I bought a Viking refrigerator because of its looks as well as the companys reputation. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and knowledgeable as compared to the other dealers that I saw and I had a very pleasant experience. I like how simple the unit is and so far, Im impressed with its quality.

Everything with Viking range is beautiful and works great, but there’s a couple of things we’re concerned about, that aren’t working right. The racks in the oven are not lined up right. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. And I got the microwave oven, the drawer one, to go with the stove and a part of it looks warped. But other than that, it’s perfect. I love it. They were installed last end of July. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. I wish it was adjustable, like the circle for the burner where the gas comes out. I wish they were able to do some smaller and some bigger, depending on what pot size I had.

Our cabinet maker thought that Viking was a good product and I bought my Viking appliances though him. I went to a mobile Viking showroom event and looked at all the Viking appliances for a new home. And if I did my whole kitchen in Viking, they would double the warranty. Instead of having the three-year warranty, it came with a six-year warranty. It was a great deal especially considering that Ive had to have them come out repeatedly to fix things that’s been wrong with the appliances. Apparently, the quality of Viking has gone down considerably in the last several years and I hadnt realized that. Ive got two refrigerators and the parts are just cheaply made. One of them was delivered totally damaged. The shelving does not stay in place. The drawers don’t function properly and the components bend too easily. The refrigerators are less than two years old and half of the parts in each one of them are bent, have totally fallen out or had to be replaced several times already. It’s very poor quality. When they installed the dishwasher, they didn’t put the bottom plate on the dishwasher correctly. Some of the parts have fallen out of it as well. They’ve also had to come out several times and fix the valves in the dishwasher. But the worst is the range, which has never functioned properly. It’s terrible considering I now have $40,000 worth of useless appliances in my home. The person that I contacted to get warranty service was extremely helpful and walked me through the process of getting everything registered. The problem was that they did not want to honor the double warranty on my appliances. Luckily, I had saved the original invoice and was able to forward it to them so that they could put into my record that it was covered for six years. Ive told everybody that Ive come in contact with to stay away from Viking, which is sad because my husband is a home builder. We could sell tons of Viking appliances. But we buy all of the appliances for the homes that we build from Ferguson here in Raleigh and they have quit carrying the Viking appliances because they have so many problems with them. Plus I will never have another thing that’s Viking in my home. It’s terrible. We’ve had problems with everything Viking.

In the later part of September 2016 we purchased a Viking Range model # VGIC 53014bss with high expectations only to find problem after problem with this range, as a matter of fact its a laundry list of problems and too many to mention. I could write a book in less time, its just not believable!!! My theory is and its verifiable that some of the more important components (parts) they install are sourced from China, Mexico etc. They are not manufactured in the U.S. or Europe and this is where the PROBLEM lies. This might not be politically correct but its a matter of fact, if you use inferior parts you should expect problems, and the words (made in the U.S.) becomes ambiguous, it should state assembled in the U.S. Its like buying a Cadillac only to find it has a Japanese motor. Buy cheap you get cheapNow onto the Viking customer care reps, these poor people are subjected to more abuse from disgruntled customers and their complaints, its as if they were part of the manufacturing process, I personally have had only good if not excellent experience with them! They can only do so much and have no options other than to say theyre sorry when problems arise, the executives are solely to blame (Accountability). It seems they must be distant from the overall process i.e. quality control, part supply, etc, etc, in actuality they should be embarrassed. Why should any Viking customer have to wait weeks or even months for service due to a lack of part availability? This also reflects on the service people and their small companys service job becomes protracted and customers like myself get disgusted.Ive recently dissuaded two of my friends from making a Viking Range purchase and not for any reason other than reliability, I am not going to be embarrassed. I just say dont judge book by its cover (oh but its beautiful). I agree but it does NOT live up to its name, its so sad especially when you spend big $$$s and thats for low end of the Viking range line. In summary and again I will not recommend Viking, hence to be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!

We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

My husband is a builder, and he always thought that Viking Ranges are more expensive than others. But the lady at Best Buy called and said they have this floor model line. We were getting a new range, and I love to cook, so I was like, Sure. However, for three weeks I didn’t have a range and it was a big mess. There seems to be a big disconnect on the Best Buy part of Viking. In summary, don’t buy a Viking from Best Buy. It started last September 22nd and it was awful at first. Best Buy would not get someone out here. They didn’t even know they sold us an LP. Apparently Viking misstated it. Best Buy couldn’t say why it didn’t work and then when they figured it out, the sales girl said they were getting someone because they kept telling me its really hard to get a Viking tech. It was out for two weeks. I also had a Best Buy warranty and they told me that it covers Viking. I called the Geek Squad. The day they came, theyre like, We don’t service Viking ranges and I still don’t have a clear answer on that. The manager was supposed to get me whether or not the Best Buy warranty covers Viking and they still don’t have an answer yet. Once the manager got involved, he saw how I upset I was. At first were going to convert the range but they couldnt. The techs involvement helped. He said, Its either buy a Viking LP or gas or you have to take the whole oven apart to convert it.” That ended up being a no-go. That weekend, he got me a loaner and that’s when they said, “Were just going to get you a new range.” Ive been using it and I love it. The front right burner is boils water fast. My least favorite feature though is it doesn’t go real low even on simmer. It still boils. The low setting is not like I put it on and let it go without worrying that its going to burn, which is weird. When the oven stops working that day, Im like. Its coming up to Thanksgiving. What if it stops working? But a girl called me and she must have set up a tech because I got a call from someone and theyre coming.

