One feature is that I can choose a fast wash or a full water wash and that I can choose a soak or not to soak. I can wash and rinse in all hot or warm or cold. Also, the was is in an open drum with no center agitator. It's less hard on clothes.

I purchased an AquaSmart washer and AeroSmart dryer by Fisher Paykel about 8 years ago. Out of the box the dryer had issues with the lid rubbing the drum. I called for service from a list of repairmen given to me by FP. Not a single person EVER called me back despite repeated calls and messages. I guess this might have been my first clue that even the repair guys wanted nothing to do with these machines. Finally, my husband shimmed the lid with a screw and this seemed to take care of the issue. Recently a bearing went out and prior to that the heat sensor. This week the washer has water dripping into it which from what I have read has something to do with the valve inlet and is about a $200 fix, if we DIY. I have had scum, I think is the term, on my clothes despite running the cleaning cycle every other month and rigidly measuring my detergent. Needless to say I am currently washer shopping. My husband has threatened to drag the washer behind his truck until its destroyed. He absolutely refuses to put another cent into either of these lemons.

I bought a Fisher Paykel dryer model # DE62T7G. Do not buy! This dryer looks great and is sold as an energy efficient dryer. It breaks down constantly. We have had the heat coils replaced and the reset button replaced, after it took over 4 hours to dry clothes one year after purchasing the unit. Now it is no longer drying and makes a grinding sound as it cycles. We have already spent in excess of $200 dollars getting it repaired. This is a 2 year old dryer. Of course it is out of warranty and at his point why sink money into a lemon.

Dont buy Fisher & Paykel products! Unlike GE and Whirlpool their products need repair from day one! I had 3 dryers delivered before we found one that worked. The latest dryer has been worked on several times with the lint trap mechanism being the culprit. When it goes out the dryer sounds like a slow moving locomotive. (Ive been without a dryer for almost a month.) The company knows about the problem but refuses to do anything about it.

We have only had the washer and dryer set since July 2011. The Fisher & Paykel dryer is not producing heat to dry clothes. It will only air dry and that takes hours for just 1 load... so much for energy efficient. My warranty expired last month.

I purchased a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer from Sears roughly 4 years ago. Dryer stopped heating. I found a repair person, had to order parts. It is now 1.5 weeks later and the parts are finally in. It will be another day or so before the repairman can come over, $330 for repair and two weeks of hanging clothes or going to laundromat for drying. I would have to seriously reconsider purchasing this brand again with this type of wait for parts.

My friend’s husband is an engineer and told me they bought a Fisher & Paykel because her husband had done some research and said that they had the fewest moving parts of any washing machine. And fewer moving parts is a good thing. I needed a washing machine, so I bought one and that was four or five years ago, and I’m pleased with it. I just got the dryer in August and I already had to have a new heating element put in. I don’t know if it’s the dryer’s problem or if it’s my ductwork’s problem but the outside vent is getting clogged up and I never had that before. But that doesn’t seem like it could be the dryer’s problem and we haven’t figured out what it is because I don’t think there’s a lot of lint in the lint screen. And so I can’t understand how the lint can bypass the lint screen and go out the outside vent. They need to send a repairman. As far as how they look, they’re fine. In price, they’re all in the same ballpark. And as far as performance, I don’t know because I haven’t tried that many others. I used to be a Whirlpool customer and I had wonderful luck with Whirlpool. But then I bought an Amana washer and dryer in 2004 and I had to replace the washing machine with the Fisher & Paykel, and then I just replaced the dryer. The dryer issue hasn’t been resolved yet but we are quite pleased with our Fisher & Paykel washing machine.

I feel that it is only fair that I leave a positive review for Fisher Paykel after the two negative ones I left. After having issues with my dryer and then my washer, Lisette of Fisher Paykel has been very helpful. When the bearings on my dryer needed to be replaced, the company paid over half the cost. When the water pump on my washer broke shortly after, the company is going to pay for the pump. Their customer service is excellent. Thank you so much.

I bought this dishwasher a few years ago. I thought it would be great because of the 2 drawers. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned. We had it repaired 6 times in the 3 years I owned it and the last time, it couldnt be repaired. In talking to the place I bought it, they put in a request for assistance from the Fisher Paykel Rep, who said there was nothing he could do for me. Very disappointing for a fairly expensive purchase. Ive gone back to Miele, which in my opinion is the best.

They looked nice in the picture. When I saw them for the 1st time, the construction looked cheap but I thought, well, Ill see how they perform and not judge a book by its cover, so to speak. Anyways, I have had them for just about a year now and cannot wait to get something new. The washer always stops working and wont spin out. So I have to wring out the clothes. The washer doesnt wash them very well. I can still smell odors after my clothes have been washed and dried. I dont know why, but all of our clothes are getting these small holes all over them. The lip on the washer locks so you can start it after you put detergent in. I can go on and on. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Maytag or Whirlpool, anything but this. Its cheap and the makers should be ashamed. But I dont think they will be around long. You market garbage and you’re soon to be out of business. Hope someone actually reads this before they buy one. I wish I did. From the looks of the ratings, everyone else seems to think the same.

Buyer beware. What a lemon. Or do they sell orchards full of lemons? I have had nothing but trouble from my Fisher Paykel fridge. No help from customer care. An automated machine would be more sympathetic. In July 2010, fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes to crimp brackets. Cost is $121. In February 2011. The fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes. Fan wire had separated and detached due to ice building up. Cost is $125. In November 2011, the fridge overheated. The technician came and the fridge was sent away for two weeks. I had new refrigeration unit put in and only three months later, in February 2012, the fridge overheated. The technician came and replaced fan. Cost is $125. I did ask for a different technician and was told I had to wait three weeks. How can anyone go without a fridge for three weeks? Please do yourself a favor, dont buy Fisher Paykel.

I fell in love with it when I saw it. I took it home and everything was good. Tech came out and fixed the dryer and the washer within my 2-year warranty. The warranty ran out and the dryer tore up again. Tech came and repaired it, costing me around $150.00. Now, the washer does not work again and I am so upset. I thought that I had the perfect set and I was mistaken. I didn’t even mind paying more for it. I should have gotten a different brand that was cheaper but would have lasted longer. I feel like every year, it tears up and I have to pay for it to be replaced. I really wanted these to last.

Part way through 2nd year, Fisher Paykel said dryer had to go to authorized repair facility (closest St Johns and they would not come here to service). So we took it in (diagnosis was loose connection); 4. 3rd year quit again (back to St Johns for service Loose Wire). Ran for a couple months and quit again. During all this time we had been communicating with Fisher Paykel Corporate. Last call in the year 3, Fisher Paykel said dryer was too old and would not handle any more repairs. My husband is a carpenter and loves watching This Old House and Hometime - that’s how he heard about Fisher & Paykel washer. And then when we went, that was one of the models that they had and we really liked it. I had never heard of it and my husband was the one that’s like, “Oh, that’s a really nice one!” That would be a big reason why we ended up going with that model. I haven’t had much luck with my Maytag and so we went with another brand. And then of course everything that could go wrong with it, when they came out, “Well, we’ve never seen that happen before.” So I was like, “Okay. I’m done spending a ton of money on them.” We purchased a higher brand washer. It was only like $399 and I thought, “Well, even if it only lasts 5 years, okay.” It actually died before a year was out. When we went back to the gentleman that we purchased it from, they wouldn’t honor it anymore. He said, “Sorry, you’re out of warranty” and I’m like, “Really?!” Actually, I should clarify because the first one went out within a year so they replaced it. And they sent us a different one and that one died. And they weren’t going to replace that because my original year was up. The gentleman who we had purchased from was like, “No. I’ll stand behind it. You come down and we’ll get you something else.” That’s when we chose the one that we have now. It’s just my husband and I. Our two kids are at college so I’m like, “We don’t do that much laundry. I’m not that hard on them!” The Fisher & Paykel is just phenomenal, and I’ve told everyone. My husband and I have talked, that’s the brand we’ll look out, first and foremost.

