Weâve had Viking equipment in previous homes then we bought from them again and got a Viking refrigerator. Its good quality and it works. Itâs doing very well and also looks good in the kitchen. The Viking dealer we got it from was very cordial and very easy to deal with. I would tell others to take a good look at Viking Refrigerators.
Side by Side 29x79 Professional Viking Fridge and Freezer - Top of the line price and look. Worked well for three years and has been downhill since. Ice maker broke in freezer. Drawers split and fell out in fridge. All fixable until the seal started to tear on the door which as you would imagine, if not working properly it doesnt hold in cold air and temp rises. We ordered not one, or two but three times, went back and forth with Viking and three different appliance repair guys. Final analysis is that Viking no longer makes same seal and the replacement seal DOESNT FIT! IT DOESNT WORK! We have pulled our hair out trying to find someone whose fridge maybe blew up or fell out of the back of a truck just to nab the $100 seal from original fridge and have it snapped in 10 minutes. It is a CRIME that a manufacturer makes a 10K unit and then cant provide basic replacement parts and therefore deems the product obsolete.
I like to cook and nothing is better than a Viking range. It looks great, professional and it heats up super fast. I also love that there is no electronics on it and the convection oven is awesome. On the other hand, the delivery was a bit of a snafu. I was supposed to get set up for install and delivery. They came and they said they were only there for delivery. When I said no, the guy told me the price of the install and hauled away. I was not in town, so it didnt get installed and I had to reschedule. I also got the dishwasher with the range and the face on the top of the dishwasher got scratched. I called and called, and left a message to have the dealer fix it. The little flap where the detergent is put to soak off also needs to get fixed. Other than that, it all worked out because I got the awesome range which is quality.
I always knew about Viking from reputation. We purchased homes in the past and my brother is also a chef so hes used to the Viking products and higher end appliances. I was in San Francisco and our home builder had Viking as all of our appliances. I have my whole kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and the oven with the Viking line. The refrigerator is great and I like the look of the French double doors. Ive had the refrigerator for two months but its not working at its optimal level. The ice maker doesnt work. But it was a good experience when I called Viking about it. They were able to set me up with a local provider. However, the local provider just came out a week ago. And it had taken them almost two weeks to come out to fix it. And they still had to order a part and its gonna take a little bit longer so I had to go to Starbucks to get ice.
The quality of the Viking refrigerator is a little poor. Ive got a few issues with the fridge. We had someone come in. It looked like the door is not closing as it should. The alignment is off. So we are looking to call them back again. But otherwise, we are very satisfied with the fridge.
Weve had our Viking Range for a few months now and its been awesome. Both ovens work amazing. The griddle is good, its just that its a little difficult to clean at times. But then I can get everything I want out of a 48-inch range and its right in line with other pieces of equipment that are at the same cost.
We were looking for a counter depth refrigerator, and the Viking refrigerator was one of the few ones that we liked. It works really well and we like its design. It gets the food really cold. I like the lighting there and the construction of it. However, the dealer we bought it from was horrible. I bought from the dealer Viking appliances including a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and a microwave. When they first brought the refrigerator over, they didnât have a truck that has a ramp to take it off from the truck. What they ended up doing was they had to open up the fridge in the truck, had to lay it on its side, and slid it on the floor. They had three people struggling, carrying it into the house without its box. I was to the point of just livid. Fortunately, they didnât scratch anything because I was standing there right next to them making sure nothing happened. I could have picked a better dealer despite them giving me free installation.I have a printout of the fridge so that we know where to put the electrical outlet as well as the water outlet. But in the case of the range, there wasnât really a cutout. All we knew was that it has a 30-inch width so when it arrived, it couldnât fit into the wall because the gas outlet in the wall was right in the middle. We remodeled the entire kitchen and nobody explained it to me when I was in the showroom that we could have reconfigured everything to make sure that the appliances actually fit there. Also in the dishwasher, there was a piece at the bottom that keeps falling off. Its kinda weird and Iâm not sure what to do with it. However, the appliances were great, overall. Iâm very satisfied with the Viking brand. It looks great. I have people come by and everybodyâs awed by the overall look of it. Itâs just beautiful.
I liked the Viking refrigerators style and itâs a great product. When it had a little bit issue and was making noise, their technician came. They replaced the fan and it was taken care of.
Viking Refrigerator had the most cubic feet in all refrigerator units in 2006. I owned one since 2006 but there was a corrosion issue in it which caused some problems. The warranty honored most of the repairs and it had been fixed. Then I just put in a replacement for the 2006 model that I had. I have high expectations that this new one will be a little more durable. The interior lighting on the new one is great and the accuracy of the temperature seems to be very good. The only drawback is they are extremely expensive. They jumped in cost tremendously from the first time I bought it. But it would have cost even more to reset the space for a different model. So I went ahead and bought a second Viking. Other than that, Im happy with the performance of it. The length of the order time for the new refrigerator was really excessive. I ordered this new unit in October in hopes of getting it in before the holiday season cause I was having a big party where Id cook enough food for 100 people. But I didnt get it delivered to me until May. Apparently, Viking had to send it back to the factory a couple of different times because there were defects and it didnt make it through inspection.
I wanted the quality of the Viking stove so I went with them and Ive had it for six months now. I dealt with Renoâs Appliance, which carries the Viking stuff, and they were good about getting us the package deal. So, we got all Viking equipment, and that was good. I just had my stove serviced a couple days ago because something with the igniters were malfunctioning and the range top is not working. So, they had to do some work in here and it took a couple of weeks to get their tech out here.
We thought that there was an issue with the range. After speaking with several people, those individuals from customer service didnt know about the product and how it works. So, we had to have two specialists come out to look at it. The first one couldnt give us an answer, and the second one looked at it for about two minutes and said that the issue we were having was completely normal. It took us about a month to feel like we were using it safely before someone said that and we didnt expect people on the phone to know exactly what the product is. We havent used the range to its full potential as of yet but were happy with it.
I currently have a Viking Refrigerator that is still under warranty but paid full price to have it repaired. Viking will only cover repairs performed by their authorized center, and that repair company is NOT trustworthy. Ive had to repair both our Viking convection oven and refrigerator in the past 7 years, whereas Our old (much less expensive) GE appliances are still working perfectly after 20 years. I will not be purchasing any Viking products again. Shame on Viking.
Everyone knows about Viking. I had a Wolf stove before for many years and I loved it. When I went to look at the stoves, I thought the Viking was just as good, itâs just without the red knobs. Ive had the Viking range for a few months now and so far, I think its excellent. I like that it has very precise and really good temperature control. However, when I was dealing with their customer service, I had a little bit of difficulty. I was on hold for a very long time before I finally got through to someone. He promised me that if I came back with the right serial number, he would replace the parts free. I hang up and got the serial number. Then, I was on hold a very, very long time again. I got a different person who told me that what the first rep said isnt true and I wont get the replacement part for free. But in the end, they worked it out.
Our Viking Refrigerator is good overall. However, it is a floor model so weâve not been really happy with the folks trying to resolve the issue. The doors slammed and it took awhile for them to figure out why there was moisture inside the fridge. Weâve been a little less than satisfied with the service weâve gotten on it. We have called the retailer multiple times to come fix the issues but whenever they came out, they got the wrong part. They did not seem to be knowledgeable about the Viking brand. Weâve been happy with our refrigerator minus the couple of issues that we continue to struggle with.
