I own an 05 Avalanche as well as two Suburbans (99 and 09). I have had problems the last few years with the blower motor in my avalanche not working on all speeds, but since I was way past the normal warranty period, I decided to live with it until it stopped working completely. That happened about 6 months ago. I decided to go online for a video on how to fix the problem and lo and behold I find out that I should have been sent a letter from GM about the problem that extended the warranty. I never received these so I decided to call customer. By the way, I have Onstar service, and that would have been a great place to advise me of the problem and extended warranty.After explaining my situation with the first customer service rep, she said that there was an extended warranty for the problem and that I was outside of the coverage period. But, she continued, if you get go to a GM dealer and get it properly diagnosed we will still be able to help you out. I responded, you can still do something even though the warranty is out of date? She responded, yes, just call back after you have been to the dealership and have the paperwork. I told her, I can fix the problem myself if there is not going to be any coverage. She replied to get the truck diagnosed by GM and call back.So I went to the dealership and had it properly diagnosed as the problem, and had it fixed to a rate of almost $400. So then I called customer service back and got a different rep, who pulled up my file. She happened to be a tier 2 rep. She reviewed my file for a few minutes while putting me on hold, then came back and said, Im sorry but there is nothing we can do for you. I asked her to pull up the conversation that I had with the first rep, and she said that the first rep had given me improper information. I said thats great because that improper info cost me $400 instead of maybe $150 if I fix it myself. After battling back and forth with several managers over this they said as far as they are concerned that this was a she said-he said problem and they were not going to accept any fault. They said they could not find the original conversation transcripts.My family has been buying GM vehicles since 1974. Having spent 100s of thousands of dollars at their dealerships and they have no problem losing my business because one of their reps screwed up and they dont have the balls to put the customer first. Goodbye GM. You will never find me at one of your dealerships again. Youve lost one more loyal customer!!!

I own a 2012 Chevy Equinox (52000 miles) that I purchased from my Chevy dealership. The key fab holds the brass key in pot metal and it broke last year. That key was replaced under warranty. Saturday, the key I got to replace that key broke in the same manner. (25,000 miles later) Saturday, I brought the key in and was told I need to talk with the Service Manager. I explained the problem to the Service Manager and he offered me a new key at a discount. If I had something to do with the key breaking, I would be fine with the offer. Plus, there is no guarantee that the same issue will not happen to the new key. I do not want to be purchasing a new key every so often because of poor design. I was only 2,000 miles out of warranty and they would not replace a recurring issue.I wrote the president of the dealership and she said sorry but would not do anything. My steering wheel has also worn away and I had to put a cover on it. Poor quality. I own a VW TDI which I will be trading in sometime in November. Today was a true test of your customer service. I planned on purchasing a ton crew cab truck to replace the VW. After this experience I do not plan on considering your dealership at this point. I also plan on taking my business elsewhere for service.

I received an alert from On-Star through email (from General Motors) indicating that I need to have my engine/transmission checked. A few days later the engine light appeared. I didnt notice any malfunction of the car, at least yet. I contacted the dealer & was told that the car should be checked, but I would be responsible for the $150 diagnostics fee if the repair didnt fall under the warranty. I checked the manual & my car is still covered under the transmission/engine warranty, but there are certain engine/transmission repairs that arent covered. I thought what is the reason to have this On-Star alert system. Shouldnt they know the details already? I think this is a ploy to get a customer in & make them pay. Unfortunately, the car is beginning to sputter as Im driving. It doesnt happen during acceleration. Has anyone had this same issue & what was their resolution?

I expected non power seats, no remote start, etc. I can lift the rear hatch without a problem, but an incomplete radio. The vehicle (GMC Terrain) does not have a radio that get Sirius. Come on.

Took my Silverado with 38000 miles with warranty ending less than 30 days prior to Ferman Chevrolet in Brandon Florida; air was not blowing cold and the AC compressor and smelled like it was burning. Took them two days to contact me back after several calls to them. Finally they tell me I had a leak in the hi pressure hose and it would cost $560.00. Then by the end of the next day I call them again “again no communication from them“ they tell me, -By the way- the compressor is bad too and it will now cost you $1580.00. So, at this point I tell them no way. Then I can’t believe my ears- the service guy tell me fine but you still owe us the $560.00 for the work you already approved. Wow (I won that battle). I googled GM issue with ac systems and omg it’s a known issue. There’s even a class action suit. So I call General Motors and the girl tries to contact Ferman Chevrolet and get no answer. A day later I call General Motors back and the girl tells me she has tried to call them seven times so she escalates the ticket to a senior advisor. It takes three days for the senior advisor to call me just to tell me “more or less” that there’s nothing they can do for me; it’s out of warranty. I finally had it fixed by an AC guy that was recommended to me by a friend. He found metal shavings throughout the entire system. For $1300 he has replace the entire system to make sure there was no parts that would have the metal shavings. I write this in hopes that something can be done for other customers with the same known issue.

I purchased my 2014 GMC Terrain 2 years ago as a used vehicle with 15,000 miles on it. I have been overall very satisfied with the looks and performance of this vehicle. A few months ago we started having a shudder happen at acceleration. We didnt know what it might be from and it was so intermittent that we didnt immediately have it checked out. As the weather warmed the shudder happened more often and eventually made it to where it was difficult to pull out from an intersection due to no acceleration. We took it to a dealer to have it checked out and were advised that there is problem with several model years of GM transmissions having the torque converter delaminate which causes debris to spread through the transmission and causes it to fail. This is the case with ours and with a $5400 price tag to replace the transmission. We complained that since this is 2019 and its a 2014 with 59,000 miles shouldnt it be covered under the 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty. They advised it was out of the 5 years by 7 months from the in-service date. They did offer a 30% discount but we still felt this was way too much to pay for a transmission. We decided to take to a transmission shop for repair. The price ended up being the same as what the discounted price would be from the dealer. I contacted GM and was told that they wouldnt work with me on this since the repairs werent being done at a dealer. By the time that we discussed, it was too late to stop the repairs at the transmission shop. I was disgusted that GM wouldnt stand behind a vehicle with less than 60,000 miles with transmission failure and only 5 years old. This vehicle has not been abused or neglected in service. I am ready to say that we will no longer consider GM vehicles as possible options when we replace this or any of our other vehicles, even though we have been lifetime GM fans/owners.

I purchased a 2015 Silverado from Advantage Chevrolet in Bolingbrook, Il. After a short time I began to notice a vibration in the truck. When traveling between 45 mph and 55 mph and more so when traveling between 65 mph and 75 mph. The vibration is noticeable as the water bottle in the center council shakes and the hood and rear view mirror vibrate. This is a new truck, currently less than 6,000 miles. I am a long time GM owner, have purchased somewhere around 15 new GM vehicles and owned at least another 5 used vehicles. I am 54 years old and consider myself to be a long and faithful GM customer. This very well may change in the near future.I took my vehicle back to the dealer for service, they said it was operating within normal tolerances. I asked how that could be and how they came to that conclusion? I was told they hooked it up to monitors and compared it to another vehicle (same make and model) and they both gave the same results. After much discussion and me expressing my displeasure, I was told that there was a bulletin out from GM dated 6/23/2016 that tells the dealerships to not attempt to fix the issue any longer as they have changed tires, rotated tires, balanced tires and replaced rims with no success at eliminating the problem. The GM bulletin states that they are aware of the issue and trying to come up with a fix.I called a customer service number (800-222-1020) and created a case number (**). I was told by the dealer that this would create a case and it would elevate until it was resolved. I was told by the complaint line that they would contact the dealer and get back to me with their findings within 48 hours. When they got back to me (approximately 51 hours later) I was told that the dealer had done everything they could and the case was closed. I asked to speak with a higher level manager from the organization and was turned over to a senior consultant (Crystal). She reaffirmed that the case was resolved and that I could not speak to anyone else and have no other options. I attempted to call back to other times and speak with someone else, once I spoke with James who assured me that the case would be re-opened and Crystal would not be involved any longer. James also stated that Crystal should have let me speak to another consultant and what she did was wrong. In the end, the case went back to Crystal and she closed the case with no resolution.Needless to say, I am a very dissatisfied GM customer (soon to be a former GM customer) and am finding it very hard to get in contact with anyone at GM and seems to care about the customer. $40,000.00 truck that vibrates, a company that knows they have a problem as they sent out a bulletin but does not want to speak to the customer about the issue. The sad thing is, I just want to know what they are doing to try and identify the issue and fix it. Unfortunately, I will not own the truck much longer, will not buy GM products any longer and will lose money due to their poor customer service and lack of commitment to their customers. GM apparently doesnt need repeat customers. If by chance a GM Representative reads this, please contact me. I would love to discuss this issue and the extremely poor customer service representatives you have fielding your complaints at the 800 number above. I can say some of the representatives were trying to help. The senior rep should be in another line of work.

Tedd Britt Chevrolet (Sterling, VA) and General Motors has given me the run around. They have shown gross negligence by refusing to replace my newly purchased 2020 Silverado 1500. I have been tossed around from manager to manager, from advisor to advisor. Nobody wants to be the one caught with the customer (me) in a potential lawsuit:I have put less than 15,000 miles on the vehicle, hardly owned six months. First owner. The vehicle has been in FIVE TIMES for various electrical issues including brake system failures (x3), and most recently the vehicle shut off while I was traveling +60mph. I fear for my safety. See attached invoice photos. Their staff sees you as a number - a price tag. Their “Customer Experience Manager” did not even look at me, he talked over me, and downright refused to help me - would not even give me the customer service phone number. He said it was not his problem. Incredible. Don’t waste your time, or your safety. Buy a Ford.

I called customer assistance and was put on hold for about 10 minutes while the person investigated the order. She came back with You just need to talk to your dealer. I have buyers remorse and I have yet to see the vehicle. Great service, GM. I am, to say the least, very disappointed. You think this is a preview of what lies ahead with their service?

Imagine having a new car for two years and the clear starts lifting. My car is full of blotches of clear coat lifting. I am still in warranty and GM denies my claim. I wish I can post pics. I took my vehicle to Yeo body shops and was told to take it back to dealer due to clear coat lifting and leak in rearview window. It is so obvious that my paint job was botched and they blame it on the environment. I will never purchase a GM vehicle ever. There are several videos on their clear coat problems on the internet and they fail to take responsibility for their clear coat problem vehicles. They would rather sale it to the consumer and wash their hands concerning the problem. I will not stop posting until I get my vehicle on TV. It is a clear mess.

My husband and I purchased a 2013 Chevy Malibu in Nov 2013. New car. No issues until April 2015. First, my Service Parking Brake light came on now and then. Took it in and they said it was a fuse box. Ordered a new one at our expense. Two days later the engine locked up. Got it towed and dealership ordered a new engine. Replacement engine was knocking after just being installed! Second new engine installed and runs fine. Still had Service Park Brake light on after replacing the fuse box. 250 miles later, engine started knocking! Took it back again and dealership left torque converter bolts loose. They claim to have tightened them and replaced the fuse block.Started a case with GM to get the car bought back because its obviously a lemon. No longer have the light on, but now the car idles rough and shifts terrible. GM will not allow the dealership to work on the car unless there is a code on their computer when they hook it up. Its not throwing any codes and no lights on the dash, so we wait. This is absurd! I have talked to a senior rep at GM several times, and she said we have to go through this and they will probably not ever buy it back. Not happy and never buying Chevy again!

I called GM customer service to get an understanding to why the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix have not been recalled. My ignition cylinder, ignition switch & wiring had to be replaced, the wiring had melted which could have resulted in a fire. I expressed this with the customer service, moreover the overwhelming complaints found on the internet. The best they could do was note it in their computer system and IF they decided to recall the year I would be notified. It is a sad and sick day when a company who is already being sued for not acknowledging safety issues previously will continue to turn a blind eye to such a massive issue. It says a lot about how much they value business and safety of their products and customers.

