The house that we purchased already had a Viking Range and so, we wanted to continue using Viking. So far, were not impressed with the refrigerator. Weve used Samsung more than anything else before and weve never had so many issues come up as we have with this $15,000 fridge. For one, Viking doesnt have a great after purchase service. When they delivered the fridge, there was something wrong with it. The whole process took about two months for them to come and exchange the fridge. And then this year, weve had issues with the freezer, where a portion of it doesnt seem to be working. Weve been back and forth with them trying to find some service provider in the vicinity. Only after two months and a lot of follow up did they finally have someone coming in to check and see whats going on. As to how long it would take them to actually fix it, Im not even sure. The thing is, they have a third party that deals with these things, so its not really the Viking dealer. Its just a number on the brochure. You call them and they send you off to some independent company that they have in your area, and theyre the ones that are supposed to come and take care of it. As a result, it keeps ping-ponging back and forth. Besides that, the fridge looks sleek and its nice to look at. Its wide and its spacious. I definitely dont have issues with storing anything. I like that the shelves are wide and tall. So in terms of space and cooling issues in the refrigerator, we havent had an issue. Although, our ice cubes have been melting since summer. But still, when things get out of hand, theyre gonna have a third party, not necessarily a Viking technician coming and dealing with your issues and theres a lot of bureaucracy and telephone calls involved in the middle that waste our time as a consumer. And when you spend so much money on a refrigerator, you sort of dont expect this. You want things to go smoothly. And it all goes back to how great that service provider is, which from my initial experience, theyre not great. We even had an issue finding the refrigerator in the beginning. We had to go to another city and order it. So, if I were to recommend Viking to somebody else, I would say make sure that if its not that easy to procure the item from the beginning, maybe it wont be that easy to get service after the purchase.

Other than the big oven door, my Viking range is great. I can put a couple of whole cookie sheets in there. Theres plenty of room to do whatever you wanna do. But the big door, unless I stick something in it, will not stay closed when we cook. It leaves a light on so I have to put something in to close it. I love my Viking a lot but the oven door is a pain in the neck.We also got a Viking refrigerator and the light went out. The guy came over to fix it and he didnt have what he needed. We tried chasing that guy down and we still dont have lights in the regular side of our refrigerator. Viking finally sent the instructions and I had them chase the guy down. So we have the Viking manuals but I havent been able to get to that tech to get him to come back.

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

I bought my first Viking in 2004 with my inheritance from my grandmother. I always dreamed of having a professional kitchen. I purchased all Thermador except for my Fridge. I have a Viking 36inch drawer freezer on bottom. Never ending recalls and issues then I purchased a new one from the company on a recall. The man showed up with the new unit and fixed the recall on the recalled unit. Well, that was in 2011, it is now 2017 and guess what? I am in the same shape as I was before. However, no deal. I have fallen on pretty much deaf ears. You can even YouTube funny skits about it, but the techs will look at you like you are the only person in the world. I have a mental block on that beeping noise when the compressor goes out and I am about to lose all my food. Good news though, I just found out they are indeed suppose to defrost themselves. So, if you are a gambler, like taking chances... maybe just maybe you will be lucky enough not to deal with what I have. Cheers!Updated on [05/06/2018]: I wanted to follow up with all the promises that were made to me. Well, that just did not work out so now I have a trusty 159.00 freezer from Sams Wholesale Club and my ice cream is now frozen. I found out that well they had also replaced the parts they replaced while I was ill for a pretty penny and they are still claiming no fault. However, my Thermador products are working like a charm and I will be investing in their products. Please learn from my experience... when you buy expensive products make sure the quality and customer support is behind you. I have no problem paying... but don’t give me Magic Chief with a Viking name on it. Not to mention treat me like a human being. I work hard for my money. I’m sure even Viking would not tolerate what they do to their clients.

Ive had Viking for a month and were not enjoying it since it was broken out of the box. The range has two igniters that aren’t working and two burners that aren’t adjusted correctly. So, we’re trying not to use it until it’s fixed. They had a guy out a week ago who said that they needed to order parts. And there’s been no ETA on when the parts are gonna be available or when the range is gonna be fixed. The Viking reps have been okay, but the problem’s been with the contracted service. We’re pretty disappointed.

Growing up, Ive always known Viking has great appliances. They’re the best and I liked the look and the quality of their appliances. All my appliances in my kitchen now are Viking and theyre beautiful. They look classy or expensive. The Viking team has been wonderful as well. They sent me replacement parts and had somebody out to fix the refrigerator, no questions asked. The refrigerator didn’t work but it does now, so that’s good. The repair guy was fantastic too. They have been better than I could have imagined or hoped for and I would always recommend them. I would never not get a Viking product again.

Viking dishwasher (we have an all Viking kitchen) has disappointed me twice now in 5 years of ownership. Hoses that are internal to the cabinet just come off which results in leaks. Since this model has a catch pan, a float will result in the dishwasher staying in drain mode. Ive found that short non-barbed plastic nipples will allow hoses to come off over time. Poor design on what otherwise could have been a nice unit since it did a great job cleaning dishes. I just purchased a new unit from another company.

Being empty nesters, and retired we rarely use your oven, except for when company comes. So even though it was past the warranty, plus we had a problem at the beginning with the settings of the range, we believe this range is a lemon. They say because we didnt have complaints earlier, its not. Customer service was horrible! Our oven stopped working during roasting our prime ribs, we had to ask neighbors to finish the prime rib and barbecue the other one; the hot dishes that were going to go into the oven after the prime rib was done had to go to other neighbors house. We would call customer service and ask them to return our call, but they never did. So we had to call over and over again. That meal was at Thanksgiving time and we still dont have it repaired yet, and they called saying the part hasnt come in so theyre canceling tomorrows appointment! Right during the holiday season when we like to do a lot of Christmas baking! So its ruining our Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanks a lot Viking! Learn from us, and our experience: never buy a Viking!