We love the range! I had a Dacor range before but my Viking now is better. It is more expensive, but its a far superior range. I could have gotten a less expensive one but we went with them based on their reputation. Ive known about Viking Ranges and its a high-quality product. I got the basic one that had a self-cleaning. Then, I also bought a griddle, and I love it too.
Weve seen Viking Refrigerator all over model homes and we have friends that have it. With Vikings warranty longevity, as well as the amount of time theyve been in the industry compared to the other ones we were considering, we chose to go with them. The refrigeration is good quality and we like it. Everythings been great.
I am not too happy that I have had quite a few issues with both the refrigerator and the freezer in the past three years. This includes replacing a brand new refrigerator. There have been too many temperature problems along with internal parts, drawers and shelves breaking.
I love to cook and Iâve always been impressed with the stuff from Viking. Ive always wanted a range from them. Some of the other brands dont meet my expectations. I got a Viking range lately and Ive had a bit of an issue with the burners. Iâm out in the boonies so itâs on propane. But then, I donât think the burners on the range burn evenly as I can get a higher flame on one side. Nevertheless, I love the six burners and the way the range looks. Its a convection oven also and overall its been performing well.
Beware of purchasing Viking Appliances!!! We purchased a Viking Range, double oven and beverage from Macon Appliance Store in Franklin, NC and spent almost $18,000 only to find out that Viking only carries a 2 year warranty. We had Blossom Gas come out to inspect our gas and they discovered there was a leak coming from the gas range. We contacted Macon Appliance and a repairman contacted us and set up a service call. It was discovered that the gas range had a gas leak and parts were ordered. On 10/31/19 the serviceman returned with the parts to repair our gas range. It was at this time that he informed us that we owed $670.00 because the 2 yr warranty had expired. Needless to say I was livid as what company sells such expensive appliances with a 2 yr warranty. The appliances were delivered in Aug 2017 but our home was not completed until the later part of September. I have also read other reviews from customers that had the same problem with a gas leak so this is obviously a problem with Viking gas ranges yet your company wants to gauge customers that are paying high prices for these appliances with a warranty that is worth nothing. Even Loweâs, Home Depot and other companies offer a 5 yr warranty and much better service. I will NEVER purchase another Viking appliance again and will ensure that I let people know about the terrible quality of service that Viking provides. It is a shame that a company like yours takes people for their money. I contacted your customer service to report this only to speak with a representative that was rude. I asked her to have a supervisor contact me and I never received a callback. I am also contacting the BBB to report this matter!
My Viking fridge is of high quality, and I like the bottom being the freezer that pops out.
The refrigerator is four years old and one evaporator in the unit leaked so it froze the whole bottom of the refrigerator. Viking covered the part, which I appreciated. But, I had to pay for the labor. I have heard that that had been an issue with some of their units, but they have also improved their warranty since I purchased. So I was thinking, if the parts had not been covered, I probably would have bought another one --and I would have gone with another Viking-- because I am looking at 3,000 versus maybe 7,000. Right now, I have a year on the parts. The appliance repair people I dealt with were pleasant and courteous. They made sure whether or not there was a warranty on the parts. They were timely to come out, they came back out quickly, and did the job that I thought was an excellent repair. When I pulled on the one bottom drawer, because I did not realize the bottom was frozen at that time, I broke the handle. So, they ordered a replacement part for me, which I picked up yesterday. Overall, I am very satisfied with the product. Its performance is great as far as what it is supposed to do. I like the built-in look with the wood panel of the refrigerator and I like the fact that it keeps the vegetables fresher the way the airflow is versus a standard one.
Weve owned a couple of ranges in the past and Viking has generally had pretty good reviews and the price point was reasonable for the quality of the range. The dealer was definitely knowledgeable about the products and making recommendations and accommodating schedules. Overall, it was a good experience. Weâre generally happy with the quality of the unit. The burners are what we like most about it and the speed of which things kinda heat up. But the one thing that we would want to see improve with is the oven. The temperature doesnt seem to be as consistent as we hope it would be.
Viking dishwasher inferior product model FDW301. After a flood caused us to update our kitchen, we decided on Viking appliances which had a streamlined look and a quality feel. 6 years later and 1 replacement later, the dishwasher is down again costing us $100/ per repair visit. First issue motor did not cycle. Repairman came in and cleaned filters and bottom water, which I do daily, and it appeared to work. First use, dirty dishes again. I am tired of emptying dirty dishes out of my dishwasher and cleaning the inside of a dishwasher. I have contacted customer service with no results. PRICING A NON VIKING REPLACEMENT DISHWASHER RIGHT NOW.
Weâre happy with the quality of the Viking range that came with our house. Instead of a typical stove where thereâs only four burners, we have six. Overall, were very satisfied so far with their product.
We bought a house and a Viking refrigerator came with it. Itâs pretty and weve been using it for three years now. It was too expensive to have broken twice with two completely different issues whereas other refrigerators have never been broken. So, we were not happy with it. I called Viking but there was not enough repair people from them so I had to wait a week and all my food went bad both times.
My Viking refrigerator is good. The only thing is its such a humungous refrigerator but its so tiny inside. Its only like 19 cubic feet, and I just disregarded that whenever I was picking it out. Ive worked with AJ Madisons, which is who I ordered the refrigerator through, and that was a terrible experience. My product came so late. It was promised to me like months before I got it. When I ordered it, I had AJ Madison call the manufacturer and find out when to expect it by. I was promised that it would only take three months, and it took six months to get it once I paid for it.
I am thankful to hear that others have had the horrible experiences I have had with Viking. My issues relate to multiple appliances and again, we purchased an all brand new Viking kitchen, with top of the line features. Since I have had the appliance, I am on an intimate basis with the repair tech referred by Viking whom are not much better in terms of quality and consistency in servicing. Ice maker - I am on my third replacement, finally breaking down to try it again! My accessory doors broke off on day 1, forget it, too expensive to repair. My refrigerator leaks from bottom, put a towel there, itâs easier than trying to get a reputable repair organization to fix it. First, itâs this and then itâs that and then it leaks again. Ice maker replaced 2x, then when it stops working after 30 days, I am told it only has a 30 day parts warranty. Thirty days, are you freaking kidding me? Now the Viking Dishwasher is out and again. Oh Viking had lots of trouble with their computer boards, but now on newer versions, all is good, yeah right. Really, I think this company puts all its R&D investment money into looks, not substance, and itâs damn irritating. The only saving grace for me is that we own a General contracting business and I can truly relate my experiences first hand to the customers only much too eager for referrals on best appliance practices... I would think differently if they even tried to take care of their customers.
I like my Viking Range. The quality of the range is really good. I also felt great when I went to their training and the environment was really good. The instructor gives class on how to use it. Everybody was nice and explained everything very clearly. I recommend Viking Ranges.
I heard better reviews on Viking from people that have had them, and I wanted to go in the direction of a range like this only because less bells and whistles means less to break. The quality is good. The door handle wouldnt open one time and the rep that came to do the repair was excellent. He was on time and it was easy to make the appointment. They were very good and professional. I also like that they took care of the problem quickly. Plus it was covered under warranty.
Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.
I ordered from Viking Ranges online and they held the appliances for us for six months since we were remodeling. It was delivered from Texas to Minnesota and it took five business days. My other commercial ovens have an all seamless steel top but this one has shiny black, which is harder to keep clean than the others. Still, weâre very happy with the quality of Viking Ranges.
