Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer
Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart Top Load Washer - I bought a washer and dryer set from Lowes 3 1/2 years ago and have no complaints about the dryer. It is very efficient and dries quickly and thoroughly, but the washer is another story. I have had many garments to come out mangled. The detergent never seems to rinse completely, and over the last 6 months, the washer has only been spinning intermittently. Now, it is not draining or spinning and I am waiting days for a service call. After reading these reviews, I dont feel very hopeful for a quick or permanent resolution. The salesperson at Lowes touted the brand highly. When the repairman comes Monday, if he gives an expensive quote, I will be calling the scrap metal man to pick it up and will go buy another brand. Very disappointed as I paid over $500 for this machine. Never again. And I will tell all my friends.

I have bought Maytag dryers for many years and after trying to repair my old one, I just gave up and looked around for a new gas dryer. I finally found exactly the type of dryer I was looking for. To my surprise, it was not a Maytag, it was a Fisher Paykel. I was not familiar with this brand, but it was just what wanted. I have now had it for seven months and I couldnt be happier.

I purchased a top-loading Fisher & Paykel washing machine in 2006 and it lasted until about 2011. In 2011, I again purchased a top-loading Fisher & Paykel washing machine. I gave the benefit of the doubt to Fisher & Paykel, thinking it was just a fluke that the first machine needed to be replaced. The second machine lasted until just as the warranty is about to expire. The machine is a piece of junk and I deeply regret being such a fool that I repurchased a Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

GWL15 quit first. I replaced the pump, the dryer died next. I fixed the drum. Next the washer quit again. This is the third time the washer quits. I disassembled it and am selling the parts to you, the ones who think youre going to get your moneys worth by repairing these pieces of **. You just might because Im selling pretty cheap. When the dryer quits again, youre going to see those parts on eBay also. I bought a Maytag this time. Well see.

I have waited 5 weeks for a tech to repair my gas cook top and have been given the run around with the customer service team all this time. Firstly, they gave me the phone number of a tech to ring and organise the repair of this warranty claim myself. He was not very helpful at all and after days of correspondence he told me that he doesnt service my suburb. Two weeks after my first call, I called again and they put me onto another tech, that I also had to call myself and arrange the repair. He told me that if I was willing to pay the travel time he would repair my unit but didnt normally cover my suburb, I told him to liaise with F&P as they would be responsible for this. He was quite helpful over a period of days and was liaising with F&P but when he actually determined that he couldnt fix the issue and a F&P tech needed to be utilised he told me that F&P would be in touch to organise a time and date. Another 2 weeks passed and I had heard nothing from F&P so I rang the customer service line again this Monday (4 weeks from the initial call), to see what was happening. The customer service representative told me that my job had been booked in for this coming Wednesday and to expect a technician between 7:00am and 5:00pm. I was astounded that nobody from F&P had contacted me prior, in regards to this booking, ok I was grateful that somebody was actually going to turn up!I took the day off work on the Wednesday (yesterday) and at 3-00pm I rang the customer service line yet again to see if the technician was going to turn up. Bearing in mind that every time you ring this line you are on hold and listening to the most annoying tone anywhere from 25 - 45 minutes. I finally got connected to a very nice customer service representative who was very apologetic and told me that my job had not been booked in, quite contrary to what I was told on Monday! Imagine my disbelief! She put me on hold and contacted a tech who said he knew nothing about the job but did have the required part arrive at his place today and didnt know who it was for!!! That doesnt sound right!Anyway I kept my cool and they stated that the tech would attend to my job this morning before lunchtime. At 1-00pm I rang the Customer service line again and was on hold for 45 mins and when I got through they told me that my job was not booked in and I would not get a technician to my place today. I asked to speak to the manager who conveniently wasnt available and I wont hold my breath in the hope that they call me back this afternoon to get this rectified. Very, very, very poor service in relation to warranty claims.

I was hesitant to buy a Fisher&Paykel refrigerator; I did not know the brand at all. But with the existing dimensions I had to work with, this was the only brand that would fit. I have been pleasantly surprised. Runs great so far, plenty of room, looks sleek and elegant, and my electric is down by 1/3!! I have only had it for six months, but so far so good.

Fisher Paykel is horrible! I paid top dollar and I mean TOP dollar for Fisher and Paykel appliances. The dishwasher is noisy compared to Bosch, the cooktop on the range was defective TWICE and the range had to be replaced. I had a spill on Christmas day and it got between the glass on the oven door and there is no way to clean it. The microwave is no better than the Panasonic Genius if as good. (Not nearly the versatility) but so far the refrigerator seems OK. Stay away from this Premium Product. You are throwing your money away!

