Electrolux Range Repairs
If you're looking for help fixing your Electrolux Range, look no further! Our comprehensive Electrolux Range repair guide will explain common issues, provide tips, and maybe show you how to repair your appliance.
For the home, kitchen and beyond, Electrolux manufactures appliances that homeowners have come to trust. Even a trustworthy appliance requires occasional maintenance or repair, however. If you’re in need of Electrolux appliance repair from experienced professionals, your local Appliance Helper can help.
Electrolux Oven not heating
Igniter. The igniter is the most commonly defective part for an oven not heating. The igniter has two main functions. First, the igniter draws electrical current through the oven safety valve to open it. Second, the igniter gets hot enough to glow and ignite the gas in the oven burner. If the igniter gets weak, it will fail to open the safety valve correctly. If the valve does not open, the oven will not heat. To determine if the igniter is defective, observe the igniter when the oven is on. If the igniter glows for more than 90 seconds without igniting the gas flame, this indicates that the igniter is too weak to open the valve. If the igniter is weak, replace it. If the igniter does not glow at all, use a multimeter to test the igniter for continuity. If the igniter does not have continuity, replace it.
Electrolux Oven doesn't bake evenly
Bake Element. If the bake element is burned out, the oven will only be heated by the broil element. This will cause the oven to heat unevenly. When the bake element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the bake element for holes or blisters. To determine if the bake element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the bake element does not have continuity, replace it.
Electrolux Oven broiler not working
Broil Element. The broiler element may have burned out. When the broil element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the broil element for holes or blisters. To determine if the broil element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the broil element does not have continuity, replace it.
Electrolux Stove heating element not working
Surface Element Board. The surface element board has relays that regulate the power supply to the burners. If one or more of the relays fails, the surface element won’t work. If two or more burners fail at the same time, this indicates that the surface element board is likely at fault. If only one surface element won’t work, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the surface element has continuity, the surface element board might be defective.
Electrolux Stove burner won't light
Spark Module. The spark modules provides power to each surface burner spark electrode. If the burner is produces a weak spark, or if the burner sparks intermittently, the spark module might be defective. Before replacing the spark module, first check the spark electrode and the spark wire. If the spark electrode and spark wire are not at fault, the spark module is likely defective. If the spark module is defective, replace it.
Electrolux Oven temperature not accurate
Bake Element. When the bake element is heating properly, it glows red hot. If the element does not glow red, this indicates that the element is not heating. Often, if the heating element has burned out, it will be visibly damaged. Inspect the heating element for holes or blisters. To determine if the bake element has burned out, use a multimeter to test the element for continuity. If the bake element does not have continuity, replace it.
Electrolux Oven light is out
Light Assembly. If the oven light is out, the entire light assembly may need to be replaced. Often the light assembly components are not sold separately.
Electrolux Oven won't turn on
Bake Element.
Electrolux Oven not self-cleaning
Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly. During the oven's self-cleaning cycle, the door lock switch activates the door lock motor to prevent the oven door from being opened. If the door lock motor and switch assembly is defective, the oven door will not unlock once the self-cleaning cycle is complete. On most ovens, you can open the oven door by removing certain screws or panels. Check your owner's manual for further instructions.

We had our house built 6 years ago and I just had to have the Electrolux appliance. The only thing that in my opinion that has worked well is the dish machine. The oven, cooktop, and microwave not so much. For the price I was expecting as other consumers have stated a much better product. I did not get the warranties because them in themselves were expensive as well.Lets start with the microwave because it had the least problems and lasted the longest. Two years ago the door panel came partly loose. Only I had it fixed was because I had gotten the home warranty for all household appliances and it was covered under that warranty. Along with the other two appliances that I am going to talk about. Last year the spring broke so the door would not close. My husband tried to fix it and in the midst of doing that he broke the top piece. A friend came over and saw that the door was taped shut. He asked what was wrong with it; I told him and he fixed for me. The top piece could not be fixed because it was plastic. Thank goodness he didnt charge me. He said it was a minor fix. The top piece I just laid it back on top. You couldnt tell it was detached. Now this year the microwave stop working all together. I put something in it to warm up and it did not come on DEAD. I never cooked in it anyway but dead after 5 1/2 years.Next we are going to talk about the cooktop. I picked out the 36 in induction cooktop. It was working good. I was excited I had gotten it then after 6 months the burners seem to no be cooking as well. I had to cook the food on high if I was using more than one burner because it was not cooking well and taking forever to cook. Thank goodness not was burning. I thought something was wrong but I could not figure out what it was. Then one day when I was cooking for the holidays, midway through cooking the hold cooktop shut off. At that point I had to wait for the fans to cool the cooktop off. Once that happen I had to cook everything one at a time till I was finish cooking. Needless to say I was upset. That Monday I called the Electrolux and they called a service tech out because it was still just under their warranty . When he finally came out he told me that it was a good thing it had shut itself off because it could have set the house on fire. Like that is something a home owner wants to hear. He told me he had to order the part. It took three weeks for that part to come in. No problems after that until the fourth year and it did it again. By this time I had gotten the home warranty I spoke of earlier and thank goodness for that because we had problem after problem. This time one side of the cooktop could not work. The service people sent someone to fix it. Then two months later the other side when out. They sent the same person out again. Then the other side that had been fixed went out again so he had to come back. This was every two months for 8 months. Then finally he realized something was burning out the circuit boards and fix it. No more problems but on the induction side you cannot burn the 2 burners on the same temperature or you will get an error. Thats a small price to pay for not being able to use your appliance that you paid hard earn money for 8 months. Finally we get to the double oven. The first problem I had was the Led lights went out. That was still under factory warranty. This happen two months after we moved in. The next problem again like the cooktop, the oven sensor went out, this was 6 months after we moved in. They came and fixed that. I had no problems until again like the cooktop in the 4th year. I was cooking on normal bake and the oven seem like it wasnt getting hot. Then I started using the convection bake then it seem like it was doing the same thing. One day I was standing there looking at the stove wondering what to do, my daughter said Momma I told you the bottom oven works better than the top. At that point I turned both ovens on and the bottom oven heated up faster than the top. So for a while we used the bottom oven for cooking until it was doing the same thing as the top. The problem with the oven was happening at the same time with the cooktop but it had to be 2 different work orders. The oven took longer to get fixed than the cooktop because we had to wait longer until the part to come in. So I didnt have a oven for 11 months. Because you could not use 1 oven without the other because they were on the same circuit board. Since then we can use both ovens but the bottom oven is still hotter than the top and it still heats up quicker.
I have had two top of the line Electrolux appliances for four years, a nearly $3,000 stove, model #VF02062872 and a very expensive French door refrigerator, model #EW23BC70IS1. Both of these appliances have suffered with reoccurring problems of which Electrolux was apparently aware but unable to provide a permanent solution. The stove became totally inoperable after completing the self-cleaning function. Nothing works! The door is locked shut. The surface units dont work and I cant even use the clock or timer. This has happened 4 or 5 times already. The first two times this happened, it was under warranty and they did fix it. After that they wanted me to purchase an expensive service contract. Thats totally ridiculous to cover a recurring problem. The problem has continued to recur. Apparently the heat from the self-cleaning function destroys a computer board in the control panel. To date, it appears that Electrolux has been unable to solve this problem. When the same problem happens again and again with the same appliance it should be considered to be a lemon. The last time this happened it took them 6 weeks to get me the parts. After fighting with them for about 45 minutes this morning, they agreed to send me the parts for half price but wont cover the service. The ice maker in the refrigerator has been repaired or replaced several times. The water dispenser is not even designed to get the water cold. I thought I was buying quality products. One of the letters I received from them about the problems says, Please be assured that you have invested in one of the finest appliances manufactured in the world today. I bought these products because the company had a reputation for dependable performance and enduring quality. The products I have would indicate otherwise. In view of its service and the quality of the products weve purchased recently, I could not, in good faith, recommend Electrolux. The consequences were that the stove continues to be defective and will probably burn up again. What Order Number do you want below?
This double wall oven (EI27EW45JS) has many problems and does not work properly. Temperature controls are out of sink. Overheating in upper stove with discoloration of finish, lower oven is not getting the required heat. Bread proof is not holding temp at 100 degrees and overheats. No help from manufacturer after more than 1 hour on the phone talking to 5 different people.
8-10 years nothing is in stock for your Electrolux appliance. Avoid Electrolux. Many issues exists from quality to replacement products. My entire kitchen is Electrolux. I had a bad fridge first, the dishwasher doesn’t clean well. Now a range that has no filter replacements.
I purchased a house with Electrolux Icon appliances. In the first two months, the ice maker required four service calls to get working reliably; the microwave required one to the get door aligned so it would operate, and the dishwasher required two service calls. These were all paid for by Electrolux. After 18 months, the dishwasher is now giving the error 1 code, which appears to very problematic and difficult to diagnose/repair, and one burner on the stove smells like gas, even when it is on, rendering it unusable. At the prices that these appliances cost, one would expect them to run when new, and to last more than 18 months.
We purchased an Electrolux gas oven in 2013 and in October 2014, the ignition stopped working. The appliance was still under warranty and a technician came out to repair it. A month later, it stopped working again and just before Christmas a technician came again to fix it. We had to call them out 4 times by which time the ovens warranty had lapsed, so not only did they not fix it, they sent us an invoice for repairs they had not actually competently done. The technician who comes is rude and aggressive and clearly cannot fix the problem. We too, thought that paying $820 would ensure a better quality of product, but the product and their service is appalling and they have wasted our time and money. We intend to seek legal advice.
In late 2008 we purchased an Electrolux refrigerator, glass cooktop, double oven, microwave & dishwasher. We bought all the appliances in late October 2008 but did not receive them until late November. We had been promised them within a week & were concerned we would not get everything in time for Thanksgiving as we were having family stay with us for the holiday. In any case, the refrigerator was delivered & set up while we were still living at our old house. It arrived with a dent in it. A very noticeable dent. We were told it might be several weeks to get the replacement. Everything was top of the line so not in stock in the store. Under the circumstances, we elected to keep it. However, when they installed the water line for the ice maker, they did not remove the plug so the water poured out all over our wood floors until we came to the new house the following day & were met with the mess & flood. Within just a few months, the dishwasher had to be serviced. Again, not a good sign but sometimes things happen. Shortly thereafter, the blue digital display on the double ovens had some lights stop working & the display was messed up. I called, I was told a part would be sent & when we received it, to call back & a repairman would be dispatched. The part did not arrive when expected, another bad thing, I called after a few days, giving ample time & was told the part had not been sent but now would be for sure. About a month later I received a part. I called for service. No one showed up. A couple of weeks later, I called again. I was told AGAIN that the repairman would come. A couple of days later, I received a SECOND part. No repairman. EVER. Anyway, the digital blue displays on the glass stovetop soon followed suit & stopped working as well. Now I have to guess what temperature I am really cooking things at. The only appliance with the Electrolux name on it that has not had an issue so far is the microwave. I hate to even say it, as I probably just jinxed it. The refrigerator is now not working at all. It kept turning off & on, off & on. Then it popped up a CE error on the beautiful blue display that I was once so fond of. We have ordered a part & my husband is saying he will install it himself, again. The top oven of the double oven stopped keeping the correct temperature about a year ago. For example, I can set it for 350 degrees but in actuality, it may not even be 125 degrees. I feel so disgusted that I spent all my retirement money to have the kitchen of my dreams & instead got the kitchen of my nightmares. Compounding my deep disappointment is the fact that I know I can never afford to buy all new appliances again AND that since we bought all of these items at the same time, they will probably all start falling apart at the same time. I bought the hype, I believed I was buying quality & I regret it & will regret it forever. In my blind faith, I bought the kitchen I wanted because I knew I would never ever have such an opportunity again to furnish my kitchen with top of the line state of the art appliances. Refrigerators, microwaves, stovetops, double ovens & dishwashers should all last longer than 5 years. That is just my humble opinion but it is also my humble opinion that I will NEVER purchase another Electrolux anything. I spent a small fortune on Electrolux products to have ALL of them, except the microwave, have issues right off the bat & have a top quality refrigerator fail within 5 years. Kelly Ripa should be ashamed of herself for making money off this terrible product.
