We purchased a Dacor wall oven to replace a GE oven that was outdated. We thought we were getting a premium appliance, but after less than a year and just before the holidays it quit with a code on the control panel we couldnt find in the owners manual. We had a serviceman out and the cost of the part and the service call was more than we paid for the oven! It now sits there, useless and a reminder to never buy Dacor anything!

Friendly Customer Service Reps do nothing to solve this issue. The oven door is designed not to be repairable or user friendly. Poor support and steady excuses have created another DIS-SATISFIED CUSTOMER!! AVOID DACOR!!

My Dacor wall oven does not heat. It is 6 years old and barely used. The technician is waiting for Dacor to get back to them to fix the problem. The technician has done everything they can and it has been four months and Dacor is not responding to fix the issue as its a Dacor problem not a technician problem. (Its a control interface issue, the relay board communicating with machine is not working properly.) I have done my own investigation and they do not reply to customer service e-mails, there is no phone number to talk to someone who could help, just a receptionist who says after 7 years we dont fix Dacor. Again, my oven is 6 years old. I would not purchase this high end product or any product from Dacor ever again.

I purchased a 30 Dacor dual fuel range and matching hood in 2004. I paid $4009 for the range and $948 for the hood. The range and hood have been nothing but problems. I wrote to Dacor in April 2009 detailing the problems with the range with service history dating back to 2006. Problems include overheating when cleaning which is a safety risk, replacement of cooling fan, ignitor assay, part # 92309 membrane, and replacement of relay board in 2007, 2009 and again December of 2011. I attempted to purchase a Dacor extended service agreement in January 2009 but was declined due to the ranges past history and its age. I recently found this site which indicates that other consumers have had similar problems with Dacor products. Dacor has lost me as a customer as I will never buy another Dacor product! I have been disappointed and frustrated with their lack of response and support. I finally purchased a GE service contract which has helped absorb some of the cost of ongoing repairs. The overhead lighting has long since gone out in the hood. I was told the hood needs to be disassembled to replace the lights. Dacor should step up and support its products. When most people put out $4000 for a range, they expect to get a quality product that will last 15-20 years. With Dacor, this has definitely not been the case!

We remodeled our kitchen less than 5 years ago. As we have owned restaurants in the past, we wanted commercial quality appliances. I was looking at Sub-Zero and Viking or Wolf. Unfortunately I took my Home Center convince me to purchase A Dacor package. That was a mistake. Even though these appliances cost as much as the those brands, the quality is not even close. After spending $22,000 on appliances I have quickly discovered that these appliances are junk. First the microwave began to arc and nearly caught fire. Even when they installed my cooktop. I noticed that the burners in the middle were marked incorrectly and the blue LED indicating the burners are on was burnt out. After only a few years, now my ovens are not working. And right before Thanksgiving I am without ovens. My old ovens were almost 50 years old and worked fine. These $6000 plus ovens are not even 5 years old and are down. I am kicking myself for not going with my original plan. If you are considering Dacor, I would not recommend.

We purchased a Dacor gas range in 2005 for $2000. In a short time the plastic trim around the knobs cracked, and the glass in the oven door had not maintained its seal. I contacted Dacor several times and was told to take a picture and send it to them, then they could decide a course of action. The course of action was that I would pay for materials and labor. I decided not to do that, and eventually I will replace the range with another brand, never a Dacor!

Dacor Worst Oven Ever. Major kitchen remodel in 2005. Designer recommended Dacor for great styling and the fact that it was a 36 inch oven. Before the kitchen was even finished the control panel had to be replaced. Since 2005 our local repair shop has had to replace the circuit board 9 times. Same issue every time with not heating and board found every time to be burned out! Dacor replaced the first few boards free but we had to cover the labor. To date more than 5,000 in repairs. Dacor would not replace the oven and had terrible customer service. Its down for the 12th time and its headed to the junkyard this time. I cant see spending another dime on this lemon. Dont ever buy a Dacor!

