Great microwave I have had for almost 10 years. It works like new. Its a name you can trust and not expensive at all. I have always believed in the GE name and their products. I have a dishwasher and dryer that work just as well. I will continue to buy GE products.

Model #JVM1790SK01. High end GE Profile microwave/convection oven. Purchased and installed in 2009. First off the exhaust fan is terrible and is very noisy. The product itself worked well until recently when now the microwave heats intermittently, one time it will come on and heat, next time nothing. The fan runs, but no heating. The truly frustrating part is I need the front venting and no other units have the vents that blow the air outward, all the new units blow the air straight up your cabinets. Certainly a high end unit should last longer than 5 years with only two adults using it now and then. The cost of the service is outrageous and I surely would not use the $100 rebate on another GE product if they do not last any better than this one.

First, as a new homeowner blessed with select builder-provided appliances, I never imagined I would be authoring this letter 4 months after closing on the new home. Your friggin’ microwave oven light mechanism truly sucks! I lost the two bulbs a week or so ago and purchased two more at the cost of approximately $10, even though a one-year warranty was stated. That was okay, as I was more interested in fixing the problem versus starting some long-range purchase interest. So, and this is the most aggravating aspect, I have the correct pins and life is ** good, and as I attempt to insert the first, the ** pin breaks off. Okay, so I reflect on the horrific engineering of the mechanism, and I softly” align the second of the two bulbs, and the ** pin breaks off again. ** is my predominant theme tonight. As well, believe me, I am going to inform Taylor-Morrison that their respective selection of your friggin’ lousy pieces of crap is corrupt and misguided. You suck, G.E.! I’m moving forward.

GE Stainless Steel Profile Dishwasher - My dishwasher is about 5 years old. Two years ago, we noticed that the gaskets, both around the tub and on the bottom of the door, were becoming gummy and rippling. We were hoping to make it another couple of years before buying a new dishwasher, but a couple of week ago, the top arm fell off because the gasket was so degraded. We ordered the appropriate parts and were only able to replace the top-arm gasket and the tub gasket. We had to call an authorized GE repairman, specifically RC Appliance in Sparks, NV. When he tried to get the gasket out, his hands turned black from the rubber. After about an hour of trying to get the new gasket installed, he had to use his pliers to crimp the gasket in place leaving large dents along the bottom edge of the door. He said the factory had crimped the old gasket in place at the factory from the other side. I am extremely unhappy about the workmanship and the fact that the gaskets did not last a reasonable time. I dont want to seek an attorney, but would rather GE contact me to discuss what must be done.

We had a GE dishwasher installed by the builder when the house we live in was built and it was one of the ones which were recalled as a fire hazard. We didnt really have any issues with it though, other than it was a bit noisy. With the credit offered, we decided to upgrade to a high end Profile model. The sound proofing is impressive and it was actually hard to tell the unit was on, but that is the only thing you can say that is good about the machine. As a dishwasher, it fails miserably and often items come out dirtier than when they went in. OK, weve struggled on with that for some time now but today, a nasty burnt plastic smell brought us both to the kitchen to investigate. Sure enough, the replacement for the fire hazard was the culprit. Obviously, it will need some serious repairs before it is safe to use once more. Looking through this and other sites, it seems this problem is rife and GE is reluctant to deal with the issues. Well I think that will be our last GE appliance. Thank you very much and rather than throw good money after bad, we will put the repair costs towards another machine ABGE.

This brand far above the Standards for this type of unit. This is my second purchase of this brand and I would recommend it above and beyond any other manufacturers. It’s very quiet and does a superb job of cleaning, and this dryer beats all the other. Keep producing this fabulous device, thanks.

This is the second GE microwave. In 2 years I have had that, the paint peeled off inside the microwave in sheets! I contacted GE the first time and was offered no help or explanation. I was told it was an older model, even though I bought it new. This time, I just chose to throw it away and never purchase another GE appliance again!

My GE dishwasher model #GDF570ddF855 is the worst dishwasher Ive ever owned. I have had 4. Ive had this model for 6 months. This model is hard to turn or to figure out if it is turned on. Right now its locked up and Im following the direction to unlock but it wont unlock. So theres no real on/off button! There needs to be a control on the inside of door where you can turn the lock button. Im writing this so others wont buy this model as they will be thoroughly dissatisfied. Maybe all GE dishwashers are like this? This one sucks...

Worst experience ever. Bought the dishwasher in Jan 2014. The washer does not wash. Three different technicians have passed by, cant fix the machine. Awful customer service, routine answers, file not assigned, cant talk to a manager.

My microwave is less than a yr old and has been serviced 2 times. It is not working right still and before it broke last time it would not turn off at all, would keep cooking with the door open! I have 4 small children and the 2 older kids use the microwave. I called GE and talked to customer service about replacing it. The lady said no and that they will repair it (again) but not replace it! Well it broke the 1st time before it was 6 mo old! This microwave is a lemon and they should make it right! It is a health hazard! This is a large microwave and was almost $200! Please someone listen to me, I need HELP!

We have never had a problem with the microwave. Most of our use has been heating things up. There has been a few times that our granddaughter made something else. It is lightweight. Easy to clean. Not too large or small. Fits what we use it for perfectly. Doesnt take up much room. It heats perfectly. It has been a really good microwave.

GE Profile dishwasher washes dishes, pots, and cutlery well. Nice capacity. Also has an antibacterial cycle which is handy when someone is sick. Doesnt have a grinder in the drain (which my KitchenAid had) so I rinse everything before I put it in the GE dishwasher.

