The Viking refrigerator is fantastic. Works perfectly. However, I ordered an icemaker also. It turned out to be the wrong model. After we installed it, it didnt work either. So that was a big deal. The worst part was the trucking company that they use was absolutely horrible. I ordered it from Appliance Warehouse. They did anything they could to get the sale. But once they got my credit card, it went downhill from there.

I didn’t get my Viking range until March and a couple of months later, my kitchen light was always on. I realized the door wasnt closing properly, and so I called the person I bought it from and they said that within the first year, I have to go through a a service person. The tech came and had it fixed but I had to wait six weeks. Also, one of the four burners and the middle burner were not working, and the tech must have ordered parts for that too because he came to fix those. Theyre all resolved now and I’m happy that it’s working. I love the cooking quality level of the burners. We’re personally having a struggle ‘cause I need to get the range installed with a hood to vent it properly because it sets off my fire alarm. The person who installed said that I cannot use the clean setting ‘cause it would be too hot. I cleaned it out by hand, and then the person who came to fix it said that its not true. Within 20 minutes of using the clean setting, it set off my fire alarm again, even with a cover. There’s something about using it that it can’t do that. So, it’s on my to-do list to look into buying a hood. Otherwise, I love my Viking range.

We have had constant ice maker issues (constant tapping noise as ice maker has always had issues with ejecting ice) and now the button that ejects the water filter is broken. We love our professional Viking stove but this product (2017, 36 French Door) sucks! Plus dealing with customer No-Service with Viking is a waste of time in my opinion!

We purchased a house that had Viking appliances in it and our range had a little saga. We were happy with the original range until it had its issue with the handle. The front door with the handle and glass separated from the heavier thermal part of the door. It was under warranty but they couldnt supply a replacement part. It took many months before Viking finally agreed to replace the range but once they did, they did a really good job of coordinating. It was very unexpected to have an issue with the door, but they resolved to our satisfaction.

We’ve had a Viking range for 12 years. We compared Sub-Zero and Viking when we looked to replace our freezer and refrigerator. Viking was more affordable so we went with them. However, the quality is not the best. Our Sub-Zeros that we replaced were older models and they were built better back then than they are today for both. The temperature is not consistent and some of the settings arent correct. The freezer will go anywhere from 10 degrees above zero to 10 degrees below zero even set on a fairly high setting. It’s wasting a lot of energy. Overall, theyre very nice looking but Im not impressed with the quality, not for the price.

I already had a Viking oven so I wanted the appliances to match. I like the way the refrigerator looks and so far, the quality is good. The people I dealt with in sales didn’t have all the information I needed but they were fine. It was just because I had researched it and I knew a lot more about the fridge than they did. That aside, I would advise others to make sure their measurements are right when looking into Viking refrigerators.

We use it at home and we also love the convection oven. Working with the Viking Range is great and it makes you love cooking.

We purchased a Viking dishwasher, model FDW100, just over a year ago and it looks like we will be throwing it away. It does not wash or dry. I tripped the door switch to watch the washing action with the door open and there just isnt enough water pressure from the dishwasher pump to get the dishes clean. If you put a cup right-side-up on the top shelf it can barely fill the cup with water. We had two serviceman look at it and they say there is nothing wrong. They connect their tester and find no diagnostic codes so they say it is fine. I ask them if they check the water pressure from the pump and the answer is; No. We dont check that. (Water pressure is the only thing that washes) As far as drying, well it doesnt. The dishes are warm but not even close to dry. Im contributing the drying problem to the EPA forcing the Energy Star program onto manufacturers. How do you reduce energy cost on a dishwasher? Two ways. Reduce the pumps and reduce the electric heating cycle. I cannot recommend this model Viking dishwasher to anyone.

Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.

We saw Viking at the Hahn Appliance store and my wife specifically liked the style and look of it. The one we bought was the 48-inch and it had the ice and water in the door, and we had a small fire inside the freezer door because the wires melted together. We stood toe-to-toe with Viking ‘cause they just wanted to replace the part. I said to them that the freezer caught on fire so they should replace the refrigerator and they did. They were easy to work with. We got a new one replaced about a month ago but it does not have the water and ice in the door. Other than that, we’re very pleased with it.

