I bought this washer (Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine) as a highly recommended low maintenance machine. At the least, I am dissatisfied; at the most, angry. I am retired and live on a fixed income. I did research myself as to possible causes of the constant drip of 6 inches of hot water into the tub and the low level screeching of the tub as it spins. As for repair, I was only able to find one resource for a possible part that caused the dripping. When I called, I was treated rudely and they refused to help me and stated Id have to pay a large fee just to have it diagnosed. So, I asked what the charge would be if it was found to need a hot water valve leaking and if the screeching was a bad bearing. I was told the bearings never go bad and that I didnt know anything. Then, the woman from the shop hung up! I love being treated badly! Your customer service is nasty and non-existent!

Weve had our washer and dryer for 4 1/2 years and had to call the repairman twice. I have to constantly reset our overheat button at least 1-2 times every week! This is unacceptable. Its loud and does a horrible job collecting lint. I have to vacuum it out weekly as it doesnt really collect like it should. We have to buy a new machine because the cost to call a repairman out plus a possible part is not worth investing in this piece of junk.

We purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator because we liked what the salesman had to say about them as a brand. And I liked that they had water in the door but not ice which opened up the refrigerator for more stuff kind of things. I didnt want something with ice on the door but I liked the idea of an ice maker in the freezer and water in the door. Ive never seen one that does that. I did have an issue with the refrigerator but they were very responsive and helped to get it taken care of. Ill know better as time goes on how long itll last and stuff but so far I would recommend them.

I surprised my wife with a brand-new Fisher Paykel double-drawer dishwasher because I got tired of cleaning and servicing her old one. They are not inexpensive. Within one month, the start button receded into the chassis. The service person found that the lighted collar around the start button was made of cheap plastic and had simply broken making the machine inoperable. I would think for the amount of money that durn machine cost, they could afford to at least make the plastic parts durable enough to last more than a month.

We have only had the washer and dryer set since July 2011. The Fisher & Paykel dryer is not producing heat to dry clothes. It will only air dry and that takes hours for just 1 load... so much for energy efficient. My warranty expired last month.

I love the new Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. I love it because there are a lot of things I dont wash. Its nice to have the two different drawers. I could put a smaller load in the bottom or a bigger load in the top where in the past, Ive either had to run the dishwasher with a really small load or I would have to wait until I filled up my dishwasher to wash everything. However, you cant get in some of the bigger things because of the way the inside is laid out. Its hard to get the dish soap in. You cant use the big box and have to put the soap in a smaller jar to pour it in but overall, I would not have gotten a different dishwasher.

Fisher and Paykel dryer DEIX2 - I purchased this dryer at Lowes approximately 4 years ago. During the four years, weve had the lint scraper replaced two times. It has broken again. When the lint scraper breaks, all of the lint from your clothes ends up getting caught inside the mechanism of the dryer or pushed out the dryer vent. We typically know we have a problem when the clothes stop drying in a timely manner; little lint is in our lint trap and the dryer vent has visible lint blocking it from the exterior of the house. It is somewhat surprising this dryer has not caused a fire. Ive had enough of worrying about lint getting trapped in our dryer vent and/or our lint trap breaking. The lint trap works perfectly for a short time frame, but the design and materials are not nearly robust enough for the premium you pay for this product. There is absolutely no question, this is the absolute worst appliance or piece of equipment Ive every purchased. I would give the dryer 0 stars if that was an option.

When we built our home, we thought wed purchase your product. What a mistake. When our dishwasher drawers stopped working, we contacted the local authorized rep who explained that if we didnt use the dishwasher every day, it will not work. What? He said that your dishwashers must be used every day or they break down, all by themselves. So, I will be taking your crummy dishwasher to the dump, where it belongs!

We purchased Fisher and Paykel appliances when we built our home in 2006. The WOS-130 wall oven never heated correctly, could not be repaired, so it was replaced by FP. In 2010, I cleaned the oven, and the oven door would not open and the control panel ceased to operate. We contacted FP. A service rep ordered the new part, and we were responsible for the repair. About 3 weeks ago, I cleaned the oven, and the same thing happened. The first time the repair person came out in 2010, he showed my husband how to unlock the oven. We now have a dilemma because there is no longer a repair company in our area that will come out to repair the unit. I contacted the sales rep from FP by phone and email, and he has failed to return my messages. His name is Jim **. I guess there is no sense in buying an FP self-cleaning oven if every time you need to clean the unit it ceases to operate. I am in quite a dilemma because I cannot get service to my home, and surely cannot afford a new wall oven. I would never buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance again if you cannot get a customer service rep. to respond or service in your area. I am very disappointed with this product.