My 2006 Chevy Cobalt just quit running on me on my way to work. If you could get them to get the part, I will have it fixed cause Im still paying for it and I cant let it sit. I called Corbin KY and LaFollette Tenn. That’s closer to me cause I gotta work.

I have a 2012 GMC Acadia slt fwd. I have had over $12,000 done to this vehicle in just under 2 yrs at this time. Repairs are as follows: Front cover and rear main seal with motor mounts. Cylinder head replace due to oil in the spark plug tubes. All 6 fuel injectors replaced 3 at the dealer and 3 I DID myself. When the dealer DID the 3 they DID not change the oil (fuel was in the oil).After one day of driving the vehicle engine started to knock real bad (That is when I found out that the dealer DID not change the oil and the fuel dried the bearings inside the motor. One of the bearings spun on the cam shaft and put metal shaving in the engine.). New create engine was order the day after I got the vehicle back. The high pressure fuel pump on the engine failed and DID the same thing as the injector DID but DID not put as much fuel in the oil. Now that the vehicle is out of the factory warranty gm does not want to go back to one of the work orders and review the issue I had complained about at one point.The vehicle rpms fluctuate at low speeds between 1-2k rpm. Vehicle has a hard time pulling itself up a hill or on flat ground. The other one is vehicle feels rough until over 2k rpm. When we went to pick the vehicle up when they called us the service writer said that they could not reproduce the concern at that time. I believe the tech really DID not drive the vehicle and find the issue or DID not want to do anything under the factory warranty and that is why they said that.This is the worst I have been treated by a high corporation in not taking car of the customers issues. Now that the vehicle is out of warranty gm cares does not want to have anything to do with me, my wife or even the vehicle. They only care about the vehicles that are still under the warranty. The problem I am having now is that the torque converter is messed up and when the tech drove it in Aug he DID not feel anything due to he DID not drive the vehicle for a long enough time to feel the issue or DID not drive it the way the work order says when it happens.I am very unhappy for the way gm cares handled this issue. I think that they should put me out of the vehicle and put me into something different to keep me buying gm vehicle. If they do not help me I will not buy another one for the rest of my life. And I will make sure gm does not get any more money from me. I used to be all about gm and now I am turning to more like a toyota family instead of a gmc, chevrolet, and buick. I cant take anymore of gm bullcrap at this time. The torque converter from the dealer is around $1,800 for the work and part. I do not have that kind of money floating around like that. Gm just need to fix my vehicle under one of the work orders. Is possible to get it fixed without me having to pay for anything.

My wifes 2010 GMC Acadia has 60200 miles. We have had it in for the gauges not coming on right away. I still believe it is in the ignition switch. Vehicle was taken in for steering problems. Steering would lock up. Deal charged me 1400.00 to replace the power steering pump, rack and pinion, and struts. They advised GM recommends a 12 vain steering pump instead of a 6 vain pump. GM knows there is a problem with this but will not do a recall. I can believe they dont care about wives and grandchildren safety. I have owned 24 GM products since I was 16 years old. I am 60 now with three GM products including a Duramax Diesel. I dont like to buy foreign but I guess I will have to start.

I have owned a 2002 Astro van for the past 15 years, which I purchased use with 150,00 miles on it. It was in need of a rear differential overhaul which I did myself. This vehicle now has 308000 miles on it, and has only required normal maint and repairs the entire time I have owned it. The engine has only had the timing chain replace at 280000 miles. Still gets 20 mpg on highway, 17 around town, interior is still in good shape and body is tight & rust free. Although I have other newer vehicles I use this as my go to vehicle for daily use because I enjoy driving it. Just thought I would say something positive when it is deserved. GM does not treat customers fairly. My husband and I bought a 2004 Pontiac used but in great condition. We owned the car for less than 6 months. One morning on my husbands way to work, it went up in flames. Fortunately, my husband managed to get out alive. Two days after it caught on fire, we received a recall notice in the mail. Guess what? The recall was for possible engine fires caused by oil leak onto the manifold. After starting a claim with GM, and being told to keep the vehicle in storage so they can have an inspector come inspect the vehicle, they decided to make us an offer for the vehicle more than three months later. The offer was for less than half of the vehicles worth, and they refused to pay for the tow, road clean up (because the car melted to the street) and the storage fees totaling more than $3300.00 because they said it was our choice to have the vehicle towed and stored somewhere. (No one chooses to have their car go up into flames while they are driving it, and when it melts to the street you have no other option but to have it towed by police orders). We only did what we were told to do, and in the end we are paying the price. We are not even getting enough money to cover the cost of the storage so all that is having to be paid out of my pocket when I did not choose for my car to go up in flames. How is that right? I will never recommend GM to anyone, and I will always tell people not to buy GM due to how they do not take care of their customers.

I own a 2021 GMC Sierra with 9000 miles on it, I bought it in March 2021 and in September 2021 it received a check engine light. The dealership tells me its the cylinder heads and its a known defect. Its now mid October and GM has no idea when they will have the part for my truck. In the meantime, I have had no truck for moving me into my new home, Im worried that the vacation I planned with my truck will be with some crappy rental car, Im very frustrated with this situation.

I have a 2015 Silverado 1500 and generally love the truck. However I recently noticed clearcoat is peeling all around truck. This is abnormal. Professional paint shop says faulty paint job. Dealer says they wont help. GM customer service says not their problem. This is not right. It clearly is a manufacturer issue that Im sure others are experiencing. I would like help from GM but nothing. I had 1997 Sierra with perfect paint to day I sold it. Ive had and have 2 Buick Enclaves with no issues. This is a Silverado issue that GM and dealers not standing behind. Beware.

I leased a 2012 GMC Terrain back in 2012.. It is 30 month lease. I recently sustained a medical problem with a year left on the lease.. I cannot drive anymore and sought to turn in the vehicle early as I cannot drive it. Balance owed on lease was/is not an issue.. what I was told by leasing affiliate--ALLY Auto... I would have to retain the vehicle for the duration of the lease period and carry full coverage with insurance for the duration of lease even though I cannot drive and my license has been placed on hold by State DMV. My complaint here is based upon the fact that the vehicle will be stored on my property, not being driven for over a year (I am a retired senior living alone) and I will be forced to pay over $2,000 in insurance premiums just so the lease calendar can expire as they will not allow me to turn in the vehicle now. I accept paying off the remaining lease value, but to keep it anyway at my expense for mandatory insurance coverage is an outrage... as it seems punitive. I advise all that seek leases keep this in mind... have an unforeseen event that disallows any more driving and you are screwed. Clearly, GM business model is based upon for every customer lost, we get 5 new ones so why care? If I ever get back on the road again... uncertain at this point... it wont be with a leased GM product. Screw me once, shame on them.. screw me twice, shame on me for being a loyal customer.

Highly dissatisfied and frustrated GM and my local dealership, Randy Marion Chevrolet, for attempts to dodge repairing a known problem with my 2012 Chevy Equinox for excessive oil consumption. Ive bought probably a dozen or more GM vehicles over the past 20+ years (3 in my driveway now) and I dont ever want to see the service department at Randy Marion Chevrolet again, or own another GM vehicle. Im that upset. I posted my full complaint at carcomplaints.com (2012 Equinox engine problems -- excessive oil consumption) to warn other people who might want to buy an Equinox or deal with this dealership. Service department as well as GM Customer Service is not to be trusted and uses any excuse to avoid fixing a known problem with this vehicle, despite a letter from GM saying what the problem is and what the fix is.GM seems to communicate with the dealership and back them up in their ridiculousness and go against their own letter stating they know the car has a problem and what the proper fix is. Been going back and forth with them since March over an issue with excessive oil consumption in my car, and still no fix. Ive put another 15,000 miles on my car that is frequently low or not even registering oil. No one should have to repeatedly prove that their car is consuming excessive amounts of oil. Ive had them document it at least 5 or maybe 6 times and because my car needed a new timing chain at the end of this long oil consumption test process they tell me I have to start everything over again.Letter clearly says its a piston ring problem and they know about it. Common sense is out the window here. Very disappointed at their efforts to delay fixing my car when they know its consuming oil. Concerned about how much damage is being done to my engine. In October of 2016 the engine light came on, and it was discovered to have been caused by the mass airflow system. I had this part replaced but within a few days the light was on again. I brought the car back to the shop and the part was replaced a second time. Upon test drive, the light again came back on. A third part was ordered and replaced. When the light came on for the fourth time, my mechanic ran through the wiring system but did not find anything out of the ordinary. He ran checks on the gas pedal and various other sensors. He then deduced that the problem was not with any of the sensors, nor any of the mechanical systems in the vehicle. He thought it might be the ECM, but advised me to bring the car to Central Chevrolet to have them look deeper into the issue.The Astra was taken to Central Chevrolet, where they subsequently ran diagnostics and discovered that the ECM was, in fact, bad. I inquired about purchasing an ECM from a parts site that I will not name, but was informed that GM would be unable to or would not program the computer unless it was an OEM part. At this point, my hands were tied. I would have to spend $700 on the part if I wanted my car to run properly again. I bit the bullet and told them to go ahead and move forward with the repair.Central Chevrolet received the part and assigned one of their GM technicians to begin the programming. As the process neared completion, the ECM was bricked. A second ECM was purchased and a second, more qualified GM tech was assigned to do the programming. He was on the phone with either a TAC or TISS representative I cant recall which and together they went through the programming process step by step. Again, the programming failed toward the end and bricked the part. It was not until after this second part failed that GM decided to inform the service department at Central Chevrolet that the pre-2009 Saturn software for this part is no longer available.So here I am now, six months after the engine light first came on and at least six weeks without my vehicle. As I was without the car for several days here and there for troubleshooting between October and March, the inconvenience is even greater. How can GM just let software go away for a car that is not even ten years old? Its software, its not like its taking up a bunch of space in a warehouse somewhere. Additionally, how does GM sell a part to a repair shop TWICE without advising that the software required to make it work no longer exists? And then to wait until AFTER the second part bricks?I called GMs customer service line and spoke with Joe, who sent me to Shaneva. Shaneva informed me that she would call Central Chevrolet for more details, and that I would have to wait 24-72 hours before receiving an update. The call came at the 72nd hour. When Shaneva informed me that in lieu of a resolution, I was being offered an Owners Loyalty Certification, I asked to be directed to a supervisor. I was told my call would be returned within 24-48 hours. I received no response within that time frame, and I actually had to call back again.I have since retrieved my car from Central Chevrolet. It is now in much worse condition than it was when I brought it in, and the vehicle is simply not safe to drive. I expected the original issue to still be a problem. I did NOT expect to be left with a car that I can no longer drive AT ALL! I have been a GM customer/vehicle owner for over 20 years, and I have never had a problem, until now. I am extremely disappointed in the way this situation has been unfolding. When I purchase a car, I expect it to get old and to need repairs. I also expect to have the choice of whether to make those repairs. In this situation, not only do I have no choice, but GM has the gall to offer me an Owners Loyalty Certificate with the expectation that I would purchase another GM product.

It cost me 10,000 dollars to get it fix at Fairway Chevrolet in Vegas and they didn’t do a good job. Now I have a check engine light on. Now a local dealer wants 1700 dollars to fix it. So I’m really mad at General Motors.

