Emptying out the dishwasher I purchased in October 2016 is a cause for rage these days. Dishes, glasses, silverware, etc...come out of any wash cycle dirtier than they went in, though I have tried everything I can think of to see if anything at all can make it better. I purchased the dishwasher from BEST BUY. Little did I know, they dont take anything back after 15 days of purchase. They promptly referred me to GE. In turn GE reps said that their warranty only covers REPAIRS for the first year. In short, sucker me who spent near to $600, is stuck with a VERY BAD product from the moment I paid for it. And there is nothing I can do about it!!! GE IS CLEARLY SCAMMING ITS TRUSTING CUSTOMERS!!! I have been robbed!!!

Dishwasher Disaster SR# TD729818B M# CDT765SSF1SS - Please, Please, Please, help me to come up with a solution with the issues that have plagued me and my family since we purchased the dishwasher referenced below in the numerous e-mails and electronic correspondence! As I write this E-mail, the GE Assigned warranty repairman has the dishwasher in question torn apart and disassembled for the 3rd time in the last month and half (Please see included photos). A repair I was told was only going to be minutes to conduct has now lasted over 3 hours and caused me to miss a very important appointment. That time frame will go at least another hour if the repair is even possible? Not to mention that a dishwasher that has been used less than 25 times has once again been torn apart and reassembled. I dont care how well built they are, this in my mind affects their performance! The repairman from JK Appliance has spent at least 12 man hours of repair time on the dishwasher, made a half dozen calls to your tech support (check your records), and has never spent less than 4hrs here on a visit. Once again, I have to be here for those visits (time out of my day) plus the stress of watching a brand new $1600.00 dishwasher dismantled time after time! At what point does G.E. make a decision that the amount of money being spent to repair a defective machine is not worth it?? I have to believe that 12hrs of repair time plus an hour of travel time for three separate visits each way, has already added up to the price of a new/replacement dishwasher? The other two G.E. appliances (microwave/Gas Stove) purchased with our remodel last year have performed flawlessly and we are happy with them. However, the trouble with the dishwasher has soured us on ever considering G.E. again! I plan on sending this E-mail and attachments to every consumer/watchdog group (Consumer Affairs) that Im aware of and to the store (Lowes- Farmington N.M) that the appliance was purchased at. This is not meant to be a threat, Im just at my wits end as to how to get to the end of this long tortuous journey that a simple appliance has caused for me and my family. Yes, there are certainly more pressing problems in the world, but right now this is the one that is currently affecting my family and the happiness in our home! Please advise if there is another route that I need to go with this problem including any alternate points of contact (GEs Escalated Issues department). My phone number is ** and maybe a simple personal call of apology from someone at G.E. explaining what my alternatives are would be considered? Thanks for your time and consideration.

I bought a GE Profile dishwasher 3 years ago. After two weeks it was broken. I called Mabe Appliances and they sent out a tech. He told me it was broken. When I called Mabe back the service people told me to read the manual...yes really. Finally after a lot arguing they replaced it. About a day after the 1 year warranty expired all but one of the cycles stopped working. I have to take it apart every 3 months to clean out the water output as its clogged and the water doesnt have any pressure and therefore does not clean the dishes. I got up this morning and the dishwasher was still running but there were no lights on the front of the unit. I turned it on around 8pm so it was running for 11 hours. When I opened the door it was apparent it had been stuck in the wash cycle the whole time. It is now completely dead. Nothing works. No lights. WHAT a piece of JUNK. How can GE put their name this crap? STAY AWAY FROM GE APPLIANCES. Spend a little more and get a Samsung or LG or Bosch.

I have had two service calls on this dishwasher (Model Number GDT65SMJ0ES) and it is 18 months old. The first was to replace the heating element, which was under warranty. The recent problem was a cut-off switch that will trip when needed. The technician hooked up his computer to turn it back on, a very quick procedure, and it cost us almost $100. This unit should have a trip switch like a vacuum or garbage disposal so that the owner can do it themselves. After that, if the dishwasher still doesnt work, then a call for repair could be made. By the way, the repairman was very nice and respectful to us.

Purchased an entire kitchen suite of GE appliances. Almost instantly the fridge started making loud noises which the repairman told me was normal. LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS. I wear earplugs in my house to avoid the noise! Secondly, the dishwasher started leaking and the warranty company is refusing to honor the warranty so Ive been hand washing dishes since August! They also refuse to refund the extended warranty fee. Currently filing a protest with consumer fraud. STAY AWAY FROM GE, isnt that a shame! THEIR PRODUCTS ARE JUNK!

To inform others that need an under-cabinet space-saving microwave, unless you are replacing an existing GE unit (and want the mounting brackets to align for easy re-installation), I would strongly suggest getting a different unit. I am about to buy my third GE undercounter microwave for the past 11 years. The rest of my kitchen is pretty high-end Thermadore, Kitchenaide, ASKO, and Braun. My last Profile PEM 31 DMBB lasted less than three years. The Toshiba that I bought while deployed to Okinawa lasted 15 years.

