We bought a thermador 48 dual fuel oven 6 years ago. Every year we have had major problems and spent thousands repairing the oven to no avail. We have had the main board replaced twice, fan switches, heating elements, and a variety of other things. We have not been able to cook one holiday meal in the oven, we have had to resort to the BBQ and the toaster. It looks like this year is the same, code 43 is blinking which means I need to spend another 700$ on the oven. Thermador has been terrible to deal with, they really dont care. This time I am not spending the money to repair it. I am throwing this thing in the trash and getting a different brand. This is a terrible product made by a horrible company with third rate engineers and an insensitive work force. I can only hope that other good hardworking people dont spend their money on anything that comes from the thermador company.

$14k oven external temp gauge broke a few weeks after short warranty. After multiple phone calls the company agreed to fix it. They replaced the whole computer panel. However, this was NOT the problem and the temp gauge was still broken. They argued this was not the original issue I called in about (it was). I even have the pictures I took when I initially called them that highlighted the broken temp gauge. Now they want to charge me $500 for the repair. I absolutely hate them. Will go back to less expensive appliances in the future or companies that back their products and services. Thermador was a HUGE waste of money.

I purchased a whole kitchen of appliances in 2019. My pride purchase was a Thermador 36 inch gas 4 burner with a grill in the middle. 7149.99 stove alone. The meat probe from the oven was never used until that Thanksgiving when I was going to cook my first turkey with my Thermador stove probe kit. Seems simple right? Put the probe in the turkey, set it and wait for the probe to chirp. Right from the start it gave me a defective code with the probe in. It couldnt be used. Since the fall of 2019 until today Thermadors qualified service techs have been to the house 5 times and are unable to fix it. One and one half years later no resolution. They just decided that they would replace my stove. The replacement is the stove prg366wh which is 1000.00 dollars less. They refuse to reimburse even a fraction of the amount claiming Ive had the stove over a year, even though my call for service was less than 6 months after owning the stove. Ive declined, Im off to court. Somethings are a matter of principle. Bottom line, Thermador is no longer able to support their past reputation. One last thing I discovered during this problem. The parts are made in China, so how do they claim the quality when everything is being made for all at the same sweatshop. Stay away from Thermador. Worst purchase Ive made in 20 years.

I bought a Pro Series Thermador Dual Fuel 8 years ago. First off, I will say I love the simmer burners. The best feature. However, everything else sucks about this range. The oven is awful, with inconsistent temps. Ive spent $2000 on repairs (3) and Christmas morning after I put breakfast brunch in the oven, it quit working. Ive had it with this piece of junk. I am only thankful that I did not pay the full price of $5800 when I bought it. If you need a high end range, get a Wolf. I am not spending another $800 for another repair on this thing.

I own several Thermador appliances from our newly purchased renovated home. The self standing products such as fridge seems to work fine. But any appliances that are connected to external factors (kitchen hood, stove or dish washer) have all caused problems. To make the situation worse, they have the most unwilling to help customer service only next to the cable companies. It took me a total of 6 full months of calling them every week to finally have them send a real technician that told us what we all knew from the beginning - that our kitchen hood motor is bad. The first few that were sent out had told me that our internal motor is missing when the model itself never had internal motor, or said it was the electricians fault, which I had paid for different electrician only to find out that the wiring was normal and working. I found out that those technicians were fired after a few weeks and they werent able to send a good one until the next month.About warranty policy: I purchased a newly renovated home where no one had lived here before. The operators I spoke to for the first 5 months have consistently told me that I am covered under warranty since I moved to a newly renovated house. By the time the last technician told me finally that I need to get the motor replaced, I called the customer service again. This time the operator lady told me as soon as I mentioned that I need a replacement product as per the warranty, that suddenly I am no longer under warranty and I should pay for my own. She said that I am merely a new purchaser of the renovated home and I am not considered a legitimate warranty receiver. I wish I could retrieve the previous phone conversations I had with the company. When I demanded to speak with a higher manager she simply put me on hold. For a very, very long time. This is my experience with Thermador. If you thought paying for a large sum for this product will save you from customer service misery, think again. I have had better experience with GE and Samsung products.

I have a very expensive Thermador freezer. It with keeping proper temperature in October 2021. Contacted Thermador on 11/4/21. It takes a month or more to actually schedule an appointment and Ive had 4 service appointments since and its still not fixed. Its been over 5 months with no ability to even talk to a supervisor or get any positive action from the company. Its the worst customer service Ive ever experienced.

It’s a horrible oven and the worst customer service - poor controls, unreliable and poor response from customer service. The bottom line: no, I would not recommend this to a friend. This Thermador ME301E[S] wall oven is the bane of our lives. The interface panel had been replaced and still the oven did not work. The call to the Thermador supervisor took a week to get back to me. They would not take the $250.00 memory panel back even though that was not the cause of the self-clean operation as suggested by their authorized repair person. The oven would cease heating without notification on the display. Customer Service for Thermador is worse than anyone I have ever dealt with. The oven was serviced a number of times for other parts. Stay clear of their products, as they do not stand behind the appliance!

This 48 Range #PRD48JDGU has been giving me problems since I purchased it. At two months old the small oven went out. Then the control panel needed to be replaced. Then right front burner had to be replaced. Next Left front burner had to be replaced. Now the small oven fan wont turn off, and door will lock and unlock. I had to turn off entire unit. For fear that its going to cause a fire. Customer Service is a joke. They put you on hold forever. I really believed in this company. But I guess because they have been around 100 years. They really dont care about the customer. As long as they are getting paid.

I guess Im lucky. I havent had a disaster with our convection double oven. We bought ours, used about 6 years ago, from a house that was being gutted and remodeled. It was a 95 model and I was thrilled to be getting an updated, and convection oven. Now, Im nervous about keeping it and having something disastrous happen from all of these other posts. I was only trying to find a replacement knob and was frustrated at not being able to find one since they are no longer manufactured. Our oven was very difficult to install. My husband and father were able to cut the holes into the attic and vent it properly, but it has never cooked evenly, even using convection, and it always takes 30-45 minutes longer to cook anything like casseroles or meatloaf, anything denser.

Thermador appliances are for sure sleek beautiful appliances. My experience with delivery, product reliability, service and customer service is/was not so good. I have purchased a dishwasher, range, range hood, and refrigerator. Ive had these appliances for about 1 month. Delivery: Three dishwashers were delivered to my home as each was damaged.Reliability: The refrigerator just flat out stopped working within 3/4 weeks. Service in my area is hard to find in my area. The appliance service from the purchaser was supposed to be wonderful, however, not so much for Thermador. Its been almost 2 weeks now, no fridge and Thanksgiving is in 5 days. Very frustrated with no callbacks and having to chase service provider. Breakage: The range door, upon moving into place, simply came off. Im unsure the motive to have it work this way, please beware. I do wish that my experiences were better, they are beautiful, however having appliances that are ready to install when delivered and in working order is much more important. Good luck.