We bought the new model of Viking Refrigerator that was a little less expensive than Subzero and got better reviews. We like it and my favorite is its lighting feature. Viking Refrigerator is okay but we’re not blown away. We noticed that the icemaker doesn’t know when to stop making ice, it just overflows. It does all right keeping things cold but sometimes it’s freezing something and sometimes it’s not. It’s just bizarre, it’s like some things in a certain area of the refrigerator tend to freeze. Almost not solid frozen but get close to frozen. It looks great though. Its aesthetically pleasing. I have a cheap refrigerator in Florida that performs the same. Nonetheless, the Viking dealer was great. We got all of our appliances through them. If someone would ask about Viking, Id tell them to do the research and really find out what products work the best. Viking is a good line but I think refrigerators are overrated.

The Viking Range works. My wife and I think its design looks really cool and shes heard great stories about the way it works. I also heard that the quality lasts a long time. My wife wanted a Viking, nothing else. She was shopping left and right for it, including seeing if she can get a used one. She walked into the Viking dealer where we purchased the range from and they had a sale of this particular range along with a free dishwasher. Our experience at the dealer was nice and easy. We just signed the bottom line and the range got picked up when we needed it to. Im not a professional chef, but with the Viking Range, it looks like Im in a professional kitchen. The controls on the burners seem to work a lot better than any other range Ive had before, starting from the simmer up to the high temperature. Im happy that I bought it.

I liked Vikings brand equity and overall integrity. The registration was easy and the quality of the range is great. The grill is great too and so is the uniformity of cooking. We love the product and were very happy with it. The entire kitchen is Viking - the microwave, dishwasher, range and refrigerator. Their functionality and style are also great. We had a small issue initially. We had a gas leak. They scheduled service which was a little further out than I wanted. Without me initiating it, they contacted another company and got them there even sooner. They were quick to send out a service tech and they rectified it. Overall, it’s a positive experience. Viking was very responsive and proactive.

We moved to a new house and the Viking Appliances were already there but they were very old like more than 10 years old so I replaced it. They have a reasonable price better than Subzero. It was a bit expensive but they have a good reputation among my friends and I just wanted to keep the same brand. The refrigerator is brighter than before and I like when the door close I feel like it’s suctioning the air kind of feeling. But I hope for the shelves to be strong in the future because it’s a little bit weak. Because the refrigerator I had was old with broken shelves I’m very careful when I put too much things on the shelves so I hope it stays well. I wouldn’t recommend to my friends regarding the price but I like it.

Our Viking built-in refrigerator door fell off, on top of my 8 year old son. The hinges that broke were actually the replacement hinges that were given to us by Viking after the initial door hinge recall in 2009. The replacement hinges were only in place only a year before failing. Has anyone else had a replacement hinge fail?My 8 year old sustained some minor injuries. The door, which weighs a couple hundred pounds, damaged my tile and also dented one of my ovens. I am now without a refrigerator as I will not allow the door to be replaced a third time.

I was selling the house and wanted to use some upgraded name. Ive known Viking for years and it seemed to be a better deal. I replaced the GE appliances with Viking. But unfortunately, even in the short time that I had it, we had problems with the oven and refrigerator. And the more I talked to people about it, the reputation has really turned bad like Viking is pretty poorly made now. Knowing what I know now, I would never buy a Viking again unless I hear that theyve really improved their quality. However, I like the refrigerators Dutch doors where its open on each side. Their team also had good follow up on the service I needed.

30 Viking Gas Stove/Oven - Lots of issues with ignition, an expensive repair that you do not want. Viking should provide a YouTube video on how the do it yourself with reasonable priced replacement parts. Window seal in oven is falling out. Knobs are getting loose. Black paint on stove top surface scratched very easily when removing and replacing iron grates. I paid over $3K for this and cannot believe how poor the quality is. Now the oven is temperamental, sometimes it will work, sometimes doesnt want to work. For a three years old oven it should not be doing this. Feeling frustrated. Spend a lot of money for a lousy quality oven. Trying troubleshooting the problem but all result fails. This should be simple to fix. There is not much electronic that goes with this oven. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. We have always liked the higher-end brands. We knew that Viking was a high-end product and we’ve always felt that we’ve gotten better attention if there were service issues from the higher-end products. Purchasing the fridge was easy and efficient. I already had the refrigeration in mind because I went on the Viking website and researched that accepted the water. I knew that that’s the one that I wanted, and I went in the dealer and we were able to knock out all the items that I needed. Also, the delivery was very quick and the delivery men were great. When my refrigerator broke right before Thanksgiving, they were able to get me refunded because I was going out of town and they were able to get to me right after I came back.I have my kitchen custom built. I had a Jenn Air before, which I was not happy with. The smaller Viking that we purchased was able to fit. We like the size and everything about it is just pretty. The only thing that I don’t like is there’s no water dispenser since I don’t like having to access the water and ice on the outside of the refrigerator. I didn’t know that there was no water dispenser when I purchased the fridge. I might have reconsidered it had I known that. But other than that, we like the fridge. There’s a lot more space than the Jenn Air and I like the way that the compartments are all set. I have a lot more room for things and they’re easier to see. Were very happy with our purchase.