First, I want to acknowledge that I misplaced my receipt due to a move, 8 storage units and 4 houses. But...I did register my new, never before installed dishwasher when it was installed October 2020. After install I ran it empty to test/clean it. IT LEAKED. I called GE to schedule repair. I was told it was manufactured in 2018 (another said 2019) and it was not under warranty. I explained I purchased it only a few months before and installation was delayed due to my contractors. They said I would have to pay for labor but the parts were covered under warranty. I didnt like it but agreed because I couldnt find the receipt (from a big box store).Local repair people came, after 2 more calls, 3 weeks later and fixed the leak. They did not run or check if anything else was wrong with the dishwasher. I began using it and quickly realized that it did not get the dishes clean. It does not heat the water, it does not dry, it cant possibly sanitize without heat and kitchen installer said it was missing the kick plate. Geez!! And this is just the things I know!! I have called 4 times now to schedule a service repair, each time having to explained the whole thing, sit on hold, ask to speak to a supervisor, be transferred to customer service and 4 times I have been DISCONNECTED!! I bought all GE appliances so they would match but I would give anything if I didnt have to deal with GE again!! Unfortunately, I will have to call again Monday or buy a different brand. Save yourself and buy another brand!!! Wish I could submit a picture.

We purchased a GE Model JVM 3160DF3WW microwave oven in October 2016. The handle broke on this unit the first week after we bought it. It then worked fine for 10 months. In August 2017 it began throwing the circuit breaker erratically, then whenever it was turned on and has not worked for a full day since. It has been repaired by Appliance Solutions of Utah at least 6-7 times (by two different technicians) and still has not worked. At least $500 worth of new parts have been put into a $200 microwave by them. After numerous calls to GE, they have offered to send me a Goodwill Certificate for the amount of purchase after I buy another GE microwave. With our experience with this microwave (inoperable and unrepairable for 5 months) I dont intend to buy another GE microwave; especially considering the one available locally is the exact same model as the one we have, which was purchased, from Sears, for $191.42. Appliance Solutions of Utah has all the records of the NUMEROUS unsuccessful repair attempts made on the unit since August 2017. I requested a refund so that a different unit could be purchased. Over the course of the past 5 months I have talked to at least four different customer representatives, after multiple hours on hold. None could find any record of the previous discussions. GEs final suggested solution was to offer us a $100 Goodwill Certificate, the title in itself being ironic. So, after buying a microwave which was defective in the first place, spending $75 to have it installed, being without the use of the microwave for five months, and being told that, GE does not offer refunds, that is what the company feels they should do to rectify the situation. Setting aside an implied warranty of fitness, the fact that the repair agents sent out by GE could not repair the microwave after numerous attempts would seem sufficient grounds to fully refund the purchase price. That is the least a reputable company would be expected to have done. GEs position is that the store selling the microwave would be responsible for a refund; apparently ignoring the terms of the warranty. I this point, I am considering filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and a claim in small claims court for Breach of Warranty. Obviously, the microwave was never repaired per the terms of the warranty as it is still inoperable and has never worked since the initial report to GE. We will NEVER buy another GE product; Buyer beware!

I have bought 3 GE appliances in the past 2-5 years, a microwave, dishwasher and oven with cooktop. They are all white and the white paint is peeling off. The microwave is the worst with most of the paint gone from the metal around the window inside. I will never buy another GE appliance again. To have 3 different appliances with peeling paint signals a definite quality control problem in the company.

My ancient GE Profile Spacemaker II Sensor microwave, the successor to its predecessor, is consistent, great performance, reliable. I chose this model because I was happy with its performance. But it could be less chunky. I would like to remodel my compact kitchen, and a sleek newbie non-chunky GE Microwave Oven would be awesome!!! :)

The dishwasher runs and works very well. It washes all dishes, pots, pans, glasses and silverware great. Weve never had any problems with this dishwasher thus far. I would recommend this dishwasher to anyone in the market.

We selected this microwave because it has a toaster and baking feature as our small kitchen would be better without a toaster oven taking up space. Turns out user must change accessories from glass to metal when using the toaster and baking feature. The space needed to store accessories rendered the space saving concept as useless. Also, the toasting is slow and does not quite equal what a toaster oven accomplishes. Also the baking/convection mode is so noisy, one cannot hear radio/tv. 30 minutes for a baked potato is a long time for excessive noise. We bought from Kitchen Solutions in the Bronx about May 2014.

GE over the range microwave JVM1540DP1WW - Within 1 year, the magnetron failed. I called the Sears service department to fix it. Because of that, I bought 2 more years of extended warranty. Three months after that, the microwave turned on by itself for 1 minute nonstop. I had to unplug it and call the service again. It would also turn on even when the door is open. Its very dangerous for microwave exposure!

The dishwasher does not clean my dishes and they say that there is nothing wrong with it. **! Now my microwave / convection oven is sending sparks in the corner of the oven. We bought a GE dishwasher model GDT720SGFWW thinking that GE was a reliable brand... What a disappointment! The first dishwasher we received was damaged and the door would not close properly. It took a week for GE to send a repair technician who confirmed that the unit was defective beyond repair. It took another week for GE to order a replacement unit and another week to get it delivered. The replacement unit arrived today and guess what? It is also damaged and the door will not close, same problem as the first one! Terrible products, slow service. I will never buy a GE appliance again!

We had a new GE Monogram dishwasher installed September 2014, a little over a year. We had a hose leak and it cost us $229.00. I do not recommend this product.

