I bought a suite of Thermador appliances a year and a half ago. Had issue with the oven and did NOT like their repairman. Recently our microwave handle began to peel. The foil covered a plastic handle which attaches to the front of the door. I actually cut my pinky opening the door from the foil. I found that I cannot get a warranty for it as it is over 9 months old. This will definitely happen again from stove heat and steam from the burner. It took over two months for the part to come in. I did not pay as this was under the 2 year warranty that came with it but I will pay next time probably almost 200$ to replace it. Should I just buy a new Microwave? Pathetic

I recently purchased a Thermador double wall oven. Since I was replacing an existing Thermador double wall oven and needed the same size, I did not check the reviews. My mistake. The ovens do not properly heat, so I contacted the store where I purchased the ovens and they came and checked them out. According to Yale Electric where I purchased the ovens, I should not expect the ovens to be at temp when the ovens register that they are at temp. I was told to preheat for a half an hour before using. Even when I do this, the ovens do not properly heat. Second issue is with the door venting system. The vents are just above the window, and while you cook, splattering can seep into the space leaving you with streaks and food on the inside of the glass. There is no way to clean it. I would not recommend purchasing a Thermador and regret my decision to do so.

In 2003 we built our new home, and builder chose all Thermador appliances for the kitchen. We thought it was a reputable brand, and went along with it. These are the worst appliances we have owned. The electric smart zone stove takes literally hour to bring water a boil, wasting my time. I have two ovens, one of which lost its LED display and required replacement. The other does not heat the inside on BAKE, you have to put it on CONVECTION. On both, the door stopped closing completely after a while, requiring repair (even though we use the ovens maybe once every other week at maximum). The dishwasher, which does not clean dirty dishes (you have to prewash them) required repairs twice. The bottom dish rack is rusted and it costs ~$200 to replace it. All in all, I spent a ton of money on repairs, and every single piece has been a pain in the neck. I would NEVER EVER buy this brand again.

We bought all Thermador appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. The double ovens have been nothing but trouble. We have had to replace the ignitors twice on the small oven and twice on the large oven. When I tell you the larger oven may have been used 10 times in between replacements, I might be exaggerating. Thermador refuses to do anything. When you call they are happy to note your concern in the account and that is it! We should have gone with Wolf.

I purchased $20K in Thermador kitchen and BBQ appliances in 2012. Products are attractive and appear well built and have generally performed OK, but Customer Care has been consistently terrible. The cooktop hood collects oil in a tray which leaked oil and stained our granite backsplash. After two service calls we fixed it ourselves, but too late for our backsplash - see a similar earlier posting also on this site (This is a simple design fix which any design engineering student could identify and remedy). Refrig unit failed recently after six years, and is still under warranty for parts. However, Thermador has no authorized refrig service provider covering this area (where we purchased from their dealer) and will not provide warranty parts to a non-authorized servicer. The BBQ unit does not distribute gas evenly and one side is always much hotter than the other. The Bosch dishwasher works well but retains a residual food odor - its stainless steel but plastic parts seem hold the odor. We havent bothered to approach Thermador on this. Thermador quality is way under part, and the company is very poorly run with respect to customer experience and satisfaction.I live in one of the fastest growing upscale communities in Southern California - one would think service availability for this area would be a priority. Nope. I have always been polite and respectful in my calls to Thermador - the first level staff is polite and tries to be helpful, but supervision and management has been curt and annoyed with my requests for help. Wish I had found this site prior to our purchase - we surely would have gone elsewhere, and you should too.

DO NOT BUY THERMADOR PRODUCTS!!! I bought my expensive double oven, cost $8000, 9 years ago. I have had over 18 appointments to repair it. It has cost me thousands. The electronic panel is right under the burners. Moisture constantly seeps in and shorts it out. Electronic panels cost $1100. I had to pay to have this done 3 times! Eventually I had to have a metal part designed at a sheet metal shop in Fullerton, installed to deflect the moisture and to lift it up off the bottom. I havent had a problem since. Went to clean the glass inside the oven and it shattered. I called and they said I had to buy a whole new door at a cost of $1100! Are you kidding me? I HATE MY OVEN! Now I am having NOTHING but problems with my expensive refrigerator! I have spent thousands on it as well. The list is endless: compressor out twice, heater once, ice maker three times. Rubber seal twice, it goes on and on!!! NO one cares at the customer service desk. NIGHTMARE!!!

We bought a high-end double wall oven because my wife loves to bake. Within the first year, it started having problems and Thermador sent out multiple repairmen to fix it. All claimed it was fixed but the same problems returned. The door will not close and the motherboard is fried. This thing is a piece of garbage and any appliance store that sells it such as Spencers TV and Appliance should be questioned for having such garbage in their store.

I bought a $4000 professional 36 oven/stove. The power outage just fried the circuit board. This was the only time a power outage has ever damaged anything we own. Their response was to call service department if power cycling for 15 minutes doesnt do anything. Then to talk to the power company about fixing the issue with power (like they can control weather). The part was probably $400 and the repair was for another $120-240. It could happen any time when there is a power outage.

