I have a 10 year old 48” range, priced at approx 8k+. About two years ago, I had to replace all of the interior shelves, at my cost, because they had rusted so badly they would no longer pull out. This year, all of the plastic on the front knobs have puckered and bubbled off, presumably from the heat of the door being opened when the range is on. Customer service has basically said oh well, and has refused to replace the knobs. After replacing all the shelving I certainly won’t pay for new knobs too. The customer service in New Zealand is certainly not what we are used to in the U.S. For the price of this range, they should stand behind their products unconditionally. As I told them, I have had KitchenAid ranges last longer with no problems. So, bottom line, if you are looking for a range with all the bells and whistles, be sure to go for a U.S. company! Oh, and the range has never kept accurate temperatures to boot!

This is our first purchase with Fisher and Paykel and they were recommended to me by the home builder. We built a new house and got a dish drawer. I like it a lot. Its perfect. Its a tiny dish drawer and works great. If you have parties or the holiday season, it cleans everything really well and its quiet. I cant think of anything wrong with it.

ERIC ** did some warranty work on my refrigerator. He was on time and explained what he was going to be doing. He cover his feet and was very careful to cover the area he was working in and was very clean. He was polite, neat and efficient. He did a wonderful job of getting everything done right the first time and we were delighted. Obviously knew his job and very customer satisfaction oriented. I would certainly recommend your company and him to all my friends or anybody looking for service.

In 2008, I purchased a washer/dryer from F&P. The person talked me into an F&P when I really wanted something else. Never hearing about this product, he convinced me it’s the best out there and their biggest seller. Boy, he was wrong! The washer sounds like a jet airplane when it spins. Sometimes, I have to spin them twice to get all the water out. The bearings in the dryer have been replaced 2-3 times, the thermostat, sensor module, and central module. Each time was at least $100 or more for a total of 5-6 times. I contacted a representative and was given a case number. Today, I called because the bearings are going again. That means another service charge. The next step will be the curb!

Refrigerator model #E522BLX - I bought this fridge 4 years ago from SEARS Canada because my 35 year old never repaired Amana fridge suddenly broke down. I had a problem finding a fridge that would fit in the space built around the Amana and wasnt in a position to renovate the kitchen to accommodate a new fridge. I didnt know anything about the Fisher Paykel brand, and unfortunately, relied on the Sears appliance specialists knowledge and honesty.I was advised that the fridge had a very good 5 year warranty and excellent customer service and Sears would also stand behind the brand should anything go wrong. I bought it because it was the only fridge, at the time, that could fit in the space and I paid about $2,000 for it. Well 2 months ago the fridge started to make a noise that sounded similar to the noise I heard when my Amana fridge broke down. That was related to a compressor problem. The noise has steadily worsened and its driving me up a wall.I found out from Sears Canada that they no longer carry the Fisher Paykel brand (I wonder why) and therefore cant provide me with any service. When I contacted the FP customer service # I was directed to someone in New Zealand and I quickly concluded that their so called excellent customer service was totally false. I further learned that the fridge I bought has been discontinued (I wonder why). The extent of their assistance was to provide me with service repair contacts in the U.S. Anyone I contacted in Toronto is unwilling to service the model. It is now Christmas and I am now out of a fridge and $2000. FP doesnt give a damn. Although they did not outwardly admit it but I think they knew that there was an embedded defect with their fridge and therefore discontinued it without advising customers like me.There should have been a recall notice and offer to replace the model or at least make some effort to repair problems without costing the customer big bucks and aggravation. Do not ever buy anything manufactured by Fisher Paykel. And dont buy any appliance from Sears. Their appliance specialists are not specialists and are trained only to make a sale at the customers risk. They will not ensure that: your satisfaction continues long after your initial purchase. This is the statement that they include in their brochure.

When we moved into our new home in May of 2008, we had to leave behind our dryer. As wed had good luck with a Fisher & Paykel washer, we just assumed that a DE09 dryer would be a natural conclusion. What a mistake! It has been a lemon since the day we put it in the basement. It constantly turns off during a dry cycle and takes forever (when it decides to actually run) to dry a load of clothes. Were not talking a large load either. We are vigilant about keeping the vents cleaned out, even going so far as taking the tube from the wall and cleaning it out from both the outside vent and the inside vent. Nothing does any good. It still shuts off randomly at will. I can guarantee that my next dryer purchase, as soon as it can happen, wont be a Fisher & Paykel. Id have better luck just tossing the clothes on the driveway and hoping the sun does the job.

In April we purchased a $2000 Fisher Paykel fridge with water and ice maker. We quickly realized the door did not close properly and was misaligned as the water/ice maker worked roughly one week on one week off. We called our dealer and they sent out a service representative who told us the water/ice maker could be replaced but he didnt know how to fix the misalignment of the door. He said he would get back to me. By late July nothing had happened and he basically washed his hands of it telling me the Fisher Paykel regional manager had ordered parts and would get back to us. By late September the parts had still not arrived so we started contacting Fisher Paykel America for help. They kept referring everything back to the regional manager who, for some reason, refused to contact us with updates. We were still waiting for a fix when they told us in October that the fridge misalignment could not be fixed. We asked for another fridge and was told that they didnt make this model any more and the closest model that would fit in our space was $500 more and was 0.5 cu. feet smaller. I asked that they replace our fridge with this one at no extra cost and they refused only offering an in-store credit for the original amount. Sorry I expect more for all the grief and inconvenience they have cased us.

