Comprar General Motors Automovil GMC Terrain
I bought a 2010 Chevy Equinox 2 years ago and in the last 6 months, I have had nothing but issues. In January I had to have my timing belts replaced (under warranty), then in April there was a issue with the motor using too much oil. They had to replace half the motor (which was under a special warranty). Fast forward to last week, the transmission went!!! I took it back to the dealership just to find out that the 5 yr warranty had expired in the beginning of the month (never knew this was only good from the first time it was bought off the lot.) The dealership was able to get GM to cover a portion of it but I would still have to pay $1600 out of pocket. I feel that they should cover more than that stating all the issues I have been having.I called GM and spoke with a Kathy. She pretty much told me that I should be grateful that they are helping me at all and I can either take the offer or leave it. And that I should discuss with my family the best choice for us as the consumer. Appalling customer service, when asked to speak to someone higher up she told me that she was pretty high up and the decision is already made. I will never buy another Chevy. Buyer beware!
Transmission began to malfunction after having the vehicle for one week. I went several months and Lumberton Chevy continuously refused to fix it. Finally they decided to fix the vehicle after me calling GM corporate office. GM called the dealership in Lumberton NC requesting that they pick my vehicle up for repair and they didnt! GM called roadside assistance and had my vehicle picked up. They kept my vehicle for two weeks and it took them a week to get me into a replacement vehicle. Im self employed and GM caused me to lose money. I asked to be reimbursed and they refused to reimburse me anything. I was told that they were going to pay my car payment for a few months, now they have refused to do anything. The district manager was supposed to call me in reference to the poor customer service that I have received and I have yet to hear from the district manager. I spoke to a lady by the name of Charisma on today and she stated that she was told that they would not allow me to trade the vehicle for another one neither are they willing to reimburse me for money that was lost during this time. There is no way that anyone could ever talk me into buying a GM vehicle. The customer service is past poor. They only care about themselves and how many cars they can sell. I have never ever experienced customer service like this. I traded my 2013 Fusion to get the traverse because I needed a third row vehicle, but at this point, I will be trading this poor excuse for a vehicle for a new Ford Explorer. I will never have anything to do with GM again. When you purchase a new vehicle, you expect to not have to worry about anything and if you do you expect to have excellent customer service. If you purchase a GM vehicle you will not get customer service. If you purchase a GM vehicle our just stuck!
As a GM Customer for over 12 years, I leased a Cadillac for 4 years and recently leased a 2021 XT6. As I contact Cadillac Novi, to schedule an appointment for my XT6 to come in for service. Due to hearing an unfamiliar noise when I’m accelerating. I was told by the Service Advisor that they have no vehicles for loaners due to the chip shortage. But furthermore I was told that I can go and rent a vehicle at Enterprise or whatever and then contact GM to see if I could be reimbursed. I asked the Service Advisor how come they can’t set me up with Enterprise or a rental company due to them not having vehicles. To make the matters worse, he tells me that it would take at least 5 days before the vehicle will even be diagnosed. As a frustrated customer I asked the Service Advisor as a customer who has a bumper to bumper warranty what if I don’t have the financial income to be able to rent a vehicle at this time. The Service Advisor had nothing to say.At this point it’s clear that GM - Cadillac has nothing in place for customers. It’s very sad and unacceptable on all levels. I’m very disappointed with GM and will not be going back. Having a Bumper to Bumper Warranty is useless and it shows that GM do not honor their product. Anytime a customer have to come out of pocket when they purchased a new vehicle for a peace of mind is unacceptable. The fact that a customer have to call and go through the process of GM lack of production is this chip it seems as it’s a fallback with them. I’m so disappointed and will not be a continue customer. The Service Advisor gave me a phone number that after the prompts it just rings and rings. Then another number that after you press the prompt to #1 it goes to talk to text.
I purchased my 2014 GMC Terrain 2 years ago as a used vehicle with 15,000 miles on it. I have been overall very satisfied with the looks and performance of this vehicle. A few months ago we started having a shudder happen at acceleration. We didnt know what it might be from and it was so intermittent that we didnt immediately have it checked out. As the weather warmed the shudder happened more often and eventually made it to where it was difficult to pull out from an intersection due to no acceleration. We took it to a dealer to have it checked out and were advised that there is problem with several model years of GM transmissions having the torque converter delaminate which causes debris to spread through the transmission and causes it to fail. This is the case with ours and with a $5400 price tag to replace the transmission. We complained that since this is 2019 and its a 2014 with 59,000 miles shouldnt it be covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. They advised it was out of the 5 years by 7 months from the in-service date. They did offer a 30% discount but we still felt this was way too much to pay for a transmission. We decided to take to a transmission shop for repair. The price ended up being the same as what the discounted price would be from the dealer. I contacted GM and was told that they wouldnt work with me on this since the repairs werent being done at a dealer. By the time that we discussed, it was too late to stop the repairs at the transmission shop. I was disgusted that GM wouldnt stand behind a vehicle with less than 60,000 miles with transmission failure and only 5 years old. This vehicle has not been abused or neglected in service. I am ready to say that we will no longer consider GM vehicles as possible options when we replace this or any of our other vehicles, even though we have been lifetime GM fans/owners.
During the pandemic we were a couples months late due on payments. I talked to them on the phone countless times telling them we could pay once I got on my unemployment but that wasnt good enough they repod my vehicle and how are threatening to sue me if I dont pay 600 dollars. This is my third vehicle with this company and prior to this I always made my payments. They dont care if you have a family to take care of and they dont care about you during this pandemic. Sway away from them and do business elsewhere please.
PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN PURCHASING A 2020 GENERAL MOTORS PRODUCT. GM has no available parts to fix them, should you have an accident or something breaks. My 2020 GMC Terrain has been sitting in an auto body repair shop waiting on a rear left door since June 1st of 2020. My rental car insurance coverage has met the policy maximum as of June 26th, and now Im having to pay an additional $200 a Week for a rental, while my car sits waiting on a GM part. Their response to me was we have no parts available with no date of when parts will be available. I was informed by the repair shop it could be next week it could be 6 months, could be a year from now. GM is unable to provide a date when they expect to manufacture parts. GM is costing $800 of my monthly net income and has provided no customer service of any type. Ive called GM directly with no response other than the parts are on backorder. Ive filed a Customer Complaint with GM and with the Federal Trade Commission. - Hope this helps save someone a good deal of expense and aggravation. Thank you and take care.
Does anyone else have this problem? I bought my 2012 GMC Terrain in Jan 2012. During my first week of owning it, we had some bad snow storms. The state uses a lot of salt to battle ice. When I opened the door, I had some difficulty opening it. When I did get it open, I noticed snow, slush, dirt, etc. at the rocker panel area where the inside bottom of my door meets the vehicle. I showed this twice to the dealership and they mainly stated they had never seen anything like it. Now this summer, the vehicle is leaking dust into the vehicle and builds up mud and dust at the rocker panel area. I took it back to the dealer and they put mud guards to see if they will help. I still see dust and dirt at the rocker panel. Otherwise, I like my Terrain. Please, if anyone is having this problem, I would like to know.
Poor engineering, not good in winter. The air intake on the hood is stupid. The snow will come in and will ice up the air filter. Happened to me on a trip to MN. Also in the winter with idling or short trips the exhaust filter will plug up. Had to take it to dealer also $150. $60,000 for a truck in the summer. Chevy was no help.
I have been complaining about the same concerns to GMC customer assistance for months. I am not getting any assistance from the dealer and a customer “senior” case manager seems to forget our conversations EVERY TIME! I have been being pulled along for a ride regarding how important my business is and that they will have a resolution to either trade me out of my car with assistance or buy this lemon back. It is appalling how I am being treated right now after being patient for months and months and trying to work with a brand that I have been very loyal to, to receive zero action and all talk. I will be trading in my vehicle and leaving the brand after spending over 75k on a Denali and 60k on a Suburban brand new off the lot from a GMC dealer. All over poor customer service.
GM provides a full bumper to bumper warranty on their new cars as well as 24-hour roadside assistance program if your car happens to break down. As a consumer you are entitled to a tow and transportation to your home, work, or dealer. As I read in my contract after buying a new car from GM. My new car unfortunately broke down in an extreme way at only 300 miles due to water pump failure and engine overheat. Naturally I cannot drive the car anymore and have to pull over to side of the road and call GM 24 roadside assistance. This breakdown is a bummer, but it happens. Overall the call goes well. I am told a tow truck is on its way as well as a cab to take me home. Sounds fine. Except none of this happens.I call again after over an hour. Apparently there is no record of the tow trucks being sent or the cab. They apologize and resubmit the requests for me. Okay, mistakes happen. Again I wait for a tow and cab, but they never come. I call a third time. Same issue. So my request is resubmitted. I wait again, nothing comes. Its getting near 10pm now. Real bummer for me. Eventually I get a tow truck though. No cab. Reason? Cab cant be located. Weird. I get a cab via my phone app shortly afterward. That was a fun 5 hours.Since my car wasnt picked up till after 10pm, dealers are closed and I could not be given a loaner car (which you are entitled to if your car breaks down under warranty) to take me to work the next day. This is fine though since I am told GM can provide transportation to either the dealer or my work the next morning. Next morning I call GM roadside assistance. They say they will get me a ride to work. They call back 30 minutes later, they cannot provide me a ride to work. I ask for a ride to the dealer. They say okay. They call back 45 minutes later and say they cannot get me a ride to the dealer. I call my local dealer rather than 24 roadside assistance - they come pick me up and provide me with a loaner. Guess I shouldnt rely on promised services from GM directly. Conclusion: GMs 24 roadside assistance has obligations that they failed to meet in my situation. I do not understand why. If something is promised, but not provided, there should be accountability. I have not the time or resources to hold GM accountable, but the fault does not vanish. If GM cannot execute on obligations then they should not be stated to the consumer when vehicle is being purchased. One main reason I purchased a new car was the security of a warranty and assistance from GM if poor car operation became an issue. The car issue happened unfortunately, but GM failed to rise to its promises.GMs problem: big on promises, poor on execution. It was cheaper to screw me then to make good on a promise of service. As one person, what can I reasonably do? How can I reasonably prove lack of service effort on GMs part? GM knows the average consumer has neither the time or awareness on how to stand up for themselves. Thanks GM, you swindled me good. Even after going through bankruptcy, which as I recall we citizens paid for, GM still stutters about on cost savings of value proposition. Thanks US government, you made us pay for it. Next time, let capitalism run its course.