I was going through my documents when I purchased from Viking and Iâm trying to figure out the process because I need the refrigerator to be fixed. For six months, it has been working well. However, for the past two months, itâs freezing the fruit even in the refrigerator. I tried to change the settings, but it doesnt change. Overall, I like the refrigerator. My daughter has the sets of Viking in two houses. I got the good feedback from them, which was why I decided to purchase. The dishwasher and the hood are working fine and I would recommend it. But Iâm not sure about the refrigerators because I started to look up reviews online and it looks like that its a common problem about the temperature of the refrigerator. So, Im not sure what the problem is with mine.
I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.
My Viking range is great and I really love it. Its a beautiful stove and I love the classic look. I have more of an elegant kitchen and I think it really adds to the whole look of the kitchen besides being a great appliance as well. The convection oven part is a lot better than the Frigidaire I had before. I also like how the simmer seems to be a lot better cause I can put the flame really low.
Iâve known about Vikings Refrigerator for years. They were in my family growing up and I liked their dependability. I like the design of the unit I have. But I had a poor experience with my Viking dealer, an online dealer. I purchased from a company called Appliances Connection and theyre out of New Jersey while Iâm in Atlanta. I knew exactly the model I wanted and did everything online. But there were problems with the communication between the sales representative when I ordered the unit and the shipping department, and theres the need or knowledge of being service oriented. It was committed to me that it going to be a white glove delivery experience and that the old refrigeration unit would be removed. But when the delivery people got here, they dropped the Viking Refrigerator in my front door and left. I wasnât able to inspect it and I had to struggle and had to pay them additional cash to be able to get the old unit removed. Other than that, the overall quality of the refrigerator is great.
Following a friends recommendation, I got a Viking range and its beautiful. I got the black one and not only does it work well, but itâs nice-looking. The quality is really good too. I love cooking with it, although there are things that it can do that I havent utilized yet because Iâve only had it hooked up for about four months. Also, when I first got it, the broiler was broken. They just fixed that about a month ago. Its an amazing broiler, it goes over the whole top of the oven. It took a long time for them to come out to get it fixed because I live in a rural area. There was some problem with me getting the paperwork, but it didnât have to do with Viking. I bought it through AJ Madison, and their company was the one that I was having trouble with obtaining the paperwork so that I could get the product registered, and then I could get it serviced for free under the warranty. The person who handled it did a good job, and it works now.Apart from the broiler, which I love that, I also love that on a standard stove that Iâm used to, it has the smaller center burners, and these can all go to the boiling. And then they have one thatâs huge, so it really gets your water boiling quickly. It also has a dehydrator built into it, which is amazing. It bakes well, too. Iâve had good experience with everything. I would buy one again for sure.
Weve had the Viking refrigerator since â07 when we remodeled the kitchen. Unfortunately, weve had a number of issues with the unit since we bought it. The compressor went out within the first three years and although it was covered, the hassle of having a refrigerator not working was not desirable. We also had something else similar go out that we had to cover labor on. Then we had an icemaker go out and it got replaced. Then back in July, it stopped refrigerating. We had a leak in a tube for the Freon. This tube system had a little pan that had water in it so it corroded and that was where it leaked. So we had a guy come in and do a repair on it. But that was only a temporary repair. In August, it failed again. We realized that the unit was still covered for parts although not for labor because it was a six-year parts and labor then a 12-year parts warranty. At that point, the refrigerator was just under 11 years. So we called about having the part covered but the guy that we had through that one repair that failed said the he couldnt submit that to the factory because he was not factory-authorized. So I looked up an authorized repair center which was located in Wisconsin, about 60 miles away from us. But we were told that at that point, our warranty was null and void because the repair was done by an unauthorized repair guy and he did something that the factory would not have authorized. When we contacted Viking, they confirmed that the repair that was done, which was putting a sealer into some Freon, was not really authorized and it could cause other parts to fail. I also talked to two technicians and when the customer service person came back, they offered us a different unit, a brand new unit, at a 25% discount. But it was still gonna be a lot of money. Plus the new unit did not have some of the features we had. It did not even have a water dispenser. Then I contacted this other repair guy. He said that he was pretty sure he knew what was wrong. He came back and fixed it, and its been working fine ever since. Hailey, from the unit factory, contacted us and she was a very nice person. My wife explained to her what had happened and that we were just gonna stay with what we had and see how it goes. So the refrigerator had four different repairs and the door ripped on it as well. There is no perfect but you would think some of these things would be more long-lasting than what they had been. The design is really poor unfortunately. While we like the unit, were disappointed with the quality of the high-end appliance that we paid a premium price for. We initially paid somewhere in the $5,000 range for it and the fact that it has gone out so many times is disappointing.
Ive always known about Viking and bought their range online recently. When it was delivered, it had two burners that werent working and yet, it had this hand-signed quality control sheet with all these guys initials on it. So, that didnt work too well. Im glad that theres a good service provider here because they had come to fix that last burner today. Were basically happy we bought the range but disappointed in the initial quality.
I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.
I heard about Viking through some friends of mine that are builders. The Viking rep here is a friend of one of my friends and he talked me into going with Viking, although I wasnât going to go with them because I had heard in the past that they were having long term issues with the oven. But he convinced me that Viking had corrected the flaws that their products had. The dealer was good and he had just the right amount of information and push. The cooktop that we got from Viking has been amazing and I like the burners on top. The fridge has been awesome and the dishwasher seems to be good so far. But the oven hasnât been working and we havenât been able to use it for a week or so. It worked fine before and then the appliance repair guy came out and made an adjustment, and the oven went from working to non-working. They had to order a new regulator, but the part doesnât work at all. So, he had to order some new parts last week.
I was doing a re-do and I didnât do a lot of research. I recognized the Viking name and I expected it would be a quality product. Since the moment they went in, I find the customer service to be horrific. We had some issues. The stove was leaking. The refrigerator was leaking. The dishwasher hasnt been working properly. All kinds of things. Trying to get through to their customer service meant I needed to reach out to some third party contacts. It was very hard to reach them by phone, I had to email them. It took over a week to hear back before they even got in touch with me.Then they had to contact a service representative. The service representative from my area was horrific. He came into my home and said, âI cant really look at that for you. I cant really touch that because Vikingâs not gonna pay me to do that,â which doesnt exactly lead me to believe that theres a lot of support for anything that goes wrong. Some of the things would have been super easy fixes have they just been willing to say, âOkay, its a brand new product, and were gonna help you.â But they didnt do that.My most recent issue was that the refrigerator is less than six months old, and the vegetable and fruit trays fell off the track. I couldnt get them back on. My husband couldnt get them back on. So we called and that was a month ago. To this day, we still have no answer on how they will rectify that situation. After two weeks, the horrific service man came, looked at it, touched it for one second, and said, âI think its cosmetic. It will be $325 to fix.â That was the last I heard from him. I told him were not paying $325. Its brand new and its not cosmetic. A track on a brand new refrigerator is in no way cosmetic. I didnt smash the stainless steel on the outside of the refrigerator or even crack the glass of a shelf, which I could understand. But a track is a working part. Thats unacceptable. My husband said yesterday that it is a piece of junk. We bought an entire suite as a rebuild. It was a big investment for us. It wasnt an easy purchase, it was something that we did because we thought it would add value to our home and it would be quality appliances, and we wouldnt have to call service a million times like we might have had to call if we bought GE appliances. But I would have been way better off with that. I also had Sub-Zero refrigerators for 35 years before this. Two of them only over 20 years each, and I never had to call the service company. The dishwasher, which we have not called them for service, already has parts that have fallen off of it. Its the most disappointing purchase of my life. I would never buy Viking again. I would never recommend it. The refrigerator, over $10,000 just for the one piece of equipment, they got to have better service. This is not acceptable. Even if the customer ends up having to pay, which I should not have to pay for that, I should at least get somebody to answer my question. I should have a supervisor or a manager call me back to say this shouldnt happen.
