I must be one of the few to have a positive experience with F&P. We purchased a washer/dryer set in 2003. We still have the dryer but are on our second GWL11 washer. The first one lasted 10 years. In that time it was subjected to hard water and a family of four. The pump is definitely the weak link, as I replaced at least two in that time. Also had to replace a water inlet valve. The new pumps come with a inline fuse to install on the harness to the controller to prevent it from getting ruined if the pump shorts out. None of the repairs were done in warranty. F&P washers are very easy to diagnose and repair so I have been able to do all my repairs. After too many large loads and 10 years of hard water the strut rods that keep the drum in balance wore out. I found a super clean GWL11 for $80 on CL to replace it. We now have a water softener so this machine stays cleaner and cleans more efficiently.I saved parts off the old machine for future repairs. I did change the pump not long after I got it. Now three years later that used pump went out, this time the windings shorted out, taking the controller with it. I blew off installing the inline fuse, so this could of easily been prevented. I bought a new pump for $110 and installed my used controller and its running just fine again. I know this all sounds like a nightmare of repairs, but if you are able to be a little bit inclined to take on a challenge you can save a lot of money on paying the repair person. I dont have a lot of money laying around to buy new appliances every few years. From the reviews I read, many new high efficiency washers dont clean well and are repair prone. When I do break down and buy a new one sometime in the future, I will definitely consider F&P again, along with Speed Queen.

After 2 years of excessive repairs on our original DCS stove that we bought
After 2 years of excessive repairs on our original DCS stove that we bought with the home we decided to end the misery and buy a new one. Well 3 months after buying this beautiful new 48 inch gas range it too turns out to be of poor quality. The large oven failed to work. This is the same kind of failure on my old stove. It took 3 weeks later the service tech came out to fix it after many calls and escalations! Well he was to come from 1-3 pm, he came at 8 PM! And was shocked to see the stove, he was unable to move the stove much less fix it! Well after 2 hours of pulling my new stove apart and struggling to put it back he left with a promise to come back. I called the company and sure no one answered. The distributor was even more evasive. The owner of the store I bought the stove, refused to talk to me. Today being July 4th, we still are unable to cook in the oven and I have no clue when the stove will be fixed.

This dishwasher comes as two, drawer-sized units. We are empty nesters, and two small units are much more convenient than one large one. This is the second FP we have had. Original put to market way too early. Second generation has been reliable, cleans well, and is very convenient. Will buy a 3rd when this one breaks.

I, too, was coerced by a salesperson at Lowe’s to pay a huge sum for a washer/dryer set. When delivered the dryer did not work after 3 days. I only agreed to them bringing a new dryer. The dryer does not dry well and always taking twice as long as the washer, even though I am vigilant about keeping lint traps and piping clean. Now it is making a high pitched whining sound--bearings? The washer is constantly out of balance even though it is level and on a concrete floor. It spun clothes nearly dry when new, but now I sometimes run the spin cycle a second time to remove more moisture. Thought I would read reviews before calling the repairman. I now think I might go shopping instead of throwing more money at a hopeless situation. I will never buy this brand again and long for my old Maytag set.

Fisher Paykel washer and dryer. They are from New Zealand I believe. They were fairly low priced for high-efficiency machines and the washer was a top loader AND conserved water (like the front loaders) but for a better cost. The washer drum is floating and is moved with a magnet. No parts rubbing and strap to change. Pretty neat technology. It also has a large capacity allowing bigger loads (and less of them). The dryer is efficient and takes exactly the same amount of time as the washer to wash a load... Perfect timing. The washer has high spin speed which explains why the drying is fairly quick. We have had these machines probably close to 8-10 years now. Brand reputation is important and we are willing to do some research as we did when we bought the Fisher & Paykel machines. We always look for the best value for our money for products that meet our requirements. We are also willing to wait for the sales. The critiques you read from users are very insightful and we can be turned off if several people have issues with something that we know would bother us too. For example, low quality construction, excessive vibration, too much soap residue, too much time to dry, etc. We are very happy with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer we purchased 8-10 years ago. They are high efficiency, large capacity, top loader (washing machine); making them very user friendly and efficient. I have no regrets even though they dont look as cool as the front loaders but on the other side, I probably paid half the price of the good looking ones and I have the same value.

Bought a Fisher and Paykel dish drawer less than two years ago. Around the beginning of March there was an error code warning on the machine and it was leaking water onto my hardwood floors. I contacted Fisher and Paykel and was told to work with the one service repair company in Austin Texas. They finally came out on March 9th to look at my machine. The technician told me the symptoms of my machine did not make sense but if he swapped out a few parts it would probably resolve the issue. Finally two weeks later I was told the parts were indefinitely on backorder. At this point I called Fisher and Paykel directly. I was given the royal run around. I contacted the company 12 times over the course of 6 days. Each time I was assured that someone would call me back in the next hour or so. Never got that call. When I called back in to follow up on the issue, I was told a different story and that it was out of the representatives hands or that they were a New Zealand company and the person in charge was gone for the day. I was told the companies issue was due to the long shoremans strike and my part would likely arrive in late April. I stressed that the technician was not totally sure the parts would fix my machine, so I was supposed to wait six weeks for parts which may not even get my machine working again.