My 2012 Cruze that purchased in FL Dec 2011 had no cruise control. So I had the Dealer install it before the vehicle left the lot. Over a week ago my car started acting weird. It wouldnt go over 38 mph and it would show traction control - say the car was overheating and would go in Idle mode and said it needed to save power. Now I currently live in PA and took it to the closest dealer. The dealership told me that cruise control was installed improperly and needs to be removed because the wiring is spliced and it would cost me $214 with the diagnostic fee and the uninstallation. I was upset at this point because I didnt understand why I would have to pay to have something I paid to have put in uninstalled and I wont have it now? So I then contacted the dealership in FL to see if they would credit me back since the cruise control was put in improperly according to the dealership my car is at currently. From going back and forth and waiting for a call back, I finally got a call back to find out from the FL dealership that it was an aftermarket cruise control that was installed and that the module just needed to be changed and that’s it. So I called the dealership in PA and they said since it’s an aftermarket piece they didnt know that and there is nothing they can do. So I contacted GM and spoke to a rep Lauren there who I have been dealing with over a week to only get NOTHING resolved, and everyone just wants to play the he said she said game and not take responsibility for this and their employees not knowing what they are doing! I am upset and dont know what to do at this point. I am out of a cruise control and now have to pay for their mistake? This just doesnt seem right to me. I am still waiting on a call back from Lauren’s supervisor at GM customer service as well. This is my third car I purchased from this company and this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. I dont understand why a customer knows more information on this than their actual employees and now I have to pay for this?
Six days after the purchase of a new truck (1 mile on odometer) while making a left turn the front left wheel fell off the truck. The truck hit a car at the intersection and damaged the front and back bumper but was driveable. GM has denied the claim.
July 22, 2019, we (Fiance and I) purchased a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado from Crew’s Chevrolet in North Charleston, SC. Within the first few week, we heard a constant thump coming from the rear of the cab. We took it in to the dealership not once, not twice but three times in order for the problem corrected. We were informed by the dealership that we could file a claim with GM so, we did. It has been a pain ever since. Once filing the claim with GM, we were assigned to a Senior Advisor. After a few conversations with the initial Senior Advisor, we found out they were no longer with the company and no one knew anything regarding the status of our claims. A week or so later, we received a phone call from another Senior Advisor, Tori, who was now assigned to our case. From here, I can’t even begin to describe the frustration I have felt. I have gone round for round with Tori regarding what to do, what’s going on and what to even think regarding our thumping with the truck. A civil engineer was sent to the dealership, a ton of sealant was applied and it is still thumping! (NO surprise there). Tori calls every 2 to 3 days to tell me that there is no update regarding our claim. There is an “Internal Resource Team” that apparently has not responded to her since the beginning of January. I have even called the service advisor at the local dealership and she seems to know more about our claim than the Senior Advisor assigned to our case. We are extremely frustrated and just want this to be over. We want our money back for the lemon that was manufactured by GM. We want to move on and not have to deal with the constant frustration with GM, Tori and the 2019 Chevy Silverado sitting in our yard. We have to make our payments while we do not feel safe driving this vehicle and have made that extremely clear. When will we get the answers?
My 2011 GMC Terrain 4-cylinder has very poor fuel mileage, 23 max on hwy although advertised at 28+. It has jerky shifting between 4th and 5th gear, noisy front fuel pump and poor turning radius.
For years, I have noticed that approximately 80-90% of all personal vehicles on the roads, which have either a headlight or a taillight nonfunctioning, are General Motors products. Im just wondering if this chronic problem has been reported to you before.
I am the sorry owner of a Chevy Impala. I have been a GM customer for over 20 years. I have always tried to support American made cars. My experience with this Impala has been a nightmare. I have taken it to the dealer several times and have gotten treated very poorly. The rear defrost just quit working. Tire system failed, now I am waiting to be seen for the recall and need to have someone check out why my car gives me the message engine power reduced. Once I have these things done, I will be returning this car and I will never purchase an automobile from GM or any of its affiliates. I am so disgusted with this car. I depend on this car (I cant call it an automobile or vehicle) to take my child back and forth and I need to get to work. I cannot afford to jeopardize her safety. I will never recommend GM to anyone.
Took my $32,000 car in for recall on key and keyless entry. They rigged it and now it looks like **. I was told I was going to be given a new keys not altered keys. My husband and I are very unsatisfied and have called GM with no positive results.
Just wondering if anyone else who had this recall done ran into a situation where the low beam headlights had to be replaced at the owners expense. This situation is ridiculous. Let me first state the I accept partial blame for not taking my car in as soon as I received a recall notice. When my low beam lights went out I took my car to JohnBear to have the HDM recall addressed. I picked up my car after the recall work was done and went in to work for night shift.Leaving work the next day I found I had no low beam headlights and now no dash lights. Took it back to JohnBear where I was informed that both my low beam headlights had burnt out at the exact same time(?) and that had nothing to do with the recall(?). Ive dealt with a service rep at Buick (Sheri) that I must apologize to for letting my frustration get the better of me. I was charged $373.40 for two installed low beam headlights(?). In my mind and 3 or 4 mechanics I have spoken with this is excessive and should have either been tied to the recall or the original work performed at the dealership. Yet no one is taking responsibility.
I bought a 2010 Chevy Equinox in Feb, 2015. I was given a carfax and told, appears there are no serious issues or repairs. # mo. later had a 1,500 repair - GM picked up half as timing chain had an added extd warranty due to many failures. It was THEN I was told about MANY EXTD WARRANTY ISSUES BEING fixed before 80,000 on my car! Now at 114,000 I have complete trans. failure!! I was told Oh well. I didnt get the extended warranty at 104,000 when I bought it because I was assured the car had NO major issues. GM WILL DO NOTHING although there are HUNDREDS of complaints online about the 2010 transmission failing. The dealer wants 4,000 to fix it. It will be returned and repod as I cant pay for it, and I cant fix it. Thanks GM. CAR is a lemon from the word GO!! As many people who have a failed transmission on this car, there should be a RECALL or another extd warranty. I will go back to a foreign car! I will never own a GM again.
If youre looking for a practical small SUV with decent fuel economy and plenty of usable space inside and comfortable ride. The 2017 Equinox is not a bad choice. Whether a long trip or a short trip around town. That being said. My experience owning this vehicle has been poor. In the short time that I have owned it. I have had to replace the power seat track and then back again 40k later to have the switch on the power seat replaced along with the fuse block. The front brakes dont last the expected average in normal driving conditions. Most recently I picked up on a issue the Equinox has had since the current version came out in 2010 and GM has never addressed it at the manufacturing level. The inner door seams on all four doors have rusted. Bulletin# 15136. Unfortunate I didnt notice the issue until 62 so paid out of pocket for repair. Outside of these issues there are other know issues that I have not experienced. And outside of regular maintenance and the issues I have mentioned. It is a good all around SUV that can be purchased at a more affordable price than most competitors. Also if safety is a concern. The equinox is one of the best at a 4 out of 5 stars. P.S. GM does not supports their product long term adequately enough.
First and foremost, GMs service sucks. I took my 1987 Oldsmobile Toronado to Don Gooley Cadillac in Saint Clair Shores. The guy who used to service the Oldsmobile went to a different dealership and the write-up person told me to go to that dealership which is 40 miles away. When I asked if there is anybody else there that could service my car, I was told no. I even had the service booked for the car. So I wrote to the owner of the dealership and the service manager on how unhappy I was. No response and that was over 2 months ago. The next time I buy a car, its going to be a Toyota. I get service on my 30-year old Celica and they dont treat me like crap.
We purchased a GMC Canyon, the contract was incorrect per our original agreement. I have proof of the original agreement, I took a picture of it. We were kept until right before closing and encouraged to sign without looking at any of the contract. We were taken advantage of over 5000 dollars. I have went into GM three times and called at least 8 times. Every time I am promised management will return my call. To date they have not called.
I bought this car last year and before the year was over, I had to take it back to the dealership at the very least four times. I complained to GM, and they said that in order to be able to POSSIBLY HELP ME, I had to take it to the dealership again! Was four times not enough! I am traumatized to drive that car, and I do not recommend to ANYONE!
Tedd Britt Chevrolet (Sterling, VA) and General Motors has given me the run around. They have shown gross negligence by refusing to replace my newly purchased 2020 Silverado 1500. I have been tossed around from manager to manager, from advisor to advisor. Nobody wants to be the one caught with the customer (me) in a potential lawsuit:I have put less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle, hardly owned six months. First owner. The vehicle has been in FIVE TIMES for various electrical issues including brake system failures (x3), and most recently the vehicle shut off while I was traveling +60mph. I fear for my safety. See attached invoice photos. Their staff sees you as a number - a price tag. Their “Customer Experience Manager” did not even look at me, he talked over me, and downright refused to help me - would not even give me the customer service phone number. He said it was not his problem. Incredible. Don’t waste your time, or your safety. Buy a Ford.
I love my 2002 GMC Envoy! This has most definitely been my fav vehicle that I have ever owned. My Envoy has so much space for transportation of items or for long distances with the family. I chose this vehicle originally based on the spaciousness! The GMC gave me the right amount of luxury and was still amazingly functional for my large family! I could easily put my daughters wheelchair in the back but still be able to park it once we got where we were going. The only downfall of owning my Envoy has been the prices that all replacement parts seem to be! If anything breaks on the Envoy, I have Easily dropped at least $200 on the replacement part. This is ridiculous! That also doesnt include the cost of the work that was done to it.
I recently ordered and Purchased a Camaro. Unfortunately I was in car accident, therefore I had to have my new camaro repaired. I took it to a chevy dealership to have all the repairs done. Three weeks ago the dealership ordered black rally stripe decals to go on the hood of the Camaro. The dealership still has not had an expected date of arrival from GM on when the stripes will arrive. I could have had my car back three weeks ago all completed. I do not understand why it takes this long to make black rally stripes that goes on the hood of a Camaro and have them shipped to the proper place in a timely manner.