Dishwasher Disaster SR# TD729818B M# CDT765SSF1SS - Please, Please, Please, help me to come up with a solution with the issues that have plagued me and my family since we purchased the dishwasher referenced below in the numerous e-mails and electronic correspondence! As I write this E-mail, the GE Assigned warranty repairman has the dishwasher in question torn apart and disassembled for the 3rd time in the last month and half (Please see included photos). A repair I was told was only going to be minutes to conduct has now lasted over 3 hours and caused me to miss a very important appointment. That time frame will go at least another hour if the repair is even possible? Not to mention that a dishwasher that has been used less than 25 times has once again been torn apart and reassembled. I dont care how well built they are, this in my mind affects their performance!The repairman from JK Appliance has spent at least 12 man hours of repair time on the dishwasher, made a half dozen calls to your tech support (check your records), and has never spent less than 4hrs here on a visit. Once again, I have to be here for those visits (time out of my day) plus the stress of watching a brand new $1600.00 dishwasher dismantled time after time! At what point does G.E. make a decision that the amount of money being spent to repair a defective machine is not worth it?? I have to believe that 12hrs of repair time plus an hour of travel time for three separate visits each way, has already added up to the price of a new/replacement dishwasher?The other two G.E. appliances (microwave/Gas Stove) purchased with our remodel last year have performed flawlessly and we are happy with them. However, the trouble with the dishwasher has soured us on ever considering G.E. again! I plan on sending this E-mail and attachments to every consumer/watchdog group (Consumer Affairs) that Im aware of and to the store (Lowes- Farmington N.M) that the appliance was purchased at. This is not meant to be a threat, Im just at my wits end as to how to get to the end of this long tortuous journey that a simple appliance has caused for me and my family. Remodeled our kitchen back 6-7 years ago and bought GE Profile appliances from Home Depot... bad mistake. The microwave/convection oven came as one unit and now due to paint peeling on the microwave interior - inside top and sides we need to replace the entire unit to the tune of $2,500 plus. I called Home Depot and asked if there was a government mandated recall on the item... and they asked if we purchased the extended warranty. What? Does anyone know of a recall or class action suit on the following item: GE Profile Model: PT970SMISS. Manufactured December 2007.

RCA RMW953-White 0.9 cu. feet Microwave, 900-watts, 10-power levels, end cooking signal, glass turntable, 6-one-touch cooking menus, speed and weight defrost, cook by weight. Bubbles obscure text. I wanted a white microwave with a door handle, .9 and fairly powerful. I was glad to have found this microwave. But I dont know if the hole was there before, or my teenagers or I inadvertently put a small hole in the plastic covering over the control panel outside the microwave (NOT meant to be removed, I asked support) but now its become a larger hole as air got underneath. I cannot read the button text. I tried to cover it with scotch tape and thats not working.I searched and found out this is a common problem with GE microwaves. The buttons are very close to the bottom and therefore, countertop, so if you have a utensil or plate or something that sits near the microwave, it might nick the plastic coating. I called GE support (in India) and they said since its under warranty, I can return it. However Id have to pay shipping costs. Fortunately, I bought this at Wal-Mart (I hate to support this store but it was the only place I could find this style) and they have an excellent return policy and there is no charge for shipping. It was easy to call and request a shipping label within the generous warranty period. You might save yourself the trouble of a return or be very careful to not put a small hole in the plastic coating. Again, this is not protective coating for shipping, this is a permanent coating to protect the buttons.

I have owned my dishwasher for 5 years. Monthly, I use dishwasher magic to clean the inside, removing lime, minerals, rust and grease. The lower rack, under the silverware rack is completely rusted. I have used and owned dishwashers for over 35 years and not once has one rusted like this. Poor quality for the racks! I feel it should be replaced free of charge.

I bought GE Microwave JES1139BL03 in 2011 and the white paint inside has been peeling off. I think it is defective because I have had other brands and none of them have done this. This microwave was manufactured February 2011.

We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. The unit has failed miserably, and the company had failed us miserably. We are left with a pile of junk!

This microwave is nearly 20 yrs old and is still working great. We replaced the handle but other than that it has been great. I would definitely recommend the GE brand as it has been very reliable. I give this product a great rating.

I purchased a new Modular home. It came equipped with all GE appliances back in August of 2006. The dishwasher has recently been burning the basket prongs off, as apparently the coils are over heating! I had called GE about the danger of it being another recall. They informed me there would be an $89 service call. I dont have this kind of money; I am a senior citizen on Social Security. How can they charge me for a potential fire hazard?

I have had the GE Profile for approximately 8 years with no Issues. I learn something new it will do every now and then I had no idea was possible. I stillHave not conquered the convection baking and that is my fault. I need to use it more often since it wouldn’t heat up kitchen like the range does especially these hot summer days in Texas.

After a short four year history of not cleaning our dishes well, our four-year old GE Profile Quiet Power 6 QP6, model PDW9280N00SS, s/n-VM819634B, overheated and did not shut off and melted everything plastic inside. The house now has a horrible smell of burnt plastic. Ill start the process tomorrow of contacting the insurance company and looking to get this odor out of our home and a different brand of dishwasher into our home.

Coincidence or not but after posting my review, threatening to get the attorney general involved, putting pressure on local GE distributor through the builder, we have received a replacement dishwasher. This is not a happy ending yet unfortunately.The installer who delivered the unit was filling in for someone who took a day off and was not familiar with complete process. He came to our house at 9am and left at 2:20pm after spending hours reading instructions and maps on how to put things together.The new unit works okay for now but does have a slow drip from the upper left corner. This has been an extremely frustrating battle and we are now more worried about what happens after the warranty runs out if problems continue.One option is to buy extended warranty and give GE more business, second is just to replace it with more reliable brand. I am giving GE two more stars for replacing the problem unit but we are still hurt from the entire process, especially after buying top of the line product. We truly feel that customer service people should have been more sensitive and understanding of the consumer instead of firing back. Their bad attitude really did not help and added more frustration.

I bought one of the microwave ovens with two metal shelves. I found that the shelf in the middle of the oven was in the way and I removed it years ago, but left the top shelf in the unit. The other day, while cooking in the microwave it started to spark at the point where the shelf sat on a small clip. The inside of the oven is ruined. Why would anyone put metal shelves inside a microwave? Im just lucky that I was nearby and able to stop the fire before it destroyed my kitchen.

Very quiet and cleans a large volume of dishes. Love the silverware rack and the overall look of the dishwasher. Also great value for the money. Though we have only had for three years it has held up great.