This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product
This was my official complaint to Fisher and Paykel. I bought your product (washer and dryer) from Lowes 4 years ago. I spent roughly $1600-$1700. The product ran pretty well, and I enjoyed them for most part until our dryer stopped heating. I assumed it was the heating element, so I called around to see if I could have some service it. No one other than A&E Appliance Company services it. Every appliance service company said they used to service it, but could not get info and parts for them so they stopped. A&E sent someone out here for the service. He had no idea how to work on it. He spent 2 hours trying to open the dryer and had to have someone on the phone the whole time to tell him what to do. He finally determined it was the heating element at 8:00 at night. He said he would order the part and schedule a follow up appointment. I waited a week; no call from them. I called them up and asked what the deal was. They had no record of my previous appointment and said no one had ordered the part or made another appointment. I asked if they could give me the servicemans number. They said they did not have their numbers. I asked if they could get in touch with them and they said they would page them to call me. Three days later, no call. I called back and they said they would page them again. Three days later, no call. I said the heck with it and searched for the part myself. I found it, installed it but now there seems to be an electrical problem. I used my meter reader to find where the power failure was at. I thought I found the part that was needed. I went and bought another part, installed it and still it doesnt work. At that point we were a month in and I was $300 down. I was at the point where I was going to buy another dryer and sink the Fisher and Paykel dryer in the closest pond. I called 1 888 936 7872 and explained to them the situation and asked if Fisher and Paykel could make any suggestions before I sunk this piece of junk. They asked for me to call A&E again. I explained that I could not get anyone to come out here and that if I did, I would have to pay at least another $300-$400 for diagnostics, parts and labor. I only paid about $800 for it so that was out of the question. The representative then told me that she would open a file for me and F&P would make sure A&E came out and fixed it at no charge to us. For this I said, that would be great service and show the consumer that F&P was committed to service. We opened a file #** and they said they would call A&E to ensure someone came out to service me ASAP (at no charge). A&E calls me 2 days later and says we will be out there this morning to take a look at it, but I would be charged. I explained that F&P was to handle the charges. They said no. The service request mentioned nothing of that. They asked me to call F&P and sort it out so now I have to be acting as liaison between A&E and F&P. I called F&P again and I had to explain the whole situation again. This time the rep tells me they can probably waive the diagnostic fee but thats it. I said no, forget it, Ill go buy a dependable brand. She said she would contact Michael, who was the person that had authorized the request before, and she said she would call me later that day to let me know what she found out. Two days later, no call. I called A&E and asked if F&P has contacted them; nope! I call F&P again and asked for the status of my request. They say, Oh, no one submitted that request. At this point, I have had enough of playing liaison and being a sucker. I just went to Sears, bought a Maytag and have an $800 F&P dryer sitting in my laundry room that I am about to sink into a pond. I have NEVER in my life experienced such incompetence from two companies. I promise you I will never buy any F&P product ever again, and I have already begun spreading the word to my friends and whoever will listen. If you would like to get in contact with me, you can visit my new Facebook page. Dont ever buy a Fisher and Paykel appliance. I and many others are sick and tired of the lack of service this company provides. Your company’s service, along with A&E’s, is horrible!

Phenomenal service from F&P - We purchased a F&P Ecosmart washing machine from Lowe’s in August 2008 at the salespersons behest. We didnt purchase the store warranty as our previous Amana washing machine lasted for 13 years. A few months before the 2-year manufacturers warranty expired, the washing machine stopped working. We contacted F&P and they quickly had it fixed at their expense with a pump replacement. Well, it happened again this week, only now its four years from date of purchase and we have no warranty. So last night, I was surfing the web about problems with these machines and came across this site. I thought wed just be stuck with a lemon since there are so many complaints, so we had resolved to just get rid of the machine and buy another brand instead of having anyone try to fix it. But in reviewing this site, I saw someone from F&P posting to every complaint, apologizing to the customer and giving a phone number to call. So I called the number last night and left a voicemail, not really expecting to hear from anyone. Well, someone from F&P (Lisette) called me back first thing this morning! And less than four hours after speaking with her, I am sitting here at home listening to the sound of my working washing machine again! She sent someone out at F&Ps expense. He replaced the defective pump with a newly designed pump that he assured me should last a very, very long time. He said we shouldnt have any more problems with it at all. So I am quite amazed at F&Ps quick and caring response! So even though we would do a lot more research before buying another F&P machine, I can personally testify that at least they stand behind the problems their machines have! Id like to think that an American company wouldve done the same, but something tells me otherwise. Thank you very much Lisette!

First off, Kathy from Milford, OR, the loud noise in the dryer is the ball bearing (1) on the right side of the dryer as you look at it. Get some white grease and carefully remove and clean the ball bearing, then cover in white grease and even more carefully replace so that the drum, etc. is balanced. The lint contraption is non-functional after each 20th load or so. The lint screen has to be removed and washed by hand and the rest of the unit vacuumed out and then reassembled. After doing this for years, it’s now down to a bi-monthly exercise of 25-30 minutes, including putting away tools and vacuum.Im burdened with too many Fisher Paykel appliances: a double oven, washer, dryer, and double dish drawer dish washer. All in some form of disrepair. The double ovens lower oven stopped working (suspect circuit board), washer has cracked top, control panel buttons breaking, the dryer has had the screen removed to clean so many times the screws are stripped, and the dishwasher filter screen in the top drawer keeps popping up and stopping the sprayer arm from revolving and then I just wash the dishes by hand. All of Fisher Paykel should be closed and customer appliances replaced.

We bought a first generation Fisher & Paykel double drawer dishwasher when we had our condo built back in 2000. We replaced it with a new Fisher & Paykel unit since the one that we had had a lot of quirk things about it and they were becoming too much of a challenge for us to deal with. We chose this model because my husband and I are empty nesters and we liked the idea of having a smaller dishwasher to fill and run rather than having to put every dish we own over a course of two weeks into a single regular size dishwasher. Our favorite feature is its two drawers. One of them is a deeper drawer that can easily handle big plates and platters. Its very quiet. It is water efficient. Its very attractive to look at. Theres nothing about the dishwasher that to me represents either a negative or settling for something. Its just absolutely perfect for us in every way. We are extremely happy with the product.

Our Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawers came in the house when we bought it and we havent replaced them yet. We do have problems with it. Sometimes the lid does not like to open and close correctly. We had a repairman come out and showed us what to do to try and remedy that. And then the top one for some reason will go all the way through the cycle when its on the short cycle but when its on the regular cycle, it stops halfway through. Maybe if they’re brand new, everything would be working okay, but this unit is probably about 8 to 10 years old.

As the technician was packing up to leave, after his or anothers fourth visit in 6 weeks, I asked where his suitcase was. Suitcase? Yes, I said. You might as well stay here because when this oven goes out within a week or so, as before, you will be here ready to fix it. We rarely cook or use the oven but mystery of mysteries when the first part went out then there was a second and a third part strangely out of order. All within a very short period of time. One replacement part never did work. Bad enough waiting on hold for the New Zealand customer service department and being told there was no record of past service calls. To get my dishwasher repaired is a joke, as they say tech will be out between 12 and 5. Hello people work, well get a family member or a neighbors to come over. Hello who doesnt work these days. We agree the tech wouldnt be here before two and rocks up just before two, as I am driving home from work. Missed him by two minutes, but cant come back today, so we all have to live with the smell for another four days. So just remember if you are buying Fisher Paykel you can only get it service by Fisher Paykel. So if it breaks down be ready to have your life put on hold as the world only works around them. As they cant booked times only between half days and be ready for the half hour call before they come out, only if you request a call before they come, otherwise take a sick day as they will just rock up anytime to service it, and if not there too bad. So you can drop what you doing and run out of work at the drop of a hat, half hour before they come. All company really let you do that. So come on Fisher Paykel, get your ** together to help your customers out in a better way. We all have jobs to do, so get your tech to work on a better schedule so they can give us a time and not between five hours. I wouldnt be recommending your products to my friends or family for this reason.