In Oct 2013, my wife and I purchased a new 2013 Sonic sedan. A few months later it developed a creaking noise in the steering at low speeds as well as a scrunching noise in the rear when sitting in the car each time. The dealer tried unsuccessfully to fix it on several occasions in which the car spent about 6 weeks at the dealership. They swapped out parts from other cars, replaced new parts; all unsuccessful. After owning the car for 6 months I had had enough so I traded it on a 2014 Sonic (what a mistake). The scrunching noise in the rear started soon after. But as winter set in 7 months after buying it, the creaking noise started in the newest car. Again the dealer attempted to fix it, telling me it was cured. But when I picked up the car the noise was still present. Again this car spent several weeks at the dealership - finally my car was dropped back off for the last time; creaking still there. GM customer service had been following the issue. I called the dealership and GM, told them the noise was still there. A few weeks went by and today GM call center called and explained that they could not fix the issue and that the creaking noise was a normal characteristic of the car and they would no longer try to fix this issue. I have never been so frustrated.
I took my vehicle (2012 Equinox) to the dealership to have my piston rings replaced due to a recall. After having them replaced there was a noise coming from under the hood. I asked the dealership what was this noise, after having my vehicle for a month I was told that the noise is coming from a Vacuum which comes from the pistons not working properly. I was told that I must pay for this to be fixed because its not under warranty. My problem is that if the piston rings caused this and theres a recall for this, then the Vacuum problem should be in recall as well. I contacted GM and they told me the same thing the dealership said but added that this has not been seen in all vehicles. How many have to have this problem for GM to make it their priority? Not fair to pay for something that was caused by a recall!!!
I am writing this complaint as I am very disappointed the way my whole purchase and ownership experience. I feel that a profit motivation has ruled the decision making process and customer service non existent. Firstly at the purchase of our 2012 Chevrolet Cruz, one major significant item was not offered and when we became aware of this item we were told it was too late. Then on the first trip we hit a pothole and damaged two tires. No problem, we have warranty. But even the dealership gave us the vehicle with three tires with a maximum of 21 PSI 2 at 18. We paid for this as no one was responsible. We noticed on the side mirror at the outset what we perceived to be polish dust. Upon the initial washing we became aware that it was actually a defect. We drove to the dealership only to be told we will sort it out. However, after repeated complaints we were told it was never written down and you now are out of warranty. GM in their infinite wisdom agreed and refused to change them. Managers looking at the mirrors have said off the record that it is definitely a flaw, but I guess in this experience it will be up to us to solve it. Other items which were not on the warranty. Replace the brake disk and the pads at 30,000 KM (As a former Rally racer this is absurd). The air conditioning works poorly to say the least, even I had to pay to change to replace all the filters. There is a power surge from the gearbox at gear change - still unresolved but we are out of warranty.I worked at GM and this is something I never saw from a quality perspective. I am also a second generation GM owner as my father lived and breathed GM and owned GM cars for approximately fifty years. At this point Big Brother and its profits have lost a customer and I will never consider a GM product again. I can assure you I will expound my experiences to prospective buyers as well. I have never favored Lemon Laws but I now realise that they have a place and are needed to protect customers. Thank you for reading.
Coolant leaks gradually from the waterpump until engine overheats. GM knows this is an issue with this car. This car was bought brand new and was sold to my father-in-law, a WWII veteran who was 87 years old when he bought the car. Car was brought back to the dealership multiple times soon after it was purchased. The issue was never fixed properly and car overheated again and again and again.Ownership was transferred to us when my father-in-law was diagnosed with dementia and could no longer drive. As second owners we were never informed there is a special warranty covering this exact issue. The car has overheated for us multiple times. Weve spent over $1,000 trying to get this issue fixed. GM refuses to reimburse us and cannot seem to give a reasonable explanation as to why the dealership (Muzi Chevy in Needham, MA) never notified us of this special warranty even though we brought the car back there ourselves for this very issue - GM never notified us of this special warranty either. Terrible experience - terrible car. We will NEVER buy another GM vehicle.
I took my vehicle to the dealer over a month ago with what I thought was transmission problem. Was told that I needed a torque converter and would be covered under warranty. Again, this was over a month ago and still no parts. I called GM to see if they could help. After about 7 days of waiting on a response from GM, was told that there was nothing they could do and should continue to reach out to the dealer. So I call the dealer back to be told that they have over 40 other vehicles on their lot that they can’t service because they can’t get parts from GM. I think this is the most ridiculous thing that GM cannot get parts to the dealers do that the vehicles they sell can be serviced or repaired. WHAT A JOKE. And they can’t blame it on the strike. Was told by dealer service manager, they were have issues getting parts before the strike.
In May 2019 my son purchased a New 2019 1500 Silverado Trail Boss. He graduated college, got a great job and needed a pickup. He actually purchased the truck 1 month before he graduated because of Chevy Truck Month. Last month we noticed that light passed through the bed of the truck into the wheel well. Looking into the wheel well we saw a 3 split in the wheel well that went through the bed liner. We took it to the dealership and they suggested a patch to weld the steel of the truck and a patch for the factory bedliner because General Motors will not do anything else under warranty. A 6 month old Truck with 8,000 miles that he paid $48k has a defect and General Motors will patch it. Patch the wheel well, the bed and the bedliner?I called General Motors after a complaint/claim was filed and spoke to, a Senior Advisor of Customer assistance. She claimed even though they came to that resolution they have no idea how the body shop is going to fix it, they dont know how or even if they are going to fix the bed liner. I was told nobody at customer service knows anything about the construction of the vehicle because they do not have the technical training for that. I asked to give me to someone who did have that technical training to answer my questions regarding the bed material, the patch if its a weld, etc and I was told there is no one that could help me. I was also told there was no management above the Senior Advisor, my response was you dont have a boss to which she replied, yes I have a boss so I asked to speak with him/her and apparently her boss, the head of the customer assistance branch of General Motors does not talk to customers. The Senior Advisor said GM only will replace the bed if it has multiple defects. When I said It is going to look like it has been patched and then this was the last straw she actually said Well, like I told your son if it doesnt look good, he could replace the truck bed and pay for it on his own. THE TRUCK WAS $48,000, IT IS 6 MONTHS OLD, HAS 8,000 MILES AND GM SUGGESTS THE CUSTOMER SHOULD PAY FOR A REPLACEMENT OF A GENERAL MOTORS DEFECT?? At the end of the conversation GMs final resolution was a patch and that the work would be under warranty for 12 month and if it didnt look like new the customer could pay for the replacement. My questions are: 1. What about the bed and wheel well that have be exposed to rain since it was manufactured will there be corrosion? 2. What about the fact that he now has a less than Excellent Carfax report showing body work making the car less valuable to sell or trade in? 3. What about he has a patched bedliner and sheet steel weld patch on a New truck? Are they going to cover any problems stemming from this fix?4. Why would it ever be acceptable for your a Senior Advisor in customer service to suggest more than once that if the patch for a factory defect decreases value or negatively affects the aesthetics of the new vehicle then the customer could pay for it.I have owned 10 General Motors vehicles in my life some trucks, some cars, suv. I guarantee you I will NEVER buy another GM product, my kids and family will never buy a gm product, I am disgusted they will not stand behind their product or the quality of their product. We asked GM replace the bed not the vehicle and they wont even replace the FACTORY installed liner. General Motors is a disgrace to Made in the USA products.
My 2012 GMC Terrain is not getting the gas mileage on sticker. I went to the dealership many times, but they could care less. I guess all they wanted was my money.
I bought a 2014 GMC truck with thirty one thousand miles and I drove it for three years to eighty four thousand miles and my family and I went for a road trip to Vegas Nevada and we were driving on a parking lot around 5 miles an hour and for no reason the motor broke down and Chevy wouldn’t honor the warranty. It cost me 10,000 dollars to get it fix at Fairway Chevrolet in Vegas and they didn’t do a good job. Now I have a check engine light on. Now a local dealer wants 1700 dollars to fix it. So I’m really mad at General Motors.
I have a problem. I tried ordering parts from your GM dealers around me - the recall that’s on my car. Hell I was going to have it fixed. They wouldnt have to. My 2006 Chevy Cobalt just quit running on me on my way to work. If you could get them to get the part, I will have it fixed cause Im still paying for it and I cant let it sit. I called Corbin KY and LaFollette Tenn. That’s closer to me cause I gotta work.
I crashed my 98 GMC Safari van into my garage when the ABS came on at a low speed. I replaced the sensors. Now it works but has a damaged bumper, and I have a damaged garage! I also have a 2000 Chevy Astro van that is now doing the same thing!
We bought a 2011 GMC Terrain SLT brand new from the dealer. At 19,000 miles the AC compressor went out, warranty covered that expense. 2 years later the compressor had a leak and the dealer recharged the compressor. This was done without our knowledge while we had the vehicle in for an oil change. At 90,000 miles we had a new transmission installed for $4200. That was our fault for not getting rid of the Terrain. In 2017 the check engine light came on, we were told it was a sensor for the exhaust. 2 days ago the AC compressor went out again. The Terrain was back at the dealer today. We were told the compressor was bad and needed replacing, $1000. The check engine light was really the timing chain needed to be replaced $2000. The vehicle has 115000 miles on it and I cant afford to have it fixed. GMC should step up to the plate and give me and my wife some assistance. We are both retired living off social security!!
Trying to buy a 2018 Chevy Traverse - Sorry folks, unfortunately there isnt a lower rating that I can use for this place. If you enjoy ** style car buying with ignorant, disrespectful and unreliable sales staff (Johnathon) and being addressed as Bro, this is the dealer for you. If you add this with a disrespectful and ignorant finance manager that gets butthurt with your offer and then says he will crunch numbers and call you back and then doesnt call. (Ben I believe), Then hurry up and rush on in for your ** Car Buying Experience. The only thing I can say positive, is that Marcia, a woman I spoke with was absolutely fantastic as well as another salesman named Ben **. Too bad the others I dealt with werent this professional.