I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer
I purchased a top of the line Thermador microwave, oven and warming drawer at the end of January 2019. The microwave did not work from installation. The repair man couldnt fix it after 2 months of working with him and Thermador. In the meantime, the repair man reinstalled the oven door poorly and it does not completely close. The warming drawer also does not heat evenly. After 2 plus months working with Thermador management, which never responds or finds resolution, and their certified repair companies, I am still without a microwave, oven and warming drawer that work properly.I have asked for my money back and they insist that I continually waste my time on the phone and at home waiting for someone to figure out how to repair the problem. I have a full time job and cannot spend endless days on trial and error. The management does not reach out to me with a better solution. I have to chase them. Each time there is a new person/manager with no follow up. When you pay that much money for quality, you would expect top notch products and customer service. Stay away from Thermador. You can find much better for a lesser price and better quality.

We purchased a Thermador triple oven combination (model #semw302) in 2007 when we built our home. Over the past 9 years weve had to have multiple repairs on the main oven. The door hinges have been replaced twice, the circuit board replaced once, the self cleaning function stopped working twice. Actually only worked for one self cleaning. Each time. Now we once again have to replace both the circuit board and the relay board on the oven. Great. After paying a service man $80 yesterday, we were told that Thermador has discontinued the circuit board that we need and it also needs to have the relay board replaced. Which I believe is somewhere around $225.It was suggested we try to find someone to rebuild our circuit board. Even after spending some considerable time searching the internet, I havent found anyone who can rebuild this particular circuit board. and this would probably cost over $200. Plus installation. I already have spent close to $1000 on repairs. The microwave and the warming drawer are both fine. Now it looks like we will have to throw out the whole triple combination unit since its one piece. We will NOT be looking to replace it with another Thermador. This may be the worst purchase weve ever made in 50 years of marriage. JUNK!

Bought a high end, very expensive, 30 refrigerator from thermador. Less than a year after installation I noticed a crack in the unit itself (not a drawer or accessory). I called Thermador, and the best they would do for me is send out a tech to patch the crack with epoxy. Now, a year later, the crack is wide open again and getting bigger. Terrible, flimsy product. Not worth the $$$ and Thermador does not stand behind their products or honor their warranty. Buyer beware.

Ive had nothing but bad luck with this thing. I’m so upset as my husband and I spent $$$ on renovating my kitchen (something I begged for many years). I purchased the entire Thermador kitchen since they were offering the deal of free dishwasher and hood. Now I know why they are giving this crap away. The dishwasher is broken and has been for about 1 month, service is terrible. Now I’m trying to bake Christmas cookies with my kids and Im ready to cry. Nothing is baking according to how it used to bake in my old oven. This thing is taking loads of extra time to bake a batch of cookies. Not to mention that my Thanksgiving turkey was totally dried out. This oven is an expensive piece of garbage that we are stuck with! Dont buy Thermador!

I purchased the entire kitchen package from Thermador; fridge, freezer, double over, range top, microwave and upgraded dishwasher due to package incentives. Within five months the $5K+ refrigerator went out and needs the compressor, evaporator and filter dryer replaced. While the store I purchased from has been great in trying to remedy, Ive gone a few weeks without it being repaired, Thermador originally left items off the repair order. While the refrigerator looks impressive, I would seriously look at Sub-zero or another brand, maybe a little more but you get what you pay for.

Thermador appliances are for sure sleek beautiful appliances. My experience with delivery, product reliability, service and customer service is/was not so good. I have purchased a dishwasher, range, range hood, and refrigerator. Ive had these appliances for about 1 month. Delivery: Three dishwashers were delivered to my home as each was damaged.Reliability: The refrigerator just flat out stopped working within 3/4 weeks. Service in my area is hard to find in my area. The appliance service from the purchaser was supposed to be wonderful, however, not so much for Thermador. Its been almost 2 weeks now, no fridge and Thanksgiving is in 5 days. Very frustrated with no callbacks and having to chase service provider. Breakage: The range door, upon moving into place, simply came off. Im unsure the motive to have it work this way, please beware. I do wish that my experiences were better, they are beautiful, however having appliances that are ready to install when delivered and in working order is much more important. Good luck.

Model CM302 - Lovely double oven with all the bells and whistles. Shortly after purchase the oven would turn off during use for no apparent reason. Then after several minutes it would turn back on. As time passed it would turn off more frequently and stay off longer before turning back on. Sometimes we would push the control panel and it would turn back on. We purchased a high end Thermador Dishwasher 3 years and 10 months ago. We had a Whirlpool dishwasher that lasted about 12 years, which we replaced with a nice KitchenAid that lasted about 7 years. We then decided to upgrade to a high end Dishwasher in December of 2015. We purchased a Thermador Stainless Steel Dishwasher because we were told it was a much higher quality machine than the Whirlpool or KitchenAid and it would outlast them all. It lasted only 3 years and 10 months before the heating coil quit working last week. Now it only washes with cold water and grease or butter stays on the silverware and plates. I called our local repair service and they said to contact Thermador because many companies will go ahead and cover repairs within a couple years of the warranty expiration. I called Thermador and they will not cover the repair diagnostic visit nor the parts if it is the heat coil, which is what the error code says that it is. I asked the representative to ask the supervisor again and he said we would have to pay for the first repair visit and he may consider covering 50% of the part ($54) only. I was shocked that the Thermador quit working only after 3 years 10 months of light use by only 2 people (1/3 of the time of the Whirlpool that had heavier use at that time) and then that Thermador wouldnt cover the complete repair even when asked nicely twice. I wanted to make sure others were aware and warned before they pay extra for a Thermador Dishwasher that may only last a couple years.