We have experienced unacceptable service delays in getting a repair to our 2.5 year old F&P Washer (Ecosmart). It seemed to work well and does a good job drying out the clothes. We have a Sears maintenance/extended warranty so we had preventive maintenance performed less about 8 or 10 months ago. In mid-November 2011, the washer made an odd noise and refused to spin. We called for service and could only get an appointment for three weeks later (12/6/2011). It was a great inconvenience, especially over the Thanksgiving holiday with family coming to our house. My wife was not happy and had to go to the Laundromat several times. At the 12/6 service appointment, the technician said that it needed two parts (including a circuit board). But he had to order them and they would not arrive for a week. So, the follow-up appointment was set for 12/15/11. My wife was extremely disappointed and expected the washer to be fixed on the 15th. At the appointment on the15th, the technician installed the parts, turned it on, and the circuit board burned out. Now my wife is absolutely livid as it will be another week or more before the circuit board and a new drain pump arrives. She is convinced that repair will fail as well as the tech does not seem to know what he is doing. She demanded that Sears provide her with a rental machine (they will reimburse, but we have to pay up front). She has also announced that she wants a new washing machine when this one breaks again and it wont be an F&P.

I bought a $2500 gas range and it was broken as soon as I took it out of the box. When I turned on the oven, the fan failure light came on, so I couldnt use it. I contacted them and two weeks later, a repair technician showed up. He had to order new parts and two weeks later, he installed them, so I could finally use the oven. Once I was able to use the oven, I discovered that the fan that cools the outside of the oven was extremely noisy and vibrated the whole appliance. I contacted them again and a month later, he showed up with a new fan. He installed the new fan and it didnt make a difference. By this time, I had also discovered that even though I set the oven at 200 degrees, the lowest temperature I could get in the oven was 325. Five months later, he came back with special tape to put around the noisy fan which made a difference. Although it is still a little noisy, I can live with it compared to the racket it was making before. He also brought a new thermostat and spent hours installing that. It didnt fit, so the oven knob doesnt fit on right, I have to leave the escucheon off to put the knob on. I cant light the oven with the knob on. I have to turn to the desired temperature, pull off the knob, stick my finger in the hole and press the thing in to get the oven to light. It still didnt fix the problem with the oven and now three of the burners dont work. I bought this stove in September 2010. Its now December 2011 and the problems keep getting worse. All of the delays are either from their representative not getting back to the repairman, or the parts being back ordered for months at a time. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I would not recommend this brand to anyone - the oven doesnt work properly; only two out of five burners work and repairs have been dragged out for fifteen months.

I chose this counter depth refrigerator RF175WDX1 as part of a kitchen remodel. After 3 months or so, all is good. It is quiet and looks good in the kitchen. I purposely chose this model without water & ice, but the one thing I would suggest is a separate, narrow shelf for ice trays.

I, too, was coerced by a salesperson at Lowe’s to pay a huge sum for a washer/dryer set. When delivered the dryer did not work after 3 days. I only agreed to them bringing a new dryer. The dryer does not dry well and always taking twice as long as the washer, even though I am vigilant about keeping lint traps and piping clean. Now it is making a high pitched whining sound--bearings? The washer is constantly out of balance even though it is level and on a concrete floor. It spun clothes nearly dry when new, but now I sometimes run the spin cycle a second time to remove more moisture. Thought I would read reviews before calling the repairman. I now think I might go shopping instead of throwing more money at a hopeless situation. I will never buy this brand again and long for my old Maytag set.

Horrible, horrible machine. I purchased a washer in 2007. The diverter valve had to be replaced within one year. Next, the pump failed; water leaked everywhere and shorted out the computer. We waited several weeks for replacement part. That pump failed as well. Another new pump was replaced in March 2011, and now the machine is leaking again. The water is coming from the pump. We called F&P customer service, and after discussing our problems with F&P, we were shocked to learn that you cant use bleach in these machines. To me this seems like someone selling a lawn mower that cannot cut grass. I will never buy an F&P product again. Ive read F&Ps responses on this site, and their responses are wholly unsatisfactory. Sure machines will need maintenance and repair, but I think a machine is inherently defective when its cost of repairs exceeds the purchase price within a short period of time.

We bought the Fisher Paykel dryer at Lowes after being told it was one of the best dryers on the market. Soon after, we had problems with the way it dried (not drying many loads) the control panel cracking and breaking and we couldnt even turn it on. Now it is making the squeaking noise which is probably the bearing. It is now out of warranty and to fix it I could invest in a better dryer than have to pay to have it fixed every year. The technician keeps saying to us as, “Well, that it is the vent, etc.” I had other dryers using the same vent for more than 20 years and they worked just fine until they were older than 10 years. It is not the vent.

We purchased this fridge about six months ago and we are extremely disappointed with the quality on this product. The Stainless steel is so thin on it that when you actually close the door by hand if you dont use the handles if your ring or anything touches it it scratches and puts a dent in it right away. Stay far from this product and if youre in Canada stay away from Trail appliances in Edmonds Fine Appliances. They said all this is normal. If you have kids definitely stay away from this. This is not the the same Fisher Paykel that was an Australian company, it now owned by Haier Group out of China. Quality is the worst ever.

Never F&P again. Lowes farms out service and they never report to F&P, so they have no record of failures. I see many posts with same problem with dryer, so it seems it’s a design defect. On 10/4/12, I posted a complaint regarding my F&P refrigerator. My refrigerator was 4 y/o and the display panel & water dispenser broke. Three days later, I received a call from Lisette, Customer Service Manager for Fisher & Paykel. She understood my frustration and assured me she would contact a local repair business. The repair service did not work out well, so I called again and Lisette assured me she would take care of everything to my satisfaction. She contacted a different repair service that did a fantastic job and F&P paid for all of the parts. I cannot say enough about F&P Customer Service and especially Lisette. She was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this company and appliance. I have purchased many brands of appliances throughout my lifetime and I have never had such a positive experience as I did with this company. This has restored my faith with the customer service of large companies, thanks to Fisher & Paykel. If they can deliver such incredible service, why cant other big name companies? Thank you, Lisette, for all of your assistance!

On the dryer I have replaced the plastic knob and the inside of the dryer is all cracked and peeling. I have had my water checked but these are the only appliances with a problem. Quality of plastic parts below zero. My Miele dishwasher is fine. I called F & P and the customer service rep suggested that I use harsh detergents, but I just use All detergent. No help. I went to Warners Stellian here in the Twin Cities. I asked what are my options for a 36-inch unit. I had no background on Fisher & Paykel. I got their 36-inch stove. It works, it heats up to temperature. The burners on top are a little bit more aggressive. I would have liked to have a different simmer burner than what I have on there but all things considered, I would give it a 9 out of 10. It is beautiful. I didnt buy it originally because of cost. Its truly a beautiful piece of equipment. I would definitely consider, its a beautiful artistic design and it looks absolutely stunning in my kitchen. It was nineteen years before I got a kitchen remodel and it is a beautiful piece.. Theres a glitch for some reason - if I start the burner on top, it can turn the oven off, I have to be real careful for that. Im not sure why, I should probably check into it. But this is what I like the best out of it and Ill be honest with you - the oven heats to temperature PERFECTLY. And I have such a respect for that because thats what its supposed to do. Thats why you buy an oven! That Whirlpool took an hour to heat to 300 and you have to set it. You dont have enough paper to write my comments on that one.

