Dishwasher Error Codes

CODE: 1-1 or F1E1 
PROBLEM: Stuck relay on the electronic control board 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher for 5 minutes. If the code resumes when you restore power, check the wiring connected to the control board for damage and repair any broken wires. 

CODE: 1-2 or F1E2 
PROBLEM: Damaged or corrupted memory on control board. Incompatible software components inside microprocessor., 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher for 5 minutes. If the code resumes when you restore power, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 2-1 or F2E1 
PROBLEM: Stuck button on the user interface control 
FIX: Check all buttons on the user interface control for a response. If one or more of the buttons don't work, unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and disconnect the user interface control wire harness. Reassemble the door with the user interface wire harness disconnected, but don't close the door. 

CODE: 2-2 or F2E2 
PROBLEM: User interface control can't communicate with electronic control board 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Check the wiring between the user interface control and the electronic control board. If the wires and connections are okay, replace the user interface control board. If the problem persists, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 3-1 or F3E1 
PROBLEM: Thermistor/OWI sensor failure (The thermistor is the water temperature sensor, the OWI sensor is the Optical Water Indicator that detects the amount of debris in the water.) 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and then check the wiring between the electronic control board and the thermistor/OWI sensor. Repair or replace the wire harness if broken. If you find the wiring undamaged, replace the thermistor/OWI sensor. 

CODE: 3-2 or F3E2 
PROBLEM: Shorted thermistor/OWI sensor 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and then check the wiring between the electronic control board and the thermistor/OWI sensor. Repair or replace the wire harness if broken. If you find the wiring undamaged, replace the thermistor/OWI sensor. 

CODE: 3-3 or F3E3 
PROBLEM: OWI failed to calibrate or the drain hose check valve failed, allowing dirty water to backflow into the dishwasher 
FIX: Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose connection from the air gap or the garbage disposal if you have no air gap. Pour water through the drain hose to see if water backs up into the dishwasher tub. If so, replace the portion of the drain hose that connects to the drain pump because the check valve in that hose failed. 

CODE: 4-1 or F4E1 
PROBLEM: Communication error between the electronic control board and the circulation pump motor 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Check the circulation pump wire harness and reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring connections are okay, replace the circulation pump and motor assembly. If the problem continues, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 4-2 or F4E2 
PROBLEM: Communication error between the electronic control board and the circulation pump motor 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Check the circulation pump wire harness and reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring connections are okay, replace the circulation pump and motor assembly. If the problem continues, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 5-1 or F5E1 
PROBLEM: Door switch failure 
FIX: This code appears if you don't close the door within 4 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume button, or if the door latch assembly is broken. When starting a cycle, close the door within 4 seconds after pressing Start/Resume. If you can't start the cycle and the code continues, then the door switch could be defective. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. 

CODE: 5-2 or F5E2 
PROBLEM: Control detects door not opening 
FIX: The electronic control board expects to see the door open between cycles or the dishwasher won't start the next time you try to start a new cycle. If you didn't open the door between cycles, cancel the cycle. Open and shut the door, and then start a new cycle. If the cycle still won't start, then the door switch could be defective.  

CODE: 6-1 or F6E1 
PROBLEM: Won't fill 
FIX: Check for an item stuck under the overfill float and remove it. If the overfill float sticks in the "up" position the dishwasher won't fill. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and shut the water supply valve. Disconnect the water supply line from the water inlet valve and check the water inlet valve screen for clogs.  

CODE: 6-2 or F6E2 
PROBLEM: Water inlet valve failure 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Remove the bottom front access panel and toe panel. Check the wire harness connections on the water inlet valve. Reconnect any loose wires. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wire harness connections are okay, check the resistance of the water inlet valve using a multimeter. 

CODE: 6-3 or F6E3 
PROBLEM: Suds or air are in the water pump 
FIX: Check for sudsy water. If you see excessive suds, try to drain the dishwasher by cancelling the cycle. The drain pump will run for 3 minutes. If the drain pump can't drain the sudsy water, drain the water by hand or use a wet/dry shop vacuum to remove the water. Check the detergent dispenser and replace if it's damaged. Use only dishwasher detergent in the dishwasher. Using regular dish soap in the dishwasher causes excessive suds. 

CODE: 6-4 or F6E4 
PROBLEM: The float switch is open 
FIX: Check the overfill float switch to see if it's stuck or if an item is stuck under it. Check if the inlet water fill valve is properly shutting off the water supply when the dishwasher is off. 

CODE: 6-6 or F6E6 
PROBLEM: Incoming water is too cold 
FIX: Use an accurate thermometer to check the water temperature. If it's lower than 110 degrees F, check your water heater. If the water temperature is normal (110 to 120 degrees F), replace the thermistor/OWI or the electronic control board. Refer to the tech sheet for your dishwasher for a diagnostic test for the thermistor. 

CODE: 6-7 or F6E7 
PROBLEM: Disconnected or damaged flow meter 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Check the wiring to the flow meter. If the wiring is intact, replace the flow meter. 

CODE: 6-8 or F6E8 
PROBLEM: Problem with water softener regeneration valve (Water Softener Models Only) 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Check the wiring to the water softener regeneration valve. If the wiring is intact, replace the water softener regeneration valve. If the problem persists, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 7-1 or F7E1 
PROBLEM: Heating element doesn't work 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Inspect the heating element and replace it if it's visibly damaged. If not, check the wiring to the heating element. If the wiring is intact, replace the heating element. 