We remodeled our home and purchased Dacor appliances for our kitchen. Range, love it, Microwave, 30 Double oven and warming drawer (promotional give away). The ovens from the beginning do not function well. To warm up the ovens I have to wait 45-50 minutes and it buzzes. It is at temperature but then when I look at thermometer we are close to 75 degrees below. It recycles temperature every 75 degrees too. We had many repairs to the original unit to the point the repair person recommended that Dacor replace the unit. They did, another disaster. First they dropped the old unit while removing it chipping my granite, destroying my drawer panel and then left an absolute mess. The second unit has the same warm up issues, holding temperatures and oh wait, fans ran for hours after they were turned off. Broiling amazing. Baking and convection, a joke. The last repair person told me to open the oven and turn the cookies to have them cook evenly. And do the same when cooking with Convection. :/ I am currently looking for a reliable double oven that I can use and feel good about the food I serve (to be cooked). Dacor basically said that they cannot help me anymore because we went out of warranty last year and sent a repair person to basically say it is acceptable. Obviously for someone who does not cook, just sayin.

We did a complete kitchen remodel 2 years ago. My husband talked me into purchasing american made over the Bosch products that I preferred. This has been a horrible experience. The dishwasher does not clean. I was told to prime the water and purchase the higher end platinum packs. That did not work, then it was add lemi shine. That has not worked. The water never completely drains, ugh old water. A service tech could not tell me where the rinse aid indicator light was and insisted mine did not come with one! Microwave does not heat in an adequate time. All listed times I have to double time if not more. I was told to put a Rubbermaid container over the food product to insulate the waves... ha! Oven does not regulate heat. when I go to increase the heat during stated recipe, the screen always say 50 even though I would have it at 375. I was told it always will revert back to 350, really. I had all Kenmore appliances prior to the Dacor and never had a problem... Do not buy, I wish I hadnt. We are filing this with BBB and headed to small claims court.. This should be fun. I hope Dacor sees this.

Dacor representative has been helpful in responding to my complaint and has sent new oven racks which I greatly appreciate. I was able to send them pictures of the damaged racks. I want to clarify that the warranty that was sold to me by an upscale appliance center was NOT a Dacor extended warranty and I believe that this caused my issues to slip thru the cracks. Nothing can be done about the interior that seems to have a film of sorts on it, short of replacing, but I am grateful that Dacor customer service went out of the way to correct the problem with the racks.

October 2013 we had the Dacor model# EORD230SCH installed. It broke just in time for Thanksgiving! After several attempts of repairs, Dacor replaced this oven model# EORD230SCH with the next newer model at no cost. Not more than one month later the replacement oven doesnt work. Service is painfully slow. We had a 03 year warranty on the original purchase and the clock keeps ticking from the date of the initial installation. WE have asked for and been denied by Dacor, to reinstate the 03 year warranty once the unit is actually working. We bought this unit, spent extra money, thinking we were buying quality. So, two ovens in less than one year, doesnt equate to a quality product to me. Keep getting the standard answer about the warranty - no added time will be assigned.

This is our second Dacor wall oven. It is approximately 6 yrs old. December 22/14, I was cooking a Christmas turkey as per usual, and I noticed an odd smell about 40 mins. into cooking. Checking the turkey, the temp. was at 500 degrees and on broil. I burned holes in my oven mitts on the roaster taking it out. Even though I set the temp. at 325 convection roast, it reset itself to 500 broil. Nothing works except the clock. Called repair guy after the holidays. Said it is a control panel behind the keypad area. Ordered the part. Been waiting 4 months now for this part. Now, no Easter dinner either. After reading these complaints, I am worried that this part replacement may not be the end of it.

I bought a Dacor dual-fuel range in 2002 for my new house. Within 18 months, the control panel on the front had shorted, causing the stove to emit a continuous beeping. I got this repaired, and was advised that I should not use liquid cleaners on the stove! Two years later, the same thing happened again. Finally, about 4 years ago, another fault developed in the 3rd control panel, the circuit controlling the oven lights will not respond to touch, and the oven lights switch on and off continuously. Not prepared to pay for yet another control panel replacement, I switched off the power to the stove at the main fuse box. I have continued to use the gas cooktop only, lighting it with an ignition wand. The Dacor stove is only part-functional due to what is obviously a severe design fault in the front touch control panel, which causes the panel to short. I switch on the power to the unit twice a year to use the oven at Thanksgiving and Christmas for large roasts. This stove was a very expensive mistake. Luckily, I have a second (Wolf) oven in my kitchen, which I use instead for everyday cooking.

This is a follow-up to my initial complaint, which was posted on November 28, 2011, and an updated posting on December 27, concerning problems with our Dacor range. What we learned was that the local appliance shop that services Dacor quit working on Dacor appliances, so we were left with no repair company. We were contacted by the customer service representative from Dacor, who has been very diligent in working with us to find a solution.Yesterday, the Dacor regional service supervisor from Washington came to Casper to work on our oven, which is now totally functional. Pretty amazing customer service! He did share with us Dacors challenges in getting qualified local service companies, especially in smaller towns. I applaud Dacor for going the extra mile (1,000+ miles, to be more accurate) for us.

