Fisher Paykel Eco Washer, I am looking at replacing the water pump for the third time. I had also replaced the control board. My repair costs now exceed the purchase cost of the washer. I also have a Fisher Paykel refrigerator that had needed service, once in warranty and once out of warranty. Time to go back to the old school appliances. This brand should stay down under.

I previously owned a Fisher & Paykel for 15 years. I recently purchased a dishwasher. It’s very quiet. They have very helpful customer service. They were able to take your call and you can speak to somebody directly because they are not that big of a company, just the right size. Would recommend.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel range on 11/9/11. It was delivered on 12/7/11. I moved into the house on 12/12/11. I had a spill over during the first week. The two front burners allowed spill to go into the mechanism, the orifice and into the burner. I am not happy with the design and feel that it is a design flaw. I have had over 50 years of experience with ranges and have never seen one like that that does not allow for cleaning. I contacted Big 1 for resolution. They sent a service technician who stated that the burner needed to be replaced. After he left, the center burner would not light at all and the two front burners tried to ignite no matter which burner I tried to turn on.

I bought a new house and I needed a refrigerator for it. We had a very unique space that could not change. I had a space requirement that no other manufacturer made a refrigerator in the size, depth, width and height that I needed except Fisher & Paykel. It has everything that we wanted in it. We’ve had a very good experience with Fisher & Paykel and would definitely recommend them.

In most ways, this range is just what we hoped it would be, but the noisy fan that blows oven-cooling air across the burners whenever the ovens are heated over 300 degrees leaves us dissatisfied with this range. We have an open kitchen/dining/living room and the fan noise makes us avoid using the ovens if we have guests or just want a quiet evening. The good points for this range are many, however. We love the griddle and use it almost daily. It has even heat and very sensitive temperature control. Likewise, the burners are very nice. The simmer is just wonderful, just warm enough to keep a sauce warm but not hot enough to burn. The high range heats water very fast cutting the time for heating pasta water or bringing canning water up to temperature. Cleanup of both the griddle and burners is easy with the sealed cooktop. The grates are heavy and secure. Its easy to slide heavy pots across the cooktop. We bought a two-oven model for big family gatherings, like holidays. It is so disappointing that they are so noisy. So, overall, we really can not say we are satisfied, although we feel that the range is well made and otherwise well-designed.

We purchased this fridge about six months ago and we are extremely disappointed with the quality on this product. The Stainless steel is so thin on it that when you actually close the door by hand if you dont use the handles if your ring or anything touches it it scratches and puts a dent in it right away. Stay far from this product and if youre in Canada stay away from Trail appliances in Edmonds Fine Appliances. They said all this is normal. If you have kids definitely stay away from this. This is not the the same Fisher Paykel that was an Australian company, it now owned by Haier Group out of China. Quality is the worst ever.

So far so good. Had the fridge about a month and we love it. It was noisy the first couple of weeks and settled down quite nicely. Took a few days to fill up ice maker which had me concerned at first. Now if we use a lot of ice it is back to full by morning. Love the lighting and the flush water dispenser. My husband uses it to fill keurig water container.

From the day I purchased my Fisher Paykel washer, it leaked. I had service techs out at least 5 or 6 times to repair it. First, they told me I was using too much laundry detergent. So I cut it in half. That was wrong, it still leaks. After 2 years, now, it has started making a high-pitched squealing sound. First, it started only when it started filling, then when it started to spin, and now all the time. It still leaks. Thank goodness, I was smart enough after the first flood to purchase a drain pan to sit it in, or I would be replacing floors constantly. The agitator has had to be replaced 3 times already. I would not recommend any Fisher Paykel appliances to anyone. The company is no help at all and the appliance store ( Maidencreek TV & Appliance, Reading, Pa) are useless. Their service techs are hopeless, as to what to do to fix the problem. They recommended I purchase an extended warranty since I was having so much trouble with the unit. If you want to throw your money away, just purchase a Fisher Paykel appliance. My new GE washer and dryer arrives on Friday. I told my husband to leave the washer in the yard and every time I use my new unit, I want to beat the Fisher Paykel with a sledge hammer and after that, I want to hook a chain to it and drag it behind my truck.

