I bought three Fisher & Paykel dish drawers for my new kitchen and extended the warranty for 5 years. Throughout the 5 years, 2 of the dishwashers worked perfectly. One we constantly had problems with. Authorized service came out a number of times and said that our dishwasher issues came from these little tiny bugs on our circuit board. Our house has no bugs. Interestingly, I was talking to my friend who loved my dishwasher and when she remodeled her house, she bought two single drawer dishwashers. I was surprised to find that she has one that operates perfectly. The other is plagued with these little bugs and shes disgusted. She also has no bugs in her home either. Now, we are both thinking that this is something that probably came from the warehouse where these were stored. I now have to replace the dishwasher after about 6 years. I’m very, very dissatisfied.

I purchased an F&P dryer a few years ago and after replacing the heating elements 3 or 4 times while under warranty and trying to blame me, the vent, or my electricity, which they couldnt support after inspection, and after I ruined a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes when the heating element broke and remained on when the dryer had stopped (not to mention getting burned when I reached in expecting the dryer to be cold since it had gone through is cooling cycle), F &P replaced my dryer with a newer model. Well, the elements on this model have gone out of it multiple times. Yes, my vents are clean, yada yada yada. I did have to laugh that they changed their warranty to 1 year because of their cost in repairing the elements and other parts. They recommended I move my dryer to an exterior wall so that it had an extremely short exhaust run. They also told me they beefed up the elements to make them more durable. Unfortunately, the elements cost more than $80.00 each time they break, and because F&P hasnt been forced to fix the problem, we as consumers are expected to continue to pad their pocket with repair costs. I should add that twice, when a tech was in my house, he wouldnt put my dryer back together to use with one working element because he said it was a fire hazard. Fire hazard! Does somebody have to die before F&P actually addresses this issue? It has been brought to their attention.

A girlfriend of mine had the two drawer dishwasher that she bought about 5 years ago and I just loved that. So when we went to remodel our kitchen, we put in Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. We also have the DCS stove and microwave or cooktop, microwave & oven. All of our appliances are Fisher & Paykel. Everything was good until just recently when we were not too happy. We had to wait 3 weeks to get a part for our oven that stopped working and its only 6 months old... We like the actual appliances. Its just the fact that its so long to get any kind of parts in and then we had also paid for the extended warranty on them so we paid quite a bit extra just to have them and then had to deal with waiting.

Weve had a Fisher and Paykel washing machine for 12 years. Its durable and the drying cycle, spin cycle is exceptionally good. We have called several times for service and its lacking. We had to go through the store that we bought it from. They were unsure of just how the service was going to be. They gave the names but I dont think they really knew what happens beyond that. Its a typical retailer, you get them on the phone; say you got some service problem and thats probably the last thing they want to hear. I like the brand. I would definitely recommend that particular product. As far as service wise, I think they have a long way to go in making people feel good about the service.

I’m pissed off because the dryer was about four years old and I had to have it worked on about three times and ended up throwing it away. On the top load, the plastic parts just broke and the door wouldn’t come up and jammed. It got brittle and broke out. I spent about $900 for this dryer. Right at four years and it just fell apart. The bearings went out about two times. And one of the switches went out. And the door got misaligned. The parts must have been breaking then and so it caught and bent the door. I loved that dryer but I had to get a front load. The top load was more convenient for me. I am not satisfied because of the parts. They need to change the parts. The hard plastic parts dry out and become brittle when it gets heated enough and the bearings they use on there should be linear bearings as they are much smoother rolling and quieter bearings. I could have gone and got another type of dryer than go back to Fisher & Paykel, but I went back to Fisher & Paykel because that’s what I believe in and I got the service out of it, but, if I have another disappointment, they won’t get anything else from me again

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

We purchased the Fisher and Paykel EcoSmart Washer and Dryer set from Lowe’s in November of 2008. Last year, I had a problem with the dryer drying the clothes. After two weeks, the repairman finally arrived and fixed the problem within 10 minutes by flipping the safety switch. I wish someone would’ve just told me what to do to fix the problem. Now, I have had no problems with either since then and I love my washer and dryer. Tonight, I went to take the clothes out of the dryer and notice water on the top rim and dripping down the front of the outside drum. I’m wondering if this is a problem thats an easy fix, like my dryer was, or will it be necessary for me to wait possibly two weeks for a repairman to come see about it. My husband is in Afghanistan working and I have three kids, if that lets you know how bad I need my washer. Thank you and I look forward to your response.

I chose this counter depth refrigerator RF175WDX1 as part of a kitchen remodel. After 3 months or so, all is good. It is quiet and looks good in the kitchen. I purposely chose this model without water & ice, but the one thing I would suggest is a separate, narrow shelf for ice trays.

I already had one of the F & P double-drawer dishwashers at our other house before we moved here and we gathered the whole kitchen here. I put a single-desk drawer on each side of the sink and then a regular storage drawer below so I don’t have to bend over. I chose the Fisher & Paykel appliance because I was fascinated by the concept of the desk drawers and design-wise, doing things a little different. And then when we downsized from a 6000 square foot home to a 3000 square foot home, my husband and I both said we wanted to get them again. So we went 90 miles away to get them. We like the new models of F & P appliance compared with the old ones we’ve had in the past. They’re better, and the new ones are so quiet. We just love them.

