In early 2017, we bought all of our GE Profile appliances including the dishwasher through our builder as part of building a new home. Love the slate exterior. Love the whisper quiet of the appliance. I do NOT like the way it cleans my dishes. Most of the time, the soap isnt even distributed. The soap compartment is opened but most of the soap is still there. Ive followed the instructions on loading to ensure my dishes arent blocking the water that is supposed to spray up and help distribute soap. Even though I select the dry function, my dishes are sopping wet when the cycle is finished. We have to catch the end of cycle and crack the dishwasher open to let the steam escape in order to cut down on the wet. Even then, we still have to dry dishes to put them up. We have a water softener and have verified its working so I know thats not causing these issues. I would not recommend this dishwasher.

I purchased a GE Profile dishwasher in June 2015. It was delivered dented.19 July it was replaced. The dishwasher worked for 3 months. Then it stopped working and the display panel had a LEAK DETECTED, DO NOT USE, notification. We contacted GE who could not find a GE repair technician to come and repair it in the entire BAY AREA. The dishwasher was bought at SEARS who refuses to take any responsibility.

GE microwave turns on by itself, creating a fire hazard. We could not figure out how our plastic plates melted, until we witnessed the GE microwave turning itself on by itself. Also filed a report with saferproducts.gov. It may have to take a death of a human to have this dangerous product recalled by GE. Great business plan, GE!

I have had a few cheap microwaves but at this point in my life I wanted to buy a good quality microwave that would last. Well I bought a 200 dollar GE microwave in February. 3 months later it went out on me. I did hard and soft reset numerous times with no success. They offered me a discounted check to replace it and it would take 4-6s weeks to receive. Instead we returned to place of purchase and they gave us a floor model to replace it. All was well for 2 months when lo and behold this one started doing the same thing. No amount of resetting would make it run. It went out cooking corn on the cob. Why is this so hard to keep running? Their response this time was a goodwill rebate certificate to purchase only a GE microwave. Why in heavens name would I want another one? It only lasts a couple of months and who is to say the 3rd replacement will not be the same.

I own a GE counter-top sensor microwave oven model #JES1451, which was only 2 years old. At 3:00AM, I woke to a room full of smoke and a burning plastic smell. I immediately rushed to the source which was my microwave oven. It was going by itself and the panel read sensor error with smoke billowing out of it and flames erupting. Luckily, I had a fire extinguisher handy. I had never had any problems with this microwave prior to this experience. I cringe at the thought of what could have happened to my home and my family sleeping upstairs if I hadnt been nearby.

I had my original microwave for 20+ years. I replaced it in 2009 with a GE Model HVM1540DN188. Started beeping in middle of night a week ago, with message keyboard shorted service needed. I unplugged several times and it would start coming on by itself. I cannot believe they dont warranty their shoddy keyboards. I am very angry. I think they should stand by and replace their keyboards free of charge since they are fully aware they are making deficient product. This is scary to have an appliance just start beeping and say shorted... luckily I had my original wired in microwave replaced and put in a plug in or I would have flipped out if I could not unplug it. I got this along with the GE stove... so far the stove is not beeping...

We purchased this dishwasher for our rental. The last dishwasher was over 30 years old and still working but the racks were coming apart so we opted for a new one from Home Depot. A year later our tenants called saying when they used the dishwasher it rained in the basement. Our maintenance man called and said the dishwasher melted a hole in the right side about 1.5 inches by a 1/4 inch. Midway to the heater element. He did a temp fix with silicone.I called GE Recall number and was told it was not on a recall list. I called customer service and was told they would waive the service call. I explained this was a FIRE HAZARD. They insisted all they could do is send their tech out for repair. Since I paid about 280 dollars for the dishwasher I decide a service call would probably run near that and told them NO! I am now sending all information to consumer affairs department with my STATE REPRESENTATIVE. I also am putting the fire hazard info out there on facebook and twitter. I am waiting for someone else to say they also had a fire hazard. This should be on a recall list!

I bought GE Microwave JES1139BL03 in 2011 and the white paint inside has been peeling off. I think it is defective because I have had other brands and none of them have done this. This microwave was manufactured February 2011.

I have no idea how long it has been in this house but I bought the home 11 years ago and it’s still going strong. I do have to clean it on occasion. And I use jet dry with every use. And occasionally do buy a dishwasher cleaner.

My GE microwave works perfectly for microwaving and baking. It is also a convection oven and it works as well for baking as the microwave component does for microwaving. It is roomy and accommodating. Ive had the microwave for 10 years and have never had a problem with it.

We have a five-year old GE Profile Microwave that has an LCD panel. It is a nice feature, but it has become unresponsive to touch and now will cost us $500 to replace the LCD panel. We will just buy a KitchenAid instead. The LCD panel is not sealed, so when you cook, even using the exhaust fan, the moisture gets up in there and damages the panel. This is such a terrible design. We paid $600 for this microwave thinking it is a good quality appliance. Never buy GE! I was in Best Buy yesterday and told people who were there looking at microwaves. Terrible quality! We have to purchase a whole new microwave hood range now.

Bought the whole GE profile kitchen series 2 years ago. Last week the microwave went dark, blew a component, and is dead. With only two people using it off and on for reheating, hardly got our money worth. Called GE for assistance and went back to the store where it was purchased. No one offered any financial assistance with the loss. The microwave itself was $500. My husband and I are very disappointed in the product and service.

We built our house and purchased a NEW close out Advantium Microwave. Due to delays we were not able to get into the house and use the appliance until literally 1 month after the WTY expired. The KEYPAD is shorted. There are a number of these complaints for this microwave - so we arranged for service. $375 dollars later - it was ALMOST working and the repair service determined that a new keyboard would be needed. 5 mos later we are kindly asked to take a refund of our repair bill and forget the whole thing - the part is not available! Purchased this item online and received delivery on 2/13/15 from P.C Richards. In less than a month after installation of the JVM7195SFSS microwave range oven the keypad stop working making it a useless tool taking space in my kitchen. Ive made more than 4 schedules for repair service. Its now May 15 Ive yet to see a repair person. Here are some of GEs lies for the past three months: GE parts were in back order; the service person claimed I wasnt home; I didnt pick up the phone. Even an appointment on my Sabbath was botched by the service person. While homebound recovering from surgery I called PC Richard who scheduled another service on 5/14/15 between 1-5pm. Still a no show. Yet PC Richards representative stated that the service person claimed that I wasnt home. The next morning 5/15/15 11:40am a service specialist named ** at ** extension ** calls stating the repairman is sick. Im confused! On what date was my repair? How do I get rid of this product installed in my kitchen wall? How do I get my money back? How do I make PC Richards and/or GE complete the repairs without losing a work day for foolishness or forsaking my Sabbath day again?