All the features are fine but it takes a long time before Viking sends out the parts.

The dealer had to order everything and it took several weeks but the installation of the range went well. However, the installers demanded to be paid upfront. When you schedule the installation service, you had to pay for that at the time even though you may have been a couple weeks out. That was the only thing that was kind of sketchy but it worked out. The range is a beautiful unit and it works well. Were happy with it. I like the induction heating too.

We purchased a VCRB536 Refridgerator and separate matching freezer for a kitchen remodel. Our Subzero 532 was operating perfectly although it was over 20 years old. The Viking door hinge spring broke, maybe $ 1000 to replace a $ 10 spring. Warranty coverage was denied. Now, the door bins are falling apart. Nothing heavy in them, but the ALL METAL door bins have plastic end caps that are cracking. Now I need to be careful the door doesnt fall off, but also watch the bins and contents falling when I open the door. Im very disappointing in this product and lack of support.

I had a Viking Range that I bought 25 years ago. I finally used it up and got a new one. I like the way the lights in the new one work a little better and the simmer setting. And I like that the burner pans are sealed. With my previous unit, there was a drip tray underneath that we had to keep cleaning all the time. The improvements are nice. I use my stove like a restaurant does and it has never broken down. Also, mine runs on propane and they lasted over 20 years. I dont know another brand that can do that.

We initially looked at different models and ended up getting a better deal with Viking. Everything we bought came in with the package, which was nice. The dealer tried to work with us to get the best deal. The conventional oven in the gas top works great as well as the broiler, but unfortunately, the convection part of the oven doesnt work so weve had to put in a service call for it. Its a little disappointing since its brand new and thats an issue. Additionally, since that supplier is out of state, we took a couple of days to find out who could supply the Viking range. I had to call them back and then they gave me the name of the supplier, then the supplier took a day or two just to have them call me back. Luckily it was close to the area that we were, but the rep was getting calls from people from New York and other states so not too many people service them. Overall my Viking range looks great and I had great interactions with the people, but theyre lacking in servicing.

I bought my Viking microwave (which is really made by Sharp) in August of 2013 and have already had to have the door switch replaced 3 times. It is only Nov. 4th, 2013! Guess what, today the microwave quit working for the 4th time. The same thing happens as the last 3 times. I can reset the breaker and as soon as I open the microwave door, the breaker trips again. So, I have learned to put the food in the microwave, flip the breaker and heat my food. As soon as I open the door to take out my food the breaker trips again. This has to be some kind of joke. I paid a hefty price tag for my Viking appliances and have only had a working microwave for just over half of the time Ive owned it. It always takes at least 10 days for parts to come and then 2 days to schedule a repair man. So, for a total of 35 days or so since mid-August until now, I havent had a working microwave. Now my Viking stove has an issue after just a few months. The center burner constantly tries to light. The burner is on with a flame, but the ignitor is constantly clicking and sparking, but thats another review.

The electronic control panel on our Viking Wall Oven began to blink when we tried to turn it on. The oven is five years old and seldomly used. We did the usual troubleshooting, then called Viking to have an authorized service rep come out. The service rep pulled the unit from the wall, unplugged it and gave us a quote for $4300 for the repair! He says we need a new glass panel (even though it is obviously a circuit board behind the panel) and the part is slightly less expensive than purchasing a brand new oven! Unacceptable Viking!!!

We got everything Viking here in the house. My in-laws have them and they like them. The double oven’s unbeatable. The quality of the fridge is really good. The tolerances on everything are good. Its solid. I close the door and I feel its not cheap. However, the compressor went out and I was shocked Viking couldnt give me a new compressor for the Viking. I had to get a replacement refrigerator, which I got a little bit of a discount but at the same time, I shouldnt have to buy a brand new Viking after it wasnt that long. Im not too happy and I found out its a Panasonic condenser unit that goes into the Vikings. I like to think weve got years and years of dependability behind it, but when I hear it’s a Panasonic condenser unit, thats not too reassuring.