This is our first purchase with Fisher and Paykel and they were recommended to me by the home builder. We built a new house and got a dish drawer. I like it a lot. Its perfect. Its a tiny dish drawer and works great. If you have parties or the holiday season, it cleans everything really well and its quiet. I cant think of anything wrong with it.

I was told in the store that the Fisher & Paykel refrigerator was a very quiet model, but its not. Its noisy and I did have to call them because since I got it, I cant sleep at night. Its cycling continually and extremely loud, like a jet taking off. The technician came out and said that I didnt have much in my freezer and suggested putting in jugs of water. But since then, I do have a roommate who uses the freezer and its a bit quieter, but not as quiet as I thought it would be. I had been concerned that my old ref was not energy efficient and thats why I got rid of it and got this one and it seems to be functioning okay, but I dont know how much energy its saving me. I am disappointed with the noise and I check back at the store and they said well, the new appliances do cycle on and are sensitive to drops in temperature. So it could be I didnt get complete information and didnt research this completely as I needed to. Im happy that its got a modern design and I like the size. If it were a bit quieter, I would be happier.

We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in Nov. 2005 with the extended warranty from Lowes. After one year I had to have the water pump replaced. After two years I had the pump clog. I have had clothes torn. I had to have repairman come out-total on that visit took two weeks to repair. Now we have a loud noise with the washer. Each year there has been a problem with the washer-now we go onto the dryer. The control panel goes in and out; now have a very loud noise. It doesnt always dry the clothes. The lint screens are torn, which allows the lint to go behind the lint panel and causes the dryer to turn off if there is too much in there. It clogs the whole thing; of course we once again have the repairman on his way, which he thinks it is the bearings or the pulleys in the dryer. I wonder what that is going to cost. Needless to say, we will most likely not have the dryer repaired. We will have to purchase another washer and dryer. I’m so tired of the whole mess. We will never buy a Fisher and Paykel. When you talk with customer service it is like speaking to the wall. There’s no help whatsoever. This company does not stand behind their products. It’s good money just thrown away!

Purchased this dryer ($649) in March 2018. The circuit board crashed within the first month. 9 months later I had to have it repaired because small pieces of laundry & the dryer sheet kept getting caught inside the drum, which resulted in tightly twisted clothing stuck to the inside of the drum. I am now awaiting my second circuit board as the dryer malfunctioned again. I had to open the door to the dryer to get it to stop running because none of the controls would work. This is clearly a fire hazard! The appliance store has been great about dealing with these issues but with 3 repairs in less than 19 months, I will never again buy this brand!

I already had one of the F & P double-drawer dishwashers at our other house before we moved here and we gathered the whole kitchen here. I put a single-desk drawer on each side of the sink and then a regular storage drawer below so I don’t have to bend over. I chose the Fisher & Paykel appliance because I was fascinated by the concept of the desk drawers and design-wise, doing things a little different. And then when we downsized from a 6000 square foot home to a 3000 square foot home, my husband and I both said we wanted to get them again. So we went 90 miles away to get them. We like the new models of F & P appliance compared with the old ones we’ve had in the past. They’re better, and the new ones are so quiet. We just love them.

Should have come to this site before purchasing. Our first Smart Touch Dryer stopped heating within two months of purchase. The heat switch had failed and then burnt out!!! Didnt hear from the tech after he left so two weeks called as wondered what was happening. Told it would be up to six weeks before the part was manufactured overseas and shipped to Auckland, NZ. This is a New Zealand owned company but we no longer stock the parts!!! F & P rep could not explain why I hadnt heard from them or the tech until I called them. Man of the house insisted on a new machine. Second brand new machine has stopped heating after six weeks. Four towels in a new large 6kg machine resulted in no heat again and we are now waiting again for a tech to come. Have asked for a loan machine but told that F & P dont do this. Poor rep started to tell me that if they did, they would never have enough to go around but she quickly stopped as she realized what she was saying. Samsung do a loan machine with all of their repairs. Have asked the tech to bring the heat switch with him this time and a spare so that we can fix it ourselves when it goes again lol. First ever Fisher & Paykel appliance and will be the last. Pricing a Samsung today. FYI - Support Centre response is faster from F & P via Twitter as they would prefer no negative feedback on their site. Phone support was abysmal. Have had a Samsung washing machine for two years and never a problem. Samsung also have a two year warranty instead of F & Ps 12 months. Lesson learned in our household.

