We moved into our home in July 2012 and have had nothing but problems from our Dacor refrigerator which was manufactured and installed in this home in 2007. The appliance repair company has been to our home approximately five times in the five weeks since we moved in. Initially, the problem was with a leak in the cooling system which took the technicians about 16 hours over three visits and $1,400 to sort out. Currently, we have been without a visit from the techs in two weeks (our longest stretch since moving in) and the refrigerator is leaking from the ice dispenser and making a motorized noise so loud. Initially, I thought a motorcycle had pulled into my kitchen. Needless to say, the technicians are on their way back.

We purchased a Dacor wall oven to replace a GE oven that was outdated. We thought we were getting a premium appliance, but after less than a year and just before the holidays it quit with a code on the control panel we couldnt find in the owners manual. We had a serviceman out and the cost of the part and the service call was more than we paid for the oven! It now sits there, useless and a reminder to never buy Dacor anything!

We have an 11 year old Dacor double oven with convection on top. The relay board malfunctioned and there are no parts to repair this. All Dacor would tell us is that they dont carry the parts anymore. Evidently, they are not required by law beyond about 8 years and that appears to be all they do. Our appliance repair person even contacted a company that rebuilds electronics and they cant get parts for this board. It is unbelievable considering what we paid for the oven. So we now have to replace it. Dacor offered us a discount on a new one. Not good enough. I cant imagine putting another Dacor product in. Two appliance service people have told me that Dacor has this reputation and they would not put them in their own houses.

First six month, dishwasher rusted on the inside. Dacor gave us a less expensive in its place. First year, microwave was repaired five times. Microwave has a piece of wood to hold the door in place. Wall Oven, the broiler never work. Present, range oven does not work at all. We have a repairman that is trying to get parts. Present, refrigeration control panel does not work, need repair. These appliances were to be a our luxury kitchen, but turn into a nightmare. Do not buy this appliance, you are wasting your money.

I submitted a review regarding a repair on this same refrigerator Dacor EF42BDCBSS back on 10/29/12 and 10/31/12. We now have another repair bill in the amount of $486.42 for a drain pan kit and defrost thermostat. I tried to contact Dacor by phone and email to talk about the situation, but have not received a response. I would highly recommend that you think twice about buying a Dacor brand refrigerator.

I wish we had seen these reviews before we spent 6k on an oven and cooktop. Ordered cooktop and oven in November. Custom color over to match cabinets, still have not received oven (were at the 8 week maximum wait time already). Cooktop appeared fine when we received, but when we went to install, noticed something rattling inside. Looking through vent, noticed several broken interior pieces moving around. Contacted Dacor 3 weeks ago for a replacement or repair, and still nothing. They made us go through dealer, and last week told dealer we refused service. Ridiculous! Now they are telling dealer they cant find a servicer nearby. Am considering declining payment through credit card company for their lack of follow through and service, and let them come get their unit.

When the beverage center was initially installed 5 or so years ago, I went to put wine bottles in the wine drawers and surprisingly, the shelves are too shallow to properly hold some of the bottles especially tall Riesling bottles. I contacted Dacor to get some response to the poor design and got no response. Now the unit wont chill and I have just paid a repairman $162 to tell me it is not repairable because the unit has a leak in the refrigeration system and it is within a foamed in area of the system. So after only 5 years, I am replacing my wine fridge, not what I would have expected from a brand that touts itself as being high end. I am very dissatisfied with Dacor and certainly will not be purchasing anything of that brand again.

I purchased my Dacor range in 07. After running the self clean cycle today, my oven wont heat up using convection or regular bake. Keep in mind, I had the entire electronic guts of the oven replaced in March 2011, 6 months ago after the same full failure. I paid $6,500 for this appliance. I wish I had my old GE oven back. This piece of equipment is only 4 years old. My husband and I dont use the oven often. What a huge disappointment! I will likely spend the next few days on the phone with customer service.

Purchased Dacor Wall Oven EO130SCH in 2011. Rarely used, so never used the self cleaning function. Occasionally wipe with microfiber cloth, eco-friendly cleaners like vinegar and Bon Ami and elbow grease. First problem in 2017 when the oven would not heat up, just before I had guests coming to stay with us. Dacor repair personnel could not make it out for a few weeks, so repaired the issue myself by resetting the thermostat with some creativity and effort. Next problem in 2018 with a U43 relay board error. Can use it for a while if turn off the power to the fuse box for a while, but in 2019 it also started making a clicking noise, and basically not functioning right before I needed it for a party. Cant replace the relay board (which costs more than $300 for the part itself) without pulling out the oven. But why is the relay board failing so quickly? Is there a fan cooling issue? Have talked to Dacor. Poorly designed, poor quality. I would never recommend Dacor.

Most of my life, Ive always bought pretty low end appliances, and theyve always worked pretty well. When we remodelled our kitchen, we decided to go with a high end Dacor stove, and its been nothing but trouble. After just a few weeks, the igniters started to fire constantly on some burners. It was still under warranty, but it was very hard to find someone to honor the warranty. We got that fixed, then the oven light started to come on and off randomly. After our experience with the first problem, we just disconnected the light and let it go. A few months later, the bottom shelf jammed, and there was no way to collapse it to fit in the oven. This product is total junk. Dont buy it!

In 2008, I purchased my dream home and had the opportunity to build my kitchen from scratch. At the time, I shopped Viking, Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Dacor. I made an appointment to tour the Dacor showroom and was blown away by the aesthetics and advertised performance of their line. I made the decision to fill my kitchen with Dacor products: dishwasher (ED24SCH), dual range (ER48DSCH), range hood (EH4818SCH), fridge, and microwave (DMT2420). To date, the fridge is the only appliance that has not malfunctioned. Within the first month, the microwave blew a fuse (covered by warranty). Within the first 6 months, the dishwashers motherboard blew (also covered by warranty).Since the 1-year warranties have expired, the range hoods electrical unit malfunctioned and ceased working properly ($400-plus in repair). The motherboard on the dishwasher has gone out twice ($1200-plus). The dishwasher rack has completely rusted and the wheels have fallen off ($800 to replace). The lights on my oven dial is out and the glass bottom inside the oven that covers the heating element has cracked (nothing has been spilled or dropped). In fact, I only use that side for Thanksgiving. I am extremely bummed (to say the least) and I feel that the products that I was sold do not live up to the quality level that they advertise. Additionally, the replacement parts are obscenely expensive, and at this time it makes more sense to replace the units rather than dump more money into a pit.

Dacor came through! They sent me, at no charge,a replacement part. This new part is supposed to fix the issue of ice cycles in the freezer. Its a new drainage system that actually heats the water in the pan so it does not freeze up causing the water to back up. I am hopeful that this will permanently fix the issue! But props to Dacor for stepping up to the plate to fix this! Thanks, guys!

When I bought my house, the previous owners told me that theyd been having problems with the Dacor oven. They had purchased a replacement burner and prepaid the Dacor authorized service technician to install it for us. We have worked for three years now to get Dacors authorized service representative to install the part for which he has already been paid, and have been using a toaster oven to prepare meals for a family of four the entire time. The oven will heat to 135 degrees, then either shut off completely or immediately switch to broiling mode and burn whatever is inside it. When I called Dacor to see if they could help with the service issue since the technician was authorized by them, they told me it was my problem, not theirs. Although if the product they manufactured wasnt faulty in the first place, it wouldnt be anyones problem!

