Im happy so far with the quality of my Viking refrigerator. I like the style. Ive got a Viking cooktop, hood, dual oven, and dishwasher. Ive had two repair guys out, one for the beverage center and one for the cooktop. They were both very lovely. I ran into a warranty issue with the beverage center though and that was a nightmare. I just gave up and paid for it. It wasnt expensive, but it was a waste of time. Other than that, Im happy with everything.

Viking Ranges is a name that speaks for itself. Everything I’ve ever heard has always been good. We went with them because of the reputation and we were dealing with the warehouse that had one Viking stove that was the right size and had the right looks of it. However, there were a lot of issues. One of the burners didn’t work and the oven would turn itself off after I turned it on. It also wouldn’t maintain the heat. It would be cold in the front and hot in the back. We had a company come in at first, but they kinda oversold themselves and they didn’t know what to do. They put it back together and said they couldn’t fix it. Another fellow from a different company came and we were super pleased with him. He was very professional and he knew his stuff. He seized up what was wrong. Our dilemma was we don’t have a gas line, so we had to go with propane and we bought a stove that was not propane. They had to alter it. The first company thought it was just a simple fix, but it wasn’t. They had to adjust all the frames. The second guy fixed it and ordered the parts, although it took forever to get the parts. But he consistently called us and said he was working on it. They were supposed to be coming and it did. He called, came, and fixed it. However, it was a new stove, so I don’t understand why it has so many things wrong with it. Everything’s working fine and it’s good now. It maintains temperature. I made some chocolate cookie chips and they came out great. On the bottom or on the top, they were perfect. It’s a wonderful stove, but I’m a little apprehensive to recommend it because of the start-up problems we had. It definitely was a problem when we got it and it was not lightweight. You don’t wanna be taking things in and out because it is a big stove, it is a double oven.

I’ve had friends with Viking and I thought it was a really good one. But mine has had a lot of trouble. My range was put together wrong so it burned out wires. It won’t work half of the time. I’ve only had it since November and I probably cooked on it three months out of all these months I’ve had it. It’s not really good. Viking sent someone to look at it and they worked on it one time, replaced some things, and got it going. But something else went wrong and maintenance people were sent to check it but Viking refused to pay for the service. They were supposed to get in touch with me to figure out what Viking is gonna do about my problem. The guys who worked on my unit said Viking just needs to send me a new one because mine never worked. We’ve spent a ton of time and I haven’t been able to use my range. It’s still sitting there. Viking got feedback from me and I’m still waiting on them to call me back. They won’t return my phone calls. I used my unit when it worked but I waited two months to fix it the first time. That’s so unsatisfactory. I need someone to fix my Viking.

Consumers BEWARE. Viking products are overrated and no better than buying a cheap brand. We purchased a Viking Built-in Microwave Hood (VMOR506) and Viking Range (model # VDER5304BSS), installed November 6, 2018. After just TWO weeks use (Nov 22), the microwave and vent QUIT WORKING. Finally SIX weeks later (Jan 2, 2019) the microwave was repaired. The range also needed repair... but lucky us... that was just the external decorative lighting. Throughout the process, the Viking Customer Service has not been helpful. We are told company policy is NO replacement unless the product breaks down consistently and that we should view the repaired product as a NEW microwave. The Viking message is simple: we sell you a defective product and made our profit. Meanwhile you get to wait 6 weeks for the repair (no microwave, no vent, no convection oven) and hope that the repair indeed makes it like new. And if it fails again after the one year warranty is up...well thats the consumers problem.

I never used the oven and the first time I used it blow. I call the service center in Mexico and they send a supposed technician to fix it. He charges me 2000 USD. The next thing is that he leave the oven working with no interior light and the door with a lot of scratches. Then the oven worked for 20 min and it blows again and in the blow it make a short circuit in the microwave oven so now I have a completely destroyed oven and no microwave. I call the service and they say that they dont know me and the technician is dead. Honestly I will never buy a Viking in my whole life - is a cheap product.

We purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2008. We have had continuous problems with it and have had times gone up to five months because the parts could not be delivered. Our latest problem began the end of June and the repairman is still waiting for the part to be delivered. While the repair service is competent I believe, they cannot do anything unless they have the parts. This is been a totally frustrating experience. Having paid for a very expensive and supposedly high-quality refrigerator it is frustrating to see how many times it has broken and how long it takes to get a repair. We also have a cheaper fridge purchased at the same time when we built our home and it continues to work just fine with no repairs as of today. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. Having just got off the phone with Joy from customer service she is a ray of hope.

Our Viking range came with my new kitchen. It is a beautiful piece of architecture, and I love its high quality. I like the dual nature of it. Its an electric range gas top. I love how it looks and feels. We had a service call on it, though. Periodically and almost in a random way, the settings for the oven were not matching what it was doing. So we’d put it on bake at 425 and it would bake at 200 or something. And every once in while, it would switch into the cleaning mode and lock itself up and get really hot even though it was set on bake or whatever. It was totally weird. It locked us out once, and it didn’t cook while we had food in it.

I must manually defrost a several thousand dollar machine every few months or the repair will cost $1100. Not happening. The refrigerator will only cool to 43 degrees Fahrenheit. I would replace it in less than 3 seconds but I paid to have it built in with cabinetry on the front which cost a ton. BUT there is almost no one to repair it. I am seriously thinking about trashing this one. Very disappointing. Since I bought it 12/31/2003 it has been repaired several times. I think I have spent enough repairing a BAD machine. Viking couldnt even get the cabinetry specs correct on the website. It has been a nightmare from day one. Model # DFBB363L Serial # G0000000582.

All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

Were happy with the range but the purchase experience was not without difficulties. Immediately after installation, three warranty service calls were necessary due to faulty wiring on the convection fan and broiler ignition failures. The issues were not due to shipping. The stove came with a list of quality control checks but obviously, the factory is hasty in final QC. Its a pity because the build and design are so nice. Checking its operation at the factory would have revealed the problems and saved everyone a lot of inconvenience.

Im 59 years old and have been cooking forever and I always prefer a gas range. Part of the reason I chose a Viking was its design. We had a GE before that had some problems with its electronic components, and I was sick of replacing that card. And it happened two times and so I wanted something a little bit more simple. Im very satisfied with my Viking range. Its convection works great and it did everything it was supposed to do. I also liked the design of the inside oven of the Viking range and how easily the wire shelves slid out. It felt very stable and nice. Then theres the simmer feature where I can really bring the temp down low. It is awesome because not all ranges go quite low enough. I like the control that I have on that. I also like its sleekness. It doesnt have a whole bunch of electronic stuff because I dont need all that stuff on my range. I just want to cook with it.However, when it was delivered, there was damage done to that bottom kickplate. Everybody tried hard to order it from Viking and get it here. Finally, the salesman where we had bought it out said, You know what? Ive got a range here. Weve got it on order. How about if I bring this down to you or send this down to you. You guys put it on. And when you get the replacement thing, you guys bring it up to us? So thats what we did. It was not the perfect fix but I appreciated the salesman going bazillion miles over. It was just such a conundrum for anybody to figure out how to do it. It wasnt the delivery people that caused the problem. It was done in packaging from Viking and that was aggravating.

We bought a house that had a Viking stove installed by the contractor. We are happy with the stove. The range that we have, the stove unit and the hood, is fine. It lights when I turn the gas on and works good, but we were a little disappointed that our brand new Viking refrigerator had to be serviced within a year. Plus, we have a dishwasher that has never worked at all. There’s a warranty provided but its been a real disappointment. We’ve had much cheaper washer that performed ten times better than this one.

Bought a brand new Viking two door, one drawer bottom freezer fridge. After a while the icemaker quit. They sent a tech. They told me they needed all sorts of parts from Viking. Then I got a call from Viking. Your fridge has been discontinued! Less than a year after coming onto the market. They told us they would send us a new fridge. We got the new fridge on 1 Sept 2014. Just before Christmas, the icemaker went out on this model. The tech called three different techs including Viking because he cant get the icemaker out of the fridge. The line frozen, too. I have to agree with everyone else here. Viking sucks and I have a full Viking kitchen that I wish I could afford to replace them all!