I recently purchased a Thermador double wall oven. Since I was replacing an existing Thermador double wall oven and needed the same size, I did not check the reviews. My mistake. The ovens do not properly heat, so I contacted the store where I purchased the ovens and they came and checked them out. According to Yale Electric where I purchased the ovens, I should not expect the ovens to be at temp when the ovens register that they are at temp. I was told to preheat for a half an hour before using. Even when I do this, the ovens do not properly heat. Second issue is with the door venting system. The vents are just above the window, and while you cook, splattering can seep into the space leaving you with streaks and food on the inside of the glass. There is no way to clean it. I would not recommend purchasing a Thermador and regret my decision to do so.

Use gas range daily, no problem. Rarely used oven, maybe 20 times the most before it stopped working. Replaced electronic module located between oven and range. How stupid! Used the oven less than 15 times within 3 years and it failed again. The last visit cost $700. After reading all the negative comments about Thermador, I am buying an electric oven and the hell with this piece of junk! Frustrating to spend 2 hours baking and the meatloaf was cooked only on the surface. That darn thing quit half way without warning!

I purchased this Thermador oven in Dec. 2005. On Thursday, Nov. 20th, my oven just stopped working. Wording in Red flashed across the panel F-24 Refer to Manual. My Thermador manual shows the reason for F-24/25 appearing means someone leaned against this panel for over sixty seconds. Ive never seen this before. We followed the directions to correct. Nothing happened. I called the Thermador Service ph#. Thermador sent a Technician Monday, Nov. 24th. This Thermador Technician said my manual is wrong, and the problem is the Cooling Fan broke. Then, Im informed it will be Dec. 11th, before this part is in. This is a part Thermador makes! I have a turkey in the fridge for Thanksgiving this week. I called Thermador today, and the person sounded she didnt want to speak to anyone. Very rude.

Thermador Professional GAS range with Non-functioning grill is NOT supported by Thermador, nor do local-Detroit, Michigan, professional appliance repair people know how to repair nor source parts for this range. Speaking with Thermador design engineers in Calif. does NOT provide a solution to: Grill VALVE not functioning, Thermador does not offer a replacement valve, they do not manufacture the valves anymore. This is a $10,000 range. Thermador has told me to scrap this 6 foot wide stainless steel, double oven, 6 burner range and purchase a new one versus simply offering to REPAIR this unit. Do NOT buy Thermador, go commercial.

Spent a lot of money on a built in ref/freezer from Thermador. Now that summer is here I have come to learn the ice maker only makes between 100-125 ice cubes/24hr. I find myself running to buy more ice as everyone wants ice in their summer drinks. This was never an issue with the Whirlpool freezer I basically wore out after 20 years. ALWAYS had plenty of ice as the maker would make ice when the lever was down signaling low ice. If I had known this I probably would have bought something else... cheaper worked well. I called customer service and they said that this was the feature and nothing more could be done.

Remodeled kitchen 3 yrs ago & installed all Thermador appliances. Even though the built-in refrigerator didnt work from the time they installed it they would not replace it until they tried to repair it! So we basically went without a refrigerator for 2 months because it was not repairable and had to order a new one! The microwave went out a month after the warranty expired. Thermador did agree to honor the warranty. Repairman had to order part which took 6 wks. I was out of town when he came to repair. My son was home. When I returned I noticed dark spots & small dents on the front. After trying to clean spots off with no luck, I asked my son if he saw him work on the microwave and if he was rough with it to cause the damage. My son said he brought another microwave in. I called Thermador. After giving the serial # I was informed the unit was a 2008 model. My oven was a 2011. They asked for pictures of damage which was sent. No one from Thermador came to look or call me about complaint. I get a call saying the claim was closed because from the pictures I sent they couldnt see the damage. I asked about the fact that I got a used 2008 damaged unit. They said it was brand new! I told them that was fine but I would be warning others! Finally the Thermador rep called & asked what I wanted. I said, My microwave back and fixed. They did replace it with a new one. However exactly a year later the clock has stopped working which is what quit before the entire unit quit. Soooo, 2 weeks ago our gas oven quit working! I told my husband I refuse to call any of Thermadors licensed repairman and to just rip it out & go buy a Kenmore!!! He got online and chatted with someone that told him what could be the problem & how to repair himself. Ordered the part and tore the oven apart & fixed it himself!

I purchased a french door refrigerator & paid over 6k for it. I have to call the one & only repair man (who is authorized to fix it) every year since Ive gotten it. It has not cost me over 10k for this refrigerator. The customer service is also horrible. The technician has to come in to diagnose the issue, order the part (which takes a week or so) then come back again to install. Usually a 3 week fix. How do you expect your customer to be without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks! The only authorized technician also dont want to come & fit it because he said it is just a huge hassle to fix. It has so many issues: ie. Ice maker had to be replaced twice at a cost of $500.00 for the parts, twice, the sensor panel went bad & totally froze the entire cooling unit. Now my freezer section does not freeze causing me to throw out hundreds of dollar of food! Dont buy it!

Been having trouble with my Thermador PRL304EG ever since I have had it since 2006. Main electronic board after board, repair man cant put the finger on the issue. Maybe if parts were not made in China... They could make better ranges. Oven stops heating, or decides what it wants to do. I got a lemon in Thermador, or did I?? Probably all then same little cheap ranges... wont put their pants on and just replace unit. Repair cost for a Thermador is like 600.00 to $1000 a year (at least 2 services a year). If you want my advice, stay away from Thermador, because they sure do! Run Thermador run. Range should be giving me repair codes, but never in 10 years did it give any codes, not even once.

My thermostat went out in my larger oven and I struggled to get it fixed as the self-cleaning feature was based on a mercury-based system and that was determined illegal prior to my range malfunction. So, no one initially wanted to help me in Customer Service. My original guy was super rude. My local contractor was frustrated as the parts sent were wrong two times.Ironically, after Mister rude customer service man and a follow up call by me, I got a lot of support from Thermador as I guess they do listen to the customer service calls. My contact at Thermador alleviated the cost of the new thermostat that was legal without mercury. Yes, I gave up my self-cleaning forever, a bummer. My local contractor came out several times to get it right. I wasnt the nicest about it as I was so frustrated to spend around $8000 for an appliance and hood and just 9 years in, they said it was obsolete and had no warranty. End of the day, in 2011, after the repair before Thanksgiving, it didnt get to temperature again. Turkey was ruined. The local service came and did one more fix after reconnecting with Thermador and discovered they sent the wrong repair information, final repair was in December 2011. Ever since then, cooking is going great. Knowing I could put in my turkey last Thursday and knowing it would be perfect, which it was, was awesome. I feel like I got my 75% of original purchase back(!) less the self-cleaning. Thanks for monitoring mean customer service reps and being pro active! Please forward this to my local repair company. I think it was All-Service in Bellevue. Thanks.

