Kenmore Appliance Troubleshooting
Their trusted performance continues to be awarded by those who know them best, the consumers who have welcomed Kenmore into their homes for over 100 years.
Dishwasher Troubleshooting
DISHWASHER DOES NOT RUN
It is normal for the dishwasher to repeatedly pause several times during a cycle.
If the Start!Resume or Smart Display status bar light is blinking, push START/RESUME and close the door within 3 seconds.
Be sure the door is closed and latched.
Be sure you have selected a cycle.
Be sure there is power to the dishwasher. A circuit breaker or fuse may have tripped.
If lights other than Start/Resume blink and the unit will not run, you will need to call for service.
CYCLE RUNS TOO LONG
To use less water and reduce energy consumption you will encounter cycles that typically run for up to 3 hours.
A water heater setting of 120°F (49°C) is best, the dishwasher will delay longer while heating cooler water.
Some options will add time to the cycle.
Try the 1 Hour Wash cycle.
Run the hot water at a faucet close to the dishwasher before starting the cycle.
DISHWASHER NOT DRYING
Plastic and items with nonstick surfaces are difficult to dry because they have a DRYING porous surface which tends to collect water droplets.
Towel drying may be necessary.
Use of rinse aid along with the Heated Dry option is needed for proper drying.
Proper loading of items can affect drying.
Glasses and cups with concave bottoms hold water. This water may spill onto other items when unloading.
Unload the bottom rack first.
Load these items on the more slanted side of the rack for improved results.
WILL NOT FILL
Be sure the water is turned on to the dishwasher.
Check that the float is free from obstructions.
Check for suds in the dishwasher.
If foam or suds are detected, the dishwasher may not operate properly or may not fill with water.
ODORS
If the dishwasher is not used daily, you can run a Quick Rinse cycle with the partial load daily until a full load is ready to run, or use the Top Rack Only option (on some models) for partial loads.
Run a vinegar rinse through the dishwasher by putting 2 cups (500 mL) of white vinegar in an upright glass measuring cup in the lower rack. Run a normal cycle with the Heated Dry option turned off. Do not use detergent.
LEAKING WATER
Be sure the dishwasher has been installed properly and is level.
Suds can cause the dishwasher to overflow. Measure the detergent accurately and use only detergents designed for use in a dishwasher.
Less detergent is needed in soft water. Try another brand of detergent if sudsing continues.
To avoid rinse aid leaking from the dispenser, be sure the lid is securely attached and avoid overfilling.
Dryer Troubleshooting
Clothes are not drying satisfactorily, drying times are too long
Lint screen clogged with lint. Lint screen should be cleaned before each load.
The Air Only cycle has been selected. Select the right cycle for the types of garments being dried.
Load too large and heavy to dry quickly. Separate the load to tumble freely
Fabric softener sheets blocking the grill. Use only one fabric softener sheet, and use it only once.
Exhaust vent not the correct length. Check that the exhaust vent is not too long or has too many turns. Long venting will increase drying times. Make sure vent is not crushed or kinked.
Dryer will not run
Door not closed completely. Make sure the dryer door is closed completely.
PUSH to START button not pressed firmly or held long enough. Press and hold the PUSH to START button until you hear the dryer drum moving.
Incorrect power supply. Electric dryers require 240-volt power supply. Check with a qualified electrician.
Wrong type of fuse. Use a time-delay fuse.
Unusual sounds
Dryer had a period of non-use. If the dryer hasn’t been used for awhile, there may be a thumping sound during the first few minutes of operation.
A coin, button, or paper clip is caught between the drum and front or rear of the dryer. Check the front and rear edges of the drum for small objects. Clean out pockets before laundering.
It is a gas dryer. The gas valve clicking is a normal operating sound.
The four legs are not installed, and the dryer is not level front to back and side to side. The dryer may vibrate if not properly installed.
Cycle time too short
Automatic cycle ending early.
The load may not be contacting the sensor strips. Level the dryer.
Use Timed Dry for very small loads. Change the dry level setting on Auto Dry cycles.
Increasing or decreasing the dry level setting will change the amount of drying time in a cycle.
Lint on load
Lint screen clogged. Lint screen should be cleaned before each load.
Stains on load or drum
Dryer fabric softener not properly used.
Add dryer fabric softener sheets at the beginning of the cycle.
Fabric softener sheets added to a partially dried load can stain your garments.
Drum stains are caused by dyes in clothing (usually blue jeans).
These will not transfer to other clothing.
Odors
You have recently been painting, staining, or varnishing in the area where your dryer is located.
If so, ventilate the area. When the odors or fumes are gone from the area, rewash and dry the clothing.
The electric dryer is being used for the first time.
The new electric heating element may have an odor. The odor will be gone after the first cycle.
Gas Grill Troubleshooting
The Tank
Modern propane tanks, mandated by the government, contain an Over Fill Prevention (OPD) Device. This makes it so a propane tank cannot be overfilled. Rarely, the OPD on your propane tank can be damaged causing the tank to work incorrectly.
Fuel Hose and Regulator
The output of a propane tank or your natural gas line is much greater than you need for grilling. The regulator controls the amount of fuel that can flow to your grill. This attaches to the tank (or natural gas line) with a flexible hose with an O-ring to create an airtight seal. Regulators are preset by the manufacturer and should not be adjusted by you. If you look at your regulator you will notice a small vent hole in the center. Common problems are clogged vent holes, which can cause irregular fuel flow and can lead to trouble. Usually, you can clear it by tapping or blowing into the vent. Other problems are fuel leakage caused by a worn or damaged hose or O-ring. To determine if there is leaking mix dish soap and water in equal parts and coat everything from the tank to the control valves with the mixture and see if it produces any bubbles. The tank needs to be connected and on but the control valves off. If you find a leak, replace that part.
Control Valves
The controls valves regulate the flow of fuel to the burner. Each burner on your grill has a control valve. You cannot repair a bad control valve and if need be, you should replace the whole unit. Before you do, however, remove the control valve from your grill and inspect it. Like other parts of your grill, insects love to climb in here to nest. At the center of the control is the orifice. The orifice controls the flow of fuel and can become clogged. If it is, use a thin wire to clean out. Make sure you put it all back together the way you found it. Without the orifice, you cannot regulate the amount of gas flowing to the burner and run the risk of explosion.
Venturi Tubes
The venturi tubes connect the control valve to the burner(s) and mix the fuel with air to provide the flame. To do this, there is an open gap in the fuel line that can easily become obstructed. Insects, especially spiders, commonly nest here. The best solution for this is to wrap the venturi tubes with an aluminum screen that will not block the airflow but will keep the critters out. Many grills come with protected venturi tubes. Another common problem is a misalignment of the venturi tubes with the burner. Typically the venturi tubes are simply placed in the fuel line and can get knocked out of place. The venturi tubes have adjustable shutters and they may need an adjustment to regulate fuel flow.
Burners
Burners come in many shapes, sizes, and materials. Burners range from aluminized steel at the low-end to cast brass and stainless steel on the high end. Low-end burners will typically last about three years under normal circumstances. Because the burner is inside the grill, it tends to get coated in burnt grease and can corrode quickly. Inspect and clean your burner regularly to avoid problems. If the burner is damaged or too heavily corroded, you will need to replace it. Get the same size and shape of the burner but consider purchasing one of a better quality metal if possible.
Barrier or Radiant
In between the burner and the cooking grate is a barrier, also called a radiant. It is supposed to absorb and release heat evenly to the cooking surface. The barrier protects the burners from drippings and creates a place for grease to collect and burn off. It may be constructed of lava rocks, ceramic briquettes, or metal plates. These need to be replaced periodically as they become crusted with burnt grease and food; this can eventually create an unpleasant flavor on foods. Porous lava rocks tend to need replacement more often. Metal plates can typically be cleaned and used for a longer time. Inspect your barrier. If it is broken up, heavily coated, or simply not creating a sufficient barrier, consider replacing it.

Microwave Troubleshooting
Frequent Causes for a Kenmore Microwave to Not Work
Before you investigate why your Kenmore microwave isn't working, you should make sure that the plug is plugged in correctly and that the outlet is working. If the plug and outlet are operating efficiently, then that most likely means that the fuse has blown. If you are using your microwave a ton and there's a bunch of currents passing through the microwave, the line fuse can blow because of all of these currents. If the line fuse is blown, that's why your microwave isn't working. It is recommended that you have a licensed technician check and replace your blown fuse. In a Kenmore microwave, there are thousands of volts of electricity running through it, even when the microwave is off. There's potential for an electric shock if you don't know what you're doing when it comes to replacing electronic components in the microwave. The technician will know where the Kenmore Elite microwave fuse location is when fixing the appliance. That's why it is best just to have a licensed electrician do the job for you.