I purchased this rust bucket. See what you think about this brand new 2019 Chevy 2500 LTZ Duramax with 50 miles! The entire undercarriage is covered with rust, GM and the Halls Dealership have both agreed that this is normal! It’s far from normal and is called neglect on behalf of both parties! It’s hard to believe that they dont coordinate and get away with this type of business conduct! A service bulletin related to surface rust gets them out of giving me a truck without rust that wasn’t driven through road treatment! They have a lot of explaining to do! The truck is worthless and don’t let either parties get you like they got me! It’s absurd that they can get away with what they are doing! Just a heads up for anyone purchasing a new GM lookout for the undercarriage rust because the service bulletin is only available to the service department who doesn’t give a darn about anything but the sale and getting over on the consumer! I am not done with these folks!
I am writing to complain about Ed Morse Buick GMC Mazda Autoplaza 10133 US Highway 19 Port Richey, FL 34668 727-862-5411. My 81-year-old mother purchased her Buick from the dealership and returned for just motor oil and a cabin filter service at 34k miles and was sold more service than the automobile needed completed. The total bill should have come to $107.95 but she was sold and charged $657.06 for work that was not required. My mother trusted the service adviser and was misled the car needed service performed that would not be required until 150k miles based on GM standards. I feel Ed Morses service adviser took advantage of an elderly customer that relied on a trusted source for car service similar to relying on a financial adviser for advice. The company policy seems to be to recommend service to unaware elderly people concerned for their cars care and then not to offer customer coupons on their website for a savings. The 2012 Buick is new with only 34,387 miles and the service attendant sold automatic transmission fluid replacement, brake fluid replacement, induction service repair work and tire rotation on 3/31/2016 that when only an oil change was needed. The service attendant did not offer the customer coupons for free tire rotation with purchase of oil, $10 off cabin filter or the spend and save offer for the service performed for $75.Since I help manage my mother with her monthly bills and when I learned of a motor oil and filter charge of $657.06 I was beside myself and went to confront the Service Manager for taking advantage of an elderly lady just needing an oil and filter change. We discussed that the replacement of automatic transmission fluid, brake fluid and induction service was not required and my mom was misled into purchasing these services for a 34k mile car. The service manager affirmed she would be refunded with a check of $189.86 plus a free oil change. My expectation was to be credited $486.76 for work not required for misleading an elderly lady on service. At this time we have not received credit to resolve this issue and expect $486.76.
GM customer service and appreciation is so poor, I’ll never again purchase a GM product, after my husband and I have been loyal GM owners all our lives. On October 13th, we were in an unfortunate vehicle accident where my vehicle has been in the repair shop since October 17th. Since this time, parts for my vehicle repair are still in an “Unknown” status. The dealership escalated parts with GM as unavailable on October 31st, however after not being able to receive an ETA, I reached out to GM directly to escalate this concern on December 3rd. December 5th was able to speak to my case worker who reached out to the dealership on the same day. December 10th, I was finally provided an update from my case worker but only confirming all the details I already knew; My parts are unavailable, escalation has been file by dealership, and they would be sent when they are available (no ETA). The only detail he provided me that I wasn’t aware of was GM wasn’t the point of contact, my dealership was and there was nothing more GM could do. My case worker was unsympathetic in every conversation we’ve had, only re-iterating the whole country has been impacted by the GM strike. I then emailed the CEO of Chevrolet, Mary Barra, on December 10th, in which I received another case work. After patiently waiting, finally received a call December 15th from my new case worker. This one was worst than the last in regards to customer service. Saying the same thing as the last case worker about the GM strike and parts not available, only worse, she kept insisting my case first escalated on December 10th. I’m sure you can imagine how far my frustration had gone by this point. I requested to speak to her manager since it was obvious she was only performing the same actions as the last case worker, only more poorly. I was given a 24-48 hour turn around. Finally, December 22, got a call from her manager and again got nowhere, no update. Today is December 29 and GM still has no update on parts for my vehicle yet they are still pushing the same vehicles to production.
I purchased my vehicle in October, 2019. A couple months later, the vehicle experiences 4 recalls - 1 battery, 2 brake and 1 seat belt. After the dealer performed the recalls, the update broke several safety features such as front camera system, driver collision alerts, lane keep assist and whatever else. After attempting to fix the issue, they were unable to do so and escalated the case within GM. After GM was involved, the recommended solution was to replace the front camera system but the part was not in stock with no ETA of when it could be delivered. Over 20 days later, my brand new vehicle remains at the dealership unfixed due to the lack of a part. I escalated the issue with GM customer service and was assigned to someone named Victoria. Case #: **.After several exchanges with Victoria, nothing has been resolved. Victoria has assured me of several updates and working on the case, but has not been able to deliver for this vehicle. At this point, Ive explained my discomfort with the vehicle due to the variety of safety recalls and safety features that have gone awry. Ive explained I would like a comparable vehicle or a resolution that would restore my faith in a vehicle that seems to have had a bad run. Nothing has been done.
If you think you would like have a car that runs and gets you where you need to be, dont buy Chevrolet! If you do, and the repairs become so much that it would cost more than the car is worth (even if youre still paying on it), dont call GMs customer assistance center, cause they dont care. Do you have a warranty? Thats all they want to know. Too bad this thing wont let me leave these categories as ZERO stars.
Purchased new 2017 Chevy Volt with 24 miles on it 5/25/16. Drove from dealer 4 miles to home and into garage. Plug car in and did not use for 3 days. Returned to car and it was DEAD. Had towed to dealer and learned bad battery which was replaced and informed all was good. Drove two days while overnight charging. Then it sat for 4 days, no drive and plugged in. Car battery died again and is being towed to dealer a second time (100 miles & less than 15 days since taking delivery). Not pleased at all.
It would seem that General Motors doesn’t understand customer satisfaction. Before today, if you would ever ask me what car to buy, I would always recommend a GM vehicle. It will be long time before I do that again. Through my local dealer I ordered a part 2 weeks ago, for which they took my money to order it, the part has shipped to one of the GM warehouses, who doesn’t seem to have any urgency to release to the dealer from which I purchased it.Even the dealer has no luck requesting the release of the part and GM customer service says I have to work through the dealer to get the part released because once it has shipped from GM, GM is no longer responsible for it, even though, according to my local dealer, this warehouse 75 is the GM centralized distribution center. I am now waiting on a supervisor from GM customer service to call me back. 24 to 48 hours although in the meantime I am stuck driving on a cracked GM rim that could go out at any time. Being a GM owner all my adult life, this has me frustrated and has developed a true regret in standing by GM all these years. General Motors, you have lost a long term supporter.
My husband and I purchased a 2013 Chevy Malibu in Nov 2013. New car. No issues until April 2015. First, my Service Parking Brake light came on now and then. Took it in and they said it was a fuse box. Ordered a new one at our expense. Two days later the engine locked up. Got it towed and dealership ordered a new engine. Replacement engine was knocking after just being installed! Second new engine installed and runs fine. Still had Service Park Brake light on after replacing the fuse box. 250 miles later, engine started knocking! Took it back again and dealership left torque converter bolts loose. They claim to have tightened them and replaced the fuse block.Started a case with GM to get the car bought back because its obviously a lemon. No longer have the light on, but now the car idles rough and shifts terrible. GM will not allow the dealership to work on the car unless there is a code on their computer when they hook it up. Its not throwing any codes and no lights on the dash, so we wait. This is absurd! I have talked to a senior rep at GM several times, and she said we have to go through this and they will probably not ever buy it back. Not happy and never buying Chevy again!
Own a 2010 GMC Terrain. 65,000 miles on and already the transmission needs to be replaced. With thousands of complaints about this year and model you would think GM would recall these vehicles. NEVER BUY A GMC.
I contacted GM motors complaints department many times regarding a cracked passengers airbag section. The full airbag compartment is cracked perfectly around the bag and my car is showing the sign of service airbag. Clearly this is a manufacturing problem. However, they are refusing to pay the service to check to ensure the airbag is safe. I will hold GM responsible for ANY damage that happens if the airbag inflates for no reason since the compartment is obviously cracked and in a perfect shape around the bag. I am too scared to even have a passenger sit in my car in the front out of fear that it could inflate at anytime with no proper cause. They continually and in writing have refused to pay for the service. They will be paying a whole lot more than $100 if this bag opens up suddenly in my car.ZERO HELP from their staff. You have to contact them multiple times to actually receive a reply. Multiple emails to have someone call you back. They give you their number and extension but NEVER answer their calls. When they call you back if you are not available next to your phone, dont expect them to answer your call back even if its seconds later. NEVER EVER BUYING A GM CAR EVER IN MY LIFE AGAIN. Guaranteed am also telling everyone I know the same. They are great as long as you are signing your cheques over for them, otherwise, NO ONE CARES for your safety or anything else. Am sure this review will also be insignificant to them, but at least if anyone wants to know the truth about them, they can read all the different opinions of real people before deciding.
GMC pickup trucks - My oil pressure sending unit went bad at almost exactly 100000 miles and it cost me $500.00 to have it replaced at the dealer... also the steering sensor is bad because the stability and traction lights are on on the dash. The cost to fix that is also $500.00 to replace. Don’t you think that is bad for an 80 year old man to pay? Or don’t you people care?
I own a 09 Saturn Vue and have been pretty happy with it till now. My Saturn seems to be having transmission problems, the gears keep getting stuck which causing the engine light to come but after a day or two it goes away on its own. I experienced this problem now twice. Found a letter from Saturn stating some models had a fractured wave plate which would cause tranny to slip gears, low 3rd or 4th gear etc. I took my car to GM to drop-off service. Advisor tells me I would pay 120 if it wasnt the wave plate. I get a call today stating they need me to authorize a 1600 charge for them taking apart my transmission which it could be under warranty or it could be not. Long story short I would not authorize that since I was never told that when I first came in. The manager was arguing with my boyfriend and I left with my Saturn Vue being untouched. They didnt even care that my car could possibly have that issue and they would have to honor that at no charge. So they try to get money another way. Sneaky GM. Its sad they wont even look at the car thats a Product of their GM motors. Horrible!