We had a lot of problems with our old refrigerator. It was a nightmare so I didnt want to buy that same band. I wanted an American made refrigerator so I went through a whole lot of options. We owned other Viking appliances so we looked at them at a store. We bought the Viking ref from an appliance store in Minneapolis. They were very nice. They didnt scratch it during the delivery and the delivery guys were very friendly. There were no issues. The Viking ref is not a regular refrigerator. Its built in so it fits a very specific size and it matches the cupboard, so it cant be easily thrown away. You got to fix them. Another thing I really like about it is I installed it myself and bolted it into the wall. They gave me the directions and showed me where and how to bolt it into the wall. It has a lot of nice lighting. My wife noticed that it doesnt get any mold in it because it has an ozone generator so she doesnt have to sit and clean it up. That is the absolute best feature of the Viking ref. The old ref was always moldy and yucky inside and we hated it. There was no egg holder in the door of the Viking ref. They provided a closed egg container where one had to take it up the shelf, open the cover and take an egg out. That was just a pain. So I made really nice trays that sit in my doors. Viking might want to consider doing that because the other company did that. The ice maker tends to run too much ice that it overflows. When you open up the door it dumps the ice out into the cabinet. But that is little bit of a pain compared to my old refrigerator. Its interesting because its the same exact brand of ice maker my old ref uses. They should improve their icemaker because they buy it from the ice maker company. I hope that Viking is better, but I don’t hold that hope. The most important thing will be to determine how long it lasts without giving us any trouble. They were a good company. Were very happy with the refrigeration from Viking.

Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

Weve had several visits already for the fridge that we bought from Viking even though its still under warranty. Right after it was installed, the ice and water features were not working. They came out a couple of times for that and eventually they figured it out and fixed it. Then more recently, the unit completely died and it turned out to be the board for the inverter was bad. But the thing thats maddening is how long it took for them to come and fix it. The parts were in stock but it took three days to have the order put in and then these cant be shipped fast. We were without a fridge for two weeks. That to me is a poor customer service. Luckily we had a spare fridge in the garage that we kind of lived out of for two weeks. If somebodys fridge breaks, they should ship that thing via FedEx. They should come, fix it and not screw around. Then just this week, the ice thing was not working. I figured it out when somebody in the house that looks at appliances noticed that where the water is coming out to make the ice is completely frozen. I would think twice buying another Viking.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven abo
I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

Viking VCBB5361RSS 36 built-in is crap. Weve gone through 2 of these now and the second one is dying after 4 years. Viking repair has been here 4 times in a year. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. I have a large family, I cook a lot and I needed something strong and durable. I got the Viking stove and its very powerful. However, I have a problem inserting the racks. I make a cake, slide the racks out and the racks stick and go off the track. They dont slide in and out comfortably. And then, I have a vent above the stove and I have glass in the back of the stove instead of stainless steel. My husband pushed the stove too close to the glass so the first time I used the oven, the glass exploded. Also, its very busy to keep the top clean because it doesn’t have sealed burners. It has grates that I have to take in and out and steel wool in between every little crevice there on the top. I have adult sons that are slobs when it comes to cleaning so it’s an extra effort for me to keep this range clean on the top. I would have looked at something different and paid $1,000 extra and gotten a sealed burner. But I got what I got and I use S.O.S Steel Wool to keep the top clean every day. Otherwise, the stove is terrific and I like it.

