We are in the process of remodeling our house including an entire new kitchen that we cant wait to finish to invite people over and show. HOWEVER, the cook top already has a light burned and finally the cover of it ended up falling as I was wiping down the stove (very softly by the way because I like to treat my appliances really nice). We have had this stove for less than a year I havent even made the last payment and it is already with a light burned out. REALLY? My husband spent countless hours researching the best appliances and decided to get this one and to come to find out that it is not good it is a complete disappointment. I am sooo upset. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND!!! Save yourself the hassle that we are now going to go through trying to get a hold of someone on the phone and see what they will do if anything. I bought it from AJ Madison.

We purchased a Dacor 30 Heritage Gas range and installed it in early Oct 2020. Within a day a gas leak from the back of the range was identified by our gas contractor. Dacor repaired it quickly (12 hours). I was impressed (though concerned it already had an issue). In December 2020 I noticed that the oven indicator light was not coming on. I contacted customer service and despite indicating that there was a problem, was simply told what the light was for. Then, in February 2021 (under 5 months after installation) the oven stopped working. The service technician indicated it was an electrical issue and the gas would not ignite. It has now been over two weeks and we still do not have it repaired nor any indication of when it will be repaired. We spent $5200 on this range. I do not recommend Dacor.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

Five years ago we built a new house with a big open kitchen for entertaining and family. I like to cook. After talking to a kitchen designer and high end appliance dealer in San Antonio, TX, we decided to go 100% Dacor for the kitchen. What a nightmare! The oven was replaced within the first three months. Since then we have had two relay boards replaced (one within warranty, one not) and one thermostat replaced. When the oven is working, I like it very much. But it is a lot of trouble to get it fixed. The refrigerator defrosting until has gone out three times as well (once in warranty, twice not). Today the unit is not cooling at all. It is hard enough to find someone to service these units outside the big cities, so when we do find someone it takes days for them to get here to diagnose; days to receive parts; and days more to fix. I will never buy another Dacor product! I will say this, the Dacor headquarters have tried to help and even gave discounts on parts, but 5-year appliances should never have these many issues. Our last kitchen was 100% KitchenAid and we never had one problem with anything for 6 years!

I have been getting the run around from Dacor regarding a part that I paid $700 to fix an interior light that comes on and off like a strobe light. After the local service company installed the part, recommended as the fix by Dacor, the issue returned. I contacted the technician again and that is when the run around started by Dacor. I was told to contact the customer service line and tell my story which I did, only to be told that the Range is too old and they dont stand behind the warranty nor service anymore. They said beyond 5 years they dont do anything for the customer.I paid $8000 for this range back in 2005 and it has worked just great until this recent issue. If I had known that there was no service nor any parts for the fix I would have just dismantled the interior light. But why did they recommend the part I did purchase to begin with? Are they just trying to increase revenues by advising customers to buy parts that wont work? DO NOT BUY DACOR PRODUCTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE ON THE HOOK FOR REPAIRS AFTER ONLY 5 YEARS! This company has rude customer service agents and they do not stand behind their name!

We were incredibly disappointed, not only with the range but with the customer service from Dacor. We purchased this range in January 2016 and here we are in July with what is basically a pan holder sitting uselessly in our kitchen. Problems started immediately. The first time I used the oven, it locked with the cooking food inside. It turned out that the thermostats on both ovens were so out of whack that the oven temperature reached self-cleaning mode levels so the ovens locked with the food inside! We had both thermostats replaced twice and still had the same problem. Eventually, the thermostats were calibrated, but still within a range. In addition, the switch for the convection oven just stopped working. After 6 months of trying to deal with this problem, we will be returning the range and replacing it with a different brand. At no point did Dacor offer to exchange the range, they simply kept sending a repair person.

DONT recommend model #MOH130. We were so impressed with the options that this oven came with. Sadly, with all the bells and whistles also came a ton of repairs. After the 4th repair, our service rep said the relay board needed to be switched out. (Half of the service men who came to my house seemed to be grasping at straws trying to come up with an explanation why the temperature was fluctuating, or why it took so long to heat up, etc.) Then I get to wait 2 weeks for a part to be ordered/arrived and re-schedule service. Last week got code U22 - oven wont even turn on. This oven is only 6 years old. NO THANKS - NEVER AGAIN will I buy anything from this company.

Do not buy a Dacor appliance unless youre okay with replacing parts for the oven in less than 2 years. The control electronic part was replace then less than a year later the user interface had to be replaced. Less than a year after the user interface was replaced, the oven completely stopped working. After calling the same repair guy to come fix it, they informed me that the company no longer sells the control interface. When I called the company, the only options they gave me were to send the part to a third party refurbish company and have them fix it. That means I would have to call the service repair company for the FOURTH time to have them remove the part, I would need to send it away to get fixed and call them back to put it back in. Dacor didnt even offer to pay for any of this. The customer service rep offered to give me a discount on a new unit. Are you kidding me?!? Please do yourself a favor and dont buy anything from this company. They dont back up their products and its clear they dont care about their reputation. Its a waste of money to be spend on high end appliances that are poorly made. Spend less from a different company thats been around for a long time. At least if a part goes, youll have reassurance they will have that part handy. A terrible company. I hope they go belly up soon so they can stop selling overly priced kitchen appliances to people.

We bought our new Dacor CPS 130S wall oven when we built a new house in 04.
We bought our new Dacor CPS 130S wall oven when we built a new house in 04. First we had to replace the lower heating element. Now the touchpad (Dacor part # 13290S) is malfunctioning. The + button will not respond to touch. Called Dacor and was told that the needed part number was discontinued in 2009. I double-checked with a distribution center in San Antonio, TX, who confirmed that the part is no longer available. They referred me back to Dacor on the chance that Dacor would have one somewhere. Dacors suggested solution was that we need to buy an updated completely new oven, which would cost us several more thousand dollars. So here we sit with a perfectly good oven minus a touchpad to control it correctly. So much for buying reliable, U.S. made products and receiving good service. I thought there existed a federal law that mandates a company must make parts available for 10 years if they discontinue the product?

We did a complete kitchen remodel in 2007. I wanted top of the line appliances, and I liked the look of Dacor. I spent over $10,000 on a refrigerator, oversize dishwasher, microwave oven and a warming oven... (I know). Within 16 months, everything started to fall apart. Of course it was over the one year’s mark so there was no replacing of the units on the manufacturers part. I have since replaced the motherboard on the dishwasher twice... total of 3K in repairs! I cant replace the dishwasher because it was oversized and we built our cabinets around it and no other company sell an oversized dishwasher. I have replaced the microwave oven with another one that looks just like it because for some reason it fried. The refrigerator constantly rattles and my husband and I are at our wits end because of it. The only thing that hasnt fell apart yet is the warming oven. Probably because we dont use it. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Its a total waste of money. Next time Im buying Kenmore. My old Kenmore is sitting out in the garage being a good and faithful second fridge.