I built a new home about a year ago. I decided to stick my kitchen with what I thought was high quality appliances. I spent over $25000 on a Viking professional kitchen. Been having issues from day one. First, my 48 fridge freezes anything on the top self. After multiple service calls the tech admitted this was an unrepairable design defect. Today my fridge stopped cooling, nice for a $12k appliance. Also, the fridge door squeaks and is out of alignment just from ordinary use. Second, my oven broke the first time I used it. Took about a month to get it fixed, the first time. Couple of months later it broke again, took weeks to fix this time, same defect. Also, the oven has an annoying function that keeps a loud fan running in it to cool it down after each use, takes about 30 minutes each time. So imagine sitting in your open kitchen, serving a freshly baked dinner, then having to listen to something so loud that you feel you have to speak over it. Poor mechanical design and poor quality, wish I could return them.

We bought (it was 100% my husband who wanted this stove even though I cook ALL the time) a 36 6 burner Viking stove in November 2004. Within the first 2 years, a repair guy had to come in to fix the ANNOYING click-click-click sound from the burners. Then a year later, came back to fix the click-click-click sound (and taught me what to do to try and fix it myself) as well as the broiler which broke. It is now mid 2011 and I have had no oven for over a month because about 6 months ago, the oven went and I refused to pay the $400 for the visit from a repairman just to tell me that I needed another part. I tricked the oven to work; first by putting the broiler on for like 10 minutes then carefully turning the knob to the temp I needed it by, then preheating it for like an hour along with an oven temp gauge thing. But now, the oven and broiler are no longer working. I have a service call into PSEG to come and fix it. I asked them if they service Viking and they said that they will. Well see. I also have the issue with the caked on grease on the burners that no matter what I do, will NOT come off!I HATE this stove.

Ive always heard good things about Viking. Several years ago, I heard bad things about them but I decided to give them a chance because they are out of Greenwood and my niece lives there. I chose Viking because it did have a good reputation. Plus, they offered the free dishwasher to come with the range. Building a home, that was an incentive for us. I absolutely love the quality of the range. We lived in military housing for so long and we had an electric stove and all my pots would hit each other. I couldnt wait to get a gas range. My brother said to get a 36-inch and Im so glad that I did because my pots can breathe. They dont touch each other. I love the roominess. Weve used it for about two weeks now and weve been very pleased. They have set off our alarms but thats because we didnt put the hood on. Other than that, it heats up immediately and it puts out just the right amount of heat. I love that it cooks my potato quickly. Its also easy to clean. I do have a sponge that I use to make sure it doesnt scratch because when I inquired one time, you have to be careful not to use something that would be abrasive to scratch it. I like the grates. Theyre very heavy-duty. I do like the knobs too. They are big and easy to turn. I thought it would be cute if they came in different colors but when I called in, they said theres another competitor that is known for certain colors. Ive noticed that the back cooks faster than the front but it performs beautifully. It looks like theyve improved from what had happened a couple of years ago. Theyre trying to get their name back.

I had Sub-Zero for years, and it was leaking and leaking. We had it fixed a million times before we changed. We also needed a built-in and we wanted a bottom freezer so we went with the Viking. I like the lighting. Also, the ice maker works well and the ice is clear. However, Im not happy with the door. It closes but when you open it, it slams open. Its not balanced. Viking installed it improperly so we had to change the doors. When the doors came, they were all scratched. We had to get a brand-new Viking fridge and there were all these scratches on the doors, which was unacceptable. But they brought new doors and they just didnt balance them.I filled out a form, I registered online, and Viking Refrigerators called me a local company and weve been playing phone tag. I want them to send somebody to fix the door but it hasnt happened. Ive been waiting for a month for that. Also, the drawers are poorly designed. Theyre flimsy and not elegant. Theyre not as sturdy for a $10,000 refrigerator that should be better quality.

Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasn’t too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I don’t think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and we’ve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasn’t super-fast, but we’re easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. It’s inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just can’t get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that we’ve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didn’t cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.

We bought top of the line Viking Refrigerator & all other Viking kitchen appliances about 6 years ago from Airport Appliances with 10 year extended warranty for additional $2K Associated Service Corp. Warranty. First year, the ice maker does not work properly & froze in the door which we couldnt use any more. Then, the water line busted & flooded/damaged our house which we had to file insurance claim. Now, it stopped working & was blowing hot air. We contacted Jags Appliance Repair 510-494-9574 who charged us $135 service call & said that compressor, serpentine, heat exchanger, evaporator needs new which will costs another $1700 for repairs (parts covered), not to mention the spoiled food. I called Airport Appliances 510-783-3494 that they cant do anything & that we should contact Associated Service Warranty that we purchased from them for $2K. I called Associated Service Corp Warranty 800-325-4363. They said they only cover up to $160 only, but the service agreement states otherwise that labor is included... I contacted Viking Bay Area Regional Manager/Sue ** who said that Viking parts are covered & can pay only $350 towards the repair, or buy another Viking refrigerator half price. (No thanks to purchasing another Viking products & never recommend this expensive piece of metal that doesnt work.) I forgot to mention that bottom metal piece is rusting too!

