Outside of the range, all the Viking Products we have purchased, including build in microwave, built in oven, and dishwater failed numerous times and service has been horrible to say the least. Parts take months to get if you can get them at all and service reps pretty much just play guessing games on what to do. Do yourself a favor and go buy a GE or KitchenAid. Viking is all smoke and mirrors and not a high end brand they claim to be.

Weve invested on a full line of Viking appliances in our renovated kitchen a few years ago: refrigerator, stove, oven and microwave. We had to replace the microwave because it was not heating food. Now, the refrigerator is not cooling enough. We called Pacific Sales. We called Viking. They both referred to Appliance Masters, technicians authorized and specialized Viking appliances. Three technicians have come out five (5) times: Changed the fan, changed the board, checked the vent, checked the thermostat, calibrated the temperature. The problem has not been resolved yet. Our kids have gotten sick from eating food going bad because the refrigerator is not cold enough. VIKING IS HIGH END BRAND, EXPENSIVE PRICE TAG WITH POOR POOR QUALITY.

I wanted a Viking range and we purchased one from P.C. Richards. The guy we worked with was a very helpful, nice man. We started the renovation in July and since we’re doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I haven’t had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. I’m still getting used to it. I look at it and I’m thrilled. I like to bake and cook and I’m just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.

I purchased a Viking Refrigerator DTBB363R had several repairs. Now, I get a recall with the option to purchase at $3,600 plus tax. The Viking representative caught me off guard with offering a new refrigerator which is configured exactly the same with a new warranty at half the original price. My receipt from Sun Appliance shows we paid $4,490 on October 7, 2003. We are retired on a fixed income and feel this is unjustified. We feel we are caught between the eight ball. We do not want a defective product that could injure someone. And since the refrigerator has custom panels to match the custom kitchen design, we have no other choice but to purchase another one. Shame on Viking!

Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

We like that Vikings were brushed stainless. So, that fits with our current appliances. They have a nice, clean, sort of no-frills look. We got the ceramic top mostly because we dont have any venting in our house, and it would be a real rigamarole to put in. We would have preferred the gas range, but so far, the ceramic range is working really, really well for us. Its easy to clean and it looks nice all the time. It works like a champ, so were really tickled with it.The Vikings dealer was wonderful. Everybody was very knowledgeable, and they understood our specific constraints. Once we saw the Viking line, we really wanted to stay with it, and they were able to match us up with what we needed. We also purchased a Viking dishwasher at the same time and I registered both appliances. During the registration, there were a couple of numbers missing from serial numbers that didnt match up. That was a bit of a hassle, and I couldnt really complete the registration online without some help from tech support. But overall, Im very satisfied with Vikings.

In the company that I worked for, we use Viking Ranges a lot in the house remodels that we built. They are the ones that a lot of people favor. The installation process was simple. Also, I like the quality and everything. The only issue that we had was, when it arrived, the knobs were in the wrong spots. But they got fixed quickly. It happened right around Thanksgiving, too, when we installed the oven. We thought something was wrong with the oven. The homeowners spent Thanksgiving at their other house versus this one, because of the oven. They weren’t sure if the oven would work. I called Viking Marin. They specifically deal with Viking Ranges and appliances. I guess theyre a licensed Viking repair place, but they werent covered under the Viking warranty package. I had to call several other places, and that was a hassle.

Everything is great about our Viking refrigerator and I like it. However, it doesnt make enough ice and Im not happy with it. I talked to my brother-in-law who paid a lot more for whatever kind he has and he told me the same thing about his, so I guess its industry-wide. But it keeps my beer cold and thats all I care about. Overall, I had an excellent experience.

This is the worst refrigerator that Ive ever purchased. We ordered all of our Viking appliances while our kitchen was being remodeled. It arrived on February of this year, when our new kitchen remodel was finished. After delivery, I saw that the refrigerator doors were not parallel to each other. From then on I kept on calling them so they could fix it. They finally fixed it but then again the freezer started frosting very badly. So I called them again, after 2 weeks I received the new part and they finally came and installed a new part for freezer. So now my refrigerator started frosting again. I keep telling them that this refrigerator needs to be exchanged but they just keep sending me a technician to come fix it. They cant. I made a big mistake getting the Viking refrigerator.

Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldn’t happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. We just wanted to match it when I replaced the dishwasher and the refrigerator. They have a good brand name that’s supposed to be really good quality, but it isn’t. Im building a house in Malibu and I don’t think Ill get another Viking because of that experience.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