I purchased a $6250 (current retail price) 30 inch freezer column in 2009 when we built our home. 18 months after installation, the ice maker ceased working. No warranty. The freezer failed to cool 6 weeks ago. The part necessary to rectify the problem was also not covered -- just like the ice maker. We opted not to replace the ice maker, which would have resulted in a $700 charge and we paid approximately $350 to repair the current issue. It is unacceptable, and really borders on criminal, to incur these types of failures on a unit this new at a high end price point. I have an old GE fridge/freezer in the garage that was only several hundred dollars that is still working after 25 years. Shame on Thermador. I have several other Thermador appliances that are suboptimal. The Bosch washer died last Christmas after six service calls. Dont purchase Thermador or Bosch. You will be sorry!

We just replaced a 15 year old Thermador Professional gas range and oven with a new 36” Thermador Professional 366 range and oven. About $10,000 invested with installation. Most disappointed on delivery to find new oven door quite dirty in between the glass windows. Also oven temperature about 60-70 degrees hotter than the dial setting. The worst, however, is that a new oven rack that was soaked in water for about 6-7 hours to remove some baked on cheese has started to rust. Obviously there is no quality control at factory and cheap materials are used for components. We have had two Wolf range/ovens and have been most happy with them. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a top of line range/oven forget about the Thermador line.

I have had a very disappointing experience with Thermador and apart from keeping an induction cooktop since my granite was already cut! I returned all of my other Thermador items. The dishwasher (included in a buy +2 appliance package) independently measured as high as 70dBA vs. the advertised 48dBA. The 30 micro/oven wall combination came (twice) with a misaligned oven door. It was confirmed to me, after the fact, by a Thermador customer service person that Thermador is actually shipping ovens with a known defect that supposedly has an easy fix of replacement hinges. The issue is that NO ONE seems to know this! Not the Tech nor the appliance store. So +7 hours and 3 technician visits later (with minimum of 2 weeks between visits as I as told there are ONLY 2 techs that service the entire Austin, TX metro area). I am done with Thermador. I live in fear that should I have ever have a maintenance issue with the induction cooktop I have a 50% chance of getting the technician that was rude, condescending to me, my contractor, my designer and carpenter. So let me get this straight -- THERMADOR, you want me to pay top $$$ for your appliances. Chances are they may arrive defective. No one will know how to fix them (who wants a new $5000 appliance to need to be fixed anyway?) and on yeah, have to wait +2 weeks for a technician to come into my home and insult me. It doesnt get any worse than that. Thermador if you are reading this - shame on you!!! Perhaps you need to take a page from the KitchenAid playbook on how to treat your customers that are spending a ton of money on your over-hyped products.

I am the not so proud owner of a Thermador 302 series double wall oven with a malfunctioning right side door hinge and hinge receiver. Thermador no longer manufactures the parts and refused to assist me in locating them. The parts are difficult to find because the same parts are made for different companies using different part numbers and they are not returnable, so if you buy the wrong part youre stuck with it. In my case, the parts amount to about $400 (for stamped metal pieces) and Im neither willing nor able to take that risk. The oven is only 10 years old, which according to Thermadors customer support (or lack thereof) is beyond its life expectancy, and absolves them of any responsibility to support their product. They dont even have a technical support department, who could have told me not to bother spending $100 on a service call because the parts are no longer available. So there you have it folks, if you want a $2,000.00 metal planter, then go with Thermador. Otherwise STAY AWAY! DO NOT BUY THERMADOR PRODUCTS, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!

If youre in the market you wont go wrong with this one.

Almost immediately after buying our Thermador double wall oven, the top unit stopped working. We insisted on replacement rather than repair. A year later, again the top unit stopped working. It would not hold the temperature. Eventually we replaced the motherboard--very costly. Within a year, BOTH units stopped working. Sometimes a unit will heat but not hold the heat. Sometimes it will not heat at all.

Just read about the experience of another consumer of thermador oven appliance. I had the same experience about 6 years ago with my relatively new thermador wall oven (MEDES/01). During a cleaning cycle, the bottom oven glass completely shattered. Could have been dangerous if I had been nearby. Shame on Thermador for not fixing this problem! Otherwise the oven has been good, even if a bit confusing at times to use due to the electronic panel (which also had to be replaced early on). Now after about 6 years, the lower oven heating element has stopped working, so I have called a local repair company. No problems with my Thermador warming oven! I love it!

36 inch dual fuel range & dish washer - We have had our Thermador for two years and the oven has been out of service for four months to date and its out again! When we first tried to clean the oven, the heat burned up the circuit board. But that was not the first thing they tried and every part they need they have to order after a home visit, so the process took almost two months to resolve the first time. No oven for Thanksgiving and almost no oven for Christmas. Next time we cleaned the oven, poof, its broken again. Now, the warranty is out of date but it is the same problem! Now we fight through another battle. The oven was again eventually fixed and survived several cleanings but once again the oven is kaput after an attempt to use the cleaning cycle. There is also the story about the issues with the Thermador dishwasher sometimes running and sometimes not. Less painful than the oven but not what you would expect from new top of the line appliances. Never buy a Thermador appliance! I am sure you will do much better with any other manufacturer.

I purchased the Thermador wall built-in ovens (SCD3022P) in 2003 and I am replacing the oven control panels for the 2nd time. The oven digital read out is gone for both ovens. First replacement was just after a year, after putting up a fuss managed to get it replaced under warranty. Now the 2nd unit ($333 + tax & installation) has faded out a second time and Thermador is unresponsive. We certainly did not expect this from a Thermador product. Based on this experience and Thermadors unresponsiveness I would not recommend the Thermador product.

We purchased a Thermador triple oven combination (model #semw302) in 2007 when we built our home. Over the past 9 years weve had to have multiple repairs on the main oven. The door hinges have been replaced twice, the circuit board replaced once, the self cleaning function stopped working twice. Actually only worked for one self cleaning. Each time. Now we once again have to replace both the circuit board and the relay board on the oven. Great. After paying a service man $80 yesterday, we were told that Thermador has discontinued the circuit board that we need and it also needs to have the relay board replaced. Which I believe is somewhere around $225.It was suggested we try to find someone to rebuild our circuit board. Even after spending some considerable time searching the internet, I havent found anyone who can rebuild this particular circuit board. and this would probably cost over $200. Plus installation. I already have spent close to $1000 on repairs. The microwave and the warming drawer are both fine. Now it looks like we will have to throw out the whole triple combination unit since its one piece. We will NOT be looking to replace it with another Thermador. This may be the worst purchase weve ever made in 50 years of marriage. JUNK!

This oven has malfunctioned since the day it was installed. It doesn’t heat to the right temperature, it doesn’t maintain the right temperature and nothing ever cooks inside. When using the top oven simultaneously with the bottom oven, the bottom oven automatically cools down. It was finally replaced with a new one and the new one does the same thing. I am going to take the $8,500 loss, and buy a new oven. Also, I would steer clear of Thermador refrigerators as well. They are very poorly designed!