Bought at Lowes (GE Slate GDT655SMJES Dishwasher). Even bought the extended warranty. Leaked and buckled the floor while it was under GE warranty on December 12. Had to file with our homeowners insurance to get entire floor replaced, $1000 deductible, twice. They have been out 5 times and still not fixed. Now the new flooring is damaged from same leak. After nearly $5,000 of damages, not to mention the time we have spent you would think a new $700 dishwasher would be cheaper. We bought the refrigerator, double oven, convection stove and dishwasher, matching. At this point seriously considering buying a different brand of dishwasher even though it wont match the slate. Never will we buy GE again, they dont stand behind their product, disappointed in Lowes as well for passing the buck.

I purchased a GDF520PGJ dishwasher from Home Depot and it still doesnt work. Home Depot has no return policy and G.E. has been unable to resolve. I have written to GE Appliances Consumer Relations for a replacement but pending another service call. Its unfortunate that there is no recourse with Home Depot as was advised that I need to work with GE for the first year warranty yet my dishwasher hasnt worked for the past month. Buyer beware.

Our GE microwave does all the things you would expect from a basic microwave. It cooks vegetables, reheats leftovers and warms coffee. It looks nice on our counter. Do I think it is worth the money we paid for it, NO.

My 5 years old over the range GE Microwave Oven in my old house had a keypad malfunction. I replaced that oven with a different brand. This time, my 2 years old GE profile microwave in my new house has the same keypad shorted like other users posted. I was hesitating to buy this brand at the time. But the look and match with other appliances, plus the good deal from vendor, I gave it another try. I made a terrible mistake. No more GE appliances for me.

Unit is only 7 years old and not greatly used (only two adults who dont use it much)… Purchased as part of package including GE refrigerator, range and dishwasher (already got rid of refrigerator, as parts kept breaking and unit had other chronic problems). I turned the microwave on to make popcorn - it immediately made a terrible noise and filled with smoke with an electrical smell. Unplugged the unit and contacted GE Repair. When I described what happened, I was transferred immediately to their safety unit because of the nature of the problem. A GE technician arrived today and almost immediately diagnosed the problem: a metal component that directs the waves of the microwave generation tube had burned out, and by federal regulation, he claimed, cannot be repaired - the whole appliance must be trashed and replaced. Once again, I have experienced GEs poorly engineered products that appear to be designed to fail in a relatively short time. Can you spell planned obsolescence? (No photo provided, as there is no external visual damage).

We have GE Profile Quietpower 6 Dishwasher. We are the second owners of the home and did not buy it ourselves. But the dishwasher is no more than 3 years old. Our dishwasher also refused to turn off after it was done washing dishes, usually humming for hours afterward. One day, we came home and found that the whole house smelt of burnt plastic. Our dishwasher was burning hot and full of burnt plastic. It was off, so we unplugged it to make sure it would cool down. We dont expect any help from GE, but we will never buy GE ourselves. And we will make sure to tell our friends to never buy GE.

Sometimes there are dishwashing detergent (powder) left on the dishes. Nothing extra, very basic, it has regular or pot scrubber cycles, air dry or heat dry, a slot for dry rinse liquid, detergent slot, short wash cycle, upper rack, lower rack and flatware basket. Came with the house purchased 17+ years ago. White body with black upper control panel the entire width of the dishwasher. It is still in very good condition, but then I take care of everything, always rinse everything before placing them in the dishwasher. Never needed service yet.

My GE Profile Dishwasher was serviced 2 years ago for a faulty electronic control pad. It made starting the dishwasher a complete gamble, you never knew when it would actually turn on. I paid a couple hundred dollars to fix this problem 2 years ago and of course it has stopped working once again. So frustrating! GE decides to replace one bad part for another bad part. I then asked for the service call to be covered since it was obviously the same problem but they refused. So, GE am I to keep paying $89 for service fees so that you can keep replacing one faulty part for another? STAND BY YOUR PRODUCT!

I will NEVER buy another GE product. They were not helpful over the phone when I explained to them about the paint peeling on the inside of my microwave. Its only 4 years old & should not be doing this.

The brand performs wonderful. We enjoying. Also, has great features for cost. We have done several items in it and all come out great. Have not had any issues at all. I would recommend this brand and model. I would purchase similar item again.

Model gdt580sgfbb - About 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the dishwasher stopped filling with water. So, our friend replaced the water inlet valve. No change. If you pour water into it, it kinda pushed it around, but empties it out, wont refill, and starts whining. Then, if you open it, and turn it off, and re -shut it, it starts itself back up again! What?! This stupid thing is essentially brand New! To be truthful, it has never cleaned very well, leaving residue on dishes, and NEVER getting dishes dry. I regret buying this item! And its still not fixed. I will not buy another GE appliance.

I have an above range GE Microwave - it is not even 2 years old and it is done. I noticed the past few months it was not heating properly - it needed more time. This week it just blew out! NO more GE Microwaves. I have a refrigerator and I am wondering how long that will last. Thank you!

Our new GE dishwasher is a disappointment. 1. There is water on the door after the dishes wash. 2. There is soap on the door after the dishes wash. 3. The silverware is often dirty after the dishes wash.I have observed the following: 1. The reason for the water is the silverware trays are made of plastic and do not dry. They should make them of coated wire like they used to. 2. The soap tray is often prevented from opening all the way by the silverware in the rack. They should re-design the bottom rack. 3. The silverware tray is too enclosed for good cleaning. It should be made of coated wire like they used to.

My microwave is a very easy to use. The settings are not complicated and offers a variety of options. It has a shelf and turntable that can be shut off and on. The filters are very easy to access and clean.

I bought a whole line of GE Monogram appliances for our home in late 2005. These appliances are not even seven years old and I have had the side-by-side fridge repaired several times with no true fix to the problem. They charged me to repair the tank in the fridge that the water line leads out from and into the freezer door. Another repair man said that was never the problem and that the seal on the freezer door is broken from inside the door (a common problem) and freezes up the water line, so no filtered water comes out. They wanted to charge me $800 for a new door with no guarantee that it won’t happen again!My cook-top downdraft has shorted out three times because of a faulty design issue. Water and moisture can get up under the switch, which shorts it out. There were three different repairs for the same issue. Last time the same service man repaired the problem and he was so careless. He got silicone all over the granite counters and switch, which he didnt check before leaving! I called him back to my house before he even got out of the neighborhood. Ultimately, he admitted he screwed up and ordered me yet another switch. Now, just today, my Monogram dishwasher started billowing black smoke. I called GE to find that the unit has been recalled for electrical shock and fires. They said I could have it repaired (if the service man deems it repairable) or it’s $400 towards a new unit. Is this company for real? How many consumers do they have to lose before they wake up? If I werent home my house could have burnt to the ground or, worse, one of our kids or us could have been severely hurt or worse. Do they not realize the liability they would have at that point if the worst would have happened? And they have two phone numbers and my address on file. Why on earth would they not contact me to tell me of the recall? Are they holding their breath and crossing their fingers that nothing too bad will happen? I have a Whirlpool fridge/freezer that is 18 years old and in my garage; nevertheless, it has never given me an ounce of trouble. I will never buy another GE appliance again and will tell anyone I know the same, including the several new home builders I work with. There are too many other companies out there that will back up their quality products. I have called into GE on my latest problems. And if I dont get satisfaction (i.e., brand new units), I have no issues contacting the attorney general. There are forms online that can be downloaded so a formal complaint can be filed. I urge anyone else to do the same.