But the washer broke out unlike the one we got from Fisher & Paykel, so we purchased from Fisher & Paykel again. Compared to the past model we had, this one is good. We have a friend who had a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher. Ours had broken and the man who sold the two drawer dishwasher to us encouraged us to buy it as well. However, we dont particularly like it. The design is awful. We can hardly put any dishes in there. We have to run our dishwasher several times more than we would have to run a traditional dishwasher. You can put eight glasses in, and only a certain number of dishes and it has to be the right shape and size. Its really a pain. We wouldnt have purchased it. If we knew what it was like to live with it, we wouldnt do it again. We have another dishwasher in another home that we own, and that dishwasher is a much lower-end brand and its just a much better performing dishwasher too. Even when the dishes come out, we frequently have to put them back in again or wash them again.

It doesnt have any lights on it anywhere, it just beeps, and it wasnt working when we first got moved in but they had somebody come out and fix it and the customer service was incredible. My sister-in-law actually has the double drawer model and when she found out I had one she said, “Oh, you will love every bit about it. And when the top drawer stop working I did not wanted to call the factory service because I thought about the high cost of factory service calls. What a mistake that was. After checking with several local appliance companies I finally located one that said that they did work on Fisher Paykel dishwasher. After three visits during one month and after replacing several parts the serviceman finally gave up and said I cannot fix it, please call the factory service.I did send an email to Fisher Paykel service department and I received an immediate response confirming my request and 2 days later the service call was confirmed. The friendly service man arrived early (something very unusual for servicemen). It took one look at the dishwasher, did a five-minute software diagnostic, remove the front cover of the top dishwasher and point at the control box and said that is what is wrong. One small plastic tab of the control box was broken and the box was loose. He explained that because the age of the dishwasher the plastic becomes brittle and started to break. Gave me the price of the new box, very reasonable and mentioned he had one on his truck. He went ahead to get the new box. Close the cover, tested the dishwasher and he was out to the next service call in 20 minutes. It cost me $330 for a job well done. Great service and if you have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher do not call any other than the service department of Fisher Paykel. Great service. Thank you.

Five and a half years ago, I purchased a Fisher Paykel Aerotech oven from Lowes. This evening, I cooked a pizza on the Aero Pastry setting per the oven manual. I turned it off and my family sat down to eat. We finished eating and were getting ready to go to the pool when my husband decided it was too late and we would stay home instead. Lucky for us because when he looked at the oven, he noticed flames on the inside of the inner cover shooting out. He ran downstairs and turned off the breaker and I threw baking soda on them. After the oven cooled, he took off the back plate and the heating element was cracked and melted. If we had left and not looked inside the oven, we would have come home to find our dog dead and everything we owned gone. No, Im not happy at all.

I purchased three F&P appliances in 2005 (double drawer dishwasher, a washer and dryer). All three of them have been a total waste of money, for each one has had problems which make them irreparable and problematic. When I purchased the F&K washer and dryer my main concern was the fact that both units were controlled by the electronic board. The salesman replied that this should be one of the significant advantages due to the fact that if something went wrong with the washer or dryer they simply send out a replacement electronic board for about $75. All I would have to do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one. How far from the truth that was. They never mentioned that the only repair service company was one person in the entire Houston, Texas market that ended up knowing less about the product than me. And besides, they charge you $75-$85 just to come out and diagnose the problem. After doing so with the washer, they said that it was the electronic board and they would have to order. When the board came in they replaced it. It still did not work and they said the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost that far exceeded purchasing a new washer. Needless to say, I was smart enough to send the new F&K packing to my backyard graveyard only to replace it with the very old Maytag washer which I had taken out just due to its poor visual appeal. Boy have I learned. I would much rather have a dingy, slightly dented beige workhorse of a washer as in my Maytag, which is older than me, than this new updated F&P laughing stock of an appliance. Let me say if I was the F&P Marketing Director and I saw comments as numerous and detailed as the ones I saw on this site, I would set out to make things right with these customers. Secondly, my F&P dryer just all of a sudden stopped heating. So I decided to look at this website prior to calling the no-use of a repair service that F&P has accredited with the worthiness to repair its appliances. Well, I only wish that I had found this website prior to my purchasing these F&P products. What worthless pieces of useless technology. I think the woman early put the entire frustration into place when she said her mother used an old tub and ringer system and at least at the end of the day she was relaxed. I have to agree wholeheartedly. I think I am going back to washing in a tub and ringer and then putting them out to dry on the line if this is the best consumers can expect. Now I know why my mom only purchases Kenmore. She said they were totally reliable and that Sears always stands behind their product. Since having to do my laundry there now for the last year due to my unsuccessful purchase, I think I have to finally give in to my mom that said, I told you so!The last appliance (and thank God someone talked me out of the refrigerator or I would be writing in about 4 instead of 3 appliances) is the double drawer dishwasher. Now, how a service repairman can tell me that the reason the top drawer tends to stop after 20 minutes of washing and start beeping like it is off balance is due to operator error I do not understand. On top of which he said it can be attributed to the dishwashing detergent selected. Now, I am a Cascade man and that is the only detergent I have ever used since learning early on during my college years that nothing works better. And thank God because when the dishwasher finally makes it through the washing cycle at least I know they will be sparkly! Not necessarily clean because this dishwasher has to be the worst at cleaning dishes. I installed a cheap GE Dishwasher in my butler’s pantry, which I now find myself hauling dishes from the Kitchen to the butler’s pantry to avoid using the F&P because the cheap GE washes faster, better and quicker than the F&P ever did or would ever be able to do in the future. It seems that after starting the dishwasher, which was installed in a newly renovated 100-year old historic house that is on pier and beam, it seems to stop and start beeping each time you walk into the kitchen during its cycle. It starts immediately and begins washing again after opening and shutting the drawer and hitting. I mean, I waste more time opening and closing the drawer to ensure that my dishes are clean than I would if I simply washed them by hand. So from my experiences, that is enough. Being taught from a young age that three strikes equal an out, F&K that was the last pitch and you are out!

But I would say what I love the most about it is that the way it spins then still dry. Its a nice washer and dryer. But I do wish that you didnt have to do the whole rinse cycle for it to spin.

I have owned a top loading F&P (Ecosmart) washer and dryer since October 2008. They worked great until the warranty ran out. My dryer stopped drying clothes and had a repairman come out to discover that it needed to be reset. Now, it is starting to still leave clothes damp, even when using the extended dry. My washer within 2 weeks stopped working as well. The repairman came out and stated that the pump needed to be balanced and could possibly go out. Within 3 weeks, the pump on the washer went out. I had the repairman come back out and he had to order the part. 2 weeks later, he came back out and installed the new pump. Now a month and a half later, the circuit board is starting to have problems. I can no longer use the regular cycle which by the way is the cycle that is suppose to try to re-balance a load if the washer thinks that it is out of balance. So what is F&P going to do about these issues? By what I have read, absolutely nothing. They will call and try to make a nice attempt at resolving the problem but are they going to purchase a new washer and dryer for me or replace the ones I have? I highly doubt it. I will never buy anything that has the name F&P on it again.

