We had a GE microwave that my parents got when I was in elementary school that lasted us through graduation (when I got it), and it then lasted me another 6 or 7 years after that. It was a great microwave, so we went with GE for our next one. What a mistake that was. The new one died completely less than a year after we got it (less than a year after its manufacture date at that!). The one after, one of the same make and model, lasted 3 years to the month after its manufacture date. Sorry GE, but I just do not have any interest in spending so much for so short a lifespan on your products, and its a damn shame that your quality has suffered so badly that you have lost a once-loyal customer of your brand.

I have had a fridge, a washer and a microwave oven from GE. I have been so disappointed in all three, but the microwave oven disappointed me the most. The door broke around the handle and the hinges, and was replaced shortly after buying it. Then it broke again and I replaced it myself. Then it broke again. This makes me not want to try another GE product. The fridge shelves all broke because they were plastic. The washer fell apart shortly after a year. It is just myself and my husband using them, so they should last for years. When you buy large item, you would like them to last a long while.

28 Inch Front Load Washer with 4.9 cu. ft. Capacity, 13 Wash Cycles, 1250 RPM, Steam Cycle, Steam Assist, Time Saver Option, Sanitize Cycle, Energy Star in White. Overall this machine is top of the line. Purchasing a home appliance is like purchasing a vehicle. I took my time and reviewed and compared before purchasing. About 3 months. I had just purchased a home and so you want an appliance that is going to last. It has a 10 year warranty. It has 3 color options. It's cosmetically attractive. It also is elevated which is a smart choice for a basement machine in case you have issues with water in your basement.

Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwash
Purchased new home and bought GE Monogram package. Within 6 months dishwasher started leaking bottom of door. After five repair service calls. (Thats 10 times waiting for service man or for parts to be stalled). The final repair killed the dishwasher dead and GE replaced it with a new Monogram dishwasher. I thought all was working fine but then this new dishwasher developed a leak underneath and the sensor shut it down completely. Service call made to GE and a GE service man came, only he couldnt get to the leak area because he couldnt pull the dishwasher out because the connecting water hose was being stretched so tight he said he couldnt disconnect it because he couldnt see behind the unit or the drawers to see where it was hung up. Plus he is not authorized to install or reinstall dishwashers. So I call GE repair and now have spoken to the most uncaring, dis concerned case manager handling my account. He tells me that this now a installation problem and that even though GE delivered the dishwasher and installed it that because these were outside venders they (GE) were not responsible for the installation and dont know if they used GE standards to install it. So because the GE service man couldnt move the dishwasher I now needed to get a plumber to disconnect the dishwasher, find out what the problem is with the installation, coordinate a service call date with GE service to then come out and put in the parts, then have a plumber back in to install the dishwasher again. GE will reimburse me up to $125 for the plumbers work and I have to submit the plumbers invoice. No guarantee that a leak will happen again, because the GE service man cant even run a test on the replacement parts because the dishwasher isnt hooked up to water and he cant do that because he isnt authorized by GE to install. Oh, the dishwashers warranty ended on 10/10/2015. My service call went in three days before it was to expire so service is covered for the leak (or so I have been told). But what will breakdown next with this appliance? I bought GEs top of the line package. I bought a MADE IN USA appliance and I can honestly say that this GE appliance turned out to be unreliable, unrepairable and their case managers uncaring. I will never ever, ever buy another GE appliance. I will never recommend any GE appliances to anyone ever. My KitchenAid lasted for 26 years without a service call. When I remodeled my kitchen I purchased a Bosch dishwasher. That pleasure was 13 years old when we sold our home. We have been in this new home for 1-1/2 years and now on my second dishwasher with a future of many service calls ahead and very bad taste for GE. If this leak problem is not fixed or another problem arises, I will yank this dishwasher out and buy another brand. A reliable one and definitely not a General Electric EVER! Since this GE Monogram package was purchased at P.C. Richards they will also be notified of my displeasure and I will continue my discourse of GE forever for their lack of product truthfulness and quality, plus consumer disregard.

