Ive been using Viking for the past 13 years but I dont think Im gonna buy Viking appliances moving forward. I was very happy but not anymore. I have lots of properties and in most of them are Viking. I like the design of the refrigerator but in the past three years, the refrigerators are very bad quality. They just keep breaking down and all the repair people would come in and say not to get Viking. I like too that the dishwasher can have the filter but it breaks too often. Last year, I spent over 20 grand but some stuff was on backorder. So, I told the supplier that bought one for me to put in my invoice that I bought two. Then, when I asked for the rebate, they said that I didn’t qualify because I have one invoice. Even though the guy who I bought it from said it was gonna be okay, I didnt get my rebate of 5%. They could have looked at my file and made an exception because they would be out of pocket fast and it wasnt my fault. They should have fought with the reseller, but I didn’t bother. So, theyve lost a loyal customer.

I had nothing but headaches with my Viking Refrigerator because of the little thing at the top for ventilation. The guy installed it too far to one way. He acted like he knew what he was doing and as though it was no problem. He took the tape off, and put it all the way to the right when it should’ve been centered up. The guy from Pac Sales says they’re not going to do anything about it. I said, “I’m an older person. I can’t take it off.” We’ve got to pull the refrigerator out and the thing at the top. My real dilemma is that they want me to take it off, take it down to the store and get the new one to put it back on. The lady says, “Well, why don’t you hire a handyman to do that?” I go, “A handyman? That’s gonna cost me money to have a handyman take this off.” I felt very dissatisfied with that situation. I like the refrigerator and how it’s keeping certain things cold. Its roomy with lots of different compartments. Its really nice and looks beautiful. My favorite feature would be the ice deal because I can just scoop it out. But I’m having a problem with the filler thing, that I feel I’ve been gypped. I should’ve been more assertive towards the salesman and the others. I was lost in the delivery and now I’m at odds with them to have it fixed. Viking should have some very faint lines from the top of the refrigerator where they should’ve had the insert.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

When we bought our house, it was furnished with brand new Viking professional series appliances. We have lived in our (new) house for 6+ yrs. Over that time period, the fridge has given us non-stop problems. The $8K+ fridge is inferior in performance to any standard appliance you could pick up at Lowes or Home Depot for a fraction of the price. Issues: Was subject to a recall - took 4+ mos to get recall parts delivered for a recall associated with a major safety issue (heavy fridge doors literally falling off the hinges and hurting kids... not some minor issue); Freezer stopped working. Have had 3 different Viking certified contractors come out to service it and it still doesnt work. Weve paid over $1K in fixes - none of which have actually worked.Entire fridge stopped working. May be the motherboard. May be the compressor. Will take months to get the part in and replaced. The compressor is under warranty but Viking will charge us $150 to ship the covered part back to them if its not in fact why the damn thing isnt working. In total, were looking at a minimum of 2+ mos to get it fixed. This is not the 3rd world, but if you have Viking appliances youd be forgiven for thinking it given how youre forced to survive for months without a working fridge. We have a mini fridge and wine coolers we are storing our groceries in... because our $8+ thousand dollar fridge doesnt work and cant get repaired in any kind of reasonable time frame with Vikings stipulations about who can and cant work on it w/o voiding the product warranty. All of our neighbors with Viking appliances have had THE SAME ISSUE. All of the certified techs will privately tell you Viking sucks. Their customer service is atrocious. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON VIKING. After reading very similar reviews, I cant for the life of me figure out how they are still in business.