I am a general contractor and custom home builder and also own a remodeling company. We are in the building business and one of our primary vendor reps here in North Carolina is Appliance World. We do quite a bit of business with them and the relationship from them and getting to know them is how we heard about Viking. We have a client that goes through the design process and they are assisted by Appliance World with the selection of their appliances. We work with them four days a week with our clients visiting their location. Theyve obviously stood behind Viking and have a showroom and merchandising set up. Recently they downsized their showroom and kept the Viking line pretty prominent with still having 10 or 15 other lines. We bought about $20,000 worth from Viking the last couple of months and so far, so good. The registration online is great. From a consumer standpoint, some of the information can be hard to extrapolate from the website. For selling $8,000 to $40,000 refrigerators, there could be some better photos and better highlights of what makes the company different. That market has become quite crowded and most folks have some brand loyalty, whether its Sub-zero or Dacor or some of the others. Viking could do a better job of letting the consumer know via the website what those features and benefits are and where variance is between them and the next guy.

Ive always heard Viking was the best and Im happy with my Viking fridge. But Ive had to have it serviced a few times already. The fans inside keep freezing up. Ive had to have all the warranty work done twice already and I don’t even think Ive been in this house three years yet. The first time they came out, they had to replace the fans and the second time, all of them were frozen up. But the tech was able to service the fans and got it working again. Im also happy with the customer service that the guy that I bought the appliances from is giving me. He puts me right on top of the list, takes care of me and keeps me up and running again. It is a little bit of a disappointment. I paid almost $18,000 but the guys from Certified Appliance were good.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price points.

I ordered the Viking over the phone with someone. I had to wait for the hood and the dishwasher for quite a while, but it was okay because we were waiting on other stuff for the kitchen remodel. I like the style of Viking Ranges and nobody else makes red in that kind of an industrial feel. Its quality also has been great so far. I like all that all the burners are the same size and its iron top is simple. It was pretty good and I’m glad that they just left it to me to install. However, the dishwasher that I’d gotten originally from them has no damage on the outside but was all dented on the inside, so I don’t understand how that could have happened and I didn’t realize this until I went to put it in after having it for 20 days after they delivered it. Then at the beginning of March, it stopped working. The pump that takes the water out just continually would run and it would never start another program. Viking replaced it for me because they couldn’t find a service person in my area. But they wouldn’t just send it to me to put in, so I had to deal with letting an installer put it in. The installer did not do a great job so right now, I have to go back and level it. Now I have to find some additional insulation because they took that with them and they didn’t put all the insulation in the front so it’s louder now. They also didn’t put one of the screw covers on and it’s a stainless steel screw on a black background so now the black tic-toe panel on the bottom has one screw that’s glaring. I gotta fix those things and I’ll paint the screw. I wish they would have just sent it to me and let me put it in, but they insisted on it. In terms of the way they handled the situation, I thought I was dealing with someone who wasnt able to make any decisions. It took them from the beginning of March until they put it in on Thursday to get a working dishwasher. But I would still endorse my friends in getting Viking because I think that’s not necessarily a manufacturing problem.

There was a Viking Range in the house that we just bought. It exhausted and we bought another Viking Range to replace it and its excellent. It did exactly what it advertises it does and you know its well. It looks good in our kitchen and it works. We have three young kids so for us whats important is the functionality and having no issues. As long as the burners go on and we could cook things and use the oven like we do every day, and as long as its high functioning thats great for us.However, Snyder Diamond did not do a good job of communicating with us. They quoted us a certain time frame where the range would be ready but it wasnt ready then. They had the company that they recommended install the range go pick it up at the factory wherever they were holding the stoves and it wasnt there yet. They miscommunicated so it took longer than it should have and it was Snyder Diamonds fault, not the people who installed it. I thought they quoted me in when it will be installed by and then that was pushed by a weekend into the next week. Also, it was hard to get them on the phone or going through that process. I had an email back and forth with the guy from Snyder Diamond cause I was like, Can you give me a call? and he just wouldnt respond. And then I had to literally track him down. We needed the range and Ive never been frustrated and I dont understand why I cant get a callback about this. We were then about to spend $8,000 or $10,000 on this range and I deserved a callback in a timely way.It was top of the time because my wife was pregnant. We needed a stove for heating milk and everyday things, like for breakfast, and every day that passed was getting tenser for us. Its unfortunate for me that theyre the closest distributor of all these parts or products thats in my house now because Im trapped when it comes to dealing with them. On the other hand, the installers were excellent and they had their stuff together. They called me and they got to the bottom of it. They were problem solvers and Snyder Diamond was not.