Ive had my first Viking Range for a year and a half. But it didn’t work properly so it had to be replaced. In fact, I had someone out five times try to repair it with no success. This started in November and it continued until the end of January until they replaced the range. After we got the replacement range, January 31st, it worked fine up until this past weekend and now, its not working. So, Im waiting for someone to come out again to fix it.But their customer service is terrible. When I first called back in November for my Viking Range, they said, Okay. Were going to hook you up with a service provider. Then they called me back and said, Oh, theres no service provider in your area that service. So I had to wait but no one ever got back to me saying that they found one. Then right before Thanksgiving, I got a phone call at 8:00 at night and it was a service provider who was running late at a job, but theyre coming over to look at my oven. I didnt even know anyone was coming but after the tech came, he said he was going to order the part. So, it should be in after Thanksgiving. I waited. On the following Monday, I called the service provider to see if the parts have come in. I didnt get a call back so I called again. Finally, they called me back after an hour. The tech said he didnt have my stuff because he wasnt in the office. So, he would call me back the next day. But no one called me back. This went on for about a week. And then finally they said, Were going to schedule service. They did schedule a certain day, but nobody showed up. I called again several times and finally, they said, All right. We can do it we think on Friday. This is a Friday. Im like, No. You think or you can? Oh, no. Were going to do it on Friday. Well call you in the morning and let you know exactly what time that theyll be there. Well, they never called me in the morning. So, by noon, I called Viking. The lady said, she was going to try to figure it out. Call me back. Well, I never heard from Viking, but I heard back from the service provider that they were going to send someone. When the person came, he was at my house for five hours and he was asking my 16-year old son to help him move the oven because he couldnt do it by himself. He took the whole oven apart and he said, after he had it all apart, Oh, they gave me the wrong part. So, he put the whole oven back together and obviously it didnt work. And hes telling me that hes not a licensed person. He was a student doing the boss of the company a favor. So I freaked out. I didnt want them back at my house so I called Viking again on a Monday. They assured me they were going to look into it, but I never heard back from them. Then finally, the company came. He said, All right. Listen, we ordered the right part. Can you please let us do the same process? Please let our company come back. Well fix it. We have the right part. We know where the part is located. At this point, I just want this fixed so, Im like, Fine. Come. He comes again. And after they supposedly fixed the part, it still didnt work. So, the guy left. I called Viking again, asking for a manager, someone to call me back. But no one ever called me back. I would keep getting new people and they would say, Oh, were going to add you to our list of people. Heres my contact number. But no one ever followed-up with me. And then in mid-December, they sent out a new service provider who looked into whats wrong with it. They then ordered the part and came back. They fixed it and the oven would stay hot, but the broiler still didnt work. It would turn on for 50 seconds and then shut off and never come back on. So I called back Viking to tell them its not working. They said they have to wait for the report from Mr. Appliance. So I called Mr. Appliance to tell them to send the report. They said they did and the lady said, You need a replacement range. But they dont want to replace it because its very expensive. So, finally after numerous attempts through Viking, I called one more time because the next time, I was going to call an attorney because this is insane. Its over six weeks that it hasnt been working since I initially made my first phone call and theyve sent people out four different times from two different companies. So, finally I got in touch with the lady who said that shes going to help me. She said that I was going to be getting a replacement. It finally came through at the end of January because they still had to order it. It was installed January 31st, but over Easter it, breaks again. An igniting problem. So the oven wont turn on at all. I have people over and Im not able to cook because the oven is not working. There are only so many things you can cook on top of the stove. So I called Viking. So since I bought my range, every holiday it does not work. I called every day from Monday to Wednesday and each day, nobody calls back. And this time, Im beyond frustrated. If this was a $300 range, I would have thrown it out already and bought another one. Im on the phone with this lady rep and Im desperately telling her, I already know exactly what youre going to say. Youre going to give me your direct number and its going to the escalation team. Someone will definitely call me back. I told her, Nobody calls me back, thats the thing. They dont call me. They dont email me. Nothing. Not were working on it. Just like dead. Nothing. She promised me that she would be different and so far she has. I told her that the regional manager never called me back. Ive asked, speak to him numerous t imes, No one ever called me back. So, she said, Hold on. Im going to call the escalation team or whoever sends out servicers. And I dont know what they told her because when she got back on the phone she said, I didnt like the answer they told me. So, Im going to take this to my supervisor, I promise Ill call you back. She did email me and her supervisor called me twice and they did have a service provider call me. And over the phone they tried to figure out what the problem is. Telling me to try to do different things. And they ordered the part that they think is the problem with this range. And now, Im waiting for it to come in. But still, no working range. These people except for the most recent lady that I spoke to, have no compassion, no understanding. I didnt buy a used one. And when you spent that money, you expect a higher quality of merchandise. Im a reasonable person, and I understand sometimes, things have flukes. But I cannot get over the horrendous customer service. So far the lady has lived up to what she said shes going to do. She responds to my email which is a plus because no one else ever did that. But at this point, would I ever buy a Viking again? Absolutely freaking not. And I wouldnt even want one for free. Because if something goes wrong with it, you cannot even get through to try to get it taken care of. That is the most aggravating part besides from it not working. I dont expect to snap my fingers and the service provider would be in my house. But with this range, even when I had the problems with the first one, I had to demand and get irate that I wanted a new one. After the second service provider came and it still didnt work, at that point they should have been like, Youve already been without an oven for six weeks now during the holidays. Youve missed Christmas, Thanksgiving and youre going to miss New Years at this point too. So, you know what? We are just going to send you a replacement. It was still another month after Christmas that I got my replacement. And I originally called Viking to complain about the issue, November 15th. So, from before November all the way until the end of January, no oven.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

I liked the way Viking Ranges look better than other competitors. I like my ranges quality a lot, but there are a few things I dont like. The top is very difficult to clean. There’s a bar on the top before the burners and it’s like a crevice. Theres no flat surface there because of that enclosure. Everything around the burners gets into those cracks. It’s in a really bad spot for the stainless and you have to clean it constantly, and the best thing to do is vacuum it up. Plus it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t make a smaller burner. They’re all the same size and if you had a really small pan, it could be difficult to use. Other than that, it cooks very well. I like the oven racks and the way they telescope out is good. I’ve cooked a lot in the oven and it stayed clean until I dumped a batter of egg thing in it. I slipped, but it was fine. Theres a learning curve though. You can’t just put it in and use it. You need to really read.

The freezer part on our Viking was working fine but the refrigerator part has got a sensor that is not working and we’re having our third service call on it today. We’ve only lived in this house for a month. Viking’s customer service has been okay but they are in Mississippi and it is another one of these 30-minute phone calls. The service people are actually not Viking employees. They are a contracted company and they have been very good. They diagnosed it the first time, had to order a part, put it in and it is still doing it, so they are coming back today to see if they can fix it. I got the impression from the service people that there was a known problem with this fridge because when they called, they said that their tech support people knew what it was right off the bat. So Viking might have a problem they need to fix. Viking is suboptimal.

New home with all stainless Viking appliances. Microwave great. Electric range, dont like the electric but good product. Refrigerator model RWFVRF1 with interior water system. This appliance has leaked since day 1. The water pooled in the bottom shelf of lower freezer section, iced up, and leak out onto floor often. Had appliance center come and put new drain tube in, which resolved this issue. The ice maker never made but a few cubes, and leaked within unit. The ice maker stopped working and now another $180 for repair. Now that we have ice, we have bigger leak problem onto floating wood floor, which now swelled and needs $1,600 repair. Really looking into replacing the fridge, but may need another Viking to match other appliances. UGH. Viking has been awful as to responding, nothing after trying to contact up to 28 times. They always refer you to appliance centers to fix - $$$ and still leaking. Maybe this is a fluke and the product is good, but not sure how to move forward here.

Where to start? Purchased in 2003. First time it was used temp went from 0 to 600 degrees. Damaged racks which they replaced. Nothing but problems. They kept sending Frick and Frack out to repair and they did more damage. I complained to Viking. I have all documentation. Last straw was when I did the self-cleaning on Super Bowl Sunday. It blew the circuit breakers and damaged the main control panel which we had to replace and we were without electricity for 14 hours. We have contacted Viking and they were going to review our case and get back to us--so far we havent heard from them. My husband faxed a long letter listing all the problems plus all the work orders. We want this oven out of our home. My husband said it is too dangerous to have in the house. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing our Viking Appliances. Do not buy Viking. Once they have your money--good bye.