We bought a brand new Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes. When we went to hook it up, it did not heat. When we called Fisher Paykel, they said it was no longer under warranty because it was manufactured in 2007. Lowes would not stand behind it either. When I tried to get a service person to look at it, everyone told us they would not work on Fisher Paykel products. Now, I have a brand new dryer that doesnt heat and cannot get repaired. Would never buy an F&P product again and would recommend others to think twice before purchasing one.

We were re-doing our kitchen and we wanted something with two drawers and they were the only ones who really did it for the dishwasher. I checked them out online and they were very highly rated. My wife says why we didn’t get all our appliances from them? We did our whole kitchen and she was... “I didn’t know about them beforehand.....” So this was an experiment that actually turned out to be positive and if they want to, they can change all my appliances, because I’m sorry I didn’t buy all of them :)Compared to other brands we had our F&P dishwasher is amazing. I love that the dishes come out sparkling clean. I don’t have to scrap them. I’ve had bad dishwashers. The last one that I had was extremely poor. I would never buy that brand again.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher DishDrawer. The brand is very expensive, but I liked the DishDrawer feature and I was willing to pay more thinking it was a good and reputable brand. It turned out to be nothing but trouble. Countless service calls later and I finally gave up about two years ago and started washing dishes by hand. I bought this unit when I was remodeling my kitchen, so I decided to buy the unit that allows you to put the custom cabinet panels on it. So, I wasted the money not only on the dishwasher, but also on the custom cabinet panels. Not only that, but simply replacing the unit would not just be an extra expense I could not afford, but it would also change the look of my kitchen, which I spent so much time and money remodeling. Every time I would call the one and only service company in town to come out, it would work only slightly better and soon stop working again. It never seemed to work at 100% capacity. I think I spent more money on service calls than the actual appliance. How sad is that.

I have a washer and dryer set that I have had for a few years. It has not been anything but trouble since I have had them. The washer has been worked on twice and once the repairman left off a hose and water filled my floor and messed up some of my flooring. Then the dryer had been worked on two or three times and right now it sounds like the whole drum is about to come out. I am tired of having to call a repairman to take care of problems. I tried to tell the people that I bought it from that I thought it was a lemon from the get go, because I had not had it maybe 1 month when it had to be worked on the first time. I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. Appliances cost too much these days to have to keep having them repaired, because the average person nowadays have been cut back in their pay checks and are not able to afford repair bills.

The fridge (no ice or water) has been fine, in fact we bought another Fisher Paykel. But we bought the second one with a side handle. The handle on our first fridge kept breaking off. The technician said the magnets were too strong. You may want to check the pressure it takes to open the door because you can take out some magnets. It costs about $150-$170 Cdn to replace (parts and labour past warranty period). Here are the two old handles of our old fridge which is now in the basement. We are on our third handle and I open it by pulling on the top of the door.

I saw Fisher & Paykel advertised on television. We didnt actually go looking for that make at the time. It was just one that wed come across. It was about what we were after, on sale. But we had looked at them before up in London. We purchased a refrigerator. It didnt start out very good. When we bought it, they showed us a small pinhole dent in the front door which we thought was fine, and theyd reduced the price. When it arrived here, it seemed to have a couple of dents that we hadnt seen before in it. We dont know whether wed missed them or they happened when they were bringing them down. But they brought it in and the controls wouldnt work. It would work as a refrigerator but you couldnt control anything. So we complained to the place where we bought it, and they werent allowed to service it for the first year. We had to get some service people out of St. Thomas. They were good, checked it out, and it wouldnt work. They had to order a new front panel control unit and it took about 2 or 3 weeks. They got it here, plugged it in, and it has worked fine since. The appliance is good once it was operational but the place where we bought it, we wouldnt set foot in the door again because we didnt get very good service.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel GWL11 washing machine about 8 years ago. For the first few years the machine performed well but on the very day the warranty was up the Motor Control board went bad. Fisher Paykel paid for another board but we were out $250 for the service call. The next thing that happened was this year. The machine would not function in several wash modes and would only spin at slow or medium speeds. Last week, the washer refused to spin at all. I bought another board (not cheap!) and then discovered that the old board may have gone bad because of a design flaw. The board is not protected from short circuit with the pump motor and the pump motor has a tendency to leak after a while. This causes a short that blows out the board. The factory does or did not acknowledge the problem. So, I then purchased a replacement pump (also not cheap!) that came with an inline fuse to prevent this from happening again. I put everything back together and all kinds of new problems. The GWL11 was an expensive machine at the time we purchased it and all we have done is put more money into it. Despite the new control board & pump, the machine will overfill unless you stop it manually, the lid lock cycles back and forth and then beeps preventing the machine from going into any spin cycle. At this point, I have had it with this machine! I will never buy another Fisher Paykel product and I will discourage everyone I know from buying their products. My last washing machine, a Sears Kenmore lasted me 17 years and it STILL WORKED! I only sold it to upgrade to the Fisher Paykel. Im going to take it out to the farm and use it for target practice. At least I will get SOME satisfaction from this lousy machine!