We got the dishwasher, the microwave, the fridge, the stove, and the stove top from Viking. We got it all, so it all matches and we liked all the appliances. We checked all the warranties and we also took out an extended warranty on the refrigerator. Viking is making the refrigerators here in the United States, which may help prevent some of the breakdowns that we read online. The dealer was great and he knew the product very well. However, my wifes complaining because the refrigerator doesnt look like it makes enough ice. We had somebody come out there, but I would have to have someone else come out. When we had the Viking installed, the guys from Best Buy were supposed to install and make sure it was put in right. However, the cabinet wasnt quite done. When they came back out, they wouldnt mount the fridge in and they had no tools to do it either. They left the fridge there, and I had to mount it myself. But overall, our experience with Viking was fine. They called and they came out, and all the appliances work. I would recommend them.

We special ordered our Viking range in white on May 13, 2017 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. Our range was delivered August 5th with no explanation of the delay. When our range was removed from its pallet and packing material removed, we discovered the door and lower cover panel were both dented. Our selling dealer quickly noted the damage, but installed the range with the promise to have both pieces replaced. It is now November 10th and we are finally scheduled to have the damaged pieces replaced on 11/18. We are patient people, but the delay in the original delivery date and the long wait for replacement parts seems unreasonable. No reason was ever given for either delay and that makes our experience with Viking only satisfactory. We were fortunate that the operation of our range was not compromised and have been using it since delivery in August. It performs flawlessly and does meet our cooking needs. However, the center burner doesnt seem to work correctly (it never goes to high) but we are hopeful that when the service tech comes to replace the dented pieces, he/she can make a simple adjustment. My husband and I do wish that there was direct communication from Viking beginning at the original order date. To date, we have never heard directly from Viking until this. Knowing the status of our order would have been much appreciated, given the substantial cost of our Viking.

Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

Purchased one three years ago and are currently on our 7th repair visit. Reached out to customer support and there is none. Our latest issue was with the heat pump. Just melted the wires. Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. No product support, no customer support, how embarrassing.

Im an architect and I work for a multifamily development group. One refrigerator wouldn’t go into the defrost cycle. We’ve had two different local appliance repair companies. The resident asked us to replace the fridge because it’s giving him fits and he’s a VIP. This is a penthouse unit, which is why we went with Viking appliances. Now, we’re waiting on a mainboard and a defrosting panel and waiting on parts is very frustrating.Ive had some difficulties with dishwashers too. Its not so much the quality of the manufacturing as it may be how they were installed, unpacked. Some of the soundproofing and gasketing on the bottom of the dishwashers have fallen off. Theyre also a little too high tech for our residents. We had people do a lot of research on how to use the dishwasher.

We just got a new home here in Denver and they came with Viking appliances. I like the use of the gas range and the fact that I’ve got not only the four burners but the central burner too which is used for keeping things warm. We’re just beginning to use the stove a few times, and the refrigerator is in constant use. I had a bit concern though because we weren’t getting any ice. The problem was, it wasn’t hooked up properly. I had a representative come out here and turn it on and make sure it was hooked up properly. Otherwise, everything’s fine.

The sales part was absolutely a pleasure. I bought the Viking appliances at a great store which has all the high-end stuff. For some reason, I picked Viking because I have heard of it in the past. I didnt know any of the other names but I looked at everything. I liked the oven probably because my wife is short and the way the door opened and the way she could access the oven was probably the only oven that was like that. So, we purchased it. We knew that Viking was a good name, which was why we purchased all the rest of the appliances to match. Every appliance in my kitchen is Viking and I’m very unhappy that every piece came with some kind of damage. The refrigerator door never opened correctly and the cooktop has a little blemish on the front of it in the face panel. But I have no problems with the top and bottom oven. Thats been great. The refrigerator was less than a year old and it has been having a problem with the LED lighting. They have been going out so I called for service. They sent somebody who came completely unprofessional and scratched the inside of my refrigerator with a pick trying to get the light out. The whole inside of the refrigerator is powder-coated and it is not replaceable. The service guy spent two hours there and never fixed it. I called complaining that he made a mess out of my refrigerator. He said that with everything thats going on in the world, there are worse problems in life than a scratch inside my refrigerator. This is a $12,000 refrigerator. After about two months later, he finally came and replaced the burnt-out LED lights that were in it and he touched up the scratch.

