Electrolux customer service is terrible. The Electrolux refrigerator we bought malfunctioned shortly after it was installed. They’ve failed to promptly repair it and their customer service people have hung up on us, lied, kept us on hold for numerous hours - all while insisting they are doing a great job. Don’t believe them. Nothing fixed and no end date in sight.

Loved this fridge when I bought it. But it has needed several repairs and now the side is breaking out in rust spots! The water line freezes, and that has repaired and replaced. The whole freezer side door has been replaced. It is 10 yrs old now; but, the problems started about 6 yrs ago.

This has to be the worst refrigerator that I have ever owned! The water line for the water dispenser constantly freezes up. You have to defrost the fridge to get it to start working again. The ice maker just died. The clips for the drawers are always breaking so you have to replace them. The door shelves have broken. The freezer had water leaking on to the bottom and ice built up which would start to leak onto the floor. Hey... but it looks nice. Garbage! Dont ever buy one.

I purchased a Frigidaire Fridge through Sears in August of 2015. I chose Sears because we have one locally and I heard they had excellent customer service. Within a few months of purchasing the fridge the door handles were loose and the water/ice system was not working. I called Sears but was directed to Transglobal. A technician was called and the problem was fixed. A few months later... another issue. At this point I asked if I could have fridge replaced as I felt it was a lemon. Transglobal said I needed 3 documented repairs within my warranty period. Lo and behold last week (20 months into owning the fridge) the compressor stopped working. My family is stranded with no fridge. I had to pay for a service call directed by Transglobal for the technician to tell me the compressor part alone costs 700$ plus 2 hours of labour. Transglobal contacted Electrolux to see if they would replace the cost of the part at the very least and possibly the whole unit as it has been a lemon. Electrolux denied me any support with repair or replacement. I called into Electrolux and asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told that I had to call back at 5:30 pm. Basically, he told me I could call back and send an email but he couldnt do anything for me. I said goodbye, and called back. This time I got a new person who was surprisingly helpful. He asked my name and said that Transglobal had not sent in the service reports for my fridge. He then requested the service reports and said he would get back to me. I am still waiting and Im hopeful this can be resolved. There are so many issues here... Firstly, the product, secondly the sideways way of getting support, thirdly the various skill levels in customer support. I have spoken to 8 people at both Electrolux and Transglobal and 3 have been helpful. Thats less than 40% success in dealing with customers.

Beware of Electrolux/Frigidaire french door freezer/frig. I have had nothing but problems with my unit. From the day it was delivered it has had door sealing issues which lead to me loosing all my food in the freezer twice. The back of the unit has a water leak through the ice maker lines which has frozen up and rusted the ENTIRE back panel of frig/freezer. The temperature control panel goes haywire and change the temperature which leads to food going bad. I contacted Electrolux customer service as well as their corporate office in Sweden. They basically told me they would do nothing to assist in rectifying all my issues. I even had the repair company that was sent out through my extended warranty company (Lowes) tell me the unit needed to be replaced but Electrolux still did nothing. I will never buy another Electrolux/Frigidaire product again!!

The main problem is the ice maker. The waterline frequently is clogged, necessitating service repair. The design of the ice receptacle is backwards, so every time you open the freezer, ice falls to the floor of the freezer, making you reach back to remove the ice from the floor of the freezer and the kitchen floor.

Four year old Electrolux French door refrigerator/freezer model #EI28BS65XS
Four year old Electrolux French door refrigerator/freezer model #EI28BS65XS6 is sweating and rusting on the rear panel, mainly around the upper right hand corner behind the ice maker. I purchased a Rear Panel Kit (part #5303918657) for $199.98 + tax from Electrolux, who stated in an email to me that this ...kit is the only fix for this issue. Unfortunately, the kit includes a huge, thick, black pad that covers the entire rear panel of the refrigerator except for the vented area at the bottom. The water lines to the ice maker have to run over the pad.Unfortunately, the refrigerator will no longer fit in its customer enclosure, which Electrolux has informed me is my problem, as they will not be able to meet any requests for a replacement model, as the warranty for your current model has expired... I am guessing that Electrolux forgot to put insulation in the rear of the refrigerator. They apparently have not notified their customers of the issue either, as I only learned of the problem when I pulled the refrigerator out to clean it. (The ice dispenser quit long ago as well, but thats another story.)

Electrolux refrigerator EW23BC711S SN 4A04802394 never worked properly. We have a service contract **. The freezer never closed tightly and we have experienced frosting from time to time. The ice maker has never worked. It does not maintain the right temperature to keep the ice from melting. Ice turns into solid block and is not usable. All the parts that could be replaced have been replaced as per comments from technician. There is a design flaws and the technicians have repeated that they have many issues with these refrigerators. Under the service contract, a replacement is called for after 3 similar calls. We have asked for a replacement and all Electrolux does is to send more technicians trying to wear us down. Well have no choice but go to court to get satisfaction.

I want everyone to know that these folks do not stand by their product even
I want everyone to know that these folks do not stand by their product even when you have paid extended warranty since 2011. They are telling me I have to live with ice buildup in the top front of the freezer and across the top and left side of the door. WHY. They have set me up with 2 service companies (GURU from Bonifay, FL). Tried 2 weeks and they were a no show. The last one was JC Appliance Dothan, AL Called twice and text them twice and they confirmed the appt Electrolux was suppose to have made nor did they answer the call when they tried to call them themselves. So they set me up with AL POWER in between those two starting first part of December, came back end of December and 2 weeks later came back and I still I have. Company says, There is nothing we can do. It is due to heat and humidity. BUT I have had this freezer since 2011 and have had 8 years of all SEASON and it just started building up last year. AND if that is it why is only in those spots and not the entire freezer. I have contacted BBB and they have contacted the company but all Electrolux had to do was let them know they contacted me NOT helping to fix the issue. I have been dealing with this since Nov 11, 2018. I pay them to have good service companies that know what they are doing and show up. Why do I have to accept an unacceptable results. They cant prove its humidity and I cant prove it isnt EXCEPT LAST YEAR WAS NOT THE FIRST YEAR WE HAVE HAD HUMIDITY. We are in the south, we always have humidity. I pray the good Lord with help me find someone that can point me into the direction where I can get help. BBB suggested contacting Atty General which I did (hope I did it right) but with the recent shutdown doubt I will hear anything. I will NEVER buy another product from them. They just dont care. I wished I could convey to everyone just how little they do care.