My first Viking range got damaged in shipping. The frame got bent and they had to put a new plate at the bottom. The door was warped too and it wouldnt close. Viking wanted a second opinion and the tech came out and confirmed that the range was damaged. Viking then sent a new one in which came within a week. However, the second was damaged too and the kickpipe at the bottom was bent. So, they put a new one. Thus far, I love the burners. On our old range, only one of the burners got hot. The other wouldnt boil water so I love the fact that both of my burners this time around are both really high-powered. Customer service at Viking has been good too. When they put the first range in, the top was scratched. When they put the second one in, it was scratched too and theyre replacing the top of the range currently. I figured that when their crew slides the range in, their guys belt buckle would scratch the top of the range because the scratches are in the same spot. Still, Viking took care of everything and I love my oven. Id definitely get a Viking again.

We bought this unit in 2005 for a new kitchen with all new appliances. My problems with this unit are numerous and varied. At first we noticed that the interior plastic parts, such as drawers broke easily. These are very expensive and there is a real gap between the cost and the apparent value of the parts. Next, mechanical and electrical parts began to break down. We needed a small fan, available online for $8 and that took all of 10 minutes to replace, that cost several hundred dollars. We have had sensors go bad for similar costs to repair, and now the freezer wont get cold enough to allow the ice maker to produce ice. I would never buy from Viking again. Their products are flimsy and delicate despite the high price. I am willing to pay more for quality, but I didnt get that quality at Viking.

We had an oven fire over Christmas, and so we bought a new one from Viking. The oven fit and I had a hood already that was Viking, so it was just as simple as replacing what was there. I needed an oven fast, so I went online and found whoever was closest to me, who could bring it in and who had a good deal going on. I got it through Appliance Connection. I spoke to somebody about which one to get and they sorted it out. It was okay. But the installers were a little half-assed. Even so, the quality of the oven is good and solid. There was nothing wrong with it except one of the igniters wasnt working, but I fixed that myself. And there were a few loose parts on it when it came that needed to be sorted out. But Ive had one in the past, and its fine. Its better than most.

When we bought the house, the owner bought all Viking appliances but have never used it. When we came here in the house, everything was brand new. We have the Viking refrigerator for three years now and it is a good quality appliance. But I was surprised that within those years, there was some water leaking from the freezer and then the refrigerator was broken. But the Viking team was very helpful and someone came here and fixed it. My overall experience has not been very good, not with the Viking range itself, but with the servicing and the people that I had to deal with. The door does not close all the way, so the light has been on for almost a year. This is pre-COVID and I’ve had so much trouble trying to get a service call. I was bounced between that it’s still under warranty and then it’s not under warranty even though I bought a service contract. Also, I kept getting passed between the service contract people and the corporate people, so I kinda gave up. The light is finally going out, but my point was that because the door doesn’t shut all the way, I don’t know that it’s properly heating the interior without the heat escaping. I’m sure it takes a screwdriver and a small adjustment and I would’ve been happy.

We have a Viking refrigerator and have had the repair person out several times to repair the many problems. I tried to get another repair person out here but they tell me I am in his area and no one else is to repair my refrigerator. This repair persons experience is a 1 from 1 to 10. I stopped calling him and started to repair the refrigerator myself and I have no training at all. I have replaced the strip across the top. I have replaced one of the thermistors and now I need to replace the other one. I have replaced the freezer fan, the refrigerator fan. The alarm is starting to go off at different times day and night. I have had water drain all over our wooden floor several times and its starting to show water stains now. I have had to take everything out of the Viking and put it in the GE in the garage. So, I can unplug the ice in the defroster outlet in the freezer. We have had several problems with our microwave, now the numbers will not show up and the part cost $210 dollars. I have put up with this problem for several months. It takes the oven a long time to heat up. I have spent several thousands of dollars on Viking products and what a bunch of ** their products are. The repair person that did come out said the Viking products keep him busy. He told me that he has less trouble with the GE Monogram and he thinks they are the best. Im about ready to take this refrigerator to the dump and get a GE.

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

I have called and spoken with them numerous times and I have sent emails too, and they were knowledgeable enough to help me with what I needed. Im waiting for the parts but a week has passed and they told me that the parts department is not shipping anything until the middle of the month. The quality control and the packaging could have been better before the units leave the factory line. Also, it seemed that a lot of the damages were the result of transporting the product.