Weve been using it for about a month now and so far, its good. The experience is absolutely great. Its pleasurable and hassle-free. Use of 48 inch range - The Cobalt blue range is beautiful. The burners and oven works very well. Two flaws (1) the large oven has three racks with only one that completely pulls out making it difficult to clean the back of the other two. Cooking a large turkey looks to be a problem. (2) The all gas range does not have a self cleaning option. We smell gas for a few minutes when the oven is turned on.

Weve had our Viking refrigerator for eighteen years. In that time weve had three service calls and one recall. Now the unit needs a complete new cooling system costing thousands of dollars. Realizing that the unit was way out of warranty, I called customer service anyway to see if they would a least share part of the repair cost with me. They were adamant that they would not. When I purchased the unit I fully expected that it would outlast the less expensive brands. An independent repairman suggested that it would be worthwhile to forego repair and buy another refrigerator, not a Viking as he considers them as expensive junk. I guess cost does not equal quality.

Weve had problems with every single appliance that weve purchased from Viking. The refrigerator has been making a weird noise. We had the guy come today to look at the noise and he couldnt figure it out. On the stove, two of the back burners would only light up partially and they take 10 seconds to fully light up. The guy looked at that too and cleaned some stuff up. The back burners are working a little bit faster but theyre still on the slow side. When we got our dishwasher, the motherboard was broken and we had to have a brand new one because when we turned it on, it would continuously run. The timer would not count down regardless of what cycle we put it on. Im not fully happy because of all the problems weve been having. But the problems have been addressed and looked at. Im a little worried that the two-year warranty isnt going to cover everything because of what weve already experienced.

I will never but another Viking appliance. Our Viking appliances are also 6 years old. We have $30,000 Viking appliances in our kitchen. They are six years old. Three years ago the refrigerator/freezer leaked water all over the hardwood floor, causing considerable damage. Last fall, our closed system failed (the compressor and entire cooling system - a repair costing more than $2000). At the time, Viking told me that a failed closed system is not unusual for the age of our refrigerator! It sounded ludicrous to me, but because that “piece of junk” matched everything else in my kitchen, I sucked it up and spent the money to repair the refrigerator. Then two weeks after the closed system was replaced, Viking sent notice about a hinge recall, claiming the door could fall off. I did not see anything wrong with my refrigerator door hinges, but I called Viking and was strongly urged to replace the door hinge. Immediately, after replacing the hinge there was a significant problem. Now, the door does not close properly. Lo and behold, six weeks later, at the end of 2011, Viking issued a second hinge recall and this time offered customers a reduced price of $4470 ($4100 plus tax) to buy a new Viking refrigerator. I contacted Viking’s customer service immediately because I wanted to know if Viking was willing to reduce the replacement cost of a new refrigerator to help compensate me for the major repair I just incurred. After 3 months of phone calls and emails waiting for Viking to respond to my request, I finally sat on hold for 20 minutes waiting for a customer service representative (I use this term loosely) who was authorized to help. I explained the fact that I was willing to replace my refrigerator if the cost was truly $4500; but since I just spent more than $2000 on repairs, this new replacement refrigerator would effectively cost me $6500. I asked if Viking would be willing to reduce the replacement cost in any way. I was told, No, the price you have is the price youll pay. I inquired why Viking had not made this replacement offer when my closed system failed before I sunk $2000 into this refrigerator just 3 months prior. I was told that was beside the point and I could take the offer or not, but there is nothing more Viking will do. I advise anyone and everyone who has not already made the purchase: dont buy Viking! This is a mediocre refrigerator, but their customer service is by far the worst and most insulting I have encountered. Yes, I will be buying a Sub-Zero to replace this piece of junk and use a front panel to match my other graphite grey appliances. Note: For others with graphite grey appliances, I have found an Italian laminate by Abet Laminati that matches perfectly (879 Colorpact-sei is thicker than the regular product). I have had a test door made up to be sure it is a perfect match.

Viking has been around for a while. We knew about the quality when we chose it. The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. I love my grill though, and I’m satisfied with my Viking range.

Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

Were happy with the range but the purchase experience was not without difficulties. Immediately after installation, three warranty service calls were necessary due to faulty wiring on the convection fan and broiler ignition failures. The issues were not due to shipping. The stove came with a list of quality control checks but obviously, the factory is hasty in final QC. Its a pity because the build and design are so nice. Checking its operation at the factory would have revealed the problems and saved everyone a lot of inconvenience.