CODE: 7-2 or F7E2 
PROBLEM: Heating element won't shut off 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher for 5 minutes. If the code resumes when you restore power, replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 8-1 or F8E1 
PROBLEM: Slow drain 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher and then shut off water. Check the drain path for an obstruction. If the drain path is clear, check the wiring on the drain pump. If the wiring is intact, replace the drain pump. 

CODE: 8-2 or F8E2 
PROBLEM: Drain pump electrical problem 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher and then shut off water. Check the wiring on the drain pump. If the wiring is intact, replace the drain pump. 

CODE: 9-1 or F9E1 
PROBLEM: Electronic control board can't detect the position of the diverter disc 
FIX: The diverter motor positions the disc that directs the water through the lower spray arm or the upper spray arm. The diverter motor also monitors the position of the diverter disc and sends position signals to the electronic control board. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect power and check the wiring going to the diverter motor. 

CODE: 9-2 or F9E2 
PROBLEM: Diverter motor is stuck on 
FIX: The diverter relay on the electronic control board is defective. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and replace the electronic control board. 

CODE: 10-1 or FAE1 
PROBLEM: Detergent dispenser failure 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Remove the outer door panel and check the wiring connections between the electronic control board and the detergent dispenser. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring is intact, replace the detergent dispenser. 

CODE: 10-2 or FAE2 
PROBLEM: Vent wax motor electrical problem 
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Check the wiring in the vent wax motor circuit. If the wiring is intact, replace the vent wax motor. 

CODE: 10-3 or FAE3 
PROBLEM: Drying fan failure 
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Check the wiring between the electronic control board and the drying fan. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring is intact, replace the drying fan.


Dryer Error Codes

CODE: PF 
PROBLEM: Power failure 
FIX: A power failure occurred while the dryer was running. Press Start to continue the cycle or Stop to clear the display. If frequent power failures occur, check the outlet cord for the dryer. 

CODE: F:01 
PROBLEM: Main electronic control board failure 
FIX: Unplug the dryer for 5 minutes and then plug it in. If the code returns, then replace the main electronic control board. 

CODE: F:02 
PROBLEM: Keypad/user interface failure 
FIX: A button is stuck on the keypad on one of the two user interface control assemblies in the console. If you can't free the button, replace the user interface control assembly with the stuck button. 

CODE: F:20 
PROBLEM: Heater relay failure 
FIX: The heater relay on the main electronic control board failed. Unplug the dryer and replace the main electronic control board. 

CODE: F:22 
PROBLEM: Outlet thermistor failure 
FIX: The control detects an electrically open outlet thermistor (temperature sensor). Unplug the dryer and check the resistance of that thermistor, which should be about 10,000 ohms. If the outlet thermistor is defective, replace it. 

CODE: F:23 
PROBLEM: Outlet thermistor failure 
FIX: The control detects an electrically shorted outlet thermistor (temperature sensor). Unplug the dryer and check the resistance of that thermistor, which should be about 10,000 ohms. If the outlet thermistor is defective, replace it. 

CODE: F:24 
PROBLEM: Inlet thermistor failure 
FIX: The control detects an electrically open inlet thermistor (temperature sensor). Unplug the dryer and check the resistance of that thermistor, which should be about 50,000 ohms. If the inlet thermistor is defective, replace it. NOTE: The inlet thermistor is combined with the high-limit thermostat on this dryer. 

CODE: F:25 
PROBLEM: Inlet thermistor failure 
FIX: The control detects an electrically shorted inlet thermistor (temperature sensor). Unplug the dryer and check the resistance of that thermistor, which should be about 50,000 ohms. If the inlet thermistor is defective, replace it. NOTE: The inlet thermistor is combined with the high-limit thermostat on this dryer. 

CODE: F:28 
PROBLEM: Moisture sensor failure 
FIX: Unplug the dryer and check the wiring connections on the moisture sensor. If the wiring connections are sound, replace the the moisture sensor. 

CODE: F:29 
PROBLEM: Moisture sensor failure 
FIX: Unplug the dryer and check the wiring connections on the moisture sensor. If the wiring connections are sound, replace the the moisture sensor. 

CODE: F:30 
PROBLEM: Restricted airflow 
FIX: Clean lint from the lint screen. If you use fabric softener sheets, wash the lint screen with water and a soft-bristled brush to remove fabric softener buildup. Clear any clog or restriction from the exhaust air duct system to the outside of your home. 

CODE: F:31 
PROBLEM: Low L2 voltage 
FIX: The L2 leg of 240 volt power is below 30 volts. Check the house circuit breakers for the dryer and reset the L2 breaker if it's tripped. Unplug the dryer and check the power cord wire connections on the terminal block. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the power cord if it's damaged. Have an electrician check the 240 volt power supply for the dryer. 

CODE: F:70 or F:71 
PROBLEM: No communication between the electronic control board and the user interface control board assemblies 
FIX: Unplug the dryer. Check the wire harness connections between the main electronic control board and the user interface control board assemblies. If the connections are sound, contact a technician to diagnose the cause of the communication failure. The main electronic control board and/or the user interface control assemblies may might need to be replaced. 

CODE: F:72 through F:78 
PROBLEM: User interface control assembly failure 
FIX: Unplug the dryer. Check the wire harness connections between the user interface assemblies. Also check the wire harness connections between the main electronic control board and the user interface assemblies. If the wiring connections are okay, one or both user interface control assemblies probably needs to be replaced.