I spoke to someone in the customer relations department after contacting GE cares. Our GE refrigerator purchased 16 months ago had malfunctioned. Within minutes of explaining the problem GE located my file in their system. They immediately extended the manufacturer warranty as a courtesy. I didn’t have an extended warranty but GE arranged to have the service technician come to my house to repair, what he discovered was a broken fan, in less than 24 hours at no cost. While the likelihood of a fairly new appliance needing repair is rare, the service technician did explain that repairs needed with GE appliances does keep him very busy. I am thankful for their CARE and saving my Thanksgiving turkey!

GE over the stove microwave stainless Steel Adora made for Home Depot. It started to make a funny noise and then it wouldnt heat. I contacted GE about the problem. It would be $89.00 to come out and an additional $25 for the double wall oven that would not stop beeping and would not work at all. We purchased a GE double wall oven at the same time as the microwave. All of our appliances were purchased in 2006. All GE and we are worried they are all junk. My husband took it to an appliance repair place and they said the Magnatron and the diode went on the machine. They said it is basically junk! Disgusted. Dont buy GE. They make junk! I just had to dispose of this piece of trash!

I also bought a counter top GE microwave oven model jes1451dn1bb that turned itself on and then stated a vegetable sensor error. I did not trust it after this and when I plugged it back in, it stated a keyboard short had occurred and that I may need service. What I need is a non-GE microwave oven that works longer than 18 months. Prior to this machine, I had bought the same model back in 2003 and the same thing happened; The machine turned itself on and stated a popcorn sensor failed. This was back years ago and I complained to GE but never heard from them. This problem has been going on for years and they do not give a ** about the consumer who lives with this machine. I complained tonight about my second microwave and unless a miracle happens, I will never buy another GE product again in my life!

First Profile microwave/oven caught on fire. Was replaced. Front panel on Profile refrigerator not reacting to touch. Repairman said that this model had problems. Fixed it - cost over $100.00. Dishwasher (Profile series) not worth the cost of heating the water to run it. Cleaned dishes by hand. Stove top died - not reacting to touch. $90.00 for repairman to visit us, and another $60.00 to tell us what was wrong. A lot of money for inferior products.

Our last microwave was also a GE and it lasted about 15 years before it started to suffer from occasional electrical arcing inside, while in use. The dishwasher is poor quality. Top is thin, top dish rack has trouble with tall glasses. Bottom rack doesnt slide in and out well. The power cord and water cords are too short. They are 2 ft shorter than our previous model dishwasher. Top was loose when delivered and had the wrong screw in one of the holes. The hose and cords are difficult to hook up because they are so short. We cant fit as many dishes in as our previous model of the same size and the unbiased reviewers are saying its washing quality is poor. We havent had it long and hate it. Home Depot wont take returns on portable dishwashers though. Out lots of money on this. This GE is thin plastic trash that costs lots of money with no return.

Negative 5 stars. I purchased a GE over the range microwave oven, JVM2052SN1SS, just over a year ago and had a service call to address a lack of exhaust about a month after my purchase. In summary, the tech said it would not function as a dedicated exhaust hood and nothing can be done. 14 months later, the key pad began malfunctioning. Also, the moisture sensor that the operation manual stated will automatically start the exhaust fan, never worked and every time we cook, moisture would build up between the glass on the microwave door.I called GE Consumer Relation today and they will not address this issue free of charge. I will not purchase another GE product because GE dont stand behind their products.

Now I have a white plastic handle that’s supposed to be stainless steel as an eyesore in the middle of my kitchen. When I called GE replacement line, I was informed the handle was $164! Cost of washer $749.95 plus 4-yr warranty, install and hoses, $273 equals $1,023 for this GE stainless interior tall tub dishwasher GLD8700N20BB that only lasted 6 years and 4 months. It wont run, wont fill with water, nothing. Six years. Time to buy again. My advice, buy a cheap one and replace it every 36 months and forget the extended warranty. Installed: Sept. 2009. Dead: Jan. 2016. This was a replacement to an LG dishwasher that completely flooded my kitchen and caused a total tear out of my kitchen, and my homeowners insurance took LG to court. That LG cost $42,000 for a new kitchen and months of contractors and work. Washing dishes by hand is looking better every day... Think about it.