I purchased a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2001 because I thought that the two drawers would be great since there are just two of us at home. Directly out of the box, this dishwasher had a dented stainless steel panel on one of the drawers. The water sensor was defective in the other, which caused noisy alarms and error messages. It only got better from there. Both drawers seals were defective and replaced multiple times in the first year. When the seal again caused alarms to go off after the warranty, the bill was over $150.00 each time this happened. These drawers were lemons from the start and should have been replaced. I have not used the machine for eight years. My husband and I do our dishes by hand. However, my current horror with this product is that now, to add insult to injury, the two drawers take turns in making beeping and/or clicking noises and the lights flash. This leads us to turn off the circuit breaker. Since my trash compactor is also on that circuit, I am unable to use everything in the kitchen that is also on that circuit--unless I go to the basement and turn on the breaker. This product is not worth the effort of purchasing. After the first year of keeping the machine running, I was told that the changes were made to the drawers that improved the quality and reliability. This purchase has been a horrible experience and I would never recommend this product to a friend. Just the thought of paying another $1,800.00 to some company for a machine to wash my dishes gives me pause to say the least. I am extremely disappointed in every aspect of this product. Certainly, the design, workmanship, quality control, value and servicing have failed to meet its intended purpose.

I have an F&P EcoSmart washer and dryer. Over the past 3 years of use, Ive had the heating element on the dryer replaced 3 times. Even though the element itself is always under warranty, F&P says I still have to pay over $100 to have a tech diagnose what I already know the problem to be, then wait 2 weeks for the part and again pay the tech to install it. I have slate floors in my laundry room and the appliance tech told me I need to wear shoes because the way the element is set, it could sag and easily hit the floor, causing electrical shock. How unsafe is that? But now after only 4 years of use, my washer has totally died. I noticed the pump was short-cycling when trying to drain the water. When water did drain for about 2 seconds, there was no blockage. Then the control panel completely died within an hour. Now I have no washer, my four grandchildren live with me and my brother, who I have not seen for nearly 10 years, is coming in from overseas with his wife and 3 children to stay for 2 weeks during the holidays. I live in a rural area and the nearest laundry mat is 30 miles away. I cant even afford to get the tech out until after the holidays, but even if I could it would still take 2 weeks to get the parts, if its even able to be repaired. So what am I supposed to do? Thanks for the happy holidays, F&P!

My wife and I purchased an Eco Smart clothes washer and a SmartLoad dryer about 3 1/2 years ago. It took the washer about 4 months to break. The repair guy said that some coins had lodged in the mechanism. Since this was such a rare occurrence (after all, one never finds coins in the laundry, right? Especially with kids in the house), I wrote it off to dumb bad luck. A few months later, it had gone down again. They replaced the logic board, I think he said. After the warranty expired, it broke two more times and I was able to repair it. Funny, there are a lot of videos and tutorials on how to fix these on YouTube. The last time it broke, I gave up and purchased a new washer from a different manufacturer. The drier stopped working well after about 8 months. It took forever to get a load dry, I thought. I cleaned out the lint trap with every load, mind you. I cleaned out the lint in the exhaust line once a month for a while, thinking that was the problem but it didnt help. Now it takes four hours to dry a load if it hasnt rained lately. It never gets much more than warm. We found out on another forum that there is a service access secondary lint trap or some such thing on it. Lucky its summer and we can line dry. All in all, this washer and dryer set were a dream, for an appliance repairman.

Weve had Fisher & Paykel. We really had bad luck but we love the washer. We got the washer and dryer maybe 60 years ago and we actually had a lot of problems but we love the way that its been so we chose to try it again so hopefully it will be better this time. I really like the other one better. This new one does a whole rinse and spin but it doesnt allow you to just spin. But I would say what I love the most about it is that the way it spins then still dry. Its a nice washer and dryer. But I do wish that you didnt have to do the whole rinse cycle for it to spin.