My 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, while still covered by GM’s Factory Power Train Warranty, had two frayed injector wire connectors that were repaired/replaced by GM Authorized dealers using Genuine GM Parts (that come a one-year warranty). A couple months later I pulled into Casper Buick GMC Cadillac (“CASPER GMC”) and was told that 2 injectors had failed but they would be covered 100% by my warranty. Therefore, I approved the work. Later when I went to pick up my truck they told me it would not be covered by warranty and that I needed to personally pay them $2,231.04 or they would not give me my keys or release my truck to me.For two months since then, I’ve made repeated unsuccessful attempts to get a satisfactory resolution and have experienced:(i) Repeated broken promises from Matt **, of CASPER GMC and from and Jay from GM Customer Care (“GM”) to get back to me;(ii) CASPER GMC’s and GM’s willful disregard of the promises made to owners like me in GM’s Factory Power Train Warranty;(iii) CASPER GMC’s repeated and unwarranted refusal to file my warranty claim with GM, despite the fact that my truck is still under GM Factory Warranty for both the injectors (GM Factory Power Train Warranty), and the connector wires (GM Genuine Parts Warranty); and(iv) I was told by Jay at GM Customer Care that if I sought guidance from my attorney, even if such guidance did not include my filing suit, he would no longer be able to speak with me about this issue.(v) I was told by Casper GMC to contact GM Customer Care and was told by GM Customer Care to contact Casper GMC.Casper GMC and GM Customer Care do a good job of watching each other’s back but totally ignore the backs of customers like me.If this sounds like fun to you, please go straight to Casper GMC and buy a truck. GMC Terrain: At 30k miles the timing chain and tensioners had to be changed and at 63k miles the transmission started shifting hard. At 68k miles it started consuming oil so it had the pistons replaced and now at 114k miles its consuming oil again and it needs to have the timing chain and tensioners replaced again.

There are too many people having trouble with vehicles that are defective before they are purchased, including me. General Motors should pay everyone who purchases a vehicle of theirs that is faulty for repairs, injuries, etc.

I know GMC is not recalling that product because it is not a safety issue, that is their way out. Come on GMC, you put out a junk CUE product, stand behind it. I own a 09 Saturn Vue and have been pretty happy with it till now. My Saturn seems to be having transmission problems, the gears keep getting stuck which causing the engine light to come but after a day or two it goes away on its own. I experienced this problem now twice. Found a letter from Saturn stating some models had a fractured wave plate which would cause tranny to slip gears, low 3rd or 4th gear etc. I took my car to GM to drop-off service. Advisor tells me I would pay 120 if it wasnt the wave plate. I get a call today stating they need me to authorize a 1600 charge for them taking apart my transmission which it could be under warranty or it could be not. Long story short I would not authorize that since I was never told that when I first came in. The manager was arguing with my boyfriend and I left with my Saturn Vue being untouched. They didnt even care that my car could possibly have that issue and they would have to honor that at no charge. So they try to get money another way. Sneaky GM. Its sad they wont even look at the car thats a Product of their GM motors. Horrible!

At the beginning of 2015 at 121,000 miles on my Traverse it was diagnosed with timing chain issues. A couple of weeks (end of Jan 2015) later I received a letter from Chevy extending the warranty on the timing chain (mind you the letter was dated for Nov 2014) to 120,000. However because I was 1,000 miles over the warranty there was nothing they would do for me. Repairs would start at $3,000. After calling GM on a few occasions still there is nothing they will do. Then there comes more warranty extensions for Throttle Position Sensor that is part of the Throttle Body again pass the allowable miles.I am at a loss how a company can have know about these issues for years then when knowing that most of these 2009 vehicles are probably past the mileage warranties they extend warranties to prevent a recall. As of right now my 2009 Chevy Traverse is now a $32,000 paperweight. The catastrophic break down of the timing chain has happened. Looking for some remedy for a mutual satisfaction my auto technician has told me that with all the issues that motor has (which GM has been aware of for sometime now) it is not worth putting that kind of money and work into it and suggests a used motor as the more reasonable remedy.

Car was purchased new less than 6 years ago, less than 66,000 on it. Have had oil consumption issues. Three weeks ago, check engine, StabiliTrak, and loss of engine power lights started coming on while idling at stop signs and lights and experiencing stalls at same stop signs and lights. Husband checked and even though the check oil light was not on, there was virtually no oil in the car, added 2 quarts. Took car in for service. Dealer said it was a stretched timing chain and fuel pump needed to be replaced. Take home and return the following Monday when parts are in. When they went to do the service, engine was found to have lots of metal in it and needed to be replaced at our cost as warranty is out. Dealer offered no other options.GM says they can offer no assistance as the engine was not torn down. Dealer then offered a 10% discount on labor. The engine is still costing me $3,900 plus tax etc. I am appalled that GM is making me pay as this the car was regularly serviced. An engine should not fail at less than 66,000. Customer service has pretty much said suck it up. We will never purchase GM again. Four of our last 6 vehicles have been GM cars and I feel really stupid that we purchased a 2015 Chevy Equinox for our childrens use last year.

Just wondering if anyone else who had this recall done ran into a situation where the low beam headlights had to be replaced at the owners expense. This situation is ridiculous. Let me first state the I accept partial blame for not taking my car in as soon as I received a recall notice. When my low beam lights went out I took my car to JohnBear to have the HDM recall addressed. I picked up my car after the recall work was done and went in to work for night shift.Leaving work the next day I found I had no low beam headlights and now no dash lights. Took it back to JohnBear where I was informed that both my low beam headlights had burnt out at the exact same time(?) and that had nothing to do with the recall(?). Ive dealt with a service rep at Buick (Sheri) that I must apologize to for letting my frustration get the better of me. I was charged $373.40 for two installed low beam headlights(?). In my mind and 3 or 4 mechanics I have spoken with this is excessive and should have either been tied to the recall or the original work performed at the dealership. Yet no one is taking responsibility.

I told GMC I did not want a vehicle coming out of the gate with wheels issues. They first spoke of buy out, then I was told they are not going to accept the vehicle back! Since then I have gotten 2 invoices one stating VEHICLE NEEDS RE WELDING OF RIGHT AND LEFT ARM. Took vehicle Friday and was told it didnt need a fix. Questioned them about their finding, and their manager said he stood by his mechanics report. Took it back to dealer who said it was needed. They informed me that they had to take vehicle, and that the other dealer called it wrong. Incompetent mechanics/and putting UNSAFE VEHICLES on road, tire issues? Not acceptable. I will be speaking to an Attorney. I dont want this vehicle and I will take measures, No one forces me to take a used car, sold as new, but work already has to be done! This fix will only last till warranty is up, and then all cost to me! I dont trust anything coming from GMC. Mechanic put me back in the road with a false safety report! 2 different invoices!? Wow.

I bought a used Equinox in 2015, it was a 2011 model. I loved the SUV. It was my dream ride, lovely interior. Sound ride. Within a year and half, had to replace the transmission, but I was under warranty. Other issues arose where the repairs came out of my pocket. Recently the car was using excessive amounts of oil. I took it to the Waldorf, MD dealership, found out there was an oil consumption issue, the dealership wanted to charge me 6000 to 8000 to repair or replace the engine. The representative on the phone quoted those prices like I could just dig into my unlimited funds and pay this amount. Apparently the assumption is that we all had reams of money laying around to spend. Apparently, the car had a warranty for this issue which expired at 120,000 miles or 7 years.The SUV only had 98,000 miles, but unfortunately for me the clock started on the 7 years the day it was put in the showroom, and not the day I bought it. I reached out to GM and was informed the best they would offer me is 10 percent off the repair work. In the meantime I looked up my issue, and found GM had agreed to settle a lawsuit dealing with this issue, but the suit had not been finalized as of my complaint 10/7/2019. Its, shameful that a company as big as GM, who touts its reputation on producing top notch cars/SUVs and providing excellent customer service, would basically say 10 percent is the best I can do, when there is an outstanding lawsuit. Way to go GMs, you should be proud of yourselves.

Plastic pieces have broken off, the drivers side belt wont retract and the passenger belt doesnt lock. I took it to the dealership for recall replacements and they told me that they were replaced already by the previous owner. I find this incredulous considering I have own a Lasabre as well as another Park avenue and never had any issues and they were both older vehicles. The cost for replacement is $350/belt and I have no assurance that the replacements arent just like the ones I have. GM is losing a LIFETIME Buyer in me!Of course they are trying to lose the stodgy old man image according to the news...

The car now needs $2,500 in repairs and GM is refusing to pay for it although the lawsuit states they are responsible for it and are to pay for it! Myself and my family have always driven GM vehicles. I’m the last one in the family left driving one and now I know why. They do not stand behind their products and do not support their customers. I have a 2018 Chevy Trax awd. On 8/4/21 my engine died. We assume as they really havent told us yet what is wrong. We had the car towed to our dealer Outten Chevy in Hamburg PA. Immediately they started coming up with reasons to void the 5 year, 60,000 mile power train warranty. They have used several excuses from wrong oil filter installed even though according to websites it was the right one, to low oil even though it was fine until the incident and then started leaking oil on way to dealer on a flatbed. It is now 11/15/21. More than 3 months and my car is sitting at the dealership and we are yet to hear from GMAC. We have sent them a certified letter, when we call we leave voicemails and cannot get ahold of anyone.The dealership told us the tube to the turbo melted but would not say if that caused the engine issue. They offered to replace it at a cost to us but said may not fix the issue. Sounds like a flaw to me but GMAC is not recognizing this or covering under their warranty. How can a 3.5 year old car engine blow when we maintained it and was driven with care. I cannot believe that we are having this much trouble for a company to stand behind their product. Not only is the dealership doing nothing but GMAC doesnt seem to want to do anything either. I work two jobs and have had to rely on friends and family to borrow cars as they could not even provide a loaner car to me. I am still paying payments and insurance on a vehicle that has been sitting on a dealers lot still waiting to be diagnosed because they are not looking into it since they cant seem to get it covered under the warranty.What is wrong with this world with businesses not standing behind their products and doing the right thing. We come from a long list of Chevy/gmac owned vehicles from a 41 chevy coupe to a 2020 Gmac Denali and numerous in between and never ever have had an issue like this. I simply cannot believe it, but it is causing us to rethink about buy Chevy/gmac. I know I read reviews and I hope that this may help someone else in the future when considering to buy a Chevy/gmac be careful cause they may not stand behind their product. As for me, I will be continuing my fight for them to do whats right and fix my car.

9/15/17- Purchased 2014 Chevy Equinox, also paid $2500 for an extended warranty with CNA National. 7/18/18 - Vehicle just shut off while driving for maybe 10 minutes. It felt as if the battery had died. Please note I had no other issues prior to this with the vehicle. Tried to start it, and it sounded as if someone was playing the drums under my hood. Pushed car to safe location, and went home for the evening.7/19/18 – I got a ride to the vehicle with hopes of it starting. Same thing happened. So, I reached out to my warranty company (CNAN) and was told that I can have the vehicle towed through their Roadside Assistance to a repair shop of my choice, and once an estimate was prepared, they would pay over the phone with a credit card. I had the vehicle towed to Quality Buick GMC in Alton, IL. 7/20/18 - Received a call from Quality that timing chain was busted, along with several other items, and engine was full of sludge. They stated I was still covered under GM Powertrain warranty and they submitted all of the information to GM, and got me a rental through Enterprise.7/24/18 - Received a call from Quality stating that GM declined repairs, and now extended warranty company would not pay for the rental I had for days. I contacted GM and requested a supervisor to discuss options. Supervisor stated that they would review case and contact me within 2 days. With the vehicle having under 100,000 miles, she didn’t see any reason why they wouldn’t cover it. She asked where the vehicle was located and I started Quality Buick GM in Alton, after searching their database, she said they were not certified to do the repairs, and the vehicle would have to be towed to another location. She reached out to Jack ** in Wood River, and also as a courtesy, reached out to Chevy Roadside assistance to do a Dealer to Dealer transfer at no cost to me. I was very grateful for that. She said the roadside assistance company would reach out to me within 20 minutes, and gave me a number to call if they did not. 45 minutes went by and I called Chevy Roadside Assistance to follow up on the transfer. Of course, they had no information, and was not eligible for the transfer. I contacted GM Warranty again, and they said she was not allowed to do that, and there was nothing they could do at that moment, and case was re-opened and pending investigation. Reached out to CNAC (extended warranty company) and Roadside Assistance wasn’t available with them either until 7 days from last time used. Frustrated, I hang up, and look for other options online. I received a call from Allstate Ins. that they were attempting to pick up the vehicle, but there was a $300 balance with Quality Pontiac before vehicle could be transferred. They stated they were called out by Chevy Roadside Assistance, who just told me they had no information for transfer. So, I reached out to Quality for information on balance owed. They stated $100+ for opening up the engine, and the remaining balance was for the rental. Also, vehicle would not be released until balance was paid. I explained to them that GM Warranty needed a Certified Dealer to estimate repairs, and they informed me they are a certified dealer. I called GM Warranty back to let them know what was going on, and they said the other person I talked to must be new, or not know what she is doing, because Quality is a certified dealer. I would only be getting charged more money by having another dealer open up the engine to do the estimate. I explained to them I would be leaving the vehicle at Quality, and gave them the contact info for the service department for investigation on repairs.7/26/18 - Received a call from GM Warranty that repairs would not be covered due to it not being a manufacturer defect. That was their final answer. I spoke with 2 different service departments, Quality, and Jack ** and they stated there is no way the sludge in the engine could have been caused in the 10 months I’ve had the vehicle. Oil changes were always done on time, and I have proof of that. So, how it is that I now have a car with $6000+ damages, and a 14,000 balance on, $600 balance for rental + Quality doing estimate, and I’m responsible. I drive my car to make a living, and not only am I without a car, I’m now also without a job. I am beyond frustrated, and any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Bought a 2017 Silverado from Clark’s, after 8 month agonizing experience with a dealer who ran me around with excuses, charged me for repairs which had nothing to do with the flawed product they sold me, even though it was under warranty, which is a joke by the way. They kept telling me they didn’t know what was wrong with the vehicle and after many trips there basically told me it’s up to me and GM to solve. By all the reviews I’ve read about this treatment of their customers it sounds like it’s a trend. I wouldn’t recommend a GM product to anybody with this lack of concern about their customers or their product in which they do not stand behind. Id rate them a negative 5 stars.

