PDT845SMJES - I purchased the entire GE Profile series when we remodeled our kitchen in October 2016. The first time I started the dishwasher, it leaked out the bottom of the door. The store where I purchased it sent out a plumber who discovered the soap dispenser was missing the seal. Took a week to order and replace the seal. Worked fine for 5 weeks. Then, on December 17, 2016, it quit mid cycle and I got the leak detected error message. Now I am in dishwasher hell. The store where I bought it said they were too busy to come and check it, so they told me to call GEs customer service number. GE sent out a plumber from Iowa (I live in SD). He removed the bottom panel, to look underneath and decided it needed a new pump and also a new soap dispenser part. That was on back order, so I had to wait until January 11, 2017 for him to come back. When he pulled out the dishwasher to replace the pump, he discovered the tub was leaking along the left side. He said the unit could not be fixed and suggested I call the store where I originally purchased it. They agreed the unit could not be fixed and contacted GE and got me a case number and said GE would call me by the end of the week. Im still waiting for that call. Do NOT buy this model GE dishwasher. GE apparently doesnt stand behind its products and the stores that sell GE are helpless to do anything for you.

We purchased this new 8 years ago however the problems started after about two and a half years of use. I called GE when the paint started peeling off of the door of the microwave. They asked me if I cooked salty foods. I cook bacon in the microwave. They told me my only option was to buy a new door and have it installed. It was $250 at the time. I did not have the money or desire to fool with it. I continued to use the microwave and it has continued to degrade. Now eight years later there is so much metal showing that we decided we must do something. It is unsightly and very difficult to clean because its rusting. Ive been expecting electrical arcs to occur and the microwave to catch on fire. It hasnt done that. It has continued to cook the food. The entire metal area on the door is without paint. There are other large areas of metal and rust inside on the bottom of the microwave. The entire vent panel is without paint and rusted. We also had to have the control panel replaced twice. It was covered once under the warranty and once it was not. We also had to replace the element in the oven which is used rarely. To replace the microwave and oven combination now would be $3,500. When I do replace it I will replace it with a different brand.

Microwave is a 2001 and works just fine. There are a couple of things that could be better and that’s the exhaust and the lighting outside of microwave. Possibly could be more energy efficient but are bigger models built that way?

This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. The GE site: https://appliances.monogram.com/us/specs/ZEB1227SLSS indicates in two places that the built-in trim kit is included (and one place where it is listed as additional), yet GE has confirmed that in fact, the trim kit is an optional add-on with a $325 additional cost. Calls to GEs consumer line have been disappointing. Me: Your website says its included, and is in a section with other features that are in fact included but not additional fees; GE: We have confirmed that the trim kit costs extra. We have, in fact, purchased the oven and are awaiting its installation, and I have other experience with GE Monogram appliances so I expect this to operate well. But I cannot understand their reluctance to acknowledge this error on their site. Potential buyers, please beware of this issue.

GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old.
GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old. Two years ago, we noticed that the gaskets, both around the tub and on the bottom of the door, were becoming gummy and rippling. We were hoping to make it another couple of years before buying a new dishwasher, but a couple of week ago, the top arm fell off because the gasket was so degraded. We ordered the appropriate parts and were only able to replace the top-arm gasket and the tub gasket. We had to call an authorized GE repairman, specifically RC Appliance in Sparks, NV. When he tried to get the gasket out, his hands turned black from the rubber. After about an hour of trying to get the new gasket installed, he had to use his pliers to crimp the gasket in place leaving large dents along the bottom edge of the door. He said the factory had crimped the old gasket in place at the factory from the other side. I am extremely unhappy about the workmanship and the fact that the gaskets did not last a reasonable time. I dont want to seek an attorney, but would rather GE contact me to discuss what must be done.

Purchased an entire kitchen suite of GE appliances. Almost instantly the fridge started making loud noises which the repairman told me was normal. LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. I wear earplugs in my house to avoid the noise! Secondly, the dishwasher started leaking and the warranty company is refusing to honor the warranty so Ive been hand washing dishes since August! They also refuse to refund the extended warranty fee. Currently filing a protest with consumer fraud. STAY AWAY FROM GE, isnt that a shame! THEIR PRODUCTS ARE JUNK!

The arching of the metal rack caused smoldering in the microwave. I prepared a baked potato in the microwave. I smelled something burning. I assumed the potato was burning. I removed it, used the microwave again and smelled the burning again. Upon close examination, I removed the rake and that is where the burning and smoke is. The plastic hook/holder was melted and the side of the microwave was charred. I called GE and they said I should not have been using the rack with such a small amount of food. I have used this microwave almost daily for years - I never knew this. They said its safe. I dont believe it is. They told me to call repair. Im not satisfied.

Microwave Model HVM1540LP1CS... This microwave was installed 6 years ago when I built my home. I live by myself and the microwave has only been used by me. I loved this microwave until suddenly it began to turn on by itself and I would often hear popping noises. I looked up reviews of this GE microwave and found that this is a frequent problem with GE microwaves. Fires were reported in a couple of reviews so I immediately unplugged mine, as a safety precaution. If this happens frequently with these microwaves, why isnt GE replacing the parts for the defective machines since they can be fire hazards?