We bought the refrigerator in July of 2014 New from Lowes. Immediately we had to place a claim for uneven doors. 1 year later after warranty had expired. All the rear panel from the refrigerator side was entirely cracked. The representative refused to do anything because the units warranty had already expired. Last Night my wife opened the refrigerator door and a lot of white smoke came out. She open the freezer and the entire upper door and ice unit were melted and black. It caught on fire. We quickly disconnected it from power. We are in the process of putting a claim to Electrolux.

The product is the french door refrigerator. The ice maker does not work after doing the quick fix reported on the net. I shut down the ice maker and turn it back on for a good year. There are so many reports on this. In addition to it not working, the ice maker leaks and makes a puddle by the water dispenser. Everyone complains about the ice maker. This being the case, it is probably a bad engineering design. You would think the company would be ethical and back the product and do a recall and fix the problem but no recalls! There should be. I would like to see a class action suit against Electrolux to force them to do a recall and pay to fix the problem. I would love to talk to anyone willing to do this.

We have a maintenance contract w/ Electrolux for French Door ref purchased Dec 2010.. We were advised by tech contracted with Elux that the company made this ice maker for 18 mos. Due to failure of same, ice maker replaced in new products. Currently, we have had no ice maker since Jul 7 2014. We have had terrible service from both Elux and local tech. All reps apologize for inconvenience, appreciate our frustration, take a msg and nothing happens. I have a ref/file number, still no resolution. Page 1 of the Maintenance service contract states No Lemon Guarantee with requirements that we have met. Being that we have a ref/file number, tech said unit would be replaced. Again, poor service from Electrolux service i.e advised that no photos recd, no report received when service provider, MasterTech contact Lydia, says photos were emailed and report was sent to Elux. MasterTech sent email photos to me yesterday at my request. I forwarded these emails to Elux to Stacy, customer service (?) rep at Elux with request that she has recd email. No response. I am going to contact local vendor as well as TV station, The Turko File, to report this terrible service. As a very satisfied customer with ref but very unsatisfied with ice maker issue and no real assistance other than empty apologies, its time to move to another level. We referred this style ref to friends who purchased after we did; they evidently have the upgraded ref w/ ice maker and love the product. That being said, I would not purchase an Elux ref EVER again and their contracted service technicians are paid very little - they are not paid for additional visits. A losing proposition for techs and then ultimately, us as consumers.

Purchased 10/31/09. Ice maker stopped working 6 mos after purchase. After 9 service calls, it is still not working. After 4 years, Electrolux offered to replace. I wanted a refund or extended warranty which they refused. When I decided to accept the offer, I was told it was no longer available. The freezer door handle is loose. The temp display is disappearing and there is a hole about 1 inch above the interior light where the paint is peeling. I suggest consumers with these problems contact the US Consumer Product Safety Commission at Cpsc.gov to file a report so we can get this unsafe product off the market and possibly get a refund.

We bought a Frigidaire refrigerator back in June, 2018. In August 1st, the refrigerator started to act up and stop making any ice or throwing any water. Since it is still under the first year warranty covered by the company, I called Electrolux to have this issue fixed. They have sent five repairs technician from two different service companies to fix this issue and have not fix this yet. Every time a new technician comes to diagnose it, they have to order a part. They have replaced so many parts and still not fixed yet. After three months waiting for technicians and parts to come, I request Electrolux to replace the unit and they rejected the request. They told me that they cant replace it until a technician tells them its non-fixable (the technician will never tell them its non-fixable because hes making money every time he comes to diagnose/repair it). In the meantime, we cant use our product after we paid so much. Electrolux does not stand up for their products, they will have you on and on until you give up and suck it up or until the warranty expires so the problem can be on you.

I will NEVER buy another Electrolux product. Its too bad I wasnt wise enough to check reviews before buying. Almost from the start I had issues with the ice dispenser. After many phone calls & service calls, at least 5, after changing celluloid, main board, ice bucket assembly, they sent 3 incorrect ones before I got the correct one. Mind you they had the part #, after taking at least 4 days off from work to be home for repair tech, I am now close to spending $700.00 in parts. (Oh, they give a 20 percent discount on parts that I have no way of breaking, a celluloid, that takes about 20 minutes to get to?) Main board? Really? I now have the pleasure of a sporadic high temp 58 degree refrigerator & again no help from Electrolux. They use cheap parts & dont stand behind their product. NEVER AGAIN.

For the first year, refrigerator worked well. Then ice maker began filling to capacity every twelve hours. It had to be emptied every night before bed or it banged all night. Called Electrolux and told out of warranty. They offered to send qualified repairman for four hundred dollar fee (parts not included). Have a whole house warranty and they sent a repairman who replaced a circuit. Ice maker worked for two days, then started making malformed ice cubes. Another repairman sent who replaced entire ice maker. It worked perfectly for six months. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Told by Electrolux to replace both air and water filters which I did wasting about a hundred dollars. After two weeks, it miraculously started making ice. Then after one month IT STOPPED. I changed the filters again because the control panel said they needed to be changed. Wasted another hundred dollars. Followed every suggestion in manual and finally got seven ice cubes (half melted and in a block). Emptied them out, replaced ice drawer and a few hours later got one malformed cube and water leaking all over the inside of the refrigerator and the floor. Cleaned up the mess and stood in front of the dispenser door to keep an eye on the devil. It cycles after taking water for a drink or when it goes through the regular cycle and then leaks a half cup of water from dispenser tube which I have now equipped with a plastic Chinese soup container. Once again, I must be sure to empty it before I go to bed. I hate that refrigerator and the company that spawned it. Like others, I waited until I was older, retired and handicapped to fulfill my dream of the perfect kitchen appliance. THANK GOD, I DIDNT BUY THE STOVE!