Fisher Paykel 30single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven. This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. The dryer filter is super easy to remove and clean, so it’s no trouble to clean after each load.

Just bought a new Fisher refrigerator 6 months ago. I looked for a review in Consumer Reports but didnt find one. Let me save you the time: Noisy piece of crap that has equal service backing. Let me describe the 24 hour noise combination: constant gurgling, constant whirring, constant groaning, constant grinding. Refrigerator shuts off 10 minutes in 24 hours while set on the warmest setting. Customer service? The positive side - they answer the phone. The negative - you will never get anything resolved. Call backs are nonexistent. DO NOT ACCEPT it when they say they will call back, they will not. This holds true with regional service reps. I could go on for pages of my nightmare but I have already wasted hours upon hours pursuing a fix with no results. This piece of crap is going to the curb, sick of it and cant take the noise any longer. Im done.

We bought the Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes after being told it was one of the best dryers on the market. Soon after, we had problems with the way it dried (not drying many loads) the control panel cracking and breaking and we couldnt even turn it on. Now it is making the squeaking noise which is probably the bearing. It is now out of warranty and to fix it I could invest in a better dryer than have to pay to have it fixed every year. The technician keeps saying to us as, “Well, that it is the vent, etc.” I had other dryers using the same vent for more than 20 years and they worked just fine until they were older than 10 years. It is not the vent.

Contacted the Fisher and Paykel Customer Care to repair a 2 year old fridge - no longer working (under warranty). The fridge was removed and taken in for service and a replacement fridge was provided. Our fridge was returned 1.5 weeks later, and we were told it was working. Its not. Contacted the service dept, given the run-around, told it is probably a small repair required and the technician will attend on site - but not for 4 days. Thanks guys. Its 30 degrees out. Love having to deal with a fridge/freezer and 100s of $$ of rotting food.Would have been helpful to at least speak with a manager, or be reassured that given it was their error, or case would be prioritized. Debbie at customer service said nothing can or will be done, was unable to reach a manager, said Josh (the technical supervisor for our area) should get back to us within a day or so. Very reassuring (thats sarcasm). I find it very strange. Dealing with a mistake can be so easy with an apology, acknowledgement, and reassurance. None of which were provided.

The dishwasher needs to be fixed frequently. It seems the parts of machine are made up of materials cant last for some time even when the load of task is not too much. After sale service is completely bad. if you want to buy this brand bear in mind the technician are very lazy and are not concerned about consumers, and take longer time and expect more time than usual. The customer service is very bad as well. I called them several times to book on a service. I was obliged to wait at least half hour with no clear response. As a result if you are looking a brand with such feature getting away from them.

After 8 months, my 24 range stopped working. Two weeks after my initial service call, the service people said they had the parts and scheduled a repair for Tuesday, April 17. I took the morning off, but they did not arrive in time to do the job. So I had to reschedule my service call for today. They said they would be here by 1pm. Then they called back to say they had made a mistake and that in fact, they did not have the part, because it was on back order. So my lost morning off work on Tuesday was for nothing. I am still without the use of my oven. I would like a replacement oven. I paid top dollar for a fancy oven, and not only did it break so soon, it cannot even be repaired in a timely manner. I called Fisher Paykel and stayed on hold for 5 minutes before speaking to someone. I told them what had happened, and they just said to wait for the part to come in and reschedule my appointment and that there was nothing they could do, unless my stove could not be repaired. Meanwhile, 2 lost days at work and no oven for over 2 weeks! I was told I could call back in a few hours and talk to the management team, which I plan to do.