Dacor Fuel Range broken door - My Dacor is by now 13 years old. I see from other reviews that the problems I have with my range have not been addressed in newer models--the same problems exist. When I received my Dacor, there was a crack in the front, above the door. It was small, and Id just had a baby so I let it go. I noticed that the door did not close either, and because I did not address it within a year, Im out of luck. But youd think that making an oven with a door that closes snug would be a top priority. It only closes properly when in cleaning mode. My oven window became brown and I cannot clean it. Its a shame that these things are messed up because the convection seems to work wonderful and the oven is fairly attractive. If the door closed all the way. Im getting ready to consider a new oven. Wont be a Dacor.

2017 purchased 36” range. First year- self cleaning overheated, replaced part. That was in 1 years warranty. But now: only 3 years barely: (I dont even cook much). Oven turns off by itself if I open the door. Oven does not turn off when I am done cooking. If I cook 450f pops warning of temp overheat. Called ABT service (this is where Dacor said) it cost $219 for a service guy to call dacor and to give me answer: I think it is android board. I have to buy a board. Plus per Dacor this board will not have wifi. So there is no Discovery- paid extra for extras I can not have...

Dacor dual fuel 30 inch range - First of all the look of the dacor is second to none in my opinion. The digital screen with blue lighting makes this a truly elegant part of any kitchen..... when it works. The range top itself worked flawlessly for me and the main burner was always more than enough. The problem with the range lies in the electronics. The unit has been in my home for over a year and has worked for less than a month total. An error code appeared when ever the oven gets hot. C33, C1, 0000, 1111, C11. Ive seen it all. I have had the main board replaced twice and my local repairman is on first name basis with even my dogs at this point. The final straw for me was when the oven door glass shattered while cooking and when dacor was contacted they said that happens. Im think Ill try Viking.....

Updated on 01/25/2021: After my review in December of 2020 I have continued to fight for a resolution with Dacor. Dacor appeared to be unable to resolve the issue and sent the issue to parent company Samsung. Samsung set up an appointment for repair then cancelled it saying parts were not available and that they would authorize a refund. I supplied the invoice and filled out all necessary documentation, including my banking information so they could wire the money. Today, a Samsung representative called and said I needed to talk to Dacor to finish the process, even though I was told everything was approved.I called Dacor and to no ones surprise they said this would have to be approved and only one person can make that decision and they are hard to get in touch with. Oh, and by the way, 10 days ago the second oven failed. Yes, the large oven that did not work when I purchased the unit. It was repaired in September and has already failed again. I now have a double oven Dacor range and neither works. This week begins my 10th week of fighting with Dacor for them to honor my warranty (again the unit was installed in August 2020) or refund the purchase price. At this point the range has been out of commission half the time I have owned it. I strongly suggest you heed the warnings here on this site. I wish I had listened.Original Review: On August 3, 2020 I purchased a 48 Dacor Gas Range. It was installed a couple of weeks later and the large oven did not work. It took better than a week for Dacors authorized service company to come out and diagnose the problem. The parts took another week to be shipped and then another week to have the repair made. It was a defective thermostat that was preventing the oven from igniting.Fast forward to November 24. In preparing for a big Thanksgiving, we turned on the small oven, only to find that it did not turn on. It had the exact symptom as the large over and would not ignite. I reached out by email to the agent at Dacor who had worked with me before, only to receive the below response: Thank you for contacting Dacor – We are no longer able to provide support by e-mail. Please contact us at U.S. Toll free: 833-353-5483 we are happy to provide personal support. Now begins the worst customer service experience of my lifetime. After opening a case, I have now talked with a dozen different agents and have yet to receive a resolution to my problem - a range that cost over $7,000 that did not work out of the box and has now failed again in a three-month period. I have spent hours on the phone and on hold and was eventually directed to Samsung on December 9 because Dacor could not get the parts. Samsung promised to refund the purchase price of the product is the parts did not come available by December 16.December 16 rolled around and now Dacor is saying that Samsung made the promise, but that they are different companies. Remember, Dacor directed me to Samsung and Samsung does own Dacor. I have been told that the parts for my oven are no longer available. After continuing to push the issue I am told that it is now in management review but that it may take 2 weeks for a decision on my case. It has now been nearly a month since I opened the case and I appear no closer to reaching a resolution on my failed Dacor range. I have asked to speak with a manager, but I keep being told this is not possible right now.I do believe that Dacor is in breach of their warranty. I have been more than reasonable in allowing them to remedy the situation. Since this was installed just over four months ago, it has been out of service in one of the two ovens for a total of 7 weeks. For anyone considering the purchase of a Dacor appliance, I strongly caution you to read the reviews on this site and other sites. If you are lucky and get an appliance that works and never fails, you might be happy. If you ever have to invoke your warranty you will hate your life. I regret that I did not heed the warnings. It is truly unbelievable to me that in 2020, any company can stay in business when they display such disregard for their customers. Be warned.

Previously, I submitted a complaint here and I would now like to amend it. The problem(s) that I experienced with my 8 years old Dacor 30-inch wall oven was what I described in my earlier post (July 9, 2012). But after posting here, I was contacted by a Dacor representative not once, but several follow-ups to ensure that the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. It was and Im now very impressed with Dacors customer support. To be fair, I should have contacted Dacor with my problem before blasting their product here.It has been a good oven for 8 years and given their support that Ive recently experienced, Id be more inclined to purchase Dacor products in the future as it appears theyre willing to stand behind what they sell. Im really glad this issue was resolved because I was about to throw in the towel and buy something else, but couldnt find anything else that looked near as good as my Dacor and had glowing product performance reviews.

We thought we bought a quality product when we remodeled our kitchen two years ago and put in a $3000 30 inch wall oven from Dacor through their dealer Friedman’s in Knoxville. We had heard for years that their products were top notch and high-quality. I find it interesting that the oven has a self-cleaning function. However Dacor Technical advised me that if you use the self-cleaning function you will create too much heat and destroy the motherboard. Wonderful input after the fact. The oven now does not keep a correct temperature and we are advised that our oven is two years old and out of warranty and we should not have used the self clean function. Really? Why is the button even there. Do not under any circumstances purchase any Dacor product. I feel comfortable in saying Samsung will add absolutely nothing to the quality or service. The lack of customer care and concern is beyond reproach. One star rating is way too generous. How do you just walk away from your products. We used our clean function exactly once and nobody ever said it was a self destruct button.

In 2001, I bought a Dacor dual range stove. I paid over $2000. My problem is that there is a defect in the product; when you use the self-cleaning, the outside of the stove cracks up. Dacor has replaced this three times and each time it cracks again. I spoke with them about a year ago and because I didnt continue the warranty, they wouldnt replace it. I carry a home warranty. My stove looks like it came from the junkyard. I understand them not repairing a physical problem with the stove but the outside is crumbling because of a defect in their product. If you dont clean the oven, then you get an error and the only way to get it off is to clean but all that dose causes the outside to crack up more. It pains me to think of buying a new range when I thought I had done my homework, when I choose Dacor. I hope this isnt too late, but it pains me to think after another cleaning I may be forced to buy another stove.