When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances
When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances - 2 ovens, an induction stovetop, and a dishwasher. I called for repairs on the ovens right away. They did not cook to temperature. Sometimes it takes me twice as long to cook a recipe. When making cookies and the recipe say 12 minutes, I set the trimmer for 16. When the repair man got there he told me that I needed to learn to cook again and that the times on recipes were not right. I told him that if an oven cooked to temp, then if they say it is done in 30 minutes, then it should be. I was told that, This is the way German engineers wanted it. I guess they do not want their appliance to work accurately. So we called the factory show room in Burlingame and attended their cooking class. I kept asking them about my problem with the ovens not being on temp. There I was told that I needed to look up on a chart the weight of our food and what type of food it is to determine the cooking time and temp. I was told to never just turn the oven on but to always use the fast preheating setting. This is hog-wash. To this day my ovens do not cook to temp and baking anything is a gamble. I have been very disappointed with my Thermador ovens.

I too have had a most unsatisfactory experience with my double wall ovens from Thermador. I am now on my 4th replacement heating coil. The electronic control panel went out in year 2 and Thermador advised me that I would have to replace the entire electronic motherboard. The temperature does not stay on consistently throughout the baking process. Their customer service is non-existent. I am so disappointed in the lack of quality in this expensive product. I will never buy another Thermador product and I want to warn anyone out there to stay away. I would rate my experience as no or negative stars.

Their customer service personnel are awful and will say anything to the customer and make false statements to the customers. I will never buy this product again. I also plan to call, email, etc. and tell everyone I come in contact with not to buy this product.I purchased a glass ceramic stove top that stopped working after three weeks. They claimed it had been repaired; however, they kept the stove top for about six months. I have used this stove top for only two years. The entire stove top stopped working, and Thermador told me it was my problem and I would need to have the stove top repaired. We bought a Thermador double wall oven 5 years ago among many other appliances when redoing our kitchen and almost every time we use the self-clean feature, it goes into error mode and breaks the control board, the motor, or something else. We have had multiple repairmen out, including Thermador themselves, and each time it costs between $250-$350 dollars to service. I tried speaking to upper management from Thermador several times and they basically ignored my issue and told me it was too bad and they would not replace the unit. It has never been misused, and is treated with kid gloves and kept very clean. I would NEVER EVER buy Thermador ovens and watch out for their terrible customer service.

I purchased the side by side fridge and freezer in 2011. The ice maker immediately stopped working so it was replaced. The new ice maker would then jam up and cause me to take the drawer out and manually break up the ice. Ive spent over $500 in repair costs to try to get this fixed and nobody has an answer. Now, 8 years after I bought it, I still have to pull the drawer out and manually break up the ice every couple of days. Thats hundreds of times now since I bought it. I get more annoyed each time I have to do it as you could imagine. Ive contacted Thermador support multiple times on this matter. Each time they deny my request for action on their end. Ive spent well over $25k on Thermador appliances. ILL NEVER GIVE ANOTHER DOLLAR TO THIS COMPANY. Highly overrated and overpriced. Good riddance.

My very expensive Thermador wall oven has been giving me an F-34 error code. When going online, I see we are one of many consumers experiencing the poor quality of this companys product. As frustrating as it is to need to call out a repairman, even more frustrating is that with so many of us having the issue, the parts are no longer available (or were ever available?) to fix the error. I expect a couple hundred dollar oven to be considered disposable but when you spend several thousand on what is suppose to be commercial quality, you dont expect to have to replace them in a few short years.

I contacted Setzers (who I bought the equipment from here in Jacksonville FL) who contacted the repair center. This was in Mid February, and after several emails and calls it is now Mid May and still nothing! I also call Thermador who really didnt seem to care that their equipment is falling apart. I spent over $20,000 on Thermador Equipment, you would think they would have been somewhat concerned! Im still working on getting these handles put on but I would not recommend getting Thermador. Thermador PRL366EG Pro Range - This was supposed to be my dream range. Saved forever to buy it. Replaced a GE stove, which we donated to the fire department, with this piece of junk! The FD is still using the GE and Ive had two burners repaired and Im on my 4th oven repair in 6 years. Same problem on the oven; cant seem to get it fixed. The oven heats up but doesnt maintain temperature. Bake a pie at 450 for 15 minutes then reduce the temperature to 350 to finish the baking and the oven turns itself off, though the indicator light says heating. The technician cant seem to replicate the problem. If I turn the oven off, wait five minutes and then turn it back on the oven will come back up to the correct temp. One suggestion made by the service dept was to just turn the oven off and wait and then turn it back on every time I needed to reduce the temp in a recipe. Really? I tried to stay calm and explain why that was not possible and why I should not have to do that with a range that cost me $6000!!! So parts have been ordered (again) but there is no guarantee that this will be the fix. And a phone call to Thermador did no good, either. Keeping my fingers crossed that these parts are the cure since my technician is working diligently to resolve this for me.Would never, ever buy nor recommend a Thermador again. It would be great if when someone does find a fix to a noted problem, they could post the solution. Might help others.

We are now two months without a working freezer. I cannot stress enough how bad our experience has been. My wife is on the phone nearly everyday with customer service reps, but nothing gets done. They have sent the same incompetent repair people four times to no avail. They cancel appointments and reschedule without informing us. The corporate headquarters are in Germany, so there is no one else to talk to. At the same time, they have wanted to charge us $1,500 in labor costs. Can you imagine paying $1,500 for a job not done? I might add we have seven Thermador appliances in our kitchen! I would not recommend Thermador to anyone.Updated on 08/01/2016: We have now entered our fourth month without a freezer. It is very clear to us that Thermadors game plan is to frustrate the customer so that he/she will eventually give up. To recapsulate: we had repairmen out four or five times unable to fix the problem. On four occasions, the company cancelled the appointment without informing us and we had to reschedule. This caused additional delays. Without exaggerating, I would say my wife has been on the phone with customer service more than 30 times. Now they have offered us a new freezer at a discount, but will not provide any kind of installation or delivery into the house; nor will they remove the old, non-working freezer. The installers they recommend refuse to remove the old unit for insurance reasons. They also refuse to bring the new unit into the house from the curb. So here we are: it will cost us nearly the price of the freezer to have the new one installed if we could find someone to do it.My wife is in tears with frustration and anger. We have not been able to speak with anyone outside of customer service. It is a German company with apparently no executives here. I want to restate that our unit remains under warranty. I cant think of a worse example of customer service in my 55 years. Next step: New York State attorney general.

ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream
ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream of my wifes, which now has turned out to be her worst NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! We had it installed in our remodeled kitchen. Looks really nice, but for the most part so does a bookend. The range part works well but the oven is a joke. The only thing it cooks good is our bank account...! The wonderful people at Thermador thought they had better way to light a oven, putting a delay of so many seconds on the gas valve, before it lights... Thus filling your oven full of gas and when it lights, which you have a 50/50 chance that it might, the door on the oven jumps out a bit as it is now lit... For how long it stays going is a crapshoot. If you are cooking a roast that will take over a hour, forget it. It wont relight to keep at temp. But the fun part of it is the temp on the dial shows whatever the temp you set it at! Open the oven and its around 100 degrees. NICE! It is what it is and thats JUNK!We had a company who was great repairing the Wonderful PRO-Grand, new name should be PRO Crap, but anyway the repairman found a missing part in the oven. Called the Company and got the repair tech on the phone, who stated, We do not sell that Part... Now three weeks later the repair company going to bat for me, got the people at Thermador to send us the part. Which in fact they forgot to install at the so-called Factory! Wonderful the problem fixed right?????? NOPE! Installed that part and the oven is still doing the same thing...! Anyway not wanting to see the Nice repairman again for awhile we started using the barbecue as our new oven!Works great keeps the temp right and it only cost $300.00. Pro Grand $6000.00 Plus.... Is there something wrong with this picture????? Now we are getting close to the end of this Saga.....! Bit the bullet and called the Nice Repairman. Was like old home week for the first three minutes, but he got the Pro Grand apart could not figure it out and call the Factory Tech. His name is Mr. Confused. Was told what was happening and he could not figure it out either.....! So the Nice Repairman asked, Why do we need this delay on the gas and light it like the broiler lights? which is right now... Doesnt figure does it.....! DA. Okay, now one great-minded repairman and one confused Factory Tech tells the Nice Repairman, You mean like the Older Pro Grands? Yes, the OLD ONE!!!!!!! Yes!!!! Factory Tech the Old tried and true Lights every time system. Okay, the Confused Factory Tech says... Now we wait!!!!!!! Nice repairman leaves to find out what he needs as far as parts and if he really is right... Yes he was!!!!! Mr. Nice Repairman got all the new stuff ordered and now I have to Open my wallet again to pay the Nice Repair Company...! The cost of this repair was Only $475.80 thus bring up the total cost of repairs to $1065.71 Pro Grands final repair total. Dont waste your time with Thermador thinking they will stand behind the product. The Fact is they wont....! For those of you who dont know this Thermador is owned by Bosch...... !

Once you turn the oven to a certain temperature you cannot adjust it, no turning down that pie thats been in for 15 minutes. You have to turn the oven off and let it cool down. We purchased our Thermador gas range and oven when we remodeled our kitchen in 2005. We purchased a 48 professional range because I cook and bake a lot and have a lot of family to accommodate. This Thanksgiving my oven would heat but not hold a temperature. We had a repair tech come out and it is the thermometer. It shuts off the heating element when it reaches the desired temp. This part is discontinued by Bosch/Thermador rendering our perfectly good oven useless. The one part has made this oven and range obsolete. The companys customer service rep was awful and basically had nothing to say but that we should get a new one. I will NEVER buy a Thermador, Gagganau or Bosch product again. My brand new $4000 Thermador double oven does not operate; I must flip my homes electrical breaker to turn it off; and I have waited 20 days to have it repaired or replaced. It is noon on December 23, 2016 and both the Thermador customer service line and the Bosch Home offices are closed. The product does not function; the repair person they sent was not helpful and wants me to wait until January 3, 2017 for a repair, and I cannot talk to anyone but an after hours messaging center about my non-functioning oven a day before Christmas. On December 3, 2016, my family tried to use its new Thermador double oven (Model ME302JS/04) and received an error code (118). We called to the customer service line for help and they failed to send a technician. We called again, but could not get a technician until December 23. When the technician came, he did not have the necessary parts - despite contacting the company weeks earlier and giving them the exact error code for the problem. The next available repair slot is January 3, 2017. The product does not fulfill the warranty of merchantability, fitness, or any general warranties; the customer service is ineffective; and the Bosch-employed repair organization is slow, unprepared, disorganized, and unhelpful. We recently bought a Thermador cooktop that comes with a downdraft exhaust. This was around the end of June 2017. The Range fit in fine, however the exhaust piece was broken and did not work, so they said they would order a replacement for us. We waited for the next piece for more than two months to come in. After which the company would give excuse after excuse about the piece not coming in or the installer not being available. After which the installer finally came, early October. And again the piece was faulty and did not fit nor did it work. Now after talking to customer service multiple times, they keep giving excuses and apologies, telling us to wait a few weeks for the installer to come out. In addition, have not tried to remedy the service by offering us any prompt service and refuse to offer any alternative cooktop/range set. The set cost $2000+ and we have been without the exhaust for three months now.

This is to set up a repairman to come out. This site claims they are open to take callers 24/7. I have heard a recorded message that has said, Thank you for calling, a customer service person will be with you shortly. I have heard this message 178 times as of this minute. Based on our experience, changing the one-year warranty to five years would be the only way we would recommend Thermador. You will read in my post what was under the one-year warranty, which is not sufficient. We purchased a refrigerator, stove and vent hood, dishwasher, under the counter double drawer refrigerator, and double drawer refrigerator top/freezer bottom, all purchased between 2017 - 2019. The vent hood motor, installed in 2017, has been replaced twice—one under warranty and one we just bought last week (11/2020) for $400++. The refrigerator replacement parts are drawer rollers, freezer drawer latch (not warrantied), and icemaker sensor was replaced under warranty. The double drawer refrigerator/freezer ice maker was not working when delivered in September of 2019, replaced under warranty. Currently, the dishwasher has a high pitch sound when you start it and only runs on the auto setting. All other wash settings do not run. Due to COVID, income loss, and out of warranty, we havent addressed this issue. Vent hood labels have all worn off, and if liquid splatters on the stovetop while cooking, mostly burn on the surface. Yes, a removable cover would be great, as mentioned in another post. How about one for the oven? Remember, all issues happen between 2017 and 2020; three years!

Bought a new Thermador refrigerator from Ferguson’s in May 2014. This being Hawaii, had to wait for delivery. You learn patience in Hawaii, so I was ok with that. But I had to pay full price plus shipping upfront. Not too happy about that. Finally got the refrigerator installed in July 2014. Loved it. Didnt care that it was $10,000, since it worked great and ease of use. Icemaker was efficient and made plentiful ice. Then, in late October, the icemaker just stopped working. Only one repair shop would come to our side of the island (20 min drive). I had to wait a month for the appointment. Still, I have learned patience, so I waited. Repairman was great. He found that there was a factory defect - a short in the electrical wiring inside the wall of the freezer unit. Cant be repaired, so he called Thermador and told them (actually he insisted) that they needed to replace the refrigerator. He told me they would be contacting me. I wait another month. Today I get a call from Thermador (message on my phone) that they cannot replace the refrigerator, as they cannot be expected to ship it to Hawaii. WHAT?? They will give a credit for the unit to Ferguson’s. Excuse me? I paid for the refrigerator, I called for the repair. This does not bode well. Is this just another way of forcing me to pay for shipping and installation again? I dont really want to deal with Ferguson’s again, as once the sale is made, its like a personality change on the salesmen. This credit thing should be interesting..... I know Im screwed. Ah well, the refrigerator still works, as does the freezer. I just buy bags of ice at the grocery and dump them in the ice bin. A previous complainant mentioned a class action lawsuit. Im in. I anticipate a major run-around on this. Customer service is terrible and they dont back up their product. And everyone on this website paid a lot more than was needed for the appliance that has failed them.