I am expressing my concern and frustration with Fisher Paykel. I lodged call on the 6/3/2017 as my Fisher Paykel washing machine MW513 was leaking. I did a number of tests to see where the water was coming from and it all directed back to the washing machine. When the washing machine was on high (with clothes in it), it would start leaking from the washing to rinse cycle onwards. (this was clarified to Fisher Paykel on my phone call). When they had initially sent someone out here there was a lot of mucking around and the technician was meant to come on Friday 10/3/2017, he ended going to the wrong place and cancelling my job, which then led to a series of mistakes on FP end. This led to a number of phone calls and a lot of time out from work to rectify their mistake. They then had to send a new technician the following week (16/03/2017), whereby my mum was here and explained and showed the technician the photos and his response to her was when we wash the clothes on high place the same amount of clothes to the equivalent amount of water and do the cycle. When he conducted his tests there was no water leaking, as he never tried it with the clothes inside. He then cut the pipe shorter as he advised my mum it was too long. He then left for the next job. I came home and did exactly what he said (also advised in his job summary report to me) and again, the leakage started. I then called FP and advised what occurred and what the tech said to my mum.Over the phone they were going to take over 1.5 weeks to come and service my machine when I also advised that a small tile was starting to lift and causing water damage. The after-hours lady told me to call back the next business day as she couldnt do anything about it but could only book the appointment in. I called back the next day and advised the same thing, to which the gentlemen said he will make this a high priority (again to no avail and to a number of mistakes where they had a dryer to service instead of washing machine). A number of calls later and a different tech guy came out on the 22/3/2017. When he came I was here and advised him all of the above and advised for him to see the photos which he never wanted to and stated he believed me. He ran two water tests on high and no leakage happened (these were fast tracked from filling up the washing machine to the spin cycle, missing the washing rinse part).I did state to him that the leak ONLY happens when the water and clothes are in the machine and set on high. He still never put any clothes in. His advice to me was to wash my clothes on medium or low and the splash backs will not occur. If that was the case what is the relevance of buying a washing machine to only put the machine on medium and low? After he had left I called the customer service line 22/3/2017 (as clearly I was disappointed, stressed and upset), to which the customer service boy was very rude and basically stated that I am lying. The reason being is I advised him what happened and that I had photos of this and his response was anyone can take a photo and pretend their washing machine is leaking. I do not believe this is the way to address someone who is already stressed out that her apartment is going to flood and cause damage to below / surrounding apartments, as well as my own.I was then told by the same person to wash my clothes again and video it. I said I am a woman and I cannot lift the washing machine as it is heavy and you are now asking me to have the same leak occur and for me to clean up the mess yet again? His response was like yeah. What kind of people are they employing and how can they even think of treating their customers like this and getting away with it? I have already taken numerous time of out of work and constantly have to watch the machine when I wash.I didnt buy this washing machine so I can only place it on a certain level. It is under one years old and only until this year March, the problem occurred. There was no other history and when I made these complaints, it was indirectly stated back to me that nothing is wrong and I felt they thought I did know what I was talking about (deeming as I am woman). But, as my mum and my friend had witnessed, the water was coming from the machine. I will not be breaking my back lifting and cleaning again.I also asked a few times if I can get a cash settlement back and to speak to a team leader (none of which was done or considered at the time of the calls). The reason being is so I can buy a more reliable machine and can wash my clothes on high. I have uploaded photos and receipt of when I purchased the washing machine. I would like to be able to either get a reimbursement for the machine or a better quality machine, as I am wasting heaps of money on water bills. This by far, is the worst customer service I have ever received and do not advise anyone to purchase their products.

Approximately seven years ago, we purchased a Fisher Paykel washer from a local Lowes. I really liked the idea of using less water. The change from a regular dial machine to electronic push button seemed like a nice update. I will say that the only thing I like about this machine was that the spin cycle was very efficient and the clothes had much less moisture, resulting in far less drying time in the clothes dryer. The purpose of my review is to warn everyone what a horrible experience we have had with this brand. We have had to have this machine repaired four times by a professional. We have spent more money on repairs than the original purchase of the machine. We will never purchase anything by Fisher Paykel again. I strongly warn others about this brand. It is a complete waste of money.

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

We purchased a new Fisher Paykel refrigerator in MAY of 2013 (two months ago). When delivered and plugged in, the compressor was very loud and created a tone that is at a frequency that is intolerable. High pitch buzzing. This is straight out of the box. After 2 months, 6 service calls and three days off from work and new parts, it keeps whinging along. So loud it is causing my ears to ring. Fisher Paykel is not responsive and is giving the business we bought it from a runaround (Cocoplum appliance Essex, Vermont). Even after filing a complaint with the US FTC and the State of Vermont Consumer Affairs, there is no resolution. We are waiting to hear back today and if no response, we will get a personal injury attorney to work on a hearing damage claim. It is probably the only way to approach this as theres no where to turn. I do not understand that when they delivered a defective product, they dont back it up with the warranty.

After a great deal of research, I learned this refrigerator has the least depth of any other on the market that includes a water dispenser. This is due in part to the fact the ice maker is not contained on the door; the icemaker is contained in the bottom freezer. Yes, you have to scoop out the ice manually, but the depth space savings is worth the trade, and the chilled water dispensed doesn't require ice. Although I initially thought it pricy for a refrigerator, it was my only option for the space in my kitchen. I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was in my kitchen Wednesday afternoon. I love this stylish and sleek refrigerator!!! While 17 cubic feet may seem small, it is an ideal size for most families. In most cases, the items stored in the back of a refrigerator are forgotten or the space isn't really used anyway. There is so much shelf space that I was able to get more in this refrigerator than my previous larger unit. I was surprised to find that the water filter is not contained within the unit. The filter holder mounts to the wall, or, in my case, an adjacent cabinet, and just the water line attaches to the unit. This perhaps goes with the philosophy of no wasted space in the unit. I opted for a three year extended warranty for just over $100, but I am optimistic I won't need it. I'll update this rating if I have problems with the unit, but so far I have absolutely no regrets.