We moved in to our home in 2006 and it had a GE Monogram Microwave built in. The microwave died and I purchased a similar GE Monogram microwave to match our kitchen in 2014. That microwave died exactly 17 months later. Fortunately, we had a home warranty program as we are selling our home. I figured that this saved me the effort to complain to GE about their product... Wrong. The Home Warranty program sent a repairman who said we can order a part. A few days later I received a call that they would replace the microwave. OK... I checked online as well as with a local retailer to see which model is the replacement model, and trim kit. Today (about 10 days after I first called for service) they delivered the new GE Monogram microwave and installed it. Fortunately, I asked to test it and we tried to boil a cup of water. The contents in the oven being cooked were not visible. Either the light was too dim or the shading on the door was too dark. I have never seen a Microwave where you could not view what is inside. I called GE Customer Service while the installers were there and they refused to allow me to keep it until a replacement was delivered. They had to deinstall it, re-install my old (non working unit) and take the new one back. I called GE with my homeowners claim info and they sent me back to the Homeowner Warranty company to start the claim all over. Ridiculous.Instead of a replacement they offered me a cash value which was 60% of what I paid the retailers. When I asked why that amount? They only provide the value based on what the Warranty company gets the products/services for (wholesale cost). Net: If I used the money to buy another product it would cost me out-of-pocket for replacement. I am hoping the new unit to be delivered in the next 3 days works better. Otherwise, GE has a significant design flaw that doesnt allow you to view what is cooking in the Microwave. If thats the case, why have a window at all? Fyi - My Panasonic Microwave in our basement is working fine.... and has for years.

I bought countertop microwave on 7-2-10 in Panorama City, CA. We were moving to Houston so left it in its original box, but the new apartment had a built-in. I left it in box until May 25, 2011 when we moved into an empty house. I took out my new microwave and used it from 5/25/11 until 12/4/11. I baked a 5- minute sweet potato. Later, I went to reheat coffee and no clock, no nothing. I tried the microwave at different plugs, no response. Then I tried the toaster in the microwaves plug. The toaster was fine so its not the plug. A repairman at his business location said its probably the computer chip. For $95, he would install a new one which would last a lot longer. So now we have disposable GE microwaves.

I purchased a GE Spacemaker Microwave model JVM 1750SP1SS from Best Buy in October of 2011. Just a few months after having the microwave, the handle came off. I called GE and they sent a technician and fixed it but it left scratches on the stainless steel. In addition, we have had problems with the turntable. Finally on March of 2013, the keypad went out. This of course is past the one-year warranty. I called GE and they told me that they could schedule a service call for $89.95 plus parts and labor. I told them that I could buy another microwave from another company for less than that would probably cost. This microwave was made in Malaysia. I would not recommend any GE appliances that are not made in the US.

We bought this dishwasher, with third rack and steel tub, after extensively reading reviews online. We went through Home Depot and had to wait a month for the dishwasher to be delivered. We have had it just over a month now and not only does it fail to get all of the dishes completely clean (even when run on heavy cycle) it NEVER dries even with the dry boost on. We never overload it or load it incorrectly and still there are dishes and utensils with food residue after its done running which takes hours. I predict it will rust out in about five years (planned obsolescence). The only feature Im happy with is that it is nearly silent. Not hearing it run helps to not remind me how much money we wasted.

We bought a GE dishwasher and a GE oven/micro combo. We were told that we would have them in a week but it took three and a half weeks to get them. The dishwasher was damaged/defective and did not work; water leaked all over the floor several times and dishes wouldnt wash. They would not replace the unit but insisted that they had to service it. A couple more weeks passed and the repairman had to return thrice to finally get it to work. The microwave had a bent door that did not lineup properly when closed. Again, another repair was scheduled and we had to experience another service call. I have never had a worse experience buying appliances than I had at Pacific Sales. Kwam, the manager does not return phone calls. He made promises of helping us with a discount because of our troubles but has not kept those promises. Their contract installers are inept and unkempt. My appliances do not seem new since they were repaired and the door on the microwave is still not lined up as a new unit should be.This experience was an unmitigated disaster that should not happen to any consumer. Never will I buy anything from Pacific Sales or their parent Best Buy again. These problems are created by their management and their management does not care.

Our dishwasher also refused to turn off after it was done washing dishes, usually humming for hours afterward. One day, we came home and found that the whole house smelt of burnt plastic. I purchased my new home equipped with all new G.E. Profile stainless appliances. Three years after that, our microwave (model number JE2160SFS01) had the magnetron go bad - no problem. I called G.E. and had a tech come out and replace it ($79.95). Great! 4 years later, it goes out again. But it’s still covered under warranty (cool). I call them, set up appointment, and ask what the charges will be - $79.95 home service fee. Fantastic! I schedule the appointment, and three days later, a technician comes to my home. I tell him it’s the magnetron, and he turns on the microwave for a second. He says yup and types his diagnosis into his laptop and prints out his estimate. He hands it to me, and it says “Total amount $ 270.10”! On a covered part!I asked him if he was joking, because the M.S.R.P. for that model, which I got from G.E., is... wait for it... $269.00 for the whole microwave oven! I threw the tech out and called their consumer advocate line (which took over an hour to talk to a human) and asked who sets their pricing for repairs, and was told their senior technicians set the labor charges! It’s a twenty-minute job! $190.00 for twenty minutes? So the tech left with $79.95 for doing absolutely nothing! Great job General Electric! I will never buy another product from you again! By the way, the magnetron they say is priced at $142.30 is available online for $97.50! It takes twenty minutes to replace, and a monkey can do it!