I purchased this dishwasher (GE Dishwasher Model # PDWT180RSS) at the beginning of March and it has been nothing but a disappointment and inconvenience. Nothing gets clean. It has been serviced 5 times and I have a case # with GE. They have serviced the jets, used 3 different kinds of dish soap, checked the water pressure, temperature, and drain and still it does not work right! What a hunk of junk. Dont buy GE products.

Our GE Cafe Appliance package is less than 1year old and the convection/microwave door handle is wrinkling and peeling. I realize that weight may be a concern hence the plastic vs. metal handle due to the side hinge of micro but aluminum or other light metal would have made more sense. A service tech is coming out next week to replace the in warranty handle however this cost will be our responsible next year when this happens again. A light metal retrofit/recall seems to be the logical solution to remain customer centric and maintain GE loyalty. How this material choice error is handled by GE to ensure this problem does not repeat during the life of this appliance defines brand loyalty. Thank you for your consideration.

Cost of washer $749.95 plus 4-yr warranty, install and hoses, $273 equals $1,023 for this GE stainless interior tall tub dishwasher GLD8700N20BB that only lasted 6 years and 4 months. It wont run, wont fill with water, nothing. Six years. Time to buy again. My advice, buy a cheap one and replace it every 36 months and forget the extended warranty. Installed: Sept. 2009. Dead: Jan. 2016. This was a replacement to an LG dishwasher that completely flooded my kitchen and caused a total tear out of my kitchen, and my homeowners insurance took LG to court. That LG cost $42,000 for a new kitchen and months of contractors and work. Washing dishes by hand is looking better every day... Think about it.

Our GE microwave is 20 years old and still works great! Still looks pretty good too!! We do have a small crack and the start button is worn, however, we use it several times daily. Would definitely buy this brand again.

I live in a condominium building with approximately 105 units. We all had the same GE microwave installed in our units approximately five years ago (contractor-installed). I sent out a mass email to all of the owners to ask if they were having the same problems I was having my microwave, which was the touch panel will not accept commands. I received approximately 15 complaints from various homeowners with the same complaint.When I called GE to tell them the problem I was having with my microwave, they told me a technician would have to come out and diagnose the problem. The service call would be $99.95, and at that time the technician would let me know what the problem was and tell me the charge for the replacement part and labor cost. I told GE Customer Service that there were many people in my condo building who were having the same problem and I wanted to know why each homeowner should have to pay the initial $99.95 service call fee? The response was, That is our policy. To placate me, GE customer service said they would charge me the initial fee but I would receive a 25% discount for parts and labor.In the meantime, two or three other homeowners made service call appointments for their microwave oven with GE. One homeowner was given a fee for parts and labor, which would have been only slightly less than buying a new microwave and another homeowner was not given a labor cost. In both cases, the homeowners did not go forth with their repairs, because buying a new microwave was more cost effective.I want Consumer Affairs to know GE grossly mishandled this malfunction issue amongst a group of homeowners who own the same microwave. Secondly, I realize the microwave ovens are five years old, but GE should have some record regarding failing parts along with the life cycle of this product. Lastly, I want GE to be held accountable for not telling consumers a repair cost for certain issues. There should be a cost per hour, not cost per broken item.I kept records of all correspondence amongst the homeowners of my condominium building, so I will be of great assistance if you need further help from me. I purchased a GE dishwasher 1.5 years ago and it has been nothing but a problem since day one! The door will not stay latched and the dishwasher is perfectly level. You might get 1 or 2 washes in before you have to work on it again. We bought a set of appliances from GE and the stove and refrigerator have worked well. However this dishwasher is junk and I based on my experience I would not recommend this product to anyone!

I needed a microwave, and researched a lot of brands, some the buttons quit working, others sparked. Found this GE on sale at Lowes about 4 years ago for $29.00 and so far I am very happy with it. I must admit it is a little big, but it works beautifully. It does fit on the counter, so for its size and the price it is a great deal!!!

Wow, Donna from NJ, I could have written your dishwasher report! But since I didnt, I have never been so disappointed in an appliance purchase as my new GE dishwasher! Not only are some of the dishes & silverware coming out more dirty than they went in, it takes a ridiculously long time for a cycle. And if there are more than a couple of tablespoons of water on the door, it will pee out onto the floor when the door is closed! Not to mention that there is junk stuck to the floor just inside dishwasher, under the door, after the cycle has run! Yet the worst part is how dirty dishes are after even a Sani Wash cycle! Sometimes, the detergent lid is still closed. Sometimes its open, but the detergent is still there. Even then, dishes may be cleaner in appearance that time, than when the detergent is gone. A water glass, may have gritty stuff - not just detergent stuck and hiding down inside, or more obvious all over inside the glass. I have spent the past year experimenting with various things: detergents, amounts of detergents, arrangements of dishes, heat of water, pressure of water, rinsing dishes before cycle, etc. Glass and pottery normally fare better than plastics, but again the plastic may have started cleaner than they come out! The dealer has been out three times, finding nothing obvious the DW itself, nor anything I have done wrong. He has been told there is a kit that would fix the performance problem, but he cant purchase it, nor can his distributor. I have been told the length of cycle is because our government regulates the amount of water used. So my question is, then its okay to use more electricity?! Its totally embarrassing to serve someone a drink in a glass that is found not clean near the end of the drink! And I, too, have an old 12-years-dishwasher that still works! It was even a cheaper brand. I never had to think where pieces were arranged in that dishwasher. I just thought, in my newly built house, I should have new appliances!

The flat, firm-press keypad for microwaves just seems dated. Often they get worn out. However, all in all, it does what a microwave is supposed to do and does so efficiently. It’s not the most attractive microwave though.