We just replaced a 15 year old Thermador Professional gas range and oven with a new 36” Thermador Professional 366 range and oven. About $10,000 invested with installation. Most disappointed on delivery to find new oven door quite dirty in between the glass windows. Also oven temperature about 60-70 degrees hotter than the dial setting. The worst, however, is that a new oven rack that was soaked in water for about 6-7 hours to remove some baked on cheese has started to rust. Obviously there is no quality control at factory and cheap materials are used for components. We have had two Wolf range/ovens and have been most happy with them. I would strongly recommend anyone looking for a top of line range/oven forget about the Thermador line.

I have to say that I purchased this range with great expectations thinking that Thermador had such a wonderful reputation; however, I am extremely disappointed in the performance of the larger oven. We had a small dinner party catered, and it would not hold the heat to finish preparing the dinner on her large sheet pans. Ive had problems with the lights not working intermittently, so I decided to replace the bulbs (which the manual states is a DIY maintenance item). This is not a DIY job because you have to crawl into the oven to reach them (there are 2 of them in the larger oven), and in order to do it properly, you pretty much have to remove the oven door. Suffice it to say that I now have to call a repairman to put the door back on. The first and only time I tried to clean the oven. The amperage on the circuit is exactly that specified by Thermador.

Pricier than your typical range but it very much well worth it. Can handle any job that you may have. Much more powerful than your typical range. Larger than your typical range so you have to take that into consideration. Can handle any type of meal that you are willing to cook. We recently purchased a new Thermador oven Model MSD301WS/01. The user interface is horrible as it uses a display panel that is located about 2 feet off of the floor and requires you to swipe the menu options (like a smartphone) to make your selections. I literally have to kneel down on the floor to read the display and the text swipes so quickly that I have to carefully swipe word by word to find what I want to do. I never thought that turning on an oven to bake something would be so difficult and uncomfortable! The oven comes with WiFi capability that is impossible to connect to your router. It is so bad (not even sure if it works) that there are 3 places you have to get instructions to try and connect it - the user manual, a special home connect instruction pamphlet, and the app you have to install on your smartphone. After spending several hours trying to connect to my router (I come from the IT industry) I finally called customer support. We spent almost an hour trying to get it connected while he gave me step by step instructions from 2 different instruction sources. We could never get it connected so we decided I need a service call. He told me that if the problem is due to connectivity from my router then I would have to pay for the service call. My router works fine but I think that this is really poor customer service! I discourage anyone looking at new ovens to buy this one. I will probably send mine back.

Thermador oven would not ignite. So I called Thermador Los Angeles to schedule a tech visit. The earliest they could come was 10 days later. Technician diagnosed the problem but did not have the part. 4 days later on 2nd visit he could not find the part and told me his company did not order it. 2 weeks later they told me to expect 3rd visit from same Technician. After waiting past schedule hours I decided to call Tech myself. Unfortunately poor guy felt bad because he did not have the part even for 3rd visit about 40 day after initiated service call. After I called company to complain I was told that the back ordered part is expected to arrive on April 1st. This would 3 month and no one told me about back order. Finally after talking with someone in charge I was promised a call back on Monday following week to work out some kind of deal with their partners that had that part. AND NO ONE CALLED, what horrible experience to wait 3 month for a part?? Needless to say I would never recommend the brand that I spend good money for and cant get customer service that is run by incompetent staff.

In 2013 I bought my dream kitchen appliances, paying close to $18,000.00 with a $2,000.00 install. I have had nothing but multiple problems with them. First, I called Thermador for a repairman. They gave me a number to a company that had closed their doors. It took several calls before I could find another repair dealer that was actually open. Repairs became constant. Microwave: Interlock switch replace, adjusted, again and again. It now blows my fuse. Freezer/Fridge: Freezer went out losing all food. Double oven: Replaced element and control panel and had to have it calibrated. Downdraft Vent Hood: Replaced motor (cost more than it is worth). Dishwasher: Grinding and error codes, leak, replaced sump. Some of these problems occurred over and over, costing us an amazing sum because Thermador only stands behind their products for two years. They claimed I only had called them for the microwave; but I registered all my products with them and called them multiple times, as did the repair dealer. They will do nothing to help make it right. Also, the company I bought them from, Orson Gygi in Utah, will not do anything either. They just feel sorry for you...tough luck. Don’t pay for expensive ‘dream’ kitchen appliances. You will have a great looking kitchen that is non-functional and cost you a lot of money. **The only appliance I have not had problems with is the magnetic cooktop that is glass. While I have a small chip in it, it is super easy to clean and so far, so good. It is beautiful. The ONLY product I am impressed with.

I spent over 25k for all of my appliances which include a Bosch Dishwasher, Thermador Convection Oven, and Thermador side by side refrigerator. Everyone of my appliances has either had a recall or failed. If you try to call Thermador for help, FORGET IT. You have to wait days before you get someone to come to your house. Once you get a Thermador technician to come by, God help you if they do their job right. Oh, if your appliance is over 10 years old forget about getting a replacement part.