I sold all brands of appliances for 30 years, when I retired I bought a 30 in dual fuel Viking range. The way they are built, the customer service I got and my customers got over the years was by far the best in the industry. This belief paid off when after 5 years my range oven liner crazed. Because the liner could not be replaced or repaired Viking replaced my range with a New model at cost. Best Service Ever!
The quality is good. I like the simmer quality. However, Im having difficulty cleaning the top of the range because it says that youre only supposed to use soap and water, but that doesnt clean it. I went to Trail Appliances - one on King George, in Surrey, and the new one in Cloverdale. I went to two branches to try to ask them about accessories for the Viking because I wanted to get a grill cover, and I also wanted to ask them about how to clean and the maintenance, but they werent very helpful. I have the six plates and the grill. Its a 5 Series. I would like a better engineering of that particular product. They should have made at least one of the plates a small one, because its six large plates.
Im a kitchen and bath remodeling contractor and I installed a Viking rvgr3305bss 30 gas range and, it came with 2 out of 5 knobs, were missing inserts, and called, and was on hold forever. Then when I explained the problem, they said it was probably Best Buys fault??? Luckily they are sending replacements but its a problem that should not exist. They should check these out before shipping them. Ive installed ranges from others that are a third the price and have much better quality - very disappointed. Might I mention this range cost $3,600. Buy Kenmore or Whirlpool, they are of much better quality.
Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. Anytime I go to a restaurant, they have Viking stoves, and those stoves are here forever! It will be the last stove you ever own.
I went to Best Buy and they had Viking Ranges on display along with the other brands and I liked it. Its simple. There are no any electric screens which I didnt like. It was all manual like those round switches. Working with the team members was great and they explained everything. Everything we received was in good condition except there was an issue. The thing we put on the top of the burner to hold anything like a big bowl has small rubbers so they wont make noise when they touch the panel and one of them is missing that small rubber. In my opinion they need to lower the price a little bit so we can buy the whole stuff cause right now I only have an oven and the microwave. I was looking to buy a refrigerator and a separate oven plus a washer.
We bought the package of Viking appliances - fridge, wall oven, and stove from Trail Appliance in Calgary in 2009. We are living outside of any major city so servicing these products has been tough. The products are constantly falling apart and expensive to repair. The fridge shelves and drawers have cracked numerous times and are now taped with duct tape as the replacements are too expensive to keep replacing! The stove elements are no longer working so in process of finding repairs. Not hopeful. Very disappointed with the product line.
On 4/10/18 our new Viking appliances were delivered and installed in our home. The side by side refrigerator freezer did not cool at all. The following day the salesperson came and tried to get it working without any luck. He called Viking who informed us they would come out the following week. We also discovered that the Downdraft to our brand new Viking Stove did not work as well! The following Monday a supposed Viking technician came to our home to check both appliances. He had no computer to run diagnostics and no email acct to his phone. The Viking phone operators had a difficult time discussing the problems with him. He informed us that BOTH appliances needed parts and that it would probably be around 10 days. Here it is the 25th and I havent heard from them. Over $20,000 spent on appliances and half of them dont work from day 1!!!
When our Viking range was first brought in, the range had a panel that wasnt squared. It had been assembled off-kilter so people had to come out and take care of that. Then getting the range set up was a little bit challenging as well. We put the full range in the island so we needed to get a downdraft. But the Viking dealer didnt seem to be quite as knowledgeable to be able to tell our builder what exactly was gonna be needed to install the downdraft. They gave us the specifications but it didnt really include anything as far as the downdraft being vented down underneath the floor. When you have a cooktop, the downdraft goes in the cabinet underneath. So our case was a little different too and that was partly why they were unfamiliar with doing it that way. This range also basically came with a free dishwasher but it doesnt dry. It also has had a strange odor from day one. Then for the warranty, I went online and put the information for the range. But for the dishwasher, there was a registration-type card. I mailed it but it came back to me because the address was wrong. It made me ask whether that was why they were getting rid of the dishwashers. But other than those, everything has been great so far. I like the overall look and style of the burner. The range also has a light that comes on when you open the door. Then there is a little button that you can push for the light to come on when the door is shut. But the light doesnt come on and it has never worked. The supplier from whom we purchased the oven has given me a number to call though. That aside, the quality is good. We also got the griddle that you can put off and on the top of any of the burners and its a great feature. I love that thing. Itâs a non-stick one rather than purchasing the range that has the griddle built into it.
We worked with the person that our builder referred and he was really nice and helped us out. We purchased the Viking refrigerator as we like its look. We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and Iâve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. Itâs been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. So now, itâs supposed to be with the regional manager and I keep calling back every day and nobody calls me back. Its a very poor, runty service with Viking.
My dishwasher was recalled due to fire hazard. It stopped working. They would NOT fix it for free. Then silverware basket fell apart with very little use. I called Viking in Concord, CA and spoke to a woman who works for Viking. She said she could order a replacement silverware basket for my tenant (The house and dishwasher is hundreds of miles away so I had no idea of its size.). I paid for the basket and was told it would arrive in 3 weeks. After two MONTHS, it had not arrived, per tenant. I called the appliance store and they called the lady in Concord and she said it had been shipped out twice. However, this proved not to be the case at all. When I spoke to her, she said that due to the fact that the dishwasher was 4 years old and discontinued, she couldnt find any baskets. She had none available and had made no progress in finding me one. She never once bothered to contact me, or the store for two months to inform of us of the situation. She could not give me the size or any helpful information so I could search for it myself. I went out online and found a website that locates parts and I had one ordered in 5 minutes. After I spent $20,000 on VIKING appliances, I have much regret. I will never buy from them again and beware, this is how they will treat you, too.
We bought top of the line Viking Refrigerator & all other Viking kitchen appliances about 6 years ago from Airport Appliances with 10 year extended warranty for additional $2K Associated Service Corp. Warranty. First year, the ice maker does not work properly & froze in the door which we couldnt use any more. Then, the water line busted & flooded/damaged our house which we had to file insurance claim. Now, it stopped working & was blowing hot air. We contacted Jags Appliance Repair 510-494-9574 who charged us $135 service call & said that compressor, serpentine, heat exchanger, evaporator needs new which will costs another $1700 for repairs (parts covered), not to mention the spoiled food. I called Airport Appliances 510-783-3494 that they cant do anything & that we should contact Associated Service Warranty that we purchased from them for $2K. I called Associated Service Corp Warranty 800-325-4363. They said they only cover up to $160 only, but the service agreement states otherwise that labor is included... I contacted Viking Bay Area Regional Manager/Sue ** who said that Viking parts are covered & can pay only $350 towards the repair, or buy another Viking refrigerator half price. (No thanks to purchasing another Viking products & never recommend this expensive piece of metal that doesnt work.) I forgot to mention that bottom metal piece is rusting too!