I have a 4 year old Dacor Renaissance 36 in gas range. The thermostat is broken, the self-clean cycle doesnt work due to a broken lock and the oven indicator light stopped working about 2 years ago. Pros: It is an attractive oven with the knobs that light up blue when on and the burners all work fine but that is it! The technician told me ALL parts I need are on backorder due to Dacor being bought out by Samsung 2 years ago and COVID related delays. He also told me there is no ETA on those parts and said it could be an unknown amount of months. So now I dont have an oven for an unknown amount of time. This is unacceptable. I was sharing my frustrations with a friend who recommended I post this on Dacor Applicances Facebook page. He thought I would get an immediate helpful response. So I did. It was taken down not more than 3 minutes after it was posted! They never even reached out. Pretty poor company service. I will never buy Dacor anything again. Even when the oven was working ok - it never kept good heat and the self-clean cycle never cleaned well - there was lots of grease residue left behind. This is a poor quality company all around. Believe the negative reviews. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Previously, I submitted a complaint here and I would now like to amend it. The problem(s) that I experienced with my 8 years old Dacor 30-inch wall oven was what I described in my earlier post (July 9, 2012). But after posting here, I was contacted by a Dacor representative not once, but several follow-ups to ensure that the problem was resolved to my satisfaction. It was and Im now very impressed with Dacors customer support. To be fair, I should have contacted Dacor with my problem before blasting their product here.It has been a good oven for 8 years and given their support that Ive recently experienced, Id be more inclined to purchase Dacor products in the future as it appears theyre willing to stand behind what they sell. Im really glad this issue was resolved because I was about to throw in the towel and buy something else, but couldnt find anything else that looked near as good as my Dacor and had glowing product performance reviews.

If anyone else has this experience with Dacor ovens, we need to have a class action suit against Dacor! While baking Christmas cookies this week with my grandchildren, my ovens stopped working and started beeping. The error code was F3. I was able to get a technician rather quickly who diagnosed the problem as a failure of the control board which affected both ovens. The replacement part was discontinued from production in 2011. My ovens are 12 years old and cost over $4,000 at the time. What a pickle I was in a week before family coming for Christmas dinner! The technician said my only recourse was to send the control board to a refurbisher and he did not know when the board would be fixed - all for a whopping costs of over $600.00! I find it unacceptable that Dacor discontinues a control board and forces the consumer to either buy new ovens or pay the cost of a refurbished part that I hope will work. After spending thousands of dollars, how does this happen? What can be done so the consumers who purchase appliances with good intentions are protected from manufacturers that dont stand behind their products? DACOR I NEED ANSWERS!!

Our 30in Dacor double ovens are approximately 12 years old. I feel they operate adequately. However, not better than our much lower end appliances we previously owned. My main complaint is the self cleaning function. My old ovens self cleaning worked much better! With our Dacor ovens one must take out the racks and clean them by hand. This is very difficult and time consuming. I used the 3 hr option to clean my oven that was moderately dirty, mainly from cooking a prime rib over the holidays. After the 3 hr cleaning the oven was still very dirty with splatters and grease. Im now cleaning my oven again with a second 3 hr cleaning cycle. I know at the end of this second cycle I will need to do a lot more cleaning by hand! I hope Dacor has improved their inadequate self cleaning feature. If it hasnt been improved, I really cant recommend Dacor ovens.

Purchased a Dacor Epicure ER36DSCH/NG RANGE and oven in 2007. Sad story, it never worked properly since day 1. Initially a gas burner did not light, they came and repaired it. Subsequently the door lock failed in the lock position - had that repaired. The door lock failed the next year again, this time thanksgiving, ruined the dinner. They fixed it but the following year the lower burner element failed at Thanksgiving. All my relatives know not to purchase a Dacor product. Problem is I am stuck with this boat anchor. The oven door motor has failed 3 more times and thankfully the service man showed me how to change it. Today we tried to bake some apple pies and found the oven temperature set at 450 was only 350 (bought an oven thermometer). This explains why it always takes so long to bake things. A complete piece of **, never ever buy one.

In 2010 we purchased a new Dacor Epicure Stainless Steel 42 refrigerator/freezer. Weve had to replace the freezer heating element (twice) because it fails and then the freezer ices up causing the system to stop cooling. This past week the fan began making a noise and so we had repairmen come out (yet again). Technician confirmed that the pan motor (fan in freezer) has failed. NO PART is available... I couldnt believe that parts wouldnt be available for a $10,000 high-end refrigerator that was purchased new only ten years old. I called Dacor directly and asked them how long they make parts available after they retire a model. The Dacor representative told me that they make parts available for 7 years. 7 YEAR PART AVAILABILITY ON AN APPLIANCE THAT SHOULD LAST 15-20 YEARS??? RUN AWAY FROM DACOR. Obviously customer service is low on their priority list. We will be replacing our gorgeous $10,000 ten-year old Dacor refrigerator/freezer (now a boat anchor) with Sub-Zero. We have an 11 year old Dacor double oven with convection on top. The relay board malfunctioned and there are no parts to repair this. All Dacor would tell us is that they dont carry the parts anymore. Evidently, they are not required by law beyond about 8 years and that appears to be all they do. Our appliance repair person even contacted a company that rebuilds electronics and they cant get parts for this board. It is unbelievable considering what we paid for the oven. So we now have to replace it. Dacor offered us a discount on a new one. Not good enough. I cant imagine putting another Dacor product in. Updated on 05/11/2021: I wrote a review about my terrible Dacor stove, and I was amazed when I was notified within a couple of days that Dacor wanted to help resolve my issue. I was asked to provide some basic personal information, which I dutifully supplied. That was weeks ago and I havent heard a peep since, and I doubt I will. Clearly they do this just so they can mark these reviews as Resolution in progress to make it seem like theyre doing something to help. But as far as I can tell its nothing but a smokescreen. Dont be fooled by resolutions in progress.Original: Our Dacor stove is the worst stove I have ever owned or lived with in my 50+ years. Within 2 years after we bought it, the oven had stopped working twice and 2 of the 4 knobs broke. (Ive never had a knob break on any stove before.) Luckily an appliance repair person (not specific to Dacor) was able to get the oven working both times but told us replacement knobs were not available. We have tried generics but nothing fits. I have been juggling 2 knobs on 4 burners for more than 3 years now, and STILL Dacor has no replacements available. Six months ago we inquired again and were told they had a new model of knobs available that would fit, but we ordered them and they were on back order and never became available. Meanwhile Dacor had already processed our payment for them (which is illegal, I believe) so we had to deal with getting that refunded because our hope of the knobs ever being in stock was gone. This is also the loudest electric oven Ive ever owned. It sounds like convection is on every time you use it, whether or not its actually set on convection. That lasts for 20 minutes after you turn off the oven, too. Also, periodically the stove emits a loud BEEP and resets its computer for no apparent reason, sometimes when Im cooking (oh, you had a timer going? TOO BAD - who knows when it will be ready now!) and sometimes when the stove isnt even on at all (just thought you might like to reset the clock - AGAIN).Furthermore, the oven door has a special design with an open space at the base that allows dog hair to get sucked in from under the stove and collect between the 2 layers of glass. So we get to view our food through dirty HAIR. Apparently thats why the oven is so loud, because it takes a lot to suck up all that hair from under the stove. This can be cleaned, but you have to remove the door to get to it, which is not easy - I cant do it myself. Its so embarrassing when we have people over for dinner; I just hope nobody notices the hairball in the oven door. After reading through the other Dacor reviews I consider myself lucky to be able to cook at all. Buyer beware, dont EVER buy anything from this brand. Its total (expensive) crap and customer service is nonexistent.