I purchased an Electrolux Refrigerator Model EW288571150 in August 2010. Since my purchase, I have had 16 service calls. Out of the 16 service calls, I believe 5 parts have been replaced. I do understand Sears policy and procedures but this can become very frustrating. I did speak to someone at Electrolux on 08-08-2012 and she did explain that my problem was with the bottom rack of my ice maker. Never buy an Electrolux side-by-side refrigerator with a water dispenser and ice maker. We bought one in 2011. After the first year, the water dispenser began to function erratically (the water wouldnt stop running). Over time, this problem cascaded into a myriad of problems that caused the entire unit to fail. We had paid for the extended warranty, so Electrolux replaced it. But now, the replacement unit has the same problems! Were reluctant to start the repair process, fearing this unit may also self-destruct. Our only option is to again pay $800 for the extended warranty but a good product should not require customers to endlessly invest in warranties. This product seems to have an inherent defect that the company has failed to fix. Save yourself this grief and buy some other brand of refrigerator besides an Electrolux.

We bought all new Electrolux appliances in Mar 2010. SIDE BY SIDE BOTTOM OUT Counter Depth SS Refrigerator w/ ICE & Water, Model #EI23BCS6I51. Shortly after installation, the ice maker stopped working. Service call in Nov 2010, replaced several parts on it, working again. Believe the ice maker was replaced. In June 2012, again the ice maker is not working. Aug 2012, ice maker not working AGAIN!! Jan 2013, again ice maker not working. May 2015, the ice maker stopped working. Again the auth tech repair comes, and tells us that there is nothing else they can do. They replaced every part they could and STILL NO ICE!!! We did purchase the extended warranty, but now the warranty is expired and the service company will not even answer our phone calls or come anymore. They know what the problem is, but cant get parts from Electrolux to fix it. They have other owners who have the same problems, and they cant fix their ice maker problems either. CONSUMER BEWARE!! We redid our kitchen on 2012, installing a full suite of Electrolux products. The refrigerator was an odd size, so we spend a fair amount of money building cabinetry around it to make it fit. The refrigerator worked for about four and a half years and then needed the computer replaced. Since then, there have been three additional repairs needed, replacing the fan, heating coil and thermostat. The last repair was two months ago. We have spend approx. $1,200 on these repairs. The unit is now not working again. I called Electrolux to explain the situation and ask if they would be willing to assist us with the purchase of a new refrigerator, given the issues with this one. I really dont want a new one, but dont want to incur the cabinetry bills for another refrigerator as I dont know that I can find one of the same size. They said they were not willing to offer any assistance. Their products are expensive, dont last and they dont stand behind it. All good reasons to never buy any of their products.

July 2010 saw purchase of new refrigerator, Electrolux, who happens to be one of two major providers of appliances in this country. Received a one year warranty (as long as I was willing to pay for the authorized serviceman to come verify my claim of what was wrong with it because only the parts themselves were free). Eight months after owning it the door handle broke off upon opening it. Normal wear and tear with two adults and zero children. It was covered under warranty. Eight months after that the same thing happened with the door handle breaking off in my hand. No coverage as warranty expired. That takes us up to today, in 2016. FIVE YEARS and a couple months... How long should a consumer expect to be able to get use of an appliance such as a fridge? The one we replaced was 22 years old and still running, but I wanted energy efficient appliances. Bad decision! They sure dont make them solid like that anymore... At least not mine.So today, spring cleaning, I discovered that the left and right sides both are covered in little hairline cracks, all over the sides. Almost looks like what would happen if something got too hot then too cold or vice versa... I dont have any idea how this kind of fractures on the inside of the fridge could happen. Unless it is because of manufacturers defective product. Something about the material they used is just not up to par for what is needed in a fridge. Thats my first guess. But of course there is zero warranty and the phone rep would not even discuss possibilities of the company taking responsibility for defective products. I will be watching close though, to see if there is ever a recall on them. It wont be able to be used for very much longer. Five years on a fridge? Is that supposed to be the new standards we are going to be forced into dealing with from one of two of the major providers of appliances in the United States? I sure hope not. They are too expensive and really too heavy to replace every five years. Wow, will the land fills be filling up then, huh.

We purchased numerous fridges of this type from Electrolux back in 2014. We are a builder, so we kept all the fridges completely sealed and in secured storage. We have had issues with every single fridge from Electrolux so far to date. The most recent was the brand new fridge we moved into a brand new home. We plugged the fridge in, and immediately there was an obvious smell of smoke. Concerned, we unplugged the fridge. Our electrician had a look at the plug and it was working fine. We called Electrolux, and they told us the issue is probably the plug. We would need to get a report from a certified electrician to prove that there are no issues with any of the plugs or circuits in the home.We had a third party certified electrician come out, take a look and provide a report. We called Electrolux back, and they said an electrician report wouldnt count. They also somehow did not have the last call on file. They said we would instead need to get a certified Frigidaire technician to come out and look at the fridge. They gave us two possible companies in our area we could use.We hired one of the two provided companies to come and take a look at the fridge. They did, and said that it was clear the main computer blew up as soon as the fridge was plugged in. It also appeared one of the secondary computers was fried. They made a report, and attempted to send it to Electrolux internally. Electrolux refused to accept it.We called Electrolux yet again, saying we have a report from a certified Frigidaire technician, and could we please have an email to forward the report to. Electrolux said that never happens and only certified technicians can send reports. I told Electrolux that they themselves had already refused to receive the report internally. The call person refused to provide any email and told me to call the certified technician and tell them to send again. We updated the certified technician, who said they would try again. They were again refused, and had to try and send the report through Electroluxs Contact Us form on their website. We then had to wait nearly 2 weeks before Electrolux called back, just to say nothing is covered and it isnt their problem. To replace the computers is very expensive, and with the other issues we have had with the other fridges, we had to just buy an entirely new fridge (not from Electrolux). Normally I give the benefit of the doubt over and over, but this is by far the worst service and quality I have seen - especially considering the level of luxury Electrolux is supposed to have. We will not be using Electrolux again and we will be recommending against it to any clients in the future. Thank you.