We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that its not necessarily the best product on the market. Its just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.Even our renovator who installed it said, This is a really good oven, because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so its harder to clean. With Viking its so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and its done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and Ive never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but its a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that theres this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.

I must manually defrost a several thousand dollar machine every few months or the repair will cost $1100. Not happening. The refrigerator will only cool to 43 degrees Fahrenheit. I would replace it in less than 3 seconds but I paid to have it built in with cabinetry on the front which cost a ton. BUT there is almost no one to repair it. I am seriously thinking about trashing this one. Very disappointing. Since I bought it 12/31/2003 it has been repaired several times. I think I have spent enough repairing a BAD machine. Viking couldnt even get the cabinetry specs correct on the website. It has been a nightmare from day one. Model # DFBB363L Serial # G0000000582.

In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.

Our Viking Range is wonderful. We purchased it from Eastbank, and the people there were very good in terms of the installation and explaining all the features so that we can make an informed decision. I like the ease of cleaning it. When something bubbles or spills over the cooktop, its easy to clean it. There arent a lot of grooves where food can get stuck in. The only downside is that the oven has two knobs. One of them turns the oven and the other is for the temperature. Its a little counter-intuitive and not easy to see. Other than that, our experience has been very good.

I had a Wolf and a Sub-Zero. We moved from out of state and they have a Viking stove in the house. Ive heard some good things about the Viking. Since I have a Viking stove, I got the refrigerator as well. However, Im very disappointed with the refrigerator because it was only three months old and one of the blades of one of the fans inside was already broken and another fan wasnt hooked up in the bottom. I had water dripping from the door on my fourth floor. For a brand new refrigerator and for what we paid for, that was not acceptable. Our order, which was installed in Dec. 2016, included a 7 series propane cook top, 5 series oven, 3 series upgrade dish washer, 48 side by side refrigerator, and 950 cfm downdraft vent system. The washer has been the most disappointing appliance of the lot. It has less capacity inside than our previous Kenmore washer and weve had to replace the racks due to a binding problem. There is also an intermittent problem with the control panel on the washer. On the cook top, the small burner does not light reliably and the design of the cook top makes cleanup a real chore after every use. The performance of the cook top, oven, and refrigerator is great other than the problems mentioned.

We bought a brand-new house and the builder put all Viking appliances in it. We bought a brand-new refrigerator and two things went wrong with it. The fan in the freezer stopped working so everything was at 20 degrees instead of 0 degrees and things started getting soft. Also, one of the hinges of the door broke. We contacted the builder and he told us to call Viking, so we did. And then Viking gave us the local repair shop who came and fixed everything. Once everything was fixed, everything worked beautifully. We’re very happy with it.

We purchased a 30 Viking range. It is all gas. We have experienced extremely hot wall tile directly above grate that lines the back edge of range when gas oven is on. Water droplets run down the tile for first few minutes of preheating. I am worried to use the oven since tiles at back get very hot. I rarely use oven and we spent so much money to purchase Viking. Also there was a recall on a oven part and we had Viking service is already 3 times. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

I liked the look of the Viking brand. It has a really good reputation too. I had it in an old house of mine and I wanted to go back to it ‘cause I hadn’t had the best experience in between that with another brand that I had. The Viking range has great quality and it works well. I had one problem with it and Viking was right on it. They got someone over to fix a burner that wasn’t firing. Other than that, its been great.

I had always wanted a Viking range and so when I started looking at their stove and range, we just renovated our house and we had to get everything new. So we figured we would get the whole bundle from Viking. So far, so good. We bought our Viking refrigerator through a dealer called AJ Madison and our experience was fine. We dealt with it over the phone, and the rep answered a few questions for me over the phone. We’ve only had our Viking refrigerator for about a month but we like it. It works, and it gets my beer cold.

Our kitchen looked beautiful. Viking appliances look great but dont last. Bought a wall oven in 2006 and had it fixed twice and then had to replace it with a Maytag in 2012 because the self-cleaning option burned up so much of the electronics that it was cheaper to buy a new oven. Our microwave, also bought in 2006, has been repaired twice and now we are going to replace it because it needs to be repaired again. Our beverage refrigerator either freezes anything close to the sides or can only keep things above 40 degrees, nothing in between. The thermostat was replaced but it made no difference. We are now using it as a cabinet for extra housewares. Our dishwasher works GREAT since we only use it about five times/year. The oven door on our large 6 burner stove has never been level but it works well enough for my use. My calls to Viking have produced nothing but oh sorry, you are just out of warranty but here is your closest authorized repair shop. I will NEVER buy another Viking product and will not recommend them to anyone.

Vikings reputation stands out. Their price point was okay as well. We use the propane gas model. Their service has been good. We had a couple of bad items that came in with it, but they fixed it via third party. Ultimately they did everything they could. Viking sends out books that are probably inch-thick that tells us what to do. I think they’d be better off if they do a follow-up call with their clients to go over it and walk through since you spend $20,000 on a range.

