We purchased what we believed to be a high-end Bosch dishwasher (Model Number SHX43 CO5UC). Were a family of 2 and use the dishwasher about every other day. After about 2 years, the pump/motor went out and the cost of repair is approaching $500 plus labor. Bosch, when contacted by phone, said it is out of warranty and we were on our own. One would reasonably expect a reportedly high-end product, lightly used, to last longer. And if for some reason it failed, one would reasonably think that the manufacturer would provide some type of support to make the product work (as designed and advertised) at a reasonable cost to the consumer. Note - this is a $600 dishwasher.

Had a refrigerator where the ice maker never work from the day one. They asked to show them proof of purchase and I did. Called them, was told the management is going to review. Follow up with them and found out they never send report to management to make decision. Rude customer service. They hung up the phone on you and no one is above the one picks up the phone nor supervise. The customer service on the corner store is much better than Bosch customer service. I give them - not even one *.

We bought the TOP of the line SHEM78WH5N dishwasher thinking that it is Bosch what could go wrong? Since day 1, this dishwasher has had the SAME issue, it drains at the beginning on the cycle and then mid cycle ALWAYS gives the same issue “error: cannot drain”. Customer service kept just pushing us until warranty is over and now say, Sorry we cannot help. Extremely terrible experience for a $2000 dishwasher.

I turned on the dishwasher, theres lights and sound, but no water filled on any cycle. I smelled something burning but saw no flames or smoke. I did not think it was the washer till reading here. The washer was installed on July 2005. Sounds like a planned obsolescence. After reading all the complaints, I have decided not to call for repair. I will simply replace the dishwasher with another brand and wait to hear about Bosch going out of business or a class action suit that will last forever. It is good there is a forum of consumer opinion. Instead of buyer beware, it is now provider beware. Hooray!

The dishes simply do not get clean. Even simple things like coffee cups come out still stained. I end up pre-treating the dishes or handwashing especially stained items. Waste of money. I purchased the Bosch model that was around $500 because of their reputation. They sell machines in the $5000 range. These perhaps could be worth the money. This lower priced model was made to appeal to the average consumer and is very disappointing. It is a quiet machine but that wasnt necessarily important to me. I was especially impressed with the 3rd tray at the top for laying silverware horizontally. This allowed the basket on the bottom tier to be removed and seemed to provide more space. Instead, you find that the silverware simply doesnt get cleaned on the top tray. Furthermore, removal of the basket does not truly allow for that much more room. None of my saucepan lids can fit in the bottom tier unless they are loosely placed on the rim of the basket. Standard size, stainless steel and non-descript, but there are other brands just as elegant that actually clean the dishes. This dishwasher was sold with free packets of Finish. The packets never truly dissolve and you are wondering if you just washed your dishes with hot water. When speaking to a maintenance expert he explained the water doesnt get hot enough to melt the plastic and that is where you realize your energy savings. So why does Bosch promote the Finish packets? Are they that clueless about their own product?

The clothes are coming out dirty and my clothes are getting damaged. I have called the customer service several times, but they have been of no help. Also, I dont like the front load washer because you have to keep the door open. Otherwise, mold starts growing and it starts smelling.

My Dishwasher was purchased April 2011, about 1 1/2 years ago it started to stay on for about 3 mins and then go off, so it didnt turn on the first try, then the issue started to get worse, it is up to 10 tries before it goes on. We are very frustrated, maybe I am naive but I was counting on this dishwasher working for at least 5 years.Model Number SHX68E05UC/25 - Before this dishwasher I owned a lower end Bosch dishwasher, the only reason we changed it was because this one was quieter and had the sanitizing feature. I so regret getting it, this dishwasher was manufactured in Germany, with German Engineering etc, but their warranty sucks, they do not stand behind their product. I guess it is all about the money and all lies behind the product hype. I demand satisfaction, we the consumers should not have to fork out more money to repair a defective product. I checked online and it is supposed to be warrantied for 5 years, yet Bosch service warranty says only the timer part is warrantied for 5 years but not the service to install it. Seriously should I throw my dishwasher out after 2 years and purchase a new one?? I want and demand satisfaction for the product I was sold.

Dishwasher control panel markings have all worn off after two years. So you no longer can see power buttons or different cycles. Filed a claim with Bosch like many other consumers have done. Bosch says that they will not cover it and claims it is cosmetic issue not a operating issue. It is an operating issue since you have to take out the manual to know which area to push to run the dishwasher since all of the print has worn off the control panel. I have noticed a lot of other consumers have had the same issue.

Bosch dishwashers have a circuit board that according to all the repair persons Ive talked to simply go out after a certain number of loads. A circuit board manufacturing engineer told me after looking at the part that the Bosch cost is about $17 to build it. The repairmen want between $250 to $350 to replace the board that Bosch sells to them for $150. 5 cycle, all the bells and whistles. Deep floor, thin walled, big as you can fit in std space. Bosch make beautiful stainless fronts. Negotiate a 2nd circuit board with your purchase, you will need it soon. Its precisely designed to fail at 3 yrs normal use.