Purchased the unit in September 2020. Had repairman out in November. Now, in May, I’m still waiting for a fan motor assembly to resolve a fan noise that sounds like a bass boat motor when oven hits 420 degrees. I understand COVID excuses, but you sold this oven 6 months into the pandemic. Why do you make and sell new products, but claim you can’t service what you are selling? Stop building new units and use the parts to service what you’ve already sold. Don’t leave your customers holding your COVID bag of problems.
My stove is emitting a terrible burning smell. They had a service tech out and said it was bad insulation. So they replaced it and still has the same problems. I called and they came out again and said there is nothing wrong. The smell is very bad and toxic. My husband has asthma and breathing issues. I called them back and they told me they wont replace it or fix it. They are very rude. I am so frustrated and angry with this.
I will pitch in with a control panel complaint too. I had to replace panels or boards, and the clock control. It cost me about $1,000.00 to get it sorted. This on a range less than 4 years old. We expected it to last at least 8 years. And it was expensive. The repair folks indicated they see a lot of condensation problems. Electrolux hasnt got a handle on this. I contacted Electrolux and they initially seemed helpful, but they were just stringing me along. They said they would give me a reduction if I bought a new one. Right! I cant hardly afford the repairs on the one I have let alone spending another 2 grand on a new range. Stay away folks, stay away!
I have oven, microwave, refrigerator, wash machine. All of them are good to spend money fixing.
Never. Ever. Ever. Ever buy an Electrolux product. Two fridges, a double oven and a stove have all failed numerous times. They have all of our records and we have had repairmen here more than 50 times. This is what they say when the oven breaks: Oh, this time its the side element. Oh, this time its the back element. Oh, sorry this time its the motherboard. The fridge? I tried to attach a video of the noise that our fridge makes all the time, after they have been out probably 8 times to fix it (maybe more, not kidding) but it wouldnt attach. DONT BUY ELECTROLUX.
We have had nothing but problems with our Electrolux appliances. This is not just one model, but many different appliances. When we moved into our new house we unfortunately purchased all Electrolux including fridge, stove, dishwasher, popup vent, and over/microwave combo. This was all about three years ago. Since purchasing new appliances, the fridge has needed repair twice, the vent hood fan went out and we replaced it with a different brand (Wolf), the stove and oven have had issues and just recently our dishwasher cooked itself. It made several popping sounds and we smelt electronics burning in the kitchen, then the dishwasher shut down and wont come on again. Its now being replaced with a Bosch dishwasher.Do yourself a favor and AVOID Electrolux and their brands. They make junk. Also be careful as some brands like Kenmore use Electrolux to manufacture their goods. Do your research and stay away. I hope my review will help someone save time and money. We spent about 12K on all these new appliances and after 3 years, we are already in the process of replacing them. Getting the fridge repaired was a major hassle with their repair department. Its going to be easier for us to just purchase new appliances and start clearing our house of Electrolux. Never again Electrolux!!! You have been banned for life from my house and Ive already told hundreds of friends to stay away from your brand.
I purchased four stainless steel Electrolux kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave & dishwasher) from EBA in Brooklyn, They were the digital models which cost more and the appliances were displayed in the show room as a package deal. OVEN: The oven is very inconvenient to cook in because there is little room to keep both racks in the oven if you cook something like a turkey, you need to take one of the racks out. You cant cook multiples things in the oven because the ball bearing oven rack (which was one of the salesmans selling point for this oven) take up too much room. Now the rack is stuck and cannot be used in the oven at all. Also, the most important issue is that when you use the stove the knobs (which are also stainless steel) become extremely HOT to the touch. I spoke with EBA/PC Richard and explained the problem. They suggested I contact Electrolux directly. Customer Services response was that they were sorry I was unhappy but that is normal to have the knobs be hot to the touch. Microwave: The plastic handle on the microwave has broken off twice already. Electrolux does nothing to honor their products or try to accommodate the customer at all. I tell everyone that will listen to me - NEVER PURCHASE ANY PRODUCTS FROM ELECTROLUX whatsoever.
I bought my Electrolux wall oven model CPEB30S9DC2 in early 2007 and it has worked without incident until Jan 16 2015. That evening we were cooking and lucky we were not out of our house and only in another room when we heard the sound of electrical short coming from the kitchen. Smoke was coming from the wall oven and thought that, an element was burning out due to its approximately 7.5 years of service. Pushing the OFF button on the face did nothing and sparks smoke and a burning plastic smell was filling the room. Went directly to the power supply and turned off the circuit breaker. Being in the manufacturing business of electric steam generating appliances for over 35 years, I investigated the construction of the printed circuit board that had caught fire in the wall oven. I was surprised to discover that there was no fused protection on this internal device. This lack of conscience in the design would have in the worst case scenario allowed a fire to start in the appliance that may have transferred to the surrounding cabinetry. Lucky for us, we had the power supply disconnected within 1 minute of the short circuit and the only damage was smoke and fumes, which we can still smell in our kitchen even after removing the wall oven, cleaning the smoke soot from the cabinetry and airing out the kitchen for 24 hours. Thought I was buying a quality product when I purchased this appliance but after reading about so many different appliance recalls on the internet, I want to take my next purchase apart and study the construction before installing in my home. There are too many horror stories out there about families that have lost so much due to appliance fires. I do not understand how this design could hold a CSA mark and have been passed for certification. My next letter is to CSA. Am I the only wall oven that has a printed circuit board that has melted and caught fire. Consumer beware!!
Bad fridge, dishwasher, oven. They never fixed anything. Its all junk!
Warning. Do not buy from this company. We bought a Frigidaire double oven. Paid $1500. The very first time we try to cook on it the unit completely shorted out. We contacted Electrolux. They sent out J&M appliances to repair the unit. They replaced the fans four times, the motherboard three or four times plus numerous other parts. J&M Appliances have been to my house 10 times to fix different things but it went wrong with the unit and four times to diagnose it. They called Electrolux for me trying to get me a new unit being it was only a few months old. Electrolux denied the new unit so, I’ve sent emails to the CEO jonas.samuelson@electrolux.com and I believe it was the Vice President jan.brockmann@electrolux.com. Neither of them have responded back to me. Here’s the kicker. I spoke with a RITA **. She’s some kind of an executive assistant pretty high up. I told her I wanted a new unit. That this was ridiculous having to leave work and meet the service rep 14 times. So she told me she was not going to replace the unit. I was out of luck. Mind you it’s still under the one-year warranty. I have proof with the receipt. She didn’t care. Also Rita ** put a block on my Electrolux account so nobody else can help me with the problem anymore. I’ve called them numerous times asking to speak or two different managers and the managers tell me that she put a lock on it and only she can get into my account now. Be warned about this company. Do not purchase any of their appliances. The one year manufacturer warranty or any other warranties do not matter to this company. Do your research. Read all the reviews on Facebook, Yelp and any other social media. I should’ve done it before I purchased with them. I would not have bought any of my appliances through them. This is one crooked company.
Last summer, we chose the appliances to remodel our kitchen and replaced our 10-year-old $1,500 Kenmore refrigerator with a $3,000 Electrolux stainless one. It was delivered in September... but wait, it was a different model. When we questioned the dealer, he told us that Electrolux had discontinued the model we ordered and that the one we had received was the replacement. However, there were a few small catches. It was all stainless like the one we had ordered, the inside was organized differently and the freezer had two drawers rather than three, not to mention the quality seemed to be significantly worse. But the dealer and Electrolux tried to tell us it was an equal replacement... right. There didnt seem to be a lot of options at the point so we settled with a far too small compensation. The dealer (Standards of Excellence in Concord, CA) came out and installed it in October. When they left, the doors werent even. In February, the flap on the French doors was jamming when we closed the fridge, so we called a service company. They came out, ordered the part and two weeks later, replaced the flap and tried to align the doors (not completely) and left. A few months later, the flap (mullion) failed again and I called a different service company. They came out, ordered the part, came back with the part, and spent a lot longer aligning both the mullion and the doors and left. The doors now seem to be fixed although they arent quite even. However, about a month ago, the ice maker stopped delivering cubes. It only gave out crushed ice and the display was giving some strange messages once in a while. The service guy came out again and said that the solenoid for the ice maker had gone bad, had dropped down and had fried one or two of the circuit boards. He replaced the solenoid but had to order the boards. Evidently, the fried boards were causing the computers to go nuts and provide random messages on the displays (and to the diagnostics he was trying to use). As of Monday, everything seems to be fixed... for the moment. But I have no confidence they will stay fixed. This morning, I called Electrolux to complain; their suggestion was to pay for an extended warranty. I absolutely hate the idea of giving Electrolux another cent for their poor quality product. My 10 year old Kenmore is happily humming away, working perfectly in the garage. I wish I could make it stainless.
This is a letter I am sending to everyone and every review site and agency. We have discussed this with Lowes and Electrolux AT EVERY REPAIR ISSUE. We cant afford an appliance that has proved it will need repeated repair. We purchased a beautiful Electrolux EI28BS56IS stainless steel refrigerator from Lowes in Meridian Mississippi 11-30-10. We had a Sears Kenmore refrigerator that was approximately 16-19 years old. It was still working well but was stained and had cracks in the plastic where someone has dropped a heavy jar. While shopping at Lowes, we were mesmerized by the beauty and BRAND NAME of this refrigerator. My husband is retired Navy and lives on Social Security and I work part time since my cancer treatment. This was a luxury but we were planning on this lasting a long time, maybe for our lifetime. We moved it in, but kept the old refrigerator pushed against another wall to make it easy to transfer items after the new Electrolux cooled. Thank goodness we did that. We had trouble with the ice maker right away, but curiously, even though the new one was bigger than my old fridge, it would not hold everything that was in the old one. What? How is that possible? Oh well, it is a good time to clean out items. Now I have less but the shelves wont adjust to really be useful. You would have to take out a couple of shelves to fit in milk and soda. That leaves even less room. You have to sacrifice sometimes to get something else, right? But what have I gotten - a really expensive albeit pretty refrigerator that takes up more room but actually holds less. Why does the ice machine make that knocking sound but doesnt make ice?Purchased 11-30-10; First repair 12-15-10. I asked the repairman his opinion about the refrigerator - I wont quote him, but he mentioned he wouldnt take it if I gave it to him free. I was concerned, but what choice did I have? Keep my fingers crossed and pray. I came to despise that refrigerator. Every time I walked into my kitchen, there it was, sitting there like a big stainless steel lemon, reminding me it was a time bomb waiting to go off - reminding me of my mistake. Calls to Lowes and Electrolux too numerous to count. Next repair, 03-22-11. Next repair, 04-01-11. Although I believe there was at least one more visit from the repairman, I cant find documentation, so I wont count it.August 2013 - a strange but somehow familiar knocking sound is coming from the kitchen. I sense a sick feeling beginning in the pit of my stomach. My husband checks the ice maker - there are a couple of pieces of ice in the bin with some odd black color. Check the filter (we have also dealt with 2 cracked filters that caused water leaking onto the floor). Change filter just in case. Nope - still doesnt work, but I am getting used to the knocking noise. Call to Lowes service company- they cant find the record of our previous visits (surprised?), wait, hold on, and on, and on... I finally hung up while on hold and called Electrolux directly. I explained what I was dealing with (again), and they do have the record of all 3 previous repair visits, but since I purchased the warranty from Lowes, I need to call them back. Okay, thanks. Call back to Lowes Service Company. A Lowes manager at the local store told us to ask for an RA number from the service company (after 3 repairs, you can ask for replacement?). Rep at Lowes Service Company said we needed 2 more repairs under the extended warranty because the first 2 repairs were under manufacturers warranty and they DONT COUNT! WHAT? Dont count as what? They were repairs that were needed. That doesnt make any sense. By reading reports online about this model, the company knows the problems it has had. They have to know its not reliable. Are they just hoping I will give up? I dont have any money, but I do have lots and lots of time to send my review of Electrolux and Lowes and Lowes Service Company every day and tell everyone who will listen. When we remodeled our home, we purchased all appliances, hardware, lumber, bath fixtures, and remodeling items from Lowes. I am very disappointed in the way they are taking care of this. I am very disappointed in the brand Electrolux. Read more than just this review- check all the other unhappy customers. Electrolux should be ashamed for having their name on this POS (excuse my language). I can guarantee I will never knowingly purchase any item made by this company. I wish I could go somewhere besides Lowes but our town doesnt have a big choice. I will avoid Lowes wherever I can if they dont find a way to make this right. Since the refrigerator is still covered under the extended warranty that WE PURCHASED, Lowes has set up a service call for 18 days from now. My concern is what happens after our warranty runs out? We know, and they know, this appliance is a lemon or just a defective design since many of these dont work properly. Are they just hoping it will make it until the warranty has ended, and we are on our own? This doesnt seem like an honest way to do business. If you buy an Electrolux appliance, BUYER BEWARE!!!!