We have had this microwave GE JVM1631wb007 (2003) for a number of years installed above our stove. It was given to us by my husbands son so we did not have it registered with GE as owning it. However, I just sent an email to GE today asking for help as I find absolutely nothing on the internet about a scorched outside microwave door. We have had no issues with it whatsoever - until now. When we returned home from a one week vacation this past Sunday evening, we came home to a scorched OUTSIDE door on this microwave! The inside is fine. The two people who came into the house while we were gone said they did not use it but it is DEFINITELY scorched around the entire area on the outside around the screen area. I refuse to use it although my husband (who is an appliance repairman but does NOT work on microwaves) says its fine to use. Its not only hideous, it LOOKS unsafe to use. Im scared its going to catch on fire but my husband says dont worry and go ahead and use it! Im attaching a pic of it... Anyone else heard of this? Its not like we dont have the money to replace it. Im NOT going to touch the thing... You cant tell him anything. He thinks its fine. I need PROOF that this is dangerous to convince him... Please help before the house burns down!

Don’t know the exact model type but it’s a built-in unit as opposed to a counter top type unit. It’s installed on top of a GE oven. Have had no issues whatsoever since purchasing the house in 2008. Barely no maintenance required aside from the normal cleaning of the inside of it and even that is pretty easy.

I just remodeled my kitchen back in May of 2012. My wife and I started looking for the appliances and we decided to get the GE Cafe series set (dishwasher, cooktop, electric oven and microwave). Our microwave oven, model CVM1790SS1SS, developed a humming noise as soon as you closed the door. It does sound like the magnetron is on. To verify that, I filled a cup with cold water and I put it inside and closed the door without setting any cooking time. After three minutes, the water was too hot to touch. I called GE and told them that it was a fire hazard.They sent one of their technicians and he determined that it was not a fire hazard and if I wanted it fixed, I have to pay for it. How could he say its not? If I close the door, the oven is going to continue heating up until it burns itself and everything else around it. I am pissed at GE because this unit is barely one year old and expensive. This is a safety hazard and GE failed to acknowledge. Bottom line, Ill never buy GE again and will not recommend it to anyone.

One needs to be a contortionist to replace the under light bulbs on this microwave. It is a TERRIBLE design. Why werent the sockets placed so that the prong holes could be visible? One has to do a back-bend over the stove top and then the socket holes are still not visible. DO NOT BUY THIS MICROWAVE. DONT BUY THE STOVE EITHER. IT IS DANGEROUS. THE KNOBS TURN EASILY AND OPEN THE GAS.

I bought a brand new GE Spacesaver OTR mount Microwave (Model # jnm1851dmbb) and had installed in my new home by the appliance shop where I purchased it in November, 2010. I am a widow and I use the microwave maybe 3-4 times per week, and take very good care of it. I went to steam some fresh veggies this evening and the whole unit just went dead. There’s no fan, light, or keypad. It is plugged in and I did not blow a fuse or switch. I checked them all. It’s just plain broken after less than 2 years of very light use. It’s a piece of junk! I’ll be buying another brand this time. I will never buy a GE again! It’s a junk, junk and junk!

Ive been battling this dishwasher since it arrived 9 years-ago. It was a warranty replacement we were stuck with from GE. Plus, we paid $300. We could never get it to clean dishes, no matter how we loaded it or what we used, so we gave up and hand washed dishes for years. This year, I am committed to getting the dishwasher working because of hand eczema. I took it apart and cleaned the sprayer arms, filter & wiped it down completely. I also ran a dishwasher cleaner through it. I finally got it to clean dishes, but only if they are thoroughly rinsed first and on the Pots/Pans setting. After a month, it stopped cleaning my dishes again. I took apart the dishwasher again, and cleaned everything. Now, glasses on the upper rack in the back are not all getting clean. I never overload it. Im convinced that GE Dishwashers are just junk. Someday, Id love to find a dishwasher that actually works. :-( Frustrated!!!

Have a three-year-old townhouse in New England that came with GE appliances. Within months the microwave needed a new circuit board and, later, the auto open vent is making funny noises when it opens and closes. WORSE: Dishwasher on fritz in third year, requiring a new computer control pad. The cost: $283. American-labeled products produced in other parts of the world are going to cost twice or three times as much before their useful life is over. Shop with care, friends.

Microwave oven, model # WES1450DN1BB, manufacture date, April 2011 - Your customer service sucks! I called there 5 times today and was told my microwave oven has been recalled, yet no one knows! You dont have it listed on the recall or anything. Your Customer Advocate doesnt know its recalled but your Service Department knows and I was told by them that it says, Do not repair, return to the place of purchase. Yet, I called my place of purchase and they know nothing of it either, but are going to work with me the best they can! It was manufactured in April of 2011 and we bought it around July 2011 (we think it was around then). There are many complaints online about the same issues as we are having - paint all bubbled and peeled off the inside top, and smell of burning wires coming from under it! If something would have happened to someone in my family or to my home, you bet your ** I would have sued the pants off of your company! Someone needs to get their ** straight with what is going on in your company or you are going to have a lot of issues! I may bring it to a higher level just because I am so pissed off that no one was informed about this issue, and something very bad could have or still can happen to someone because they are not getting the information they need! This unit was purchased at Lowes on 11/22/16 and installed by our plumber shortly thereafter. Its not even 6 months old! It was poor at drying at first and then stopped drying altogether about a month ago. The GE Customer Service has sent a repairman here on 4 occasions in the past few weeks, sent faulty parts, including an element and a board (Im guessing that they mean a motherboard) but it is still swimming in water. Ive asked them to replace the dishwasher, to which they have refused. Yes we are irate, and rightly so. Whatever happened to quality manufacturing and decent customer service? I will never buy another GE product again. There should be lemon laws for appliances.Now we are being informed that the parts are back ordered until September, but that they might be able to get them from California on or about the 25th. Their apologies mean nothing when they do not back it up by amending the situation in an appropriate manner. By the way it takes 256 minutes for a full cycle. The plus side is that it is very quiet, but Im not sure how energy efficient a dishwasher can be that runs that blasted long. It doesnt clean very well either. If considering the dishwasher or another appliance, stay away from GE Is our recommendation.

Two years ago, I replaced my 25-year-old GE bottom-of-the-line dishwasher because it made a noise like a freight train. I was ecstatically happy to have a brand new top-of-the-line stainless steel GE Profile dishwasher that hardly made a sound while working. Well, that is the best part of the new machine because it also hardly cleans. We have tried different detergents, additives, etc. We have checked our water temp, pressure, etc. Not only does the machine not clean all the silverware/dishes, it doesnt dissolve and remove all of the liquid detergent, so I have to run the machine through another rinse cycle. We are so frustrated in my house that we have finally given up and now hand wash our dishes. I hate this dishwasher and would never buy another GE product again! I also had an issue with a GE bottom freezer fridge. But thats another story. By the way, the old 25-year-old machine? It always got my dishes clean.

