I recently purchased a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer via the internet. It was delivered via a special trucking company. I paid an additional sum of money for it to be delivered by a special trucking company, unpacked from the box, brought into my kitchen and inspected (as opposed to the unit being drop shipped to my front yard). It arrived in perfect condition. I hired a licensed plumber to install it. While installing the unit, the plumber reported the kick-plate was missing. Then I noticed there were small cracks/marks in the cutlery bins - an obvious product defect. After running the top drawer of the DishDrawer, water started profusely leaking from the bottom of DishDrawer’s top drawer. I had the plumber return to check all the connections, which he confirmed were connected tightly and properly. The leak was coming from the DishDrawer, not from the connections. I called Fisher & Paykel’s customer care and was told that since I purchased my DishDrawer via the internet, they would not honor my warranty! They said the trucking company was responsible for the missing parts and damage (leaking issue). After holding on the phone for 3 hours, I was transferred to the USA supervisor Paul who said if/when an authorized service technician inspects the leaking issue and determines that it is unrelated to delivery, Fisher & Paykel would honor my warranty. Then Paul insisted that I send him a photo of the cracked cutlery bins before even considering replacing them. I emailed him a photo of the damage two days ago and there’s still no response. He said the kick-plate was already being sent to me (but nothing was received yet). I then had a local authorized service technician come to look at the dish and he determined that the leaking was totally unrelated to the delivery of the unit, but it was instead a product defect and that it should be covered under the 100% manufacturer’s warranty. He advised Fisher & Paykel of this. That was two days ago. Today, Fisher & Paykel told the service technician that they are still having issues with honoring my warranty due to the purchase being via the internet. Fisher & Paykel has confirmed that the unit is a genuine Fisher & Paykel unit and the serial number was accepted upon registration, but Fisher & Paykel claims that any internet purchases are questionable and Fisher & Paykel to this date has refused to honor my warranty. I tried to call the USA supervisor Paul this morning and was told he was on the telephone and would return my call in 5 to 10 minutes. That was three hours ago and there’s still no phone call! I am frustrated and very angry. How could Fisher & Paykel refuse to honor the warranty on their unit after confirming the problem is a product defect? They call their customer service line customer care - what care are they speaking of? There is no care whatsoever! They are the absolute worst when it comes to customer service. If Fisher & Paykel refuses to honor my warranty, I plan on reporting them to every possible consumer complaint agency and will seek additional remedies to the full extent of the law.

Fisher Paykel RF48SS - We purchased this $9000 refrigerator new in 2009. In late August the refrigerator portion of the side by side went to 50 degrees - started to make noise. I came to find out that the noise was from the fan hitting the iced up coils. We went to the Fisher Paykel site and decided to call the only factory authorized service company in Jacksonville Florida - Expert Appliance Repair Service, Orange Park FL. This was our second mistake, the first being not purchasing a Sub Zero or Monogram to begin with. Four service calls later and three months later the refrigerator portion of the side by side is still at 50 degrees. To date we have spent $560 while Experts personnel ineptly replaced first the damper then the main board attempting to solve our 50 degree refrigerator problem. Today (11/24/2014) was visit number four, with the replacement of the main board. As you may have already guessed, the refrigerator is still not working. The temperature is still at 50 degrees. I was charged $304.49 for the main control board, a part that is available from Samsungparts.com for $93.82. History:Called for appointment in late August. Told it would take ten days for them to schedule a call. 9/9/2014 service call (ticket **). Evaluated and it was determined that the DC Damper Assembly was bad and need to be replaced. This was determined by tech testing the unit and seeing no reading on the VOM. Charge for the call - $254.57. 9/17/2014 follow-up service call (ticket **). Determined to be a bad control board. 11/24/2014 - returned to replace the main control board (ticket **). Charge for call - $304.49. Temperature after 6 hours has not changed. Turned the unit off and then back on, no change. Im reviewing the troubleshooting instructions online. There is a test procedure to determine the point of failure for this specific problem, and at none of the four visits has this test procedure ever been performed. Recommend you stay with established brands as this has been a nightmare.

The experience with this company and product is pathetically poor. I had bought a dishwasher model dd603 and since its install it has never worked for one day. It had several service calls by the local dealer. The last person said it is not worth fixing it! I am requesting the company to just come and uninstall this junk and keep it to themselves as a trophy.

March, same problem as last one, cycle jammed again, out for 1 week for it to be repaired by cutting away moulding??? April, same problem, insisted the dishwasher be replaced. New dishwasher in 5-5-2015. June, guess what E9-04 fault, dishwasher out again. This unit has been out of order longer than it has been OK. I need this issue resolved as a $1400 investment in a dishwasher with nothing but faults.

I purchased a washer in 2006. It was DOA (dead on arrival) with bad control valve. I replaced it immediately. Since then, we have replaced this valve 3 more times plus pump and control board. The valve went out again today and flooded the laundry room. We are afraid to leave water on since it may never shut off the water flow.

The power of the internet - I would have never guessed that the internet could change the result of a bad experience to a good one, as this was my first experience in writing a complaint online. On July 19, 2012, I wrote a complaint regarding a Fisher & Paykel washing machine I purchased just two years ago and how I had ongoing problems with the machine, starting at about the fifth month. I called the service company twice while under warranty and they were unable to figure out what was wrong with the machine. I have since learned that it was because the company that Sears uses was inexperienced with this product. I also called the Fisher & Paykel main office and unfortunately was turned away as my machine was no longer under warranty. I even tried to explain my experiences and how the service men were unable to repair it. So after two years of frustration with a non-functioning washing machine, we decided to purchase a 30-year old Speed Queen washing machine and take the newer Fisher & Paykel machine to the landfill. Before taking it to the landfill, I wrote my complaint on this website. That was July 19th. On August 3rd, much to my surprise, I received a generic response from Fisher & Paykel asking me to contact their Customer Service Manager. I called the phone number the next day, left a message and the manager called me back. Although she did not personally read my online complaint, she was genuinely concerned that I had a bad experience and wanted to make it right. She offered at their cost to have a local, experienced repair company come to my house to fix the machine. Within 5 minutes, the local repair company called me to set up an appointment. They came out, fixed the machine in 5 minutes with a $15 part. What?! Thats all it took, 5 minutes and a $15 part? How could the other repairmen not get this one right? The total repair, if I had to pay for this service call, would have cost approximately $165. The only reason we didnt take this route to begin with is because we already tried two repairmen and two years of frustration. So, we gave up and were cutting our losses. But now, I have a washing machine that is working flawlessly. Its amazing! Although I didnt get the service I expected from the company in the beginning, it goes to show that a bad experience could change into a good one when someone with authority wants to make it right. Thank you, Fisher & Paykel for coming through on this one. I hope to have this machine for many years to come.