However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. I’ve known about Viking for a while and I love their appliances. I went to a kitchen showroom in Concord and Viking had all the requirements that I wanted for my range. The burners today have different gas ranges on them and it drives me crazy. Theres a range for simmering, another one for boiling and then one for regular cooking. Viking is one of the very few appliance makers that has a range top that every burner has the same BTU capacity so I can cook on any burner I want. Also, Im only 54 and when I have a regular door on the top, I have to reach in. I had a double oven before and I burnt my arms a couple of times trying to reach in and get the stuff out. Viking has this double oven that I can open with one hand and both doors open. I was going for the complete functionality and that is why I chose Viking. My refrigerator is working well and keeps my Cokes cold. I like it. But I had to call Viking for a service because the icemaker wasnt working. It would turn on but it wouldnt make ice. The plug in the back for the condenser wasnt plugged in all the way. When it was installed, nobody caught it because it looked like it was plugged in and its not something I would see until I took the back off. The techs said it might have wiggled off a little during transit. There was also a spring that was not quite right on the freezer door but the techs came and fixed the issues. They are also changing a rheostat, a component in the hood, cause the light flickers and they have that on order. All in all, the Viking team is very professional and the techs were attentive and did a good job.

3 years ago my stove top exploded (a sealed burner unit) in my nannys face; singed her hair and eyebrows. Luckily the pot of boiling water did not go up in the air (the gas tubes held one side of the stove top in place). After repeated calls to the dealer, distributor and CEOs office I was told that since the unit was 2 months out of warranty it was not their problem. Amazing. Now I have 2 30 ovens that are about 7 y/o and they beep all day and night. However, they dont make (or repair) the electronics panel parts anymore. So again out of luck and need to pay $6,000 for the ovens to be replaced.Today I get the call that my $8,000 wine cooler, about 5 years old, needs new evaporators and it is $3 to 4,000 to repair. I needed a new oven after 31 years. I started doing research and going to different places. I had certain requirements like Ive got animals and I wanted induction. I also wanted front knobs and dials. I didnt want all the push button stuff. I also needed a free-standing unit. Through my process of elimination, I was deciding between a KitchenAid and a Viking because theres no Miele here in east of London. The KitchenAid didnt work because I didnt like the way the controls were positioned on the surface of the unit. Then I was at the appliance shop and I started looking around at the different models. I saw the Thermador then I found that they only do gas. Then I looked at the Viking and it looked like a beautiful piece of equipment. I loved the fact that its 100% stainless on the side. Its not piecemealed with a black metal and just a front view of stainless. I love the front dials. Theyre very professionally done. I like the flat surface and the design of it. Theyve got squares and circles inside not these curves and arrows that go all across like a contemporary artwork piece. Moreover, its an exceptional oven and has a great induction. I love it. It cooks well and faster. It also heats up my water wonderfully because Im doing a pitcher of tea every two days. I dont have to wait six minutes anymore to boil my five cups of water. I also like that as soon as I open the door, the light goes on. I dont have to sit there and press the light then open the door kind of thing. I like the fact that its got three trays, two slide and one regular. I like the slide trays. Ive only used my oven about a dozen times and so far, so good. However, theres no timer and when I pointed it out to them they said its because its a Brigade Professional. But its not a major deal because I have a little timer right by the stove. So thats my unit and its the best range. I bought it at the appliance shop and dealt with one of the owners. He was very professional. I tend to do more research than the average customer and therefore I tend to have more questions. I try and dot my Is and cross my Ts and he took the time with me. I wouldnt hesitate to go back when I need a second appliance. This range is very expensive and I cant afford to make a mistake on an appliance because its not something that I can take back and say its not working and I need to get another one. I have a good warranty from Brigade for three years. I also bought the maximum extended warranty of three years so Im hoping I never have to call on a warranty issue. Im hoping this thing lasts me 20 years. But the fact that the warranty is three years and not a year has to say something, too, because everything else has a warranty for one or two years. And I know Viking was going down to two but Im glad I got the three.

Bought the built in refrigerator and freezer. Freezer ice maker kept failing. Had five different people come look at it. No one fixed it each time. I would call back and they would not have any records of the repairs. The freezer door wont close completely leaving ice build up on the inside. Their solution is to push at the top of the door. The hinge is leaning. Their solution... There is no fix, we cant make that hinge any longer. The refridge is freezing things so had another company come out. They said needed some new compressor. Took everything apart (six months later after they got the parts) and turns out the leak is in the wall of the unit, so it is not repairable. Have to pay 3000 to get a new unit. The refrigerator was not working for over two weeks (totally dead - no cooling in the freezer and the main refrigerator compartment) while Viking and its local repair service went back and forth on resolving the subject. It was quickly apparent that Viking keeps an arms length distance from such issues. Also apparent is that the local repair does not keep Viking parts in their inventory for repair purposes. Repairman said the refrigerator was shipped from the factory with improper soldering of tubes. After several visits and re-soldering of tubes, the refrigerator again worked. However the repairman said if unit stops working again that is could no longer be repaired - in other words, a dead inoperable appliance. Top dollar was paid for an appliance which at the end of the day was of shoddy quality, and not properly addressed by Viking under its own warranty. Inexcusable.