We received our range and it was installed in our home. Everything worked fine for a day. Then, the oven stopped working. We called for a service technician to come out. They came out, did some adjustments, and nothing worked. He couldnt get it to fix so he said that we got to order new parts. I told him that it is a brand-new range and I asked why we need to order brand-new parts. So, it arrived faultily. The parts were back-ordered for probably a month. We spoke to our regional representative, trying to figure out what the holdup was. Of course, it was blamed on COVID and I understood that. Then the parts came and the service technician installed them. Everything was working when he was here. He left that evening. I went to make dinner and put a chicken in. An hour later, the oven was lukewarm. It didnt maintain its flame. The next morning, before I called them, I thought to see what was going on. It would go through its clicking cycle to ignite. It’s a liquid propane system. And we ordered the correct range. That morning, it went through its cooking cycle like it always does and didnt light. We tried it again and then a fireball came out the bottom of it. I called the technician and told them what happened. I also called our regional representative and told her what happened. The technician was busy and couldnt come out ‘til the next week. Then he came back out and looked at it. He called the Viking service line and went through all of the suggestions that they made. He could get the small oven to light, but could not get the bigger side to light, and now has ordered another part. I think its the igniter or something like that is not working. I just got a phone call this morning that were on the schedule two weeks from now to get it repaired. Right now, I’m not very happy. We can use the top, but we cant do anything in the oven. Its pretty frustrating, especially since this is supposed to be top-of-the-line. So, basically, we have a brand-new piece of metal sitting in our kitchen that we cant use to its full extent. The most frustrating thing is were not getting any discount or benefit. We tell our representatives whats going on. We even said that we wanted another one because what if something happens to this one again? I dont know why that wasnt offered, again, ‘cause its a brand-new thing and its faulty when it arrived. I understand its a big piece. Its not like something that I brought home in a bag. It involved shipping and people installing it. But were kind of stuck as a consumer. Our technician is great. Theyre highly recommended. It’s no fault of them. Its the product and these arent cheap. Essentially this thing is the price of a car.

I thought Viking had a good reputation and high-quality appliances. Ive had my Viking refrigerator since November 1st and the buying process was fine. The rebate process was pretty good too. It’s just that the $10,000 refrigerator isn’t working that great. It doesn’t make ice and/or whatever makes the ice sort of bloated out and puts frost all over the freezer. Viking customer service sent out a local firm to fix the problem and they came out multiple times. They said they fixed the refrigerator twice but it’s still not fixed. I’m not feeling too good and I need to call Viking back again. My wife is screaming at me to do so.

It has always been on my bucket list to get a Viking set because I heard they were always the best. And since we just bought a beautiful new home, I decided to get the whole set. Im very happy with the range top and am pleased with the hood fan, but the microwave and dishwasher are both subpar. Then, one of the shelves in the refrigerator got broken which is very disappointing seeing I spent almost $10,000 for it.Also we purchased it at Best Buy at their Pacific Store and it was a very bad experience. They shipped our packages and we received six, so we assumed that everything was there. We had our kitchen totally rebuilt, then we found out we were missing a package. Then the store manager said we were lying and all the packages were delivered. A week later they found that the package was still in Cleveland and was not delivered. So, our set stood in our kitchen for two or three weeks until it was finished. Then when we installed the double oven, we found out it had been dropped in shipping. Their technician had come out and confirmed that it was. But now Viking is handling that and is sending us a new one.

My husband’s company does construction and they work with Viking Ranges. I was redoing my kitchen, so I put Viking appliances in it. I like my refrigerator and my microwave, but I’ve had a lot of problems with the range. The first one I had, the motherboard kept burning out. They replaced it four times. It broke on Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. And then Viking replaced the oven back in January but there’s still different issues that keep coming up. I had the bake module replaced, but that did not solve the problem. I did manage to cook Easter dinner this year. At least when the oven shuts off I’m able to turn it back on. The other way, when it shuts off, there was no turning it on. So, I had to cook all my holiday dinners on the barbecue grill. So we’re back to square one. If this is a lemon, they might have to replace it again.I had some not so pleasant experiences with Viking, but Sheryl has been very helpful and good. They just cant understand what’s going on. They want to send another repairman from a different appliance company to see if a different set of eyes can see something different. But to be honest, I’m not holding out any hope for that. I would not recommend a Viking Range. They’re expensive appliances. When you go online, people aren’t that happy with the range either.

We shopped around at several different appliance, some of the appliance showrooms, and I was going back and forth between Sub-Zero, Wolf and Viking. There were pros and cons for all of them but I really liked the Series 5 oven. They have a double oven that’s got a French door on top and that combined with the cooktop that I felt like it was a rugged enough look. I decided to go for a Viking kitchen package because of the oven than it was because of the fridge in particular. But if I put raw strawberries in their fridge the strawberries stay fresher much longer than they did in previous normal refrigerators I had. Before when I put the strawberries in my refrigerator two days later they’d be all shriveling. But with Viking I can put them in there, and a week later, they still look edible. There’s something about the airflow. One of their appliance guy explained to us something about that and it definitely works. But I have to buy an ice scoop because Viking doesn’t make ice dispensers in their fridges, which is fine, because I like the smooth look on the front. But I think that they should probably throw in like a food grade ice scoop because yon’t wanna touch ice cube with your hands. That’s just kinda gross.