Main Control Board: Kenmore Microwave No Power
Sometimes the main control board of the Kenmore microwave can be defective, but this is a highly unlikely reason if your microwave isn't working. Most Kenmore microwaves are tested before they leave the factory, so there shouldn't be any defective parts. If everything is working in your microwave, though, it could be the control board. You should have a licensed technician handle the Kenmore microwave repair because you can be shocked if you don't know what you're doing. Licensed technicians will be able to replace the main control board of your Kenmore microwave with no issue whatsoever.
Thermal Fuse
Another reason why your Kenmore microwave might not be working is that the thermal fuse has cut off. This happens when your microwave overheats and then the thermal fuse blows. Thermal fuses can't be reset if they're blown, so you have to replace them. This is something that a licensed technician can fix quickly. If your fuse is always blowing, it's best just to get a new microwave.
Range Troubleshooting
Entire Range Won’t Operate
If none of your range’s functions will operate, ensure that its power cord is firmly plugged into the outlet. There may be an issue with the power supply to the appliance, so examine your home’s fuse box or circuit breaker. Replace any blown fuses or reset the circuit breaker if necessary. If there is adequate power to your range but it still won’t turn on, its service wiring may be incomplete. Contact Kenmore at the number listed in your owner’s manual for assistance. If you are trying to use the oven portion of your range and it won’t operate, make sure that the time is set on the display clock. The oven won’t turn on if the clock hasn’t been set.
Cooktop Element Doesn’t Heat
If the elements on your smooth cooktop won’t heat or aren’t heating evenly, check that you’ve turned the correct control knob for the element you want to use. The elements may seem not to heat or may seem to heat unevenly if improper cookware is used. Avoid lightweight or warped pans that don’t distribute heat evenly. Opt for flat, even, medium- or heavy-weight pots and pans, which heat more evenly, so food isn’t likely to burn.
Abrasions on Cooktop Surface
If you notice marks on the smooth cooktop surface of your range, they may be abrasions or scratches from rough food particles that get trapped between the surface and your cookware. These marks don’t affect cooking results and usually fade over time, but you can avoid them by wiping down the cooktop, and your pots and pans, before cooking. Abrasions may also appear on your cooktop’s surface if you don’t use the proper cleaning products to clean it. Choose a cleanser designed specifically for ceramic-glass cooktops and buff it with a nonabrasive sponge or cloth. If your cooktop has discoloration, it may be caused by food that has boiled over and been cooked onto the ceramic glass during cooking. A razor blade scraper can remove the debris. Mineral deposits from food and water can also discolor your cooktop surface. Use an appropriate cleaning product to remove them.
Range Isn't Level
If your range doesn’t appear level, examine the floor beneath it to ensure that it is level and stable enough to support the appliance. Contact a carpenter or contractor to strengthen the floor if you notice it is sloping or sagging. Your range may not be level if it was poorly installed, too. Set a rack in the center of the oven and place a level on it. Adjust the leveling legs at the bottom of the range until the level indicates the problem has been corrected. Keep in mind that the alignment of your kitchen cabinets can make the range appear like it’s not level. Cabinets should be square and allow clearance for the range.
Refrigerator Troubleshooting
Refrigerator or Freezer Not Cool Enough
When the refrigerator and freezer are not cooling, first check if the machine is plugged in and powered on. Then, check the temperature controls to see if they are set properly. Next, verify the machine has not been set on demo mode, which stores use to keep the lights and display on without wasting electricity on cooling. To turn off demo mode, check the manual for your specific model. Also, ensure the device is not being used somewhere too warm as these refrigerators cannot work properly in temperatures above 110 degrees Fahrenheit.
If these solutions don't work, consider whether the machine has had enough time to cool off. If the refrigerator was recently plugged in, if the doors were left open for an excessive period of time, if the temperature controls were recently changed, if the defrost cycle just ran or if a large quantity of food was recently added, the device might just need time to cool off again. It can take up to 24 hours for a refrigerator to cool completely from room temperature and up to half an hour to cool completely after a defrost cycle.
When the refrigerator is warm and the freezer is cold, check that the vents running from the freezer to the refrigerator are not blocked. You may also want to check that the refrigerator is not too full as this blocks the air from circulating properly.
If you find that none of these solutions correct your temperature problem, you may need to contact a professional as there may be an internal problem with the refrigerator.
Moisture Inside or Under the Refrigerator
A small amount of moisture is normal in a refrigerator. If your refrigerator, particularly the defrost drain pan, is excessively wet, it could be that the doors have been left open, that the room it has been stored in is too humid or that the defrost cycle recently completed. In these cases, wipe up the moisture with a towel and ensure the doors are fully closed.
If the defrost pan overflows, possibly resulting in water collecting under the crisper drawer or under the exterior of the refrigerator, it could be blocked by debris or ice. If the drain looks frozen over, you can try to defrost the drain with a hair dryer or by pouring a small amount of warm water in it. If this does not solve the problem, the tube or defrost pan may need to be replaced by a professional.
If the water is dripping from the back of the refrigerator or under the crisper drawer but the defrost drain pan is not blocked up, a leaking inlet valve or water system tubing could be the reason. These will also need to be replaced by a professional.
Icemaker or Water Dispenser Problems
If your icemaker is not producing enough ice, you could need more ice than your machine is able to produce, which is approximately 100 cubes in a day. Your freezer may also be too warm to produce ice properly, usually because the door has not been closed completely, the machine was only plugged in recently or the freezer temperature is set too low. Alternatively, the water hose may not be connected in the back properly, the hose may be kinked or you may not have enough water pressure in your home. To solve these problems, you can check the hose connection and ensure there are no kinks, but you may need to hire a plumber to increase your water pressure.
On the other hand, if the machine is not making ice at all, it could be due to the reasons above or because the icemaker is not turned on, the ice-detecting sensor is obstructed or the icemaker shutoff arm is obstructed. If fixing these problems doesn't correct the issue, your icemaker could be broken and may require a professional repair.
When the refrigerator is not dispensing any ice, it could be because the doors are not closed properly, the dispenser chute is blocked, the dispenser display panel is locked or because there is no ice in the machine. If none of these problems caused the issue, you may need a professional to come and repair the dispenser motor.
Washer Troubleshooting
Bad lid switch
If your washing machine does not stop every time you open the lid, your lid switch is bad. You may have to replace the lid switch.
Clogged waste hose
If your washing machine does not drain the waste water, the waste hose might be clogged. If the waste hose is only clogged, repair is as easy as removing and unclogging the waste hose.
Bad drain pump
If the waste hose has no clogs, the problem may be a bad drain pump. The drain pump could have a clog in it, too. Since the drain pump has a translucent cover, the clog should be visible.
If removing the clog in the drain pump has no effect, there may be a problem with it.
Bad pump motor
If waste hose installation guide and the drain pump installation guide did not solve the problem, it may be the motor. Since the motor provides the drain pump with the power to drain, the motor will have to be replaced.
Broken drive belt
If your drive belt is broken, the motor cannot turn the tub.
Bad tub motor
If your motor is not working, you will have to replace it. Make sure the washing machine is unplugged from the electrical outlet.
Water Heater Troubleshooting
RUMBUNG NOISE
In some water areas, scale or mineral deposits will build up on your heating elements. This buildup will cause a rumbling noise.
SMELLY WATER
In each glass-lined water heater there is installed one anode rod for corrosion protection of the tank. Certain water conditions will cause a reaction between this rod and the water. The most common complaint associated with the anode rod is one of a "rotten egg smell." This odor is derived from hydrogen sulfide gas dissolved in the water. The smell is the result of four factors which must all be present for the odor to develop:
A. A concentration of sulfate in the supply water.
B. Little or no dissolved oxygen in the water.
C. A sulfate reducing bacteria within the water heater. (This harmless bacteria is nontoxic to humans.)
HIGH TEMPERATURE SHUT OFF SYSTEM
The water heater has a high limit shut off system with a reset button located on the thermostat.
HYDROGEN GAS
Hydrogen gas can be produced in a hot water system that has not been used for a long period of time (generally two weeks or more). Hydrogen gas is extremely flammable and explosive. To prevent the possibility of injury under these conditions, we recommend the hot water faucet be opened for several minutes at the kitchen sink before any electrical appliances which are connected to the hot water system are used (such as a dishwasher or washing machine). If hydrogen gas is present, there will probably be an unusual sound similar to air escaping through the pipe as the hot water faucet is opened. There must be no smoking or open flame near the faucet at the time it is open.
NOT ENOUGH OR NO HOT WATER
In a new installation, the water heater may not be properly connected. Make sure the cold water supply valve is open. Review and check piping installation. Make sure that the cold water line is connected to the cold water inlet to the water heater and the hot water line to the hot water outlet on the water heater.

Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer - Mold in the washer caused by design defect. Model Number 79641572210. Sears refuses to resolve this issue.
I bought this washer a year ago and wish I could drop it off a cliff. It does not fill or clean well. I have to add water and run through deep fill cycles again (how does that save water)? Pant legs, sleeves, etc get tangled up in knots when spinning. Help! What have other done about this piece of garbage???