Updated on 02/23/2021: Its been several weeks since I first posted. The only reply that Ive received was an email via this site that requested information from me on my claims. What I did receive was a notice from Samsung (who has acquired Dacor) telling me that one of my service tickets has been cancelled. I dutifully called the listed number to get more information... only to be told that the Samsung customer service rep could not help me and that I needed to call Dacor. Ive tried to approach this matter with humor up to this point but I am out of patience. Given the price I paid for these products, I expected a premium customer experience... the experience I have received has been abysmal.Original Review: I did not think that a customer experience could be this AWFUL or that a vendor could seem to care less than Dacor cares about resolving my issues. After 5 months, the exhaust downdraft that we purchased still does not work and Dacor either does not respond or - when I can get someone on the phone - I get any number of standard excuses (parts shortages, Covid, port backlogs are delaying deliveries, the integration with Samsung, etc, etc). I am also missing basic parts such as shelves(!) that should have been installed during the original installation. The retail partner (Specialty Appliance) does not seem to have anymore luck in getting answers.

A third visit was required as the oven codes shut down the unit. The last two service calls have been with the cooling fan. Now that the fan was replaced, the relay board needs replacement, too. When my husband and I built our home 11 years ago, I splurged and got a Dacor ERD36 36 dual fuel range. During the process of our build, our builder dropped my range during the installation. Dacor was very quick to send out a servicer to make sure the performance of the range was not compromised. The only thing that needed to be replaced was a bent bullnose in the front and the kickplate. I have had one service call in 11 years, which was last year after a brownout in my neighborhood caused my clock and oven setting to go crazy. It had nothing to do with function and had nothing to do with shoddy manufacturing. I just got it fixed and continue to use my range every day. I am looking to expand my island because I need another oven and I am very excited to add a Dacor oven to my home with zero hesitation. I am looking at a DO130S. I would buy Dacor over and over again!

Arrived in good condition and so far works perfectly. Delivery was delayed by one day because of the incompetence of my local mail service. I bought this microwave, as others have described, to replace a 13 year old Dacor that had not really died but had lost the electronic screen. We put magic marker numbers on the display screen where the numbers had been 5 years ago and kept using all the functions. I decided to replace as, without the display screen, I could not do anything semi sophisticated with this microwave but its motor and microwave capacity was still going strong. This model fits perfectly into the previous 24/27 trim kit. Unfortunately our other trim kit is white to match our old microwave. Decor only has stainless steel now. And the new trim kit for this microwave is flat without the vent slats (plus costs over $300!). From the placement in our cabinet, I think the vented slats are really important to dissipate heat and am puzzled by the change in design by Dacor. The slats are a little tedious to clean but as a TV is above the microwave and an oven below I want the heat to have a better place to go. Ebay has the old trim kit in stainless steel but so far the expense seems excessive for just the outside piece. The internal support bracket for the new microwave is exactly the same as for the previous model so the only part of the trim kit needed for my microwave is the outside frame. This newer model works very similarly to the older version. I am delighted Dacor still makes this microwave to fit my space 13 to 15 years later.

About 3 years ago, I spent almost $5,000 on a Dacor double oven. We had it less than 3 months when the motherboard had to be replaced. About 3 months ago, I started to get various error codes and a continuous beeping. An authorized Dacor service repairman has replaced the motherboard three times. He was on the phone each time with Dacor, however we still get the error codes and Dacor has told the service repairman that they are stumped and dont know how to fix it.Here I am, having a beautiful expensive oven to look at but was unable to cook a turkey for my family yesterday! It seems that there is a major error in this oven, and I am stuck with a huge repair bill and an oven that does not work. I can only hope that Dacor will step up to the plate and come up with a solution or replace the oven which obviously is a lemon.

We purchased a Dacor wall oven when we renovated our kitchen in 2010. After five service calls, a replaced circuit board and broiler element, they found a broken wire which must have happened during clean cycle. I have been without an oven for two months and would not recommend buying a Dacor oven because I think it has a faulty design. The issue is still ongoing.

The Dacor dishwasher had problems engaging and activating the cycle. We finally had enough and purchased a Bosch dishwasher even though the rest of our kitchen is Dacor. The new Dacor was $1600+ and the reviews on all their dishwashers since 2007 are one out of five stars. Dacor knows there is a problem and wont rectify it with the consumer. An amiable young man called from Dacor. He stated he would help me on any future problem with the other appliances. Why irritate the ** out of Dacor consumers when your company has had a history of irate consumers, specifically regarding the dishwasher. This certainly doesnt increase sales and only angers the base.

My Decor Epicurian oven and range has been a nightmare from day one. I have had the oven for about 8 years and had it repaired so many times I have lost count and had spent at least $2000 on repairs. We have experienced motherboard burn out, membrane failure, temperature control malfunctions, error messages that cause incessant beeping. Nearly all of the problems that have been described in this list of complaints, I have had the problems themselves multiple times! Now, I am panicking a bit because I decided to use the self clean function on my oven this morning and now, I have read some sad malfunction stories following the use of this feature. I am so torn about whether I should just cancel the cleaning process. I do not want to risk having the oven malfunction again, but the thing really needs to be cleaned.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2002 and chose the Dacor 36 dual-fuel range. I was preparing a pork roast for a dinner party with the oven on Bake. The roast was just not coming up to temperature, though the display indicated that the oven was at the temperature I set. I wound up slicing the roast and cooking it on the griddle; my hungry guests were getting restless. Then I tracked the oven heat for an entire day with an oven thermometer. The oven would come up to temperature and then cool off. I sent these numbers to Dacor and asked customer service for an explanation. Believe it or not, the conversation was--Dacor: The temperature is going down because the fan is coming on. Youre not supposed to use the Bake setting, but only the Convection Bake or Pure Convection. Me: Why is the Bake button there, then? Dacor: Were taking it out in the next production run. (This hasnt happened. My sister-in-law bought a Dacor last year before I could warn her and the button is still there.) Also, after using the self-clean one time, I noticed a crack on the inside of the oven door, starting in the corner of the window. The inside of the window is now permanently spotted with baked-on grease. Now my oven does not work at all. The repairman says that the circuit board needs to be replaced, and if Im lucky, it will work for a couple of years. The repair will cost around $700 including labor. The repairman told me that some repairmen in our area will not even work on Dacors because there are so many problems. Im considering replacing the stove... a very expensive mistake. Beware of Dacor products.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2006. I spent a fortune on a Dacor dual fuel gas cooktop with electric oven/convection oven. My Dacor problems seem so normal I mostly deal with it. My 2 biggest complaints are the glass oven door is not airtight, it is darkened between glass, very hard to monitor my baking. And the temp gauge has always been off by 15-25 degrees. I use an in oven temp gauge, which has been calibrated so I know it works. If anyone is planning on a Dacor, you will get the best looking range. It just wont work.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

The control electronic part was replace then less than a year later the user interface had to be replaced. Less than a year after the user interface was replaced, the oven completely stopped working. After calling the same repair guy to come fix it, they informed me that the company no longer sells the control interface. When I called the company, the only options they gave me were to send the part to a third party refurbish company and have them fix it. That means I would have to call the service repair company for the FOURTH time to have them remove the part, I would need to send it away to get fixed and call them back to put it back in. Dacor didnt even offer to pay for any of this. The customer service rep offered to give me a discount on a new unit. Are you kidding me?!? Please do yourself a favor and dont buy anything from this company. They dont back up their products and its clear they dont care about their reputation. Its a waste of money to be spend on high end appliances that are poorly made. Spend less from a different company thats been around for a long time. At least if a part goes, youll have reassurance they will have that part handy. A terrible company. I hope they go belly up soon so they can stop selling overly priced kitchen appliances to people.