We heard about Fisher & Paykel through the RV manufacturer. We custom designed and had built a fifth wheel for us to travel as we do extensive traveling. I did a lot of research and went to different online appliance stores that sold or dealt with the brand. After reading and finding out a couple of things, I decided to go with that particular model. It was all the good reviews not only on the online website that sold numerous appliances but the people who also purchased an RV like us who have installed and used them too that was the deciding factor. The dishwasher is fabulous and very quiet. You never know its running. Its amazing and is absolutely a dream come true. I love it. Its the best appliance that we made a decision to have installed. It makes life easy and works really well. The performance is spectacular.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. WHO WOULD LOVE THIS FRIDGE People who: - Have more fresh food than frozen food - Don't need to store extra deep items (large pizza box, for example)* SEE UPDATES - Appreciate removable storage bins - Like sleek, simple, modern design - Want to maximize the storage of the inside of their fridge - Like good lighting - Want to be able to fill pitchers and other large containers from the door water dispenser - Want easy opening and closing doors - Want to be able to view everything in their fridge at a glance without needing to move things out of the way. When my wife remodeled our kitchen fully, we chose to purchase the DCS appliance by Fisher & Paykel. We have the 36-inch range top and had the used dual dishwasher. So far so good. I had to do one repair with the used dishwasher but that was no big deal. It works out fine. My wife loves the burner. They are so good that it used to take her 12 to 15 minutes to boil water and it only takes like 2 now. So I know she’s happy with that.

We bought a first generation Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher when we had our condo built back in 2000. We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. Its very quiet. It is water efficient. Its very attractive to look at. Theres nothing about the dishwasher that to me represents either a negative or settling for something. Its just absolutely perfect for us in every way. We are extremely happy with the product.

Fisher Paykel washer debacle - For the fourth time in seven years, the entire logic control board has gone out. I had a Kenmore washer from Sears for 25 years and never had a hitch. Whats wrong with these foreign engineers? They cant seem to figure out US power. Each time the board went out, we waited at least three months to get parts and repairs! What kind of service is that? Now that it is off warranty, I am throwing it in the dump with all the other Fisher Paykel land fill appliances. What a waste of money, time and energy this has been. Shame on Lowes for selling this poor excuse for a product. Can you tell Im angry? I trotted down to Sears today and got me another Kenmore.

The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

I turned it off and my family sat down to eat. We finished eating and were getting ready to go to the pool when my husband decided it was too late and we would stay home instead. Lucky for us because when he looked at the oven, he noticed flames on the inside of the inner cover shooting out. He ran downstairs and turned off the breaker and I threw baking soda on them. After the oven cooled, he took off the back plate and the heating element was cracked and melted. If we had left and not looked inside the oven, we would have come home to find our dog dead and everything we owned gone. No, Im not happy at all.

Like the 100s of complaints I have just read about F&P clothes dryers mine is no different. Actually, compared to others Im feeling lucky that mine has lasted 6 years before a drum bearing has failed. My issue is two fold:1) After contacting customer service they were totally satisfied with six years and considered it a good run. I, however, am not satisfied with six years since my Maytag lasted 28 years and the only reason I gave it up was for styling reasons. I gave the dryer to a young married couple to use. It might still be running for all I know. F&P were more than happy to sell me, at full retail price, a bearing kit.2) After seeing the 100s of complaints and reading the companies stock response (which is not helpful at all), I am left wondering what the results were and how did the company satisfy the complaint.I have ordered the part from the company ($73.30 plus shipping) and hopefully this will solve my squeaking issue. I wished I had seen this complaint board before I purchased an F&P product. It really makes we wonder how F&P can stay in business.

When we built our house, my wife did her shopping around for her appliances and she basically liked the dual dish drawer concept and Fisher & Paykel seemed to be the only one around that had it available. Compared to the other dishwashers we had in the past Fisher & Paykel is superior in noise, cleaning, versatility. Being able to use just a minor amount versus the whole thing because it had two drawers, two different sizes. There’s a big problem we had with getting the warranty registered because the builder installed it and we assumed he registered the warranty, but he didnt. So we had to go back and look at the procedures. It took quite a bit of time to get the warranty registered correctly. Since it was a foreign country that was working in the United States, there’s a bit of a language situation too. Their accent was a little hard to understand sometimes.

I like the fact that my F&P washer has less parts as a whole, save water due to its sensor technology and efficiency. The best part is it rids of water very well at the spin cycle and save me time in drying. However, in eight years of using the washer, I have to replace two water pumps, and two lids, and now the lid is cracked again. The product might have less parts to be broken down, but the broken parts are always the same ones, do not show this is a product of good quality! About $600 of replacement parts and labors in eight years. Washer model: WA37T26G, serial# AEU777574.

We bought a slightly used machine and for 2 weeks, things were fine. Then during the wash, the machine would stop with an error code indicating a problem with a motor sensor. Then after a month or so, the machine would not run - just the same error soon after the washer was started. There was no repair service that I could identify in our area. Anyway, after numerous attempts to run the machine, I let it sit for about 2 weeks unplugged. Then I tried it again, and it works like a champ now. The washer has completed 7 loads with no errors. This is an excellent machine when it works. And if it continues to do so, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who could afford the purchase price.

Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

Approximately seven years ago, we purchased a Fisher Paykel washer from a local Lowes. I really liked the idea of using less water. The change from a regular dial machine to electronic push button seemed like a nice update. I will say that the only thing I like about this machine was that the spin cycle was very efficient and the clothes had much less moisture, resulting in far less drying time in the clothes dryer. The purpose of my review is to warn everyone what a horrible experience we have had with this brand. We have had to have this machine repaired four times by a professional. We have spent more money on repairs than the original purchase of the machine. We will never purchase anything by Fisher Paykel again. I strongly warn others about this brand. It is a complete waste of money.