The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, “Your refrigerator’s not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.” The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Dont waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

Viking is a high-end appliance which was in the price range that I wanted to spend on. So I spent $10,000 on a Viking refrigerator. However, its ice machine had not been working and Ive had to have it repaired three times in six months which doesnt make me happy though I didnt have to pay for the repairs. But I love the refrigerators look and quality, and its got beautiful lighting. Shelving is more than enough for me and my husband though it wasnt as big as I thought it was. I also had a wonderful time with the Viking dealer and they were absolutely helpful throughout that process of having to come fix it. It was an amenable experience.

We had a lot of problems with our old refrigerator. It was a nightmare so I didnt want to buy that same band. I wanted an American made refrigerator so I went through a whole lot of options. We owned other Viking appliances so we looked at them at a store. We bought the Viking ref from an appliance store in Minneapolis. They were very nice. They didnt scratch it during the delivery and the delivery guys were very friendly. There were no issues. The Viking ref is not a regular refrigerator. Its built in so it fits a very specific size and it matches the cupboard, so it cant be easily thrown away. You got to fix them. Another thing I really like about it is I installed it myself and bolted it into the wall. They gave me the directions and showed me where and how to bolt it into the wall. It has a lot of nice lighting. My wife noticed that it doesnt get any mold in it because it has an ozone generator so she doesnt have to sit and clean it up. That is the absolute best feature of the Viking ref. The old ref was always moldy and yucky inside and we hated it. There was no egg holder in the door of the Viking ref. They provided a closed egg container where one had to take it up the shelf, open the cover and take an egg out. That was just a pain. So I made really nice trays that sit in my doors. Viking might want to consider doing that because the other company did that. The ice maker tends to run too much ice that it overflows. When you open up the door it dumps the ice out into the cabinet. But that is little bit of a pain compared to my old refrigerator. Its interesting because its the same exact brand of ice maker my old ref uses. They should improve their icemaker because they buy it from the ice maker company. I hope that Viking is better, but I don’t hold that hope. The most important thing will be to determine how long it lasts without giving us any trouble. They were a good company. Were very happy with the refrigeration from Viking.

I have a built-in Monogram that I pulled out and died and I dont how to put one. I have spent that kind of money to put a built-in back in. Ive known Viking Refrigerators for a while then I saw it in the store. It met my needs. There was something damaged on it though and I was supposed to get another drawer and I didnt. I like that it keeps the vegetables fresh although this wonderful refrigerator does not have one of those little twist-in filters. Even the way its set up, you cant put an inline filter because its built-in and you cant get to it. Theres not enough room at the bottom.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

She’s the one that told us about Viking Ranges. Were very happy with Viking Ranges. We liked the look of the range. It was a very good one so we went with it. The person from Viking Ranges was very savvy. He knew exactly what he was talking about and he even compared the Viking to the Wolf and said they were very similar. Viking is a fantastic range. It cooks very evenly as opposed to the GE we had before. Also, my wife loves to bake with it. I would recommend Viking Ranges to everyone. I would tell them that it is worth the price you pay.

When we were trying to buy our house, we saw it came together with Viking products. A lot of people will buy it, so they installed the Viking products for us and they have high quality, but theyre not as good as we thought. The inside space of the refrigerator is okay. It has a special space for the drinks and that’s a good thing, but the refrigerator started having problems after half a year the house was built. The part started peeling off and we havent touched it a lot. After the person came here to fix the upper door and replace it for me, the lower door also had the same problems. I called them to two months ago and they havent sent anyone to fix it. The salesperson is the contact person if I need to contact another department to have the appointment with me to fix the refrigerator and do the next step, but the department never contacted me again and I can’t contact them directly to let them do it quickly. Also, I need to call them several times if I have problems with a Viking product.