Soon after, we had problems with the way it dried (not drying many loads) the control panel cracking and breaking and we couldnt even turn it on. Now it is making the squeaking noise which is probably the bearing. It is now out of warranty and to fix it I could invest in a better dryer than have to pay to have it fixed every year. We purchased the washer and dryer 5 years ago as appliance sales people everywhere gave the set rave reviews. Their excitement had to be due to huge spiffs or incentives for selling these as I have never owned anything so problematic. Among the issues, no service people know how or want to repair them. The washer doesnt clean clothes, water temp is never correct, and there are error codes. The dryer doesnt catch lint, it is noisy and it stopped working. I have been told by several salespeople, They are so easy to work on. Very few moving parts, etc. What no one tells you is that moving parts are very inexpensive compared to the circuit boards needed to possibly fix my dryer so it will run. $360.00 for the parts and who knows for labor! Despicable! I will never do business with Fisher & Paykel again nor will I pay to talk to a service rep on line. Very poor customer service.

For two years wed had an authorized service provider come look at it, but Fisher & Paykel doesnt believe us. They said they called the provider and that we have only had it looked at once. They are being cheap and dont want to help. It was a very expensive washer, so you would think they would replace it if it only works half the time. They have a very rude customer service tone.

A customer service representative called me to update me on the availability of the new washer model in the US. It will be available at the end of July or first of August. I dont want to wait another month but do want this new larger capacity model. The rep also called my service department to have my top loader dryer repaired. She wanted to make sure they have the correct part for the repair scheduled for Monday. Fisher & Paykel has an outstanding customer service department. I am staying with this brand and looking forward to purchasing my new washing machine the 4.2 cubic foot Aqua Smart as soon as it becomes available in the US.

We bought Fisher Paykel washer last year and I cant say enough good things about it so when our Maytag drier broke I bought the Fisher Paykal drier that matched the washer even though the salesman recommended another brand. Ive given the drier several months and I still hate it. The worst problem is that the auto dry function does not work. The clothes consistently come out over dried. In fact Im surprised my bedspread didnt catch on fire in the drier. When I removed it (because I felt it had been in the drier too long) the panel still said it was damp but it was so cooked that it was completely puckered up and crisp in places. I had to replace it. Clothes still have lint all over them and I hate the fact that the timer can only be set for predetermined amounts of time and that I have to wait for the lid to unlock every time I want to open the lid. It’s a bad design flaw! I wish I could replace it but it seems Im stuck with it now. All I can do is to warn others.

Weve had our washer and dryer for 4 1/2 years and had to call the repairman twice. I have to constantly reset our overheat button at least 1-2 times every week! This is unacceptable. Its loud and does a horrible job collecting lint. I have to vacuum it out weekly as it doesnt really collect like it should. We have to buy a new machine because the cost to call a repairman out plus a possible part is not worth investing in this piece of junk.

We as people have grown to trust in name brands, however those days have long gone. I consider myself an economist the type shopper researches not impulses when buying a major purchase however it has come to past unless you have disposable income and dont mind re-buying the same item within 7-10 years if you dont mind then read no further, this article, complaint doesnt apply to you.2009 purchased a Fisher & Paykel washer from Sears. Bought the extended service contract and within the first year the mainboard, the inner tub were replaced. I placed a complaint on this site several years ago and was notified while on vacation concerning my complaint. At first I was confused, caught off guard and shocked that F&P would intervene and take over the complaint and order the correct UPGRADED parts. Sears Tech had no idea were available and ordered the normal routine parts even when I mention the possibility I was ignored. In the end, Sears took all the credit and basically did nothing. Most reputable companies dont want complaint especially when they are logged with the BBB or Respectfully The Attorney General although some dont care. Brand name, dont mean a thing. It pays to buy cheap and skip the bells and whistles. It doesnt pay for the short time of enjoyment usually a one year warranty if the extended was not purchased and then hear we dont contact when the warranty about to expire. Sears tell lies I was contacted on items out of warranty and they wanted me to renew. As for Fisher & Paykel I should have requested a return after the initial replacement. I thought this company was quality. I was wrong.

They said they cant judge how I treat the washer. We are retires and there is only the 2 of us. How much can we have? The customer service said it will cost upward of $300 to fix it. When I heard from our local repair man, he said it was the seal and to junk it. It would cost about $80 to repair. A friend who does repairs said it was the seal and maybe the pump but that we should trash it.

Our drum support broke out of our front load washer and so then I was looking around. A friend recommended a local appliance store and that was the friend that they had featured on their website. So then I went and researched a little about Fisher Paykel and it sounded interesting. We checked it out and we liked it. It seemed like the mechanism was simple so it got fewer things to break on it. And we liked that it was a high efficiency top load so we purchased it. Its a fine washer. We went to an appliance store down in Houston and we had tested several washers. Fisher Paykel is what we first bought. We found out the ease of the repair and the warranty so we bought a washer. And then my dishwasher went out and I needed a new one so we went to the same place. Since we had such good luck with the washing machine, we went with the dishwasher also. I love the new models - love the efficiency. I love that they dont use a whole lot of water or energy and the results of the clean are as good, if not better, than a model that uses all the water and all the electricity. It doesnt cost me a million dollar to have them repaired. My experience has been fantastic. Ive had one problem with my washing machine and it was very easy to take a part and we found a YouTube video and took it apart and replaced the part ourselves. So instead of having someone come out and we have to pay them $120 just to look at it, for $60 for the part and everything, it was done and over within 15 minutes.