I have a GE Triton. We started a load of dishes before going to bed. When we woke up in the morning there was a terrible burning plastic smell. The dishwasher was stuck on, and ran all night. It wouldnt turn off, so we unplugged it. We are lucky that it didnt catch the house on fire. NEVER go to sleep with your dishwasher running. All the stuff you see at the bottom is plastic that dripped down. It melted the bottom of the silverware rack, and some silverware fell down to the bottom where the plastic handles of the knife handles melted. There is brown residue, so I think it did start to catch fire. Thank goodness we woke up early.

They’re always cold and sometimes the peas will pop. There’s never a good medium for all foods at once and if you have any bread or biscuits you have to take it out after 15 seconds. Fast forward, the GE repairman came and said the microwave repair cost would be around $400. The heating part wasnt under warranty nor was the labor. Mind you, the entire microwave (new) was under $400. We called the GE service center, and they refused to honor what their representative had told us. The most they offered was 50% off. I bought a whole line of GE Monogram appliances for our home in late 2005. These appliances are not even seven years old and I have had the side-by-side fridge repaired several times with no true fix to the problem. They charged me to repair the tank in the fridge that the water line leads out from and into the freezer door. Another repair man said that was never the problem and that the seal on the freezer door is broken from inside the door (a common problem) and freezes up the water line, so no filtered water comes out. They wanted to charge me $800 for a new door with no guarantee that it won’t happen again! My cook-top downdraft has shorted out three times because of a faulty design issue. Water and moisture can get up under the switch, which shorts it out. There were three different repairs for the same issue. Last time the same service man repaired the problem and he was so careless. He got silicone all over the granite counters and switch, which he didnt check before leaving! I called him back to my house before he even got out of the neighborhood. Ultimately, he admitted he screwed up and ordered me yet another switch. Now, just today, my Monogram dishwasher started billowing black smoke. I called GE to find that the unit has been recalled for electrical shock and fires. They said I could have it repaired (if the service man deems it repairable) or it’s $400 towards a new unit. Is this company for real? How many consumers do they have to lose before they wake up? If I werent home my house could have burnt to the ground or, worse, one of our kids or us could have been severely hurt or worse. Do they not realize the liability they would have at that point if the worst would have happened? And they have two phone numbers and my address on file. Why on earth would they not contact me to tell me of the recall? Are they holding their breath and crossing their fingers that nothing too bad will happen? I have a Whirlpool fridge/freezer that is 18 years old and in my garage; nevertheless, it has never given me an ounce of trouble. I will never buy another GE appliance again and will tell anyone I know the same, including the several new home builders I work with. There are too many other companies out there that will back up their quality products. I have called into GE on my latest problems. And if I dont get satisfaction (i.e., brand new units), I have no issues contacting the attorney general. There are forms online that can be downloaded so a formal complaint can be filed. I urge anyone else to do the same.

We have a GE Profile Microwave (PNM1871SM3SS) that is only 3 years old and is reporting KEYPAD SHORTED - SERVICE MAY BE REQUIRED. We called GE service repair and told them the exact message. The service guy shows up and says all he has in his order is General other service needed and that he doesnt have the keypad panel. Gives us an estimate of $501 to repair it. Tells us a new one costs $400 and with a coupon he can give us it will be $100 less. We were charged $99 for this visit which basically lasted 10 minutes (way to go GE on making money off faulty devices you sell). The service-person also told us that the average life was 10 years for these, but this one crapped out in 3. He said if we get another GE microwave, it will fit right in there and that I can do it myself if I am handy but after reading all the reviews online, I am skeptical whether I should get a GE microwave again or not!

GE Profile GLD4408RBB: Bought this dishwasher at Home Depot 2010 for our FL condo. We visit there periodically, dont rent out. We have used this dishwasher probably 50 times since buying. It never wash dishes well, leaving residue and we do clean them first. Now it doesnt drain; seems like pump not working. Its only five years old and hardly used. Its not worth having a repairman for labor and cost of parts. Very disappointed with GE product and wont buy another one.