We looked around at different places when we needed to buy another built-in refrigerator. Vikings reputation wasnt that great, but I thought I would take a gamble on it because I was told that they improved the product a lot. But what really sold me was that I liked the space on the refrigerator door - the little stuff on the door for condiments. Some of the other refrigerators did not have that. With the refrigerator, you dont have to change the filter. It has some kind of purification system on it. Weve had the refrigerator for about six months now and so far so good. It fits my needs. I havent had any complaints and Im hoping it continues that way. But I dont think I would be going back to the dealership. At first, they were nice then they kept on saying that the refrigerator was delivered then it wasnt delivered then it was delivered. I got a little bit angry at the gentleman on the phone. I also wanted an extended warranty and he said he was gonna send me the information but he never did. There were just follow-up issues.

I am a advocate of buying American-made every chance I get. So, I was excited that our new place was equipped with all Viking appliances. That being said, I have been very disappointed with all of our Viking appliances, and wish we had something else. As we speak, our dishwasher is making an obnoxious beeping sound. It will not stop. It has been going on for an entire day. I have tried disconnecting, shutting of the main power switch--everything, but to no avail. Dishes are piling up and I am just angry at this stupid machine. What is the point of this stupid design flaw? What is the beep telling me and why cant I shut the stupid thing off. This is just one of my many complaints about Viking. The oven hood/exhaust is insufficient. The burners do not always ignite and when they do the click of the igniter will not stop. The heat distributes unevenly. The oven often just shuts off and ruins whatever I am baking. It will reach 400 degrees and then I come back and my bread is a gooey gob because the oven is cold. The refrigerator/freezer is very poorly designed and the plastic shelves and drawers break very easily. The freezer has basket shelves--it is a bottom freezer drawer under the fridge. So, you put stuff in and the stuff ends up slipping through. The refrigerator water dispenser does not have a light to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. The dispenser doesnt work if you put the fridge onto the lowest temp available in the model. And, the company has a poor environmental rating because they use a lot of energy--a lot more than Sub-Zero or Bosch, and the filters are not recyclable. With our Bosch, we could send the filters back to the company for recycling. So I would never buy another Viking product. I have used Thermador ranges as a personal chef in other peoples home and they are far superior. I have also envied their Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. In our other home we had Swedish (Aksa) washer/dryer and Bosch appliances. I miss them. A lot.

We liked the looks and functionality of Viking but the quality is not so good. A couple clickers went out almost immediately, the ones that’s lighting the fire itself. Since my remodeling still going on and we have to call warranty and for the range of this price, this should be better. Some materials that are used for burners make it really impossible to clean including the griddle. But my favorite feature is how much room it has on the top.I bought the blower, the range, the microwave, the dishwasher and the refrigerator from Best Buy so, it’s pretty close to a $30,000 on the Viking products. But I could not get my products delivered. I paid for Everything was paid for and they got me a few items delivered. But the freezer was scratched and theres no one to talk to. That guy who was taking care of me at Best Buy left.Stove was nowhere to be found. I called the store and left messages, nobody answered. The people on the phone promised me to call me back all the time. Finally, I went into the store. They told me to stop by the following week and I did that again because I can’t get anybody on the phone every time I call. I tried to get on some guy, they looked for it, then three days after that, they finally delivered the range. It showed it was backordered, tracked it down that they arrived in Denver three weeks ago and it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere. It was a horrible experience.Think thrice because there’s Sub-Zero brand that is totally competitive and just go with them, that’s all [unclear 0:06:54] makes no sense to spend 50 grand with this kind of service or this kind of follow-up.

Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didn’t like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. It’s just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.

We had some problems with it when we got it and we got the runaround from Viking getting it repaired, so it was kind of an arduous process. I purchased an extended warranty from the company that we bought it from and when we had the problem, we called the extended warranty company. They said they wouldnt take care of it because were not out of our two-year warranty with Viking. So I had to go to Viking and Viking couldn’t find a local repair company in the area to repair it. Other than that, its hard to light the burners. I wont buy Viking again.