We purchased this fridge about six months ago and we are extremely disappointed with the quality on this product. The Stainless steel is so thin on it that when you actually close the door by hand if you dont use the handles if your ring or anything touches it it scratches and puts a dent in it right away. Stay far from this product and if youre in Canada stay away from Trail appliances in Edmonds Fine Appliances. They said all this is normal. If you have kids definitely stay away from this. So when I moved in to my new house that I bought, I decided to go with the Fisher & Paykel again because I really loved that refrigerator. I love the bottom freezer drawer, and the front of it is so sleek and shiny, very simple. There’s only one thing - it didn’t have the egg carton thing like the little egg rack. I’ve had a Fisher & Paykel set since 1999. I don’t know about now but the dryer I have is actually made by GE (General Electric). As at that time they didn’t make dryers. I have never had a problem with the dryer. When I bought the set from an appliance dealer, they told me it was easy and inexpensive to work on the washer, and the dryer was a GE. I had to replace the control panel on the washer, around 10 years in as I think lightning hit it. It was plug and play. I put it on and the part was $80. I let one of those color Catcher sheets get into my pump, as I tried to save and cut one in half for a small load, that caused a problem. Had to get it removed by a repairman. I would never buy an appliance from Lowe’s or Home Depot. Actually only an appliance store that has service department. You may save a little, but you lose it quickly down the road. It seems odd that 7 people on here have complaints. Fisher & Payless is actually made in New Zealand. I haven’t needed to call in 10 years, but the last time I spoke to someone in New Zealand. I wanted a Maytag when I bought this set, but they are no longer in business. They were bought out by Whirlpool. Too many problems with their products. I try to buy top of the line.... My builder put GE Profile appliances in my house, and they have been fine since 1999. However I do take care of my things, and they take care of me. Something I was taught by my parents 50+ years ago....

Second time using my brand new F&P top-loading dryer; and it started making a loud thumping noise and would not stop. A technician came a few days later and made an adjustment which seemed to work for the next load; but alas, the thumping noise came back soon after. The technician came back and replaced a part. Everything was fine until yesterday; the thumping noise is back, but even louder. I’m very fed up with this dryer. Like other reviewers, I have also had problems with drying time – any energy-efficient feature, this thing purportedly has, is out the window because it takes so long to dry anything. I also have the matching washer; and judging by other comments, Im afraid it, too, will start giving me problems. I would absolutely not recommend this brand to anyone, and I so wish I could return them both and buy something else.

[COMPLAINT] POOR SERVICE! I had a scheduled repair / service on my washing machine today. The service was supposed to occur between 7 am and 12 pm. At 12:45 pm I rang customer service. They advised that there were many people off sick and the technician was running late. (My reply is why didnt someone ring me to let me know they would be late?) He would be at my house in 30 to 60 minutes. At 3:45 I rang to speak to someone to find out what was going on. I spoke to Daniel who then advised that the technician had tried contacting me but couldnt reach us. He double checked my details and everything they had was correct. He advised they could come back tomorrow as the technician went home. I advised I couldnt wait any more than what I had done today. I asked to speak to a supervisor, her name was Tanya. Tanya then said the same. I said this wasnt good enough that I had taken this much time off and she agreed. She asked what I wanted and I suggested Fisher and Paykel should pay for the repairs. She said they couldnt do this, but that something should be done. I asked what and she said she couldnt make that decision now and she would be back on Thursday to let me know. Fisher and Paykel you need to seriously pick up your customer service game. This is not appropriate.

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

In 2019 we purchased a kitchen full of appliances; Cook Top, Over, Microwave, two drawer dishwasher, and large bottom draw with two top doors refrigerator/freezer. Quality issues: Microwave cover/front panel is cheap, loose, and I had to do some customization to get it to quit falling off. We like the two-drawer dishwasher, but found it constantly needs adjustments to keep the lower drawer from dragging on the floor, and almost always have to run a max clean setting or re-wash when drawers are full. Over so far is great. Cooktop is great, but the nobs squeak now after just 8 months of use. The refrigerator is our biggest issue… constantly makes excessive motor/fan noise, door/drawer trim constantly falls off, or jams up… Doors don’t align well, and don’t stay aligned.Service issues: The biggest joke ever! Tried for 8 months to get someone our here “AT MY COST even”, to give all these appliances a full re-build, inspection, and/or confirmation that they were installed/assembled correctly. CANNOT find anyone interested is servicing these units, and NO ONE at Fisher & Paykel is interested in finding me support of any kind… nor were the representatives from the appliance store I purchased the units from. Recommendation: - If considering High-End appliances buy THERMADOR, stay away from Fisher & Paykel

We bought a two-door dishwasher. It was on sale. It seemed to be way above a very well made machine as far as I can tell. It’s extremely quiet (I can’t believe a dishwasher can be that quiet). However when we got the machine home and opened the box, there were a few parts missing. And so we contacted the company, and without hesitation, they just shipped right off the few little parts that were missing and it worked out very well for us. Their customer service is definitely a 10!

