances in my beautiful kitchen.Nevertheless, I decided to find out myself, what experience of service I would get by contacting Viking. Well... the person on their (1866) toll free number, kind of summed it up as exactly like I was warned. The unhelpful person referred me to the closest authorized service company 75 minutes away, which after calling twice and not hearing back, lead me to believe I was dealing with a truly amateur company. I am highly thinking of changing-out ALL the Viking appliances to a more professional manufactures.

I was choosing between a Wolf or a Viking and at that time, Viking was having a rebate so I went with them. I like that it was made in America and have the stickers on it but the quality is horrible. On Thanksgiving day, it caught on fire. The conduction oven doesnt work and the regulator for the gas has had to be adjusted three times. The product is a total lemon. Im working with the supplier who says hes working on my behalf with Viking and I am going to go to every review site I can find and post if they dont do something to remedy this $5,000 stove that I invested in. Prior to when I first built my house, I bought good appliances and I was hoping that this Viking would be even better and this would be the last range that I would have to purchase, being of the quality. But every time I bake, it rattles the vent or fan but theyve tried taping it.My husband and I are so disappointed. We made this decision together. I cook all the time and it doesnt even completely work. It caught on fire because they didnt connect it to the gas thing properly. It wasnt a plumbers fault. They didnt make the stove correctly so I am upset. Its documented through the repair person including the type of visits. I even had a plumber come and look at it separately from the repair person. Even the repair person said Viking is not very good at standing by their equipment once we get it. And thats from the person whos selling it in his store. Unfortunately, Im all the way in Hawaii so I realize they dont want to pay shipping. I had a KitchenAid prior to this and I didnt want an electronic motherboard. That was another big decision maker, cause its very humid in Hawaii. In Vikng, the knobs are on the front so I felt its a better investment cause in the long run the motherboards breakdown. Also, theyve had to move the range in and out and its gotten scratched, not because of anything Ive done. The racks are now uneven inside of it because the repair guy has had to take them in and out so many times. My husbands tried fixing it himself but the only thing thing that works properly are the burners on the top and thats it. Everything else is wrong. Ive had to call Viking when it first caught on fire. Its still under warranty but it is only good for so far. And in the first three months, this thing has had four repairs and thats not right. They should try to work with me and replace it. But theres been no contact and no accountability.

I purchased a food truck with a 4-burner center griddle stove. At first I thought what a great deal. I made just looking at the value of the stove alone, not. Its been a nightmare from day one. Two knobs were broken off and cost $175.00 to replace each without installation. When I read the instructions, it said no guarantee unless installed by a certified repairman. The gas grill ignites constantly clicking drives you nutty. This product is way overpriced for my type of business. All I really need is a good old fashion Kenmore or any type non-commercial stove. This is like owning an European auto with services changes out the wazoo.