I booked a service with Fisher and Paykel for a repair of my dish drawers, purchased in 2017. The repair cost $334 and it broke 2 days later. When I phoned, the customer service representative hung up on me when I asked for a refund. When I called back, I was only offered a partial refund and I am still $118 out of pocket for a repair that lasted 2 days. The dishwasher cost over $1500 so I certainly expected better. Unfortunately this is not the first issue Ive had either. Beware.

So I purchased a F&P Washer and dryer from a HORRIBLE scammer called Ralphs Appliance in Bartonsville, PA (DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE). The washer fills up with water halfway, then dumps it all out so I cannot wash anything. The water wont stay in. Then the dryer smells so bad as if it is about to blow up. There is a horrible burning smell and it makes my clothes smell like they were on fire at some point! I had a technician come out and he spent 2 hours taking these units apart and changing parts and vacuuming out the dryer element in case there was burnt lint... NOTHING! They still dont work and the lousy people at Ralphs Appliance and Stroud TV & Appliance (ANOTHER HORRIBLE COMPANY, DO NOT BUY FROM THEM) refuse to fix it. I called F&P and these are the only two names they gave me of people who fix these types of units. I have been calling all over and no one seems to know how to service F&P. I do not know what to do but I was told this was a High End brand, but its anything but! I could have purchased an old school Whirlpool and I wouldnt have this many issues. And the washer and dryer are only a few years old!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Thumbs down to F&P.

I bought the Fisher & Paykel top-load washer and a dryer because I dont like front-loads. I got them home and the dryer broke two weeks after I got it. The main component board went out on it. I couldnt find somebody to come out and take care of it. There is no information on what the code represented. And when someone did come out, they didnt have the part. So the store I bought it from gave me a new one. The performance of the machine was very disappointing considering what they cost.

Fisher-Paykel washer, replaced the pump twice. Works great after more than 10 years. Price has gone up, I would look to other brands for a replacement though. This washer is easy to repair and very reliable. I have replaced the agitator once, about $100, did it myself. The design lends itself to easy repair by the owner. I would recommend the deep clean cycle with washing soda at least once per month for optimally clean clothes. Just program the clean cycle, dump in the washing soda and turn it on.

Contacted the Fisher and Paykel Customer Care to repair a 2 year old fridge - no longer working (under warranty). The fridge was removed and taken in for service and a replacement fridge was provided. Our fridge was returned 1.5 weeks later, and we were told it was working. Its not. Contacted the service dept, given the run-around, told it is probably a small repair required and the technician will attend on site - but not for 4 days. Thanks guys. Its 30 degrees out. Love having to deal with a fridge/freezer and 100s of $$ of rotting food.Would have been helpful to at least speak with a manager, or be reassured that given it was their error, or case would be prioritized. Debbie at customer service said nothing can or will be done, was unable to reach a manager, said Josh (the technical supervisor for our area) should get back to us within a day or so. Very reassuring (thats sarcasm). I find it very strange. Dealing with a mistake can be so easy with an apology, acknowledgement, and reassurance. None of which were provided.

On the dryer I have replaced the plastic knob and the inside of the dryer is all cracked and peeling. I have had my water checked but these are the only appliances with a problem. My Fisher & Paykel dual fuel (gas top/electric oven) is by far the worst appliance I have ever purchased. From day one after the installation, the oven wouldnt work properly because of, what I later learned, is a PLASTIC lock which came broken. Without this lock, the sensor believes that the oven door is open and the oven wont work correctly. According to the technician, this lock breaks frequently, and he mentions he doesnt understand why a piece so important is made of plastic. The technician comes back with the part to fix the issue, but when he puts the oven all back together, it seemed that the oven door was no longer centered in place. He said that it should not be a problem, after all, the oven was now working. Although I thought it was a very poor customer service response for an appliance so expensive, I decided to bite the bullet, as I had spent too long without an oven. Despite my compromise, a week after this repair the door completely sunk to one side. As a result, the oven was again non-operational. Another technician comes, this time to tell me that the door hinge had an issue. He didnt have the spare part, so I go another month without an oven.At the day scheduled for the technician to come to install the new hinge, he missed the appointment, allegedly because previous appointments that ran late. So now I have at least 3 more weeks with no oven until he can come again. After weeks, the technician is back. He installs the new hinge, and of course, the door is again not centered. The oven doesnt work properly, because, without a centered door, the locking mechanism doesnt work well. Interestingly enough, he insists that everything is fine, and tells me that the lock is only used for the oven self-clean function, which I should never use because everyone who uses it requests a repair right after due to oven parts that get burned and makes the oven malfunction.Interesting to know that the oven is even worse than I thought, and that the self-clean feature is unusable. But back to my case, even though the lock is not essential, it affects how the door open and closes, and the oven does not work well without everything centered and in place. His answer: I cant do anything about it. Now I call Fisher & Paykel to complain, and their solution? To send another technician. Im now nearly one year without an oven. I simply cant bake anything. So my advice to all of you considering to buy a Fisher & Paykel appliance, believe the bad reviews and stay away from it. I was one of those who thought no, it cant be that poorly made at such a high price tag. Well, it is, and its customer service is just as bad.

My former neighbor had a Fisher & Paykel washing machine and when she no longer wanted to top load and we were moving, she offered it to me and it lasted maybe a year. It was not even a two-year old machine and we had to have parts replaced on it. When we moved in here, I bought the Fisher and Paykel top loading dryer because of its energy efficiency and I had multiple problems with that, to the point where it needed to be replaced and then after it was replaced, the service people had to come back in and they had to take off a piece of the top part that was rubbing on the dryer.I replaced my washing machine with a GE and that has been okay. The dryer seemed okay, but I dont trust it and the only way I got service was to call Fisher and Paykel themselves and speak with the representative there. Fisher and Paykel claimed that the representative that supported this area where I live was having family emergencies. Im also having an emergency when I had a lot of laundry to do that I dont have time to go out a Laundromat to do. I hold my breath, I wont leave the house when the dryer is running. I constantly go in and check it because Im just not certain. It took me seven months of dealing with the problem and then finally they agreed to replace the machine with a new one. Its fine, but I still have little hesitation about leaving it unattended. I dont have the money to replace it. When I do I will.