We own a high end induction slide-in range that has failed twice, for the same reason, in 6 years. Whenever we have used the self-clean function the oven has remained locked (impossible to open or function). First failure was covered under warranty but the second, for the exact same failure, cost $600 to repair and Electrolux refused to absorb any of the cost. Technician indicated that this is a common failure...probably a design fault. Will never buy another Electrolux product again.
Our new home came with Electrolux appliances, which I thought was great. Not so much. My dishwasher buttons are smearing off (Model EI24ID81SS) and the button board requires unplug and replugging when the button board freezes. My wall oven has (EW30EW55PS) has a temperature probe that worked for the two times I used it, and does not work. My microwave (EW30SO60QS) creates steam on the buttons, which have already malfunctioned for 4 months where the time or timer just didnt work. I have to leave my microwave open to make sure the steam for using the microwave does not break the buttons. The gas stove top (EW36GC55PS) didnt ignite one of the burners after 1 month of use so I had to manually grab a lighter & ignite the burner for use. Ive never had so many issues from one brand. The only 1 star is for their aesthetic appearance.
We recently moved into a 4 year old home with 7 Electrolux appliances. In the short time we have been using these fairly new appliances, we have come to realize that 3 of them are in major need of repair. The home we purchased is in impeccable shape and well-cared for so I can only assume these appliances were well-cared for as well.Probably 1: Dishwasher. When running the dishwasher the soap compartment always had a large chunk of soap left in it. The dishes felt like there was a residue left on them. (Repair bill $210). Problem 2: Second dishwasher. When we put a rinse aid in the the appropriate compartment I believe it all came out during the next few wash. It should have been released during the next 155 washes. This left all my dishes with a film that could only be removed by soaking everything in vinegar. It could not be washed off with dish soap.Problem 3: Wall Oven. It takes about 25 min to get up to 350 degrees. Once it does it cannot hold at that temperature. The temp gauge will read that the oven is at the set temp but the thermometer I placed inside will read much lower. If I push cancel and set my oven to preheat, the temp gauge will then realize it is not up to temp and start preheating. (When cooking something as simple as cupcakes I have to continually reset the oven so that it will stay at a constant temperature.)I called Electrolux. Their only recommendation is to call a repair service for each appliance. They will not offer me any kind warranty even though these appliances are only 4 years old. I was told they are man made and sometimes things break. Sure I understand that but when 3 out of our 7 are broken in the first 4 years of use I believe that is an Electrolux quality problem and not just a fluke.
When reading the following please keep in mind that all of it occurs from 1/13/16 through 1/3/17 - a period of less than 1 year. During this period, service technicians were at our house 13 times! In addition to that time, we also spent HUNDREDS of hours on the phone with Electrolux, Frigidaire and appliance repair companies. We purchased from Sears a Frigidaire standalone freezer. The freezer was less than 1 year old when problems started which didnt bode well for the future so we purchased a 3-year extended warranty from Electrolux which handles the warranties for Frigidaire. The freezer continually developed icicles inside the door, the drain continued to freeze and condensation had nowhere to go, so thick sheets of ice then formed and built up on the bottom of the freezer to the extent that the slide-out drawer was frozen solid and could not be utilized until the frost-free freezer was defrosted to release the drawer. This required that we find a place for all of the food that was in the freezer while it defrosted. At one point the freezer stopped (while we were out of town) and we came home to more than $1,000 of food loss and a smell that still is not completely gone. Of course, that loss was not covered by Electrolux or Frigidaire. The extended warranty covers replacement of the appliance as a lemon if a part fails at least 3 times AND a repair tech says it cant be fixed. Electrolux was able to string us along for more than a year because each time a tech came out for the SAME PROBLEM, they tried to fix it by replacing a different PART and the lemon protection only applies if the SAME PART fails 3 times. (Several parts were replaced 2 times.) So they kept replacing different parts to fix the same problem and none of it worked. The first repair company finally told Electrolux, they couldnt correct the problem and were not going to keep coming out, so Electrolux assigned another company to pursue the problem. That was equally unsuccessful so they tried a third repair company. That third company also told Electrolux the freezer was not able to be fixed. Most service calls required multiple visits because the tech would come out, decide what part needed to be replaced but NEVER had the part in their vehicle so they had to go back and the part had to be ordered requiring another visit for the same service call. The parts almost never came in when expected and the repair companies rarely called to say the parts were in - so we always had to do the follow-up. Several times a single service call required 3, 4 and once even 5 trips to our house because the tech needed a different part, or there were supposed to be 2 parts but the tech showed up with only one, etc. Each trip required us to be at home and therefore we had to arrange our schedules to accommodate the technician. And we had to be available for a minimum of 4 hours because they only give you a window during which a tech will arrive and it was not unusual that the tech was running behind and wouldnt make it during the 4 hour window. On one occasion, the appointment was supposed to be between 8:00 and 12:00 and the tech finally showed up at 7:30 pm - almost 12 hours after the start of the 4-hour window. We eventually contacted state agencies, which then contacted Electrolux/Frigidaire on our behalf. Electrolux made the following offer: For a delivery/removal charge of $150, they would replace the lemon freezer with the EXACT SAME MODEL and, OUR WARRANTY WAS NOT VALID FOR THE NEW FREEZER even though there were still 2 years on the warranty we had already purchased. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM SEARS. We will never purchase an Electrolux or Frigidaire appliance. Choose your appliance carefully!
We remodeled our kitchen and I wanted all of the appliances to have a high end look but at a reasonable price. We purchased the Electrolux ICON package of appliances... Double Ovens, Dishwasher, French Door Refrigerator with Freezer on the bottom. They look great but beware! These are the worst appliances weve ever owned. After 3 months of use I turned on the cleaning mode, following directions exactly, for the top oven of the double ovens. The glass door shattered during the cleaning process. It took 2 months to get a replacement door. However, now grease has splattered between the glass panels and you cant get them clean. The dishwasher is a worthless piece of junk. We literally have to wash the dishes before we load them. I should have gone back to ASKO. Weve had countless problems with the ice-maker on the refrigerator. Its broken more than it works. We will never purchase another Electrolux appliance, ever.
Induction oven has been broken more than it has worked. They have a terrible repair company come out to fix it. I have to wait for a different part to come in each time and the part never works so I have to go through it over and over again. Didn’t have a stove for two months. They finally get it working then it blows again. Still will not replace. Will never deal with Electrolux again.
All my Electrolux appliances broke down. The dryer quit and had to replace the motherboard. The microwave broke and replaced it with another over the range microwave and the handle broke within few months. Then last week my Electrolux dishwasher caught fire. It was the motor that caught fire and spread to the insulation. The fire department came and put out the fire and whole house was damaged with smoke. Insurance is handling the claim and I had to pay the $1000 deductible and the dishwasher is not covered by the insurance. It was a loss close to 10 grand. Electrolux wasnt even ready to pay someone to come and do an inspection and I had to pay an authorized repairman to come and submit the report to Electrolux. He is coming tomorrow to do the inspection. I am really frustrated with Electrolux appliances and their accountability.
I have a new Electrolux microwave that was 1 year old at the time I sent in my first complaint. The Microwave/convection oven is now 1 1/2 years old and still unusable. The door is cracked, it dangles on 2 hinges instead of 4. The original complaint was a foggy door. The first Electrolux authorized repairman claimed door was dirty. Not true. The foggy door turned out to be a warning sign that the door was faulty. A few months later the microwave door bubbled up and melted itself onto the stainless steel body of the unit. 4 authorized repairmen later with repairmen taking photos and writing reports, the melted door was replaced by an authorized Electrolux repairman attempted to mount the replacement door. He didnt tell me but I saw that the door was cracked. Did Electrolux send a cracked door or did he drop it before he mounted it? Dont know. I do know he didnt tell me about the crack. He was unable to hang the door properly. He said the door was too heavy. He gouged the unit itself by trying to hang the door. He crudely marked the unit as he attempted to scratch off the melted door parts from the main unit. He left with the door dangling by 2 hinges, leaving 2 hinges floating. By pushing and pulling the door and the hinges he pulled out the inside clips so far that they push out from the inside of the unit, making the unit look swollen. He crudely took a metal tool to scratch off the melted plastic. He left me with a scratched and protruding stainless steel inside to look at. The door flips open on its own, turning on the light. The door dangles. He said not to use the unit.6 months and 6 repairmen later, Electrolux wants to send another repairman out. They do not want to replace the unit. Instead they send guys to take pics and write up reports that are far from truthful. The unit is unusable as it has been since it first melted 4 months prior, 5 months prior with the first warning of a problem and 6 repairmen later in total. All have yielded a microwave that doesnt work, many days waiting for repairmen, many photos taken by repairmen and many calls to Electrolux in Augusta, Georgia and to Sweden.Their behavior tells me they do not intend to listen to logic, take responsibility for their manufactured goods or stand by the truth. I just want what I paid for: a microwave that works and with no physical damage caused by their authorized repairmen. I am willing to let them have their flammable and damaged microwave in exchange for my money back. It seems like that would be good business practice and the right thing to do but is that their intention?
I purchased a new Electrolux slide in range with a self cleaning oven in 2010. At the time I also purchased an extended warranty and am so glad that I did. Since then every time I clean the oven using the self cleaning feature, the oven comes out spotless and then refuses to work. Each time it has been repaired it has needed a new motherboard. The technicians say it is a common problem that they encounter with this model range. I love the range, it is a ceramic top...easy to clean... easy to use. I simply would like the oven to work as it is meant to. This was a $3000 range and I have been very disappointed in the design flaw of the self clean feature.