I purchased an Electrolux refrigerator 4 years ago based on many trips to appliance centers who all recommended this brand. I have had both a GE refrigerator and Whirlpool in the past with virtually no issues. The water paddle has failed twice (only my husband and I live here). There is no replacement for just the paddle so you have to buy the entire water dispensing system. The board control went out in 11/2011 and now the same board needs to be replaced again for the price of $400-$500 with service. I called Electrolux who told me to buy an extended warranty yearly for the price of $196. I will never ever buy another Electrolux product again. It makes me wonder if this company was paying higher commissions on their products than their competitors due to so many people stating they heard it was the best appliance from so many sales people.

We would like to express our disappointment with the Electrolux refrigerator model: EW28BS71IS. We purchased this refrigerator in March of 2010 to replace a 7-year old Kenmore side by side refrigerator. We chose this model by brand name knowing that Electrolux is the leader in the industry in quality and service on appliances. Its unfortunate for us to tell you how far youve missed the mark with the model we purchased. Weve had the model serviced three times since weve bought it. The ice maker board has been replaced twice. My wife and I both missed four days of work due to the service calls so the repair person could come to service the fridge, one day for them to figure out what was wrong and another day for them to install it. Our last experience was the most painful. The main board went out and we had to live out of coolers and a dorm size refrigerator for over two weeks. It took three visits by the service repair man before the refrigerator was working again. They ordered the main board from their parts list which took four days. They came to install it and the board in the fridge is different than the one in the repair manual they had. This required them to order another board which took another four days. If we didnt have large Kenmore upright freezers, we wouldve lost all our frozen food.Whats amazing to this story is we arent the only ones dealing with these issues. We happen to be out at a party with some friends telling them our refrigerator saga and that my wife has put her foot down that if there is one more issue, the fridge is gone. They asked the model and when we bought it because they were having similar issues. Sure enough, they bought the same model around the same time. Ive included their story below. I cant believe we are the only two people having these problems and we want to know what you can do to resolve our ongoing issues.

I suffered a serious head injury (concussion) after the door of my freezer hit me in the head. I filed a report with Electrolux and they opened a case. I recovered and decided to not proceed with the claim. I contacted them to tell them to close the case, but I still continue to get e-mails and letters (at least four of each) asking me to contact them. I had a letter stuck in my door of my home today by someone who left a claims adjustor business card saying hes been trying to contact me. What for? I dropped the claim, yet these people keep harassing me! What next?!

Purchased Electrolux fridge model EI123BC361IS in 2010. Yesterday noticed not cooling. After troubleshooting it was determined light switch not functioning which resulted with bulbs (4) staying actively lit after doors closed. The bulbs super heated fridge causing internal temp to read 99 degrees. The heat from the bulbs melted a hole in internal plastic wall exposing styrofoam insulation. Partially melted another hole over another light. Lower bulbs turned sockets dark brown and also began to melt plastic there as well. Contacted customer service said machine not under warranty. No kidding, I told them not really interested in warranty, I wanted to let them know it poses a fire threat. Their response was to advise me to call a technician and examine it. I suggested to them they should send out a representative at their own expense and forwarded photos to them. Did not get the impression they really care and were not very helpful.

We have a French Door Bottom Freezer stainless steel refrigerator that we paid over $3,000 for. The ice maker had problems from the beginning. First it would ice up, now it sets off an alarm saying a power failure has occurred. The repairman charges a fortune. The insurance costs a fortune. Really? A $3,500 refrigerator with this many problems & we have to pay? We are more than angry about this. My cousin bought the same refrigerator & her mother board went out! The part had to be ordered. It cost her over $600! I will throw this out the door before I will pay that much for repairs. I bought this in June of 2009 so 5 years!! Do not by this brand!! Nothing is made to last anymore. Just a rip off. Serial #4A91513407 Model #EW28BS701IS.

Can only wonder if the GE acquisition is a factor in the terrible cust service from this once prestigious company! Previous service calls were handled professionally and never had an issue until Sept 15 when I called cust service and ordered replacement part which covers the motor, etc on back of refrig. Unit arrived approx 10 days later damaged beyond use due to improper packaging of unit (modified box broke open, packing material missing, and unit was crushed). Called cust service back and a replacement unit was shipped out and arrived 4 days later but it was the wrong part. There are only two parts on the backside of a refrig -- the metal plate covering 90% of the unit and the cardboard panel covering the motor, etc! Called cust service again and was advised even though Electrolux rep ordered the wrong part, they would only waive restock fee and I was financially responsible for return shipment for a 35 x 13 x 5 box. Lastly, submitted online complaint to cust service expressing my disagreement with the shipping issue. Next day received email reply stating Saw you called in and matter was resolved by waiving of restock fee.I seriously question if there is some type of learning/listening disability issue (such as Attention Deficit Disorder) with the Electrolux service staff. Or perhaps they just dont care -- put in their hours and collect a paycheck and go home. Three out of four reps failed to listen/absorb what was being said and merely mouthed platitudes and repeated errors. While I was very polite to all of the cust service reps, I am thoroughly disgusted with the corporation and would not recommend Electrolux products.

Purchased a Electrolux Refrigerator Model #EW288S715A. Ice maker stopped working about 6 months after install. Electrolux tried and send us a new refrigerator. Within a few months the ice maker went again. Electrolux said they would sell us another new one for 40% off the retail price. Its a good thing we didnt do that deal - I have since learned that the refrigerator that they would have sold us would have had the same problem. So no ice-maker in a $4000 CDN appliance and after a few years an error message appeared on the panel.Found out that the problem with the ice maker has now caused more serious problems with the guts of the refrigerator from water damage caused by poor insulation that will cost us almost $900 CDN and will probably fail again in the near future. Electrolux know this is a problem but are not reaching out to their customers to tell them what to do - basically the company has stuck their heads in the sand hoping that purchasers of this product dont get together and go after them. I am working on starting a class action suit. Electrolux is one of the largest appliance manufacturers in the world and are abusing their clients with incredibly bad designed products. Stay away from Electrolux. I was told that Bosch makes a fairly good refrigerator.