The repairs were expensive, $500 - $600, I could have paid for a new oven if Id known it would happen twice. The second time this happened, the repairman told me that Fisher Paykel was aware of the defective thermostat and I could have it replaced but the piece alone cost about $500! I am expressing my concern and frustration with Fisher Paykel. I lodged call on the 6/3/2017 as my Fisher Paykel washing machine MW513 was leaking. I did a number of tests to see where the water was coming from and it all directed back to the washing machine. When the washing machine was on high (with clothes in it), it would start leaking from the washing to rinse cycle onwards. (this was clarified to Fisher Paykel on my phone call). When they had initially sent someone out here there was a lot of mucking around and the technician was meant to come on Friday 10/3/2017, he ended going to the wrong place and cancelling my job, which then led to a series of mistakes on FP end. This led to a number of phone calls and a lot of time out from work to rectify their mistake. They then had to send a new technician the following week (16/03/2017), whereby my mum was here and explained and showed the technician the photos and his response to her was when we wash the clothes on high place the same amount of clothes to the equivalent amount of water and do the cycle. When he conducted his tests there was no water leaking, as he never tried it with the clothes inside. He then cut the pipe shorter as he advised my mum it was too long. He then left for the next job. I came home and did exactly what he said (also advised in his job summary report to me) and again, the leakage started. I then called FP and advised what occurred and what the tech said to my mum.Over the phone they were going to take over 1.5 weeks to come and service my machine when I also advised that a small tile was starting to lift and causing water damage. The after-hours lady told me to call back the next business day as she couldnt do anything about it but could only book the appointment in. I called back the next day and advised the same thing, to which the gentlemen said he will make this a high priority (again to no avail and to a number of mistakes where they had a dryer to service instead of washing machine). A number of calls later and a different tech guy came out on the 22/3/2017. When he came I was here and advised him all of the above and advised for him to see the photos which he never wanted to and stated he believed me. He ran two water tests on high and no leakage happened (these were fast tracked from filling up the washing machine to the spin cycle, missing the washing rinse part).I did state to him that the leak ONLY happens when the water and clothes are in the machine and set on high. He still never put any clothes in. His advice to me was to wash my clothes on medium or low and the splash backs will not occur. If that was the case what is the relevance of buying a washing machine to only put the machine on medium and low? After he had left I called the customer service line 22/3/2017 (as clearly I was disappointed, stressed and upset), to which the customer service boy was very rude and basically stated that I am lying. The reason being is I advised him what happened and that I had photos of this and his response was anyone can take a photo and pretend their washing machine is leaking. I do not believe this is the way to address someone who is already stressed out that her apartment is going to flood and cause damage to below / surrounding apartments, as well as my own.I was then told by the same person to wash my clothes again and video it. I said I am a woman and I cannot lift the washing machine as it is heavy and you are now asking me to have the same leak occur and for me to clean up the mess yet again? His response was like yeah. What kind of people are they employing and how can they even think of treating their customers like this and getting away with it? I have already taken numerous time of out of work and constantly have to watch the machine when I wash.I didnt buy this washing machine so I can only place it on a certain level. It is under one years old and only until this year March, the problem occurred. There was no other history and when I made these complaints, it was indirectly stated back to me that nothing is wrong and I felt they thought I did know what I was talking about (deeming as I am woman). But, as my mum and my friend had witnessed, the water was coming from the machine. I will not be breaking my back lifting and cleaning again.I also asked a few times if I can get a cash settlement back and to speak to a team leader (none of which was done or considered at the time of the calls). The reason being is so I can buy a more reliable machine and can wash my clothes on high. I have uploaded photos and receipt of when I purchased the washing machine. I would like to be able to either get a reimbursement for the machine or a better quality machine, as I am wasting heaps of money on water bills. This by far, is the worst customer service I have ever received and do not advise anyone to purchase their products.

We decided to purchase a matching washer and dryer about a month ago. Our previous P&K washer lasted for 15 years! Unfortunately after less than 1 month of operation our dryer quit and we called the repairman and he indicated it needed an update mod done on it. It was showing a 151 fault. We waited about 1.5 weeks for the part to arrive and now today he says that it is the motor and dont know how long it will take to get the part. Plus he indicated that the P&K dryers are on backorder! What has happened to the P&K products which I used to know and love??

When I went in to the store and was looking at different appliances, I liked the Fisher & Paykel. I liked pretty much the whole look of it. So I bought it and read up on it. I made my purchase based off of the reviews that I read about the product. This was my first purchase with them. I got the side-by-side stainless steel refrigerator as I had recently purchased my first home. Compared with other ref models, it was more spacious. It was pretty much what I wanted for the dispensers on the front, and all of that. The price was better so I went with that one.

Purchased a Fisher Paykel dryer in Feb 2013. Six months ago we started getting grease marks on our clothes. I contacted Fisher Paykel and after MANY calls (when they did return my calls), they concluded that I needed to turn the reversible drum off as that was causing issues on these units. I did so, and continued to have the same issues. After going back and forth, Fisher Paykel said there was nothing more they could do. They didnt even send out one of their techs to look at it. So, $700 later and using the dryer for 2 1/2 years, Im out! I WILL NEVER EVER PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM FISHER PAYKEL AGAIN!! SHAME ON YOU!!

F-P Top Loading Washing Machine - I would never buy a F-P Product again. We purchased our machine from a local appliance store. After 3 years, the pump broke because a coin had been left in a pocket and got into the pump. We have been waiting for more than three weeks for the part, and the store said the labor cost to install the new one will be high. A machine that will be ruined by a coin slipping into the pump is not a good design. Also, this machine cannot handle anything but a light load before becoming unbalanced.

So far so good. Had the fridge about a month and we love it. It was noisy the first couple of weeks and settled down quite nicely. Took a few days to fill up ice maker which had me concerned at first. Now if we use a lot of ice it is back to full by morning. Love the lighting and the flush water dispenser. My husband uses it to fill keurig water container.

Our dishwasher was installed during a remodel by the appliance company in August 2021. The top drawer immediately had issues getting stuck on a code during every wash, beeping and stopping the cycle. We had the appliance service come out 4 times with no resolution. Fisher Paykel declined to replace the product stating it was an installation error. The appliance company has come out twice more with no resolution. We have been making due, being patient, because the bottom drawer which is smaller, had been working. Today the bottom drawer malfunctioned, in order to stop the beeping we had to turn off the electricity to the dishwasher. We have spoken to Fisher Paykel on two occasions asking for replacement, the appliance company has taken pictures to indicate this is not a installation issue. It has been a fight to prove this is a faulty product. This is a Fisher Paykel appliance and I would expect them to address the issue. It is now the end of January and we have yet to have a functioning product.

Fisher Paykel washer debacle - For the fourth time in seven years, the entire logic control board has gone out. I had a Kenmore washer from Sears for 25 years and never had a hitch. Whats wrong with these foreign engineers? They cant seem to figure out US power. Each time the board went out, we waited at least three months to get parts and repairs! What kind of service is that? Now that it is off warranty, I am throwing it in the dump with all the other Fisher Paykel land fill appliances. What a waste of money, time and energy this has been. Shame on Lowes for selling this poor excuse for a product. Can you tell Im angry? I trotted down to Sears today and got me another Kenmore.