GE dishwasher GDT680SSH2SS - I don’t normally do product reviews... In this case, I am making an exception. This is without a doubt the very worst dishwasher I have EVER owned. I’m pleased with myself for buying the optional insurance when I bought the dishwasher from Home Depot. It has been repaired 6 times. It even had to have the main seal replaced. It flooded my kitchen and ruined my floor. My homeowners insurance sued GE. I think it worked fine for only 6 months...then it went downhill. It is extremely loud! It sounds like your dishes are being destroyed... No, I’m not exaggerating!I have NEVER had issues like this. I bought this GE as I really like the screen bottom so that large particles didn’t get caught up inside the pump etc... As I’m typing this, I have it set for Sani wash and the water isn’t hot at all, and it had standing clean water in the bottom when I opened it up this morning. I will also note, I rinse all my dishes before putting them in. I will never buy GE anything again.

I bought a brand new GE Spacesaver OTR mount Microwave (Model # jnm1851dmbb) and had installed in my new home by the appliance shop where I purchased it in November, 2010. I am a widow and I use the microwave maybe 3-4 times per week, and take very good care of it. I went to steam some fresh veggies this evening and the whole unit just went dead. There’s no fan, light, or keypad. It is plugged in and I did not blow a fuse or switch. I checked them all. It’s just plain broken after less than 2 years of very light use. It’s a piece of junk! I’ll be buying another brand this time. I will never buy a GE again! It’s a junk, junk and junk!

I bought GE Profile dishwasher (PDT750SSFSS) from Home Depot on Sept 2014. First week it had some drying issue and GE service technician told no issue with dishwasher. After 4 months, electronic control board stopped working and GE service technician replaced the board. It worked for about a month and again same control electronic board failed and need to be replaced by GE technician. Again within a week again board failed for 3rd time. This time I asked for a replacement from GE since same board failed 3 times but GE refused to replace and told they can only repair and cannot give a replacement of dishwasher. Again for 4th time same control board failed now and I have contacted Home Depot for help. I dont know what to do this time and I dont want to repair this dishwasher anymore. It is only June 2015 and it had been repaired for more than 4 times. Ill try through Home Depot to get a replacement, if not Im planning to go through consumer court and file case against GE Profile. I would appreciate if somebody can help in resolving this issue and you can contact me through my email.

An unknown continual leak has caused substantial black mold, warped sub flooring and cracking of very expensive Saltillo tile of which weve had to remove. GE should be accountable and will be. My dishwasher broke within warranty in April 2014. The warranty expired on April 29th, 2014. Every 2 weeks another part was ordered to the tune of 10 parts and 8 visits (unpaid work days for me). I have been in touch with consumer relations about this and I was told that this would go on forever until their techs deemed the dishwasher as unrepairable but as long as it is repairable, they will not exchange the machine. And now they are telling me (October) that I could have had another service provider fix it but I would have to pay for it because NOW it is out of warranty. I cant wait until I replace my GE refrigerator and my GE microwave because those are the last GE products that I will ever buy. I went out last month and bought another brand as I will never buy GE again. GE protocol I am told is what determines all that happened. I suggest you do the same. I am writing a long letter to GE just to get it off my chest. Nothing will be done because its another corporation all about the money!!!!

All GE could offer is a Good Will certificate which means, we have to go buy another GE microwave up to $155 in value. We pay taxes, shipping etc. Not really a customer-centric return policy for a lousy designed product made from cheap components in Asia. These microwaves are a piece of junk. First of all, I wish I had seen this site over two years ago and I wouldnt have purchased a GE product. But, that is spilled milk. My two year old microwave, GE 1750 over the range, started running on its own. I disconnected it and called GE and asked if they had experienced any problems with their product and if this was a fire hazard, the nice young lady put me on hold and did research and stated that no reports of a fire hazard or running on its own. My husband encouraged me to do my own research and guess what? shocking, I was lied to! There are reported fires on the news and a law firm has a class action lawsuit against GE! I guess because this appliance wasnt in the nice young ladys moms house it wasnt of importance to inform me of the fire hazard? GE is off of my list of products I would buy!

It works well. We like this newer GE Profile with many preset buttons such as for different times and food types, and defrost. The last GE Profile MW we got had a knob that got loose right away and hard to use, like a dial-up AOL, so this upgraded model is much more convenient. I like the bigger plate size, and that the turntable can be turned off if we put a rectangular casserole dish in there.

I just dont know how to start to show how disappointed and upset Im about this Microwave. I know GE is good brand but this Microwave must be the worst. I bought this microwave between July or August in 2016. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt. I bought a cash at Home Depot in my area, because I bought it cash Home Depot unable to find a record of but they remembered I did buy there between that time. I know bought that time because I bought my house in July 20116. This microwave started giving problems since June 2017. When I call GE they told me, they cant help because I dont a receipt, and they told from their record, this microwave was purchase in January 2015, they didnt want to believe that I purchased it in 2016.They charged over $100 to have a technician to come, he has to order a part that cost as well over $100, when the part comes another technician came. It was the wrong part. He had to order another part. The technician came back and Microwave work for only 1 or 2 months and stop working. Its been very stressful with this Microwave. This microwave was the most expensive, I bought over $500-600. Even though from your record you said I bought it in 2015, it still unfair, no one expect to buy something that expensive and break down that fast. I dont what to do. Im just so frustrated about the whole situation. This microwave cost me about $ 1,000 now from price to repair, and yet still not working. I wish someone reply to me and help me, if no one help I never wish to buy a GE product. So Sad GE, I need HELP.