I had some issues with the fridge, it wouldn’t cool and also the water dispenser stopped working. The technician came on a number of occasions to figure out what the issue was, of course all at a cost to me. He thought he figured out why it wasn’t cooling and replaced the fan. He told me to purchase a triple valve from Bosch and that should fix my water dispensing issue. So I ordered online straight away. After a few days the item arrived, but I had also noticed that the internal temp inside the fridge didn’t go below 20 degrees Celsius. I decided enough was enough, spent so much on this technician and yet nothing, so I went out and purchased a new fridge. I contacted Bosch and explained the situation, and seek a refund on this triple Valve, technician labor cost as well as the cost for the new fan he had installed because the fridge clearly isn’t going to work. Till now it is still under review. As for the triple valve I sent it back to Bosch at their request (after again explaining to sales why I no longer want the item) at my own expense and yet they still charged me a ‘restocking fee’. I told them I only purchased it at the advice of the technician but because he couldn’t resolve my main issue, I didn’t need it anymore. They wouldn’t budge. I will recommend anyone that is thinking about purchasing a Bosch appliance to reconsider. Their customer service is awful and their technicians don’t seem to know the product too well either.

Bosch 500 series 44-decibel - I purchased the Bosch model SHP65T52UC in January 2015. I love the 3rd drawer for silverware, and that it has a 30 minute wash cycle if I want to use it. What I dont like is that I find it hard to place my dishes and have to be careful with tall glasses or they will hit against the 3rd shelf. Also, I noticed that it harbors moisture because there is no drying element inside and after a day there is a bad order like rotting garbage so I have to wipe down the sides and back or leave the door open so it dries. At the time, Bosch offered free installation so I got a refund in the form of a prepaid Visa card. It worries me about all the negative reviews, but so far so good. I purchased through Lowes which has great customer service and installation people.

New dishwasher from Lowe’s was delivered in April. Noticed it did not close securely like other models. The machine began to quit running during operation. Finally figured out the door was opening interrupting the cycle. Then it might run over 3 hours and sometimes would not drain. Over next several months Bosch repairman installed new latch. We purchased a home with a Bosch dishwasher. The previous owner did not leave any paperwork on any appliance. The electronics in dishwasher door started a kitchen fire. The insurance company will take care of the kitchen damage, but will not replace the dishwasher. The dishwasher replacement is completely our responsibility. When I called Bosch to see if they would at the very least give me a partial credit toward the purchase of a new Bosch I was told by Representative Kayla, and not very sympathetically, that since I didnt have any paperwork on the original purchase they would not do anything for me. Basically too bad, so sad. Well guess who will not purchase another Bosch product.

First the washer smells really bad if we leave the door closed, then the dryer on/off switch is a hit or miss as it doesnt trigger it. Admittedly, my Bosch Oven is now over 10 years old and out of warranty. However, this is the second time that the Bosch Oven has exploded with glass shattering over the floor and the people in the kitchen. Whilst I expect some ovens to grow old, I do not expect them to explode - especially twice now. The first was when the oven was being used and the second time was when the oven had cooled down. The first time, Bosch provided some (around 40%) reimbursement. On the second contact, first impression from customer service was that they were interested, but since then, they have been notably unavailable for comment or response. I have been a longtime owner of Bosch appliances in every home we own with no issues in the past 20 years. I down sized and moved into a new home. I decided to change out the refrigerator first. I love the new refrigerator with French doors and one big drawer below. Upon delivery my appliance was DOA. It tripped the dedicated breaker in the garage. We plugged it into other outlets in the kitchen to check to see if it was the outlet. They took it away, the rep was very arrogant saying that it was a problem with our electric in our new home. The distributor asked if we could have an electrician check out. The electrician said that we would need to something that he can not and would not do for us. We needed to put an old style non-ARC breaker in for that dedicated outlet. The retailer brought it back on Tuesday the following week after my husband installed a Non-ARC required by code breaker. It works. So we needed to break the electrical code to keep this appliance. The electrician said that their refrigerator and DWs have that issue. In the country they are made, they do not replicate the electrical supply with breakers like we have in the US for testing and this problem is known by the reps, distributors, and the company. I would love to see them do something about it. We have an electrical code for a reason. ARCs have been required since about 2013 or so. You would think they would have corrected this by now. All of my other homes were not new- last three so it was not an issue with the breakers. You choose.

We purchased this refrigerator to replace a side-by-side that was over a decade old and having trouble keeping the refrigerator cool enough. We needed a counter-depth model due to the relatively small size of our kitchen, and we wanted a French door style with one or two freezer drawers. Other features we wanted: large enough vegetable and fruit bins (some brands have ridiculously small bins), digital controls, LED lights, ice maker (but we had not liked the in-door water and ice we had on the side-by side), the ability to make a shelf into a half-shelf to accommodate tall bottles, and a lot of usable door space. We have been able to fit quite a lot in the refrigerator portion--more than we did in the side-by-side. The shelves are laid out quite nicely, and we have not even made adjustments from the original factory positions. We don't use the egg trays (we kept the tray from the side-by-side, which we like better), but we think we could use one more door shelf and may order one. The freezer is a bit more space limited, although we have been able to fit virtually everything we needed without too much of a problem. We were a bit skeptical about the full-width tray at the refrigerator bottom, but have found ourselves using it for a number of items, especially cheese. This French-door refrigerator allows you to open the left door, access, and close it without touching the right door. I have struggled with other brands that require you to pop the right door just to get the left one in place. We live in Boston where the water is better than anywhere that we have lived, so the lack of a filter has not been a problem (we did flush things out with a few batches of ice at first). It senses when you need ice, so you don't have to manually turn it off. Unlike some reviewers, we have found that it makes plenty of ice. (Our other refrigerator did have a small water filter, but it was always unclear how often we needed to change it and when it might itself become a source of bacteria. If you really need a filter, we would think it might be better to get a more robust one that filtered both the sink tap water and the line to the refrigerator.) Our only caution/complaint is that the door-open warning is not loud enough. You really need to make sure the French doors are fully closed, because you won't easily hear the low-level dinging over a normal TV or stereo.