Our GE microwave just stopped working after 3 or 4 years. It was manufactured 4 years ago, but I am not exactly sure when we purchased and installed it... It may have sat on the shelf for a year. It is not the touch panel, the lights, timer, clock... They all work. In fact, I can put in a time to cook and push START and the timer will start counting down as if the microwave is cooking, but it is totally silent, no turntable, no noise, no nothing. The new replacement model number is the JVM6175 but I am scared to buy it, as I am so disappointed in GE. All the washers, dryers, microwaves, and refrigerators we have bought over the last 30 years have only lasted 3 to 7 years. The only appliance by GE we have purchased that seems to be still working is the dishwasher. We only used this microwave to heat up coffee or some leftovers. It is not being used to cook big meals or anything like that. GE has just gone downhill, it appears. I think I will just give up on them totally.

GE Triton XL dishwasher overheated for no reason and melted the inside components to the point they are scorched black. This dishwasher is worthless. There would have been a possible home fire if we were not at home at the time of incident.

This GE Model JNM1541 is a 1500 watt, under counter microwave with quite a few features. It has plenty of cooking power and has not failed in its nearly 5 years of use. I have never used the included metal shelf.

As many others have indicated, the paint peels off the interior roof of the GE microwaves, and the area ends up rusting over. GE offers no repair or refund for this. Awful product, poorly built and should be avoided.

It could clean better without pre-cleaning. Its necessary to pre-clean heavily dirty items. Works ok if dishes are just moderately dirty. Could also be quite a bit quieter. However it is about 15 years old and still running but sometimes motor freezes up if not run often.

The jvm3160 series has a known defect in the door interlock electrical system that blows the unit fuse if the door is opened while the mw oven is operating. This usually occurs after the warranty expires. Cost to repair can exceed the original cost of the unit. Mine failed in warranty but it took them 10 weeks to fix it. The reason it took so long is that GEs repair protocol calls replacing the whole door (which has NO electrical parts in it) instead of replacing just the latch assembly because the labor cost to replace the latch itself exceeds the cost of a complete door assembly. Door assemblies were on back-order because of the high failure rate.

I have a GE microwave and was using the exhaust fan on it when it stopped working. I am getting the same message as other folks - KEYPAD SHORTED. I have barely used this product since it is in a vacation home. It looks brand new, but I am really disappointed in it. My cousin told me shes had problems with GE appliances and will never buy another.

I purchased the GE Spacemaker over the range microwave in 2006. It lasted 5 years with little use. It was the magnetron. It seemed to work fine, but wouldnt heat food. GE gave me a hard time to have the part shipped to me and said I would need GE, who charged $99 for just a visit, to install. I will never buy GE again. Products dont last and GE doesnt care to keep customers.

We have a GE Profile Microwave/Oven combo unit. The paint is flaking off inside the microwave. Most of the ceiling paint is gone, and the floor of the microwave is flaking. Because we have a combo microwave and oven, the entire unit must be replaced. Thats around $2400. We cannot match the color, because they dont make bisque appliances any more. GE customer service suggests we replace the microwave with a countertop model, leaving the dead microwave on the wall. This is unacceptable.

Purchased my first GE dishwasher 3 -4 years ago, it died, one month before the warranty ran out, they sent a repairman at no charge, acted like he did not know what he was doing, mumbled something about a part and left saying they would return with a part 2 weeks later he comes back and says that they cannot fix it and they sent me a replacement dishwasher free of charge, 13 months later and it died, So I bought a more expensive GE dishwasher thinking it would last, wrong, 15 months later and its dead, went to parts select and troubleshooted it, ordered all parts recommended to fix the issue and its still dead, these parts cost me 300, so I contacted GE to see what they had to say, no help at all except to only charge me for 50% of parts, I have to pay for house call and labor and installation, gee what a deal NOT bottom line, GE dishwashers are junk, dont buy them.

Fact no. 1: On 02/25/07, I supplanted a burnt-out 12-year old Kenmore microwave oven. Regretfully, my replacement of choice is a GE JES1456WJ02 unit acquired at Home Depot in Cumberland. At that stage, my spouse was afflicted with an advanced case of Parkinsons disease, and eventually, I had her concerned caregiver reporting having found chips of paint spread on food extracted from the new oven. From that point onward, I established a close watch of the infamous appliance, after confirming that the chipping paint originated from the roof of the GE oven. But I withheld from filing a claim with GE at the time because my wifes health deterioration absorbed all my attention.Fact no. 2: But on 12/12/09, a couple of months after my beloved one passed away, I decided to take the oven to a Home Depot claim department where they immediately agreed to replace the defective unit for another one of similar characteristics. With a sigh of relief, thinking that I had taken care of the problem, my assumption was incorrect.Fact no. 3: Today, 10/28/11 in fact, I discovered chips of paint floating over a plate of soup extracted from the GE oven. I was aghast! I couldnt believe it! Still, further inspection determined that the lousy internal coat of paint is likewise peeling off from this monstrosity appliance manufactured by GE.

After one repair to my 9 year old microwave we decided to replace it. I am so sorry I did! The old microwave had a stainless steel kit and was made with quality. The replacement is a piece of junk! The outer kit is plastic and shows fingerprints like crazy as well as the microwave itself! Im always wiping it off. The flimsy door button is impossible to open without pushing it ten times in the right spot! The door doesnt close easily either! The front of the microwave is warped and wavy! I hate it! The quality of your microwaves has dropped to zero!

Updated on 12/30/2018: Again had GE up, said it was not the pump as they stated. Hired a plumber as they requested, pipe not blocked. Changed connections and now the machine has no power. Again have to call for repair. I am sure they will have to order a part or tell me to call an electrician. I am so done. Please beware. Do not buy. Still not been able to use my dishwasher going on 4 weeks and brand new.Original Review: Purchased from Home Depot. I have had it for only one month used 4 times. The water did not drain. Called GE Repair. Guy came down, couldn’t figure out what was going on, said it must be the pump or it could be blocked. He went downstairs, could not find the pipe. Been there since 69...said he is going to order part. Waited 1 week. Then he calls me an hour before he was to be here. Mind you I took off work to be there. He said, “Did you have plumber to come in to see if there is a blockage and he needs to show you where the connection is?” Are you kidding me. I told him I am handicapped and having company for Christmas and I need it. He said he can’t come until I hire a plumber as he can’t find the dishwasher connections. Are you kidding?I said, “Can you come and install the pump and if it doesn’t drain then I will call the plumber.” He said no as he can’t find the connection...I am going to put 150 to have a plumber come when I know it’s the pump not a blockage to have the plumber show me where the dishwasher is connected because the idiot can’t figure it out. I said I need it for Christmas. Nobody working until next Wednesday. Do not get a GE. Poor customer service and to break down a few weeks after purchasing is unacceptable. I had A Bosch for 6 years, never a problem. Plus the lower rack tracks already fell apart. I live by myself and does not get much use. I read the reviews and should have known. The only reason I purchased I needed the bisque color. BUYER BEWARE.