I have owned my Fisher and Paykel Ecosmart Autowasher Model GWL15 since 2010. The first time, we had a problem with the spin cycle was August 2012 (past the 2 year warranty period). I paid $180 to have the pump replaced. The repairman said that this is a frequent problem with this brand of washers. Fast forward to today, April 6, 2014. The washer quit after the wash cycle again. I tried several times to reset it by unplugging it like the owners manual instructed, only to have NO results again. I had to take the clothes out and wring them out by hand. I then had to empty the washer by hand to prepare for the repairman to come AGAIN. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel product, nor will I recommend Fisher and Paykel to anyone!! A few short years ago I bought a new F&P fridge. About 12 months outside warranty it stopped working. The technician told me the failure was so serious it would be cheaper for me to buy a new fridge. Which I did. Foolishly I bought another F&P (I was still laboring under the delusion it was a good brand.) That fridge stopped working three months outside the warranty period. The technician (from F&P) tried to fix it once and failed. Tried a second time and failed. By this time I had been without a fridge for days. He then tells me he will have to send way for parts and that might take a few days. In the same breath he tells me hes not quite sure whats wrong with the fridge. Could be the compressor as well. I told him to forget the whole thing. I bought a new fridge. You can bet it was not a Fisher and Paykel. (Both fridges only ever had light use by the way.) Caveat emptor..

I have an F&P EcoSmart washer and dryer. Over the past 3 years of use, Ive had the heating element on the dryer replaced 3 times. Even though the element itself is always under warranty, F&P says I still have to pay over $100 to have a tech diagnose what I already know the problem to be, then wait 2 weeks for the part and again pay the tech to install it. I have slate floors in my laundry room and the appliance tech told me I need to wear shoes because the way the element is set, it could sag and easily hit the floor, causing electrical shock. How unsafe is that? But now after only 4 years of use, my washer has totally died. I noticed the pump was short-cycling when trying to drain the water. When water did drain for about 2 seconds, there was no blockage. Then the control panel completely died within an hour. Now I have no washer, my four grandchildren live with me and my brother, who I have not seen for nearly 10 years, is coming in from overseas with his wife and 3 children to stay for 2 weeks during the holidays. I live in a rural area and the nearest laundry mat is 30 miles away. I cant even afford to get the tech out until after the holidays, but even if I could it would still take 2 weeks to get the parts, if its even able to be repaired. So what am I supposed to do? Thanks for the happy holidays, F&P!

The cost of the motor is 100.00 dollars and installation is 290.00. Fisher Paykel will recommend Dial An Appliance if you live in Brooklyn or Queens. They take 250.00 to put the motor in and it’s a 10 min job, but you’ll have no choice. I loved the double draw so within a 10 year period I had to buy and fix 3 dishwashers. Finally said, No more.. F&P product quality has bottomed out. Our first set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer worked very well. We sold them with the house in FL. We relocated to TN and purchased the newer model washer and dryer, and sorry to say, will never purchase another F&P product again. The DEGX1 dryer has broken down multiple times (no heat or taking hours to dry a load of clothes). The lint trap is extremely inefficient. We have had to repair the dryer and put out money when we could barely buy food. The washer that we purchased at the same time does not effectively wash clothes and they have to be rewashed. The recommended and authorized repairman arrived and discovered that the main circuit board was not functioning, so my top drawer was unable to work. He had the wrong part so he left, and was to return four days later. On that occasion, although he installed the board, there was then an additional problem with a wire. He left again, and had to order that part. Five days later I had to call to find out what was going on. The HiTech service, or rising service solution person, as their caller ID reads, informed me that they were service techs, not a warehouse, and so parts had to be ordered. Every time the guy comes, its another long trip, paid by me from their location. How can you be an authorized service and not carry parts? Also, I find the Fisher Paykel website very unhelpful re: technicians. I talked to a living person, and she had no more information than I did, so that also was useless. I wish I had heard about the Fisher Paykel brand about 6 years ago, and I definitely would have bypassed this brand. I have no problems with the dryer so far, but the washer starts beeping into the wash cycle, and it takes forever (and I mean forever) for the tub to fill (Im talking about all day to finish 2 loads of clothes), because Im constantly having to go and press the machine to start up again. It wont rinse. It only fills, and then drains. It also leaks from time to time. I figure the whole panel is shot, and I dont know what the deal is with the tub filling so slowly, but Im completely fed up with it, and after reading other complaints, I feel misled by this company and doubt Ill even bother to waste money to have it checked out. Both the washer and dryer had light usage (2 to 3 loads per week). I will never buy another washer or dryer with a push button computer panel, nor will it ever be the Fisher Paykel brand. I bought my old Kenmore washer and dryer second-handed, and they were still going after 28 years, when I got rid of them. I wish I had them back (who cares if they werent energy efficient, they worked, which is more than I can say for the overpriced cheap junk imported from overseas these days)! I would gladly pay more money for products made in America that is of good quality!