I remodeled my kitchen about four years ago with all Dacor appliances. It was the biggest mistake I have ever made. I have since replaced the refrigerator after only two years. After spending over $1000 in repair calls and parts, I purchased a new refrigerator as the freezer motor went out and had water all over my floor countless times even after new parts were installed. The ovens also have been replaced (12 months ago) as the lower heating element went out and had the upper and lower ovens go out with panel failures. I was so stupid to install the 30-inch dishwasher, as well. It also went out after 18 months with a motherboard failure. The upper rack glider also fell apart. Having the 30- inch dishwasher, I would have had to have a carpenter come in and make adjustments to my new cabinets. So I found another 30-inch Dacor dishwasher at an appliance store in Memphis, had it shipped to me and installed. It has been 10 months and I am now having the same problem I had with the previous Dacor dishwasher. It never ends! With the only option left but to have the cabinet remodeled, I will be purchasing a third dishwasher 10 months later. The only good that came out of this is the cooktop is still working (as of this date). All I can say is, if it says Dacor, dont purchase the product! This company shouldnt even be in business! What is even more pathetic is, when you call the Customer Service number, their representatives have such a I could care less attitude. It is a waste of time to even attempt to seek a solution to your problem. I guess they feel that since they have your money now, its the consumers problem, not theirs.GE Profile products are far superior and a lot less money. It goes to show an expensive price tag doesnt mean the product is superior.

We purchased a DACOR double wall oven (MOH2275) in April 2012. We are waiting for service to arrive for the fourth time since we purchased the oven. I find this unacceptable. We have had 2 other ovens in the last 30 years and they did not need any service. In general I have found appliances to be of such reliability that I dont get extended warranties. DACOR gave a 3 year warranty on this oven and now I know why. Hopefully this service will fix it for a long period of time.On the positive side, the oven really works well. It is so well insulated that we feel very little heat coming off it. One serious flaw its overall operation is the reheating of the oven. If I bake something at 350 degrees and then want to reset the over to 450 degrees, the oven does not go into preheat mode and does not let you know when you reach the required temperature. I am hopeful this will last awhile and not have to be replaced for what we paid for it.

The fridge has been down FIVE times in 8 years and we have replaced elements, etc on the stove at 5 years. Horribly built and product support has been near non-existent, even during warranty period. The electronics on the first two induction burners failed within six months which was covered under warranty. The second two went three weeks after the warranty and we had to argue with Dacor to cover them otherwise it is a $1400 repair job. From day one whenever you open the oven door the controls and heat shut off. Sometimes it turns back on when you close the door. As for the downdraft, it worked fine until 10 weeks ago when while closing, the cover lip hit a wooden spoon that had been lying flat near the edge. There is no safety feature and the motor continued to try and close the fan. The unit would not respond and would not re-open. The spoon had to be broken to get it out. If this was a childs finger you would have had to call 911. We now have a repair bill of over $350 and are still waiting for 2 months for Dacor to send a part. We will never buy this brand again.

We purchased a Dacor dual fuel oven range in 2008 in conjunction with an extensive kitchen remodel. It was beautiful and expensive. It has had innumerable problems. 2008: One of the igniters broke requiring replacement. 2014: oven stopped working, required new relay board. June 2020: Relay board again broke, oven stopped working. December 2020: Oven stopped working, heating element broke. These were serious problems each resulting in 1-2 months without an oven as the parts had to be special ordered. We have not had an oven since December 2020 (it is now March 2021). We are waiting for a replacement part. In addition, minor problems included a broken indicator light and burner grating. Dacor customer service was only moderately helpful, referring us to local repair companies that had difficulty obtaining parts. Dacor has told us that this should last decades but we are seriously considering replacing it after 12 years because it is very unreliable. I would not recommend a Dacor based on our experience.

I bought a 30 Dacor Double Oven (EO230SCH), 36 cooktop, warming drawer and matching convection microwave. Well over $10k. The microwave has been replaced as it died early within the first year while cooking popcorn - nearly started a fire in the kitchen... However the cooktop igniter died at 4 years and now the wall oven is on its third control board in years 3, 4 and 5. Nothing is under warranty and they want nothing to do with me now. The replacement oven controls cost ~$400 each plus installation. So after all this expense, I have invested $1,200 more in replacement parts and the cooktop needs an aim & flame to light. Total crap. Im going to replace all of this and will never go back to Dacor. I took the time to write this so that others will not waste their time with what I have to assume is the worst quality in the industry. Please dont waste your money.