My first F&P dryer worked fine for a year and then continually tripped thermal switches. One actually has to remove a panel to reset this as it is not accessible from the outside of the dryer. F&P finally replaced this (well, I got a new dryer for the privilege of paying them $250 for the prorated use of the old dryer). I also spent another $250 re-venting the dryer because they were concerned that the venting that worked fine for my 25 year old Maytag was insufficient for their unit. Dryer #2 developed a bearing squeak--quiet at first but now is extremely loud. The tech from the company that sold me the dryer claims the bolt is frozen and the bearing cannot be replaced or at least cannot be replaced for a service call cheaper than half the price of actually replacing the dryer. Meanwhile, THAT store has ceased selling the product and no longer will work on F&P machines. The tech recommended by F&P after this told me the same thing and recommended that I save my money and buy Samsung.

I must be one of the few to have a positive experience with F&P. We purchased a washer/dryer set in 2003. We still have the dryer but are on our second GWL11 washer. The first one lasted 10 years. In that time it was subjected to hard water and a family of four. The pump is definitely the weak link, as I replaced at least two in that time. Also had to replace a water inlet valve. The new pumps come with a inline fuse to install on the harness to the controller to prevent it from getting ruined if the pump shorts out. None of the repairs were done in warranty. F&P washers are very easy to diagnose and repair so I have been able to do all my repairs. After too many large loads and 10 years of hard water the strut rods that keep the drum in balance wore out. I found a super clean GWL11 for $80 on CL to replace it. We now have a water softener so this machine stays cleaner and cleans more efficiently.I saved parts off the old machine for future repairs. I did change the pump not long after I got it. Now three years later that used pump went out, this time the windings shorted out, taking the controller with it. I blew off installing the inline fuse, so this could of easily been prevented. I bought a new pump for $110 and installed my used controller and its running just fine again. I know this all sounds like a nightmare of repairs, but if you are able to be a little bit inclined to take on a challenge you can save a lot of money on paying the repair person. I dont have a lot of money laying around to buy new appliances every few years. From the reviews I read, many new high efficiency washers dont clean well and are repair prone. When I do break down and buy a new one sometime in the future, I will definitely consider F&P again, along with Speed Queen.

I bought a set of Fisher Paykel washer and dryer in 2009. The washer broke down repeatedly and the dryer close to the same. Their service repair contractors are the worst ever. The parts have to come from overseas (New Zealand) and are far from cheap. The cost of the set was $1500.00 plus. I expected a great reliable product for this kind of money, instead ended up very angry and put out by their products and service and would never buy another product from them again. We would like to relay our experience with an FP oven which we have documen
We would like to relay our experience with an FP oven which we have documented with copious notes and repair receipts. Our FP oven OS302SS was put in service in early 2008 and acted erratically from the get-go. We finally contacted customer service in August 2010 when the issues became worse. The same month, repeated repair efforts began, which ultimately resulted in ALL boards being exchanged because of power supply issues. Along the way, it became apparent that the repair companies were at best sub-par, even though during our numerous calls to FP we had been promised white glove service. Some of the repairmen had never seen an FP oven in their life and were consequently in the dark about how to approach this issue. It did not help that some essential parts of the oven were dropped on the floor by a repairman resulting in further repairs (to oven and floor). In late 2010, repair activity seized temporarily since the oven appeared to be working. In February of 2011, another bout of repairs started because the fan and oven light were only operating intermittently. In the course of multiple repair visits and repair efforts, the oven stopped working altogether for periods of time. After numerous phone calls to the FP tech line, the repair company was no longer confident that this oven could be repaired and concluded that it should be exchanged as a lemon. Unfortunately, one of the repairman also got into an argument with the FP tech line (in our presence) resulting in a less than favorable impression of the situation by FP. FP refused at this point to swap the oven unless another repair company would assess the situation again. FP also suggested the local supervisor would get in touch and review the situation.Reluctantly, we made an appointment with another repair company in a neighboring city (since we had been through with all the local ones) that had been suggested to us by FP, but the repairman never showed up. We were never contacted by the supervisor of FP and hence, we’re unable to present our case to him. Based on previous experience with repairs, my wife refused to contact yet another repair company. At this point, the oven still experienced power problems intermittently and also did not hold the correct temperature. We had, by then, purchased a portable countertop oven and we’re able to use it when the FP oven was in-operational. We also learned to adjust the temperature of the oven manually with the help of a digital thermometer disregarding the displayed temperature. In January 2013, less than two years from previous repairs and hence, technically, within the warranty period of these repairs, the oven seized to operate completely. We have since been without the wall oven. To call the experience with this oven a nightmare would be polite. Despite being used sparingly in a two-person household and not once having being used in the self-cleaning mode, the oven has NEVER worked reliably for any length of time. We have been without an oven more often than not and are now faced with purchasing a new oven. The primary problem appears to be that the service companies FP contracts for warranty repairs are utterly incompetent and have, in our opinion, contributed to the failure of the appliance. At some point, we, the customers, were therefore sufficiently worn out from the repair attempts that we essentially gave up and lived without the oven. We deeply regret having purchased a number of FP appliances over the years.