I bought this microwave about 2 years ago (2011). Yesterday the microwave turned on by itself, I tried to stop it by hitting the clear button that didnt work so I had to unplug it. When I plugged it back in it seemed ok so I reset the clock but within minutes it started again, this time the key pad read key pad short-circuit and then went blank. I am glad I was home when it happened. I am now wondering if I should repair it or replace it.

GE microwave model JES1344ES. This is a stainless steel with black accent 1.34 cubic foot microwave oven. It looks great. The micro is heavy for its size. The stainless steel is brushed and low luster finish. The door handle is chrome as is some of the other accent pieces. The push button panel is easy to read and has a large knob for making manual time adjustments. The light inside is very bright. There is a rotating platter in the oven compartment that is not knocked off of its guide rollers very easy. The push button panel is a glossy black material that is easy to attract fingerprints. The preset times that are programmed in the microwave is the only part of the product that could be an issue. For example the popcorn button when used has burnt all of the different brands of microwave popcorn that we have tried. It is set about 30 seconds too long. There is no way to adjust the preset time that I can figure out. We set the time with the large knob manually and the popcorn comes out just fine. The preset times for the Auto Defrost are also a bit off. They are not long enough. We also have a Subzero freezer set at minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit so that may be too cold for the defrost presets. Overall the microwave is great except for the preset times that Ive mentioned. We use it daily and have done so for five years. It still looks excellent inside and out.

We bought the countertop stainless steel microwave model JES1142SJ the end of 2010. Noticed a rust ring under the revolving paint about a month ago. The paint was chipped off and when I washed it with a dish cloth, more came off. It is getting worse. We didnt stop using it since it seems it is only coming off under the plate but is it safe to continue using? Could it catch fire? Is it putting bad things in the food we heat in it? Even though it is not an expensive microwave ($100-$125) it should not be rusting inside. It should last longer than 3 years!Sounds like GE will not back up their products since so many microwaves owners are complaining about the paint being inferior and flaking off. There should be a recall for this problem on all microwaves sold by GE. Complaints have been from countertop to the most expensive dual stoves! This is not acceptable and GE needs to step up and deal with the problem with their microwaves that they sell. I usually buy GE; but this is making me have 2nd thoughts and think that my ones I bought in 2010 will be the last purchased from GE.They did come out twice for my range when the oven stopped working at 2 years and one of the eye knobs to turn on and off needed to be replaced when it would not turn off. But a 2 year old stove should not have needed any repairs. I noticed a big difference in quality after I bought this new one when we moved. My old GE from 1996 is still my favorite one and is still working just fine in my sons house.

Does not clean well nor dry well even on the more powerful cycles. I rinse off all the food and if anything is accidentally missed, it just gets baked on. Very disappointing. Also much of the upper rack item remain very wet at the end of the cycle. Drying issues: I use the most powerful drying cycle option but contents remain wet at the end of the cycle, especially plastics and top rack utensils. Not just damp, but large drops of water remain. Cleaning issues: Even when I use the heavy cycle, unless I remove all traces of food from the contents, the food remains and worse, now baked on. This model has a sanitized cycle so basically I use this dishwasher to sanitize only rather than clean, dry and sanitize. Completely unacceptable.

We bought this microwave (GE DE68-00307A) brand new 2 years ago and the paint is peeling off everywhere!!!! I keep my microwaves extremely clean, and this was not due to wear and tear by any means. I would say it started after about a year and a half of having it. I have showed multiple people and I cannot believe this is not on a recall list. This is extremely dangerous and could cause many issues. I am hoping someone can do something about this manufacturer and this product. This alone will make me never buy a GE product again.

We bought our first home a couple of years ago, and it came with brand new appliances. Never in my mind did I think I would need to buy a new microwave after 2 years. Our GE microwave stopped working after 2 years. I had microwaves in past that lasted for 10 years or more. Never again will I buy a GE appliances again. The quality sucks. Don’t waste your money.

While the microwave works fine, as far as microwaves go; it does heat unevenly but eventually gets the job done, the interior is cracked and shows signs of rust and deterioration. I dont remember ever seeing this on in previously owned microwaves. I would only use it for basic heating and reheating.

My prior GE ref was 13 years old. New one, now four months old, has cut my electric bill by 40%, runs much more quietly. It is a 15.3 cu feet side-by-side; the top area of the refer side has a bulky light cover that interferes with what you can put on the top shelf. The pockets on the inside door of the freezer side are a bit too small. But, all things considered, it's a great unit and I'd probably buy it again, considering the price.

We bought 6 new GE appliances when we purchased a new home. The reason: my husband worked for GE for 35 years and we wanted tell our friends how happy we are with them! Now, we are sorry we have to complain about the dishwasher (Model #GDWF160R1OSS). The only good thing about it is how quiet it is. We have tried many different soap products, a little soap, more soap, Rinse Aid, half clean or nearly clean dishes placed inside, only to have the glassware looking horrid, not clean and cloudy. Service man offered suggestions but none have worked. The stainless steel interior also looks horrid because of streaks. So much for energy efficiency when we have to wash all our glassware by hand to get the residue of soap off them. Another dishwasher we have had for 25 yrs. does an excellent job - so dont blame it on the phosphate removal from soap.

We moved in a newly built home and resided in this home for three years. The house came equipped with a GE Microwave: Model: JNM1541DM5BB, Serial: ZZ 201867 L. While in the house the microwave came on by itself with flames coming from the center of the unit. The plastic in the center of the unit was on fire. Had I not been home at the time this took place, I would not have a home to live in today. A review of the construction of this product is needed. An investigation to the cause of this mishap is needed.

GE Profile Advantium 120 when cooking on stove under microwave, the fan in the microwave goes on and does not go off for 30 minutes. This happens with only one burner on and stove not microwave set at 320. Had service out told there was nothing he could do. Called GE and again told that there was nothing they could do.