We built a new home in 8/19. Much to our dismay, the builder only offered GE appliances. We had a bad experience with a GE appliance in the past so we went with the most expensive offered, the Profile series. Nine months into our new home, the microwave push button to open the door broke (with food stuck inside). I was only able to schedule an appointment through an automated system. Days later, repairman breaks door trying to get food out. Parts were ordered and new date was set for one week later. Day before that appointment, I got a call canceling my appointment due to the part being on backorder. The entire call took 57 minutes. New appointment was set for an additional week. Again, appointment canceled and part was ordered from third party. Third appointment was a repeat yet again (but without a call and with repairman showing up). The rep did say she would send $70 for us to buy a small microwave while waiting. We are now at three weeks without our microwave being fixed and I have spent HOURS on hold trying to get to a resolution. Last representative asked why I even made an appointment if I didnt have the parts. What!! They have scheduled the appointments. I asked to talk to a supervisor but then was told it would be 24-48 hours before someone could call me back. The rep said this is the timeframe they quote for a callback but she didnt know when anyone would actually call. No idea how much longer we will have to wait-it seems we are at their mercy. When buying new appliances in the future, we will ask who services their warranty! Either way, we will never buy GE appliances again.

I just remodeled my kitchen back in May of 2012. My wife and I started looking for the appliances and we decided to get the GE Cafe series set (dishwasher, cooktop, electric oven and microwave). Our microwave oven, model CVM1790SS1SS, developed a humming noise as soon as you closed the door. It does sound like the magnetron is on. To verify that, I filled a cup with cold water and I put it inside and closed the door without setting any cooking time. After three minutes, the water was too hot to touch. I called GE and told them that it was a fire hazard. They sent one of their technicians and he determined that it was not a fire hazard and if I wanted it fixed, I have to pay for it. How could he say its not? If I close the door, the oven is going to continue heating up until it burns itself and everything else around it. I am pissed at GE because this unit is barely one year old and expensive. This is a safety hazard and GE failed to acknowledge. Bottom line, Ill never buy GE again and will not recommend it to anyone.

GE continually shows us why they are failing as a company. In just this last year I have replaced a less than 5 year old GE microwave, three separates parts to my GE monogram refrigerator, and now this one and a half year old dishwasher. The only appliance that GE makes that hasnt broken is the stove/oven that is over 10 years old and shows no signs of weakening.I purchased the upgraded stainless steel model that contained all the bells and whistles. It lasted 1 year and 3 months before the entire control panel stopped working. We utilized the dishwasher about once a week or once every two weeks in a two person household. Hardly a rough environment for a 700$ appliance. The repair costs was quoted for 99$ just to have GE look at it. The control panel was 140$, plus additional labor. This amounts to over 280$ to repair a year old product. I advise buying LG or Bosch.

Bought a GE Dishwasher on March 31st 2017. Used it in April & May, left June 1st for the summer so dishwasher was not used for 2 mo. Tried to use it in August when we got back it didnt work. Would not pump water. Called GE. They sent a service tech. out, replaced the pump, still didnt work. So next week they came out again & this time ordered a Computer board. Ever since then they have came out twice a month to repair dishwasher. Always something different. I requested 3 different times to have it replaced they refused. So I straight up asked if they were just trying to run me out of warranty & then drop me. Well, guess what - they came out for the last time on 4/5/2018 to repair it for the last time out of warranty. They turned me down every time to just replace it. WORST PRODUCT EVER. So I was forewarned by my family of nightmare experiences they had with GE appliances over the course of the last 50 years of our family. I just bought a home with 2 GE dishwashers that are both under 5 years old, and both are malfunctioning terribly. The one has leaked from the bottom and created severe water damage, and the other will not drain. Just an affirmation of the bad experiences my family has had in the past. Cheaply made, and often the go to appliances installed in manufactured and new homes. Had a service technician come out after speaking with GE on the phone and they assured me it was cost free. After the technician came out and told me I was being billed $105 for the call, and it would cost an additional $255 to fix the washing machine. The tech was not very friendly or helpful, and his only concern was collecting the bill. Avoid these products!

We bought 6 new GE appliances when we purchased a new home. The reason: my husband worked for GE for 35 years and we wanted tell our friends how happy we are with them! Now, we are sorry we have to complain about the dishwasher (Model #GDWF160R1OSS). The only good thing about it is how quiet it is. We have tried many different soap products, a little soap, more soap, Rinse Aid, half clean or nearly clean dishes placed inside, only to have the glassware looking horrid, not clean and cloudy. Service man offered suggestions but none have worked. The stainless steel interior also looks horrid because of streaks. So much for energy efficiency when we have to wash all our glassware by hand to get the residue of soap off them. Another dishwasher we have had for 25 yrs. does an excellent job - so dont blame it on the phosphate removal from soap.