I have owned a F&P double dishwasher for 7 years. Approximately 6 months ago, the machine began to leak on the top level and the dishes were not clean on the bottom. I looked on the F&P website and found the information for several nearby repairmen. I contacted the first person and he came to check the machine. He charged $80 to look at it & stated that he needed to order a part. We called him several times in the next few weeks, but he said the part was not in. After a few more calls, we gave up and called a 2nd repair from the list. Unfortunately, we had the same experience (and paying $143) - after calling 3 or 4 times, the repairman never returned our call.I called F&P customer service and explained what happened. The customer service person gave us another repair shop to call and stated that F&P would likely reimburse us for the house call fees, which was now over $200 with no repairs done. The new company that we called stated that they only fix machines that they have sold & that F&P should NOT have given out their information. I called back and got yet another name, which, thankfully turned out to be legitimate. Our machine was finally fixed (at a cost of $372). My dissatisfaction is with the referring of several repair companies who clearly could not fix our machine, and paying money for no service. When I contacted F&P about the events above, I was told that they would NOT reimburse me the house call money. I assure you that I would not purchase another of their products!

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher through Lowes. The reason I chose this is because its the only brand that makes that little drawer dishwasher anymore. I absolutely needed that size unit because we have very small condominium kitchen and I just simply could not have a drawer that laid down, theres no space, so I like the unit very much. Its working fine and the quality seemed good. The stainless is good. The installation was fairly easy. It was done by a contractor and Ive been happy with it. It was an easy purchase. Lowes did okay. There are a lot of people who are living in smaller spaces as things get smaller so I think those compact appliances are really great.

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We called F & P and they told us we were out of warranty and offered us a pro rated price on a new refrigerator.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer from Sears roughly 4 years ago. Dryer stopped heating. I found a repair person, had to order parts. It is now 1.5 weeks later and the parts are finally in. It will be another day or so before the repairman can come over, $330 for repair and two weeks of hanging clothes or going to laundromat for drying. I would have to seriously reconsider purchasing this brand again with this type of wait for parts.

I was contacted by a Fisher & Paykel customer service representative who read my complaint. She explained to me that all I needed was a copy of my receipt and she would see what could be done to take care of my problem. I knew I purchased my dryer at Lowe’s so I thought that I would be able to call them to get a copy. Well, that didnt work out quite like I thought. Lowe’s on the back end couldnt find my receipt so I thought I was out of luck. The Fisher & Paykel representative said not to worry, just give me the make and model number and we would go about this a different way. So I did. Fisher & Paykel set up an appointment with a service tech who got the part I needed and came out and installed it. My dryer is now working and my wife is happy. Now that my wife is happy, Im happy. Thanks, Fisher & Paykel, for standing behind your product. To all those who are complaining: it’s not what happens that matters, it’s how the company responds to the problem!

After saving for a few years we purchased a DCS duel fuel range model Rds366ss. The stove was $5695, the vented hood was another $1295 and the back panel and shelf kit was another $395. Since purchased, the oven would heat higher than the required temp and after several tech visits with no results, we decided to live with it, adjusting the temp as we cooked. Then after a couple of years I had to repair all six of the spark igniters. Now after nine years, the stove has quit working altogether and after another tech visit we were told the oven thermostat had failed and needed a new one, part#210766. Calling DCS customer care for a replacement we were told the part was no longer available and there were no replacement parts for it. After checking many websites we found that the part was indeed obsolete with no substitute parts that would work in its place.Calling DCS back and speaking with a customer service tech we were told that maybe the part could be found used online. Another option was maybe we should consider buying another stove! Are you kidding me. After spending all this money on a stove we thought would last at least twenty years, were told we should think about buying a new stove after only nine years. We are so mad at ourselves for not researching this stove before purchasing it and now after reading nothing but negative reviews for the products made by Fisher-Paykel. We are stunned that a huge company like this can getaway with this consumer robbery. Wish there was some way to warn people about buying from this company and its total disregard for customer satisfaction.

They looked nice in the picture. When I saw them for the 1st time, the construction looked cheap but I thought, well, Ill see how they perform and not judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Anyways, I have had them for just about a year now and cannot wait to get something new. The washer always stops working and wont spin out. So I have to wring out the clothes. The washer doesnt wash them very well. I can still smell odors after my clothes have been washed and dried. I dont know why, but all of our clothes are getting these small holes all over them. The lip on the washer locks so you can start it after you put detergent in. I can go on and on. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Maytag or Whirlpool, anything but this. Its cheap and the makers should be ashamed. But I dont think they will be around long. You market garbage and you’re soon to be out of business. Hope someone actually reads this before they buy one. I wish I did. From the looks of the ratings, everyone else seems to think the same.

Fisher Paykel washer debacle - For the fourth time in seven years, the entire logic control board has gone out. I had a Kenmore washer from Sears for 25 years and never had a hitch. Whats wrong with these foreign engineers? They cant seem to figure out US power. Each time the board went out, we waited at least three months to get parts and repairs! What kind of service is that? Now that it is off warranty, I am throwing it in the dump with all the other Fisher Paykel land fill appliances. What a waste of money, time and energy this has been. Shame on Lowes for selling this poor excuse for a product. Can you tell Im angry? I trotted down to Sears today and got me another Kenmore.