Purchased GE Dishwasher, Model GDF540HGD488. Its two or three years old and is junk. Top rack rails failing apart, bottom rack sliding rails have melted. Bottom sprayer has melted and wont stay on, incoming water has it bouncing on the bottom of the machine. As the heat dry is in it smells like melting or burning plastic. Dishes are NEVER clean and need re-washing. GE will do nothing, warranty off. Repairman says its just the type it is. Replacing it this weekend with a new Maytag, no way I would ever consider buying another GE product. Worst Dishwasher I ever owned.

My microwave is a GE, model JE 1040 made in 1998, which they probably dont make anymore. I use it several times a week, mostly to heat up leftovers and water. I thought that making a purchase of GE products would be a positive experience especially with GE Customer service - should they be needed for resolution of any complaints. Wow... was I wrong! I purchased a GE Microwave (junk), a GE refrigerator (junk & previously submitted a review), a GE Stove (no problem - so far) & a GE Dishwasher (junk) & this review is based on this product. All of the aforementioned GE products were purchased at the same time. The dishwasher began to leak & malfunction. I called GE & they put me through the paces - the beginning of another terrible experience. I was directed by GE & RC Willey to Consumer Electronics who send out a repairman who proceeded to rip me off for 165.00 for a part that didnt work! C.E. denied sending a serviceman to service the dishwasher! I returned to GE for help in getting my dishwasher back in service. The ONLY solution that they offered me was a replacement that I had to purchase! Bottom line the experience cost me close to 675.00!! The Original GE Dishwasher cost me 1,000.00!! GE refused to take the dishwasher back or even give me any type of credit for what I have. What I have now is another GE piece of junk that I had to pay full price for - $550.00 + tax, etc... The washer runs forever - does a terrible job in washing & rinsing & leaves a film & a white powder-like film on the glasses. Ive changed detergents in an effort to get a decent wash out of it & that hasnt worked. I am so sorry that I spent so much money for GEs Top of the Line appliances only to end up frustrated with GE Junk & a Customer Service Department that was just as good as their product. I would NEVER purchase or even think of purchasing another GE product!!! My advice to anyone considering purchasing ANY GE Product is Dont Do It.

My GE dishwasher is 34 years old and it still cleans every dish, pot, pan and silver spotlessly. It has never needed a repair and the racks are in near perfect condition.

We purchased a GE JVM6175EFES microwave oven in 2014 and are now on our 4th unit. When cooking food, condensation forms and drips down the wall behind the microwave. GE replaced it with another, but it was a rebuilt unit which when operated caused sparks and smelled of something electronic burning inside. So another unit was ordered and delivered damaged. Now after a year, the 4th unit is once again causing condensation on the back wall. GE has no answer or explanation for this problem and really doesnt seem to care. This is just one of several problems weve had with GE appliances. We also had to go thru 3 refrigerators to get one that was not damaged from the factory. We will be trying to replace the microwave with a different model, but doubt if GE will work with us to get this resolved as their customer service has been no help at all. DO NOT BUY GE appliances.

I like my microwave. It works alright but the fan on it is extremely noisy. This is the first GE microwave that is so noisy. Besides that it defrost food well, I like the different functions on this microwave. They work great.

I recently purchased an Adora dishwasher from Home Depot. The price was enough to suggest that it should be a good dishwasher, but its the worst dishwasher Ive ever owned. It does not clean dishes and it takes two hours to do it.

I have had the GE Unitized washer dryer for 4 months with no problems. It has the cycle choices I need for washer and dryer. It's easy to load and remove clothes, even if the washer tub is a little deep. It washes bulky comforters, coats, heavy denim, bathroom rugs just fine. The dryer is big and quiet. It works like a HE but uses all types of detergent. Great buy! Gave 4 stars for function only because all models do not have a "rinse only" choice.

However, the GE Monogram Microwave ($499 at Best Buy) broke down 17 months later, a few days before Thanksgiving 2015. GE claimed it was out-of-warranty, and I would have to pay $99 to have a technician look at it, and would charge for repairs. We are stuck with the GE Monogram Microwave as it is a built-in unit and our cabinet is built around it. So we went and got a new one from Best Buy. When the new one came and when we removed it from the box, it had a large dent in it - a very large one. It clearly indicates a shoddy QC job, as the unit should not have left the factory with such an obvious dent. We asked BEST BUY to replace it, but a new one is not going to come till after Christmas. So it was 2 strikes against GE Microwave ovens for me.We spoke to GE and they were not very sympathetic, and amazingly did not even apologize for the inconvenience caused!! They just stuck to their out-of-warranty mantra, which I understand. But then the occurrence of a second event with another GE Microwave, and the inconvenience of sending back a big dented one was also not acknowledged or perhaps even understood by their CS representative. So it is strike 3 against GE Appliances for me.I would never recommend GE microwaves and was totally disappointed with the Customer service of the GE Appliance division. I also have GE Cooktop and two GE wall ovens and shudder to think what will happen if they should break down. Just sharing a sad experience that holds some lessons for me and my family and friends. I purchased this Spacemaker Microwave Oven (HVM1540LP1CS) from Home Depot in Aug. 2010 along with a GE electric range (JB400SPSS). I wanted the appliances to match and they look very nice in our kitchen. Four days ago the microwave stopped working, that is, it comes on and appears to be working but does not heat the food placed in it. After looking on the internet, I found that other consumers have had the same problem and it appears the megatron is the culprit. The microwave was manufactured in March 2010 in Malaysia so it was not an older model that has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere.The cost to repair the microwave will be about $125 which is about half of what I paid for it. I will not repair this microwave just to have it fail in 20 months, General Electric should be ashamed of themselves for selling foreign-made products that do not last more than 2 years. My only hope is that the electric range we purchased does not follow the same course as the microwave, consumers should be aware of these problems before they purchase General Electric products.