We purchased our Viking DF Range in August of 2003. Our first problem surfaced during installation by Sun appliance in St Joseph, MI. The installer noticed that the surface grill grates were not manufactured level and would not set lever over the burners. They had to be reordered three times before we received one that lay flush. My thought was that a range costing almost $7,000.00 had such poor quality control that it left the factory with parts that were poorly manufactured. After several months of use, we noticed that the little rubber feet that fit on the bottom of the burner grates were falling out. I attempted to glue them but with no long term success. Out of frustration, I called Viking and was told I had to purchase a brand new grate at a cost of $35.00 plus shipping because they could not sell me this little piece of rubber worth no more than a $1.00. I finally found some on the internet in a Viking parts bag for $14.95 for 16 pieces. My opinion of Viking and my $7,000 range began to slip. A few years later the broiler element, PJ010002, went out at a cost of $299.00, including labor. Now, I am really getting upset. I had my choice of several other brands but chose Viking because of its perceived quality. The next surprise was in June of 2011 when the oven relay, part no. PM010129 burnt up filling the kitchen with a stinky smell. We had that part replace at a cost of $126.10. Now its only six months later and the same part burnt up again. I again called the Viking repair people at All Pro Appliance Service and was told the $35.00 part was covered under warranty but I would have to pay an $89.00 service call to have it repaired. I am very concerned now because I have a feeling its not a defective part but a problem with the stove. In searching this site and others, I have found several other Viking owners who have had the same oven relay problem. In summary, this is the worst appliance I have ever owned and would not recommend it to anyone. Shame on you Viking for such poor customer service and quality control!

The last one I had was a Viking Range. We had it for 18 years and it finally kept locking and wouldnt open so we couldnt keep it because it was really a nightmare. The company that sold me the oven at the store were responsive but they said they didnt service them. They gave me the numbers of some Viking dealers and nobody called me back. I kept contacting Viking directly and it took a long time. Finally I had to call the dealer back and say, “Look, you gotta help me here.” And they did. They found me somebody to service within the area. It was great but Viking itself is hard to access. They need to be more user-friendly. Getting treatment for the one that was broken and wouldn’t open was impossible. We got a new one because it was the only thing that fit into the space that we have on short notice because I was giving a party for about a hundred people. However, I wanted something that was easier to clean and the stove top is awkward to clean. Im getting to the point where I care less about aesthetics anymore but convenience.

Then it seems in the entire Northwest suburbs of Chicago, there is only ONE Viking authorized repair service. So you guessed it... they charge astronomical prices. Went to a highly peer-rated appliance repair service that was a lot less costly. Viking Range have had the reputation for quite a few years and we had looked at various ranges and Viking Range fall under the affordable price range. I expected the best quality from it when I bought it and its good because it didnt have a lot of electronics and would last me a lifetime, but our first range experience did not go so well. I was very disappointed its oven died after about a year and a half. I was glad I had an extended warranty on it because otherwise, it wouldnt have been covered at all and I wouldve been out the entire amount. But after nine service calls, it could not be repaired. Viking then replaced it with a new model because the model of our first range wasnt available anymore. Since then, the stove we have now has been working fine. Weve had it for about a year and a half now. The variety of the temperature using grade on it is the best about it. I can get down to a nice low simmer.

Poorly constructed. Gas ignition/temperature control does not work and has never worked. I purchased my range in 1997. Since then I have replaced the bi-metal gas valve 5 times and the two bake igniters 4 times and broiler igniter once. At present the right burner does not go on unless the gas valve is tapped manually with hammer or butt end of screw driver - so looks like the igniter or gas valve or both are no good again. Also, the oven door never closed evenly, leaking heat. It leaks enough heat to have burnt the exterior finish off the door. One of the oven door hinges has been broken for ever. The oven temperature is always inconsistent. The control knobs, since new have been loose with a lot of play in them. The oven floor is deformed/cracked from the heat of the burners. The wall panels are loose and sloppy and impact the sliding in and out of the racks. Viking does not offer, never has offered support, but rather will refer you to a service tech that does not understand how to get the gas range to operate properly. Dont buy it.