After saving for a few years we purchased a DCS duel fuel range model Rds366ss. The stove was $5695, the vented hood was another $1295 and the back panel and shelf kit was another $395. Since purchased, the oven would heat higher than the required temp and after several tech visits with no results, we decided to live with it, adjusting the temp as we cooked. Then after a couple of years I had to repair all six of the spark igniters. Now after nine years, the stove has quit working altogether and after another tech visit we were told the oven thermostat had failed and needed a new one, part#210766. Calling DCS customer care for a replacement we were told the part was no longer available and there were no replacement parts for it. After checking many websites we found that the part was indeed obsolete with no substitute parts that would work in its place.Calling DCS back and speaking with a customer service tech we were told that maybe the part could be found used online. Another option was maybe we should consider buying another stove! Are you kidding me. After spending all this money on a stove we thought would last at least twenty years, were told we should think about buying a new stove after only nine years. We are so mad at ourselves for not researching this stove before purchasing it and now after reading nothing but negative reviews for the products made by Fisher-Paykel. We are stunned that a huge company like this can getaway with this consumer robbery. Wish there was some way to warn people about buying from this company and its total disregard for customer satisfaction.

Bought a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer less than two years ago. Around the beginning of March there was an error code warning on the machine and it was leaking water onto my hardwood floors. I contacted Fisher and Paykel and was told to work with the one service repair company in Austin Texas. They finally came out on March 9th to look at my machine. The technician told me the symptoms of my machine did not make sense but if he swapped out a few parts it would probably resolve the issue. Finally two weeks later I was told the parts were indefinitely on backorder. At this point I called Fisher and Paykel directly. I was given the royal run around. I contacted the company 12 times over the course of 6 days. Each time I was assured that someone would call me back in the next hour or so. Never got that call. When I called back in to follow up on the issue, I was told a different story and that it was out of the representatives hands or that they were a New Zealand company and the person in charge was gone for the day. I was told the companies issue was due to the long shoremans strike and my part would likely arrive in late April. I stressed that the technician was not totally sure the parts would fix my machine, so I was supposed to wait six weeks for parts which may not even get my machine working again.

Two of the igniters on my 9 yr old range stopped working. I tried to get the igniters repaired by two different appliance repair companies that Fisher Paykel recommended ($300.00 expense) both telling me the same thing - the unit was unable to be repaired due to a design flaw. I call Fisher Paykel and asked for assistance and was told since it was 9 yrs old they werent going to do anything. So my $10,000 range is now a good looking piece of junk! I would never purchase anything from this company!!!!

I own Fisher & Paykel dishdrawers. I recently purchased their laundry. It has one of the best designs out there and its unfortunate that they get a bad rap a lot of times, a lot of people dont know how to use them properly and that explains a lot of negative reviews. But theyre one of the best cleaning ability with the washer, and the dryer is a top load dryer which economically is the best thing out there. I had back surgery so I come from a place of ease and I love it.

I bought a Fisher and Paykel Eco-Smart wash machine May 2007. I paid $744.35 for the washer and I also bought an extended warranty. However, over the years I lost my receipt and of course no one could find where I paid for the extended warranty. I began having problems with the washer within a year. First several times, no problem. However the sixth year, this year in March, I was told that my washer was no longer under warranty and there was no extended contract on file. The reason I bought the extended contract was because the washer was already covered for 5 years and 2 extra years was very appealing given my previous experience with wash machines.I have been a home owner for 30 years and that was my 3rd wash machine. I have never paid that much money for a wash machine and had I known it was no better than any of the other (used) included, I would not have invested so much. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel and never another major appliance from Lowes.

We bought a DD603 dishwasher in 2002 and it has worked reasonably well since then. However, a problem seems to have developed on the top drawer. I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. The minimum cost in my area for a service call from an authorized servicer is $65 for just a diagnosis. F&P refuses to defray any part of this cost.

I meant to write you sooner about this but kept putting it off for two yrs. now. First, I had problems with the washer and the control panel. It was fixed over and over all during the warranty phase, but when the warranty ran out, it was suggested I purchase a new one which I did. Its fine now. The Dryer on the other hand is still a problem. It first quit drying. I had it repaired to the tune of $200+. New parts had to be installed. Then it became very noisy, shaking the whole house. I have had someone out twice and here I am again, listening the the noise. Its the ball bearings, I believe. They put in new parts but its still the same thing. Can you please recommend a knowledgeable washer/dryer service out in this area? Thank you.