Im on my 3rd Thermador full package in my 3rd house. Same pkg 3 times w/ some upgrades: Pro Harmony range, Pro fridge, Top of the line Sapphire dishwasher, microwave drawer, hood. $25k+. The 1st pkg was good. The 2nd pkg had issues w/ the range. Spark units were intermittently working. Repaired, worked fine. Dishwasher recalled electrical shocks or leaks. Dont remember. Microwave/dishwasher made by Bosch worked well. Now 3rd pkg. Fridge auto door assist mostly doesnt work. Replaced parts-still doesnt work. Gave up. The range is THE WORST! Ive had 12 repair calls.. 4 of 6 burners are blasting like blow torches since day 1. Theyre super loud. The repairman said tech support told him Its supposed to be like that. I appealed because my last one didnt do that. Thermador told me to convince the boss to help even tho she agreed that theres something wrong with it. This is ridiculous! After replacing almost every part in the range w/ 12 service calls. Countless phone calls! 4 burners still blast like blowtorches. I memorized the model # PRG366, $6300. Replaced regulator twice. Gas company checked pressure twice. I need a replacement, but Thermador isnt helping. The PRG366 at my last house on the same street didnt do this.

Wow. We have had so many problems with our gas range since purchased. We have a service warranty for 5 years and were lucky visits were covered. The experience of 2-3 visits per year for multiple problems is a nightmare. Burners out, potentiometers out, sparking constantly, oven burners out or shot. Wait for parts weeks at a time..... We remodeled our kitchen and purchased Thermador appliances to the tune of $18,000. I cant remember being more disappointed. The $8000 refrigerator arrived with rust on the handles. The local service contractor sent by Thermador to replace the handles scratched the panel necessitating service visits 2 and 3 within our first few weeks of ownership. Not long after the panels were replaced, the ice maker stopped working. Three additional service visits later, we still dont have ice. Weve owned the appliances for a little over two months, have had six service calls, each requiring that we give a three hour window. The ice maker has worked a grand total of about 10 days in those two months. Calls to Thermadors customer service department prove to be most unsatisfactory as they dont return promised phone calls. Who knows if well ever get ice. Im thanking my lucky stars that we purchased the retailers extended service agreement for all our appliances. I would recommend that you look elsewhere for your premium appliances as Thermadors customer service is undoubtedly not up to par for appliances in this price range.

Replacement part of oven sensor no longer available which makes the double ovens non-operational when it senses a problem that usually does not exist. All other parts of the oven work and it is poor customer service to leave a total replacement as the only option. Built-in oven replacements amount to thousands of dollars. I cannot in good conscience recommend a company that said they are only liable for the parts for 7 yrs. This is Thermador using Government Regulations to provide poor customer satisfaction and quality control.

Our drip pan for our indoor grill started bubbling & the paint chipped off. My first impression with the customer service rep was great. Then I received the phone call that Thermador refused to replace the drip pan after owning the stove top/oven barely after 1 year. What a huge disappointment; you spend so much money thinking the product will be high quality and in return they refuse to own up to a defect and provide good customer service. All of our appliances in our new remodeled kitchen are Thermador; I am afraid of what will not work next and what they wont replace!

Bought a new Thermador refrigerator from Ferguson’s in May 2014. This being Hawaii, had to wait for delivery. You learn patience in Hawaii, so I was ok with that. But I had to pay full price plus shipping upfront. Not too happy about that. Finally got the refrigerator installed in July 2014. Loved it. Didnt care that it was $10,000, since it worked great and ease of use. Icemaker was efficient and made plentiful ice. Then, in late October, the icemaker just stopped working. Only one repair shop would come to our side of the island (20 min drive). I had to wait a month for the appointment. Still, I have learned patience, so I waited. Repairman was great. He found that there was a factory defect - a short in the electrical wiring inside the wall of the freezer unit. Cant be repaired, so he called Thermador and told them (actually he insisted) that they needed to replace the refrigerator. He told me they would be contacting me. I wait another month. Today I get a call from Thermador (message on my phone) that they cannot replace the refrigerator, as they cannot be expected to ship it to Hawaii. WHAT?? They will give a credit for the unit to Ferguson’s. Excuse me? I paid for the refrigerator, I called for the repair. This does not bode well. Is this just another way of forcing me to pay for shipping and installation again? I dont really want to deal with Ferguson’s again, as once the sale is made, its like a personality change on the salesmen. This credit thing should be interesting..... I know Im screwed. Ah well, the refrigerator still works, as does the freezer. I just buy bags of ice at the grocery and dump them in the ice bin. A previous complainant mentioned a class action lawsuit. Im in. I anticipate a major run-around on this. Customer service is terrible and they dont back up their product. And everyone on this website paid a lot more than was needed for the appliance that has failed them.

Our 12-year-old daughter pushed the preheat button on the display panel of our Thermador oven, after which the entire front pane of glass in the top oven completely shattered into tiny little pieces (several fell on her but luckily she was not hurt). We called Thermador and they will pay for a diagnosis from a local repair company, then let us know further once they receive the diagnosis report. From what I know about glass, it seems to have a malfunction from the tempering process when it was made, so it should be covered completely by them for being defective...guess well see...

I have spent over $1500 in repairmen claiming they fixed the problem when in reality they never fixed anything. With a gas oven, how does one know if it is truly fixed? Do not buy Thermador. The company, the appliance center where we purchased the oven, and the repairmen were all of no help. Now we are stuck with this expensive oven that we cant even use. All items come out burnt on the bottom and completely raw on top.