I also bought a stove as well as the dishwasher. We Told them with great concern to put a extra warranty on the more expensive item, which was the dish washer... more could go wrong. We all agreed, including sales person. Day before the first year, the dish washer was not draining good. They said the warranty was running out. I told them, I had got extra yr warranty. The robot voice said it might be over. The repairman came in, and said the same thing. The repairman replaced everything in the dishwasher. It took him 3 visits. He got it working. He claimed there was an extra orange ball in the part and that why it didnt drain well.I started using it for 2 weeks and it stop draining completely. When I bought it the salesperson said, See I added the extra warranty on. But unbeknownst to me, she put it on the stove... How the heck am I supposed to know she did it wrong. I call the company and they said, Look at your receipt. And sure enough, it was on the stove. Looking at it and how the salesperson made it sound, it was understood by all that the warranty was on and I had an extra yr on the dishwasher... I looked at the receipt. Had a list of what I bought the warranty and we were good to go. Everything was replaced in it, everything. It was a mechanical issue and yet here it sits not working and I havent even paid for it. I am disabled and was give a lemon. I would never recommend a GE anything. This was a first... I usually buy Whirlpool and never ever had a problem... Theyre selling lemons and they know it.

Has anyone experienced a plastic burning smell when the dishes are drying? My dishwasher is 3 years old and I wash on Light cycle which is suppose to be 45 minutes long but goes for 85 minutes. Company said to turn off circuit breaker and turn back on and it should be fine, it isnt. Last two times I used the dishwasher it wouldnt completely shut down so I had to do it manually and before I did this I could smell a plastic burning smell but there was nothing on the elements. I called for a service call but they were shut down for 4 days.

I purchased the GE Cafe dishwasher in March 2010. Starting in January 2012, some of the keypad options stopped working. Then in April 2012, the keypad stopped working completely and I could no longer get it to turn on. I did call GE for repair. When the repair person was out to fix it, they said that this model has a design flaw. It was originally designed to sit 1 below the countertop so that the heat could release without shorting out the keypad. However, that would require a person to somehow raise their entire counter or fit the dishwasher below the floor somehow. GE was aware of the problem but decided to ignore the problem. That means that even though my keypad was replaced, the same problem will occur again and again no matter how many times the keypad is replaced. I paid over $1400 for this model, and the labor charges alone cost me $200 for the repair. I think it is absolutely despicable that such a large company has allowed a high-priced, defective product to go out into the market, knowing that a major malfunction will occur out of warranty in such a short period of time.

We purchased a GE Profile dishwasher because our old one was recalled for fire hazard and we were offered a rebate on a new one, and told there was no fix for the old one. On the new Profile dishwasher, the water inlet valve stuck open and flooded our home. Tech said we may as well have had a hose on full blast all night. Word to the wise, do not turn your dishwasher on and go to bed or leave the house! 7 1/2 hours later we woke to a completely flooded downstairs. When we were researching whether or not there were other complaints on that model dishwasher, we noticed there had been a recall for fire hazard ON THE NEW DISHWASHER! Since this is located right under our bed, we were fortunate though not happy about the flood! We have exceeded the 40K mark in damages and the assessments and estimates are still coming in. We will never own another GE product, though we recently purchased a stove with a double oven which is thus far wonderful. GE has also recently been purchased by Electrolux. We chose a Bosch for our new dishwasher.

Sometimes there are dishwashing detergent (powder) left on the dishes. Nothing extra, very basic, it has regular or pot scrubber cycles, air dry or heat dry, a slot for dry rinse liquid, detergent slot, short wash cycle, upper rack, lower rack and flatware basket. Came with the house purchased 17+ years ago. White body with black upper control panel the entire width of the dishwasher. It is still in very good condition, but then I take care of everything, always rinse everything before placing them in the dishwasher. Never needed service yet.

We purchased a GE over-the-range microwave oven last November 2010 and it was installed in February 2011 when our addition was finished. Last week, it decided to stop responding to instructions. When the door is closed, it just continues to run--the turntable turns, the light stays on and the fan keeps running. It will respond to instructions, but when we want to shut it off if the door is shut, we have to unplug it--which is a real pain because it is over the range. We have an old microwave that was my wifes parents and it still works fine even though it is about 20 years old. The new one stops working in a little more than a year which is not acceptable. We contacted GE and were told that we would have to pay over $100.00 to get the thing fixed. I dont think so. We will not purchase anything GE again.

We bought a new $700+ Stainless Steel dishwasher 10 months ago. It has failed on several occasions, and we have been without a fix or replacement for months. We are forced to have 5 service calls, none of which have fixed it. We have been hand washing for a family of 6 for months now, and GE Consumer Relations is totally unwilling to replace it, but rather continue sending out the same service tech with no new parts or ability to correct the problem. It is the definition of insanity while we are left holding the bag. Totally unwilling to do the right thing and it is maddening to say the least. 3 months of back and forth about our need to have it replaced, and their answer is send another service person who are now 0-5. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had in any situation for anything.

Purchased new from Lowes. Dishwasher leaked starting less than a month after purchase. I have had it serviced 3 times since purchase and have another appointment scheduled. (It takes 2-4 weeks to get a tech out to your house). Currently they say he is going to come by on Tues and check to see which part to order next and then they will come back and work on the dishwasher when the part comes in. (Of course the dishwasher is leaking as I wait). They give a 8-5 service window so I will just have to sit here and wait on him to come by and decide what to order. This is pathetic. When you buy a new GE appliance you need to be aware that they literally do not have any program for replacing flawed appliances.