Weve had a Fisher and Paykel washing machine for 12 years. Its durable and the drying cycle, spin cycle is exceptionally good. We have called several times for service and its lacking. We had to go through the store that we bought it from. They were unsure of just how the service was going to be. They gave the names but I dont think they really knew what happens beyond that. Its a typical retailer, you get them on the phone; say you got some service problem and thats probably the last thing they want to hear. I like the brand. I would definitely recommend that particular product. As far as service wise, I think they have a long way to go in making people feel good about the service.

The water wouldnt stop dripping into the tub so we had to call someone out to fix this issue. Now the washer has quit all together. About 5 years ago we lost our house to a fire. We lost everything so had to purchase all new appliances. We purchased a 2-drawer dishwasher and fridge. After approx. 2 years the fridge quit and lost all our frozen content. To be fair the company paid for the repairs. Just recently the dishwasher keeps filling up with mold. Called a repairman and he said it would cost approx. 350.00 to repair the sensors which make the heat come on all the time-so the mold. Cant turn it off. Every time it is opened the heat comes on. The next day our fridge did the same thing as 2 years before..Again we again called Fisher Paykel on both occasion dishwasher and fridge. We were told that appliances have a 4-5 year life and the problem was ours. Both these appliances were very expensive and should have a longer life. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THEM AGAIN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. I have seen you have provided repair for others free of charge. I would appreciate if you could offer the same treatment in our case. Thanks. There are many places to buy the parts but thought I would go right to the source. I ordered parts and was assured delivery within 5-7 days. After 2-1/2 weeks I called them. They have no proof of the order. I sent them the confirmation that they sent me showing order number, price, and charged credit card. I sent that back to them and that was not enough proof. I had to go track down and submit proof from my credit card statement that I was in fact charged. I sent that to them and still have not heard anything back. I will give it one more day and then I will fight it with credit card company. I really rely on customer service especially when purchasing something as expensive as this range was. This will be the last time I ever order any appliance with a brand name affiliated with this group. Very disappointed customer!!

I bought a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher and refrigerator quite some time ago. After 3 or 4 years, the dishwasher was deemed beyond repair so we had to buy a new one. The loading on the new dishwasher is worse than the previous one and neither one of them were very good. We have a very narrow kitchen and the fact that these are drawers rather than the drop down door is very helpful and thats why we tolerate the other shortcomings or things that have changed. The machine is so complicated that it doesnt run well and it cant be fixed when it breaks.

We purchased the washer and dryer 5 years ago as appliance sales people everywhere gave the set rave reviews. Their excitement had to be due to huge spiffs or incentives for selling these as I have never owned anything so problematic. Among the issues, no service people know how or want to repair them. The washer doesnt clean clothes, water temp is never correct, and there are error codes. The dryer doesnt catch lint, it is noisy and it stopped working. I have been told by several salespeople, They are so easy to work on. Very few moving parts, etc. What no one tells you is that moving parts are very inexpensive compared to the circuit boards needed to possibly fix my dryer so it will run. $360.00 for the parts and who knows for labor! Despicable! I will never do business with Fisher & Paykel again nor will I pay to talk to a service rep on line. Very poor customer service.

When we built our house, my wife did her shopping around for her appliances and she basically liked the dual dish drawer concept and Fisher & Paykel seemed to be the only one around that had it available. Compared to the other dishwashers we had in the past Fisher & Paykel is superior in noise, cleaning, versatility. Being able to use just a minor amount versus the whole thing because it had two drawers, two different sizes. There’s a big problem we had with getting the warranty registered because the builder installed it and we assumed he registered the warranty, but he didnt. So we had to go back and look at the procedures. It took quite a bit of time to get the warranty registered correctly. Since it was a foreign country that was working in the United States, there’s a bit of a language situation too. Their accent was a little hard to understand sometimes.

I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

My Fisher & Paykel Washer failed to pump out water or complete a spin cycle. The technician from the store that we bought it from, determined that the pump was not operating and needed to be replaced. This company no longer carries Fisher& Paykel products mainly because it continues to change replacement parts, and have poor support in receiving parts. He did contact the Service Dept. for F&K and was able to find the part number needed for the pump. My wife had to contact them to order and pay for the part. After receiving the shippings tracking number and date of delivery, it became a waiting game. When the package did not arrive on the expected date, my wife contacted the customer service personnel and initially was informed that they could not find the order; then determined that the order did not ship because an additional part was required for the pump. As luck would have it, this part was not in California but was located somewhere in Kentucky.By and large, someone took it upon himself to cancel the order, but failed to inform us of the situation. My wife now had to get the correct information, order the part, trust the so-called experts to credit our charge account, and play the waiting game. Mind you, 2 weeks has lapsed since this process began. When the much awaited part arrived, we had to wait another 4 days for the service tech to install it. Today when I arrived home from work, I found my wife in tears and on the verge of a mental breakdown. The part was installed and when the tech ran a cycle through the machine with a load of clothes in it, it failed to pump the water out again. To make a long story short, when he talked to a tech at F&P, he was informed that a change made to their parts required that the motherboard also needs to be replaced at the time a new part was installed. Now we are talking an additional $190 for the part and $25 for shipping and handling. The total cost with parts already received was $357. NFW are we going to continue to pump money in to this money pit. To fix this problem, we have ordered a new washing machine but it is not an F&K product.Never again will we waste good money on any product by F&P. Not only will we no longer support the products of this company, we will seek out every opportunity to express our dissatisfaction and terrible experience to anyone that will listen. This is the worst buying and service after the sale experience that we have ever encountered. I can only hope that F&Ps competition will eventually drive them out of business.