Ive had my (purchased brand new in 2016) 2015 GMC Sierra held hostage at the local dealership for a total of 38 days so far while GMC makes up their mind to replace or completely rebuild the transmission. The decision has been made to rebuild so I can expect it to be in at least another couple weeks while parts are ordered. Huge inconvenience for my family as we had to cancel a family vacation which required the truck to tow our travel trailer. So far the truck has had 4-5 recalls and warranty replacement of the A/C unit and a radiator. The dealership Shop Manager told me GMC does not care about their customers if they can save themselves a few dollars. This will be the last GM product myself and my business will be purchasing. Go with Toyota if you want a quality product and service. I should never have made the switch. Shame on you GMC...
Complaint against (Liberty): this dealer is sucking my blood since four months I am paying almost $10,000 and my car is still not repaired. Every time they ask me to bring the car and they keep it for 2 or 3 weeks and I have to pay thousands of dollars and after I use the car for maximum three days all the problems bounce back into my face. It is not only that, the problems are getting more dangerous at the level that I cant take my kids with me in this car because of safety issues! I have trusted GM all my life but now I will never think about this company again and promise you that everyone I know has a full idea about what I am suffering. I am frustrated to the level that I want to put my car next to your show room with the billing history of the maintenance to show all the people that your company is not considering us as people and that our safety and our familys safety has never been considered by you. I will use all my contacts to tell everyone how I am suffering from your company using TV Radio and newspapers.
The 8 speed transmission is DANGEROUS! No other way to say it. The hesitations and stuttering issues are countless. After sharing my safety concerns, GM says its just how the transmission performs. Ive driven plenty of V8 engines with various transmissions and never had this issue. It is NOT SAFE! The fact that GM is just shrugging this off is quite concerning. They have offered no help with this problem and passed the responsibility to the dealer. 100% unhappy. I will never buy a GM again and will recommend to everyone I know to do the same. BEWARE!
I purchased a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado in February 2017 with only 26 test drive mileage. Fast forward to August 2019 the vehicle wouldnt go into drive or reverse so I had it towed to Bomnin Chevrolet in Dadeland service department. I have always kept up with my OnStar diagnosis report which never had any major concerns just alerts when we need oil change or minor stuff i.e. tire needs air. The vehicle had no accidents or major repairs ever done to it so Im not understanding how the service department tells me I need to pay $4,600 for new transmission. I called GM customer relations and advised them of this but 2 weeks after all the back and forth no one to this day has resolved anything. Im still being asked to pay my normal monthly truck payment and no one is even hearing my main concern which is if such a new vehicle (2017) needs a transmission it has to be a faulty transmission in the vehicle all along. I kept up with my oil changes, the vehicle never had any accidents or off the market parts placed on it.
I bought a brand new 2019 Chevy Silverado. My new $50,000 truck has been in for warranty 3 times. Truck has 1400 miles on it and has been in twice for check engine light and the last time was for a backup camera that is all static at night time. I have been told by the dealership that there is no fix for the camera and that all of the Silverados are doing it. Pretty sad when youre told that a safety feature on a brand new vehicle has failed and there is no fix. Also not happy about my time being wasted by taking the vehicle to the dealer and being told nothing can be done. Now Im being told by GM that they are waiting for details from the dealership and the dealership is telling me theyre waiting on GM. What a joke. Very very unhappy customer.
2016 Chevy Colorado with 36,000 miles needs new fuel pipe. Vehicle has been in repair shop since December 21. Several calls to customer service where they claim to have escalated the matter up the ladder but no results. GM can’t even give us an ETA on the needed part. Renting a means of transportation for an undetermined amount of time is unacceptable! Nobody has even attempted to offer a resolution. We will never buy another GM product!
I purchased a 2011 Chevy Impala LTZ from King Auto in 2012. It was certified pre-owned with very low mileage. It came with warranty coverage, but luckily I purchased additional extended warranty coverage. My first problem I had was the rack & pinion needing to be replaced. Then one day there was a knocking noise coming from the dashboard area, that turned out to be the acuator valves needing to be replaced. I had to go to the dealer twice about the acuator valves needing to be replaced. The acuator valves and rack & pinion problem was in 2013. For the next 3 years I did not experience any major problems, but in May of 2016 my L.E.D. readout display said SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL - SERVICE STABILITRAK!! Immediately after seeing that display, I experienced major engine failure and other mechanical problems. This happened without warning. My car was towed to Ourisman Chevy and they said that the engine needed to be replaced. The Chevy Impala only had 78,000 miles and it needed a new engine. My warranty plan paid for the engine to be replaced. Fast forward November 11, 2019. Im coming from visiting my mother. My Chevy is riding smooth, no problems. Then suddenly without warning, my check engine light begins flashing, the motor starts rumbling and losing power, and the display says SERVICE STABILITRAK - SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL. The same problem from 2013 happened again. Plus my Onstar daignostic report confirmed the same problems. The next day Im at the dealership, Ourisman Chevy, and after hours of diagnosing my car they bring me to the back of the shop, and the mechanic working on my car shows and tell me that my pistons were misfiring thousands of times and that the camshaft was damaged. He said there was no way to repair the damage and that the engine would have to be replaced. The service tech then tells me that its only going to cost $4,500 plus other expenses to get my Chevy back on the road. My car had 126,014 miles on the odometer. I want to say that my extended warranty company at the time replaced my engine with an engine that had 38,000 miles on it, and my car had 78,000 miles when the engine went bad in 2013. This means that the second engine only lasted for a little more than 48,000 miles. I want to also add that my neighbor and co-worker also owned the same Chevy, same year, and the also experienced the same exact problem with the rack & pinion, acuator valves and ultimately the STABILITRAK SYSTEM failing thereby causing all 3 of us disappointment in this product. My co-worker stated that his car had 126,000 miles when his STABILITRAK SYSTEM and other problems occurred. My neighbor and co-worker had to replace their Chevys too.On November 11, 2019 when my Chevy Impala died for the second time with the same problem, I did not have an extended warranty. I will never purchase another Chevy product. I am terribly disappointed, and I hope that they read this review. I also hope that they have corrected the STABILITRAK SYSTEM on the newer Chevy Impalas.
With only 8000 miles on my truck I already have about ten chips in my pain and the undercarriage is rusting. You would think that a truck this expensive would have good coatings on it. This truck will rust away on anyone who buys it.
Went to local dealer in which my whole family uses and wanted to get a new car. Btw... bought 2 cars in Lake Orion area 10, 11 years ago with great experience. Anyways, went to get a Malibu (sales) to my local dealer in which my whole family uses so I trusted it to be okay. Saw a Malibu Elite with a 29 something sale sticker that I wanted. Went to talk to a sales person at Vic Canever, said interested in the deal, we had to go look, he was unaware. He said that there was criteria. I didnt have a lease, a criteria BUT, he could get me close to that deal. Going thru his hour and a half of mumble jumbo I kept asking the price of the car. I got 29750 oh then better 29595! Great! Very excited! Well after 3 1/2 hours later very tired!Finance guy told me my payments. 417 month well I had a trade in on 3800 plus put down 5000 seemed high, so called the next day and the sales person claimed that the total of the car that I kept asking the amount included my trade in, Really! Bunch of **! Well when we went to the parking lot to look at the sticker sale, he didnt even know that I had a trade in or what it was, anyways ended up paying $3000 more than I thought. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I will never go back to Vic Canever in Fenton again! I know the deal that I got was average and almost just went somewhere else, but thought if I didnt purchase it then I would never get one (personal thing) anyways, love the car but cant enjoy until I get over this horrible experience! IT JUST SUCKS! THANKS VIC CANEVER IN Fenton!
This is what happened - On November 11, 2015 the tow truck took my truck to Rudolph Chevrolet which they diagnostic my truck with a non working cam and lifters. My truck is well maintained with 107k miles. I did my research and I realized there are many cases identical or similar to my situation. The dealership quote $4K repair (parts and labor). I placed a complain at GM customer service and they contacted the dealership and both decided they will help with $950 which doesnt look fair to me specially when I know there are other GM customers facing a similar case. Today 11/16/15 I called GM customer service and spoke to a unprofessional representative named Alicia. She denied to transfer me a supervisor stating the supervisor was not available since she was at lunch time. After arguing for another 8 minutes she place me on hold for over 10 minutes until the supervisor answered. Supervisor said there was nothing else to do. I asked her if there was somebody else I could talk to and she said NO, I asked her if there was another department I could place a complain, and she said NO. Supervisor said since my warranty expired there was nothing else she could do. Im only asking for help, I bought my truck in good faith and Im only asking to GM to provide help to a loyal customer.
I own a 2017 Escalade. Bought it brand new, right out of the showroom. Ive had nothing but problems with it since the beginning. Lost my brakes in 2017 with my disabled daughter in the car along. Recall for car. Shaking terrible, stalling, and Malouf Cadillac wouldnt help me. I have a long list of service issues on this vehicle. Made a formal complaint with GM and said they closed my case cause they werent able to get in touch with me, really!!!! Car is in dealer now for almost 12 weeks. Now to find out the car went on fire while they were servicing it. Called GM again to find out the case was closed and had to reopen complaint and now have to wait 3 days for claim to open before I can speak with anyone. This is was $85,000 vehicle get you!!!! Still waiting and furious!!!!
I was contacted by GM to extend the 3 yr warranty on my Chevy today. Forwarded to a man named Brad who eventually quoted me the price. I declined as I am a solo parent and unable to afford this additional coverage that would be $495/down plus 12x$274/month. Brad says he understands because he is a single dad. I reiterated that I am a solo parent--not the same as single, which generally means a child is shared by two parents. At this point, Brad explains his ex is in jail and says hes a single dad too - before anything else can be said, he gets nasty with me, adding, That was the rudest thing Ive ever heard in my life and I dont even want to help you... before hanging up on me. Brad, I still dont have that kind of extra money and am still a solo parent. Sorry to counter that what you just exhibited is a total lack of understanding and added aggression. No, thank you, GM.
