Unit kept freezing up. After 4+ service calls and after talking with a technician that knew his stuff, he told me unit has a design flaw. Does not have a good defrosting system, it totally relies on turning itself off for a period of time, where most good systems have the warm refrigerant gas reverse through the system to defrost.

Weve had problems with every single appliance that weve purchased from Viking. The refrigerator has been making a weird noise. We had the guy come today to look at the noise and he couldnt figure it out. On the stove, two of the back burners would only light up partially and they take 10 seconds to fully light up. The guy looked at that too and cleaned some stuff up. The back burners are working a little bit faster but theyre still on the slow side. When we got our dishwasher, the motherboard was broken and we had to have a brand new one because when we turned it on, it would continuously run. The timer would not count down regardless of what cycle we put it on. Im not fully happy because of all the problems weve been having. But the problems have been addressed and looked at. Im a little worried that the two-year warranty isnt going to cover everything because of what weve already experienced.

Bought Viking double oven, cooktop and dishwasher March, 2018. After opening the items, the oven and the dishwasher were damaged. They were heavily damaged with dents so deep that there were holes. After weeks of complaints, numerous talk with customer service rep, I am still nowhere. About a month ago, I was finally granted a replacement for both of them. (Even though the entire time, so, the last 4 months I was told that the parts are arriving). Now, today, Sept, 5, I decided to call and make an official complaint against Viking dept handling my case. A person called TONY, said he could help. After he realized that I want to file a complaint, he started avoiding the issue. I asked for a supervisor and these were his answers: none is available, they are all in a meeting. I could hear laughter in the background. He started mocking me as well. I asked for an email of any supervisor and he said that he is not authorized to give out their emails!!! I still cannot believe the disrespect shown towards a customer. Complete lack of professionalism as well. If I had known that this is going to happen, I would have never bought Viking. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING VIKING RANGE.

My sister had a Viking Refrigerator and I also chose them because my LG broke and I wanted a counter depth refrigerator, basically with the luxury of a high-end refrigerator, but not having a built-in. A built-in will run you $10,000 to $12,000, so I thought it was a good idea to go with the name Viking. It really fits my kitchen as well. The price was on point and I didn’t consider anything else because of it. The quality of the refrigerator is good, so far. It seems to keep my food a lot fresher than my LG did. However, the refrigerator door doesn’t stay all the way down in that lift. It also makes ice so fast that when you pull the door open, ice cubes fall out. It’s not a defect and it’s not such a bad thing, but its not perfect. Nevertheless, I like the handle of the refrigerator because it matches our Wolf oven. Im all about the look and I would tell others to definitely go for Viking Refrigerators. I would also tell them that I could actually go to Costco with the comfort of knowing my food is going to last.

I had an existing Viking refrigerator in our home and it went out. I replaced it with a Viking too but it’s not as near the quality of my original one. The exterior is not even metal. It cant even hold a magnet so its a stainless steel look but its not. The original was sturdier and the inside shelves were more metal. This one seems to be plastic. The freezer part is a lot of plastic. It doesnt have the durability of my old one. Its a cheaper made Viking although I like the sleek look of it.

Weve seen Viking Range in model kitchens and we decided to purchase from them because of the reputation of the range and its looks. We got the range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, range hood. We ordered them online from Elite Appliance three years ago. We had them shipped to us, and then the contractor installed them. The range and the hood are great. Thats what theyre known for. Its sturdy, cooks really well and really fast. Also, the microwave has been fine, but the hinges on the inner compartments of the fridge broke, but it was just okay and Im still happy with it. However, the dishwasher is probably the only thing that I wouldnt buy again. It had a hose issue, so we had it looked at once. Other than that, we really love the range. It has been awesome and I would definitely buy one of those again.

We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

We built a new home 14 months ago and had Viking appliances put in it. But my Viking range has been broken for 12 of those 14 months. The repair guy would fix one thing and then something else would go bad or he would uncover something else that was already bad. They were out four times before somebody said, We dont ever do this, but we need to replace the range. So, I ended up getting an entirely new range. But theres not been one day that it hasnt been broken and a ticket was open. Also, if I make a call, it takes at least three weeks to get a response and somebody to work on it. At one point, I waited six weeks to get somebody to come. Thats not acceptable. Also, they are are saying, This part is stuck at.... I am so tired of all these ships because of COVID that are stuck in some foreign space station somewhere that nobody knows exists. But the product has been good once they give me the one thats working. I would buy Viking again because of the product. It was the follow-up that I have a problem with. A high-end company did a very big disservice to a good product because of how they acted post-failure.