I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

When I moved in to this new house in Woodstock, I had a really specific opening. I was searching by size (dimensions) and it just fit - not just the space but the aesthetics perfectly, and that’s the reason I purchased Fisher & Paykel. I got the double-door dishwasher and the refrigerator. I like them both a lot! I love the way they look, but I also love the way they function. With the dishwasher, I have the tall drawer and the shorter drawer as opposed to the two equal sized drawers and for us, it works so efficiently. We’re two people, and you can do half a load or the whole thing at the same time. It’s very user friendly. Installation - a bit of a pain. It’s a beautiful looking, beautifully functioning piece of equipment. Well, if you’re going to have a refrigerator and a dishwasher, it might as well be pretty.

I have just bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge (E373L WW). I chose this brand only because nobody else makes a fridge of this size without a freezer. Well, nobody whose products are imported into New Zealand, anyway. I dont need a freezer. I lost confidence in Fisher Paykel many years ago. It is so hard to believe this company was once so highly revered by every New Zealand housewife. They made washing machines and fridges that never break down; well, not until well into old age. I still have in use a chest freezer made by them in the 1970s. They must have made enough profit in those days making products that lasted. Why cant they still do so? My fridge is only 6 weeks old and appears to be working fine. The two stars is not for the fridge but the company.

Three or maybe four service calls for reset tripping. Second reset is now on order for over a month. I have to take off cover and hit reset to dry clothes. If I get a fire, I will sue - be assured. Never F&P again. Lowes farms out service and they never report to F&P, so they have no record of failures. I see many posts with same problem with dryer, so it seems it’s a design defect. My vent is open and within recommendations for length, bends, etc. Piece of junk.

We remodeled last year and purchased a DCS refrigerator, rangetop and double oven after much research. The refrigerator is great! We love the space and the layout! The rangetop is wonderful - my first experience using gas, and I love it! Our ovens are a different story. After 6 months of use, one of our ovens stopped working properly. Since we live where there are no warranty repair available, DCS sent their regional person. He fixed the oven, but a week later, it quit working again. We are still waiting to hear back from him. Very disappointed in the oven. Hoping to resolve this as quickly as before.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher through Lowes. The reason I chose this is because its the only brand that makes that little drawer dishwasher anymore. I absolutely needed that size unit because we have very small condominium kitchen and I just simply could not have a drawer that laid down, theres no space, so I like the unit very much. Its working fine and the quality seemed good. The stainless is good. The installation was fairly easy. It was done by a contractor and Ive been happy with it. It was an easy purchase. Lowes did okay. There are a lot of people who are living in smaller spaces as things get smaller so I think those compact appliances are really great.

When we called Fisher Paykel, they said it was no longer under warranty because it was manufactured in 2007. Lowes would not stand behind it either. When I tried to get a service person to look at it, everyone told us they would not work on Fisher Paykel products. Now, I have a brand new dryer that doesnt heat and cannot get repaired. It is now 1.5 weeks later and the parts are finally in. It will be another day or so before the repairman can come over, $330 for repair and two weeks of hanging clothes or going to laundromat for drying. I would have to seriously reconsider purchasing this brand again with this type of wait for parts.