We purchased all Viking appliances back in 2012. We had to throw out the dishwasher in 2015 when our service agreement was over because it was not worth the money to pay to keep fixing it. Updated on 12/23/2018: Viking contacted me a few weeks after I posted the below review in May 2017, and asked if they could send a local area authorized Viking repair technician to come out and look at my D-3 Dual-fuel 30 (RDSCD2305BIB), which I agreed to. The tech came out not long after, I explained all the problems and prior two service repairs by the store I purchased through (Abt), showed him pictures of a pizza I cooked (I included photos with original review), the bottom was still pale and not cooked, the top was almost burnt. He assessed the oven, made a phone call and determined what parts needed to be replaced, including part for the burners, which spontaneously adjust the flames on occasion. He put the order in, but was not completely sure this would fix the problems. I waited several weeks until parts came in and technician came back.I was hopeful on this 3rd time fixing on an expensive oven, but to no avail. The oven temperatures are still not regulating correctly, they dont hold or get too hot, takes far too long to heat up, and still doesnt cook/bake food properly. My most recent baking fail was a homemade apple pie I made for Thanksgiving, a pie Ive made many times in many ovens with no issues. I followed my normal process, but within the first 20 minutes the top crust was starting to burn, so I covered with foil and kept baking because the rest and bottom still needing more time. When it was time to take out, it was a disaster, it wasnt an apple pie, it had cooked it into an APPLESAUCE pie! Ive never had this happen before, there was nothing salvageable and ended up in the garbage. This range is terrible and a complete waste of money, Im so disappointed since Viking used to be a quality brand, in hindsight I wish I had bought something different, Im glad I didnt buy Viking for my other appliances. Everyone I tell whats been happening says Viking should have replaced with a new unit by now.I will say again, I will never buy another Viking product again or recommend. I feel that I have been patient and trying to work through these problems, I enjoy cooking and baking, but not with this oven, its too frustrating and irritating, but I cant justify spending money to buy a new, different oven.Original Review: I did a kitchen gut renovation in 2013 with all new appliances. I wanted to do a dual-fuel because I read those were better for cooking. I researched a lot of options. At the time when I was shopping in 2012, the Viking D3 was still kind of new, but I didnt see any negative reviews and I always had heard Viking was a good brand. I proceeded to purchase the D3 dual-fuel 30 range in a color that is no longer an option and matching hood to coordinate with a color scheme in my kitchen (pop of color) and I dont like stainless, the range was $3400 and the hood $2000. The reputable company I ordered this through and who did the install, had a tech come out to make sure the ventilation parts were installed correctly on the hood, all was good. The range and hood were installed in 2013 and all seemed fine. Not long after, I was cooking something in the oven and the bottom was not cooked properly. I later cooked some pizzas, all them came out with the underside almost raw (pale colored too), but the top cooked fine. I called the company who I ordered through, technician came out and said the Molex(?) part had not been connected at the warehouse. It was still covered under warranty. Keep cooking things and still the same issues. I cooked a pizza once directly on the bottom rack, the underside should have been almost charred, but it was mostly uncooked, the topside was almost burnt (pictures shown).Called again (May 2015) and said it must be something with the cooking element and will order a new part, of which they called me back to say Viking told them the part would not be available until August, 3 months?! I felt that was unacceptable and emailed Viking directly telling them it was ridiculous I had to wait that long for a part when given how much I spent on this range and it doesnt cook properly, Viking rep apologized and shortly thereafter the part arrived in about 2-3 weeks.I also in this time experienced an issue with the vent hood, I was cooking something that kicked up smoke, I turned on the hood and the smoke curled around the hood not into it, I ended up having to open windows to air out kitchen. The technician came out, installed the new part, I told him about the vent hood, said all looked hooked up correctly and I told him what we had to do before installation, he subsequently called Viking who had no answers for him.So the new part was installed and it has made no difference at all. I have a separate temperature gauge for the oven and it never heats to the proper temperature, food doesnt cook properly, I have to monitor it closely. I have to heat the oven at least 30 minutes or more and theres no indicator of when its ready, the blue light on the front is useless except to tell me the oven is on. Once I was cooking something that needed to be cooked at 450(F), after 30 minutes I opened the oven and the gauge said it was over 525-degrees. The gas burners are average, they never seem to be at the correct level according to the dial, and the flames adjust themselves at times. I havent even tried the broil or convection options, too concerned what might happen. It has been extremely frustrating and not pleasurable cooking with this range as its so unpredictable, doesnt cook/bake foods properly. Ive spent all this money for something that looks pretty, and a total waste of $, I truly regret buying it and would never buy another Viking product or recommend it to others. People come into my kitchen and say what a pretty oven and cool color, which I tell them yes its pretty, but its a piece of crap. My other appliances (Whirlpool and GE) have been working great since I bought them through same vendor, no servicing since buying in 2013. I had better cooking experiences on my old, cheap all electric oven, even the cheap one before that, which was 20 years old. Of course the Viking range is out of warranty now and Im stuck with this hunk of junk and based on what Ive heard of Viking customer service and reviews, I dont expect them to be much help. They should replace it. I see they are still selling these models, but are just calling it the Series 3. I cant justify spending the money buying a new range and hood. Its an oven, it shouldnt be that complicated to manufacture something that works properly for that kind of money.

Our house came with Viking appliances. The refrigerator/freezer VCSB423SS started thawing food in the freezer. The Viking authorized repairman diagnosed the problem as a floating restriction and quoted us $4,000 to decontaminate each unit that uses freon (evaporator, heat expander, etc.). The first range, a 36 open burner and the range hood, have been fine for 12 years. Surviving a move to a new house even. The dishwasher purchased at the same time started badly staining glassware & silver after a couple years. Viking said it was crappy dishwasher soap (phosphates removed) but the Bosch at our ranch did fine. Limeaway removed the staining temporarily. Inspected the racks and found the plastic coating cracked exposing the carbon wire core which was rusting. Viking said theyd happily sell me new racks for $450. Compared it to a neighbors dishwashers, found it to be an Asko. Racks were less than half Vikings. Very Funny. 30 open burner gas stove at ranch would not light/stay lit. Viking said likely master propane regulator was bad (but fireplace & Rannai water heater worked fine). Third-party repair person specified by Viking found range regulator out of limit, requested replacement. A month later, no regulator after many calls. I built a water manometer, adjusted Viking regulator to spec, range worked fine. Then noticed when range top leveled, triangular gaps between range & counter face. Adjusting feet to plumb range sides with counter made range top 1/2 bubble off. Viking said floor not level (it was fine). Problem was range not square, back had been screwed on with sides not plumb. Called third party repair person, he said call somebody else. Viking hadnt paid him for diagnosing the regulator problem. Removed back, squared stove, replaced back (new screw holes required), problem solved. BBQ looked massively professional but cast-iron burners holes continually rusted shut, had to be reamed twice a year. Porcelainized sheet iron flame diffusers and grates didnt last two years (their new ones are stainless), found SS burners, diffusers & grates on the internet for 1/4 Vikings prices. Drip-drawer plastic (!), rollers melted immediately, replaced with SS. Moral: Great appearance, great brochures, celebrity endorsements (paid, most likely), a generous retail mark-up (probably) encourages dealer loyalty and dealer omission of known crappy quality control, crappy build details and total absence of warranty service discharge. Wouldnt buy anything Viking again...

Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

When I decided to redo my kitchen, I decided to go with Viking Refrigerators to try it out. I also bought Viking range, French door oven, dishwasher. I had the fridge installed and then I had a new cabinet put in and being a first time Viking Refrigerators owner I was very disappointed when the installers pulled it away from the wall and it bent the feet underneath. We did not know it needed to be lowered. Even the contractors who do kitchens all the time did not know that it had to be lowered first.I haven’t used my refrigerator in a month. I got a brand new kitchen but I can’t use the fridge because I’m trying to determine how to get this thing fixed. I called Viking Refrigerators, they referred me to a place called High End Appliances. I called them, they came out, looked at it, and when they gave me the estimate. They were saying it was going to cost like $1,500 to fix it and the Viking Refrigerator was $10,000. I was going to call Viking Refrigerators and share with them the situation in detail. Supposedly the issue was not a manufactures defect. I don’t understand why it can’t be a part of that warranty but as far as the Viking Refrigerators repair person says through High End Appliances, it could not be covered unto warranty. I think that the customer needs to know more specifically that it if a heavy duty item ever needs to be removed it will have to be lowered, because I paid for installation through BestBuy. They put it in and they knew that I was going to get my kitchen remodeled but who was going to tell me to make sure to lower it when I move it.For a major appliance like that that costs $10,000 I would expect that there should be something in writing if this item ever needs to be removed. I think there needs to be something very bold and written so that this won’t happen to someone else again. I don’t know if that should be something that was made apparent to Viking Refrigerators owners not to move this 48 inch cabinet type fridge unless you first have it professionally lowered. It’s not normal so it was a little frustrating.

I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

When we remodeled our kitchen we purchased all Viking appliances -- BIG MISTAKE! From day one the refrigerator leaked water out the freezer. Soon thereafter the seal had to be replaced. The motor failed and we lost hundreds of dollars of food. And the open door alarm went berserk and kept beeping even with the door shut for 6 days straight (day and night) until the repair guy finally came to turn it off. The oven has been through 3 electronic boxes and the burner lighters go bad every few months. As for the dishwasher... we have had the motor replaced once, the pump replaced twice. The water fill thingy (not sure what its called) replaced twice and three leaks from the bottom fixed. I was choosing between a Wolf or a Viking and at that time, Viking was having a rebate so I went with them. I like that it was made in America and have the stickers on it but the quality is horrible. On Thanksgiving day, it caught on fire. The conduction oven doesnt work and the regulator for the gas has had to be adjusted three times. The product is a total lemon. Im working with the supplier who says hes working on my behalf with Viking and I am going to go to every review site I can find and post if they dont do something to remedy this $5,000 stove that I invested in. Prior to when I first built my house, I bought good appliances and I was hoping that this Viking would be even better and this would be the last range that I would have to purchase, being of the quality. But every time I bake, it rattles the vent or fan but theyve tried taping it.My husband and I are so disappointed. We made this decision together. I cook all the time and it doesnt even completely work. It caught on fire because they didnt connect it to the gas thing properly. It wasnt a plumbers fault. They didnt make the stove correctly so I am upset. Its documented through the repair person including the type of visits. I even had a plumber come and look at it separately from the repair person. Even the repair person said Viking is not very good at standing by their equipment once we get it. And thats from the person whos selling it in his store. Unfortunately, Im all the way in Hawaii so I realize they dont want to pay shipping. I had a KitchenAid prior to this and I didnt want an electronic motherboard. That was another big decision maker, cause its very humid in Hawaii. In Vikng, the knobs are on the front so I felt its a better investment cause in the long run the motherboards breakdown. Also, theyve had to move the range in and out and its gotten scratched, not because of anything Ive done. The racks are now uneven inside of it because the repair guy has had to take them in and out so many times. My husbands tried fixing it himself but the only thing thing that works properly are the burners on the top and thats it. Everything else is wrong. Ive had to call Viking when it first caught on fire. Its still under warranty but it is only good for so far. And in the first three months, this thing has had four repairs and thats not right. They should try to work with me and replace it. But theres been no contact and no accountability.

Every Viking appliance we own has had some issue that always cost a few hundred dollars. First, it was the dishwasher that had to end up being replaced. We have experienced the igniter issue on the stove so now we just keep a lighter nearby. Today, the oven just stopped working. The quality and customer service from Viking is the poorest I have ever dealt with. How are they still in business? I am totally dissatisfied and always tell everyone I know to absolutely stay away from Viking unless you like headaches, frustration, poor customer service, horrible parts, availability, and etc. With all the money you will spend on service calls, you are better off replacing the appliance to cut your losses.

I am very disappointed with Viking. I purchased a Viking Dishwasher (Model VDB450SS, Serial No. 081910D00018347) for my home and subsequently registered the product. I was never notified of a fire hazard recall on my unit (Recall date: April 10, 2012; Recall number: **) which states [c]onsumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers and contact Vikings hotline for a free in-home repair. I discovered the recall on or about January 25, 2016, when my units electrical circuit ceased operation and I inquired about service. Thankfully no fire. I called the recall hotline, (800) 241-7239, was assigned Customer ID No. **, and was promised a repair kit would be delivered to my home within 15 business days. On March 1, 2016, I call back to the hotline to report that the repair kit still had not arrived, and I was advised that the issue was escalated and that another kit would be sent because they could not trace the 1st one. On March 24, 2016, I again called the hotline because no repair kit has been received. I was told that the company answering the hotline reported the matter to Viking and while I was placed on hold, they tried without success to reach Viking. I left my cell number and demanded a call back. The failure of Viking to timely address the recall is unacceptable. My family of 4 has been without a dishwasher for 2 months now.

I had a Viking refrigeration unit close to 15 years. But it crapped out and it was gonna cost $2,500 to fix it. The cabinetry that I have was all set to the same size of a Viking refrigerator and I didn’t wanna pull out the cabinetry that I have built around it. The showroom also had a Viking refrigerator that I was able to buy off the floor model that they were willing to sell me because I got my first Viking there so they gave me a discount on it. Its lighting is a lot better than the old one, but Im very concerned when I bought it. I bought it from Holloways and they told me that I would get the standard guarantees if anything was to go wrong. Its like buying a new product off of the floor. But the refrigerator wasn’t working in the store and it was just set up there. I thought I was buying a model where I get the same guarantees. After I registered the product with Viking, I was told by their customer service people that my refrigerator was out of warranty because it was on the floor for five years. If Viking was such a great company and had superior products, they would give me the same guarantee as a new refrigerator. Im stuck with this model now and they will not back up a product that was brand new to me for more than 90 days. My experience with them, whether I get a guarantee or not, made me become turned off with the company 100%. I would not buy and recommend a Viking.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

Viking Ranges is all over and I know it’s a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, I’ve never had a gas oven so I’m happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldn’t get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.