I liked the quality of the Viking Range that I have observed at a family member’s house. I spent about two hours in the store and we finally landed on a product that I liked. However, I was really dissatisfied when the installer came to put the Viking Range in. They charged me $200 for the install, which I don’t remember having that conversation with my salesperson. I paid $50 to have them install the dishwasher so I thought I had paid for all of my installation fees already when I purchased the equipment. I paid them the $200 because my beef was not with them. My beef was with Famous Tate, who sold this stuff. I then brought my concerns to them. After some back and forth, and then realizing that I was not going to accept their answer, they finally gave me a credit of $200 on the purchase, which completely satisfied me. We also have a slight issue with our oven, where the door does not always close or shut off the lights. It is not pressing that little button that turns the light on and off. I have reminded my wife to call Famous Tate about it.

However, we called out the local retailer as the flame seemed to do a lot of fluttering and we didnt know why. Thats a little bit of a bother to us and theyre coming out this week. We think itll be just an adjustment, but right now, its kinda come down.

They said that they would send a tech out right away but we were like, Nope. We went back to Nebraska Furniture Mart and had them order a new one. Where I live, I dont have natural gas and there were very few of the electric ranges that had the counter drop-in look, and that drew me to Viking. And then, the handles and everything about the refrigerator matched it. The Viking team was great and were there to help. The refrigerator is fine. Im enjoying the French doors and not having an outside ice maker. When the door to the freezer had been left ajar and there was ice that built up on the side, I had a nice repairman come. Apparently, some of the ice got in but some of the ice got in a slide and I couldnt move the tray and I was afraid to force it. The young and friendly man fixed it and I was very pleased.

My experience has been horrible. I planned and did everything right. I wanted to make sure I researched. I wanted to support the country too. What I was thinking was either Miele or Viking. Miele was made by Germany while Viking was made in the US. Ive built my house and everything we use is made in the USA. Pacific Sales told me to go with a Viking. I asked how was their service and they said everything is perfect. When we called them, they said it would take longer. It was about closer to Thanksgiving time. They said it takes about eight weeks to build it. Somehow, somewhere, somebody called me one day and said they had one Viking unit sitting in the warehouse. I asked if it was a return unit and the guy said no. They brought it to the house and installed it. After a couple of months, we smelled gas. I called the gas company and they detected the whole house and found out it was the unit which was leaking the gas so they shut it off. When you turn the oven on, youll hear a tick, tick, tick but it will not ignite. Then it will fill up the whole house with gas smell. When I called the service company, I told them, “The gas company canceled my gas. Can you send somebody so they can fix it? The lady said, Oh, we have until next week. When we told the gas company we smelled gas, they showed up within an hour because it was urgent. The guy opened the whole unit and found out that the end of the gas igniter and all the electrical were exposed. It was sparking at the back of it instead of the front. He said it could cause an explosion so he unhooked it and said I could not use it until they replaced it. They came over and changed it but again, it started the other side. At that moment, I called Pacific Sales. I told them I bought this thing for safety. I have young children. It made me uncomfortable to use this unit. I didnt want it anymore. If they could replace it, that would be great. I didnt wanna keep calling somebody. What I found out was that the best interest of the companies that they use for repairs is to come back because every time they come back, theyre charging Viking service fee. Theyre the one who can make the decision whether things could be repaired or whether things could be exchanged and they always say it will not be exchanged it but it will be repaired. They came back again and this time, the grill was not fitting. The guy bent the pipe. I said, Isnt this pipe engineered and shouldnt have bent like the way youve done? He said it was okay. Theyre supposed to quality check before they ship it. It should have been tested if it closed perfectly. So I called called Pacific Sale back. They kept giving me the runaround. The other day, I called them and said, Every time you do it, the same thing keeps going. Im tired of somebody coming to my house and doing this thing.” They said they were not gonna change. They were gonna send another third party company to look at it if I wanted that but they were not gonna replace it. The griller doesnt work. You turn it on and wait. One day it works, one day it doesnt. They said somebody will contact me within 24 to 48 hours but they never contacted me. The other day, I told the lady, You know me. I talked to you many times, right? She said, Yeah, yeah, Mr. **. I talked to you. Now, I actually have a report for you. My boss told me no, were not gonna do it. I asked if he could call call me but she told me he doesnt call. Im discussing with my attorney what are my options are. Its not right. My familys safety is important. I regret it ever buying this unit. I wish I never dealt with them. I spent closer to $60,000 for that purchase. Viking hood and Viking range are the two things I bought. The rest of it was Sub-Zero and Miele and I have no issue with those equipment.