Can I give 0 stars? I feel I was duped by the sleek look and promised amazing performance of this oven (Double Wall Oven WODV30). It is gorgeous, and I fell victim to the wonderfully smooth roll out racks, 12 settings for each oven (top and bottom), and supposed long, worry-free life. I had this oven installed in my newly renovated kitchen in October 2014. It worked super for three months. I am a light-use household consumer, just a regular mom trying to feed my family of 5; nothing fancy, nothing commercial. It then blew out a circuit board in January 2015. The oven went completely haywire. Okay, maybe a lemon you say? Do you know what then happened with DCS wonderful customer service for my $5000.00 oven? It took them 3 weeks to send out a replacement part. A new circuit board, which BLEW as soon as the tech (who has much experience w/ DCS and FP) installed it. Then do you know what happened? It took 3 more weeks for me to fight with my appliance company and DCS to get them to acknowledge they did not know what was wrong with my oven, why it originally blew its original circuit board, and why the new circuit board blew immediately. Yes, smoke was coming off the board, and the tech was flabbergasted. So, yes, dear reader, I was without an oven for SIX WEEKS from January until March. No baking, no roasting, no family dinners, no desserts, NOTHING. It took 3 weeks for my entire kitchen renov in the first place, then 3 months later, SIX WEEKS, no oven. Tsk, tsk DCS!! For a $5000 oven! And to top it off, after my fight to get them to send a new, replacement oven, guess what? The top door has damage to the metal frame around the glass door; there is permanent marring of the metal and something between the glass. Luckily, this is covered under their 90 day cosmetic warranty. I hope that everyone reading this thinks twice about this product. On another note, my 5 burner cook top from DCS is awesome, but how can you get gas burners wrong, really. STAY AWAY.

Im very happy with my DCS 30 range. The range provides me with plenty of BTUs on all burners allowing me to do a proper saute and a great braise. The oven is very well insulated and does a great job with even browning from roasting chicken to baking bread. I do wish there was a switch to shut off the cooling fan so I can manually shut it off. Fisher Paykel washer and dryer. They are from New Zealand I believe. They were fairly low priced for high-efficiency machines and the washer was a top loader AND conserved water (like the front loaders) but for a better cost. The washer drum is floating and is moved with a magnet. No parts rubbing and strap to change. Pretty neat technology. It also has a large capacity allowing bigger loads (and less of them). The dryer is efficient and takes exactly the same amount of time as the washer to wash a load... Perfect timing. The washer has high spin speed which explains why the drying is fairly quick. We have had these machines probably close to 8-10 years now. Brand reputation is important and we are willing to do some research as we did when we bought the Fisher & Paykel machines. We always look for the best value for our money for products that meet our requirements. We are also willing to wait for the sales. The critiques you read from users are very insightful and we can be turned off if several people have issues with something that we know would bother us too. For example, low quality construction, excessive vibration, too much soap residue, too much time to dry, etc. We are very happy with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer we purchased 8-10 years ago. They are high efficiency, large capacity, top loader (washing machine); making them very user friendly and efficient. I have no regrets even though they dont look as cool as the front loaders but on the other side, I probably paid half the price of the good looking ones and I have the same value.

This is the second set of washer and dryer we have owned. Our daughter has the first set, and after 15 years, it is still working great. Due to a re-location, we purchased a new washer and dryer. The washer works fine. The dryer, on the other hand, is not working out. We had the repairman come out due to the fact that the dryer overheated. It had to be taken apart and all the lint had to cleaned up. As per the repairman, it is a design flaw. This has to happen every third week; the lint builds up so fast so I empty the lint holder every time I finish drying a load. We have had our dryer vent cleaned from the outside, and just to be sure, we cleaned it from the inside also. We are not happy with this dryer. My husband said we should just get a cheap dryer somewhere. I had so much confidence in Fisher Paykel that’s why we bought this second set.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. When I remodeled my kitchen almost 10 years ago, I loved the look of the Fisher Paykel double drawer dishwasher with the matching panels to my new cabinets. However, today it is unplugged and Im debating whether to repair or replace. Seems to have many electrical problems and a mind of its own. Fisher Paykel has replaced almost every part of the unit and repairs are costly. The last repair lasted less than a year. I live alone and ran the dishwasher once a week preferring to wash a few dishes by hand. The unit runs great and I love it when its working (last week). But, now if I plug it in, both units start up by themselves and beep. I keep turning them off and they restart! So, it sits unplugged til I make a decision on my next dishwasher. The Fisher Paykel dual drawer dishwasher is an excellent new example of high quality and performance in a kitchen dish washing appliance. The dual drawer is engineered wonderfully to provide multiple ways to perform, and perform it does! The two drawers provide flexibility beyond a normal/standard design. The loading capabilities are different yet provided with a lot of forethought given to providing space. It utilizes much more of the actual inside space of the two drawer/washers. Once you understand the loading capabilities of the provided inside racks and adjustment capabilities, the loading capabilities are creative and useful. Three simple buttons on the outside of each drawer provide easy execution of functions. The dual washers are extremely easy to start, stop or pause at any time, using the three simple buttons. The system has various wash cycles and times all easily accessed and executed by another single button conveniently located inside either drawers top edge. A small LED lit screen on each drawer face provides a moving icon that lets the user know have knowledge of what stage of a cycle the wash drawer is executing. The LED also shows the cycle time duration working backwards from a start time to the finish of the cycle. The Fisher Paykel system is very quiet working washer. Yes, you can hear some functions executing some times during the cycle, but it is very quiet overall. Most importantly, the Fisher Paykel Dual Washing system cleans and shines dishes, glassware and utensils with precision to a sparkling bright clean. This is especially true if the user does not allow large amounts of food to enter the system. Pre-rinsing is any dishwashers best friend! Use this kitchen appliance/tool correctly, and you will have a great dish washing experience with this product. By far, the Fisher Paykel Dual Dish Washing system is the highest quality, best working, and easy to use dish washing appliance I have ever had in any of my kitchens. I highly recommend the Fisher Paykel Dual Drawer Dish Washing Appliance/System for any kitchen.

