Commercial Chef Microwave Repairs

If you're looking for help fixing your Commercial Chef Microwave, look no further! Our comprehensive Commercial Chef Microwave repair guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and maybe show you how to repair your appliance.

For the home, kitchen and beyond, Commercial Chef manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Commercial Chef appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.

Line Fuse
If too much current passes through the microwave circuitry, the line fuse will blow. If the line fuse blows, the microwave won’t start. To determine if the line fuse is at fault, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the fuse does not have continuity, replace it. In addition, you should investigate and resolve the problem that caused the fuse to blow. If you don’t resolve the underlying issue, the new fuse will blow too. (Caution: The microwave oven can store thousands of volts of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the line fuse.)

Main Control Board
The main control board might be defective. However, this is rarely the case. Control boards are often misdiagnosed—check all of the more commonly defective parts. If you have determined that all of the other components are working properly, replace the main control board. (Caution: The microwave oven can store thousands of volts of electricity in its high voltage capacitor, even after the microwave oven has been unplugged. Due to the potential for electric shock, it is extremely dangerous to replace the electronic components in a microwave. Only a licensed technician should replace the main control board.)

Thermal Fuse
The thermal fuse cuts off power to the microwave if the microwave overheats. To determine if the thermal fuse has blown, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the fuse does not have continuity, replace it. The thermal fuse cannot be reset—if the fuse is blown, it must be replaced. Thermoprotector
If the microwave overheats, the thermoprotector trips to cut off voltage to the microwave. To determine if the thermoprotector is at fault, use a multimeter to test it for continuity. If the thermoprotector does not have continuity, and it cannot be reset, replace it.

I run this on a GoalZero Lithium 1400 solar battery. It consumes about 900 watts when running (not the advertised 600). It consumes the same amount of power despite the mode (hi, med, low). I used this in a solar-powered van conversion and it really helps with my traveling. From the ability to heat up leftovers to quickly making frozen burritos to softening potatoes, I use this thing more than my propane stove. What I like about it is that I don't have to fill up my propane when using it. I just use it for a couple minutes a day, and my solar panels restore the battery for tomorrow. Even if it runs for 10-15 minutes in a day it barely puts a dent in my solar capacity.

My previous microwave was purchased in 1998 so this one had different features. I really like it and it fits into my decor very nicely. The only thing it's missing is a 30 second button. i loved that feature on my old one... but this one is better looking and works fine. Also has a timer that can be set while cooking on the stove, which is a nice feature.

I just wanted to chip in a 5-star review after seeing the top reviews talking about how their microwaves kept breaking--and I'm really sorry they had that experience, because this microwave is a real workhorse. I've currently had mine for going on five years now and had absolutely no problems whatsoever. The only reason I'm thinking of buying a new one is that the interior paint is starting to scuff off on the "ceiling" and the interior of the door--likely because when I clean, I scrub hard. I use my microwave multiple times a day and daily, so it gets hard use. I've had super-expensive microwaves that didn't hold up over a year.

This 600 watt micro wave works real good and is very simple to use. Now, for those of you operating off solar power or an inverter ( semi-truck sleeper), mine uses 1070 watts of power no matter if it is set to low, or high power. My solar generator will handle it as long as I just heat stuff up and do not try cooking. Watt usage is always good to know 600 watts = 1070 watts. Good micro wave.

I purchased this microwave when mine went out and it came in very quickly. It is very pretty and matches my kitchen very nicely. I have three kids who believe in microwaving everything. So it gets used all the time. I love that the popcorn button on it is absolutely perfect. Every microwave I have ever had the popcorn button either doesn't cook it long enough or burns it. For me that is a huge plus. It is very light weight and works very well. I love this product and it was a great price, especially for a single mother of three. I would definitely recommend this microwave to anyone looking for great quality and price.