I have a friend who is an appliance repairman and he helped me decide what I was gonna purchase for my new kitchen. I had heard of Viking before and he recommended them. I like the look of the stove that I got from them. I also like its quality, which is great. There’s no comparison between my Viking oven and the one that I had in the past, as Ive never had anything of this quality before. The sturdiness of the range is my favorite feature. In addition, the burners are all very accurate and I like the way they burn. I would tell friends to go ahead and buy a Viking range.

The Viking appliances are made to last. Between this refrigerator and my old refrigerator, for some reason, the things wouldnt last as long as they do in this Viking. The different departments and the bins in the refrigerator makes it so you can put things in different temperatures. That’s a heaven-sent. When youre a chef or you like to cook, you need things right there. You dont need to be running around the kitchen. With all those different drawers, I got the vegetables in one thing and I even have wine in one of the compartments. So, its an excellent piece of equipment. It makes cooking easier. My favorite feature of the range is the simmer. But I like the one on the right-hand side in the front because I like to cook things and get the heat high on it. You could cut up two chicken breast that might be cold and put it in there, and it would get nice and hot where it would start to brown. In a normal stove, that would not happen. If I had to do it again, I’m definitely going to be using Viking. When you want something to last and you want to pay the money for a good appliances and good equipment, Viking’s the best. When you spend the extra dollars for something, it changes your life. I was cooking on just an electric stove top and I only had four burners. So, to go from that electric stove top to my Viking, its like getting a brand new Mercedes Benz. I cant believe how easy it is for me to cook things such as baked potatoes and big rib roast. Ive cooked them all. Viking is expensive but youre paying for the quality of it. If you want the best, you got to pay a little extra, and it’s well worth it.

The micro/Conv oven I ordered came in with dents in it AND it is now going on week 4 and I STILL do not have a micro/Conv oven. My kitchen is going on week 6 and due to VIKING I DO NOT HAVE MY KITCHEN COMPLETED!!! This is ridiculous!!! I WILL NEVER buy a VIKING product again. I am redoing a kitchen, I knew what I wanted and ordered EVERYTHING in plenty of time to have it completed BUT I DO NOT have my kitchen completed due to VIKING!!!I purchased all new Viking products from our local dealer Probst Refrigeration in Effingham, IL and here I am still without a kitchen. I am NOT happy at all. My fridge came in with the Viking tag on crooked and still has not been replaced. My fridge control panel came in warped and it also has not been replaced. My fridge has been in over 2 months. I am VERY UNSATISFIED with Viking and I have only used my fridge. I do not have an order number or receipt yet as I still do NOT have WORKING appliances.

Its wide so its easy access in and out. I like the different drawers and the accessibility to the refrigeration part. Plus, you can adjust the temperature and humidity. The wide shelf space also makes it very convenient. Overall, it’s been easy, manageable, and it sits perfectly in our kitchen.

My beautiful Viking refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was not quite three years old when the freezer section starting to build up ice to the point where I could not open the freezer door. Luckily it was still under warranty and the repairman installed a heater probe kit to keep ice from forming. Not quite one year later the problem occurred again. The repairman came and repaired it. Now we are 35 days later and the problem has occurred again. Viking’s solution is to install a new heater kit. That’s a total of three times in 14 months. I asked Viking if they could help with this latest service charge but they said ‘no’ because it is no longer under warranty. I think if people are having this problem repeatedly they should either find a remedy or replace the refrigerators. I think Viking should stick to ranges.

I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

I liked the way Viking Ranges look better than other competitors. I like my ranges quality a lot, but there are a few things I dont like. The top is very difficult to clean. There’s a bar on the top before the burners and it’s like a crevice. Theres no flat surface there because of that enclosure. Everything around the burners gets into those cracks. It’s in a really bad spot for the stainless and you have to clean it constantly, and the best thing to do is vacuum it up. Plus it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t make a smaller burner. They’re all the same size and if you had a really small pan, it could be difficult to use. Other than that, it cooks very well. I like the oven racks and the way they telescope out is good. I’ve cooked a lot in the oven and it stayed clean until I dumped a batter of egg thing in it. I slipped, but it was fine. Theres a learning curve though. You can’t just put it in and use it. You need to really read.

