I am now facing my 5th repair appt about my 2 year old microwave. I have spent nearly $300 on repairs to be told I can purchase a new one for 50% off. Well, $426 plus my $275 I have paid IS A NEW One! 20 hours of me having to be available for service. I did not know the life of this appliance was 2 years. GE complaint number **. Microwave set on fire. I was heating a microwaveable item I have used many times previously. Luckily I was beside the microwave. A few seconds Into the time, I saw flames inside. The metal plate on right hand side has a hole in it now where the flames were and is burnt. I see another person reported this. I loved this microwave but will never buy another one. We built a new house 3 years ago and installed 10 Miele whitegoods. Favourite item is the Speed Oven used daily. Unfortunately the glass tray has fractured along the entire front and LHS corner broken off from the door springing shut. This renders the oven partially useless now as glass tray is the primary tray. Cost to replace is very expensive being the only downside of the wonderful product otherwise.

We bought this microwave at a Sam's club in July of 2011. It started giving us trouble with the door switch in January of 2012. I contacted Panasonic customer service. I received the "Sorry sir, but your warranty is expired" excuse. I lost the receipt so I couldn't take it back to Sam's. The problem is not so much the switches, but the poor design that Panasonic has. They have the entire switch assembly screwed to a flimsy piece of sheet metal which buckles under the stress of the door closing. This makes it where the switches never get tripped to complete the circuit for proper function. So we still have this piece of junk microwave and hope to replace it in the near future. Definitely not with a Panasonic, maybe a Kenmore. The one we had before this piece of crap lasted 10+ years.

We bought an LG microwave model LMV1683ST. It was manufactured in December 2012. The top of the microwave caught on fire near the light inside. This is very dangerous to say the least. We purchased the microwave at Home Depot. Avoid this model at all costs. It looks good but it's also very loud.

I purchased a new LG Range and LG Microwave in April 2019 -installed in May 2019. In October of 2019 the Magnetron and motor fan failed and needed replaced. This was serviced and covered by LG. Now come November of 2020. The motor fan and magnetron is failing again... Was on phone with LG for over an hour explaining that this should not happen in a microwave AGAIN in the short amount of time that I've had it. LG will not do ANYTHING since it's out of my warranty period.After a very lengthy conversation with a manager- they agreed to cover the Magnetron part only (then to find out by a service company that these are covered for 8 years regardless). No help on service fee or the fan part being paid for either. The quote to get this fixed is higher than the cost of a new microwave. Very disappointed. My very cheap microwave before I bought this one lasted 10 years. What gives LG? Don't make customers beg and plead for help on a failing product. There is NO way this microwave should fail this quickly. I believe I received a defective product from the beginning. So frustrating.

I really like my microwave. It's a really good brand. I got a lot of used of it, the size is great, perfect for my kitchen not too small and not too big. Although the value is a little bit too expensive.