Got a lemon. Simple as that. Brand new $6,500.00 stove not functioning properly, on broil or bake, intense amount of heat and smoke coming from stove after it is heated. I do have a good vent system and must have it on, otherwise I would have the alarm go off for all the smoke that builds up and seeps out of oven. After 2 technicians I am told the blower element needs to be replaced. Brand new stove and parts need to be replaced??? Unacceptable!!! Newly installed and after a few uses with manufacturing defects it should not be considered safe to use. Thermador is only willing to replace parts and not replace.

Two and a half months ago my CIT365DS induction cook-top displayed an F0 error code. Two burners are out. I repeatedly called tech support and they couldnt find an authorized repair tech in my area. After 2 months I finally got a call from South Carolina telling me that I am on my own in finding someone to service my cook-top. I have the name of the Thermador service technician in Huntington Beach, Ca who for three weeks failed to call the one person left who is qualified to repair this thing. I even spoke with this Thermador technician last week and he assured me that he would call the service company in Port Angeles and arrange a service call. He failed miserably in making that call. I have never run across a company that holds customer satisfaction in such little regard. Yes, I am angry.

To make this short, we have had 8 repair visits. The electronic display boards had to be replaced 4 times, the heating elements two times each oven, wire terminals to the elements, and broken door hinges on one oven. When we last experienced having the oven fail to heat, there were no replacement parts (in December), and then the 2nd oven stopped heating just last week (Jan). I have called and written but no one at Thermador at BSH Home Appliances, 1901 Main St. #608, Irvine, Ca. will respond nor have they ever cared. This is the only address I have been able to find to lodge a complaint. All of these visits amounted to more than $1000. Thermador products are junk.

Built a new home 5 years ago and paid the price to install Thermador major appliances. The oven failed twice during warranty and was out of service about 10% of the first year of operation. Most recently the main circuit board in the refrigerator failed. The fridge is 5 years old and Thermador doesnt make or keep any spare parts. My options are to try to find someone who can rebuild the board or buy a new refrigerator. We are trying to get the board repaired by a free lance computer jock. Well see how that goes. Dont buy Thermador.

We are really impressed with our new dishwasher! It is well designed in many ways. Our old DW had a small third top rack, like this one, but the rack in the old one was too shallow to hold things like our frying pan spatula and was fairly useless. This rack holds those utensils nicely and has a super silverware holder built in, so we removed the silverware holder from the lower rack, which makes more room in the lowest rack. Which brings me to another impressive feature. This dishwasher holds a LOT of dishes! The slots are very close together, which made me wonder if there was enough room for the dishes to get clean, but it does a great job of cleaning, even though I follow their recommendation and do NOT rinse my dishes. If you worry about odors like I did, when you shut the door, it REALLY closes tight, so the dirty dishes do not smell up the kitchen. As a final note, the cycle is quick, and the default energy-saving drying works so well that even the bottoms of my coffee mugs, which always used to have a small amount of water that I had to dry by hand , come out completely dry.

I don’t think I have ever written a review until now. I am just heartbroken. We spent $30k on a Thermador appliance package two years ago and have had so many issues! I am an avid cook and baker and also teach cooking classes in my home kitchen. I was so excited to install these gorgeous appliances into my kitchen even though it was a huge sacrifice for our budget. We bought the 4 burner with electric griddle cooktop, the built-in fridge and freezer, the double ovens, dishwasher and range hood. Our kitchen is gorgeous but that’s where the excitement stops. We have had multiple repairman to our house to try and fix our appliances with no results. Our burners on the cooktop don’t get very hot so it takes over 20 minutes to boil a pot of water. I can not can or even sear meat on on my stovetop which is a huge letdown. I have had two repairman and the gas company all out to look at it and they are perplexed and say there is nothing wrong with the installation or the gas line, that’s just how the stove cooks. Meanwhile our crazy expensive freezer has stopped producing ice and water and is leaking from somewhere and completely ruining our hardwood floors we installed during our remodel. They are built-in so you can’t just pull them out and find the problem, you have to wait for a professional. I live near a big city and there are only 2 repair places in our area. We have been waiting for over a month and the problem is still not fixed. The part is on backorder so meanwhile, our floor continues to warp and is now sleeping into our cabinetry. I just want to cry. I had such high expectations for these beautiful appliances and to say we have been “let down” is a complete understatement. Please spare yourself the frustration and disappointment and look elsewhere for your professional appliances.

Dont buy Thermador ranges. A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND A LOT OF IT. Weve had the ProGrand garbage for 1 year. Excluding previous problems, the most recent is the oven lights no longer function. Called Thermador for assistance. They stated that while still under warranty, the oven bulbs (2 of them) are a routine consumer maintenance issue and a tech would not be assigned. So, I spent $40 for a bulb. Despite I specified that no lights function in the oven, Thermador sent me only 1 light. With much difficulty, I replaced the defective bulb in the lower right of the oven. Powered the oven back up, AND NOTHING. Removed the new bulb and placed it into the upper left socket. After powering back up, AND NOTHING.Frankly, Ive never had to replace an oven bulb in a 10 year old oven, you know, the far cheaper commonly found brand names of Kenmore, Amana, Frigidaire or other LOW END ovens. But for $10,000 you can buy a Pro Grand and have all kinds of fun calling for support, technicians, and an oven that is pure, bonafide garbage. Get this, in preheating mode, the oven will on occasion never reach set point. Rebooting the power supply seems to help. The racks are a dream too. They are extremely difficult to interchange to a new height setting. And they DONT CARE.On a prior occasion speaking with Thermador support, I asked if I could convey my dissatisfaction with their quality group. Specifically, they have some serious quality control issues. I was told that was not possible. This oven, and the lack of Thermadors concern is all the reason a consumer needs to know that this product is garbage and very expensive at that, relatively to conventional offerings. STAY AWAY, DONT BUY A THERMADOR OVEN.

Double oven purchased in 2007 (ME302ES/01). The cooling fan caused an error code E118. Thermador has no one in my area to fix it. They will not give me the information to correctly diagnose the issue. I paid a lot of money for this bucket and the Thermador National Parts Center (877-731-8081) marks up the price of the part to above retail. When confronted the sales person said, ** you, and hung up. I think Ill yank it out and you fill in the blank with your colorful mete-fore. I ordered a cooling fan from Bosh (800-944-2904) for $116.00 and will change it out once. Im thinking about a class action law suit if nothing is done.