WE LEARN BY OUR MISTAKES. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

I opened this account specifically to complain about my Bosch dishwasher. Within a year, rust spots started to appear on the inside door and the Bosch repairman inspected them and said it was normal and they would not fix nor replace it. The dishwasher still worked so we let it go. Then 2 years later the coating on the bottom rack started to melt off revealing the metal underneath that started to rust. Since it had been 2 years, Bosch did not cover it and from there on the bottom rack started to have other areas of disintegration.A replacement for just the bottom rack is $250. Now today the machine stopped working. The water inlet may be clogged as no water comes in. We didnt realize it until we started smelling something burning. The smell came from the grinder that burned its gears since there was no water. As much as I would like to be swayed by the great reviews Bosch gets from professional reviewers, the endurance does not pan out and thats something professional reviewers dont think about.

After fighting cheap dishwashers for years, I decided to upgrade to a quality machine to stop the bleeding of repairs. Two years and $750 in repairs later, Ive had a circuit board go out on this dishwasher and I cant be more disgusted. Save the money, buy a cheap dishwasher and replace it when it breaks. Dont spend the $900 on a Bosch unit hoping it will solve the issues; it wont, it will be more painful instead.

We got a Bosch Refrigerator vía our Builder, is the brand they carry. Is a Bosch French Door Bottom Mount! Every one we use the water dispenser the water drips constantly. We are trying to figure out what to put there. Every time that we use the ice dispenser the ice flies all over our wood floor. We have to pick up the ice constantly from the floor. The Bosch technician came to our home yesterday and said nothing could be done. That it was normal, I told him is NOT. We own an LGE and Whirlpool for over 10 years and never had that problem. That said he said, Buy bigger glasses. Really?

I love my new very quiet Bosch dishwasher, but since I bought the lowest priced model I thought that was why I wasnt getting the best clean glasses and dishes. I contacted Bosch and they sent out a local repair guy. He discovered that water had been pooling under my dishwasher which could have been very damaging to my home. He ordered a complete replacement from Bosch. That was almost a month ago, and since then I have had to initiate all phone calls to see when my new dishwasher will come. Yesterday I spoke with a supervisor who was very condescending and with a sickly sweet tone told me it will be at least another 10 days before any action is taken because that is just their process, and then she cut off the conversation. I dont really know if I will get the new dishwasher after the way she abruptly cut me off.

We purchased a Bosch Powerstar tankless water heater with a 10-year warrant
We purchased a Bosch Powerstar tankless water heater with a 10-year warranty in October of 2008 from Home Depot. At the time, the price on the water heater was $800. In September of 2012, it stopped working so I called Bosch. The first rep told me I needed a licensed person to come out and look at it before I could claim warranty on the unit. This was on September 28th. Okay, not a problem, right? Wrong! First off, they do not have technicians to send to look at their products so I had to call a plumber and I couldnt find one that could come that day. On October 2nd, the plumber shows up and after extensive arguing between Bosch and the plumber because he was told to disassemble the unit, take photographs of the inside, and send them to the Bosch tech. But first, they would have to send us the new O-rings before the unit could be disassembled, so $80 to the plumber and he left. The O-rings finally arrived on October 10th so another call to the plumber. He came out on the 12th. After 4 hours of this crap and $320, they decided to warranty the unit and said they would ship out a new one. Well, today is October 22nd and I still do not have my new water heater! I called Bosch this morning and they didnt send it out until the 18th. So now, after 25 days of no hot water, I have decided I will never buy another Bosch product in my lifetime and I hope you wont either! Very bad customer service.

My wonderful Bosch dishwasher recently stopped dispensing the detergent. Since its under warranty, I have followed all the required steps and jumped through the requested hoops, but have discovered that Bosch obviously does not offer service in our area. Over the past week I have spent 2 hours and 47 minutes on the phone (most of it on hold), been disconnected (with no return call from them) 3 times, and have emailed with no response twice. I have a file number now due to the concerns about no service provider in our area, but that seems to be simply a pacifier, since it has proven to provide nothing. Bosch service is THE worst!