Whatever you do stay away from DCS. We purchased a DCS 6 burner Range-top, fridge, and wall oven in November 2014. No problem with anything until second batch of Christmas cookies a week before Christmas when the oven temp dropped to 140. Repairman said we needed a micro temp limiter and another limiter. He said he could probably fix it before Christmas if he could get the parts. Having selected DCS because of offices and warehouse in California we thought we were going to be roasting turkey and baking rolls for a big family Christmas dinner... Not exactly. Sometime last Fall the Fisher and Paykel brain trust closed all their US warehouses and all phone calls for customer service are now routed to New Zealand. The Kiwis working the phones in Wellington are useless. They can tell us they know the parts have been ordered but they dont have them in stock and they cannot tell us when they will be available to ship to the US. Weve been without the wall oven for a month now. Crossing our fingers that the fridge and range-top keep working.

We have experienced unacceptable service delays in getting a repair to our 2.5 year old F&P Washer (Ecosmart). It seemed to work well and does a good job drying out the clothes. We have a Sears maintenance/extended warranty so we had preventive maintenance performed less about 8 or 10 months ago. In mid-November 2011, the washer made an odd noise and refused to spin. We called for service and could only get an appointment for three weeks later (12/6/2011). It was a great inconvenience, especially over the Thanksgiving holiday with family coming to our house. My wife was not happy and had to go to the Laundromat several times. At the 12/6 service appointment, the technician said that it needed two parts (including a circuit board). But he had to order them and they would not arrive for a week. So, the follow-up appointment was set for 12/15/11. My wife was extremely disappointed and expected the washer to be fixed on the 15th. At the appointment on the15th, the technician installed the parts, turned it on, and the circuit board burned out. Now my wife is absolutely livid as it will be another week or more before the circuit board and a new drain pump arrives. She is convinced that repair will fail as well as the tech does not seem to know what he is doing. She demanded that Sears provide her with a rental machine (they will reimburse, but we have to pay up front). She has also announced that she wants a new washing machine when this one breaks again and it wont be an F&P.

I got one wash cycle out of it and it stopped draining. All we get is error code #37. Weve researched this error code 37 and tried to fix it ourselves and cannot. I have owned a top loading F&P (Ecosmart) washer and dryer since October 2008. They worked great until the warranty ran out. My dryer stopped drying clothes and had a repairman come out to discover that it needed to be reset. Now, it is starting to still leave clothes damp, even when using the extended dry. My washer within 2 weeks stopped working as well. The repairman came out and stated that the pump needed to be balanced and could possibly go out. Within 3 weeks, the pump on the washer went out. I had the repairman come back out and he had to order the part. 2 weeks later, he came back out and installed the new pump. Now a month and a half later, the circuit board is starting to have problems. I can no longer use the regular cycle which by the way is the cycle that is suppose to try to re-balance a load if the washer thinks that it is out of balance. So what is F&P going to do about these issues? By what I have read, absolutely nothing. They will call and try to make a nice attempt at resolving the problem but are they going to purchase a new washer and dryer for me or replace the ones I have? I highly doubt it. I will never buy anything that has the name F&P on it again.

Customer service is NON Existent. I have a F&P two drawer dishwasher. Generally speaking it is a good appliance, but if you need any parts, forget it. The agitator tends to wear out. It only costs about $100 to get a new one and it is dead easy to replace, BUT in my case F&P shipped the WRONG part under the right part number sticker, so the part didnt quite fit, or work. I engaged a professional, who took the very same part number out of her truck and put it in...and everything worked. Cost me an extra $300... but heres the thing. F&P said tough, we dont accept returns even if we made the mistake!... four times. And after talking to some appliance service people, this is apparently pretty common that what is in the box doesnt match the number printed on the box. So beware.

I purchased the washer and dryer I got from Lowe’s. I didn’t particularly want a front load because I had had a bad experience years ago with them. And I also had very limited space in the house. You could not put a front load washer and a front load dryer in the room because there wasn’t enough room to open it. You had to have top load machines to do it. And Fisher & Paykel has the only top load dryer that we could find. It’s more convenient. I would have bought it no matter what because the top load is just easier to load, unload, and everything else. It also emulates commercial ones by rotating into both directions. Considering that I sold the house in Tallahassee and the people who bought it wanted the appliances, I had to buy new ones for my house in Orlando. I’ll buy them again. I think top load dryers, you can’t say the best thing since sliced bread but it’s that type. The top load washer being an eco-efficient approach. We got the rebates on that. And the style in it emulates some very old, standard washing procedures that had been used throughout the centuries. My only problem with the new one we got down here in Orlando, the washer is really sensitive to an unbalanced load. The one in Tallahassee wasn’t as sensitive.