Customer service is NON Existent. I have a F&P two drawer dishwasher. Generally speaking it is a good appliance, but if you need any parts, forget it. The agitator tends to wear out. It only costs about $100 to get a new one and it is dead easy to replace, BUT in my case F&P shipped the WRONG part under the right part number sticker, so the part didnt quite fit, or work. I engaged a professional, who took the very same part number out of her truck and put it in...and everything worked. Cost me an extra $300... but heres the thing. F&P said tough, we dont accept returns even if we made the mistake!... four times. And after talking to some appliance service people, this is apparently pretty common that what is in the box doesnt match the number printed on the box. So beware.

DEC27C and wL26CW1 - I have had a couple of problems with my units. However, two occasions they were covered by warranty (the washer). I just had a problem with my dryer. The bearing on the right side of the drum went bad. I called F&P and talked to the very nice rep who took my order for a new bearing assembly and sent it out to me UPS ground. The rep was kind enough to tell me that if I were handy, yes I could fix it myself and she was right. After the part arrived, it took about 15 to 20 minutes to repair. Wee, the dryer is back in service. My problem is the $250.00 of ruined clothing and the price of the part and shipping. I did contact a F&P authorized repair service, but the service is not what I would call great. When I called the tech and told him I thought it was the belt, he said It is not the belt; it is the bearing. You do what you know how to do and I will fix the dryers. That was a little insulting to say the least. He then told me the squeaking would not harm anything and I could continue to use the dryer, but it may spit out grease (hence the damaged clothes). Well, my wife used the dryer and ran a load of dressy whites and they came out with little spots all over them. So F&Ps authorized repair person gave me bad information. Live and learn. But as a whole, F&P on my dealings with them have been good. It is a shame that the face of F&P is who is giving them a bad name - the repair techs and their offices.

Its in my second home so Ive used them only five times but from what Ive used so far, Id give them a five although Im afraid because I havent had to service them and I do hear little horror stories.

This is the second FP washer owned but this time, we bought the new high efficiency one! Clothes often come out with black, greasy, soapy streaks on them, sometimes permanent staining. We use the recommended HE detergent and barely reach line 1 on the cap (any more causes loads of foam and machine to complain). Agren Appliances, from whom we bought the machine, sent out a technician to take a look but no remedy found. We have taken the damaged clothing to them and shown them what happens. They kindly gave us some powder detergent but the FP booklet recommends HE liquid detergent only. On calling FP customer service, we were told we were probably using too much detergent. Ha, if we use any less, we wonder whether our clothes will actually be cleaned! So what do we do? This machine is less than 1 year old and its a disaster. There is no support from the store we bought it from (despite having taken out extra service warranty) and FP doesnt want to help either. Surely, a machine cannot be HE if after washing it leaves clothes with dark streaks on them, hence needing a second wash! I dont see the efficiency in that! There seems to be little option other than to take it to the scrap heap and buy a new machine, different brand naturally. Hunk of junk, never to be recommended to anyone.

I bought a Fisher & Paykel washing machine 4 years ago and it has broken down for the second time! It gets to the spin cycle and stops! I have read some reviews on here about their washing machines and I wish I had seen them before I bought mine. I spent a lot of money on this and bought it on the recommendation of the salesman. I will never again purchase anything made by Fisher & Paykel!

I bought a Fisher & Paykel range on 11/9/11. It was delivered on 12/7/11. I moved into the house on 12/12/11. I had a spill over during the first week. The two front burners allowed spill to go into the mechanism, the orifice and into the burner. I am not happy with the design and feel that it is a design flaw. I have had over 50 years of experience with ranges and have never seen one like that that does not allow for cleaning. I contacted Big 1 for resolution. They sent a service technician who stated that the burner needed to be replaced. After he left, the center burner would not light at all and the two front burners tried to ignite no matter which burner I tried to turn on.

We have had a Fisher & Paykel dish drawer for a few years and have been pleased with the dish drawer after we learned some of the nuances of a dish drawer. Recently, we had to replace the rotor. I contacted the company to purchase the rotor and found it was less expensive buying it directly. The company was easy to work with and the item sent quickly. After replacing the rotor, we found there were more problems than we had initially thought. I contacted the authorized repair facility and they also were great to deal with. However, I would like to see other dealers in order to do some price comparisons because we had to pay extra fees on top of the repair bill due to the distance. They also charged quite a lot per hour. The repairman was extremely helpful on teaching me something so I could repair the drawer on my own if I ever had to.The repairman contacted F&P due to some previous poor repairs before we owned the home. F&P offered to pay for the parts, we just had to pay for labor. The repairman repaired the most difficult part that we initially called him about and I was able to order other parts and repair them myself later. The entire experience (although frustrating to be sans a dish drawer) was very easy and in all cases, the parts were cheaper dealing directly with F&P. I will also say it really was great to at least have one drawer to wash dishes while the other was out of commission. The only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5 was due to a shipping error which delayed my order. It would be nice to get an email confirmation regarding what parts are being shipped in order to catch such errors before time is wasted.