I bought a FP two-drawer dishwasher about 5 years ago. It cost me a small fortune! We had our cabinets custom made to fit the FP dishwasher. It has been nothing but problems since the moment we got it. Now, it is on its last legs. It constantly fills up with water and my husband has to take the drawers out and wet-vac it, then put a de-humidifier in front of it for at least 24hrs. Once it is finally dry, he has to go into the basement and turn the electricity back on (which he shuts off to do this whole drying process). Inevitably, after one or two cycles it fills with water again and starts beeping. The beeping does not stop until we shut the power off again in the basement. The process repeats endlessly. We have had repairmen look at it and they say they see it all the time and there is nothing they can do with FP products, they are just not made well. My mother has had the same cheap Sears dishwasher for almost 30 years! I would love to replace it but I resent the fact that I paid so much for it and it is junk. Plus, Im afraid I will have to buy the same one again since my cabinets were specially designed to fit that model and I am afraid I will have the same problems with a new one.

We wanted to switch from a conventional dishwasher to a drawer type. We’re both getting older and decided we didn’t want to bend down to the floor anymore and so we decided we would go with this, and Fisher & Paykel essentially had a good reputation. We thought we’d try them and we’re pleased. We’ve had it since we moved into a new condominium at the end of June and it’s the Tall DishDrawer. It works very well. I am getting the cleanest, clearest glasses I’ve ever seen come out of a dishwasher. I like the way the inside of the dishwasher is set up because I like the fold down, fold up racks for the glassware which comes in very handy for various sizes. There are a number of clips for putting in very sharp long knives. As a cook, you use very long chef knives. In a regular dishwasher, you can’t really put them in. So I thought that was an excellent feature. Also the cutlery container is very nicely designed so that you can put all of your sharp steak knives point down. It is an exceptionally clean looking and clean staying dishwasher. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless steel. It’s really a dream to use. I recommend it to everybody.

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. I have owned a top loading F&P (Ecosmart) washer and dryer since October 2008. They worked great until the warranty ran out. My dryer stopped drying clothes and had a repairman come out to discover that it needed to be reset. Now, it is starting to still leave clothes damp, even when using the extended dry. My washer within 2 weeks stopped working as well. The repairman came out and stated that the pump needed to be balanced and could possibly go out. Within 3 weeks, the pump on the washer went out. I had the repairman come back out and he had to order the part. 2 weeks later, he came back out and installed the new pump. Now a month and a half later, the circuit board is starting to have problems. I can no longer use the regular cycle which by the way is the cycle that is suppose to try to re-balance a load if the washer thinks that it is out of balance. So what is F&P going to do about these issues? By what I have read, absolutely nothing. They will call and try to make a nice attempt at resolving the problem but are they going to purchase a new washer and dryer for me or replace the ones I have? I highly doubt it. I will never buy anything that has the name F&P on it again.

The oven malfunctioned 2 months after purchase. We cook almost every day but use the oven less during the summer and had been out of town much of July so it was only used a few times before the malfunction. After 2 months, multiple service visits and calls to Fisher & Paykel, the unit was replaced under warranty. My impression is that it took considerable effort by myself, the warranty service provider, and the store I purchased the unit from to make any progress. (I never did hear from the rep who was supposed to contact me within 24-48 hour following calls to Fisher & Paykel). The two malfunctions came on days we were hosting dinner guests (naturally) and we are worried about it working for a family gathering at Thanksgiving.

We bought our fridge, brand new in Sep 2011. After 3 years of use, our Fisher & Paykel E240BR fridge has broken down, 3 times in the last 3 months. July 2014 - Fridge was freezing everything, but the freezer was working fine. Called the F&P repair service and they couldnt come for 8 days. When they eventually came, the repairman fixed the thermostat and said it should be good. 30 August 2014 - Fridge & freezer stopped cooling, although motor was running. Everything in the fridge was warm and spoiled. Again F&P repair service couldnt come for a week. In the meantime we had no fridge and had to throw out over $200 worth of food from fridge and freezer.By the time the repairman came, fridge had started working again. He said there was nothing he could do until it broke down. 28 September 2014 (TODAY) - Again fridge and freezer have stopped working. Did not notice until tonight and again everything in the fridge is warm. When we rang the F&P call centre, they cannot come until Tuesday. Ridiculous. Call centre person was extremely rude and tried to say they had fixed it. Um if you had fixed it then why is it warm and stopped working again. Needless to say I am going to buy a new fridge tomorrow. Broken down 3 times in the last 3 months and its only 3 years old. Very unreliable, poorly made product. First washer purchased in 2001 had problem going from wash cycle to rinse in 2006. We tried contacting Fisher & Paykel and got no response, no support, and no help! We replaced a diverter valve, and then a circuit board, only to have wasted our money. We wrote a formal letter to F & P Customer Care USA (Irvine, CA) on Sept 21, 2007 letting F & P know that the diverter valve and circuit board only lasted 9 months before it repeated. No response was ever received from F & P Customer Care USA. That pretty sums up the amount of support/customer care you will receive. We liked the technology; and despite the lack of support, customer service, or response, we bought a GW12 and disposed of our six-year-old GWll. No problem with our GW12 from 2007 until 2013. Now, our GW12 is having the same problem! It appears that both of our Fisher & Paykel washers only have a six-year life cycle. I will write another formal letter to Fisher & Paykel Customer Care USA, but I do not expect I will ever hear from Fisher & Paykel. From my perspective, Fisher & Paykel washers have a planned obsolescence of six years, and clearly they lack an infrastructure for support or customer service in the USA. I would recommend that you only buy their products if you like changing your major appliances out frequently. If you do purchase Fisher & Paykel products in the USA, then expect to be on your own with no support or any customer service. One last item, the letters to FP Consumer Customer Care USA contained two emails for response and one mobile phone number. It is on 24/7, 365 days a year!