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

When I went to pull it out to just empty it, I couldnt remove it and I cant reach into the assembly area down there to remove the proper screws to be able to remove the whole dirt pan. Its a little concerning because I have already had water on the floor once from the unit and I certainly would want to be able to prevent it from happening again. Also, itd be nice if they had a water filtration system in it so you could get drinking water out of it or like a spigot to get your drinking water. Were contractors who do high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling and we used Viking on projects. We were going to get a Thermador for the price difference, but the Viking rep thought it would be beneficial to their company to give us a heck of a deal on their product to put the Viking in. In the end, it came in the same price as the Thermador. Plus the Viking dealer was perfect and the rep was super, so we went with them. But there were a couple of drawbacks. Viking used these drill bit screws that stripped if you tighten them too much. So the door has a couple of stripped screws and it rattles too, so I replaced them with larger sheet metal screws. So one of the people in the assembly line overtightened and its stupid. Its nothing I cant fix, but for its value, I shouldnt have to. Viking is made in Mississippi and its very important to me its made in the US. But Im shocked that Viking uses a Broan motor. The motor in ours was brand new but it lasted only 10 minutes and Im still waiting for the replacement. If I had known Viking had a Broan motor, I wouldnt have bought it. The quality of Viking over Thermador is really nice but Broan motors are garbage. Also, the only thing weve used is the burners, but were still waiting for the guy to adjust them. My wife likes the little window in the range, though.Viking looks beautiful and I know the issue with the parts is going to get taken care of but its been a long time. I called the dealer and I asked where the parts were at. He told me it was kind of difficult. If I was Viking, Id get the customer a new motor and ask him not to slam us. Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Everythings working fine with our Viking range. However, we need a replacement part and it seems to have taken quite some time to get that part. There was a problem with the door, in the door handle. It happened in January when it was discovered, and we still havent had it resolved and the COVID-19 pandemic hasnt helped. But Ive enjoyed cooking on the top and we also have a double oven as well. It all seems to be working well.

I didnt like that the Viking refrigerator that I had was difficult to defrost. I also had to call customer service because the refrigerators light was not working and somebody said that the motherboard was not working. So, there were three times that they came and changed, and then they replaced the fridge altogether. The technicians were fine, but it took me a long time. I got the refrigerator in February, and finally, the replacement came and happened in April. Still, overall, Im satisfied with Viking.

Weve always wanted a Viking range but just never got around to getting one. We finally did and we chose Viking over others because they used to be the gold standard. We thought that the Viking Range was a good one and I had a buddy that loves it too. I like the gas stove/electric oven option, its the best of both worlds. I also love the quality. I thought I had an issue with the oven not being temperatured right and so I called the dealer. They came out immediately and it was calibrated properly. I was very impressed by their responsiveness.

The Viking range I have is really, really good so far. And my wife would probably say that the oven is what she liked best. It works great. We set it and it does its job. The dealers were friendly and very knowledgeable. Everything went well. With the exception of Pacific Sales that sold them to us, they were the worst people in the history of mankind. But Viking itself was great.

We were building a home three years ago, and I looked up about Viking, Wolf and other ranges and decided to get a Viking. I thought it was a top-of-the-line product and I liked the sleek look of it compared to Wolf. Im now on my second Viking since the one that was initially put into my home did not heat properly and it did not cook right since the day it was installed. So eventually, the door wouldnt close completely and that was under some recall type of thing. Viking ended up replacing the entire unit. However, there is only one repair service here in Columbus that deals with Viking as far as I know. I keep being told thats because Viking is either charging too much money and/or wont supply the parts and I would love to see some more competition rather than just one repair service that I have to call and pay their prices to repair a Viking product. I have a lot of friends that have Viking, and we all have to use the same people to repair the products.

I guess I am not the only one with this problem as I read the comments!! Has anyone found a solution? I have had a repair man out here 3x and it keeps happening. The coils freeze, the floor of the freezer has a 1/2 inch frozen solid water and water leaks out onto my hardwood floors. If this is obviously a problem why are they not fixing them??????? I had a Subzero in my other home for 20 years and this never happened!!! So during this beautiful Sunday Im inside scraping ice and cleaning up water. Someone has to be accountable.

I like the quality and the fact that Viking refrigerators are made in the US. We got one delivered in June and it was a $3,500 fridge, but there were many issues with it. The doors could not be adjusted and the panel on the bottom didnt lay flush. On the second day we had it, it went up to 80 degrees inside. It started heating up at about noon and then by that evening, it was around 84 degrees. My husband reset the fuse box the next morning at 6:00 AM. It must have rebooted it so it started working again. When I spoke with the customer service representative, she told me they were not going to send somebody to look at it because it was working. I found that unacceptable because there was something wrong with it. There was moisture in the seal between the refrigerator itself and the freezer. I could see where the freezer had somewhat warmed up because there was icy buildup on the shelves. Initially, I wasn’t that satisfied with the customer service with Viking. The freezer was lukewarm so we had the approved rep here in Hawaii come and look at it. He couldnt figure it out so we ended up ordering a replacement for it. The new one was delivered two days ago and I like the double door opening. Right now, though, I feel that I am satisfied but I hope something doesn’t go wrong because of the issues Ive had.

Weve already had three issues with the range. First, the wiring harness for the burners that they installed was wired backward so they came and fixed that. Then, the thermocouple in the oven was bad and it cycled way too frequently. It took a long time to get parts but its fixed. The third issue, which isnt resolved yet, is theres a warp in one of the panels. As the oven heats up, that warp kicks loose and we hear a bang. These issues should have been caught by decent quality control and they werent. But the oven works and I love it. I love how easy it is to clean and maintain and it cooks amazingly.

Viking appliance are beautiful to look at, however, the quality of them, not so much. I bought a suite of Viking products in 2009 (Stove, Refrigerator, Hood, Convection Microwave, Dishwasher) and have had consistent problems with them since day one. The range being the worst. Its an all-gas 30 model. The surface burners on the range work beautifully. They have gotten me through holiday and entertainment cooking when the oven would stop working. It seem that the oven has a known issue caused by cooking at high temperatures (400 degrees) for a period of time. Not only does the knob control area get so hot that you need an oven mitt to touch them it also, over time, burns out the circuitry that is behind those knobs, caused by condensation and/or heat. The last incident was the icing on the cake when the oven wouldnt shut off. I had to turn the oven off at the breaker -- a safety issue no doubt. The circuitry is clearly fried again from cooking a chicken in the oven at 425. (The same faulty circuit board was replaced exactly one year ago.) Viking has told me before that the molding needs to be replaced, which it was. No change in heat coming out. The door shuts fine and solid from what I can tell. A recall was done on the stove that supposedly corrects the oven from turning on by itself. I sense that wasnt fixed because I couldnt get the oven to turn off the last time I had an issue. In a recent email correspondence with Viking, a parts tech said that a fan needs to be repaired or installed under the range-top area where the circuitry is housed. What?! There is no fan and whos paying for that work-around. (Honestly I dont think he knew what he was talking about. This is Viking (Middleby) customer service, mind you.) I dont use my oven that much as Im usually grilling. I probably use it 10-15 times per year and rely on a larger Breville toaster oven to roast/bake smaller things for the two of us. (That appliance has saved me many times and is worth every penny and has lasted well beyond the life of the Viking stove, at a fraction of the price.)Ive given up on Viking, as other appliances in this suite have been problematic just as much. I stopped using the dishwasher years ago. Thats a saga unto itself. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesnt You never know. You get a light show on the control panel telling you why it failed cleaning. My point here is that Viking Appliances needs to be held accountable for the quality of their products. Supposedly they are premier appliances that should be built to last. The Consumer Safety Commission needs to be aware as well, especially with regard to safety concerns with the range. I cant in good faith recommend buying a product from this company. Again, they look great but they just dont hold up. I will buy American again but not them!!