Our GE microwave stopped working after about 7 months of use. Ive never had a microwave break down on me before. Ive owned other brands which Ive used for years, actually lasted over 10 years. The only reason we purchased the GE microwave was because our old microwave was too big in size. I called GE for warranty service and it was very much of a hassle just to make the appointment. I had to call several times because a customer service representative misinformed me. It took a couple days just to set up a service appointment.Ive told the representative that the microwave stopped working and will not power back on again. The representative told me that the fuse probably went out. Something must have blown out. Finally, the appointment was made for about a week later, which was the earliest time available. It is so inconvenient not to have a working microwave even just for a day. Anyhow, the service tech came about two hours late. The scheduled time was for 8am-12 pm. He showed up close to 2pm. A family member was waiting at home all day because of this. Then the service tech told us that he needs to order a part for the microwave and that he will return a week later to repair the microwave.A week later, he didnt show up. No one even called. So I called back GE and found out that the appointment has been postponed! So now, we have been without a microwave for about three weeks. I think this is ridiculous. Im pretty sure that this is a common problem with GE microwaves and they already had an idea why the microwave wasnt working. It doesnt power-up! Now they are telling me that they dont have the part/s in stock? If I had known that we had to invest so much time and go through so much hassle from the get-go, I would have just purchased a new microwave three weeks ago. GE should pay me for all the time Ive wasted!

GE GDF520PGDWW 24 white, full console dishwasher - Energy Star. I have had this dishwasher model since December 2014 and it has not drained consistently since the beginning either during the wash cycle or rinse cycle. GE has sent three different repair companies to replace the pump, the control panel, and ultimately the entire dishwasher, yet even the new dishwasher still does not drain consistently. Sometimes it drains and sometimes it doesnt. The GE-certified repairman was again here this morning and is again ordering a new pump. Counting the original pump, the previously replaced pump and the pump in the new unit, this would be the fourth pump. I tried to suggest the problem may not be the pump, but the repairman could not think of another possible issue. I do not recommend purchasing this dishwasher.

Service tech comes and says, Sorry parts are back ordered for 3 months (including new frame due to damage done to it getting the thing open). I call GE customer care. Explain that its obviously cheaper to drop ship me a new unit (and I will waive the new frame) than all of the parts, frame and a second call to fix the unit. Their answer, buy a new unit at a discount or simply go without a microwave for 3 months. Add me to the list of victims trying to warn others to NEVER buy a GE product.

Each time, we followed their directions and the machine still doesnt clean. A decision was made that they will not replace the dishwasher, but would offer us an extended warranty. I explained that an extended warranty is useless to me if the machine isnt working correctly now.

Five years ago I purchased a brand-new condo w/ a GE Nautilus dishwasher installed. This machine has NEVER worked right. Issues: 1. The detergent cup that closes, consistently gets stuck shut, hence only half of the detergent gets dispensed and a second cycle is usually needed to get the dishes cleaner. 2. Dishes are never really clean. Theres always at least one dish that has something left over on it, but its usually multiple dishes. 3. Lower rack started rusting out after 3 years of very light use (used approx 3-4 times a month). Loud. Louder than my washing machine. 4. Replacement parts are ridiculously expensive. A new lower rack is approx $100. My condo also came with a GE refrigerator. It too is junk. Never again...