Bosch dishwashers are the absolute biggest pieces of junk! I spent over $800.00 on their dishwasher and it has broken down 20 times in 6 months! My cousin was going to purchase 50 dishwashers for a condo unit he is building. Guess what!? He isnt anymore! The stench from the dishes not getting cleaned is disgusting. Never, ever buy Bosch for anything! Their customer service is the WORST!!! The water does not fill leaving the dishwasher to run for over 2 hours never cleaning a single dish. I have had dinner parties and the dishwasher has not worked, (as usual) leaving myself and my guests disgusted at the mess. We bought a Bosch dishwasher SHX series 3 years ago that needed the recall fix. After an hour on the phone trying to get a service call, the repairman was slated for 7am to 5 pm window. When he got here he switched the power cord but the dishwasher did not fit back in slot due to the special new cord. He said I should call an electrician to fix this issue and left. Now I am waiting to pay electrician to fix what the Bosch repairman left me with. BTW the fire and overheating claims started years ago, before we bought the dishwasher, it was not released on the internet that there were serious issues with these devices. I guess Bosch wanted to see how many claims came in before they issued a recall.

My daughter and son in law bought a new home 7 years ago and bought top of the line appliances. They no longer had their washer with 3 children to do laundry and the front panel cracked. They had a service man come from Midland appliance around 11 times to change this panel. My daughter and son-in-law work. So someone had to be available to let the service man in. I complained and thought it fair for inconvenience plus unacceptable poor quality of a washing machine. Bosch didnt seem to care. So this story ends with I would not purchase any Bosch appliances when I had to replace mine and my daughter has purchased the same set of course newer and it is DEFINITELY not a Bosch. Service was good from Midland but Bosch would not stand behind their name. I tried to help them as very busy parents with identical twin boys and a beautiful granddaughter.

Our built in microwave 800 series starting having trouble about a year after purchase. The display went dim. We were told it was no longer in warranty so just lived with it. Subsequently the door broke, the fuse blew and the circuit board overloaded and failed/burned out (all out of warranty). The service person came ($200) to tell us the door being crooked from when we bought it caused all these problems because the left and right side triggers were engaging out of sync when opening and closing. The cost to repair the unit would be more than the value of the microwave at original purchase. As for a prorate on a replacement model. Its taken them 6 weeks and counting just to process that request while I continue to get voicemails that a repair person is coming back to fix it (a solution Ive repeatedly rejected as paying over $1000 to repair a microwave is nonsense). Two months of calls to Bosch support several times a week and still waiting to get this resolved. The prorate amount they have offered is a very small discount considering they sold us a lemon in the first place. Very disappointed with bosch at every step and would not recommend the product nor customer service.

I would NEVER recommend a Bosch dishwasher to anyone. I bought the top of the line based on previous reliability of Bosch products. What I never expected was that they would REFUSE to stand behind their warranty. My dishwasher has completed less than 100 loads in total - or about $30 a load. Not even close to value for money in my opinion. It started leaking and triggering the dreaded E:15 within 5 months of install. When a pinhole leak was discovered in the machine the certified repair tech told us he had never seen this and it was clearly a manufacturing defect. Bosch, decided not to look at it and refused to honour the warranty. Now I guess we get to work with consumer affairs. I am happy to share photos for all to see.

I had called the factory service (Dale ** at **) and also talked to the service manager Ron ** to have my dryer repaired. The problem was first tried to fix on August 8th, 2011 where I had paid close to $300. But the problem of the clinging and banging noise did not go away. After 2 more visits, the service man had ordered new parts that seemed to be delivered always wrong. Today, after 3 months later, my nerves are blank listening to this banging, clinging dryer noise, which I have to hear 3 times per week. Nobody calls anymore to show any effort to fix this problem. How can it be that Bosch cannot fix their own machines? I think that I have been more than patient. And if you cannot repair what is wrong with my dryer, then I deserve a new machine. Or, deduct the already paid $273.25 and get me a new dryer.

In the last few months I bought a trimmer from Amazon and was delighted with the product, however recently the battery started to spark and the trimmer now doesn’t work. I called up the service centre 2 days ago, I spoke to the most delightful lady who was really helpful and explained to me what the process was to get the trimmer fixed. Explained that I would need to print off a courier label that will need to be taped to a box that will hold trimmer because the a third party courier will be picking it up. I explained I don’t have a printer at home and live a in a small remote village and will not be sure when I can get to a printer. She said that it’s fine and that she will send me a pre print receipt and I can print that and then call her back to sort out a delivery.I didn’t receive the email with the label so I decided to call back today to try and get it sent back to me. I dial the number and give my reference number and let the man know I’m waiting for an email. To my surprise the man on the phone was rude and unprofessional, belittling me by saying that is not the process and that I need to arrange it and then get the email to me once it’s been processed.I try to explain the situation with the printer to get the label. He said, No need for a label but you need proof of purchase in the box. I said well printing is not really an option for me because of my situation to which he gave me ‘tough luck’ attitude. Then went on to say, Well do you want to arrange it or not? I replied to enquiry can I arrange it for a future date, which he said, No. We only do it 24 hours in advance, then he was of no help and pressured me to answer like I didn’t have time to even think about whether this is an option for me. And then he went on to say, The previous person you spoke to told you the wrong information. I’ll look up who it is and have them retrained. Disgusting attitude bad mouthing your own colleagues like that. This has been one of my worst experiences with customer services given my initial interaction was one of the most pleasantest conversations. Poor customer service and I’ll be glad this is the last time I buy from you again.