I have been meaning to write this review to ward people away from Fisher & Paykel ovens (we have a range with an oven underneath, gas). First, they are dangerous. If not blowing up your home is important to you, purchase any other oven. One built by your child may be safer. We had their own representatives into our house over 5 times during the first year of purchase. On one occasion they left a gas leak and then had to rush back to repair it. They would not purchase it back but worse, they wouldnt give us a new oven. The flame routinely goes out in the oven, so something will be baking and all of a sudden, it is not. This creates a new type of cooking anxiety I never imagined. Cant thank you enough F&P!I finally took the time to write this today as I turned off a burner on the range and though the knob was often, the flame continued. The fire was on for 20 minutes before my wife smelled the smoke coming from the pan. My name is Alan **, I am a real person, and happily alive, regardless of what F&P does, I live in New York City, you can easily find me online (they dont let you put your email address in). If I havent convinced you not to purchase this range, please find me and give me another opportunity (unless our oven has killed us). And yes, we are buying a new oven.

I want to start by saying we are very happy (so far) with the GWL11 Washer. It is 6 years old and 1 year out of extended warranty. I called the local factorys recommended shop on Thursday and Baker Appliance came out the next Monday. He ordered the part for regular delivery. A different repairman returned on Monday, a week later, to replace the electronic control unit. They discovered the wrong part was sent. He said the box had the correct part number on it but the part inside was incorrect. Does this happen a lot?My issue is, he told my wife they would ship the correct part the next day. I called them Tuesday to ask about the part delivery. The girl said she would check and call me back but never did. I left a message on Tuesday night and she called me back Wednesday morning and said she didnt have it yet. I called again and explained what the repairman had said. She asked someone in her office about it. She said they werent told and it would be another $50 for next day shipping. I then gave up.Wouldnt Fisher & Paykel absorb the additional cost if they shipped the wrong part? I spent more than $50 at the laundromat over the last 2 weeks. We have 5 people in our home.

I love the quietness of the Fisher & Payker washer. I had heard about them from my brother and I purchased a washer and dryer. We compared them to the LG and my brother has great reviews on how quiet it was and when it came down to it, the sales person said that it was just a little bit above the line than the LG. We thought wed give it a try because we like the idea of it being a quiet experience. This was the first one Ive had without the agitator so it is different and Im still getting used to what setting to use so that it does not wrinkle the clothes so much. We like it so far. I’m getting used to it taking a longer cycle. There is this minor thing. I wish the beeper was louder. Ive got it up to the maximum beep but it’s so quiet I can’t hear it in the other room. Id recommend to anybody to give it a try.

The spin is awesome with the wash almost dry at the end. The top loading dryer is very convenient to use. Dont be upset by the sound of the reversing or stopping drum. It dries quickly with wrinkles removed. My only disappointment was with the availability of service. The service in my area did everything possible to not help me.

I bought a $2500 gas range and it was broken as soon as I took it out of the box. When I turned on the oven, the fan failure light came on, so I couldnt use it. I contacted them and two weeks later, a repair technician showed up. He had to order new parts and two weeks later, he installed them, so I could finally use the oven. Once I was able to use the oven, I discovered that the fan that cools the outside of the oven was extremely noisy and vibrated the whole appliance. I contacted them again and a month later, he showed up with a new fan. He installed the new fan and it didnt make a difference. By this time, I had also discovered that even though I set the oven at 200 degrees, the lowest temperature I could get in the oven was 325. Five months later, he came back with special tape to put around the noisy fan which made a difference. Although it is still a little noisy, I can live with it compared to the racket it was making before. He also brought a new thermostat and spent hours installing that. It didnt fit, so the oven knob doesnt fit on right, I have to leave the escucheon off to put the knob on. I cant light the oven with the knob on. I have to turn to the desired temperature, pull off the knob, stick my finger in the hole and press the thing in to get the oven to light. It still didnt fix the problem with the oven and now three of the burners dont work. I bought this stove in September 2010. Its now December 2011 and the problems keep getting worse. All of the delays are either from their representative not getting back to the repairman, or the parts being back ordered for months at a time. This is the worst appliance I have ever owned and I would not recommend this brand to anyone - the oven doesnt work properly; only two out of five burners work and repairs have been dragged out for fifteen months.

We purchased a new Fisher & Paykel washer and top loading dryer 4 years ago when we built a new house. We were assured by the salesperson of the quality and how they have very little maintenance issues. After a year and a half, we had to replace the heating element and fuses (luckily under warranty) and this took 2-3 weeks for them to figure out was wrong and repair (said it was fixed twice and had to return). Here we are 2 years later, and we had to replace the heating element and fuses again. So this time, it is over $350 out of our pocket since we are out of warranty. The heating element for a dryer should last for more than 2 years and this is obviously a design flaw or something. It looks like we need to replace the machine as we cant continue to pump money into a lemon.

I saw Fisher & Paykel advertised on television. We didnt actually go looking for that make at the time. It was just one that wed come across. It was about what we were after, on sale. But we had looked at them before up in London. We purchased a refrigerator. It didnt start out very good. When we bought it, they showed us a small pinhole dent in the front door which we thought was fine, and theyd reduced the price. When it arrived here, it seemed to have a couple of dents that we hadnt seen before in it. We dont know whether wed missed them or they happened when they were bringing them down. But they brought it in and the controls wouldnt work. It would work as a refrigerator but you couldnt control anything. So we complained to the place where we bought it, and they werent allowed to service it for the first year. We had to get some service people out of St. Thomas. They were good, checked it out, and it wouldnt work. They had to order a new front panel control unit and it took about 2 or 3 weeks. They got it here, plugged it in, and it has worked fine since. The appliance is good once it was operational but the place where we bought it, we wouldnt set foot in the door again because we didnt get very good service.

Never hearing about this product, he convinced me it’s the best out there and their biggest seller. Boy, he was wrong! The washer sounds like a jet airplane when it spins. Sometimes, I have to spin them twice to get all the water out. The bearings in the dryer have been replaced 2-3 times, the thermostat, sensor module, and central module. I bought this washer (Fisher & Paykel Washing Machine) as a highly recommended low maintenance machine. At the least, I am dissatisfied; at the most, angry. I am retired and live on a fixed income. I did research myself as to possible causes of the constant drip of 6 inches of hot water into the tub and the low level screeching of the tub as it spins. As for repair, I was only able to find one resource for a possible part that caused the dripping. When I called, I was treated rudely and they refused to help me and stated Id have to pay a large fee just to have it diagnosed. So, I asked what the charge would be if it was found to need a hot water valve leaking and if the screeching was a bad bearing. I was told the bearings never go bad and that I didnt know anything. Then, the woman from the shop hung up! I love being treated badly! Your customer service is nasty and non-existent!

Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is
Interestingly, the issue I have with the Fisher Paykel washer and dryer is not with getting the appliances serviced. I am fortunate to have a local repair service company that is responsive, trained on these appliances, and does quality work. From the posts I have read, this does not appear to occur often. My issue is with the reliability and quality of the Fisher Paykel products themselves. The washer is model GWL11W and the repair occurred about 12 months ago. As many others have posted, the water pump went out, dripped onto wiring for the computer panel, which in turn caused the computer panel to fail. I was told that this was because of a design flaw and the repair kit incorporated a design change that would prevent the computer panel from shorting out if the water pump should ever go out again. The parts and labor for the repair cost over $400, but given the cost of replacing a high efficiency washer, I decided to go ahead and get it fixed. Granted, the washer was 5 years old at the time, but really, a washer should last longer than 5 years. Now the dryer, model DE08US, needs to be repaired. The timer will not advance in the automatic settings. The sensor bars and sensor board needed to be replaced. This repair, with parts and labor, will come to $387. I have already spent $188 on the prior service call to have the problem diagnosed and have the dryer disassembled, cleaned, and two glides replaced. Given the cost of new dryers, I cannot justify spending what would come to $575 to repair this dryer. The dryer is 6 years old but again a dryer should not cost $575 in parts and labor to maintain within the first 6 years of ownership. At the moment, the dryer is still drying and the timer is still advancing in the timed setting, so I will use it until it stops. Of course, the dryer has now started making an annoying squealing sound, so it will likely stop sooner than later. I should mention that washer and dryer get light usage, 2-4 loads a week, and the loads of laundry are not large or bulky. Even the repair technician commented that both the washer and dryer are well maintained. Yet my Fisher Paykel washer has already cost me hundreds of dollars in parts and repair. If I was willing to invest in repairing the dryer, the same could be said about that appliance. However, that is not going to happen. It was a mistake to spend my hard-earned money on Fisher Paykel appliances and I do not intend to throw good money after bad. When it is time to purchase a new dryer or washer (or any other appliance for that matter), the brand will not be Fisher Paykel. The quality and reliability are disappointing and I wont get fooled again.

In the 3 years we have had a service call on the refrigerator, dishwasher and oven. We have now been without an oven for 3 months. We have had 4 service calls and no one can fix it. It takes about one hour to heat up and then the service guy said it is off 80 degrees. They have finally decided to replace it, on our extended warranty. The question is whether to get another FP. They appear to break a lot and no one can repair them. Thats why I came to this website.

We bought a fridge and a gas stove in October 2015. It is a nightmare. The stove does not have a warm temperature, so even at the lowest, everything burns. No clock on the stove to know if the stove has reached the good temperature, or no button either to program cooking time. Nothing, zero, and everything burns. The fridge? Each time you open the freezer door, it makes an awful noise with the plastic roulettes. The service guy said, The noise will go away in time... In time of what??? Very bad service also. PLEASE, DONT BUY FISHER PAYKEL. Waste of money and quality.

We bought a Fisher and Paykel washer and dryer in Nov. 2005 with the extended warranty from Lowes. After one year I had to have the water pump replaced. After two years I had the pump clog. I have had clothes torn. I had to have repairman come out-total on that visit took two weeks to repair. Now we have a loud noise with the washer. Each year there has been a problem with the washer-now we go onto the dryer. The control panel goes in and out; now have a very loud noise. It doesnt always dry the clothes. The lint screens are torn, which allows the lint to go behind the lint panel and causes the dryer to turn off if there is too much in there. It clogs the whole thing; of course we once again have the repairman on his way, which he thinks it is the bearings or the pulleys in the dryer. I wonder what that is going to cost. Needless to say, we will most likely not have the dryer repaired. We will have to purchase another washer and dryer. I’m so tired of the whole mess. We will never buy a Fisher and Paykel. When you talk with customer service it is like speaking to the wall. There’s no help whatsoever. This company does not stand behind their products. It’s good money just thrown away!

Fisher Paykel 30single wall oven - Purchased new appliances except for a ref about 7 years ago for a Kitchen remodel and used all Fisher and Paykel Appliances. Started having trouble last year w/ our single wall oven. The service technician diagnosed it as the Power Module, a cost of $215.99, only to find out that it was a convection element; so that was an additional $55.00 plus labor. Not to mention it took 6 weeks to get each part so a total of 12 weeks we were without an oven. This year we recently had issues and it was diagnosed incorrectly once again. Finally, we were told it was the Throat Element and could not be replaced. So after 6 weeks of waiting for the part to arrive we had to eat the part we ordered and the cost of 2 service calls only to find out we would have to purchase a new oven. Called Fisher Paykel and we promptly faxed the info they requested but it took a solid week trying to get **, our assigned go to person, to talk to us. They offered to sell us a new model at a 30% discount but did not offer to reimburse us for the money we had been out on parts and labor. Was very disappointed in the appliance, the time it takes to get parts sent from New Zealand, and the staff at Fisher Paykel. Will never spend another penny with them!!

First let me say if I could rate it lower I would. I purchased the dishwasher a little over a year ago at Lowes and I did not purchase a warranty (I have never purchased one on any appliance ever) and I should have. The only reason I purchased it was because of the space I had available in my tiny kitchen. This has been the worst appliance I have ever purchased and I have purchased many. It does not clean well at all. I always have food residue on the dishes etc. I tried different dishwasher soaps and it doesnt make a difference. There is always water on the dishes when it is supposedly finished. I always have to dry them when it is done. WORST PURCHASE EVER. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APPLIANCE AT ALL!!!

Intuitive Eco washing machine. We have endured and continue to experience water on the floor despite two repair sessions by so-called certified and recommended companies. Now we have a Code 52; Repairmen plural cannot diagnose where leak is coming from. Repair service is slow in San Antonio and very poor at best. Washing machines are a need, this unit is headed for the junk yard! We bought a new washing machine yesterday to replace this awful Fisher Paykel washing machine.

The other day, my husband was doing laundry and part-way through the load, the washer started beeping and stopped working. He then called the customer support center and got the name of the Fisher Paykel dealer here in town to see how much it would cost to get it serviced. While he was on the phone with the customer support rep, he was told that based on the lights that were showing up it was an error code 346, but was not told what that meant. This morning we called to see what it would cost to have someone come out just to look at the washer and were told he would cost $75! I think that is a large fee, considering we live in the same town less than a mile away. Today, I was looking online and read that the warranty was usually around 2 years. Im sure our washer wasnt 2 years old, so I called the customer support number myself, after taking down the model number, to find out if the washer was still under warranty. The guy on the phone was not able to tell me if the washer was under warranty or not. He didnt even offer to take down the serial number to see when the washer was made, but told me to call the store we purchased it from to see if they still have a record of when the purchase was made. We purchased this washer from Sears and shortly after we bought it, they stopped selling this brand. What should we do if they do not have a copy of the receipt? I dont even think our bank records go back any further than a year online. I have searched to see if I could find the transaction, but have not been able to. I would hate to buy a new washer after only owning this one for less than 2 years, and really dont want to pay $75 just to have someone look at it and then pay for repairs on top of it.