Absolutely stunned at the extreme cost of this and the poor quality of the product. Thermador positions their products as being high-end and good quality, but their products including this freezer are the worst quality I have experienced. The freezer was brand new three months ago but wouldnt come out of demo mode which meant we couldnt use it. They had to send their repairman to come out and take it out of demo mode. He did that and then it turned on but the freezer doesnt get cold enough (meaning liquid ice cream), alarm keeps going of even when the doors are closed, and the ice maker and water system dont work. I called customer service again and they sent a repair guy. He tried some things but couldnt get it all to work so he said he had to leave for his next appointment so suggested we try something else ourself and if that didnt work itd have to be replaced. Guess what? Still didnt work. (And him leaving without resolving it should give you some idea of the customer service support you can expect.) Even after numerous repair appointments, its still not functioning and never has. Its brand new and we have a warranty on it and bought the extended warranty too (since they are so expensive.) Their customer service team has literally been zero help continuing to tell me that they will get back to me with a decision from management within 48 hours. A decision on what? --Whether or not they are willing to replace it or if they are going to send another repair person. Ive heard that line every few days for almost two months. Ive been without a working freezer since it was installed three months ago. After calling to check on the decision, they continue to say they will let management know I called and get back to me with a decision in 48 hours. They are a company that has no intention of honoring their warranties or in providing great quality products like they try to position them as. They dont work, their repair team is not knowledgeable and the customer service team will give you the runaround. Absolutely NOT worth the cost. I will never buy one of their products again.

After reading all the reviews of others who were also misinformed as I in thinking that buying an overpriced Thermador appliance would be providing me with at least a reliable product and some form of customer service. This confirms that Thermador is not all that it thinks it is. I also attempted via email to contact the CEO of Thermador. I have wrote several emails/letter to Customer Service and its like I dont exist. My Freezer/Fridge unit was purchased 2017 and within a month I has calling for a repair and it has been ongoing issue. I have to treat my $10,000 freezer as if owned a 1920 ice box freezer and manually remove everything and chip out the built up ice. This is the sacrifice I need to do so that I can maybe enjoy ice when it decides to produce some. Thermador has decide to abandoned their customers so we can make sure that we can share our experience with as many Thermador potential customers and save them from also being mislead. Word of mouth (internet/social media) is very effective. I am very interested in starting a Class Act Suit against Thermador. **

ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream
ProGrand oven and range - My wife and I bought this range that was a dream of my wifes, which now has turned out to be her worst NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! We had it installed in our remodeled kitchen. Looks really nice, but for the most part so does a bookend. The range part works well but the oven is a joke. The only thing it cooks good is our bank account...! The wonderful people at Thermador thought they had better way to light a oven, putting a delay of so many seconds on the gas valve, before it lights... Thus filling your oven full of gas and when it lights, which you have a 50/50 chance that it might, the door on the oven jumps out a bit as it is now lit... For how long it stays going is a crapshoot. If you are cooking a roast that will take over a hour, forget it. It wont relight to keep at temp. But the fun part of it is the temp on the dial shows whatever the temp you set it at! Open the oven and its around 100 degrees. NICE! It is what it is and thats JUNK!We had a company who was great repairing the Wonderful PRO-Grand, new name should be PRO Crap, but anyway the repairman found a missing part in the oven. Called the Company and got the repair tech on the phone, who stated, We do not sell that Part... Now three weeks later the repair company going to bat for me, got the people at Thermador to send us the part. Which in fact they forgot to install at the so-called Factory! Wonderful the problem fixed right?????? NOPE! Installed that part and the oven is still doing the same thing...! Anyway not wanting to see the Nice repairman again for awhile we started using the barbecue as our new oven!Works great keeps the temp right and it only cost $300.00. Pro Grand $6000.00 Plus.... Is there something wrong with this picture????? Now we are getting close to the end of this Saga.....! Bit the bullet and called the Nice Repairman. Was like old home week for the first three minutes, but he got the Pro Grand apart could not figure it out and call the Factory Tech. His name is Mr. Confused. Was told what was happening and he could not figure it out either.....! So the Nice Repairman asked, Why do we need this delay on the gas and light it like the broiler lights? which is right now... Doesnt figure does it.....! DA. Okay, now one great-minded repairman and one confused Factory Tech tells the Nice Repairman, You mean like the Older Pro Grands? Yes, the OLD ONE!!!!!!! Yes!!!! Factory Tech the Old tried and true Lights every time system. Okay, the Confused Factory Tech says... Now we wait!!!!!!! Nice repairman leaves to find out what he needs as far as parts and if he really is right... Yes he was!!!!! Mr. Nice Repairman got all the new stuff ordered and now I have to Open my wallet again to pay the Nice Repair Company...! The cost of this repair was Only $475.80 thus bring up the total cost of repairs to $1065.71 Pro Grands final repair total. Dont waste your time with Thermador thinking they will stand behind the product. The Fact is they wont....! For those of you who dont know this Thermador is owned by Bosch...... !