During a full kitchen renovation we needed a fridge of unusual dimensions. Fisher & Paykel had one that would fit and so we decided for aesthetics we would purchase the same brand for the induction range. It’s an expensive decision that we came to regret. Within a few months, we realized the oven wasn’t achieving the temperature it was set at and constantly ran up to 30F below the temp showing on the display. After the second call, maybe the third, we were told that we’d have to learn to mentally calculate what temperature to set the oven to depending on what we were cooking. $5000 for an oven that was less predictable than a much less expensive unit. The induction cooktop was really good, efficient, no problems but after the fourth service call, several parts replaced and eventually 6 weeks without an oven or cooktop because the temperature control failed spectacularly and the entire range had to be disconnected over Christmas while the parts were on back order, it was eventually repaired successfully, but it required an entire new motherboard and sensor, and two years of aggravation. For this reason, I will never again buy anything from Fisher & Paykel.

I purchased a Dish Drawer dishwasher for a kitchen remodel in 2008. I was lured by the fact there are two (2) independent washer units; one on top of the other which allowed flexibility in cleaning as well as potential addition kitchen utensil storage. Troubles began within the first 90-days. I have summoned kitchen appliance repair companies listed as authorized by Fisher Paykel numerous times with the last service attendant indicating there are serious design flaws with the appliance. At this date the following had been experienced: The bottom dishwasher unit is completely non-functional, the touch wash controls in the operating unit do not work correctly; and now are stuck in one washer cycle. I was informed by one of the techs that came out there is a design flaw that allows water to seep into the controls. For $1,500 for a dishwasher I would have expected more. What is more alarming is the sales rep when I bought the appliance indicated the manufacturer also made kidney dialysis machines. If this is the case (and my research indicates this is true) there are numerous fatalities if the quality of the dialysis machines is the same as the Dish Drawer. Do not under any circumstances purchase anything this Company makes. The quality is terrible!!!

We were getting a new kitchen installed last May, and after much consideration had gone with almost all Fisher and Paykel appliances. Unfortunately our son had an accident in the kitchen mid Sept shattering the front piece of glass on the oven door. We called Services about a replacement which was showing available online but it took a whole week of ringing every day only to be told that there was no stock of the glass part or a whole door and they couldnt tell for sure when it would be available. Well its 4 weeks now and we have called repeatedly and emailed customer care as well to no avail. Polite and sorry as they always are when speaking on the phone or responding in their emails, the staff seem to be at a loss for a resolution. There seems not to be an answer from the technical team here in the UK which is totally mind boggling for a supposed reputable and growing company. We are sorry that the only people we can speak with are helpless and taking the flak for F&Ps poor services. How does Fisher and Paykel actually function in their after-sales care or do they actually care for their customers? If only we had known this, we would not have kitted out our kitchen with so many F&P appliances. But now that our architect, builders and friends see what we are currently facing, no one is likely to use or recommend the use of F&P appliances. Its a real shame, good products but poor organisation. We have decided the next step would be to refer case to the Ombudsman.

We purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and top loading dryer 4 years ago when we built a new house. We were assured by the salesperson of the quality and how they have very little maintenance issues. After a year and a half, we had to replace the heating element and fuses (luckily under warranty) and this took 2-3 weeks for them to figure out was wrong and repair (said it was fixed twice and had to return). Here we are 2 years later, and we had to replace the heating element and fuses again. So this time, it is over $350 out of our pocket since we are out of warranty. The heating element for a dryer should last for more than 2 years and this is obviously a design flaw or something. When my old washing machine started leaking and my worry-free contract with Public Service Electric and Gas can’t fix it, I decided to go to Lowe’s and look for a replacement. The Fisher & Paykel washing machine was on clearance because it was the last one, so I ended up getting it for $329. I hadn’t heard of the appliance. I wasn’t looking for that specific brand. When I came home after I bought it, I did some research on it. I have no complaints with it. I’m single and don’t do a lot of washing, a couple of loads every couple of weeks. It seems to work fine. My Fisher & Paykel washing machine is reliable and energy-efficient.

When an appliance fails, I always believe that the best service you will get will be from the manufacturer. Hence my dish drawer started to make a troubling buzz. I booked a service online with Fisher Paykel, the manufacturer. I received an email that allowed me to track my service. I had booked a service for between 12 and 5pm and the initial time came though as 12-1pm. Immediately this isnt great as its slap bang in the middle of the day, but I requested it so I just reworked my day. Around 10am I got an update that said between 2pm and 3pm. OK, excellent I could now work out what I needed to do around this.At 2.38 its still saying between 2pm and 3pm and then I got a call from the engineer, telling me he has 4 jobs in front of me and wont be here until 5.30pm. Seriously? I called customer service and clearly they say that the app is only giving me a guide time, but why not update it? If the engineer knew his status was 5.30 at 2.38pm, it wasnt between 2-3pm at 1.59pm, was it?I then pointed out that beside this, the engineer would miss my time slot anyway, as 5.30pm is not between 12-5pm. They then offered to reschedule me, but heres where the damage really is. Fisher Paykel I NO LONGER TRUST YOU. Why would I put myself at the mercy of your poor customer service and time keeping again? Why would I allow you to disrespect my day so much by not telling me or keeping me up to date on the time of arrival. As I pointed out, the supermarket can tell me to the minute when they will deliver and they generally get it right. I will always trust them. This is the battle for customer service. Its about trust and Fisher Paykel, YOU FAILED ME. I do not want to deal with companies I cannot trust. Its up to you if you use their service.

The experience with this company and product is pathetically poor. I had bought a dishwasher model dd603 and since its install it has never worked for one day. It had several service calls by the local dealer. The last person said it is not worth fixing it! I am requesting the company to just come and uninstall this junk and keep it to themselves as a trophy.

I had a Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher, and when we upgraded our kitchen the theme was steel. We just went with the same brand because we really liked it. I liked the style and the refrigerator seemed to have the most room inside it for a counter-depth refrigerator. I had a counter-depth fridge before and you couldnt get anything in it. It was ridiculous. This one just seems to have a lot more room because the water and stuff are not bulky in the door unlike other refrigerators. The Fisher appliances are nice, with clean lines. We dont need all the bells and whistles. I just want things with space that are clean and seem to work really well. I love the gas range. It seems to have lots of space inside the oven. I enjoy the appliances. Im pleasantly surprised with them.

I have the dish drawers and both handles have broken. I know how to open the dish drawers as I had dish drawers prior to getting these except that handle was one piece on the door. I was concerned when I got these dish drawers as several of my friends that I had talked into getting Fisher Paykel dish drawers had the same thing happen to them because they are made out of cheap plastic! This was the only reason I did not want another Fisher Paykel. I loved the one I had before because you have enough room to keep your dishes done rather than the one dishwasher that you can never fit all the dishes in a load. I called Fisher Paykel and they have not been helpful at all, not did they seem interested in doing anything about it. They know how cheap these handles are and when they are broken. You cant open the dish drawer. Both are broken and I do not let anyone load my dishes except me because I knew what happened with my friends dish drawers. I loved my first one that lasted 9 years without a problem but when I called the service man out, it ended up after 400 dollars where they were replacing parts and something else was going wrong, I decided enough was enough -- they said they could not fix it so I wanted another set but I will never get anything Fisher Paykel anymore. They used to be good and stand behind their product but now they just build a cheap machine and charge a large price for it. My timer is already not working correctly and it even changes the settings all by itself. I had no clue after only 3 years I would have such a piece of junk!