Updated on 02/23/2021: Its been several weeks since I first posted. The only reply that Ive received was an email via this site that requested information from me on my claims. The info was provided the same day. A week has gone by since I provide the information and I have yet to hear back from Dacor. Not even a were looking into your issue. What I did receive was a notice from Samsung (who has acquired Dacor) telling me that one of my service tickets has been cancelled. I dutifully called the listed number to get more information... only to be told that the Samsung customer service rep could not help me and that I needed to call Dacor. Ive tried to approach this matter with humor up to this point but I am out of patience. Given the price I paid for these products, I expected a premium customer experience... the experience I have received has been abysmal.Original Review: I did not think that a customer experience could be this AWFUL or that a vendor could seem to care less than Dacor cares about resolving my issues. After 5 months, the exhaust downdraft that we purchased still does not work and Dacor either does not respond or - when I can get someone on the phone - I get any number of standard excuses (parts shortages, Covid, port backlogs are delaying deliveries, the integration with Samsung, etc, etc). I am also missing basic parts such as shelves(!) that should have been installed during the original installation. The retail partner (Specialty Appliance) does not seem to have anymore luck in getting answers.

We had problems with it all the time. The front plastic cracked and ended up causing the oven not to work. We have spent (over the past 9 years) about $1,000 on repairs. Now, we just had it fixed and our new clock that was installed into the oven is running fast. After just being fixed, it takes 20 minutes to heat up to 400. Honestly, it always has been that way. We’re not happy with it at all. We bought a Sears brand oven for our church, and it works great, and the cost was only a third of what we paid for the Dacor oven. The Sears brand bakes just as good as the Dacor (when it works). I think it was a waste of money to buy this Dacor oven.

I smell gas every time I turn oven on. Last Thanksgiving 2019 the stove stop working. I was told the igniter had burned out and had it replaced. I had repairman come twice because of smell and end January 2020 the stove stop working again. The repairman told me that a jet burner assembly was never installed this is why I smell gas after it is turn on. ** They said they will order the part. It's back order So I contact Dacor. First they told me it's back order then give me a supplier. If it was never installed in the unit shouldn't Dacor take care of it and soon.

Front bevel of my first rsd30 range purchased in California in 1999 cracked within nine months. Dacor said it was a defect in the design and would fix it for free. I sold the house in 2001 but the range was still not fixed. I moved to Nevada and bought a new rsd30 range and same thing happened within six months. It took a year to get it fixed at their expense. This bevel also cracked again for the second time in March 2011. Their response to this was to offer me a new bevel for $180 and I would have to pay for the installation. I declined the offer. The bevel is still cracked at this time. At the same time, I bought a PMOR30 over the range microwave and the front handle broke at least four times. And finally, the whole thing broke down and was not repairable. In Aug. 2008, I contacted Dacor and they agreed to replace it with a new DMT2420 over the counter microwave for half the price ($390). Last week, this one blew up on me. Sparks were coming out through the side and a big hole in the removable shield and burn damage to the wall of the unit. I do not believe this unit is repairable. I contacted Michael at Dacor. He apologized and said that theres nothing they can do about it as it is out of warranty but they will look into it. What I want at this point is my money back that I paid for ($390) and for them to pick up the unit and get it out of my house. I will never buy another Dacor product again.

I purchased most Dacor appliances when I built my home in 2015. Their induction cook top and dishwasher kept breaking down one by one. The first time the repair service was done well. Early 2019, their cooktop broken down again and I still have the half broken cook top for almost 4 month now. We have been emailing back and forth, firstly Dacor promised to mail me the parts, but then a different customer rep reached out saying I have to take the broken parts out and mail it back to them before they can send me the replacement parts. That means I would have to live without a cook top for a while. There is even no estimation when I will have it fixed!! Dacor dont value their customer and Im comfortable to say it is the worst product quality and service I have experienced in my lifetime. Never recommend it to anyone!!

Purchased Dacor Wall Oven EO130SCH in 2011. Rarely used, so never used the self cleaning function. Occasionally wipe with microfiber cloth, eco-friendly cleaners like vinegar and Bon Ami and elbow grease. First problem in 2017 when the oven would not heat up, just before I had guests coming to stay with us. Dacor repair personnel could not make it out for a few weeks, so repaired the issue myself by resetting the thermostat with some creativity and effort. Next problem in 2018 with a U43 relay board error. Can use it for a while if turn off the power to the fuse box for a while, but in 2019 it also started making a clicking noise, and basically not functioning right before I needed it for a party. Cant replace the relay board (which costs more than $300 for the part itself) without pulling out the oven. But why is the relay board failing so quickly? Is there a fan cooling issue? Have talked to Dacor. Poorly designed, poor quality. I would never recommend Dacor.

I will NEVER buy Dacor EVER again. We built a house and after looking at other high-end appliance makers and upon my mothers strong recommendation, we installed all Dacor appliances in our new kitchen. My mother based her recommendation of Dacor appliances due to what she explained as their excellent customer service. HA!! Less than 3 years after installing our pricey Dacor Epicure over-sized dishwasher it has rusted racks -- top and bottom! After experiencing a very painful, drawn-out and EXPENSIVE process of getting our racks replaced, I am not confident AT ALL that our frustrations with this dishwasher are over yet. The new retrofit slides on the top rack are so lightweight I cant imagine they will effectively operate for years to come. I have difficulty closing my dishwasher properly now and have to check each time I run it for leaks on the floor. Ive given up on my Dacor dishwasher and have resigned myself to eventually replacing it. NEVER buy Dacor!

Dacor 27 electric double oven unreliability. Almost from first use the Dacor electric double oven has been plagued with problems including but not limited to door not locking when self cleaning, not self cleaning, door not unlocking upon completion of self cleaning, and filter issues. Since purchased in 2013 the top oven has been used between 75 and 100 times; the bottom oven less than 25 times. Yesterday the oven died. First error message U43 relay board. Second U60 cooling fan. Worse when the control board responsive/froze circuit breakers were needed to turn oven off.Repair estimate is $1600 plus tax. I intend to replace the overpriced and unreliable Dacor with a Kitchen Aide at approximately 13 the price based on customer and Consumer Reports reviews plus a new one year guarantee. I do not recommend the Dacor double oven if you are a serious cook and/or frequent user. Brand name and styling are less important than product reliability and useful life especially when you can purchase the former for two-thirds less money.

We purchased a DACOR double wall oven (MOH2275) in April 2012. We are waiting for service to arrive for the fourth time since we purchased the oven. I find this unacceptable. We have had 2 other ovens in the last 30 years and they did not need any service. In general I have found appliances to be of such reliability that I dont get extended warranties. DACOR gave a 3 year warranty on this oven and now I know why. Hopefully this service will fix it for a long period of time.On the positive side, the oven really works well. It is so well insulated that we feel very little heat coming off it. One serious flaw its overall operation is the reheating of the oven. If I bake something at 350 degrees and then want to reset the over to 450 degrees, the oven does not go into preheat mode and does not let you know when you reach the required temperature. I am hopeful this will last awhile and not have to be replaced for what we paid for it.

It can fit so many items..we tend to buy a lot from Costco and everything fits in the fridge and freezer no problem. My two favorite things are the fresh drawer and auto fill water pitcher. The fresh drawer temp can be adjusted based on what you want to place in there. Wines, cheeses and we've even stores desserts in there. And the auto fill water pitcher means no one has to remember to fill it up. Small detail but so nice to have. Definitely recommend this fridge.