Our very expensive F&P washer and dryer set, has had serious problems for the last few years. Washing machine cant run a cycle without stopping over and over again and having to reset it. Dryer periodically has to be unplugged just to turn on and it is also making weird squealing sounds and sounding erratic when running. Just to name a few problems. I have tried and tried to contact the company to find someone who can come out to look at, and possibly repair, the machines. But, the company doesnt even reply to my attempts to get in touch with them. Nothing, no reply, no help, no follow up, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER. It is pretty ridiculous to have machines that were in the highest price bracket, start failing after only about 5 years. And it is even more ridiculous for a company to not even reply to its customers when they reach out for assistance. Very disappointed.

My Fisher Paykel product experience has been terrible and I would not recommend their fridges. I purchased an integrated fridge from this luxury appliance store and am currently now on my 4th fridge because of defects with the previous 3. The last 2 fridges had issues with their fans. Fixing the fan onsite however did not resolve the problem with the 3rd fridge. This has been a huge headache, with some items on the lower shelves freezing and others on the top shelf spoiling. Installing each fridge is also a whole day effort since it is integrated into the cabinetry. I am now waiting to get a 4th fridge but given my experience, I have no faith in the quality of this so called luxury product. I asked for a discount given this extraordinary (some might characterize as ridiculous) experience but of course was denied. I was only offered a one year extension of warranty on a product that I am doubtful of.

7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so
7/28/14 I have not been able to find any good reviews of this product, so I'm going to do my best to give one to help others as they consider buying this fridge. I know people want to know how a product lasts over time, so I'll do my best to remember to keep updating this review. As of today, the fridge has been up and running for 2 days. It is important to note that our fridge is a B-stock unit (was returned by someone, but never used. They listed the reason as "damaged packaging"). We did not buy through this website. THE BACKSTORY Our previous fridge was a big 36" standard depth white GE side-to-side that someone gave us for free. We knew it was only a temporary solution, and started saving for its replacement for when it would die on us. The rest of our kitchen appliances were stainless, so we were looking forward to the day our big white fridge kicked the bucket so we could have a more uniform look. Yesterday, we got home from a trip and our fridge was making loud and scary noises that wouldn't stop. We saw this as the perfect excuse to make the switch. I had heard of Fisher and Paykel before, and was told they were a good solution for a long-lasting fridge without all the unnecessary bells and whistles (that end up breaking and causing service calls down the road). I also thought this was the most elegant looking out of all of its competitors. I like the simple, flat look of this unit. I headed over to our closest appliance outlet store and found a B-stock unit that was never used (still had the plastic wrap), but had a dent in the back. We saved a thousand dollars on this unit because of a dent nobody would ever see. Score! INSTALLATION I took it home in my van and let it stand for 8 hours before turning it on (guy at store said this was important to do so all the liquids in the compressor could settle into place after transporting it on its back - better safe than sorry). During that time, I installed the included water filter and hoses to the fridge. It comes with everything you need except the piece that actually taps into your water line. Since we already had that from our previous fridge, this was a breeze. No need to call a plumber. The instruction manual was very easy to follow on installation of water components. I am the least handy guy you could know, so trust me when I say this was easy! During the time the fridge sat unplugged, I also wiped down the shelves and bins, took off the plastic wrap, and read the instruction manual. I HIGHLY recommend reading the manual. There are so many features in this fridge that aren't highlighted on the companies website that I never would have known about had I not read the manual. I'll go into more detail in the "Features" Section of this review. After the 8 hours, I plugged the fridge in and let it get to its proper temperature (about 2 hours). I used this time to adjust the front legs (it is supposed to be raised up 1/2" higher in the front than the back for ease of door use). During this time, the exterior sides and back of the unit got HOT! Like, I'm afraid this thing is going to explode, hot. Thankfully after reaching its desired interior temps, the exterior cooled off substantially. Today, it isn't even warm. I made sure to run all the air pockets out of the water line, and discarded the first few batches of ice as instructed. FEATURES First of all, keep in mind that we were previously using a big, standard depth side-by-side before, and have never had a counter-depth fridge, or one with a freezer on the bottom. Having made the transition, it is clear that these fridges are not for everyone. I'll try to explain in more detail as I go. - Counter-Depth: This opened up our kitchen far beyond what we were expecting. I know its only a few inches shallower, but it made a huge difference for us. Our kitchen just got bigger and brighter! Our fridge is no longer the elephant in the room. This fridge looks great, but blends in. It does come with some trade offs. The depth of storage in the fridge is very shallow. For example, I don't see the ability to fit a large pizza box in the fridge or the freezer (untested theory). - Doors: I've been to some peoples houses where their french doors were really hard to either open or close. These open with no problem, and close even easier. The freezer door is a bit harder to open than the fridge doors, but not difficult by any stretch. - Hidden top hinges: I love how the top hinges are covered in the front. It is a small attention to detail which really makes this thing look clean and sharp. It also makes cleaning the top of the fridge so much easier! - Water dispenser: Some people may not like that this doesn't have a door ice dispenser (ice is dispensed in a bin in the freezer). It is perfect for us, I love the shallow water chamber that doesn't cut into storage space on the inside door. It also is easier to clean, and you can fill any size container without worrying if it will fit. For us, the water comes out fast, and fills things up quickly. People who like to set a glass in the water cavity and walk away while it fills up will not like this feature. It is too shallow to set a glass in, you will need to hold it the entire time. Not a problem for us. - Shelving: This model has 3 shelves (2 of which are height adjustable). These shelves go across the full width of the fridge. Some of this units competitors have adjustable shelves that only go halfway for more customization, but in my opinion that is just more breakable pieces, and it cuts into the amount of things you can store. The full-width shelves work perfectly for our needs. Also, many competitors' fridges have white plastic spill proofing around the edges of their shelves. In my opinion, this makes a fridge look cheap and flimsy. The ActiveSmart fridge has beautiful brushed metal spill proofing, it looks so much more elegant and uniform. Sounds like a small thing, but it is one of my favorite features! - Door Storage: Because of the shallow water dispenser, you get full storage on both doors. This increases the storage like no other. There are large compartments with dividers for gallon sized jugs and tall items. At the top of each french door, there is a compartment with a lid for butters or cheeses. Our previous fridge had one of these compartments with a rounded lid, it really limited storage, but these have a squared off lid that allows you to stack items without worrying about closing the lid. My biggest complaint of this fridge is that these lids don't stay open when you lift them. So you need one hand to hold the lid open, and another to grab whatever is inside. It may sound negligible, but i'm usually holding something else when I need something from these compartments. Hopefully I'll get used to it. As of right now, it's really annoying. - Wine/Bottle holders: There really isn't a place in this fridge where you would be able to store a wine bottle standing up other than the doors, so they included 4 horizontal holders that clip to the back of every shelf. These holders also stack upon another so if you don't have 4 bottles to hold, they don't take up a lot of room. Very thoughtful feature. If you insist on storing your wine or tall bottled drinks standing up, you may not like this fridge. - REMOVABLE BINS!: This is my very favorite feature of this fridge. All drawers in the fridge and freezer are actually pull out shelves with clear bins sitting on top. This is so useful for so many reasons. Instead of shuffling through the vegetables or fruits to find what you are looking for with the fridge doors open, you can just pull out the desired bin and take it to the counter, find what you need and easily put it back. The same is true for meats/cheese bins, frozen drawers, and the ice bin. Saves tons of energy. Also, it makes cleaning drawers out a breeze. Just pull it out, rinse the bin in the sink, and dry out. I love this feature! - Crisper drawers: Like most fridges, this has separate drawers for fruits and vegetables with a separate humidity setting for each. Keep in mind, you need to open both french doors to pull out the drawer. Even though there are two separate sections, the full drawer they share takes up the full width of the fridge. People who only want to open one door and pull out fruits or veggies will not like this fridge. - Meats and Cheese Drawers: I like that there are two separate sections for these. We use the left one for lunch meat and cheeses, and the right one for other meats (steak, beef, fish, etc...). It is especially nice to use one of these as a dedicated meat thawing section without worry of any juices finding their way to other items in the fridge. Again, you need to open both french doors to access these compartments. - Lighting: Our previous fridge had a light in the top back center. If we had anything in front of it (which was always), it would darken the rest of the fridge, making it difficult to see other items throughout. This fridge has a strip of LED lighting at the top front of the unit which allow for full illumination of the entire contents of the fridge no matter how you have your food arranged. Very nice touch! There are no lights on the doors, but enough spills from the inside of the fridge that you will be able to make out what you need even in the middle of the night. - Ice machine: Since this is only our 2nd day, all I can say is it works as advertised so far. I know the ice machine is usually the biggest issue people have with any fridge, so I'll keep my eye on it and let you know if anything weird happens over time. The default setup is that in the freezer, there is a top shelf with 2 big bins across the width. In the left big bin, there is a smaller one that takes up half the width of that bin, and that is the ice bin. If you require more ice, you can just remove the smaller bin and let the ice dispense into the bigger bin. With either bin, it is supposed to stop producing ice when it is full. If you need even more ice, you can fill up the big bin on the left, switch it with the right bin, and fill up that one too. Lots of versatility, and the removable bins are great if you are entertaining! - Freezer: The freezer has a top shelf that pulls out with the ice bin, plus a bin and a half of storage for other things. Then there is a large cavity below for the storage of everything else. If you are a person who usually packs out your freezer of your current fridge, I don't think you will enjoy a counter-depth freezer-on-the bottom model. This is definitely more for the person who has a larger ratio of fresh food to frozen food. I can easily see people needing to dig around the lower cavity if they over fill it. For our family, we don't need much freezer space, so it works perfect for us so far. - Noise: As of right now, there is a constant hum that is about the volume of somebody whispering softly. It is audible, but not something you can hear unless you are in the kitchen. I'm not sure if this will always hum, or if it is just because we haven't filled up our ice bin to the top yet, and the ice machine is constantly working. I'll update the review when we find out. - ActiveSmart Tech: I don't really know what it is, other than it's supposed to do a good job of keeping your food cold. Mission accomplished so far. - Other features: Sabbath mode, open door alarm (90 seconds for fridge, 60 seconds for freezer), ability to turn off open door alarm (for cleaning), water dispenser lock (for cleaning or curious kids), ice bin on/off, fast ice, temperature controls, bottle chill function (allows you to chill a beverage quickly in freezer, and will sound alarm when it is done), fast freeze (for quick freezing of fresh food), water filter replacement indicator, lock fridge controls (for cleaning) and others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Fridge controls are located inside the fridge. WHO WOULD LOVE THIS FRIDGE People who: - Have more fresh food than frozen food - Don't need to store extra deep items (large pizza box, for example)* SEE UPDATES - Appreciate removable storage bins - Like sleek, simple, modern design - Want to maximize the storage of the inside of their fridge - Like good lighting - Want to be able to fill pitchers and other large containers from the door water dispenser - Want easy opening and closing doors - Want to be able to view everything in their fridge at a glance without needing to move things out of the way. I wanted the tri-folder, the French door refrigerator, and when I found out that a full-sized one would not fit in my house, I started looking for the counter-depth one and I happened upon the Fisher&Paykel. I like to shop through Lowes because of their stuff and I found out Lowes sold them and serviced them. But they really should have one on display so people can see them and see what they look like. Because you really have to see it to appreciate it. So I contacted a Fisher&Paykel place out in California and asked them some questions and I told them I wanted to see one first. They sent me some sites by Lancaster, PA which I ended going to Mount Joy to see one on display but I didn’t buy it from them. I ended up going to it was like an Ace hardware store that sold the appliances... And oh my God, I love it! My Fisher&Paykel refrigerator performs beautifully and its sleek. Even the delivery guys had never seen one or heard of them before and they were just all over it, looking at it and thought how nice it was. And the size of it is just fine for everything for where its at. Anyone looking for one especially for a counter-depth would be worth their while to check this Fisher&Paykel refrigerator out.