I saw a Fisher & Paykel commercial about the type of dish washer that I wanted and from what I understand, theyre pretty much the only ones the make those now, the drawer ones. So when my refrigerator quit working, I decided to buy one although it was much more expensive but it had the drawer option that I wanted. The company has been very good so far. As far as I know, I dealt with just the company that I bought it from in the store, but as far as my happiness with the dishwasher, Im not really pleased. To begin with, we had the one that I ordered and laid for to be in stock and it was put in and for some reason it leaked immediately. Right after the delivery guy left, it started leaking, at least twice. Its been three times its flooded my kitchen floor, my hardwood floor. They called me that they were going to contact the company of Fisher & Paykel and find out if they were going to do anything about my floor, but I havent heard anything. Then they bought me a stainless steel one and put it in to replace the one that I ordered, which was a couple hundred dollars more and they didnt make me pay the extra money, which was nice. I have my dishwasher and I was happy. But since then, its only been less than a year and probably six months or so but the pieces inside where you stack the dishes are already breaking. I have to find another piece that I could put there so that I could get my dishes in there. Plus the fact that the chimes are so close together that you cant get anything in there except for a flat dish, unless you just take all of the things out and just have an open drawer. Our complaint is that nothing fits in them right and it doesnt clean as well as I thought they would. I thought they would be very good for what we spent on them. I put less and less in them just thinking itll get cleaner and cleaner because theyre in such a compact area. But they dont really seem to. And I follow all the rules on what they say to do and stuff but even so stuff is not as clean as I thought it would get. So I dont know what it is that keeps it from being clean, but I keep trying.

When I first saw my new fridge, I was like, Ooh, how pretty! I liked the look of it, sleek and nicely designed. The last refrigerator I owned was just ok, but my first ever that I had bought. I noticed that the Paykel was European and that was impressive to me. The price was a good one and it seemed very well received online as well. I spent over $1200. trying to repair a Fisher Paykel refrigerator and they finally said there was a short in the foam box and it cannot be repaired. The company said they will offer a $932.67 credit towards the purchase of a new FP refrigerator. I told the female representative that the local dealer I use had one in stock and I could get it immediately. She said that would be ok and they can reach out and get reimbursed. Once the refrigerator was bought, Fisher Paykel now says they cannot offer the credit as it was bought by a dealer! This company has lied and treated me so poorly after all I have been through that I would seriously consider using another company when buying appliances.

We had to replace a fridge that was 11 years old and defective so we got a Fisher & Paykel. We certainly appreciate the ice-making system and the fact that it doesnt take up too much room from the refrigerator section, thats for the cold water. Compared to other makes, the other one seems to take up a lot of room, this one is just a small space in the door. And for the ice, its very reasonable. Thats the main thing. This is the first time that I have the French doors. You cannot pull the drawers, neither the fruit nor the meat drawers without opening both doors. So this is one thing that may not be the most efficient and this to me would be not totally negative.

Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart washer - We purchased our F&P washer and dryer at Lowes in Denton, TX in April 2005. While the washer was still under warranty, we started having problems. The water wouldnt stop dripping into the tub so we had to call someone out to fix this issue. Now the washer has quit all together. I called someone out ($68.00) only to find out that the main board is out. I realized that the washer is 7 years old, but I thought it would last longer than it did. We did research in Consumer Report before we bought this washer.

The washer still does not work; the spin cycle will not work. He will come out here again to see if the problem is with the board. We are on our second refrigerator from Fisher & Paykel. FP replaced the first one after one year of constant problems, frustrations and technicians repairing it. We had the new one for one week and a part just fell off the interior of the door so it would no longer self close on one side. After 2 years, we got an error code for fan failures which, according to the manual, was highly unlikely to ever happen. Repair man came out and replaced the fans. One month later, I noticed the upper fridge area was not very cold, so I adjusted the setting towards colder. A few days later, my husband opened the freezer and ice had accumulated everywhere. We inspected the door seal and all around the drawers and nothing was blocking or preventing the door from shutting. Repair man came back out, inspected the seals as well and determined it was from a leak somewhere in the back of the unit. FP said we were most likely at fault for leaving the door open. Not true! They said we should unplug the unit, remove all food and let defrost for 24 hours. Repair man said that would be such a huge mess and inconvenience for something that will just recur again. I called FP back and got the usual run around with their terrible customer service people. I have wasted so much of my time dealing with Fisher and Paykel. I just want my money refunded so I can buy a product from a reliable company.

I used to have a Fisher & Paykel and the reason I was purchasing something is I just remodeled a kitchen in a newer and different house than the one where I had the other one. I got the two-door dishwasher with the tall drawer. Its ugly. I didnt realize it wasnt the same in the front and they ruined the front completely. If I could have sent it back without paying a 25% up charge for returning it, I would have returned it. Im very disappointed. I have the recessed handle, it used to be all stainless steel, now theyve got some junky plastic in the front and thats terrible. I wanted the tall drawer but I assumed it was the same... it looks chintzy. Compared to the rest of my appliances, Im sorry I bought it. I bought it because its great for doing wine glasses although I find that the spot where the wine glasses go is just a slight bit narrower than what I used to have because Im having a little bit more trouble trying to get them into the slot. The dishwasher works just fine. Aesthetically, they ruined it. And I loved my other one. I just think that they didnt do a good job of remodeling it. It doesnt help the people that paid top dollar, I could have had a Bosch which is an equally competent dishwasher or any others and I chose this one because of the fact that I could do a smaller load so theres some wonderful things about it but the look upsets me.

When we moved into our new home in May of 2008, we had to leave behind our dryer. As wed had good luck with a Fisher & Paykel washer, we just assumed that a DE09 dryer would be a natural conclusion. What a mistake! It has been a lemon since the day we put it in the basement. It constantly turns off during a dry cycle and takes forever (when it decides to actually run) to dry a load of clothes. Were not talking a large load either. We are vigilant about keeping the vents cleaned out, even going so far as taking the tube from the wall and cleaning it out from both the outside vent and the inside vent. Nothing does any good. It still shuts off randomly at will. I can guarantee that my next dryer purchase, as soon as it can happen, wont be a Fisher & Paykel. Id have better luck just tossing the clothes on the driveway and hoping the sun does the job.