Viking appliance are beautiful to look at, however, the quality of them, not so much. I bought a suite of Viking products in 2009 (Stove, Refrigerator, Hood, Convection Microwave, Dishwasher) and have had consistent problems with them since day one. The range being the worst. Its an all-gas 30 model. The surface burners on the range work beautifully. They have gotten me through holiday and entertainment cooking when the oven would stop working. It seem that the oven has a known issue caused by cooking at high temperatures (400 degrees) for a period of time. Not only does the knob control area get so hot that you need an oven mitt to touch them it also, over time, burns out the circuitry that is behind those knobs, caused by condensation and/or heat. The last incident was the icing on the cake when the oven wouldnt shut off. I had to turn the oven off at the breaker -- a safety issue no doubt. The circuitry is clearly fried again from cooking a chicken in the oven at 425. (The same faulty circuit board was replaced exactly one year ago.) Viking has told me before that the molding needs to be replaced, which it was. No change in heat coming out. The door shuts fine and solid from what I can tell. A recall was done on the stove that supposedly corrects the oven from turning on by itself. I sense that wasnt fixed because I couldnt get the oven to turn off the last time I had an issue. In a recent email correspondence with Viking, a parts tech said that a fan needs to be repaired or installed under the range-top area where the circuitry is housed. What?! There is no fan and whos paying for that work-around. (Honestly I dont think he knew what he was talking about. This is Viking (Middleby) customer service, mind you.) I dont use my oven that much as Im usually grilling. I probably use it 10-15 times per year and rely on a larger Breville toaster oven to roast/bake smaller things for the two of us. (That appliance has saved me many times and is worth every penny and has lasted well beyond the life of the Viking stove, at a fraction of the price.)Ive given up on Viking, as other appliances in this suite have been problematic just as much. I stopped using the dishwasher years ago. Thats a saga unto itself. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesnt You never know. You get a light show on the control panel telling you why it failed cleaning. My point here is that Viking Appliances needs to be held accountable for the quality of their products. Supposedly they are premier appliances that should be built to last. The Consumer Safety Commission needs to be aware as well, especially with regard to safety concerns with the range. I cant in good faith recommend buying a product from this company. Again, they look great but they just dont hold up. I will buy American again but not them!!

I called the customer service and they sent someone over to check. They ended up ordering a new part. It was covered under the warranty and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Second, the freezer is making a noise. Last week, we had noticed this noise for four days. Then over the weekend, the noise disappeared. I have an appointment today with the Viking’s service guy to come and fix the issue.

I have a Viking range with two different ovens and the ease of using each one, even the smallest one, was really good. But when the range came in, the small oven was not working that well and then it broke. And they knew that there was a defect with it because when I contacted the appliance service that I bought it from to say that it didnt heat at all, the guy said theyd have someone to contact me. And when they got in contact with me, the guy said that theyve ordered the parts already. It took six weeks until someone showed up to get it fixed. But now that it’s working again, it’s all good.

The refrigerator was packaged well. The wall preparation information for this cabinet depth model was not accurate in that one of the two bolts used for anti-tipping did not reach the block on the wall. Dimensions given were not correct for the block (2x4) installation. The refrigerator holds temperature very precisely and the interior LED lighting is terrific. Shelves adjust nicely and so do the drawer units. All shelves and cubbies in the door adjust nicely. The one objection we have is that the refrigerator is quite noisy as refrigerators go. Even the owners manual mentions the whirring and other sounds that the unit makes. For a product that costs this much, one would think that it could be quieter. We will just have to get used to it!!

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

Our Viking refrigerator is spacious and the shelves are usable. I use the temperature control a lot. My only issue with it is the ice tray location. All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

Electronic control in door failed within the first year - replaced under guarantee. After 2 years water leaked because of a torn rubber door seal. At 3 and 1/2 years, while replacing another rubber door seal, discovered that the metal internal bar to which the bottom of the door attached had rusted and sealing screws no longer attached. Am completely disgusted with this supposed premium and professional dishwasher (actually, according to its back, made by Electrolux as is the Viking Pro refrigerator) - no one at Viking will discuss this, and at least one customer service person told me I was out of guarantee and out of luck. Will NEVER purchase a Viking appliance again! The oven makes heating temperatures more exact. It cooks more evenly. The burners are designed to where they actually just operated at a different level, a higher level. I would recommend it. Im still trying to get accustomed to the induction range because its different than gas. But I love the way that its easy to clean. It looks great. The control knobs and everything are really sharp looking.I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. We had to buy just from a picture.