We purchased all of our appliance for our new home and have had nothing but problems with the icemaker in our Kenmore Elite fridge since the beginning. The ice maker either freezes all the ice together, wont dispense or wont make ice. My husband works on appliances for a living and has had to repair this problem several times. Now, it wont even dispense at all. We had to replace the main board a few months ago also. My parents bought the same fridge as ours right after we did and have had the same problems. And this last year, our friends bought the newer version of the same fridge and are also having the same problem. I know we are out of warranty, but we are very unhappy with this product!
The performance of this dishwasher is far beyond my wildest dreams. Excellent cycles and great washing abilities. It is whisper quiet and always shows the finest in quality and performance. This dishwasher holds a large amount of pots and pans and far exceeds what you realize you can get inside and get a great wash and rinse. Dishes are very clean and always can be trusted that no germs are ever left behind. This dishwasher is beautiful to look at and you are so proud when people come into your kitchen area. It is always very quiet and allows all conversations to be heard. The value of this dishwasher is far above what I ever expected. The value is pure quality and the service I get from it is outstanding.
I love my Kenmore refrigerator because I feel confident to leave all of my food and I love how save the electricity is. I feel lucky got this excellence and good quality. I love to recommend this to my friends and family, mini fact I did to talk about how good our refrigerator is. Happy and contented having this brand right now. Kudos to the company and the one who made this. Thanks!
2 years ago we bought a Kenmore oven. After several months of having it, I decided to use the self cleaning option. Our oven had no built up grease, and it really wasnt dirty because I take really good care of my things. I read the directions and proceeded. I have done this many times before with other stoves and no problems. After an hour I started smelling an odd odor. My husband said, that is normal, that is the cleaning odor you are smelling from the burn off of the cleaning process. I said I know that smell you are talking about and this seems different. It smells like burning wires or rubber. He said dont worry. After 1 1/2 hours it looked like there was smoke in the kitchen and I said I was too scared to leave the oven on, and the smell just got worse. I shut the stove off and waited until you were allowed to open it. The very top of door turned a yellow brown and the seal around the glass on the inside oven door melted. I am horrified to think what would of happened if I kept the stove on the time the manual said to? I have never used the self cleaning option again. Sears refused to do anything about it. We wanted the door replaced and they suggested a fifty dollar gift card instead! We are now having to replace this stove because I am afraid to use it. Several times after that sometimes when you would turn it on, there would be an unexplained smell, like burning. I was really scared the other day, I turned it on to my normal cooking temp. of 350 and it smelled like wires burning. I quickly turned it off and will now never buy a Kenmore or a stove from Sears again!!!
It works hard at a low cost. Cleans spot free, besides dishes and silverware also to my surprise it cleans pots and pans great. Low energy. Its a dream. Size is perfect for me and when my girls over. A lot of times we have several couples over for cook outs or dinners and it gets loaded even more and it operates the same way. The appearance is fairly simple like we wanted it yet its got that semi plain cool Hi-Tech appeal. We love it and Im sure you will love it too. It has the type of design that will look new for years. It will operate and appear new forever. Thanks Kenmore.
We bought a Kenmore front load washer in 2012. I was so excited and didnt even consider another brand, as Kenmores last forever, right? Sears has always been a company that has sold quality products and built a large company due to repeat customers. I was baffled re the lock button not releasing after the load was done and also the standing water staying after the rinse cycle periodically. This from day one of purchase off and on. I have given my manual a workout in the past two years trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Because based on being a third generation owner of exclusively Kenmore appliances, a two year old Kenmore washer would never have broken!A few months ago the standing water issue slowly progressed to the point of not spinning at all when the rinse cycle began. Out came the manual, again and again. Of course, the lock button wouldnt release due to the water level, so I drained it numerous times from the hose in the trap door. This takes over an hour and the hose is so short you have to use small containers and hope you can get one to the sink while holding the hose closed with your thumb. Then the nd error started coming on for a couple of loads and then it wouldnt do anything but hum - I cleaned every hose, snaked the drain, etc. I then called the water company who spent a couple of hours checking out the drains for roots while I tried to save the load of mildewed towels from my last load. They got a kick out of my bleach buckets and even the wheelbarrow filled with laundry :(After all options were gone I contacted Sears who sent a service tech out today. I spent $202.00 on a new drain pump with an option of buying a year warranty for almost $400.00!!! It would have been more, but I found a 20% off coupon for service calls online. I cant afford the extended warranty and even if I could, a year isnt worth that much. I am so upset, as I know I bought a lemon and am waiting for what is next. Sears, dont break your cycle of standing behind your products. I strongly feel I should be reimbursed. Please contact me.
I purchased a Kenmore gas range in Oct 2013: model#79036903 905 Serial #NF33430475. My complaints are many with this range, but the most difficult is removing the storage bin to clean the floor under the range. It entails super dexterity to pull up the clip on the left while holding down the clip on the right, at the same time pulling the draw outward. This can only be done if you straddle the draw. These clips are located on the far inner sides of the draw. Once the draw is out, there is a bar across the front that makes it difficult to get to the crud that gathers under that bar. Sears needs to rethink this design. I always purchased appliances from them. In the last few years, I am very dissatisfied with their products.
Plenty of storage, never had any problems, also very easy to clean and it is also energy efficiency. Easy to move to clean behind, easy water and ice hook up with filter. Easy slide out drawers and easy open fridge and freezer doors. The fridge side is big enough to fit $120 worth of groceries and the freezer is big enough for storage of ice cream and plenty of steaks, drawers are a decent size for your vegetables and still have room for a case of beer. The appearance is very modern and will go with any kitchen style and it is also easy to keep clean. You or your family and friends will tell you its a very good looking fridge. All refrigerators are little pricey but with the looks and quality of this fridge you dont mind spending the amount you will, so if you are looking for a new fridge you will have no issues with the cost.
It works really good, no problems with it. I can wash close for a really long time, back to back all day doesnt matter it wont wear out, I recommend it doesnt warm the whole house up in the summer either. I think you should try it. I bought mine used. Its a really good dryer, works really good. If you trust me I bought it at a used appliance store havent hand one problem with it. I like the way it looks I rather have the top open drying than the middle open dryer. It matches everything else in my laundry room too. Its white with the knobs and everything works really good. The price was really cheap since I bought it used. Im sure its expensive when you buy it brand new but all around its a really good dryer.
I am very happy with my Kenmore appliances. They are energy efficient and work very well. They arent over priced making them a definite value. The dryer was very good. Their dryer was large enough and had various settings and temperatures to dry a large load in an appropriate amount of time. It also helped keep the clothes from wrinkling. Also, the dryer was very modern looking. Nice dials. Wasnt overly bulky or large. They definitely keep up with the changing times and designs. Never had any issues with it while I owned it. It was definitely a worry free purchase.
Kenmore HE Washer, Model 110.21302013, cost on sale $449.95. Purchased this washer, along with the matching dryer on 3/29/2013. Did not take out an extended warranty. Now on 10/23/2014 the washer has quit spinning. I have tried everything to no avail. It sounds like the transmission will not kick in or maybe the actuator is not working to kick it in. I am sitting here now trying to decide if I should spend any money on it or just haul it to the dump and buy some other brand. It wont be Whirlpool as I know they make the Kenmore brand.
I had this washer for probably too many years, and my clothes were always fresh and even large loads were cleaned throughout. It was streamlined in appearance. The white was crisp and clean and aesthetically appealing. But one day it just quit, and nothing could save it. My washer stopped draining water and emptying liquid detergent (which was okay, just pop in little detergent pods) after a few years of use, but until that point it was just fine. I paid a hefty amount for the set, under the assumption that it would be worth it with the warranty I had, however, it was too good to be true and that enormous price tag made a huge impact.
Ive always had Kenmore washer and dryers. With little or no problems. I purchased the large capacity 700 series so I could wash bedding and large loads of jeans. With no agitator in the drum clothes and bedding does not rotate. When you load the clothes or bedding whatever is on top stays there and just floats around. Meanwhile what is on the bottom gets knotted up. What cloths are on top does not get clean. It seems the washer never adds enough water even if you select deep fill. The only loads it seems to work on are loads of white. IE white sock, underwear where the articles of clothing are small enough to get swished around. IMO this washer is the biggest p.o.s. The engineers that invented this washing system better go back to the drawing board.
My Kenmore electric range (Model #790-9421340D; VF 83045790) is about 5 years old. In December 2011, the range shut down completely due to a faulty control board for the variable temperature burner. I had the board replaced. A couple of days ago, I went to turn on this same variable temp burner and literally saw an electric current arc in front of my eyes! The surge caused my main circuit breaker to home to shut down cutting off all electricity. Thank God I was not hurt, but I shudder to think what might have happened. Obviously, I will be replacing this range, but not with a Sears product. We should expect that a major appliance should last more than a few years without needing repair. I will be shopping for a much more reliable product.
It did all of the things that I needed it to do and it fit in the space that I had. I would have preferred a larger one, but space was limited in my kitchen. I wished I could have had one that had a slightly larger freezer area but they were space constraints.. Otherwise I was completely satisfied. It had a good clean look, of course. I could only choose from either black or white. Again it had to do with the size that I had room for. The value of the refrigerator, freezer was very good for me. I purchased from sears and I was even able to receive a refund for the entire cost of delivery.