On 3/24, we purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator from Lowes. We had the refrigerator delivered on 4/6. The refrigerator worked for only two weeks when the power went out completely. We called F&P on 4/20 (the day it went out) and we were referred to a local authorized service provider. We called the the company they recommended and were not able to schedule service until 4/24. The technician came out and found that the circuit board was bad. How can a refrigerator that is only two weeks old have a bad circuit board? The technician ordered a new circuit board on 4/25. It took a week for the part to arrive and he came to install the new circuit board on 5/4.Within a few hours of the technician leaving, we noticed an F11 error, which has something to do with a fan. We noticed, at that time, that the refrigerator was not cooling, although the freezer seemed to be working. We called the technician back and were not able to schedule another visit until 5/9. By the time the technician comes on 5/9, we will be 19 days with no refrigerator. It is simply not acceptable for a new appliance to work for only two weeks. We paid $2,000 for this refrigerator and it has been broken for longer than it actually worked. I called customer service on 5/4 and explained everything that has occurred. I was offered a 3-month extension of the warranty. How does that fix the problem? Why would I want to extend a warranty on something that doesnt even work? I was put on hold to speak with a supervisor and coincidentally none were available. At that point, the representative told me that she looked over my file again and could offer to extend my warranty an extra six months. This is simply not a solution. How does extending the warranty make up for not having a working refrigerator for longer than having a working one, throwing away all of the food we had in the refrigerator, and having to eat every meal out for three weeks? I told the representative that this was not acceptable and I still wanted to speak with a supervisor. So, now my file has been expedited, and she said I should get a call from a supervisor on Monday (5/7). I hope I do. This refrigerator is clearly a lemon and should be considered DOA (dead on arrival). We should be sent a new refrigerator and receive a credit for our loss of use for three weeks.

My mother had a F&P dishwasher and she loved it very much. Then I had a F&P refrigerator. So when I moved in to my new house that I bought, I decided to go with the Fisher & Paykel again because I really loved that refrigerator. I got the newer model basically the same as the one I had in my apartment.First of all, it’s stainless steel. It’s hard if you have a small kitchen but this one fits perfectly. I love the bottom freezer drawer, and the front of it is so sleek and shiny, very simple. There’s only one thing - it didn’t have the egg carton thing like the little egg rack. And I didn’t want an ice maker so I’m so glad it came without the ice maker. This was the only one that fits the bill. It’s really hard to find nice, counter-depth refrigerator that aren’t humongously wide so it’s absolutely perfect! I love looking at it. I am in love with my refrigerator.

Fisher & Paykel quicksmart washing machine front loader. Since getting this machine around 2 years ago, it hardly ever goes through a full cycle without an error blip, usually 37, or suds or just err flashing and blipping, it drives me crazy. I started using a natural very low suds home made powder and it stopped the blipping for a while, but now its back, and the drainage hose near the filter has never worked. I will never buy a Fisher & Paykel anything ever again.

My first F&P dryer worked fine for a year and then continually tripped thermal switches. One actually has to remove a panel to reset this as it is not accessible from the outside of the dryer. F&P finally replaced this (well, I got a new dryer for the privilege of paying them $250 for the prorated use of the old dryer). I also spent another $250 re-venting the dryer because they were concerned that the venting that worked fine for my 25 year old Maytag was insufficient for their unit. Dryer #2 developed a bearing squeak--quiet at first but now is extremely loud. The tech from the company that sold me the dryer claims the bolt is frozen and the bearing cannot be replaced or at least cannot be replaced for a service call cheaper than half the price of actually replacing the dryer. Meanwhile, THAT store has ceased selling the product and no longer will work on F&P machines. The tech recommended by F&P after this told me the same thing and recommended that I save my money and buy Samsung.

This was my first purchase. I had a piece of crap of a refrigerator from the 70s before. I chose F&P as it was the only model that fit in the space that I had. I designed the kitchen around the dimensions of this fridge. I got the stainless steel F&P ref and I like the look and the size. The experience with them is good. However, my freezer drawer came off the tracks one time and I had them come out. And it actually came off again. And now, I’m just leaving it. Overall, it’s good but the freezer drawer has a design flaw.

Fisher & Paykel appliances came with the home that I moved in in April. The fridge, the dishwasher and the stove. The fridge is good, the size of the dishwasher is good and I like the style of the dishwasher... theyre very quiet too! The only thing is the top of the stove... it gets dirty and I dont know how to clean it. I use cleaner for stainless steel, for the stove top cleaner, and nothing seems to be able to get off the residue.