I was getting tired of troubleshooting and recently it just stopped working altogether. I contacted Bosch customer service and basically they said sorry not on warranty anymore. It will cost you $125 for a service call + $30 for every 15 minutes of labor + parts. This is just wrong. I could not be more disappointed with the quality and service of Bosch. I explained that she had the machine for about a month and now it is going to be out of service for that long. Customer service said they would expedite it. They would call and let us know it was on way. I had to call again because now a second or third part I didnt know about is on backorder. If negative stars were possible they have sincerely earned it. We spent nearly 11,000 dollars in appliances and the combination wall oven microwave has never worked correctly. Bosch has tried and failed to fix the appliance three times. I have spent over 12 hours on the phone with Bosch, most of it on hold, trying to rectify this situation. I have asked for assistance to get the appliances replaced to no avail. On 1/3/18 they came and fixed the appliance for the third time. This fix was to replace the touch panel because the second trip to the house the technician replaced it with the wrong touch panel. When that technician was questioned about it he said, “That’s the right one for your oven” instead of holding the two next to each other to determine that it was in fact the wrong one. Then a different technician came to replace that touch panel with the correct one. That one, on the first use came up with fault codes saying that the electrical was too hot. Ten minutes later another code came on that says communication error now the oven won’t come on at all. I called to request that the appliances be taken out of my house and explained to them my concerns of faulty wiring. I also told them of my concerns of fire hazard and having my newly built home burned down. The representative told me that it needed to go to management and that I would be contacted in 24-48 hours. I was not contacted and after 72 hours I called them back to find out the first representative didn’t even send my file to management. I explained the situation and was told that it would have to go to management. I then asked to be transferred to management because I had no faith that I would be contacted. I was finally transferred to an “escalation manager” who was unable to help me and she transferred me to the “escalation supervisor” named Shawn. Shawn then explained to me that they would never refund my money for the appliances and that I was stuck them, but they might be able to replace the oven. I had already been told by two representatives that refunding the appliances was a possibility only to be told by this extremely unprofessional representative named Shawn that was not an option. He then told me it would have to go to management and I would be contacted in 24-48 hours. I cannot stress enough my displeasure with everything about Bosch most of all by their customer service. They are absolutely one hundred percent unprofessional hacks that will never get my business again. I will never buy anything with a Bosch affiliation again. Horrible company, horrible employees, and horrible products. Save yourself from this overpriced trash.

My children and I nearly lost our lives 3 nights ago in a fire. I went to bed after turning on my premium Bosch dishwasher. I am deaf in one ear. I went to sleep and heard/smelled nothing. Suddenly my 12 year-old daughter came running into my room yelling that there was a fire in the kitchen. I ran down and saw 3 foot flames coming out of the dishwasher. Thank god I had a fire extinguisher, which I had taught myself to use after seeing a Dateline story years ago that most Americans who have extinguishers dont know how to use them. We are now displaced temporarily from our apartment for at least 2-3 weeks during clean-up and without a kitchen for 3-4 months. If one more minute had passed, I would not have been able to reach the extinguisher on the counter and would have lost everything. If my daughter had not been so alert or there, I/we would have died. What makes me angry is that Bosch KNOWS these dishwashers may catch on fire. There is a voluntary recall posted deep in their site for models from 1999-2005 for a very rare ability to inflame. They have made little effort to contact consumers directly. If you google, you will see that the international news media is starting to notice.

I purchased a new Bosch refrigerator at Best Buy less than a year ago for almost $3,000. The fridge broke in less than a year and when I reached out to Bosch to get a repair they sent me to a third party company that sent out a person who evaluated the fridge and said we needed parts to fix it. They ordered parts, after 2 weeks they told me the parts on back order. I called Bosch directly and they said the parts were being ordered directly from them and they are not on back order. So they suggested to send their own technician to come and fix the fridge with the parts. The technician they sent a week later had no idea why he was there and had no parts. They needed to send a different technician the following week. When he finally arrived he said the fridge is broken and needed to be replaced that it cannot be repaired. Bosch a week later after their process said that fridge is discontinued and they needed to order a different model that is also the same size and cost. We waited another 2 weeks for that fridge and when that finally came it was the wrong size. My 73 year old parents have been without a properly working fridge for over a month. They lost money on spoiled food and having to eat out and had to buy another small fridge to be able to live. The customer representatives seem extremely unorganized, unprofessional. I have never had such a terrible experience. This company is a nightmare to deal with. Bosch Axxis Electric Dryer- For the first 2 years the dryer worked very well. I cleaned the lint filter after every use. Apparently there is a design flaw where the lint can blow inside the machine & build up next to the heating element. The first time, the safety shutoff tripped & when I checked why the machine wasnt on anymore, discovered a burning smell. For $120 the nice service man cleaned it out & showed me the burned lint. One year later the same thing happened but the lint hadnt started burning yet. I had it cleaned out & the service guy said it would need to be cleaned every year. At $120 for 15 minutes of work, this is not tenable. One year later (today) I smelled an acrid odor. I turned off the dryer; the safety shutoff did not work this time. The smoke coming out of the dryer set off the buildings fire alarm. Im not spending another penny on this poorly designed machine, only to have it burn down my building and putting several families on the street. Bosch admits its not a good thing that the lint can easily reach the heating element, but wont admit it is a design flaw. They advise yearly servicing. I will replace the dryer with a different brand; never buying a Bosch dryer again.