Did the job and never had any maintenance performed while living at the address. Consistent with other Kenmore appliances. Very reliable. Standard capacity accommodates the average kitchen utensils. No problems fitting in pots and pans. Top shelf held dishes, bowls and glasses. Plain front standard white. Easy to clean and did not stain. User controls were tilted at an angle towards the user. The drain was easy to clear when needed. Better value than an entry level washer. It did perform at a reasonable volume while also cleaning the dishes. Had no issues with dishes coming out dirty.
I own Kenmore Elite three door refrigerator. The light would not shut off inside. And the melted plastic in above the light housing bulb exploded because it was so hot. I called customer service. I was told that even though there are many complaints for the same problem, I had to pay for repairs. I unplugged the light and have to live with this until I can afford another refrigerator.
This dishwasher is very thorough and cleans so quietly I cant even hear it in the other room! A quick rinse is all I need before my Kenmore takes care of all the rest. Energy efficient and leaves my dishes sparkling clean! At 24 my dishwasher is compact enough that it leaves plenty of space for cupboards beneath the counter! Bowls, large plates, dishes and even space for all sorts of other sizes and even challenging sizes to boot! My Kenmore has a sleek and basic design that looks casual and classic without all of those buttons or knows. Plus, its easy to clean and comes in different styles; I like the simplicity of my white design! For overall value and the best price range for your budget, you truly do get the best bang for your buck with your new Kenmore washer.
This is definitely a brand I would recommend over Whirlpool which I have now. Kenmore products last longer and the clothes always seem cleaner. I had this washer for like 7 years and never had much problem with it. With the Whirlpool product I have now it seems like Ive called the repair company at least 8 times and I have only had the washer about 4 years. To me all washers look the same. Just some may be taller and a different color but what matters is how it performs on your clothes and if theres a warranty on the machine. The value of any washer/dryer is going to be expensive but the main thing is the performance it does on clothes and for me Kenmore products are definitely worth the value.
Came home Thanksgiving night to the immediate smell of burning plastic. Opened the dishwasher to see a flame at the bottom, the entire inside and all components melted, as well as all of my dishes cracked and melted! No recalls on this model and Kenmore/Sears hung up on me when I asked for a manager because they want to charge me $90 for a repair technician to come tell me it cant be fixed! Thank God my husband, kids, and I were not sleeping when this happened.
I purchased a Kenmore stove in September of 2013. The other night after baking a pizza, I turned the stove off by pressing the Stop button on the control panel. The panel started to spark, and then caught on FIRE! I was able to put the fire out, pulled the stove away from the wall, and removed the back panel. The control panel was completely burnt. Sears informed me that I should have bought the Master Protection Agreement for circumstances like this. It is 2 years old. Sears refused to stand behind their product and Vanessa, the company rep, informed me that I should have had it serviced yearly like it states in the manual. Nowhere in the manual does it recommend removing the back panel and checking the motherboard to see if it might potentially catch fire. Sears only attempt to make this right was to try and sell me a protection plan in case it happened again. An internet search showed that Kenmore stoves are known for this problem, but nothing is being done to correct it. I caution any buyer, DO NOT PURCHASE A KENMORE STOVE, and I would highly recommend that due to Sears lack of concern, do not purchase anything from this company.
I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator less than 2 year ago with the price of $2500. It looks very nice. But, until I use it, I found that the inside design is so difficult to clean. And, it just stopped working after 8 months. I was told it is the compressor issue by technician. So I spent $300 purchased a new compressor, and $450 labor to get it back to work. During the past year it seems to be working OK, but I found thick layer of ice always accumulate on the back wall. And, it just stopped working again. During the past year I dare not even making ice with the refrigerator. This is the worst refrigerator experience that I ever had! This brand just has no quality at all.
I loved the overall refrigerator and its performance. It ran quiet and there was sufficient shelves, however, I did not care for the freezer. For the most part, the refrigerators size fit all of my need items, except during Thanksgiving. I found it difficult to adjust the shelves to fit my 25 pounds turkey. The overall Appearance, for a standard refrigerator with a top freezer, was appealing. It was easy to wipe down and keep shiny. I would recommend it. The value was in line with what I got, but only because it was on sale. I would not have purchased this item for the non sale price. It was a pretty standard or basic fridge. No special features or bells and whistles. Nothing special inside, pretty basic.
Works as prescribed economical on energy and supports all kinds of dishware to use. Satisfied with its performance and quality. No problems whatsoever so far. Perfect for small family and retirees. Do not used every day but when I have to it always cover its capacity with its size and helpful with larger loads. Normal and good appearance under the kitchen counter and its normal appearance and capacity will use it under all conditions and until it will stop working. Normal value and what is expected from Kenmore brand Sears. Good guarantee and values from this maker. Always with plenty of parts in case you need them.
I have purchased Kenmore washers and dryers new as well as used. In my current residence I have both a washer and dryer that are both Kenmore. The dryer was purchased new and the washer was purchased used. I purchased the dryer at Lowes in PA. The price of the dryer was low and it was pretty energy efficient. The washer performs great for being used. It was only $50. The dryer performs all the functions that are needed. I dont like the newer electronic washers for several reasons. First, the cost it too high. Second, the cost of detergent is more as well. Third, I did purchase one and it ended up breaking. I paid a costly repair from a certified repair man and it ended up breaking again. I have also had friends and family members that have had similar experiences with the new electronic washers and dryers. But, mainly the washers.
I purchased a Kenmore Elite refrigerator in May 2015 and the compressor failed this month October 2018. I am highly disappointed that this costly refrigerator is beyond repair after 3 years. This company should be held responsible for this and provide compensation for the hundreds of dollars in losses.
Got CL err. Kenmore replaced the fridge, but process took over a month. Four months later same problem, but Kenmore decided to replace compressor. Looking at another month before part arrives. Most miserable experience ever! Thought with LG takeover things would be okay. Avoid Kenmore at all cost.
Works very fast and gets clothes very clean provided you use the right soap. Made sure that the lines are connected correctly. This was an item I bought on eBay and found that it was worth the price. Bought it bundled with a dryer. Cleans my items every time without fail. Only became unreliable when the top started to rust so I called the washer repair guy and asked to have the rust taken off. Instead they replaced the entire top of the washer. Appearance remained great until the rust showed up. The rust made the top of the dryer get dark and brown and strange. The appearance fell apart at that point. It was strange to see my clothes not look so nice at that point. It was very cheap, only a few hundred dollars so I was okay with the item totally falling apart when it did despite the fact that it was inconvenient. The value for me was perceived in the amount of money that I ultimately did not spend.
The Kenmore Washer washes and the dryer dries. They are white in color and get the job done. They are durable and they perform very well. My parents bought Kenmore and were satisfied with them and I have always bought Kenmore and have been very happy with the performance and how long they last. I have been satisfied.
I received poor customer service with a new refrigerator that worked for about 6 weeks! My new refrigerator stopped cooling. (Bottom freezer still worked fine.) I ended up throwing out a lot of food in my refrigerator. A technician was sent to my house who replaced a few parts thinking it was the thermostat. Fridge worked again. A few days before Christmas, we went to visit friends for a few days and returned to find that all of my food that I had bought for Christmas (around $500) was garbage. The fridge was up to 55 degrees and the freezer was at 6 degrees. That was about 6 weeks after the first time the technician came. My frustration was that nobody cared or could even suggest anything for me to do other than wait on a technician! I have been 2 weeks without a fridge and was told yesterday that the technician would order more parts! I have just redone my kitchen and this fridge has been a nightmare! I fear that when I unplug it, I will get water over my new flooring. It is so disheartening to spend so much on an appliance like this and to feel like you just need to garbage it and move on because nobody cares!
The product is very roomy and has enough storage for all of our groceries for the month. Keeps everything fresh and its top of the line! We never have any trouble keeping our veggies and fruits for an extended periods of time because the crispers keep a constant separate temperature from the rest of the fridge.
Old machine but is reliable and gets the job done well. Ive been using Kenmore appliances for a few years now and have never been disappointed with its performance. I know that every time I use it my clothes will come out clean with almost no lint left on them. It also isnt as loud as other machines out there. Standard look, not an eyesore in any way but not fancy either, it has the simple yet efficient look of dependability. It is all white and easy to clean or wipe down if detergent is spilled on it, good size so doesnt take up too much space in the garage. I bought this maybe 4-5 years ago and it still is working as good as the first year of owning it. The newer models look nice and have more features, but if this one gives me 5+ more years, Im satisfied with the model I currently have.
It keeps everything fresh and great. The ice maker is fast and water comes out tasting fresh. It has tons of room in both the fridge and freezer, and saves energy. I have a big family so I need a lot of room in a refrigerator. I really love it so much. It was worth what I paid for it. Ive had it for a while and still worked great.