The repair company on their 4th visit told me wrong part again and that they refuse to come out anymore. They lost enough money already. When talking with GE consumer Dept. promises of a call back by a manager has been non existent, now they wont even return my call. I have a 5yr extended warranty on the dishwasher and I cant seem to get anywhere with the factory warranty. GE by far the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They were happy to take my money for 4 top of the line appliances, after that youre non existent to them. Its a shame that legal counsel is what seems my only avenue. My GE Profile Dishwasher was serviced 2 years ago for a faulty electronic control pad. It made starting the dishwasher a complete gamble, you never knew when it would actually turn on. I paid a couple hundred dollars to fix this problem 2 years ago and of course it has stopped working once again. So frustrating! GE decides to replace one bad part for another bad part. I then asked for the service call to be covered since it was obviously the same problem but they refused. In 2008 I redid the entire kitchen and purchased all GE Profile stainless steel appliances thinking I was purchasing quality items. Well, it didnt take long before the dishwasher broke but it was fixed for free by GE under a recall. However, now the refrigerator has begun to leak under the right corner of the ice/water dispenser located on exterior of freezer door and the microwave touchpad has also failed as I need to press below the actual keys for it to work half the time. When I spoke with GE customer service they basically told me there was nothing they could do with the refrigerator, I would have to call a repairman and have it looked at or pay their $100 diagnosis fee.The microwave they told me had issues with that particular touchpad and had it broken within first 5 years they would have repaired it for free under their recall program. But since its 7 1/2 years old I would have to buy the touchpad which normally only lasts for 6 months to 1 year or buy a new GE microwave and they would offer a rebate. Im so unhappy with their customer service and poor reliability of their products that Ive passed on each offer as I dont want to contribute another penny to a company that in my opinion is unethical and has horrible reliability. 3 out of 4 of my fancy GE Profile stainless appliances have broken! Thats a 75% failure rate! No thanks, Ill buy elsewhere. No wonder they cant sell their appliance business and why the stock hasnt moved in years... Wake Up GE, do whats right for your customers!

SOLVED: PDW9980L00SS GE Profile Dishwasher not cleaning dishes. The rubberized sump of this dishwasher suffers from chemical deterioration. In our case the deterioration allowed waste water to bypass a check valve and return into the wash water. Dishes dont come out clean and the spray wands get plugged up with bits of waste. The solution is to replace the sump. If youre handy with tools its an easy DIY job which requires pulling out the dishwasher and turning it on its side for access to the sump. Lots of videos online re the process and for safety start by shutting off the circuit breaker for the dishwasher power. For our model the new sump part number WG01L00289 replaces the original WD18X10026. Dishes & glasses now sparkle. Hope this helps as there was lots of frustration on this end before replacing the sump seen in the photo.

6/11/2014. My microwave of 5 years the GE Adora starting to act strange. It would start to hum and the panel light would light up. The humming would only stop if I opened the door. Sometimes it would stop on its own. But today the humming kept continuing and I thought it was harmless until I heard a loud pop in the microwave and smelled something burning. The microwave glass turntable had exploded from intense heat inside the microwave. It was bizarre. Immediately I ran over and unplugged the microwave hood. In all the years and houses I own, this is the most expensive microwave I have purchased and it has lasted me the least amount of time! We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. The unit has failed miserably, and the company had failed us miserably. We are left with a pile of junk!