Since day one, I have had problems with both units. Refrigerator back wall freezes up and is leaking water. My shelves are constantly filled with water. The door squeaks like its 100 years old! And all the shelve clips came in broken! I had the unit serviced many times until PC Richards said theyd get me new units. The freezer is a big problem too. Ice maker works when it wants to! For a while, I was buying ice because it wasnt making ice! Its been 7 months and Im still dealing with these defective units! I had a subzero unit and never had a day of problems, but because of my size issue (we changed the configuration of my kitchen), Viking seemed to be the best fit! Boy was I wrong!!!! NEVER buy VIKING products...... Might I add PC Richards customer service is terrible too! They do not stand behind their customers. Getting a big run around from them too! To date, still waiting for the swap. Its only been 10 months since I had them installed and when the problems started!

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

I purchased a new home with a Viking VWH3648SS professional style residenti
I purchased a new home with a Viking VWH3648SS professional style residential range hood to accompany the Viking Range that was installed below. It is fitted with a 1200CFM in-line blower. The package cost close to $2500 new. We use our kitchen daily for a family of 4. At the 8 year point, the lighting control knob began to loosen. Eventually, we called an authorized Viking Service provider called, Mr. Appliance They sent out a repairman who worked on the hood and seemed to have repaired the problem. But within three or four weeks, the knob came loose again. We called and the head honcho from Mr. Appliance came to fix the problem. We thought that was the end. Fast forward 5 years later and the knob loosens again. Not wanting to spend another several hundred dollars, I decided to address the problem myself. As an degreed engineer, I am not one to avoid a technical challenge.I pulled the hood switch panel apart only to discover that the switch had been tie wrapped into place. Over the years, heat, vibration and usage caused the tie wrap to stretch. The proper way to have made the repair was to remove the switch face plate which is held in place by the fan, lights and heating lamp rocker switches (spring clips). This provides access to an underlying nut plate to which the control should have been mounted using a 1/2 inch nut. In the process of disassembly, I discovered that the control thread, made of nylon or plastic, had been stripped which might explain why a tie wrap had been used. I ordered a new part for $58 and mounted it correctly, adding a lock nut to the assembly. But thats not the biggest problem. Upon disassembling the hood, I discovered inaccessible areas to be caked with grease so thick that it took a scraper to remove. This grease was checked separately as being flammable. The recess areas and sockets where hot halogen light and heat bulbs sit was particularly thick with burned grease. There were pools of liquid and solid grease in inaccessible areas of the hood that if ignited during a pan fire or electrical fire would provide fuel to burn the surrounding wood cabinets, the drywall and the exposed studs behind the hood covering. Mind you, these areas are not normally accessible for cleaning by a consumer. In my attempt to clean and repair this poorly constructed product, I was exposed to razor sharp sheet metal edges and burrs which had not been properly or safely machined during the manufacturing process. Particularly dangerous is the access holes surrounding the range hood lights where a consumer might attempt to clean only to be cut in the process. There are dozens of complaints in various internet review sites that complain about this issue in consumer accessible parts like the filter elements. Any machine shop professional will tell you that Viking Range has used improper technique in their manufacturing process which expose service people to the possibility of serious cuts.A call to Viking Range customer service resulted in the answer: We dont recommend that consumers access these areas and any tampering will void the warranty. Of course, the warranty is long expired. There didnt seem to be any concern (or understanding) by the Viking Range person of the dangerous design that Viking Range has released to the market.I have video taped my work and after I have a chance to edit the raw material, I will post the shocking videos and will be sending a copy to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) for recall consideration. This range hood is a fire danger and a health hazard that should be addressed with the thousands of customers who unknowingly have installed this product.I would love to see responses from authorized (or freelance) service personnel with opinions on these issues. By the way, the Viking Range VGRC365-6BD commercial grade open burner gas range that accompanies this hood is just as poorly constructed with dangerous sharp edges. It is a nightmare to clean. Never again a Viking Range product.

We were doing a high-end kitchen renovation and there were only a few brands that were built in and have the look and were a 30-inch refrigerator column. We’ve dealt with a small appliance shop in the past that our contractor recommended. Its a family-owned business so we were quite comfortable there and got great information. They treated us well at that store and we had experience with them previously on another renovation. I wanted to buy the Viking refrigerator because it has the technology to help remove odors where the Thermador we were looking at did not. And it holds everything I needed to hold. But we’ve had a second service call for the refrigerator, so were a little uneasy right now.Theres been water leaking into the bottom of the refrigerator, so the tech came out about a month or two ago, and he found something that was wrong and fixed it. And then, they were out again today because it didnt stop leaking water. It was coming in from a different place now, so were waiting on Viking technical services to respond back to us and the appliance repair guys.Getting service is easy. We havent had to wait very long to get appointments when we’ve called. We had vacation in the middle, so we had to wait a little to get the second call put in. But theyve been good on customer service. When I called Viking customer service, it was really good. I emailed them because I was too busy to call and it took several days for them to get back. But then, they dispatched the repair people pretty quickly. The local repair service that is authorized is good so far. They even came into the newly renovated kitchen and looked around at all of the appliances and told us they could work on all of it. Theyve been pleasant and quick to show up, and easy to schedule.

I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.It would be nice if the knobs didn’t stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges don’t all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.

I do a lot of work in Buckhead and different areas seem to have a Viking equipment. It’s something that I liked, the looks and the quality, so I pursued it on my own and bought the equipment. Upscale equipment has always been nice. It doesn’t matter what company, everybody is going to have a problem at some point. But having Viking distributor just about a mile away works out good for me. However, the door on the freezer and door on the refrigerator does not match. The finish on the door is totally different from the cooler. Otherwise, it’s a superb product. I got a good feedback on it so it’s a great and nice looking product with the exception of just a few hiccups. My favorite feature is the dual-fuel oven. Overall, I’m happy with the product and my wife is enjoying it. My brother’s purchasing an equipment too so I’ll surely get him into it as well.

I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!

My husband bought the Viking dishwasher and he wanted a matching appliance. We did the purchasing through ABT and they’re great. We think that Viking is a good brand and it looks nice. We got the French doors and set it side by side, like our old KitchenAid which was there when we bought the house. Our Viking refrigerator is fine, but the clips that hold down the racks in the freezer keep coming off from day one when we havent had it for very long, six months at most. ABT came out last week but they never did anything about the clips. So I told my husband to make sure to ask them about it when they come back out. We’ve called ABT to have that corrected. Were waiting for them to call back.Theres also one minor thing. Most refrigerators have feet you can adjust if it needs to go up or down an inch. Viking doesnt have that. We have a two-inch gap at the top of the refrigerator, between the old cabinets and refrigerator. They were able to adjust the KitchenAid to go up to it and with the Viking, you can’t. But I liked the style of the French doors and those big shelves and big, perfect trays.

Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it
A Viking refrigerator was already installed in our house when we bought it about five years ago. The refrigerator was built-in and custom-made for the area. And then, the freezer is separate from the actual refrigerator so its got two separate doors. Though very expensive, Viking is a good quality refrigerator. In the last couple of months however, all of a sudden, our refrigerators cooling was not being controlled by the digital display. Its not working even if we tried to actually increase the cooling. So, the technician came in and put in some gas as a refrigerant. And then, he told us to monitor it for another week and if everything will be fine, it’ll remain fine. If not, there’s apparently a small leak somewhere. And then he also told us what it would take to replace the refrigerator if needed or if the same refrigerator has to be replaced with the parts.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

We purchased high end appliances for several years for the different homes
We purchased high end appliances for several years for the different homes and construction projects that we’ve had. And though we haven’t purchased a Viking product before, it was always under consideration. We have a Canadian log home and the people that built it had put those contractor grade appliances in, and we wanted to replace them with high end appliances. We decided to go with Viking Professional. This was the first time we’ve purchased a Viking and they had this thing where I could buy a refrigerator and get a dishwasher. However, if we had to do it over again, I don’t think we would purchase the Viking because its not as good a quality as the Thermador that we’ve had or the Sub-Zero.I’ve got a column Thermador refrigerator and freezer in our other home and the seal on it is phenomenal. If I shut it and I reopen it right away, I can hardly even open it. The seal is so good. I also have a Frigidaire and sometimes I have a hard time opening it too. The seal is so good as well. The seal on the Viking unit, on the other hand, is not that good. When I opened it today, there was condensation on the outside of it and I had to wipe it off. We didn’t even have our air conditioning on and it was only 77 degrees outside. I do like the lower freezer but for a high end unit, I find that a little disconcerting. I think I needed a service call. There is something wrong and this is brand new. It’s even noisier than my Thermador. My Viking unit is the built-in type but I haven’t gotten the cabinet built around it yet, so I was hoping the unit would be quieter once the cabinet is built. We bought a Viking Refrigerator, a Viking built-in oven, a Viking microwave and the dishwasher. And I already had to call about the dishwasher because the bottom rack broke. It’s noisy and the top doesn’t glide in and out very well. A Viking representative came out and he said that is pretty much the way the Viking dishwashers work. Every one of them, you have to push really hard to get that top rack in. But my Thermador is not like that, so I would not recommend Viking. I hate to say that because I was really excited about it. When I run my Thermador dishwasher, I never know it’s on. But when I run my Viking dishwasher, I can hear it running. We paid a lot of money for it and I’m not happy with it at all.

Viking has been a long-standing name. I’ve remodeled my kitchen and Viking is one of the models that we looked to buy, and we ended up purchasing the whole package, including the dishwasher, fridge, stove, the 36-inch. We love the stove and the dishwasher. We are having a slight issue with the stove, and we’re waiting for a call back from somebody to come and take a look at it. The refrigeration, as far as how cold it is, it’s been great. Our initial experience was not good though. The refrigerator came with a big wave, a number of waves, and not really dents. The initial response to my request was kind of flawed a little bit, and I didn’t know if that was so much at the manufacturer or it was the person the we purchased it from or the company we purchased it from.Viking said they would replace the door and I said it was not just a door and it was three doors. After some photos and back and forth, it was eventually replaced. So, I’m happy. I love the style and design. On each side of the door, there’s a lower part for drinks. It pivots and it kind of goes in and out a tiny bit. There’s a shelf that you can lean towards you, and I think it’s for small drinks. I just think that could be a tiny bit bigger. I do like the shelf and we didn’t even know it existed. I didn’t read the whole book when I got it. And you can tuck the one-half of the shelf back so you could fit a taller bottle in there. We have started using that. That’s a nice feature.

We purchase all Viking kitchen appliances. Every item ref, range, dishwasher and latest microwave had immediate service issues. We have still to get a working microwave now - seven months and still waiting. Do not consider Viking in your remodeling. The appliance only look good... absolute junk with a service department ready to say nothing and do nothing. Save yourselves the nightmare, buy anything else.

Viking refrigerator was the only stand-alone of the professional grade cooking equipment that was in the Warehouse Discount Center, an outlet for appliances. The guys there were great. Quality-wise, we love our Viking refrigerator but they can make the ice maker bigger.

The Viking Refrigerator that I got is great. Its everything I thought it would be. I like the bright lights, being able to change the configuration that it has. I like the more solid material. There is one thing I wish they did have that is not there, and thats a filter for the water that goes to the ice. Cause typically the water connections are behind it, and since this is built-in, its not like a regular fridge where you can pull it out and then change the filter. I had to run a line from my reverse osmosis system to go to the back, even though theres a water connection with the spigot built into my house behind it. But everything else has been great. Were pretty happy with it. It looks great and performs really well.

Im writing this letter in hopes that you can help me with a continuous issue I have had with your 36 Viking Stove. My wife and I purchased a new home in 2008, at which point we decided to renovate our kitchen. When we purchased our appliances, there was no doubt in our minds we wanted a Viking Professional range and oven. We were excited and happy with our appliance for a short time until we began to use it. Over the course of 3 years, we have had nothing but constant troubles with the oven. First the igniter went twice, then the thermostat, then a defect with the range top. We have had several Viking repair visits, each costing $300 or higher. When we made the decision to buy Viking, it was with the thought in mind that paying a little more meant getting better quality, craftsmanship and dependability. Unfortunately, this has been far from the reality we have experienced. Most recently we replaced the thermostat for the baking function and the oven doesnt heat up.Needless to say, three weeks before Thanksgiving, we find ourselves with yet another service call and Im sure more costly repairs. I have done extensive research on the Internet and various consumer affairs sites and found that there has been a groundswell of complaints with your ovens. Frequent mention of inconsistent bake temperature, issues with your igniter system and thermostats lead me to believe there is a known set of defects with your product and this particular model. To that end I am asking that you stand by your product and replace the oven. An investment of $6000 should not require a constant stream of maintenance for a product that should bring with it quality and dependability. Rather than spend time posting disparaging complaints on various consumer products sites. I am asking that you address the issue I have had with your oven so I can get the quality and craftsmanship I expect.I am reaching out for your help after multiple calls to your call center and ask for someone to contact me immediately. I will pursue this issue further and if necessary rally the countless people I have seen voice concern with the range product you offer and have sold. The information for my range is Model: VGSC3676BSS, Serial #: 081108C00053266

I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

Bought an induction range from Viking in 2007... terrible experience... Actually I think they replaced some parts that were within the warranty period, with some persuading, but after the third time it broke in 4 years we decided just to throw it away and get a conventional range.