My fridge became faulty and I called a Fisher & Paykel (F&P) technician. He recommended that I replace the fridge and gave me a voucher that entitled me to a Loyalty Bonus if I chose the same brand again. I did and submitted my claim for A $50 Gift Card which I was to receive within 48 days. When I did not receive it I contacted F&P who advised that they had already sent it, by ordinary mail. I requested F&P to send me another but they did not accept responsibility for the loss as the Gift Card had been redeemed by somebody. It was their decision (based on their internal policy) to send a Gift Card (which is just as good as Cash) by ordinary mail. Note that postage costs $1 for ordinary and $4.80 for registered mail. I am amazed that an established organization such as F&P acknowledges that they are aware of some issues in recent times where mail has been stolen out of mailboxes but continues to take risks with Gift Cards. They do so knowing very well that it will not be cost-effective for a customer to make a formal claim in a tribunal or court. So when mail gets stolen or lost F&P does not take any responsibility. I have decided that going forward I will not give F&P a single dollar in business because I do not deal with those who are more focused on playing the blame game. F&P may have saved $3.80 in postage but has lost a customer, bought themselves adverse publicity and jeopardised future sales. Good luck to them!

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We called F & P and they told us we were out of warranty and offered us a pro rated price on a new refrigerator.

I gave the benefit of the doubt to Fisher & Paykel, thinking it was just a fluke that the first machine needed to be replaced. The second machine lasted until just as the warranty is about to expire. We were getting a new kitchen installed last May, and after much consideration had gone with almost all Fisher and Paykel appliances. Unfortunately our son had an accident in the kitchen mid Sept shattering the front piece of glass on the oven door. We called Services about a replacement which was showing available online but it took a whole week of ringing every day only to be told that there was no stock of the glass part or a whole door and they couldnt tell for sure when it would be available. Well its 4 weeks now and we have called repeatedly and emailed customer care as well to no avail. Polite and sorry as they always are when speaking on the phone or responding in their emails, the staff seem to be at a loss for a resolution. There seems not to be an answer from the technical team here in the UK which is totally mind boggling for a supposed reputable and growing company. We are sorry that the only people we can speak with are helpless and taking the flak for F&Ps poor services. How does Fisher and Paykel actually function in their after-sales care or do they actually care for their customers? If only we had known this, we would not have kitted out our kitchen with so many F&P appliances. But now that our architect, builders and friends see what we are currently facing, no one is likely to use or recommend the use of F&P appliances. Its a real shame, good products but poor organisation. We have decided the next step would be to refer case to the Ombudsman.

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

I have a washer and dryer set that I have had for a few years. It has not been anything but trouble since I have had them. The washer has been worked on twice and once the repairman left off a hose and water filled my floor and messed up some of my flooring. Then the dryer had been worked on two or three times and right now it sounds like the whole drum is about to come out. I am tired of having to call a repairman to take care of problems. I tried to tell the people that I bought it from that I thought it was a lemon from the get go, because I had not had it maybe 1 month when it had to be worked on the first time. I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. Appliances cost too much these days to have to keep having them repaired, because the average person nowadays have been cut back in their pay checks and are not able to afford repair bills.

I have owned my Fisher and Paykel Ecosmart Autowasher Model GWL15 since 2010. The first time, we had a problem with the spin cycle was August 2012 (past the 2 year warranty period). I paid $180 to have the pump replaced. The repairman said that this is a frequent problem with this brand of washers. Fast forward to today, April 6, 2014. The washer quit after the wash cycle again. I tried several times to reset it by unplugging it like the owners manual instructed, only to have NO results again. I had to take the clothes out and wring them out by hand. I then had to empty the washer by hand to prepare for the repairman to come AGAIN. I will never buy another Fisher and Paykel product, nor will I recommend Fisher and Paykel to anyone!! I have never had any appliance fail like this one has.

We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house that we were building. Due to problems with the builder, the dishwasher sat unpacked in a garage for a year. When it was finally installed, it didnt work! First, the bottom drawer didnt drain. We called a plumber to come look at it. He called the Fisher & Paykel appliance rep. They recommended that we install two separate drain lines. It still didnt drain. The appliance guy and plumber each came out again and we even tried a different plumber. Now the bottom drawer drains but the top one doesnt, which completely defeats the purpose of having a dual drawer dishwasher. We contacted Fisher and Paykel and Lowes where we purchased the appliance and neither would offer any assistance as the warranty had expired. We have only used the machine 20 times. Its such a shame and waste. Our KitchenAid dual drawer dishwasher at our old home worked much better with no problems. We had bought this one because we were told it was quieter. It is quieter because we dont use it

We purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator, which was far more expensive than any other fridge that we considered. After delivery, we called to say that it was not cooling. The technician came once and added gas. After a day, it again stopped cooling. The technician came again, realized that there was a leak, and soldered some wires. When it started working, it was noisy. We called again, and they said they would replace the fridge the following week. They sent a truck to pick up the faulty one, and when we called the store to ask when the new one would be delivered, we learned that FP had changed their mind and did not want us as customers. Consumers be warned. Do not waste your money on Fisher Paykel products (DCS). Remodeled kitchen went with all Fisher Paykel products. Experienced product failure with the Dish Drawer and FP refused to replace the manufactured parts that were faulty saying the product was out of warranty. I pushed back stating if the failed items were due to misuse or normal wear and tear, I would agree but these were parts that failed due to poor manufacturing. Coated parts that broke down and rusted out. FP did not care. Then experienced problems with the motor on one of the dish drawer. Tech came out twice and the second time the unit worked worst when he left, telling us the noise level was normal. Normal? It didnt sound like that when he got there, and it didnt sound like that when we first installed it. Experienced problems with the double ovens. Used the self-cleaning function four times and the broiler coil burned out. The tech replaced the broiler coil and then told us not to use the self-cleaning function because the broil coils will burn out again. Told us to use an oven cleaner, which FP instruction manual says not to. Experienced problem with the cooktop. Followed the instructions for cleaning. Then the igniters stopped working, or when you turned on one, a different one would attempt to ignite. Tech came in told us not to follow the recommended cleaning process. Told us to use simple cleaner and soft sponge. Cooktop looks like crap now. Experienced problems with noisy microwave. Too disgusted to bother calling for repair. Do not waste your time or money. FP will not support you and will look for any reason or ways to get out of spending their money to make things right when you likely as I did, spent big bucks to purchase their product.

And when the top drawer stop working I did not wanted to call the factory service because I thought about the high cost of factory service calls. What a mistake that was. After checking with several local appliance companies I finally located one that said that they did work on Fisher Paykel dishwasher. After three visits during one month and after replacing several parts the serviceman finally gave up and said I cannot fix it, please call the factory service.I did send an email to Fisher Paykel service department and I received an immediate response confirming my request and 2 days later the service call was confirmed. The friendly service man arrived early (something very unusual for servicemen). It took one look at the dishwasher, did a five-minute software diagnostic, remove the front cover of the top dishwasher and point at the control box and said that is what is wrong. One small plastic tab of the control box was broken and the box was loose. He explained that because the age of the dishwasher the plastic becomes brittle and started to break. Gave me the price of the new box, very reasonable and mentioned he had one on his truck. He went ahead to get the new box. Close the cover, tested the dishwasher and he was out to the next service call in 20 minutes. It cost me $330 for a job well done. Great service and if you have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher do not call any other than the service department of Fisher Paykel. Great service. Thank you.

I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximate
Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2001 because I thought that the two drawers would be great since there are just two of us at home. Directly out of the box, this dishwasher had a dented stainless steel panel on one of the drawers. The water sensor was defective in the other, which caused noisy alarms and error messages. It only got better from there. Both drawers seals were defective and replaced multiple times in the first year. When the seal again caused alarms to go off after the warranty, the bill was over $150.00 each time this happened. These drawers were lemons from the start and should have been replaced. I have not used the machine for eight years. My husband and I do our dishes by hand. However, my current horror with this product is that now, to add insult to injury, the two drawers take turns in making beeping and/or clicking noises and the lights flash. This leads us to turn off the circuit breaker. Since my trash compactor is also on that circuit, I am unable to use everything in the kitchen that is also on that circuit--unless I go to the basement and turn on the breaker. This product is not worth the effort of purchasing. After the first year of keeping the machine running, I was told that the changes were made to the drawers that improved the quality and reliability. This purchase has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend this product to a friend. Just the thought of paying another $1,800.00 to some company for a machine to wash my dishes gives me pause to say the least. I am extremely disappointed in every aspect of this product. Certainly, the design, workmanship, quality control, value and servicing have failed to meet its intended purpose.

We have an F&P double dish draw. The top draw started to have an error message mid wash - U6. The bottom draw worked perfectly. It took 2 weeks to get a service appointment after being cut off on the phone twice. They came this morning and replaced a water valve but confirmed the bottom draw was in perfect working order. $180 later, valve replaced and told all good. Load the dish draw tonight after dinner and go to turn on. No power to either draw. I think the service tech must have turned off at the power point. No it is on. We connect to another power source. Still no power. I call F and P after hours number. Eventually a very unhelpful and non caring Leah tells me the earliest appointment to attend is Monday next week.We have Christmas at our home this weekend and cannot be without a dishwasher. Surely we would be a priority as it was working before they attended. I was put on hold abruptly for 12 minutes, and then had another staff member say that there would be no refund and I had to have a booking for the new problem. They would try for tomorrow but no guarantee. I now have to take a second day off work, have no dishwasher at all for the Christmas party, and if I am lucky I might not have to pay for them to fix their own mistake. Shame shame shame on you F&P. And a little empathy and customer service training would not go astray. Also I do expect a refund for your technician mistake that has cost me. Very unhappy.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel GWL11 washing machine about 8 years ago. For the first few years the machine performed well but on the very day the warranty was up the Motor Control board went bad. Fisher Paykel paid for another board but we were out $250 for the service call. The next thing that happened was this year. The machine would not function in several wash modes and would only spin at slow or medium speeds. Last week, the washer refused to spin at all. I bought another board (not cheap!) and then discovered that the old board may have gone bad because of a design flaw. The board is not protected from short circuit with the pump motor and the pump motor has a tendency to leak after a while. This causes a short that blows out the board. The factory does or did not acknowledge the problem. So, I then purchased a replacement pump (also not cheap!) that came with an inline fuse to prevent this from happening again. I put everything back together and all kinds of new problems. The GWL11 was an expensive machine at the time we purchased it and all we have done is put more money into it. Despite the new control board & pump, the machine will overfill unless you stop it manually, the lid lock cycles back and forth and then beeps preventing the machine from going into any spin cycle. At this point, I have had it with this machine! I will never buy another Fisher Paykel product and I will discourage everyone I know from buying their products. My last washing machine, a Sears Kenmore lasted me 17 years and it STILL WORKED! I only sold it to upgrade to the Fisher Paykel. Im going to take it out to the farm and use it for target practice. At least I will get SOME satisfaction from this lousy machine!