We wanted six burners for any time that we would host the family party so a lot of thought went in for this particular range and hood. My husband made the choices and it had to be electric for the self-cleaning and gas for the cooking part. The reps were knowledgeable and they told us what was available and what we could get. My husband had one picked out and when we found out it was not self-cleaning, the rep steered us in another direction. Now were very happy with the Viking range. Were enjoying how evenly it cooks and I like how the racks slide out. We also have the Viking hood and its been working very well. Its a little noisy sometimes if we dont turn it up all the way so we have to talk to the builder and see if they installed that properly. We hosted Thanksgiving where we had 18 people over, and we pulled it off and everybody was pleased. It was the most beautiful turkey we ever pulled out of the oven! It was so evenly brown and it was just amazing. And all the food came out hot. We were able to boil water quicker than any of the other ranges that weve ever had. It also cleaned off easily by moving the racks off the top and wiping everything down. The range is so wide with those six burners, my husband and I werent bumping into each other when were side by side.

Ive had my Viking range for four weeks and I absolutely love it. When I turn on the knobs, it’s very precise. It doesnt have any play in it, especially the oven, so when I set a temperature, I’m confident that that’s the temperature. I like how it’s raised up on the bottom so that I can get a Swiffer and clean up under there instead of just the dust building up. The range has been fabulous and I’m really happy with it. We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

We bought the top-line Viking refrigerator as well as Viking oven and microwave through Best Buy, and Best Buy has been horrible. The communication around the third party that Best Buy uses for installation has all been really poor, and getting my appliances installed was the worst thing ever. First, the built-in $9,000-refrigerator was installed incorrectly. The installers failed to put a kickplate on the bottom of this refrigerator and they probably threw it away. So we had to have someone come out and that took a while. We’re easygoing people and we’re not that tough to deal with. However, I bought that refrigerator in early June and to this day, I dont have the kickplate yet, so that has been frustrating.Best Buy has a customer service troubleshooter that was assigned to us. That person was really nice but has been lousy on follow-up so we called and left messages. When I finally got a hold of Best Buy’s case manager, he said that Best Buy was told that the manufacturer did not have the kickplate in stock. So I told them that I was gonna call Viking, which I should have done early on. When I called, I spoke with their customer service person who was great and a really nice lady too. I asked her about the kickplate that is missing and she said they had them in stock, which was what I anticipated the whole time. We havent heard anything back yet, but a company is supposed to call us. Still, Viking is a premium brand and they have been responsive to us and the experience with them has been great.

We were looking at a refrigerator, too, and when we saw the Viking refrigerator, we thought it looked cool, so we got it as well. It’s expensive and costs more than a regular refrigerator, but its nice. We like the look and the layout - the top and bottom with two doors on the top. It feels kind of solid, plus, we like the way it lights up on the inside when we open the door. We also like the dashboard in the inside of the door where we could look at all the different stuff we could do. Weve only had it a short time and so far, so good. We got a Sub-Zero in our other house and it’s comparable to that.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

I need them to work as they match everything in my kitchen. My viking microwave also doesnt work properly so I just use it to reheat. This house was remodelled around 5 yrs ago and from the time we moved in it was terrible. Who needs to clean dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher to find them still marked when you take them out. My daughter has the same crockery set and has a cheap dishwasher and hers come out spotless. Please someone help me as I need everything to match in my kitchen. We ordered the Viking Refrigerator and were very happy with it. We got it from the Ferguson in Sarasota. The salesman knew what he was selling. I wasnt over-the-top with him but he was okay. What was a little unusual was that they didnt have the stuff in-stock and we had to wait for production and delivery for about a month. The installation was rather annoying too. The guys that delivered it werent plumbers, so they took out our existing refrigerator, put it in the garage where we wanted it, and left the Viking out in the garage as well because they couldnt install the water element. They had to send somebody back the next day and we were inconvenienced by that. On the other hand, the quality of the refrigeration we received from the Viking seems excellent, so far. Also, I like the looks, the heavy door, the lighting, the way its organized, and the freezing compartment because of the French door. Wed recommend it to a friend.

Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. There was not a Viking dealer close to me in West Virginia. So I bought a Viking gas range in Maryland and I paid to have it shipped. I had it for a few months now, but the oven quit working. I had it repaired five times and every time it died, it was the same part. Finally after about a year and a half, Viking offered to give me another range and another warranty. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.

Ultimately, everything with Viking went well. It was kinda frustrating there for a little while. It was tough to figure out who I should be dealing with because they do their service calls through another company. It was confusing to know how I should be kinda contacting. I bought my range from an appliance dealer where in the book that came with it, it said, “You have a two-year warranty from date of purchase.” And so, it was within the two years. I submitted to have it serviced and they said it wasn’t valid because it was more than five years after the manufacturing date. I had to really fight multiple people on that. So, it was kind of a pain. But they said, “You know what? We squared it away. We figured it out.” And they honored it and then they came and eventually serviced it and its working great now.The issue was the fan that removes the heat away from the oven was faulty. So, it wouldn’t get rid of all the necessary heat and it would get too hot in that area, and the safety mechanism would shut off the oven. It couldn’t be above a certain temperature for more than like 30 minutes or it would shut itself off because the heat wasn’t being taken away efficiently enough. The oven itself is great. Even the fact that it broke, I understand things happen like that. It was just a pain dealing with their customer service. It was really frustrating. And one of the reasons I bought it was for that warranty, and then when I thought they weren’t gonna honor it, I was not happy. But I love my Viking. Its accurate, it does everything I need, and it looks great. Everything about it is great. So, I really like the oven.