The electronics on the first two induction burners failed within six months which was covered under warranty. The second two went three weeks after the warranty and we had to argue with Dacor to cover them otherwise it is a $1400 repair job. From day one whenever you open the oven door the controls and heat shut off. Sometimes it turns back on when you close the door. As for the downdraft, it worked fine until 10 weeks ago when while closing, the cover lip hit a wooden spoon that had been lying flat near the edge. There is no safety feature and the motor continued to try and close the fan. The unit would not respond and would not re-open. The spoon had to be broken to get it out. If this was a childs finger you would have had to call 911. We now have a repair bill of over $350 and are still waiting for 2 months for Dacor to send a part. We will never buy this brand again.

We had only the Dacor or Jenn-Air stoves as choices and went with the Dacor. I have been thoroughly pleased. Everything works consistently including the self-cleaning feature. Prior to this stove, we had a Thermador which was expensive and NEVER worked consistently. One feature or another was always on the brink. The Dacor is such a relief. And good looking, too.

Weve had to replace the freezer heating element (twice) because it fails and then the freezer ices up causing the system to stop cooling. This past week the fan began making a noise and so we had repairmen come out (yet again). Technician confirmed that the pan motor (fan in freezer) has failed. NO PART is available... I couldnt believe that parts wouldnt be available for a $10,000 high-end refrigerator that was purchased new only ten years old. I called Dacor directly and asked them how long they make parts available after they retire a model. The Dacor representative told me that they make parts available for 7 years. 7 YEAR PART AVAILABILITY ON AN APPLIANCE THAT SHOULD LAST 15-20 YEARS??? RUN AWAY FROM DACOR. Obviously customer service is low on their priority list. We will be replacing our gorgeous $10,000 ten-year old Dacor refrigerator/freezer (now a boat anchor) with Sub-Zero. In addition, all of the sensors had to be hard wired when the oven stopped working, and our service technician was informed by Dacor that moisture tended to get into the sensors on these ovens. We spent nearly $1500 on these repairs. Reaching a customer care representative at Dacor can take upwards of 20 minutes. Phone calls are not returned. We just purchased our home in March of this year. The previous homeowner purchased a Dacor oven; it is electric & propane. She purchased the appliance after a complete home renovation in 2008. They lived in the home. After 1 year, they moved out and had it on the market. We purchased the home in 2012. As soon as we moved in, we noticed the oven was not working. We called an appliance repairman - $564.00 service call and part for a new relay switch. It was great; the oven worked. Not even a day later, an F1 error. We called them back out thinking they must have done something incorrectly. They then said we needed a new control panel. We did not have an additional $400.00. We just moved, so he said you could still use the oven. We did. We would use it and flip the breaker off so we did not have to hear the annoying beeping sound. Then I came home and bam - no display, no oven. We called a different Dacor certified appliance guy thinking the first company was just taking us for a ride and it was their fault. $572.00 later, we got a new control panel, but guess what, the technician did not even make it to his truck before beep, beep, F1. He came back in and then said we needed to replace the display screen - an additional $217.00 with no labor charge. We told the man to shove it. I had every plan of taking the oven to our back tank and using it for target practice. But in good business practice, since this company already invested $572.00, we could not ask them to eat the money, so we allowed a third fix of the oven. While the technician was here, the oven made a horrible loud sound and shot out flames. He insisted maybe it was due to it sitting for a week without use. He left. I never noticed this flame before when the oven worked despite the F1 beeping. Now it’s hit and miss. Some days it will shoot out a flame once until it reaches 200+ degrees and then you can hear the fan kick in. Some days, twice, I have had it happen 3 times. If my children were to open the door during this event, I am sure they would be seriously burned. At first I was thinking maybe it is normal for this oven to shoot out flames during preheat mode since after $1300.00 repairs maybe it is just not functioning correctly. But if it were a normal function of the product, to me it would do it every time consistently and not three times, or two times on some occasions. I hate to admit this but I am almost fearful of using my oven. I currently have a pie to put in for dinner and I’m thinking its 3:09 pm; I could set the oven to preheat while I run to get my kids from school so if it decides to blow up, I am not home and that is pretty sad. The last repairman we had come out said in his personal opinion, he wouldn’t have repaired the oven, because they are known for issues, and he would have gone to Lowes and spent $300.00 on any off brand stove first. We have considered that, but this stove is extra-wide and the cabinetry is built around it. So for us to purchase an oven to slide right back in it would be another $1300.00-$2000.00. We have issues with the burners not always wanting to light. I almost caught on fire lighting one because it shot out flames when it decided to finally ignite. Sometimes it just clicks. Currently, I am down to two burners when just two days ago all six were working just fine. Over Thanksgiving, it took no kidding 1-hour to cook brown and serve rolls because the oven did not reach the set temperature. We stuck my husband’s bbq thermometer to see. It was 256 degrees, not the desired 350 degrees. Does this stove have warranty? We have no clue as the previous homeowner purchased the stove. She claims to have spent $5,000.00 on this stove or more during their purchase. We do not have warranty on our home so for each repair, it is out of pocket for us, and currently we really are thinking any knock off brand at Lowes would be a better product than a Dacor oven and less of a safety hazard for our family.

I purchased a Dacor Black Dual Fuel Range (RSD30B) in 2001 which was installed during a kitchen remodel. We moved back into the house on 12/24/01. We hardly ever use the oven because my husband barbeques every night. In less than 5 years, a piece of the plastic front control panel fell off. In early 2008 the self cleaning function broke (error F2). I called Dacor and they referred me to a repair service. It was going to cost almost $500 to repair so, given that we use the oven so little, I decided not to spend the money on an oven that was falling apart. Now within the last two years the plastic control panel is cracked across the front and more pieces are starting to fall off. Now the clock and the timer have stopped working. I called Dacor again today and was told that the seals and hinges on the oven are probably bad, which is contributing to the problem. The customer service person was rude and unhelpful. He said it was not unusual for a ten year old oven to break. He gave me contact information for a parts dealer and two repair services. I bought this oven believing it was a high quality and I expected them to stand behind their product. What can you do to help me?

Dacor Double Oven Model D0230 - I have had my oven since November 2011. I purchased an extended warranty at the time of buying the oven. Right after it was installed, I called and said they needed to come and adjust the temperature control. It was off at least 50 degrees. It never held the correct temperature. Since July, we have had to replace 2 relay boards, two other parts that should take care of erratic temperature. Then I noticed the gasket was turning black in the corner and my glass pack in the window was steaming up and not clearing. The extended warranty would not cover the glass replacement and I was charged $126. They said it was cosmetic, but this was so bad that I couldnt see through half the glass. The steam stained the glass and you could not clean it, because it was inside two pieces of glass. Do not buy a Dacor oven. In 38 months I have so many repairs that I have lost track.