I purchased a Dacor range/oven combination in 2005 for a total kitchen remodel. I chose Dacor for its name and reputation for quality. The first problem was that the digital clock was running very fast; that occurred in October 2005 and was covered by the warranty. The next problem was that the downdraft would not stop going up and down. I had to turn off the breaker switch of that function until the repairman could fix it. The next problem I consider as a design flaw and not an oven malfunction. Both oven lights were burned out by June 2010 and needed replacing. The light bulb cover for my model is behind a grid for the oven racks which must be removed before the light can be accessed. It’s not a 5-minute job. The next problem was in September 2010 when the oven broiler refused to work. Another service call was needed to replace the oven broiler ignitor. The next problem was in June 2011, when the oven rack, which slides into cavities built into the rear wall of the oven, refused to release. It required another repair call. The repairman had to pull the oven out away from the wall and work to release the rack. As a result, I do not use that rack. Theres no one who uses the oven besides me; I have no kids in the house. The oven has never been misused or abused. The next problem was in November 2012, when the self cleaning feature refused to work; another repair call was needed. All of the above cost me $1,250. When I contacted Dacor about the myriad of problems/issues, I got a written reply that said every situation is reviewed on a case by case basis; in most out of warranty cases, Dacor would sell me the part I needed at a reduced price. I responded that would necessitate two service calls (one to diagnose, one to fix) and an inoperable oven for however long it would take to get the part and then reschedule the repairman. In almost all of the above, my repairman (Dacor authorized repairman) had the parts on his truck. I cant be waiting weeks without a functioning oven. Based on all of the above, my oven would have been out of order for many weeks. I wrote Dacor again, thinking the CEO needs to know about all these problems. I asked my contact to forward my correspondence to the CEO for review/comment. Instead, I got a reply from the customer service supervisor who stated in part on his 1/3/13 email, There tends to be a disproportionate amount of negative postings on-line”. Really? Most companies pay attention to complaints or compliments about their product or service. If someone takes the time to communicate, then the company owes its shareholders the duty to listen when there are repeated complaints about their product. Will I buy Dacor again? Never.

After an hour on hold, they said that they would have to check with their supervisor. 2 hours later I received a call back saying that its only a 2-year warranty. Their website where I registered my product (warranty.dacor.com/member) clearly indicates that my refrigerator is still under warranty. When I confronted them with this, their answer was anyone can register anything on the website and it proves nothing. In other words, registering your product offers you absolutely no protection.I provided their supervisor all documentation requested, (including proof of title of ownership of my house!), and they still repeatedly stated its only a 2 year warranty. When asked where they are getting this information, they simply said thats what we have in our system. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but they said none were available. I left a message with the supervisor, but none ever returned my call.Dacor continues to offer their 3-For Free warranty to this very day. As a busy physician, I keep good records and pay attention to detail. Dacor has been to my home previously without incident. I am extremely disappointed in what appears to be the companys blatant attempt to deny warranty coverage despite ample documentation that its still covered. I would caution folks that their 3 year for Free warranty is simply not true based on my personal experience today. I will no longer be purchasing any Dacor products because of this, and will relay my story to anyone interested in purchasing Dacor products.

Dispenser spits out ice cubes onto wood floor everyday. Told it is design issue and nothing can be done. We have to constantly check the chute is empty after used but we can be nowhere near the fridge for hours and hear ice pop out onto floor. My grandson has tripped and fell and me also. Im more concerned for safety than anything. Also our hickory wood floor is concern.

The Dacor gas range/ oven and wall oven were here when we bought our house in 2010. I would never buy any Dacor product again. I will have to look for a replacement for the gas cooktop range. The Dacor gas cooktop is OK except that EVERY time you turn on a burner, one or two of other igniters start clicking and wont stop until you find which one it is (not always the same) and turn it on and off. Please heed this and all the other warnings from the choir. DO NOT BUY DACOR!It is all very expensive junk. The oven temperatures fluctuate while baking. The oven range unit is out of warranty. So our home warranty AHS covered it but they kept sending out the same grubby slob who never fixed the problem but did charge us for the $75.00 service fee. They replaced the oven controller and the temperature sensor. This did not fix the problem. We have a full size oven that we cannot use! Then F1 beeping nonstop, and we have to turn power off to stop it. Now, out of the blue the downdraft fan just started extending and retracting over and over again with no way to stop it without going back to the electrical panel and flipping the breaker that it is wired into. That leaves us with no kitchen and no bathroom plugs! I hung up after 35 minutes on hold. I was just trying to find a certified technician in Bend, OR. Piss Poor Products and Very poor customer service.