Purchased a Dacor freezer. Freezer does not come with outer panel. Understandably, because you can choose to put your own custom panel on or order one from Dacor. Found out Dacor was bought by Samsung, a few years ago. So I decided to order a Stainless steel door from Dacor. One of Dacors reps suggested I order from J@J international. I placed order and two days later they called back saying they cannot ship door to me UPS nor FedEx will ship it. They refunded my money, so I reordered from someone else. Got ss panel toe kick and handle. Opened box only to find out no hardware, brackets ss trim for sides screws and so forth. I assumed mounting hardware would be with door. So began the part search for parts. Come to find out Samsung changed Dacors part #s. Vendors who sell the parts could not come up with parts or told me not available. Reliable parts agent told me this. I was told they should have come with freezer. Meanwhile called back Dacor to someone who specializes in dealing with these issues. She took over 45 minutes of my time giving me the impression she was gonna resolve the issue. She finally said we have the parts and inferred that I must have not talked to reliable parts. I assured her I did. She continued to refute what I told her. I have been right at two months trying to get freezer door installed. I called an Appliance dealer in Salisbury Md. to get assistance. He told me when Samsung bought Dacor he dropped line. I now see why. It has been the worst experience I have had with a company that has absolutely done nothing but appear to be concerned and say they are sorry but do nothing. It looks like it will be another 750.00 to get a couple little trims and brackets and a few screws. If I had it to do over I would never have gone down this road. This has been a two month old nightmare that is still going on. Best advice I can give is steer clear of Dacor/Samsung. Was going to buy matching column refrigerator. Not now.

I bought the refrigerator less than a year for over $4,000 and the vegetable drawer chipped. When I called Dacor, I was told that it was a cosmetic issue and was given a number to call and order the part. For a refrigerator less than a year and costing that much, I thought it should fall under its warranty. Another issue is the ice maker. It wont dispense ice and I have to always pull the ice bin and put it back in. The Dacor customer service said that its because air gets into the ice bin when I dispense ice and thats the solution. Once again, for such an expensive refrigerator under 1 year old, I would think customer service would be more customer oriented. Never again!

We bought a new house a couple years ago, and the kitchen came with a suite of new Dacor appliances - range, fridge, and dishwasher. They are all terrible. The led indicator on the dishwasher is scrambled. The icemaker in the fridge clogs up into a solid block of ice. We had this fixed, which involved a new control board and some caulking, but the problem returned not long after. The knobs on the range feel like theyll snap off any time. The lights in the oven arent seated properly and they interfere with the oven racks. It takes forever to get up to temperature. And Im starting to think I have a gas leak. I have all Dacor Appliances in my kitchen and I am very disappointed and angry. The double wall oven has not worked since day one - cant roast a chicken or God forbid, I would want to roast a turkey for Thanksgiving. The ovens look great, but just wont cook anything. Raw on one side and burnt on the other. One time I roasted a 5lbs leg of lamb for 5 hours! It still wasnt cooked. Recently, my dishwasher has stopped working properly, stops midway through cycle, wont drain water and its just been a total waste of money. I will never recommend Dacor to anyone. Do not buy Dacor. I have 2 single ovens side by side and have a cooktop and ventilation system - my experience with the cooktop and vent (2000) was so good that I did not hesitate to buy Dacor MorS130S ovens. They were installed in my new kitchen in September of 2012. I had my cooktop and ventilation system reinstalled. My daughter accidentally cleaned the oven without taking out the GlideRacks (which are hard to take out). We oiled them, etc., like the manual says if they are accidentally left in - they will not glide at all and now I am being told $300 each to replace excluding the cost of the service call. This is ridiculous. What kind of design is so poor that racks would get in this condition? I had Bosch ovens before and their warranty was wonderful and I, luckily, bought a Miele dishwasher which has a 10-year warranty. I would not buy Dacor again because of the warranty and because of this problem. I am beyond disappointed as I love my cooktop etc. I feel that Dacor should at least pay for part of these GlideRacks.

Most of my life, Ive always bought pretty low end appliances, and theyve always worked pretty well. When we remodelled our kitchen, we decided to go with a high end Dacor stove, and its been nothing but trouble. After just a few weeks, the igniters started to fire constantly on some burners. It was still under warranty, but it was very hard to find someone to honor the warranty. We got that fixed, then the oven light started to come on and off randomly. After our experience with the first problem, we just disconnected the light and let it go. A few months later, the bottom shelf jammed, and there was no way to collapse it to fit in the oven. This product is total junk. Dont buy it!

Two years ago, we redid our total kitchen at considerable expense. All of the appliances we replaced were made by Dacor. They included: 1) a 36-inch refrigerator model EF 36/wf; 2) a dual wall oven, model EO230SCH; 3) a gas cook top, Model RGC304; 4) a dishwasher, ModelEDWH24S and; 5) a range hood, ModelEH3012SCH. The problems started within a two months of installation. The refrigerator stopped running due to a relay failure and a compressor problem; both were replaced by Dacor at no cost to us. It was inconvenient but not costly. A short time later, the lower wall oven stopped working as well as the lights in both ovens. This required the replacement of the main control panel (control circuit board). Dacor paid to have it repaired. The clock does not keep accurate time and gains about an hour a day. We decided to leave it well enough alone and did not have it fixed. After the one-year warranty expired, the lower oven quit again. This time, it had to be removed from the wall and an exhaust fan in the lower oven was defective and had to be replaced. Dacor’s initial response was it was out of warranty, so it was up to me to cover repairs. They eventually agreed to supply the part (about $90) but we had to spend several hundred dollars to install. Now, the lower oven takes an extremely long time to heat up, and again we decided to leave it well enough alone. Recently, there was a loud flash in the vent hood; one of the bulbs apparently burned out. My wife tried to turn off the lights in the hood but the light switch apparently blew when the light went and could not turn them off. After a couple of burned fingers and a melted bulb removal tool, I managed to get the other bulb out. A call to Dacor got the usual out of warranty response. I called the local Dacor authorized service rep. He looked at the problem ($95) and said he would have to call Dacor. After he talked to Dacor, they called me and said they would send a replacement control board but would not pay for the service calls. The service company said the next service call would be $195. One light bulb burned out: cost $290. I suspect that every hood unit that Dacor made with this control board is also defective. We have had to replace the halogen bulbs with great regularity. We have halogen bulbs in our boat that have lasted at least 15 years. There was another complaint on this board that had a similar problem with the vent hood. He decided to fix it himself. He is an Electrical Engineer his comments are worth reading and speak to the inadequate design of this unit. It is a shame that the Dacor appliances appear to be near the bottom in terms of reliability. Consumer Reports that their gas cook tops appear to be the least reliable. It looks like I have something to look forward to. Needless to say, I cannot recommend Dacor to anyone. In fact, I would recommend that they not purchase any Dacor product that does not have a full multi-year warranty.

Our Dacor oven is 2 years old and the oven door stopped closing all the way, rending it inoperable. The company is now owned by Samsung. I tried to schedule a service call to repair/replace the door hinges. This should be a simple process. However, because I purchased the oven through a designer and Dacor dealer, I had to track down the order verification to demonstrate that I am the original owner of the oven (this is in addition to providing a copy of the receipt or proof of purchase). It took several days to resolve this issue with my designer and rep who sold me the oven. Then, I scheduled the service call on the phone only to receive an email hours later advising me that the service call had been cancelled. No explanation was provided. After rescheduling the service call several times only to have each call cancelled, something finally worked with Samsungs tracking system and the service call actually took place.Dacor is the Mercedes of ovens and I expect a service call to be a little more expensive. However, other providers of luxury products facilitate the product support to minimize customer aggravation. Samsung needs to work on its product support and customer service. I would not purchase a Dacor product again since there are several other manufacturers that provide comparable luxury kitchen appliances with much strong customer support.