I purchased a 2012 Chevy Equinox from a local dealership in July of 2015! When I purchased the vehicle it had approximately 64,000 miles on it! When we done the loan for the vehicle, we went through a local bank where my father has banked at for many, many years! My credit score is not the greatest, so my wonderful father agreed to co-sign for me so I could purchase the vehicle and help build my credit! When we done this loan, I was supposed to have been the main one on the loan and my father of course the co-signer! When we purchased the vehicle it did come with a warranty! I believe it was the second day that I had the vehicle, I was backing out of the parking lot where I work on my way to get lunch, and the vehicle started to shake and act as if it was going to quit! The whole way to McDonalds and back, which was about 10 minutes, the vehicle done this!It actually did quit on me once and I got it started back up and was able to make it back to work! I called the dealership and told them what the vehicle was doing and they told me just to bring the vehicle back over to them if it would make it and they would take care of it for me! I took the vehicle back to the dealership, and they gave me a rental and a couple days later they called and told me that it was a sensor that had went bad and that they got it fixed and the vehicle was ready to be picked up! It drove just fine for a while. Then I started having issues with the oil, it would go through oil like crazy, and I would go to start it up and it would sound horrible! The only way I can really describe the sound it would make, is it was a loud ticking noise and then when given the gas it would make a loud whining sound and when slowing the vehicle down or coming to a stop it would start jerking itself like it was trying to quit!I took it back to the dealership again, and If I remember correctly… they replaced the Fuel pump! Again... it drove fine for a while and then it started doing the same thing! We were constantly having to put oil in it, and drive around with it making the same horrible sound as before, and you didnt know if when you came to a stop or a low speed if it was just going to quit on ya! I ended up having to take the vehicle back to the dealership a couple more times over this issue and the last time I had it there they told me that the only thing they could do was an Oil Consumption Diagnostic Test which involved me having to bring the vehicle back to them, every so many miles to be checked and that I would have to pay to have it done because it was NOT covered under the warranty! I declined to have it done!Some may not understand this... but my fiancé and I are trying to raise three kids, provide for them and each other on top of bills and other everyday necessities, on very low income! It is a constant struggle for us just to keep our heads above the water and keep from drowning! We are trying to survive in todays world the best we can, and we did NOT have that extra money to pay to have that test done, nor the time to keep taking the vehicle back to them every so many miles to be checked! No one knows our situation but us, and we decided that we just couldnt do it and declined to have it done! So here I was... in debt for this vehicle that I hadnt had very long... that I kept having the same repetitive problem with over and over again! So this issue continued on!Some days it would run fine, then other days it would do the awful noise making and trying to quit on me... and we were still having to put oil in it about once a week… sometimes every two weeks! This past August we went on vacation with family, and of course my fiancé, kids and I were going to all go in the Equinox! We took the vehicle and had it serviced... oil change, and other things before we left! We went on vacation and the vehicle drove just fine there and back! About a month after we got back from vacation, I got in the vehicle to come to work one morning and it started making the same noise AGAIN as soon as I started it up! Only this time it was much worse! I mean it was SO loud that when I stopped to get breakfast and the bank to deposit my payroll check that I had to turn the vehicle off just so I could hear over the intercom! I mean it sounded so bad I just thought the motor was gonna blow right then and there!I made it to work and my fiancé called a different dealership that many people had recommended to us, and told them the problems we were having and asked if they could get it in to look at it! We had already decided that we were NOT dealing with the original dealership anymore because of the issues in the past and the poor customer service and rudeness that came along with it! This other dealership was not local, like the one we purchased it from, but we were told so many good things about them and I had known of several people that purchased vehicles from them and always had good luck, so thats why we decided to go with a different dealership this time!!! They were very nice to my fiancé, and tried to get the vehicle in as soon as possible to look at it! This was on a Thursday and they made us an appointment to bring the vehicle on the following Monday morning!My fiancé went and got THREE quarts of oil to put in the vehicle, thinking maybe that would quiet it down or at least keep it going until we could get it to the other dealership that following Monday! It got me home from work that night, and that next morning my fiancé got in it to take the kids to school, and he calls me and he says I really dont know if I’m going to make it back home in this thing, it sounds like its just going to blow any minute, and it will barely go up hills! He did make it home. And the second he pulled in the driveway the motor blew up! It was done for! Wouldnt do anything... Now what to do???We knew that we were going to have to have the vehicle towed no matter where we took it, and the dealership we had the appointment with the following Monday was a good ways away, and we didnt want an outrageous towing bill, so we decided to call the original dealership back... seeing how it was just 10 minutes away, and told them what had just happened! The guy my fiancé spoke with was very rude! Which was nothing new, because they had always been rude to us over the vehicle! He told my fiancé that it would be at least 3 to 4 weeks before they could even get the vehicle inside the garage to even look at it, because they were busy and shorthanded! He made it VERY clear that we would have to pay the tow bill and have it towed to them (which I knew that!). Im thinking... 3 to 4 weeks before they can even look at it??? What am I going to do!?So we call General Motors and we tell them the situation, and ALL the problems we have had with it, and they were very cooperative! They started a case and gave us a case number! Come to find out, they have had MANY issues with the Equinoxs. There was even a special coverage adjustment on it due to... Excessive Oil Consumption... and we were under the impression that they were going to help us out and do something about it, considering that was probably a big part in why the motor was blew up now!!! We were told that in order for them to start the case that we would HAVE to take it to the dealership we purchased it from and go through them... because right off the bat we asked if we could have it taken somewhere else!!!We were told that they would be contacting the dealership and let them know what was going on and that the vehicle would need to be towed over to the dealership and that they would be getting back in touch with us soon! We had the vehicle towed over to the dealership and the manager in the service department told us right of the bat that it was going to be awhile before they could even get in in the garage but he would try to get to it as soon as he could! They did give us another vehicle to drive! At first General motors was very cooperative and concerned over our issue and kept in contact with us, and then it was like... nothing! We would go a week or longer without hearing anything from the lady at GM that was handling our case, or the dealership!My fiancé and I would call and call GM trying to get through to the lady handling our case and we would get told Shes on the other line with another call, but Im sending a message through to her right now and she will get back with you as soon as possible! Or we would leave her messages on her voice mail and still never hear anything back from her! This was an everyday thing!!! We contacted the dealership to see if they had spoke with GM or knew what was going on and the manager at the service department was very rude with my fiancé and informed him that it looked to them as if the vehicle had been neglected and not kept up on its regular oil changes and that he wanted documentation where we had the oil changed in the vehicle!I do believe his exact words were And I dont mean some receipts from your buddies down to the local mechanic shop either. I want documentation from an actual dealership where they changed the oil in it!!! Okay... every car I have ever owned in my 30 years, my father or fiancé has changed the oil in them 90% of the time! So how was I going to get documentation from an actual dealership for an oil change... and why is it even the dealership’s say so on what we need to show them when GM motors is the one handling the case!? Because its not up to GM if the vehicle gets fixed, Im the one who has the say-so was the answer I got from the manager at the service department! So we try to contact GM and the lady handling our case. AGAIN to see what in the world is going on!When we finally got through to her, we told her what the dealership was telling us, and that we needed documentation from a dealership where we have had the oil changed, and how we change the oil ourselves, and how confused we were because we thought GM was calling the shots, but manager at the service department said he was! She told us that she understand that we changed our own oil, but if we COULD to try and get receipts where we have had it changed in the past or purchased the oil ourselves... and that they didnt understand why the dealership was making such a big deal over it because GM were the ones replacing the motor NOT the dealership!!!Then we get told from the dealership that GM doesnt pay to replace the motor... They replace the motor and then GM will reimburse them back, and that he (the manager at the service department) is the one that has to sign his name off to do that, and he couldnt until we turned him in receipts where we had the oil changed because to them it looked like we neglected the vehicle and it was our fault, and if GM decided not to reimburse them back, then they are the ones out thousands of dollars!!! Then we get told by GM that they dont handle it that way! They SEND the dealership the new motor so they didnt know why the dealership was making such a big deal over it!I go through this back and forth ** for about a week... and in the meantime my fiancé goes to a couple auto stores here in town to see if they would have any receipts where we purchased oil, and that was a no-go because he was told that their computer systems didnt keep records of oil purchases! They had records of other stuff we purchased... windshield wipers, filters etc. but not of oil! I know of a couple times we purchased oil from Walmart, so I even went on my Walmart app where I scan my receipts to get rewards back, and I still couldnt find anything, once my father purchased the oil and oil filter and changed it in his garage, but he didnt have the receipts! I could come up with one receipt showing where we had the oil changed back in August before we went on vacation!The lady at GM told me to fax it to her and she gave me all the info and I faxed it right away! She was supposed to contact us back the following day after she received the receipt, and did not! We went a week without hearing anything back from them! We called time after time, leaving her voice messages and being told shes not at her desk right now, but we will give her the message that its urgent and that you need to speak to her right away! Still wouldnt hear anything back! One afternoon I was out washing the rental car that the dealership had loaned me, and my fiancé calls to tell me that the dealership just called him and told him that if we didnt have some documentation where we changed the oil by Friday that we needed to return their rental car and that they were gonna shove mine out back!!!My fiancé had told the manager that we already faxed the receipt over to the lady handling our case at GM but she hadnt contacted us back, and once again he told fiancé, that HE wanted the receipts, they were the ones that called the shots!!! I was SO upset when he called and told me, that I wanted to take the rental car back over to them right then and there before they tried to say I mistreated their vehicle! I was SO upset and tired of getting the run-a-around over this damn vehicle that was blew up and that I still had to make the monthly payment on, that had been sitting over there to the dealership for almost a month now... that I just lost it! I sat on the back porch and just cried my eyes out, and I will never forget my 6 year old son coming and sitting down beside me and patting me on the back and telling me Dont cry mommy, we will get your car fixed... and when I get older Ill go buy you a new, better car!We contacted GM again and told them how the dealership was treating us and that we were SO confused on who was the one that was supposed to be handling this, because were getting told something totally different than what they were telling us! The lady at GM said she would contact the dealership and just to wait on taking the rental car back that day and she would figure out what was going on and get back with us the next day!!! Well that next day came, and Friday (when they told me to bring their car back if I couldnt provide them receipts) and the weekend... and Monday and we STILL never got a call back from the lady at GM nor the dealership! Tuesday evening around 3:30 the dealership calls and says they want their rental car back now! I take the rental car back over to them and at this point Im beyond and over the hill furious!My fiancé and I walk in the service department to give the keys back to the manager and he wants to know if we have those receipts for him!? I explained to him that... No. I did not. I faxed it over to Canedra (the lady handling the case) like I was told to! I started digging in my purse and luckily I still had the receipt in my purse! I gave it to him, and he immediately gets rude and starts shaking his head and tells us That’s unexpectable! We explained to him all the trouble we had went through to try and come up with some receipts where we purchased oil because we change the oil ourselves and we had no luck, but he didnt care one bit! I explained to him that Canedra (at GM) told us that it didnt really matter if we had records or not, so I was confused to as why he was even making such a big deal out of it!His exact words were I dont care who you talked to. One day you can get Shanequa... and the next you could get Tom. You aint talking to the right person, you need to call them and tell them YOU need to talk to someone in the US... because when you call them they’re sending you to someone overseas that dont know what they’re talking about! I told him that we would go out in the parking lot and call them right then and there! He said You need to tell them that they need to contact ME as of last month, because I got your vehicle sitting back there taking up space and we’re about ready to shove it out back! My fiancé and I go straight out into the parking lot and call GM... and OF COURSE we get told Shes not at her desk right now, but Im sending her a message right now to get back with you ASAP! We demanded to speak to someone NOW!My fiancé told her that we we’re standing out front of the dealership and they were needing to know something NOW, as well as us too! After about 10 minutes we finally got through to her! We told her what was going on and asked if she had got the receipt we faxed a week ago?! She told us she did, and that she was going to put us on hold and call the manager there at the service department now! We were on hold forever, and we knew the service station was closing soon so we decided to head back home, and my fiancé phone had went dead anyhow!We get halfway home and after trying to call the lady back 50 times she finally calls us back to tell us that she just spoke with the manager at the service department and he says that there was black sludge in the oil filter, and that we had neglected the vehicle and that was why it was in the shape it was in and the one receipt we had was not enough, so unfortunately they werent going to be able to replace the motor! My fiancé asked her... So even though the vehicle has a recall, or is under some extended warranty due to excessive oil consumption, which has probably led the vehicle to the shape its in, you’re telling me there is absolutely nothing you can do because the manager at the dealership told you we neglected the car and because we could only provide one receipt where we changed the oil???She replied Yes sir unfortunately so... He says there is some kind of black sludge due to not changing the oil, and the one receipt isnt enough proof! My fiancé asked her if there was some kind of law stating that we had to take our vehicles to an actual dealership to have an oil change and get documentation!? And she replied No sir there is no law! We both were just SO upset and mad that he just hung up on her and turned around to head back to the dealerships service station but they had already closed! I just cried the whole way home! Thinking... what am I going to do!? I have no vehicle. I havent had one for a month now. And its all up to me to fix it now! I went and talked to my father about it, because I didnt know what to do and needed his advice since his name was on the loan as well!He advised me to look into the Lemon Law... so I did! In the meantime I called the dealership to ask them where the vehicle was because I needed to have it towed back to the house until I figured out what to do. I didnt know if they still had it in the shop or had already shoved it out back like he said! He told me that yes it out back AND before they could even release the vehicle to us that I needed to take care of my bill for 600 dollars where they tore the motor apart to diagnose the problem and put it back together! Which I wasnt aware of... but he said I was because I signed a paper that stated that! Okay. Not only do I not have a vehicle but I just had to make the monthly payment on it which was 300 dollars but NOW I gotta come up with 600 dollars just to get the keys and have it towed outta there! In the meantime someone contacted me from a law firm through the Lemon Law website I went on!They told me I needed to get all the information on the vehicle and a copy of the warranty and all documentation that the dealership had record of from previous times I had the vehicle to them! So I did... only to get told that where I declined to have the oil consumption diagnostic test done before, that they wouldnt look into my case! What do I do now? My father called over to the dealership to tell them the vehicle was gonna have to sit for a while because I was still trying to come up with the 600 dollars to pay them! He asked them how much it would cost for them to just replace the motor, and for a new motor from GM 2 year warranty I do believe it was going to be around 7 thousand dollars, BUT they called around and found a used one with low mileage for 2,500! As of now mine had around 88,000 miles on it! I put a little 20,000 miles on it from the time I bought it!My father and I decided to just try and pay to have a used motor put in it because there was no way either one of us could come up with 7 thousand dollars for a new motor! We went to the bank where the loan was through and tried to have it refinanced, and get an extra 3000 to get it fixed, and that was a no go! We went to several other places to try and get a loan even just until I got my tax return in a few months and was able to pay it back and nowhere would help us out, as I stated before... My credit is not good, and my father’s debt to ratio was too much! What do I even do now? I’ve been without a vehicle for over a month, still making the payments on it and the motor is blew up, and I cant even get the money to fix it!I was in such a mess over this vehicle and so upset and stressed out on top of other things going on in my life that the only thing I could think of to do is file bankruptcy... So I made an appointment with a lawyer and gathered up all the information I needed to take to my appointment, and one of the things I had to do was get my credit report and write down everything I owed! When I looked at my credit report I noticed that the loan for the vehicle wasnt even showing up, and that was the whole reason I was going to file bankruptcy. Come to find out, my name isnt even on the loan! Just my father’s name. So thats a no go!So NOW it has been almost 2 months since I have been without a vehicle and dealt with all this **, and its still sitting over to the dealership in their building out back, with no way of getting it fixed until February or March when I get my tax return, and this WHOLE mess has now become all on my poor father (which just found out he has skin cancer on his nose) because the vehicle is only in his name! I have never in my life been in such a situation where I feel so helpless and like a total failure! I dont even know what to think, or say or even do about this mess! Im clueless! We bought a 2005 Buick Rendevous in 1-1-2005. We, and two different servicemen, have never been able to remove the spare tire, when needed. The cabin heat controls dont work properly, a fuel filter and sensor has to be removed for service periodically, and be replaced. The radio wont pick up stations, as well as my 1999 F350, and when my wife took it to Deters in Atlantic, Iowa, she was treated rudely. From reading the complaints of others, I dont believe I am interested in another GM product! It doesnt sound like you take care of your complaints. I will be buying a new 1 ton crew cab diesel pickup in 2012, but it doesnt look like Ill even consider GM.