The refrigerator stopped cooling. I registered a complaint (ref no PTNA 2210110036, dated 8 Oct 2011). The delay in attending to the complaint resulted in leakage of oil. I was later advised to get the compressor changed as oil change cannot be done. Even after compressor change, the refrigerator was not working and was taken to ASC and returned the unit with drilling in the back to do the work. How and with whose permission the drilling is being done? Is this the standard of repairing the refrigerator? Why should I go for legal proceeding against Electrolux under Indian Penal Court Section 420, 120B?

Electrolux FFHT2117LWO over-under refrigerator: This was a replacement for our old one under a utility company energy program. It has run OK, but you cant turn the defrost off, and it seems to run a lot. The handles are our biggest problem. We had to remove the bottom door handle because we hit our heads on it a lot-- opening from the left. It seems to be in just exactly the wrong place. Then, when youre rummaging in the main frig cabinet and straighten back up, POW you hit your head on the freezer handle, very painful and the handles have sharp edges, too. I have thought about removing their awful handles and making my own which curve up, from the bottom of the freezer door. They are not reversible. Emails to Electrolux customer service have gone without response.

I purchased a refrigerator from home depot on the 23rd and it was delivered to me on March 2. Before the delivery guy brought the fridge in he informed me that the fridge was dented and if I wanted a new one I would have to wait another week without a fridge and with a small child that was out of the question. So I decided to call Electrolux to see if I could be compensated for the fridge. I talked with ** and she told me without pictures I could have $40 off the fridge, I took pictures of both sides of the fridge and did not hear back from her. I called the next day and spoke with ** and he said I guess we can give you $60 off. I was upset with the rude comment and said that I was still unhappy and he said well what are you expecting? I was not expecting anything but would have liked to be acknowledged that what I bought was not what I received. He told me he would talk to a manager and call me back the next day, I called and spoke with him again and he said I guess we can give you the $100 off. I was very upset by the way I was being treated and said that I would just prefer to have a new fridge sent since that is what I paid for. His response was oh so now youve changed your mind, we will deliver, then hung up on me. I got no apology for the situation or any details about when the new fridge would be delivered. I am astounded by the horrible customer service this company hires. I called back after being rudely hung up on and he refused to pass me on to a manager. I called back several times after this trying to speak with a manager and not one person would help me. It is now March 20 and after going to home depot in person I got the first apology for my situation and the man working there was amazing and threatened to call head office if my issue was not resolved. Turns out ** did not give my phone number to the delivery company. Appalling, dont use this company, its not worth it

We purchased an Electrolux refrigerator in 2008. Thirteen months later, the ice maker broke and could not be repaired. We were told that the warranty was over and that they would pay 1/2 toward a new refrigerator. Since we werent about to shell out $1,500.00, we complained to the Electrolux rep and he ended up getting us a new refrigerator. However, we have had seven service calls on that appliance in two years! First of all, the doors werent aligned, then there was a leak in the back of the unit because it was never sealed at the factory. A new ice maker was installed, then all ice compartment gaskets and housing were replaced, the freezer gasket was replaced, etc. Because of all of the problems, the company did give us a one year extended warranty.

I wish I would have found this website before purchasing the refrigerator 4 years ago. I will never buy another Electrolux product again. The ice maker has never fully worked since we got the refrigerator. Contacted Electrolux when it was still under warranty. The service company came out. Said it was the control board and that they would replace it. Never heard from them again and got busy. Finally the ice maker stopped working altogether about a year ago. I think the biggest problem with these appliances is that they are not made in the USA. This refrigerator was made in Mexico -- you get what you pay for -- low wages, low quality. When are we going to learn? Cheap labor is never better. As with Electrolux they have lost and will lose a lot of business due to these problems. Did they really save a lot of money seeking out a lower labor cost country? I will make sure my next appliance is made in the USA.

I purchased an Electrolux Wave Touch Standard Depth model EW28BS85KS5 a little over two years ago. After less than a year, the Temp Perfect Drawer seized up and could not be opened. I worked with Electrolux rep to get the repair and all was covered under warranty. Either while I was waiting for repair or shortly after the repair was completed, I was contacted by and ESA representative and offered, for a price of course, an extended warranty. The representative was fully aware of the issues I had with the drawer. Since my confidence level in product quality was now low and believing the extended warranty was as comprehensive as the one year warranty, I purchased the extension. It has been a little more than a year and the drawer has the exact same issue. I contacted ESA to advise them of the recurrence. They advised me that the warranty does not cover the drawer. Only functioning parts of the refrigerator that maintain the cool temperature, the ice maker and the water dispenser. I have tried working with them, but to no success. I do not appreciate a product attribute that is designed to last only a year. I hesitate to spend the money to have it repaired again because I fear next year I will have to have it repaired again. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I purchased a top of the line French Door refrigerator 7 years ago and have had a number of issues. Bad seals, broken parts, ice maker freezing up and now I am told the fridge will fail soon due to the internal thermal parts. Apparently I have a model that had a KNOWN PROBLEM on these models and similar Frigidaire models from 2011 to 2017!!!! Yes ELECTROLUX KNEW, BUT DID THEY DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, seems to be a NO. They supposedly did some sort of recall but NOTHING I EVER RECEIVED. It is NOT COVERED ON YOUR HOME INSURANCE WARRANTY, in fact they tell you to CALL ELECTROLUX. So I did and I was on HOLD for 65 minutes, no mention of any sort of call back which many companies now do. I Guess ELECTROLUX WANTS TO MAXIMISE PROFITS!!!!The lady I spoke to KNEW about this issue (Just as the TECHNICIAN that came out KNEW about this issue). She ended up giving me the number for the CORPORATE OFFICE to speak to a SHELBY so I called. Guess what? Its just a number for Electrolux, no Shelby. This is a $2400 refrigerator, it is a piece of junk and Electrolux seems to be worthless. I have one of their freezers too and guess what? It has had PROBLEMS, so ELECTROLUX YOU APPEAR TO SELL CHEAP PRODUCTS AND DONT STAND BY YOUR PRODUCTS.