We purchased a new home November 2013, which came with all GE appliances. The problem is the dishwasher racks. I recently purchased a GD720SGF2WW Serial #HD744674B GE dishwasher. From the moment I tried to use it there was a leak from the bottom of the door. I called for service and when they came the repair man said the door was leaking and there was a repair kit for it so it must be a weak spot in this particular dishwasher, which by the way was not a cheap model and was stainless steel lined. I waited a month for further service and when he finally came he realized he had mistakenly diagnosed the problem and it was a crack in the lining of the door which had gradually gotten bigger as I waited for service. So this NEW dishwasher had been leaking onto my newly installed hardwood floor. By this time I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher and said I wanted a replacement. I was called back and told that they would only repair it, which I have been trying to do since NOVEMBER and it is now Jan 21! I will no longer buy GE products and when I called customer service I was on hold for 20 min and finally hung up which Im sure was their intent.

Fourteen months after buying my new built-in GE Profile Microwave/Convection, it stopped heating. I was told by GE that it was not under warranty. I paid close to $300 to an appliance service operation locally to fix my nearly $1,000.00 GE built-in (depending on the microwave to help feed four kids under the age of nine). So, about 13 months later I had another heating issue and I called the appliance service operation and they found another problem with the microwave. They said it was a faulty piece of equipment, replaced it and didnt charge me since they were local and said this shouldnt have happened (knew I was recently divorced and took pity on me). Almost 18 months after this, so three years after the purchase, the microwave started to act up again - it continues to work even after you open the microwave. Just dealt with it since it still worked. However, 6 months later, the microwave now doesnt heat. The power is on, and nothing happens inside. This started a week ago, but it was off and on. Now its dead. Never buying a GE anything. Ive got to buy a microwave and a refrigerator in the next six months. It is NOT going to be a GE!

I purchased this GE dishwasher May 2015 through Amazon. Immediately after installation I was having trouble where it kept beeping when I went to wash dishes. A repairman came out and said there was a recall on the control panel and he replaced - no charge. In July 2017 this dishwasher flooded onto my laminate floor. I found it in the morning when I woke up. An appliance repairman came out. Did not know why it flooded. No charge this time, but he made a few adjustments and it seemed fine. Then the bottom sprayer arm broke. The heat shields fell off and the arm melted. I had that replaced. Then the washer would not dry - no matter what I did. Repairman came out. He did not have access to the GE computer program but made some suggestions. No charge. Dishwasher seemed to dry better for two weeks. Then in August it flooded again. A repairman came out. Ran the dishwasher, but it did not flood, so he did not know what the problem was. This time charged me $60 and said call if it floods again. Obviously I am afraid to run the dishwasher at night or when I am away in case it floods again. Plus the dishwasher is not drying completely.I have contacted GE. Their response is: Normally we dont do this because your warranty has expired already; however, I have a bit of a soft spot and think some extra consideration is due. I did a lot of research and came up with a couple options to help you out: I realize this is not ideal but we can extend to you our discount into any new model if you find its not cost effective to repair. I found the 2017 comparable model for you. Really??? I dont want another GE. I want a refund as this is a piece of junk. Plus this kind person said it would only cost me $484 and I will have another warranty.

Unfortunately, the GE dishwasher came standard in the new townhouse I bought. It is horrible! Within the first year it smelled like sulfur every time I turned it on. I tried cleaning it from top to bottom, but there is always grime after running it and a film on the dishes. Ive had dishwashers all my life and never experienced such a shoddy piece of **. I had many brands of dishwashers over the years, except for GE, and I dont remember having to take it apart and clean it once a week. If I dont clean it once a week it stinks!!! I couldnt stand the smell and finally called the GE repair expert. He knew less about the dishwasher than my cat. I could have purchased a new dishwasher for what I paid for the service call. And he talked to me like I was an idiot. DO NOT BUY A GE DISHWASHER or use their service. I wish I could give it minus 5 stars.

When we bought our house we upgraded our GE appliances to stainless steel. I had no problems with the dishwasher until a few days ago. Then it stopped working completely. As with most of the complaints I have read the control panel was not working. We took the front door apart just to see if the dishwasher was worth salvaging or should we buy a new one. A screw was NEVER installed on the vent assembly to hold it in place. The entire inside if the door was corroded by steam and/or water. So every wash slowly degrading the electronics. 18 months, 6 months past its warranty where now its out of their hands and you can pay $89 to have someone just look at it. We were lucky it just broke because this hidden mistake on their part could have not only caused a short circuit but a fire. Like so many of the other stories. I will not buy GE again.

The protective lining inside the microwave is coming off in a number of areas and the metal is visible and rusted. Is it hazardous to use the oven which is otherwise working? I contacted the Consumer relations department of GE and was told that its not repairable and offered only $25 as rebate to buy another one from them or any other retail store. I visited a couple of merchants, online and in their store, shopping for a similar product and got a price range between $250-450 plus $110 installation fee for a similar OTC microwave oven. We have all other appliances at home from GE and this does not give a good confidence about the products from GE.