We purchased a very expensive Dacor double convection oven about 15 years ago. This was based on recommendations from friends who do a lot of cooking like we do, and the mistaken thought that this US company would be more inclined to support any future problem. We now have a problem with the control panel. Dacors only response is that they do not make the part anymore and cannot help us remedy the problem. They even had the nerve to say that they would give us 10% off a new one. Except for the annoying buzzer sound, the stove works well. Buying a new one is a financial burden we never expected or want to accept. We are telling all of our friends to stay away from this manufacturer. I wish I did not have to give Dacor any stars.

Regarding my previous complaint on 3/21/12, I had a Dacor fridge, model #EF42BDCBSS, installed in my brand new kitchen in March 2008 (Ive a kitchen full of Dacor). It subsequently had a problem with the drip pan in March 2009 and was fixed on warranty. Come March 2012, the fridge was again diagnosed with the same problem. The technician told me there had been a design problem, but after three re-designs, it was remedied and should have no further problems once the new part was installed. The bill, $658 and more than half, was for the part! Of course, I was livid because the fridge had been fixed in 2009 and was now off warranty. When I expressed myself originally, I was simply venting about the price of the repair without hope of a remedy. James at Dacor customer service called me promptly that next morning and left a message! We subsequently talked and he immediately got in touch with my local appliance service center. He not only worked out with them refunding my deposit for the part but also ordered two other parts that were necessary in order to fix the problem. The outcome? They fixed my fridge at no charge to me for parts or labor, and all I had to pay was the original trip and diagnosis charge. I cant begin to tell you how extremely happy and grateful I am about this. Thank you, James, for such terrific follow-through and thank you Dacor for being a top-notch business who stands behind your products!

Talked into spending $4700 on a wall oven on the recommendation of an appliance retailer. My concern was even baking and reliability. Was told I would be very happy as Dacor was best on the market. Well long story short, it never cooked evenly and after 8 years quit working. Had to lug the heavy oven to the city to an approved service provider. They thought it was the relay board (told the brains of the oven). Service provider changed several things (sensors, board and whatever else). Nothing solved problem. Phoned me and said I was looking at minimum $2000 and up. He threw oven in garbage. We didn’t even send the gas money to bring the dud home.Thought it should last longer than 8 years. I phoned Dacor. They wanted to know exactly what the problem and diagnosis was so I told them to phone the Service Provider. Said they would but I had to email copy of receipt which I did. A couple of months gone by and never heard a thing and they are not responding to my emails. DO NOT RECOMMEND DACOR.

My Dacor oven (DO130S, S/N V-A-10160044) is less than 18 months old. While it was in use, it popped, sparked, tripped the circuit breaker, and died. I called customer service, and voiced my concern on safety due to potential electrical defect. Steven, the customer service person advised me that this oven is no longer in warranty, and to call a repair service. I reiterated the concern for product safety. He placed me on hold, and the call was dropped. I called again, and Mike answered. I repeated the same info, and he was not willing to listen to any concerns. He hung up on me. This experience does reflect on published Dacors commitment to customer service, or product safety.

Follow-up to March 31 posting: In 2001, we installed two Dacor wall ovens and a gas (converted to propane) cook top. The cook top has been problem free and the brushed stainless steel surface still looks like new. Both ovens however, at that time, were problematic during the two year-warranty period. Knowledgeable service people were hard to come by in our region. After numerous service calls, Dacor replaced one of my wall ovens at or around the three-year mark (outside of the warranty period). That particular unit had only one minor issue since then and Dacor replaced the appropriate part free of charge. The other original unit has been problematic since the beginning. The latest problem being the internal light going on/off for no reason and then a lack of response to light button on the front control panel.Long story short, I posted my frustration here on March 31 and was contacted by a Dacor rep within two days. He asked me for detailed info on the problem and located the unit in their files. Some of the past repairs were known to Dacor, but others were not since we just did them ourselves. I was asked to send a detailed description of the current issue along with pictures, which I did. Based on Dacors analysis or the pictures and the exhibited problem, they sent me, free of charge, a control panel membrane, a door gasket and a set of door hinges. We installed these items and the unit is now in full working order. In looking back over the past years of problems with this particular unit, its clear to me the issues all stemmed from an original broken door hinge. It was compounded by the fact that the service and repair folks at the time considered the door gap to be within tolerance and we did not discover the broken hinge until the door glass shattered and we needed to replace it, which required removing the door. Anyway, at this stage in the game, I am very pleased with Dacors response. It is my impression that they are trying much, much harder to stand behind their products. So, while just a short time ago I would have never considered another Dacor product, when the time comes, they would still be on my list of considered vendors because when these ovens work, they work great.