Looks great after 7 years, still works good. Could use larger drawers and the soap dispenser hasnt opened a few times. After 5 years of use weve had to rerun the to clean the dishes.

In 2012 we purchased a GE microwave for around $500.00. It lasted with moderate use until 2017 at which point, it almost burned our house down due to malfunctions of internal parts. After many hours on the phone and several repair visits, GE agreed to replace it. The replacement lasted until March of 2020, at which point it started tripping our breaker. I took a half day off of work waiting on a repair technician. The technician came out and replaced a switch. Two hours after he left, the microwave stopped working. I called GE back and was given another repair appointment, again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and stated that the door of the microwave was causing it not to work and he ordered a new door.I called GE and was given another repair appointment. Again taking a half day off of work, I waited for the technician. He arrived and replaced the door. That evening, we noticed that the internal light would not shut off when we closed the microwave door. Two days later the microwave started producing a burning smell whenever we used it.I went out and purchased a $50.00 microwave from Walmart. This experience has been beyond what is reasonable for a customer to experience. I have received numerous automated emails from GEs consumer relations department from a GE consumer relations employee that is allegedly been responsible for my case. I have never actually spoken to this person even though I was advised numerous times that she would be calling me. As of this point, I plan on never purchasing another GE product nor can I in good conscience recommend to anybody that would inquire, purchasing a GE product. The customer service I received has been bad to say the least and the product even worse.

My Microwave that is four years old suddenly wont heat anymore. It still runs but there is no heat. They told me its out of warrantee already. The repairman says its the magnetron and it costs $600 to replace! The oven microwave combo unit is $1500 altogether to replace. I bought another Walmart microwave for $47 and it works great! GE will not replace or fix it. They dont stand behind their products and are not helpful on the phone. I will never use a GE product again.

We purchased several new GE appliances in August of 2016 as part of a kitchen renovation. We bought the GE Cafe series dishwasher CDT865SSJOSS. Within two weeks of use, the display stopped working. It took 3 weeks to get a technician out to fix display. Approximately 6 months later, we noticed the dishes were not as clean. Two months later the water stopped draining. Called a technician in, he diagnosed a broken pump. Parts would take 3 weeks and he would be out a week later. We are now over a month without a working dishwasher. He “fixes” the pump but says it isn’t draining great because your hose from your disposal is plugged (this hose drains to the same place as the dishwasher). Hire a guy to unplug the drain ($140). It isn’t plugged. The whole house is clear. Have to Shopvac out the stagnant water from the dishwasher that smells like a corpse. Call our plumber to check the lines ($500). He discovers that the technician pushed in the washer and busted a line. We now have water damage through our floor and into a bedroom below. He confirms that the plumbing is all clear and also finds that the technician never reattached the pan to the bottom so water was hitting the sensor and activating the shut off for a leak. Plumber fixes plumbing wrecked by technician, dries the sensor and attaches the pan. He advises that we run several cycles to flush out the stagnant water. If water still is not draining after several cycles, he advised that the new pump was faulty. Plumber leaves. We get 10 minutes into a cycle and the dishwasher stops for a leak again. I called GE hoping they would stand behind their product that we have now had for 2 years and have used less than a year. GE does not stand behind their products. The only thing they will do is send out a technician that you have to pay $100 for and they can’t guarantee that you won’t get the same technician who has come out 3 times and cost us more money due to his negligence. In May, we will be putting their terrible product out on our curb for city wide garbage collection. You no longer get what you pay for with GE. Do not buy their products!

The key pad says it is shorted out and needs service. It turns on randomly. I unplug it and plug it back in and it will either say service needed, keypad shorted out’ or press clock .I dont use it much for microwave cooking. It came with the house we just bought and it only worked for 3 weeks before it started this mess. I could deal with it if it didnt beep all the time.

First Profile microwave/oven caught on fire. Was replaced. Front panel on Profile refrigerator not reacting to touch. Repairman said that this model had problems. Fixed it - cost over $100.00. Dishwasher (Profile series) not worth the cost of heating the water to run it. Cleaned dishes by hand. Stove top died - not reacting to touch. $90.00 for repairman to visit us, and another $60.00 to tell us what was wrong. A lot of money for inferior products.

We recently purchased a new GE microwave and are pleased with its service and price. The microwave is attractive and seems to be constructed well! We would buy another GE product and feel that they provide quality in appliances!

The microwave (JVM1860WF001) came with the new home. It quit working. It still turns on, but does not heat. After reading all the complaints, I will not go to the expense of fixing this microwave. I will buy another brand. Goodbye GE. It appears by the other complaints, that GE does not care.

When we bought our house we upgraded our GE appliances to stainless steel. I had no problems with the dishwasher until a few days ago. Then it stopped working completely. As with most of the complaints I have read the control panel was not working. We took the front door apart just to see if the dishwasher was worth salvaging or should we buy a new one. A screw was NEVER installed on the vent assembly to hold it in place. The entire inside if the door was corroded by steam and/or water. So every wash slowly degrading the electronics. 18 months, 6 months past its warranty where now its out of their hands and you can pay $89 to have someone just look at it. We were lucky it just broke because this hidden mistake on their part could have not only caused a short circuit but a fire. Like so many of the other stories. I will not buy GE again.

Started at the front rack hook. My wife stopped the microwave immediately, luckily she was right in front of it when it happened. This is a serious condition that could destroy a kitchen or even the house. I will call GE Consumer hotline tomorrow.

I purchased my machine in 2019. The only concern I have with this machine is that I’m never sure of the amount of water that fills the tub with some features that I’m not used to. The tub on this machine enables me to wash very large loads including my queen size quilt. After washing, my clothes are practically dried which cuts down on my electric bill for the dryer. The drain and spin feature allows for a drier finish. Everything else is good. As long as you’re using the right soap the clothes are the cleanest.

This microwave (jvm1540dm5ww) works fine but the plastic door is fracturing into bits. I expect this is because of faulty plastic in China. Cheap alternatives for fast profits. The machine is out of warranty. Replacement door is almost 160$ with shipping. Planned obsolescence by corporate America. This machine works fine but is a waste because I don’t trust the replacement materials to be any more stable. I rated this a two because the actual operation is fine. Sorry GE. I will not buy your brand.