I bought all 4 appliances at one time, Kenmore elite top of line bottom freezer/ref, dishwasher, microwave and electric stove. Ive owned them for at least 4 years and had problems with all of them. I paid top dollar for junk. What put me to post my displeasure was the refrigerator. About 1 month after warranty expired I began to receive Er 1F messages. I read on internet to pull the plug and it will resolve problems. I did it several times a year since then and problem would resolve and come back again. Now its becoming more frequent and water is now leaking from ice-maker. Going to change fan and motherboard to see if it solves the problem. Dishwasher also top of the line which I had to change major part that failed which caused major flood/water damage to house. Lucky that was still under warranty at the time. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Buyers beware. I signed up to a class action suit regarding refrigerator problems couple years back but did not hear back from group filing lawsuit. Sears and Kenmore should stop selling these inferior products with the elite tag. I had a GE appliances that lasted for 10 years or more which was much cheaper and more reliable than these terrible products. No wonder they were pushing me to purchase extended warranty cause there was known problems with these awful appliances.
I have owned this washer for 10 years and it has been reliable and easy to use. No bells and whistles just exactly the right features. Extra large tub washes big loads with ease. Very reliable, has lasted many years and washes consistently.. Lid switch broke and it was easy to replace with a new part from Sears. It was like $6 part and 10 minutes of work. Clean, white, easy to read knobs stands up to wear and tear easily. Nothing fancy or stylish but exactly what you expect from a washing machine. Cost effective to purchase and operate. It has lasted many years and still running great. The cost of this washer was low in comparison to fancier models.
I dont have it anymore, but when i did it was a good fridge, had good adequate storage, kept things cold and lasted a long time. I would definitely order another one down the road. We never had any problems fitting groceries into the fridge or freezer. It always accommodated all of our weekly groceries. It also fit everything in it for parties as well. It was ok from a visual perspective. It was white and kind of plain. But it did match the rest of our kitchen appliances and thus blended in well so I gave it a satisfied rating. It was durable and quiet, had great storage, lasted over sixteen years before dying. It held up its end of the bargain. So we were pleased with its functioning.
Purchased Kenmore Stainless Steel Cooktop Stove Sept 2015, now 5 months old, noticed rust bubbling up on the front door and lower draw panel about two months ago. At first I thought it was just a food stain but it would never clean up. Contact Sears repair, repairman sent and I was told not covered under their one year warranty because it is a cosmetic issue. I was then told that the stove is not really all stainless steel but partial and has other alloys mixed into it which is probably why it is rusting. I said that nowhere did it say this is not a 100% stainless steel and this is a definite consumer fraud, and misrepresenting the product as stainless. He said that is the way they all are at the $500 price you paid. Pure stainless steel stove would cost $4,000-$5,000. I was mislead to believe this was a stainless steel product, I am left with a new rusting 5 month old stove that no one will do anything about. BEWARE OF YOUR NEXT RUSTING KENMORE PRODUCT!!
Purchased a Kenmore fridge 2 years ago. Now compressor went up. Waiting for tech to fix it. I will never buy Kenmore again.... I paid less for other refrigerators models and lasted longer than this junk... Not to mention food went bad ugh!!!! There should be a class action lawsuit against this Kenmore product.
I bought the stove at Sears 2 years ago. 1 month later I had to replaced the control panel 100.00 dollars. 6 month later I had to replace a burner switch, burned out. And now my oven is out and I noticed that I have to replace the panel and all the wiring again. No thanks, I guess no oven until I CAN AFFORD A NEW ONE.
My oven has lasted nearly problem free over the years, and if I had problems that needed service, I could call and get it. My relative purchased a stove at the same time they both still work. They were seriously used for family cooking and truly held up to the task.
Ive had this dishwasher for a while and I love it. My dishes never break and they always come out clean. I dont have to rewash them because of leftover food residue. Its very reliable and easy to use. Even my children love it. My dishwasher perfectly suits my households needs. I normally run it in the morning after breakfast and in the evening after dinner. The only time I have to run it more than once night is when I have holiday or dinner parties. Other than that all my dishware and cooking ware usually fits in one setting. As far as my dishwashers appearance goes, I think it is very nice looking. It blends in with my kitchen and it is very easy to clean. I actually think it makes my kitchen look nicer. I think its a great buy for its value. It wasnt ridiculously expensive as I thought it would be to purchase a dishwasher. It works great and has all the feature I was hoping for. Also Kenmore is a very well known and great brand.
I have this Kenmore 500 Series washing machine. I wash tons of clothes all the time. Ive even switch to washing small loads. My clothes are never clean. They come out, they smell bad, the towels stink all the time because they cant agitate and wash. The water just runs through them and comes back out. It doesnt move the clothes and no theres nothing wrong with my washing machine. Its not broken. It just sucks. Dont buy this product. I think you guys should recall these washing machines.
Kenmore top loading high efficiency washer model 110.2810 - We purchased this washing machine from Sears for $750 on 12/2/2012 and did not purchase the extended warranty. It is now less than two years old and I came home the other day to find my basement flooded because the outer drum of the machine cracked. The repair person said he could not believe what he saw with this broken part and he felt this was clearly a manufacturers defect. It will cost $600 to repair my 2 year old washing machine. I called Sears to request that they supply the part for free so that I only needed to pay for the repair itself of $300 and was told I needed to call the manufacturer Kenmore. When I called the phone number that was posted by Kenmore I was told that I needed to contact the manufacturer directly as they could not help me. I told them that I thought I did call the manufacturer and they told me that I called Sears. I told them I got the phone number off of the Kenmore website and they said yes, they post that number but its actually to Sears. What kind of customer service is this? They then transferred me to Whirlpool who manufactures Kenmore. After talking with the rep at Whirlpool, she said they no longer manufacture Kenmore and that I need to call Sears because they sold it to me. This is a terrible way to do business. It would be nice if they would manufacture a reliable product that you do not need to purchase an extended warranty for an amount that costs half the price of the machine itself. They do this apparently because they know they are manufacturing a substandard product. This is an American based company and this is truly an embarrassment for our country to have such poor manufacturing supported by even worse customer service. I would sincerely hope that management takes a better look into how they continue to do business.
Do Not Buy Kenmore products!!! I purchased all new Kenmore. Elite appliances 3 years ago... plus a front load washer and dryer. Washer had to be replaced 18 months later. Microwave lightbulbs... requires 2... $35 a piece! Now the Elite bottom freezer refrigerator has died... 3 years and thousands of dollars later... same experience as everyone else here. No wonder Sears is going under. Customer service is HORRIBLE. Repairman finally came out and replaced the compressor... 2 days later and unit is not cooling enough. Now I have to go through this garbage again. Repairman said he has at least two of these repairs a day. Compressors are NO GOOD. STAY AWAY FROM KENMORE!!!
Big, useful, great product. The refrigerator is huge and has a lot of storage for fruit, meats, leftovers, juice, milk, butter and etc. The freezer too has a lot of space. The ice is automatic so you dont have to dig your hands in an ice bin. There is also filtered water. The size is very ideal. Many different storage places, racks, and etc. It is a very deep fridge so theres more space towards the back. The outside is very nice-looking with a steel glass looking. On the inside it is very contemporary looking with lots of shelving and storage. Great value. It has lasted me years with no problems. Everything works and looks the same as when I bought it. You just have to make sure to keep it clean.
As a family that used to have to wash dishes by hand we find the performance of this dishwasher to be excellent. It is used multiple times per day and cuts down time in the kitchen. The size of this dishwasher is perfect. There is always more than enough room to fit any dishes we have used for the last day or two, and plenty of room left over. I really like the black appearance of the dishwasher. It makes the kitchen look more modern and goes well with the other black/silver appliances. The real value of this product comes from the time we save having to spend in the kitchen. We already got it at a great price, and the time we save makes it a great value.
I always had a bunch of dishes to do and this dishwasher never let me down. It worked great and got the dishes spotless every time. Not one time did it ever break down on me. It held a lot of dishes and had enough space for breakfast lunch and dinner dishes from a family of 5. But it wasnt so big that it was bulky. The color was beautiful too. Shiny without being too shiny and was very easy to clean. It also wasnt too bright or too dull. It was just right. The biggest thing I was worried about was the price. With two toddlers to take care of I didnt have a lot of money but I was scared if I didnt spend a lot of money I would get something that didnt work good. With this I got something fairly priced that works great.
Yesterday while baking, the inner glass door of my 3-year-old Kenmore oven exploded, sending hot glass shards onto my kitchen floor and into the oven. Has anyone begun a class action lawsuit regarding this product? I have read numerous online reports that Sears does not back this product by repairing or replacing the oven door or damage to the owner. I attempted reporting to Sears customer service and was guided to how to dispose of the oven.