The fridge has been great except for this freezer function thing. It was kind of upsetting considering how much money the refrigerator cost. You think theyd work that out before it got to me. I would recommend it, but Id tell others about the icemaker issue. Other than that, the Viking looks amazing and the overall quality is great. I like the metal functions. The inside of the doors are not plastic so they’re cleaner. What I like the most is that somehow my food lasts longer. We had built a new home and were interested in top of the line appliances. Wolf and Viking Ranges stood out, but we decided to go with Viking since we got a good price from them and it fits what I was looking for. I got a six-burner range, a grill and two ovens from them. In my kitchen, I have a total of three ovens since we do a lot of the holiday stuff here. It works out beautifully when I’m doing Thanksgiving, Christmas or when I’m trying to cook a big meal. I have enough room for everything. The top is gas and the ovens are electric. I love the fact that I have a griddle there. Everyone can be working on something so it works out well for my family. We’ve had a good experience, up until were trying to get the small oven fixed. We had a problem with it and a chip needed to be replaced. So we had the workman out and were waiting for him to replace it. We had to argue a little to get them to come out to fix what was wrong and that was a bit of a problem. I got upset but my husband managed to calm down and get them to do what they needed to do to repair the oven. But Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

We purchased the high end Viking Double French Door Oven model VDOF730SS approximately 16 months ago. Right away we noticed that the lower oven door did not close properly. Just walking past it could jar it a bit and cause the light to come on. Viking had a repairman come out and replace the hinges (this was a brand new oven mind you), but it did not alleviate the issue. We put off requesting another repair but the warranty is only for 2 years, so we recently requested another repair. The repairman called this morning and said Viking had informed them that our warranty had expired. Our registration plainly states 2 years, and weve only had it for 16 months. We paid $$$ for that oven because of Vikings reputation for high quality. We are very, very disappointed.

Bought Viking double oven, cooktop and dishwasher March, 2018. After opening the items, the oven and the dishwasher were damaged. They were heavily damaged with dents so deep that there were holes. After weeks of complaints, numerous talk with customer service rep, I am still nowhere. About a month ago, I was finally granted a replacement for both of them. (Even though the entire time, so, the last 4 months I was told that the parts are arriving). Now, today, Sept, 5, I decided to call and make an official complaint against Viking dept handling my case. A person called TONY, said he could help. After he realized that I want to file a complaint, he started avoiding the issue. I asked for a supervisor and these were his answers: none is available, they are all in a meeting. I could hear laughter in the background. He started mocking me as well. I asked for an email of any supervisor and he said that he is not authorized to give out their emails!!! I still cannot believe the disrespect shown towards a customer. Complete lack of professionalism as well. If I had known that this is going to happen, I would have never bought Viking. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING VIKING RANGE.

I like the reputation of Viking and I got my appliances from Best Buy. The interactions I had with the reps for the refrigerator was okay, but it was a terrible experience for the dishwasher. The quality of the refrigerator I’ve received from Viking is good. I like the size of it, the width, and the depth. I like the icemaker in it, too. It is good and it doesn’t glop the ice altogether. I like the lighting in it and the feel of the doors. However, the refrigerator was damaged during the delivery process, so I contacted Viking and it took multiple emails, and I threatened to return the product to get somebody from Viking to commit to getting it fixed. On the other hand, the experience of getting the dishwasher has been a really bad experience and would probably make me second-guess buying Viking in the future. I paid for it in July, but I just got it after meeting with the manager of Best Buy two weeks ago. It took eight to nine months to get a dishwasher after I had paid for it.

Our Viking refrigerator was purchased in 2002. The side-by-side style and drawer system looked great when purchased. In the first year under warranty, the bottom slide-out drawers and hinges snapped off and broke several times. The tracking was replaced as well as the entire drawer system. The motor broke, drawers cracked, compressor broke and the sealer to the door replaced. I think everything was replaced in the first year. Now that its 2013, every side holder on the door side are held together with duck tape. The ice maker stopped working a long time ago. Drawers lost their handles - all broken off. Compressor is out and the bottom drawer a joke. Doors dont stay closed. The alarm goes off randomly when it wants to have to get out of bed to press the alarm off button several times a day. We still have the recall replacement hinges for the doors uninstalled as of yet. Apparently, the doors can fall off randomly and hurt people. Viking offered a discount for a new refrigerator if we decide not to get the hinges replaced. However, I am not sure that will solve any future problems. We should have purchased the competitors brand, which was slightly higher in price. Tried to see if they would offer anything more than the 1 year warranty. Nothing offered except a discount on a new one.