DEC27C and wL26CW1 - I have had a couple of problems with my units. However, two occasions they were covered by warranty (the washer). I just had a problem with my dryer. The bearing on the right side of the drum went bad. I called F&P and talked to the very nice rep who took my order for a new bearing assembly and sent it out to me UPS ground. The rep was kind enough to tell me that if I were handy, yes I could fix it myself and she was right. After the part arrived, it took about 15 to 20 minutes to repair. Wee, the dryer is back in service. My problem is the $250.00 of ruined clothing and the price of the part and shipping. I did contact a F&P authorized repair service, but the service is not what I would call great. When I called the tech and told him I thought it was the belt, he said It is not the belt; it is the bearing. You do what you know how to do and I will fix the dryers. That was a little insulting to say the least. He then told me the squeaking would not harm anything and I could continue to use the dryer, but it may spit out grease (hence the damaged clothes). Well, my wife used the dryer and ran a load of dressy whites and they came out with little spots all over them. So F&Ps authorized repair person gave me bad information. Live and learn. But as a whole, F&P on my dealings with them have been good. It is a shame that the face of F&P is who is giving them a bad name - the repair techs and their offices.

Fisher & Paykel quicksmart washing machine front loader. Since getting this machine around 2 years ago, it hardly ever goes through a full cycle without an error blip, usually 37, or suds or just err flashing and blipping, it drives me crazy. I started using a natural very low suds home made powder and it stopped the blipping for a while, but now its back, and the drainage hose near the filter has never worked. Over the course of three years we have had 6 service calls on the Fisher Paykel dish drawer dishwasher. The hoses crack and water has leaked onto my wood floor causing damage 3 times. Another time, the electric board needed replacing, and just two weeks ago the entire magnet and inner workings on the top drawer need to be replaced. The total cost of this last repair is $600. Before this current dishwasher, we owned the first generation Fisher Paykel dish drawer. It was as horrible as our current one. There is absolutely no customer service or help from Fisher Paykel. They blame every defective part and problem on the water, or detergent, or operator error etc. Do not ever buy a Fisher Paykel unless you have piles of money and time lying around. I cant believe the money we have wasted over the years on these subpar pieces of trash. I refuse to fix it again. I am throwing it out and getting a Bosch.