I bought the $3000 Electrolux ICON Professional Series Gas range because it looks great and has all the features you could want. Its been a nightmare - weve had one malfunction after another in the four years weve owned the stove and Electrolux customer services is the worst of any consumer products company Ive dealt with. I will never buy another Electrolux appliance and suggest you dont either! After dozens of attempts to solicit help with the oven, their customer service people range from clueless to nasty, and couldnt care less about getting it right for the customer. They just read their script and evade accountability. Theres obviously something seriously wrong with an oven that breaks as many times as mine has. Five issues Ive had: The first year of ownership, the oven’s glass door shattered during the self-clean cycle. The next year, the convection bake control stopped working. After self-cleaning again, the oven door locked and wouldnt open, so the power relay board needed to be replaced. Sixth months later after another self-cleaning, again the door locked and wouldnt open. This time, the authorized repairman reset the thermostat. Now theres a “boom” sound whenever I turn on the broiler, and the repairman said we need to replace two igniters. Repair costs have been exorbitant, and Electrolux has been extremely difficult to deal with. Understandably appliances can malfunction, but when this many things go wrong and Electrolux refuses to take responsibility - the bigger problem is that the company doesnt stand behind their products!
We purchased an Electrolux French Door refrigerator, Dual In-Wall Oven, Overhead Microwave, and Dishwasher. The first to fail was the refrigerator, which could not make ice. Then the dual in-wall oven board failed, then the Microwave display, and finally the dishwasher which wouldnt clean dishes properly or dry them. The refrigerator ice maker failed twice more, the microwave a second time (we replaced it with GE), and the dishwasher wont clean and dry today despite using the highest clean and heated dry settings. Some of these were fixed under warranty, others under an extended warranty.I will never buy another Electrolux or Frigidaire product, and every friend, relative, neighbor, and coworker has heard my story. If Im in the appliance department of a store that carries Electrolux or Frigidaire, I watch for anyone seeming interested in the brand and warn them, urging them to look at reviews and complaints online. I will continue to do this anytime and anywhere I find anyone considering new appliances. Ive had good luck all my life with products and am typically a fairly positive person, but this was the most egregious experience. I guess Ive become a reverse evangelist for the brand.
My Electrolux double wall ovens - I keep getting an F11 error code. Call electrolux... They are just out of warranty. Apparently it is a $530. part, another $200 plus for the repairman. Diagnosis is vague. This is a you should start by replacing this situation. Unacceptable. We should be able to expect a reasonable problem-free lifespan for these major purchases. Its used twice a week (regularly) and intensely used twice a year (for the usual special occasions). This company doesnt even have a website where you can at least do some of the information-gathering yourself. And the script of the service desk is... We are anxious to please our customers. Can I call you by your first name? I will try to put you in touch with someone who can help you.... And I hope you are satisfied with the answers you received today. Nothing technical. No solution. In short ZERO service. When the repairman contacted Electrolux (from our home), they read what the error code said off a script and didnt ask any other symptoms. That did not give either of us any confidence as they they did say to start with that repair and see if it works. START with a $700 plus repair AND SEE IF THAT WORKS??? These were $3600 ovens, and they are 15 mos old. Completely unacceptable. My fight has started.....
In 2012 we completed a kitchen renovation and outfitted it with 5 new Electrolux Icon Series appliances... all but 1 has been serviced multiple times. The dishwasher was replace twice, we are currently working with our 3rd dishwasher. They upgraded the pump on this generation of dishwasher and it finally works well. Before each replacement we had to endure no less than 5 service calls for each unit! Next item to fail was the fridge. The first part to fail was the ice maker, a service technician replaced it and it worked fine for a few weeks until a crack in the ice tray caused a block of ice to form in the bin. When the auger turned to dispense ice, the block of ice reached up and grabbed a sensor that proceeded to wind itself around the auger. This in turn caused an electrical short that burned out a control board... the fridge went dead, repairs took approximately 2 weeks. Today, January 23, 2015 the sound of a failing compressor in the fridge woke us up several times through the night. Im waiting for the appliance centre to open up so that I can speed dial them and call for a repair. Next in line was the convection wall oven. The control board failed and the display went black... it was repaired but some of the display is not visible. Weve decided to live with it! Right out of the box, the microwave/convection oven would only work in the micro-wave mode. The convection oven would not reach temperature. The service man found a loose connection and for a while it worked well but has recently failed again! When I called for service under the extended warranty program we were told parts for this model are no longer available... The warranty program refunded the purchase price. We now have to choose between living with an partially functioning oven that matches the other appliances or replace it with a new unit that does not match.Fortunately we bought the extended warranty for these appliances and we purchased them through a very supportive appliance company so there was no financial burden to us throughout this whole process but there was a mind-blowing amount of inconvenience! In my opinion this line of appliances is nothing more than an attractive pile of overpriced garbage... Electrolux should have stuck to making vacuum cleaners.
It has been more than 4 months since I reported the problem with my microwave oven. To date your repair specialist, Rambs Appliance Repairs has visited my home twice and my oven has still not been repaired. This is the worst warranty repair service I have ever experienced.
We purchased the ICON Electrolux kitchen suite for our new home. From the outside, the appliances are beautiful and appear to be built with quality. However, this was not the case at all. Of the five appliances in our kitchen (refrigerator, dishwasher, wall oven, 6-burner stove and microwave), four of them have issues. They are less than two years old and have too many problems for this to be a top tier appliance. Refrigerator has dents on front panels from the stainless steel overlay attachment seen when you stand at a distance. The freezer drawer does not shut level. Reported this when we first moved in. Company came out and said there was nothing they could do to fix this. They blamed it on the leveling of the kitchen floor. Not so because quality of home build we have no complaints. The wire drawer in freezer pulls out crooked and often comes off track. The ice maker takes too long to make ice and makes a very loud noise when ice is dispensed from the door. The dishwasher panel lights flicker on and off. We have to hit the panel to make them stop flickering. The time clock that reflects on the floor in the kitchen stopped working about 5-6 months after we moved in and I called them to fix it and they said it was not covered because that was cosmetic. Also, the inside rubber seal has come off several times. We have to push it back into the grooves. The gas stove does not light with the starters. I have to turn on two burners. So the fire from the other burner lights the gas from the burner that will not light. The oven cooks noticeably uneven. We have to rotate our pans in the oven for the food to cook even. I may be forgetting a couple of things. But these are too many issues to have with top of the line appliances. I called customer service several times to have issues addressed. Unfortunately, we only had a one year manufacturer warranty and when you are moving into a new house with a very busy life this time flies by and then you are stuck with covering issues with an expensive extended warranty that may not even cover all the issues. Very frustrating!! I have purchased a used basic Kenmore washer and dryer for $300 and it lasted 15 years without one issue. Electrolux is a waste of money.
We purchased an Electrolux Slide-in Induction Range 3 years ago. It has been brilliant and we LOVE the induction technology. Induction cooking is best weve ever experienced. However, it suddenly stopped working and required an $800 part to fix. Turned out the part didnt solve the problem and Im on the hook for the part and still have a stovetop that doesnt work. Electrolux originally said theyd try and help with repairs but have since said no, told us to buy an extended warranty and basically said it was our choice to purchase the part or not. I wouldnt buy any product from this company, based solely on their abysmal customer service. When you spend over $3000 on a product, you expect it to last more than 3 years and companies that require you to purchase extended warranties clearly dont have much faith in their products.
Whenever I clean my oven it will not heat afterwards. The first time I thought it was a fluke... The second time it is costing me $300 to install new parts to get it working. Now I am told that whenever I clean it the same thing will happen. IS THERE A CLASS ACTION SUIT FOR SUBSTANDARD APPLIANCES that fail to even meet acceptable standards?
Electrolux Dual Fuel defective Oven F15 motherboard - To begin, the word motherboard defines the perfect depiction of the defective range (item/product) the Electrolux company manufactures. I recently purchased a home that included a 30 slip in Electrolux dual fuel range that the previous owners had originally paid over $2,900.00. Having seen the wonderful Kelly Ripa television commercials, I figured the product must be good if she endorses their products. Within 2 months of having lived here and using the stove, the F15 code has flash on the motherboard of the range which then also shuts down the use of the control board. Doing some investigation, I learned that the previous homeowner had already replaced the motherboard 2 times previously since owning the range. Now into the two months of new home ownership, I am glad that I had taken out a homeowners warranty to cover repairs in the new house. I just got back from Best Buy and hhgreggs to price out a replacement range and was shocked to see Electrolux continues to produce the same style range (which at hhgreggs price was over $3,000.00). Thank God I had my homeowners warranty to replace the motherboard until I find a new replacement range and dump this inferior product. Kelly Ripa... You sold customers down the river with a BAD product that is not backed by the company making it.
The screen is hardly visible for years and the new parts are supposed to be worse than keeping the old part that the microwave works. After 5 years I had to replace the Electrolux refrigerator and dishwasher. After 7 years I had to replace the Electrolux stove and oven. I would replace the microwave but they do not make this size anymore. Although, the new Electrolux appliances are beautiful. I truly believe the original appliances should have lasted longer. I do not recommend this brand for anything except vacuums.
We got all Electrolux appliances for our new house. First the washer door came broken so it wouldnt close. They almost refused to fix it because I called them 2 months after it was delivered. We moved in after 3 months of closing the house because our appliances took so long to come and they all came on different days and then installing them took time. Anyway they fixed the door and then it started leaking causing water damaged down to the main floor. This was within 1 year. The stoves motherboard is not working anymore so we cant make use of the oven. The stove top is gas so at least that works. This happened within a year as well but we called one day after the 1 yr warranty expired so of course they wont fix it. Now 2 yrs later the otr is not working. Theres no power in it. Dont know what happened. Basically, dont buy electrolux!
I purchased a Frigidaire refrigerator and stove in July, 2014. I thought I was purchasing a reputable brand, so I didnt need to purchase an extended warranty agreement. In January 1, 2017, the refrigerator stopped cooling. I lost items in the freezer as well as the lower refrigerator section. I called a service technician referred by Lowes. He told me the diagnosis and the repair would be as much as a new refrigerator. I called Frigidaire Customer Service. They told me the only thing they could do was offer a discount on the replacement part. I still would need to pay for the labor and the part. I recently retired and cannot afford to do this nor purchase a new refrigerator. I have now been without a refrigerator since January 1, 2017. I had to begin 2 jobs to save up to hopefully purchase a refrigerator. As it stands I will not be able to do that for at least 2 months. I am very disappointed in Frigidaire/Electrolux. In the great scheme of things I may only be one consumer, but even one should matter. I had to use a computer at a school since I cannot afford internet. I left the paperwork at home so I dont have the receipt with me to add to this.
Double Electrolux oven - Purchased this oven in 2006, almost immediately had outage problems. Every time I use them, and then clean them, they short-out. The fix was to install new motherboard, expensive computer problem. Electrolux says, Just dont use the self-clean feature. Ridiculous! I paid for that with the assumption it will work... Their warranty says that with 3 repairs for the same thing they will replace them. Ive had more than 12 service calls for the same problem but no replacement. I tried getting the number or address of one of the EXECS, they will not give it to me. I see today, they have won an award for the best oven design of the year 2015. What a joke. I want my oven replaced!