We acquired a $7,500 Dacor refrigerator when we bought a house this year. The fridge was only 5 years old. First of all it made horrendous noise when operating. Secondly the ice maker didnt work. Thirdly the freezer cooling unit died last week. How can a $7,500 refrigerator be designed so badly? I found out through Dacors authorized service company that it was quite likely the freezer could be fixed with a $400 part and some $250 in labor. The technician hinted that this problem was quite common with Dacor refrigerators. I contacted Dacor and suggested that their Internet reviews were terrible and they should help defray the costs of their premature failed unit. I was thinking that for a 5 year old product they should reimburse 50-75% of the total cost to repair. They said they would give me a 25% discount on the retail value of the parts only. In other words - I would be on the hook for at least $600 of the estimated $700 fix. This was a slap in the face. They dont seem to realize that their companys future business is only built on satisfied customers. I cant believe such expensive equipment can be so poorly designed and supported. Mercedes Benz... they are not. Lest anyone think that I am a frothing upset complaining consumer - I will tell you that I am currently retired, and formerly CEO of a $200 million public software company. I know something about building a business and I know something about focusing on customer satisfaction. I would urge anyone reading this review to stay away from all Dacor products. After purchasing what I thought would be ovens of a lifetime I could not be more disappointed, frustrated and angry at a company in my buying history! Since November of 2014 and longer I have been fighting for service or answers or at least honesty! The ovens have never worked properly, they do not keep temperature. The oven temperature drops 60 to 75 degrees while cooking over a couple hours. The control board was replaced. Still the ovens never worked. If you like to cook and cook for the bed and breakfast, which is why you bought an oven like this, you will have your ovens on for a couples hours preparing any multi-dish meal! I was treated rudely on the phone during routine troubleshooting and was never allowed to speak to a manager. I bought a Dacor dual-fuel range in 2002 for my new house. Within 18 months, the control panel on the front had shorted, causing the stove to emit a continuous beeping. I got this repaired, and was advised that I should not use liquid cleaners on the stove! Two years later, the same thing happened again. Finally, about 4 years ago, another fault developed in the 3rd control panel, the circuit controlling the oven lights will not respond to touch, and the oven lights switch on and off continuously. Not prepared to pay for yet another control panel replacement, I switched off the power to the stove at the main fuse box. I have continued to use the gas cooktop only, lighting it with an ignition wand. The Dacor stove is only part-functional due to what is obviously a severe design fault in the front touch control panel, which causes the panel to short. I switch on the power to the unit twice a year to use the oven at Thanksgiving and Christmas for large roasts. This stove was a very expensive mistake. Luckily, I have a second (Wolf) oven in my kitchen, which I use instead for everyday cooking.

Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way, rending it inoperable. The company is now owned by Samsung. I tried to schedule a service call to repair/replace the door hinges. This should be a simple process. However, because I purchased the oven through a designer and Dacor dealer, I had to track down the order verification to demonstrate that I am the original owner of the oven (this is in addition to providing a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase). It took several days to resolve this issue with my designer and rep who sold me the oven. Then, I scheduled the service call on the phone only to receive an email hours later advising me that the service call had been cancelled. No explanation was provided. After rescheduling the service call several times only to have each call cancelled, something finally worked with Samsungs tracking system and the service call actually took place.Dacor is the Mercedes of ovens and I expect a service call to be a little more expensive. However, other providers of luxury products facilitate the product support to minimize customer aggravation. Samsung needs to work on its product support and customer service. I would not purchase a Dacor product again since there are several other manufacturers that provide comparable luxury kitchen appliances with much strong customer support.

Dacor 27 electric double oven unreliability. Almost from first use the Dacor electric double oven has been plagued with problems including but not limited to door not locking when self cleaning, not self cleaning, door not unlocking upon completion of self cleaning, and filter issues. Since purchased in 2013 the top oven has been used between 75 and 100 times; the bottom oven less than 25 times. Yesterday the oven died. First error message U43 relay board. Second U60 cooling fan. Worse when the control board responsive/froze circuit breakers were needed to turn oven off.Repair estimate is $1600 plus tax. I intend to replace the overpriced and unreliable Dacor with a Kitchen Aide at approximately 13 the price based on customer and Consumer Reports reviews plus a new one year guarantee. I do not recommend the Dacor double oven if you are a serious cook and/or frequent user. We built a home in 2006 and installed all Dacor appliances. I would never ever purchase these products again. My gas cooktop was the top of the line product from Dacor and I have had nothing but problems with it for 5 years now. I have spent over $1000 fixing the large burner that continues to have leaks with the seal to the point where the flames come out the bottom of the burner. Most of the other burners click when lit even though they are clean and away from a draft. I have had 2 Dacor approved repair companies out and they both recommended against Dacor. In addition, the finish on the cooktop has soaked in my heavy duty cooking juices and foods and the stains will not come out. Apparently, this is due to the new finish they used so that the metal can withstand the high temperatures. If this company were an auto mfg., they would have had to do recalls and face potential class action suits. I would prefer to be cooking on a camp stove rather than my Dacor. When I contacted Dacor, they offered parts at a reduced rate which still cost a fortune. When I asked about replacement, they said they would sell to me at a discounted rate which was still $2400. Bad product, bad company. My cooktop is still giving me issues. it is embarrassing to cook with friends around because of the problems.

We were incredibly disappointed, not only with the range but with the customer service from Dacor. We purchased this range in January 2016 and here we are in July with what is basically a pan holder sitting uselessly in our kitchen. Problems started immediately. The first time I used the oven, it locked with the cooking food inside. It turned out that the thermostats on both ovens were so out of whack that the oven temperature reached self-cleaning mode levels so the ovens locked with the food inside! We had both thermostats replaced twice and still had the same problem. Eventually, the thermostats were calibrated, but still within a range. In addition, the switch for the convection oven just stopped working. After 6 months of trying to deal with this problem, we will be returning the range and replacing it with a different brand. At no point did Dacor offer to exchange the range, they simply kept sending a repair person.

It works for about 15 to 20 minutes and then stops and there is no way to restart or reset it.

I purchased my Dacor Distinctive #DT0127 wall oven in 2015 and have been very pleased with the product to date. However after running a self-clean cycle the oven does not work which was a surprise given the fact that I had previously done self-cleans before without any problems. I immediately contacted Dacor customer service who were amazing! The CSR that I spoke with kindly extended my warranty until 2018 even though I had not registered my oven with them upon purchasing it. He also arranged a service call for me that would be covered under the extended warranty. I am very impressed with the companys attention to service as I really love my oven. Even though I experienced this issue I would still recommend this product.

I purchased my 30 range and was so excited! Well no longer. First the wrong range was delivered. I had to wait another three weeks for the correct one. My oven can not cook at all. Temp fluctuates by 100 degrees. Going on my third service call and still not working. It very unfair, I have to take time off work to wait for repair person, then nothing is fixed. I wish I could return this lemon. But after reading other reviews I am not alone. Why is this company not accountable for ripping hard working people off. I love cooking. Its my passion. My Kenmore Elite was half the price and far more superior.

Epicure Range, wall oven, microwave and fridge - When remodeling our kitchen in 2010, an appliance salesperson gave us a good deal on the entire set. We spent $20k on the Dacor appliances. BIG MISTAKE! Do not ever buy anything Dacor. We have issues with every single one. Where do I start? The ovens have gone out three times now and I have had to replace the main panel, now it will not heat at all. The refrigerator 42 built-in is a big piece of crap! We have had it serviced 4-times for everything. The entire fridge freezes over due to a design flaw. The fan in the freezer completely ices over. The ice door broke. The crushed ice broke. The plastic door for the butter broke. The shelves broke. The microwave has had issues and has had to be fixed. The oven temps were wrong. Fixed those myself thanks to YouTube. When talking to the service guy he said that these are cheap appliances with the Dacor badge, so you have to spend big bucks to buy them and big bucks to repair! Do yourself a favor and if you are thinking of Dacor run! I contacted Dacor and they are even worse to deal with. They did not care that their appliances are very unreliable. Never received a return call, email, or even a letter.