We have had it just over a month now and not only does it fail to get all of the dishes completely clean (even when run on heavy cycle) it NEVER dries even with the dry boost on. We never overload it or load it incorrectly and still there are dishes and utensils with food residue after its done running which takes hours. I had a GE dishwasher installed by the builder when I purchased my home. The dishwasher had a fire in the wiring harness for the energy save drying switch. The dishwasher was under warranty and was repaired by GE without issue, and they told me it was safe. About 2 years later, GE recalled the dishwasher for having started numerous fires throughout the country. As part of the recall program, GE offered incentives towards the purchase of a new dishwasher; however, unless you purchased another GE dishwasher, you received virtually nothing. I purchased the top of the line GE Triton performance plus dishwasher and had it professionally installed, and given my previous dishwashers history, I purchased an extended warranty from GE. This new allegedly top of the line dishwasher blew a hose and flooded my kitchen, causing several thousand dollars in damage to the floor / sub floor and ceiling below. GE was contacted, came out, and made a repair; and my damage claim was paid by GEs insurance carrier Electric insurance. Once again, 2 years later, this same dishwasher blew a hose and flooded my kitchen and downstairs. I contacted GE and found that my warranty had been sold by GE to an outside company named Assurant without my knowledge. They were unable to provide me with a service appointment for about 2 weeks and advised me not to touch anything until the damage was documented by a GE technician or my damage claim would be denied. I contacted GE customer service and explained the circumstances and that the water damage would need to be mitigated in order to prevent additional damage to my home. GE scheduled a sooner appointment, but they failed to show up. I called GE again; they rescheduled for the following day and failed to show again. GE was re-contacted, and they scheduled a third appointment with A&E, a GE affiliated outside repair service. This time, the technician arrived but was unable to do anything unless I made a cash payment to him, as GE failed to include my extended warranty information when they booked my appointment. I re-contacted GE, and the next available appointment date was more than two weeks away. I was concerned that the water damage would cause mold and create an electrical hazard due to wet wiring, and the water caused the laminate floor and sub floor in my kitchen and downstairs den to warp and buckle. I was forced to contact my homeowners insurance in order to get this damage addressed. GE has been unable to get anyone to my home to address the situation. In total, I have spent about 16 hours on the telephone remaining on hold an average of 1 to 1 1/2 hours for each call, only to be told there was nothing they could do or that no supervisor was available or authorized to do anything. Assurant advised me they would look into it and get back to me, but I have yet to receive a return call. GE corporate headquarters was contacted, and they were polite but unable to accomplish anything either. I am removing the appliance myself and having it replaced at my own expense with any brand other than GE. I would strongly urge anyone making an appliance purchase to choose another brand; GEs appliances, customer service, and repair service are all unreliable and well below standards based on the hundreds of dollars we spend on appliances. My decision to purchase a GE dishwasher has resulted in damage to my home in excess of $10,000.00 and an unbelievable amount of frustration and aggravation waiting for repair personnel that dont show and waiting on hold to speak to people who can do nothing for you. If I performed this badly at my job, I would have been fired a long time ago. Learn from my situation and dont buy GE!

I purchased a Ge profile top of the line microwave installed over an electric oven. After 3 months the plastic handle came off and Ge replaced the entire door. This handle has now come off 3 times. The service tech said it has a plastic connector that weakens over a stove. It supposed to be mounted over a stove. This is just poor design and totally unacceptable for their top of the line microwave.

This brand far above the Standards for this type of unit. This is my second purchase of this brand and I would recommend it above and beyond any other manufacturers. It’s very quiet and does a superb job of cleaning, and this dryer beats all the other. Keep producing this fabulous device, thanks.

Just purchased a home with GE Appliances. Dishwasher suddenly wont start and showing 1H code. Nothing in the user manual that explains what this means. Called customer support. After they requested unnecessary personal information (like email address, physical address, etc.), I was finally able to ask what this code meant. She went straight to, We are unable to provide that information over the phone. We have to send one of our service technicians out to your home. She refused to tell me what the code meant, and instantly wanted to charge me for tech visit. I hung up. Then I googled it, and found out right away that it meant the start was paused/delayed for 1 hour. I had hit the delay button by mistake. This was not specified in the manual under Delay Start, nor was customer support trained or willing to provide the answer to such a simple question. GE Support is just a Scam.

I purchased the GE Caf Advantium Oven Model No. CSA1201RSS. This is supposed to be one of their top of the line Microwave/Speedcookers and at $699.00 it should be. Within the first few months with little use, it made a loud buzzing sound and it went dead as if the breaker tripped. It was under warranty and a GE tech came out and repaired it free. The problem was the Magnetron, a key component inside the unit. I was shocked to see that the Magnetron was made by LG. I bought a GE because I did not want an LG, but I ended up with a GE with LG parts. The unit worked for several months and now it will not heat anything. I have only had this unit for 13 or 14 months and it is broken for the second time. I called the 1-800-GE-CARES to learn that they do anything but care. They told me it was out of warranty, but the parts are covered. It will cost me $99.99 for the tech to come out plus the cost of labor to repair the unit, which varies based on what needs to be repaired. This is unacceptable. There is clearly something wrong with this unit. I have had microwaves last 10+ years with no issues, and one of them was a GE! I thought GE would stand behind their products better, especially since they can see I had prior problems with this unit. This is a $699.00 tin can.