Model # E130BM6CPSA. Purchased this Electrolux OTR Microwave with the convection and grill in the hopes that I could get rid of my Breville convection toaster oven from our kitchen counter. Unfortunately no luck in doing that. Purchased Aug.31, 2017 and because the kitchen cupboards had to be modified to accommodate the microwave it sat in the box until Jan. 5, 2018 when it got installed by professional cabinet installers who have done this many times. The microwave works well, however when I went to use the convection cooking function I ended up using it 2X as long as the toaster oven and then had to put it in the toaster oven to actually get past just being warm. Next day I tried to use the grill function to cook 6 small breakfast sausages and they also took 2X as long so I put them in the fry pan to finish.I call Electrolux customer service and they gave me 3 service companies to contact. We had one of them come and check out the unit and it never got to the temperature he entered on the unit and call Electrolux and the customer service rep he reached said the convection function takes about 40 min to reached the desired temp. (So I can only guess the preheat function is not working, but 40 minutes really.) The service tech then tried again to preheat the convection function and redid it for a 1/2 hour with no luck and call Electrolux a 2nd time that day. The customer service rep said that my expectation for this microwave were too high. Also the customer service rep pointed out to me that the manufacture date on the unit is 2015 and I purchased it in August 2017 so he suggested that I contact Electrolux again and tell them that I am not satisfied with the microwave which I did.The customer service rep did confirm to me that there was a note on file of my issue and said she would contact someone about my dissatisfaction with the microwave and get back to me the next day. No one called me back and I patiently waited and then finally called them back 2 weeks later and was basically told there is nothing wrong with the microwave and there is nothing they can do. I will never purchase another Electrolux convection/grill microwave and will purchase a Panasonic next time.
I have NEVER experienced such an awful product in my entire 37 years of marriage. I purchased my Electrolux 5 burner stove about 4 years ago and have had nothing but disappointment since. The grates on the top stove do NOT come clean. I have tried every product available on the market. Now my racks wont come out of the oven and the temperature doesnt get hot. For $2300 that I paid it is a definite rip off.
I was originally looking to buy a slide-in range. I didn't have my mind set on any particular brand but the Electrolux model ranked high on my list of contenders. After almost a year of scouring & searching both BB and numerous other online resources, I finally came across this free standing range @BB store near me. It was a display model that had been marked down, that coupled w/ purchase promo at the time & free delivery was a no brainer. So although it wasn't the slide-in I wanted, it was well worth the trade off for a deal like this. BB has always done right by me & customer service was great. As for the performance of the range itself, I have no complaints thus far, it works fine & has many features. Only thing I noticed was a strong odor when I used the oven for the first time that has since disappeared. I didn't know if that was normal for a new unit but it now operates normally & helps cook meals quickly w/ it's expandable heating elements & settings.
We bought Electrolux Icon Appliances for our kitchen 6 years ago. This was a costly mistake. I wish we never would have purchased the items. Should have bought GE Profile instead. Within the first year, we had the dishwasher and oven fixed. Now 6 years later, and my fridge ice maker doesnt work. The oven does not heat evenly and the stove burners expel too much gas, causing a huge flame when started. I am so frustrated. We were told that this was the top of the line appliances. Up there with Wolf appliances. NOT!
The Electrolux double ovens were very expensive and have been nothing but problems... erratic temperatures and locked racks first. I have had over 6 service calls in less than 18 months of ownership. Now the floor of the oven is chipping off in a circle with what looks like glass shards. I am afraid to use this over for fear of getting shards in our food. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
After 1 year of operation the big burner failed - replaced in extended warranty. After 3 years of operation we werent able to completely insert the Fully extendable Luxury Glide racks thus not being able to close the door. Not covered by warranty as acc. to Electrolux this is not a functional part. Strange - how is an oven with open door fit to purpose? We replaced it by a usual rack. After 7 years of operation the ceramic top separated itself from the frame - the silicon layer around the ceramic top sticks on the ceramic top but not anymore to the frame.
I purchased four Electrolux appliances in July of 2011. The appliances were delivered in July, but they were not in use until September or October. The appliances are infrequently used and no children live in the household. Since I started using the appliances, I have already had three service calls. First, back in November for the microwave; then in January for all four appliances. The third service call was on March 16 for the same appliances for the same problems, except for the microwave oven. This is rather shocking to me since I was under the impression that Electrolux appliances were supposedly better and higher performing kitchen appliances than many of the other brands. I previously owned a KitchenAid dishwasher and a low-end Kenmore range and refrigerator. Over a 10-15 year period, I had approximately two service calls for the range and refrigerator and dishwasher. All service calls were after the appliances were at least 5 years old. These appliances were exposed to high usage since there were children and more people living my home.On March 18, I noticed after baking a potato that condensation formed inside of the door of the microwave. Also, as I was cleaning the microwave, the outside stainless steel top panel over the door of the microwave is loose. It moves from side to side. I now have a fourth service call in to address this. It’s hard to believe that I am having so much trouble with all four of my Electrolux appliances that I purchased. I am very disappointed and unhappy that I spent extra money for such lousy performing appliances. The service calls are very time consuming and quite annoying. I have to take off considerable time from work to accommodate the service calls, not to mention how frustrating it is to deal with malfunctioning key appliances. I can only hope that my case is an exception and I hope that I have not been sold four lemons. Attached is a summary of my service calls.Microwave: Stopped working for several days. Service person could not find anything wrong, perhaps it’s an electrical surge issue. There’s a loose panel outside the top over the door. It will be addressed on next service call. I can’t remove stains on inside of stainless—no solution. Condensation buildup in door: this is not addressed yet. You have to press too hard on menu button.Range: Rubber gaskets on metal grates keep coming off. I was told that they sometimes melt. The gaskets are there, I believe, to keep the metal from rubbing against other metal. It was not fully addressed. It scratches easily—no solution. The gasket around menu panel came a part. Gasket was replaced.Refrigerator: Ice maker is not working and there is a knocking sound, condensation buildup, and the ice maker continues to make ice when full. Problem solved on first service call. The same problem reoccurred. Problem will be addressed on next service call. There is also loose screw found in refrigerator. That will be addressed on next service call.Dishwasher: It doesn’t clean dishes. What do I need it for? Solution: add dish detergent, add Rinse Aid, add Glass Magic and prime water leading to dishwasher. Most dishes are lightly soiled and they still don’t come clean, particularly the silver utensils. The stains are washed in rather than washed out. Top rack bottom joint keeps coming out of place. Problem addressed once by replacing the top rack. I’m not sure what will be done to address this problem again. I will discuss with the service rep when he comes on Monday, March 26. It takes a long time to get started. I sometimes have to press buttons several times to start the wash cycle—problem was not fully addressed.
I had a horrible experience with Electrolux, refrigerator, dishwasher, stoves, ovens. Their service is terrible. Do not buy anything from this company. I’ve had trouble with all their appliances. Lately I even tried to buy a filter for my fridge and they couldn’t ship it. It never came in the mail. Terrible.
I purchased an Electrolux double ( EW30E65GS8) 5 years ago. The top oven developed a crack in the floor which you can see the heating element. I contacted Electrolux who stated that they no longer manufacture the part. I contacted the dealer who states that I have recourse but to purchase another oven. There was no help available from Electrolux. Even some price reduction for purchasing a new oven. Disappointed with the entire process.
Model EW30GF65GSA oven - When Min-Max double burner 18000 BTU is lit, the flames will spread out past the pot on the stove when ignited and burn your hand.
In April 2008, I purchased from Lowe’s (Preston Road, Dallas, Texas) Electrolux appliances a double oven, a microwave and a dishwasher. Ive had nothing but problems with them all, but the double oven is the worst! Ive been without oven since November 21st, 2011, no oven for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have had 5 service visits with no resolution. It appears Electrolux and Lowe’s doesnt care! Dont buy from them.
I did a kitchen reno 3 years ago and through lots of contemplation on which manufacturer to purchase our appliance package from, we chose Electrolux. We purchase the wave technology fridge and Induction stove. We could not have purchase any higher end of a product from Sears other than the GE Profile package, but they did not release an induction cooktop at the time. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! The stove has had several service calls as one of the burners has no heating intensity. The service people that have been coming out have no clue what they are doing and cannot fix the stove. They basically say it is normal. Still working on that problem to get it rectified. We also noticed our laminate floor was swelling a few weeks ago and after investigating the possible cause, I pulled out the fridge and sure enough the floor was all damaged and stained with rust. I had Sears service come to investigate and the end result is it cannot be repaired as it has a manufacturing defect. Seems that Electrolux just happened to not design the fridge with any insulation at the back of the fridge. WOW! I purchased the Extended warranty from Sears due to the cost of these High End appliance and the high cost to purchase.Well that fell flat on support. Sears has offered a credit of $1170.00 toward a purchase of a new replacement fridge as my compensation for the NO Lemon policy on the warranty. Not happy with this result, I contacted Electrolux customer service and asked to speak with a Manager. I was bluntly told that there was no further person to talk to and that Electrolux does not care about any issues after the initial year is over and it will be impossible to expect any input or assistance to replace the fridge that was improperly designed and built! Unbelievable... I am now going to be financially burdened with a $3000 plus cost out of pocket!! What a kick in the teeth after thinking if I purchased High End (JOKE) product, it would pay off.It is looking like I will have to replace my fridge and will now have mismatched appliances in my kitchen, especially since it will not be an Electrolux product. That would be a cold day in Hell!!! I cannot believe what Electrolux is pulling off here. I would be willing to start a class action lawsuit if we could group enough people together to fight this company for selling Improperly manufactured product and not owning up to it.
When I moved into my home in 2015, I bought a suite of Electrolux appliances: french door refrigerator, dishwasher, range. The refrigerator is so poorly designed that I had it serviced 5 times in the first year for faulty icemaker in the main part of the refrigerator. Every time you opened the door, it warmed up and the ice thawed a bit and froze solid. 5 years later, the compressor died, and I have a pile of junk. The range oven doesnt heat properly, the dishwasher stinks inside, all the appliances came with heatshrunk plastic on all the surfaces that stripped the finish off when you removed it, the doors of each appliances had dents. I am disgusted with the lot, and have no recourse but to continue using them until I can afford to replace them. I am so sorry I wasted my money and my confidence in what I thought was a good brand. Dont be fooled by a pretty face!
We purchased a top of the line Electrolux gas range in January. Our intention was to have it installed at our cottage in May, (which we did do with a licensed service company). Since it was installed we have had problems with the double burner. It turns on with a small explosion and when it does light, it does not have flame all around the burner. The service man attempted to repair the problem but gave up and told us to contact Electrolux to have one of their warranty approved service companies to look at this range. I called Electrolux and received the names of three service companies. One only worked on electric ranges, one stopped doing warranty work the week previous, and the other one refused to travel to my location as we live out of the town limits. When I called Electrolux back, they advised me to find a service man that would work on our unit and have them complete the repairs and send them a copy of the bill and they would then forward a cheque to cover all of the repairs costs. I contacted my original service man and he agreed to take another look at the problem. Which he did. He ascertained that there is a manufacturing defect with that burner. I have now been on the phone for 35 minutes listening to the message of how important my call is to them. My impression so far? They may stand behind their product, but only to wave goodbye as it leaves the factory. This is the last Electrolux appliance I will EVER buy!
The gas burns do not all reliably ignite when turned on. The heat range is also not adequate with 3 of the 4 burns having too much flame when turned to low setting. The largest burner sometimes does not light for up to 5 attempts and has been explosive when it finally does ignite. This has pretty well been the case from the time we first used this stove. We have two Electrolux dishwashers as we do a lot of entertaining. They do not always thoroughly clean the dishes and we have to do a secondary sink wash which was not the case with previous dishwashers we have owned.Lately our Electrolux refrigerator door light switch has been failing intermittently. All of these Electrolux appliances are now 2 years old. The dishwashers and stove have not been right since they were new. They were all bought as a suite when our house was new. We are dissatisfied with the appliances and the dealer who sold them to us and falsely advertised them to be reliable.