I have a Dacor refrigerator that cools poorly and needs servicing. Refrigerator manufacture date March 2017. When I acquired the refrigerator I signed up for the Dacor standard warranty (1 year) and the Promotional additional 2-year Dacor standard warranty advertised as 3-For-Free warranty. I contacted Dacor customer support by phone today. After an hour on hold, they said that they would have to check with their supervisor. 2 hours later I received a call back saying that its only a 2-year warranty. Their website where I registered my product (warranty.dacor.com/member) clearly indicates that my refrigerator is still under warranty. When I confronted them with this, their answer was anyone can register anything on the website and it proves nothing. In other words, registering your product offers you absolutely no protection.I provided their supervisor all documentation requested, (including proof of title of ownership of my house!), and they still repeatedly stated its only a 2 year warranty. When asked where they are getting this information, they simply said thats what we have in our system. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they said none were available. I left a message with the supervisor, but none ever returned my call.Dacor continues to offer their 3-For Free warranty to this very day. As a busy physician, I keep good records and pay attention to detail. Dacor has been to my home previously without incident. I am extremely disappointed in what appears to be the companys blatant attempt to deny warranty coverage despite ample documentation that its still covered. I would caution folks that their 3 year for Free warranty is simply not true based on my personal experience today. I will no longer be purchasing any Dacor products because of this, and will relay my story to anyone interested in purchasing Dacor products.

My wife and spend $12k on a new Dacor range/oven 15 years ago. The range works well, the LED lights on the gas knobs needed changed once in a while, the oven door wouldn’t close properly and the heat in the oven wasn’t distributed evenly. All that we could live with. Then the oven died. The repair technician ordered the part. Samsung don’t make it anymore. We are now left with no oven. So we have spent $800 a year on a Dacor range that now doesn’t work. Thanks Dacor… or Samsung?

I bought the refrigerator less than a year for over $4,000 and the vegetable drawer chipped. When I called Dacor, I was told that it was a cosmetic issue and was given a number to call and order the part. For a refrigerator less than a year and costing that much, I thought it should fall under its warranty. Another issue is the ice maker. It wont dispense ice and I have to always pull the ice bin and put it back in. The Dacor customer service said that its because air gets into the ice bin when I dispense ice and thats the solution. Once again, for such an expensive refrigerator under 1 year old, I would think customer service would be more customer oriented. Never again!

Front bevel of my first rsd30 range purchased in California in 1999 cracked within nine months. Dacor said it was a defect in the design and would fix it for free. I sold the house in 2001 but the range was still not fixed. I moved to Nevada and bought a new rsd30 range and same thing happened within six months. It took a year to get it fixed at their expense. This bevel also cracked again for the second time in March 2011. Their response to this was to offer me a new bevel for $180 and I would have to pay for the installation. I declined the offer. The bevel is still cracked at this time. At the same time, I bought a PMOR30 over the range microwave and the front handle broke at least four times. And finally, the whole thing broke down and was not repairable. In Aug. 2008, I contacted Dacor and they agreed to replace it with a new DMT2420 over the counter microwave for half the price ($390). Last week, this one blew up on me. Sparks were coming out through the side and a big hole in the removable shield and burn damage to the wall of the unit. I do not believe this unit is repairable. I contacted Michael at Dacor. He apologized and said that theres nothing they can do about it as it is out of warranty but they will look into it. What I want at this point is my money back that I paid for ($390) and for them to pick up the unit and get it out of my house. I will never buy another Dacor product again.

From the beginning, August 1997, 17 years ago, I was not able to use my oven after self-cleaning. The problem was never resolved after countless service calls totaling over $1500. Aside from the cost, I was inconvenienced every time I cleaned my oven, as I was not able to use it until it was serviced, about a two week wait. I contacted Dacor early on and they reluctantly agreed to extend my warranty for a year. They did nothing beyond that, and my oven still shuts down after self-cleaning, which I hesitate to do at all, until it is beyond needing cleaning! The circuit board was replaced and recently the cooling fan was changed, but....no luck. Buying a new oven is not an alternative, as the oven performs well in every other way and I simply cannot afford one. I cannot believe a company of such status is not interested in satisfying its customers.

We remodeled our kitchen less than 5 years ago. As we have owned restaurants in the past, we wanted commercial quality appliances. I was looking at Sub-Zero and Viking or Wolf. Unfortunately I took my Home Center convince me to purchase A Dacor package. That was a mistake. Even though these appliances cost as much as the those brands, the quality is not even close. After spending $22,000 on appliances I have quickly discovered that these appliances are junk. First the microwave began to arc and nearly caught fire. Even when they installed my cooktop. I noticed that the burners in the middle were marked incorrectly and the blue LED indicating the burners are on was burnt out. After only a few years, now my ovens are not working. And right before Thanksgiving I am without ovens. My old ovens were almost 50 years old and worked fine. These $6000 plus ovens are not even 5 years old and are down. I am kicking myself for not going with my original plan. If you are considering Dacor, I would not recommend.

We purchased this oven/cooktop was installed in February 2020. I have been unhappy with the performance of the smaller oven from the beginning. It takes 20 minutes to pre-heat, a loud fan starts to run partway during the pre-heating process and then warm air starts to flow out the bottom. Plus, it is not either holding the correct temperature or not reaching it completely, nothing I cook in there is done in a appropriate amount of time. Baking a small potato takes an hour and a half at 375, brownies take almost twice the approximate baking time. My attempts to contact them have been less than satisfactory. I wrote for a second time over two weeks ago providing a copy of the invoice and have still heard nothing. I am quite disappointed with this product & company.

As I have read in most of the reviews, we have also experienced the control panel on our 30 inch dual range cracking over the years. We were told not to replace it because it would continue to happen. Ok, lived with that... Now something new has started to happen, the plastic handle on the oven door and surrounding area has started to melt. It got so bad after a self clean that it is collapsing. Now there isn’t much of a seal at all when the door closes. The stove isn’t brand new, but this has to be a fire hazard, and consequently, now the oven will not even turn on. I’ve reached out to Dacor with no response yet. I’m done with this company!

Dacor range - After I posted my comments on August 8th, I was contacted by Dacor customer service immediately and the new part was sent to me free of charge. I do have to pay the labor, but the part was what was expensive before. They did give me an explanation as to why this was happening - the hinges on the door wear out and the door doesnt shut properly so that heat escapes. Should this be happening with a stove that was this expensive? I dont think so, but I am happy with the customer service I received from Dacor this time.

We purchased a very expensive Dacor double convection oven about 15 years ago. This was based on recommendations from friends who do a lot of cooking like we do, and the mistaken thought that this US company would be more inclined to support any future problem. We now have a problem with the control panel. Dacors only response is that they do not make the part anymore and cannot help us remedy the problem. They even had the nerve to say that they would give us 10% off a new one. Except for the annoying buzzer sound, the stove works well. Buying a new one is a financial burden we never expected or want to accept. We are telling all of our friends to stay away from this manufacturer. I wish I did not have to give Dacor any stars.

This is the second time I have purchased these appliances and unfortunately each one has been a great disappointment. I have spent enough in repair bills to almost purchase a warming drawer. Each one shuts down when the self clean button is turned on, and then I have to call a repairman out to recalibrate the oven to work each time I try to use the self clean. I was told by the last repairman that the life of the oven is greatly shortened if you the self clean mode. If this is the case, either fix it or take out this mode. After I had the oven about a year the oven door glass blew out, and this had to be replaced. The temperature in the oven is very unreliable in different areas of the oven and browns more on one side than the other... For the high end cost of these ovens, I would just as soon have a basic oven that works and does not go out every few months. What a waste of money I consider Dacor to be, and will never recommend it to anyone I know. I am in the personal shopping business and have my own company, but will tell my clients to be very aware of the high cost/low performance of Dacor products... On a scale of 1 to 10, Dacor gets a 1.