Gas Grill Error Codes

Here are some common error codes that may appear on your Kenmore gas grill, along with possible explanations and solutions: 

E1: This error code indicates a problem with the gas supply. Check the gas supply line for any kinks or blockages, and make sure that the gas valve is open. If the problem persists, the gas regulator or the gas valve may need to be replaced. 

E2: This error code indicates a problem with the ignition system. Check the ignition electrode and the spark generator for any damage or looseness. If these components appear to be in good condition, the ignition control board may need to be replaced. 

E3: This error code indicates a problem with the burners. Check the burners for any blockages or damage, and make sure that they are properly aligned. If the burners appear to be in good condition, the gas regulator or the control board may need to be replaced. 

E4: This error code indicates a problem with the temperature sensor. Check the temperature sensor for any damage or looseness. If the sensor appears to be in good condition, it may need to be replaced. 

If you are experiencing any of these error codes, it is important to turn off the gas supply and unplug the grill before attempting to troubleshoot or repair it. Range Error Codes

PROBLEM: Touch panel failure 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and wait 30 seconds then restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and replace the touch panel. 

CODE: F003 
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power from the range and replace the user interface board. The user interface control board may have more than one version. Use the latest revision of the user interface control board. 

CODE: F010 
PROBLEM: Runaway temperature (oven temperature is over 600 degrees and increasing) 
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe. 

CODE: F011 
PROBLEM: Stuck key on the keypad 
FIX: The control detects a key has been pressed for 30 seconds or more. Make sure nothing is pushing against the keypad. Press the Stop key to clear the display. If the code won't clear, disconnect electrical power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board. 

CODE: F012 
PROBLEM: Touch panel and user interface control board mismatch 
FIX: This code appears when you replace the touch panel or the user interface control board using the wrong part. Use your range model number to check the part number and install the correct replacement part. 

CODE: F013 
PROBLEM: User interface control board failure 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, replace the user interface control board. 

CODE: F015 
PROBLEM: Touch panel failure 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If error code returns, replace the touch panel. 

CODE: F017 
PROBLEM: User interface board is unable to configure the touch panel 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error code returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the touch panel and the user interface control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part. 

CODE: F018 
PROBLEM: Relay control board failure 
FIX: Disconnect electrical power to the range and replace the relay control board. 

CODE: F019 
PROBLEM: User interface control board is unable to configure the relay control board 
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the relay control board, you may have used the wrong part.  

CODE: F022 
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the relay control board 
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. 

CODE: F023 
PROBLEM: Communication failure between the user interface board and the touch panel 
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, check the wire harness connections between the user interface board and the touch panel. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring harness is okay, replace the touch panel. If the problem continues, replace the user interface control board. 

CODE: F025 or F027 
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the relay board can't be initiated 
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the relay control board, you may have used the wrong part. 

CODE: F028 or F029 
PROBLEM: Communication between the user interface board and the touch panel can't be initiated 
FIX: Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds and restore power. If the error returns, disconnect electrical power and check the wire harness connections between the user interface control board and the touch. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If you just replaced the user interface control board or the touch panel, you may have used the wrong part. 

CODE: F030 or F031 
PROBLEM: Oven temperature sensor probe failure 
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the resistance of the oven temperature sensor probe using a multimeter. You should measure about 1,100 ohms of resistance through the sensor probe at room temperature. If not, replace the sensor probe. 

CODE: F033 
PROBLEM: Meat probe temperature sensor shorted or too hot 
FIX: The control triggers this code if the meat probe detects temperature above 392 degrees F. Make sure you fully insert the meat probe into the meat. The meat probe will detect oven cavity temperature higher than 392 degrees if you don't fully insert the meat probe tip into the meat. Also, make sure that you insert the meat probe jack into the receptacle. A partially inserted meat probe jack can short the contacts in the receptacle, causing this error code. 

CODE: F050 
PROBLEM: Oven relay board can't detect the status of the door lock switches 
FIX: Disconnect power from the range. Check the wire harness connections between the door lock switches and the relay control board. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. Check to see if the door lock switches work properly using a multimeter. Replace the door lock assembly if the switches don't work. Replace the relay control board if the wires and switches are all okay. 

CODE: F090 
PROBLEM: Door lock error 
FIX: The relay control board doesn't detect the door lock motor operating. Disconnect power to the unit, wait 30 seconds, then restore power. Try again to lock the oven door by initiating the Oven Lockout or starting a Clean Cycle. If the door lock motor doesn't run, disconnect power to the range and check the wire harness connections between the door lock assembly and the relay control board. 

CODE: F095 
PROBLEM: Door lock motor doesn't stop running 
FIX: If the door lock motor is constantly running, replace the relay control board because the relay on the circuit board is stuck. If the motor isn't running constantly when this code appears, replace the door lock assembly. 

CODE: F096 
PROBLEM: Oven door has been detected open during a self-clean cycle. 
FIX: Make sure the oven door closes fully and pushes the door switch plunger in. Adjust the oven door hinges or replace the door hinges if damaged. Disconnect electrical power to the range and test the door switch for continuity with the door switch plunger pressed in. Replace the door switch if you don't measure continuity during that test.

Washer Error Codes

PROBLEM: Indicates the control recorded one of the error codes shown below 
FIX: Enter the diagnostic test mode to read the error code as shown in the above video link.