I’ve called Viking Range several times for various questions since we bought a house with a Viking built in refrigerator. Unfortunately, the previous owner did not leave any of the user manuals behind and unable to locate the model & serial numbers. Hope from customer service and Stuart from the service side were a huge help. I was able to find out when my refrigerator was made and some of other mechanical information I needed. Our refrigerator is just over 20 years old and beautiful. Love the simplicity and clean lines. I would never have gotten this type of support from any of the mainstream appliance companies which I have tried in the past with other kitchen appliances that I have owned.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

Were purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. Weve always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. Weve had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since its under warranty but its a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So theres a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasnt installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didnt go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We dont know if we would do it again.

I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

My daughter got a KitchenAid but I don’t like it at all because when you close one door, the other one doesn’t close all the way or it stays open or you have to open both of them. Every time I go over to my daughter, I try to clean her refrigerator and five minutes later, the fingerprints are right there back again. It just really annoys me. Im kind of a brand name person and Viking means something that’s classy. I like the look and style of it. I like the weight and the handles were strong. All my appliances are very personal and I have to like the way they feel.Everything has been good with my fridge but I havent quite figured out how to work the panel on the door as far as changing the temperature and I havent really investigated it as far as the manual goes. But it stays cold. I like that it doesn’t show a lot of fingerprints.I do use a cleaner on it, but it stays on it. It keeps the fridge looking good for quite awhile. When we ordered it, it had the other grill on the bottom of it but when they delivered it it had the solid tray on the bottom. I think it was new change but I like it. Also I do like the separate compartments in the freezer. Theres a couple of shallow ones and the bigger one on the bottom.I love my Viking refrigerator. I would get another one. Some people think youre going to get Viking just because of the name but I did try to have an open mind when I went to purchase my refrigerator and checked out another one. Maybe I did buy it because it says Viking on it. Im going to have the fridge for a long time, so I might as well get the one I like.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didnt take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldnt light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. Wed call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. Were generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

We want to have high end appliances and our refrigerator choice were between Viking and Wolf. But we felt Viking was more professional grade, so we went with it. Its overall quality was good, but the door was not aligned when they were delivered. So we had to follow up, and they brought a technician through the dealer to readjust the door. I was disappointed about that and I was not 100% satisfied. But in terms of the condition, its working fine, so Im good. So far, my experience with them was satisfactory and their product looks dependable.

I tried one whole week to make that dishwasher work but finally called for support. I got an service appointment 5 days later and they found out that the brand new dishwasher pump is not working. We order the parts. The installer company told me it is on back-order for 10 days. After 6 days and no news I informed viking and then the drama starts. Now I am still waiting for an exchange or part to fix my washer. There is no communication. The Veronica ** rep forward my case to a manager who has still not contact me. I have no answer since 3 weeks now and a broken new machine. This is the worst and rudest customer service I ever experienced for buying their expensive products. I cannot recommend that company at all.

The reason why I purchased the six pieces is because it all says Viking professional, but when those six pieces were delivered, one of them doesn’t say Viking professional, which is different than what I saw on the website. Its not something that Id expect because I especially selected the model that says professional. Nevertheless the Viking range is of high quality. I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

We wanted a built-in refrigerator and something that would be good quality. We were gonna go with Jenn-Air but we heard that the compressors on the Vikings were better. We were also looking at Sub-Zero but we heard that there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done every year for their compressors. The people that we talked to said that Viking didn’t have that sort of maintenance requirement and we heard that Viking was really good. So, we went with them. We were also looking for something that was fairly wide and the one that we got from Viking was a pretty big unit. We have it for a while now and our experience has been good. Its quality is okay although some things get really frozen at the top of the refrigerator. There was also a squeak in the door, and people came out and fixed it. After that, we havent heard as much squeaking as before and the refrigerator has been doing all right.