The washer worked great for a very long time. It cleaned our clothes perfectly. After at least 8 years of owning this washer the balance gears finally went out. So, we just recently replaced it. This washer lasted for more than eight years. It was a very reliable and durable washing machine. I would have purchased another just like it if they hadnt passed new HE regulations on washer sales. This washer was your standard Kenmore washer - without all the bells and whistles. It was a smaller bowl but could still easily fit a full sized load without fail. This washer was worth every penny spend to buy it. It lasted well beyond its perceived lifespan and always did a great job cleaning any load big or small.
I love the washers ability to have a small load or extra large load and choice of cycles from delicate to heavy duty. The dryer has several choices as well from delicate and air dry to heavy duty. Kenmores last and last with no service needed in over 10 years. Kenmores are the most reliable washers and dryers on the market. My friends have other brands and they have to call service as the dryer drum goes out or the washer stops agitating. Ive never had such problems with my Kenmore set. The knobs are easy to turn and are pretty, if you like knobs! You can get ivory or white. They have perfectly matched sets so look great wherever you place them, be it in a laundry closet, kitchen or basement. These Kenmore sets can be had for such a bargain price some may think they are cheap. What a wonderful bargain for something thats going to last and last.
I have both washer and dryer. They last a long time, very well built. It gets your clothes cleaned and dried fast. I would highly recommend this brand. Very trustworthy. When I need to replace my washer or dryer I will buy from Kenmore.
I have a built-in Kenmore microwave (not my choice). I just dont like it when compared to my older Whirlpool or Panasonic microwaves. It lacks the conveniences the others had and doesnt seem like it works as good as them. One thing that gets on my nerve is the weird sound it makes when it is done.
Everything about this experience was the best. Our washing machine went out. We decided to go buy a whole new set at home depot. The staff found what we needed and wanted in less than 10 minutes. He was very knowledgeable and polite. He even got it delivered the next day... And moved old set to the curb. :) This set has lasted for at least five and a half years. I have had no problems. I keep the warranty updated after my last incident... But also because I love this set the best. It fits my family very well. The kids are even starting to learn. This had everything I needed for my needs and laundry room. Every setting had been used many times over. Never have had a garment ruined. Everything is still very easy to understand... Especially with the ever so handy instructions... Lol. The value was simply stellar. I questioned the excitement at first... But the more I researched, I found that I was getting a great deal. Nothing has gone wrong in the five years that we purchased the set.
For the first few years, the refrigerator worked really well. However, for a few months the refrigerator would get very cold. Once the part was replaced, it worked great again. The refrigerator has a lot of room and accommodates all of the food we can fit into it. However, the freezer is pretty small; therefore, we struggle to fit all of our frozen foods into the freezer. The fridge is very sleek and looks great in our kitchen. It is not overly shiny (which is good because it is a white fridge) and blends well with our white kitchen. I would buy this brand again! We have gotten a lot of life out of our fridge. Therefore, the price we paid was well worth the investment because it has required minimal repairs over the years.
My Kenmore refrigerator has met my expectations. It is still working well and a second refrigerator is in my garage. I didnt really need a new one but wanted more modern features. I like that it was brightly lit and deep. I like the gallon size pockets too. At the time I liked the top freezer. I still use it as an extra refrigerator after all this time. Now I like having a bottom pull out freezer better than on top. My fridge has no stainless steel exterior. I could have gotten rid of it when I got new but it was working just as well as the day I got it.
Kenmore has a long-standing great reputation for appliances. I purchased my first Kenmore washer and dryer over 20 years ago and continue to stand by the brand today. The machines are easy to upkeep, and if one regularly maintains them, they will outlast any other machine out there. They are also easy to use, with no user-unfriendly parts or mechanisms. I love my Kenmores!
Fast and efficient. Very pleased. Great features and easy to use. Faster than the previous washer. Somewhat noisy, but does the job. Can handle loads of clothing. Is reliable and dont have to worry about if clothes will be washed or not especially for big loads of clothing. Had it for a long time and doesnt disappoint. Looks clean and simple. Does not take up too much space. Ergonomic design which makes it environment-friendly. Good appearance, worth the money. The money is worth the value. Durable. Clothes come out clean and warm. No issues with the machine since bought.
Kenmore appliances used to be reliable but have gone down so much that my husband as a builder, after using them for over 15+ years finally had to recently switch brand/distributors. Where to begin?! Less than one month after installation the refrigerator ice maker broke. Fixed it and it broke again. Now we just buy ice. We are so sick of dealing with appts etc. Its loud and seems to always be making all kinds of crazy noises. Our double oven also new - from the get go convection fan wasnt and still isnt working properly even after being “fixed”. Top element rattles loud even though screwed in tight, service tells us its because the inside is made so cheap they all rattle even if tightened - nothing they can do about it. So every time we cook we have to listen to a loud rattle. Every day I am reminded how much I despise Sears and Kenmore appliances for the garbage they sold us, wasted our money, and didnt stand behind. Our flat top stove is the only thing I love.
Its large and turntable works wonderfully. It hold my large 9x12 baking dishes. The power setting for reduced power does not work well! Difficulty getting 50% power intermittently ineffective. Other than that it is a good microwave.
It helps with cleaning and is something that can cut time in half if you need it too. It is great and I love everything it can do for me. It is great and it has a great capacity load for everyone that is in your family. It will be done instantly, the more you have the faster it will be done. The product alone speaks for itself. Can help in so many situations that is unthinkable. It is great at a great price and is easy to manage if you are interested in it. The basic things are great but having this to use for cleaning dishes is better and it is great for someone who has a lot of kids and is someone who is in a rush.
The washer works extremely well as does the dryer. Very satisfied. I have had the washer and dryer for the last five years. I have never had a problem with the washer or dryer or dishwasher I currently own. I have owned the washer, dryer for over a year. The washer cleans the clothes very well. My dryer works extremely well. It usually takes approximately one half hour to dry a medium size load. My utility bill is extremely low because I use washer and dryer up to ten times a week. I am able to wash and dry blankets in the washer and dry them in dryer, so I am so glad I dont have to go to the laundromat to do my laundry.
I purchased this washing machine in April 2010. It was okay for about a year then it started to display SUD and code F35, and would not run on any setting. This was a defect and Sears should offer a recall. A washing machine at this price should last for more than 2 years. After reading the other reviews with the same problem, I have decided to purchase a new washer and it will not be a Kenmore from Sears ever again!
Quality, reliable, and built as solid as sears. Top notch performance. Been using it for over 5 years and never had any issues with it. Everything works beautifully. The freezer can hold all the familys poultry and meat for all our get together. Very big space for the dairy, veggies and baked goods. It is exactly what I need. Size was to store all the refrigerated goods, roomy right temperature. Fits well in the kitchen without being in the way of anyone or thing. Its just the right size for self or family, is very nice, beautiful, white color. Easy handle to open and shut. It is worth the value I paid for. Its nice appearance, easy to handle and take care of. Nothing complicated in using. It comes with owners manual of operation.
I bought this unit in November 2018. Within a week I k e I was not happy with it. I should have returned n.j dd it right away but really needed a washer/dryer. #1 it is extremely noisy. I call customer service and they sent somebody to come look at it. He even call the tech while he was here and let him listen. He ordered a new clutch ut. It didnt help and told me that is just the way it was. Then I realized just how user unfiendly it is. You have to start filling it, stop it to put detergent in, start again then stop to put clothes in. Then you have to pay attention to when the rinse cycle starts. Stop again to put the fabric softener in. If you dont catch it you are screwed and have to do a rinse and spin cycle!!! I hate this machine and will never buy another Kenmore! If I could sell it I would and get something else. Very unhappy customer. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE!
Our Oven/Stove is a Induction Stove top and its wonderful, the best appliance we have ever owned. Set the temperature the same for cooking items and get great results. Cools quickly, no burning your fingers. The confection setting for the Oven works so much better than a standard oven as well, cooks more evenly. Love this appliance.
In July and September my refrigerator was repaired because it wasnt maintaining proper temperatures. Right now (6 Nov) I cannot get the freezer to get below 10 degrees. It is so painful to take everything out of the refrigerator.
The Kenmore countertop microwaves we have perform as superb as larger models. A quick coffee warmer or an 8 minute roast thaw provide excellent service. This small model Kenmore is no exception, though it’s at the top of my pick of small microwaves. Where it excels for me is at defrosting. I give the Kenmore an Excellent rating. Our new Kenmore is very quiet and speed of heating earns a Great rating. Heating evenness gives it a Great level rating also. I have not tried our Kenmore microwave with Alexa. We dont use Alexa much. In the basics category Kenmore earned an Excellent rating for predicted reliability as well as owner satisfaction. You will enjoy all Kenmore microwave products.
We have a 5 and 1/2 month old new home with all new appliances and this Kenmore microwave oven went out five weeks later. It took five weeks to get them out for repairs. It went out again in five weeks. He put everything new in that he thought would make it work. Now about five weeks later, it quit working again. Almost three weeks later, they will be back. We are using an Emerson oven from Wal-Mart we have had for years. There is only two people living in this house. I am 72 and my wife is 70. We are very careful and use our appliances with care. This is our first new home and have bought from Sears for years. We are very, very disappointed in this handling and oven. Could you please give us the service we have given you over the years? We are Christian people who expects the same service as we have given. It is apparent that this is a lemon oven and we expect your cooperation in this matter. We are very disgusted in the oven. We wait upon you for help. Thank you.