In 2008 I had the luxury of choosing kitchen appliances for our new home. I looked at them all and felt Dacor was the best choice. Choosing Dacor for our kitchen was the worst mistake I have made in kitchen appliances in any house in which I have lived (and there have been quite a few). The oven (48 dual fuel range) didnt work from day one. There was a problem with the temperature control. The oven would not shut off when it reached the desired temperature. Disappointing, but I told myself that sometimes things can go wrong and it should be an easy fix. Well, many service calls later and several re-wires of the unit, along with the installation of many new parts, the range still does not perform as well as the worst oven I have ever had. There is a tool that comes with the range that is used for taking the top off the unit to access the wires. My range was taken apart so many times that the tool wore out and had to be replaced. The front piece of the range no longer fits flush with the rest of the range. On one of our last service calls, I was told by the serviceman that Dacor said that under no circumstances would they consider replacement of my obviously faulty, beyond repair range. Eventually I got tired of repeated service calls. Sometimes servicemen would come out and say they didnt know how to fix it and leave. I would not expect such poor customer service from an entry level company. From a company touting themselves as a manufacturer of top of the line products, I would expect a greater desire to stand behind their products. The oven still does not work well. On convection bake, I must turn cookie sheets around or I will have doughy cookies on the same sheet as burned cookies. And forget using the convection setting to bake 2 sheets of cookies at once - it takes longer than baking them separately. I wish I could attach a picture! I also chose a Dacor microwave and refrigerator. One of the salesmen I spoke with about refrigerators said to make sure the unit we select did not have air transfer between the refrigerator and freezer, and the Dacor model did not do this. Well, when my 48 side-by-side arrived, it had the air transfer. I was disappointed but chose to live with it. Of greater concern to me is the noise the unit makes at times - sometimes loud enough I can hear it in other rooms of the house. I have not bothered to call for service. Im not interested in another fight to get Dacor to stand behind their poor quality overpriced products. At this point, I have no expectation of Dacor standing behind their products. I just want to share my experience with others who may be in the same situation I was - designing their dream kitchen - and save them the regret and continual disappointment in their Dacor products.

Dacor dual fuel 30 inch range - First of all the look of the dacor is second to none in my opinion. The digital screen with blue lighting makes this a truly elegant part of any kitchen..... when it works. The range top itself worked flawlessly for me and the main burner was always more than enough. The problem with the range lies in the electronics. The unit has been in my home for over a year and has worked for less than a month total. An error code appeared when ever the oven gets hot. C33, C1, 0000, 1111, C11. Ive seen it all. I have had the main board replaced twice and my local repairman is on first name basis with even my dogs at this point. We bought 3 very expensive Dacor appliances when we built our home 12 years ago. They have been a total disappointment. The microwave was replaced after just a couple of years when it just stopped working properly - including needing to stop it by opening the door! The wall ovens have needed many minor repairs which have amounted to several hundred dollars after labor charges. I see on this post others have had to repair the hinges! Ours have been replaced twice! The broiler came loose and was hanging on one side. The internal light also goes on and off by itself - sometimes in quick succession. At times, it stays on and cannot be turned off by the light button but by banging the front of the oven! Ridiculous! The cooktop cooks very unevenly. It goes from simmer to boiling over. The ceramic material did not hold up very well either. It is supposed to clean easy. But there are spills that have left permanent stains and we will be replacing that as well. We have also had Customer Service tell us items have been discontinued so we have no choice but to replace these appliances since replacement parts cannot be purchased any longer. This is a warning to anyone considering Dacor - DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! There are far better appliances out there!

We purchased a complete kitchen with Dacor Modernist stainless steel look. It has been a complete disaster since install day. They have replace every part in it and still doesnt make ice or if it does it freezes in to one big block of ice. My microwave combo oven just broke again today with same error code as last time. They had to replace both motherboard in the oven and microwave. Tomorrow they are coming because my dishwasher never completes a cycle. It shuts off at 16 min left. We had misfortune of owning whole suite of Dacor appliances for about two years now -- Cooktop, oven, microwave, and hood. The Ovens motor burnt out after few months of operation - This was covered and repaired by Dacor. Now Cooktop - Dacor Distinctive DRT366S/NG - just exploded with fire when we were cooking one night. This was very scary and dangerous situation. Dacor acknowledges that there was issue with this particular unit but they will not look at it or help us fix it. If you pay 5 times the price of a regular cooktop you would think that a company would have integrity to look into cases like fire and explosion to make sure these things not happen in the future but when they even refuse to look at the issue that tells you that they do not care. Imagine if GM/Ford told their customers that manufacturing faults are not covered anymore since the cars are out of warranty. This has been worst experience ever and we will never ever buy or recommend buying Dacor appliances.

Years ago I purchased the Dacor Double Oven over a Thermador because the Thermador had a ridiculously long pre-heat time. The Dacor has performed reasonably well as a oven particularly in convection-bake mode. But over time, components started failing and repair parts were hard to find, unavailable or ridiculously overpriced. I am an an engineer with DIY skills honed from years working with high tech food manufacturing equipment and controls including ovens. In recent years, I have needed to replace a relay board, the main control board, hinges two times, and most recently the hinge receptacles. I have also replaced an inner panel on a door assembly. Just think what such repairs would have cost for an average consumer. I understand the parts can fail, but Dacor has shown little regard for consumers in my opinion. They have done very little to maintain an inventory of repair parts. Basically their message is that the part is now obsolete and unavailable. Thats some answer when the price of a new double oven is multiple thousands. Recently, the hinges on my upper oven failed again. As they failed, their failure caused increased wear on the hinge receptacles. Soon the receptacles failed as well. I was able to find hinges at a ridiculously high price but the receptacles were unavailable anywhere. I contacted a several parts suppliers who told me that they had no idea when the parts would be available. Moreover at least two of the suppliers mentioned that they had a backlog of orders for the receptacles - one had a backlog of over thirty. Yikes!. At that point I contacted Dacor customer service and asked what could I do to get the part. Answer: The part is unavailable and we have no estimate on when it will be available. I tried to escalate my request and got nowhere. Finally after many hours of online searching, I found one set of the hinge receptacles at a price 4X last years price. Lastly as I replaced the receptacles today, I realized that the mounting screws only hold one portion of the U shaped mount. If the screws were longer, the receptacle would be less prone to twisting and wear. Be aware that Dacor was sold to Samsung a few years back. Based on my experience, I could never recommend Dacor. Caveat Emptor!

I purchased my Dacor Epicure Range 8 years ago when I remodeled my kitchen.
I purchased my Dacor Epicure Range 8 years ago when I remodeled my kitchen. My other appliances were made by GE and Bosch. Ive had to service my GE appliances a couple of times in the last 8 years, but it is the Dacor that has given me the most grief and it was the most expensive appliance purchased. It has never been reliable with regard to convection baking. Initially I thought it was my inexperience with a convection oven. I read everything I could get my hands on and kept trying...after talking with a friend who does quite a bit of baking I realized its not me, its my oven. Then the real problems started. First it was the broiler/ignitor, next it was the membrane in the keypad. Two months later it was the relay board and this time it was the broiler/ignitor....Again! Started calling Dacor when the relay board went out because at this point I had spent $1,000 on repairs....after I had paid $4,000 for the range itself. For the last two repairs Dacor has paid for the parts, while I paid for the service call and labor. This has reduced the cost of my last two repairs by about 50%, which is very helpful. However, Im still very disappointed in the product. I spend a good deal of time in my kitchen and do quite a bit of baking, cooking, and canning. I thought that if I spent more money and bought a high-end appliance, it would serve me well. At the rate that Im going, I will need to purchase another range, unless I want to keep throwing money into repairs on this one, which I dont. I will not ever purchase (or recommend) another Dacor product again.