We have already spent at least 20 hours following every Electrolux procedure to the letter, regardless of how inane the reasoning only to finally be denied a solution. Bottom line - We would pay for parts but since the ice maker cant be fixed there is nothing we can do for you. Yes we bought $6000 worth of Electrolux products when remodeled our kitchen and they made a defective product but its on us. Thank you very much. They said they dont care about negative Internet reviews because only unhappy people post - not happy ones. Brilliant! So, we vote with our wallet and words. Purchased this unit November 2015. From start we had problems with upper ice maker that dispenses ice on door. Auger freezes up. Electrolux certified Service people in twice during first few months and replaced auger unit. That initial fix appeared to address the problem. However, not the case. Late 2016 noted water accumulated at base of refrig and ice cubes melting in the bin etc... obviously not happy at this point. Luckily we bought extended warranty from our local appliance store where purchased. Apparently insulation must be installed to the back of the fridge. Electrolux fix to solve this poor design/mechanical dilemma. Must add that there is a 2nd ice maker in the bottom freezer section. This fix will extend fridge out additional 2. This is frankly the best fridge I ever owned EXCEPT for the latter icemaker problem. Has great storage in two layers of bins. Glass shelving is nicely staggered and makes items easily visible. Keeps fruits/veggies fresh longer. Cleaning is swift as shelves comes out easily and not difficult to maneuver in sink etc. Bottom freezer is large and can handle a lot of frozen foods. Disappointing that for the price of this unit this problem did not surface in the design stage.

I have had an ongoing issue with the ice maker nearly since I purchased the product 4 years ago. I have paid for numerous Electrolux referred service companies to come out and try to resolve the issues. They have replaced the ice making unit. They have placed massive amounts of silicon around the unit. The lines keep freezing and now, the back of the refrigerator creates blocks of ice causing massive amounts of rust. From past posts, it appears I am not alone in this situation. Electrolux has completely blown me off telling me to call their service providers. The service providers quoted me $175 service call and additional for parts and labor. Electrolux is not taking responsibility for selling me a lemon of a refrigerator. We purchased a Frigidaire side by side less than 2 years ago. Yes, I understand it is out of warranty, but when it caught on fire this weekend at 10 at night, I called a repairman to come look at it. Our model is FFHS2611LB4. We were informed that the water line was not sealed correctly at the factory. Also, the access hole is directly over the relay overload. I spent over $200 for the repair which is not much considering what could have happened if we were not home. Just got off the phone with customer service and of course they will not do anything. Was offering to give us 1/2 off on parts. That doesnt really help when it has already been fixed. I will not buy this brand again. Faulty merchandise and poor customer relations.

Over 3 years ago, we replaced our kitchen with all new Electrolux appliances. Since then the bottom freezer, French door refrigerator has had the ice maker replaced 3 times and repaired many more. For the first 6 months we owned it, the ice maker did not work. Electrolux kept sending incomplete/incorrect parts to the repairman and they still would not give us a new refrigerator. After the warranty expired, we purchased the extended warranty for $350+ per year, for two years, then we stopped. The ice maker has broken again; we spent $450 for a repair this week and it still doesnt work and now they want another $250 for another part.We are beyond angry; we are exhausted by this refrigerator, process, company. We have decided No More! and for now will make ice in trays while I go out to every store in town and begin researching the products, companies and service records to buy a new refrigerator. It is a very sad day in America when American companies treat their citizens this way and we will absolutely never purchase another Electrolux or Frigidaire product. They should be zapped with a fine, like automakers, etc.

Electrolux Refrigerator Model EI26SS55GB0 - I purchased this refrigerator i
Electrolux Refrigerator Model EI26SS55GB0 - I purchased this refrigerator in September 2009. The refrigerator showed problems after I purchased the unit. The main first problem observed was the freezer and refrigerator temperatures were wondering. The digital display also had elements that burned out. The unit was out of the manufacturers warranty when this occurred. I had Sears come over to diagnose the unit and they said it was the interface board. This was in 2012 so based on other posts about their refrigerators I guess comparatively speaking I was doing pretty good. Anyway one month after the new interface board was installed the system started to wander in temperature again and would not stabilize. The Sears technician again came over and replaced the same board at additional expense. The display elements are still not working properly. The segments look like they are getting ready to burn out. We turn off the display to save this part. Now about a month ago the ice dispenser quit working. The issue appears to be the main board which is very expensive to replace. I called Electrolux and they offered me 10% off of the part; Really!!! The board is over $300. I have a friend who owns an appliance store. He told me that he has dropped the Electrolux line. I asked him why. He said when he sold their products he had a ton of circuit board problems. In fact he has a customer that has a similar problem that I had; the temperature wondering. He told me that his customer had a technician out 3-times to change out the board(s). Finally the third time appears to have fixed it however the previous times it went down - the food rotted in the unit and now has a smell that she cant get rid of. My friend is going to swap out the unit with another brand b/c he feels so bad.Anyway bottom line - refrigerators should last much longer than this. I was told Electrolux was a top notch product; NOT!!! Please stay far, far away from this brand. Youll do yourself a favor and avoid MUCH grief!!!

Feb 16, 2011, I spend $3500 on an Electrolux refrigerator. On Nov 28, 2013, after 4 repair visits for the ice maker, the salesperson on the phone strongly encourages me to buy an extended warranty ($408). I did. Its a great looking fridge, however, we had many issues with it. The water in the filter freezes, causing all of the functions in the door not to work. Freezing everything placed in the veggie drawers. The ice maker works intermittently, and now only the crushed worked. Ice maker died after about one year. I really like it, but not worth the high price.