Bought a GE dishwasher that a service bulletin was generated by GE on a fault in their manufacturing. DD03-16 for reference. The door does not stay shut and continues to open. GE customer service suggested replacing hinges and brackets on the door. So I ordered the parts and changed them. It did not work. I called them back and they suggested purchasing and replacing additional parts. I called a local 3rd party and they provided the service bulletin and said that this is a problem in the design of these models. GE will not repair the problem. The cost has been shifted to me or they suggest buying a new dishwasher for only $150 over retail. They are hiding behind a warranty that expired, but the problem started at time zero when it was made. This is garbage and I have been without a working unit and continuing to argue with them over the repair or replacement cost. Call if you have this problem because they have identified it and have a solution that they will not tell you about.

We recently purchased three GE Profile stainless steel appliances for our new home. The total was somewhere around $3500. Within two weeks our $1000 dishwasher would not work. It took FOUR service calls and THREE weeks for it to finally be repaired. Now our $2000 oven (traditional/convection) has stopped working and the oven light will not go off without us tripping the breaker. Service tech not available for 5 days. I am expecting the new micro to go out any day now. All of these appliances are less than two months old. We had GE builder grade appliances in our previous home that are still running strong after 16 years. That is the reason we went with GE again. However, after the above mentioned issues with our new GE appliances, I encourage anybody who reads this to NEVER, EVER BUY ANY GE PRODUCTS AGAIN.

This washer was easy to install myself, and has worked perfectly. Stainless steel insides. Very happy. You put a pod in, turn it on, cleans great. We do not even have to use heating element. Dishes dry quickly on their own. 24-inch wide. Bought to fit the new kitchen cabinets. Nice brushed stainless outside. Cleans easy with towel and hot water. Silverware container picks up to take to storage areas. No problems at all.

Our microwave, model number JVM1750DP1BB, was manufactured May 2011. On Monday, Dec. 30, I was heating a bagel when the small plastic hook holding the rack caught fire. The interior of the microwave burned, but I was able to put it out before it spread too far. I shudder to think what might have happened it I had been in another room. Im irritated because I keep reading that this is a common problem. Im irritated because MY HOUSE COULD HAVE BURNED DOWN. Im irritated because it seems like GE isnt doing a great job at making it right. Ive attached a photo below, showing where the plastic pin burned. I can say that Im shopping for a new over-the-range micro, and it wont come from GE.

We purchased a GE Profile Microwave with our GE Profile range in 2010. In 2016 we noticed an area on the bottom of the back wall that was peeling. It is in an area where nothing is rubbing or touching it. After taking photos and contacting GE customer service I was offered a discount on a replacement microwave. I expressed my concern that a new microwave might do the same thing--peel. I was told that the newer microwaves have a moisture resistant paint. The area that has peeled is much larger now than is shown in the attached photo taken in 2016. I expected my oven to last longer than 6 years; its a GE Profile and we take excellent care of our appliances.

Purchased an entire line of GE appliances for kitchen after having prior (still working) appliances for 13 years. Have had at least 5 services calls and countless emails and phone calls for non functioning Dishwasher. Here is response from GE Manager: I have reviewed the pictures and no I would re-wash those 4 dishes if they came out of my dishwasher prior to using them with my family. Dried on fruit, starches and dairy are tough for any dishwasher to take off as the sugars in them act like glue. Again for these types of foods we would highly recommend more pre-washing to make sure that they are not left on the dishes after the dishwashing cycle. CAUTION: DO NOT BUY.

I have had the GE Profile for approximately 8 years with no Issues. I learn something new it will do every now and then I had no idea was possible. I stillHave not conquered the convection baking and that is my fault. I need to use it more often since it wouldn’t heat up kitchen like the range does especially these hot summer days in Texas.

GE Profile Microwave/Convection Oven JVM1790WK, over the range unit, CAUGHT ON FIRE while microwaving water for coffee. One of the four prongs that holds the oven grid in place started flaming wildly and smoking after about one minute of microwaving. My whole kitchen has an acrid awful burning smell. This is my second unit for a small kitchen, and I will be lost without this. The first one I had the handle fell off. This one is too dangerous to use. These units cost $600!!! I cannot afford to replace one every few years. Maybe this model and brand is bad news?

I am a licensed master plumber. I do a fair share of high end kitchen installs, I noticed that in the last 5 years that all GE dishwashers I installed had a whole lot of extra parts to be installed by the installer. For example. Today I uncrated and tried to roll a GE dishwasher I got 6 and a drip tray fell out. Then when I went to install the dishwasher in the cabinet I had to install 4 different rubber flanges. When I went to push the dishwasher in the flanges came loose and hindered the install. The the insulation jacket kept binding up. The last 10 of these GE dishwashers I have installed the dishwasher appears to be racked or not square. I had to tell the General Contractor that I dont want to install the GE dishwashers any more. Way too much trouble. I have much better luck and ease of installation with Miele and Bosch. The GE dishwasher are very frustrated to install. Bob Licensed Master Plumber since 1982Richmond VA

I purchased a General Electric model peb7226df1ww in 2013. It lasted two years, then failed. I replaced it and two years later the replacement failed. At least GE microwaves are reliable in that aspect. You can count on them to fail. I am convinced GE installs a delayed kill switch on their microwaves to help their revenue stream. This was the last GE appliance I will ever purchase.

My microwave was purchased 2.13, costing about $500. The panel shorts and I paid for one GE visit, $150. And it happened again. My friend was here and said hers does the same thing. She has a neighbor with the same problem. I researched online and learned quite a bit about this machine. I found out that the panel shorts when youre cooking under it, and steam/heat rises into the machine. Makes the panel short. Im now demanding that GE return $150 service fee that I paid before I found out that its a defective machine. And this machine has to be replaced with a model that allows cooking with vents on. If GE does not do the right thing, I will make it a life goal that no one buy their products. Mark my words. Im this angry because I called customer service this week and was told that theyll give me a new panel but I have to pay for the labor and no refund for the $150 and no replacement microwave. This was insulting. Shame on GE.

GE Profile GLD4408RBB: Bought this dishwasher at Home Depot 2010 for our FL condo. We visit there periodically, dont rent out. We have used this dishwasher probably 50 times since buying. It never wash dishes well, leaving residue and we do clean them first. Now it doesnt drain; seems like pump not working. Its only five years old and hardly used. Its not worth having a repairman for labor and cost of parts. Very disappointed with GE product and wont buy another one.