I purchased this GE Profile dishwasher last June, I paid $1,499.00 for it and have had three (3) service calls. The first one said the water is not hot enough, the second one said run the water in sink and get hot before you use the dishwasher. The tech was here again this morning and called in to tech services and was told put plates on the right side of the rack only and the dishes will get clean. Are they kidding me? I called the 800 number for customer service and was told by Dominic (rep in customer service) that they would replace the dishwasher and allow me a 40% discount on a new one because this one is working as designed. It is my understanding that the dishwasher should wash dishes, so that tells me it is not working as designed. I want a new dishwasher, preferably one that washes the dishes and not one that I have to pay an additional 60%. Are you kidding me? This is not right. I have read the reviews on this dishwasher and it seems everyone who purchased the dishwasher I have are having the same problems and it is not working as designed. Please let me know asap when the replacement dishwasher will be delivered. I will not pay an additional 60% for another. It is not right that you would keep making excuses until warranty runs out. I notified you of this problem one month after I purchased it and I have lived with this problem for almost one year and now you tell me that you will give me a discount on a new one. I have already paid for a new dishwasher and that is what I expect in return. Thank you. I expect to hear from you soon.

I purchased a GE over-the-range microwave in 2008. After 3 years, the magnetron went out and the microwave stopped heating. I called GE repair, and they told me it would cost over $300 to fix - close to the cost of a new microwave. Stupidly, I bought another GE microwave in August 2011, model JVM1750DP1BB. In the one year Ive had it, it has broken 4 times. One time, it was the magnetron (seems like a common problem). Another time it was the motherboard. Another time, it was a bad wiring problem. Each time, I called the GE repair service, and it takes 1-2 weeks to get an appointment. Twice, they cancelled my appointment on the day because they overbooked. Given that I had to take time off work for the appointments, this is a huge inconvenience. I have been waiting over this last time for an appointment, after they again cancelled my scheduled appointment. GE makes a terrible product, and their repair service is a joke. I bought GE because I wanted to Buy American, but they have completely turned me off. Think twice about buying GE! You will waste lots of time and money.

Our microwave was manufactured in September 2010 and we purchased it in October 2010. It has been used a few times a week for reheating leftovers. I have owned secondhand microwaves and unknown brand microwaves, and they have been more reliable than the GE Profile. My husband and I invested in the Profile series when we remodeled our kitchen. After a lifetime of moving and living in homes with much to be desired kitchens, we decided to spend money to provide ourselves with a functional kitchen. If I had to do it all over again, I would have saved myself the trouble and purchased my appliances from another company. After having to call GE to send out a repair person 5 different times to work in our microwave oven, we are left with a nonworking microwave oven. It seems that a company that has made record profits from their faithful American fans could do the right thing and replace the microwave oven with something that works. Perhaps they do not have such a product. They have offered to let us buy a new one at a big discount, but they have not clarified what the percentage will be. The problem I have with this is that spending one more dollar on a product with no backing from the company it came from would be asking for more let down. I believe Ill have this lemon removed and quit before I take on any more consumer letdowns.

My GE microwave oven died after 4 years. And my GE washer died after 5 years. Never ever buy a GE appliance. The market agrees, because their quality issues might be the reason the company has not been able to sell their appliance division for several years now.

I purchased a GE Profile stocks in 2007 and a GE microwave model JVM7195SK1SS purchased 12/30/16. We have replaced the knobs on the stove 2 times because of peeling in the past. Now we need to replace the microwave handle. The handles and knobs look like metal but they are cheaply made white plastic covered with a sharp silver coating that peels. It appears the knobs get overheated when the oven opens and the microwave handle from the steam when cooking on the stove. Last night I cut my hand on the handle! We reordered the faulty handle and now getting charge $100 from GE. The company should take responsibility for their poor design and replace it for free with a nonpeeling part. I know that we will get the same handle and won’t be able to use the burner below or hope that using the fan will keep it from cracking again. I would never recommend a GE product again.

We have had this GE dishwasher model GLD6760N00SS for about 9 years and it was fine, until a few nights ago!! We ran the dishwasher, unloaded it, closed the door and went out. When we returned about four hours later we were met in our apartment lobby by the building manager who informed us that we had a fire in our apartment. It started in the dishwasher, which was off, and destroyed the unit. Repairs will be costly due to fire restoration required as well as the need to now replace more than just a dishwasher. Soot covered the whole apartment, and left a need to get a new kitchen floor and repair/replace some cabinets. Be careful of this model from GE.