We moved into our home just over a year ago. We replaced all of the kitchen appliances; refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher with GE slate gray appliances. This was in November, 2014. On New Years eve (2016), the dishwasher flooded the kitchen. I removed the kick panel and saw water pouring from the pump. After the holiday, we finally got in touch with the appliance repair shop who handles GE warranty work in our area. They contacted GE on our behalf to see if GE would stand behind a product that was just over 1 month out of warranty. Bear in mind, this wasnt something simple like an indicator light burning out, this failure was catastrophic. GE basically told them (and us) to pound sand. We are a 2 person family. The dishwasher was used maybe twice a week during the year weve owned it. Amazing quality! Now Im looking forward to watching the rest of this stuff fall apart. It looks like the life span of the product and the warranty period are the same. How handy for GE. They must not have to depend on repeat business or take these negative reviews seriously.

New liners needed in oven which was so rusted we couldnt get the screws out to replace the originals. Was told by GE customer service rust to be expected when cooking. It creates steam and food particles can cause scratching!!! Maybe it should be steam proof especially a microwave. Even the door on this is rusted! Why the shelf ends in a freezer are rusted not sure on that one! Will NEVER buy this brand again and shame on them my upgraded appliances dont even make it to 10 yrs. A disgrace. My mother just replaced her 20 yr old oven. What is wrong that nowadays things dont last 5 minutes? Shame on you GE not recognizing a definite flaw in your products.

I called GE service and when they came the technician said needs seal mat and offered to repair (the dishwasher has been installed in the garage since the water that comes out flood the kitchen floor and we cant afford having the floor damaged). But I had no faith whatsoever in this dishwasher (I was told if the problem happen again and damage my floor they will only offer to repair the dishwasher and I have to go to the insurance to repair my floor) or GE and said I wanted my money back. He then stated that he would order the parts and also stated that he did not have the correct tool to remove the motor and has not had one since they have changed the manufacturing process. At this time I am still waiting for the parts and I have contacted GE numerous times to find that the parts were either on back order or had been shipped out. This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. The GE site: https://appliances.monogram.com/us/specs/ZEB1227SLSS indicates in two places that the built-in trim kit is included (and one place where it is listed as additional), yet GE has confirmed that in fact, the trim kit is an optional add-on with a $325 additional cost. Calls to GEs consumer line have been disappointing. Me: Your website says its included, and is in a section with other features that are in fact included but not additional fees; GE: We have confirmed that the trim kit costs extra. We have, in fact, purchased the oven and are awaiting its installation, and I have other experience with GE Monogram appliances so I expect this to operate well. But I cannot understand their reluctance to acknowledge this error on their site. Potential buyers, please beware of this issue.

Specifically the GE unit had the control panel break off due to misalignment, requiring repair, the drain bulkhead fitting was poorly designed and caused a leak, requiring repair, the water solenoid valve failed in the 2nd year, and finally the door does not lock closed without significant care and attention to alignment and requires many attempts to lock closed for the start of cycle. This is the worst and I cant wait to pull it out and replace it.