My experience has been horrible. I planned and did everything right. I wanted to make sure I researched. I wanted to support the country too. What I was thinking was either Miele or Viking. Miele was made by Germany while Viking was made in the US. Ive built my house and everything we use is made in the USA. Pacific Sales told me to go with a Viking. I asked how was their service and they said everything is perfect. When we called them, they said it would take longer. It was about closer to Thanksgiving time. They said it takes about eight weeks to build it. Somehow, somewhere, somebody called me one day and said they had one Viking unit sitting in the warehouse. I asked if it was a return unit and the guy said no. They brought it to the house and installed it. After a couple of months, we smelled gas. I called the gas company and they detected the whole house and found out it was the unit which was leaking the gas so they shut it off. When you turn the oven on, youll hear a tick, tick, tick but it will not ignite. Then it will fill up the whole house with gas smell. When I called the service company, I told them, “The gas company canceled my gas. Can you send somebody so they can fix it? The lady said, Oh, we have until next week. When we told the gas company we smelled gas, they showed up within an hour because it was urgent. The guy opened the whole unit and found out that the end of the gas igniter and all the electrical were exposed. It was sparking at the back of it instead of the front. He said it could cause an explosion so he unhooked it and said I could not use it until they replaced it. They came over and changed it but again, it started the other side. At that moment, I called Pacific Sales. I told them I bought this thing for safety. I have young children. It made me uncomfortable to use this unit. I didnt want it anymore. If they could replace it, that would be great. I didnt wanna keep calling somebody. What I found out was that the best interest of the companies that they use for repairs is to come back because every time they come back, theyre charging Viking service fee. Theyre the one who can make the decision whether things could be repaired or whether things could be exchanged and they always say it will not be exchanged it but it will be repaired. They came back again and this time, the grill was not fitting. The guy bent the pipe. I said, Isnt this pipe engineered and shouldnt have bent like the way youve done? He said it was okay. Theyre supposed to quality check before they ship it. It should have been tested if it closed perfectly. So I called called Pacific Sale back. They kept giving me the runaround. The other day, I called them and said, Every time you do it, the same thing keeps going. Im tired of somebody coming to my house and doing this thing.” They said they were not gonna change. They were gonna send another third party company to look at it if I wanted that but they were not gonna replace it. The griller doesnt work. You turn it on and wait. One day it works, one day it doesnt. They said somebody will contact me within 24 to 48 hours but they never contacted me. The other day, I told the lady, You know me. I talked to you many times, right? She said, Yeah, yeah, Mr. **. I talked to you. Now, I actually have a report for you. My boss told me no, were not gonna do it. I asked if he could call call me but she told me he doesnt call. Im discussing with my attorney what are my options are. Its not right. My familys safety is important. I regret it ever buying this unit. I wish I never dealt with them. I spent closer to $60,000 for that purchase. Viking hood and Viking range are the two things I bought. The rest of it was Sub-Zero and Miele and I have no issue with those equipment.