We have had our Fisher & Paykel dryer for a little over two years. At the end of the first year, there was a problem with the door. Fortunately, it was still under warranty and was replaced. However, at the end of the second year, the sensor did not work. The dryer would spin continuously without any heat. At the end of the cycle, the dryer would rotate for several minutes in the locked position and we could not open it. We had contacted Fisher & Paykel to find out what the problem was, and they suggested that we call a technician. We contacted an authorized technician, who said that the door was broken. As the part being replaced was under warranty within the year, I asked that he contact Fisher & Paykel regarding warranty for that part. He called, was placed on hold, and then was disconnected. Since he had to go to another appointment, I said that I would contact Fisher & Paykel directly. Fisher & Paykel asked that I submit invoices for the purchase and the technicians notes, which I did. They then informed me that it is not their policy to reimburse for payments! My response to them was, How was I to submit the technicians notes without payment? They apologized that they were sorry I did not know the process. How would a consumer know what their process was without being told, either by their authorized service rep or their customer service? I was not advised of my rights or their process, and as a result, I am now out of pocket for around $300 for a dryer that is only a little over two years old. I have had Maytag and Whirlpool washers and dryers for 30 years, and not once did I have to call for service. This product is a lemon. I have given this feedback to Fisher & Paykel and am in the market for a new dryer. It would be less expensive to purchase another dryer, a different brand, than to continue with any further repairs down the road.

I purchased Fisher&Paykel Refrigerator (model E522BRXFD) Oct. 2011 for its look and fit into my kitchen space. It turned out to be a serious mistake. Two years after the purchase, the plastic drain pan of the frig broke, which let water flow over my brand new hardwood floor for days. Not even three years after the purchase, the frig stopped working. The freezer part seems OK, but the frig compartment no longer cools even I put the temperature control dial to the lowest level. I called Fisher/Paykel and the answer was their repair technician was busy and I have to wait for a week for an appointment. Now I am stuck with a broken frig. I paid triple amount of money to purchase this Fisher&Paykel brand when compared with my prior Whirlpool frig, which I used 25 years and never gave me any trouble.

This is a follow-up to my first post (Fisher & Paykel Ecosmart washer). The firemen were wrong about the motor. I called a local repair person/authorized repair person and they were here today. It was the famous pump that everyone else has been talking about. They said grit gets into the pump and causes the seal to leak, and then water drips onto the pump/electronics and causes it to burn out. There is a fuse that blows in the control board. They replaced the fuse and put another fuse in line with the pump. The repair was quick. I was told the pump would be about $90.00 plus service call. It’s much better than we originally thought. In my opinion, there is a problem with these pumps, though.

In a store at Tri-City Fair, I was going around, looking for a washing machine and my husband had heard a little bit about Fisher and Paykel. He said, “You know, maybe we should look at this.” So I started looking those up and we went to a store that carried them here in Salem. I had one set of washer and dryer, and then I have replaced the washer as my previous one went. It was just around 5 years. I think it was the motherboard. I wasn’t crazy about that, but I like the product…how it spins (high speed). I also like the fact that it can be on top loading and the amount of water it extracts from the clothes so it takes less drying time if I use my dryer. It’s a little loud, but I have it in my basement so it’s no problem and I don’t have to worry about water spill… Only a couple of times that I had water come over and I think it was because I had something in there. It’s fine, I like it. I’d say they’re better compared to other models I had before them. I’d recommend it to a friend.

I had a service call due to excessive squeaking. The lint trap screen failed and was subsequently replaced. I also had the washer looked at, because the water was not filling. And drain tube was fixed. He said we would probably need to replace the bearings. My husband replaced the drum bearing, but the drum belt tension roller bearings are original and are probably the culprit of the continued squeak. Also, the dryer not drying very well. Due to economic restraints and cost of bearing and poor design that make service costly, we are looking at ditching the dryer. Based on the premium purchase price, the dryer is certainly not looking to provide the 15- to 20-year trouble-free service life expectancy; and we are highly dissatisfied with this product. My husband has been out of work (under-employed for the past 4, going on 5 years), so service calls are costly. It would be cheaper for us to park it on the curb and buy used reliable dryer than to provide service. Can you help us out? It sure would keep us F&P fans. I have seen you have provided repair for others free of charge. I would appreciate if you could offer the same treatment in our case. Thanks. After 6 weeks of back and forth with the company giving me misinformation and every employee telling me different things to do and making me in charge of lining up appliance service with 4 days needed off of work that resulted in them not replacing a bad refrigerator but saying they would repair. The wheels were also broken with the services which ruined my floor and once they replace the refrigerator they will not guarantee. Its a shame that all the people who have left complaints here, dont have a friend or family member thats a appliance tech, because the Fisher & Paykel washer & top load dryer are the best laundry set Ive ever owned. Fortunately for me that I have a brother who not only is a tech, but also worked for Fisher & Paykel, so he knows their products, inside and out. When I 1st got them and saw the tops were all plastic, I thought I was forced into the biggest mistake of my life. Because like many other people here, I got rid of my Maytag set that were still working after 30 years with very little service. Although Ive had some issues with the top load dryer, mainly the lint build-up behind the grill that he vacuums out once a month. Ive only had to replace a lint screen and bearings kit in the 6 years that Ive own it. Since I only had to pay for the parts and not for labor or service charge, my cost have been very minimal. As for the washer, the only problem is that when we do large loads it usually splashes water on to the basement floor. Since its only a concrete floor, its not a major issue. The only thing my brother can think why we are not experiencing the same problems with leaking pumps causing computer board to burn out is, we all bought our machines manufactured in New Zealand before they opened their Ohio, USA factory.Considering all the laundry my family does in a week, the Fisher & Paykel set has held up very well, so far. I know its largely in part because my brother is an appliance tech and not everyone is as fortunate. But Im very happy with them. The reverse- tumble dryer has cut down on my ironing, saving a great deal of time and energy.