I have had the Fisher&Paykel Top Loading Dryer Model DEGX2 dryer since 10-2007. I had no problems with it until 3-9-2011 (bearings replaced). On 9-9-2011, dryer would not heat. Since then, I have had (as of 5-18-2012) eleven (11), under extended warranty service, calls for same problem. Dryer begins to leave clothes damp. I can see lint build up within lint scraper module (lint basket sits in this and it is not part of customer use to remove screw and module to clean lint that is not properly taken into basket). This module has been replaced and the new one had sticky residue all over it when I had no drying problem again. Warranty Company (Lowes) says the visits are a maintenance problem saying that I (the user) am not removing lint. (I do I empty the basket.) Nowhere in the users handbook does it say to take the lint module out and remove lint. This module is difficult to fit in properly; I have watched different repairmen have problems. This dryer is a pain. I paid a lot of money for it and it does not appear that the warranty company is going to back up replacement/refund due to how the repair visits are reported. I had this dryer for four years and until the bearing problem it was fine. I am angry. Do not buy Fisher&Paykel. Do not use Lowes extended protection plans.

Never worked, although repairman declared it fixed. I requested replacement (5 weeks without a cold fridge in summer) and they made noises each time, but still decided on repair. They also said that since I bought from an open box store, they consider it refurb and would only replace with a refurb (watch out for Weiler Group, too- they dont disclose this at time of purchase). I was promised a call from a supervisor Monday 8/1 regarding replacement, but no one called. When I called today they said that theyve been in touch with Integrity and the repair company has ordered the part and is trying to schedule another repair. Integrity left last Fri after replacing the PC fan and again declared it fixed, although it was melting what little I had in the freezer - liquid popsicles and ice cream, soggy frozen peas. So how Integrity knew to order a part tfor something that was fixed... I also submitted my list of lost food (partial, actually, I got tired of making the list and going to the store to check prices) over $200 worth. I was told by F & P to submit a list with prices, since I didnt have photos - when I came home to fing everything spoiled I didnt think of photos I thought of getting the rotten smell out of the house. As to foday theyre going to investigate my claim - so now they seem to be renegging on that too.Since I was 99.999% sure they wouldnt replace the fridge, I spent more of my own money and bought a Kenmore over the weekend - I need a working fridge, and I have no faith in F & P, a company I found to be unethical and dishonorable. The adjustable side shelves allowing for larger items below and then shorter items like coffee cups are so smartly designed. Further, this dishwasher cleans things perfectly. No spots, no missed areas and no running the load a second time to try to get it clean. And it runs on the quiet side for a dishwasher except for an occasional noise here or there when the pump runs to drain water.

Our Fisher and Paykel Washsmart top loading clothes washer is still in warranty and the pump failed. After 4 days a Fisher and Paykel service representative arrived, gave the machine a shake and the pump began to work again. Two weeks later, the pump failed again. We now have to wait 6 days to get a service representative for a machine that has been looked after immaculately. Does anyone have had the same experience, and is there a simple remedy?

I have a 10 year old 48” range, priced at approx 8k+. About two years ago, I had to replace all of the interior shelves, at my cost, because they had rusted so badly they would no longer pull out. This year, all of the plastic on the front knobs have puckered and bubbled off, presumably from the heat of the door being opened when the range is on. Customer service has basically said oh well, and has refused to replace the knobs. After replacing all the shelving I certainly won’t pay for new knobs too. The customer service in New Zealand is certainly not what we are used to in the U.S. For the price of this range, they should stand behind their products unconditionally. As I told them, I have had KitchenAid ranges last longer with no problems. So, bottom line, if you are looking for a range with all the bells and whistles, be sure to go for a U.S. company! Oh, and the range has never kept accurate temperatures to boot!