In my all entire life I had been changed my range only 2 times. I have been in USA for almost 30 years, I had to change my range which was build in the kitchen since 1960s. I renovated my apartment 2008 and had to buy new range, which I chose Fisher & Paykel. Since the first year I had problem with the burners. I had spend more money more than the value of the unit. I highly recommend even do not go close to it, and to look at it even. The worse range that I had in my life.I called a couple of technician to let them know, all had been advise me it is not worth, change it.

Just a follow-up to my July 17, 2011 post. I contacted the USA representative and I was very pleased. She arranged a repair at no cost. This was not easy as the company listed was no longer servicing my area, but she was successful. She sent two parts (computer and pump) and the technician just replaced these and all seems on for now. Best part of the story - no cost although the machine is 3.5 years old. Must tip my hat at the FP and the customer service. Thanks to CA for being there, as I feel this blog/posting was influential in getting my problem resolved. Also, the USA representative was accessible, polite, and true to her word.

The washer is quiet and convenient. We are able to run two loads at the same time, but with different cycles. The drawers are great also because we can do smaller loads of dishes and while one drawer is running we can fill the other. Another great feature is the stainless steal finish - it doesnt mark. You can literally rub your hands all over it and it wont mark. Friends of ours have a Bosch - nice washer but it always looks dirty because of fingerprints all over it. (They have kids.) My parents also have a Bosch and they have to clean it once per week or so. Our unit is DD24DDFX7. Highly recommended!

We purchased a top load washer/dryer set in July 2009. By November 2010, the heating element in the dryer broker and the lint trap was clogged, meaning the dryer was not producing any heat to dry clothes. We had it serviced at that time, replacing the heating element and removing the lint trap to clean it, and now in January 2012, the link trap is clogged again. Also, almost immediately after purchase, the washing machine started leaking whenever a load was more than half full. Additionally, the washer began to (and still) stop wash cycles regularly because the load is not balanced. Sometimes, a wash cycle will stop up to 10 times before it finally runs through, taking almost a full day to wash one load of sheets/blankets. Also, in January 2012, we noticed that the top part of the plastic basket in the washer has begun to shred and tear. We are now weighing the choice of having a repair man out to fix it or not sink any more money into a machine were so unhappy with.We have been extremely disappointed with this set. We purchased this make and model when we built our new home because we wanted a modern, efficient washer/dryer. What we got was almost three years of headaches, service calls, and wasted water and electric.

My wife and I bought a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator (Active Smart RF170ADUSX4) in March from Lowes. We have had ice maker problems since we got the refrigerator. We had the ice maker replaced, then we had sensors replaced. To get parts for a F & P refrigerator it takes FOREVER! This is the worst appliance purchase that I have ever made, and dealing with Lowes lemon laws, etc. has been a nightmare. With everything replaced, the ice maker will make approximately 2 trays of ice every 24 hours. This is not enough for anybody. Additionally we have had problems with the temps in the fridge. I would never, ever, ever recommend anybody a) buy an appliance from Lowes and b) buy a Fisher & Paykel appliance. Total JUNK for $2069!!

First, it was my Fisher & Paykel oven, which by the way, the company came out three times to try to fix. After they said they fixed it, by replacing the main circuit board, It takes well over 90 minutes to preheat to 350 degrees F. What a waste of energy and time!! Plus, sadly, I dont enjoy baking or roasting meals for my family anymore. Now, my refrigerator beeps every time I open the door, upper and lower (it is a french door frig/freezer on bottom). An F20 code is on the door panel. I read about this in the internet and customers are saying it is a $1,000+ fix!Fisher & Paykel are expensive products. Mine are only six years old. I remodeled my kitchen around these products. My only choice is to deal with the company to get them fixed. But I want EVERYBODY to know how unreliable they are!! PS I went to an open house at an expensive condominium/apartment project in Orange County, California. Noticed all the units have Fisher & Paykel kitchen appliances. Oh boy. Customer service is NON Existent. I have a F&P two drawer dishwasher. Generally speaking it is a good appliance, but if you need any parts, forget it. The agitator tends to wear out. It only costs about $100 to get a new one and it is dead easy to replace, BUT in my case F&P shipped the WRONG part under the right part number sticker, so the part didnt quite fit, or work. I engaged a professional, who took the very same part number out of her truck and put it in...and everything worked. Cost me an extra $300... but heres the thing. F&P said tough, we dont accept returns even if we made the mistake!... four times. And after talking to some appliance service people, this is apparently pretty common that what is in the box doesnt match the number printed on the box. So beware.

This is a follow-up to my first post (Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart washer). The firemen were wrong about the motor. I called a local repair person/authorized repair person and they were here today. It was the famous pump that everyone else has been talking about. They said grit gets into the pump and causes the seal to leak, and then water drips onto the pump/electronics and causes it to burn out. There is a fuse that blows in the control board. They replaced the fuse and put another fuse in line with the pump. The repair was quick. I was told the pump would be about $90.00 plus service call. It’s much better than we originally thought. In my opinion, there is a problem with these pumps, though.