I like Viking Ranges look but the glass in the oven range door is loose so whenever you clean it, it slides. And I uncovered that one of the burners is actually shaped differently than the other five. I’ve emailed Viking support about it a week or so ago and I haven’t heard back from them yet. I was really just going for the pure industrial range. With the Wolf, we didn’t like the big red handles. I know they offered us black. The Jenn-Air, I didn’t like that it had a digital clock on it. I just wanted that basic, industrial look. And that’s essentially why we ended up with the Viking. I would assume that the Wolf and the Jenn-Air probably have better features. And from what I read online, they don’t have many company issues in the past. But the look drove everything, unfortunately. Also, their dealer always had to contact the Viking sales rep but hes very slow to reply and promised things that never happened. He said he did stuff when he didn’t. It was all pushed back. Id suggest a new sales rep from Viking. From what I’ve also heard, there are not very many companies that service Viking. They were having to call a company out of Illinois, which kept saying that they were scheduled and coming and would never show. And then, they finally found Mr. Appliance based out of Indianapolis that had an employee that used to work for Viking that now works for them. So, they are indeed servicing Viking equipment now. My range is over a year old, so I don’t think I’m under any type of warranty. I did speak to a Viking rep on the phone about the burner. And I don’t know if she was saying that she was going to send somebody to put one in, or if they were just going to send me the part and I had to figure out what to do with it from there. So, I’m not really sure how all that works. I’d probably need to read that warranty a little bit longer. I know there’s a five-year on different types of parts and a one year on something else. So, hopefully, that’s obviously covered since it’s a manufacturers defect that they put the wrong burner on. The burner cap has little legs on the side of it. The burner is rounded at the top. It doesn’t have a lid like all the other five so the cap doesn’t stay put. You’re not really ever touching it, but whenever you pull it off to clean it, you just to have to position it where it sits. I love the way that they look but they were just a lot of trouble.

We live in a rural area fifteen minutes from the Interstate freeway. Five years ago we purchased an integrated Viking dishwasher for top of the line bucks. It took Viking five service calls to get it running and it has performed flawlessly until now. So we call local appliance dealers and none of them service Viking. We call Viking and they tell us there is no local factory authorized service. However, they give us names of repair services who should be able to help us. All but one refuse telling us they have problems dealing with Viking and therefore servicing their products. The only one who would deal with the situation tells us the main circuit board is shot and the minimum charge for the service call will be around $1,100 to change out the $250.00 part due to travel time. We are about a one hour drive from Medford, Oregon. We are replacing a perfectly good machine to the tune of $1,200.00! Viking sucks!!!

I knew about Viking based on recommendations of friends, of the internet and of other people talking about it. I purchased six pieces of Viking appliance. The reason why I purchased the six pieces is because it all says Viking professional, but when those six pieces were delivered, one of them doesn’t say Viking professional, which is different than what I saw on the website. Its not something that Id expect because I especially selected the model that says professional. Nevertheless the Viking range is of high quality. It was complicated when were selecting the range hood because it has different kind of motors but they provided very good advice and suggestion for us to select which one we need.

I owned a 48-inch Thermador that we bought 20 years ago. Some of the burners were going out, and so we started researching for a new one. I bought my Viking range on the 27th of July. When I got my range, I never got a manual. I called and spoke with a gal. She told me I could download it. Its like 30 something pages. I paid $12,000 for a range and theyre telling me I need to download 30 something pages for me to have a manual? After fighting with me, she said she would have someone send me a manual. But Ive never received a manual. I like my range though and I definitely like it better than my Thermador. Its easier to clean too.

All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? I am frustrated and disappointed with how this was handle.