The performance is very good and satisfying and meets my daily needs. It helps clean our clothes without any damage or tear. Its an useful piece of furniture for me and my whole family. I can rely on it to really clean my clothes without damage to it. It doesnt break easily or leak at all like my old ones. I count on it to do its job while being quiet washing. The way it is built is very professional like and not poorly built. Its easy to find buttons and get used to while cleaning clothes. I really love how it matches my decor since its white. The value is very nice. Its not too cheap or too expensive. Its just right for my liking and my familys liking. Also my husband likes using it a lot. It gets the job done. Very worth its money.
The Kenmore refrigerator was here when I moved and it works ok and keeps things cold and frozen. Also, it has ice maker but I dont use it because I do not use tap water.
I did choose the slide-in model not realizing that there is an oven size compromise, so it is no fault of Kenmore. The programming features are too many to understand, too. But oven and warming drawer work great and the placement of top burners is good, however, I wish there was a medium-size burner for saucepans and also wish I could use cast iron on the smooth top. Overall, Ive turned out many great 25 pound turkeys with all the trimmings for Thanksgiving.
I got the washer with the wash plate.. HE high efficiency in 2011 from Sears... I dont know how its suppose to save power because it takes so long to do a load and it dont wash the clothes clean either even with a second cycle. Maybe it takes less water but NOT. When I have to wash the clothes two and three times to get them clean. I would not recommend this machine if you have a well. I hate the lid lock. If the power goes out when the machine is going you cant get your clothes out. Twice now I have had to call a repair person to fix the controls after power outages... I really wish I had never bought this machine now. Its the worst washer Ive ever had.
It saves me time and money and is great for all families especially big families. I love the fact that I can make anything and at the end of the day, I dont have to clean dishes. The size is almost perfect. My family size is big so I love the fact that I can put many dishes into my dishwasher. I can cook lots of things because my dishwasher can handle lots of dishes. It is amazing! The appearance isnt really a big deal to me just as long as it gets the job done. I love the fact that my dishwasher is silver so it blends in with anything. My dishwasher value is perfect. I love its incredible cleaning skills. I love the color. I love the size. Id totally go recommend it to anyone. Its great.
I used it for around 3 months, and in that time period it did a good enough job. Well I have a family of 5, so usually when I did dishes I had to do 2 loads to fit everything in and get it cleaned. It wasnt too much of a hassle, my family uses a lot of dishware. It definitely looks good in any modern kitchen. My specific dishwasher was silver with black trim on the top. It was compact and it didnt take up too much space. Overall it looked good and even added to the room it was in. I wasnt able to test it enough before I moved, there was a brand new dishwasher at my new house. So I cant say for sure but for what Ive seen Id say it was well worth the money. I didnt have a single problem with it when I used it.
We bought a Kenmore refrigerator from Sears in April of 2015 and in the last few weeks it started having a problem with cooling. We called a Kenmore appliance repair 800 number and a repair person came out within 3 days. They checked it, cleaned the coils and charged us $294. The refrigerator did not improve and in fact stopped cooling at all. We called the Kenmore repair number again and this time it took them at least 10 days to come back and when they finally returned we were told that the compressor was out and that it would cost $941 to repair. That is absolutely unacceptable for an expensive refrigerator to be 4 years old and stop working when the average life expectancy should be between 14 to 17 years. This speaks volumes about the poor quality of this product. I think that Kenmore should be embarrassed to have a product that doesnt even come close to living up to the standard that it claims. As a consumer, I have no respect for a company that only thinks of themselves with no concern for the hard earned dollars that are required to purchase their product. Consumers! Save yourself the hassle and money and purchase a different brand.
I purchased a complete line of Kenmore Elite products to furnish my new house in September 2010. Fast forward 1.5 years later, the indoor ice maker stopped working. I lived without ice for a while until I could find a good time to get a repairman out from Sears to fix it (2013). Now, the seals on the doors collect condensation and seem to build up a residue, special. Last night, I was surprised to have the exterior glass of my oven explode on to me whilst baking at 400. 400.... pretty average baking temp, nothing thrown at the oven, dropped on it, smacked to it, nothing. Just a surprise explosion and a cut to the shin from the tempered glass flying at me.
It runs great, smoothly and quietly. The exterior is easy to clean and manage (it doesnt show fingerprints or spots as much as other stainless steel products) and the interior is durable and functional. I love this refrigerators size. It fits all of our frozen and fresh items perfectly. The shelves are easy adjustable and the baskets make for easy access. The exterior is a great color and easy to keep spotless. It easy to keep fingerprints at bay and to keep looking fresh and new. Kenmore is a great name for appliances and this refrigerator keeps up to that name and promise. For the price this is an outstanding fridge.
Its a great refrigerator for its price. Works to keep everything just the right temperature. I have had the same fridge now for over 7 years and have had no problems. Next time I get another. This fridge can hold enough food for a family of 5 for at least a whole month. Next time I get a fridge though, Im going to get a side by side because its so hard to fit a lot of food in that top freezer part unfortunately. Its very plain but it does its job. Just add a few magnets to it though and bring it back to life. Other than appearance, its an awesome fridge. This fridge is a great value for its money. I didnt have to spend a lot of money at all and this fridge has lasted a little over seven years.
The Kenmore refrigerator is not only great at keeping food refrigerated, but offering cool, clean water. The water that comes from our ref is consistently at the perfect temperature and tastes great. It also makes ice, both cubed and crushed, which is extremely useful and much better than the alternative off smashing an ice bag down to get a couple cubes. The size is pretty great, though sometimes the spacing is a bit off in regards to the shelves. It can be difficult to place certain pitchers onto the shelves, due to the spacing of the shelves. Still, it is very spacious and contains a couple of drawers that are great for keeping our food organized. Our Kenmore refrigerator looks modern and sleek, yet also futuristic. The water/ice dispenser lights up, which not only looks nice but is great for those midnight trips to quench your thirst! In this day and age, it is absolutely necessary to have a ref. And while it is not necessary to have a direct source of filtered water, it saves plenty of money to have one, which the Kenmore provides. It also helps to reduce the amount of plastic we use, since we no longer need to buy water by either the gallon jugs or bottled - and, at least to me, that is priceless.
We bought a 110 series Kenmore washer in Jan 2013. Last week we noticed it was slowly dripping water into the tub. I researched and investigated everything and found out it is likely the inlet water valve. So I bought a new one for $50 and will replace it myself since it is easy to do. Were still very dissatisfied though. Our last Kenmore 110 washer lasted almost 20 years without a single repair before the motor burned out. Thats why we bought another Kenmore but maybe we were just lucky with that one.
I purchased two Kenmore Elite refrigerators ($1000 ea) three years ago. One has totally quit cooling or freezing. Was told it had a freon (?) leak and would cost almost as much to repair as to purchase a new one. A three year old refrigerator quits working and needs to be replaced? A Sears owner/rep told me all refrigerators today are undependable and this was not unusual - something never mentioned by them in their sales pitch when I bought this piece of garbage. Others I have talked with have had the same issue with Kenmore refrigerators.
I purchased a Kenmore brand gas range in February 2008 for over $1,000 on sale. Sears installed. I found out upon delivery that it was manufactured by Electrolux. I was unhappy with the stovetop from the start. Its almost impossible to clean once something spilled on it while hot. Functionally, it worked okay. However, when doing self-cleaning process, the oven never really seemed to get clean. On Saturday, March 16, 2013, I ran a cleaning cycle for only 2 hours as it was not that soiled. As per the salespersons instructions, I also cleaned the cast iron stovetop grates in the oven. I noticed that after 30 minutes after cycle completion, stove is still radiating a lot of heat. It was then I noticed that the clear cover over the touch plate on the control panel was melted and discolored. The touch pads would not function. I contacted Sears Appliance and was told I could purchase warranty coverage; otherwise, there would be a service call as well as parts and labor. When I asked if there had been any similar problems, I was told no. When I asked why I would be charged if it was a manufacturing defect, I was told to contact Kenmore. So I contacted Kenmore and was advised it was not covered by any warranty, there were no problems known and no recalls had been issued. Upon checking online, I found numerous similar complaints regarding the control panel melting and one case where the oven actually caught on fire within five minutes of starting cleaning cycle. The individual model numbers were not listed nor the manufacturer. But since most of Kenmore appliances are made by the same manufacturer and just labeled Frigidaire, Electrolux, Tappan, etc., I figure it doesnt really matter. Using my preferred appliance repair person, the panel was replaced at a cost of $298. I had to order the touch pad from Kenmore and Im expecting a 2-3 week wait for delivery and additional cost of $22 for part. Labor is unknown at this time. I know appliances are only built to last 3-5 years anymore, but this still poses a real hazard. Im afraid to run the self-cleaning cycle now for fear of a repeat incident and additional expense. The repairman stated he was unable to determine what caused the malfunction. I believe its partially a design problem as one oven vent is directly below the control panel. I received no satisfaction from Sears or Kenmore. Im wondering if a class action has been discussed.