The serviceman does not even want to work on a DCS. They have adjusted the griddle numerous times and replaced the thermostat twice. It still does not get hot enough! Fisher & Paykel will not let you talk to their technician to explain how the griddle is working. Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is
Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is not with getting the appliances serviced. I am fortunate to have a local repair service company that is responsive, trained on these appliances, and does quality work. From the posts I have read, this does not appear to occur often. My issue is with the reliability and quality of the Fisher Paykel products themselves. The washer is model GWL11W and the repair occurred about 12 months ago. As many others have posted, the water pump went out, dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn caused the computer panel to fail. I was told that this was because of a design flaw and the repair kit incorporated a design change that would prevent the computer panel from shorting out if the water pump should ever go out again. The parts and labor for the repair cost over $400, but given the cost of replacing a high efficiency washer, I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. Granted, the washer was 5 years old at the time, but really, a washer should last longer than 5 years. Now the dryer, model DE08US, needs to be repaired. The timer will not advance in the automatic settings. The sensor bars and sensor board needed to be replaced. This repair, with parts and labor, will come to $387. I have already spent $188 on the prior service call to have the problem diagnosed and have the dryer disassembled, cleaned, and two glides replaced. Given the cost of new dryers, I cannot justify spending what would come to $575 to repair this dryer. The dryer is 6 years old but again a dryer should not cost $575 in parts and labor to maintain within the first 6 years of ownership. At the moment, the dryer is still drying and the timer is still advancing in the timed setting, so I will use it until it stops. Of course, the dryer has now started making an annoying squealing sound, so it will likely stop sooner than later. I should mention that washer and dryer get light usage, 2-4 loads a week, and the loads of laundry are not large or bulky. Even the repair technician commented that both the washer and dryer are well maintained. Yet my Fisher Paykel washer has already cost me hundreds of dollars in parts and repair. If I was willing to invest in repairing the dryer, the same could be said about that appliance. However, that is not going to happen. It was a mistake to spend my hard-earned money on Fisher Paykel appliances and I do not intend to throw good money after bad. When it is time to purchase a new dryer or washer (or any other appliance for that matter), the brand will not be Fisher Paykel. The quality and reliability are disappointing and I wont get fooled again.

I purchased three F&P appliances in 2005 (double drawer dishwasher, a washer and dryer). All three of them have been a total waste of money, for each one has had problems which make them irreparable and problematic. When I purchased the F&K washer and dryer my main concern was the fact that both units were controlled by the electronic board. The salesman replied that this should be one of the significant advantages due to the fact that if something went wrong with the washer or dryer they simply send out a replacement electronic board for about $75. All I would have to do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one. How far from the truth that was. They never mentioned that the only repair service company was one person in the entire Houston, Texas market that ended up knowing less about the product than me. And besides, they charge you $75-$85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. After doing so with the washer, they said that it was the electronic board and they would have to order. When the board came in they replaced it. It still did not work and they said the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost that far exceeded purchasing a new washer. Needless to say, I was smart enough to send the new F&K packing to my backyard graveyard only to replace it with the very old Maytag washer which I had taken out just due to its poor visual appeal. Boy have I learned. I would much rather have a dingy, slightly dented beige workhorse of a washer as in my Maytag, which is older than me, than this new updated F&P laughing stock of an appliance. Let me say if I was the F&P Marketing Director and I saw comments as numerous and detailed as the ones I saw on this site, I would set out to make things right with these customers. Secondly, my F&P dryer just all of a sudden stopped heating. So I decided to look at this website prior to calling the no-use of a repair service that F&P has accredited with the worthiness to repair its appliances. Well, I only wish that I had found this website prior to my purchasing these F&P products. What worthless pieces of useless technology. I think the woman early put the entire frustration into place when she said her mother used an old tub and ringer system and at least at the end of the day she was relaxed. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I think I am going back to washing in a tub and ringer and then putting them out to dry on the line if this is the best consumers can expect. Now I know why my mom only purchases Kenmore. She said they were totally reliable and that Sears always stands behind their product. Since having to do my laundry there now for the last year due to my unsuccessful purchase, I think I have to finally give in to my mom that said, I told you so!The last appliance (and thank God someone talked me out of the refrigerator or I would be writing in about 4 instead of 3 appliances) is the double drawer dishwasher. Now, how a service repairman can tell me that the reason the top drawer tends to stop after 20 minutes of washing and start beeping like it is off balance is due to operator error I do not understand. On top of which he said it can be attributed to the dishwashing detergent selected. Now, I am a Cascade man and that is the only detergent I have ever used since learning early on during my college years that nothing works better. And thank God because when the dishwasher finally makes it through the washing cycle at least I know they will be sparkly! Not necessarily clean because this dishwasher has to be the worst at cleaning dishes. I installed a cheap GE Dishwasher in my butler’s pantry, which I now find myself hauling dishes from the Kitchen to the butler’s pantry to avoid using the F&P because the cheap GE washes faster, better and quicker than the F&P ever did or would ever be able to do in the future. It seems that after starting the dishwasher, which was installed in a newly renovated 100-year old historic house that is on pier and beam, it seems to stop and start beeping each time you walk into the kitchen during its cycle. It starts immediately and begins washing again after opening and shutting the drawer and hitting. I mean, I waste more time opening and closing the drawer to ensure that my dishes are clean than I would if I simply washed them by hand. So from my experiences, that is enough. Being taught from a young age that three strikes equal an out, F&K that was the last pitch and you are out!