PROBLEM: Excessive suds 
FIX: Use only HE (High Efficiency) detergent. Reduce the quantity of detergent to prevent excessive suds. 

CODE: F0 E4 
PROBLEM: High water temperature in the rinse cycle 
FIX: Make sure that fill hoses are properly connected. Check the resistance of the thermistor (temperature sensor). It should measure around 50K ohms (50,000 ohms) at 77 degrees. If the thermistor is defective, replace it. 

CODE: F0 E5 
PROBLEM: Unbalanced load 
FIX: Re-distribute the load inside the spin basket. If that doesn't help, then check the suspension rods and springs. If a suspension rod and spring is broken or damaged, replace all of the suspension rods and springs (the replacement part is a kit that has all 4 rods/springs). 

CODE: F1 E1 
PROBLEM: Main electronic control board failure 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Check the wiring connections on the main electronic control board in the console. If the wiring connections are okay, then the main electronic control board will usually need to be replaced. 

CODE: F1 E2 
PROBLEM: Motor control error on main electronic control board failure 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Check the wiring connections on the main electronic control board and the drive motor. If the wiring connections are okay, then the drive motor windings will need to be checked for resistance. If the drive motor is bad, replace it. If the drive motor is okay, the main electronic control board will usually need to be replaced. 

CODE: F2 E1 
PROBLEM: Stuck key 
FIX: This code is for models with a digital display. One or more keys on the user interface were actuated for 15 seconds or longer. If a key is stuck and cannot be freed up then the user interface control will need to be replaced. 

CODE: F2 E3 
PROBLEM: Mismatch of main electronic control board and user lnterface control 
FIX: This code is for models with a digital display. It typically occurs when an incompatible control component (Main Electronic Control board or User Interface control) is replaced in the console. Check the replacement part numbers and reorder the correct part. 

CODE: F3 E1 
PROBLEM: Water level pressure sensor fault 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Check the air hose connection between the bottom of the tub and the water level pressure switch on the main electronic control board in the console. If no problems are found, then the main electronic control board (which includes the water level pressure switch) will usually need to be replaced.

PROBLEM: Inlet water temperature fault 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Open the console and check the resistance through the thermistor circuit (black wires). It should measure around 50K ohms (50,000 ohms) at room temperature. If the thermistor is defective, replace it (the thermistor is a component in the inlet valve assembly wiring harness). 

CODE: F5 E1 
PROBLEM: Lid switch fault 
FIX: This code is displayed if Start is pressed with the lid open. If the lid switch on the lid lock/switch assembly isn't detecting the condition of the washer lid properly, then the lid lock/switch assembly will need to be replaced. 

CODE: F5 E2 
PROBLEM: Lid lock fault 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Check the lid lock/switch assembly for debris or an item that is interfering with the lock strike being engaged by the lid lock mechanism. If no interference is apparent, then the lid lock/switch assembly will usually need to be replaced.

PROBLEM: Lid unlock fault 
FIX: Unplug the washer. Lift the top panel of the washer to access the lid lock/switch assembly. Try to manually unlock the washer lid without breaking the lid lock/switch assembly and the lock strike. If the components are damaged, replace them. If the lid lock/switch assembly won't lock and unlock properly, replace it. 

CODE: F5 E4 
PROBLEM: Lid not opened between cycles 
FIX: If the washer is started several times without the lid ever being opened, then this code appears. If the lid is actually being opened between cycles but the control doesn't detect it, then the door lock/switch assembly will typically need to be replaced.

PROBLEM: Basket speed sensor fault 
FIX: See if the spin basket rotates freely. If not, then examine and replace any defective drive components. If the basket spins properly, unplug the washer and check the wiring connections on the shifter assembly. That component has the optical tachometer. If the wiring connections are okay, then that shifter will usually need to be replaced. 

CODE: F7 E5 
PROBLEM: Shifter assembly fault 
FIX: The main electronic control board cannot determine the position of the drive system shifter. Unplug the washer and check the wiring harness connections on the main electronic control board and the shifter assembly. If the wiring connections are okay, then the shifter assembly will usually need to be replaced.

PROBLEM: Motor fault 
FIX: Unplug the washer and check the wiring connections on the drive motor. If the wiring connections are okay, then the drive motor will typically need to be replaced.

FIX: Rotate the spin basket to see if it spins freely. If not, then a garment could be stuck between the outer tub and the spin basket. A problem with drive components could also cause excess friction. Inspect the drive components and replace parts as needed.

FIX: Water isn't being detected as entering the washer. If the washer isn't filling, check the water supply faucets behind the washer to make sure that they are fully open. If water is entering the machine but not being detected, then the main electronic control board (which includes the water level pressure switch) will usually need to be replaced.

FIX: The washer isn't draining after the drain pump runs for 10 minutes. Check the washer drain and the drain hose for clogs or restrictions. If the drain path is clear, unplug the washer and check the drain pump. If the drain pump is defective, replace it.

FIX: Water isn't being detected as entering the washer. If the washer isn't filling, check the water supply faucets behind the washer to make sure that they are fully open. FIX: Shut off the power and allow time for the burner box to cool. Properly position the flame rod. Clean the flame rod of oxidation (rust or residue) with fine steel wool or replace the flame rod.