We purchased a gas 48 inch Viking, 6 burner, 1 griddle range from a Viking Range Certified Kitchen company. In the first 3 years, under warranty, it was serviced 3 times for overheating and shutting off after 40 minutes at 400+ degrees. After the warranty lapsed, we had a 4th service call with estimated parts and repair at (00 for hinges. We were told the hinges were not holding the door to create a strong enough seal within the oven and the heat fried the control module. We contacted Viking Range, who agreed the hinges were a manufacturing defect and replaced the hinges. Six months later, using the oven at 450 degrees for 30 minutes-- it shuts off and the ignition spark went off (sparking but not catching for about 30 minutes until we had to pull the huge oven away from the wall and unplug it). Another service call, another $900 to explain why the oven overheats-- this time saying the seal on the door isnt trapping heat and the heat is again reaching the control module. This oven is defective, we have never been able to use it above 450, which is why I bought it in the first place. It was a $9,000 stove with a $2000 vent hood and over $3000 has been spent in under 5 years to maintain it. Viking Range will not claim responsibility for what we know to clearly be a faulty unit.

My Viking range cooks great and very fast, too. Its a beautiful appliance however, I don’t believe theres a timer on this thing to time anything. I don’t like the fact that when I turn on the oven, theres a blue light that comes on but theres no signal that says when its gotten to the proper heat where the blue light goes out. And I have to be basically sitting on top of it to know the proper heat. Ive had other ovens that will beep when they’ve hit the right temperature. The other thing I don’t like is the ergonomics of it because I have to bend over to read the dials to see where theyre at because my particular range has a little bit of an overhang to it and the dials are underneath it. That’s a very minor thing but an important one to me.

I built a $163,000 kitchen and Viking is the least expensive product I have in this kitchen and absolutely the worst. The refrigerator Ive had since March still doesnt work. Everything went into the garage until it got its turn into the kitchen. A couple of weeks into it, every time I open it up, everything in the front seemed warm. I finally put an analog thermometer in there and it was reading 50 degrees. Overnight, it would cool down to about 45 and anything above 40 is spoilage.I called Best Buy and they gave me Vikings number because I didnt purchase their three-year warranty. It already had a warranty on it and I didnt think I needed it. I called Viking and they gave me the number to Lakeview who had an Illinois number. Two days later, I still cant get in touch with Lakeview so, I called Viking again and they got on the phone with them. Lakeview called me back and set up an appointment. They got here three or four days later and looked at it. Theyre in my house for an hour and determined that this piece has a faulty seal that was supposed to be replaced per Viking. They said it will be in a few weeks but a month went by and they didnt have the part. Finally, the piece comes in five weeks after this initial problem. I called Lakeview and told them their piece is here and for them to come put it in. They came in the next day and it was an Electrolux. It doesnt have anything to do with the refrigerator that I have and its the wrong part. This tech is on the line for an hour and a half with Viking and determined that my refrigerator doesnt need this kit after all. Its some thermostat, little plug-in thing and he said they have that in stock and it will be here in a week. A week goes by and I called Viking because I could never get in touch with Lakeview. They said that since they have so many problems, theyd like to offer me $150 and exchange my warranty for six months. I asked how they would do that and they said theyll get back to me but two days and there was nothing.I called Viking again and asked for the part and they said Lakeview decided to order a bunch of parts for a bunch of other customers in the same group as mine. Some of those parts are in and my part thats in stock is lumped up with a bunch of others that have broken Vikings. They finally decided to separate the shipment and in theory, the part was shipped to Lakeview but I still have not heard from anybody. Also, I asked about the $150 and the six-month warranty and they said I didnt send them a receipt. Nobody told me that and I was very clear that I spent $1,000 to purchase a refrigerator and shove it into the garage so I can have a refrigerator in Dallas, Texas, at 102 degrees. But Im going to get this part installed and I dont care about the $150 because they want me to prove that I bought a refrigerator. Instead of just offering something and giving it to me, they put these little strings attached to it. Also, Im going to turn them in to the Business Bureau. Im going to light up Best Buy, Google everybody on the planet and tell them what Viking has done. Everything is the worst.

I bought an electric, five-burner convection since I live in a townhome and were not allowed to have gas. Ive had the range for about two months now and so far, everything has been excellent. My favorite feature of all time is the rack in the oven thats on hinges. You can pull it out completely without pulling it from the sides. You can extend the rack stand.

Viking 5 Burner Range- DOA. Delivered Good Friday and attempted to do the burn in Saturday evening. After many attempts to get the over to heat, we had to give up and use our toaster oven for Easter dinner. Viking has NO weekend support. On Monday I called and they determined it was DOA. We also had a new Sub Zero installed that same Friday. I decided to call them to see if they had support. They did. We returned the Viking and purchased a much nicer and substantially more expensive Wolf. I will never consider Viking.