DEC27C and wL26CW1 - I have had a couple of problems with my units. However, two occasions they were covered by warranty (the washer). I just had a problem with my dryer. The bearing on the right side of the drum went bad. I called F&P and talked to the very nice rep who took my order for a new bearing assembly and sent it out to me UPS ground. The rep was kind enough to tell me that if I were handy, yes I could fix it myself and she was right. After the part arrived, it took about 15 to 20 minutes to repair. Wee, the dryer is back in service. My problem is the $250.00 of ruined clothing and the price of the part and shipping. I did contact a F&P authorized repair service, but the service is not what I would call great. When I called the tech and told him I thought it was the belt, he said It is not the belt; it is the bearing. You do what you know how to do and I will fix the dryers. That was a little insulting to say the least. He then told me the squeaking would not harm anything and I could continue to use the dryer, but it may spit out grease (hence the damaged clothes). Well, my wife used the dryer and ran a load of dressy whites and they came out with little spots all over them. So F&Ps authorized repair person gave me bad information. Live and learn. But as a whole, F&P on my dealings with them have been good. It is a shame that the face of F&P is who is giving them a bad name - the repair techs and their offices.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

Three or maybe four service calls for reset tripping. Second reset is now on order for over a month. I have to take off cover and hit reset to dry clothes. If I get a fire, I will sue - be assured. Never F&P again. Lowes farms out service and they never report to F&P, so they have no record of failures. I see many posts with same problem with dryer, so it seems it’s a design defect. My vent is open and within recommendations for length, bends, etc. Piece of junk.

We bought our F&P Dish Drawer DD603 in 2002 during a kitchen remodel along with new countertops, Sub-zero, stove, microwave, etc. I would say we use our dishwasher regularly but no more than expected and especially at the price we paid. That said, I think at this point, Ive paid in repair costs pretty much what I paid for the unit plus extended warranty plus installation back then. When our extended service warranty ran out years ago, the DIY in me took on the task of diagnosing, buying, and replacing the parts myself. However, Im now at the point of deciding whether to cut my losses and toss the whole thing out. Last Oct., there was a leak, which rendered the unit inoperable. I replaced the shorted main filter board, both top and bottom wiring harness, and the bottom controller. All was well for about a month. Then, it looked like the top drawers lid wasnt closing securely as I find moisture on the side of the tub after a complaint of beeping dilemma. (She swears there wasnt anything remotely big in the tub that would prevent the lid from closing.) In any case, the top drawer controller seems to be a goner.Last night, I replaced the top controller. The top unit did light up, but my wife did the trial run using the bottom drawer instead. The top drawer practically beeped all night and no amount of coaxing, turn off, lock, open drawer, etc., would silence it. No codes, just R2D2 on a binge. Whats next? Replace the main filter again, a bad controller, replace the actuators, the entire lid, etc.? I have two choices now: (a) somehow rig this unit to see if it can operate with the good bottom drawer only or (b) cut my losses, parcel out my recently purchased parts on eBay, and replace the dishwasher? One of my neighbors bought the same F&P DD unit, but Im afraid to check with her about her experience.

Love the dishwasher since we can out one part of meal and pots and pans in and then the rest of dishes of the meal next in bottom. Works like a charm! Convenient and all cycles excellent. This is my newest one and honestly hate the single drawer Washer now. You can put everything in at once your kitchen is clean and just set it to turn on a d wash while you sleep! Only problem we have is the installer didnt balance or lock the wheels Properly So if you have the top drawer open while loading dishes dont turn your back. The doshwasher falls over and you have to catch it After coronovirus we will get it properly i stalled but the dishwasher works great!

Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before buying my FP washer. I thought I had a great item. Same story. At least, I got nearly four years out of it, exceptional compared to other stories! Whining noise, just drains water, no wash cycle, Ive thought of calling a repairman but based on these reviews, I am going to trash this mess and get a Maytag. The American consumer is fed up with paying top dollar for poor products. This company will be hanging its head when they go out of business due to poor sales. Do not buy FP! Shame on you corporate greed FP! Your sales up this month? See what they are in five years. You have to get 10 happy customers to offset the decrease in sales due to one dissatisfied customer (Business 101). From the look of these reviews, one would say youre behind the eight ball.Who has money to throw away like this? Public school teacher who hasnt had a raise or COLA in four years in a non-union state (very low wages), widow, raising three kids alone, cost of living and gas prices increasing exponentially. And the clothes washer dies, in spite of the $800 or so I spent on it four years ago. How much did the CEO of Fisher-Paykel net last year? Corporate greed and environmental devastation, how long will it take my lousy washing machine to biodegrade in some landfill? Americans are fed up.