I guess all things grow old but we should have enough history on these items to post a life span. However, the GE Monogram Microwave ($499 at Best Buy) broke down 17 months later, a few days before Thanksgiving 2015. GE claimed it was out-of-warranty, and I would have to pay $99 to have a technician look at it, and would charge for repairs. We are stuck with the GE Monogram Microwave as it is a built-in unit and our cabinet is built around it. So we went and got a new one from Best Buy. When the new one came and when we removed it from the box, it had a large dent in it - a very large one. It clearly indicates a shoddy QC job, as the unit should not have left the factory with such an obvious dent. We asked BEST BUY to replace it, but a new one is not going to come till after Christmas. So it was 2 strikes against GE Microwave ovens for me.We spoke to GE and they were not very sympathetic, and amazingly did not even apologize for the inconvenience caused!! They just stuck to their out-of-warranty mantra, which I understand. But then the occurrence of a second event with another GE Microwave, and the inconvenience of sending back a big dented one was also not acknowledged or perhaps even understood by their CS representative. So it is strike 3 against GE Appliances for me.I would never recommend GE microwaves and was totally disappointed with the Customer service of the GE Appliance division. I also have GE Cooktop and two GE wall ovens and shudder to think what will happen if they should break down. Just sharing a sad experience that holds some lessons for me and my family and friends. In early 2017, we bought all of our GE Profile appliances including the dishwasher through our builder as part of building a new home. Love the slate exterior. Ive followed the instructions on loading to ensure my dishes arent blocking the water that is supposed to spray up and help distribute soap. Even though I select the dry function, my dishes are sopping wet when the cycle is finished. We have to catch the end of cycle and crack the dishwasher open to let the steam escape in order to cut down on the wet. Even then, we still have to dry dishes to put them up. My GE Profile Dishwasher is a plain Jane without the bells and whistles, yet is a trusted, working appliance. In January 2013, my husband and I purchased new appliances from Home Depot, including the above referenced dishwasher. The first dishwasher was delivered broken. The display panel was detached from the body of the dishwasher. At that point, I was concerned about the quality of the product. From the way it was detached, it appeared to be very cheaply made. (It was also installed incorrectly, causing a leak under our sink and ruining the bottom of our cabinetry. We settled this with Home Depot, but I include this detail to help emphasize my frustration over this whole situation.)When I contacted Home Depot about the faulty product, they agreed to provide a replacement, so I decided to give it another try. I wish now that I had simply returned the product and purchased another brand. Upon receiving the new dishwasher, I noticed immediately that the edge of the inner rack was scratched so badly that the plastic coating was gone, and rust had already begun to appear. I had to call customer service and get replacement racks. (More on this to follow.) Allow me to detail our service call records:Call #1. Heat dry didnt work at all. The technician told me that I needed to run the water in the sink and make sure it was very hot before running the dishwasher, and he changed the settings. This created a slight improvement, but not much.Call #2. Soon after, detergent tabs started to get stuck in the dispenser cups. I was using the exact brand recommended in the manual. The technician told me that detergent tabs were just the worst, and that I should try gel detergent, even though this is contrary to what the manual states. The detergent ruined my silverware, and I have had to purchase a new set, which I now hand wash.Call #3. Using gel detergent did not work. Technician came back, and told me the wrong replacement racks were sent. That must be what was blocking the water from getting to the soap. He ordered another replacement rack. He brought a plastic door, watched the water, and told me the upper arm wasnt spinning fast enough. He made an adjustment and claimed to fix that.Call #4. Detergent still not emptying from the cup. A different technician came back and used the plastic door. He found a different problem, but did not have the parts to fix it, so, another service call had to be scheduled.Call #5. Technician comes back, and finally fixes the detergent cup problem. For now.Call #6. Heat dry now does not work at all. There is so much water on the dishes that I have to hand dry them, and afterward, I have to mop my floor. There is just a massive amount of water in the dishwasher. In addition, it will not start except on a one-hour delay. Pushing the delay button does nothing to change the settings, and does not allow me to scroll through like it should. This appointment is scheduled for today, but I am not hopeful that anything will change. At this point, I have no faith that this dishwasher will ever work. Customer service did extend my warranty for six months, but that is the only concession I have gotten from them. That extension will expire soon, and I fear that at that point I will simply have to spend another $600 on a new dishwasher and leave this one on the curb. Its unacceptable for any consumer to have to purchase a new dishwasher less than two years after purchasing from GE.

I bought a GE microwave in June 2011. Paint started peeling off the inside top soon after purchase. Now, all the paint is gone and GE doesnt care and Walmart wont replace it. So today, I bought a Panasonic. Maybe it will last. Its fifty dollars cheaper, too.

My 2-year old microwave and range handle(s) have paint peeling issues. GE has a program to replace the microwave handle. They DO NOT have one a similar program for the range (same paint peeling issue on the range handles/rings). They offer a discount cost for the range handles. I am sending them pictures and another formal complaint.

GLDT696 series dishwasher - I have put up with my GE appliances and their problems for years, but now I will throw in the towel. Our Contractor appliances were replaced 5 years ago when remodeling the kitchen. Ten years of no problems with cheap stuff replaced with Stainless Steel GE ovens, fridge, microwave and dishwasher. I will only mention the dishwasher in this posting. Bottom line... Wish I went with another manufacturer. The washer has a gasket that loves to fall out of place creating leaks or floods. The pump has failed after the one year warranty. The control board has been replaced twice and today it looks like there will be a third one. That is if I am stupid enough to hold on to this piece of junk. If I buy another manufacturers steel front dishwasher it will not match the other appliances. At this point I dont care. Unlikely to ever buy a GE appliance again.

GE factory services uses rude, discriminatory, evasive, procrastinating and unethical business practices to limit customers from claiming warranty. We have a non functioning dishwasher which is under warranty. This came as part of the appliance package given to us by the builder (Hallmark Homes) when we bought the house in December 2017. When we contacted GE customer service to let them know that the dishwasher wont work, they gave us a date after 2 weeks for sending their service professional. After 2 weeks, their service professional came in and behaved in an extremely rude and racist manner shouting at the top of his voice for the inconvenience caused to him for coming to repair the appliance. After connecting his computer to the appliance, he said it was fixed and left without even checking if the appliance was working correctly. Even after repeated requests to check the functioning of the device before leaving, he threatened to be physically violent if we still pestered him to stay. After he left, we realized that the dishwasher wasnt fixed when we ran a wash cycle. We again contacted the customer service to let them know that the issue isnt fixed and requested them to expedite things to get it fixed. They said that we will get the next date for a service appointment again after two weeks and there is nothing they could do. After living the nightmare of washing dishes for more than a month, the same service professional came in again and repeating his similar rude, racist, unethical and threatening behavior left without fixing the issue. He said that GE appliance is not owned by GE anymore and hence nobody cared about what happens to the customers. He again passed the buck to the customer service and said I needed to take up this issue with them. In this whole back and fort, we are left devastated without having our dishwasher and living the nightmare for more than a month.

We bought a GE Profile micro/convection oven in December 2010 (model # PEB1590SM). It was working great until 11-19-2012, when the panel on the right side started to glow bright orange, then burst into flame. I thought my wife was goofy, so I tried to heat a cup of water. It was the same thing; the panel glowed bright orange and then flamed. We waited a week for a GE tech to visit. He said the wave guide is burnt. Its non-repairable so were waiting for disposition from GE service. There wont be another GE micro in this house. P.S. - Were still waiting for the GE case manager to call back after leaving three messages.