We’ve had a Viking Range in our prior house for 12-15 years now, and I like that we could get their range with the eight burners but not have the griddle. I love their burners. However, the grates in the top plates on top of the burners are hard to keep clean. But besides that, I like it.

I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

We heard good things about the quality of Viking Refrigerators as we have friends that have the product. Also, Im the type that wants everything to match and be all from the same manufacturer. When we were redoing the kitchen and updating everything, we wanted to check out all of Vikings appliances. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and accommodating. We found a great bundle wherein if we got the refrigerator and the range, we would get a dishwasher that was deeply discounted or free. Since getting our Viking Refrigerator, Ive liked the control panel where I can separate my temperatures. However, there was a piece that wasnt allowing the bottom drawer to close. Within a day of calling to schedule the repair, someone was out to look at the refrigerator but then the part took over a month. Their guy came this morning and was repairing the piece. He said that the piece was not even necessary and it was a piece that could create the same problem later on. It feels like theres some flaw in that design. Nevertheless, the refrigerator is amazing and were happy.

Where I live, I dont have natural gas and there were very few of the electric ranges that had the counter drop-in look, and that drew me to Viking. And then, the handles and everything about the refrigerator matched it. The Viking team was great and were there to help. The refrigerator is fine. Im enjoying the French doors and not having an outside ice maker. When the door to the freezer had been left ajar and there was ice that built up on the side, I had a nice repairman come. Apparently, some of the ice got in but some of the ice got in a slide and I couldnt move the tray and I was afraid to force it. The young and friendly man fixed it and I was very pleased.

I went from electric to gas with the Viking range. Aside from wanting gas, I liked the looks of it and the knobs. Theyre big and theyre easy to use. I like the sliding rack too but they should have two of them in there and not just one. Also, when we got the range home, the convection oven did not work. I didnt know it for a while because I didnt use it. But Viking was really prompt about getting it taken care of and getting a man out here to fix it. Ive had it for a couple of months now and everything has been great so far. We also bought the microwave and the convection on it didnt work. Because Viking dropped the ball on that one, they just ordered us a new one and sent it out instead of having the microwave repaired. Theyve taken care of us really good.

However, its not so great so far because not only were the refrigerator shelves broken, I also get a lot of inconsistent temperatures inside. And everything freezes at the the top and bottom shelves. Things are going really bad. So, theres no good circulation of cool air. I sent an email to them a couple of months ago to see if they can send me a replacement but I dont have anything yet. I had a dishwasher that also broke down within a year. I had a lot of difficulty getting through to Viking. I was trying to tell them what happened. It took them a long time to understand when I called them. I asked them if they can just replace the dishwasher because Ive been waiting long to get it fixed. They sent me to the customer service but they couldnt understand what I was asking them to do. They were reaching out to the appliance repair guy when I was asking them to replace it in the first place. I had a very frustrating time. Thankfully its repaired now but it took them two months to get it fixed. I always thought Viking was a very good brand. Im very disappointed. Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

Being a homeowner for over 30 years, I have known Viking Refrigerator being a top brand. I was upgrading my entire kitchen and I wanted the top of the line. The refrigerator I got is great. There was a problem with the unit when it was delivered from a cosmetic perspective but Viking is fixing that. They were right on top of things, and the team at the dealership was great. I like the design of the refrigerator as well. I also purchased a Viking oven and a Viking dishwasher. However, my oven has had issues from the day it was delivered and Viking has not been helpful in getting those issues resolved. In less than 30 days I had two major issues. One is the convection motor and the heat does not work. When you put the oven on 400, it never gets past 300. Viking agreed to repair it and I asked why would they repair a unit that is less than 30 days old that has two major flaws to it? They would not replace it. That is pretty bad. The dishwasher, on the other hand, is great.