Ive had my first Viking Range for a year and a half. But it didn’t work p
Ive had my first Viking Range for a year and a half. But it didn’t work properly so it had to be replaced. In fact, I had someone out five times try to repair it with no success. This started in November and it continued until the end of January until they replaced the range. After we got the replacement range, January 31st, it worked fine up until this past weekend and now, its not working. So, Im waiting for someone to come out again to fix it.But their customer service is terrible. When I first called back in November for my Viking Range, they said, Okay. Were going to hook you up with a service provider. Then they called me back and said, Oh, theres no service provider in your area that service. So I had to wait but no one ever got back to me saying that they found one. Then right before Thanksgiving, I got a phone call at 8:00 at night and it was a service provider who was running late at a job, but theyre coming over to look at my oven. I didnt even know anyone was coming but after the tech came, he said he was going to order the part. So, it should be in after Thanksgiving. I waited. On the following Monday, I called the service provider to see if the parts have come in. I didnt get a call back so I called again. Finally, they called me back after an hour. The tech said he didnt have my stuff because he wasnt in the office. So, he would call me back the next day. But no one called me back. This went on for about a week. And then finally they said, Were going to schedule service. They did schedule a certain day, but nobody showed up. I called again several times and finally, they said, All right. We can do it we think on Friday. This is a Friday. Im like, No. You think or you can? Oh, no. Were going to do it on Friday. Well call you in the morning and let you know exactly what time that theyll be there. Well, they never called me in the morning. So, by noon, I called Viking. The lady said, she was going to try to figure it out. Call me back. Well, I never heard from Viking, but I heard back from the service provider that they were going to send someone. When the person came, he was at my house for five hours and he was asking my 16-year old son to help him move the oven because he couldnt do it by himself. He took the whole oven apart and he said, after he had it all apart, Oh, they gave me the wrong part. So, he put the whole oven back together and obviously it didnt work. And hes telling me that hes not a licensed person. He was a student doing the boss of the company a favor. So I freaked out. I didnt want them back at my house so I called Viking again on a Monday. They assured me they were going to look into it, but I never heard back from them. Then finally, the company came. He said, All right. Listen, we ordered the right part. Can you please let us do the same process? Please let our company come back. Well fix it. We have the right part. We know where the part is located. At this point, I just want this fixed so, Im like, Fine. Come. He comes again. And after they supposedly fixed the part, it still didnt work. So, the guy left. I called Viking again, asking for a manager, someone to call me back. But no one ever called me back. I would keep getting new people and they would say, Oh, were going to add you to our list of people. Heres my contact number. But no one ever followed-up with me. And then in mid-December, they sent out a new service provider who looked into whats wrong with it. They then ordered the part and came back. They fixed it and the oven would stay hot, but the broiler still didnt work. It would turn on for 50 seconds and then shut off and never come back on. So I called back Viking to tell them its not working. They said they have to wait for the report from Mr. Appliance. So I called Mr. Appliance to tell them to send the report. They said they did and the lady said, You need a replacement range. But they dont want to replace it because its very expensive. So, finally after numerous attempts through Viking, I called one more time because the next time, I was going to call an attorney because this is insane. Its over six weeks that it hasnt been working since I initially made my first phone call and theyve sent people out four different times from two different companies. So, finally I got in touch with the lady who said that shes going to help me. She said that I was going to be getting a replacement. It finally came through at the end of January because they still had to order it. It was installed January 31st, but over Easter it, breaks again. An igniting problem. So the oven wont turn on at all. I have people over and Im not able to cook because the oven is not working. There are only so many things you can cook on top of the stove. So I called Viking. So since I bought my range, every holiday it does not work. I called every day from Monday to Wednesday and each day, nobody calls back. And this time, Im beyond frustrated. If this was a $300 range, I would have thrown it out already and bought another one. Im on the phone with this lady rep and Im desperately telling her, I already know exactly what youre going to say. Youre going to give me your direct number and its going to the escalation team. Someone will definitely call me back. I told her, Nobody calls me back, thats the thing. They dont call me. They dont email me. Nothing. Not were working on it. Just like dead. Nothing. She promised me that she would be different and so far she has. I told her that the regional manager never called me back. Ive asked, speak to him numerous t imes, No one ever called me back. So, she said, Hold on. Im going to call the escalation team or whoever sends out servicers. And I dont know what they told her because when she got back on the phone she said, I didnt like the answer they told me. So, Im going to take this to my supervisor, I promise Ill call you back. She did email me and her supervisor called me twice and they did have a service provider call me. And over the phone they tried to figure out what the problem is. Telling me to try to do different things. And they ordered the part that they think is the problem with this range. And now, Im waiting for it to come in. But still, no working range. These people except for the most recent lady that I spoke to, have no compassion, no understanding. I didnt buy a used one. And when you spent that money, you expect a higher quality of merchandise. Im a reasonable person, and I understand sometimes, things have flukes. But I cannot get over the horrendous customer service. So far the lady has lived up to what she said shes going to do. She responds to my email which is a plus because no one else ever did that. But at this point, would I ever buy a Viking again? Absolutely freaking not. And I wouldnt even want one for free. Because if something goes wrong with it, you cannot even get through to try to get it taken care of. That is the most aggravating part besides from it not working. I dont expect to snap my fingers and the service provider would be in my house. But with this range, even when I had the problems with the first one, I had to demand and get irate that I wanted a new one. After the second service provider came and it still didnt work, at that point they should have been like, Youve already been without an oven for six weeks now during the holidays. Youve missed Christmas, Thanksgiving and youre going to miss New Years at this point too. So, you know what? We are just going to send you a replacement. It was still another month after Christmas that I got my replacement. And I originally called Viking to complain about the issue, November 15th. So, from before November all the way until the end of January, no oven.

When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher
When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher grade, I went with the higher grade which was Viking. I have already known that Viking Refrigerators were better and I like them. I like how easily I can move the shelf and I like the partial shelf a lot which drops under so I can put more tall things on the inside shelf. But one thing I don’t like about the Viking Refrigerator is the icemaker. The refrigerator is a three-door and I love the way the bottom freezer opens but every time I do the ice, it knocks an ice cube underneath. It’s crazy and I can’t get it to stop doing that. I’ve called it in but they told me that it is a standard problem. If I would have known that problem, I wouldn’t have bought it because it’s aggravating for me to chase around ice cubes under the refrigerator. They shouldn’t be there but it spits them out to the floor in front but if I pull the door out, they drop down behind the door. Also, the freezer part needs development because the top tray sticks and it’s hard to remove sometimes, and it’s brand new. I’ve seen the double drawer and I don’t know if I can have that in the freezer part at the bottom where the one big solid door with two racks inside is. They have a slim drawer on the outside and it’s the rest of the door, and even that would be a better model. Then, the first time I got my refrigeration filters, it took three months to get the filters replaced. It was some back order and I never knew the status of it. It was really aggravating and absolutely crazy how long it took to get the filter cartridge because it’s brand new. I really wanted them replaced for a while and it took at least two months come through. I didn’t even know that the order was still placed because I never got any feedback. So, there was really poor communication. I called Viking customer service and it was crazy. When I called the warranty department, the phone went automatically to their “We’re out for lunch.” I ended up calling a different department and said, “I’ve left messages on the line. I’m in the east coast. You can’t be out for lunch at 1 because it’s 8 AM.” They called me back and Desiree was lovely and was wondering why I was getting that message so I told her to try the number I called. There was another person who helped me, because the house was in North Carolina, and we’ve had an easy 10 hours in trying to contact Viking, which is beyond reasonable. I’m surprised they haven’t called to follow up on the status yet. Viking sent three different people to see if they would fix the machine. The first two wouldn’t even come for service because they don’t service Viking. Now, I fully expect the service for any repairs to be that awful. I should have shopped for a different model or looked for different ones because they’re a pain in the butt.