We purchased an F&P EcoSmart Washer and Dryer set in 2009. Six months later, the dryer began making high-pitched squeaking noises. We figured it was the design and just covered our ears when drying clothes. The squeaking turned into moaning, and the moaning turned into unbearable metal-on-metal gnashing - its abhorrent. To top it off, the dryer drum has now shifted off of the tracks, meaning that it must be manually forced back onto the tracks and pried open with human hands.Im sick of fighting my dryer for custody of my clothes. I contacted F&P about this last month, and they told me to contact an authorized F&P service company. One hundred dollars an hour to diagnose the problem, plus $100 an hour for repairs, plus parts? The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

They looked nice in the picture. When I saw them for the 1st time, the construction looked cheap but I thought, well, Ill see how they perform and not judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Anyways, I have had them for just about a year now and cannot wait to get something new. The washer always stops working and wont spin out. So I have to wring out the clothes. The washer doesnt wash them very well. I can still smell odors after my clothes have been washed and dried. I dont know why, but all of our clothes are getting these small holes all over them. The lip on the washer locks so you can start it after you put detergent in. I can go on and on. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Maytag or Whirlpool, anything but this. Its cheap and the makers should be ashamed. But I dont think they will be around long. You market garbage and you’re soon to be out of business. Hope someone actually reads this before they buy one. I wish I did. From the looks of the ratings, everyone else seems to think the same.

I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

Washer eco boost: It gets out of balance all the time. It throws water on the floor. The panel does not work all the time. Now it wont power on. It’s a little over 2 years old. I’m not happy. My hubby is really not happy, especially with a load of wet clothes in the tub. It’s junk!

Purchased appliances (Dishwasher/Clothes Washer/Dryer) 8 years ago. Dishwasher still works well (fingers crossed) but both Clothes Washer & Dryer cratered in the last few months. Heating element and bearing both wore out in the dryer (600 C$ to repair) and the transmission broke down in the washer replacement part for our model no longer available so will have to get a new washer (wont be a Fisher Paykel). Previously had domestic appliances for 25 years which worked equally as well without requiring so much as a service call. No more Fisher Paykel for me.

I am seeing a recurring theme about the drain pump failures. In my case, the drain pump has now failed 2 times on my GWL11US washer. The first one was leaking all over the floor. After purchasing the second, it was better but still, the floor would get wet under the washer. Not to mention, it took about a month to get a replacement (backorder). I purchased a plastic pan to place under the washer to keep this appliance from ruining my floor. The other day, the windings on the pump motor shorted out, stunk up the whole house and the motor control board just shut down in the middle of the wash.In my opinion, both of these F&P appliances are the poorest excuse for a washer/dryer I have ever seen. The plastic lid on the washer has cracked and the overlays for the operational buttons (keyboard) have many cracks around them also. Had the design engineers put some thought into the control board, they could have planned in some short circuit protection for the control module, so it could survive a shorted load of the pump motor. Or was it planned that way to make more money? This is the first and last F&P product I will ever buy.

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

I bought a set of Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in 2009. The washer broke down repeatedly and the dryer close to the same. Their service repair contractors are the worst ever. The parts have to come from overseas (New Zealand) and are far from cheap. The cost of the set was $1500.00 plus. I expected a great reliable product for this kind of money, instead ended up very angry and put out by their products and service and would never buy another product from them again. As a matter of fact, I wouldnt take one if it was given to me.

My F&P oven was new when I purchased my apartment in 2017. A year later, I experienced problems with the interior lights and the glass ceiling that protected the roasting elements. F&P directed me to their authorized repair company in South Florida, Appliance Service Group, Inc. of Pembroke Pines, FL. I paid them over $800 in advance on Feb. 1, 2019 (they told me that the warranty was for only 1 year, when it is 2 years but F&P finally agreed to honor the warranty after I contacted them). However, my oven still has not been fixed as of April 17, 2019 - a 2 1/2 month delay. ASG has told me several lies about the delay....a part is on backorder, the wrong part was ordered, the part had to come from NZ, etc. I have been promised on several occasions that it would be repaired within 5 to 7 business days. It hasnt and for over 2 1/2 months I have been without the use of my oven. F&P and its authorized service agents are not to be trusted.