Ive always known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time and it was in the house that we purchased. There was a Viking Range, a Viking refrigerator, and a stove then. I was replacing an existing Viking refrigerator that was about 17 or 18 years old. It was built-in so I was looking for something that would fit into the exact space where it was. And when I went to the appliance store, the salesperson at the appliance store steered me to Viking. I was buying a refrigerator and a dryer that day and he showed me something else but he strongly suggested the Viking and since I didn’t have any negative feelings about Viking, I went with it. This refrigerator will be the third refrigerator and the first one kept having problems. It would freeze up and the icemaker wouldn’t work. The refrigerator section would heat up to about 43 degrees and the freezer would get down incredibly cold. I had six service calls on it and finally, the service guy said, “I think we need to get this thing replaced.” So Viking replaced it after several weeks and sent a new one out to Asien’s Appliance here in Santa Rosa and they delivered it. However, the guys that delivered it couldn’t align the doors properly. The refrigerator section was about half inch or a bit lower. The door was lower than the freezer side so I called the people that handle the warranty repairs again and the guy came out and looked at it. He said that there was something wrong with it and maybe it was dropped. He couldn’t fix it and jury-rigged it so the door worked. For a while, the door wouldn’t even close but then he worked on it again and he got the door to close by taking some part out. I got word that Viking set up a delivery of a replacement for that one. This will be the third one and hopefully, it will be okay. I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend but at least Viking is faithfully standing by their warranty.

In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.

The sales part was absolutely a pleasure. I bought the Viking appliances at a great store which has all the high-end stuff. For some reason, I picked Viking because I have heard of it in the past. I didnt know any of the other names but I looked at everything. I liked the oven probably because my wife is short and the way the door opened and the way she could access the oven was probably the only oven that was like that. So, we purchased it. We knew that Viking was a good name, which was why we purchased all the rest of the appliances to match. Every appliance in my kitchen is Viking and I’m very unhappy that every piece came with some kind of damage. The refrigerator door never opened correctly and the cooktop has a little blemish on the front of it in the face panel. But I have no problems with the top and bottom oven. Thats been great. The refrigerator was less than a year old and it has been having a problem with the LED lighting. They have been going out so I called for service. They sent somebody who came completely unprofessional and scratched the inside of my refrigerator with a pick trying to get the light out. The whole inside of the refrigerator is powder-coated and it is not replaceable. The service guy spent two hours there and never fixed it. I called complaining that he made a mess out of my refrigerator. He said that with everything thats going on in the world, there are worse problems in life than a scratch inside my refrigerator. This is a $12,000 refrigerator. After about two months later, he finally came and replaced the burnt-out LED lights that were in it and he touched up the scratch.

Our Viking 48 two door refrigerator: After two years it stopped working; drawers, shelves, plastic trim, refrigerator side door interior panels cracking, and both door seals in desperate need of replacement. After reading so many complaints about Viking appliances we just decided to wait and get more familiar with this expensive brand. In the mean time we went to Lowes and got a Samsung as a spare. Not sure on how to proceed, the Viking refrigerator was turned off and unplugged for three years. After the three years, we called Viking; Viking replaced the compressor, but we had to pay for all the expensive labor and all the other expensive replacement parts including the ice maker and both door seals. The refrigerator interior door panel is expensive and not worth of replacement. The refrigerator started to leak right after it was serviced from the freezer every time the freezer defrosts. Our 48 Viking Freestanding Gas Range: The knobs on the front of the range get very hot when using the ovens. The lettering and markings on the range disappeared. Oven doors dont close correctly. After three years, we started to smell gas coming from both ovens when in use. The ovens would not heat up properly, had to replace all three oven igniters. The large oven door/hinges stuck and we could not get the door to open or close, had all door hinges replaced on both doors. As a contractor, I find it amazing that I keep seeing Viking Appliances in multimillion dollar homes. My best guess is that these Viking appliances are there for appearance purposes only. Viking Appliance is the worst brand. Viking appliances are only worth the metal that they are made of. DO NOT even look at a Viking Appliance. I encourage all owners of any Viking appliance to be truthful and help the next victim that maybe looking to buy the Viking brand.