A small black piece of plastic, which snapped into the back of the microwave handle has bent/shrunk, and popped off. My microwave is just a little over one year old. I called the GE 1-800 phone number for parts, and GE does not offer a replacement part for this, without buying a whole new replacement handle, which costs over $160.00.

I purchased a GE dishwasher, stove and refrigerator in December 2012. All 3 appliances have broken, needed parts (which were also broken) and I still have appliances that arent working appropriately. The dishwasher door broke and it doesnt clean or dry well. The induction stove (the main burner) doesnt work and the replacement part was delivered to my house and that was delivered broken. The fan in the refrigerator broke and still remains broken. I have had nothing but headaches since the day the appliances were delivered. I would not recommend GE appliances.

A recall on a dishwasher: The heating element was replaced due to the fact they said it could catch fire. The bottom of the dishwasher is plastic. They replaced the heating element with the same kind of element that was there. How could that be any safer if the bottom is still plastic? I have children in the house; I feel this is a dangerous situation. I am dissatisfied with GE. This is the third dishwasher with the same problem in a matter of 5 years.

Model GLD5660V00SS - seems to be an entry-level dishwasher compared to others I have used/had in the past. It is rather small inside - usually have to run it every day or every other day for just two of us. It is plastic inside and the wheels have already come off a couple of times even though Ive only been using it since July. Having said that, it does a decent job cleaning and is easy to load. The outside with the stainless panel is attractive and the controls are easy to use. It has a large, removable silverware bin that keeps silverware from nesting. However, the holes are not large enough for the knives to fit in properly. The tops are removable, so I can just put them in another section.

I purchased my GE Microwave about a year and a half ago. It has served me with flying colors till yesterday. To explain, I was boiling a small plastic pan of water for some rice. I have done this many times in the past. In the middle of the cooking cycle I heard a loud bang from the microwave. I stopped the cooking cycle and opened the door. To my surprise the glass turntable had shattered into several pieces. I cleaned out all the broken glass and tested the microwave. It seems to be working perfectly with the exception of the glass turntable. A new one was ordered. No further action is required. This is just an information for GE.

GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days
GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days ago, our GE Cafe Series dishwasher nearly caused a fire. If I had not been home that day, it surely would have. I ran the dishwasher as usual and went about my day several hours later. I detected a strange acrid smell and with my five-year-old who was ill and at home that day, discovered the dishwasher door was burning hot to the touch. I needed a potholder to open the door. Once opened, there was a blast of heat and smoke. I needed to use oven mitts to protect my hands from the heat to pull the racks out and handle the dishes. The heating element did not deactivate at the end of the cycle. If I had not been at home, the house would have been destroyed as all the plastic items on the top rack in the dishwasher melted. In addition the plastic parts of the lower rack, the wheels and their clips; the silverware holder; covers; the clips that hold the pot tins in place were destroyed, to the point that the majority of our silverware was coated with plastic. The plastic on the lower water dispenser has been demolished; it completely melted more than 50% of the plastic covering on the arm and is charred and burned. We are so lucky to still have a home! The door must be kept open. When the door is closed, the element super heats and presents a major fire hazard. We have noticed that there is a recall for similar models with plastic tubs, but ours has a stainless tub. GE needs to broaden the recall to include all these models. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Our GE Cafe Series dishwasher model #CDW9380N20SS was installed on October 1, 2008. I would not be surprised to find that parts from the recall in April 2008 were also used in the Cafe Series. I have discovered in the few days since the DW units malfunction that there are over 1000 complaints listed with similar, even identical complaints, on multiple internet sites with the same problems.

Adora Microwave - door falling apart: This microwave is supposed to be installed above a range. The materials are not suited to this. The plastic door has disintegrated. We have got through 2 handles. I took the 2nd one off to replace it and the plastic that holds the glass in place just disintegrated onto the floor along with much other plastic parts. Why is the door plastic in the first place if they cannot make it from a heatproof material? Only 4 years old and we are going to have to junk it. When the first handle failed under warranty GE said that it was not covered as it is a plastic part! They finally covered it after a long conversation.

It is in the base counter so I have to reach down to clean it. l havent had a problem with it but when I wiped the inside top I felt bumps and when I looked at the cloth to see what was on it, there was paint on it. Last year in November while we were sitting in our living room and watching TV around 11:00 PM, we first smelled smoke and then noticed fire under the countertop above dishwasher. Luckily, we were awake to put fire out and disconnect dishwasher. This was all stainless steel, top of the line Profile dishwasher, part of our all Profile line. The next day I called GE customer service only to learn that dishwasher was recalled and that we were never informed about it. Very generously, they offered to replace our unit with equal top of the line PDT750SSF0SS. Instead of taking them to cleaners, as my lawyer suggested, I was stupid enough to accept this offer. A week later, dishwasher arrived but straight out of box, the door was damaged and it was full of water for some reason?! Another week passed by and finally this piece of junk was delivered. This December of 2014, just 3 weeks out of 1 year warranty, dishwasher stopped drying dishes. I called customer service and when they learned that I never purchased extended warranty, they told me to hitch hike. They offered me special customer service number which I called, they placed my name on the list, and never called back. This is the worst company I ever had to deal with, the worst products hands down and the most horrible customer service. If you dont take this post seriously and do not run away from GE, I guarantee you will be writing one of these posts, few days after warranty expires. I have reason to believe that these machines are somehow programmed through their computer to stop operating after warranty is out. Monday comes, I am calling DA office and filing claim against this predatory company. BUYERS BE AWARE!!!