I have purchased 25 or more GMC vehicles. I now have a Lemon. The worst part is that the dealership is not willing to assist. They have told me that they rotated my tires to fix the problem and the magic marker dots were still on the front so they dont do that. They also told me that they road tested several miles and the trip meter showed.04 tenth of a mile. I was told by the service overall supervisor that the problem was GM has a fault in the engine going from V8 to V4 at lower speeds and the vehicle will not ride well. I was told by GMC Corp that they would have a factory Rep ride with me and go over the problem and it never happened. The dealership will fix an employees vehicle with fast action but a customer has to beg and plead. Paying $48,000 dollars for a vehicle that is no fun to drive is poor and unacceptable. They are not even honoring their warranty by fixing the Lemon. My question is why does the customer have to be lied to at all phases of conversation and just fix it.
I have a 2018 Chevy Trax awd. On 8/4/21 my engine died. We assume as they really havent told us yet what is wrong. We had the car towed to our dealer Outten Chevy in Hamburg PA. Immediately they started coming up with reasons to void the 5 year, 60,000 mile power train warranty. They have used several excuses from wrong oil filter installed even though according to websites it was the right one, to low oil even though it was fine until the incident and then started leaking oil on way to dealer on a flatbed. It is now 11/15/21. More than 3 months and my car is sitting at the dealership and we are yet to hear from GMAC. We have sent them a certified letter, when we call we leave voicemails and cannot get ahold of anyone. The dealership told us the tube to the turbo melted but would not say if that caused the engine issue. They offered to replace it at a cost to us but said may not fix the issue. Sounds like a flaw to me but GMAC is not recognizing this or covering under their warranty. How can a 3.5 year old car engine blow when we maintained it and was driven with care. I cannot believe that we are having this much trouble for a company to stand behind their product. Not only is the dealership doing nothing but GMAC doesnt seem to want to do anything either. I work two jobs and have had to rely on friends and family to borrow cars as they could not even provide a loaner car to me. I am still paying payments and insurance on a vehicle that has been sitting on a dealers lot still waiting to be diagnosed because they are not looking into it since they cant seem to get it covered under the warranty. What is wrong with this world with businesses not standing behind their products and doing the right thing. We come from a long list of Chevy/gmac owned vehicles from a 41 chevy coupe to a 2020 Gmac Denali and numerous in between and never ever have had an issue like this. I simply cannot believe it, but it is causing us to rethink about buy Chevy/gmac. I know I read reviews and I hope that this may help someone else in the future when considering to buy a Chevy/gmac be careful cause they may not stand behind their product. As for me, I will be continuing my fight for them to do whats right and fix my car.
2014 Chevy Captiva key stuck in ignition. My key cannot be removed from the ignition of my car when it is in park due to the same engineering defect addressed by GMs special coverage adjustment which covers millions and millions of cars - not including mine. It is costing me $1100.00 in parts and labor to fix this issue which has drained my battery and left me stranded on many occasions. I should not have to pay for GMs ignition design defect. GM should be held accountable for ANY of its vehicles exhibiting ignition and shifting defects, as it is already well known for causing deadly accidents due to engineering oversights. I am hoping to receive cash assistance from Chevy to cover the labor.
Purchased my car in late 2011. Battery went bad December 2012. They replaced the battery - supposedly with a new 48-month A/C delco battery. This morning I come out to a dead battery. I called to find out if they will replace it since obviously its not even 24 months and this thing is dead. No. The manager will not honor the warranty on the battery because it was installed during my warranty under the bumper to bumper. How convenient. Upon closer inspection, the battery does not have a date, which leads me to believe that they installed either an old battery or just did not even install one at all. Manager told me that if you have a battery installed UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, it voids the batterys warranty. Does this make sense to anyone????? Sure doesnt to me. Like I said, I have a feeling they put an old used battery in my car.
Hello! I own a 1997 Park avenue with 2 front broken seat belts! They are quite literally falling apart! Plastic pieces have broken off, the drivers side belt wont retract and the passenger belt doesnt lock. I took it to the dealership for recall replacements and they told me that they were replaced already by the previous owner. I find this incredulous considering I have own a Lasabre as well as another Park avenue and never had any issues and they were both older vehicles. The cost for replacement is $350/belt and I have no assurance that the replacements arent just like the ones I have. GM is losing a LIFETIME Buyer in me!Of course they are trying to lose the stodgy old man image according to the news...
I own a 2013 GMC Terrain. The car was part of a lawsuit against GM for excessive oil consumption. My car was 4qt low on oil, NO oil light ever came on. The car now needs $2,500 in repairs and GM is refusing to pay for it although the lawsuit states they are responsible for it and are to pay for it! Myself and my family have always driven GM vehicles. I’m the last one in the family left driving one and now I know why. They do not stand behind their products and do not support their customers. Customer service from GM just keeps say, We are working on this. Give us two days and we’ll call you. It’s been 3weeks!!! I’m paying for a rental out of my pocket and making a car payment. GM is useless. DO NOT BUY ONE!
Where do I begin? GM Canada is a joke. I bought a 2019 GMC elevation blacked out edition in summer of 2019 and the first 500 km the tailgate started falling on me for no reason so I went to Prouse Motors in Sault Ontario to get warranty for the tailgate. They got ahold of gm Canada and they told them they will not fix the tailgate BC there was no known issues with them yet (forgot to mention I had my utility trailer on the back and the jack stand scratched and dented the ** outta the tailgate) so basically they said I was ** and the only way I would get a new tailgate is if it drops when someone from prouse motors was driving it. What a joke right? So after 4 times they had my truck it finally dropped. Took close to 5 months to get a new tailgate after that and Ive been back 3 times because of the paint job on it and tailgate being loose. While all that crap was going on I started to have transmission problems and its been to the dealer many many times and still to this very day its still not fixed. Then at 4000 km the steering column locked up on me and they had to put a new column in and the speakers on the passenger side of the truck went all ** on me. Ive either called or been to the dealership every week since I own this truck this truck has been nothing but a nightmare. I tried to plead my case and to get gm to buy the truck off me and put me in something else BC the truck is a LEMON. The only thing they would do is give me 2000$ towards a trade in so they expect me to lose my ** on the trade in and Pay more monthly for a plain Jane p.o.s I never in my life had such piss poor service than gm and the dealer. I will NEVER in my lifetime own another gm product. I will go buy a Ford or a Dodge before Ill even think about gm piss poor trucks... Before you buy a truck from gm I recommend take the time and read all the review. The only review I noticed that have 5 stars is the people who only owned the truck for couple weeks to a month. Steer away from GMC or Chevy. Dont make the same mistake I did. One pissed off GMC truck owner
I bought a 2015 GMC Sierra a year ago brand new. It have paint chips everywhere on it and they told me I had to fix it at my own expense. It has 18500 miles on it. I have 2 other GMC here and they are over 10 years old and they dont have any paint problems. They told me when I called in that they would have somebody from the dealership close to me contact me to take it in and have it looked at. Never heard from dealership and CC call and said there is nothing wrong with paint, second thoughts on never buying another GM product.
I own 1 2015 Cadillac Srx and just purchased a 2020 Cadillac Escalade esv and will never purchase another gm vehicle again. I had a recall for for headlights on my 2015 and when I took it in had to pay for it which was no problem even though it was $1900 for 2 headlights but I was to be reimbursed from GM for a recall on the headlights. Then I contacted GM and they told I had the paperwork for the recall and they said it has expired and now I just have to pay the $1900 out of pocket. This is completely unprofessional especially during a pandemic. I live in Illinois and the whole state has been shut down pretty much since March besides for a few months. I did not read fine print on back of letter real small that said it expired. I think GM should recognize this recall and reimburse someone who has spent over 100k on vehicles from Cadillac in the last 4 years. Headlights that cost that much money should never go bad unless damaged.
2008 gmc denali radio control tire censor. What a stupid total waste of money. Cost me another 300.00 to get the stupid aluminum junk parts replaced. I never seen such a total stupid unnecessary device in my life. I had one tire worked on 3 times and they found nothing wrong but it still leaked. Most tire dealers drop the nut off the sensor and let it drop into the tire not wanting to tell you it cost another $80.00 a tire to fix the problem the junk sensor. I happen to get an honest dealer and explained the stupid engineering retarded situation. Thanks for the stupid extra expense. I grew up when a car had an ignition switch and an oil gauge and was happy. I own a tire gauge and can see a low tire that does not cost an extra $300.00 from my social security.I called gmc customer service 5 times and got nothing but the run around. I was disconnected and put on hold several times. Rep 1 was foreign, could not understand me. Rep 2 I was disconnected. Rep 3 wanted me to spell sensor three times, said he had never heard of that type of auto part. Rep 4 asked for my first name then put me on hold then rep 5 asked for my last name, then my address and I said 6867, only my house number then she asked me to spell it. So I said six eight six seven. Then she started to explain why I had to spell. I never got my whole address out she kept talking over me. The whole experience was like a comedy routine saturday night live. Smartest man movie.
We purchased a new GMC Terrain Auto 2011 and a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze in November 2011. We had trouble with 2011 GMC Terrain, 6 speed transmission, not shifting properly and getting only 24mpg on the highway and 22 around town. This was reported to GM Head Quarters in February 2012 and GM complaint people called me several times, but they tried to convince me that I expected too much. I told them all I wanted was to have the 6 speed transmission shift properly, and then I would probably get better mileage. The service department at Fox Chevrolet in Negaunee, Michigan tried it out and they insisted that there was nothing wrong. They said I was probably trying to compare my GMC Terrain with my 2011 Chevrolet Cruze, which shifted real good and got 39mpg on highway and 34mpg around town all the time. They also told me that after I put another 5,000 miles on my GMC Terrain, it would probably be better. We now have over 14,000 miles on it and I am complaining once again. The main reason is gas is so expensive and GM advertises 30mpg on highway and about 26 to 28mpg in town. So my complaint is false advertising, on the part of GM. So, I am requesting that you correct this problem. Thank you. Also, I have been a GM customer for over 25 years.