Updated on 11/03/2020: We bought a package of appliances for our home and because of past experience (20 years ago) with Thermador we decided to go that route again. It was a huge mistake as Thermador quality and customer service are far different now. We paid about $13,000 for the range and it has not worked since being installed. Had a service appointment scheduled which was three weeks out. When the date came no one showed up and they conveniently said they showed no appointment in their records. This caused another 3 week delay. Guy finally showed up today and once again he said he had to order parts and will schedule an appointment to install the parts. We are now at 2 months without an operating range. I strongly recommend anyone looking at Thermador, Subzero or any of their products to rethink it. These people are difficult to deal with, have next to no customer support and they could care less about their companys failure to take care of its customers.Original Review: We remodeled our home and used Thermador products. We originally had a Thermador range we build home the home 22 years ago. That range was pretty problem free. We bought the same type of model as well as a subzero refrigerator and other appliances. We just moved back into our home and tried to use the ovens. They failed and are not working. Called Thermador and they said it will take 3 weeks to get anyone out. No sense of urgency and next to zero in support. I would never use their products again and will certainly never recommend them. To expect someone to wait 3 weeks is insane.

My 2-year-old $2,700 glass Thermador cooktop has begun to look like an old wall mirror. The black continues to spread and mar the meticulously maintained surface. It was not an easy decision to buy such an expensive appliance, but I had just remodeled my kitchen and love to cook; so, I splurged. Big mistake with Thermador. It was a process of over a month with continued correspondence. Finally, they agreed to replace the glass, but not to pay for the installation. How absurd! It was no fault of mine that they produced a defective cooktop. I already paid to have it installed when I purchased it! I guess I am keeping my fingers crossed that this one will not need to be replaced and installed again in another two years; furthermore, it took over a month to convince them to at least pay for the glass.I also purchased two Wolf ovens and a Liebherr refrigerator. I had problems with both of them as well, but unlike Thermador, their customer service departments were amazing. The warranties were out of coverage as well, but they stood behind their name and all was immediately replaced and installed at no charge! Stay away from Thermador!!!

Regular fridge had ice problems in freezer from day 1 and water condensation issues in fridge. No solution offered by their service dept, they tell me its sophisticated software and has to be allowed to work these problems out over time!!Cant use double oven, it actually works but it loudly blows hot air into kitchen raising house temp 5 degrees. So you cant use it and entertain in the kitchen at the same time. Cant stress enough for the same money or less, try the other big brands, this one you will definitely regret. The Thermador Double Oven had been giving beeping sounds the past year, but now a F24 error comes on and the touch panel stops working. Have to shut the breaker off to stop the beeping. Called Thermador for the part (Glass Touch Pad 00368774) and they said it is discontinued. Told to go search ebay. No one has it. An almost $4,000 oven is now useless.

Bought the Freedom Induction Cooktop 7 years ago. First broke down two months out of 3 year warranty then again at seven year mark. Customer support was extremely poor. Thermador Serviceman said he had never been trained on the stove and didn’t know what to do. Both times it was the main module that went. First repair was over $600 and this repair would have been Over $1400. Customer service would not tell me whether a new part would have been modified to fix the obvious problem (as written up all over the internet). We chosen to pursue our FREEDOM from THERMACRAP and choose to INDUCT them into the Hall of Poor Quality and Customer Support. We have had much better success with KitchenAid.

Spent over $27,125.00 on Thermador appliances. 48 range knobs were very loose and oven temp was not working. It was on 350 but the oven would only slightly warm. Got a new thermostat knob yet the oven does not heat up accurately. Smaller oven to this day still does not work properly. Bake means broil!! We can never get a correct temp. And for the first 5 mins it broils no matter what temp you are on. Fridge/freezer side by side was delivered with broken wheels. Ice machine has broken twice - Went months without ice. Drawers have broken. Now our dishwasher on the outside panel has RUSTED. How does stainless steel rust? The whole front is brown. We sent pics in and complained. Oh but you only have 30 days on cosmetics. Buy this cleaner... Customer Service is disgraceful. They dont care at all - I want a Thermador sales rep in my house NOW! Shame on you Thermador. You have no customer service loyalty. You took my money and wont help anyone by the looks of things, not just me. Be warned. Dont buy Thermador, I am sick over this...

When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances
When we remodeled our kitchen 4 years ago we purchased Thermador appliances - 2 ovens, an induction stovetop, and a dishwasher. I called for repairs on the ovens right away. They did not cook to temperature. Sometimes it takes me twice as long to cook a recipe. When making cookies and the recipe say 12 minutes, I set the trimmer for 16. When the repair man got there he told me that I needed to learn to cook again and that the times on recipes were not right. I told him that if an oven cooked to temp, then if they say it is done in 30 minutes, then it should be. I was told that, This is the way German engineers wanted it. I guess they do not want their appliance to work accurately. So we called the factory show room in Burlingame and attended their cooking class. I kept asking them about my problem with the ovens not being on temp. There I was told that I needed to look up on a chart the weight of our food and what type of food it is to determine the cooking time and temp. I was told to never just turn the oven on but to always use the fast preheating setting. This is hog-wash. To this day my ovens do not cook to temp and baking anything is a gamble. I have been very disappointed with my Thermador ovens.

Its the night before Thanksgiving and my Thermador oven has decided once again not to work. I cannot read an error code for it because that has not worked in over a year. When I tried to have that fixed, the technician said Thermador no longer makes that part. This product is 15 years old. The oven my mother used when I was growing up is still working and she has been dead for more than 15 years. Thermador has a racket going.