We walked into one of the dealerships to check out the new Cadillacs and the new Chevys and have an idea about the cars. When I walked into the dealership, I sat in the back of one of their cars and when I tried to get out, I couldnt. After that, the sales person at the Cadillac dealership approached us and I was disgusted by her attitude. We talked about leasing an SRX and she told us she would like to get us into a 2013 SRX. The car that we brought in had less than 8,000 miles on it. She offered to appraise the vehicle, but to our surprise, she came back with a high lease payment with high down payment for a 2013 SRX even when all incentives and discounts were applied to it. I was even more disgusted by her and her attitude. After that, we left. Personally, I would never do business with a dealership like that, and you would think that we would be treated better given the fact that we have been loyal customers with GM for 21 years.

I purchased a brand new 2021 trailblazer in September 2020. While driving home from work November 20, 2020 my breaks, power steering, and stabilitrack went out all at the same time. Mind you, I am driving on a very busy street in Indianapolis also coming up on a very busy intersection. Luckily the left turn lane had no vehicle in it, but there was a red light and I could not stop. I looked both ways and braced myself for a horrible accident. Thankfully, I was able to get my vehicle turned and into a parking lot without getting hit or hitting anyone. I had to have my vehicle towed to Hubler Chevrolet (who took very good care of me). I did not purchase my vehicle from them. When I got home and checked the mail, there was a recall letter from GM stating there has been a recall on my vehicle due to the breaking system and the parts being contaminated. Also, due to the vehicle being so new, there were no parts yet available to fix the issue. I opened a case through GM and it was a struggle from then. Over a month for them to let me know that it was not a manufactures issue, but they would fix my vehicle at no cost to me due to the recall. Fast forward two months. Mind you, I still do not have my vehicle, yet I’m still paying on it. I receive a call from Hubler that the parts came in, but they are not programming with my vehicle. Two weeks later I received another call that more parts came in and those were not programming with my vehicle. I then called GM to initiate a buy back. About two weeks later Hubler called and stated my vehicle is now fixed and I could come pick it up. I receive a call today from GM stating they refused my buy back because my vehicle is now working properly. I am livid to say the least!

Took tahoe in for running badly. Told it needed a tune up. Ha. Platinum tip plugs on their Monroney sticker on windshield states platinum tip plugs good for 100k. They cleaned the throttle body. Replaced the platinum tip plugs with of course platinum tip plugs and after 300 dollars still runs rough. Mind u this tahoe has less than 80k miles. Then was told it had a broken motor mount on drivers side. Another 550 to replace. Called GM, no help at all. Give us a 100 back on the 300 dollars already spent for original problem that still isnt fixed. I have been in the car business for 20 plus years. Was a GM and manager for several dealerships. Pigs poor service from GM. Would never buy another GM product!! Terrible customer service!! Talked to Natalie originally and was told they would get involved if the local dealer didnt do anything. After I talked to her, asked for her boss and was told the same bs. Asked for her supervisor and was told couldnt give me that info. This is how gm takes care of their customers??

So bought a 2011 Cruze 1.4 used. It had only 29000 miles so I thought what could possible go wrong with purchasing such a low mileage automobile. Well little did I know this first year production in the US would be a bad thing for this car. The engine eats water pumps to the tune of 3 since new, and then it also has used up 2 turbos as well. A case of poor design I guess on both, and yet customer service does very little but stroke you into thinking they care and issuing you a fancy customer service ticket. As if they will get these problems resolved for you ASAP. Yea, wishful thinking if you think GM will do this for you. I dont know which has turned me off of GM more, their poorly built automobiles or their terrible customer service. But lets not blame the local dealer here, who faces warranty rejection on claims not approved by GM. So they have little recourse too but to do what GM instructs them too. I definitely will never give GM any more of my business as long as I live. Consider yourself lucky if you get a reliable GM products.

I put my wipers on high and they quit working! I got myself to the breakdown lane (SCARY). I tried a couple things to fix the situation but it didnt work so the rain let up and I followed a friend 5 miles to the nearest GMC dealer. There they told me the wiper transmission broke and it would cost 450.00. so I am vulnerable position so I had to paid and had to move on! Now when I got back from my trip I researched my issue and went to dealer that I bought my car and no one could help me (no recalls and my mileage was too high (67000)). I didnt realize that I had my wipers on for 67000 miles?? This part is not a serviceable part and also how many miles have I really used those wipers?I am more disappointed in GM CUSTOMER SERVICE in how they are handling this. They do not understand the magnitude of the situation! I researched this and in 2013 GM recalled the same things and in Canada GM recalled 2010-2017 Terrain for the same part number and issue. And also my Terrain was mfg in CANADA but once it is driving in the US it is not covered under the recall of Canada! I was looking for complete payment of 450.00. GM CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT REALIZE THAT A LIFE COULD OF BEEN LOST AND 450.00 IS NOTHING COMPARED TO THAT!!!

My mechanic bought a new transmission from GM dealership and was programmed by GM Representative. I called GM headquarters seeking for at least to help pay for the transmission not the labor since I realize it was installed by third party. I spoke with senior representatives, directors of customer service and even customer service to resolve issue when I complained to Better Business Services. They did not care that the car had only 54000 miles. They refused to even pay a portion of it. I will never buy a GM car! Nor will anyone in the my family. They showed such disservice to GM customer. What transmission gives out 54000 miles. Never again GM. I will only make displeasing comments about GM.