Fisher & Paykel appliances came with the home that I moved in in April. The fridge, the dishwasher and the stove. The fridge is good, the size of the dishwasher is good and I like the style of the dishwasher... theyre very quiet too! The only thing is the top of the stove... it gets dirty and I dont know how to clean it. I use cleaner for stainless steel, for the stove top cleaner, and nothing seems to be able to get off the residue.

We bought a Fisher Paykel washer/dryer set in 2009 for our new house. The dryer model number is DE27CW1. We had a six year warranty and used one call for the washer. In 2019 the dryer would fail to dry clothes. We cleaned the vent pathway and lint buildup in the front of the unit, pressed reset and we were good to go until a load of towels didn’t dry and nothing after that. Removed the front panel, pressed reset again and my husband noted that the heating element was red hot even though the unit wasn’t drying. After receiving an incorrect part from Sears Direct we decided to be grateful we didn’t have a fire and purchased a Miele set. We have pictures of the red hot heating element. There is information on the web about a lawsuit by a family in Washington State who had a fire with their Fisher Paykel dryer. Why wasn’t the Fisher Paykel dryer recalled?

I got the panel ready two drawer dishwasher and built in fridge freezer columns. It has been difficult to get the panels adjusted to fit with the kitchen cabinets. Paid $1200 to have the appliances professionally installed and it still doesnt look right. The appliance installers blame it on the cabinets and cabinet installers blame it on the appliances. The panels on the appliances just dont have enough adjustability to make it line up with the rest of the cabinets. I am very disappointed with the look of the kitchen. Its supposed to be a higher end, custom kitchen and it looks worse than if we just got regular appliances. I regret getting the built-in appliances.

The last ones I had were the Whirlpool front loaders. I didn’t like them. I’ll never buy a front loader again. We bought from a little appliance store here in Benton. At first, we bought a Speed Queen and it pumped up the water so fast that my pipes wouldn’t take it and it flooded my laundry room every time I would wash. So I called them back and they said they had one that the pump didn’t pump that hard. And we went and traded. They were brand new. I had it about four days and got these which I love. They work great! The experience with Fisher & Paykel went real well. I love it and have already recommended it. My daughter wants one. She likes the fact that the tub is all sealed up in there. Her husband is in construction and he forgets to get nails and things out of his pockets and it just messes all up down underneath hers. But this one is all sealed so nothing can get down underneath there.

The washer is quiet and convenient. We are able to run two loads at the same time, but with different cycles. The drawers are great also because we can do smaller loads of dishes and while one drawer is running we can fill the other. Another great feature is the stainless steal finish - it doesnt mark. You can literally rub your hands all over it and it wont mark. Friends of ours have a Bosch - nice washer but it always looks dirty because of fingerprints all over it. (They have kids.) My parents also have a Bosch and they have to clean it once per week or so. Our unit is DD24DDFX7. Highly recommended!

Fisher Paykel 30single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven. This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.

Our experience was extraordinarily good. I was impressed. The equipment is nice, the design is nice. I’m an engineer so I say this. But the brand name on the outside is DCS. We bought the six-burner gas oven, too. And we just bought a new oven for our rental property. There’s only a couple of companies in the world that I’d recommend for appliances at all, and Fisher & Paykel is one of them. The service and the people that sold them to us in all cases, we bought several, were first class. The people were knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and the stuff arrived on time. The pricing was very competitive and the quality of the devices is, from a mechanical perspective and electronic perspective, excellent. And in terms of its user friendliness to my wife who uses them most of the time, the biggest problem with the dishwasher is you can’t hear it. The wonderful thing about the six-burner stove is it has a simmer control and most stoves don’t have that. I was a professional chef and so I know the Viking and Garland brands pretty well. And the DCS stove comes as close to a Garland as you’re going to get at a very good price. And that’s very important to know because people don’t understand. Most people aren’t chefs. So the stuff has been super. I’ve been very pleased. Keep up the good work because remember, the two most important things in the world are that they should work but the customer service has to be first class and it always has been. My wife’s very best friend is building a new house and we recommended all of Fisher & Paykel stuff to her yesterday.

If you are looking for the ability to do different types of loads (light and dirty, or fine dishes and heavy pots) at the same time or if you usually do smaller loads more often and only large loads occasionally, this is the dishwasher for you. The interior of the dishwasher and the racks are amazingly designed. We can fit way more dishes bowls and cups that we thought would be possible in each drawer. The adjustable side shelves allowing for larger items below and then shorter items like coffee cups are so smartly designed. Further, this dishwasher cleans things perfectly. No spots, no missed areas and no running the load a second time to try to get it clean. And it runs on the quiet side for a dishwasher except for an occasional noise here or there when the pump runs to drain water.

I thought that I had the perfect set and I was mistaken. I didn’t even mind paying more for it. I should have gotten a different brand that was cheaper but would have lasted longer. I bought a Fisher and Paykel dishwasher DishDrawer. The brand is very expensive, but I liked the DishDrawer feature and I was willing to pay more thinking it was a good and reputable brand. It turned out to be nothing but trouble. Countless service calls later and I finally gave up about two years ago and started washing dishes by hand. I bought this unit when I was remodeling my kitchen, so I decided to buy the unit that allows you to put the custom cabinet panels on it. So, I wasted the money not only on the dishwasher, but also on the custom cabinet panels. Not only that, but simply replacing the unit would not just be an extra expense I could not afford, but it would also change the look of my kitchen, which I spent so much time and money remodeling. Every time I would call the one and only service company in town to come out, it would work only slightly better and soon stop working again. It never seemed to work at 100% capacity. I think I spent more money on service calls than the actual appliance. How sad is that.

