Scrape, Don't Pre-Rinse: Modern dishwashers are designed to handle food residue, so there's no need to pre-rinse dishes under running water. Scrape off excess food instead, and the dishwasher will do the rest.


Use Energy-Saving or Eco Mode: Many dishwashers come with an energy-saving mode or an eco mode. Opt for this setting as it uses less water and consumes less energy during the wash cycle.


Use the Delay Start Feature: If your dishwasher has a delay start feature, use it to run the dishwasher during off-peak hours when energy rates may be lower.


Skip the Heated Dry Cycle: Instead of using the heated dry cycle, open the dishwasher after the wash cycle is complete and let the dishes air-dry. This can save a significant amount of energy.