PROBLEM: Air pressure switch closed 
FIX: Check that blower operates and does not have any blockages in the venting. Turn off power to the water heater and check that all wiring is correct. Check for twisted, damaged or obstructed air pressure switch tubing. To check the switch, turn off the power to the water heater, disconnect the wires on the air pressure switch and check for electrical continuity. 

CODE: LED flashes 3 times every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Air pressure switch open 
FIX: Make sure there are no blockages in the blower or venting system. Check for proper venting according to the installation instructions. A long vent or blocked vent can prevent the pressure switch from closing when blower is running. NOTE: The blower high-limit switch is wired in series with the air pressure switch. Ensure blower high-limit switch is not open. 

CODE: LED flashes 4 times every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Exceeded temperature limit 
FIX: Gas control failure, replace the gas control valve assembly. 

CODE: LED flashes 5 times every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Flame out 
FIX: Check that the gas supply to the water heater is on. Ensure the water heater is properly grounded and operating at 115-120 volts. Check the flame rod position and make sure it's not oxidized, broken or disconnected. Ensure the igniter and flame rod ceramic insulator is not cracked or broken. If all conditions are good and will not light, replace the control. 

CODE: 6-1: LED flashes 6 times and then 1 time every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Ignition failure 
FIX: The gas control failed to ignite the burner and has gone into locked-out state. Make sure the gas supply is turned on. Make sure the water heater is properly grounded and is operating at 115-120 volts. Shut off the power and then check the igniter for broken or disconnected wires. Make sure the igniter and flame rod ceramic insulator is not cracked or broken.  

CODE: 6-2: LED flashes 6 times and then twice every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Pressure switch/high limit opened 
FIX: The gas control has sensed a repeated failure in the vent protection switches. Check for any blockages in the blower or venting. Check the air pressure switch tubing for kinks or leaks. See corrective actions for the symptom of the LED flashing 2 and 3 times. If all conditions and blower are good and the heater will not run, replace the control. 

CODE: 6-3: LED flashes 6 times and then 3 times every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Flame lost 
FIX: The gas control sensed a repeated failure in the flame sensing circuitry during operation and has shut down the water heater. Control failed to ignite the burner. Make sure gas supply is on. Check igniter for broken or disconnected wires. Make sure heater is properly grounded and operating at 115-120 volts. 

CODE: 6-4: LED flashes 6 times and then 4 times every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Flame out of sequence sensed 
FIX: The gas control sensed a malfunction in the sequence of operation and has shut down the water heater. Shut off the power and check that the wiring is correct and the heater is properly grounded. Restore power and reset the control. To reset the control, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. Wait for 10 seconds and move the switch back to the ON position. 

CODE: 7 LED flashes every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Flammable vapor sensor (FVS) 
FIX: The gas control has sensed a problem with the flammable vapor sensor. Replace the vapor sensor. If replacing the vapor sensor does not correct the fault, replace the control. 

CODE: 8-1: LED flashes 8 times and then once every 3 seconds 
PROBLEM: Flammable Vapor Sensor (FVS) 
FIX: The gas control has sensed a problem with the flammable vapor sensor. Replace the vapor sensor. If replacing the vapor sensor does not correct the fault, replace the control.

FIX: Control has sensed an error in the temperature sensing circuit and has shut down the water heater. I called to Sears home service and it took 3 WEEKS to get a tech out and I had to pay for a service call. He diagnosed the issue that it was a compressor and said it would cost $435 in labor since the compressor had a 5 year warranty. It took ANOTHER 3 WEEKS to get the tech to come out to replace the compressor which he did. He found out that the 1st tech misdiagnosed and the 2nd tech said it was the main circuit board. He needed to order and it would be an additional $269. Guess what... ANOTHER 3 WEEKS to get yet 3rd tech to come out to install the new circuit board. I will keep you all posted in 3 weeks.

Ive yet to find any reason to replace it. I will look at Kenmore when I do have to though. The racks are well made so placement of my dishes is easy. Basket for silverware is a breeze to use. The top rack has plenty of room above it for tall glasses and other items that require the top rack. Spacing on the racks is good, items rarely fall through to the bottom rack. But, the placement of the handle where you open the door is not what I would have done. I break a nail almost every time I open it. Other than that there isnt much I would alter about this dishwasher.

The range was almost brand new and I had to have the panel with controls replaced because it cracked, then a year later we had to have the whole cook top & burners replaced. Every time I use the self-cleaning feature, the top of the oven door gets a burn mark on it so now it is all brown making it look terrible in our new kitchen. It even melted the whole side of our microwave on the counter nearby in the self-cleaning mode. I had a tech out and he said it was safe and just to keep using it. I dont feel safe and it looks like trash. I called the resolution hotline and got a person who was from another country and I couldnt understand him so I asked for the corporate office. I was put on hold then disconnected immediately.I called right back and again, got a person I could not understand... She refused to give me the corporate number but transferred me. Now they tell me it should be safe and the burned top of the oven door is just cosmetic and they will not replace the door or the range. This is unacceptable and no consumer should have to accept having a range in their new kitchen that is brown and burned. The fact that it also melted the microwave nearby on the counter, does NOT make me feel safe in any way. The representative said I had to have 4 documented service calls for this problem and that the tech that was out to check it, stated it was safe. It is the most frustrating thing & I will not purchase any Sears products in the future, nor should you!