Ive always heard good things about Viking. Several years ago, I heard bad things about them but I decided to give them a chance because they are out of Greenwood and my niece lives there. I chose Viking because it did have a good reputation. Plus, they offered the free dishwasher to come with the range. Building a home, that was an incentive for us. I absolutely love the quality of the range. We lived in military housing for so long and we had an electric stove and all my pots would hit each other. I couldnt wait to get a gas range. My brother said to get a 36-inch and Im so glad that I did because my pots can breathe. They dont touch each other. I love the roominess. Weve used it for about two weeks now and weve been very pleased. They have set off our alarms but thats because we didnt put the hood on. Other than that, it heats up immediately and it puts out just the right amount of heat. I love that it cooks my potato quickly. Its also easy to clean. I do have a sponge that I use to make sure it doesnt scratch because when I inquired one time, you have to be careful not to use something that would be abrasive to scratch it. I like the grates. Theyre very heavy-duty. I do like the knobs too. They are big and easy to turn. I thought it would be cute if they came in different colors but when I called in, they said theres another competitor that is known for certain colors. Ive noticed that the back cooks faster than the front but it performs beautifully. It looks like theyve improved from what had happened a couple of years ago. Theyre trying to get their name back.
I had a full Viking kitchen in my former home but I had to get a refrigerator in a hurry because I was moving. But when I got my Viking Refrigerator last January, I had a problem with it immediately. The freezer door did not close completely so I had the serviceman come out because it looked like it was out of alignment. He said we just have to pull it this way or that so he realigned it. I left town for two weeks, came back and my freezer was so frozen up we could not open it. On one side, there was a tiny gap and all that air was getting in there. When I got back, I immediately called the repairman. He comes only to Tuscaloosa once a week so I had to wait a week. The serviceman came back and said, Youre gonna have to take everything out of your refrigerator. Turn the refrigerator off, let it thaw like an old-fashioned refrigerator, and then find a place to put all of it, then bring it back... So it was a terrible experience. He told me that it was something that happens with that refrigerator and that was a very lame excuse. Everything in my house is Viking and this is just something I have to accept? Thats not why I went with it. There was no repair done. He simply said that I needed to make sure that when the door closes, it is not caught one way or the other so that the air could not get in.But other than that, buying the refrigerator through a Viking dealer has been a wonderful experience. They were very nice trying to accommodate me. Also, my overall experience with the repairman has been excellent. He was great, very polite, very kind and he fixes what the problem is, but I was not satisfied with the fact that I just have to accept it. As far as that overall experience with owning a Viking refrigerator, its not good because I have this concern. Its just not a comfortable feeling. I even asked, Would they do something to replace it? He said, It would really take something big, and this is not something big. I told him that the inconvenience that I had to completely empty my refrigerator, turn it off, let it thaw out, and then put everything back in the freezer is not what I expect out of Viking.
I heard about Viking 15 years ago but I just was able to afford a Viking a couple of months ago. I love the way the stove looks with the legs, which is what I love the most about them and then, I love the way it cooks. It makes my food taste different and it cooks faster. I always heard that Viking was top-of-the-line, which was what I wanted, and that made me purchase it. My range has been magnificent. I wouldnt buy no other stove but Viking. But the purchasing process was horrible. Had I known that I could have dealt with Viking myself, I would have gone straight through them. The delivery people were unprofessional. They said that they were gonna take my stove back if I didnât pay them $300 for the hook-up service. I called my husband and he was so upset because we had already given them $6,500. They said it wasnt in what I paid. He told me I needed to pay them in cash. So, it was a gimmick. My husband said that we were not gonna do business with them and told me to go upstairs, get the money and give it to them so they could get out. And that was what I did. I called AJ Madison, the people I purchased it from, but I would never do business with them ever again. I would never recommend anybody to them. They should not even be selling Viking products. Still, when somebody from Viking came to my house because one of my eyes wasnât lighting, he walked me through everything and told me what I needed to do. He was excellent. I loved that guy and I could have kept him.
I liked the quality of the Viking Range that I have observed at a family memberâs house. I spent about two hours in the store and we finally landed on a product that I liked. However, I was really dissatisfied when the installer came to put the Viking Range in. They charged me $200 for the install, which I donât remember having that conversation with my salesperson. I paid $50 to have them install the dishwasher so I thought I had paid for all of my installation fees already when I purchased the equipment. I paid them the $200 because my beef was not with them. My beef was with Famous Tate, who sold this stuff. I then brought my concerns to them. After some back and forth, and then realizing that I was not going to accept their answer, they finally gave me a credit of $200 on the purchase, which completely satisfied me. We also have a slight issue with our oven, where the door does not always close or shut off the lights. It is not pressing that little button that turns the light on and off. I have reminded my wife to call Famous Tate about it.
I went to a number of home shows when I was trying to build a house and talked to a Viking Refrigerators rep and a dealer. I went to about five more home shows and saw the same guys. I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice wonât come out. The ref is great, but itâs having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldnât use that dealer again. Iâm still satisfied with my overall experience with Viking Refrigerators. Others would just have to make sure they get the right dealer and a Viking Refrigerators certified installer. Thatâs important.
We have the built-in side by side Viking Refrigerator since we purchased our home new in 2007. The water dispenser never shuts off and anything on the top left shelf of the refrigerator freezes. The ice maker has no stopping point and fills the drawer until you cant remove it. The water dispenser stopped working a week ago and now doesnt make ice at all. Absolutely the worst refrigerator we have ever owned.
I have a Viking freezer and a refrigerator and I havenât been really pleased with either one of them. Ive had the refrigerator for eight years and it was the refrigerator of the home that I built. The problem Im having now is the coolant and there was some defrosting in it. The technicians had replaced it and tore this thing apart, but Viking sent them a defective part. When the technicians found out about it, they had already drained all the stuff out of the refrigerator and started putting it back together. The refrigerator has been down for a week now. Weâve been looking for parts for three months and itâs just not been a good thing. The refrigerator door doesnât close right and the guy was trying to work on that too. The freezer seal has always been an issue as far as the white trim and weâve replaced that a couple times. The refrigerator itself is fine, but as far as the room goes and the expenses, Iâve had a lot of difficulty with it and the freezer. Ive had the ice maker repaired and its been a terrible experience. I donât think Iâd buy another Viking. If someone asks me about them, Id tell them not to get a Viking.