GM customer care and service department are awful. On May 20th, I purchased a 2016 Camaro 2SS with 2700 miles on it. By May 30th it was acting up and in the shop for warranty work. It is now June 16th, and the dealership still has my car. And that is GMs fault. After a week the dealership was stumped and began requesting assistance from GM. After two weeks of still being stumped, the dealership began requesting a field engineer, since they had not been able to diagnose the issue in over two weeks. GM will not give them an answer. Its a less than one year old car with 2700 miles on it and its been in the shop now for three weeks straight and counting, dont you think at this point its an issue worth expediting? Its not an old car. It has very low mileage and should not have any issues. Its an almost $50,000 car for goodness sake. But in GM fashion they wont move until my attorney contacts them about a lemon law suit, and a civil suit for car payments, registration, taxes, loss of use, and being overall terrible to work with. Oh well, I guess GM doesnt care about another lemon on their record and another lawsuit lost.
I own a 2017 Equinox, with less than 65,000 miles on it, so out of warranty by mileage by less than 2,000 miles but by year covered until 2021. My car broke down on the highway, and after getting it to a Chevy dealership I was told that I need to completely replace my engine! I had been driving my car for a solid 30 minutes before my car broke down, with no warning lights, or indication that something was wrong. I receive the diagnostic reports every month and in the last report sent to me in January nothing indicated that something was wrong with my engine. The only reason I called GM to see what they could do was because I was not far out of my warranty, I had never had a single issue with my car or major work done, and till that point been very satisfied with GM. Since I was out of warranty by mileage GM refused to help cover the cost ($5,000 just for the engine and $2,400 service and labor), and that the best thing that could be offered was what the dealership offered which was $300 off, and a $250 mail and rebate! When I asked to speak to someone above a Senior advisor, they told me that no one is able to talk to a district manager, or regional manager since theyre traveling to dealerships all the time and dont have time to talk. So I just had to swallow the fact that I had to pay $7,400 out of pocket. I love my car, and when I got my car back I was so happy! BUT... I am fearful that as I continue to drive this car, or a GM product I am setting myself up for another massive expense. I will not be speaking highly of GM products and I will never be purchasing a GM product ever again. This is a large large large Corporation, and I did not go to customer service with a car that had 100,000+ miles or with a car that was 5+years old. I came to you with a 2-year-old car and with less than 65,000 miles on it and received no help, or even met half way! If anyone is looking for advice or on the fence about making a purchase of a GM car Do not go through with it.
I purchased a used 2013 Buick LaCrosse. Never again will a GM product come into my house. This POS has been at the repair shop 13 times in the past year. I have contacted the dealer and GM and all I get is lip service. GM could care less about customer service and customer satisfaction. I have tried to be a reasonable person, but am beyond that now. Just know 13 is a unlucky number and if you decide to purchase a Buick keep that number in your mind. Do not purchase a GM Buick.
This is terrible. I had my 2019 GMC Denali 2500HD in for an accident repair since August 23rd. Have use my one month insurance rental up and have been without a truck which I use to pull my boat to make a living. I have used and exhausted all remedies which include calling my insurance company to get extension, Going to the dealer and calling GMC to get something to drive with a no from each of them. They cant give me a timeline for a part to come in. Its not my fault GM is on strike and Im being held hostage for this part. I have bought 3 trucks in 3 years and will never buy a GM again. Another note hit a concrete pole doing around 40 mph. Broke the windshield with my head and the airbag didnt deploy. 18k in damages which includes frame damage. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do.
Leased a 2019 Colorado crew cab long box 4x4 on Dec 12, 2018. Fuel gauge has not worked properly since taking possession. Has been back to dealer 2 times now with no resolve. Truck has now developed a nasty rumbling sensation (like driving over rumble strips) at all speeds with it being more noticeable at 55 or above. Dealer states that this is due to the wrong transmission fluid being used in the 8 speed transmission but they (dealership) does not have the required tools to drain and replace fluid. Gas gauge issue is still not resolved. Requested a GM buyback of vehicle three weeks ago. (Truck has under 1000 miles on it) Have finally heard back from GM and they agree to buy back the truck. Now I have to figure out what to buy. Note: I also leased a 2019 Traverse LT for my wife the same day. I am thinking that these will be my last GM products.
Small bump in the front deploys driver airbag. We have been waiting since May 10-2019. Until now the drivers airbag part is not available. More than 5 months waiting for a 2019 Cadillac xt4 drivers airbag. Completely unacceptable. Will definitely not recommend it. Not reliable. We still keep paying the car payment and insurance without able to use the car. Cadillac Dealership is not doing anything as well.
I bought a brand new Chevy Malibu LT, and it has been downhill ever since I bought the car! The engine has been re built twice within 20,000 miles. The last incident almost cost me my life and the life of my 16 year old daughter. There has been no resolution, GM wont take the blame and replace my car, the dealership wont take the blame and offers no help! DO NOT BUY A CHEVY! YOUR LIFE MAY DEPEND ON IT!
After 83,000 miles on my Hummer 3 the head went out. The head has the same issue I was told by the dealer that the recalled 5 cylinder canyon head was having when GM recalled it. The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. Just goes to show you why I will never buy GM the rest of my life and will make sure as many people as I know will know of this issue.
I purchased a 2011 GMC Yukon with 82K miles from Carmax. I paid $29K for this vehicle. This had the 5.3L engine & 4WD which is needed here in MI. At 125K miles the transmission gave out - no prolonged degradation, just failure over 1-2 days. I purchased a remanufactured transmission costing $3K (including installation). Adding more injury, GM charged me $200 to flash the transmission. Then at 140K miles, StabiliTrak and Traction Control codes appear along with the check engine light. The engine started running rough at idle with slightly reduced gas mileage. I changed the plugs, plug wires and coil to no avail. Analytics would show random misfire for cylinder 8. Compression check showed the cylinder was 60 psi low. Leak-down test showed the problem was either the camshaft or a lifter, meaning engine replacement. Ive taken good care of this vehicle with regular service and am extremely disappointed I couldnt get more mileage out of the engine. BTW, this is the 2nd GMC where both the engine and transmission had to be replaced at similar mileage (a 1985 GMC Jimmy). GMC is not the Professional Grade they claim to be, but the opposite. I will never purchase another GMC vehicle.
I have had 3 repairs to the heads on my 2008 Chevy impala with in 15000 miles. My vehicle has 38000 miles. Purchased as a gm certified vehicle with major guard service contract from gm. GMm customer service is very inconsistent. Will not provide info requested. Hung up on me during a conversation. Did not resolve the problem. There is much more. Very unhappy!
I have a 2014 Chev Sonic, all 4 wheels are rusted, I went to the GM dealer and he told me that it was poor quality metal because they were made in Korea. Needed to contact GM. After 2 weeks of no news, I contacted GM customer service. They would check into it, 3 weeks later they told me there was no warranty but the dealer would paint them. The dealer said we would order the paint. That was in late June. They have still not contacted me. I went back last week to the dealer because the top center of the rubber steering wheel is worn smooth, not cover and no explication as why. I worked for GM dealers for 37 years and have seen a lot that was passed under warranty that should not have. The car is under 3 years old and less than 50,000 kilometers. I was a GM man all my life but that is over now. Never again.
I own a 2013 Chevy Equinox that was part of a class action suit for excessive oil consumption. The suit was settled, but Poage Chevrolet and GM will not honor the warranty. The vehicle was under 120,000 miles when the suit was filed but is over 120,000 by the time the suit was settled. According to the settlement, they should be repairing the engine. However, they are saying that because the vehicle is now over 120,000 miles they will only pay half. I also had a $1,000 repair I paid before this suit was filed. Im not sure how they would expect miles not to be put on during the 5 months of litigation - I still had to drive it. Im disappointed in GM for not honoring the repairs and the dealership, Poage Chevrolet, for not advocating for their customer in this situation.
At a dealership visit in October of 2016, they said they were going to do a recall. I thought that was good, hadnt recalled seeing a recall notice in the mail but found it later on at home in the pile. So after reading it, I realized they didnt follow the protocol for performing the safety recall. They skipped replacing a part which it clearly states needed replacement on my specific truck. So I called the dealer and just asked if they actually replaced the part or just updated the one currently in the truck. They said no, no replacement just an update.I left it at that, as I had a horrible experience dealing with the service manager on a separate issue but on the same day the truck got the recall done. After inquiring at another dealer I was told they werent able to even look into it because GM already paid ** dealership to do the work. So a call to the 1800-customerscomelast folks at the customer care center really ties it all together as they now know Im driving with a known defective airbag pretensioner. To add more to it, the district manager has put a me on a blacklist at what seems to be every dealer within 100 miles. So where to go for warranty on pile of crap??? SCUMBAGS.
Would like to any other people have experienced this? Contacted GM and was told it passed warranty so it was my problem. Been buying new GM trucks for 35 plus years and could not even get anyone in management to discuss the matter. Requested warranty manager information and was informed that could not be given out. Anjelica dismissed my complaint and request by knowing how I feel? Now I have a vehicle that should be very valuable as a trade in that has lost most of its value due to a GM defect in its process.Working as a supplier for many years GM finds any defect products from a supplier they put them on third party inspection at the suppliers cost even if it puts them out of business. This is in stark contrast to Honda for example who send their best engineers from the company to help solve any issues with no cost to the supplier. Tried to find a place on the GM website to ask this but guess they did not provide that so people would not see their lack of quality control.
I am having transmission acceleration problems that no mechanics or machine can diagnose. They can tell by driving the car, but cant come with a solution. Just keep telling that I have to wait for the check engine to come. But that could be too late and costly. The thought of waiting to be stranded on the highway is scary. I dont know what to do or trust at this point.