We bought a dual drawer Fisher & Paykel dishwasher in 2009 for a house that we were building. Due to problems with the builder, the dishwasher sat unpacked in a garage for a year. When it was finally installed, it didnt work! First, the bottom drawer didnt drain. We called a plumber to come look at it. He called the Fisher & Paykel appliance rep. They recommended that we install two separate drain lines. It still didnt drain. The appliance guy and plumber each came out again and we even tried a different plumber. Now the bottom drawer drains but the top one doesnt, which completely defeats the purpose of having a dual drawer dishwasher. We contacted Fisher and Paykel and Lowes where we purchased the appliance and neither would offer any assistance as the warranty had expired. We have only used the machine 20 times. Its such a shame and waste. Our KitchenAid dual drawer dishwasher at our old home worked much better with no problems. We had bought this one because we were told it was quieter. It is quieter because we dont use it

I was first introduced to Fisher Paykel dishwasher drawers about 6 years ago. They were two drawers placed separately on either side of the kitchen sink. They were really wonderful and I had no problems with them. I then bought and renovated two new homes and put fisher paykel dishwashing drawers in both homes. They are the stacked drawers. Have not had problem with them except the bottom one started leaking and the top one smells horribly of mold. I feel it in my lungs every time I breathe in the air after opening the top drawer. I called customer service and spoke to someone from New Zealand (very difficult time understanding her) who said that I should use let it shine from Home Depot and run it through a cycle. Well this did not help so now I have to endure this terrible mold smell every time I open the top drawer. After this experience I am very doubtful I would ever buy another fisher paykel product.

I love this fridge, very sleek design, bought it for the quality and light stainless steel look. However, the original door had a dent in it and that is where it all started. It took 4 months for the service centre to replace it, only to be a different quality stainless, visibly darker shade/lower quality stainless (rough to the touch) than the original. Now I have a brand new kitchen with a horribly looking fridge. Almost a year later, I have to constantly follow up with FP customer service, who promised me a call back which never happens. This is how you ruin a perfectly great brand by horrible customer service.

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

This 2020 model 9kg heat pump dryer simply will not dry sheets. It tangles them in a ball, dries them for 2 hours and they remain damp. Even if you run successful cycles, they continually tangle and take many cycles to dry (and I taking just 2 sheets - not heaps). Towels are also very slow - several hours, but they do eventually get there. To do your washing takes a whole day with the endless problems - untangling sheets and re-running the cycle. Plus there is zero customer support. *If* you can get through, you get some poor chap who doesnt speak English well and he cannot help you. Hopeless. I have been a loyal F&P customer for 30+ years but will never buy another appliance from them. I assume that since Haier have acquired a controlling interest, but have also stated that they want the Haier brand to be the premium brand, that they are deliberately letting the F&P brand go in to decline.

My granddaughter was getting married and moving into a home and needed a lot of help with outfitting it so I gave her my old washer and dryer. So then I went out to an appliance store looking for a new washer and dryer and found out about Fisher & Paykel. I had good recommendation from the owner who told me that’s what he had at his house so I chose to buy this brand and I’ve been very satisfied with my first F&P washer and dryer. Really, there are some things that are much better than the previous ones we’ve owned - I think that they spin water out more and the clothes are dryer when you take them out of the washer to put them in the dryer. They don’t have as much water in them so less dry time.

Our F&P refrigerator stopped working while we were on vacation and when we got home, we called the F&P dealer. They told us it was 2 months out of warranty and we should call any repair service we choose to fix it. Our repairman told us the motherboard had burned out (you could see the soot) from a power surge which could have been prevented by a surge protector. Cost to repair is $448. No one at the appliance store told us we should have a surge protector. There is no information on the refrigerator or on the power cord to recommend one. The installers just plugged it in and that was that. I hold F&P responsible for not letting us know about the need for a surge protector. To make matters worse, the motherboard for our refrigerator is back ordered. We will be without a refrigerator for two or three weeks until it comes in. That seems an unconscionably long time to wait without a refrigerator. Evidently F&P has problems managing their parts inventory and about servicing their customers. After this I called F&P in New Zealand on the advice of the repairman. He thought they might pay for a new mother board. Turns out I should have called an F&P authorized repairman first. No one at the F&P dealer told me that. I had already paid for our repairmans first visit and he took the motherboard with him to see if he could get a temporary fix (he couldnt). So I asked for the phone number of the local F&P authorized dealer so I could explain what had happened. I was told that they wouldnt give me his phone number because of privacy issues. I cant make any sense of that: a refrigerator repairman who wont give out his phone number? What kind of repairman is that? Our cat got sick and will require refrigerated meds for 10 days. Thats a hassle without a refrigerator. But the person I talked to at F&P never acknowledged that the breakdown of their almost new F&P product was making my life difficult or expressed any empathy or sympathy at all. It was like talking to an attorney, not a customer care rep. Maybe thats the way they treat customers in New Zealand, but it sure doesnt go over very well over here.

From day one it was not washing properly and was told by a number of engineers that it was the powder, then was told the dishwasher tablets formula had been changed. Was also told to put the tablets down the side of the draw. They tried to change the settings 3 times and it still don’t wash properly. My grandchildren have been in hospital with bad stomachs and we have put it down to the substandard dishwasher. We were told they would replace it and had a call from them but they have never come to replace it. I have called them at least 20 times and emailed with no outcome. After a great deal of research, I learned this refrigerator has the least depth of any other on the market that includes a water dispenser. This is due in part to the fact the ice maker is not contained on the door; the icemaker is contained in the bottom freezer. Yes, you have to scoop out the ice manually, but the depth space savings is worth the trade, and the chilled water dispensed doesn't require ice. Although I initially thought it pricy for a refrigerator, it was my only option for the space in my kitchen. I ordered it on a Sunday evening and it was in my kitchen Wednesday afternoon. I love this stylish and sleek refrigerator!!! While 17 cubic feet may seem small, it is an ideal size for most families. In most cases, the items stored in the back of a refrigerator are forgotten or the space isn't really used anyway. There is so much shelf space that I was able to get more in this refrigerator than my previous larger unit. I was surprised to find that the water filter is not contained within the unit. The filter holder mounts to the wall, or, in my case, an adjacent cabinet, and just the water line attaches to the unit. This perhaps goes with the philosophy of no wasted space in the unit. I opted for a three year extended warranty for just over $100, but I am optimistic I won't need it. I'll update this rating if I have problems with the unit, but so far I have absolutely no regrets.

On 10-3-09 we purchased the FP HE model #WL37126KW2, serial #NYU790706. In October 2012 we noticed dark dirty streaks on our clothes. Some clothing never did come clean. Dark clothes appear to have white streaks like large amounts of soap havent been removed. Ive tried different detergents and numerous cleaning cycles. Thank the dear Lord we purchased the extended warranty! Since October 2012 weve had 7 repairmen and 3 parts replaced. The last repair was on Wednesday, 4-17-13. The 2nd load of clothing came out exactly like it did the very first time in October. Are you kidding me!Now another repairman on 4-26-13 and then Im assuming another part. I have no idea what part hasnt been replaced! After 4 new replacement parts and still having the problems, we will get a gift certificate from Lowes for a replacement. You can bet it wont be FP! Ive spoken to FP directly, Lowes and the warranty company numerous times. I am totally fed up with this whole situation. I will never buy another FP. No good reviews will come from my mouth for FP!

Our experience was extraordinarily good. I was impressed. The equipment is nice, the design is nice. I’m an engineer so I say this. But the brand name on the outside is DCS. We bought the six-burner gas oven, too. And we just bought a new oven for our rental property. There’s only a couple of companies in the world that I’d recommend for appliances at all, and Fisher & Paykel is one of them. The service and the people that sold them to us in all cases, we bought several, were first class. The people were knowledgeable, thorough, responsive, and the stuff arrived on time. The pricing was very competitive and the quality of the devices is, from a mechanical perspective and electronic perspective, excellent. And in terms of its user friendliness to my wife who uses them most of the time, the biggest problem with the dishwasher is you can’t hear it. The wonderful thing about the six-burner stove is it has a simmer control and most stoves don’t have that. I was a professional chef and so I know the Viking and Garland brands pretty well. And the DCS stove comes as close to a Garland as you’re going to get at a very good price. And that’s very important to know because people don’t understand. Most people aren’t chefs. So the stuff has been super. I’ve been very pleased. Keep up the good work because remember, the two most important things in the world are that they should work but the customer service has to be first class and it always has been. My wife’s very best friend is building a new house and we recommended all of Fisher & Paykel stuff to her yesterday.