I purchased this range about six months ago, because I had an earlier model and loved it. Not so much this time. The oven bakes/roasts very unevenly, unless I use the convection feature. Recently, we found out the stovetop burner knobs are rendered useless VERY easily and VERY expensive to replace. There is a thin sheath inside the knob that fits over the shaft that controls the burner heat. This sheath often stays on the shaft when the knob is removed for cleaning. The first time it happened was by our cleaning lady, and she didnt notice that the knob was loose when she replaced it. We later figured out that the sheath had come out of the knob and just got lost. Now I am finding the sheath often stays on the shaft when I remove the knob and has to be replaced in the knob. It is very, very thin. We had to order a replacement knob and it cost $40!! $30 for the knob and $10 to ship. Not happy at all and will not recommend this product. Sad, because I have always had Kenmore appliances. No more.

However, Sears noted the replacement compressor will need a new computer in order to function. We paid the diagnostic fee and asked him to email us a full quote, which he never did. We called Kenmore (transferred to Sears) as the price seemed high ($924) for a problem that is under warranty.We rescheduled an appointment and the technician did not show. We called Sears who rescheduled us for the following week and assured us that the next technician would be fixing the compressor and computer for no additional charges at all. We then spoke to an additional 5 people at Sears who all gave us different stories; it seems that the next appointment would simply be another diagnostic visit/second opinion which is NOT what we need. It has been very difficult to work with Sears, and we have spent several hours on the phone getting several different stories. Though the warranty states the compressor is covered for repair free of charge for 10 years (no mention of parts or labor, just repair), they (Kenmore and Sears) refuse to fix the problem or send us the parts so we can fix it ourself or hire another person.The Kenmore representative (Drew) was downright rude to me for no clear reason. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he told me someone would call me. A person did call me, but did not leave a phone number to reach her--she gave me the generic Kenmore line again, which was not helpful. I wrote several emails to Kenmore via various avenues and received no response whatsoever.All in all, extremely disappointing and upsetting service from Kenmore and Sears. To say something (an expensive fridge) is under warranty for repair but then charge $1000 to fix is not acceptable. Whats more: the compressor in question underwent a class action lawsuit previously as it kept breaking and Kenmore kept having it replaced with other deficient compressors that they knew would break: obviously unacceptable. Its also unacceptable that no one will take responsibility or help; Sears traded us from department to department endlessly and Kenmore was downright rude. We will never buy from Kenmore or Sears again. Users recommendation: Do NOT Kenmore products. Do NOT buy from Sears.

It is a perfect size and has removable areas for thorough cleaning accumulated food particles that might accumulate from time to time. All parts are working fine and ultra quiet when operating. Perceived value of my Kenmore Elite is more than I paid for it when you realize that you will receive many years of fine working from this appliance for the small price you originally paid for it. You get your moneys worth from this appliance in the long run so it is worth a little extra for more features too.

My dryer is about 8 years old, and my washer is 17 years old and still going strong with almost NO repairs! I want to have a large enough size washer and dryer that I can do huge loads, appliances that are energy efficient, good price, good warranty, repair service to my home, long lasting, brand reputation. I would have to say that poor quality and excessive repairs would be the biggest deal breaker for me. I have never had this sort of problem with any Kenmore appliances that I have purchased! My washer and dryer are both the top lid models with a center post. I bought the washer long before the front loading models were available, and although I could have purchased a newer type of dryer, I am quite happy with the old drum model.

Now my baby is about to graduate from college so that washer is long gone but I have fond memories. It was reliable. Put the clothes in and the detergent and about an hour later, clean clothes came out and I liked the fact that the water would start filling the tub with the lid open so pre-treating was easier. Rather simple and to the point. No flash or extra cycles that never get used, just the basic wash options like what people use on a daily basis. Since its rather basic, the price reflected that and it was very affordable. And since it was a Kenmore, it was a good purchase.

Over the years I have bought two. The first house I bought the previous owners left theirs for me. Never got many years out of one and that in itself is very, very disappointing. Prices on the refrigerators were way too high. But what is even worse is the interest rate using the store’s credit card charges. I was in a bind as my older refrigerator broke unexpectedly after ten years. I am a senior citizen living on social security so this became a more difficult situation then for most! I did not like that there was no senior citizen discount offered and when all was said and done, it cost much more than I think the true value should have been! But I liked that opening the refrigerator was easy as believe it or not, some I find really need a good tug on the door and usually when an appliance is like that, it takes me a few good tries to pull a door open on it. I am not the weakest person but does someone need to be the strongest one in town to do that simple action with ease? And being a senior citizen, I cannot tell you how much that factor was and is so very much appreciated by me! It was quiet and performed well, has nice space inside for food storage and had the color I wanted to match other appliances in my kitchen. I am hoping my refrigerator serves me well!

They could fix it if we had a black refrigerator, but they no longer make that part in white to go on a white refrigerator (They did offer to put the black part onto our white refrigerator which takes up a substantial part of the front and would look ridiculous to have a white + black refrigerator in our all white kitchen). Top of the line refrigerators are supposed to last more than seven years. And their warranty is crap. They used to be rated high for customer service which is why we bought a Kenmore and paid extra for the warranty, but now it seems theyre all too happy to collect money, but when it comes to replacing parts with the correct replacement parts, they cant deliver.

I wanted a cover for the grill and didn't find one listed so I called NEXGRILL customer service and they gave me a number made by NEXGRILL but was unbranded so I ordered it from Home Depot. Customer service at NEXGRILL also took care of registering the warranty for me when I was on the phone. I owned a 4 burner NEXGRILL that I purchased several years ago and I gave it to my Son. I don't know how they could improve much from my older grill. the new grill sure has even heat and the searing burner works great, and all burners light the first time.. One last important item is the Rotisserie, it is very easy to use and as you can see in photo # 6 our dinner is on.