At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too
At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too far back and the cord broke when it got pinched between the gas line and the stove. When I was ready to clean it, the main big oven never shut off. Its like it never got to the heating temperature and it just heated well exceedingly. So it burns up the igniter and some other part because the oven got too hot. I couldnt even touch the stainless steel on top of the stove. Id washed the whole thing like I was supposed to and then Im supposed to run the oven at 450 degrees for an hour to an hour and a half to burn everything out. And I found out that it got so hot and it would work until it melted everything. The Monarch people came and replaced the cord but it still didnt work. So the Viking rep came out, replaced the cord with a Viking approved one and replaced some other parts but it still didnt work. Two weeks ago, he came back out again, replaced some more parts and then ignited it. It didnt work, it didnt shut the heat down and then he started looking at the wiring and he found that the wire that was connected to the knobs was connected to the wire to the griddle and vice versa. So when we turn the oven on, it thought it was heating the griddle but was never getting heated so thats why the oven never shut off. He fixed those two wires that were crossed and then the oven started working again. But that night, we were starting the oven and then the igniter kept shutting itself off. It would try and ignite after five times and then it just quit. So, were still trying to get it fixed and he scheduled to come back again to look at that. This has been going on since the Viking range was delivered to our house. I am nearing two months that weve had the stove and its still not working properly. It seems that even have they not pinched the cord, because of the wiring issues which we didnt know about, the oven would have still done the same thing. It just happened to be something that happened that we thought might have caused the problem while in retrospect, it didnt. When we bought it, it was a floor model and we knew that. However, we did not know at the time, we didnt ask and they didnt disclose, that it was seven years old so, there was no warranty on it. Ive got all the emails from them that states everything theyre saying they asked their Viking reps and Viking is not really standing behind the product because it was a seven-year-old floor model. That would make a big difference in our decision to purchasing. When we bought this stove, we were offered at the time an extended warranty for five years for $400. We thought that its a Viking stove and were paying $8,000 for it. It should have the factory warranty so we chose not to buy the additional warranty. But then, when we started having problems with it right away from day one, I wanted to buy the additional warranty. I asked if it is too late to do it because we were not told that this Viking stove is seven years old and we wanted to protect ourselves. And I found out that they should never have offered us the extended warranty because the stove was over five years old, that it was their mistake to offer us that warranty and that we cannot get any Viking warranty because of the age of the stove. It sounds ridiculous to me because its still a brand new stove. But they have been paying for all the repairs because I went online and I registered the Viking product. They gave me a 90-day warranty for doing that. Im trying to get everything done within this 90 day because after that and if we have issues, I dont know what were gonna do. Im sure that the repair person is in contact with Viking because thats how hes getting paid. So now, my husband and I feel that when it was put together, the manufacturer miss-wired it.Also, I strongly feel that especially because there was manufacturer problem in the range and because it sat for seven years, it would have been a problem they would have had with ranges sold seven years ago. So, personally, I feel like we should have more warranty because I dont know that were gonna have everything that could happen, happen in 90 days. But I told them that Im not paying a dime to repair the stove and if it cant get fixed, then they can take it back and I want my money back.My experience has not been great. I feel like Viking is dropping the ball with standing behind their product as the manufacturer. But I dont know if they know that the wiring issues were their fault. Whoever put the stove together made a mistake. Between the stove and the hood, weve spent $10,000 so were not talking about a $1,500 stove. Ive been very patient, I sent numerous emails and Id let Monarch know what happened and where we stand. Im not happy and I feel like we need to have a warranty. But their stand is they cant offer us any warranty that Viking wont back. All in all, if we can ever get it working properly, we can use the small oven but not the big one. Its my husband and me right now so it hasnt been an issue but if we have a dinner party, it would be. Also, I am a little concerned that Im only getting a 90-day warranty, Im two months into this, I still dont have a working stove and whats gonna happen at the end of the next 30 days because it was faulty wiring which caused all the damage to my stove. The repair guy is out at South Lake Tahoe and I live in Sparks, Nevada so its an hour and 20-minute drive for him. He only goes to the Reno-Sparks area on Thursdays. So hell come out on Thursday and then if there are issues after he leaves, then hes not coming back till the following Thursday. I thought he was gonna come last Thursday and he didnt put me on the schedule. So I have to wait until this Thursday and its eating up my time.I have gotten nowhere because Im always the third party person dealing with Viking. The repair person talked to Viking, Monarch talked to their Viking reps and I havent had anybody from Viking contact me to talk to me about my issues. I told Monarch that if this cant be resolved, Im returning it and I want a full refund. If I have issues, then I will contact the appropriate department. They need to make this right. Im trying to be very reasonable and Im starting to get to the point where Im not gonna be. I am one of those people that try and work with everybody. Things happen and it doesnt do any good to get all upset. Its not the sales persons fault. But Im starting to get to the point where frustration is starting to set in. But we love the range and the parts that are working. We love everything weve used on the stove, the small oven and the broiler.

The counter depth side by side refrigerator is great. The freezer is a drawer pull out from the bottom. The only issue we had was the ice maker kept freezing up due to a lack of insulation from the refrigerator above. They had to visit us 4 times to retrofit it and get it working. So far so good. The price was a bit higher than Samsung, but hopefully, itll last longer. The design is great for us and it looks great. My wife is happy with it.

My husband and I like to cook a lot and we like the high BTUs. Viking is known for quality, and we also like the elegant style of the range. We did a professional kitchen with a remodel and really liked it. My husband likes the Viking ranges ability to sear steaks. He actually likes the steaks in the oven better than on the grill now. The only thing I dont like about the oven is when you close the door, it really wants to close. The first time I went to close it, it slipped out of my hand and it slammed shut. You have to really hold on to the door, unlike other stoves where theres some tension at the end and it wont shut all the way until you push it to close. Other than that, Ive put some water on the stove and I was amazed. I put it on the front burner, the high BTUs, and the water heated up. It was boiling within a couple of minutes and it was very nice to be able to have the features that allow it to work as well as it does. Weve enjoyed the range and I would recommend it.

We bought a 6 burners, 36 Brigade gas range a year ago. After 6 months one of the door hinges got really loose and the glass on the door started to slide sideways. We called an authorized repair company to come and assess the problem. The decision was to replace the door, hinges, glass so they ordered a new door assembly. After 2 months they brought the door but it was a Viking range door and with a different liner color. They ordered it again and 4 months later they brought the exact same door! I dont know how they identify the parts but its obvious that the Brigade door does not exist. We have not used the oven for 6 months. It is scandalous to pay so much and not only to get a bad product but bad service too.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

I like that its not super digital and its more analog because that crap breaks all the time. We have a full suite of Viking appliances. Its pricey but we chose them for their reputation and style. My wife likes the refrigerator more but I find it a little too shallow. Everythings up front. But aesthetically, its very pleasing and it goes with the other appliances as well as the rest of the redone kitchen, and it’s so far, so good. Initially, we had a problem with the refrigerator. It was probably within the first month. Id found a puddle of water below the freezer on the floor. I did not appreciate that at all. It had gone into a defrost mode unexpectedly, and we had to throw everything in the freezer away. The icemaker has that bar that will cut it off as it slows up. That doesnt work. The ice overflows and ends up on the bottom of the freezer. It’s never turned itself off, so you have to turn it off manually to stop the ice being generated. Otherwise, if you pull out the top shelf of the freezer, its higher than the rod because it pushes it out of it, pushes it to the back and out the back, off the end. Were not the only ones. We speak to other people who have it, and they say they have the same issue. From what I understand, there is no fix. It just doesnt do what you thought it would do. Thats something that from a design perspective should be looked at.