I needed a new refrigerator because my old one is 24 years old and had a leak so I purchased the Fisher & Paykel especially because it fits the area of the space in my apartment. It has a counter depth that when you add the door and the handle, it would fit the wall deck that it needed to fit. I was happy that I was able to get a French door which is what I really wanted. Compared to my old ref, it got a water feature which I never had before which is nice. Im kind of disappointed that the ice makers not on the outside. The water for the ice seems to go outside the ice tray and then it gets stuck. Its hard to move it out, to pull it back or push it back so I was taking ice away from the sides. I dont know if that just happens to be but somehow the drawer part was installed for some reason because it doesnt seem like its lopsided or anything like that. Ill explore it again and see what would happen when I turn it all back on again.I would recommend Fisher & Paykel to others. I had mentioned it to some people already because I had a neighbor who happened to pass by after they installed it and the blinds were up and said Ooh, French door and its fixed. The recommended and authorized repairman arrived and discovered that the main circuit board was not functioning, so my top drawer was unable to work. He had the wrong part so he left, and was to return four days later. On that occasion, although he installed the board, there was then an additional problem with a wire. He left again, and had to order that part. Five days later I had to call to find out what was going on. The HiTech service, or rising service solution person, as their caller ID reads, informed me that they were service techs, not a warehouse, and so parts had to be ordered. Every time the guy comes, its another long trip, paid by me from their location. How can you be an authorized service and not carry parts? Also, I find the Fisher Paykel website very unhelpful re: technicians. I talked to a living person, and she had no more information than I did, so that also was useless. I saw a Fisher & Paykel commercial about the type of dish washer that I wanted and from what I understand, theyre pretty much the only ones the make those now, the drawer ones. So when my refrigerator quit working, I decided to buy one although it was much more expensive but it had the drawer option that I wanted. The company has been very good so far. As far as I know, I dealt with just the company that I bought it from in the store, but as far as my happiness with the dishwasher, Im not really pleased. To begin with, we had the one that I ordered and laid for to be in stock and it was put in and for some reason it leaked immediately. Right after the delivery guy left, it started leaking, at least twice. Its been three times its flooded my kitchen floor, my hardwood floor. They called me that they were going to contact the company of Fisher & Paykel and find out if they were going to do anything about my floor, but I havent heard anything. Then they bought me a stainless steel one and put it in to replace the one that I ordered, which was a couple hundred dollars more and they didnt make me pay the extra money, which was nice. I have my dishwasher and I was happy. But since then, its only been less than a year and probably six months or so but the pieces inside where you stack the dishes are already breaking. I have to find another piece that I could put there so that I could get my dishes in there. Plus the fact that the chimes are so close together that you cant get anything in there except for a flat dish, unless you just take all of the things out and just have an open drawer. Our complaint is that nothing fits in them right and it doesnt clean as well as I thought they would. I thought they would be very good for what we spent on them. I put less and less in them just thinking itll get cleaner and cleaner because theyre in such a compact area. But they dont really seem to. And I follow all the rules on what they say to do and stuff but even so stuff is not as clean as I thought it would get. So I dont know what it is that keeps it from being clean, but I keep trying.

One we constantly had problems with. Authorized service came out a number of times and said that our dishwasher issues came from these little tiny bugs on our circuit board. Our house has no bugs. Interestingly, I was talking to my friend who loved my dishwasher and when she remodeled her house, she bought two single drawer dishwashers. I was surprised to find that she has one that operates perfectly. The other is plagued with these little bugs and shes disgusted. She also has no bugs in her home either. I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

F&P product quality has bottomed out. Our first set of Fisher & Paykel washer and dryer worked very well. We sold them with the house in FL. We relocated to TN and purchased the newer model washer and dryer, and sorry to say, will never purchase another F&P product again. The DEGX1 dryer has broken down multiple times (no heat or taking hours to dry a load of clothes). The lint trap is extremely inefficient. We have had to repair the dryer and put out money when we could barely buy food. The washer that we purchased at the same time does not effectively wash clothes and they have to be rewashed. We are so disappointed and angry that we put so much money. Talk about sorry workmanship!

Bought a Fisher & Paykel washing machine in 2011 from Lowes. In Dec 2015, motor and control panel blew out. $649 to fix and its that much to buy a new one. FP doesnt stand by its product. We took the hit and bought LG machine. Crossing fingers for a better experience. Appliances should last more than 4 years, dont you think?

On December 4, 2013, I wrote a review of this gas range and expressed my concern about being abandoned by the manufacturer and left with a stove that could not be repaired. We knew our stove was out of warranty, we were just shocked that we had been told by their local repair company that it could not be repaired. In response to that post, we were contacted by the manufacturer who came to our aid and not only found the solution, but had our stove fixed without charge. So Fisher Paykel has gone beyond the call of duty here, and we certainly appreciate their reaching out to consumers of their product. Thank you.