This is a follow-up to my first post (Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart washer). The firemen were wrong about the motor. I called a local repair person/authorized repair person and they were here today. It was the famous pump that everyone else has been talking about. They said grit gets into the pump and causes the seal to leak, and then water drips onto the pump/electronics and causes it to burn out. There is a fuse that blows in the control board. They replaced the fuse and put another fuse in line with the pump. The repair was quick. I was told the pump would be about $90.00 plus service call. It’s much better than we originally thought. In my opinion, there is a problem with these pumps, though.

I purchased a new Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in 2008. We have had both of the units serviced numerous times. The washer is not working currently and the dryer, well, we have to reset it every time we use it! These units were our first big purchases and we will never buy this name brand again. Our warranty expires next year and we have to start shopping for new unit. Bad product and bad service.

Second time using my brand new F&P top-loading dryer; and it started making a loud thumping noise and would not stop. A technician came a few days later and made an adjustment which seemed to work for the next load; but alas, the thumping noise came back soon after. The technician came back and replaced a part. Everything was fine until yesterday; the thumping noise is back, but even louder. I’m very fed up with this dryer. Like other reviewers, I have also had problems with drying time – any energy-efficient feature, this thing purportedly has, is out the window because it takes so long to dry anything. I also have the matching washer; and judging by other comments, Im afraid it, too, will start giving me problems. I would absolutely not recommend this brand to anyone, and I so wish I could return them both and buy something else.

The Fisher and Paykel refrigerator is the only thing that could fit in to my area in the house. What used to be in there was a 27 inch ref. And the ones theyre making now are 28-1/2 inch deep and larger. This was the same depth it. We like the bottom freezer feature of this refrigerator. The only negative thing is this one does not have a deli drawer unlike our old refrigerator.

This is the third refrigerator weve had in about two months. We had to get rid of two KitchenAids that were totally defective. We picked Fisher Paykel, and love it - the design, the ice maker, the water through the door. The only thing is, depending on the glasses that we use for the water, sometimes it piddles a little bit down the refrigerator. But I like the inside. I like the freezer. Were gonna be moving and were gonna buy another Fisher Paykel appliance.

I have finally purchased a different brand of range and the never-functioning, Fisher Paykel 36 dual oven range will be hauled out of here. I have replaced the entire ignition system in this range, three times. These units are not cheap and that you cannot get the larger oven to turn on, and stay on, its ridiculous. I gave up on trying to use the large oven, when, after multiple repairs, it went off, mid-way while roasting a seven rib prime rib. Christmas dinner was very late that year.

The first time I heard about F&P was when we lived in Charlotte… Guess I heard it advertised. And then the company that we always did business with, Plaza Appliance, were the ones that started carrying them in Charlotte. Actually, our appliance repairman recommended them because he said they’re so easy to fix and dependable and everything and they really did turn out to be true…We had to shop for new appliances because when we moved out of Charlotte the people who bought our house wanted our appliances so we couldn’t take them with us and the first thing we bought from F&P was a washer in 2004 (almost 10 years old). Then in 2008 we purchased a dishwasher. It’s just a little bit different… I got the two-drawer dishwasher and the top drawer is a little deeper. They were equal on the other one we had. But oh, I love the drawers! I heard that they were actually making them for other high-end companies. But I don’t know if they’re still doing it, but when they first came out, I think they premiered the double drawer. Lastly, back in May, we bought a dryer because our old Kenmore after 39 years died. People didn’t think I’d get that out of a Fisher & Paykel, but you never know… I really didn’t consider buying anything else other than F&P since we’ve already had these for such a long time. As far as what I’ve had in the past, we tended to keep things a long, long time until they just died. So we absolutely love the washer and never had a minute’s trouble; the dishwasher was 5 years old and we never had a minute’s trouble. And so, hopefully, it will continue to be that way…