We purchased a Thermador Pro Harmony 36 range in 2010 and have been disappointed with it ever since. It was purchased as part of a kitchen remodel package and all 3 Thermador appliances purchased have been replaced over the 7 years we had them, except our oven which only performs sporadically. The griddle stopped working after a year, the circuit board has been replaced, the burner ignitors have been replaced, the broiler function no longer works and the oven door hinges no longer work to keep the door shut. We literally have to push a stool up against the door when we use the oven to keep the door closed. Thermador says they no longer make hinges since the oven is discontinued. And, they couldnt even provide me the name of a parts company to order new hinges. Apparently the hinges are no longer available, anywhere! They are worthless! DO NOT BUY THERMADOR!

Since this is obviously a LEMON, I am asking for it to be replaced. I would NEVER, EVER buy another Thermador product! Try finding out about their company, president, etc. Virtually impossible... As part of a SF Bay Area remodel last year, we were excited to replace all
As part of a SF Bay Area remodel last year, we were excited to replace all appliances with Thermador top-line products. We spent about $30,000, anticipating a great kitchen experience with their products. Instead, we were utterly disappointed and left wishing that we had picked almost any other appliance brand! The Thermador Convection Oven Microwave MC30WS/01 is a nightmare. Every single time you have to use the microwave you have to endure a 2-second ‘boot-up’ process that flashes “Thermador” accompanied by a loud tinny tune. WHY??Then it takes 3 steps to select a simple microwave setting to finally get it going. But, if you start the unit and step away to do anything else (which is what you do all the time!) it will hammer you with a loud alert jingle that it is done - not once or twice, but again, and again, and again and again and again and AGAIN… a total of FIFTEEN TIMES! WHY?? And there’s no way to silence this “feature”. For $3,000 all we bought ourselves was a dose of daily aggravation. Similarly the Dishwasher DWHD650WPR/13. Once it completes the wash cycle, it too announces repeatedly - SIX loud beeps which repeat over and over SIX times, even in the dead of night.. and the only way to stop that madness is to go and open the unit’s door! It makes us wonder if these products are designed to impose upon the user rather than to do their job and sort of disappear in the background? For instance if a user starts the dishwasher at night, does Thermador expect her to stand by until the cycle is complete and they can kill the alerts so that a guest sleeping in an adjacent room doesn’t get disturbed? Or if a user starts the microwave, are they expected to physically stand by so that a string of unending alerts don’t wake up a sleeping baby? It is as if the people who designed the products never used them themselves. Otherwise it is hard to understand how anyone, especially a company like Bosch / Thermador, would let this stuff fly. We’ve never been so disappointed with appliances in all our lives, certainly not ones that are so expensive.

I purchased the side by side fridge and freezer in 2011. The ice maker immediately stopped working so it was replaced. The new ice maker would then jam up and cause me to take the drawer out and manually break up the ice. Ive spent over $500 in repair costs to try to get this fixed and nobody has an answer. Now, 8 years after I bought it, I still have to pull the drawer out and manually break up the ice every couple of days. Thats hundreds of times now since I bought it. I get more annoyed each time I have to do it as you could imagine. Ive contacted Thermador support multiple times on this matter. Each time they deny my request for action on their end. Ive spent well over $25k on Thermador appliances. ILL NEVER GIVE ANOTHER DOLLAR TO THIS COMPANY. Highly overrated and overpriced. Good riddance.

Two and a half months ago my CIT365DS induction cook-top displayed an F0 error code. Two burners are out. I repeatedly called tech support and they couldnt find an authorized repair tech in my area. After 2 months I finally got a call from South Carolina telling me that I am on my own in finding someone to service my cook-top. I have the name of the Thermador service technician in Huntington Beach, Ca who for three weeks failed to call the one person left who is qualified to repair this thing. I even spoke with this Thermador technician last week and he assured me that he would call the service company in Port Angeles and arrange a service call. He failed miserably in making that call. And dont forget to buy a turkey roaster! They are still on sale at Costco!

I wish Id never bought it. This Thermador range has very finicky computer boards under the two X-LO simmer burners which are the first to go. My stove was delivered in September; the first burner broke in November, the next one in December, a third one in January, and in February, the original broken one broke again. I had 7 service appointments in the first 6 months for 4 out of 5 burners, and I wanted to return the stove. Its a lemon, or a bad design. But neither the appliance store nor Thermador would hear of it. Thermador extended my warranty another year, and that first burner just broke again. So Ive had 10 service calls now in two years. I told my friend who was shopping not to get this stove, but she ignored my advice, got a Thermador, and had to call service for repair in the first couple months. Choose a Wolf or Viking instead!

Buy any other brand other than Thermador for refrigeration! Fortunately we only purchased the under counter drawers but 2 motherboards have been replaced and it still is pinging 3 times every time the compressor goes on. First problem- the drawers just stopped cooling - first motherboard replacement after 4 months of waiting for them. Second problem- the pinging that happens when you accidentally leave the doors ajar, once it went off, it would not stop even though closed. Motherboard #2 replaced and the control panel after 3 weeks of waiting. Repair guy left, and now it is still pinging 3 times when the compressor goes on. What a friggin nightmare for $6000 bucks. Should have bought a sub zero or any other brand. This thing is a lemon, and going out of warranty soon- would never buy a Thermador again! I purchased a $6250 (current retail price) 30 inch freezer column in 2009 when we built our home. 18 months after installation, the ice maker ceased working. No warranty. The freezer failed to cool 6 weeks ago. The part necessary to rectify the problem was also not covered -- just like the ice maker. We opted not to replace the ice maker, which would have resulted in a $700 charge and we paid approximately $350 to repair the current issue. It is unacceptable, and really borders on criminal, to incur these types of failures on a unit this new at a high end price point. I have an old GE fridge/freezer in the garage that was only several hundred dollars that is still working after 25 years. Shame on Thermador. I have several other Thermador appliances that are suboptimal. The Bosch washer died last Christmas after six service calls. Dont purchase Thermador or Bosch. You will be sorry!