I bought a Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator at the same time. I heard it was a pretty good brand and I liked their looks. Ive had them for six months and so far so good. We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. I think that goes for all stainless appliances though.

The exterior view of the Viking Refrigerator matched my oven which is the main reason I bought it. But for what we paid for, I expected better workmanship and service. Bought a Viking range due to their good warranty and so far, the quality is good. But I had a little bit of an issue in the beginning. The range wasnt holding the right temperature and it had to do with a computer glitch within the motherboard. So I called up Viking, and with the warranty, they sent someone within the week, and he fixed it, and I havent had a problem since. Everything in general is very high-quality made. We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. We had problems with another appliance - and were treated pretty terribly as well. After much wrangling, we returned the device - and got our money back - but I can tell you... it wasnt easy!

I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.

I’ve owned three Viking Ranges before and it’s less expensive than a Wolf. For the dollar, the qualitys okay. I would probably have a different type of seal around the burner, a different oxider paint on the grating on the top, a more commercial look or feel to it as well as the balance of internal oven temperature to change its quality. But I like that it’s got a good clean look from the front appearance and its ability to find different configurations on the top burner versus flat top versus grill.Right now, I’m waiting 16 days for a service from the dealer for fulfillment on it. The hinges on the oven door are not working properly. They’ve passed me off to a secondary person, which is from elite to American which is their repair install group. Also, the first Viking fridge that I bought did not hit temp ever and it took over a week to get back up. I also bought a Viking refrigerator drawer set that as full and brand new box set, and it broke down, and they would not repair it. It was too expensive for the warranty to work, so they wanted to credit me back my money. It was a poor experience with their dealer.

Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. 3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. What a horrible company and product line. You pay full price for high end products and you get junk with a company that does not stand by its appliances. Stay far far away from Viking. Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working. 3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldnt be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isnt as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We would like a refund in order to purchase a different appliance but do not expect that. A replacement is being requested.

We remodeled our kitchen and have replaced all of our appliances with new Viking models to include: a 6-burner, 2-oven range; a 36 built in freezer, a 36 built in refrigerator, 2 dishwashers, a microwave and a double electric oven with French doors on top. I have had problems with not one, but ALL of my appliances within the first two years of owning each of them. The problems that were covered under warranty eventually got fixed, but the service provided in Rancho Santa Fe by the southern California servicer recommend on the Viking website (Executive Appliance), has been slow and unreliable. I was without a freezer for two weeks and only got it fixed because I repeatedly called them to chase the electrical board part and their technician (after losing several hundred dollars worth of food). The refrigerators hinge had a metal part that literally broke apart and fell on the floor. Again another, several week wait to get this fixed. Both dishwashers stopped working within the first two years and have been repaired and are working, but one has control buttons that constantly stick and the paint labeling the buttons is rubbing off. The electric oven does not heat evenly and the food at the back gets cooked faster, so you have to rotate your cakes and cookies or use the convection feature to minimize burning at the back. The small oven in my gas range does not work consistently, so I just use the electric ones now. So, if you intend to use your appliances regularly, I would advise avoiding Viking. Like other reviewers, its just a fancy name badge on your appliance, whats beneath is not well constructed or reliable. I am so DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER again purchase a Viking product. I cannot imagine how they will stay in business with such unreliable products. I am just furious about the time and effort Ive had to spend getting things fixed that are not even old. I guess I should have kept the very old appliances - - at least they worked.