We have the 30-inch double oven and the double dish drawer. We installed both of them at the same time about 6 years ago. We have had a repairman at our home a minimum of 5 times each year for both products. I really am not exaggerating. In the beginning, the work was covered by warranty. For several years, we have been paying out of pocket. Each visit has cost between $100 and $500. We have waited for parts for over four months (seriously, no oven during that entire time). FPs response when I called directly was Madam, other people have had to wait much longer than that. You have to wait your turn for the part. Im not kidding. Its the worst customer service I have ever seen. And alas, our oven is not working again. The repairman is coming again on Monday. Well pay him $75 (again) to look at it.If the required parts cost more than $200 (which they almost always do), then I think we are throwing it in the trash. At the price we paid for the oven, it should have worked perfectly - at least for a few years. Our dish drawer was last fixed about 3 months ago. We havent had any issues since then, which is remarkable for that product, a full 3 months with a functioning dishwasher! I really hope others read my review and avoid Fisher Paykel products. I rarely write reviews, but these are the worst purchases that I have ever made. The products perform wonderfully when they work, but unfortunately, they rarely work. By the way, we are not abusers of the appliances. All of our other appliances (made by other companies) have performed without any issues. Oh, and yes, I have called FP directly many times over the years. Our repair companies have also called as they were appalled at the repeated issues with the products. FP did not stand behind their product at all. Im very disappointed.

I have sent e-mails and called Fisher Paykel only to find that the customer service is the worst I have seen. No one is responding to the e-mails and they kept me on hold for almost 20 minutes. The store where I bought it from has been trying to help but their hands are tied until they get info from Fisher Paykel. 18 YO oven has a broken door hinge, which we had repaired almost five years ago. It is broken again. Part is now discontinued. Oven was several thousand dollars. On 3/24, we purchased a Fisher & Paykel refrigerator from Lowes. We had the refrigerator delivered on 4/6. The refrigerator worked for only two weeks when the power went out completely. We called F&P on 4/20 (the day it went out) and we were referred to a local authorized service provider. We called the the company they recommended and were not able to schedule service until 4/24. The technician came out and found that the circuit board was bad. How can a refrigerator that is only two weeks old have a bad circuit board? The technician ordered a new circuit board on 4/25. It took a week for the part to arrive and he came to install the new circuit board on 5/4.Within a few hours of the technician leaving, we noticed an F11 error, which has something to do with a fan. We noticed, at that time, that the refrigerator was not cooling, although the freezer seemed to be working. We called the technician back and were not able to schedule another visit until 5/9. By the time the technician comes on 5/9, we will be 19 days with no refrigerator. It is simply not acceptable for a new appliance to work for only two weeks. We paid $2,000 for this refrigerator and it has been broken for longer than it actually worked. I called customer service on 5/4 and explained everything that has occurred. I was offered a 3-month extension of the warranty. How does that fix the problem? Why would I want to extend a warranty on something that doesnt even work? I was put on hold to speak with a supervisor and coincidentally none were available. At that point, the representative told me that she looked over my file again and could offer to extend my warranty an extra six months. This is simply not a solution. How does extending the warranty make up for not having a working refrigerator for longer than having a working one, throwing away all of the food we had in the refrigerator, and having to eat every meal out for three weeks? I told the representative that this was not acceptable and I still wanted to speak with a supervisor. So, now my file has been expedited, and she said I should get a call from a supervisor on Monday (5/7). I hope I do. This refrigerator is clearly a lemon and should be considered DOA (dead on arrival). We should be sent a new refrigerator and receive a credit for our loss of use for three weeks.

I purchased a new F&P washer to replace the old one that I have. After delivery and hook up, I found that once you put the clothes into the machine and started the washer, the lid locked until the end of the cycle. I am not able to open the lid without turning off the wash cycle. In the old machine, the lid locked when the spin cycle was on. Now, I am unable to see what the washer is doing or how much it is filling. I called the customer care department to find out what could be done to override this feature during the fill and rinse cycle and an answer from a supervisor, named Bernice, is that I should wash by hand if I am so concerned about how my clothes are being washed. In the past, I have found this company to be difficult when trying to purchase parts; but this goes way beyond attitude. First washer purchased in 2001 had problem going from wash cycle to rinse in 2006. We tried contacting Fisher & Paykel and got no response, no support, and no help! We replaced a diverter valve, and then a circuit board, only to have wasted our money. We wrote a formal letter to F & P Customer Care USA (Irvine, CA) on Sept 21, 2007 letting F & P know that the diverter valve and circuit board only lasted 9 months before it repeated. No response was ever received from F & P Customer Care USA. That pretty sums up the amount of support/customer care you will receive. We liked the technology; and despite the lack of support, customer service, or response, we bought a GW12 and disposed of our six-year-old GWll. No problem with our GW12 from 2007 until 2013. Now, our GW12 is having the same problem! It appears that both of our Fisher & Paykel washers only have a six-year life cycle. I will write another formal letter to Fisher & Paykel Customer Care USA, but I do not expect I will ever hear from Fisher & Paykel. From my perspective, Fisher & Paykel washers have a planned obsolescence of six years, and clearly they lack an infrastructure for support or customer service in the USA. I would recommend that you only buy their products if you like changing your major appliances out frequently. If you do purchase Fisher & Paykel products in the USA, then expect to be on your own with no support or any customer service. One last item, the letters to FP Consumer Customer Care USA contained two emails for response and one mobile phone number. After saving for a few years we purchased a DCS duel fuel range model Rds366ss. The stove was $5695, the vented hood was another $1295 and the back panel and shelf kit was another $395. Since purchased, the oven would heat higher than the required temp and after several tech visits with no results, we decided to live with it, adjusting the temp as we cooked. Then after a couple of years I had to repair all six of the spark igniters. Now after nine years, the stove has quit working altogether and after another tech visit we were told the oven thermostat had failed and needed a new one, part#210766. Calling DCS customer care for a replacement we were told the part was no longer available and there were no replacement parts for it. After checking many websites we found that the part was indeed obsolete with no substitute parts that would work in its place.Calling DCS back and speaking with a customer service tech we were told that maybe the part could be found used online. Another option was maybe we should consider buying another stove! Are you kidding me. After spending all this money on a stove we thought would last at least twenty years, were told we should think about buying a new stove after only nine years. We are so mad at ourselves for not researching this stove before purchasing it and now after reading nothing but negative reviews for the products made by Fisher-Paykel. We are stunned that a huge company like this can getaway with this consumer robbery. Wish there was some way to warn people about buying from this company and its total disregard for customer satisfaction.

I purchased an F&P dryer a few years ago and after replacing the heating elements 3 or 4 times while under warranty and trying to blame me, the vent, or my electricity, which they couldnt support after inspection, and after I ruined a couple hundred dollars worth of clothes when the heating element broke and remained on when the dryer had stopped (not to mention getting burned when I reached in expecting the dryer to be cold since it had gone through is cooling cycle), F &P replaced my dryer with a newer model. Well, the elements on this model have gone out of it multiple times. Yes, my vents are clean, yada yada yada. I did have to laugh that they changed their warranty to 1 year because of their cost in repairing the elements and other parts. They recommended I move my dryer to an exterior wall so that it had an extremely short exhaust run. They also told me they beefed up the elements to make them more durable. Unfortunately, the elements cost more than $80.00 each time they break, and because F&P hasnt been forced to fix the problem, we as consumers are expected to continue to pad their pocket with repair costs. I should add that twice, when a tech was in my house, he wouldnt put my dryer back together to use with one working element because he said it was a fire hazard. Fire hazard! Does somebody have to die before F&P actually addresses this issue? It has been brought to their attention.