Fisher-Paykel WL4227J1 - We purchased this machine, new, on 9/24/14. The machine worked well for 2 weeks & then developed a loud hum in the pump during the drain cycle. Once I was able to get a technician here a week later, it was confirmed that the pump was defective & needed to be replaced under warranty. Now for the part that angers me... The repair shop called back & stated that it would be another week to get the part, as F/P ships from AZ & that it would take 5 business days to arrive... Seriously? So I called F/P direct & was told that it would be 3-5 business days as the part ships from Huntington Beach, CA. Or, I could contact the retailer I purchased the machine from & ask them to exchange it... but that they were under no obligation to do so. Hello... customer service. Fisher & Paykel should be OVERNIGHTING a new pump to my retailer... not the 3-5 business days they stated as it is a brand new machine. How do they expect me to clean my clothes for the past 5 days plus the next week? Down with Fisher & Paykel!

We bought a motorhome and our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawer was part of the package. It is astounding compared to the ones we previously owned. However it was a little hard to get used to because it’s probably a low end model. It doesnt have any lights on it anywhere, it just beeps, and it wasnt working when we first got moved in but they had somebody come out and fix it and the customer service was incredible. My sister-in-law actually has the double drawer model and when she found out I had one she said, “Oh, you will love every bit about it. It’s just incredible!” Not only is it easy and efficient being in a drawer like that, it does consume less water, it’s quiet. We’re very happy with it and we would highly recommend it to anybody.

I purchased a new F&P washer to replace the old one that I have. After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. If you want control over your wash do not buy a F&P washer. Once you start the machine, its out of your hands. This is not a consumer friendly machine

My Fisher Paykel washing machine quit working. After venting about my Fisher Paykel washing machine, I was contacted about my issue. To my surprise, I was contacted by the company and my machine was fixed, free of charge, within 5 hours. As it turns out, the washer that I had thought was just a piece of junk turned out to be so sophisticated that it shut itself down rather than short out and possibly burn down my house! I will now only buy Fisher Paykel appliances!

I had purchased a 6 burner range with DCS brand. The hinges have failed over the years so thought I would replace them. There are many places to buy the parts but thought I would go right to the source. I ordered parts and was assured delivery within 5-7 days. After 2-1/2 weeks I called them. They have no proof of the order. I sent them the confirmation that they sent me showing order number, price, and charged credit card. I sent that back to them and that was not enough proof. I had to go track down and submit proof from my credit card statement that I was in fact charged. I sent that to them and still have not heard anything back. I will give it one more day and then I will fight it with credit card company. I really rely on customer service especially when purchasing something as expensive as this range was. This will be the last time I ever order any appliance with a brand name affiliated with this group. Very disappointed customer!!

I purchased the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer 3 years ago from Lowes, after being coaxed into it by the sales associate. He was really pushing these appliances, and they certainly arent as good as he claimed they were! I have been very dissatisfied with these appliances, especially the dryer! I hate the weird noises it makes when putting it on, pause, and turning it off! Ive had nothing but problems with it. It takes forever to dry anything! Weve had a repairman out, and he replaced an element after wed only had it for 2 years! It still took forever to dry my clothes, and now it wont dry anything! It certainly cant be energy efficient if I have to run it for hours to dry one load of clothes! This was the worst appliance purchase weve ever made, and I have nothing good to say about it to anyone!

I was one of those customers that was highly encouraged to buy a Fisher & Paykel Washer and Dryer. I was one of the lucky ones that purchased an extended warranty but that doesnt do anything for inconvenience. I have had to have my dryer worked on about five times. Once I had to wait for over eight weeks which means lugging wet clothes to the laundry mat to dry them. Ive had my washer worked on about four times. Now, my extended warranty is up on both machines and I noticed that my washer is leaking water. It seems that the water is coming from the top of the machine. I tilted the machine back and the only part that is wet is the side. I have read on the web that many other people are having the same problem. I purchased the washer in 2006 and the dryer in 2007. I really expected to get at least ten years out of these appliances since they are not cheap.

My washing machine beeped on Tuesday and I followed the directions in the users manual to try to correct the problem. In the meantime the control panel was burnt out because the drain pump was broken. I called the repairman and he came on the following Tuesday and did not have a drain pump to install because they had just used the last one. I am guessing that there have been a lot of problems with Fisher and Paykel drain pumps. If I would not have tried to correct the problem, I possibly would not have burnt out the control panel. It is costing me $352 to repair the machine. I had ordered a brand new one, the same as what I had and I could have had it delivered on New Years Eve. I slept on it and cancelled the order because I thought I would be saving $300. The repairman said that they have replaced many control panels but Fisher & Paykel have corrected the problem by adding a fuse that will not cause the control panel to burn out. I would have hoped this would have been a product recall and saved a lot of people time and money. I really like my Fisher and Paykel machine but I am disappointed with the product not being recalled if you knew it was faulty. I would hope that I could be reimbursed some of the cost for the repair. The repairman was very knowledgeable and helpful.