Viking replaced microwave instead of trying to fix it. It took about a month to get replacement. I received a call at 445 that installer was Enroute and should be here by 6pm same day.Last night I got the 3rd otr microwave, in 3 years. Mentioned that updraft exhaust was not good, microwave #1 had excellent exhaust (updraft). Was told by installer that these don’t really operate that well. Probably the most honest thing I’ve heard. I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

We got a nice Viking oven and my wife wanted a Viking fridge next to it. Ive had many fridges in my life. But with this fridge, they’re coming out the sixth time to try to repair it and they’re kind of slow to get it. I threw out two batches of food. I had ruined my cabinet and my floor since it leaked water all over it. I have asked Viking if they can fix that or if I have to pay for myself. The whole kitchen is brand new. This fridge came in a year ago with the whole brand new kitchen, new floors and new cabinets. I have never had a product this bad in my life. I thought I would be paying for quality but either I got really unlucky or something else is wrong.

After I bought Viking appliances, Ive been having problems, and the products are less than two years old. In the first year, we had a problem with the dishwasher. Something went wrong. But they came out and fixed it. Then we had a problem with the refrigerator. The heater for the ice maker didnt work, so there was water pooling at the bottom and then flat out. They came and they changed the heater one time. Then a week later, the same thing, water was coming out again. They said there was some piece over there that was missing. I was disappointed. A $10,000 refrigerator, and within two years, we have problems. For products like these, it should have a longer warranty than one year. But I like it. It has all the features that I need. Its a stainless steel finish but it has a scratch. Theres a stainless steel repair kit that I have to get to polish it back to before.

We had a Viking Range installed in 2006 and weve never really been happy with it. The temperature control in the oven stopped working. So, we went to our local appliance store and looked for alternatives but then our appliance store operator, B&B Appliance in Escondido, told us that Viking is much better now. We really liked how Viking fit our needs. We wound up getting fooled twice. When our new Viking Range was delivered, we turned the convection fan on and it was rattling against the grill as it was badly installed. Thus far, temperature control of the oven has been absolute crap. Weve done two big cooks on it, a turkey and a roast. After about an hour, the oven temperature seems to have dropped by 100 degrees. Also, we turned on the range burners the first time we used it and those cracked off showing us rust. While its running, it makes a clank as the temperature goes up, sounding like a contraction or expansion of steel. Additionally, the convection fan switch on the front panel failed. We had another tech come out and put another switch in and that failed within an hour while the tech was still here. This Viking has cost me a fortune.

We wanted to have a nice Viking refrigerator as we thought it would be better than its competitors. I like the idea that when you open the door, it has the temperature and all of those little controls. The first thing we didn’t like about it was that it didn’t have a water dispenser on the inside or the outside but that hasn’t proven to be a big problem. Another issue is that when the ice falls into the bin, it’s pretty loud. My wife has more issues with it. One time there was some kind of leak and all the ice melted together. We had a nice relationship with the dealer except that when we got the refrigerator and found out there was no water dispenser, we called them and he never called us back. After a while, we just got used to it and I was disappointed in that. He was a good friend when we were buying from him but after we bought it, he didn’t wanna be bothered. But overall, we’re happy with the refrigerator and we don’t have any big deals about it.