I lost my home to a hurricane and decided to rethink refrigeration and dishwashers due to space. The appliance companies that my builder uses carries this brand but mentioned not many people have ordered them so they had no feedback. Searching the web, I found few brands that had “drawers” for refrigerators or dishwashers. So I ordered two drawer dishwashers and one integrated cool drawer from this company. Granted I have had them installed a month so I have had no product issues yet. But the integrated cool drawer indicated in the installation guide that there was a “false” panel for the bottom chassis of the unit (otherwise the bottom portion of the unit was exposes the compressor unit). The stainless steel drawer door was wonderful but then you see the compressor. My builder thought there should of been a stainless steel cover for the compressor. Me too. After three months of me initiating phone conversations, 4 different tech representatives, numerous emails (some said they had a cover to send me, some said they would check), I got ahold of Chana. I personally loved their Australian accents, but Chana’s tone of voice made it clear that even though she was told a black panel was available, she talked to her technical team again and there was no panel available. A false panel, as indicated in the installation guide, needs to be to the specifications of your cabinetry. It is to be built by the carpentry people and most builders understand that terminology. Even though the website isn’t clear and the installation guide isn’t clear that no panel is provided and you will need to build one, she became more frustrated with me when I asked if there were other solutions that her company could provide. Can I buy that black panel? Can we please double check the materials list to make sure there is nothing in there about an aftermarket piece? As an end user, not a builder or installer, false panels are not in my everyday vocabulary. Chana made me feel as though it should of been. My sadness about this situation is not about the fact that I have to go back to builder after three months to have more cabinetry work done but the fact that I had to keep following up for an answer over a three month period and I was talked to as if I should of known better. Like the title implies - I think the products are good just not their approach to treating customers after the fact. That is why they didn’t get a higher rating. The true test that differentiates a good company from a great one is how they treat the customer not only before the sale but afterwards.

Fisher Paykel 30single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven. This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

We purchased a full set of 4 appliances along with extended warranties for a kitchen renovation in 2016. After 5 years, when warranties had expired, only the refrigerator remains in good working order and we love it. The dishwasher never did a very good cleaning job and we had it serviced. (Do NOT purchase the 2 drawer model!) The microwave oven stopped without any warning because the main PCB and line conditioner needed replacement. The interlock assembly on the door also had a fair amount of play in it. Then the induction range slowed down to only 2 working elements until the inverter board completely stopped rendering the cooktop completely unusable. The replacement piece cost was $1800 pre-tax and installation with a 30 DAY warranty! The oven cavity has turned off during use a couple of times which I consider a warning. Fisher and Paykel was unresponsive to communication so I will never purchase or recommend their product in the future.

Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer
Now as you are now aware, the initial report was due to the fridge freezer over icing around the fan area on the rear panel. In memory all that was fixed was the rear panel. The fan cover/vent was not even replaced and was left without one. I dont believe anything was done about the over icing of the back fan area. Then in late September 15 my customer reports the freezer is still defrosting intermittently throughout the many months, but only occasionally. So in September your serviceman visits and says its the door hinge/latch not closing properly causing the light to come on and thus defrosting the freezer. So he fixes it, then the problem continues. So then he orders new hinge latch parts and replaces it and the problem continues. Meanwhile the month and another month has gone by where my customer has a freezer which is defrosting all her food. Food is expensive and she has 6 children and is pregnant. So by now I have spoken to management in your service department a several times to discuss a fast solution. To be informed nothing can be done except send another service man out to fix it.I requested a different serviceman as he has not been able to fix the problem, always stating it is the door hinge/latch. I think he has been there 5 times now. Your management team advises me the serviceman is the person who decides if the fridge can be fixed or not. If he states it cant then the item will be replaced or refunded. (The technician states he is not allowed to report it cant be fixed. He HAS to fix it!!!) So now we are in December the heat is coming in, xmas food needs cooling and the fridge is not keeping the food cold enough either. The lady is pregnant and concerned she may get sick from food/dairy that is not being cooled effectively. So last week I asked management to send another technician. They said this was not possible but they will instruct the technician to ring the service team to discuss the fridge while he was there, to insure the fridge was assessed correctly. To ensure this was going to happen I, the manager of the appliance rental company, attended todays visit to hopefully finalise this ongoing saga. The technician immediately commented on the hinge/latch again.I reported to him that the new parts he replaced did not fix the freezer door coming ajar when the fridge door closed, because I myself checked the problem the very evening he fixed it. And the problem was not any better. I advised of him having to ring the service team while we were all present. He said he had no instruction to do so. But he did, which was a waste of time because your phone service consistently takes close to an hour to speak to someone. I know because I have had to ring this department many times now.So I communicated I dont believe the door is the initial issue. It may be now as it has been tampered with a few times to fix it. Much to his frustration he started to investigate into the freezer. Oh he reports the fan has been intermittently turning off/ not working, therefore this would defrost the fridge slightly and intermittently. I looked in and the fan area, behind the rear panel was solidly blocked with ice, preventing the fan to turn even if it did work intermittently. He says thats ok we will just order all these parts and replace them in a few weeks. When the fan was reported faulty/broken I believe this was the cause of the very first problem back in October 14 and explains why the freezer has been intermittently defrosting. Your technician said it himself. MEANWHILE the lady is losing all her food (which is expensive), the heat is upon us and christmas is here. AND WE ARE STILL WAITING for a fridge to be working. The lady also wants to be reimbursed for food expenses as her patience has also run out. Initially I wanted the fridge replaced. Now after months of ineffective service, I am expecting a refund as it would be bad business to purchase/rent any of Fisher and Paykel appliances simply due to your warranty service procedures. So what to do now? As it is now heading into the 4th month and I think the 5th visit to fix this fridge, and it is still not fixed, I have no more patience. I will not be ringing anymore to be told all you can do is send the technician out again, to assess and fix it. This seems to be the solution even when the fridge is not being fixed. Please consider this email as a formal complaint to be forwarded to the relevant department. Please also be informed I will be sending this email to Consumer Affairs and providing feedback on Fisher and Paykels Facebook on the very poor warranty service provided by your team.I have been continually bumped to alternative team members whom contradict what can be done about FIXING this fridge. I am an appliance rental company whom purchases a lot of appliances. Under no circumstances will I purchase another appliance manufactured by Fisher & Paykel. I will also be informing the 110 franchisees of the ineffective warranty service your company provides. In our business warranty work costs us time, money and sales!

Im a kitchen and bath designer so I know about Fisher & Paykel. We have them in the showroom at the last place I worked, and I inherited that when I bought the display, when we downsized after the crash, and I just replaced it. I put it in my sister and brother-in-laws house, and they love it. Its a great appliance for Californians and retired people who are you know downsizing their homes, as their kids go off to school. Its also great for young couples with kids because they can do one load. The dishwasher is great because of the two drawers. Besides, its a New Zealand product.

After posting a complaint about my Fisher & Paykel Double Drawer Dishwasher, I was soon contacted by Ms. **, Customer Service Manager in North America for Fisher & Paykel. What a pleasant surprise to speak with someone so professional, knowledgeable and interested in correcting the situation. Not only did she apologize for my prior frustrations contacting F & P customer service, she also personally managed the review and repair of my machine. I am delighted to report that the machine has been working without incident for the past month. I applaud Ms. ** for completely turning around my opinion of F & P and Consumer Affairs and for providing a forum for this to happen.