We purchased an F&P oven in October 2011. It did not work after installation. Our brand new expensive self-cleaning oven has had constant problems. We have had at least 4 repairs. The oven even failed on Christmas day and ruined our turkey as the oven wouldnt heat up. The techs dont seem to know what was wrong with it but F&P refuses to replace this faulty product. We are now waiting for a new door and F&P review to come out. So we are supposed to lose more work time and use our holiday to wait in for half a day. Customer service is rude and unhelpful. I will never buy F&P again.

We bought a brand new Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer (they were extremely overpriced) and we have had nothing but trouble with them. The fins broke on the washer within the first year. In the last 6 months, we have spent about $300 on the dryer. We just put a new lint screen and heating elements in and it still is not drying. I cant afford to put any more money in these things and at this point, I cant afford a new set, but when I am able to purchase a new set, I guarantee that it wont be Fisher & Paykel!

Warning! We purchased this Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer in 2007. It has worked okay until now. I have not used the dryer in 4 days. Today, I found the dryer hot - very very hot. All the indicator lights were off. The outside of the heating element inside the drum was so hot to the touch it almost burned me. The exterior of the dryer was very very very hot particularly on the backside of the heating element. Fisher and Paykel offered to send a technician at my expense. I wont pay for their safety problem. Junk. Unsafe junk.

This 2020 model 9kg heat pump dryer simply will not dry sheets. It tangles them in a ball, dries them for 2 hours and they remain damp. Even if you run successful cycles, they continually tangle and take many cycles to dry (and I taking just 2 sheets - not heaps). Towels are also very slow - several hours, but they do eventually get there. To do your washing takes a whole day with the endless problems - untangling sheets and re-running the cycle. Plus there is zero customer support. *If* you can get through, you get some poor chap who doesnt speak English well and he cannot help you. Hopeless. I have been a loyal F&P customer for 30+ years but will never buy another appliance from them. I assume that since Haier have acquired a controlling interest, but have also stated that they want the Haier brand to be the premium brand, that they are deliberately letting the F&P brand go in to decline.

My daughter is an interior designer and she introduced us to Fisher and Paykel appliances 12 or 13 years ago and we bought our first dish drawers then. At our next house, we had Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer as well as the dish drawers. Then our next house, we had a KitchenAid copy of a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer which was a piece of junk. So for the current house, Im remodeling the kitchen right now and we bought dish drawers. The products are fantastic. They pay attention to how much energy and water and soap they consume. The underlying design is brilliant in all of them.

After buying our 2008 washer and dryer set and after the first use, I should have asked for a pick up. I washed a blanket three times and still got black spots (possibly lint, but wouldnt come off) each time. Weve also had the dryer fixed so many times I cant count. Heating element has been replaced and needs to be replaced again less than a year later. I cant say how unhappy I am with the purchase of this expensive set. I should have gotten a GE. At least, they last for five years with no problems!

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

I already had one of the F & P double-drawer dishwashers at our other house before we moved here and we gathered the whole kitchen here. I put a single-desk drawer on each side of the sink and then a regular storage drawer below so I don’t have to bend over. I chose the Fisher & Paykel appliance because I was fascinated by the concept of the desk drawers and design-wise, doing things a little different. And then when we downsized from a 6000 square foot home to a 3000 square foot home, my husband and I both said we wanted to get them again. So we went 90 miles away to get them. We like the new models of F & P appliance compared with the old ones we’ve had in the past. They’re better, and the new ones are so quiet. We just love them.

I purchased the EcoSmart washing machine from Sears 2.5 years ago. The water pump/drain malfunctioned causing the electronics to short out. After consulting with a repairman, I was informed that the pump will be $200 plus $160 for the electronic portion, add another $50 for taxes and shipping and at least $100 for labor. Of course, the warranty is no longer applicable and apparently this problem is very consistent with other users. After reading the other reviews, I realize how bad this situation is quickly becoming.