I have been using Bosch Dishwashers since 1986. I purchased my first Bosch Dishwasher while living in Rauenberg Germany. Had no problem with the machine. On my return to Canada in 1993 I kept the machine, had to have a 220 line installed in house to use machine. In 2013 decided to buy another Bosch machine. I quickly found out there is a difference in quality of machines made in Germany than the ones in North America. I have had nothing but problems with my new Bosch Model SHE3ARF2UC/08 SilencePlus 50 dBA. Every month once or twice a month the machine would not drain. Saying blockage of drain. Dishes are washed off prior to been placed in machine. Problem still persisting. This is a regular problem with this machine. Time to look for another brand. Had enough of this problem. Costly.

Model hmvp053u/01 Jan 2017. Bought 2018. Didn’t cut off. Burned up. Took 4 mo for Bosch to fix. Would not take back. Can’t read small numbers on control with light on. 2018 Bosch induction range. Numbers can’t be seen. Oven on multi-rack doesn’t bake evenly on convection. When door is opened for less than 2 minutes it takes about ten minute or more to get back to the baking temperature.

The Bosch model SHV99A03/UC 14 is fabulous! It is quiet, a major advantage. Only a door spring pulley has broken in 12 years. The racks are large and easy to load. They fit all sizes of dishes and utensils. This will hold a very full load of dishes. We have the option for wood paneling that matches the oak cabinets. The door springs are strong, but the plastic pulleys are what broke. Bosch has redesigned them, so get the newer ones. They are a real challenge to replace, but there was some good video on YouTube showing how. Study first before you begin!

I have all 800 series appliances from Bosch that are all just 4 years old. Refrigerator is noisy, plastic shelves are cheap and break easily, and shelf spacing is limited - its hard to fit a gallon of milk in. Dishwasher: was very quiet and now sounds like there is a heavy storm in the kitchen when it is running. Plus the racks are weird and dont hold dishes well. You end up washing half loads all the time because otherwise plates touch each other in the rack. Double ovens: my wife sloshed some chicken drippings on the glass door when unloading it and the grease got between the glass panels. I called Bosch about the oven door issue and my warranty was up by sixty days and they refused to fix this under warranty. I have never had problems with appliances before (GE Hotpoint; Kenmore). I paid top buck for an All Bosch kitchen. Its all junk.

Have a Bosch built-in refrigerator with TWO issues related to the icemaker.
Have a Bosch built-in refrigerator with TWO issues related to the icemaker. Have had it only 6 months, but both problems pretty much from the beginning. First of all, it keeps dropping ice into the tray, and the tray overflows because all the ice drops down in the back of the tray, while the front of the tray pretty much stays empty. Had serviceman here twice, and both times he told me I have to keep pushing the ice from the back of the tray to the front. Told me the manual says that. It doesnt.MORE IMPORTANT - there are little tiny flies and an awful smell in our freezer ever since the fridges circuit breaker blew while we were away for a month. Every once in a while Ill see a tiny larva inside an ice cube. Pretty sure there is a nest in the icemaker or water line. Or possibly in the drip tray. The bugs seem to come out every couple of weeks - probably the gestation time for the new eggs that were laid. Weve never seen a live one - only dead. Had both exterminator & Bosch service person tell us we need to totally uninstall the fridge and clean & disinfect. Seems to me there should be a way to get to the drip tray & icemaker without uninstalling the fridge. Have 4 boxes of baking soda - still have the smell.

We purchased the Bosch microwave/speed oven (800 series) with an extended warranty along with several other Bosch appliances during a kitchen remodel in 2016. During the two years we have owned the appliances, the microwave has broken down three times. Boschs customer service has been atrocious! Many weeks waiting for an appointment and then more time waiting for parts and subsequent visits from a repairman. Most recently, the control panel was completely replaced on 8/17/18. This has been a horrible experience made worse today when I discovered during a baby shower that the Bosch warming drawer installed under the oven units had been damaged during the repair to the microwave! Never again will I recommend or purchase a Bosch product.

Bosch are terrible products and there customer service is even worse. We bought a new house and it came with Bosch appliances. After living in the house for 2.5 years the refrigerator’s water filter broke and then the fridge stopped cooling. This happened at the best possible time. I just had my second child who is now one month old child, my mother and father in-law are visiting as well as my brother and sister in-law with their two kids. Bosch only allows for factory service people to inspect the machine. On the list of 4 in my area, Palo Alto 3 dont deal with refrigeration units. I was able to get someone to come out in two days to look at this. Keep in mind when you have a 1 month old child, milk and formula must be kept cold and they need to be fed every 3 hrs. The factory tech said the problem was a leak in the coolant. He cant guarantee the fix because they cant fix all leaks, but since the fridge is out of warranty the repair will cost $900. Keep in mind I went to Home Depot and bought a fridge out of necessity for my garage, GE, $400.I asked Bosch if they could work with me on the repair or discount a new fridge. If they would Id buy Bosch and be a loyal customer. They said youre out of warranty so we wont do anything for you. Huge inconvenience factor and they just dont care about the customer.