We owned this place for seven years. After five years, we noticed that the refrigerator would hardly ever shut off and the alarm would go off daily, then it went up to twice a day. We were having problems keeping ice cubes. They would melt, would stick together, and then everything would have a lot of moisture within the freezer area. It got to a point we could hardly keep frozen items in there. A.B. May, the company we got a contract with who service Viking, came out, looked at it and said, âYou donât have a good seal. It could be where the refrigerator itself is a little wavy, so therefore, you canât get a good seal.â He recommended I just go ahead and not keep trying to put parts back into it and fix it but get a new one instead. So, we did. We went close to a year dealing with the alarm problem. In the last six months, we couldnât keep anything in our refrigerator while they were trying to figure out what was wrong. When we went and purchased a new one, they pulled the old one out and I saw this big, rusted-out area in the back of the refrigerator. I called Viking at that time and talked to one of the experts in the technical part of it. I asked him what would the cost be if it had this rusted-out area. He said, âIt would cost you having problems maintaining the temperature in your freezer department, and youâd have more moisture in there. You wouldnât be able to really keep anything frozen consistently.â I said, âWell, thatâs exactly the problem we had for a year.â Nobody pulled it out to look at the back, obviously. They just looked to try and figure out what was causing with the seal, including the company that is recommended by Viking here.I passed that information on to customer service and I said, âHereâs what our problem has been. We had to go buy a new refrigerator because of this. The whole complex here has Viking in it, and our neighbors refrigerators are working fine.â So now, I submitted all that to the claims department and I didnât hear from them. I sent another email asking customer service what is going on because I was told, it was passed on to claims. Somebody from claims then got back to me and said, âWe need the photos youâre talking about. We need the service repairs.â So, I said, âCustomer service said that was all passed on to you. It even had a service number. I have not heard back from them.â So, Iâm not very happy with Viking because Ive not been able to get the response I need from them. Im to the point where if I donât get a response, Im going to start posting those rusted-out pictures on social media. We have the double ovens, microwave, dishwasher, everything is Viking, that was why we went back with the Viking refrigerator again. Iâm very happy with the new one. Itâs working like itâs supposed to. But the problem is the old one. Ive had it for about 10 years. And for a year, we were very inconvenienced. At least I can get a goodnightâs sleep now. I donât have to get up in the middle of the night to turn the alarm off. I even called Viking and wanted to know if there was a way I could disable it and they said no. They said that we canât disable it. And the only thing we can do is if we leave for a vacation. They said, âYouâre just gonna have to unplug it and itâs the only way.â Because we didnât want it beeping all the time. It would drive the neighbors nuts. So, I wouldnât rate their service very good, not from what I was being told.So far, itâs been tough even getting anybody to communicate back to me. Every time I called in and asked about what I could do, the customer service people would always transfer me to somebody else. But when we couldnât keep the temperatures in the oven, A.B. May came out and replaced the circuit boards. They were great. We just recently replaced the hinges on one of the oven doors because it wouldnât even shut tight enough to turn the light off. And when they put the new hinges on, itâs now working as itâs supposed to.
We wanted matching appliances but I didnt want a built-in refrigerator because it was too much money. Viking had the other type of refrigerator and that worked for us. The quality is good and we like it.
Im enjoying my Viking Refrigerator. It has great lighting. The shelf space has a nice arrangement. Theres a lot of storage on the doors. I was particularly interested in a drawer freezer, and a one door upper unit versus side by side and it fit the bill. I also was interested in customizing the front of the fridge and it was able to accommodate that as well. I had a problem with one of the door shelves, and it was replaced. So that was fine.
My builder recommended Viking Refrigerators. Its quality is excellent and my favorite feature would be its two doors where ones for the freezer and ones for the refrigerator.
30 Double French Door Oven - I must say that I am extremely pleased with this product! Being a Chef, I am very particular on whats in my home kitchen, seeing that my wife and I like to entertain (as my time permits). This oven has exceeded my expectations. Not on just looks, but performance. It heats very quickly, cooks/bakes very well, and the temperature probe is accurate. Its a real eye-catcher when someone walks into my kitchen.
My sister had a Viking Refrigerator and I also chose them because my LG broke and I wanted a counter depth refrigerator, basically with the luxury of a high-end refrigerator, but not having a built-in. A built-in will run you $10,000 to $12,000, so I thought it was a good idea to go with the name Viking. It really fits my kitchen as well. The price was on point and I didnât consider anything else because of it. The quality of the refrigerator is good, so far. It seems to keep my food a lot fresher than my LG did. However, the refrigerator door doesnât stay all the way down in that lift. It also makes ice so fast that when you pull the door open, ice cubes fall out. Itâs not a defect and itâs not such a bad thing, but its not perfect. Nevertheless, I like the handle of the refrigerator because it matches our Wolf oven. Im all about the look and I would tell others to definitely go for Viking Refrigerators. I would also tell them that I could actually go to Costco with the comfort of knowing my food is going to last.
The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is good. Its all metallic and easy to pull down drawers and wash and clean. But the thing that we are having an issue with is when you open the refrigerator, its very heavy because the door is custom-made. Then the stopper there broke last week. So we had someone come and replace it. But Im worried that its gonna happen again. Other than that, everything is good.
We bought a Viking range two years ago (now 3 months out of the two-year warranty), model number VGIC53014BSS04. It looks great, the top burners work fine, but the oven cooks terribly uneven. For example, food on the left side overcooks, while on the right side is still uncooked. This is the case with or without the convection fan on, and is true for whatever we are baking. I wish I could include photos, but I have them.
We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when weâre closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didnât try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration Iâd say, âIf youre rich, get it.â
I am now on week 6 and STILL l waiting for a LP to Propane converter that was suppose to be here before 3 weeks. The micro/Conv oven I ordered came in with dents in it AND it is now going on week 4 and I STILL do not have a micro/Conv oven. My kitchen is going on week 6 and due to VIKING I DO NOT HAVE MY KITCHEN COMPLETED!!! This is ridiculous!!! I WILL NEVER buy a VIKING product again. I am redoing a kitchen, I knew what I wanted and ordered EVERYTHING in plenty of time to have it completed BUT I DO NOT have my kitchen completed due to VIKING!!!I purchased all new Viking products from our local dealer Probst Refrigeration in Effingham, IL and here I am still without a kitchen. I am NOT happy at all. My fridge came in with the Viking tag on crooked and still has not been replaced. My fridge control panel came in warped and it also has not been replaced. My fridge has been in over 2 months. I am VERY UNSATISFIED with Viking and I have only used my fridge. I do not have an order number or receipt yet as I still do NOT have WORKING appliances.
We just bought a house and I have a whole Viking kitchen. I cook and bake and I wanted something that would be at the top end of the spectrum and Viking is quality. So far, the refrigeratorâs amazing. It really keeps things cold at the right temperature and I like that whatever I pull out of there, itâs really well-chilled. Everything is working awesome.
Ive been trying to get somebody from Viking to help me for about two and a half months now and Im not happy. Within a matter of two days, I had all four drawers of my refrigerator completely break. The top two where I put cheese and ham, cracked all the way across the plastic. The bottom ones are absolutely broken and shattered in pieces. It must be a plastic piece that goes around it that is cracked. And apparently, there is a bolt that goes in the door that stops it from swinging open when I open it, and that broke too. Now, when I open the door, it swings into the double oven and the handles of the double oven have now made dents or scratches on the door of the refrigerator. Right now, I have a towel tied around the double Viking Professional oven handle, my $12,000 refrigerator is completely broken, and I cant even have anybody to come over to my house with this looking like this. No one has gotten back to me. Ferguson has been wonderful and gave me the name of somebody to come out and see what could be done or if it was on a recall list, and that guy that was called wouldnt even come out to the house to look at it. He said there was nothing he could do as Im not under warranty. Im really frustrated. Its ridiculous to pay this kind of money and itd be five years old and all of a sudden it just breaks.I looked up on the internet to see if anybody else was having those problems, and apparently, theres been a lot of people that had the same problem with the drawers cracking and breaking. The top ones where I put ham and cheese in look bad, but I can still use them. However, the ones at the bottom where I put lettuce, vegetables, and tomatoes, I cant even use. Theyre in probably about 10 pieces. I talked to customer service and they told me that there was nothing they could do and that to order me four new drawers, it would be about $1,200. Is there somebody else that I can speak to? Nope. Thats it. I am really pissed. Furthermore, in the very beginning, the girl at customer service wouldnt even talk to me because she said I had not registered. I guess I had to register the products with Viking for any call backs and warranties, and until I did that, she wouldnt even talk to me. So I did that. I had to find the receipt from five years ago when we purchased it, with the purchase number and address. Then I called her back and theres nothing they can do. This was after the approved repairman for Viking wouldnt even come out. I said I didnt understand as the reason that we purchased Viking is we assumed that they would stand behind their product. They said they do, but it does not feel like that for me.