I spend nearly $12,000 in a complete new Viking set (Range, Fridge, Dishwasher and hood). In less than 2 years the technician has come to my house 3 times. The oven didnt self regulate and eventually the thermostat had to be replaced. The digital display on the dishwasher looks like it is in Japanese and the freezer drawer in the fridge needs to be adjusted every 2 weeks. It is a weekend home so you can imagine how much use it got since it was installed. I am being told that all labor is on me. Their customer support was courteous, but denied point black any responsibility. If you buy it, is just for the looks. The quality is certainly not there! And they should not announce themselves as a premium or high quality brand.

We have a relatively new Viking wall oven that smokes terribly. We have used self-cleaning and then wiped out the residue, and it smokes terribly on the next use. Were not talking cooking odor; we get smoke so thick and fast that our fire alarm (not just smoke alarms) goes off and we are called by the monitoring company. Weve had Miele wall ovens in other houses with none of this trouble at all. The Viking is poorly designed in some manner. Maybe it greatly overheats, but there is no way to tell because there is no temperature gauge and no reliable indication (other than a flaky and useless light) that the oven is maintaining the set temperature. Unless Viking can fix or replace this terrible appliance, we are going to get rid of it and never buy Viking again.

We started the renovation in July and since we’re doing everything ourselves, it took a lot of work to get everything ready and the people from the dealership were very patient with us. When we were ready, they brought the different things that we needed when we needed them as opposed to everything at once. It worked out very nicely. So far, I haven’t had much time to do a whole lot of stuff with our Viking. I’m still getting used to it. I look at it and I’m thrilled. I like to bake and cook and I’m just waiting to get the time to try out different things with it. I like that the shelves are easy to move around. It helps out a lot. Also, they gave a lot of instructions on how to set things up inside the oven to make sure I can cook more than one thing at a time.

I bought a Viking dishwasher in 11/2009. A year and a half into owning this, the racks rusted and dishwasher needed some major service. Four years into ownership, racks rusted again and the control panel had to be replaced because the dishwasher would not run past 5-10 minutes and would blink fill error according to service person. This happened on Christmas morning with a house full of company. Then in 3/2013, the drain pump failed. Part was ordered. The service person had to pull dishwasher out of its space and then realized it would take at least 3 hours to repair, costing upwards of $300. We had already spent that much in previous repairs. So a $2,000 dishwasher less than 5 years old is going to the junk pile! Also, I contacted Viking customer service with no response from them to provide an explanation or help! Unacceptable from a supposedly big name quality product supplier! Quality rating is zero!

I wouldnt recommend Viking Ranges. We got it because of the brand reputation and the style. However, we have an oven that takes about 45 to 50 minutes to preheat to 350. We called Viking Ranges and they told us who to call. Then when we called the people out here in Los Angeles who are the authorized service reps, the rep thought it was normal. The second time we called was when the rep was really informative and checked with the service tech. She confirmed that it is normal to take that long for the oven to preheat. I went right to the stores. I wish someone would confirm that sounds too long. It seems like there would be way too many complaints to get away with that. We rarely use it but aside from the oven, the range also has a range top which is great.

My husband bought the Viking dishwasher and he wanted a matching appliance. We did the purchasing through ABT and they’re great. We think that Viking is a good brand and it looks nice. We got the French doors and set it side by side, like our old KitchenAid which was there when we bought the house. Our Viking refrigerator is fine, but the clips that hold down the racks in the freezer keep coming off from day one when we havent had it for very long, six months at most. ABT came out last week but they never did anything about the clips. So I told my husband to make sure to ask them about it when they come back out. We’ve called ABT to have that corrected. Were waiting for them to call back.Theres also one minor thing. Most refrigerators have feet you can adjust if it needs to go up or down an inch. Viking doesnt have that. We have a two-inch gap at the top of the refrigerator, between the old cabinets and refrigerator. They were able to adjust the KitchenAid to go up to it and with the Viking, you can’t. But I liked the style of the French doors and those big shelves and big, perfect trays.