My granddaughter was getting married and moving into a home and needed a lot of help with outfitting it so I gave her my old washer and dryer. So then I went out to an appliance store looking for a new washer and dryer and found out about Fisher & Paykel. I had good recommendation from the owner who told me that’s what he had at his house so I chose to buy this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with my first F&P washer and dryer. Really, there are some things that are much better than the previous ones we’ve owned - I think that they spin water out more and the clothes are dryer when you take them out of the washer to put them in the dryer. They don’t have as much water in them so less dry time.

We went to Gorsuch Appliance in Canton and they were telling us about the Fisher & Paykel. My Maytag washer died after 18 years so I switched to the Fisher & Paykel on their recommendation. What sold me on the product was the no agitator thing and that it weighed the load. Also because Maytag is not what it used to be. I like the washer. Compared to what my other one was, its slow and I thought these new washers were faster. It takes a little longer, but I can get more clothes in. Thats a big plus. And Ive only had one time where it was off balanced and that was the first time that I washed sheets and I didnt read the instructions properly.

When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. WHO WOULD LOVE THIS FRIDGE People who: - Have more fresh food than frozen food - Don't need to store extra deep items (large pizza box, for example)* SEE UPDATES - Appreciate removable storage bins - Like sleek, simple, modern design - Want to maximize the storage of the inside of their fridge - Like good lighting - Want to be able to fill pitchers and other large containers from the door water dispenser - Want easy opening and closing doors - Want to be able to view everything in their fridge at a glance without needing to move things out of the way. 3 pumps in 5 years - We purchased our Fisher & Paykel washer in 2008 at Beesons, Lafayette, IN. They also did the warranty work for us. They replaced the pump while under warranty. A few years ago, my husband replaced the pump himself. Now, my pump is out again; the part is $130. We have decided to not put any more money into this appliance. I plan to go shopping for a new washer and will not be buying a Fisher& Paykel appliance ever again. Im curious. Is this normal for a Fisher & Paykel?

Fisher & Paykel EcoSmart GWL15 has cost a lot of money in repairs over the couple of years Ive owned it (on my 3rd agitator). The final straw is today, when we came home from a vacation with many loads of wash to do and the control panel is beeping, completely broken and not working! I am so frustrated! Do not buy Fisher & Paykel if you want a maintenance-free trustworthy washer! It has been very costly to replace 3 agitators and probably now, a control board! Totally unreliable! I will never buy this brand again!

I have a Fisher Paykel oven and Ive had it for 7 years. I have used the self-clean function only twice and both times the oven overheated and stopped working. The repairs were expensive, $500 - $600, I could have paid for a new oven if Id known it would happen twice. The second time this happened, the repairman told me that Fisher Paykel was aware of the defective thermostat and I could have it replaced but the piece alone cost about $500! I felt that Fisher Paykel should install the part for free since the problem is their fault. I opted to just repair the oven and never use the self clean function again.

This dishwasher has two separate sections, in other words it is two small dishwashers in one. Cleaning quality is very good; however, it is difficult to load the way the racks are positioned. But, I can get four wine glasses with stems to hang in a stable position in each washing section.

Before ordering, please check that the delivery company will be able to get the appliance in your kitchen. I ordered an American fridge freezer, but when it arrived they could not get it into my kitchen. The delivery boys were lovely and they said they could probably get it in, if the doors and drawer were removed, but they could not find a way to remove the drawer. I called Fisher and Paykel and they could not help either and suggested that I just took doorstep delivery and work the rest out for myself! Very disappointing, so to avoid disappointment yourselves, please check this out before you order. Incidentally, I live in a detached house with standard size openings.

I am a rural American, I have used the Fisher & Paykel washing machine for 4 years and have continually smelled mold and mildew. Today, the washer spilled water all over my laundry room, so I took the entire machine apart. As I suspected, there was mold and slime all over it. Why does water sit on the bottom of this washing machine all the time and what can I do to correct this problem other than go buy a GE?

We were looking for a new refrigerator that met the dimensions of our kitchen. After looking at a lot of manufacturers we found Fisher Paykel and we are glad we did. The refrigerator has far surpassed our expectations. It make the kitchen look great! I would highly recommend Fisher Paykel.

During a full kitchen renovation we needed a fridge of unusual dimensions. Fisher & Paykel had one that would fit and so we decided for aesthetics we would purchase the same brand for the induction range. It’s an expensive decision that we came to regret. Within a few months, we realized the oven wasn’t achieving the temperature it was set at and constantly ran up to 30F below the temp showing on the display. After the second call, maybe the third, we were told that we’d have to learn to mentally calculate what temperature to set the oven to depending on what we were cooking. $5000 for an oven that was less predictable than a much less expensive unit. The induction cooktop was really good, efficient, no problems but after the fourth service call, several parts replaced and eventually 6 weeks without an oven or cooktop because the temperature control failed spectacularly and the entire range had to be disconnected over Christmas while the parts were on back order, it was eventually repaired successfully, but it required an entire new motherboard and sensor, and two years of aggravation. For this reason, I will never again buy anything from Fisher & Paykel.

The guy who has fixed our appliances in our house recommended the Fisher & Paykel washer. He said it was a really good washing machine. He has seen it. He’s installed it a few times. He thinks it’s great. And weve used him for years so we trusted him, so we bought that. We have been happy with the washing machine so far.