I have always thought Bosch as being a company that makes high quality products and I have purchased and used many without issue. However I feel that they have either lowered their quality to make more money or are trying to reach a different type of consumer either way it equals some disappointing details on many of their products. I do find that the stove is very nice and solid and seems to work well so far. Just need to see their products in person. Sometimes when you think its metal its actually plastic.

I used to be a happy Bosch customer. I had a Bosch dishwasher for 10 years and liked it so much that I even recommended Bosch to my friends. Last year I bought a 500 DLX model. From the beginning I could see that the new machine did not clean my dishes as well as the old one. I have done everything the manual suggests and I am still dissatisfied with the performance. When I called Customer Service today the woman was not at all helpful, especially when she saw that I am two months past my 1-year warranty. I strongly object to the warranty starting when I purchased it. It was installed on Jan. 22, 2015, so it has been in use less than a year. It looks like I am stuck with an inferior appliance and I will not recommend this brand to anyone ever again.

A Bosch compact pair (each 24 inches wide) has been great for 15 years, and the dryer just died, and I replaced it with this unit so I could still plug the old Bosch washer into the dryer for power. Bosch is only making ventless dryers now, and I bought this against my better judgment because the reviews of the ventless dryers have been terrible. Bosch apparently went to ventless because of new regulations about lint fires in ducted dryers. This dryer is great! The automatic sensor is adjustable for different levels of dryness. It is faster than the previous vented Bosch dryer, and the clothes come out perfect. The fact that the washer spins to 1200 means the clothes are already pretty dry. If your washer does not spin at 1200, that might explain why clothes would take a long time to dry in this dryer. The condensation unit at the bottom of the dryer drains into a hose which empties into the same drain as the washer. (If you have a 3 prong outlet, the manual shows how you can rewire the dryer for a 3 plug cord, or you can replace the outlet) . Some warm dry air is emitted from the dryer and we use it to help heat the house when it is cold. Why waste this source of heat? In the summer I will direct the warm air into the garage or turn on the exhaust fan in the laundry room. In short, we are thrilled with this dryer. We have only had it a short time, and hope it will last as long as its predecessor.

I would give a negative start if it was possible. My Bosch microwave began turning on by itself. I purchased it with a paid warranty. I called Bosch in early February and they set up a time for someone to fix it in early March. The Bosch repairmen came and said he fixed it, however, the issue reappeared moments after he left. I called back. They set up another appointment and the repairmen did not show up when he was supposed to (of course they never gave me any notice). I called back and set up another appointment. Of course, the repairmen never showed up. I called Bosch and complained to a manager (who was the rudest manager I ever spoke with). He set up another appointment. This time the repairmen actually showed up with the parts but then informed me that the parts they ordered wont fix the issue. So they had to order different parts. So I set up another appointment for today. Surprise surprise, the Bosch repairmen never showed up (again with no notice). In summary, during the past 5 months, I have set up 5 appointments and have had 3 no shows (without any notice). I have complained to Bosch US, Bosch UK, and Lowes. I filed a formal written complaint to Lowes. I have spent over 15 hours calling Bosch. I have complained to 4 managers to no avail. 2 managers were supposed to call me back but they didnt. I am at a loss for what to do. Now all I want is my warranty money back or a new microwave. Can anyone help me????

Since I purchased my W&D nearly 3 years ago Ive had repair people called out at my expense twice. Then a couple of weeks ago my washer started leaking at the front-loading door-seal. I called Bosch to see if they would pick up the tab for this third unfortunate event. They would not. The major cost is, of course, the house call. The Bosch Customer Service (joke) rep told me that, at most, they would provide another door seal after I paid a repair person to come and look at the washer and state that it leaked, -- THEN, I must call the repair person back again (my fee, again) to install the seal that BOSCH so generously provided to me (after proof). Only then would I have a washer that twisted my clothes into a knot and annoyed me with constant beeps that I cannot turn off. What is wrong with these companies? Where is customer service? I bought their high end products and put my faith in them to help the environment by using less water and electricity, to the tune of 3X what a regular ol W&D cost. German engineering notwithstanding, I will never buy another Bosch product. I will wash clothes on a rock first!! And ya know what the really sad part is? The nice little Appliance Plus repairman in Surfside said on one of this visits that this was still the best washer and dryer made :(

Nice but not that nice. My salesman very highly suggested this dishwasher so I bought it for $900. The good? Its very good looking. The bad? I do not find it any better than a $500 dishwasher from GE. Its quiet but not silent. It seems to clean dishes fine but it will not dry them no matter what you try. I live in a very very dry part of the country and no matter how much or how little I load this machine up with... and select Extra Dry when I open the dishwasher in the morning after running at night... not only are the dishes and cups still wet but so is the inside of the dishwasher. So, whats the point of having controls to select dryness? Oh, the (3) not 4 legs are plastic and all 3 of them broke off when I tried to slide the dishwasher. Great huh? Funny, I know steel legs may cost another $5 but I dont remember arguing with the salesperson about $5. so why not raise the price by $5. and get rid of the cheap cheap cheap plastic legs. My brand new $900 dishwasher now sits on wooden blocks... Great idea... Plastic legs.