I have had my Fisher Paykel Dishwasher for about 10 years. I absolutely love the concept of two drawers for washing dishes since I always have an empty washer that I can load. But I have to admit I have not been 100% satisfied with the unit. The top washer has always had issues and I have had it serviced almost every year for the last 10 years. Most of the time it will beep and stop running through the cycle for no reason. And even when it does run through the cycle, some of the dishes will need to be run again. It is not always super clean as I would expect from a good dishwasher. I am told that the newer models do not have the computer at the bottom of both drawers, which causes it to short circuit a lot. I hope the newer models are better at cleaning the dishes than mine is.

We as people have grown to trust in name brands, however those days have long gone. I consider myself an economist the type shopper researches not impulses when buying a major purchase however it has come to past unless you have disposable income and dont mind re-buying the same item within 7-10 years if you dont mind then read no further, this article, complaint doesnt apply to you.2009 purchased a Fisher & Paykel washer from Sears. Bought the extended service contract and within the first year the mainboard, the inner tub were replaced. I placed a complaint on this site several years ago and was notified while on vacation concerning my complaint. At first I was confused, caught off guard and shocked that F&P would intervene and take over the complaint and order the correct UPGRADED parts. Sears Tech had no idea were available and ordered the normal routine parts even when I mention the possibility I was ignored. In the end, Sears took all the credit and basically did nothing. Most reputable companies dont want complaint especially when they are logged with the BBB or Respectfully The Attorney General although some dont care. Brand name, dont mean a thing. It pays to buy cheap and skip the bells and whistles. It doesnt pay for the short time of enjoyment usually a one year warranty if the extended was not purchased and then hear we dont contact when the warranty about to expire. Sears tell lies I was contacted on items out of warranty and they wanted me to renew. As for Fisher & Paykel I should have requested a return after the initial replacement. I thought this company was quality. I was wrong.

I have had the Fisher&Paykel Top Loading Dryer Model DEGX2 dryer since 10-2007. I had no problems with it until 3-9-2011 (bearings replaced). On 9-9-2011, dryer would not heat. Since then, I have had (as of 5-18-2012) eleven (11), under extended warranty service, calls for same problem. Dryer begins to leave clothes damp. I can see lint build up within lint scraper module (lint basket sits in this and it is not part of customer use to remove screw and module to clean lint that is not properly taken into basket). This module has been replaced and the new one had sticky residue all over it when I had no drying problem again. Warranty Company (Lowes) says the visits are a maintenance problem saying that I (the user) am not removing lint. (I do I empty the basket.) Nowhere in the users handbook does it say to take the lint module out and remove lint. This module is difficult to fit in properly; I have watched different repairmen have problems. This dryer is a pain. I paid a lot of money for it and it does not appear that the warranty company is going to back up replacement/refund due to how the repair visits are reported. I had this dryer for four years and until the bearing problem it was fine. I am angry. Do not buy Fisher&Paykel. Do not use Lowes extended protection plans.

We purchased a refrigerator ( fisher & paykel ) when we remodeled our kitchen. After 3 years, the door alarm kept beeping after we closed the door. This would keep going until we opened the door and pushed the button inside. We called the company and tried everything they suggested, to no avail. We went online and found that many other consumers had the same problem. Finally, we asked for an authorized service company. They recommended KAM appliances. It cost 95 dollars to get them to come out and tell us that they needed a part to make the repair. When they returned, they told us that the part was defective and they would talk to F& P again. They came out a third time and then the refrigerator would not work at all. We were told that it could not be fixed. We purchased our Fisher & Paykel set in 2005. We purchased the washer first as our GE model took a dive after 12 years of faithful, service-free service. The dryer caved about 5 months later and we replaced with the Fisher & Paykel ECOSMART for $825!!! Now, we are usually not people to splurge on this stuff. Our GEs did great so we took some convincing to upgrade, but we did. In hindsight, I should have taken the $400 GE and 12 more years of service-free service over the FP. Our first service call was in 2008 because the bearings went. We had 2 more service calls to replace those again and again since then along with a service call for a vent issue, a heating issue and now a fan issue. 5 calls in 8 years at $75 a pop PLUS parts, todays call was $200 total!!! This dryer has cost us close to $2,000 in 8 years...no dryer is worth that when it comes with problems, service calls, replacement parts, and a not-so friendly customer service person who my husband just hung up with. You can feel comfortable setting the temperature, spin cycle, etc. according to the booklet that comes with it and you have TONS of sensors that determine if anything unusual is being laundered. If so, the units automatically reset to take care of things. Both the washer & dryer open on top. These are manufactured in Sweden. While a little pricey, they last without any service calls for a very long time and are extremely reliable. Whatever you do stay away from DCS. We purchased a DCS 6 burner Range-top, fridge, and wall oven in November 2014. No problem with anything until second batch of Christmas cookies a week before Christmas when the oven temp dropped to 140. Repairman said we needed a micro temp limiter and another limiter. He said he could probably fix it before Christmas if he could get the parts. Having selected DCS because of offices and warehouse in California we thought we were going to be roasting turkey and baking rolls for a big family Christmas dinner... Not exactly. Sometime last Fall the Fisher and Paykel brain trust closed all their US warehouses and all phone calls for customer service are now routed to New Zealand. The Kiwis working the phones in Wellington are useless. They can tell us they know the parts have been ordered but they dont have them in stock and they cannot tell us when they will be available to ship to the US. Weve been without the wall oven for a month now. Crossing our fingers that the fridge and range-top keep working.