Our builder sent us to his appliance vendor to select kitchen appliances, whereupon a salesman convinced us to upgrade to Viking--there was some kind of package deal on at the time. The first 2 years were marked by constant frustration. The fridge had no shortage of problems (our version had a fridge above and freezer below). The hinges were replaced by a factory-authorized repairman twice (the first time, he forgot to lubricate them, and we ended up with a small pile of metal dust from the grinding metal parts). It took several attempts to get the door to stop swinging 180 degrees. The metal freezer rack started rusting (the factory sent the wrong part for the first attempted repair). Later, the thermostat failed and had to be replaced (it was actually my co-worker who diagnosed the problem--meanwhile, the distributor denied that could be the issue). At some point, I noticed the plastic door gasket was tearing, but I let that one go. These days, every time I look at the fridge, I cant help but notice that it isnt aligned properly. And of course, we never even thought to look at the Energy Guide sticker, where I was surprised to find its rated one of the least efficient refrigerators in its class. The oven arrived with a faulty door. A new one arrived, but the repairman sent it back because it had been damaged in shipping. The second warranty repair seemed OK, but my wife was always unhappy at how long it took for the oven to warm up. The microwaves magnetron failed under warranty and was replaced. But this morning, the microwave started arcing, smoking, and making spectacular sparks from behind the back panel. Its now 6 years old, and I think its life has ended.Im pleased to say that we did not roll over and play dead, and successfully argued our case to get Viking to cover all of our problems under warranty (except todays event). But my wife and I lead busy lives, and its been very draining to be constantly booking appointments, waiting around for repair people to show, and badgering the company. When we first bought Viking, I read all about how they studied and learned from Toyotas quality control systems. All I can say is, they couldnt have been paying much attention on those trips to Japan.

Ive built a few houses myself and somewhat custom kitchens in them, and Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I always liked the Viking product and the experience purchasing online was very good. Before I shopped, I went on the website and navigated through it, looking at what features they had and what I was interested in with respect to packages that were available. I bought the package which includes the refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and an icemaker. After that, I was directed towards where I purchased. The supplier did a very good job of walking me through my options and my rebate options, which was something I hadn’t thought of, and it saved me some good money. Im putting a new kitchen in and the range is not up and running yet, but I have plugged it in. I love the LED lights that are displayed on the front, so that was really cool. We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. One was a side-by-side and my wife liked it because it was a counter-depth but it didn’t have enough fridge space and had too much freezer space. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. I like the feeling I get when I open up the door then the LED lights illuminate the inside and just slowly fade. It’s very pleasant to operate and it has lived up to all the expectations I’ve had of it.

There was a technical issue with our Viking that led to it being replaced. It was an older model that had a very unfortunate habit of freezing over the freezer at the bottom. The customer service was quite good. My wife contacted a US service representative who referred us to a local repair person who came to our house and assessed the issue. Being that this was something that was recognized as Viking and something that warranted a replacement, he reached out to a Canadian representative who emailed us and spoke to my wife. I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. So I have a £6,000+ fridge freezer which is useless and being more than 300kg in weight I don’t even know how I can remove it. To date Viking has offered no advice or help. This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in
This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in spite of the many that precede mine, I feel compelled to chime in and advise other consumers to avoid Viking refrigerators (and dishwashers too, for that matter) like the plague!! We spent 2 1/2 yrs. on a complete state-of-the-art rebuild of our official historic landmark Victorian, to which we returned in July, 2007. As a Realtor who specializes in the sale of luxury properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had been recommending top-of-line Viking products to clients who needed to refurbish and stage their homes for resale. Today, I feel badly for ever having done that!We have a built-in custom paneled upper/lower Viking fridge that acted up immediately. Within a matter of months, the fresh produce in the lowest pullout semi-froze and had to be discarded. I believe (but am not certain) that special heater was installed under warranty to prevent this from happening again. Before the year was out, another problem (forget the details) and was fixed. Then, right after the warranty expired, the contents of the freezer melted and we paid for the installation of another heater... At some point thereafter, water from the fridge started pouring out onto the hardwood kitchen floor. Thank God we were in town when this happened and able to towel up the leakage for a few days until another heater could be installed. The entire bottom of the unit was frozen solid, and the floor boards immediately against the unit had warped.. Under duress, Viking paid for this repair. Finally, within the past year, the cooling of the refrigerator compartment ceased and we were without refrigeration for 4 or 5 days before -- you guessed it -- yet another heater could be installed (the cooling ducts had frozen). Additionally, we got a recall notice for the defective front door. The dealer who enthusiastically sold the Viking appliances to us stated in response to my expression of distress & disgust: Demand a replacement from Viking. Theyve had nothing but problems with those refrigerators (and dishwashers) -- they suck! I requested a replacement, without success... As for the dishwasher, while all the interior components had to be replaced and I must basically hand wash everything and use the unit for sterilization purposes only, at least its performed better than the refrigerator. Enough said!