I completed a 7-month total remodel of our kitchen and family room, which were connected in November 2007. The kitchen remodel cost $18,000 for various Dacor appliances including the Millenia series of wall oven MOV130S; warming drawer MWDV30; and 42 island hood DHI42130. The remaining includes the huge 30 Epicure dishwasher ED30SCP, 36 cooktop EG366SCH, and beverage center EF24LBCSS. All have the beautiful copper accent package and make for highly attractive appliances. We constantly receive accolades for them. If only they werent absolute garbage functionally and reliability-wise. Others have remarked how the ignitors on the cooktop continually spark, even after the light off. After contacting Dacor and waiting 2 weeks for the repair, for which Dacor sent the wrong part and caused another 2-week delay, the repairman had to rip off the front accent lip of the cooktop to reach the base which significantly dented the front lip. The ignitor worked like a champ for 2 days, then click, click, click - constant ignitions. So I cleaned around the ignitor tip with 409, dried it and it worked flawlessly. Thanks Dacor for your own product ignorance and my now dented cooktop. It has worked well since and is a sound product, so far. If only my luck held out.Next, the wall oven. Very beautiful and my control panel has held out (fingers faithlessly crossed). The oven isnt calibrated though, so follow cooking directions at your own risk. This oven will burn your food if you set the temp and timer to the recommended settings. I have to take off 25-50 degrees and 5-10 minutes of requested cook time or I will smoke any meal. After 2 years of use, I decided to use the cleaning cycle - following the directions to the letter. Forty five minutes into the cycle and kaboo! The front window shattered. Dacor says $700+ for glass replacement; I say send me the part and Ill do it. I got the discounted part for $68; spent 3 hours cleaning and reassembling with care; and the window has held, but I havent tried the cleaning cycle since. Why roll the dice again?Ah, now my fave garbage Dacor appliance - the interminable dishwasher. Truly engineered by the diabolical. I just completed my fourth major repair after 5 years of use. First, the drain valve failed after a few months of use causing flood and was replaced under warranty. Then the door seal failed (more flooding) and was also repaired and replaced under warranty. The dishwasher stinks, by the way, as the unit cannot evaporate effectively during drying cycle due to ridiculously poor rear venting design. So I have to leave the door wide open for hours after use to facilitate drying and stench reduction. The control panel/circuit board has fried twice now in the last 3 years - it just starts erratically beeping and refuses to take input, even with a power reset. Both technicians stated the design and quality of the board is third world, which likely is exactly where Dacor outsourced the garbage. The island hood and warming drawer have worked well, and the beverage center has been reliable but maddeningly causes back left cans of soda to freeze and explode occasionally; even with the set temperature raised to now 45 degrees. Fun to clean up after coming home from a long trip. My expectations are so laughingly low now for these Dacor products that I dont bat an eye with the frozen soda muck this fridge occasionally produces. Customer service though has been helpful and thankfully, American. They have replaced both circuit boards for free well out of warranty. I have only appreciation and great sympathy for the customer service folks who Ive spoken with. I love my kitchen, but hate the appliances in it. Never again Dacor. Never again.

We purchased a Dacor Double Wall Oven in late November of 2019. I liked the oven and it functioned well until October of 2020 when the oven quit working due to a control panel issue. We were told the part was on back order. I continued to check with Dacor customer service and was continually told the same thing -- it was on back order. Never once did they call me to give me an update. In December of 2020 when I called I was told there was an update. The part was no longer on back order it was no longer in production, they no longer make the part. They would review the file to see if they were going to give me credit for the oven or get me a new oven. I contacted them again today and was told it was still under review and it could take them another couple of weeks to decide what to do. I asked to speak with a supervisor but was told that there was not one available. The person I spoke with today said that she would call me next week to give me an update. I appreciate her concern but that does not get me closer to a working oven. I would not recommend Dacor to anyone, customer service is terrible.

We bought our Dacor 30” gas range in September of last year. We were tired of cheap stoves that lasted 5 years before they needed to be relegated to a landfill. We thought it was an investment that would provide us with a reliable appliance and worst case scenario, better warranty repair service than Home Depot or other big box store. After 15 months, the igniter for the oven stopped working. We tried the 800 number on the warranty registration website and no one there could bring up our registration, even though I could see it on the website. They gave me an email address to contact the people who could look it up and I heard nothing for two days. I called the 800 number again and they transferred me to another number and they finally found our warranty registration and issued a ticket for the repair. The company they use for warranty work in Toronto, is Home Appliance Repair GTA and they are absolutely horrible. They said they ordered the part on November 27, but they did not actually order it until December 6th. Dacor then sent the wrong part! I demanded that they send the proper part overnight and on December 13th they called and left a voicemail saying that the part would be here by today at the latest. It did not arrive and this evening I emailed them again and their response was that the part would be here on December 19th. How does it take a week in this day and age to deliver anything? I don’t believe that I will even have a functional oven for Christmas this year. I have already given up on any baking getting done. I will never buy a Dacor product again. I actually really love my stove, but I am beyond disappointed with their warranty service and customer care.

We purchased our home brand new in August 2006. The house was built and the appliances installed (but never used) in 2003. One of the things that sold us on the house was the kitchen being comprised of all high-end Dacor appliances (double convection oven, cooktop, dishwasher, and built-in microwave). Our excitement quickly turned to frustration. The first problems began with the dishwasher, which after several attempts at repair (circuit board) was begrudgingly replaced by Dacor, with “begrudgingly” being the key word. I have always found Dacor customer service to be rude and dismissive - with the only way that I ever received a satisfactory outcome, being via threats of contacting the BBB and Missouri Attorney General.About a year after receiving the replacement dishwasher, the internal racks began rusting badly. Once again, I called customer service who originally wanted to sell me new racks at a discount. Only after another persistent round of explaining that high-end dishwasher racks should be made from a material that doesnt rust, complaining and threatening, did I receive new racks free of charge. I was also informed that they had changed rack manufacturers and that would eliminate the rusting problem. Wrong. It has now been another couple of years, and the new racks are rusted worse than the previous ones. That is just the dishwasher. Our Dacor microwave display began slowly losing its LED display about 2 years ago. Lately, the microwave interior lining is beginning to disintegrate and rust through. One of the burners on our gas cooktop makes a constant popping noise when lit. The top half of our double convection oven no longer heats beyond 250 degrees. I realize that our appliances are now significantly beyond their warranty period, so I am no longer even attempting a resolution through Dacor. I will most likely ride these appliances into their graves and replace them with another brand. I am writing this mainly to alert others about my experiences with what I believe to be Dacors total lack of quality at a premium price. In my opinion, Dacor is all style and no substance.