My Viking is about a year old, and within this first year, Ive had to replace an igniter for the griddle on the top and the bulbs for all the lights in the front. Ive found that the preheating cycle on these ovens is extraordinarily long compared to most other ovens. I dont like the feature that while its preheating, you cant put anything in because it will just scald it. There are some ovens that even during the preheating cycle, you can start heating up something or put your food in there. I do all my baking in my $500 gas oven because I just turn it on and I stick my stuff in. But I dont even use the oven of the Viking because it takes about 20 minutes just to preheat. I cant put anything in until the light turns off and its ready. Also, the ceramic paint on the top of my stove has already started to chip off so Ive had to put touch-up paint on it. I had a Dacor stovetop before this and I had it for 15 years, and the ceramic or painted metal part at the top never had any kind of scratching or damages. When I bought this Viking I thought, Wow, Ive got the top-of-the-line. I spent a lot of money. This is gonna be the best. But the burners have been very nice. I enjoy cooking on the gas burners.

My husband has always liked Viking. I replaced all of my appliances at my previous house three years ago because I also like the quality and the reliability. However, when I bought my first set of Viking appliances there was an issue with the dishwasher. It came without the kick plate. I had to communicate many times with the people at Pacific Sales and I ended up going through Viking directly to get the parts that I needed. It was really a great big headache. This time, there was an issue with the newest appliance which was the Viking stand-alone oven range. The door to the oven was not closing properly. I tried to get Pacific Sales to rectify the situation and I ended up going again directly through Viking because Pacific Sales is incapable of good service. My favorite feature of the Viking range is the easy way that it cleans on the top which has the little magnetic burner covers. My wife and I perceived the Viking refrigerator as high quality just by certification. We like the look of it as well as the configuration with the door freezer and double open top. We also wanted to get a matching set for we did a remodeling in our kitchen. So far, we really like it but theres one thing that kind of drives me crazy, and its in the minor side. On the freezer, when you open that the big drawer down below, it has an ice maker, and you pull it out. The way the ice is dumped it into the tray and it builds up, about every fourth time, it pushes the ice behind and comes on the floor. But if I open it slowly, reach back, and try to move the ice, it doesnt happen. But sometimes, I forget. The other thing that weve experienced, and I dont know that its the refrigerators fault, is that if our power goes out or trips, then the power comes back on again, the refrigerator doesnt automatically come back on. That could be bad and we initially had a problem when we first got the refrigerator. Aside from that, sometimes we spend a couple of weeks away from the house. Were trying to figure out if theres a way I could get a beeper on my panel or something that would tell me that the fridge is off. But I want it to just automatically cycle back on when the power comes back on.Also, I wish they can come up with something a little better and easier to remove than that plastic coating that they put on it to protect it during transportation. Its really a great idea to have that protective plastic but it is a royal pain to remove it for installations. Other than that, I feel like we got good value on the Viking refrigerator, so Im pretty happy.

Everything with Viking range is beautiful and works great, but there’s a couple of things we’re concerned about, that aren’t working right. The racks in the oven are not lined up right. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. And I got the microwave oven, the drawer one, to go with the stove and a part of it looks warped. But other than that, it’s perfect. I love it. They were installed last end of July. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. I had a KitchenAid that was four years old prior to having my first Viking Refrigerator, and I had nothing but problems with their refrigerators. The Viking Refrigerator is beautiful. It was the only one that looked built-in and looked really like a professional grade refrigerator with the handles. It looks good in my kitchen and it cools the food. That’s top-of-the-line so I was expecting it to be quiet but that’s not the case. The actual noise that comes out of that refrigerator is absolutely unacceptable and terrible. Its super high pitched, like a whistling sound. Its the loudest refrigerator Ive ever had. Ive had two people come out and look at it and they weren’t very helpful. One was here for five minutes and said, “No, that’s just the compressor. No, its a little bit louder than most but that’s just normal.” That was it and then he left. I had three homes and several different refrigerators and for them to act like it was normal but mine was a little bit louder than the rest made me wonder if there was really something wrong with it. Even my husband said that weve spent almost $4,000 on this fridge and its super loud. Im just going to have to live with it and maybe down the line, if it doesn’t break in, then Im going to have them come back out. My experience with our Viking range has been good so far. We have one issue when we first got it, but it was a floor model, so thats understandable. One of the burners wasnt working, but they came in and they repaired it. Also, I did have a little bit of an issue with the vendor they used. Its the only authorized repair facility in the area. They dropped the ball a little bit with time. They got the part, and then they forgot to call me, and I had to call them after about three weeks after that.I paid that amount of money for a range and I expect to have it working, but Viking didnt really do anything. Its a little upsetting. I was expecting them to do something, but they just told me that it is what it is. And so, thats the only real issue. I waited about eight weeks from the time I got the stove until the time it was fixed. But the stove itself is doing great. I like the name of the brand and what I thought they stood for, and other than that, the quality of the range is incredible. We have one of the cast iron griddles. We use it a lot. We changed to one of the accessory pieces that they have that should come in cast iron, which we prefer over the stainless steel attachment that it comes with. But its great. We love it.