Have had my refrigerator since February. Now on its 3rd service call. Thank goodness I took out the extended warranty. Personally Electrolux can come get this piece of!! Two for the ice maker and one for the freezer, would not keep cold. Needless to say the whole back coil needs to be replaced and the refrigerator is only 6 months old. This will be the last time I listen to an appliance salesperson. Should have gone with my gut, but the salesperson was really pushing Electrolux and how long the company has been in business, etc. Whirlpool, Maytag, Samsung, LG anything but Electrolux!!Updated on 11/27/2016: When shopping for a complete kitchen set of new appliances, sales person kept recommending Electrolux. Spent $6800, Icemaker broke within first 4 months. Had to take off work to get it fixed. Now same problem with ice maker 7 months later. Also after having refrigerator 6 months bottom freezer coil unit had to be replaced, freezer would not freeze anything - then dishwasher does not dry dishes even with drying agent. Microwave/convection oven shorted out on Thanksgiving day after first use of convection oven. Have had these appliances since 1/14/16. Electrolux should be ashamed. Luckily I purchased extended warranty for refrigerator and dishwasher so Im good for three years with those. The quality of product is very poor compared to my 13 year old appliances I had. Very, Very Disappointed especially how much money I spent. Will look at reviews before I purchase anything else. Electrolux should pay me for my time off from work having to get these repairs taken care of.
I purchased a high end set of kitchen appliances (through Sears Canada) in 2009 - an Electrolux fridge and a top of the line electric range/oven. After 5 years, the fridge literally started to fall apart. The faux aluminum strips on the exterior of the fridge starting falling off and the ice making unit ceased working completely and the inside seal on the door was failing. Sears was very helpful but Electrolux was a complete and utter disaster to deal with. After investing a tremendous amount of time and energy in getting them to step up and deal with their inferior product issues, we were given a nominal credit towards buying another Electrolux fridge. Guess what? Within 9 months, we experienced similar product quality issues and made the decision to get rid of it and replace it with KitchenAid fridge which has been performing flawlessly since day one.Next, the oven stopped working. The burners were not functioning at all. Electrolux herded us over to a local service provider who indicated that this kind of problem was a common theme across the Electrolux high end oven product line. The service technician indicated that he would be unable to isolate the specific problem (we kept getting the e15 code of death). He recommended replacing a component for over $500 but warned us that there was a possibility that this would not necessarily rectify the problem - and if it didnt, we would need to spend a further $1100 to replace a circuit board of some sort. Guess what? The fix didnt work. We contacted Electrolux customer service and after numerous discussions they relented and offered us 20% off, as a sign of good faith, a new one. Really??? Do you actually think that I would buy another one of their products after 3 of them failed inside of 6 years? This is the worst, and I mean worst, product quality issue that I could ever imagine encountering. Never, ever, ever again.
We first bought an Electrolux Icon French style (2 doors, bottom freezer) 6 years ago as part of a kitchen reno, along with matching wall ovens. From day one the ice maker had nothing but problems - service calls every few months. They did do 1 repair after the warranty expired. The next time I called they offered to replace the fridge at cost, and we agreed as we wanted to maintain the look of the kitchen. The ice maker on this unit worked, but after about a year the unit appeared to lose its mind and would randomly give high temp warnings, and then be OK for a day or two. Service tech diagnosed ice build up in the freezer and evaporator and recommended a full defrost. We did that and it was OK for few months, then happened again. This repeated 6 months later, and now again for the 3rd time. This time I pulled out the usin and noticed a huge patch of rust on the stainless steel back plate right behind the ice maker. So, looks like the ice maker has an internal leak, which builds up as ice inside the unit and eventually screws with the temp sensors. The door gasket is also now disintegrating. Bottom line - these people do not know how to design or build reliable refrigerators. They are quite literally junk. The ovens have been great though :).
We purchased the extended warranty and within the first three months we had 2 service calls for major repairs. In both cases the oven overheated and burnt up the food that was in it. A third call was made with another major repair. I wrote letters to Electrolux and the company I made the purchase and requested the appliance be replaced. Nothing was done and as soon as the warranty expired another major problem happened and cost us $550 to repair. We will never recommend Electrolux to family or friends.
My husband and I redid our kitchen 5 years ago, & we were so excited to purchase the Electrolux 36 range & French door fridge as our appliances. We bought the extended warranty plan offered through Warrantech, since these are pricey appliances. We felt that they would last us for many years. Fast forward 5 years later, our range works only a few months out of the year, takes weeks to months to repair each time, and was red-tagged by the gas company on one occasion because the design flaw which causes the frequent repairs causes it to become a bomb in the kitchen. It once exploded our oven door clean open when I preheated it. Despite being repaired 3 times for the same issue, (pilot located too close to burner assembly causes burner assembly to blister open. Often just causes the pilot to be blown out instead of light, but sometimes resulting in a huge build up of gas before ignition, i.e.: bomb in the kitchen), Electrolux, through Warrantech, refused to replace our very expensive appliance. They refused to replace it because it could be fixed, ignoring the pattern of the same issue occurring every year, the enormous danger of the design flaw, & the length of time it took to repair. The part was always backordered, one would assume because they were having this issue with many other ranges. The range has now been discontinued. Electrolux also had the gall to tell us if we had bought our extended warranty through them, they would have replaced the oven after the 3rd repair. They suggested that we purchase another extended warranty through them once ours ran out. Well, that warranty ran out in Dec. 2016. In Sept., 2016, the oven had needed the same repair for the 3rd time. That repair lasted until February of 2017. Two months after our warranty ran out, the same issue occurred for the 4th time. My husband and I cannot see spending another $500 for an Electrolux warranty, when the company is clearly not standing behind their product, interested in customer satisfaction or safety. We have ordered 2 replacement parts on our own, & will attempt to fix this issue ourselves whenever it occurs. We own a dangerous, $6,000 and counting, Electrolux lemon of an oven. I implore you not to buy Electrolux appliances, especially the 36 E36GF76JPS2. Are there others of you out there like me? Lets start a class action lawsuit. Im also going to file a report with the Better Business Bureau. This is unacceptable.
We outfitted our entire home with Electrolux appliances. Since that time (June 2016) we have had nothing but problems with them. The circulating fan in the refrigerator failed within an year. Now we have to replace the door gasket on it. The door handle on the microwave broke completely off in less than two years. The control panel on the dishwasher had to be replaced in less than a year. The gas stove had an igniter failure. The freezer section door handle of the refrigerator is coming loose. The Microwave display is no longer readable it has become so dim. If you are considering Electrolux appliances do yourself a favor and go buy GE.
All our appliances in the kitchen are from Electolux Icon. In the first year our microwave oven broke down. A few months later our refrigerator did the same. Now our dishwasher is on the fritz. In less than 3 years we had three product failures. I contacted Customer service a number of times and the only solution they advised is to purchase a service plan. The product is very attractive, a bit costly and not reliable. My argument with Electrolux is that service plans are good for older products. As a consumer I should expect 5-8 years of quality performance before we need to service. It is evident that these products are not made to last but heavy dependency on service plans as a solution.
In 2009, we purchased all Electrolux products from Lowes. BIG MISTAKE..... The oven/cook top is now receiving the 5th service call. Do not self clean this oven.... it can only take about 10 times and then one of the 8 boards will burn and fail. The fridge has had 4 service calls. The control board for ice maker fails once a year. The plastic shelves break. The Ice maker bin broke from ice dropping into it. The microwave has had one. The dishwasher has operated with no service calls but it is not as good at fully cleaning than others I have had in the past.Lowes is no help. Electrolux customer service has no ability to assist in persistent issues. They just say we need to purchase the warranty. We could have bought a new oven with the money we have paid on repairs and the cost of a warranty would by now paid for a new oven as well. 2 weeks ago the fridge was repaired. Luckily we have a 12 year old fridge in the garage that has never had service once as a back up. Our gas grill is our back up when we need oven/cook top service once a year.
Seven years ago I purchased 7 Electrolux appliances to update my kitchen. They look beautiful, but don’t function properly. We have had multiple service people to fix. Within weeks, the same issue happens. Dishwasher not emptying, oven smoking and overheating, stovetop heat very inconsistent, etc. The biggest problem is the total lack of customer service. I’m replacing all $15,000 worth after only 7 years. The only recourse I have is to warn others not to waste you’re hard earned $. You have plenty of better options out there!
We purchased all new Electrolux appliances for our kitchen 2 1/2 years ago. Every appliance has been repaired since purchase, one replaced and two appliances are now on their 3rd or 4th repair (these are major repairs not minor). Electrolux has been making exceptions and paying for the repairs after hours spent documenting repeated problems and pleading with them to make good on their faulty products. Our range was rebuilt last week and tonight our dishwasher broke again, same computer panel as the last 3 times.I called Electrolux again, asked for assistance and they said Id have to call back tomorrow and speak with a supervisor, when I asked if a supervisor could please call me after they review our file they hung up on me... I couldnt believe it. I went on their website to contact them and their contact form is also down, the same experience each and every time Ive tried to contact them via email. This is the absolute worse experience weve ever come across.
I called Electrolux (866-449-4200) for the repair of the oven I bought a year and a half ago. It took over a month for them to send over a repair company, and the repair company they sent over was Dependable Appliance Service, 718-966-6500. The service was not dependable at all. They scheduled an appointment with a no show. After researching the company, it scores an F on BBB. I called Electrolux Customer Service back, and I got the runaround. I even emailed the Head of Major Appliances, North America and Keith McLoughlin (President and CEO), and I got no responses. Now it has been over a month and my issue is not resolved, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and I have no oven to make my Thanksgiving dinner.
We bought a suite of Electrolux appliances when we moved into our new home, 6 in all and within 5 years all but two failed with another on its way out. First to go was the Dryer first indicated by an error code. Next was their top of the line oven stove Microwave followed by the Dishwasher and not long after came the failure of the Refrigerator. The digital display on the stove is no longer readable. That leaves the Washer which for the life of me I can’t understand why it’s still working. We’ve replaced all of them needless to say with other brands. Never again Electrolux.
I recently assisted a family member in a recent kitchen remodeling project that included the selection and purchase of several new appliances. A new gas range was one of three appliances acquired. The Electrolux Icon was selected and purchased as it appeared to be well-made, and loaded with features and desirable accessories. Unfortunately, immediately after the range was installed, the oven failed to operate correctly causing a need for a service call before it could be used the first time. (Timing is everything: The new range was installed days prior to Thanksgiving and when it proved to be not functioning, plans for the holiday had to be adjusted.) Because the Icon was purchased from Sears (no local Mom and Pop appliance store carried the Icon product line nor could order it), Sears was called for repair service. Several days later, the repairman arrived, and soon he made up a list of parts that would need to be replaced. He also advised us that the parts were not available locally and that it would take 10 to 12 days before they were available. This seemed to me to be an excessively long lag time to wait for parts, so after he left, I called Electrolux and spoke with a customer service representative who was very well trained, and very knowledgeable. I learned several facts that all owners of Electrolux MUST consider, especially if the appliances were purchased from Sears. First, DO NOT CALL SEARS FOR SERVICE! Sears contracts out service repair calls to A&E, and, I was told, Electrolux no longer has a business relationship with A&E due to A&Es poor workmanship. Instead, CALL ELECTROLUX and ask for the name of the certified repair shops in your geographical area. Second, choose a repair shop from the list provided by Electrolux. Document, document, document! Once the technician has identified the parts that are needed for repair, get the names of the parts and if possible, the parts numbers. The reason for this suggestion is simple: It is possible that the repair shops parts distributor may have a 10 to 12 day lag time before parts are provided. Not having a functioning appliance for a 2 to 3 week period is excessive, I would suggest. Therefore, with the parts name and number, call Electrolux directly, order the parts, and have them shipped directly to your home address. Schedule the repairs with the service repairman, by all means, but do not be held hostage by a supply chain that does not provide for faster service than the prescribed 10 to 12 days. In the case of our Icon oven, after calling a recommended repair shop, and they had completed their own diagnosis, the part was found to be readily available, and the repair was completed 24 hours later so it was not necessary for the part to be ordered from Electrolux. Interestingly, the Sears/A&E repairman had identified two parts that needed to be replaced whereas the recommended service technician identified a total of one part. Draw your own inference to this fact. Having gone through this experience, I have learned that there is a big difference between an appliance manufacturers sales channels and its back of the office service channels. If possible, try to identify a retailer that not only sells a product, but stands behind it with its own service department (and not contract out its repair services to an A&E type vendor). And remember that just because a retailer can sell a product, there is no reason to infer that they have the ability to service it. Also, the retailers ability to sell an extended service agreement has no bearing on their ability to service the product with qualified technicians.