Why is it when the recalls on Pontiac hit the news, oh GM did this and GM did that but the other problems are for people who have these cars financed? You go through KBB or Auto-trader for a quote on what your car is worth and its nowhere near what you owe on the car even with a less than 4% finance rate. Even with your car being in great shape, you still cant get what its worth but then you check the dealerships for the same car and its 4000, 5000, even as much as 6000 more than your KBB and Auto Trader and these cars arent in as good of shape as yours. This is another problem that GM has caused and the dealerships are being paid to fix the cars by GM and then clearing $4000.00 or more on the sales of these cars. Its not right to the persons who have to pay for these cars to never get back what the cars are worth. Come on, GM. Step up and buy these cars back and then you try to sell them and see how quick your mistakes are putting the blue collar man in the hole.

I am a former executive of GM. While employed, I cautioned management via the PEP Program that for years GM has not fixed a problem with their driving lights on many of their vehicles. After a few years, at least one or both white driving lights burns out usually from a hot socket, Im told. Ive owned several GM vehicles and presently drive a Yukon among them. For years knowing my years with GM, my friends and acquaintances often tell me, You can most always tell/bet the GM vehicle approaching you with at least one driving light out is a GM truck, crossover, etc. at least 90%+ of the time. I have no answer as to why for years this kind of on-going negative on-road advertising has been allowed to exist, do you? If its a supplier wiring harness issue, lets fix it as no amount of TV and other media positive advertising can overcome a day and night visible problem that gets most peoples constant attention and commentary. (In short, would any of us re-buy vehicles that after a few years, long before their lifetime runs their course, visibly advertise that they have a rather simple visible fix that seems to be an endemic GM problem? I think not!) Like Forrest Gump is noted as saying, Stupid is as stupid does. For all our GM families sake, investigate and fix as appropriate this seemingly forever on the road negative adverting. All they can do is replace it until you are out of warranty. Then you are left with a car that you cannot get any or fair trade 2000 to wholesale for parts because of engine 3.6 L. This problem is being treated different at dealers. Cadillac will repair timing chain on a 1 on 1 case!!! Not the Chevy Equinox 3.6 L same engine. I guess because they pay more for their car. Anybody buying a used GM with this engine should look at car forums to see how many complaints there are. If GM wont stand behind their product knowing there is a problem is bad business. I will never buy a GM vehicle.

I purchased my vehicle in October, 2019. A couple months later, the vehicle experiences 4 recalls - 1 battery, 2 brake and 1 seat belt. After the dealer performed the recalls, the update broke several safety features such as front camera system, driver collision alerts, lane keep assist and whatever else. After attempting to fix the issue, they were unable to do so and escalated the case within GM. After GM was involved, the recommended solution was to replace the front camera system but the part was not in stock with no ETA of when it could be delivered. Over 20 days later, my brand new vehicle remains at the dealership unfixed due to the lack of a part. I escalated the issue with GM customer service and was assigned to someone named Victoria. Case #: **.After several exchanges with Victoria, nothing has been resolved. Victoria has assured me of several updates and working on the case, but has not been able to deliver for this vehicle. At this point, Ive explained my discomfort with the vehicle due to the variety of safety recalls and safety features that have gone awry. Ive explained I would like a comparable vehicle or a resolution that would restore my faith in a vehicle that seems to have had a bad run. Nothing has been done.

I went to Beck service department in Palatka to have my transmission looked at on my Chevy Silverado 2500 6.0, it started slipping last week out of OD when going uphill and wouldnt go back into OD, I had to pull over, put the car in park, shut it off, let the computer reset, turn back on then be on way and it would be fine until next hill. My truck shifted smoothly in all gears and sounded fine until I got it back from the transmission check. Now the shifting is hard. Almost impossible from park to reverse and back to park and other gears are hard shifting transmission was not running hot. Now it is and someone apparently used inside driver door panel to yank door closed causing issues there. Now door sounds like tin can closing when window down, not to mention the vibration it has that it didnt have before bad and when it does shift from park to reverse the whole truck jerks and whining sound, vibration in the accelerator pedal and shaking as if they adjusted the shift linkage wrong but service check was only for that a check $85 but something happened even if it were in the test drive and it was shifted improperly or ran too hard at high RPM. Now the tranny is worse than before. I needed it to hold out for a while but they did it in now. Im screwed $4000. They say for new one because of tcc and say metal in tranny. But was still drivable. Now not so much, I contacted the service department they are refusing responsibility of doing anything and it is much much worse. Since I picked it up they claim they didnt do anything to the transmission. I didnt have problems shifting before. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have been a client of General Motors for 17 years and have bought several of what I believed to be your high-quality vehicles. I purchased an Acadia in 2013. About 2-3 months ago, I noticed that the paint on the hood of the car was bubbling up. I brought it to the dealership, Morrissey GMC, in Rockville Centre, NY. I was told by the service representative that I was no longer covered by the warranty because I had exceeded 36,000 miles, even though I have an extended warranty.I brought the car to 3 other body shops, and I was told that the bubbling was a result of a defect in the paint. GMC should stand by their product, regardless of the car’s mileage, and repair it at no expense to me because regardless of the age or mileage of the car, the issue at hand is that the paint is defective—which is a quality control issue. In addition, I spoke to a customer service representative regarding this issue, and she said that GMC would not pay for the repair in full, they would cover approximately half of the expense. She refused to send an engineer to examine the car, stated that her decision was final, and would not allow me to speak with one of her superiors.Why should a client be responsible for a quality control issue, this is an expense that is normally incurred and covered by any respectable corporation. In addition, refusing to refer a client to a superior to resolve an issue is very unprofessional. Isn’t the client always right? This obviously isn’t the case with GMC. Aside from being a longtime client, I have referred people to GMC and purchases have been made a result of my referrals. I can honestly say that I expected better from a long-standing American Corporation that is supposed to pride itself and represent what used to be considered a corporation that set the standard for other American vehicle companies.Needless to say, I will not be referring GMC to anyone in the future and this letter will also be submitted to the Better Business Bureau as I don’t believe it is in good practice or professional to hold the client responsible for quality control issues, or for a customer service representative to ultimately determine the outcome of any situation when a client asks to speak to their superior.

I have a 2018 Chevy Traverse High Country and underneath the wheel fender skirt below happens to be a cheap fiber material that is starting to come down on the fifth day that I drove this vehicle and it will become a road hazard issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Which I think in my professional opinion it should have been a hard plastic that repels and prevents water intrusion and moisture from getting in the engine area department etc. Also for the tow hitch you have to remove the plastic panel in order to install a tow hitch that completely exposes the structure of the bumper which it looks awful. It should be a trim nicely around the tow hitch. Also you dont get any TVs nor USB MP3 configuration, the navigation is not accurate.

Just keep telling that I have to wait for the check engine to come. But that could be too late and costly. The thought of waiting to be stranded on the highway is scary. I am the sorry owner of a Chevy Impala. I have been a GM customer for over 20 years. I have always tried to support American made cars. My experience with this Impala has been a nightmare. I have taken it to the dealer several times and have gotten treated very poorly. The rear defrost just quit working. Tire system failed, now I am waiting to be seen for the recall and need to have someone check out why my car gives me the message engine power reduced. Once I have these things done, I will be returning this car and I will never purchase an automobile from GM or any of its affiliates. I am so disgusted with this car. I depend on this car (I cant call it an automobile or vehicle) to take my child back and forth and I need to get to work. I cannot afford to jeopardize her safety. I will never recommend GM to anyone.

Called dealer/service... $40 for part, $100 for labor. The part fell out on its own. Submitted an email to GM customer care. After a week of phone tag all they did was call same dealer and confirm repair cost. The part is available online for $19. Chevy, GM and their dependent businesses all lost me as a customer today. Complete waste of time. No discount offered... NOTHING! Do not buy GM cars. They dont care about their customers after the sale at all. GM has no pride in their product.

Several calls to customer service where they claim to have escalated the matter up the ladder but no results. GM can’t even give us an ETA on the needed part. Renting a means of transportation for an undetermined amount of time is unacceptable! Nobody has even attempted to offer a resolution. We will never buy another GM product!

I am writing in regards to my recent Service on my truck at Woodlands Hills Ca. GMC. I have a couple things that needs to be addressed. In reviewing the details on my receipt it indicated that they put 9 quarts of oil in my truck. That cant be the case as the truck only holds 6 quarts. In doing a comparison of my 2-15-17 and yesterday’s receipts, I noticed in the inspection of the Brakes Pads does not make any sense. 2-15-17 Brake Inspection noted the front brakes at 6mm and the rear brakes at 5mm. 7-27-17 Brake inspection has the front brakes at 8mm and the rear brakes at 9mm. I have not had my brakes done and the pads cannot have gotten better. They should be more worn. This leads me to believe that the brakes were not check at all. Which further leads me to believe if any work was been done on my vehicle. I was advised I would be give a refund of the 3 extra quarts of oil by the Service Manager. This borders on fraud if not outright fraud.

Anyways, went to get a Malibu (sales) to my local dealer in which my whole family uses so I trusted it to be okay. Saw a Malibu Elite with a 29 something sale sticker that I wanted. Went to talk to a sales person at Vic Canever, said interested in the deal, we had to go look, he was unaware. He said that there was criteria. I didnt have a lease, a criteria BUT, he could get me close to that deal. Going thru his hour and a half of mumble jumbo I kept asking the price of the car. I got 29750 oh then better 29595! Great! Very excited! Well after 3 1/2 hours later very tired!Finance guy told me my payments. 417 month well I had a trade in on 3800 plus put down 5000 seemed high, so called the next day and the sales person claimed that the total of the car that I kept asking the amount included my trade in, Really! Bunch of **! Well when we went to the parking lot to look at the sticker sale, he didnt even know that I had a trade in or what it was, anyways ended up paying $3000 more than I thought. I feel like I was taken advantage of. I will never go back to Vic Canever in Fenton again! I know the deal that I got was average and almost just went somewhere else, but thought if I didnt purchase it then I would never get one (personal thing) anyways, love the car but cant enjoy until I get over this horrible experience! GM provides a full bumper to bumper warranty on their new cars as well as 24-hour roadside assistance program if your car happens to break down. As a consumer you are entitled to a tow and transportation to your home, work, or dealer. As I read in my contract after buying a new car from GM. My new car unfortunately broke down in an extreme way at only 300 miles due to water pump failure and engine overheat. Naturally I cannot drive the car anymore and have to pull over to side of the road and call GM 24 roadside assistance. This breakdown is a bummer, but it happens. Overall the call goes well. I am told a tow truck is on its way as well as a cab to take me home. Sounds fine. Except none of this happens.I call again after over an hour. Apparently there is no record of the tow trucks being sent or the cab. They apologize and resubmit the requests for me. Okay, mistakes happen. Again I wait for a tow and cab, but they never come. I call a third time. Same issue. So my request is resubmitted. I wait again, nothing comes. Its getting near 10pm now. Real bummer for me. Eventually I get a tow truck though. No cab. Reason? Cab cant be located. Weird. I get a cab via my phone app shortly afterward. That was a fun 5 hours.Since my car wasnt picked up till after 10pm, dealers are closed and I could not be given a loaner car (which you are entitled to if your car breaks down under warranty) to take me to work the next day. This is fine though since I am told GM can provide transportation to either the dealer or my work the next morning. Next morning I call GM roadside assistance. They say they will get me a ride to work. They call back 30 minutes later, they cannot provide me a ride to work. I ask for a ride to the dealer. They say okay. They call back 45 minutes later and say they cannot get me a ride to the dealer. I call my local dealer rather than 24 roadside assistance - they come pick me up and provide me with a loaner. Guess I shouldnt rely on promised services from GM directly.Conclusion: GMs 24 roadside assistance has obligations that they failed to meet in my situation. I do not understand why. If something is promised, but not provided, there should be accountability. I have not the time or resources to hold GM accountable, but the fault does not vanish. If GM cannot execute on obligations then they should not be stated to the consumer when vehicle is being purchased. One main reason I purchased a new car was the security of a warranty and assistance from GM if poor car operation became an issue. The car issue happened unfortunately, but GM failed to rise to its promises.GMs problem: big on promises, poor on execution. It was cheaper to screw me then to make good on a promise of service. As one person, what can I reasonably do? How can I reasonably prove lack of service effort on GMs part? GM knows the average consumer has neither the time or awareness on how to stand up for themselves. Thanks GM, you swindled me good. Even after going through bankruptcy, which as I recall we citizens paid for, GM still stutters about on cost savings of value proposition. Thanks US government, you made us pay for it. Next time, let capitalism run its course.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Z71. Since the vehicle was picked up at the dealer, the truck was pulling to the right. Not drifting, it was pulling. Wasted time out of my day and brought it back to the dealer. They aligned the front end. When picked up it was still pulling to the right. I decided to bring it to a dealer closer to my office and they aligned the front end again and rotated the tires. Lo and behold, still pulling. I dropped it off again and they adjusted the steering sensor and rotated the tires from left to right. Still pulling. I called GM and after being on hold for over 45 minutes they told me they would look into it. 4 days later they called me and said it might be the tires and they are not covered under warranty that I would have to contact Goodyear. I have no idea what to do next. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM GM PRODUCTS. THEY DONT CARE ONE BIT ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS OR CUSTOMERS.