Viking has quality in its name and it was on sale at the store so I bought a stove that is a combination convection and a radiant oven. The quality of the construction is good and the oven works well, but the durability of the trim and details is poor. The grates have a little rubber piece that plugs into the bottom of it that separates from the range-top that it sits on and those have started falling out. I called Viking and they said that those were only covered by a 90-day warranty. I was pretty displeased about that. I talked to managers there and they wouldn’t stand behind their product so it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I thought that they needed to take this seriously. I was shocked by their willingness not to stand behind the three months when this company has such a good brand reputation. And no one seemed to really care about it. We’re on our second Viking refrigerator because the first one failed after approximately eight years. The newer refrigerator which we got last year is operating great. It has not had the same problems at this point but having to replace a Viking after eight years, Ive never had that kind of circumstance with any other refrigerator brand. There are some parts that get frozen then they start to melt and leak in the refrigerator. They dont go out to the drain. There is this freezing thawing process that is part of the regular refrigeration process but the pathway for the melting gets blocked up. It gets frozen too so the water accumulates in the bottom of the refrigerator. That had happened a couple of times.Ive had problems with a variety of Viking products from double ovens to the refrigerators. I have two homes and I have full suites of Viking appliances in both kitchens. I’ve not been thrilled with them. Viking is overrated. They have a cachet but their performance and reliability do not live up to that cachet. There are lesser prestige brands that perform better than Viking.

The Viking representative caught me off guard with offering a new refrigerator which is configured exactly the same with a new warranty at half the original price. My receipt from Sun Appliance shows we paid $4,490 on October 7, 2003. We are retired on a fixed income and feel this is unjustified. We feel we are caught between the eight ball. We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. I bake and cook so I went with the dual range. Im in heaven. I have never boiled water faster. Cooking takes half the time it did before. And in the 33 years that Ive made pies with my mom, this is the only oven Ive ever made a pie where in the crust did not have to be covered by foil or an aluminum ring. There are also seven different baking modes and Ive used all of them except for one. I love the versatility and the ease of use for the gas top as well. I like having the knobs on the front too cause I hated having to reach over what I was cooking and deal with the knobs at the top or the back. I also like that its very sleek and elegant looking. There are metal knobs and theres no stupid electronic display. Its impressive, it has a well thought out design and easy to clean, too. Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

I have some problems with the Viking Refrigerator that we got. The unit functions well, but I have problems in the way it is laid out. It seemed very stripped down. The crisper drawer is not divided, it is just one big drawer that is supposed to hold both fruit and vegetables. That was surprising. Fruits and vegetables require different temperatures and different humidities. There wasn’t any delicatessen or cheese drawer too. The fridge is also very high so that the taller shelves were not accessible. I called Viking to find out how I could better accessorize the refrigerator, and there didnt seem to be any answer to that and apparently, for this model, there are no Viking accessories available.

Up until it broke, I was quite happy with my Viking refrigerator. But it broke in November (the evaporator failed - still under warranty). A service company came, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part December 5. Today it is March 10. In February the appliance repair company called Viking and they were told the part would come in February 26 and that it would be sent out by overnight air when it arrived. February 26 came and went. No word.Yesterday I called Viking and spoke to a customer service rep who took my info and told me someone would call me back. No one called. Today I called and spoke to a different customer service rep and was told that there is no expected arrival time of these parts to the Viking factory. I was told some people are waiting 6 months or a year. Im sorry but I call BS on that.Heres the thing: This is a popular model of refrigerator. Clearly they must be getting these parts at the factory and installing them in new product to be sold while ignoring current customers like me. Not only is this bad business, I believe it is dishonest when they tell me that none of these parts have come in. Im kind of an in internet guy. This is the first review of this situation that I have left. There will be more. Viking is making a mistake. If they rectify it I will come back and modify this review. But dont hold your breath. And if you want your food cold, definitely consider what might happen if your Viking refrigerator stops working.

Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

I’m in construction and I have seen Viking Ranges in the supply houses. The quality of the range I received is good. The team that I dealt with at the Viking dealer was good as well. I knew what I was looking for, but they explained everything. I’m satisfied with my experience with Viking.

I liked the blue color offering of Viking Ranges and they werent as expensive as other ones. I knew exactly what I wanted, so purchasing it was easy once I found where to buy it. It was installed wrong though, so I had to have them come out. Once it was fixed, I love it. I like that it has two ovens but the racks slide almost too easily, and sometimes, they just kinda go in and out too fast. Sometimes, Im trying to grab it and forget that I need a hot pad but I have never burned myself.