I will never own anything again that Electrolux has anything to do with! They have replaced my oven 3 times, my dishwasher 4 times, worked on my warming draw twice and my microwave went out right after warranty went out. Oven liner warped & porcelain popped in places. Dishwasher leaked twice & the door seal messed up. Its messed up again. The liner of oven is warped again, the seal on dishwasher is messed up again. There should definitely be a recall on these things. Electrolux did extend the warranties on them, but theyre out now. They said at one time they would exchange them for Frigidaire, but then they reneged. They were not cheap.
We purchased a top of the line Electrolux french door refrigerator. We did not purchase extended warranty and after a short 2 year period, the door ice maker sensor somehow was pulled into the ice crusher causing a short that took out ALL computer boards. The refrigerator basically died - cardiac arrest - A repair not under the 5 yr category and nearly half the cost of the $3,600 we invested in the appliance. The only remedy Electrolux offered were discount on parts, but cannot find repairman to work with this arrangement. We are forced to purchase a new refrigerator and cannot justify getting style I want due to money already spent. Since Electrolux would not stand behind their product, I do not recommend anyone buy Electrolux products!
We purchased Electrolux dishwasher, electric range, and fridge; have had for 4 years. First the ice maker handle broke. I ordered one from Electrolux thinking it was out of warranty. Later I found we had purchased extended warranty. By this time, the digital display on the range was not working so we called for service repair. We purchased from Lowes so their service company was A&E. They came, looked at the stove, and said they ordered a control module which I disagreed with. I said it needed the clock display module, but who was I to argue because I am not an appliance repair person, but I am a General Motors and Subaru master technician. I discussed with the service person that I had already paid for and installed a new ice maker control module not realizing it was still under warranty. So I proposed to him, “You order me a new ice module as I still have the old broken one to turn in under warranty. You can tell your company you replaced it. If you like, just leave the new module with me because if it’s broken this soon it’s bound to break again.” So the parts come and so does a different repair person. He gives me the ice module and then shows me the control board which I tell him is not the right part, but he says he is going to install it anyway. He tells me he has never worked on an Electrolux. To make long story short, he broke my cook top, had to order a new cook top, and he also ordered the clock module that I knew was the problem. They never did get the cook top mounted correctly and now my icemaker is broken again. The water and ice will not shut off, so I get the new ice module and install it...It’s junk right out of the box. I called Electrolux; they could care less...DO NOT BUY THESE APPLIANCES.
I have a dishwasher that cost me over $1700 and it is a POS. I have spent more time and money on this POS and it still will not work. I bought the dishwasher, Dub oven and the stove top and fridge and they all have had problems. This was the top of the line stuff and it is crap and they dont stand behind their crap. The first time I turned on the dub oven, the first item, the glass broke. The fridge is falling apart and the ice maker works sometimes and sometimes not. This set will be six years old this Sept 2014 and all needs replaced and needed it 2 years ago. Parts are way too high priced and they know it. Keypad is $300, control board is $200+, the rack is $400, come on. I will tell everyone I know about this CRAP!
We bought a Frigidaire self cleaning ceramic glass cooktop range in June of 2018, one month after the warranty period my wife turned on oven to preheat it. After about 3 min, she heard a loud popping sound and the breaker in the house tripped! She opened the oven and after the smoke cleared she saw a quarter sized melted hole in bottom of the oven. We knew the warranty was over so we called an appliance repairman to look at the stove. He found that the bottom element shorted and burned a hole in bottom pan and the convection fan was burned out! All the parts that needed to be replaced could not be located in Canada! These are very dangerous appliances! Stay away! The model number of the stove is CGEF3037TFC.
We have had to replace the upper inside blue liner twice as the porcelain or wall burns totally through. This is a $3000.00 plus oven and we now have been waiting over three and a half months, as ELECTROLUX has them on backorder.
The Electrolux appliances are the worst I have ever had. The ice maker is faulty and has lead to numerous repairs. The oven has roll out shelves that don’t work and burners that have been replaced. The dishwasher had to be replaced within 5 years. The Microwave has been repaired twice. Nothing good about any of these appliances. Wouldn’t recommend anyone waste their money on these Electrolux Brand.
Two years ago bought 4 appliances from Electrolux and all are the worst quality products I have ever owned. The Microwave has been serviced 4 times, the door shattered and the Warranty repair person broke the vent and he said it was not his problem as Electrolux stand behind it. The refrigerator cost $3600 had to be replaced for rust, the stove had sharp edges around the components and they had to send a man to file the edges in my home. The dishwasher simply does not wash the dishes and often simply stays on during the drying cycle. Customer service is polite, but does not have the ability to stand behind their product, so essentially there is no service or recourse for issues. I write this to warn you from buying this companys products.
We have owned this Electrolux Wave Touch (electric) for now two years and experienced nothing but problems with the electronics. Every time we use self clean, something else fails. I expect a $2,500 range to be more than sufficient in reliability. After all, what good is a great range when on Thanksgiving day you have to explain to sixteen guest why you cant finish a holiday meal as the range top does not work after the bird is done? Heck, two service calls later and we are now canceling our Christmas celebration as it still is not corrected.Just say NO to the Wave Touch and I suspect the engineered quality is no better on the lesser models. FYI - calling Electrolux on a two year old unit, as suspected they could care less. Frigidaire Pro series side by side (made by Electrolux) at a year old took five service calls before they said replace it as we cant figure it out. Thats another NO to buy.
We purchased 4 Electrolux kitchen appliances, a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and range 10 years ago. Wanted all my appliances to match. The range worked except the oven panel on the bottom started to bubble. I called to get it replaced and they told me it wasnt made anymore so I had to live with it. After 2 years the microwave broke and had to replace it, 3 years later the microwave broke again and had to buy another. Then 4 years went by, and the refrigerator broke down completely! Of course, I kept saying - I want them to all match so we bought a new refrigerator. Well about 6 months later, you guessed it, the microwave broke. That was our third one. When I called to see if it could be fixed or replace the panel found out it was so expensive had to buy another. When speaking to customer support I happen to mention about my oven panel. Said yes, they did have a replacement so I ordered it in February. About a month ago it started to bubble just like the last one. Last week I called them and said had to pay for another. Which I will not do. Have not mentioned my dishwasher because I dont use it!! Sure it would break if I did. Hope you were able to read this long experience. In 10 years I have had 3 microwaves, 2 refrigerators and a oven panel that looks terrible. All Electrolux!!! Terrible!!!
I have had this stove for about 2 months, replacing a 20 year old smooth top range. I thought this was a lot of bang for the buck with some features of much more $$$ stoves. I researched quite a bit and found the price very good @ Best Buy, since according to the salesman, the BTU rating is low for today's standards(how fast DO you need water to boil?), so the stove had been marked down for 'clearance'. It is smart looking and performs as expected. One minor mishap that one night it beeped with an error message while I was in the middle of cooking dinner and the only remedy I could find with some internet searching was to throw the circuit off and back on. It hasn't happened again. I use the stove 2-3 times a day as I cook and bake almost daily.
I purchased all my Electrolux appliances 4 years ago. A fridge/freezer, microwave, induction cooktop and oven, dishwasher, washing and drying machine. I have had an issue with every machine. I have never been so dissatisfied with a make as Electrolux. I will never touch Electrolux again.
I recently purchased an Electrolux dishwasher from Lowes on Thursday March 16, 2014. It had been on display in their cabinet section and discounted accordingly. When I got the unit home and went to install it I found the discharge hose that connects to the garbage disposer was not in the unit. I also found the mounting brackets were missing. I called Electrolux customer service and explained the issue. A gentleman named Jerry took our call. We told him we needed the parts right away as we had kitchen installers at our home. We asked for the parts to be shipped overnight so we could finish installation on Friday. He said it could not be done - company policy states that missing parts would be shipped only in 3-7 days. If we paid for the parts and overnight shipping we would have them Saturday. This was originally a $1500 dishwasher and we felt we were being treated poorly. We were on the phone for about an hour and I requested to speak to a supervisor and was told none were available and to call back tomorrow. Totally frustrated, we paid for the parts and next day shipping via credit card. No parts arrived Friday, no parts arrived Saturday, and no parts arrived Sunday. We finally received the parts on Monday. Much to our frustration, the hose was wrong. Jerry had shipped the hose that was attached to the dishwasher, not the hose that attaches to the garbage disposal. So, on the phone again with Electrolux. The next customer service person could not identify the hose I needed and said she would have to speak to engineering. She called back later in the day to state they identified the hose, she would credit me for all the missing parts and overnight shipping. She said she needed to transfer me to another department which would handle shipping me the correct parts. Upon transferring the call, the connection dropped. 2 hours of effort lost. I called back in and spoke to another customer service agent who was not helpful, could not find any notes after I explained to yet another person at the company what had happened. He states that because it was a floor model I would have to pay again for the parts. AT THIS POINT I LOST IT. 4 plus hours on the phone with Electrolux and I was back at the starting point I experienced Thursday. Is this the service they provide to customers buying their products?? We are in the process of selecting another dishwasher, 2 wall ovens, a stove, and refrigerator for our new kitchen. We are also selecting appliances for our in-law suite and a rental home. Needless to say, given our experience, the new appliances will not be Electrolux. Adding pain to this experience, no invoice was provided with the parts shipment!! Does anyone at Electrolux care????
Our nightmare with our Electrolux appliances is similar to the others on this site. We purchased a fridge and had issues the first year. Husband bought the matching dishwasher before the first issue occurred with the fridge. After at least a dozen service calls between the two appliances and 2 different repair companies, Electrolux did replace the DW with the newer redesigned model. Well that was approx. 2 years ago and we are now on our 3rd issue with the new improved model. The first issue was in the first few months and a typical error code, parts replaced. We since went through a kitchen remodel last year and now the 3rd issue with this new improved DW - possible heating element out? DW doesnt seem hot and theres mold on spray arms, soap dispenser, and racks - smell is horrid. We were offered 50% off another DW after the last issue but I would never buy another Electrolux appliance. We did not buy the Electrolux matching cook top or double oven when we remodeled. The company we purchased from went out of business and the storeowner himself did the installation. When he carted our 20+ yr old Whirlpool DW away, he said it was a good model - just the baskets were old (we should have kept it)! The Electrolux manager who handled our replacement DW had verbally told me if this 2nd DW had ANY issue, they would refund the $ paid for our 1st DW. My mistake, I never got it in writing, so when the 2nd issue surfaced, I had no proof of the offer. The frustration, time spent sitting home waiting for the repair co., waiting for parts to be Fed Exd, nothing was worth the frustration and I could have written a book on my experience. I would never buy another Electrolux product.