We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. But so far, I love our Viking ranges quality. Weve been having an incredible cooking experience with it. Also, I like the look of it. It has clean lines.

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I dont have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasnt worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it. Its nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. Im disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

I sold all brands of appliances for 30 years, when I retired I bought a 30 in dual fuel Viking range. The way they are built, the customer service I got and my customers got over the years was by far the best in the industry. This belief paid off when after 5 years my range oven liner crazed. Because the liner could not be replaced or repaired Viking replaced my range with a New model at cost. Best Service Ever!

The store I went to had the Viking refrigerator at 18 months with no interest. But I had a horrible experience. They had a typical salesman who was just selling a product. But Im not very happy with the refrigerator. The door was bent a little and when I called the store for the warranty, they told me that I had to call Viking myself. A store should have a department to take care of the warranty for the product and not me calling 200 people to the warranty service. It was difficult. And the process that Viking had with their warranty made me feel like they didnt care about their customers. I called several times and they didnt know which companies in my area could take care of my appliance and they asked me to call the companies. I called several but they said they didnt work for Viking warranty. There was a lack of communication. If I’m a company and a customer that buys stuff in San Diego, Id know exactly which to call. It took several calls for me to get what I wanted. I had to wait for a company to come from LA, I live in San Diego, to come to my house to do my repairs. The tech showed up two weeks later. ut because he said there wasnt anything wrong with it, I had to fix the fridge myself. I work in the maintenance division.I will not buy another Viking in my life as I would have paid something cheaper with the same quality. I could have bought a GE or an Electrolux and I would have gotten the same result or better. Availability of parts is better too. I’m a reasonable person. If you spend about $14,000 on an appliance, they should treat you better. Right now, I try to order parts for my refrigerator because parts are not available. The appliance model number is also not in the system yet.

How can it be? We thought made in America, we would get great quality. What a disappointment. The kitchen was remodeled 5 years ago. This past month, we had problems with both Viking products, the Viking range VGIC3676BS and the refrigerator. We are now out of Viking warranty. The NSI insurance for these products is a nightmare to deal with - a waste of money. They give you the runaround. The Viking range oven just stopped working, we think it is the igniter. It does not matter that when you call Mississippi, they speak to you with their Southern charm, you still have an expensive appliance that simply does not work! No one cares, not at all, because it is not happening to them! The fact that we bought expensive products does not matter in todays world. Anyone recalls the days when we had an oven that lasted 30 years? We are so disgusted with Viking. We regret spending the money for something that obviously was made with planned obsolescence in mind. Wish there was a way we could warn people about this company. I would like to put signs on retailer stores, buyer beware.

This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Finally, after almost six months, we have a refrigerator that works. While the interior design of the Viking is better, their engineering is poor. I will suggest to the dealer, who was helpful, that he considers to stop recommending Viking refrigerators. I have no experience with other Viking products.

I purchased this Viking Electric Range 30 with Induction Cooktop in August 2014 as display model. I was told by the salesman that it had a full warranty. We also discussed with a Viking rep who was there setting up other models and he indicated the benefits of the range. In January the left burners quit working and there was a flash code for the burners. I called Viking to inquire about the warranty and found the unit was registered to another person who bought it 1 year earlier. I did not know it was pre-owned and would not have purchased it if it was. From the Viking customer service rep I learned it had a history of two repair calls including a replaced control board ($800.00 part cost). The code on the induction top indicated that it may be a generator board (there is one for each side) with a part cost of about $1200.00. They also indicated it was out of warranty. I have talked to the store, Viking techs, independent service tech and there has been no resolution to my issue. The code has changed since the initial event. Since there seems to be a need for a second module, is this a problem with this model or is this one a lemon. Viking did have a 5 year limited warranty on the induction top and modules in the past this but no longer true. I would like a resolution to this issue.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, when under warranty and had to throw all the foods in trash again. 2 months after the warranty expired it broke down again. The part not functioning was told is not necessary but then we had to pay $350.00 for some kind of repair that didnt make sense regarding the electrical was reversed. Worst product ever!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price. When you add the cost of spoiled foods, repair cost, and waiting and change of schedule for repair person to come and cost of refrigerators itself we are talking close to $20,000.00. Shame on Viking. The customer service not helpful either. It should be reported as crime, since the temperature never reach to what standard should be 35-38.

