After coming home from work on a hot, sunny, Friday afternoon, I noticed the inside of the house was MUCH hotter than what the thermostat was set for. After going outside and checking the heat pump, I noticed that the copper lines were frozen and the fan wasn't spinning. After calling the installation company, they said they wouldn't be able to be out there until Saturday afternoon (of course!). The repair technician came out Saturday around 3:00 pm and said that it was the motor and that "Carrier knows these are bad motors, but they won't do anything about them until they break. They last roughly 2-2.5 years before they need replaced. I have already replaced at least 40 this year and that's just me.... I have three other partners!". Of course, he said that it wouldn't be able to be taken care of until Monday after he contacted Carrier. On Monday, he ordered the part and Tuesday around noon, he actually came and fixed it. If anyone knows what the weather is like in September in South Carolina, then you know that there were FOUR VERY UNCOMFORTABLE NIGHTS OF "SLEEP" (you're not getting much sleep when it is hot and humid... all a fan did was circulate the hot air). I wish that I had known about all these problems with Carrier before we built our house 2.5 years ago! I can assure you that from here on out, that for me, "it will be hard to stop a Trane". I have asked two different technicians now, who they thought makes the best unit, and both unquestionably said Trane. Thanks to Carrier, I am now out $300 because of a known faulty motor (sorry to everyone else who has spent more money because I know that sounds like chump change, but I definitely would like spending that on something else). If any car manufacturer had known issues, they would put out a recall and fix the unit.... Why isn't Carrier doing the same? Unscrupulous is word that comes to mind...

We had a new air handler installed in our condo in the spring of 2014. Since that time, we have had the evaporator coil replaced three times and the blower motor replaced once. Although Rheem offers a ten year warranty for the parts, they will not pony up for labor for the customers out of pocket expenses. It cost me $1450. Despite the fact the coils are obviously defective, Rheem will not take any responsibility for a product that is less than reliable. They are so bad that they currently are saddled with a class action lawsuit. Save yourself a lot of money and buy a product from a credible manufacturer who offers a reliable product.. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR.... DO NOT BUY A RHEEM AIR HANDLER.

Had a carrier model 25HBC318A0030010 - Ser# 2013E14437 barely 7-months ago. Two weeks ago had the company come in for maintenance on the unit. One week later the system non-functional due to the X-13 Blower in the air handler, model FB4CNF018T00ABAA, ser# 2913A72942. As a businessman I understand things break down and that is life. But what I did not agree with is getting charged $120.00 in labor to install a motor that has not even passed its warranty date. The labor billed as recorded relative to the equipment serviced should be guaranteed for a period of one year from the date of the original invoice or install date. Service invoice **, Customer **.

The American Standard 95% 2 stage variable furnace is by far my favorite furnace to install. I know exactly what to expect from this furnace and I have had zero factory issues with this model. Outside of making a few sheet metal transitions this American Standard standard 95% furnace was very easy to install as well. And like the 2 stage variable … no factory issues.

Just bought this heat pump from the Buzz in Brooklyn. My bedroom is smaller than 350 square feet (which is the size it says on the box and my room is probably about 250 the max) and I was sure this 8000 btu unit would be sufficient. So far, It's been running on full blast for about 3 hours, with 2 fans running too, and I still don't feel cool. The fan is on high and standing right next to it doesn't give off a strong current. I'm on Amazon looking for a 10,000 BTU unit, but think I will have to go to a store. I have an LG in the living room that does a massive job.

I have had a Carrier air conditioning system for over 25 years and had to make only one repair on a faulty relay which cost less than $ 150.00, I don`t need to say anything more but this unit has always proved to be reliable year after year after year....

We have been very pleased with these infrared heaters. Two of them are constantly in use and the third is used when needed. On the greenhouse side, the heat is kept at just under ten degrees Celsius and then at the store again at 13-14 degrees Celsius, says store manager

We bought a Trane Heat Pump and new furnace in February 2011. In November 2012 the unit shut down and we found out it had a leak and had lost all 410A. The leak was in the copper joint inside of unit so they brazed it. We had to pay $169 to have 410A replaced even though I thought it was very unfair that we should have to pay anything since it was a factory defect. Well, here we are 7 months later and we have another leak. They are having trouble finding it and had put dye in it to try to locate the leak. Two days later and the dye still doesn't show where the leak is so we have to wait another 5 days to let it circulate more. Of course it is 90 degrees here right now so the unit runs almost all day, so I would think the dye should have circulated. They have had to put in another 2 lbs. 410A and said they will give us a good price on it. Well, I say we shouldn't have to pay for it at all since we spent $7000 for all this 2 years ago. I guess maybe Trane is not real good at standing behind their products, so if they don't replace this unit we will be finding something different and we will be hiring an attorney to recoup our loss. We are retired and bought this new hoping that we would avoid repairs for a few years!! Well, I guess we were wrong. Very disappointed in Trane at this point in time!!!!!!!!

Goodman refused to honor their extended warranty on my furnace on a known defect, stating that the Service Provider must be approved by the Goodman Extended Service Department; and not every "authorized" Goodman Dealer carries this authorization status. Like other reviews regarding Goodman on this website, the Consumer must make informed decisions not just based on the words in the Goodman contracts, but based on other Consumers' experience as well. The devil is in the details when dealing with Goodman. Not a great way to build Consumer trust, but this is Goodman's prerogative to govern their business as they choose and to the sole benefit of Goodman; not the Consumer. BUYER BE VERY AWARE.

Our Carrier heat pump system was so quiet. The only way we knew it was on was the cool air filling the room. Although the Carrier system is more costly than other systems, it makes up the cost with efficiency. Our electric bill came down drastically after replacing our dinosaur.