The microwave is small enough for 1 person and yet big enough for a family of 4. I feel it cleans up pretty easily also, inside and out. This is also a stainless steel on the outside, that makes it easy to clean.

Five years ago I purchased a brand-new condo w/ a GE Nautilus dishwasher installed. This machine has NEVER worked right. Issues: 1. The detergent cup that closes, consistently gets stuck shut, hence only half of the detergent gets dispensed and a second cycle is usually needed to get the dishes cleaner. 2. Dishes are never really clean. Theres always at least one dish that has something left over on it, but its usually multiple dishes. 3. Lower rack started rusting out after 3 years of very light use (used approx 3-4 times a month). Loud. Louder than my washing machine. 4. Replacement parts are ridiculously expensive. A new lower rack is approx $100. My condo also came with a GE refrigerator. It too is junk. Never again...

We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. (Note - previous GE Microwave [same type - over the range] lasted for 14 years.) Thanks to Consumer Affairs for allowing us to post unfavorable reviews.

We normally purchase LG appliances but this time we purchased a GE Profile induction range and GE Profile above range microwave oven. The relay went out on the microwave oven about six months after we got them. Their website for scheduling service is absolutely horrible and didn’t work multiple times and when I was finally able to schedule, it was two weeks out. I then called but was told I couldn’t get an earlier appointment. So we waited the two weeks, then they had to order the relay. GE waited until the part was delivered to us to schedule the return visit - over 2 1/2 weeks later! So at this point we are without our new microwave for over a month and a half. Moral of the story is never ever to tempted to buy from GE, LG appliances & cust service are great.

I have had it with GE! Only 18 months after install, my beautiful, stainless, three-rack, GE, top-dollar dishwasher will not turn on. Repair attempts have been futile. Tech said not to expect more than seven years service out of new appliances. Were tossing this junk and buying CHEAP replacements going forward since all we have to choose from is throw away products. OEMs like GE should realize they are shooting themselves in the foot with their planned obsolescence business plan.

I have been trying since April 4th to get my GE Profile dishwasher fixed. It is July 24th as I write this review. I have had two different technicians come out. It still does not work. After the 2nd technician came out I ran my dishwasher and at 2AM realized something was wrong because it was still running. I came into the kitchen to find my entire kitchen floor flooded in boiling hot water, ruining my cabinet baseboards. I have since had two service calls canceled at the end of the time designated and today I have no technician showing up. Customer no-service is saying technician tried to call me; I have recd no call and have no message left. I have taken multiple days off work to sit at home waiting, and waiting. And this is after two already came out. ABSOLUTELY AWFUL SERVICE.

I purchased the model (PEM31SM1SS) GE Profile (Spacesaver oven) in November of 2008. Less than a year later, it overheated and failed. Since it was still under warranty, the repair was managed by the appliance vendor. The scorch mark on the rear wall of the oven was and is still there. During the past year, the paint on the interior roof began to bubble and peel. There is now a broad area of exposed metal and the paint around the interior door frame is also peeling. When I returned to my vendor, I was informed that several other customers had the same issue and was told to call GE. I also checked online and found many other complaints for the same thing. When contacted, GE offered me a $75 rebate voucher, applicable only if I buy another GE microwave. The current price for this model - the only one anywhere that fits the space - is $279. Even with the voucher, this is still a lot to pay for a product that has proved to be defective. GE does not appear to stand behind its products. It used to be a reliable company but given the issues Ive had with both this microwave and my expensive dishwasher, I will be looking elsewhere in the future.

It is about six years old, great dishwasher. The bad part is the new detergent! GE profile, pre-rinse, preheat water, everything, including enough water. Hold everything, unfortunately, now aluminum must be hand washed. Good looking, curved front. Its great, I shudder to think what the new low water usage ones will be like. I HATE my new low water usage washing machine. I HATE the reformulated dishwasher detergent, can be used on anything aluminum, now I use lots more water hand washing all aluminum items!!!

GE Adora Microwave DVM 1950 purchased at Home Depot - Update to a previous review. After speaking with Home Depot employees, GE service scheduler and finally Consumer Relations, that person agreed to schedule a repairman to come to our home and repair the microwave no charge. I certainly hope it can be repaired because until a couple weeks ago, I loved this over the range microwave. The warranty was for a year. We purchased it April 2012 but it wasnt used for six months so really only used 10 months, by two people!!

We usually turn on the dishwasher in the night. Last month ours started smelling smoke in the morning 6:00 am. When checked, it was the dishwasher that melted couple of plastic cans and its own sprayer and other plastic parts (pictures speaks for itself). When checked with GE, this model was not under recall (there are other models with similar issues). They sent their technician, who confirmed that newer models has auto turnoff circuit. When I asked GE rep, both (level 1 and her manager) assured me that even though it shows its burnt from inside, it would have contained the fire inside, which I disagree. Even after seeing pics, their tech review and the whole incident, their engineers determined this is not a safety hazard to me or my family.