Ive had Viking refrigerators in the past and Im happy with Viking. Theyre quiet and they run fine. When they dont, theyre always willing to fix them and the warranty work is good. When I request service, things have been taken care of quickly. But, I dont like the model that we chose this time because I dont feel like its as good of a fit for us. Its not a great layout. Ive had it built in before and it has a larger capacity.

I like it. The only issue we had with it was when we first got it, when we turned on the oven and after it warmed up, I could hear the metal expanded and it would pop. But now, weve had it so long that the heat has expanded the metal already, so we dont hear any kind of weird noises. But its been a great range. Weve cooked some awesome meals on it. We always had electric, so this gas is a new thing for us and we really enjoyed it. Their team has been great too. Anything Ive needed help with, they were always there to help me out. I had a few issues with the appliances when they got delivered, they were damaged. It was a great experience with them.

This is the worst refrigerator that Ive ever purchased. We ordered all of our Viking appliances while our kitchen was being remodeled. It arrived on February of this year, when our new kitchen remodel was finished. After delivery, I saw that the refrigerator doors were not parallel to each other. From then on I kept on calling them so they could fix it. They finally fixed it but then again the freezer started frosting very badly. So I called them again, after 2 weeks I received the new part and they finally came and installed a new part for freezer. So now my refrigerator started frosting again. I keep telling them that this refrigerator needs to be exchanged but they just keep sending me a technician to come fix it. They cant. I made a big mistake getting the Viking refrigerator.

We did a direct replacement of our Viking because when we had it put in and turn the oven on, it wouldnt work. We had to wait three weeks because the guy couldnt come. When he finally came, he had to replace the thermostat. But it was kind of a fiasco when they came to install. The gas pipe wasnt on code so we had to redo the gas pipe and they havent come back. But the technicians have been excellent to work with. The guy couldnt help that our gas line was not right. He was trying to do the best he can to get back. It was delayed a week or two weeks to get it hooked up.We have used it for months now and its been great. Its easier to clean. It looks nice to me. I like the new knobs and that they have a little light that lights that up. Thats a nice feature. Its nice to have a beautiful, clean oven, and its gas. We have the sealed burners, which makes it nice too. Ive always had a Viking for so long. Ive always liked them.

Were purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. Weve always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. Weve had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since its under warranty but its a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So theres a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasnt installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didnt go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We dont know if we would do it again.

I was looking at Thermador, Viking, and Wolf, and read reviews on all of these. But aesthetically, I liked Viking better in the price that I was looking for. I love it. I like the burners, the handles, the very large oven, as well as the top and bottom trays that move on the inside. I have the 36-inch, with a six-burner and the size is great. I went from cooking on electric to liquid propane, so its a little different. It took me a bit of time to get used to the timing for the oven, but now that I do, I like it because it cooks so much quicker on the stovetop. The oven is a little bit slower, but it seems to make the heat evenly dispersed, so it cooks much better salmon, chicken, and quiche. Any issue that I had, Viking resolved immediately. They were honest, efficient, very responsive to any calls, and had great customer service. They were really good to work with, and the installers did a great job. I couldnt be happier.

Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but it’s funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part that’s the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didn’t do that so the coating isnt as good as it used to be.

The product (Viking VGIC 3054BSS gas range) was flawed from the day it was delivered. Factory installed one natural gas orifice and one LPG orifice. This company has no regard for its owner base. Try calling to ask for technical information: its basically, Go to hell, we dont care if it doesnt make us money. There is nothing that would make me want to recommend any product from Viking. Frankly, I think either FTC or CPSC should investigate. Who owns this company and what in the world makes them think they can stiff owners the way they do?

I also looked at the name brand and features that were offered. Viking was the way to go. I like that the refrigerator is counter-depth. It really blends in the look with the appearance in my kitchen. It looks like its built in. Its definitely an upgrade to what I had before. You can tell that the refrigerator is high quality. The interactions with the Viking dealer was good, but when they delivered the dishwasher it was damaged. They made good and replaced it with a brand new one though. Id tell friends that Im impressed with Viking and that it definitely is the right way to go.