My four year old washing machine just died in the middle of a wash cycle. There was no indication on the digital display. I validated power to the unit then called customer service and asked for help but got nowhere. Basically, the control unit is divided into two component parts: display and motor control. Power goes to motor control, which controls the display. I located the specs sheet and tried to get out error codes, but no luck (now that’s a design flaw. How can the display board tell you it has a problem when it could be the problem?). So, it’s either the display ($160) or the motor control ($140). Both are easy units to replace. So I asked whether I could buy both units and return the one I dont use. Their answer was no. So what are my options? Have a repair guy come in at $100 who will then do what I can do for another $50 and then charge me for a marked-up part because hell tell me that’s their handling fee. End of the story is I have to make a decision to replace a 4-year-old product for another machine which would cost me about $550. The real kicker is I bought this machine and it replaced a 15-year-old machine that worked.Another thing, although the customer service had plenty of “Im sorry” they, like the repair shops who are dancing all the way to the back, are absolutely useless. My recommendation is do not buy from Fisher & Paykel, located in New Zealand. Buy from a local US company. At least you have the option of protesting outside their office.

I am seeing a recurring theme about the drain pump failures. In my case, the drain pump has now failed 2 times on my GWL11US washer. The first one was leaking all over the floor. After purchasing the second, it was better but still, the floor would get wet under the washer. Not to mention, it took about a month to get a replacement (backorder). I purchased a plastic pan to place under the washer to keep this appliance from ruining my floor. The other day, the windings on the pump motor shorted out, stunk up the whole house and the motor control board just shut down in the middle of the wash.In my opinion, both of these F&P appliances are the poorest excuse for a washer/dryer I have ever seen. The plastic lid on the washer has cracked and the overlays for the operational buttons (keyboard) have many cracks around them also. Had the design engineers put some thought into the control board, they could have planned in some short circuit protection for the control module, so it could survive a shorted load of the pump motor. Or was it planned that way to make more money? This is the first and last F&P product I will ever buy.

Just bought a new Fisher refrigerator 6 months ago. I looked for a review in Consumer Reports but didnt find one. Let me save you the time: Noisy piece of crap that has equal service backing. Let me describe the 24 hour noise combination: constant gurgling, constant whirring, constant groaning, constant grinding. Refrigerator shuts off 10 minutes in 24 hours while set on the warmest setting. Customer service? The positive side - they answer the phone. The negative - you will never get anything resolved. Call backs are nonexistent. DO NOT ACCEPT it when they say they will call back, they will not. This holds true with regional service reps. I could go on for pages of my nightmare but I have already wasted hours upon hours pursuing a fix with no results. This piece of crap is going to the curb, sick of it and cant take the noise any longer. Im done.

Eco smart washer - Well I bought this in 2011 in Lakeport at the Sears. I noticed right away that my whites werent getting white, even though I use Clorox. The next thing was having to constantly re-balance the clothes. Also, my clothes constantly get wound around the thing in the middle. The paddles should have gone all the way to the bottom of the tub. Instead theres like 4 below where clothes can get stuck. Then I did a test with the hot water. I pressed wash in hot water and when it was half-full, I opened the machine and it was cold. Well I tried turning off the cold valve and then I tried using the cold button seeing if they were switched. Then I had a problem where it wouldnt drain. Well it drains now. Clothes still get stuck, get stretched and sometimes ripped, and then come to find out that the hot button doesnt mean wash with hot. It means fill to 2 with hot and then continue filling with cold. The repairman for Sears phoned Paykel and that is what the tech told him is normal for washing in hot.I am steaming mad. Who wants to join a class action lawsuit with me? I am that angry.

Bought my Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer from a local retailer, 6 or 7 years ago. The washer sounds like an airplane going off and the dryer has been serviced three times. This time after only 6 or 7 years, the dryer will cost $450 to fix, plus the $117 service call. I paid what I thought was a fortune for them both, being told they were the best out there. I have hated them since I got them. I went yesterday and bought a $498 set of Whirlpool washer and dryer to replace them. I cant wait to get them. I am going to throw my Fisher & Paykel in the trash and tell everyone I know not to buy their products. The retailer even told me that they are not built to last more than 6 to 7 years. Its too expensive in the first place and then to find that out. Never again!

I already had one of the F & P double-drawer dishwashers at our other house before we moved here and we gathered the whole kitchen here. I put a single-desk drawer on each side of the sink and then a regular storage drawer below so I don’t have to bend over. I chose the Fisher & Paykel appliance because I was fascinated by the concept of the desk drawers and design-wise, doing things a little different. And then when we downsized from a 6000 square foot home to a 3000 square foot home, my husband and I both said we wanted to get them again. So we went 90 miles away to get them. We like the new models of F & P appliance compared with the old ones we’ve had in the past. They’re better, and the new ones are so quiet. We just love them.