I purchased the dishwasher in August. In September, two months later, it would not drain. GE sent a service tech out under warranty who found food particles stuck in the drain pump, removed them, put the dishwasher back together and went on his way. Since then, we have been basically rinsing the dishes clean before even putting them into the dishwasher as, obviously, this dishwasher cant handle much. I have also been keeping the drain filter screen spotless. Two months later, the drain is clogged again. GE sent a second tech out who said that the first tech should have repaired the dishwasher.The problem is that GE knows that the drain pump screen and the filter screens are inadequate and let food to pass through and block the pump. GE has redesigned the pump and the screens and filters and even added a filter to the design and we will get all these new parts installed for free and the dishwasher will then work as it should. Tech ordered the parts on 12/21. The service call was scheduled for tomorrow, 12/27. I got a call today from GE saying the parts had not been delivered. I know this because they are being shipped to my house and they have not arrived. GE called to reschedule the service call to January 6th, 2020--another week and a half away!!!! Clearly, this dishwasher is not working as it should and GE has a problem on their hands. I am now weighing my options as I sit on hold on GEs Customer Service line as I wait for someone to complain to. But as the dishwasher is still only a few months old, I am tempted to load it up and bring it back to the big box retailer from whom I purchased it and demand a refund. This is ridiculous!!!!

I have a newer (one-year-old) but base model GE microwave. I wasnt interested in lots of features, like convection cooking and such. I only use it to reheat coffee, occasionally heat a frozen meal, etc. It functions as designed, and Im very happy with it.

GE over the stove microwave stainless Steel Adora made for Home Depot. It started to make a funny noise and then it wouldnt heat. I contacted GE about the problem. It would be $89.00 to come out and an additional $25 for the double wall oven that would not stop beeping and would not work at all. We purchased a GE double wall oven at the same time as the microwave. All of our appliances were purchased in 2006. All GE and we are worried they are all junk. My husband took it to an appliance repair place and they said the Magnatron and the diode went on the machine. They said it is basically junk! Disgusted. Dont buy GE. They make junk! I just had to dispose of this piece of trash!

Not very satisfied with the functionality. Turntable does not work or has ever worked. Time features and power adjustments are not very intuitive. I would not recommend this brand, I believe there are other brands out there are much better for the same price range.

I bought the microwave in 2005. It is an above the stove type microwave, black color. It has been a great microwave for all of these years and still keeps going. I would buy a GE again. It has been a solid microwave and all parts but the turntable are still functioning after all of these years.

I bought this Microwave JVM3160 on December 2016, after six month the handle door broke but it was replaced as part of the warranty. By January 2018 (no more Warranty) it began tripping the circuit breaker. I change the power source for a dedicate circuit only for the microwave 20 AMP. The microwave blew its own fuse. I replaced its fuse. Then it blew the 20 AMP circuit breaker. That was enough. This microwave went to the garbage after 1 year and 2 month of use.

Cleans ok but not sure if its detergent or dishwasher but never seems to get all dishes completely clean. It may leave a ring in my tea cup so sometimes Ill have to clean it slightly to make sure it comes off. Basic settings on mine, nothing special. Good for plates and some Pyrex cookware but it would be nice if I could put larger pots in it. Very basic white in color but it is over 10 years old.

Have had my GE dishwasher for 15 years. Had initial problem with inner liner pulling away but got GE to replace unit. Has worked fine ever since. Nothing fancy just gets the dishes clean. Would have liked a bit more adjustability with the shelves.

The paint started peeling on the inside ceiling area of the microwave the end of the first year we bought it. I called GE and they claimed this was not harmful to the operation of the microwave. It was disgusting to have paint chips falling onto food we were cooking. Now almost all the paint is gone and there is some rust too. How can this be for cooking and what if some of the paint is accidentally ingested? If GE did not replace or offer to repair the problem. Stay away from GE microwaves is my advice.

This dishwasher model no. GDL6860N00SS and serial no. DM833394B was purchased in the summer of 2008 and has given me no problems until now. I used it last around 3pm on October 11, 2011 and apparently it was still heating up because my husband noticed a plastic burning smell the next morning. So he opened the dishwasher and it was burning hot! It had my granite countertop scorching hot, it also started to melt the bottle on the top of the counter. I think this could be a manufacturers defect.

We have a GE PROFILE dishwasher that has served us well for several years. Tonight, however, while it was doing the dishes the main circuit board caught fire. After turning the power off and trying to blow out the flame, we opened the door cover to find the main circuit board still smoldering. One of the relays on the circuit board had caught fire and started to burn through the circuit board melting it, the plastic cover and the wire harnesses. We were lucky to be home and awake when this happened and were able to take care of it. If we had been gone or asleep we probably would have lost our home!

Our GE microwave, manufactured in 2012, has been running fine, but the door handle has cracked on the bottom. Imagine my shock when I found the cheapest price for a PLASTIC handle was well over $100. How can this be?

I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

We moved into our home just over a year ago. We replaced all of the kitchen appliances; refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher with GE slate gray appliances. This was in November, 2014. On New Years eve (2016), the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. I removed the kick panel and saw water pouring from the pump. After the holiday, we finally got in touch with the appliance repair shop who handles GE warranty work in our area.They contacted GE on our behalf to see if GE would stand behind a product that was just over 1 month out of warranty. Bear in mind, this wasnt something simple like an indicator light burning out, this failure was catastrophic. GE basically told them (and us) to pound sand. We are a 2 person family. The dishwasher was used maybe twice a week during the year weve owned it. Amazing quality! Now Im looking forward to watching the rest of this stuff fall apart. It looks like the life span of the product and the warranty period are the same. How handy for GE. They must not have to depend on repeat business or take these negative reviews seriously.