Almost immediately after purchasing the GE microwave we started having problems with the circuit board. It is now totally on the blink after only 4 years. This was a high price appliance. Sometimes when setting the timer on 30 seconds, the microwave would still be running and after looking at the timer it would still have 4 or more minutes left to cook. This is a FIRE HAZARD! We have lost food from timer malfunctions. This is a product I would be afraid to purchase. I am wondering why cant there be recalls on these cheaply built defective microwaves since you read of the same malfunctions over and over. GOODBYE GE!

I bought this dishwasher GLDT690TBB-00 on 05/12. Its not even 2 yrs old. I had some minor complaints about how hard it was to fit bowls, how the utensil rack wasnt easily accessible, how long the cycles took, how it had to be vented right after a cycle to keep clean dishes from smelling musty... But I was willing to put up with that. I spent about $700 new. The dishes did come out clean, if I stacked them properly. I only used it when full, about 2x/week, as I am an aging widow & live alone. It stopped functioning a few days ago. Control panel lit up, a little water came in, but no action with spray, etc. Called a local repair company today. They say the control panel is shorted out, and that in turn burned out the motor. The repair cost would have been $524.61. REALLY? Not doing that! Very disgusted. Ill never buy GE again. Last KitchenAid lasted 12 yrs, but as all the repair guys say: They dont make em like they used to! Too many bells & whistles. All I require is clean dishes, and for the appliance to do its job.

Just two years old, the interior paint in my GE Microwave JES1072SHSS started to peel. I called customer service, then emailed, learned that the paint peeling posed no health problem, then, as a gesture of goodwill, given a $75 rebate. I foolishly bought yet the same microwave today (and will return it) as I read here on this site: not only is it unsafe to use a microwave with peeling paint, GE had a class action suit over this very issue and never took responsibility for the health risks to loyal consumers. So it gets returned this week. But PLEASE BEWARE. Gosh, I really bought the goodwill - hook, line and sinker! Then I read all the complaints here - about peeling paint.

Since it could possibly have happened bringing it home, I decided to let it go and went and bought a new one. This one is less than a year old and has the very scary habit of coming on by itself. It has a E4 code indicating a leak. Waiting over a week for serviceman. It always because of covid is the excuse for shabby service.Original review: I have never had such a problem in my life, first you have to phone then its either they put you on hold or transfer you to a voice mail. This is ok service until something serious happens then all of a sudden you dont get any call backs and stall tactics and simply dont listen. My mother bought expensive GE Profile dishwasher with 5 year bumper to bumper warranty that means nothing, I cant get through, tried to send form there no way to send it just a clear button??? Its supposed to be at least in contact within 48 hours to 72 hours. I have given them extra time due to Covid but I BEGINNING TO BELIEVE THAT IS JUST ANOTHER EXCUSE FOR THEIR TARDINESS. Model #JVM1790SK01. High end GE Profile microwave/convection oven. Purchased and installed in 2009. First off the exhaust fan is terrible and is very noisy. The product itself worked well until recently when now the microwave heats intermittently, one time it will come on and heat, next time nothing. The fan runs, but no heating. The truly frustrating part is I need the front venting and no other units have the vents that blow the air outward, all the new units blow the air straight up your cabinets. Certainly a high end unit should last longer than 5 years with only two adults using it now and then. The cost of the service is outrageous and I surely would not use the $100 rebate on another GE product if they do not last any better than this one.

Purchased a control board online (was a GE original part for a lot less than the GE price) but it did not solve the problem. After researching the problem online, I found out that it could be the drain valve. Sure enough, bought one for $14, installed it myself and the dishwasher works like new. Called GE Service to try and get a refund for the service visit ($89), was told that I had 30 days to have the tech come back out at no charge. We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. We purchased a GE microwave/convection oven which developed peeling on the inside top of the microwave. GE contacted me and offered a replacement ($300 toward a shelf model or prorate the microwave/oven). Why would we take $300 replacement when we paid nearly $3000 for this oven???? So we took the prorated one directly from GE. We felt confident that we would not have a repeat of the problem. The oven was manufactured in December 2012. After it was delivered, I noticed a rough area on the turntable; and after the oven began to peel AGAIN on the second oven, I believe that the rough area was due to a remanufactured part on the oven. Now we are stuck with another microwave/convection oven combo with the same issues as the first oven. I never used anything harsh to clean the oven and now this happens again. Why cannot this company manufacture an oven that will not have defects in it??? I am tired of peeling paint on a second oven when I have done nothing except pay them for 2 ovens. Why cannot they use stainless steel interiors, and this would stop the many complaints that people make about the product. I would NEVER again purchase another product from this company. The products I have purchased have been inferior. I paid for two microwave/convection ovens and still have one that is inferior!!!!