After four months the refrigerator broke. They made me wait two weeks before even offering a loan fridge. I had to call them and spend hours on the phone to come up with any solution (other than not having a fridge). They asked me to go without a fridge for four months because the part they needed was on back order. Bad products + bad service = really really bad company.

5 year old E23BC68JPS (ICON 36 Refrigerator) freezer door jam - From the time we purchased this refrigerator, the freezer door assembly has been problematic. First the gasket around the freezer was defective, which was covered under warranty. Now after 5 years of very moderate use (just my wife and I), the freezer door track has jammed. There is no service in the Monterey Bay area, and it will take up to 2 weeks to get someone out here from another area to look at it. We loved the design of the fridge when purchased, but after only 5 years, this should not have happened. It is a clear reason for the money that we should have stepped up to the Miele as all of the Miele appliances we have are substantially higher quality. We will not be purchasing another Electrolux appliance in our lifetime...

My husband and I have had nothing but problems with our Electrolux refrigerator. We have had the ice maker serviced numerous times. Now it’s out of warranty and have paid 800 dollars to fix something that Electrolux knew could not be fixed. Now Electrolux won’t help us on a refrigerator that we bought for 3700 dollars. Electrolux won’t help us at all. Electrolux is a terrible company when it comes to customer service and Electrolux does not stand by their product. So they told me I had to make an appointment to get a repair but they would get back to me in five days to do so because they didnt have any availability. A week and a half later I called and they said they were still waiting on service (after they put me on a brief hold for two hours). I told the lady I wanted an update the next day and she never called. So I called back the next day – still nothing and still waiting on service. I bought it from Home Depot and that is the second appliance I bought from home depot not only did I have problems with but customer service gave me problems. I am a contractor. I will not buy so much as a drywall screw from home depot. And I will not purchase or install an Electrolux application for myself or anyone else. We purchased a refrigerator/freezer with an automatic ice maker in the door on 12/9/2013. On October 6, 2014 we needed to have the water dispenser serviced as it ran by itself every minute all evening and damaged a big area as it ran into the basement, ruining ceiling tiles. A service person replaced the dispenser module which was under warranty. This morning when we got up we found that it had again been doing the same thing and again ran into the basement damaging more ceiling tiles. Now the real problem is that Electrolux cannot find a technician that will service our area and are waiting for a call back. We found a company that would service Electrolux products but they are checking to see if they are an authorized dealer. How long do we wait for service or for a call back? I will never buy an Electrolux appliance again. The same part shouldnt break after 8 months.

It is just over two years old and have had to have the main computer board replaced (twice) and the evaporator fan to the tune of $1,000! This should be under warranty for a minimum of 3-5 years for these major parts. Model Number is E23BC68JPS5. We bought a new Electrolux refrigerator in July of 2014 and were told by our sales person that Electrolux was a higher grade brand. We believed him and opted to spend a little more to get what we thought would be a bit better quality. Were we wrong! One year and one week to the day, our wiring harness burned out, causing my entire house to smell of burn plastic. All of my food took on the taste and smell of burnt plastic and my refrigerator stopped cooling. When I called Electrolux, they basically told me we were out of luck since we were out of warranty, but they could offer me an extended warranty for $575 (what a deal). We have spent the last 2 days fighting with them over this piece of crap refrigerator that lasted us an entire year and we can either buy the extended warranty or be forced to buy an entirely new refrigerator. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy an Electrolux appliance as long as I live. I will go out of my way to tell people what a substandard product they manufacture and how they provide no concern for customer service or satisfaction. As a consumer I have to wonder why companies push extended warranties when they claim that their products are superior in quality. Shouldnt a refrigerator last longer than 1 year?

Whoa -- either in 1970 or 1971, my parents purchased a Gibson freezer. Within in the last 2 years - yep last 2 yrs - we decided to replace the working Gibson. It was still working and never broke down once. But of course, it used way too much electricity and we didnt want to take a chance with a freezer full of food. Went to Lowes and purchased an Electrolux (tag inside of freezer) but says Frigidaire on the outside. Of course, yesterday it died and ruined a full freezer. It just floors me that a freezer thats almost 45 years would still be working and the new freezer that is ** 2 years old took a crap - OF COURSE -- ITS OUT OF WARRANTY!!! WILL NEVER AGAIN EVEN WASTE MY TIME LOOKING AT ELECTROLUX/FRIGIDAIRE.Updated on 07/07/2017: Within a couple of days I received an email back from Electrolux. - blah blah blah -. Yes, they said they were concerned and asked for more information regarding the repair. Explained, repair person was coming Sat. - he came - found what was wrong, said he would order the part and come back to install it. I emailed Electrolux again & explained it was a control of some kind. Never did they let me know NOT to pay the repair person ---- well let me know if you know of a company that will be willing to fix an appliance and then WAIT for payment. After the repair was completed, I emailed back and gave the additional information, & asked where I could mail the invoice since we paid for the repair. HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD SINCE. I do understand no company will pay for any food that was ruined or labor.

I purchased my Electrolux french door refrigerator from sears in 2015 and have had problems ever since. It does not keep as cold as it should and randomly stops cooling. The thermometer on the door shows a constant 34 but a thermometer placed on the shelf shows approx 48 depending on the location in the fridge. Then randomly every couple months or so the high temp alarm will go off and the fridge gets warm. Technicians have replaced control boards and tested everything but cannot figure it out. We purchased a new French door refrigerator with an external ice dispenser 4 years ago. The only problem is that the ice cubes have black circles on the bottom. Electrolux has been here every year since to fix/replace the tray in which the ice cubes are made, as apparently the metal from the tray attaches itself to the bottom of the ice cubes. I asked if they were possibly toxic and the reply was that this was not a known problem! They have offered me a 50% discount on a new refrigerator. Right. This appliance is a piece of junk and the service has much to be desired. Bought it with other kitchen appliances while redoing the kitchen. Have only used it two months and here are my complaints: doors were dented when unit arrived, new doors were put on with seals put on backward, water filter leaks water on the floor, unit makes more noise than expected. Freezers doesnt seal. Even after service people allegedly fixed it I thought it still didnt seal. Turns out I was right. The freezer door rails need replaced according to third service company!! The electronic computer board has malfunctioned and is reading error codes. The refrigerator will not maintain cold. The evaporator fan needs replaced - not working. Some type of Unit blew out when there was some type of power outage. Now, keep in mind this is two months of use!!!!!! I am filing a lemon law complaint and complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The response of Dormont Appliance and Electrolux has been much less than stellar. DO NOT PATRONIZE EITHER OF THESE COMPANIES (for your own good!).