Bought a brand new Viking two door, one drawer bottom freezer fridge. After a while the icemaker quit. They sent a tech. They told me they needed all sorts of parts from Viking. Then I got a call from Viking. Your fridge has been discontinued! Less than a year after coming onto the market. They told us they would send us a new fridge. We got the new fridge on 1 Sept 2014. Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. I have to agree with everyone else here. Viking sucks and I have a full Viking kitchen that I wish I could afford to replace them all!

I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

I got a Viking fridge knowing that it was one of the more expensive, better products for kitchen appliances. The purchasing process has been fine but the appliances have not been that great. Within one month of moving in, the defrost sensor crapped out and we lost all the food in our fridge. There was still a warranty for it but we had to lose money. The problem was we purchased a home from a builder and it came with Viking appliances. So that stuff was out of warranty and the builder didnt cover anything. Based on what Ive read, I would go with a Wolf instead of Viking.

But some people were saying after your guarantee expired, youre not gonna be able to use Viking and that they dont come out and fix the refrigerator. But I like the refrigerator. I wanted it to be a little bigger, but its still fine. I like it because if I leave the refrigerator open, it makes a noise if the door was not closed properly. I tried to register my equipment online because they were saying theres a rebate. I completed the rebate and sent it a couple of months ago but I have not received any rebate yet. Even so, the interaction with the customer service was good. I would recommend Viking Refrigerators to others. As matter of fact, Im in the process of building another home and Ill definitely buy a Viking again.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. In short my recommendation to all Americans is dont buy Viking, it is a very bad company with a big line of bad products and bad customer service. In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I have Viking in other homes, and this time, they were running a rebate which was a considerable amount of money. Also, Viking was acquired by another company and word on the street was their quality issues had been fixed. I also looked at Wolf and Thermador and read horrendous reviews about them, but they’re great products too. Ultimately the price point made the big difference for me and I bought a range from Viking. The qualitys pretty good. Upon unboxing and installation, there were two burners that were inoperable so that was not a good start. I then got a service call in and haven’t heard anything from them and it’s been two weeks. But I have been able to use it. I like the rapid heat oven which is very nice. I also like the true convection oven portion of it. It has three different convection modes, but the true conduct is very nice. And the overall appearance was very sharp. The dealer was good too. I did most of my research online and I have a rep that I used. I simply called him and said, “Order it.” Its a great product, well-made craftsmanship, and a value in the realm of high end, other than the burners. We purchased a home with a Viking range and dishwasher. We have lived here five years and we have our dishwasher serviced at least once a year. Wires continue to burn up. Weve placed major parts and the pump, and last night something in the front panel started a fire and melted a hole in the inside metal. We had a house full of smoke, but thankfully we were home before the kitchen went up in flames. Weve already spent the cost of the washer in repairs and will not even call a technician this time. We will be buying a new dishwasher, but never again a Viking appliance. Our range has not had all the same problems, but the igniters are unreliable. The oven takes 1/2 hour to reach the desired temperature. The door is heavy and were just waiting for it to break. The writing has worn off in many places on the knob panel. I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. Viking is a brand name thats been known for quite some time. We did a fair amount of research and, in my personal opinion, Viking is overpriced fairly significantly. But beyond that, the simplicity of it was important and there arent a lot of electronics involved although one major flaw is having no timer. Our Viking range is not very big but its certainly well-made, well-constructed and very durable. My wife does a lot of baking and she is getting used to the stove. There were some spills on it and we tried to clean them up. We got the manual out and read it. It said to put a wet towel down for a period of time, but that doesnt work at all. It said not to scrub it with abrasive scrubbers and so were trying to figure out how to keep it spotless as we can. I paid to have the range installed and had it all prepared for the installers. I had cut the countertop, vacuumed everything out, and removed the old stove so they had a pretty easy job. One thing I dont understand is Vikings concept of forcing people to buy a stove with a washer. We wanted a stove and we didnt need or want a dishwasher, but that was part of the deal. It was a deal-breaker for me, but my wife was pretty much convinced thats the stove that she wanted. It doesnt make any sense to force somebody to get a washer and I would have rather taken the cost of the dishwasher off the stove and felt much better about that.