Bosch washing machine. Plenty of washing programmes. Good value for money. Quick wash is excellent. I have had the machine over ten years and would buy the same make again. Energy efficiency, brand reputation and price. Dryer would be a different purchase. I would look around and see the best one on the market so do not dry as well as others. A product that does not start to rust within the first twelve months, and no paint chipping and find out cost of spares. Some makes are expensive to repair. Very pleased with Bosch washing machine. I always get a clean wash. The one thing that does annoy me is the powder tray. This gets so black and over the years I have found weak bleach solution will clean the tray (when removed), but even this fails to stop the holes above the dispenser, becoming blocked with the black slime (caused by washing powder and plastic). I have had the unit replaced twice. I would like all manufacturers to try and resolve this problem. Rather expensive over ten years, but so far no other problems.

WFMC3200UC Washer NEXXT series - I believe this must be the first front loader Bosch made. If Id known at the time of purchase I NEVER wouldve paid the major bucks I paid. I think its 7 years old. My Mother has a top loader for 22 years. Beautiful, I think we replaced one part on the thing all these years. Anyway, I despise this washer. Its too small, takes almost 2 hours to cycle AND smells like mold. I have the top & back panels off to remove the out take drain tube which is visibly covered (inside) in black mold. Problem is the way its put together is like no other Bosch washer. Two weeks ago I found a video online which showed how to remove the thing and today I go to my bookmarks and NO VIDEO. Im about to throw myself on the floor and have a complete meltdown. WTF happened to the video? Ive looked for thirty minutes all over internet to no avail! Its a servicing video I know that and those are hard to come by. Help me lawd! Thought I might feel better writing this however I feel like upchucking. Thanks anyway. P.S. NEVER OWN ANOTHER BOSCH appliance EVER. Unless they paid me BIG bucks. **.

I purchased my first Bosch appliance (dishwasher) on 6/1/17 after making note of an Installation Rebate offer from Bosch via a Bosch Visa Prepaid Card. The stated purchase date was required to be between 5/17/17 and 6/7/17, which it was. I immediately completed the rebate form even though the latest required postmark must be by 7/7/17 (over a month away). They promised reimbursement within 8 weeks and gave a website and phone number to check its status. After 4 1/2 weeks I received a typed response from Bosch saying that they were unable to process the request because it did not meet the cash register receipt requirement (not dated within the time period designated for this offer). I immediately contacted Lowes, where I purchased the dishwasher. I spoke with the manager on duty and showed him the copies of the rebated offer, register receipt, response from Bosch, etc. The manager on duty phoned Bosch rebates directly and verified that the date on the receipt was within the required date range. He told me that Bosch claimed that the month of 6 looked like a 5. We found this to be strange because it was obvious to both of us that it was a 6 for June. It was/could also be verified by the date on my charge card. If one person was in doubt, due to poor eyesight, they could of easily asked someone else or used a magnifying glass; which shouldnt of been necessary. Anyway, the Lowes manager spoke with Bosch that it was the correct date, and that they would immediately process the rebate. The Lowes manager said I should receive it within 2 weeks. After 2 1/2 weeks I checked their website for my rebate status. It recognized my information and gave me a tracking number; plus stated I had to allow more time. Two more weeks later, I had still not received it (4 1/2 weeks after the Lowes managers phone call, and 9 weeks after purchase). I checked the website again for status. This time it never recognized my name/address (even though I had also completed warranty information on 6/20/17 after 6/18/17 installation). It never recognized my tracking number that it gave me 2 weeks earlier; and when I called their phone number, it never recognized my phone number. They had now lost all of my information (or so they claimed). I (we) both thought their first excuse was inexcusable, but possibly a mistake; but after the 2nd 4 1/2 week period it gives every appearance of being a scam (intentional). I no longer believe they intend to honor their rebate offers, and just expect most consumers to forget about it, not care about it, neglect to make copies before sent in, etc.; and just pocket the savings (this time for $145).

We purchased this Bosch model brand new about 2.5 years ago. We noticed intermittent cooling problems even during the first summer of use when it was hot outside but they were intermittent and therefore impossible to diagnose. At the end of this June the freezer compartment went up to 40 degs (it was 12 hours before we noticed it because the system did not alarm as it was supposedly designed to do). A repairman diagnosed the problem as a slow low side leak requiring $1200 to repair (not including the diagnosis which was another $250). Considering its short life span, it seems to be highly likely that this was a defective refrigerator at purchase time. Technically it is 6 months out of mechanical warranty by calendar days if you compute time from purchase to complete failure. However, anyone taking an honest look at this situation would conclude that the problem causing this failure started during the warranty period and Bosch should take responsibility for repairing it. As this problem seems to be posted fairly frequently I think it should be the subject of a legal action against Bosch. At the very least I advise anyone reading it to do a frequency search for this complaint and re-think the BOSCH purchase in lieu of a more reliable product.