When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the ins
When the Viking refrigerator and the wine cooler were brought in by the installers, they damaged the handlebars and two of them had scratches. They hit the door entry area, too, so they damaged that as well and my contractor had to fix it for us. The two refrigerators were also not installed the way I wanted them to be installed and the doors were not in line with each other, so they were a bit off. Theres also a half an ounce of leak periodically occurring on the wine cooler side. The installers set the refrigerators in and put in the backing for them to be stabilized. They leveled it a bit and locked it into that 2x4 in the back. Then they left without installing the trim kit so my carpenter had to figure out how to put it in. The trim kit was for the refrigerator but we ended up installing it on the wine cooler side since that didn’t have a trim kit. Ben, from the Odmus Company, told me that I was supposed to use the trim kits for both sides, the refrigerator and the wine cooler, to make them look right and uniform. He said he would install them for me so I should get them. So I ordered another trim kit for the refrigerator but later, he said that there was supposed to be another kit for the refrigerator as well. This was never brought to my attention until months after I purchased the items, so I’m disappointed about that. I paid $1,000 for the installation and trim kits thinking that the installers would finish the job and do it correctly, but it wasn’t done so. I reported it to Viking and to the store manager, but I never received any calls from BestBuy about this issue. It’s been five months since I bought the refrigerators. BestBuy held on to them for me until I was ready for the installation, then they were installed in my house two months ago.I talked to someone from BestBuy last month and told them about my problems with the installation process. They got the original installer back to help me and they’re going to replace the handles, straighten out the doors for me and install the trim. But most of the work has been done already, so I dont see why I have to pay for the installation when the installers didn’t install anything. They just delivered the items and set them up. Other than that, I love the Viking refrigerator and the cooler, except for the leakage. They’re great refrigerators and I would recommend them to others. Since the installation process is the most difficult job, people have to make sure that Viking would do everything that they’re supposed to do and that they complete the job.

I got a whole kitchen package two years ago. Ive had some things break on them but every time Ive called, Ive had great customer service under the warranty in getting items replaced. So, its never been the issue. My husband and I put houses for a living and we decided to put Viking in one of our high end properties that we do. When we went to the International Builders Show, we stumbled upon the owner who was speaking at the first day to a group of people and were intrigued by his speech. So, we decided to solicit the package about trying to improve the quality of the product. Viking is comparable to Wolf but Wolf is still slightly ahead as far as quality. I have a 60-inch range, refrigerator, dishwasher and hood and theyre all Viking. I like the griddle in the range but I hate the indoor barbecue. I wish I had the double griddle. The model rvrf336ss5 has been known to have leaking issues and freezing issues in the chill drawers. It is a sleek and nice fridge in appearance but don’t be fooled.Viking will do support teams are essentially trained to do everything they can to not replace their faulty merchandise. After 9 service calls the service department said they still lacked sufficient information. Viking will send their own “approved” service department, who essentially are too scared to report the truth because Viking will pull their contracts. This isn’t an opinion rather what we were backhandedly told. I am a handicapped frontline medical worker who has now retired and my husband is a frontline medical worker. We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. We had problems with another appliance - and were treated pretty terribly as well. After much wrangling, we returned the device - and got our money back - but I can tell you... it wasnt easy!

Our 36 wide Professional 36 model Viking Range wouldnt hold the correct temperature and required six (yes 6) visits by the repairman to correct the problem. One might suspect that the repairman didnt know what they were doing, but its actually quite the contrary. They started the process by trying to eliminate the most commonly occurring problem(s) first, then moved on to the more complex issues. Bottom line, during the course of the multiple visits, the repairman said that it takes them an average of 4 to 6 visits to get Viking products working properly!!! (If I produced such an inferior product at my company Id have been out of business by now.) One big problem that still needs to be addressed is the obnoxiously noisy fan that Viking provided, to keep the oven cool enough to not melt the mother (control) board. Nothing like a roaring oven fan in the background when youre trying to have a quiet dinner conversation, eh? Personally, Id never buy OR recommend Viking to anyone, as the quality of their product is way beyond mediocre. Oh, almost forgot to talk about the problem were having with our Viking double door refrigerator, where when you close one door, the other pops open!!! Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.