Purchased a beverage center/Mimi fridge with a 5-year service contract, thank god! It has never worked properly. We have had at least 6 service calls and probably several thousand dollars in repairs. The unit has never worked properly and has be out of service longer than it has worked. By the time we get the call to the repairman they order the parts they come back to fix, the fridge breaks in about another week. It mainly freezes the contents which leads to exploding sodas and cracked glass. It has read the incorrect temperature as well as unable to change the temperature.Right now the unit was fixed yesterday after waiting several weeks for parts and just today called the store where it was purchased to have someone come out and check it for yet another issue. The store we purchased it refuses to exchange it because it is a high endproduct and they cant take it back... I wish we purchased a 300 hundred unit from Costco instead of wasting $ 2000 on this...at least it looks pretty! We have a 5 yr service agreement so when that runs out it will be placed on the curb. Do NOT waste your money.

Ive always known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time and it was in the house that we purchased. There was a Viking Range, a Viking refrigerator, and a stove then. I was replacing an existing Viking refrigerator that was about 17 or 18 years old. It was built-in so I was looking for something that would fit into the exact space where it was. And when I went to the appliance store, the salesperson at the appliance store steered me to Viking. I was buying a refrigerator and a dryer that day and he showed me something else but he strongly suggested the Viking and since I didn’t have any negative feelings about Viking, I went with it. This refrigerator will be the third refrigerator and the first one kept having problems. It would freeze up and the icemaker wouldn’t work. The refrigerator section would heat up to about 43 degrees and the freezer would get down incredibly cold. I had six service calls on it and finally, the service guy said, “I think we need to get this thing replaced.” So Viking replaced it after several weeks and sent a new one out to Asien’s Appliance here in Santa Rosa and they delivered it. However, the guys that delivered it couldn’t align the doors properly. The refrigerator section was about half inch or a bit lower. The door was lower than the freezer side so I called the people that handle the warranty repairs again and the guy came out and looked at it. He said that there was something wrong with it and maybe it was dropped. He couldn’t fix it and jury-rigged it so the door worked. For a while, the door wouldn’t even close but then he worked on it again and he got the door to close by taking some part out. I got word that Viking set up a delivery of a replacement for that one. This will be the third one and hopefully, it will be okay. I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend but at least Viking is faithfully standing by their warranty.

After I bought Viking appliances, Ive been having problems, and the products are less than two years old. In the first year, we had a problem with the dishwasher. Something went wrong. But they came out and fixed it. Then we had a problem with the refrigerator. The heater for the ice maker didnt work, so there was water pooling at the bottom and then flat out. They came and they changed the heater one time. Then a week later, the same thing, water was coming out again. They said there was some piece over there that was missing. I was disappointed. A $10,000 refrigerator, and within two years, we have problems. For products like these, it should have a longer warranty than one year. But I like it. It has all the features that I need. Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. I like the design, quality, size and features of Viking. The delivery of the refrigerator went well. I had it delivered in March, and been using it fine. But it wasnt until about three weeks ago, I had some renovating and remodeling. I had the plumbers come out and they connected the water line to the fridge so it can make ice. They hooked it up and I left for work, came back and only about 10 pieces of ice were made. So, I called up the place that I bought it from and they sent out a technician today but they couldnt figure it out. The technician was like, Oh, you need to send this in to Viking. This is a 700-pound unit. I spoke with them and they said that they will come out again to get this figured out. So, Im not very happy with the fridge at the moment. We purchased out Viking refrigerator at Atlantic Appliances and should have listened to the salesperson who told us it was really an AMANA refrigerator with a VIKING label on the door. He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

Viking had been recommended by several people including our son and daughter-in-law who had one for a long time. The range we received over two years ago turned out to be just froth with a series of problems and we had various Viking repair out there. We received a factory replacement about two months ago and theres been one little igniter issue. But that was fixed and were back on board again. If it wasnt for the repairmen who knew our problem, we still wouldnt have one. We would have thrown it away. It was terrible. We just plainly could not continue with a device that was so unpredictable. The oven knobs got incredibly hot and the fan was really noisy. And it repeatedly would shut itself off. I would never buy a Viking stove again. And the one we have now is working much better. It shut itself off, but it was the igniter and the repairman fixed it. But the knobs dont get hot and the fan is extremely quiet. And thats so much nicer than we the one we had that was extremely noisy which almost shake the house.Viking made some changes with their service and repair facility and model. They went to an outside supplier that made multiple visits but had no knowledge of Viking as far as training. But when we finally got to the Viking employee that takes care of the State of Washington, Idaho, Montana and Alaska, he has been great. If it wasnt for him, we probably wouldnt have that stove anymore. We went through a lot and there was not a lot of support from Viking. I started keeping a log on Microsoft Word and its now over eight pages. And of all the various different calls, their replies, the kept emails that are incredible. But anyway, its just been a long journey. You got more than what you want to know.I went on Facebook at one time on their website to say how much trouble I had had and they replied with, Oh, well call your Viking such and such. We dont want this to happen. But it didnt do any good.