I recently complained about my Dacor dishwasher that would stop running during the cycle because of a faulty circuit board and touch pad. The repair would have cost me $500.00 to replace the entire touch pad and circuit board and the Customer Service department was not in the least helpful or concerned. After making the complaint on this site, I received an email the next day from James who was very nice and asked for the model, serial number of my dishwasher and who was the repair company I used. I emailed the information back to him and after verifying my information, he informed me that the parts would be shipped to my house at no cost and I would only have to pay for the service call! Now that was great service from a company who is trying to make good for a bad item in their appliance line. My repair person told me that Dacor is now using a different manufacturer for their dishwasher so hopefully it will be a better product.

About 3 years ago, I spent almost $5,000 on a Dacor double oven. We had it less than 3 months when the motherboard had to be replaced. About 3 months ago, I started to get various error codes and a continuous beeping. An authorized Dacor service repairman has replaced the motherboard three times. He was on the phone each time with Dacor, however we still get the error codes and Dacor has told the service repairman that they are stumped and dont know how to fix it.Here I am, having a beautiful expensive oven to look at but was unable to cook a turkey for my family yesterday! It seems that there is a major error in this oven, and I am stuck with a huge repair bill and an oven that does not work. I can only hope that Dacor will step up to the plate and come up with a solution or replace the oven which obviously is a lemon.

Dangerous condition! I purchased a Dacor 36 dual fuel range 5 years ago. I reported the issue to Dacor via email with no response from customer service. I believe the no response was an attempt by Dacor to distance themselves from their responsibility for this potentially dangerous condition. Specifics: When pre-heating the oven in convection/bake mode, if the oven door is opened before reaching the set pre-heat temperature, a ball of flame will explode up from the opened door. The ball of flame is basketball sized and has singed eyebrows and hair on several occasions. To reiterate - it is a ball of flame, not super-heated air that is the problem. As a result, after non-response from Dacor, we called a decor qualified repair technician who diagnosed the problem as a bad igniter. The igniter was replaced and the problem still exists. I fear that a small child may be severely burned by the engineering design fault.

We purchased this oven/cooktop was installed in February 2020. I have been unhappy with the performance of the smaller oven from the beginning. It takes 20 minutes to pre-heat, a loud fan starts to run partway during the pre-heating process and then warm air starts to flow out the bottom. Plus, it is not either holding the correct temperature or not reaching it completely, nothing I cook in there is done in a appropriate amount of time. Baking a small potato takes an hour and a half at 375, brownies take almost twice the approximate baking time. My attempts to contact them have been less than satisfactory. I wrote for a second time over two weeks ago providing a copy of the invoice and have still heard nothing. I am quite disappointed with this product & company.

I will NEVER buy Dacor EVER again. We built a house and after looking at other high-end appliance makers and upon my mothers strong recommendation, we installed all Dacor appliances in our new kitchen. My mother based her recommendation of Dacor appliances due to what she explained as their excellent customer service. HA!! Less than 3 years after installing our pricey Dacor Epicure over-sized dishwasher it has rusted racks -- top and bottom! After experiencing a very painful, drawn-out and EXPENSIVE process of getting our racks replaced, I am not confident AT ALL that our frustrations with this dishwasher are over yet. The new retrofit slides on the top rack are so lightweight I cant imagine they will effectively operate for years to come. I have difficulty closing my dishwasher properly now and have to check each time I run it for leaks on the floor. Ive given up on my Dacor dishwasher and have resigned myself to eventually replacing it. NEVER buy Dacor!