We just signed the bottom line and the range got picked up when we needed it to. Im not a professional chef, but with the Viking Range, it looks like Im in a professional kitchen. In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. In short my recommendation to all Americans is dont buy Viking, it is a very bad company with a big line of bad products and bad customer service. Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. The house that I have has a Viking stove. I thought I should get a Viking refrigerator to have a matching brand name. However, this is the worst purchase experience I have ever had in my life. The refrigerator itself is quite heavy. I oversaw the unloading and the product being brought into my house. The man unpacked it, set it up, and the door would not stay closed. He tried a number of times. I asked the installer to report the issue to Best Buy where I bought my product. He did then I made a follow-up call. They told me they were sending a second Viking refrigerator. Both refrigerators were unpacked here in front of me. I have no doubt that they were brand-new products. The second refrigerator was not cooling. I went in-person this time and asked to speak to the store manager. I had to wait some minutes and thats understandable with all of the horrible problems with this Coronavirus stuff. I told him the refrigerator was not cooling. He sent down someone and again, nothing. I almost wanted to ask him to please bring back my JennAir which was perfectly fine but it was old. He said he was not gonna send another refrigerator. He is the rudest human being I have ever dealt with. I looked up an appliance service center and I ought not to be having to do that on a brand-new, very pricey refrigerator at over $11,000. I dont buy cheap because I want to buy good. The issue was there was not enough refrigerant which was a fairly easy issue to resolve. But I had to call an appliance repair person myself and I had to pay money myself on a brand new refrigerator. I wont ever recommended a Viking refrigerator. Im more than very dissatisfied. The refrigerator was not working for over two weeks (totally dead - no cooling in the freezer and the main refrigerator compartment) while Viking and its local repair service went back and forth on resolving the subject. It was quickly apparent that Viking keeps an arms length distance from such issues. Also apparent is that the local repair does not keep Viking parts in their inventory for repair purposes. Repairman said the refrigerator was shipped from the factory with improper soldering of tubes. After several visits and re-soldering of tubes, the refrigerator again worked. However the repairman said if unit stops working again that is could no longer be repaired - in other words, a dead inoperable appliance. Top dollar was paid for an appliance which at the end of the day was of shoddy quality, and not properly addressed by Viking under its own warranty. Inexcusable.

Ive known about Viking for years and they have always been a commercial line. My wife and I have always enjoyed cooking. We thought we would take a step up in quality so we got one. We are enjoying the Viking range. We had a different range for a few weeks but we decided to have a cast plate into our house. So I did that first then, I ordered the Viking range from the retailer inside Best Buy. We bought the 30 inch, which is the smallest one that Viking makes but it makes a heck of a difference in cooking. However, I wish we would have a larger space. We wanted to widen the kitchen, take some cabinets down and put in either 38 or the 42 but we just couldnt scrape up enough pennies because Viking is not a cheap stove. We also got the combination which we like because the oven is larger to do the cooking. The oven is electric and the top is gas so its really nice because the oven is all hidden and sealed. I also love the idea of the quick heating. It has the solid, medium and the consistent heating where you just set it and its awesome. Unlike when it’s electric, the heat is always coming off and on in order to maintain a certain temperature. Were really happy with the Viking range. We love the feature of the sealed burners as well. Its so easy to clean. The stainless steel takes fingerprints that bad but with just a couple of wipes, its all cleaned up. Viking range is beautiful but it’s not for someone who doesn’t cook that often or not a good cook. It’s an overbuy for them. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the enthusiasm that my wife and I have when it comes to cooking. We really appreciate it and we love it. Its worth every penny.

The local guy from East River Appliance Repair was completely clueless and had really no value. I was ready to return the thing and I was really unhappy with it. But Viking was willing to bring a guy four hours from Denver up to Crested Butte, Colorado and fix a problem that the local guy was clueless about. The guy up from Denver was a real pro. He knew what he was doing and fixed everything. He said that the door was not primarily damaged and it could be adjusted. He saved the day for Viking. I thought the range was a defective unit and this guy was able to correct everything and showed that it wasnt defective. I’m pretty happy with the customer service I got.

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

I like the look of the stove that I got from them. I also like its quality, which is great. There’s no comparison between my Viking oven and the one that I had in the past, as Ive never had anything of this quality before. The sturdiness of the range is my favorite feature. In addition, the burners are all very accurate and I like the way they burn. I would tell friends to go ahead and buy a Viking range.