For the love of God, do not spend your hard earned money on Viking appliances. I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set from an authorized dealer in 2009, spending about $20k. Within the first year of purchase, my top-of-the-line built-in fridge stopped working and it took them more than a week to repair and thank God it was under warranty. A couple of weeks ago, my dishwasher, which I have used maybe 20 times, stopped functioning. I called Viking and discovered that it only came with a 1-year warranty and that I was responsible for the labor portion. **, I spent almost 2 grand and you need to tell me that it only comes with a 2-year warranty. The following represents my email conversations with the Viking rep who basically doesnt give a ** about a customer who just 3 years ago gave them so much business:My first email to them: “Purchase Date: 08/05/09; Type of Appliance: Dishwasher; Model Number: VDB325SS. Dear Sir/Madam: Less than 3 years ago, I purchased an entire kitchen appliance set consisting of fridge, stove, hood, and dishwasher totaling close to $20k. However, I am writing to you today to express my dissatisfaction with the purchase of the dishwasher referenced above. While we have only used it about 20 times, I discovered that your company only warrants the parts for 3 years and not the labor portion. Consequently, I had to pay $305 in labor to repair the unit. To be specific, through Viking, I contacted Airflo in Van Nuys, CA, and their technician came out and upon inspection, he stated that, due to lack of frequent use, the circulation pump had gone bad. He said this was common for this type of model and to use the dishwasher at least once per week.”“The technician further stated that had I purchased the appliance just months later (early 2010), Viking would have covered both parts and labor for 3 years. Upon hearing that, I became extremely upset at the fact that here, I spent almost $2000 for a professional brand dishwasher that came only with a 1-year labor coverage which seems kind of unreasonable as this warranty is comparable to basic units costing $200. I honestly do not think I should be obligated to pay the $305 especially when months later, you decided to extend your coverage. In all fairness, taking into consideration the extraordinary circumstances, Viking should reimburse the labor charge which I paid. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.”Their response: Im sorry for the issues you have encountered with your dishwasher. As far as the warranty, the changes to the Viking warranty were implemented on 05/01/11 not in 2010. Im sorry for the misinformation you have received. Your unit would have a full 1-year warranty from your purchase date. At the end of your warranty period, you would be responsible for the charges. Thank you.”My response: I believe my concern was not the exact date when Viking implemented the change in their warranty policy but rather your company selling a defective product, specifically, the circulation pump in my unit. It seems this is a bit too common issue based on my readings online and according to your Viking authorized repair technician statements. In fact it is so common, that the technician always carries around a couple of circulation pumps in the van when he goes out for service as more than likely, this model dishwashers stop working because of the circulation pump. In any instance, this is not a monetary issue for me, but rather a principle one. Also I dont appreciate the corporate response I received from you since as a customer, I think I deserve more. Thank you.As of yet, it has been more than one month and no response. Anyone considering purchasing Viking Appliances better think twice. This company, through its retailers, promise you the world but when you have any issues, they are nowhere to support or address your concerns. I am going to make sure that all my friends, family, co-workers, etc. know about their dirty tactics.

We liked the people we bought our refrigerator from and they recommended Viking Refrigerators. We were going to go with Sub-Zero but they steered us in this direction. However, our Viking freezer keeps breaking down on us and we have a lot of ice forming at the bottom. Weve had, at least, four service calls and were due for another one cause more ice is accumulating at the bottom part of the freezer. Having people service a call has been a huge inconvenience cause I have to be there. The window of opportunity is like from 12:00 to 4:00. Service guys are sent out here which is great and the freezer works when it gets fixed, but I wouldnt recommend this appliance to anybody else.

We love our Viking range and I use it every day. I like the open range design element of it. It’s a little bit harder to clean, but it’s better for the temperature control, which I think is why it’s used professionally by professional chefs. It was a personal recommendation from a family member who had one as well, and we purchased it through a local affiliate of a Best Buy. It’s been great. I have had no problems with it, and it’s probably the best stove that we’ve ever had.

My friend has a Viking range and hes had it since the mid 90s. Weve been to his house and used it numerous times. When we bought our house, it had a Thermador stove range and it started to die this year. It was 20 years old and the parts were unavailable anymore and Thermador wouldnt give us anything to help us out to replace it. So we got a Viking range and we have it for a month now. We like that the cooking temperature in the oven is accurate, and that its a professional size. It has six burners which is great on holidays. During the week, I just keep a griddle on the middle too. But for holidays, its perfect for doing all that cooking. The Viking range is made well and theyre made to last, unlike the newer ovens that are out there that last four or five years, and then you have to replace them.We got the range from Gerhards and the guy that we worked with was nice but he didnt have a really good knowledge of all the brands. When the installation guys unpacked the range and put it in, I asked where was the backsplash and they told me that I had to order it extra as it didnt come with this model. I would have bought it initially with the range if I had known that it didn’t come with any backsplash because it comes flat with just a small bump in the back for the heat distribution from the oven. So the guy at the store wasnt a great salesman. We bought a dishwasher from them previously and their installers were terrible, so I was a little leery of going back. But theyre a local company that has been in business for generations. The installers for this range were much nicer than the installer for the dishwasher. So, they did a much better job. But overall, Viking is a wonderful range and Id definitely recommend them to a friend.

I have owned my Viking oven for 13 years. I purchased the oven because of the Viking name and quality. Unfortunately, I have had 3 costly repairs and I am now faced with a fourth repair after a self-cleaning cycle broke the oven lock. The trouble is compounded by the fact that I cannot finding a repair person in the area willing to help. I have contacted 2 companies that have said they would call me with info about repair and neither has returned a call. Disappointed to now have 4 costly repairs on a very expensive appliance.

Bought used in 1998. Still working great. Converted from natural gas to propane. Newer models have more precise temperature control, but I am happy with this old workhorse. It has a huge oven, stovetop has 4 burners plus a large griddle. Stove is 36 wide.

Viking DDSF036 SS Counter depth side x side. The door was opened on the fridge side and one of the glass shelves shattered into little pieces. I called Viking to replace the shelf, no problem. Now 2 months later after my credit card was charged months ago and jerking me around they are telling me that they cant make or get the shelf. Needless to say, I will NEVER buy another Viking Appliance again. Now I have to go out and buy a new fridge because this part isnt available anywhere and YES I have tried everywhere to find it.

On the top part of the oven door towards the inside of my Viking range, the metal was not filed or buffered or sanded down. It’s a real dangerous place for it to be and I cut my finger closing it one time. I took the time to take everything off and use some sandpaper to sand down those edges. Thats something that they need to look at. Also, I wish the legs were more adjustable than they are. My counter height is about an inch lower than what they had because of tile that was put on the floor, so I had to do some modifications to make all that work.Vikings pricing is a little high and for that price, I would have figured it would not have the issues that I had. I wouldnt have minded paying the price. But I had to do all these little things to it and that kind of bothered me. Other than those, I love it and I enjoy everything about it. I love the burners and the layout. I love to cook and it does really good. This particular model is the only model that they offer like this with a convection oven in it, which I think is awesome.