I would load a large amount of clothes with no wobble or noise during the cycle. The appearance was a pleasant bright white. The outside was smooth and chip resistant. The dials were labeled for easy identification of the cycles, temperature, and capacity. The print remained on the surface with no fading or peeling. The price was appropriate for the performance of the appliance. The load capacity and features were equal to the price paid. Although mine was a gift, I knew the price was good for the quality of the Kenmore name.

Just when we think its working right it acts up. Also the ice machine if its not set on small the cubes wont come out. Every time the power blinks and we forget we have to wait forever for the ice to make. We have purchased all our appliances from Sears and have never had any trouble with all the other items but we will not purchase another Kenmore Refrigerator made by LG. We have called Sears numerous times and they would not stand behind their product or that it worked fine until they fixed it so not sure we will use Sears when time to replace items.

So, I call Sears today to schedule a tech to come out and see whats wrong with it. They tell me the soonest emergency service they can schedule is October 19th... 11 days from now!! Thats insane! No wonder this company is getting ready to close. I will never purchase Kenmore appliances again!Updated on 10/15/2018: After doing some research today, it looks like theres a potential class-action lawsuit against Kenmore and LG for these faulty, short-lived compressors. Apparently, this lawsuit also covers the LG compressors hidden behind the Kenmore façade. Heres a link with information about the potential lawsuit: **. Hope everyone with this problem follows through with this, especially after Sears filed chapter 11 bankruptcy today. This means the extended warranties purchased by consumers will be decided in court as far as whether or not Sears will have to honor them.Also, heres some good info if you run into a problem and need to contact Sears... Inside my refrigerator owners manual, it mentions that warranty repairs are eligible for rental reimbursement. When I asked Sears about that... they then decided to tell me that they would send me a check for $115 which would cover part of the cost to buy a small refrigerator to use til mine is repaired. I purchased a small, 3.3 CF fridge (not a Kenmore though!) for just over this price. Also, as mentioned in the owners manual, you can fill out a form to get $250 back from Sears for spoiled food caused by the refrigerator not working. It states that you can claim this $250 one time per year. Again, until I brought this up to Sears, they werent going to mention it. Hope this info helps other frustrated customers! In the meantime, Im still waiting for the tech to come out to diagnose what happened to mine. Seems like it was another compressor failure. I should know more on Friday... after 11 days without my refrigerator.

The dishwasher is large enough to fit everything, including cookie sheets, and large frying pans. It has extra room for tall glasses. You can fit quite a lot and still have room for more. This dishwasher is clean lined and modern looking, inside and out. Nice digital read out. Easy to clean door. Looks just as nice on the inside. I would highly recommend it. This Kenmore dishwasher looks very high end. People will think that a lot more was paid for it than there actually was. It was a very good value for what you get.

That being said, I bought this washing machine about 18 months ago for around $1,000 at Sears. I called the Sears helpline and they recommended I sign up for $40 a month protection plan that still required me to pay $60 for them to show up and part costs!? This made no sense and just made me more upset. I will never buy anything from Sears again.

I purchased a Kenmore Elite top load washer in 12/2011. In roughly 12-13 months, the area around the bleach dispenser started to show signs of rust/corrosion. I contacted the Sears customer solutions group and they arranged a service call, which I paid for, to assess and confirm that there truly is rust/corrosion around the dispenser! I was quoted almost $300 for the repair, however the technician stated that there was a Service Flash for this very issue which apparently warrants a notification and how to handle it. This service flash SF26-813 clearly states as a repair as having a redesigned cover and dispenser along with having the cover completely painted. This obviously was a manufacturing defect that, when I started addressing with Sears, turned into a hot potato hand-off, from one department to another, without any sign of helping resolve the issue. They even sent me to LG, the manufacturer, to try to have them do something for me, instead of them bringing the issue to LG as their vendor and expecting resolution and seeking reparations. I finally was given a case number that was essentially useless since there is no direct contact person to work with, which in effect results in multiple solutions group people passing on emails trains without any point of contact. I even asked for direct contact and provided my phone number through every email...but still no call. This is the ultimate shell game with consumers...create a customer solutions group to help you...but dont actually have this group do anything to foster customer solutions. I was however offered $65 for part of the original service call. I even asked if they even interact with their vendors... in this case LG, to force them to own up to poor engineering and design, to help rebuild credibility and demonstrate responsibility for their products. I am Sears customer not LGs, and as such Sears should have an obligation to me. They in turn need to hold LG accountable for their inferior manufacturing design. Whatever happened to taking care of the customer? Sadly...this is a bygone saying.