The burners are very difficult to adjust particularly the large one. I have had a repairman and gas co. technician attempt to correct but could not. Also the led panel on the top had a led burn out and now the time is incorrect. This was not an inexpensive range.
We remodeled the kitchen two years ago. Since that time, we have had expensive service calls on our Electrolux wall oven, slide-in range/oven, and washer and dryer. Now, the microwave is on the blink (I have to lightly touch the start button to get it to go). And this evening, its the clothes dryer which is stuck in the pause mode and wont move! We bought seven Electrolux appliances, thinking we had the best on the market. We are now totally convinced of our stupidity! This brand is junk! We have spent hundreds of dollars in repairs and are totally disgusted with this brand.
I purchased glass stove top from hhgregg two to three years ago. Purchased five year warranty. I will have to get copy of receipt/warranty or locate. I went to hhgregg and they said I would have to contact Electrolux. I tried emailing and no response. Any info on this product would be appreciated.
I remodeled my kitchen and purchased both an Electrolux double oven and refrigerator in Sept 2014. We started using the oven in Dec of 2014 due to remodeling timeline. After the first oven cleaning, we had to have it repaired as one of the ovens stopped working. A common problem according to the repairman. They actually had a kit to fix it. Needed to put some kind of washer on the thermostat so it would not happen again. My oven even today runs hotter than set. We need to place a cookie sheet on the lower rack to prevent burning. Now just slightly over the 12 month warranty the welding on one of the glide oven racks did not hold and has now separated. I was very disappointed with customer service and Electrolux that they do not stand behind the oven rack and will not replace. According to the supervisor at Electrolux, an oven rack is not a functioning part and therefore is not replaceable.
Client purchased Microwave range hood model number (ME16H702SES) Serial number (078N7WTJ301913R) approximately 11/25/2015. After approximately 20 hours of use over the period of a year or so the keyboard on the door was nonresponsive. Flashed 12:00 repeatedly but touchpad would not respond. Electrolux Frigidaire, through their automated response system, supplied the name of a appliance repair company, Best Aid Appliances Service (760-494-6444). We contacted Best Aid Appliances on 1/15/2016. According to the receipt I have. They said they would let us know when somebody will be able to come out and inspect the microwave. A few weeks went by and we agreed on a appointment. They said they are free would be $150. And we had to charge us $75 for a diagnosis fee and $75 upon the repair of the microwave. Over the course of a month or so they arrived three times. Each time they were sent a defective part. After the third time they said they would order a new one and they would contact us in two weeks. We never heard from them. We called Frigidaire. They apologized and referred us to another appliance repair company. This company was Michaels Appliance Corporation. Phone number 818-609-0912. Michaels Appliance Repair tech came over. He was very professional and a well informed gentleman. He made three visits, each time Electrolux Frigidaire concessions sent him a defective part. He suggested I need to contact Electrolux Frigidaire and inform them about once again a defective part. He asked me to contact him when Electrolux Frigidaire sent me a new door. The new door arrived. The gentleman came back. We installed the door and once again the touch controls for a non-responsive. Once again we received a defective product or part. After speaking on the phone with Frigidaire Electrolux tech-support they informed me that the product now is out of warranty and they would not take responsibility for any defective parts they sent me prior and they could no longer assist me with the repair of their product. I explained, You have been sending me defective parts for nine months. So we have a product we paid $602 for plus a $75 diagnostic fee and still we do not have a functioning product???
Cheap material and poor technical support. I had 2 refrigerators replaced and 5 repairs on the 2nd one, all within 6 months!! Waiting on delivery of the 3rd replacement refrigerator! Very poor customer service, do not think about convenience of consumer. All the repairs and replacements done only during work hours with no specific time range! So to take a full day off from work for every visit was extremely difficult.Updated on 05/16/2017: I previously told that Electrolux is trying to replace my refrigerator for the 2nd time within 6 months, to add to that situation, the 3rd refrigerator that was delivered today also had damage on its external body - as shown by the delivery person himself after opening the package in front of me. Now wasting another day of my work time, for them to deliver again another refrigerator, FYI THIS WILL BE MY 4TH REFRIGERATOR THAT ARRIVED AT MY DOOR! I really need some help here!!
About 3.5 years ago we totally remodeled our kitchen. We purchased a double oven, warmer, stove top, and two dishwashers. One dishwasher needed a pump replaced after six months. After the warranty expired both dishwashers started to develop problems. They would not totally drain. I had both serviced at different times and the same problem continues. The service mechanic called customer service to see if there was a recall and was told no and that they werent aware of a major problem. When running they are very silent but are not worth the problems or repair costs. I would not repurchase an Electrolux product again. Strongly considering returning dishwashers to front of store where purchased, calling the news media to watch me take a hammer to the items to show my dissatisfaction, costly but very gratifying.
We recently purchased an Electrolux Oven. The unit came highly recommend on several sites online. The unit arrived with damage, including a defective control panel. Electrolux was initially very friendly and professed a desire to do whatever was needed to fix the unit. In the end, they admitted that they had no parts for the oven and would have to manufacture some. It would take at least a month. They then discussed replacing the oven, but decided it needed to be repaired at least once. Of course there were no parts to repair it. In the end, they did nothing. So we bought another oven. Customer service gets an F.
Terrible customer service, I purchased double electrical range on April 22 2017, for almost 2,00.00, and my issues started. In beginning of September I notice that cooktop of range is starting melt, I called Electrolux, I was asked to send them a pictures, on September 24, 2017 so I did, once get a message that their side is not working, then second time, third time, all the same their site did not worked. Ok something wrong with email or their site. So on October 4, 2017 I decided to sent a pictures again, the same story try few times, the same reply site is not working. I contacted the local technician as per Frigidaire representative advise. Technician came in, made a picture and assure me within few days that he sent it to Frigidaire. Nothing happening. On October 24 again spoke to Frigidaire representative Quintavia and again sent the pictures, as she said that nothing is on my file. Nothing happening.Again on November 22 I spoke to Mona and again I heard that nothing is on my file, so again I resend the pictures, this time Mona called me back and confirm that she received the pictures and finally I got a case number. I was informed that the technician will have all the information from now. I spoke to technician and he told me that the new cooktop has been order and he is just waiting for its exchange, this was November 26, 2017. On December 5, technician has been still waiting for the part, on December 28 I called the Frigidaire with question when I can expect the repair to happened, and surprise I heard that nothing has been approved or ordered, and the Corporate supervisor told me that nothing can be done until January 3 2018. No apologies, no explanation, they did all properly and it seems to be my fault that I bought that range and that it is faulty. This is the worst customer service in my long life. It cost me two thousand and hours on the phone, a lot of stress. Frigidaire products are going down with quality, I am not sure, as I have a old fridge and this is one of the best, but for sure their customer service is the worst that happened to me, no one care, I felt like I was intrusion for staff and how dare I complain. If you can avoid please save yourself a lot of stress and time, spend a money with different company and have a less stress.
We bought a new Electrolux double oven in 2011. In the last year, 2017-2018, we have had to replace TWICE the timer, the power relay, and the varispeed board. We now have the code F14 occurring whenever the oven reaches the temperature which causes the oven to turn off... Our repairman said it is not worth fixing a 3rd time because of faulty electronics. Do not buy this oven.
I bought Electrolux dishwasher, range, and refrigerator in 2009 from Lowes in Marble Falls, TX. The dishwasher was damaged when arrived, then not installed properly. After several attempts to get Lowes to replace it, and then several more phone calls with Electrolux, I finally had a new one installed. It always leaked, and I could get no one to take responsibility. It was the worst dishwasher I ever had, so I finally replaced it with a KitchenAid, which I love. The refrigerator is terrible! The filters need replacing all the time, the crisper freezes my lettuce, even on the warmest setting, so I can only use the right half of the drawer. The same is true for the cheese drawer. The ice and water dispenser do not shut off every time, which makes a huge mess on the floor. Came home last night from vacation, the CE alarm was going off, and everything in the refrigerator and freezer was ruined. Again, Electrolux will do NOTHING! I guess I will also throw the refrigerator out and replace it with a KitchenAid.
Wow where do I start. Purchased for almost $3800 in 8/09. Less then a yr old, all the door hinges had to be replaced with a upgraded hinge. Three months later the door catches broke and had to be replaced. Six months later the ice maker was making very loud popping noises. It had to be replaced, not once but twice with again upgraded unit. The ice makers still makes lots of strange noises. Service tech says thats normal? The final straw came the week prior to this past Christmas when the info panel read an error code of SY EF. Called for service and after several days they came out to advise me it was the evaporator fan and control board. The unit ran continuously trying to keep at requested temp, all to no avail. You would think an appliance would last longer than 5 years without a major malfunction. Not so with Electrolux. Still waiting for parts to arrive, 2 weeks later. I would go into additional details about the dishwasher and microwave oven at this time. Junk. Ive learned my very expensive lesson.
Customer Service Non existent. We bought a slide-in stove from Electrolux 3.5 years ago. For over 2 years we have dealt with an electrical panel shorting on the appliance. Now the unit has completely shut down. We had a repair person look at it who says all the circuit panels need replacing at $900 plus $800 labour. The stove cost approx $2300 and three years later we are facing a $1700 repair that is not guaranteed to fix the problem. While Im aware many appliances only have a 1 year warranty are we to believe we should plan on throwing in the trash Electrolux appliances after 3 years? Not impressed!
In Oct. of 2009, I redid my kitchen and UNFORTUNATELY purchased my refrigerator ($2899.00), wall oven (no major issues), microwave (never worked correctly from day one) and dishwasher ($1200.00) at one time and thought that going w/ Electrolux for all four was the way to go. I had purchased the fridge and dishwasher along w/ a 4-yr. extended warranty for both. I have never in my life dealt with shoddier made appliances and a company that has NO clue how to manufacture ANYTHING but vacuums. The fridge had SIX service calls for a defective ice maker that could NEVER be fixed. It wasnt until our service tech (who by now was like family) called Electrolux directly and got us a refund for the purchase price of a 4 yr. old fridge. Last week, the dishwasher decided to leak water out from underneath it. It too had 4 service calls on it and has NEVER done a decent job of cleaning the dishes. Now that the warranty is up, the dishwasher is being replaced w/ a Bosch unit that was $400.00 less than the Electrolux and comes w/ a BETTER warranty and the backing of a company who knows what the hell theyre doing. I CANNOT STRESS IT ENOUGH -- STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM ANYTHING ELECTROLUX!!! Even w/ extended service plans, they are nothing but stainless steel BOAT ANCHORS!!!!!!
All 3 of our kitchen appliances are worthless. They are only 3.5 years old and need new fridge, dishwasher and oven. We spent almost $7K. They are falling apart and spending lots of money repairing them. Of course the warranties are no good. I have tried to call Electrolux several times and they wont stand by their products! Never, ever buy Electrolux appliances!!
Bought $12k worth of kitchen appliances from Electrolux less than 2 years ago. The stoves control board died. Never could get the ice machine to work so just disconnected the water to avoid this Electrolux customer service nightmare. From the first wash, the dishwasher does not drain completely so I’m constantly bailing out water. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX!!!
Warning to everyone who has been considering the purchase of new appliances. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX. DO NOT BUY ELECTROLUX. Nothing has worked correctly nothing. 5 months ago we bought. Still have no stove and intermittent dishwasher.