We had problems with it all the time. The front plastic cracked and ended up causing the oven not to work. We have spent (over the past 9 years) about $1,000 on repairs. Now, we just had it fixed and our new clock that was installed into the oven is running fast. After just being fixed, it takes 20 minutes to heat up to 400. Honestly, it always has been that way. We’re not happy with it at all. We bought a Sears brand oven for our church, and it works great, and the cost was only a third of what we paid for the Dacor oven. The Sears brand bakes just as good as the Dacor (when it works). I think it was a waste of money to buy this Dacor oven.

I could not get a straight answer from the person I was talking to. He just told me that if the repairman says I need a new touch pad, then I need to get one. Well I have been doing some research and this is a problem that seems to be haunting more people than I. We own a Dacor gas cooktop that has had to have a switch repaired. In August of 2005, I purchased a Dacor pro range. In December 2005, the control panel began to blink and lose display. Dacor gave me names of 2 authorized repair people. After several visits by a repairman, I phoned Dacor and was told to call a repairman. They obviously didnt listen to me! The repairman spoke with Dacor representative who responded that the display needed to be ‘rebooted just like a computer.’ Several times a month, I must go to the electric control panel in my basement to turn the breaker switch off and on in an effort to ‘reboot’. In September 2010, the display panel went dark and could not be ‘rebooted’. I had to replace to control the membrane at a cost of $530.69 plus $169 for labor and a service call. On Thanksgiving 2010, the ‘new’ display panel which was obviously defective, stopped working. Once again, a new membrane had to be ordered and installed incurring another service and labor charge! I sent a letter to Dacor wanting reimbursement of labor/service on original defective membrane and was advised that they warranty their products, not the service! It is now November 16, 2011 and I still must continuously ‘reboot’ the control panel! However, I spoke to an authorized Dacor repairman who told me that Dacor has had many complaints such as mine and now have a devise which attaches to the power cord and filters out the ‘noise’ from other household items which disrupts the control panel on my oven! Is there a reason why Dacor is keeping this a secret? Do they not want to make their consumers happy? I cant wait to be rid off this appliance and all association with the Dacor company!

The problem started with our refrigerator unit when it was still in the first year of a 2-year warranty. After five unanswered calls to the customer service number, we were finally able to get through; not that it made a difference. My Dacor (3 years old) oven top burners igniters dont stop after being turned on, although they are burning. Ive tried drying them for many hours and applying rubbing alcohol. The front ones do this all the time when we turn them on. When we turn the left front burner on, the front right ones igniter does it along with the left! The back ones do it occasionally, so are still usable. Apparently this is a common problem with Dacor units. Why havent they fixed it? Weve had them fix the electronic panel at huge expense, and are not going to call them again. When the back burners stop working, well get another unit. Ive had gas stoves for 30 years and have never experienced anything like this poor quality. Its amazing that they are still in business.

I wrote yesterday, perhaps a little too hastily that our motherboard was dead on our Dacor stove. The repairman came today and fixed it by removing it from the front of the stove and unplugging two plugs and plugging them back in. Everything works fine now and we are vastly relieved. The repairman commented that most people are very happy with their Dacor appliances and he doesnt repair them very often.Total relief. Also hope this doesnt happen again because though extremely simple to repair, it would become very tiresome to remove the motherboard and fiddle with the sophisticated circuitry if we had to do it ourselves. I have the same problem Judy had last week. I have a 36 inch under counter oven. I use it all the time. I have had it for about 10yrs. In the last year the computer has been replaced 3 time. The first time it cost me $600.00. 6wks later it was replaced for free. Now the oven is having the same problem. I hope Dacor makes me as happy as Judy.

We were out of state from December 21, 2014 to January 2, 2015. The condition of the refrigerator was discovered at about 9:30 PM on Saturday, January 2nd. Upon opening the door the Dairy Compartment Cover fell to the floor. We could immediately see the damage but did not know the source. As a result, the unit was turned off. The owners manual was consulted along with a review of the Dacor website. The office was closed on the weekend so Monday was the earliest we could obtain names of Dacor authorized repair agents in the Phoenix area. A authorized Dacor repair technician stated the light switch or light circuit in the board failed. The interior light bulbs located at the top of the refrigeration side of the unit remained on when the refrigerator door was closed. The heat generated by the continuously lit bulbs led to the melting and charring of the plastic light fixture. The light socket melted, the wiring harness melted into the socket assembly, light switch, and control panel. The heat was intense enough to warp the Dairy Compartment clear plastic cover, some of the adjustable door bins, and the interior door liners. Also, all food containers made from plastic such as salad dressing bottles, mustard, ketchup and mayonnaise, etc. were disfigured. Of course all the contents from both the refrigerator and freezer had to be disposed. Before leaving on an extended trip we had been following the instructions preparing for a vacation listed on page 19 of the owners manual. On our departure date the food that would not have lasted more than two weeks was removed from the refrigerator. The ice bin was emptied and the wire shut off arm was raised to the OFF (O) position. Note, page 19 does not mention to set the Sabbath mode when leaving for a short or long vacation. We were fortunate that the damage was contained within the refrigerator.