We have the two drawer dishwasher, which we love. BUT, the machine stinks! A lot! After running the machine, there is always water left in the bottom of the machine. This is usually in the top drawer only, and it reeks. Weve cleaned the machine, had the repairman out, rinsed the food off the dishes so theres nothing lying around to go bad, but it still smells. Its like stagnant marsh water. Does any one else have this problem?

In 2006, I decided to upgrade a perfectly operating set of Maytag washer and dryer that I purchased in 1992. That included a set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer. These units have been a problem from the beginning. I have the top load dryer. It got to the point to where the dealer could no longer help me. They even gave me a replacement after 2 years of ongoing problems. Now, the replacement is malfunctioning. I hate to say it, but these units are junk. I bought them because of reputation. But I will never ever recommend anyone buying them.

I was quite surprised to read the negative comments about Fisher Paykel! After being a brand loyal kind of gal, everything I owned appliance wise was Maytag. After my Maytag dishwasher, washer and dryer broke down 4 times in a year. I decided it was time for a change. I went to my local appliance store and was just about to purchase a new washer/dryer when the salesman tried to sell me an FP. I had never heard of FP before. The salesman made quite the pitch. When I continued to shy away, finally he told me if I tried the units and didnt like them, within 60 days he would exchange both units. Okay, I gave it a shot. I love my FP washer/dryer so much I bought their double drawer dishwasher. I had to call for service once for the dryer and once for the dishwasher. Both were relatively simple problems that were fixed within 20 minutes of the serviceman entering my house. I would have to say I highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

Reading magazines like Bon Appétit, just going to stores and checking them out… I ended up buying a F&P DSC 305 Dual Fuel several years ago. It’s a a stove range. But then we moved and I wish I had taken it with me. But we moved again and I said, “That’s it, I’m getting another one.” My previous unit was very similar to what I have now. I bought it because of the quality last time and because the stove is a 5-burner and all of the burners, you can slide one from the other. Price was very good and certainly the BTU is where I want it to be, only this time the quality wasn’t as high. The oven wasn’t as hot as I would have liked it because the electric doesn’t get as hot as a gas would have. So it’s an excellent range, but a disappointing electric oven.

I purchased an FP washing machine in 2008. I was assured of the quality and low maintenance of this washer. Fortunately, I had the factory warranty and then the extended warranty and I have needed every bit of it. This washer is simply a piece of metal junk. I am so angry and dissatisfied with how FP, Lowes and A&E repair has dealt with this. I had it repaired at least 6 times under the FP warranty and when it was broken it was down for weeks. Parts took forever. Then on to Lowes and A&E. I have had nothing but trouble with the washer. Lowes will not replace my machine and FP refuses to do anything. I just had it repaired in April and it was out of service for a month then. Now it’s leaking water underneath - clearly the bearings are going out and again Im going to be without a washer. This is absolute garbage. Do not buy FP washers - not to mention that now the leaking washing has destroyed my Pergo kitchen floor. I’m very angry.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2001 because I thought that the two drawers would be great since there are just two of us at home. Directly out of the box, this dishwasher had a dented stainless steel panel on one of the drawers. The water sensor was defective in the other, which caused noisy alarms and error messages. It only got better from there. Both drawers seals were defective and replaced multiple times in the first year. When the seal again caused alarms to go off after the warranty, the bill was over $150.00 each time this happened. These drawers were lemons from the start and should have been replaced. I have not used the machine for eight years. My husband and I do our dishes by hand. However, my current horror with this product is that now, to add insult to injury, the two drawers take turns in making beeping and/or clicking noises and the lights flash. This leads us to turn off the circuit breaker. Since my trash compactor is also on that circuit, I am unable to use everything in the kitchen that is also on that circuit--unless I go to the basement and turn on the breaker. This product is not worth the effort of purchasing. After the first year of keeping the machine running, I was told that the changes were made to the drawers that improved the quality and reliability. This purchase has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend this product to a friend. Just the thought of paying another $1,800.00 to some company for a machine to wash my dishes gives me pause to say the least. I am extremely disappointed in every aspect of this product. Certainly, the design, workmanship, quality control, value and servicing have failed to meet its intended purpose.

We compared them to the LG and my brother has great reviews on how quiet it was and when it came down to it, the sales person said that it was just a little bit above the line than the LG. We thought wed give it a try because we like the idea of it being a quiet experience. I wish I had heard about the Fisher Paykel brand about 6 years ago, and I definitely would have bypassed this brand. I have no problems with the dryer so far, but the washer starts beeping into the wash cycle, and it takes forever (and I mean forever) for the tub to fill (Im talking about all day to finish 2 loads of clothes), because Im constantly having to go and press the machine to start up again. It wont rinse. It only fills, and then drains. It also leaks from time to time. I figure the whole panel is shot, and I dont know what the deal is with the tub filling so slowly, but Im completely fed up with it, and after reading other complaints, I feel misled by this company and doubt Ill even bother to waste money to have it checked out. Both the washer and dryer had light usage (2 to 3 loads per week). I will never buy another washer or dryer with a push button computer panel, nor will it ever be the Fisher Paykel brand. I bought my old Kenmore washer and dryer second-handed, and they were still going after 28 years, when I got rid of them. I wish I had them back (who cares if they werent energy efficient, they worked, which is more than I can say for the overpriced cheap junk imported from overseas these days)! I would gladly pay more money for products made in America that is of good quality!