An automated machine would be more sympathetic. In July 2010, fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes to crimp brackets. Cost is $121. In February 2011. The fridge overheated. The technician came and took 5 minutes. Fan wire had separated and detached due to ice building up. Cost is $125. In November 2011, the fridge overheated. The technician came and the fridge was sent away for two weeks. I had new refrigeration unit put in and only three months later, in February 2012, the fridge overheated. The technician came and replaced fan. Cost is $125. I did ask for a different technician and was told I had to wait three weeks. How can anyone go without a fridge for three weeks? Please do yourself a favor, dont buy Fisher Paykel.

First, it was my Fisher & Paykel oven, which by the way, the company came out three times to try to fix. After they said they fixed it, by replacing the main circuit board, It takes well over 90 minutes to preheat to 350 degrees F. What a waste of energy and time!! Plus, sadly, I dont enjoy baking or roasting meals for my family anymore. Now, my refrigerator beeps every time I open the door, upper and lower (it is a french door frig/freezer on bottom). An F20 code is on the door panel. I read about this in the internet and customers are saying it is a $1,000+ fix!Fisher & Paykel are expensive products. Mine are only six years old. I remodeled my kitchen around these products. My only choice is to deal with the company to get them fixed. But I want EVERYBODY to know how unreliable they are!! PS I went to an open house at an expensive condominium/apartment project in Orange County, California. Noticed all the units have Fisher & Paykel kitchen appliances. Oh boy. The national multi-family home builder is NOT going to be happy when homeowners and residents start complaining.

Im very happy with my DCS 30 range. The range provides me with plenty of BTUs on all burners allowing me to do a proper saute and a great braise. The oven is very well insulated and does a great job with even browning from roasting chicken to baking bread. I do wish there was a switch to shut off the cooling fan so I can manually shut it off. Ive worked on other ranges in this price range and none have performed as well, were built as well or looked as great. Im glad someone still cares about the quality of their product.

I have waited 5 weeks for a tech to repair my gas cook top and have been given the run around with the customer service team all this time. Firstly, they gave me the phone number of a tech to ring and organise the repair of this warranty claim myself. He was not very helpful at all and after days of correspondence he told me that he doesnt service my suburb. Two weeks after my first call, I called again and they put me onto another tech, that I also had to call myself and arrange the repair. He told me that if I was willing to pay the travel time he would repair my unit but didnt normally cover my suburb, I told him to liaise with F&P as they would be responsible for this. He was quite helpful over a period of days and was liaising with F&P but when he actually determined that he couldnt fix the issue and a F&P tech needed to be utilised he told me that F&P would be in touch to organise a time and date. Another 2 weeks passed and I had heard nothing from F&P so I rang the customer service line again this Monday (4 weeks from the initial call), to see what was happening. The customer service representative told me that my job had been booked in for this coming Wednesday and to expect a technician between 7:00am and 5:00pm. I was astounded that nobody from F&P had contacted me prior, in regards to this booking, ok I was grateful that somebody was actually going to turn up!I took the day off work on the Wednesday (yesterday) and at 3-00pm I rang the customer service line yet again to see if the technician was going to turn up. Bearing in mind that every time you ring this line you are on hold and listening to the most annoying tone anywhere from 25 - 45 minutes. I finally got connected to a very nice customer service representative who was very apologetic and told me that my job had not been booked in, quite contrary to what I was told on Monday! Imagine my disbelief! She put me on hold and contacted a tech who said he knew nothing about the job but did have the required part arrive at his place today and didnt know who it was for!!! That doesnt sound right!Anyway I kept my cool and they stated that the tech would attend to my job this morning before lunchtime. At 1-00pm I rang the Customer service line again and was on hold for 45 mins and when I got through they told me that my job was not booked in and I would not get a technician to my place today. I asked to speak to the manager who conveniently wasnt available and I wont hold my breath in the hope that they call me back this afternoon to get this rectified. Very, very, very poor service in relation to warranty claims.

I purchased the EcoSmart washing machine from Sears 2.5 years ago. The water pump/drain malfunctioned causing the electronics to short out. After consulting with a repairman, I was informed that the pump will be $200 plus $160 for the electronic portion, add another $50 for taxes and shipping and at least $100 for labor. Of course, the warranty is no longer applicable and apparently this problem is very consistent with other users. After reading the other reviews, I realize how bad this situation is quickly becoming.

Fisher Paykel DCS Counter Depth Refrigerator - I am absolutely BEYOND frustrated with this brand! Since last October I have had no less than eight, EIGHT, service calls to sort out why my ice maker drops ice cubes into the receptacle below that are freeze together. The ice that comes out of the cube tray is not frozen fully...therefore it becomes a big lump in my freezer. In order to get ice, we have to stab at it with a big knife. NOT SAFE to say the least. I have had two repair companies come to the house. Theyve called FP techs while at my house to go over the issue. The techs advice this last time was to adjust the temperature. (Or to tell me I dont close the freezer door...sorry on that one...it ain’t the problem or I would have had this issue all along.) I also dont overload my refrigerator or freezer door. Its not my first rodeo with an upscale appliance. If I could, I would dump this lemon on the sidewalk. But since my fridge surround was built for it...I am stuck. I have held back my comments for months, but as of yesterday, I am not doing that any longer. I have listened in to the FP Tech calls to the repairman. The first tech was so incredibly rude and insulting I wanted to take the phone from the poor repair guy and give him a piece of my mind. The second tech said, “Oh, just adjust the temp to a warmer temp,” Really? (Why is he a tech?) Did he not understand that the ice is NOT FROZEN all the way when it drops into the bin? The icemaker was replaced fully several visits ago...its something else and frankly, I dont believe for a quick second that its something the tech guys has never heard of before. Im not a repairman, I am a consumer. A very smart consumer that knows the buck is being passed. I paid $600 for an extended warranty on this unit. I expect the darn thing to work properly. If it cannot be repaired the FP needs to come forward and deliver a new one to me. I will simply not buy, nor ever recommend, this brand again. I would be disingenuous. If no one can repair it, not even the trained FP guys with the tech on the phone...I have no faith. Zero. So sad.

Two of the igniters on my 9 yr old range stopped working. I tried to get the igniters repaired by two different appliance repair companies that Fisher Paykel recommended ($300.00 expense) both telling me the same thing - the unit was unable to be repaired due to a design flaw. I call Fisher Paykel and asked for assistance and was told since it was 9 yrs old they werent going to do anything. So my $10,000 range is now a good looking piece of junk! I would never purchase anything from this company!!!!