I purchased a GE Spacemaker microwave in Jan. 2001. Shortly thereafter, the frame around the door cracked, becoming worse until in Oct 2006 I complained to GE. They sent a $75 credit towards another GE. I purchased another GE in Oct 2006. After a while, the handle became loose. Today, the handle broke off at the base where it attaches to the door, rendering the oven unusable. I dont have kids. This appliance was not abused. I see in looking through the comments that other consumers have had similar problems which would suggest a product defect. My next microwave will not be a GE.

We lost our old refrigerator to a lightning strike and had to get a new one ASAP, and it had to be counter depth, a great ice maker, side by side, and not be a SS finish. My wife and I hated our old SS one but liked everything else on the old unit so we went looking for a new one that met these requirements. What a chore, this was not an easy unit to find as most everything now has a bottom type freezer. This was defiantly out of the question.

I purchased a GE microwave, model LVM1750DPWW, in 2012. It was delivered approximately 12/6/2012 and was installed in July 2013 after our kitchen remodel was complete. In March 2014, my daughter was warming something on the rack when the back upper rear hook started sparking and caught fire. I am thankful the only damage was to the microwave and to the smell in the house for a few days. When I called Lowes and GE, they act like theyve never heard of this issue. Yet, I see many other complaints of the hooks catching fire. Just to be sure, I turned on the microwave again. The hook started sparking immediately. GE sent a repairman to the house who told me that GE ought to let people know not to leave the racks in the oven. Since she was cooking on the rack, it would be difficult not to have the rack in the oven. He said the oven was a safety concern, could not be repaired and that GE would bring out a new microwave and install it for me. Great! I was pleased - yet concerned. A couple days later, I received an email from GE customer service saying that we had put the rack in the oven incorrectly. There is NO way to have put it in incorrectly. Besides that, he couldnt have seen if this was true since the hook was burnt and melted. I am pretty angry.

My husband and I bought a GE dishwasher from Nebraska Furniture Mart in April 2011. We installed it in our new home in May 2011. It has never cleaned our dishes properly. Our dishes come out of the dishwasher with a film on them and do not look clean at all. I called GE in July. They sent out a repair person who proceeded to tell me that we were not cleaning our dishes well enough. The person also told me that our water wasnt hot enough, we didnt clean our dishwasher out often enough, etc. After I corrected everything, the repairman suggested our dishwasher still wasnt working properly. So, we called GE back. We have since had two additional repair men out. Neither one has been able to repair the dishwasher. The last repairman replaced a valve he thought might be broken. However, it is still working the same. I am absolutely disgusted with the experience I have had with GE.

My GE over the range Microwave has broken about 4 times in a years time. My warranty company American Home Shield (AHS) has decided that instead of replacing this piece of garbage, its somehow worth it to keep on fixing it, which is apparently their MO for all their customers but I digress. After the latest breakdown (microwave lost power completely), I was referred by AHS to GE Appliance repair. Thus began the nightmare. The tech that showed up was incompetent at best. He showed up, looked at me, made a grouchy face and proceeded to walk in the kitchen with an attitude like he was doing us this massive favor. He opened the microwave door, closed it, opened his computer and ordered 10 (yes 10) different part. Again, he literally just opened and closed the door - did not disassemble to see what part was actually messed up. No diagnosis done of any kind. He scheduled to come out the week after that - didnt show up because I missed his phone call. Btw, I called him back pretty immediately and he didnt pick up. After being on hold for about 35 mins (which is clearly the GE standard hold time), they tell me the guy has left the area and they need to reschedule me for a week later. The day before the 2nd appointment, they called to reconfirm and then the morning of, I called, stayed on the standard 35-40 min hold and reconfirmed he was still coming and was told he was on his way. Well, the appointment time came and went and he failed to show up YET again so I called to ask wtf happened. They said he didnt come because I canceled the appointment thru an automated call. This time the idiot didnt call me like they always do. I asked for proof of this alleged automated call that was placed to me and they said no call record exist and so while it seemed like a system glitch, the tech already left the area and theyd need to reschedule it. I told them, No, thank you. Got a local repair company to come out the very next day. Turns out, out of the 10 parts that idiot tech had ordered, only 4 had arrived while the invoice still showed 10 being shipped. Let me clarify this: All these issues stem from GEs entire company: From manufacturing crappy products to HR hiring incompetent techs to customer service being absolutely nightmarish to supply chain not sending parts that are being ordered. And if you can somehow get their alleged consumer advocate department on the phone after a 40 min hold time, they dont give a crap either. All these employees MUST hate GE to drive customers away as far as possible. I own a business and I will never ever EVER buy GE again.

I bought countertop microwave on 7-2-10 in Panorama City, CA. We were moving to Houston so left it in its original box, but the new apartment had a built-in. I left it in box until May 25, 2011 when we moved into an empty house. I took out my new microwave and used it from 5/25/11 until 12/4/11. I baked a 5- minute sweet potato. Later, I went to reheat coffee and no clock, no nothing. I tried the microwave at different plugs, no response. Then I tried the toaster in the microwaves plug. The toaster was fine so its not the plug. A repairman at his business location said its probably the computer chip. For $95, he would install a new one which would last a lot longer. So now we have disposable GE microwaves.