We purchased this range after remodeling our kitchen. We opted for the Dacor because of the deep oven that the other high end ovens did not have. I am an avid baker so this was a plus. After a year and half the oven stopped working, it was not getting hot. Thankfully is was still under warranty and it was repaired. The technician determined it was the oven control thermostat that was not working. Fast forward two years and again the same problem, along with the right front burner now also not working. And wouldnt you know it, the warranty is expired. Another technician came out again and stated to fixed the two problems it would be approx $250.00 just for labor and not including parts. CRAZY INSANE!!! If we would have known all the problems and we would have purchased either a Wolf, a Thermador or even a Monogram. How can so many issues and problems be happening with an range that is only 4 years old? Especially one that costs over $6000. It has to be a lemon or poorly manufactured. Ive contacted Dacor and was told they need to review my file to make a determination on what they want to do. REALLY, you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know there is a problem. Our 30in Dacor double ovens are approximately 12 years old. I feel they operate adequately. However, not better than our much lower end appliances we previously owned. My main complaint is the self cleaning function. My old ovens self cleaning worked much better! With our Dacor ovens one must take out the racks and clean them by hand. This is very difficult and time consuming. I used the 3 hr option to clean my oven that was moderately dirty, mainly from cooking a prime rib over the holidays. After the 3 hr cleaning the oven was still very dirty with splatters and grease. Im now cleaning my oven again with a second 3 hr cleaning cycle. I know at the end of this second cycle I will need to do a lot more cleaning by hand! I hope Dacor has improved their inadequate self cleaning feature. If it hasnt been improved, I really cant recommend Dacor ovens.

Dacor Epicure Dual Fuel Range and Microwave - Where to begin? Perhaps at the end is best. Dacor appliances are shoddy, unreliable, outrageously expensive to repair and there is no customer support. That about covers it. We bought the above noted pair during our kitchen renovations 8 years ago. We thought that Dacor was a premium brand that would give us long trouble free service. How wrong we were! The only thing Premium about them is the price. 4 years ago, the microwave door refused to latch. Thanks to YouTube, I found out how to remove the door backing and found that the plastic part that comprised the latch was broken. Dacor was contacted - they no longer had the part. Try the open market I was told. I managed to jury rig a repair by using a wooden shim. 3 years ago, the range packed it in. Another repair - this time I was told it was the circuit board that had failed and which was replaced to the tune of $700 and I was cautioned that the second circuit board was not working very well - the interior light would not illuminate and the blue lights indicating a lit burner didnt work, and I should change it too. The smaller circuit board was costed out at $400. Last week, the door latch motor failed and the range began to beep incessantly. Now the oven cannot be used and repair costs quoted over the phone were in the 1000$ range. Thats it for us. Dacor is junk and belongs where its headed - the junkyard. Dont buy Dacor. Live and learn I guess.

We placed the new Dacor appliances that we’ve purchased in our second home in Big Bear Lake, California. The fact is we were in our second home approximately 10 times in the first two years. We had trouble with our Dacor dishwasher from the beginning. When you close the door, it wouldnt engage unless you close the door a number of times. It became progressively worse to the point where we brought out another repairperson - this time a certified Dacor repairperson. He got the washer going for a few minutes, only to not being able to complete a full cycle. We received an initial $89.95 bill, and during another contact we would have to pay an additional $400-plus for a motherboard and labor. We contacted Dacor, along with the contractor, a number of times. We had the history of this dishwasher which is causing problems.Dacor would not make it good, even though we spent more than $10,000 on other Dacor kitchen products. It simply doesnt make sense to me to not fix a sub-par dishwasher to keep a customer happy. Now, we are angry and will go on a number of sites to advertise our plight. We will install a new Bosch dishwasher as we have no confidence in Dacor and even less in their customer relations division.

I purchased my first Dacor appliances in 1991, built a second house in 2005 and again purchased Dacor double ovens and a cooktop. Loved them! Remodeled my current home and again purchased the double ovens and a cooktop. The double oven, DTO230FS, which was installed in November 2015, 4 years ago, stopped working. I was roasting asparagus and we smelled what seemed to be burning plastic. The oven is used about 4 times a month, I have never used the self cleaning feature therefore it is surprising that it broke. The repairman said that the relay board was bad and will need to order the part. He estimates that it will be $600 to fix it. Sad that I need to incur the repair cost of an oven that is only 4 years old.

If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner! The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that dont stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

We did a complete kitchen remodel 2 years ago. My husband talked me into purchasing american made over the Bosch products that I preferred. This has been a horrible experience. The dishwasher does not clean. I was told to prime the water and purchase the higher end platinum packs. That did not work, then it was add lemi shine. That has not worked. The water never completely drains, ugh old water. A service tech could not tell me where the rinse aid indicator light was and insisted mine did not come with one! Microwave does not heat in an adequate time. All listed times I have to double time if not more. I was told to put a Rubbermaid container over the food product to insulate the waves... ha! Oven does not regulate heat. when I go to increase the heat during stated recipe, the screen always say 50 even though I would have it at 375. I was told it always will revert back to 350, really. I had all Kenmore appliances prior to the Dacor and never had a problem... Do not buy, I wish I hadnt. We are filing this with BBB and headed to small claims court.. This should be fun. I hope Dacor sees this.

I owned a 36 Dual Fuel Epicure range that required at least an annual repair for the same thing. The control pad (the pad with the buttons that controls the oven and light) would fry. This would cause the oven light to come on and off like a strobe light. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty from the vendor, as each time this was replaced it was $750+ to repair. When I complained to Dacor on their support line, the representative actually told me that I was running the oven too hot!About 6 months ago, I sold the house and left the very expensive range behind. It was problematic from day one. Other repairs included replacing the ignitors. After a year of use, the insulation on the door came loose and was hanging in plain view through the window on the door. Every repairman that came to service the range said the same thing.... that they repair a lot of Dacors. When it worked, it was a great range. If you do buy a Dacor, do yourself a favor, buy the extended warranty. You will need it and it will pay for itself.

Over ten years of using my Dacor oven, I have spent $1595 in repair bills to keep it going. It cost $1875 originally and I would have purchased a more reliable brand if I had known how much trouble the oven would cause me.

Motherboard on my favor wall oven has been replaced twice. Repairman said not use the self-cleaning feature as that will cause too high of heat and melt the components. Seriously, Dacor? We spend this kind of money and have these type of repair issues constantly. Just glad I finally was told what might help resolve this - I’m ready for a new oven because of all these problems.

We did a total kitchen remodel and purchased Dacor appliances. Big mistake. Had to spend 500 on refrigerator repair (model EF36BNDFSS). Oven is off 25 degrees on temperature. The glass top for burners was defective. Would never purchase Dacor. Microwave front trim keeps coming off as well.

Our Dacor wall oven (model MOH 1305) is the subject of my concern. Purchased with confidence in Dacor’s advertising in 2008. The oven has had multiple visits by a Dacor authorized repair company who along with a Dacor technician determined that the oven needed a relay board replacement. This relay board has been replaced twice and has failed after installation both times. The relay board provided by Dacor appears to be the problem. Each repair/service call costs approximately $300.00 with no guarantee that the next relay board will work. Our conversations with Dacor give us no satisfaction. Dacor now tells us that our “superior product” of 11 years is just too old. Additionally, they tell us that Dacor products are “superior products” that are designed to last somewhere between 10 to 15 years. There is no excuse for Dacor since the replacement relay boards they are sending us seem to be defective. Their excuse that we have an “old” oven is wrong since the problem is with their defective replacement parts. Beware consumers when thinking about purchasing Dacor products.

I purchased a 48 Dacor Epicure stove in October 2010. We moved into our home in November just in time for Thanksgiving. We remodeled the kitchen and the stove is the focal point. When I heated the two ovens, the pre-heat mode stayed on but the ovens went to 600 degrees plus. My oven thermometers only read to 600. That happens every time and the fans stay on for hours. After many service calls, we have determined that the oven is going into a cleaning mode every time and is wired backwards. Dacor is ignoring me.