Weve had Viking before so we decided we want to have Viking again when we moved. We bought the Viking refrigerator and the gas stove. When we had a problem, it was taken cared of and weve always been satisfied. We had a little bad luck with the refrigerator because at first it had a dent in the door so it was returned. The ice maker, light, freezer, and the fan continue running on the second one so that was returned again. Weve got our third one since June the 26th and its now working great.

I own Viking Professional cooktop, microwave, double oven and refrigerator with bottom freezer and love all of them. The cooktop is the best 4 burner that I have ever had and the oven bakes everything perfect. The refrigerator had only one problem and that was a recall, on the door hinge which was replaced. I have had them in the home since 2005.

When we bought a house seven years ago, the builder had a Viking range in the house and I fell in love with it. We got flooded in August of last year so we lost everything. In my mind, it was only going to be replaced with either that or Thermador or one of those. So we went back to the store and then I looked online. I also went to their a showroom here in Houston in the gallery area and I fell in love with it again. I bought the exact same open-box range rather than a newer version because it just made sense for me. Its the dual where the ovens are electrical and then the top is gas. I love it. But when it was delivered to me, the knobs were all sticking out and they were not like that at the store. So I don’t know if it was in the process of getting to my house in the delivery process.I called Viking and they called their authorized dealer to come and repair it. They came right away and they told me they would take about a week or two to get in contact with Viking to get this thing fixed. That was right after Thanksgiving and I thought that by Christmas I would have it but I never heard from the folks. It was close to Christmas and I called them but there was no answer. So I texted the tech and he said that they were asking for the serial number and that without it, they won’t really send anything. It was the second or third week of January and I wasn’t at home when it got fixed. I came back home and two of the knobs were still loose. So I called the gentleman again and I had to stay in contact with him for another four weeks before it all got fixed.Their customer service was great and it’s not their fault but its terrible whoever their authorized dealers are. I hope Viking has another authorized dealer because if I ever need that stove to be serviced, I cannot go through that and chase that guy around. It was a very bad experience but I love my range and I love how it cooks. It cooks really fast, it’s very efficient, and the oven cooks evenly.

Viking was supposed to be a quality brand. Ive had the range for a year now
Viking was supposed to be a quality brand. Ive had the range for a year now and its not properly working. Ive had to have repairman after repairman in and out of my home and the problem is still not resolved 100% so its a bit of an issue. After nine months of not working properly, they decided to replace the whole range. And now, the parts that I had purchased that are supposed to fit the same year dont fit because a piece of it is warped. We finally got the other oven working because I didnt have both sides working for a whole year. And now that we finally got it working, the griddle that they replaced it with is warped. They had someone come out and look at it and it needed to be replaced. But Vikings saying that he didnt say that it was warped when I was standing right there and he did say it. They said that theyre not replacing it basically. So now, I have a warped griddle that I cant cover.I thought I was buying a luxury piece of equipment for my home and now its just been one thing after another and no ones been helpful. I havent heard from them for probably two to three weeks on what theyre going to do about the warped griddle so I just have another defective piece of whatever. It would be nice if I could go back and if they would refund me and I would purchase a completely different brand so that I could get some customer service.

Viking Ranges has been around for a while and we knew them for a long time. And we preferred Viking because of their reputation, style, and price. Their two-year warranty was also very attractive. We’re very happy with the quality of the range that we got and I really like that it has different size burners. The team at the dealership was great and they helped us out a lot.

I purchased a Viking range in 2007 and paid almost $5,000 for the unit. In November 2011, the oven stopped working. Mr. Appliance of New York City was recommended by Viking as the authorized service representative. Between November 2011 and June 2012, I have had 8 visits by Mr. Appliance. They replaced a thermostat control (twice), replaced the circuit board and still havent found the problem. Amount paid by that point was $670. At the 8th visit, they said the reason my oven wouldnt work was a broken oven door latch, broken (they said) during the self-clean cycle. Additional expected cost, $460, except I have never once used the self-clean cycle. It was most likely broken by the repairmen in their attempts to find the source of my problem. In dealing with Viking Customer Service, they didnt even bother to be charming. The people I spoke with were defensive, unsympathetic and unpleasant. Maybe they have had too many fed up customers and are tired of all of us. They simply told me to try another authorized service dealer in my area. Frankly, this is outrageous. I had expected more of a company that charges $5,000 for its products. The quality of the unit is low. The customer service was poor and the authorized service dealer (Mr. Appliance) is even worse. I will never ever buy another Viking product again, of any kind, and under no circumstances could I recommend Mr. Appliance of New York City. They do not have even basic competence.

We purchased all new Viking appliances for a new home we built. The Viking dishwasher has never worked properly since the day we bought it. I have had it serviced several times and the service agent suggested that we try to have it replaced since it didnt work. I tried to contact Viking by phone and spoke to Tim **, Kai ** and Brittany. I never received a callback. I then emailed their west coast general manager, Randy **, who did not even take the time to respond. They have an arrogant group of people working there who are not interested in satisfying their customer. I am going to trash this dishwasher and buy one for 1/4 the price that will work ten times better than this one. Viking has this great name in the industry when in fact, their products are terrible and they dont care about their customers.

Ive known about Viking for years and the choice for the purchase was a toss-up between a Viking and a Wolf but I liked the design of the Viking better. I was redoing my kitchen and I wanted something very attractive in there and yet functional. I did my hardware in brass and silver and the rim of the burner was stainless and I would love to be able to have a little bit more brass on the outside. I noticed some of the higher end range that had the controls on the front and handle and doesnt have a combination of the brass and the stainless. So, I went online this week to see whether or not there were parts that I could buy and swap out for mine. I really dont cook very much but I like the look. One thing that I dont like about the stove and the first time that Ive ever had a stove that was so high-powered is that whenever Im baking or cooking something that produces smoke and I have the oven on a higher temperature then I must put on the vent because it doesnt vent outside. I have to turn on this vent to get rid of it because its hot. Its very hot such that on the first time, it set off the alarms. To put on the vent is annoying and distracting. Either they make some quieter motors or a different ventilation system for the stove so that it vents from the top of the stove. I am dissatisfied with that one feature.