We did a home remodel in 2005. I spent approximately $11,000 on my fancy Thermador range (I know, crazy, right?). Anyway, this was supposed to be my once in a lifetime dream kitchen. This range cost more than my first 3 cars put together! Long story short, in 7 years the oven has gone out 3 times and 2 burners once. The cost for these repairs? Over $3,000! The company has exactly zero interaction with customers once theyve purchased, and absolutely zero accountability. I could cry knowing how much money I have wasted on this thing. I cant afford another stove. Can you imagine throwing out a range you have $14k invested in? We had a 4 hundred dollar oven that lasted the first 14 years of our marriage. We then sold it for $200! Thermador is the worst company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. They do not care about or stand behind anything they sell.

Thermador said I needed a 2nd opinion and gave me 2 services to call. 1 did not even service Thermador and the other did not service my area. They have no one else to call so deemed my freezer unrepairable and offered me a $1000 discount on a new one. It is just over 5 years old and they have no one to fix it so they want to charge me for a new one?I emailed the regional manager for the NE and that has gone nowhere. 3+ months and no freezer, no support, no repair service, and they want $2100 to replace what they cant service. If the luxury items they sell are not going to last, then they should at least have repair service to support their poorly manufactured products.

We remodeled our home of twenty-plus years and bought a 30 Thermador Pro Harmony gas range. One of the first times we used the oven we accidentally spilled some liquid on the front of it with the oven door open - it shorted out a circuit board that should have been protected. This was fixed very quickly under warranty and had no further problems with it.Sold that house and bought another that needed a whole new kitchen. Bought a 36 Thermador Pro Harmony range and love it, no problems at all so far 1.5 years later. Along with that got the free dishwasher, Thermador though its made by Bosch, works beautifully, quiet. Also have the 36 Thermador French Door, bottom freezer refrigerator with NO in-door water or ice to keep things simple. Its gorgeous, with brilliant LED lighting and lots of storage. With it came the free range hood that is strong and has good lighting, easy to clean grease filters. To finish things off we purchased the Thermador drawer microwave which we were a little leery of, but have grown to love it. No more awkward reaching into a wall-mounted unit, we pluck everything out of the drawer! No turn-table but do not miss it.The 36 range has very flush grates making it easy to move pots around. The burners are very strong with great low simmer capabilities. The oven works well with roller bearing glides on the racks making them a breeze to pull in and out, even with the Thanksgiving turkey. Would definitely recommend Thermador to anyone, given our experience.

My Thermador double oven is not working after three visits and several repairs from an appliance company this past week. The temperature reaches 250 and then it turns off. The broilers do not ignite; the griddle does not work and et cetera. We moved into our home in 2007. Previous owner had just redone kitchen, went high end on appliances not knowing they were going to have job transfer. Recently Thermador downdraft fan stopped working properly. Figured it was out of warranty by now, I took a look to see if it was a switch I could replace - discovered it had a circuit board. I was shocked to see that the circuit board had started to melt along with the wires leading to it. I called Thermador, said I knew it must be out of warranty by now - but it seemed like a defect in manufacturing or design flaw and a fire hazard. After many calls, Thermador reluctantly agreed to send someone at their expense to diagnose. The technician informed me it happens all the time.I maintain for the amount of money spent on this type of product one should expect it to last longer than five or six years, and of all the appliances I have ever owned, it is the only one that has ever had a part that melted and posed a fire hazard. Thermador refuses to make good - it is out of warranty and it is normal wear and tear. I recorded my last conversation with Thermador. The audio, as well as pictures of the melted circuit board and wires and a video of it sparking and smoking can be found on you tube under the user **. I now have a stove in the middle of the kitchen with no ventilation. I want others - who own one of these or are contemplating the purchase of one - to understand the risk and I would like the Thermador to remedy the situation. I have not yet explored whether I am limited to a Thermador brand based on the dimensions of the hole in the granite countertop.

I purchased a suite of Thermador appliances for my kitchen 6 years ago. You get a better deal when you buy an entire brand. Even though I knew every brand has its strengths and weaknesses I gave into the salesman’s pressure and the better pricing. Never again! A rookie mistake. The only appliance from Thermador that has performed well is the dishwasher. The ovens take forever to get to preheat and even when the alarm sounds that it has reached temperature it’s not even close to the set temp. I had to buy a thermometer to put inside the oven to gauge when it was truly at the desired temp. The fridge door has never closed properly and it leaks on my wood floor. After install Thermador customer service said my concerns were “customer preference” and nothing faulty with the fridge or freezer. The ice maker makes weird ice and it takes forever. Now the entire freezer quit freezing and the repairman suggested I replace it with a Sub Zero. I paid $8k for this fridge/freezer and my less expensive built in was twice the appliance of this one. Word to the wise....don’t buy a suite. Buy each appliance in the brand that they are known for and have strong reviews. If misery loves company I am not lonely on the topic of Thermador! Never again.

I spent THOUSANDS on what Id expect to be high end appliances which included a column fridge/freezer/wine cooler, ovens, range and range hood. From day one when the installer came to install, parts were missing, for the freezer, the range hood had parts that were not correctly fabricated, the fridge had broken trays as well as a faulty motor which operates the push door for opening and closing. Contacted CS to explain and have them resolve. They sent a Tech out to verify the issues. He said the parts would to be ordered. This was in May and now we are in June and I still do not have these resolved. In my first follow up call, I was told the parts had arrived and I should be receiving a call from the Tech to schedule an appointment. A week late, no call so I called CS again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was told the part never came and he didnt know why I was told it had. He then proceeded to tell me the part is still on order and it may take another few weeks. In the meantime, one of the parts (fridge tray) had been in the Techs possession way back in June. I proceeded to ask if the Tech could come and install the tray but was told that it would cost Thermador an unnecessary expense and they would send the Tech out once the other parts are received. He made no attempts to accommodate nor had sympathy.Considering all the crap that I have experienced, and patiently, I expected far more service and accommodation than was given. I purchased high-end appliances at a high cost expecting top-rated service, but it has not been anywhere near that. Its one thing to have bad products but to have horrific service too!!! From the reviews Ive read on this site, it appears Im not alone.

Thermador Serviceman said he had never been trained on the stove and didn’t know what to do. Both times it was the main module that went. First repair was over $600 and this repair would have been Over $1400. Thermador Professional Pro-Guard Model PRL486EDG/02 - After reading many of the reviews on this website, it is fitting that we share our negative experience as well. Many of the issues posted by other owners are the same we have experienced - small oven explosion, XLO burners not working, replacement of both oven controls and most recently, ovens not operating. The stove is 5 years old and was purchased new. The first issues began shortly after moving in to our new home. The local authorized service representative really didnt know much about the equipment. We have since found a local repair rep who has tried to repair each issue and has gotten timely tech support but for the most part, it has been to replace a part. Currently, every feature is working; however, we do not recommend buying a Thermador product due to lack of meaningful warranty, customer support, and the cost of ownership. We will replace it rather than invest any more money in life support. Had we discovered this forum before we purchased the stove, we would have chosen another manufacturer.