The dishwasher is poor quality. Top is thin, top dish rack has trouble with tall glasses. Bottom rack doesnt slide in and out well. The power cord and water cords are too short. They are 2 ft shorter than our previous model dishwasher. Top was loose when delivered and had the wrong screw in one of the holes. The hose and cords are difficult to hook up because they are so short. We cant fit as many dishes in as our previous model of the same size and the unbiased reviewers are saying its washing quality is poor. We havent had it long and hate it. Home Depot wont take returns on portable dishwashers though. Out lots of money on this. This GE is thin plastic trash that costs lots of money with no return.

Cleans ok but not sure if its detergent or dishwasher but never seems to get all dishes completely clean. It may leave a ring in my tea cup so sometimes Ill have to clean it slightly to make sure it comes off. Basic settings on mine, nothing special. Good for plates and some Pyrex cookware but it would be nice if I could put larger pots in it. Very basic white in color but it is over 10 years old.

I bought my GE DISHWASHER many years ago. Only use once in a while because there are just 2 of us in the house and it takes too long to fill it, but when I do use it it work fine.

I purchased this dishwasher on April 2018 and from the beginning was not working well. I called a technician about 2 months ago, came with the computer and told me it is working fine, but my dishes are never well cleaned. Anyway on Nov 27, 2018 the water started coming out from my tiles and I didnt understand why? I kept drying and it kept dripping. I was so worried and called a handyman. He told me it is the dishwasher dripping water. All my cabinets, my tiles are wet inside. I have called and report it and today a technician was coming to repair it (which I will not accept.) I want a peace of mind. I need a new working dishwasher. Today, the technician was supposed to call me before arriving and I was 5 minutes away and left. Now, your customer service reps are telling me to wait till Tuesday. I am having guests and my house is a mess, I have the dishwasher in the middle of my kitchen, everything is stinking to humidity and all happens because of this BAD PRODUCT. I want this trash to be exchange as soon as possible.

Purchased a GE profile dishwasher two years ago. It stopped draining. After 4 service calls and $400 we had to buy a new dishwasher. Basically I threw $1000 down the drain. My recommendation is do not buy a GE dishwasher!!!

We bought a GE Profile micro/convection oven in December 2010 (model # PEB1590SM). It was working great until 11-19-2012, when the panel on the right side started to glow bright orange, then burst into flame. I thought my wife was goofy, so I tried to heat a cup of water. It was the same thing; the panel glowed bright orange and then flamed. We waited a week for a GE tech to visit. He said the wave guide is burnt. Its non-repairable so were waiting for disposition from GE service. There wont be another GE micro in this house. P.S. - Were still waiting for the GE case manager to call back after leaving three messages.

I bought this microwave about 2 years ago (2011). Yesterday the microwave turned on by itself, I tried to stop it by hitting the clear button that didnt work so I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in it seemed ok so I reset the clock but within minutes it started again, this time the key pad read key pad short-circuit and then went blank. I am glad I was home when it happened. I am now wondering if I should repair it or replace it.

This is the second time that my GE microwave oven is peeling the paint on the inside of the oven. We paid over $240.00 the first time and think that this is a serious flaw this particular oven has. I think that the company should be liable, not the consumer.

I purchased a GE microwave, model LVM1750DPWW, in 2012. It was delivered approximately 12/6/2012 and was installed in July 2013 after our kitchen remodel was complete. In March 2014, my daughter was warming something on the rack when the back upper rear hook started sparking and caught fire. I am thankful the only damage was to the microwave and to the smell in the house for a few days. When I called Lowes and GE, they act like theyve never heard of this issue. Yet, I see many other complaints of the hooks catching fire. Just to be sure, I turned on the microwave again. The hook started sparking immediately. GE sent a repairman to the house who told me that GE ought to let people know not to leave the racks in the oven. Since she was cooking on the rack, it would be difficult not to have the rack in the oven. He said the oven was a safety concern, could not be repaired and that GE would bring out a new microwave and install it for me. Great! I was pleased - yet concerned. A couple days later, I received an email from GE customer service saying that we had put the rack in the oven incorrectly. There is NO way to have put it in incorrectly. Besides that, he couldnt have seen if this was true since the hook was burnt and melted. I am pretty angry.

Ive had a GE Dishwasher for over 6 years and it works great. The issue is every 2 years or so, the plastic over the metal rods that make up the plate racks wear away and rust the underlying metal. The first time GE charged me about 200.00 for the racks, where the dishwasher only cost 250.00. The second time they replaced for free and now this third time, GE is being absolutely absurd not replacing these racks. My concern for mine is the health issues arising from having rusted parts in the washer. I believe this to be a manufacturers defect and could be happening in 1000s of these dishwashers. Metal should not go into water!!! GE should gladly replace my racks but theyre giving me a major problem, like take our offer or dont bother us. Please see the attached pictures and hopefully this doesnt happen to your dishwashers.

Emptying out the dishwasher I purchased in October 2016 is a cause for rage these days. Dishes, glasses, silverware, etc...come out of any wash cycle dirtier than they went in, though I have tried everything I can think of to see if anything at all can make it better. I purchased the dishwasher from BEST BUY. Little did I know, they dont take anything back after 15 days of purchase. They promptly referred me to GE. In turn GE reps said that their warranty only covers REPAIRS for the first year. In short, sucker me who spent near to $600, is stuck with a VERY BAD product from the moment I paid for it. And there is nothing I can do about it!!! GE IS CLEARLY SCAMMING ITS TRUSTING CUSTOMERS!!! I have been robbed!!!

We purchased the following from GE: GE Profile refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, oven and cooktop in 2006 (six years ago). Last six weeks, the refrigerator, dishwasher and cooktop broke! We have insurance through Assurant on the products since it was recommended. We purchased the insurance for repairs and parts. Refrigerator - the motherboard (if you have other words for this) went out (4 weeks for a part). Now it is fixed. Dishwasher PDW8280NSS - This was the final answer from GE Consumer Affairs:I do apologize for this entire experience. At this time, being the part is not available, the best option would be to offer a prorate on this dishwasher for you in order to have a functioning dishwasher in your home. The products must be really ** good if you need this as a department. Everyone should rethink buying GE products. Never again. I am campaigning against them! I cant get the part on a six-year-old high-end dishwasher. We live in the US, dont we? This should be a class action suit!

My dishes always come out clean & the glassware always sparkles. I can use normal, heavy or light cycles. I can use heat to dry the dishes or turn that feature off & let them dry themselves. I think its just a normal size. Its white & matches my other appliances. This is the first GE Brand that Ive ever had. Ive had KitchenAid & Frigidaire models in the past and this one is as good as the others were.

GE Stainless steel dishwasher rust inside. Its more show than function. Size is great. GE stated in writing that this is normal for GE stainless steel appliances as GE stainless steel is not real stainless steel. Rust is not covered by GE warranty!