After 83,000 miles on my Hummer 3 the head went out. The head has the same issue I was told by the dealer that the recalled 5 cylinder canyon head was having when GM recalled it. The cost for repair was $2705. GM made me believe that they would help me out but after the bill was paid 3 days later I received a phone call informing me that they would not help in this matter. At the GM dealer they did say that a head should not go bad after 83,0000 and thought the main office would do something. Just goes to show you why I will never buy GM the rest of my life and will make sure as many people as I know will know of this issue.

Got a 2017 GMC Sierra and the chrome wheels started peeling. Warranty had me give them 500.00 to replace the wheels which I did. Got new wheels on, got home from dealership and looked the wheels over. To say the least they looked like **. I could see sand scratches all through the chrome and pit marks everywhere. I took them back to the dealership the next day and they said there was nothing they could do. Fast forward a year and 7 days and the chrome is peeling, and the tires wont hold air. I took them to a tire shop and they pull me into the garage to show me that the chrome is peeling off and corroding underneath where the tire seals. Clearly these wheels were refurbished and not prepped correctly. I contacted GMC multiple times and since I was 7 days out of warranty there was nothing they could do. Needless to say, Ill never purchase another GMC product again. Its sad when you spend so much on these trucks that they wont replace something so simple and go back on the company that refurbished the wheels.

Again, this was over a month ago and still no parts. I called GM to see if they could help. After about 7 days of waiting on a response from GM, was told that there was nothing they could do and should continue to reach out to the dealer. So I call the dealer back to be told that they have over 40 other vehicles on their lot that they can’t service because they can’t get parts from GM. I think this is the most ridiculous thing that GM cannot get parts to the dealers do that the vehicles they sell can be serviced or repaired. WHAT A JOKE. And they can’t blame it on the strike. Was told by dealer service manager, they were have issues getting parts before the strike.

I have been trying to resolve an issue with a dealership and with GM customer service regarding my 2014 Chevy Spark. This vehicle has had 3 (yes, three) piston replacements as well as a new engine put in. They are giving me the runaround regarding a buy back under the lemon law. They seem to have no interest in keeping a customer or accepting responsibility. I was warned about the dealership but I thought GM would step up to the plate. No such luck so far. So disappointed.

Dart motors are american made. We used Chevy Crate motors for power, 454 cu. in. V8 Big-Blocks, but as all things Chevy it was recast differently to save monies, thinner casting. Then the blocks started to crack, vertical lines in the cylinders after approx. 100 hours use. No junk. Time to move on now to 350 CID v8, burns oil out the box on fire up. Use approx. one qt. oil every 20 to 30 minutes. Called Victory Chevy in Ft. Myers, FL for warranty: No you need to call GM at ** This was a joke. Was told it is my intake gasket. I have been building same products, same parts for 25 plus years. Said needed to pull intake and take photos of intake gasket on motor. Pulled intake, no oil in intake runners, gasket perfect so I pulled heads, oil on top of #s 3-5 and 7. Piston #7 the worst, so pulled piston meat on, piston between ring lands, broke out 3 inch piece. This has happened on two of the last 4 motors. We now use only Dart Motors, no more problems. Other problems to watch for, rings hammered into cylinder, no bolts in cam timing, gear lifters come apart. 100 hrs. no impeller in water pump or impeller spins on shaft. This is poor quality control. Have now learned what GMC stands for: General Mexican Crap. Good bye Chevy!!! Captain Mitch.

Thousands of $ in repairs since September (like in the neighborhood of $6500) - not including the usual oil changes and new tires. Went to pick it up today after a new transmission installation and the car is whining like crazy. Do they even test drive these things before they turn them loose for customers to take out on the road?? This has been an ongoing issue and finally GM Corporate agreed to pay $1111.23 of this most recent repair (not included in OUR $6.5k to date). Now its back in the shop (fortunately we didnt even drive off the lot before we went right back in and said something was wrong - AGAIN). Called GM Corporate but its after 5:00 so my rant will have to wait until tomorrow when they call back. CRAPPY SERVICE @ SHENANDOAH MOTORS.

Service center completely scammed me. If I could give it a zero I would. Took my car in a year ago because it was stalling. They said they fixed it for $400 which some was covered under warranty. They replaced timing chain and gaskets. Still stalling so recently I had aftermarket solenoids put in. It was still stalling and check engine light came. Took it to Gordon’s and John ** told me it would be $542 and that’s it’s because I had aftermarket solenoids. I was hesitant, but he convinced me it would be running good after. Next day he calls me and tells me it will be over $1400. But at this point they already changed the solenoids and that didn’t work. They misdiagnosed the problem. I tell them forget it and pick up my car. On the work order for the 1400 they have timing chain, gaskets and actuator. The same things they supposedly fixed a year ago. They still charged me $500 for the solenoids. Paid $500 for absolutely nothing and check engine lights still on. Nothing fixed for $500. I will be putting in a complaint through the state of Michigan. We actually have also talked to our cousin who is a lawyer. I feel like they took advantage of me because I am a woman. Also when I questioned him he hung up on me!

Car dash said Service ABS, power, saver mode, traction control, service ESC and then died. I took to shop and they replaced the PCM is what they told me. Car has since had lose of power, sluggish, dies periodically, and now almost 3 years after thousand dollar repair not to mention the air bag light that is on that they are telling me will cost at least 1000 dollars as well to repair as my car is out of warranty and that it is a safety concern. My car died again while coming through a intersection and the P0341 has come up and been replaced four times since February 2019. This car is a danger and I am forced to drive it when it runs as I have so much money invested I cant afford a new one. I have also replaced the throttle body and just about every sensor under the hood including spark plugs and battery and car is still acting up. Why are they not helping us. Someone is going to get killed. It stalls suddenly and with little to no warning. I am terrified to transport my kids in this car. Please help us…

I have owned GM products since the early 80s, including 2 Buicks, 2 Corvettes, a Malibu, an Envoy and now a Terrain Denali. This included a full navigation system that listed at over $400. Just over a year after the purchase the navigation system stopped working, but since I did not use it, I did not bring it in to get to get fixed. I did bring it in just past the warranty period of 2 years and they were unable to service it that as the particular service tech that worked on these systems was not in. Finally got it in yesterday, 3 years after purchase and they want $728 to replace a interface control module. Yes its over the 2 year warranty period, so they are correct, but this is just too much. So much for customer loyalty. I have redeemed over $19,000 of the GM Card on new products and now I am cancelling and will never buy another GM product. Currently have over $3k credit on the card and cant use that to fix the navigation system either. This module also runs the ON-STAR system.

Own 3 Chevy Sonics. 2014 I bought mine, loved it so much we bought our 2 children one each in 11/16. In Jan of this year (2018) our sons car burnt up while it was parked and ignition was off for at least an hour. No modifications were made to this car. Fire department, and insurance company both said that the fire started under the hood. We called GM immediately. It took over 3 1/2 months for GM to even send anyone to look at it and it was after the insurance company had to threaten them. I went back to dealership, and was told that the car was still under factory warranty and they should have investigated it as soon as it happened. The GM investigator that did speak to me was rude and told me (3 months after the fire), I am sure the car has been scrapped for metal by now...which it had not been. He also said Well we dont know that the car catching on fire was fault due to the motor...and I replied You wouldnt know cause you sent no one out. On April 3, 2018 I emailed our insurance company and they said that GM would have a decision in 2 weeks. I have requested a status regularly and it has been 7 months with no response as in no call, email or letter from GM. All I asked was that they stand by their warranty. I understand that to GM this is a game of corporate bullying. They have no interest in providing a valid service to their customers. Their mission statement We at GM make a strong commitment to our customers, employees, partners, and other important stakeholders. They continue to promote that they are guided by five principles including Safety and Quality first...Create Lifelong Customers. GM has demonstrated to me that they do not stand by their product or their mission. GMs only mission is to serve themselves at the expense of their customers. I will never buy a GM vehicle again.

Obviously being a issue with transmission before the warranty was up, GM refuses any assistance at all. Said because I didnt buy it from a GM dealership, there is nothing they will do. So please be very careful buying any GM vehicle from anyone. They will not stand behind what they make, and you will be treated the same way I was.

There is a extended warranty but they only rebuild the cylinder affected by the oil usage and they do not take care of any problems. After that...its been in the shop twice for the engine light on which ended up being low on oil... Im sick of having this Chevy. I wish I could get all our money back on this Chevy product... Went into Ed Morse Service in Sunrise, FL with my 2003 Silverado diesel. Cost of repair for fuel injectors and related parts with labor, $6,500. Found out GM KNEW the injectors were deficient, so they extended the warranty time and mileage to 200,000 miles and then changed the design on future models. My truck had 179,900 miles but was beyond the warranty time limit, so I asked GM Customer Care if they would just cover the bad injectors and I would pay for all other parts and labor. Their response was in no way will we help you since you are out of warranty. The Customer Care rep was rude, didnt know about the warranty change and chased me away from buying another Chevy truck.

GM now has to replace the 3-timing chains. They told me to have a diagnostic test at their dealer, I had already had one done, brought car to local dealer. Sure enough my mechanic was correct. Code P008 timing chains stretched. Paid $160 for this for GM to tell me Sorry a service bulletin is not a recall. On real next step is I will try BBB for this is the first very expensive car I bought for my handicap child and this is just not right. Will not give up.