I am still within the five year warranty period and will petition for a replacement. Each time a refrigerator fails hundreds of dollars of groceries are lost. My opinion is that retail stores are complicit with LG for selling a product made to fail. This should be considered fraud. Retail store owners have to be aware and should also be held accountable for the damage to consumers. We should not be importing these products from Samsung. Almost twice as fast as our old dryer. It is quite large and fits all of my clothing in it at one time. I love my dryer. I would say if I was ever in the market for another appliance I would look to this brand first. Its a front load dryer with a see through door and it has a steel drum. You can watch your clothing dry right in front of your eyes. It makes washing and drying your clothes easy. It wasnt the cheapest model that I could find, but that doesnt bother me because sometimes you have to pay a little extra to get a very good value. I dont regret this purchase. At first they help you over the phone, too much deter, not HE, not the right kind of deter, too much fabric softener, cant use fabric softener, clean it with bleach, clean with vinegar, clean with A-Fresh, your water is too hard, its because you have a water softener, etc, etc! So far they have been here 6 times and their computer says, It is functioning fine and therefore there is nothing wrong with the machine. I ask, So I cant EXPECT to have clean clothes from a new wash machine? The store salesperson says, The tech makes the decision. The tech says, The machine is working fine, and refuses to take it apart to show me there is no stagnant, grimy water sitting in the bottom. This machine makes clothes 10x dirtier than before they went into it. Dont bother talking to corporate escalation dept (877-878-3687). They are well trained in giving you the runaround. One tech named Kyle is actually trying to solve this mystery of the lint-like, slimy, powdery, residue that gets onto (and is very difficult to get off) my clothes. I honestly dont recommend this washer or any other appliance that you may have to deal with Sears. Why cant people/businesses stand behind their products anymore? I bought this machine because in 2008 I purchased a Maytag Bravo that I thought was just like this one. I am told that the old motor was well built and that the government puts such high regulations on the HE washer that its not enough water to actually clean the clothes. If companies know this then why on earth are you selling this machine under the expectation that you will get clean clothes!? Id give the machine a negative 10 and the service department 1 out of 5. Id love for a manager or store owner to call me. Ive left messages on answering machines that say, We will call you back by the end of the day, and they NEVER call you back. At first, we thought we had just purchased some out of date food. We placed boxes of baking soda inside for the odor. We installed a refrigerator thermometer inside both compartments and began monitoring the temperatures. The temp range in the fridge was 43-54 degrees and the freezer was 6-20 degrees even though the settings were at the recommended 0 and 37.Please be aware if you purchase this unit that the display only shows the setting temps, not the actual temps. Two months after being put into service, this unit has stopped cooling the refrigerator/freezer compartments adequately. In the end, all of our food had to be discarded. Initially, Sears service suggested they would replace the defective unit because it was so new, then said we had to schedule a service call 22 days from now. We purchased this item based primarily on the Kenmore name. That was obviously a mistake.Updated on 08/19/2015: This is an update to our previous review of the fridge we purchased from Sears. The service tech finally arrived on Aug 4 after our original appt was re-scheduled for a week later. He ordered the parts which were delivered the next day. The appt for install was Aug 19. Sears called yet again to reschedule for Sept 1. In the meantime, we discovered the part they sent was the wrong part. We called today to hopefully get the right part before the rescheduled Sept 1 appointment.

It should hold up for at least 5 years before needed minor repairs as long as you treat it right and not abuse it. You should have no problems out of it for a long time. You can do less loads per day which in the long run saves water and power. It also runs in less time, but gets them just as clean as a normal washer would. It basically pays for itself! I dont know what else to say about it besides that it is a good washer and you would be happy to have it in your home.

The dryer worked very well and there was a discernible difference in the way the dryer worked according to the settings it was on. It also ran very quietly. Set it and forget it was my motto for this dryer. I didnt have to worry about whether or not the clothes would be dry as the dryer would retain the appropriate level of heat throughout the entire cycle. Simple, sleek and stylish. No unnecessary buttons or settings; the knobs were labeled appropriately and the overall style of the dryer would fit in with any decor. I am unsure of the original price of the dryer, but it worked fantastically and that alone is worth quite a bit in my opinion. The dryer didnt have all the bells and whistles a top line model would have, but it had what it needed.

Keeps everything cold and it also keeps the freezer stuff just as it should. It is not noisy and it last. I have had mine for a few years now. The size is great to hold everything and also everything fits great. There is a lot of space. It is a great brand and it fits my needs. I will buy this brand again if I should ever need another one. It looks great and I like the style. The price is great. It fits well with the brand and the style. I like that there is a top and a bottom. I also seen the side by side. No matter what style you get it will be great.

I ended up buying a Maytag in FL, and have had problems with it constantly. Ive been through 3 replacements, its so bad. My next fridge will be a Kenmore.

Wonderful. I love this dishwasher to be amazing. The kids are in charge of washing the dishes. They do not pre-wash etc. They just shove the dishes in the washer and turn it on and poof the dishes comes out spotless. The size is just right. Again the kids are in charge of the dishes and they shove everything into the dishwasher - pots, pans, spoon, forks, cheese cutter, cutting board. And there is room for everything. It is just the right size. I choose Chrome and black cause I am not sure of what kind of refrigerator I am going to get so black and Chrome works. Worth every dime I spent of the dishwasher and times are hard so it was money well spent. I like the fact that it does not use a lot of water and it is not so loud that it keeps the baby up or disturb the dogs.

Purchased a french door, bottom freezer Kenmore Elite refrigerator. It is one year old and just out of warranty. I have replaced 2 control boards and another is out. It has been out of service for 8 weeks. Three repair visits and it is still not working. Sears does not stand behind their product. I have spent over $500 in parts and service call and it is still not running. Repairman leaves and I cannot get another appointment for 2 weeks! Most expensive refrigerator I have ever purchased and lasted the least amount of time. I have confirmed with other repairmen I know that say Kenmore is not what it used to be and cant be trusted. Run from Kenmore!