I have renewed this and still have a warranty for 2 more years. I cannot get anyone to do the repair on this oven. My location is at the Sardis Lake. I cannot get anyone out to service. After remodeling our kitchen, we purchased a professional line Dacor stand alone gas range/oven. Within a year, the heating element needed to be replaced. Subsequently, the control panel almost caught fire and needed replacement, following a second heating element. The oven is not reliable and has cost us over $600 in repairs, labor and parts. The Dacor company is not willing to recognize that this oven is a lemon, even though their rep admitted that the number of repairs seem to exceed the average number. The company refuses to pay for a tech to come in to examine why this range continue to have electrical problems. It is not working again, and the customer service rep wants us to pay out more money to have their tech diagnose the problem and pay the cost of repairs and labor, while they will cover the cost of the parts. I am done paying out more money on a defective appliance. I could have purchased two new less expensive (and more reliable) ovens by now.

We purchased a Dacor wall oven when we renovated our kitchen in 2010. After five service calls, a replaced circuit board and broiler element, they found a broken wire which must have happened during clean cycle. I have been without an oven for two months and would not recommend buying a Dacor oven because I think it has a faulty design. The issue is still ongoing.

My Dacor oven (DO130S, S/N V-A-10160044) is less than 18 months old. While it was in use, it popped, sparked, tripped the circuit breaker, and died. I called customer service, and voiced my concern on safety due to potential electrical defect. Steven, the customer service person advised me that this oven is no longer in warranty, and to call a repair service. I reiterated the concern for product safety. He placed me on hold, and the call was dropped. I called again, and Mike answered. I repeated the same info, and he was not willing to listen to any concerns. He hung up on me. This experience does reflect on published Dacors commitment to customer service, or product safety.

When I bought my house, the previous owners told me that theyd been having problems with the Dacor oven. They had purchased a replacement burner and prepaid the Dacor authorized service technician to install it for us. We have worked for three years now to get Dacors authorized service representative to install the part for which he has already been paid, and have been using a toaster oven to prepare meals for a family of four the entire time. The oven will heat to 135 degrees, then either shut off completely or immediately switch to broiling mode and burn whatever is inside it. When I called Dacor to see if they could help with the service issue since the technician was authorized by them, they told me it was my problem, not theirs. Although if the product they manufactured wasnt faulty in the first place, it wouldnt be anyones problem!

I moved into a house that already had a Dacor unit in place. Within months, I discovered that I owned an oven that could be fixed by throwing the circuit breaker. Then, I learned about invisible hands that turned the 325 degree convection oven to a 500 degree broiler. The final act was having all three glass panes shatter and the control panel cracking as punishment for assuming that the oven cleaner on an expensive gourmet stove would function according to manufacturing standards. The repairman ordered replacement parts. He spoke with someone who was off shore so forget about Dacor being all American made. The wrong parts were sent. He has reordered. Meanwhile, I have been without an oven for two months. If this goes on, I am going to Home Depot and buying a Hotpoint or GE. It is the same price as replacement glass panels and the control panel.

Dacor Distinctive Series Range model DR30D - One week after the appliance warranty expired, the oven stopped heating. The repair man replaced the circuit board. We still got a code 33 when we try to get the oven to heat to 400 degrees. Called customer service, they said to flip the breaker to the unit off for a few minutes. Seemed to help but we do not use the oven much, as we also have a Meile microwave/oven that we love and use that more. Then I cleaned the oven using only the ovens program. That locked down all of the gas cook top knobs. I called the repair service, it snowed on the Saturday of the appointment. They cancelled. I did not check the stove on Sunday. On Monday the repair service walks in and simply turns it on, no problem. VERY FISHY!!! I have heard the manufacture can control it by computer chips. This appears to be very true. Now the stove does not heat past 250 degrees. After speaking to a few people it appears this is a very common issues. Dacor is a lemon. Do not waste your time and money.

This range has never cooked anything well, overlooked and undercooked. Several technician visits, board replaced, thermostat replaced, starts error messages and clicking all on its own. Recently the cooktop has exploded with a big BOOM 3 times. We finally turned off the gas and Im cooking outside with the camping stove and BBQ. I am so upset about the explosions that I am shaking. Today it exploded while all knobs were OFF. Im thinking about getting an attorney. IF my house caught on fire my insurance would not pay unless I do everything in my power to mitigate damages. I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. Dacor ERD30s06BK/LP - thought reputation was good. Quality seemed outstanding. Like: Appearance; Dislike: Performance, Reliability, Serviceability, Quality of parts, Availability of parts. In a word: Dont buy a Dacor! Ive learned that if you have a repair person/organization you can depend on ask them to suggest the best appliance based on their repair experience and their ability to obtain parts. Dacor has already replaced range once. Oven interior cracked when self-clean was used. Stovetop burner ignitors frequently continue to spark after flame is established. Stovetop burners will sometimes extinguish when flame is low. This experience showed me that just because an appliance is expensive, it doesnt mean good performance or high quality. Because of the cost of replacement we have lived with the Dacor until the next major repair is not possible because of lack of available of parts or cost.

In September 2009 we did a complete remodel of our kitchen. Replaced everything but the refrigerator, with DACOR appliances. Within a few months we had problems with the dishwasher and finally replaced it with a GE in 2012. About that same time we had problems with the Dacor Epicure 30 Single Oven Model EO130SCH control panel and had to have the repairman out to work on the relay/computer board. At Christmas 2015 I had trouble baking, the temperature wasnt accurate and have had the repairman again. He says that the computer board is fried (his term). Ive tried calling Customer Service with no success. Ive e-mailed them with same results. The appliance repairman has told me that he cant find the part. All the distributors that hes called have been told that the part is on back order. Ive been without an oven for over two months now with no fix in sight. Have been told that IF we find the part it will probably run around $500.00. These are appliances that are only six years old and have had gentle use by senior citizens. Anyone reading this - PLEASE DONT BUY DACOR! Youll be sorry as I am.

I bought a Dacor appliance package for a new custom home which costs over $30K+. Every single piece of appliance is defective. I am OK as long as Dacor can fix or address the issues but it takes them several visits, put the appliance out of order and fixing it does not happen any earlier than 8-10 Weeks. Imagine you living with a fridge, microwave, range and oven for 10+ weeks. The column freezer stops making ice. I call for service and tech informs the lever was jam and he fixed it. Wait 48 hours. After 48 hours still no ice. Another call and after a wait of 3 weeks another visit and diagnose need new part. Wait for part 4+ weeks and another 3+ weeks for replacement. Fridge does not cool and maintains temp 45 degree+. Service tech showed up 3 times and promised it is fixed. Have thrown out thousands of dollars worth food. To date I dont have it fixed. Waiting for a part, tech not available scheduling issues etc. To date I have been out of fridge (8/12/2021) 9 weeks from I made the first call. Currently I have a tech scheduled for 9/1/21.This is not the end. Microwave will run normally and wont heat the food. After several phone call and waiting they figured the door pin was not connecting properly and need parts to fix. After 10+ MONTHS it looks like it is fixed. The range control panel is hanging from underneath and no one seems to care to fix it. Every time I call they tell me its normal. I believe Dacor has not QA/QC in place prior to shipping the appliances to customer. Worst experience ever. If you need more details do not hesitate to call me on **. I hope you run away from Dacor. Dont even consider this option. I have a track of all phone call and email and timeline with Dacor service. I am planning to file a lawsuit and recoup some of the costs and losses.