I have just bought a Fisher and Paykel fridge (E373L WW). I chose this brand only because nobody else makes a fridge of this size without a freezer. Well, nobody whose products are imported into New Zealand, anyway. I dont need a freezer. I lost confidence in Fisher Paykel many years ago. It is so hard to believe this company was once so highly revered by every New Zealand housewife. They made washing machines and fridges that never break down; well, not until well into old age. I still have in use a chest freezer made by them in the 1970s. They must have made enough profit in those days making products that lasted. Why cant they still do so? My fridge is only 6 weeks old and appears to be working fine. The two stars is not for the fridge but the company.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

It has never worked right. We have had so many service calls that I cant count them. I will replace it eventually with another KitchenAid. Perhaps you should take this one and analyze it like they do in med school with corpses - and perhaps you can figure out where you went wrong. By the way, not only is the electrical stuff faulty, but it simply does not clean the dishes. If I wash them first, it might sort of rinse them. This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product
This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product (washer and dryer) from Lowes 4 years ago. I spent roughly $1600-$1700. The product ran pretty well, and I enjoyed them for most part until our dryer stopped heating. I assumed it was the heating element, so I called around to see if I could have some service it. No one other than A&E Appliance Company services it. Every appliance service company said they used to service it, but could not get info and parts for them so they stopped. A&E sent someone out here for the service. He had no idea how to work on it. He spent 2 hours trying to open the dryer and had to have someone on the phone the whole time to tell him what to do. He finally determined it was the heating element at 8:00 at night. He said he would order the part and schedule a follow up appointment. I waited a week; no call from them. I called them up and asked what the deal was. They had no record of my previous appointment and said no one had ordered the part or made another appointment. I asked if they could give me the servicemans number. They said they did not have their numbers. I asked if they could get in touch with them and they said they would page them to call me. Three days later, no call. I called back and they said they would page them again. Three days later, no call. I said the heck with it and searched for the part myself. I found it, installed it but now there seems to be an electrical problem. I used my meter reader to find where the power failure was at. I thought I found the part that was needed. I went and bought another part, installed it and still it doesnt work. At that point we were a month in and I was $300 down. I was at the point where I was going to buy another dryer and sink the Fisher and Paykel dryer in the closest pond. I called 1 888 936 7872 and explained to them the situation and asked if Fisher and Paykel could make any suggestions before I sunk this piece of junk. They asked for me to call A&E again. I explained that I could not get anyone to come out here and that if I did, I would have to pay at least another $300-$400 for diagnostics, parts and labor. I only paid about $800 for it so that was out of the question. The representative then told me that she would open a file for me and F&P would make sure A&E came out and fixed it at no charge to us. For this I said, that would be great service and show the consumer that F&P was committed to service. We opened a file #** and they said they would call A&E to ensure someone came out to service me ASAP (at no charge). A&E calls me 2 days later and says we will be out there this morning to take a look at it, but I would be charged. I explained that F&P was to handle the charges. They said no. The service request mentioned nothing of that. They asked me to call F&P and sort it out so now I have to be acting as liaison between A&E and F&P. I called F&P again and I had to explain the whole situation again. This time the rep tells me they can probably waive the diagnostic fee but thats it. I said no, forget it, Ill go buy a dependable brand. She said she would contact Michael, who was the person that had authorized the request before, and she said she would call me later that day to let me know what she found out. Two days later, no call. I called A&E and asked if F&P has contacted them; nope! I call F&P again and asked for the status of my request. They say, Oh, no one submitted that request. At this point, I have had enough of playing liaison and being a sucker. I just went to Sears, bought a Maytag and have an $800 F&P dryer sitting in my laundry room that I am about to sink into a pond. I have NEVER in my life experienced such incompetence from two companies. I promise you I will never buy any F&P product ever again, and I have already begun spreading the word to my friends and whoever will listen. If you would like to get in contact with me, you can visit my new Facebook page. Dont ever buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance. I and many others are sick and tired of the lack of service this company provides. Your company’s service, along with A&E’s, is horrible!

If you are buying based on reputation dont bother with Fisher & Paykel! On Jan 18 (2016) I bought a dryer (DE6060G1) and within a week the heat valve had broken. Thankfully 2nds World replaced the machine the next day. 6 weeks later and again, low and behold the same problem occurred. Unfortunately I had to use Fisher & Paykel customer service and what a nightmare! It would have been easier to buy a different brand than put up with the crap they delved out.According F & P as I use the dryer everyday its my fault (and no wonder!) the machine broke down! (that was repeated today when I spoke to the company again). Speaking to the lovely technician this problem is happening again and again with this model. But the company will not replace it with more reliable product (the proceeding one DE45F56) but will continue to send out what appears to be a technically faulty machine. Whats worse is that its going to take two weeks to get the machine repaired. WHY? My advice go for older model or even better go for a different brand all together, its so disappointing!