I bought this refrigerator model E127BS16J56 serial # 4A23619843 in 2013 in great anticipation of have a beautiful stainless steel refrigerator in my kitchen. Stainless steel is a bit more expensive but as a consumer you spend the extra money for its beauty that it adds to your kitchen. Ive noticed that around the stainless steel the grey plastic trims have begun to split and crack for no reason. The refrigerator is in our kitchen and does not get a lot of wear and tear, its just my husband and myself. I called Electrolux and spoke to customer service, told them the refrigerator was practically new and the cracking and chipping of the plastic trim took away from the beauty of my stainless steel refrigerator and asked them how to fix it. I was told the only way to repair the plastic trims on the freezer drawer or the French door refrigerator was to replace the door panels. They would send them to me at a 10 % discount. What!So Im supposed to order new doors at my expense of 500 per door and get a 10% discount if I purchase the doors from them and they wont charge me shipping. This was not acceptable so I called back and asked to speak to a customer service manager. I told her my story and she read through my previous complaint and offered me a 30% discount. This was at least an attempt to assist me but honestly, my refrigerator is 3 years old and all the plastic trims deteriorating and breaking off (obviously a product defect) and to solve the problem Im supposed to purchase all new doors and invest almost 1000 dollars and then pay a mechanic to put them on! Really! I want to fight this Id rather spend 1000 dollars on a lawyer and live with the chipped broken plastic doors. Im disappointed I really thought they would stand behind their product and help me, but the resolution they offered is unsatisfactory! Im going to continue to call and complain, hope springs eternal.

We purchased an Electrolux French door refrigerator five years ago. It is now dead, as a problem with the ice maker caused the back of the refrigerator to completely rust out. I researched the issue and saw that this has happened dozens or hundreds of times with Electrolux refrigerators. I tried to get some satisfaction from the CEO, Alan Shaw, but he would not take my call, hiding behind a woman named Rita. They did offer me a 25% rebate on a new Electrolux product, but I would think since it is a known problem, and the unit only lasted 5 years, I would get a rebate of 65-75%. I was shocked when Rita told me that Electrolux refrigerators only last for 5-7 years. I don’t think I have ever had a refrigerator last less than 20 years. I have a new slogan for Electrolux - “buy an Electrolux - they only last 1/2 as long as the competition. Obviously, I will never buy another Electrolux product and I would encourage you to avoid them at all costs. They have no interest in customer satisfaction.

I purchased a Electrolux refrigerator in Oct. 2014. From the moment we plugged the unit in we had issues. Initially the ice maker would not work and the filters would crack and freeze. First service call, they ordered parts and we had to wait for them to come back and replaced the ice maker and filter intake. Then the filters continued to crack and freeze, the ice maker would stop and the temperature always felt warm in the refrigerator with it even set at 33 degrees and food continually went bad. We bought an internal thermometer and the top shelf read 55 degrees!! Second service call, they had to order parts and we had to wait for them to come back, food continued to rot. They came back and replace more parts. The refrigerator continues to not stay cool. Third service call, now we are waiting on more parts to be replaced. We cant keep food, cant keep food in the refrigerator that will spoil. We have requested that the unit be replaced and Electrolux continues to send out repair companies and they dont even care about the amount of money we have wasted in food OR our time that this has taken to even take care of all these issues. I am very dissatisfied with this product and would never recommend an Electrolux Refrigerator to any consumer looking for a counter depth unit. My last refrigerator was 15 plus years old and never had one issue!! The only reason we needed to replace the unit was because we needed a counter depth for a remodel. I received a call from the service tech stating they do not service Electrolux contracts, and they have no idea why Electrolux would contact them as they only service Frigidaire contracts. I called Electrolux and advised of my conversation with the service tech. An Electrolux mgr. stated he would elevate my service request and I should hear from someone in 2-3 days. I asked, then how many days before I would be able to get service. He basically gave me the impression I should be glad that he elevated my request. I gave it some thought, looked in my yellow pages and noted tons of refrigerator repairmen. Called Electrolux back and asked if I should find someone to service my refrigerator would they reimburse? They said I would need to pay the service tech, submit the bill to Electrolux and they would determine if they would reimburse, because the repairmen in the area were not designated Frigidaire repairmen. So, here I sit, just thinking what an absolute nightmare and waste of time and money dealing with what appears to be a worthless Electrolux warranty.

We purchased our refrigerator 4.5 years ago for $925. Though everything still looks and sounds ok, it has stopped cooling and the compressor at the bottom rear gets really hot. There is apparently a 5 year warranty on the sealed unit. After several phone calls, these are the hoops we would be expected to jump through: Not just any licensed refrigeration technician will do (since we already had one look at it). We would need an authorized servicer to come and verify if it is the sealed unit that has failed. The authorized servicer would charge us and it would not be covered by Electrolux (they say they cover materials only, not labor). That said, if the authorized servicer determined that the sealed unit had failed, the compressor and the evaporator are both obsolete items not available from Electrolux, so they dont actually cover the materials. Instead, Electrolux would offer us a 10% rebate toward a new refrigerator (presumably once we purchased it from them?) So the warranty is useless and we wont be doing any of this.

Very dissatisfied with the durability of this $3500 product and the customer service is slow and unresponsive. They keep assuring me that it is moving forward and seem satisfied with their response. I would not recommend spending any money with this company.