Our Viking refrigerator was installed in the home that we purchased. We liked the look of it more than anything. I mostly did the purchase online then I made a telephone call and arranged everything ahead of time. That worked fine and then I went to the store to pay for it. I havent been using the refrigerator every day and Ive only been back there once or twice but it looks really nice and seems to work fine. I also like the idea that its a free standing one but it can be put in a space where it looks like its built in. Its sort of a poor mans built-in refrigerator. Viking isnt exactly that cheap but I like the way it works. The capacity is a little bit less than the single door refrigerator at our own house but its fine for us. The quality is pretty good too.
Have had problems with Viking dishwasher from day one!!! Seems like I am not the only one!!! Ever heard of Class Action suit????? I am sick and tired of having to unload this dishwasher of dirty dishes because dishwasher wont start!!!! Serviceman is an hour away!!! Viking is shameful and needs to be held accountable!!!!! I own the stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator! Would had gone with Wolf had I known Viking was so cheaply made!! My products arent even 5 years old and rarely used!!! Really thought I was improving my remodeled kitchen.... I was wrong! I want my money back!!!!
Our house was on fire and we had deadlines on different things to get done. We needed the liquid propane and so instead, we got natural gas and had to do the conversion and had to get reimbursed by the dealer. It was not a pleasant experience. Our house had a Viking Range in it so we had to buy a Viking Range to replace it. However, the dealers were terrible. We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isnât in stock. They told me, âOh, yeah. We can get it and weâll have it in such and such period of time.â Then they wait 24 hours or so and then called me and said, âOh, I am sorry. We just learned that this is backordered and youâre not gonna get it until hell freezes over.â So I canceled one order with one dealer, then went to another one but they pulled the same stunt on us. But it was nice that we got an extra microwave and a 5% rebate, both offered by Viking. Also, I like the small oven and the hood.
I am very disappointed with my Viking gas range (2 years old). Although it is quite beautiful, it does not function well. It smells of gas anytime the oven is on at 350 degrees or less. No one will repair it. I have had the gas company out to check on it. They said that the odor is very unfortunate, but it is not leaking enough to be unsafe. I used to enjoy the aroma of bread baking. I hate my beautiful, expensive range. I do not recommend purchasing a Viking product.
I bought the Viking dishwasher about 3 years ago and I only use it less than once a week. The circuit board has to be replaced for over $550 including labor. I am very disappointed in the quality of this expensive brand. It only has the name!!! My old Jenn-Air dishwasher lasted for years without problem. What a shame! I will never buy a Viking again!
Were having our unit repaired because the icemaker is not working, and itâs not self-leveling very well. The tech came out three days ago and determined the thing in the bottom needed to be completely repaired. He gave us a quote on what it is going to cost to fix that. Also, some of the lights arenât working and we have to replace them. We love the industrialized look, but looking at this is a $10,000 refrigerator, one would think that these issues wouldnt be happening, but they are. We also have a Viking dishwasher that has not been hooked up yet, and were crossing our fingers that that will not cause us any more trauma.
Iâve always been a fan of Viking appliances. I found the refrigerator on the website and I love its quality. I dont have to worry about needing customer service because majority of the time, the refrigerator is going to work like its supposed to and Im not going to have problems with it.
My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since they became available commercially. It was about the same price as its competitors but its the one I always dreamed of having. I wanted a six burner and the one I received from Viking is incredible. I love it. My old range was a Kitchenaid and with it, I couldnt run the burners on top and the oven at the same time. I would get a power failure and at that time, that was allegedly a good range. So I wanted something that was not going to crap out on me. We just had Thanksgiving and with the Viking Range, I had at least five burners going in the oven and everything was perfect. But when I purchased it from a retail store, it was a mess. I had complaints and they kept not wanting to put me through Viking. They kept telling me that Viking wouldnt do anything about it because the ovens got to have many things wrong with it. They also kept saying they could repair it and when we were down to the 6th thing that needed to be repaired, finally they sent the email with my complaints to Viking. Once Viking got involved, I had a new stove within two weeks. And because the range and the refrigerator are only separated by a small-ish cabinet, I also told them that when the refrigerator came in, it had a big bash on the side. Again, I had a new one in five days. So the people at Viking were incredibly responsive and based on my experience, we should watch out for the retail outfit that we get our Viking products from.
Well, once again, burners, ignitors, you name it; everything falls apart on this 36-inch 6 burner $7,000 paperweight. Paint fell off of edges of doors, bottom kick plate rusted out, on and on. In the past, I paid a repairman to fix... normally an $800 to $1,000 repair. Since I lost my wife to cancer 2 years ago, and have an 11-year-old, I can no longer afford the cost. So the last time they went, I went online and figured it out. So I will be doing it again this weekend. Burners, ignitors, etc... Viking is a terrible company. Truthfully, I cant believe they are still in business. Their service department is a waste. Comments they have made to me: You cook too much, you are using excessive heat in your oven??? Most people do not use their ovens 5 nights a week??? They suck. Never again, and I tell all of my friends to not buy any of their products. The last kitchen renovation was $13,000. Im going to a different vendor for the next renovation. Remember Roper? I still have one from 1947 that my parents gave me. It runs perfectly in our second home.
The Viking range is a pretty good range. Its got high BTU and the stovetop is especially pretty good. I do have some concerns about the oven though. The temperature seems to be off from what you set it to. Otherwise, I have no complaints about the quality.
We were looking for the type of professional oven and knew Viking had a good name. We looked at the other ones, too but chose the Viking. The quality is a little bit shifty and could be better for the price. Iâve already had it serviced back in November because the oven wasnât starting for me right away. However, the repairman came just two weeks ago, thatâs how long it took me to get service. We live in a very small rural community and it was very frustrating calling Viking. Also, the oven is a little small for me at times. Other than that, itâs fine and I really like it.
Viking Range is a good range and we havent had any issues with it. It looks commercial grade but for residential. I like the quality and it cooks well. Also, their representative was helpful.
I just sold my 30 Viking range (to a guy that refurbishes and resells them) and have never been so happy in my life! What a complete piece of crap and absolute horrible customer service. I purchased brand new in 2008 and after a couple years of moderate use the oven began to cycle off during cooking and would not cycle back on. I spent over $1000 with two different Viking Authorized repair companies to replace the computer control board, the thermostat, and sensor, only to have the exact same problem. Viking customer service provided me with zero help. The repair guys both told me that they encounter the same problem with countless Viking ranges. Im giving Wolf a shot - hopefully they will be better. Buyer beware!
I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. They brought the first refrigerator in and installed it in such a way that they damaged one of the doors. And then they had to send another refrigerator to replace it and it was a big ordeal. Nevertheless, I would tell my friends that so far, I am happy with my Viking refrigerator.