When we remodeled our kitchen I decided to purchase all Viking appliances based on their reputation, and I thought they were built in the US. I have had issues since day one and have never really had anything resolved satisfactorily by Viking. My double oven has slow heating up times, uneven cooking, even on convection, and now has issues with the digital timer. My biggest disappointment however is the refrigerator. I was so excited to have a large all refrigerator in my kitchen. It has had multiple cooling problems since day one. I think the real problem has never been diagnosed and is now so bad that it is not fixable. I have spent over $2000 on repairs and it still doesnt work. The door is simply too heavy for the hinges and will not close in the top left corner. This produces massive condensation on the inside which freezes. It also causes uneven cooling where my vegetables in the crisper at the bottom are frozen and the milk on the middle shelf is warm. We have replaced the gasket and adjusted the hinges but it simply will not close the gap. This is a design problem. Disgraceful for a product that cost over $7000. As of yet Viking seems on interested in resolving a problem. They are certified repair company has said that they are unable to help any further.

I saw Viking in other peoples home and Ive heard about it before. I liked the look or their design. My builder bought the Viking refrigerator when I moved to the new construction five years ago. The refrigerator part is okay. I like the shelving and the refrigerator is very spacious. The look of the refrigerator looks great and looks very modern. Functional-wise, its a big refrigerator and it has a lot of space, but other than that, its just a refrigerator. Also, I had an issue with the freezer recently. It has a drain pipe to a pan underneath it to drain water. The pipe got blocked and there was icing there. I had the repair service to repair it. I learned from the service guy that I need to do maintenance every year to move the refrigerator out and then its back to prevent any blockage. I had a bit of interaction with the vendor and their service was okay, although it will be helpful if the appliance dealer could have a stronger service department.I have about everything from Viking. I also have a dishwasher, microwave, range, and the hood above the range, but the dishwasher has many problems. It has been serviced by the technician three or four times already. When I had the dishwasher problem, I called the service company and it took seven to 10 days for them to show up. Sometimes I had to wait for a long time for them to show up. I may not want to buy Viking at all because although I had good experience with the refrigerator and everything else, if one has a problem, I may have to buy another different set. I need to have matching appliances. Viking has to take care of everything including the one that I have a bad experience with, the dishwasher.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.

It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48 range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldnt have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didnt know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use. When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that upper management couldnt help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

The repair person advise me that the oven and broiler are operated by two different circuit boards. After troubleshooting for about 40 min. he still could not locate the problem. Tried contacting Viking online and by phone. Viking has the worst support that I have ever seen. Even the Viking Official website has no reliable support. I dont think I will ever purchase a Viking product again. It’s simply not worth it for the money they charge.

The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, “Your refrigerator’s not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.” The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.