After many searches trying to do due diligence, we bought a GE dishwasher online Nov 2014. It was delivered and installed two weeks later. The day (Saturday) after delivery we loaded it and started the cycle; water went in, the circulation pump started and then the machine stalled. The machine was reset pumped out, restarted but no further improvement.Called the GE service number and after a 20 minute wait was informed that a request would be placed to a local service company. Monday the local service company (30 miles away) called to inform us they had to reject the service request and that GE would set up another. Three days later GE was called again. They were unaware that the service request was rejected so had not attempted to find someone else. They could not get another company to respond and told us to arrange the service call ourselves, pay the bill and submit it to them.My wife and I are now wanting to return the machine but were informed we would have to go through the local Home Depot. They informed us that we would need to have GE arrange it. GE was called back and informed us that the dishwasher could not be returned as long as it could be repaired which leaves it to their discretion. The process to arrange these things took a long time, many delays and many phone calls back and forth to Home Depot and GE. The calls to GE often took 15 minutes to get someone who would forward the call to the service rep which placed back in another 15 minute queue. Do not believe that Home Depot will take returns. The advertising makes you believe they will take but they do not without GEs RGA which GE is reluctant to provide. Avoid GE. I am not the first to find out that GE warranty (one year) and service is poor and that they are more than willing to wait out the warranty to leave their customers with a possible lemon. Other dishwashers are available with 5 year warranties.

Microwave Oven-Space Saver Model JVM6172DF1WW - This is the same problem that is well documented across the web regarding this POOR General Electric product. I purchased the microwave about 14 months ago and the keypad abruptly stopped working. After checking the electrical circuits from the main box to the device, I determined that the problem is not due to the electrical connection. GE appliance division has been in a poor state for a long time now. The company manufactures this product outside of the U.S., in this case Malaysia, and obviously has a poor quality assurance - quality control plan in place. Couple the production issues with poor customer service and you have a huge, well respected company that is putting out shoddy work.I will be trying to get someone to take responsibility for this problem within General Electric but recognize that any success in that respect is a long shot. My message to other consumers is succinct and to the point - DO NOT purchase this product with your hard earned dollars. Go with another brand with a company that stands behind its products and wants to keep the customer coming back for more. GENERAL ELECTRIC is not one of those companies.

They sent a tech out & it only shut off but no arcing sound or intermittent starting & stopping. Tech stated it probably was door micro switch, but when GE called me back they said he stated it probably was circuit board. First, as a new homeowner blessed with select builder-provided appliances, I never imagined I would be authoring this letter 4 months after closing on the new home. Your friggin’ microwave oven light mechanism truly sucks! I lost the two bulbs a week or so ago and purchased two more at the cost of approximately $10, even though a one-year warranty was stated. That was okay, as I was more interested in fixing the problem versus starting some long-range purchase interest. So, and this is the most aggravating aspect, I have the correct pins and life is ** good, and as I attempt to insert the first, the ** pin breaks off. Okay, so I reflect on the horrific engineering of the mechanism, and I softly” align the second of the two bulbs, and the ** pin breaks off again. ** is my predominant theme tonight. As well, believe me, I am going to inform Taylor-Morrison that their respective selection of your friggin’ lousy pieces of crap is corrupt and misguided. You suck, G.E.! I’m moving forward.

A few years ago, I purchased a brand new GE microwave oven. A week ago the microwave oven stopped working. I contacted an Appliance Repair company for repair. When the tech came & disassembled the microwave oven, he discovered pliers inside the oven. We took pictures of it (BTW, it wasnt the cause of the problem). I contacted GE to alert them of this & they told me that the robots that assembled the microwave oven probably dropped it in there. Then they said they will send a tech to my residence to investigate. I told them that the pliers was removed & the microwave oven is fixed & assembled. Nonetheless they sent a tech anyway. I told the tech what his Customer Service said & he said he wasnt surprised about the tool being inside an appliance from GE & GEs response. In summary, I would not recommend purchasing any GE products. They proved their products are a safety hazard & they dont care about the consumer nor their safety. All they care about is taking your $$$.

Purchased a GE 650 dishwasher which we quickly discovered has terrible racking for North American dishware. Also the control panel is overly complicated yet limited to use (always flashes settings even when not in use). Once you figure out how to load dishes into the very tight/ narrow tines they fall over and chip/break. When investigating the dishwashers by GE made in China/Taiwan etc all have same issue. The ones made in USA by GE have wider and longer tines. We have had MANY dishwashers over the 40 years and NEVER had one as bad as this. When calling GE customer service the senior rep was not willing to offer any customer satisfaction as nothing technically was wrong. At one point she stated we had made the purchase so live with it even though it was the wrong choice. We offered to pay for any cost difference, etc. When questioned about GEs interest in customer satisfaction she stated that was not a warranty issue. She was not concerned about a satisfied customer. With that, we will not be purchasing another GE product or its affiliates. What a waste of money.

I also bought a counter top GE microwave oven model jes1451dn1bb that turned itself on and then stated a vegetable sensor error. I did not trust it after this and when I plugged it back in, it stated a keyboard short had occurred and that I may need service. What I need is a non-GE microwave oven that works longer than 18 months. Prior to this machine, I had bought the same model back in 2003 and the same thing happened; The machine turned itself on and stated a popcorn sensor failed. This was back years ago and I complained to GE but never heard from them. This problem has been going on for years and they do not give a ** about the consumer who lives with this machine. I complained tonight about my second microwave and unless a miracle happens, I will never buy another GE product again in my life!