I bought a brand new Chevy Traverse LTZ in 2012. By 2014, I started having issues with the navigation. Fast forward to the end of 2017, and I have 8 officially documented cases of the dealership and I going rounds with GM trying to fix the same issue. This does not include extra trips I made to the dealership with hopes of rectifying the issue. Aside from when the navigation DID work, and would send me off the highway for no reason, just to get back on the highway, or not showing me on any road when I clearly was, or street names not coming up in older neighborhoods, or turning me on streets that didnt exist... The entire system is now inoperable. I get an error on the screen that either says, Map Disc Error, Disc Check in Progress, or Disc Error, to name a few. Most of the time you cant push any buttons on the screen because they dont work, or you cant turn the navigation screen on at all. I had 2 CDs eaten by bad radios too. One of them went to GM when the dealership sent the radio to them. I had no problems dealing with the dealership and I realize that it is not their fault that GM puts faulty parts in their machines, but as a consumer I am OUTRAGED and I just want a working navigation that I paid thousands extra for in the vehicle. It has barely worked even for a short period of time. I went to the dealership 8 times and got a receipt for services... But that does not include additional trips there to have something installed or for a new diagnostic. I have had my vehicles radio replaced 3 times and the map disc replaced 4 times.Every time I call GM Infotainment, the reps are unknowledgeable, unintelligent, and rude. As someone else said on ConsumerAffairs.com, they are not there for the consumer... Every single one I have spoken to shrugs off issues, doesnt know anything about GM products, and makes it clear that they are just answering that phone for a paycheck. Now when I try to talk to anyone, they always resort to, Go to the dealership. We need a new diagnostic. They dont have a diagnostic from any of my other visits because the dealership doesnt have the correct equipment to test something like this; Its GM parts... They dont make parts. Its a problem with a system or software or something they dont know anything about. But GM also states they cant use any of my previous other diagnostics because the error code could have possibly changed by now. They also cant tell me if it had changed in the 3 years Ive been dealing with this. Ive tried talking to what I thought was the legal department of GM, only to find out that everything goes through the Infotainment customer service reps... Who need training on customer service... Who always revert to demanding I go to the dealership for a new diagnostic and that THATS their resolution to the issues. They cant tell me if there is a resolution to the problem, if other people have experienced the same issues, or that there is anyone else in ALL OF GM who I could talk to about this. Ive demanded the costs of the navigation system to be reimbursed for the vehicle so I can purchase a GPS, and would also settle for a new satellite radio system so I dont have to deal with the map discs... But I cant get anywhere since everything reverts back to, go to the dealership for a new diagnostic. I have moved out of state where I was dealing with this, so going to a dealership for something they have no reports of or control over will cost me. I dont think so. This is NOT customer service. I am posting this on ConsumerAffairs, BBB, and mailing it to GM (PO Box 33170, Detroit MI 48232-5170 for those of you who cant find the address). Next steps in the process are getting my own attorneys if I dont hear from the ConsumerAffairs attorneys first.
I have a 2005 Pontiac g6 and I received a letter saying my car was on recall for the power steering, which I was glad to find that out cause my steering has been messed up since I got the car. But heres my problem: sometimes my power steering light will come on across my dash and sometimes it dont and whats wrong is I lose complete steering and it jerks really bad, and I dont have no control over it. When I drive down the highway and it does it, Im lucky that Im able to pull over. When I called gmc and told them the problem they said that has nothing to do with my power steering recall, has to be something else. All I would like is answer or something. Im risking not only my life but my sons life driving this car the way it is. It also will shut off on me when the steering goes out and then dont wanna start back up. My headlights will fade and flash too.
Bought brand New in 2011, my wife LOVES it. 2016, Exhaust Manifold & Catalytic Converter cracked. My wife brought it in. Dealer, Goldstein Buick GMC; Albany, NY; was going to charge $3000+ to replace. They Told her there was NO recall with this fix. A third party garage did the work for $1500. I called GMC and was told would NOT be reimbursed because work was done at third party garage. The Rep told me, Wait a Minute, the garage is not Warranted. THE TRUCK is Warranted! Plus, we just saved you Half the Price for the job! Goldstein Buick GMC was going to charge us over $3000! I looked up online and found 10 recalls with the Terrain. My wife found a letter claim form in her glove box. We filled it out and sent it in with the receipt. Still waiting for a refund. One week later; The Transmission & Transfer Case catastrophic, Mechanical Breakdown. Manufacture Defect. 55,000 miles!! GMC-JUNK. Fighting again.
I’m so disappointed and it’s too much to type so long story short. Paid $75k for a vehicle that I purchased out of town. 209 miles later I’m stuck. Customer service guy said he’s in the Philippines. Can’t get any higher and someone will contact me within 2 business days. Can’t get a loaner and it’s a part on back order that they don’t know when it will be in. My last GM product. I will write reviews and blogs on every platform I can!
I own a 2011 Chevy Cruze, worst car ever. I have an issue with it, of course who doesnt, and when I called customer service to speak to someone they keep directing me to Katrina **. I have NEVER spoke to this women before and she calls me back and leaves me an extremely rude and aggressive voicemail. So on top of having problems with my car, now I am treated very poorly by GM. I will never own a GM car again.
I bought a 2010 Equinox. After I bought it I noticed that there is rust in the bottom of all the doors. Also the paint is starting to bubble up under all the doors. I contacted Chevrolet customer services. They assigned my complaint to a senior adviser. The senior adviser contacted the dealer where I got the car from and made an appointment for them to look at the car. The dealer recognizes that there was a problem however they declined to do anything about it because according to them even though there’s a problem the rust havent ate through the doors yet. I did some researches and there is other customers complaining about the same issue. I’m an very unhappy customer. I paid 16,700 dollars for this car and the car have a factory defect that they wont address. The dealer claim it will fixed it if I come up with 3,100. I feel like I have been ripped off.
Buying a GMC is the biggest mistake ever. Their customer service is nonexistent & GM financial will ruin your credit. I’ve always paid ahead & am a year ahead now. They refuse to correct their mistakes - they just lost six figures in new personal & business truck sales. I have experienced terrible service from day 1 with GM - they do not care about people once you buy it. Will buy Ford from now on.
The brakes on my 2017 Buick Envision squeak loudly when backing up and I only had 12,000 miles when this first occurred. I have taken the car twice to Suburban Buick GMC of Troy, Michigan and they said GM is aware of the issue but will not repair since it is life threatening. GM has notified all dealers that this is caused by performance brakes that have dust buildup. The service person stated they have had hundreds of complaint across all GM cars that have these performance brakes. I have purchased dozens of GM cars in the past but will consider other car companies in the future. Has anyone experienced this problem with other car manufacturers?
I purchased a truck from GM on June 20th. I was told that I would have the registration in a week or two because it had to be signed and go through their legal department. (Too long to begin with but whatever). So I pay at the dealership Brett Chevrolet in Saint John NB and I waited. After two weeks I call and Im told its still not ready. I call a few more times still nothing and yesterday July 11 their business department tells me they have the papers and now have to send them to motor vehicle and that it will be ready in a day or two. So again I wait. I decided to call today and check and the original guy is now on vacation and a different fella tells me they just got the paperwork from GM today and he will send it tomorrow and theres nothing I can do to speed it up. Needless to say its difficult to purchase a vehicle from them or rather get a registration from them for the vehicle that you purchased. The whole inter-departmental finger pointing dont work for me and GM needs to get their .... together on making these processes run smoother. I mean, I cant even legally drive a truck I bought almost a month ago because I dont have a registration, really?
I purchased a used 2010 Traverse from Peruzzi GMC. When I test drove it, it was fine. We go to leave the dealer with the vehicle and the check engine light was on! The salesman tells me, oh its probably just a gas cap, drive it and it will go away. I refused to take the vehicle without having something in writing. Good thing because we left and the light never went off. A few days later I had my wife bring it back and the code was for the timing chain! Dealer had no choice but to replace it being as I had it in writing although they act like they did us a favor...Apparently they changed the chains and never bothered changing the oil which had bits and pieces of debris from failing pieces in it. Not even 4,500 miles after purchasing the engine seized without any warning with my wife and 4 kids in the car on our way home. GM denied any responsibility and only went to the shop to try and find reasons as to why they wouldnt help. The service manager told me the motor failed because I didnt change the oil. Mind you, when replacing the chain the dealer should have changed the oil and didnt... Even still, the manual says to change it according to the light or if it has gone 1 year. Neither situations occurred. The oil life was still at 74%. I ended up paying $6500 out of pocket to have the motor replaced. Then a fuel injector fails and renders the vehicle un-drivable 4 miles after getting a new motor. Then the A/C stopped working. Only hot air. Dealer tells me its probably the evaporator which is behind the dash and is another few thousand to fix! After some diagnostic and research I found it to be the blend door actuator, a $50 piece and 30 minutes of my time. Huge difference and Im not the GM mechanic... THEN a coil pack goes bad. Need to remove the intake plenum to get to it. Another $330. Few days later, CEL AGAIN! Now its the catalytic converter and the dealer wants THOUSANDS to fix! The rear wiper stopped working, had to replace 2 front speakers. Since the purchase, I have spent just as much money fixing it as the vehicle cost me. GM takes no responsibility since I refused the extended warranty through some 3rd party company which Ive dealt with before and denied every claim submitted. Its a joke. GM and Chevrolet should be ashamed as a company with these products representing them. Ive owned 17 cars in my time and this is by far the WORST vehicle I have every purchased. Worse than my BMW 745Li which is one of its most problematic vehicles! I will NEVER purchase another Chevy and will recommend any and everyone to do the same. They produce junk vehicles with junk parts and force the consumer to pay for their cut corners! While enduring all of these issues Ive done a lot of research and come to the conclusion that most people who own these vehicles experience these problems which SHOULD lead to a class action suit. Even the re-manufacturing company where I purchased my motor said that motor is their top seller. They move more of those 3.6L v6 motors for GM than all others combined!
I had 49,500 miles in my Chevy Silverado and had a catastrophic engine failure. A lifter collapsed and damaged the camshaft when I took off from a streetlight. No engine should fail with less than 50,000 miles on it. GM offered to pay 10% of the repair costs which is inadequate given this engine is obviously a lemon and is unreliable from the factory. Taking a several thousand dollar loss and going back to Toyota. I should have never strayed from Toyota. Because GM does not stand behind their defective engine, I also sold my Tahoe and purchase a Tacoma. I was also able to convince a family member to not purchase a Corvette. I will also work to convince as many people as I can to not purchase a GM product.
I bought a new engine $2200.00 from GM. I noticed damage on the block after installing at my expense. It should never have been sold. They say they will replace it. I have to remove and install it again at my expense. I was told it didnt matter if I put it in or the dealer, the same warranty applies. GM sucks. I am finished with them.