While our experience with the local vendor/service provider for our Fisher Paykel refrigerator has been less than stellar the product is superb. The refrigerator is exceptionally quiet and fits neatly into the cabinetry designed for an apartment sized unit. I am personally delighted with the stainless steel look that still allows for the use of magnets to display refrigerator art offerings from the grandchildren. I will be purchasing a Fisher Paykel refrigerator for our new dwelling.

We bought a DD603 dishwasher in 2002 and it has worked reasonably well since then. However, a problem seems to have developed on the top drawer. I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. The minimum cost in my area for a service call from an authorized servicer is $65 for just a diagnosis. F&P refuses to defray any part of this cost.

We built a new house and purchased all new appliances Feb 2007. New fisher paykel washer GLW15 - loved it at first. Their repair service is done by Howie **. I had them repair the Uline wine cooler and after a year of them ordering parts and trying this and that, I would not have them come back to my house for the washer. I used a respected appliance repair person used for years on my apt building. June 2009 replaced drain pump, August 2010 replaced drain pump. February 2011 replaced drain pump, June 21, 2011 drain pump is fine, circuit board is shot. One on order - it is now August 17 - still no circuit board and no idea when it is coming. I have no had to pay for laundry to be done for 8 weeks.

We bought a BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and on the 8th day, which is only the 3rd time we have used it, when it spin, the whole machine was shaking badly. So we called Fisher Paykel Customer Service and advised what happened. We took a video of the machine shaking. They scheduled us for a day for the repairman to check so my husband went off for work just to able to attend to the repairman. And then, he said, it defective and he requested with their Customer Service for it to be replaced...The second BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE arrives but when we tried it, it also shakes but not as bad as the first unit. My husband wanted to call Customer Service again. I told him, its not bad as the first unit so maybe its just normal, but the next time we used it, shaking was not good, so we took a video of it again just to show how the machine is again shaking. And not just that, we had these boxes of my boots at the side of the washing machine and its all wet and it just came to our knowledge that the BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE has a leak as well... What a quality. ;( So we called Customer Service and requested for another day to have a check on it, that was weekend. We requested if they can schedule us on the coming Monday for I am on leave from work but they said its all fully booked. They scheduled us on Wednesday same week 12-5pm.However, this is the 2nd time of this issue with this BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE and its not that easy to ask from work for another half day or leave. So my husband clearly advised with the Customer Service that he will be available by 5pm and they said back theyll see. So on Wednesday, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will come on 5pm that day. The person I spoke to tells me that the technician will be finished working by 4:30pm in our area so 5pm is not possible. So I told her, is there any other option for we need someone to check the machine for it is not fair that we are paying a lot of money on this defective BRAND NEW FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE.She throw the question back to me asking me what are other options I can think of. She told me shell ask the technician to call me 1hr before hell come. Just to put in perspective, she is quite nice lady, though. So I told her, I can use my lunch time to drive home just for this to be checked for I cant have another leave for I just had one. So she checked the technician schedule and said that we are scheduled for 12-1pm so it is fine that I can drive back home at lunch time so the technician can come at the scheduled time as what their system is saying. So I was thinking when she says that we are scheduled on 12-1pm, I just need to just go home and wait for the technician on the scheduled time.So I approached my Manager and advised that Ill be leaving but be back by 1sh. So when I arrived home around 12:10pm, I called Customer Service to confirm that technician will be coming as what was scheduled, as what their system is showing. But the lady on the other line says a straight NO, YOU ARE 12-5PM, NOT 12-1PM. Which makes my blood went up to my head. I drive 35-45 minutes to come home and then you will tell me that technician will not see me as what Ive been advised on phone earlier? I was pretty mad, disappointed whatever you call it, that we bought this FISHER PAYKEL WASHING MACHINE. The reason we bought a brand new is not to have a lot of drama, but we had more that we expected... Not really happy with the unit and with the Customer Service. I better refund the money for this unit and buy another Brand. THUMBS DOWN...

From the day I purchased my Fisher Paykel washer, it leaked. I had service techs out at least 5 or 6 times to repair it. First, they told me I was using too much laundry detergent. So I cut it in half. That was wrong, it still leaks. After 2 years, now, it has started making a high-pitched squealing sound. First, it started only when it started filling, then when it started to spin, and now all the time. It still leaks. Thank goodness, I was smart enough after the first flood to purchase a drain pan to sit it in, or I would be replacing floors constantly. The agitator has had to be replaced 3 times already. I would not recommend any Fisher Paykel appliances to anyone. The company is no help at all and the appliance store ( Maidencreek TV & Appliance, Reading, Pa) are useless. Their service techs are hopeless, as to what to do to fix the problem. They recommended I purchase an extended warranty since I was having so much trouble with the unit. If you want to throw your money away, just purchase a Fisher Paykel appliance. My new GE washer and dryer arrives on Friday. I told my husband to leave the washer in the yard and every time I use my new unit, I want to beat the Fisher Paykel with a sledge hammer and after that, I want to hook a chain to it and drag it behind my truck.

I picked this refrigerator out in 2005. It uses 485 kWh per year. I got to choose which side of the door handle is on. Freezer on bottom. Supposedly if I have any problems with. I get a new one free.