Theres something in the Viking brand name and about having a high-end appliance in my kitchen for resale. Its a fine refrigerator and it keeps my food cold. However, I feel like I have a refrigerator that I could have bought from a Home Depot. I could have gotten LG or the GE. Six months after owning it, the drawer broke. Ive got older kids and were not abusive to our refrigerator, but actually, it worked out better. Its easier not having the flap on the door that broke, so we kept it that way. My ice maker broke about three months ago too.We have had the refrigerator for two years and Ive been dealing with repairs, which has been going on now for a couple of weeks because it takes a couple of weeks to get somebody out and he just came. Now, its taking three weeks to order parts. And so the name, Viking Refrigerators, sounds terrible. It looks prestigious but I dont feel that I have any type of better quality appliance than if I had gone with a different brand. It hasnt done anything exceptional. I am a general contractor and custom home builder and also own a remodeling company. We are in the building business and one of our primary vendor reps here in North Carolina is Appliance World. We do quite a bit of business with them and the relationship from them and getting to know them is how we heard about Viking. We have a client that goes through the design process and they are assisted by Appliance World with the selection of their appliances. We work with them four days a week with our clients visiting their location. Theyve obviously stood behind Viking and have a showroom and merchandising set up. Recently they downsized their showroom and kept the Viking line pretty prominent with still having 10 or 15 other lines. We bought about $20,000 worth from Viking the last couple of months and so far, so good. The registration online is great. From a consumer standpoint, some of the information can be hard to extrapolate from the website. For selling $8,000 to $40,000 refrigerators, there could be some better photos and better highlights of what makes the company different. That market has become quite crowded and most folks have some brand loyalty, whether its Sub-zero or Dacor or some of the others. Viking could do a better job of letting the consumer know via the website what those features and benefits are and where variance is between them and the next guy.

Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

We heard that Viking Ranges was one of the best but my wife and I dont feel that way anymore, and well never buy a Viking again. It was a terrible experience. We bought our range and had it over five years. Something happened to the temperature button so that we could only cook at 350 or above. They came in to fix that button and it was gonna be $1,000 to fix it.When they went to fix the button, they moved the stove and they said that on the bottom theres electronic wires that shorted out the oven when they moved it. The service people said it was a defect on the way they made them and now they make them with some type of insulator that protects the wires from shorting out. But thats not available to our range so we had to purchase another one, and we wound up getting a newer model that has that. But we had spent over $2,000 on the newer model that doesnt have a gauge that people can see the temperature on. We have to put something inside of it to see the temperature. There was also no clock on it. And It was more expensive than ours. Its ridiculous.I could buy something for a quarter of the price that I would be more happy with because weve used Wolf before as a higher-end unit in a lot of our rentals. Weve used much less expensive stuff which weve had for 20 years and we didnt have these kinds of problems. Viking is just a name brand and they probably shop out all their service and have no parts after five years on a unit people purchased. Its unbelievable. I dont know how they got their name but Im sure not from what weve experienced. Its just an oven and it doesnt do anything special. It cooks like everything else is supposed to. Name brands impress people. We could have bought a new oven from somebody else with the money we spent to fix our situation.

We were looking for a new refrigerator and I looked online and found out that Viking was the leader in kitchen appliances but nobody seemed to really know anything about their refrigeration. Then we went to a couple of places here in town, I researched it on their website and we fell in love with their ref so, we ordered it. This is my first Viking appliance. I had heard of Viking in the restaurant business and people seemed to be impressed. The quality of the product is excellent. The space is perfect. For the size that it is, it holds a lot of food and were really happy. When we build the new house, Ill probably buy two Viking refrigerators. The only problem we had, and this seems to be not specific to Viking, were the people. We like trying the new things on the market but things that last, and so, we were very pleased with this purchase. But the salespeople werent prepared. Theres more of a market here in San Diego but their salespeople just werent ready to sell it. Either they were too busy or weren’t educated. When we find something that we want, we usually are more educated than the sales people and that seems to be the case with their people. Its something that could still be improved.