I had a problem with my GE Profile Dishwasher that I had for several years
I had a problem with my GE Profile Dishwasher that I had for several years and I had it on factory warranty. However, the last time they came to repair, they did not have parts available to fix anymore. So, they recommended new one. I worked with Consumer dept and made arrangements to replace with one they recommended at $500+. After several efforts to get it delivered, it was and we began using. It is not a Profile like my old one and it does not have the additional washing, rinsing and drying cycles as the Profile. It is a flat out bottom line washer. No, sani clean etc.. We have used the machine about 4 times and each time we have to rewash several of the dishes and especially the silverware. This is the most disgusting piece of equipment I have ever used. My home is loaded with GE products from years ago, mostly the Profile series and I have been delighted with the products and service. This machine is a disaster. I cannot believe that GE has this on the market or maybe this is a machine they use to satisfy customers who may threaten to use someone elses. It was not free, as I say it cost over $500. The stores and onlines advertise better machines on sale for less. I have GE stock which I will sell. They are going down on Quality. Consequences: Stuck with poor machine that does not do job that I paid good money for. Really, GE, get yourself together. Product Model:GDF510PSD1SS.

I guess my GE Profile dishwasher is a lemon. Sounds like it from all the other reviews. Same deal - purchased it in July of 2016 and by October 2016 it went out. Technician that was sent told me it was the electric and I needed to have an electrician fix the fuse. Electrician came out and said it had electric, that it was the dishwasher that failed. Next technician fixed it and said the electronic panels get confused. Three days off of work. December, 2016 the dishwasher failed again. Had no dishwasher throughout the holidays. They scheduled service technician and then cancelled because the one technician they had was out sick.Today, January 9th, they called to let us know they were on the way, but never called the number they were supposed to, so now we are totally taken off the schedule. Ive been on hold and disconnected three times and now have been on hold for one hour and 6 minutes. DONT BUY GE APPLIANCES - Terrible service and crappy appliances that dont work. This is really sickening since I have ALWAYS used GE appliances.

We purchased a new home in 2014 with all new GE appliances. The dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes. I have to wash the dishes before I load them in the dishwasher. I might as well use the dishwasher as a drying rack. We had a service person come out before the warranty expired. We have used all of the proper cleaning recommendations and setting per the service person. Not even 2 years later, the dishwasher started leaking and ruining our hardwoods. The dishwasher was quiet but then started making a horrible noise and a burning smell emanated when door was opened. Unfortunately all of our kitchen appliances are GE. If we replace any of the appliances, they will not be GE. I will also be getting in touch with the builder of our home to let them know that GE appliances are not reliable. GE needs to recall this dishwasher.

We bought a GE cafe series microwave (model/serial number: pnm919sf1ss/gd235771b) and 4 months later it ceased to function. We just had a remodel and for the first time had an expensive, over the oven microwave and were very excited. Unfortunately, unlike the 2 cheap microwaves weve purchased in the last 36 years, this one we had used for 3 months total, developed problems. The motor seemed to surge and then it would go off. Half an hour later it came back on but would only work for about 5 minutes at a time. I called GE and they arranged for a local company to come take a look. They insisted on a 4 hour window and fortunately my husband is retired so he could be there. The repairman came and didnt have a clue as to what was wrong. He called his boss who talked him through diagnostics. After an hour he left, saying hed be back in a week with some new parts. Again we had to wait the 4 hour window. He came in and we were on pins and needles hoping he wouldnt scratch our cabinets as he took the unit down. He replaced the microwave component and when he left it worked. Two days later it again died. I called the repair people and they told me I had to call GE to get permission for another attempt at repair. I called GE and they said I had to call customer service to file a report. They told me I had to make an appointment for a technician to come out to see if the microwave could be repaired. Really??? The technician would try to repair it again or decide it couldnt be repaired and needed to be replaced. Like we have nothing better to do than wait for these repair people who have no clue as to how to repair the microwave. Every time they take down the microwave they risk ruining our cabinets. It was so unhelpful. I am really disappointed in GE customer service. We had to go out and buy a microwave to use while we were waiting for the repair. They obviously dont care that we cant use their expensive product. Our replacement microwave was $40 from Walmart and works beautifully. We finally complained to our WONDERFUL contractor who originally purchased the microwave for us and he is replacing it with a new one. He was appalled by GEs treatment. He takes note of appliances that are crap so he can warn customers. I thought I was buying from a reputable company and thinking we were getting a great and special product. Too bad.

GE brags about employing its own service technicians yet, when I called to schedule an appointment to fix our Advantium 120 microwave (3 years old), they told me that unless I provided proof of purchase to the technician, he would charge me even for parts under warranty such as the magnetron tube. This in spite of the fact that they have all the purchase information at their fingertips, as I reported when we registered our purchase. They even told me our date of purchase, had our address, email address, etc. They dismissed my suggestion that an email from them to me that I could show the technician should suffice. After 3 years and severe family health issues, I have sadly misplaced the proof of purchase, not realizing that registering the appliance for warranty provided no real benefit; not even proof that I didnt steal the thing. I am saddened that a company of the former stature of GE would stoop so low to avoid a legitimate warranty repair.