Fisher Paykel Intuitive Dryer - We purchased a new Fisher Paykel washer and dryer three years ago which was installed in our new home on an interior wall with a straight shot through the roof exhaust pipe. After only four months of using the new dryer, the exhaust pipe became stopped-up with a considerable amount of lint. The exhaust cap on the roof had to be removed to allow access for removal of the lint from the exhaust pipe. This process had to be repeated about every 4 to 5 months since. Since the dryer lint basket very seldom collected lint and had to be emptied, four weeks ago we had the service technician out who determined the lint screen had been torn in numerous areas. Since the lint screen is within an enclosed area, he advised there must be some defect in the dryer lint basket which was cutting the screen. Over a period of time if left unchecked, this could have become a fire hazard. Is there something that can be done to prevent this from happening again? If so, please advise.

Fisher & Paykel is very good to work with. Their customer service is excellent. When my first FP dishwasher almost caught on fire, they went ahead and warrantied it and gave me a new one. I was gone for 3 days and came home and my whole house was smoky and my dishwasher had been left on. It came on by itself. I had the water turned off because we were up north at our cottage, and I came home and it was grinding. You could hear it outside in our garage. I read up on it on Google, and sure enough, some of them, they said they’d just come on by themselves because there’s a computer chip or something inside them. But other than that, this one’s working great. I like it. I have to say though, it doesn’t clean as well as my old Maytag. I love the double door concept. But this one here, I sometimes have to pull things off dishes after I rinse them, and I rinse everything before I put it in. A lot of my family members have a Fisher &Paykel dishwasher - my parents, my aunt, my mom - so I bought one for myself. So far, I don’t have any issues with it.

I purchased the EcoSmart washing machine from Sears 2.5 years ago. The water pump/drain malfunctioned causing the electronics to short out. After consulting with a repairman, I was informed that the pump will be $200 plus $160 for the electronic portion, add another $50 for taxes and shipping and at least $100 for labor. Of course, the warranty is no longer applicable and apparently this problem is very consistent with other users. After reading the other reviews, I realize how bad this situation is quickly becoming.

We wanted to switch from a conventional dishwasher to a drawer type. We’re both getting older and decided we didn’t want to bend down to the floor anymore and so we decided we would go with this, and Fisher & Paykel essentially had a good reputation. We thought we’d try them and we’re pleased. We’ve had it since we moved into a new condominium at the end of June and it’s the Tall DishDrawer. It works very well. I am getting the cleanest, clearest glasses I’ve ever seen come out of a dishwasher. I like the way the inside of the dishwasher is set up because I like the fold down, fold up racks for the glassware which comes in very handy for various sizes. There are a number of clips for putting in very sharp long knives. As a cook, you use very long chef knives. In a regular dishwasher, you can’t really put them in. So I thought that was an excellent feature. Also the cutlery container is very nicely designed so that you can put all of your sharp steak knives point down. It is an exceptionally clean looking and clean staying dishwasher. The entire inside of the dishwasher is stainless steel. It’s really a dream to use. I recommend it to everybody.

Bought the dryer because it was supposed to be highly rated. Bearings have gone out once (and replaced) and they are going out again. Takes forever to dry anything. Only one service provider on the area and it took them two tries to fix the bearings the first time. When I pointed out the lint wasnt collecting in the trap, he had no idea where it might be. I looked up the lint trap on YouTube to figure that out. Still doesnt collect lint (I have to disassemble the dryer to extract it). Maybe they make a good product but this has been a total piece of junk and I would not recommend.

We purchased a Fisher Paykel washer and dryer from a local Lowes just about 3 years ago. When the new appliances were delivered, within the first week the dryer had to be replaced because the frame was bent out of shape and was not repairable. Our dryer stopped drying clothes in the last couple of months. We called the repairman who came and diagnosed the situation as the board had gone out and would need to be replaced as well as the reset switch. He told us our laundry room was a bit too small and that had caused the dryer to overheat. So why hadnt it done this in the last 3 years? The repair bill was over 300.00 dollars and the repairman suggested that we might need to leave the front cover off the dryer so it wouldnt overheat. He replaced the cover.Within the first month after the repair, it did it again so we took off the front cover and hit the reset switch and it worked again. The dryer blew the circuit breaker 2 weeks ago. 4 days ago, the dryer overheated and smelled hot throughout our upstairs. We unplugged the dryer and let it cool down. We have put well over $1000 in this dryer and it is not good. We will not purchase another Fisher Paykel appliance again and would not recommend this company to anyone.

Weve had our washer and dryer for 4 1/2 years and had to call the repairman twice. I have to constantly reset our overheat button at least 1-2 times every week! This is unacceptable. Its loud and does a horrible job collecting lint. I have to vacuum it out weekly as it doesnt really collect like it should. We have to buy a new machine because the cost to call a repairman out plus a possible part is not worth investing in this piece of junk.

So I've read a lot of negative reviews about FP. I have been using it since a 6000 sqft project build I did almost 10 years ago using a dual drawer dishwasher. THIS IS THE ONLY DISHWASHER I'LL EVER BUY. A 2 drawer dishwasher is very civilized... 2 completely independent running drawers that clean very well. Next renovation in a $2M condo I put in same dishwasher and a FP Washer and Ventless Dryer. I could not be happier. Never any service problems, cosmetically beautiful, and nice ergonomics. Don't overload it.