Microwave Model HVM1540LP1CS... This microwave was installed 6 years ago when I built my home. I live by myself and the microwave has only been used by me. I loved this microwave until suddenly it began to turn on by itself and I would often hear popping noises. I looked up reviews of this GE microwave and found that this is a frequent problem with GE microwaves. Fires were reported in a couple of reviews so I immediately unplugged mine, as a safety precaution. If this happens frequently with these microwaves, why isnt GE replacing the parts for the defective machines since they can be fire hazards?

I purchased a General Electric model peb7226df1ww in 2013. It lasted two years, then failed. I replaced it and two years later the replacement failed. At least GE microwaves are reliable in that aspect. You can count on them to fail. I am convinced GE installs a delayed kill switch on their microwaves to help their revenue stream. This was the last GE appliance I will ever purchase.

Our GE microwave just stopped working after 3 or 4 years. It was manufactured 4 years ago, but I am not exactly sure when we purchased and installed it... It may have sat on the shelf for a year. It is not the touch panel, the lights, timer, clock... They all work. In fact, I can put in a time to cook and push START and the timer will start counting down as if the microwave is cooking, but it is totally silent, no turntable, no noise, no nothing. The new replacement model number is the JVM6175 but I am scared to buy it, as I am so disappointed in GE. All the washers, dryers, microwaves, and refrigerators we have bought over the last 30 years have only lasted 3 to 7 years. The only appliance by GE we have purchased that seems to be still working is the dishwasher. We only used this microwave to heat up coffee or some leftovers. It is not being used to cook big meals or anything like that. GE has just gone downhill, it appears. I think I will just give up on them totally.

I purchased this Spacemaker Microwave Oven (HVM1540LP1CS) from Home Depot in Aug. 2010 along with a GE electric range (JB400SPSS). I wanted the appliances to match and they look very nice in our kitchen. Four days ago the microwave stopped working, that is, it comes on and appears to be working but does not heat the food placed in it. After looking on the internet, I found that other consumers have had the same problem and it appears the megatron is the culprit. The microwave was manufactured in March 2010 in Malaysia so it was not an older model that has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere. The cost to repair the microwave will be about $125 which is about half of what I paid for it. I will not repair this microwave just to have it fail in 20 months, General Electric should be ashamed of themselves for selling foreign-made products that do not last more than 2 years. My only hope is that the electric range we purchased does not follow the same course as the microwave, consumers should be aware of these problems before they purchase General Electric products.

The side panel of our built-in GE Profile microwave 1999 caught on fire when my daughter was using it. It had a faint glow behind the metal plate. Then, it became flames quite quickly. A flash and pop was the ultimate end before we turned it off during the test. It had been working fine until the fire. This is a definite safety issue. Now that I know the microwaves have been faulty, it makes me concerned about the GE Profile electric stovetop burner. I have noticed it gets extremely hot and doesnt seem to want to turn off!

Microwave oven, model # WES1450DN1BB, manufacture date, April 2011 - Your customer service sucks! I called there 5 times today and was told my microwave oven has been recalled, yet no one knows! You dont have it listed on the recall or anything. Your Customer Advocate doesnt know its recalled but your Service Department knows and I was told by them that it says, Do not repair, return to the place of purchase. Yet, I called my place of purchase and they know nothing of it either, but are going to work with me the best they can! It was manufactured in April of 2011 and we bought it around July 2011 (we think it was around then). There are many complaints online about the same issues as we are having - paint all bubbled and peeled off the inside top, and smell of burning wires coming from under it! If something would have happened to someone in my family or to my home, you bet your ** I would have sued the pants off of your company! Someone needs to get their ** straight with what is going on in your company or you are going to have a lot of issues! I may bring it to a higher level just because I am so pissed off that no one was informed about this issue, and something very bad could have or still can happen to someone because they are not getting the information they need! Stop and think about it. Because of your companys lack of communication, someone could die! I am very pissed off!