My Quiet Power 3 model GLD4450N10CS didnt clean well from installation (July 2008). But I ran the heavy wash as the norm. And I never used heated dry in case I had to rewash any of the contents. I ran my dishwash last evening. I went out to dinner and returned to a burning smell in my house. I opened my dishwasher and smoke came out. The plastics were melted. The cabinet next to my dishwash smelt of burning as well. The detergent table sat partially dissolved on the bottom of the washer. It took 2 hours to cool down. My dishwasher no longer goes into a wash cycle (even after unplugging it overnight). I have left it unplugged as I feel it is no longer safe. GE says it is $80 for service plus parts. And they said that if I dont repair it, I get $100 certificate to use online to order another GE. Its not worth it and I am very upset. I replaced all my appliance in 2008 with GE. My dryer had to be repaired. My washer was a lemon and they swapped it out for a new model. And now my dishwasher died and almost burned my house down.

I like the design. The color works well in my kitchen and the oven works perfectly. It is just the right size and fits in the corner of my kitchen. I have no complaints.

Had model JES1460DS3BB less than 2 years. I started to smell burning plastic when using it. Research tells me the wiring is burning up. Im sick and tired of GE appliances. Ever since my GE toaster caught on fire in 1969 Ive had bad luck with GE. I gave the company another chance when I bought this microwave. I will never buy another GE appliance - large or small.

Purchased new from Lowes. Dishwasher leaked starting less than a month after purchase. I have had it serviced 3 times since purchase and have another appointment scheduled. (It takes 2-4 weeks to get a tech out to your house). Currently they say he is going to come by on Tues and check to see which part to order next and then they will come back and work on the dishwasher when the part comes in. (Of course the dishwasher is leaking as I wait). They give a 8-5 service window so I will just have to sit here and wait on him to come by and decide what to order. This is pathetic. When you buy a new GE appliance you need to be aware that they literally do not have any program for replacing flawed appliances.

GE factory services uses rude, discriminatory, evasive, procrastinating and unethical business practices to limit customers from claiming warranty. We have a non functioning dishwasher which is under warranty. This came as part of the appliance package given to us by the builder (Hallmark Homes) when we bought the house in December 2017. When we contacted GE customer service to let them know that the dishwasher wont work, they gave us a date after 2 weeks for sending their service professional. After 2 weeks, their service professional came in and behaved in an extremely rude and racist manner shouting at the top of his voice for the inconvenience caused to him for coming to repair the appliance. After connecting his computer to the appliance, he said it was fixed and left without even checking if the appliance was working correctly. Even after repeated requests to check the functioning of the device before leaving, he threatened to be physically violent if we still pestered him to stay. After he left, we realized that the dishwasher wasnt fixed when we ran a wash cycle. We again contacted the customer service to let them know that the issue isnt fixed and requested them to expedite things to get it fixed. They said that we will get the next date for a service appointment again after two weeks and there is nothing they could do. After living the nightmare of washing dishes for more than a month, the same service professional came in again and repeating his similar rude, racist, unethical and threatening behavior left without fixing the issue. He said that GE appliance is not owned by GE anymore and hence nobody cared about what happens to the customers. He again passed the buck to the customer service and said I needed to take up this issue with them. In this whole back and fort, we are left devastated without having our dishwasher and living the nightmare for more than a month.

Purchased my first GE dishwasher 3 -4 years ago, it died, one month before the warranty ran out, they sent a repairman at no charge, acted like he did not know what he was doing, mumbled something about a part and left saying they would return with a part 2 weeks later he comes back and says that they cannot fix it and they sent me a replacement dishwasher free of charge, 13 months later and it died, So I bought a more expensive GE dishwasher thinking it would last, wrong, 15 months later and its dead, went to parts select and troubleshooted it, ordered all parts recommended to fix the issue and its still dead, these parts cost me 300, so I contacted GE to see what they had to say, no help at all except to only charge me for 50% of parts, I have to pay for house call and labor and installation, gee what a deal NOT bottom line, GE dishwashers are junk, dont buy them.

My GE microwave works perfectly for microwaving and baking. It is also a convection oven and it works as well for baking as the microwave component does for microwaving. It is roomy and accommodating. Ive had the microwave for 10 years and have never had a problem with it.

The microwave is small enough for 1 person and yet big enough for a family of 4. I feel it cleans up pretty easily also, inside and out. This is also a stainless steel on the outside, that makes it easy to clean.

Purchased a microwave 5 weeks ago. When cooking it smells like something is burning. GE would only issue a goodwill certificate. Now Im forced to buy another GE product. After taking the cover off its clear that one of the connectors actually melted. It bubbled up and turned black. Because of this and the fact that other reviewers had the same problem. I dont want to buy another GE product. I dont think its unreasonable to get a refund since its only been 5 weeks. If I have purchased at a different store with a longer return policy I would be able to just bring it back to the store. Apparently the quality of GE products has gone down. I would not recommend.

Purchased my GE Profile series dishwasher several years ago and it has served me well over countless cycles. There have been a couple of occasions that it required repairs (water leaking) but had been done so under warranty conducted by an actual GE tech. When this unit finally reaches its usable service life I’m most likely to consider a GE unit again.

It popped and acted as if something that should not be microwave several times, although the contents were fine. Finally it caught on fire. I had it for a year and used it mainly to warm up my coffee. Never popped popcorn or used in meal. I will not buy GE again. I work too hard for my money.

Three nights ago, I loaded my GE Profile Dishwasher, model # PDW9880L00SS and began the wash cycle. The wash cycle completed and I went off to bed leaving it on the dry cycle. The next morning I smelled a burning smell but did not know where it was coming from in my home. A few hours later, my husband began searching all of the appliances in our home to see what the burning smell was. When he opened the dishwasher smoke came out of it and everything in it was completely burned. Apparently the drying mechanism never turned off after the wash cycle or it turned itself back on only on the dry cycle. I dont know. But I know one thing for sure, we are lucky that my husband was home because I left and if he wasnt there, Im positive that the dishwasher would have caught on fire causing severe damage to our home. I will never purchase a GE appliance again. Note, I also have problems with my GE refrigerator and my GE Profile microwave and our dryer. Weve had to replace the dryer and the microwave and weve repaired the refrigerator. I have a repair person coming out to see if the dishwasher is repairable, but I dont think it will be. This is terrible.

