Product Reviews:

My husband and I bought a top loading digital, true balance washing machine about a year ago. Since our first wash load, it has been nothing but trouble. The thing constantly goes off balance and it honestly sometimes takes a WHOLE DAY to wash 1 load! Also, our water bill has tripled since we bought the machine, because every time it goes off balance it tries to balance itself by adding more water! We will never buy an LG product again! BEWARE!

Just bought the Whirlpool 3.5 cu ft, Top Load HE washer (model WTW4815EW), but of course, the sales person did not explain that "HE" meant LOW WATER USAGE. Wish I had done my homework. FIRST LOAD, clothes seem to be beaten to death, and must pour in detergent before you load clothes. So, Oxyclean detergent I always used in my regular (NOT HE) washer put a hole in one towel and discolored (faded out) the others. Also seems that the fast and hard agitator would not (logically) last very long. It seems to be working very hard. I'm SO disappointed. Called Whirlpool to say I don't like it. They said to call Home Depot and see what they will do about an exchange. When I did, my sales person said that almost all the washers he sells are HE. I want the old type washer back that allows me to add more water if I want, change the cycle and water levels at my discretion, add detergent when I want to, and soak clothes if I wish.

Last July 2010, I bought a Whirlpool Washer with model # WFW975OWW01. It broke down Sept 2011. Fourteen months so it's out of warranty. I paid a serviceman $136 to tell me it needs $1,350.00 worth of parts and service. I sent an email to Whirlpool for help but no response.

Washer is only 2 months old. Clothes do not get clean. Huge amount of detergent residue is left on clothes even after running 2 full cycles. Now clothes and comforters are literally ripping in half. Repairman found defect in the tub ring causing the rips. Neither LG nor Best Buy will allow me to return it for a different model. I'm stuck with an 800-dollar washer that can't clean and needs a repair at 2 months old. I will never buy LG product again.

It is the best washing machine I have ever owned. Cycles are done much faster than I ever would have to possible. It easily handles all of my garments, from the bulkiest ones to my most delicate items. This is the most reliable appliance I have ever owned. It is extremely dependable and that is very important to me as I have to do laundry every day. I have never had a problem with its performance and it has never needed one repair. Its physical appearance is absolutely stunning! It's so smooth and sleek. It looks very high tech and like it is of very good quality. It compliments the color scheme in my laundry room perfectly and really brightens up the whole room. This appliance is a very good value. My friends and family, anyone we have over to the house that happens to see it always ask how much I paid for it and are so surprised when I tell them that they ask for more information on it and say they would consider buying one too.

I am dissatisfied with my LG top load washer. It is only 3 yrs old and constantly giving UE and UE error code especially on special wash cycles. I had an appliance tech over and paid the $50.00 service charge and they are pointing to the computer and possibly the stator or both. I am scheduled to have an "Authorized LG Repair company next week analyze the problem. This visit will cost $75.00 and it can be applied to the total repair. This is not an isolated problem and I am sure LG is aware of it and they don't care! There is a class action lawsuit against LG for certain models with the same problem but mine is not included. What? Give me a damn break LG. Do you know that you have lost me a future customer and I am now warning others to stay away from your washers! I will let you know if I am going to get it fixed or junk it later.

I have had the Maytag Bravos washer since November 2010. This washer does not clean clothes. They are never even submerged in water. Had I known this, I would never have purchased it. The salesman at Sears surely didn't mention it. I remember being disappointed at the fact that there wasn't a washer in the place with an agitator. I am disgusted with the washer and the company. I realized that it has been over 12 months since we purchased it, but most people do not feel the need to investigate what is going on under the lid of their washer. I unfortunately assumed that the washer was going to wash! Silly me. No, it does a little spin spin and a little spritz of water (literally, that's it) and at the end, you are left with funk concentrated in the creases of your twisted up, stinky clothes. No agitator plus no water equals no clean! The smell is awful. Someone else described it best - a mildewy basement.Anyone else who is claiming that their clothes do not stink with this machine are surely being deceived by strong perfumes in their detergent and fabric softener. To get a true idea of what their clothes really smell like, they should wash a few times with a scoop of borax and no fabric softener. Then tell us how they smell. I am convinced that the entire line of HE washers is a sophisticated line of crap! They use such small amounts of detergent because that little bit of water going into it will not get any more soap out, much less sweat, dirt and lots of other nasty stuff. This may not be a big deal to other people, but it is huge to me. We have a small homestead. Our clothes get dirty. We spent several hundred dollars of hard earned money on a name we trusted and they do not care.Every load, every day, I am reminded of this fact and it infuriates me. I'm not typically one to write in complaints, but as an American citizen where there is a free market (somewhat), I have an obligation. If a product is really good, the makers deserve my praise. Likewise, if the product is really bad, the makers (and refuses to compensate in any way) deserve my complaint, as do my hardworking fellow Americans shopping around for a new washer. Stay away from Maytag and if at all possible, stay away from HE machines. It is so true that they don't make them like they used to.PS: Maytag tried to blame this issue on government regulation when I called. I'm sick of this passing the buck. I am fully aware of the chokehold government regulations have on business, but they only hurt small business. To act as if this is not a partnership between the government and big business (like Maytag) only adds insult to injury. Take a look at the money spent lobbying by this company. Disgusting. The good news is, any success they currently enjoy will not last.

We purchased the washer in July 2013. We did not put the washer in the new home until Oct. of 2013. It has had approximately 20 loads of laundry done in it. It senses, takes on water, agitates, drains and then it tries to spin but does not, just runs. I have to move the selector to drain and spin to get it to spin. I contacted Sears and Kenmore. They said we are responsible for repair even though the washer has had very little use.

Worst washing machine I have ever owned. I gave it one star only because it was a required field and would not accept a negative number. The washer leaked from the bottom within a few weeks and left the clothes smelling musty. Have tried running bleach through the machine and always leave the door and detergent drawer open. My wife has developed asthma which we suspect may be from the musty clothes. So we have stopped using the LG washer.

I bought the Maytag Centennial Washer a year ago. I have had nothing but problems. The clothes never get fully wet so you have to wash clothes 2 or 3 times. The lid does not open when running. So you can't put soap after the clothes are damp. I say damp because they don't get wet. Right now the sensing light has been on for 2 hours. I need to catch a flight in the morning and I cannot wash my clothes! My white clothes never get clean. I have to wash 2 or 3 times. Actually 4 time would work better. The water and electric wasted with washing over and over again is nuts. Stay away. I've warned you!