There needs to be a control on the inside of door where you can turn the lock button. Im writing this so others wont buy this model as they will be thoroughly dissatisfied. I bought a brand new GE Spacesaver OTR mount Microwave (Model # jnm1851dmbb) and had installed in my new home by the appliance shop where I purchased it in November, 2010. I am a widow and I use the microwave maybe 3-4 times per week, and take very good care of it. I went to steam some fresh veggies this evening and the whole unit just went dead. There’s no fan, light, or keypad. It is plugged in and I did not blow a fuse or switch. I checked them all. It’s just plain broken after less than 2 years of very light use. It’s a piece of junk! I’ll be buying another brand this time. I will never buy a GE again! It’s a junk, junk and junk!

GLD6560L00SS. My dishwasher (Model number:GLD6560L00SS) was producing large amounts of smoke through the face panel. It filled my kitchen with smoke and produced a strong smell. I contacted GE and they sent a service repairman out and he took a look. He said this problem is very uncommon with this specific unit and he has never seen something like this. After he removed the front panel, we were welcomed by a burnt/charcoal black face-plate. There was an internal fire in the machine. To fast forward I have been working with GE the last 3 weeks and they have offered to cover 50% off a new unit. I cannot afford this even with a discount and they will not cover the cost of a replacement. This problem could have been much worse if I was not home. The house very well could have started on fire. We normally set the unit at night and go to bed... Thank god this was a different day. This kind of thing is unexceptionable and the fact that they will not cover.

I bought a GE dishwasher model #GDF570SSJSS from Sears. It was delivered on Thursday, installed Friday (by myself and a daughter) and the first test run produced nasty, dirty dishes. It took 2 hours and 10 minutes for it to declare that the cycle was finished and the dishes were clean. Fortunately I did not opt for the drying cycle. Or else the nasty crud would have been baked on. I called GE service and they scheduled a Monday service call. Monday, a very nice man hooked the unit up to his computer and found nothing wrong. He then placed a plexiglass door on the unit so he could watch the cycle. He found that the connection to the upper arm was not attached. He snapped it into place and declared that it was fixed. While I watched through the plexiglass door I was appalled that the reason that the GE dishwashers are so quiet is that the washing spray is extremely gentle. The technician seemed very proud of how quiet the units are. I told him that I could get my dishes cleaner if I spread them on the lawn and used a water hose sprayer. He was not amused. I chatted with him and asked several questions and learned some interesting facts. The lower and upper spray arms and the top rain action do not all happen at once. First the lower arm sprays, the machine pauses, then the upper arm sprays, the machine pauses, then the top rain action happens. This cycles over and over until the machine thinks the dishes are clean. I asked why there wasnt a hurricane inside the unit scrubbing my dishes? He said that the motor is a DC motor, I asked how many volts, he said 12.After he left I filled the machine up with dishes I had saved over the weekend for the test. The machine ran for 2 hours + (I forgot to write down the start time). The end result was nasty, dirty dishes that I washed in the sink afterward. So the new dishwasher looks just like the old dishwasher but let me tell you, she is not happy at having the worthless piece of junk sitting nearby and doing nothing while she is sweating over a sink full of dishes. When Im not quite so angry in a few days I will have a conversation with Sears to try to resolve this.

I bought a brand new house and it came with the set of GE profile appliances in 10/2009. In November of this year, it came on for one minute on its own and then popped and indicated a circuit board failure. The inside of the microwave was extremely hot and there was obviously an electrical short. This could have burned down my house! My fiance replaced the circuit board at a cost of $125. I negotiated from the service department that supplied all my builders appliances. This week it happened again. This time, there was a cup of coffee in the microwave and it boiled in the minute before the microwave fried itself! I cant believe that GE still has this product on the market! Any product on the market! I have to replace this because I cant sleep thinking its going to catch my house on fire. Are there no ethics anywhere?

From these posts, Ive seen people saying that they couldnt trust GE American-made anymore. Our microwave oven was made in Malaysia, but GEs home office appears to be in Louisville, Kentucky. Our problem: peeling paint on the door and upper part of our 2009 GE #JES1451DN1WW oven. As a cancer survivor of 8 years, my antenna goes up with any defaults such as this. Currently they say he is going to come by on Tues and check to see which part to order next and then they will come back and work on the dishwasher when the part comes in. Two years ago, after owning a GE JVM1490 microwave-convection oven (over the stove) for three years, the door handle broke.Let me clarify that I worked for GE first as an engineer, later as manager, for 20 years including 6 in Major Appliances. I am ashamed of what I am reading how GE is treating customers today.I am perfectly capable of replacing the handle myself if I am provided the complete and correct assembly drawings and/or instructions. GE refused to provide me anything when I requested them. The scant drawings and instructions I found online are insufficient. As a matter of fact, the design is so poor that removing the internal bezel, which you must do to reach the handle fasteners, forces you to break the mounting tabs, requiring replacement of this part plus the handle. This was confirmed by the parts store I visited. However, even after removing the bezel, neither I nor another ex-GE appliance engineer could figure out the access to the fasteners. I have glued the handle three times using epoxy and Cyanoacrylate (super glue), but it has broken off a fourth time. I will figure out a way of fixing it before I pay GE close to $100 for both the handle and bezel. And if I replace the appliance, you can be sure it will not be GE.GE should be ashamed of the poor design and deplorable customer service they are giving now. How things have changed! My suggestion is that all with this problem post name and phone number of GE customer service personnel they spoke with.