I bought a GE dishwasher 2 years ago. The control board went out so I had a repairman come to fix it. They had to order the board from GE directly and it took 1 month or more to get the part. Then it lasted one day! Now they are telling me it cant be fixed. Really??? I expect a dishwasher to last longer than 2 years. I also bought a GE microwave that only lasted 2 years. I replaced it with Whirlpool. GE is crap now and that use to be all I bought. Not anymore. I will never spend any money on GE appliances any more.

My GE DVM5140DN1BB Serial # ZS 902371B manufactured in December 2009 has stopped functioning. It looks and sounds like it is working but it will not heat. GE only guarantees their warranty for 1 year after the date of purchase. This should have been my first clue. For a fee, they will come look at it.Growing up we had an Amana Radar Range. My mom bought it in 1987. I replaced it so that I could save counter space and also that it would match my other kitchen appliances. I bought the GE microwave in May 2010. This product lasted for a total of 16 months. Ridiculous! In my opinion, big business companies no longer have to be held accountable for producing bad products. Money was lost but will never again be spent on a GE product.

GE profile microwave convection - over the gas range. Oven temperature does not heat up more than the 370 degree, even if its set to maximum (450 degree). I purchased 4 ovens in the past year, all have the same defect.

GE is a very reliable name brand with history to back it up. I’ve used their washing machines for years and only changed out once due to newer features. I had Thebes first washer for at least 10 years, maybe a little more. It only needed one part replaced, that was the capacitor, otherwise it was still usable. I am not an in depth handy person but I will read and do my research and found directions doable. Additionally, I found the service help desk very informative and that’s how I discovered it was the capacitor that had gone bad after washing clothes for so many years, and believe me, I did a lot of cycles with my kids and family. I feel I got more than my money's worth. Lastly, I’m still using their products to this day. I may not have the frequency because we are empty nesters but I still believe in their products,

Soon after getting our new Cafe Microwave CVM2072SM3SS the control panel died. I called GE and power cycling got it going again. This is an over the stove microwave, so we were also told by GE not to use the right front burner without the fan on boost. The problem persisted from time to time and steadily got worse over our 5 years of ownership. Reading the internet this was a common problem known to GE but they took no action to contact owners. The panel is now dead and my only option, having tried the fixes on Youtube, is to invest money starting at $108 for an inspection or buy a new Microwave. My entire experience with this product has been a big disappointment as I also own a GE Cafe range, fridge, and dishwasher.

I wish I had found this complaint section before I purchased my microwave. Bought model HVM1750DP1CC in May of 2010. Now, 3 years later, all of a sudden theres no power to the unit. The wall outlet is fine. There were no storms around here when it went out. It just seemed to fry itself! The repair/troubleshooting instructions tell you to get a licensed technician to check this and check that because of the voltage. They give you a flowchart to troubleshoot it yourself, but no pictures to go with the diagram. Sure I can check the fuses, if I knew where they are!GE - NEVER AGAIN FOR ME. Wish we still had good-valued products Made in the USA. This one is made in Malaysia. NOT WORTH IT. Time to sell the GE stock too. Their products suck and class action suits will probably follow. Now out of warranty, my 4-year-old microwave (sadly, the top oven of a double wall oven), has been flaking and peeling paint. It is totally unsafe and unusable.

We purchased 3 GE Profile Appliances when we remodeled our kitchen. It turns out that they are junk. The microwave and the refrigerator have had to be repaired several times and the dishwasher went downhill very fast and we had to replace it as it was not cleaning the dishes correctly. We now are living with a microwave that has peeling paint that I hope is not damaging our health that they would not do anything about. And a refrigerator that was repaired today at the cost of almost $400 and it still is not cooling down. So now I have to wait 48 hours for another service call. Dont buy GE unless you want Junk!

Ever since I bought this dishwasher in Jan 2014 it hasnt dried properly. Finally had a tech come out and he told me the water wasnt hot enough. How is it energy efficient if I have to raise the heat in my water heater to get the dishes to dry???? Very dissatisfied! My old dishwasher (with plastic lining) dried the dishes with no problem. I had it for 16 years before I had any problems with it. This new one is a problem from the first time I used it. No GE ever again!

We had a GE microwave that my parents got when I was in elementary school that lasted us through graduation (when I got it), and it then lasted me another 6 or 7 years after that. It was a great microwave, so we went with GE for our next one. What a mistake that was. The new one died completely less than a year after we got it (less than a year after its manufacture date at that!). The one after, one of the same make and model, lasted 3 years to the month after its manufacture date. Sorry GE, but I just do not have any interest in spending so much for so short a lifespan on your products, and its a damn shame that your quality has suffered so badly that you have lost a once-loyal customer of your brand.

We remodeled our kitchen and bought full line of GE café appliances which we have not been happy. Microwave screen cracked in the first three months; refrigerator is at max cooling but still does not cool or freeze enough; dishwasher has never cleaned well and marks my dishes with gray streaks and its control panel quit working and had to be replaced. They said that it was my soap, water etc., even though it never happened with previous dishwasher. All this in the first ten months of ownership of a couple with no family at home. Servicemen were nice and polite but their products are crummy. Dont buy them.

I have to agree with other post about the customer service. Our dishwasher is only 15 months old. First call went fine after that everything is with email. Tried calling several times to get correct parts shipped after only getting one of three needed, I called and finally after 45 minutes an agent answered. After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. Now waiting for a new assessment of what the issue might be and hopefully will be able to get the parts without issue.

I have just purchased a new GE dishwasher because mine just broke after 35 long years of excellent service. I am so completely satisfied with your GE products, and I would like to tell you also that the double oven stoves are still working well.