I purchased a 2014 Chevy Equinox on 7/3/14, and traded in my 2012 Equinox for it. I loved my 2012 and wanted to upgrade from the 4 cyl. to the 6 cyl. Since the purchase date, I have had it in the shop 4 times for the same problem. 3 were with one dealership, the other one with another place to get another opinion. My complaint has been with the steering. It feels loose and non-responsive, and I also experience a terrible groaning noise and vibration at low speeds when making turns, backing out of my driveway, or trying to make normal parking lot maneuvers.On the first visit, they said a bulletin indicated a replacement of the alternator and a hose was necessary to quiet the groaning noise and vibration, so they had to order the parts and they sent me on the way. Within a few days the car was back in, to have those parts replaced. Needless to say that did not remedy the problem. After a short time passed, I took it back in complaining of the same problem. I have argued with the service departments, and begged them to just start changing parts to try and eliminate the issue. They have checked the steering pump, the hoses, the steering rack etc. and always say they cannot find a problem. It was suggested after the 2nd time in the shop, to contact GM customer service to get them involved. So I did. I explained the issue, was told someone would contact me in 24-48 hours, and needless to say, no one contacted me back at that point.For the 3rd visit, I took it to another dealership. Its amazing how everyone can hear the noise and feel the shutter in the steering but each time since the first visit, I get the same story about nothing being wrong. The dealerships say they cant just simply switch out parts that arent defective to try to remedy the steering looseness and the groaning noise. They can only do what GM allows them to do.Before making yet another call to GM and to ensure that I wasnt crazy, I decided to test drive another model just like mine. I did not encounter the same problems in the one I test drove, like I do with my own. And, for yet another opinion, I contacted a family member who also has the same model year as mine, and again she confirmed her vehicle does not have the same issues, but does indeed have its own set of issues with the A/C and safety warning systems.Since nothing came from my 3rd visit, and I could at least challenge that the issues with my vehicle are not normal cause it doesnt happen with others, I made another call to GM, this was 8/27/14. Again I was told my issue would escalated and someone would call me back. I also stopped in to the dealership again, and said I was bringing the vehicle back in, and the noise and shutter were getting worse. They scheduled my appointment for 9/3/14. On 8/28/14 I received a call back from Cecelia. I have never experienced someone so short spoken, heartless and condescending. I argued every point I could with her. Recalling the issues in detail, the conversations I have had with the dealerships, the fact that they say parts cant be replaced unless defective because GM wont let them, the fact that other vehicles like mine do not have the same issue etc. Cecelias response was simple and short You have an appointment with the dealership on 9/3 to diagnose your vehicle. There is nothing else we can do. She didnt care at all about the matter.I dont know how much more effectively I could have communicated that diagnosing the vehicle had been attempted and that I was asking for someone to take ownership in the repair needs and let the dealership start replacing parts. In the end, Cecelia said I am closing your case, and I said that they would hear from my attorney and the media, and she hung up.Today is 9/4/14, and needless to say, I once again got the call from the service dept. saying nothing is wrong, and that they are sorry they cant do anything to help me. On Monday, when the dealership owner returns, I will be working with him to get out of this vehicle and either back into my old Equinox, which they still have and I know I can trust, or finding an entirely different car. I am deeply saddened that I had to experience this trouble. I thought for sure one Equinox to the next, I would love the vehicle the same.I think GM needs to fire Cecelia. I saw another post from someone else complaining about her too. Perhaps she can only do so much, but for her to not even pretend to care about the safety of me and my family (or anyone elses) is inexcusable and makes GM looks even worse.

I have taken my truck to two auto body repair shops. Both have told me that the cab paint peeling looks like a rust through problem to them. The first time I went to King GM, the customer service representative told me the GM doesnt cover sheet metal. After taking my vehicle to two auto body repair shops, one of them said that the vehicles in that model year were, in fact, covered by a rust through warranty. Checking my owners manual, it does state that rust through is covered for 6 years or 100,000 miles. I have a little over 33,000 miles on my vehicle, and we are well within the 6 year time frame.I went back to King GM and contacted John **, the service manager, from King GM in Longmont, Co. He took pictures of the problem and sent it to a regional specialist who promptly rejected the claim. It was then forwarded to a DMA who chimed in with the same rejection. I would like to know why someone who has actually seen the problem refers to it as a rust through problem, yet the GM people see a picture and reject any resolution. I purchased a new 2019 Chevy Blazer in June 2019. In October 2019 another driver ran a red light and hit me. My car had front end damage that I have now been waiting over 4 months for repair on. GM cannot tell the dealership or the repair shop when the parts will be in and will not assist in putting me in a replacement vehicle in the interim. I started a claim within their customer service department at corporate and cannot get anyone to assist me or return my calls. I have been waiting over a month to speak to an actual person to help me. In the interim I have no vehicle and am out of pocket almost $5,000 in rental car fees. GM has forgotten the customer in customer service and as someone whose last 4 vehicles were GM, it is disappointing to see. I will not be a return customer anymore after this horrible ongoing experience. Stay away. They cannot meet the demand for parts on anything, nor do they care.

After 5 long weeks I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I do not know if me reporting GM to BBB (Better Business Bureau) AutoLine Group has anything to do with their quick response or if my multiple calls per day or annoying email have anything to do with it. I am now on first name basis with the service manager at the dealership and I must say he has been so much help throughout this entire process. My advice to anyone out there is to be persistent and dont back down, someone will listen. Hold them responsible.

My $50,000 truck had a transmission issue at just over 70k miles because of the OE fluid and GMC offered me a $50 off coupon for my next visit. No offer to take care of the expense caused by a subpar fluid put in at the factory. Their tech service bulletin specifically stated the first step to the repair was replace the OE fluid with Mobile 1 transmission fluid, if that doesnt correct the issue, replace the torque converter. This is a well known problem and yet they leave their loyal customers to absorb the repair expenses.

I never seen such a total stupid unnecessary device in my life. I had one tire worked on 3 times and they found nothing wrong but it still leaked. Most tire dealers drop the nut off the sensor and let it drop into the tire not wanting to tell you it cost another $80.00 a tire to fix the problem the junk sensor. I own a tire gauge and can see a low tire that does not cost an extra $300.00 from my social security.I called gmc customer service 5 times and got nothing but the run around. Rep 3 wanted me to spell sensor three times, said he had never heard of that type of auto part. Rep 4 asked for my first name then put me on hold then rep 5 asked for my last name, then my address and I said 6867, only my house number then she asked me to spell it. So I said six eight six seven. Then she started to explain why I had to spell. I never got my whole address out she kept talking over me. The whole experience was like a comedy routine saturday night live. Smartest man movie.

Bought a 2020 Chevy Silverado from Rountree Moore Chevy in Lake City Florida May 2020. At 600 miles truck would not start. Sent to dealer, they cleared the computer, sent me on my way. 3-400 miles later did the same thing. Truck came back and they kept the truck for 30+ days waiting on a fuel part. Truck was fixed and got it back in July. November 30 truck did the same thing, would not start, just turns over. Took truck back asked for a buy back (same part broke) or new truck. Dealer told me to call GM, start a claim. I did right then. Just received a call from GM corporate denying the claim saying the dealer has to start a technical claim. Tried to 3 way the dealer in to get all on the same page and the corporate rep hung up during the call. I have been given the runaround from both the dealer and Chevy, Florida laws says this is a lemon, both are trying their best to avoid the situation rather than correct it. Truck has 9000 miles on it, has been in the shop 3 times for the same problem and has been in the shop more than 30 days total. I spent days of my time dealing with it, spent $55,000 and its only 8 months old. Think twice before buying a GM product. I guess I am forced to hire help now. All I can do is share my experience and hope good people learn from it. Thank You.

My transmission failed in my Saturn close to 100,000 miles. I bought a remanufactured transmission from GM which cost over $5,000 dollars. Over $1,200 to install. Lasted 16 months and 9,400 miles. GM/Saturn said Im over the year so although Im so far under the mileage they said sorry cant help you. 9,400 miles for over $6,000 dollars. They are selling us defective items and stealing our money. Shame on them and I hope all future consumers boycott GM. They could care less about you and are ripping us off. No more GM products and Im spreading the word to all friends, family, and any way I can get the word out. Everyone I know cant believe how they treat people. Shame on all of you and I hope no one is stupid enough to bail you out again. You dont deserve it.

Sign said Free engine code light analysis, so I did. They read the code then told me it would be $50 to diagnose it. I thought that was what they did. I gave them the money, then I was told $300 more for repair. I made the appointment, they reread codes again, and it was a different problem. But it would fix the first problem according to a bulletin. It was the same $300, but they charged $80 more for the part than GM online parts and somehow got the time to total 1.5 hr after a .5 credit for the first reading. And still, they had my vehicle in and out of the shop in 1 hr and 15 minutes. GM told me this is not within their control and when your warranty runs out, so does your luck and their responsibility for faulty builds.

The part which failed was not available at the Flagstaff dealership and was only available from the parts warehouse in Reno Nevada. 2. We offered several times to pay the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times. 3. GM’s inability to track the part from the GM parts warehouse in Reno and were not able to give us a clear delivery date. The part did not arrive until 13 days after it was ordered. Had we known the part would be in Flagstaff on a specific date we would have stayed in Flagstaff until the part arrived and the truck was fixed. As it was the dealership could not tell us when it would be there.4. This vehicle is under full warranty and only has 13890 kms.Here is a summary of events leading up to these excessive expenses. On March 17 this year, my wife and I were driving home back to Canada from Phoenix, Arizona. We were 20 miles south of Page, Arizona when the charger cooler tube on the turbo unit failed. We called AAA and had the truck and our trailer towed back to the nearest GM dealership, which was in Flagstaff.We met with the Service Advisor the next day, Wednesday March 18, and by 11 am the part was found at the GM parts depot in Reno Nevada and would be at the Flagstaff dealership 6 days later on Monday March 23. Because we were concerned the Canada/US border was closing, and with the excessive amount of time it was going to take to ship the part to the dealer, we offered several times to pay for the expense to expedited the shipping of the part to the Flagstaff dealership from the GM parts warehouse in Reno by air, FedEx, Purolator or DHL. The Flagstaff dealer and GM turned us down both times.Please note Reno is just over 700 miles (1132 kms) from Flagstaff. The parts did not arrive on Monday March 23. The Flagstaff dealership said the parts were somewhere between Reno and Flagstaff and that GM did not have the ability to track any parts. They said the parts may arrive Monday March 30. At this point we decided to rent a truck ($2000 US) and tow our trailer back to Canada. Again both the US and Canadian Governments were threatening to close the borders. We left Thursday morning March 26 after stopping by the dealership one last time to see if the parts had arrived. The part still had not arrived.The parts finally arrived Monday March 30, 13 days after the parts were ordered and the truck repaired Tuesday March 31. Because the border between Canada and US now remains closed, the only way I could get the truck back was to have it shipped back into Canada is by a commercial transport company. The Flagstaff dealership said GM might offer to pay for the transport of the truck between Flagstaff and Great Falls Montana. I offered to pay for the remaining transport between Great Falls and Calgary. Again GM declined.Also why is it that only Cadillacs quality for a free 800 mile/km tow while other GM vehicles don’t? My total bill to transport the truck from the Flagstaff dealership to Lethbridge Canada was $1350 US, ($1995 Can). Cole International’s charges for inter-border documents was $150 Can. So I have spent over $5000 Canadian on a part that maybe worth $100 all because GM didn’t have the required part at the dealership, could not track the part from their warehouse in Reno and give us a clear delivery date, and would not let us pay to have the part fast-tracked from the warehouse in Reno to the dealership in Flagstaff. I finally picked up my truck today May 11, 2020 from the Davis GMC dealership in Lethbridge. I haven’t heard back from GM Customer Service Canada since I sent in all of my expenses at the end of May and I don’t expect to hear back from them.

I talked to a GM ambassador about getting off-warranty work done this month. My 2005 GMC Canyon warranty was extended to 2013 or 160,000km because of valve problems. My vehicle had 108,946km on it when the check engine light came. A Tirecraft shop examined the truck and said I had burnt valves. I phoned the GM rep and was told to take it to a GM dealership to confirm that. The dealership charged me $368.98 to confirm what Tirecraft had diagnosed for only $221.66. The dealership said that they would only knock 5% off the $6000 repair bill. GM knows how much these repairs cost so the company rep should have been up front with me about what could be done before I took the truck in. I wasted my time as the repairs are more than my truck is worth. GM had no plans to help me even before I brought my truck in.

Does anyone else have this problem? I bought my 2012 GMC Terrain in Jan 2012. During my first week of owning it, we had some bad snow storms. The state uses a lot of salt to battle ice. When I opened the door, I had some difficulty opening it. When I did get it open, I noticed snow, slush, dirt, etc. at the rocker panel area where the inside bottom of my door meets the vehicle. I showed this twice to the dealership and they mainly stated they had never seen anything like it. Now this summer, the vehicle is leaking dust into the vehicle and builds up mud and dust at the rocker panel area. I took it back to the dealer and they put mud guards to see if they will help. I still see dust and dirt at the rocker panel. Otherwise, I like my Terrain. Please, if anyone is having this problem, I would like to know.

Now the warranty is up, tail light problems ($750) each. Now the info screen is black. Its just ridiculous a luxury vehicle at this price has this many issues.