I owned a 36 Dual Fuel Epicure range that required at least an annual repair for the same thing. The control pad (the pad with the buttons that controls the oven and light) would fry. This would cause the oven light to come on and off like a strobe light. Luckily, I purchased an extended warranty from the vendor, as each time this was replaced it was $750+ to repair. When I complained to Dacor on their support line, the representative actually told me that I was running the oven too hot!About 6 months ago, I sold the house and left the very expensive range behind. It was problematic from day one. Other repairs included replacing the ignitors. After a year of use, the insulation on the door came loose and was hanging in plain view through the window on the door. Every repairman that came to service the range said the same thing.... that they repair a lot of Dacors. When it worked, it was a great range. If you do buy a Dacor, do yourself a favor, buy the extended warranty. You will need it and it will pay for itself.

I, too, purchased a 30 Heritage gas range in Nov 2018. The first time I ran the cleaning cycle (2 weeks ago), the oven heating went out. After time consuming attempts to reach the warranty dept, finally got a call back. Sent the required information and was told the warranty servicer would contact me within 48 hours. After not receiving such call, I reached out via email again to Dacor and was told to contact the servicer directly. Well, I just did that, and was told they refuse to service me because DACOR IS NOT PAYING THEM! How is that for a luxury appliance company making millions off of its customers and not paying its service companies? A very clear breach of contract since my warranty is active until November 2021. I have never in my life had such an experience, with the LG, KitchenAid ranges I have owned. Never even have needed one ounce of service in their life. I could have written every one of these negative reviews. Ive had all the same issues with my Dacor Epicure oven. Faulty computer panel, failed motor in the downdraft fan, oven not maintaining temperature (meaning NOTHING cooks correctly in this oven), burned out lower element and discolored interior. And let me add that the interior oven fan stays on for about half an hour after you turn off the oven. What purpose could that possibly serve???? Suffice it to say that this is a poorly made product by a company that has no desire for repeat customers. I am currently working with customer service to try to get my oven working for Thanksgiving, but I just dont have much hope after reading all of these similar issues. We remodeled our kitchen in 2006. I spent a fortune on a Dacor dual fuel gas cooktop with electric oven/convection oven. My Dacor problems seem so normal I mostly deal with it. My 2 biggest complaints are the glass oven door is not airtight, it is darkened between glass, very hard to monitor my baking. And the temp gauge has always been off by 15-25 degrees. We purchased this range after remodeling our kitchen. We opted for the Dacor because of the deep oven that the other high end ovens did not have. I am an avid baker so this was a plus. After a year and half the oven stopped working, it was not getting hot. Thankfully is was still under warranty and it was repaired. The technician determined it was the oven control thermostat that was not working. Fast forward two years and again the same problem, along with the right front burner now also not working. And wouldnt you know it, the warranty is expired. Another technician came out again and stated to fixed the two problems it would be approx $250.00 just for labor and not including parts. CRAZY INSANE!!! If we would have known all the problems and we would have purchased either a Wolf, a Thermador or even a Monogram. How can so many issues and problems be happening with an range that is only 4 years old? Especially one that costs over $6000. It has to be a lemon or poorly manufactured. Ive contacted Dacor and was told they need to review my file to make a determination on what they want to do. REALLY, you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know there is a problem. Theres lemon laws for cars, why not appliances????

I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased
I am writing to complain about our Dacor dual fuel stove that we purchased in 1998 when we built our house. Initially things went well, and I enjoyed baking in the oven and the convenience of the gas stove top when we had power issues. But then the honeymoon ended, and the problems started. After completing our first self clean cycle, we started getting the F1 code, and noticed cracks in the front on the stove. Our repair guy came out, took a look, and then informed me that Dacor had had numerous problems, and were not so good about living up to their warranty. He was right, Dacor felt in no way that they should help resolve our problem. With 4 kids, you cant just go without a stove, so we paid for the parts and repair. I figured it was just a one time thing, but I was wrong. We are now again looking at replacing the same part just 3 years later again with cracks and the F1 code. Dacor should be ashamed. Do the math. If they walk away from responsibility on all of these faulty products that average $5,000 a piece, shouldnt they have the money to pay for the fixes or maybe hire better engineers? They need to be held accountable for this mess. I need my oven back on!!!! And after the money we have paid for repairs, light bulbs, and parts...... the rest of the care should be free and on them.

We purchased a Dacor dual fuel oven range in 2008 in conjunction with an extensive kitchen remodel. It was beautiful and expensive. It has had innumerable problems. 2008: One of the igniters broke requiring replacement. 2014: oven stopped working, required new relay board. June 2020: Relay board again broke, oven stopped working. December 2020: Oven stopped working, heating element broke. These were serious problems each resulting in 1-2 months without an oven as the parts had to be special ordered. We have not had an oven since December 2020 (it is now March 2021). We are waiting for a replacement part. In addition, minor problems included a broken indicator light and burner grating. Dacor customer service was only moderately helpful, referring us to local repair companies that had difficulty obtaining parts. Dacor has told us that this should last decades but we are seriously considering replacing it after 12 years because it is very unreliable. I would not recommend a Dacor based on our experience.

We have 3 Dacor appliances that we purchased new when we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago. Our cooktop’s igniter continually clicks even when it is not in the light position. This only happens on the front 2 burners (the back 3 are fine). We have cleaned the unit and cleaned the igniters over and over. We have had 2 authorized Dacor service companies and another company look at our unit. Two said no fix exists; the other replaced a part after talking to Dacor and that did not fix it. When I called Dacor, they noted to get another service company and call them when they are here. I am concerned that this again will not work and I will have to pay another service fee. When they were here I asked them to replace a light in our double oven, but they noted they would have to remove the oven from the wall to do that and it would be costly, to which I said no thanks. Is it true that the oven has to be removed to replace a light? Another issue is that our double wall oven’s upper unit only gets warm to about 200 degrees. Another issue is that the microwave door open button does not move the door, we have to push it and pull the door open by hand. I have turned to Dacor service and to our local service techs and we are at our wits’ end. Any help here?

Updated on 09/25/2020: I wrote my original review of Dacor back in June 2020. This was after 4 months after I first started having trouble with my Dacor dishwasher. It is now September 25th, and still waiting on parts from Dacor to get dishwasher fix. Now the $10k refrigerator is not working and have been awaiting parts on it for over two months. This is absolutely the worst “high end” brand I have ever bought. This now a Samsung owned company and is not worth the money. Stay clear if this brand. Look at the other brands in this category like Wolf, Sub Zero, Miele.Original Review: I purchased a complete Dacor Kitchen package worth close to $20k for a home I did a renovation on. We had the dishwasher a month and it has not worked since. Finally they sent out someone to service it. The service tech said nothing was wrong with it. The next day after the servicemen left it was back making the same horrible sounds and AGAIN not working. I called warranty for about the 8th time and all the rep could tell me is... that did we read our manual and make sure we were operating it properly???? WOW!! Im a custom home builder and have bought numerous high end appliances packages and generally have had good service and even replacement if its a major problem. Dacor makes it sound like this is my fault, that they sold me an INFERIOR product!! Dont waste your money on DACOR. Miele, Wolf, Sub Zero all have superior products and service!!