I cannot do a large load in my Kenmore washing machine and the dryer has to be started twice to dry clothes. If a pillow is in the washing machine I have to spin it twice to drain the water.
I have had excellent luck with previous Kenmore appliances that I have owned in the past. I have noted that my previous Kenmore appliances are a good value and that they last a long time when they are cared for on a regular basis. I like the refrigerators automatic Ice cube maker, top freezer with the refrigerator on the bottom and adjustable shelves. Plus the almond color matched the paint colors and decor of my kitchen. But I would like to see a water filter added to the incoming water line from the house supplying the automatic ice cube maker to purify the incoming water for the ice maker. It would keep the ice cubes better and cleaner.
We bought our Kenmore Elite Model #795 72052 112 on Feb 23, 2013 and guess when our fridge develops a problem -- of course, one month exactly after the warranty expires. Apparently, we have the same problem as several others - the ice maker fan is not working and we get the ER F1 on the display panel. It melted the ice and it dripped on our laminate flooring creating more problems.
I would pick a stainless steel but I pick a black Kenmore refrigerator instead which I love. It had an ice maker, a lot of space and a lot of shelves and two crisp container. There was enough room in the freezer area for the meat and anything else that need freezing. When you open it up the side door has a lot of space and a place for your eggs and butter. I love the space, the coolness the refrigerator stayed and how wide the refrigerator was. I like Kenmore brands. I think its the best out there and that you couldnt find a better brand.
Kenmore dishwasher is very quiet and Im very pleased with the job it does. I know even my heavy cleaning jobs will be completed to my liking and I never had to rewash. Easy to use, load, clean and maintain its shine. Looks modern and uncomplicated... Truly love at first sight. Its size is perfect for my kitchen and small family. Leaves room for all my other appliances. Fits right under my counter so it looks right at home. Its compact, but still has plenty of room. For what I spent I feel it was well worth it. I get value from its cleaning, energy efficient, style, and the added free time I get.
I was kind of upset because I didnt know that I bought this product used. There were a lot of things that needed to be fix even though the seller didnt tell me that something was wrong. But after I fixed it, it worked like a charm and loved it ever since. The size of this product squeeze right in the area that I had. Any bigger then I would had to take the product back to the store. But I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend buying this product. But buying it used of course. The appearance is nice to look at. I like the black color of this dishwasher. Very nice and matte color. It would look good in each and every kitchen. The value was good, I didnt pay much for it. The only problem that I had was like I said I didnt know I was buying it used and it came with a lot of problems so I put more into this product than expected but I am very happy that I bought it because it gets the job done.
It lasts a very long time. I love the ice maker in the refrigerators left door. Another cool thing about the fridge is that it has a lot of space for any groceries you buy. The size is very amazing. When I first got it, it surprised me. The best part about it, it keeps everything nice and cool inside the fridge. The Kenmore 50023 has a very nice appearance. It just pops out in my kitchen. When a family member, or a friend comes over, he/she asks me how did I get it. The value on the Kenmore 50023 isnt that good but it definitely beats other refrigerator prices. I would give it a 5/10 on value and price.
Use for 2 loads 3 times a week. Never breaks down. Always works clothes. Come out clean. Whites are white. Dark clothes clean. No soap buildup. Not a lot of noise – a quiet machine. Have experienced no problems. Works perfect first and last use. Would recommend to family and friends to purchase. Not very flashy but the controls are easy to understand and use. Fits in nicely with my basement laundry area. White and clean. Compact – does not take up a lot of space. Small but efficient. Great value for the price. Reliable. Hard working. Easy to operate. Best washer I have owned as of this time.
My daughter gave me her brand new Kenmore Elite Oasis washer and dryer. The appliances were reinstalled by professional tradesman who has installed hundreds of appliances. Right from the beginning the washer did not clean clothes properly. There were clumps of dirt and pints on the clothes, requiring repeated washings. The spin cycle would show unbalanced sign and stop. It did not matter if the clothes were redistributed or some or most taken out, the machine was just hung and it took most of the day to spin one load dry. I had to wring my clothes by hand on many occasions and put it in the dryer half wet. Not long after it was not spinning, it started to make clucking sounds as if someone was changing gears improperly. Then it started to leak. All over the laundry room. I cleaned all connections, replaced the hose screens, had it balanced etc. It would leak a little, but on second wash it leaked all out again. Called Sears and was told I was on my own as they did not honor any defects and warranty was past. This in my opinion is criminal. Selling defective products and doing nothing to fix the problems. Shame on you Sears! Needless to say I wont be fixing this washer, as I have also been told it is futile to do so.
My Kenmore Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #795.7305 has proven to be a disappointment. Although interiorly spacious with Ice & Water dispenser, a total of 7 bins on either side of the doors & various other nice features, I must warn you, BUYER BEWARE! I have owned this refrigerator LESS than 5 years and have already had to replace two door bins and the ice door bin. All are made of plastic and all bins cracked. The PLASTIC ice door bin costs just under $153. That is some expensive PLASTIC! When consulting the Sears parts department, they mentioned that the new and improved Ice bin is stronger (which leads me to believe that other customers have had same experience and that is why they have revamped the ice bin. The warranty on the $153.00 new, improved PLASTIC ice bin is only ONE YEAR. 365 days! Gone are the days of sturdy, long lasting appliances from Sears. Buyers please think twice! At least with this model. Oh, its just my hubby & I who are in our 60s, so there is no slamming of refrigerator doors or rough handling of these plastic pieces.
I do not like my washing machine. When it is finished washing there is one pieces of clothing that literally covers all the clothes and appears to tuck all the clothes in under it. Sometimes the piece on top is not totally wet and I wonder if it even got washed. Then I wonder if the ones under it got washed because they are so neatly tucked in. It looks like a loaf of bread waiting to rise in a bowl. I have been careful the way I load it, but it still comes out wrapped up, especially when I do sheets. The bottom sheet always wraps everything. I also have a problem with the dark load coming out with white spots. I use the All pods and have to cut the pod and put the detergent in the dispenser. And... the softener never completely empties.
The first wash brought my utensils and dishes back to life - everything was clean and shiny. It is a great machine for the price we paid. Have had this for about a year now, no complaints or problems with it. Size is perfect for my household. Although there was absolutely nothing wrong with our dishwasher, we decided to get the one that matched our other appliances. We werent sorry! This is an excellent appliance. Its quite running and does a great job of cleaning the dishes. Its easy to operate.
I do repair work. I was called out to help because a family had issues and their plumber was busy. I replace, on average, one hot water tank a month. Warranty is not what they claim at the store. The tank was manufactured in July 2010 with a 6-year replacement warranty. But when you call, you need to pay to have their service person come out to verify the problem. The earliest appointment is June 6th. This is Tuesday (almost 1 week from Memorial Day). Towel test was done to verify no leaks around fittings including the elements. The tank is defective. I was transferred to 5 different people (90 minutes on phone until the rude, older person and I got disconnected). Their response: We know it is not right, but we could fit you in the Tuesday after Memorial Day. Everyone agrees they are sorry and they would not want to be without hot water, but should I make you the appointment for you or can I help with anything? Really **. So I want everyone, when they need a hot water tank, to run to Sears.
It never gave us a lick of trouble, the 8 years we had it. We got for a house warming gift, the seals were all tight up to the day we gave it to some less fortunate friends of ours. From the freeze to veg. and lunch meat trays did their job, the best aspect of the whole thing was the elec. bill never went sky high. We loved it, we went out and bought a side by side with water and ice dispenser. The freezer, cold storage for meats, veggies, and butter, and everyday grocery, racks were plenty spacious for a family of two, then came the little one. We had no problem with all the formula and all that comes with having a baby, plus plenty of room for my beer. The color was eggshell white, nice texture, easy to clean even with smokers in the house. It fit right in with the cupboards, style and got a lot of compliments on it, who would of thought a ref. Even though we got IT FOR HOUSE warming gift, I would see our model or close to it that it would be very affordable for our budget, we had just bought a new vehicle, so if we had to buy we could of, it was very reasonable.
Never had any problems. Had lots of space, kept everything cold, didnt freeze vegetables and cheese, self defrosted freezer, was quiet, never runs loudly, keeps frozen food frozen, not frostbitten.
It washes well and is efficient at getting stains out usually. It is not too loud also. I feel it is quite durable at the same time. I am quite satisfied with it. I have only had one breakdown in 6 years and had to call a repairman to fix it but for the most part I have no issues with my washer when I want to use it. It is not that stylish compared to some of the newer models out there especially the other brands but it is attractive enough that it can blend in with my home decor. It could be a little more appealing but it is okay. Considering the reliability of the machine and how long I have had it coupled with the reasonable price I paid I feel that this is a good value for what I spent.