Weve had a Viking over here for quite some time so weve investigated what else they had to offer. The refrigerator has been a little monstrous to haul and get in the wall. But so far, so good. The customer service is absolutely miserable, had multiple problems from the start, and buying from Pacific In Store at Best Buy was a HUGE mistake. The Viking Experience which I literally looked forward to for YEARS is a massive let-down. The only positive is, I LEARNED and since I am selling my house and moving to Iowa I get to buy a high end range all over again and have it NOT be Viking! Like a nice WOLF, Thermador or Capitol. When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

We remodeled our apartment a few years ago with a new kitchen. I wanted to use all American made appliances and purchased Viking products to include: Oven, stove top, microwave and refrigerator. I have had issues with all the appliances and most have been resolved but my refrigerator ice maker remains unrepairable. The refrigerator is no longer under warranty but I have tried for years to have the ice maker repaired at different times. It will work for a very short duration and then will build up ice and the whole refrigerator needs to be defrosted and a part needs to be replaced. Here are some of my out of pocket costs: 5/7/18 $89.95, 2/6/18 $142.70, 11/8/16 $256.00, 10/26/16 $59.95.Viking initially was receptive to trying to help me resolve this issue but of late I received this email. I was told we unfortunately cannot issue another warranty authorization for you but to contact Appliance Pros since the part is still covered for a year after installed by authorized service company. The repair technician can no longer fix my appliance as in his opinion, the ice maker is a lemon. He is the owner of Appliance Pros which has been on Vikings approved vendor list and he has serviced it since the problems began. Now I am left with a very expensive refrigerator that cant make ice (in Florida) and I have no recourse. I would not recommend that anyone buy Viking products! They should be replacing the refrigerator given all we have dealt with and the amount of money we spent on their products and make good on their lemon refrigerator.

Overall, I like the quality of the Viking range and I like many aspects of it even though I was supposed to have service on it again. I’ve had a service problem since the beginning and they haven’t rectified it yet even though they have tried. My favorite thing about the range is the ease of being able to clean the top. The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. We had problems with another appliance - and were treated pretty terribly as well. After much wrangling, we returned the device - and got our money back - but I can tell you... it wasnt easy!

The range has met my expectations, with one exception having to do with the temperature of the oven not being accurate. If you set it to 350 degrees, it is not 350 degrees. We inherited our Viking refrigerator when we bought our house. I heard that Viking was a sort of a higher-end product. When we knew the house had Viking products in it, that spoke well to us. Weve had our fridge for about two years now and I like it. It works really well and Im pleased. But we had this unfortunate experience at outset with repairs that needed to be made for the fridge to be at my standard because I try to keep things really nicely. Im pretty careful with things. The previous owner, on the other hand, didn’t take good care of things. He broke the handle that fitted into the fridge and we paid to get that done. The drawer at the bottom of the fridge didn’t have a cover on it which I couldn’t believe. We had that one replaced. The people at Priority Appliances in Vancouver helped us out. They told us how to remove the grill and keep it clean underneath. I get weary of parts breaking and the cost of repairing them. The gasket that goes around to keep the door closed keeps ripping. We replaced it once and I don’t wanna replace it again for another couple of hundred dollars.I hope our Viking last us a long time. It is much better than my LG fridge that I had before.

A Viking fridge was part of our home purchase. We were able to pick out the refrigerator that we prefer within some limitations. We could pick the fridge with or without the ice dispenser on the door but we couldnt really change the size because weve already locked in the design of the cabinet. Still, we had the option of picking one from three different vendors. I like the size and the overall layout of the one we ended up with. The quality of refrigeration is okay, however, theres a lot of temperature differential within the interior of the refrigerator - the top shelf might be 34 degrees and the bottom shelf might be 41 degrees. The reason I know the temperature now is because the temperature that it was set to wasnt anywhere close to what it actually was. Hence I bought a little wireless thermometer that I could put in the refrigerator to tell me in real time what the temperature was. Just from putting that in different places in the refrigerator, I found that theres more difference in temperature than I wouldve expected. I havent worried as much about the freezer although we had a number of service issues. With these service issues, it took three or four service calls to finally get the problem sorted out.

I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? I am frustrated and disappointed with how this was handle.