I have known about Viking Ranges growing up. Seeing them in houses, Iâve been really impressed with how they look. Iâve always wanted a Viking range and I did not know they also had a free-standing fridge that was huge. But, the free dishwasher was the main thing as to why I went with them over other companies. The Viking guy had to come up because we are at a different elevation, so he had to do something. When you turn it on underneath, it takes a little while to light up and I didnât even notice that but he noticed it. Nevertheless, it looks beautiful and everything that weâve put in it has been awesome so far. Also, the rep I dealt with was great. I knew what I wanted so she didnât have to do too much. However, as soon as the first range was delivered, it was all banged up. The lady had it exchanged out within a week and really helped me out with those little things.
I have a Viking stove that Ive been pleased with it so I assumed their refrigerator would be of good quality. I got a brand new one and it was a store model because the other refrigerator was going to be a three-month wait, which I couldnt wait for. I received the refrigerator in June and I like the appearance of it. But I noticed one issue in mid-July where the door doesnt shut properly. The icemaker then broke in September. I noticed that it was freezing stuff in the back of the fridge. That was probably a few weeks afterward but I suspect it hadnt worked at all. I was told that there are three broken parts in my fridge and there is nothing that Viking can do until the supply chain works its way out. Im not pleased.
Viking creates a great product that is sturdy and outperforms other high-end ranges. After buying a Thermador Range that underperformed at every turn and which seemed to be made out of low-quality steel which caught on fire due to a door switch issue, we decided to buy a Viking dual fuel range. What a wonderful experience we have had not just with the product but also with the customer service, which was sorely lacking with Thermador. Thanks for making a superb product!
Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didnt work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didnt like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didnt like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didnt have, but I didnt want an oven that I couldnt use. So I got a Viking.I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then its not and Im a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasnt secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didnt work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didnt think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadnt touched. I dont know where those dents came from, but I didnt do either one of them. So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, Ive been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesnt bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. Its hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. Its hard to see whats going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would. Furthermore, I dont notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I dont know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like its not real sturdy and I dont know how itll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, Im not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then Im getting used to it. Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when its pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldnt keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, Im gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they havent been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, Im pretty happy overall.
Weve been a little disappointed in the quality of our Viking range top and the noise of the fans. But otherwise, the operation has been good.
Viking is very well known and their products are very stylish. I had one before and I decided to get a range from them. I bought it from Elite Appliance and the guy there was very enthusiastic. But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Its really nice.
I had to look up the refrigerator that would fit in the spot of the old refrigerator. Viking refrigerator was one of the two that would fit. We talked with the salesman and Viking Refrigerators was the better of the two purchases. It was with the Pacific Sales at Best Buy and it was very nice. They were knowledgeable and it was easy to purchase. Then the refrigerator was delivered. They took out the old one and put the new one in. So far, Iâve liked everything about the refrigerator. We havenât had any problems with it.
The Viking refrigerator is fantastic. Works perfectly. However, I ordered an icemaker also. It turned out to be the wrong model. After we installed it, it didnt work either. So that was a big deal. The worst part was the trucking company that they use was absolutely horrible. I ordered it from Appliance Warehouse. They did anything they could to get the sale. But once they got my credit card, it went downhill from there.
If anyone has any knowledge of how to start a class action suit, you can count me in. I have had this range for 5 years and it has been nothing but trouble. The broiler igniters initially didnt work and repairmen tried to fix it two times. It worked intermittently and when I called Viking about it again, they said the warranty had expired (even though it was a problem during the warranty period) and they would do nothing about it. Now, the burner for baking is malfunctioning causing explosions that burst open the door because it only partially ignites the gas. I cant believe what a piece of junk this is. Our repairman advised us that it would be a waste of time to replace the bake burner and door hinges (which dont hold the door tight to the frame because the springs cant support the weight of the door) because something else is going to go wrong. He said to buy a new oven.
I chose a Wolf range and they had a part problem and couldnt get the range in in time. So, my second choice was Viking. The oven is great but the burners are hard to regulate and I donât like them. I had somebody from one of Vikings vendors come in to look at it and make sure it was operating correctly, and it wasnt completely operating well. They fixed it. I still am not completely satisfied though. The deal was I wanted a different range to begin with, and somehow, this one arrived. I was moving into a new house, so I had to have a range to get a certificate of occupancy. So, I ended up keeping it. But my struggle with it is I can never get the burners to go low enough just to simmer. Im constantly playing with them and its irritating.
We have Viking range, oven, refrigerator and microwave but after spending money with a Viking refrigerator, were not very happy. The icemaker doesnt work really well and the drawer that the ice goes into is always sticking. We cant always push it in its place perfectly. The seal around the freezer door has been giving us problems ever since it was delivered here. Even after resetting the temperature in the refrigerator section, weve had issues of things freezing in there, and its not been functioning. Weve been calling the dealer we bought the refrigerator from, and theyve been coming out. But for buying quality stuff like this, its not what we expected. My Bentley doesnt give me this type of trouble. Its worth a lot more money but its on the same par. Its that type of quality were expecting. Nevertheless, our experience with the dealer was great. Theyve been great. I think theyre Viking-approved repair people trained by Viking. They came on a timely fashion but I expected the problems to be fixed.
We had dinner with my sister and brother-in-law who have a Viking range. I got to cook on the range and I liked it. We saw an ad for the closeout on the stove at a local appliance dealer. We got the last Viking appliance that they had there. The range was sold to me at $1000 on the list. Itâs a great cooking appliance and I love the heat control on it.
I absolutely love the Viking range. Besides the look, I love the cooktop in it. I ordered extra racks and got all the rollout racks, which I love for baking multiple sheets of cookies at one time. I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.
We got everything Viking here in the house. My in-laws have them and they like them. The double ovenâs unbeatable. The quality of the fridge is really good. The tolerances on everything are good. Its solid. I close the door and I feel its not cheap. However, the compressor went out and I was shocked Viking couldnt give me a new compressor for the Viking. I had to get a replacement refrigerator, which I got a little bit of a discount but at the same time, I shouldnt have to buy a brand new Viking after it wasnt that long. Im not too happy and I found out its a Panasonic condenser unit that goes into the Vikings. I like to think weve got years and years of dependability behind it, but when I hear itâs a Panasonic condenser unit, thats not too reassuring.
I purchased a refrigerator, a stove, wine cooler and vent hood from Viking. The refrigerators quality is great. It looks good and it works well. But we had a cosmetic issue with it about its packaging. I guess itâs from the factory like somebody had scoured through the packaging to get the handles attached. They basically cut the steel when they did so it got scour marks on the steel. Iâve already filed a warranty claim and somebody contacted me. They were supposed to schedule a time to come out but I never heard from them again. The last time I did was eight weeks ago and I just remembered recently that it never got done. When I was speaking with the team at Viking Refrigerators, the experience is generally pretty good. But it was a little frustrating that I had to go separately to register the warranty then come back to them to do it rather than staying to do it with them right then and there. It should have been a little bit easier. But other than that, the experience with talking with them about the problem seemed fine. But they havent followed up with the local contractor. I got a call from Viking shortly after being contacted by the local person asking me if the contractor finished it which I told them that they have not. Then they said to check back in with them but I donât think anyone has. Other than that, I find it interesting that they dont have French door built-in refrigerator on the larger sizes. We got their 42-inch size and Viking doesnât offer a French door refrigerator which we wouldâve liked. But at the end of the day, the cost difference to go for a Wolf or Subzero âcause they have that as an option on a built-in is not worth it. And I will still recommend Viking.