The knobs on my Viking range that turn on the burners scrape pretty badly. You hear them and feel them scraping as you turn them. They don’t turn easily. There are eight of them and a couple of them do. The range was installed by the builder of our home. It’s a brand-new home, so we didnt get to pick out the stove. I like that it’s nice-looking and it’s big. But I’m used to having a clock and a timer and a cook time on and cook time off, and underneath, to store stuff or have a warming drawer. It doesn’t have any of that stuff. It’s just a stove with burners and it’s a commercial grade.

The Viking refrigerator is good. It told me when there was a power failure and that was cool. It said, Power, when I opened it up. Something was also flashing on the screen. The capacity is good, too.

We have an induction range and a microwave. The microwave is not user friendly, I cant read the timer, hate that the control pad is behind the door. It looks sleek but I wish I never bought it. The induction range - the burners barely do anything unless you put the control at Med, Hi or higher. The knobs wiggle and are loose. They sent me new knobs but that didnt fix the problem. The oven seems to work fine, but I would much prefer a digital readout because there is no really accurate control of the temperature.

We purchased a new home and we told our contractor that we wanted Viking appliances since I had rented an apartment that featured Viking in the kitchen years ago. Price-wise, its reasonable and the quality is outstanding. I like that its very spacious. I had that issue with a refrigerator that I previously owned, as all of these newer refrigerators dont hold that much. I also like the new space for pizza boxes and party platters. But I was disappointed that there is no water dispenser in this model that I have. Also, for some strange reason, it makes a noise even though the door is closed, and its unclear why thats happening. Overall Ive been very pleased. Its a great combination of affordability and quality, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for higher-end appliances.

The fridge experienced two problems after only six years of use that cost over $2090 in repairs. The dishwasher only washes pre cleaned and washed dishes. In other words all it does is disinfect... There are better and less expensive ways!!! And if one has a complaint the standard answer is the lack of FINISH products. Is this real or some kind of scam!!!

The Viking Range is really good and I like their burner power feature. However, we ended up getting one that we didnt even buy which is the appliance dealers fault. We bought the six-burner series with the griddle in the middle but ended up with an eight-burner that they installed. We were not here during the install, which is fine. I’m not upset about that. But trying to get the griddle and our money back has been a chore and we have been at it for two months and cant understand why it hasnt been done. The guy who owns the place is extremely knowledgeable and taught us a lot when we went to see him and he did a wonderful job on the install but the follow-up items after the fact have just been a nightmare for us. But as far as the range goes, my wife absolutely loves it.

Our fridge was on its way out. Plus, we had a space issue and we wanted to find a fridge that would fit in it without having to cut our cabinets. The size was the biggest factor. We tried Viking Refrigerators just to try something different. It was also because we’ve heard good things about the brand and with the way it looked. We bought it online through some appliance website and they were okay. However, the installers were poor and didn’t put the ice machine in right, so it didn’t work. But that has nothing to do with Viking. The refrigerator has a freezer at the bottom which I like as it gives me more room at the top. It’s easier to organize my food because there’s a lot of refrigeration space. I like that both doors open. I also like how its working out. It’s easier just for me. It has a lot of flexibility. The ref is not built-in, but it looks built-in. It fits perfectly with the way we have our cabinets. So far, the refrigerator is of good quality. It is a nice product. It keeps even temperature. Its pricey but I like the way it looks and everyone in my family likes it.

Ive been very familiar with Viking for many years but Im very unhappy with their service, and the service who I bought the Viking from. I knew it was a floor model at the showroom and they told me that it had been out there for less than a year and had never been used, and it was like new and would have the full warranty. But several pieces broke within 24 hours of me getting this $10,000 refrigerator. It keeps things cold but all of the door inserts, such as the shelves in the door, all were broken. When I called Viking, they said that this was a five-year old model. It had been sitting on the showroom for that long, which was never disclosed and they wont cover anything. It was a very disappointing experience and makes me want to avoid using Viking. It’s a nice refrigerator. Unfortunately, they are selling it through dealers that dont understand their process and theyre not standing behind it and not willing to stand up to their dealer. So, its not a company I would want to do business with again.

Outside of the range, all the Viking Products we have purchased, including build in microwave, built in oven, and dishwater failed numerous times and service has been horrible to say the least. Parts take months to get if you can get them at all and service reps pretty much just play guessing games on what to do. Do yourself a favor and go buy a GE or KitchenAid. Viking is all smoke and mirrors and not a high end brand they claim to be.