All I can say is that I wish I had read these other reviews before buying our very disappointing Viking D3 Electric Range!!! It hasnt cooked right since the day we got it. Being on a special medical diet, I need to have all 3 of my meals cooked along with what I need to cook for my family. So, needless to say, my range gets a good work out. Thought I was buying a high end brand to fit my needs. Unfortunately, the oven does not cook to the proper temperature & takes forever to cook anything. 1 1/2 hours to cook thin chicken cutlets, almost 2 hours to bake a blueberry loaf that ended up being still uncooked in the middle & all the blueberries sunk to the bottom. The best was some birthday cupcakes I baked on the convect cycle which got over cooked on the outside & not done on the inside & actually exploded part of the tops off. Im going to try & include a photo if I can. All I can tell people who are looking to buy a range, DONT BUY VIKING!!!!! I wish I never bought one.

Id heard of Vikings reputation and I went with them for the rebates. I’m having a problem with their microwave as the tape over the keypad is bubbling. I contacted Viking and they referred me to another company to come fix it. I was in contact with that company twice and they said, “Can you send us pictures of it so we know what our repairman is looking at?” And I did, but it’s been close to two weeks and I haven’t heard back from them. Nonetheless, Im very happy with the range. I like how the burners are raised, so it makes it easier to clean. It’s expensive, but if you’re going to really indulge in cooking and you want longevity, then it’s worth it.

Viking Refrigerator DDSB548SS - Bought the refrigerator on 2012. I live alone and am very careful with my things. All is working well except for the door shelves. These are made from plastic with a glass at front. Two months after the fridge was installed, the plastic on the door shelves started to crack and disintegrated into very small pieces. All broke within a year; theres four shelves in total. All are broken and cost about $250 a piece.

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.

We were doing a remodel and we wanted something a little higher end. We bought our Viking refrigerator at Best Buy as we had a significant number of credit card reward points and we went with the Best Buy cards. We bought it before our remodel and we didn’t take it out of the storage until around early spring in 2018. We had significant problems with it over the summer and we had the technician out at least seven times. It was still under warranty at the time and what was happening was the refrigerator side of it would never be at the set point. Oftentimes, it was at 45. The tech was out to try different things and replace the electrical panels. By the last time, they ended up replacing the entire electrical panel and it has been okay since then. It still is not perfect though, and it seems to be hit or miss. If the set point is supposed to be at 38, it struggles to get a 38 on the refrigerator side. I like the refrigerator, nevertheless. It is prominent and it sits really well in our kitchen. At the same time, we were forced with the contractor company because they are the ones who handle the warranty. As long as it is under warranty, we have to go with them. We would wait for a significant period of time for the parts to come in and it got to be a really long, laborious process. The guy with the refrigeration company would complain that there were changes going on at Viking, where the warehouses were, and it was hard to get parts. It was frustrating when we had already invested on a Viking refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and range. I couldn’t just call Viking and say, “Look, replace this thing,” because we had to go with a particular company to do the repair. This issue started in May or early June and we were still dealing with it by the end of July. On one hand, there are things about the Viking refrigerator that I really like. I like the way it looks in my kitchen, and the freezer is working fine. On the other hand, the refrigerator and the whole repair and problem-solving process seem really cumbersome. Why did it take three months to resolve? I am dissatisfied with that.

I was looking at the features, design, haptic feedback, meaning how things slide, the soft close of the drawers, and layout. One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. I just dont like the gasket sealant. Im getting some frost where the gasket is peeling off the door. I havent had the opportunity to call Viking yet to ask them if they can fix it.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

I bought my first Viking in 2004 with my inheritance from my grandmother. I always dreamed of having a professional kitchen. I purchased all Thermador except for my Fridge. I have a Viking 36inch drawer freezer on bottom. Never ending recalls and issues then I purchased a new one from the company on a recall. The man showed up with the new unit and fixed the recall on the recalled unit. Well, that was in 2011, it is now 2017 and guess what? I am in the same shape as I was before. However, no deal. I have fallen on pretty much deaf ears. You can even YouTube funny skits about it, but the techs will look at you like you are the only person in the world. I have a mental block on that beeping noise when the compressor goes out and I am about to lose all my food. Good news though, I just found out they are indeed suppose to defrost themselves. So, if you are a gambler, like taking chances... maybe just maybe you will be lucky enough not to deal with what I have. Cheers!Updated on [05/06/2018]: I wanted to follow up with all the promises that were made to me. Well, that just did not work out so now I have a trusty 159.00 freezer from Sams Wholesale Club and my ice cream is now frozen. I found out that well they had also replaced the parts they replaced while I was ill for a pretty penny and they are still claiming no fault. However, my Thermador products are working like a charm and I will be investing in their products. Please learn from my experience... when you buy expensive products make sure the quality and customer support is behind you. I have no problem paying... but don’t give me Magic Chief with a Viking name on it. Not to mention treat me like a human being. I work hard for my money. I’m sure even Viking would not tolerate what they do to their clients.