Fisher Paykel DCS Counter Depth Refrigerator - I am absolutely BEYOND frustrated with this brand! Since last October I have had no less than eight, EIGHT, service calls to sort out why my ice maker drops ice cubes into the receptacle below that are freeze together. The ice that comes out of the cube tray is not frozen fully...therefore it becomes a big lump in my freezer. In order to get ice, we have to stab at it with a big knife. NOT SAFE to say the least. I have had two repair companies come to the house. Theyve called FP techs while at my house to go over the issue. The techs advice this last time was to adjust the temperature. (Or to tell me I dont close the freezer door...sorry on that one...it ain’t the problem or I would have had this issue all along.) I also dont overload my refrigerator or freezer door. Its not my first rodeo with an upscale appliance. If I could, I would dump this lemon on the sidewalk. But since my fridge surround was built for it...I am stuck. I have held back my comments for months, but as of yesterday, I am not doing that any longer. I have listened in to the FP Tech calls to the repairman. The first tech was so incredibly rude and insulting I wanted to take the phone from the poor repair guy and give him a piece of my mind. The second tech said, “Oh, just adjust the temp to a warmer temp,” Really? (Why is he a tech?) Did he not understand that the ice is NOT FROZEN all the way when it drops into the bin? The icemaker was replaced fully several visits ago...its something else and frankly, I dont believe for a quick second that its something the tech guys has never heard of before. Im not a repairman, I am a consumer. A very smart consumer that knows the buck is being passed. I paid $600 for an extended warranty on this unit. I expect the darn thing to work properly. If it cannot be repaired the FP needs to come forward and deliver a new one to me. I will simply not buy, nor ever recommend, this brand again. I would be disingenuous. If no one can repair it, not even the trained FP guys with the tech on the phone...I have no faith. Zero. So sad.

The recommended and authorized repairman arrived and discovered that the main circuit board was not functioning, so my top drawer was unable to work. He had the wrong part so he left, and was to return four days later. On that occasion, although he installed the board, there was then an additional problem with a wire. He left again, and had to order that part. Five days later I had to call to find out what was going on. The HiTech service, or rising service solution person, as their caller ID reads, informed me that they were service techs, not a warehouse, and so parts had to be ordered. Every time the guy comes, its another long trip, paid by me from their location. How can you be an authorized service and not carry parts? Also, I find the Fisher Paykel website very unhelpful re: technicians. I talked to a living person, and she had no more information than I did, so that also was useless. I love my dishwasher, but the arrangements for service are inept. I will not use them again.

Like the 100s of complaints I have just read about F&P clothes dryers mine is no different. Actually, compared to others Im feeling lucky that mine has lasted 6 years before a drum bearing has failed. My issue is two fold:1) After contacting customer service they were totally satisfied with six years and considered it a good run. I, however, am not satisfied with six years since my Maytag lasted 28 years and the only reason I gave it up was for styling reasons. I gave the dryer to a young married couple to use. It might still be running for all I know. F&P were more than happy to sell me, at full retail price, a bearing kit.2) After seeing the 100s of complaints and reading the companies stock response (which is not helpful at all), I am left wondering what the results were and how did the company satisfy the complaint.I have ordered the part from the company ($73.30 plus shipping) and hopefully this will solve my squeaking issue. I wished I had seen this complaint board before I purchased an F&P product. It really makes we wonder how F&P can stay in business.

I recently cut my finger when pulling it open, and discovered three sharp, probably metal projections on the pull. I can only conclude that this must be a design defect. I have a washer and dryer set that I have had for a few years. It has not been anything but trouble since I have had them. Then the dryer had been worked on two or three times and right now it sounds like the whole drum is about to come out. I am tired of having to call a repairman to take care of problems. I would not recommend anyone to buy your products, because I have been very disappointed with your products. I still say that I have a lemon and that I should have been given another one in the beginning. That is what happens when you buy a lemon automobile. You should have minus stars for F & P.8-month old fridge stopped cooling. Called F & P warranty repair, they sent Integrity Appliance. first call to F & P was 6/26/11, over the next 5 weeks they sent Integrity (usually with a long wait between to repair Fan motor control, then main contorl, then temp sensor, then PC fan. Never worked, although repairman declared it fixed. I requested replacement (5 weeks without a cold fridge in summer) and they made noises each time, but still decided on repair. They also said that since I bought from an open box store, they consider it refurb and would only replace with a refurb (watch out for Weiler Group, too- they dont disclose this at time of purchase). I was promised a call from a supervisor Monday 8/1 regarding replacement, but no one called. When I called today they said that theyve been in touch with Integrity and the repair company has ordered the part and is trying to schedule another repair. Integrity left last Fri after replacing the PC fan and again declared it fixed, although it was melting what little I had in the freezer - liquid popsicles and ice cream, soggy frozen peas. So how Integrity knew to order a part tfor something that was fixed... I also submitted my list of lost food (partial, actually, I got tired of making the list and going to the store to check prices) over $200 worth. I was told by F & P to submit a list with prices, since I didnt have photos - when I came home to fing everything spoiled I didnt think of photos I thought of getting the rotten smell out of the house. As to foday theyre going to investigate my claim - so now they seem to be renegging on that too.Since I was 99.999% sure they wouldnt replace the fridge, I spent more of my own money and bought a Kenmore over the weekend - I need a working fridge, and I have no faith in F & P, a company I found to be unethical and dishonorable. What I want now is 1)Id settle for $800 of the &1600 I spent on the useless box they call a fridge and 2) I want the money for my spoilage.