I was separating the grounds and neutrals on my service panel when I got shocked by one of the ground wires. I traced the ground to the incoming cable and found the breaker that fed it. I turned the breaker off and looked for the outlet that has dead. It turned out to be the washer outlet. I then made a two wire cable to test the ground. I have pictures of the test procedure. I have owned three Fisher Paykel washers over the past 10 years and have them still. I then tested all three and found all to have this VAC on the ground. I have some pictures to verify the serial numbers and test on each.

I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. If it were a bit quieter, I would be happier.

After having issues with my dryer and then my washer, Lisette of Fisher Paykel has been very helpful. When the bearings on my dryer needed to be replaced, the company paid over half the cost. When the water pump on my washer broke shortly after, the company is going to pay for the pump. Their customer service is excellent. Thank you so much.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. I have seen you have provided repair for others free of charge. I would appreciate if you could offer the same treatment in our case. Thanks. I would prefer to settle this with your customer service manager, USA.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

They looked nice in the picture. When I saw them for the 1st time, the construction looked cheap but I thought, well, Ill see how they perform and not judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Anyways, I have had them for just about a year now and cannot wait to get something new. The washer always stops working and wont spin out. So I have to wring out the clothes. The washer doesnt wash them very well. I can still smell odors after my clothes have been washed and dried. I dont know why, but all of our clothes are getting these small holes all over them. The lip on the washer locks so you can start it after you put detergent in. I can go on and on. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Maytag or Whirlpool, anything but this. Its cheap and the makers should be ashamed. But I dont think they will be around long. You market garbage and you’re soon to be out of business. Hope someone actually reads this before they buy one. I wish I did. From the looks of the ratings, everyone else seems to think the same.

We own a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and a washer and dryer. I love those appliances. First of all, I live in a condo. Were a small family so we dont have a big house. What I like most is that those appliances are compact. Theyre not small. My refrigerator is probably the biggest refrigerator that still fits in my kitchen. Its just so nicely designed that it fits into the narrowest spaces to put it in and at the same time it has so many space inside that Im really happy with it. The same about my two other appliances that are a washer and dryer. Theyre separate. Theyre economical. I really love how my clothes look like. But theyre fairly new. I just bought them all this year so I dont know how they would behave in the future. The only thing is when I need a spare part, its really tough to find one.

This was the first one Ive had without the agitator so it is different and Im still getting used to what setting to use so that it does not wrinkle the clothes so much. We like it so far. I’m getting used to it taking a longer cycle. There is this minor thing. I wish the beeper was louder. Ive got it up to the maximum beep but it’s so quiet I can’t hear it in the other room. In most ways, this range is just what we hoped it would be, but the noisy fan that blows oven-cooling air across the burners whenever the ovens are heated over 300 degrees leaves us dissatisfied with this range. We have an open kitchen/dining/living room and the fan noise makes us avoid using the ovens if we have guests or just want a quiet evening. The good points for this range are many, however. We love the griddle and use it almost daily. It has even heat and very sensitive temperature control. Likewise, the burners are very nice. The simmer is just wonderful, just warm enough to keep a sauce warm but not hot enough to burn. The high range heats water very fast cutting the time for heating pasta water or bringing canning water up to temperature. Cleanup of both the griddle and burners is easy with the sealed cooktop. The grates are heavy and secure. Its easy to slide heavy pots across the cooktop. We bought a two-oven model for big family gatherings, like holidays. It is so disappointing that they are so noisy. So, overall, we really can not say we are satisfied, although we feel that the range is well made and otherwise well-designed.

Fortunately, we have not paid for this thing & have contacted our credit card company regarding the charge & they have sent letter to dealer contesting the charge. When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

I got a washer and dryer by Fisher & Paykel. I went to Fletcher’s Appliance here in Nashua and I have a good friend. He was a repairman there for the company. And one day, we were looking at different things and I asked him what he thought. He told me Fisher & Paykel is one of the best. He says they have no transmission and explained different things about the machine. He also said that a nursing home had one for 13 years and they just finally got it repaired. And I liked the features of it. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the dryer door. The way it opens. I think it’s kind of old-fashioned. The newer ones fold down so that you can use the door if you need to set a pair of socks or something on it. I’m partially handicapped so I sit on a chair to do the laundry. I was hoping to go on and put my chair there. But other than that, the machines are fantastic. They run great. I’ve had no big problems so far with them in the short time I’ve had them. I’d say they’re wonderful. It’s funny the guy that delivered it couldn’t get the washer to work to pump the water out. And he left and my older son went down and one, two, three, he made it work. Otherwise, they would have sent out a repairman for the first day that it was delivered. And I said to myself, “This is crazy. I bought a brand new machine and now I need a repairman? This is just isn’t working out so good.” But it was just something that they messed up on.