We purchased both of these units. Thought we would not have to worry about buying appliances for awhile...wrong!! The panel on the oven, even if you are cooking, turns off... starts beeping with a code f24. Thermador is fully aware of this problem. There is also a recall. If you try using the self-clean feature, the oven can catch fire. I did an online search for this oven. There is a recall -- An 800 number is listed on line for the owner to call. This is to set up a repairman to come out. This site claims they are open to take callers 24/7. I have heard a recorded message that has said, Thank you for calling, a customer service person will be with you shortly. I have heard this message 178 times as of this minute. As for the propane cook top, with the built in BBQ, the flames are so low, I stopped using the cook top, called out a repairman. He said, No way can I increase the flame size. Cost to me -- over $9,000.00, PLUS INSTALLATION. So, if you still want to purchase anything Thermador, you have a problem...it will be on you. You have been warned.

4 year old ovens. We have been having problems baking and cooking things in the ovens. Seemed inconsistent. Supposedly quality product but finally clued in that we should check the temperature. So we checked set to 350. Oven heats and beeps and says its 350 but its only 275. Do same 400. Beeps goes to 350. Not consistent and gauge lies. Called Thermador. Said they would send a tech. No mention of a fee until 1 week wait and 10 minutes before arrival. Pay $120 plus $60/15 minutes. Turns out not even the first 5 minutes was included... Cheesy. So he determined the ovens are fine as they turn on. Called Thermador. They say they will eventually creep to a higher temperature. Nothing they can do. Useless ovens as they heat to different temperatures and different settings and the gauges are not correct and seems they are cheating on when the temperature is at its set level. Never thought we would have this issue with what we thought was a quality brand and am very disappointed with their lack of wanting to take any responsibility. Absolutely will never buy a Thermador product again and will enjoy telling others to avoid it.

We purchased a complete Thermador package in 2015 that included the side by side fridge and freezer unit approximately $8000.00. The first 18 months, no problems. Then water/ice started to run down the inside of the freezer and interfering with the unit fan. Which then resulted in the temperature rising above freezing. The certified Thermador repair folks have been out at least 6 times and have replaced almost all of the components of the freezer unit usually at a cost of $200 per visit. When working on the unit, they were in voice contact with the Thermador technicians doing what they were told. Each repair lasted 3-4 months and then water and ice began to run down the insides of the unit, same old problem. Thank heavens the local, certified tech is nice to work with and he is totally frustrated with the Thermador experts. I would think Thermador would replace such a defective unit at cost or no cost. But not at this date. Working with the local tech we are going to send an itemized cost of repair to Thermador that has occurred over the past years and see what happens. Will keep you posted.

After purchasing our Thermador Range, Model # PRD366GHU in 2011, the oven has stopped working on multiple occasions. Only to finally find out, from the most recent service tech, that there is a design flaw in the range and the heat of the oven when its in self-clean mode, trips a high-temp cut off, leaving the oven inoperable until the cut off is reset. So after spending all of the money that this high-end brand charges, youd expect some sort of resolution from Thermador customer support... not so fast. They have started a file, not approved reimbursement of the service calls and I continue to chase them after being promised callbacks. This seems to be a serious defect in this range, with multiple complaints regarding this very same issue. There appears to be no work around, other than not using the self-clean mode, REALLY? I spent THOUSANDS on what Id expect to be high end appliances which included a column fridge/freezer/wine cooler, ovens, range and range hood. From day one when the installer came to install, parts were missing, for the freezer, the range hood had parts that were not correctly fabricated, the fridge had broken trays as well as a faulty motor which operates the push door for opening and closing. Contacted CS to explain and have them resolve. They sent a Tech out to verify the issues. He said the parts would to be ordered. This was in May and now we are in June and I still do not have these resolved. In my first follow up call, I was told the parts had arrived and I should be receiving a call from the Tech to schedule an appointment. A week late, no call so I called CS again and asked to speak to a Supervisor. I was told the part never came and he didnt know why I was told it had. He then proceeded to tell me the part is still on order and it may take another few weeks. In the meantime, one of the parts (fridge tray) had been in the Techs possession way back in June. I proceeded to ask if the Tech could come and install the tray but was told that it would cost Thermador an unnecessary expense and they would send the Tech out once the other parts are received. He made no attempts to accommodate nor had sympathy.Considering all the crap that I have experienced, and patiently, I expected far more service and accommodation than was given. I purchased high-end appliances at a high cost expecting top-rated service, but it has not been anywhere near that. Its one thing to have bad products but to have horrific service too!!! From the reviews Ive read on this site, it appears Im not alone.

We have nothing but problems; the control panel has been replaced three times (at $300 per panel) and it still doesnt work. You cant read the numbers on it (i.e., the clock, the temperature). If you set the panel flush on the wall like its supposed to be, it doesnt work so you have to leave the panel hanging off the wall about 1/4 in order for the buttons to work. The elements have been replaced once, but the bottom oven still wont work. Today, the convection fan and light will come on in both the upper and bottom ovens but it wont heat up. Piece of junk!