This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. We purchased an expensive free standing gas range, model VGCC530-4BSS, because we were tired of having to fix our old electric range. From day one the front knobs got hot when the oven was on for a long period of time. We never really thought too much of it until just recently when the oven would quit working after being on for a while, for example, when cooking a turkey etc. Through my own investigation, along with limited help from Viking I figured out that the oven door doesnt seal at the top. There isnt an adjustment to rectify this problem. Viking suggested new hinges, at the bargain price of $120 each, which I fail to see making any difference as this has been an issue from day one. Not to mention I removed the door, inspected the hinges and could not find anything wrong with them. I strongly feel that the only solution to this problem is to buy a new stove, one that doesnt have the Viking label on the front. This will be our first and last Viking product EVER!

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator thinking that the product would be great. I have owned Viking grills and loved them, the quality was amazing and they lasted! I was wrong. The refrigerator is so loud, it hisses, seems to continuously run and makes a banging noise when it is running, rarely shuts down and when it does shut down (for 5 minutes) it makes such loud popping noises you would think a car is backfiring. I tried to return it to the appliance store but they told me it was a special order fridge and cannot be returned. I am so disappointed and feel like the $3250.00 plus tax that I paid was thrown out the window! He also said that there was damage on the inside of it. He has replaced it and the fridge has been working fine since. Then we also got the dishwasher and the steam oven just because everything needed to match for my husband. We’ve had them for a couple of months and so far they’ve been good. We like the refrigerators different controls and the compartments. The only thing that would be of benefit to us is having the water in it. But otherwise, we’re extremely happy and satisfied with Viking.

We bought a bunch of brand new appliances, and Ive had an issue with just about everything not quite working the way its supposed to. But weve had to get service and got the warranty worked on about every piece of equipment that we purchased. With the refrigerator, the freezer was frosting up. It had something to do with the heating unit or defrosting unit of the freezer. They replaced it and now its working. We love the Viking refrigerator. Its nice, big and awesome.

I was remodeling a kitchen in my new house and I wanted a Viking Range. I liked the layout of the burner grills and the automatic start. Also, the size of the oven was larger than most and the underneath part of the burner stays enclosed. I was able to get it in the burgundy color that I really liked for the kitchen. I really liked the power of the burners that I have, too. The team at Viking has been good. There was a delay in the manufacturing, and they let me know about it right away and when to expect the items so it all went very smoothly. I got a free Viking dishwasher with the range and the wall oven but Im not as happy with the dishwasher as I would like to be.

After 20 years in our home, we finally were able to build my dream kitchen
After 20 years in our home, we finally were able to build my dream kitchen with Viking Professional appliances. Weve had multiple problems with the oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Both sides of the oven have broken and the igniters break from time-to-time, too. The repairman told me I wasnt turning it on properly. What? After calling him back several times, Viking finally agreed to replace it. The repairman tells me not to get the igniters wet. Ok, I got it. I dont do it. Its not me! The ice maker in the freezer is horrible. The water line freezes all the time. Weve replaced the ice maker, added something to the unit to keep the water circulating, and not the water overfills. What a freaking mess it makes. The dishwasher is the worst ever made. It may or may not turn off. The repairman says to open it and let it dry out. Ok, but that doesnt work either. I wont even use it anymore. Viking Professional is terrible and has ruined my dream kitchen. :(

I have an AMAZING new kitchen so I wanted top of the line appliances to go in it. I purchased a Viking double wall oven and it was installed 1/2011. Since that time, the Control Board has been replaced TWICE BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. It has gone bad AGAIN and it is going to cost over $1000 to repair. I called Viking and they will do nothing about it, even considering the history. I am very disappointed in this product.