I have owned a Dacor dual fuel 6-burner range for several years. I paid approximately $5,000 for the product. It has proven to be totally unsatisfactory. The gas burners click and make noise whenever you try to turn the burners down to a low temperature. The cook top is very hard to clean. The range is a constant problem. It smells bad, does not heat up promptly, and the broiler feature is always a problem. A gas oven is supposed to heat to and keep a constant temperature - the Dacor does not. The broiler will not cook food evenly or well. The door to the oven will not close properly and is constantly partially open. The hinges do not seem to work properly. Most importantly, I have tried on many occasions to get Dacor to do something about the defective product. They have been totally non-responsive. When I did finally get somebody to come and look at it, they spent about 2 hours cleaning it, accused me of using the wrong cleaner on the cooktop, and presented me with a bill for $800. I asked if they would just give me my money back and take the defective product with them. DONT BUY DACOR.

I have a induction Dacor stovetop. Its stopped working and blinks an error code. Called customer service who didnt know what the code meant. I was told my model was 2015 which the rep said was old. It was installed in 2017. All they would offer was cheaper replacement parts if I paid for someone to come and figure out what the problem was and install the parts. I was told the replacement parts were not cheap though. I was told that because were the second owner of the house they couldnt fix it under warranty (even though it should be covered under warranty) because they couldnt say how it was used before (commercially or residentially). Give me a break! It gives me almost no confidence in getting this thing fixed. Warranty is a joke and customer service is terrible. So far I had to leave a voicemail for the reps next level who will call me back after the weekend. Im waiting to see what (if anything) they will do but from the first rep. I dont have a lot of confidence in their products.

I spent a lot of money buying a Dacor double wall oven because it was supposed to be top of the line and dependable. Now, the circuit board needs to be replaced and the oven is just 5 years old! This seems absolutely ridiculous for an oven this young to have such a major problem! I am very upset about all the money I am going to have to spend to fix it. Ive never, ever had any oven problems with other brands like this in my life. We remodeled our kitchen and I thought I was getting something better and now I realize that this brand is not living up to my expectations at all! I am using an authorized Dacor repair company and they told me that they are seeing lots of problems with this brand. I do not recommend this oven to anyone.

The refrigerator was installed in April 2017, a $20,000 purchase. It had problems from the beginning and theyve only gotten worse. The unit was replaced (not the exterior, of course) during the first year. And now, less than a year later, it is not working once again. Weve been waiting over a week for a service call and have lost thousands in groceries - have had to eat almost every meal elsewhere - and have not received a single response from their service department. I will NEVER purchase another Dacor product again. I am preparing for legal action.

We have enjoyed our Dacor oven for a number of years but cannot recommend this brand due to high cost and frequency of repairs. The relay board, at $400 a pop parts cost only, has had to be replaced twice within 5 years. The oven door hinges failed in normal use so that the door would not close tightly and had to be replaced. The halogen oven lights fail frequently requiring replacement. Parts cost is only part of the issue. The inconvenience of not being able to use the oven for extended periods of time and high appliance repair labor costs are significant. All in all, a very good oven but reliability and frequency of expensive repairs lead us to not recommend Dacor ovens.

Thank you for your attention. Since my post, a resolution has been reached and Dacor will be replacing my range with a new one. That is much more representative of the pride and reputation of Dacor. The executives were very responsive. Perhaps front line agents are not empowered to make these decisions, however, in my case, the escalation brought the matter into the right hands. Happy with the direction towards the final outcome, not the 4-month process that discounted the reputation and my perception.

Wish Id known Dacor issues when buying my oven. (Primarily for style - yes, assumed it would function as stated; high end brand). Thank goodness I DID NOT BUY other Dacor appliances. My 30-inch Dacor oven/cooktop burners work but finish started coming off quickly. Above range microwave handle broke within a year. MAIN PROBLEM: OVEN DOOR either wasnt properly installed because it doesnt close flush with unit or its hinges have loosened over the years. Although oven eventually heats, it takes forever. After examining door hinges closely, looks like oven has become unhinged - as have I. No loose parts seen. Recommendations? Other than STEER CLEAR OF DACOR.

My wife and spend $12k on a new Dacor range/oven 15 years ago. The range works well, the LED lights on the gas knobs needed changed once in a while, the oven door wouldn’t close properly and the heat in the oven wasn’t distributed evenly. All that we could live with. Then the oven died. The repair technician ordered the part. Samsung don’t make it anymore. We are now left with no oven. So we have spent $800 a year on a Dacor range that now doesn’t work. Thanks Dacor… or Samsung?

As a contractor, we were fortunate enough to build our dream home which was completed in 2005. After much research and many show room visits, we purchased Dacor appliances for our kitchen. As the saying goes, if I knew then what I know now. Our biggest (note I said biggest, not only) issue is with our ESC130 oven. If you own this oven, do not, repeat, do not, use the self-cleaning mechanism. I have had this repaired once and then replaced once (along with a relay board). I seldom use this because I know when I do the lock mechanism will continue to cycle until it is replaced. This means, while I can still use my oven, I have to time when I open the door based on when the lock is cycling in the unlock position. I must also turn the oven off at the circuit breaker or listen to the continuous warning beep that the lock is cycling (as if I didnt know). After repairing this feature once, I next choose to have the mechanism replaced and Dacor offered me a discount on the parts (the oven was and still is out of warranty) at a cost of more than $500.00. This is on top of what I had already paid to have it repaired just 18 months earlier. I feared using this feature again as I didnt want a repeat performance. After cooking macaroni and cheese yesterday, I felt I really needed to clean the oven and made the mistake of using the self-cleaning feature of the oven. I dont know why I was surprised when the locking mechanism refused to stop cycling.I contacted Dacor today only to speak with the rudest customer service representative I have ever encountered, Steven. No last name. He is the only Steven who works there. He refused to listen to me, spoke over me when I did try to talk, and did not allow me to speak with anyone else. There are no supervisors available on Fridays and he could not transfer me anywhere. I left a message for someone else to call me (they did not). I called back later that afternoon and was given the name of a supervisor, Nhi. She was not available and I spoke with another customer service representative. I learned that Dacor is aware they have a problem with this locking mechanism and are trying to correct it. This got my hopes up, thinking that the company would now do the right thing and replace this mechanism at not cost to me, or at least at no cost for the parts. Not so. Even though Dacor knows there is an issue with this mechanism and they are supposedly trying to correct it, all they can offer me is a discount on parts. Really? Wow! A discount for a part that you know doesnt work properly and probably wont work properly because they are still working on the problem? I just really dont know what to say. Is this supposed to make me happy as a customer? Would prospective customers want to buy a Dacor product knowing that Dacor is more than happy to sell me a known defective product at a discounted price and they should expect the same? It is probably needless to say that I would urge all prospective Dacor owners to not waste their money on any Dacor product as they do not care about their customers. I will certainly be doing my part to warn others and hope this serves to warn others as well. Dacor has a lot to learn in terms of building even what could be called a good product and standing behind what they sell as well as becoming a customer service oriented company.