We had a house built and installed all new Viking D3 appliances. We have had problems with every single one of them. We moved in in May 2013 and as of December, we have had the Viking repairman to our house at least 4 times. Who has time for that? Every time has been for the refrigerator and at least one other appliance. Every time we have had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food. As I write this review a few days before Christmas, the refrigerator randomly decided to stop working. Convenient now that I have a turkey and all of the other items to make Christmas dinner. I am so frustrated with this brand. After you spend the amount of money these appliances cost, you expect them to work. The authorized repair reps are idiots. Our repairman actually once told me that the refrigerator was leaking water all over the floor because we put leftovers in the refrigerator and bacteria crawled into the drain line and clogged it up. Um... what???!!! The refrigerator leaked on two different occasions and warped our wood floor. The repairman moved the refrigerator and scratched our wood floor. The oven took hours to cook anything - even a simple meatloaf. The shelves slid out once the door was open. The temperature fluctuated +/- 15 degrees. He told us that was normal or the food would burn. No. Just no. The burners on the gas range only light halfway around. The vent just stopped working. The dishwasher leaves dishes wet. I would never recommend these products to anyone. I wish I would have read these reviews first. I hope anyone that reads this decides against Viking. They are pretty, but they cost too much to have this many problems.

It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. We’ve only lived in this house for a month. Viking’s customer service has been okay but they are in Mississippi and it is another one of these 30-minute phone calls. The service people are actually not Viking employees. They are a contracted company and they have been very good. They diagnosed it the first time, had to order a part, put it in and it is still doing it, so they are coming back today to see if they can fix it. I got the impression from the service people that there was a known problem with this fridge because when they called, they said that their tech support people knew what it was right off the bat. So Viking might have a problem they need to fix. Viking is suboptimal.

My wife went to a showroom and saw a Viking refrigerator and liked it. We got our Viking a year ago and I like the shelving. However, our experience with the team at the actual Viking dealer wasn’t great. They didn’t do a good installation, so we had to have a different team back out to re-install it. Also, when I made my warranty claim, I found out that the unit had not been registered with Viking. But when I went back on the invoice, I saw that I had paid a $4.00 fee for them to register it. I probably wouldn’t buy from this place again, although it’s not Viking’s fault but the dealer’s.I have a warranty claim that Viking is working on because when the power is interrupted, the refrigerator sometimes doesn’t come back on automatically. If they can get that fixed, then it’s a good piece of equipment. If that can’t get fixed or if that’s a design defect in the equipment, then I’m not going to be really happy about it. Nevertheless, I was really impressed with the way Viking handled the warranty claim. It turned out that I called them a day or two after the one-year anniversary of the purchase date, yet they were very nice about it and they said it wasn’t going to be a problem. He could have said that I was one day outside of my one-year warranty period, so they were not going to do it, but they didn’t say that.

We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. You can put four pots and pans, big ones at a time, and have enough space to cook without having to move anything. Also, the lady who helped us at the dealer was super nice. Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. We wanted a commercial range. We looked at Thermadors but we liked the way Viking Range looked and the price was okay. Viking had a tough track record but we understand they were bought out by another corporation and they supposedly turned things around. The team at the dealer wasn’t great when we went to buy the range. They handle a lot of different lines. They were very nice but not extremely knowledgeable. I would think anybody who represents the commercial people like that would be very well trained. They provided all the information I needed as I asked it, but most of the time, they had to look it up. I think this particular dealer was more into GE, LG and the lower-end or middle-end stuff. They werent impressive by any means. Also, once you pay for them, you would almost think that when they install them, they would run through a tutorial. But the delivery was okay.We like it a lot and have cooked and maked tea on it. Yesterday, we just baked with it and it was making a few popping noises. Were not accustomed to a gas oven and hopefully, its a learning curve but Im assuming that was some of the stuff burning off because its new. Thats a question I have for the technician whos coming to look at the knobs in the front that are rubbing when I turn them and the front kick plate on the bottom that is crooked. But we like that were being able to control the heat on the burners and its appearance as well. It looks very commercial, industrial and it’s well designed. Right now, we’re satisfied.

The Viking refrigerator size fits really well into the already pre-sized area for a refrigerator in the house I purchased and the range was packaged with it. And Ive cooked on the ranges before and they were good so I decided to buy one. But when I got it, it was broken and it took them about a month to repair it. The problem was the two of the valves werent working. So if I had the gas on on the stove, it was constantly leaking gas so we had to keep the gas off all the time.Vikings preferred vendor that they hooked up with me was just a nightmare. So everything just took a long time. Like the parts took a long time to come in so they took a long time to come. But they were able to have it fixed last week. It took them a week to come out and look at it, and then it took them almost two weeks for the part to come in. And then it took them another week to come and actually fix it.But The customer service woman I spoke to was really nice. Shed provided me with tracking update and would call the company. I think its just a matter of them getting a more reliable, certified Viking repair specialist because when you have to rely on one place, locally that doesnt seem to make your priority, that can get a little frustrating. But other than that, Viking themselves seemed to be pretty good in terms of their customer service, like being responsive to me. But if you spend almost $6,000 on a stove, it should probably come to your house working. And then your customer service is only as good as the people you have working with you, and partnering with you and I didnt think it was wonderful.