Guy came to fix our oven and was beyond insulting to me. I requested a second guy, who fixed the first problem but then did something that incapacitated 3 out of 6 of our burners, which had worked perfectly when he walked in the door. He told me it would be another $1000 to fix the burners. Really? In the last house we rented, we had a Thermador microwave which did nothing but turn food into a slimy mess. Seven years ago we remodeled our kitchen. Sadly the only location we had for a refrigerator was a wide, but shallow space. Our appliance contractor recommended this Thermador refrigerator Model # KBUDT4875E01, which cost over $14K! Recently the evaporator coil began leaking. We called the Thermador service department who referred us to a local repair company (Alltex Parker) in the DFW area. The service man told us our refrigerator was old, although is has a 12 year warranty. The good news is the $300.00 for parts was covered by our warranty. The bad news is the service call costs us $1500.00 for 4 hours to replace the coil! The service man informed us he sees many issues with Thermador appliances and it is not uncommon for these refrigerator coils to leak. He said he would be surprised if our refrigerator lasted the length of our warranty. This experience has taught me to do more appliance research upfront and to rely on customer reviews!

After purchasing our Thermador Range, Model # PRD366GHU in 2011, the oven has stopped working on multiple occasions. Only to finally find out, from the most recent service tech, that there is a design flaw in the range and the heat of the oven when its in self-clean mode, trips a high-temp cut off, leaving the oven inoperable until the cut off is reset. So after spending all of the money that this high-end brand charges, youd expect some sort of resolution from Thermador customer support... not so fast. They have started a file, not approved reimbursement of the service calls and I continue to chase them after being promised callbacks. This seems to be a serious defect in this range, with multiple complaints regarding this very same issue. There appears to be no work around, other than not using the self-clean mode, REALLY? We chose Thermador appliances after visiting many appliance stores and talking to friends that have Thermador. Also, when you are purchasing all new appliances the appliance package is hard to pass up. We debated on getting Sub Zero/Wolf because it was only $3,000 more but in the end decided on Thermador 2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer much to our dismay. We got our refrigerator first because both were on back order. Within the first 24 hours our refrigerator lights were not working properly and the unit switched off and on. We had to contact a repair person within the first day of having it. They replaced the main board at this time. We then finally received our freezer and again issues. Both appliances (2018 Freedom Refrigerator and Freezer) completely quit working within the first week. We are beyond frustrated and disappointed. The customer service at Thermador is terrible!!! After following the advice of THERMADOR tech. (who was on speaker phone,) they decided to replace the control panel. That was done but it did not fix the problem. So now trying a display panel BUT once an electronic part is opened it cannot be returned. So $486 down the drain. When panel was connected something happened with electric and everything went out. Now they say I need relay, control and display! NO THANK YOU!!I have never written a negative comment on any appliance before and probably would not have bothered with this, but the poor customer service was worse than the actual horrible oven. When I called customer service, I can tell that she was not interested in what I had to say. All service call copies were emailed to the email address given with a case number she gave me. I followed up 3 days later and of course they said customer service gave me the wrong email address. Back to square 1. No working oven, in the middle of a pandemic with a family of 6 and only a cooktop and microwave. Thank goodness my cooktop is a Viking. Never had a service call on it. I am purchasing a new wall oven. I would love to drop this off at Thermadors doorstep. Purchasing a new oven. Needless to say it will not be a Thermador.

I build my kitchen around Thermador appliances... I received my range in December. It kept turning off after 10 min could not use self clean etc. Tech came out to fix...but after coming 3 times with no success my place of purchase decided to replace the whole range. I received a new 60 inch range 2017 model. They dropped it off without installing the unit...so I had someone come who I paid to do install. After install I was getting a cooling fan error. I had tech come again and he arrived after his second visit. He arrived with wrong part. A week later arrived again with wrong part...then called to say he would have to come back because he wasnt able to move unit by himself. Now another appointment a week later. He arrived with a pump to lift oven but wasnt strong enough to lift it...so lucky I was there. I helped him move the oven to install cooling fan. While oven was out I asked if he can pls raise the legs in the back about an inch so unit can be flush with tile. His response was its not my job. After all this and to say its not my job was very annoying...so now he installs fan but Im still receiving same error. I called again. They are sending same the same guy out with a helper. The day of repairs I get a call saying his helper could not get out of his driveway due to snow...really...but I was able to leave house with the same area snow. Now its end of March still no oven. 4 months without an oven to use and taking my wifes taken 10 days off work for them to come and fix. Horrible service. People whatever you do stay away from Thermador. Im am now going to place of purchase and asking them to remove all Thermador stuff from my home. I will be buying Wolf and Sub-Zero. Not sure of the issues I will be having if any with them but it cant be worse than Thermador...worst customer service I have ever come across. Also I paid like 20k for this range. My old oven I believe was a Miele. Ive had for 15 years without an issue. All I can say is stay far away.

We spent a lot of money on a 6-burner, double oven range about $5,000, 15 years ago. One of the burners doesnt work and the oven on indicator light will not go off. When we called for service, we were told that parts would be difficult to find. The technician will charge $100 to come out and tell us that there arent any parts for this appliance because it is so old. Really, the customer service rep (and supervisor) think that this is completely acceptable since the lifetime of the appliance is about 14 years. Why pay so much money for something that will be replaced in that period of time? I have a Maytag washing machine that is 25 years old and the couple of times it needed repairs, I was never told that its so old, parts may not be available. Im writing to advise people that you may as well go with a cheaper brand that supports their product rather than a Thermador that considers their own brand disposable. Service is a disgrace. Save your money.

Purchased Thermador Professional Double Oven. After 3 visits by the service department for error code issues, Thermador replaced the oven. The replacement oven started to develop intermittent issues …Not turning on, staying on even though settings where in off position error codes. Service came, and after spending time on phone with Thermador directly, his comment was “I have no idea what the problem is”. I am waiting to hear from Thermador what their next step is.

My Thermador Professional double oven bought for $12,000 in 2004. I have had 5 different repair man coming to my home to repair it, each visit about $70. Couple didnt call me back even. Last 2 repair professionals told me that there is no more parts for my high end oven. I called today Thermador myself. Customer service told me that after 7 years they dont make parts anymore??!! Technicians removed few parts here and there, to buy new, never got old ones back, dont know their parts numbers. Next week Feb. 28th 2017, Thermador own technician is coming to assess, $120 plus $30. Made in 2004, so expensive but not repairable. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO NOW??? P.S. I have 2 burners working only, other 4 burners, grill and both ovens are not.

We updated all of our appliances except our ovens, Thermador double wall oven, since they were still working well when we redid our kitchen. They have since failed intermittently, however they are 16 years old. We attempted to service them for repair without a result, and customer service Chris was incredible at understanding the issue and helping to expedite the next step of aiding with a new oven given we are 35 weeks pregnant and need a solution ASAP. They were understanding to our situation and went above and beyond to be helpful and empathetic. I am impressed at the professionalism and promptness of Chris with thermador, and will continue to love their products.