We remodeled our kitchen in 2016. We chose Dacor 30” range. The gas oven has been a disaster. After less than a year, it wouldn’t heat. They replaced it, same problem. I purchase a home with a Dacor double oven. Unfortunately the oven begins transmitting multiple beeps and the touch panel will sometimes read off after beeping a while. I contacted the staff at Dacor requesting a service manual. They refused to send me a service manual and stated that only authorized technicians can service their equipment. Its obvious they used google or a local phone book and sent me contacts of appliance repair shops in my area. When I called, they had never heard of Dacor let alone be factory authorized. I called Appliance repair shops up to 50 miles away to find there were no Dacor Dealers. I found one 70 miles away but it was too far to send a technician. If I remove my oven from the wall and take it there they would attempt to look at it. I had to reverse engineer the thing to find that my touch panel has gone bad and now I cannot find a used one. I want to recommend that anyone considering an appliance DO NOT PURCHASE A DACOR! If you are looking for high end stick to SubZero / Wolf. Oddly enough I see that there hasnt been any reviews for the past 5 years. Maybe it appears people have stopped buying Dacor appliances.

As I have read in most of the reviews, we have also experienced the control panel on our 30 inch dual range cracking over the years. We were told not to replace it because it would continue to happen. Ok, lived with that... Now something new has started to happen, the plastic handle on the oven door and surrounding area has started to melt. It got so bad after a self clean that it is collapsing. Now there isn’t much of a seal at all when the door closes. The stove isn’t brand new, but this has to be a fire hazard, and consequently, now the oven will not even turn on. I’ve reached out to Dacor with no response yet. I’m done with this company!

Do not buy a Dacor appliance unless youre okay with replacing parts for the oven in less than 2 years. The control electronic part was replace then less than a year later the user interface had to be replaced. Less than a year after the user interface was replaced, the oven completely stopped working. After calling the same repair guy to come fix it, they informed me that the company no longer sells the control interface. When I called the company, the only options they gave me were to send the part to a third party refurbish company and have them fix it. That means I would have to call the service repair company for the FOURTH time to have them remove the part, I would need to send it away to get fixed and call them back to put it back in. Dacor didnt even offer to pay for any of this. The customer service rep offered to give me a discount on a new unit. Are you kidding me?!? Please do yourself a favor and dont buy anything from this company. They dont back up their products and its clear they dont care about their reputation. Its a waste of money to be spend on high end appliances that are poorly made. Spend less from a different company thats been around for a long time. At least if a part goes, youll have reassurance they will have that part handy. A terrible company. I hope they go belly up soon so they can stop selling overly priced kitchen appliances to people.

We remodeled our kitchen and decided to use the range as the focal point of the room. The decision to go with a Dacor ER36DSCH dual fuel range over comparable Wolf and Viking models as well as a Dacor heating drawer was made, a decision I have regretted since. Our unit keeps blowing the baking element ($200) which routinely fails at the most inopportune times. To date I have replaced four and the Mrs. recently informed me that the oven is once again not heating properly. Thankfully, I am competent enough to diagnosis and repair it myself and did a thorough operational inspection and cleaning which revealed the broil element ($180) had also gone bad this time. My wife hates this oven and unfortunately it sits right smack in the middle of our beautiful kitchen to remind us of the bad decision we made. In fact, we are now at the point where we are considering replacing it and sending it to a scrap yard where it belongs. Avoid this brand or it will cost you.

My wife and spend $12k on a new Dacor range/oven 15 years ago. The range works well, the LED lights on the gas knobs needed changed once in a while, the oven door wouldn’t close properly and the heat in the oven wasn’t distributed evenly. All that we could live with. Then the oven died. The repair technician ordered the part. Samsung don’t make it anymore. We are now left with no oven. So we have spent $800 a year on a Dacor range that now doesn’t work. Thanks Dacor… or Samsung?

I had an issue with the wall oven light on my Dacor Preference double oven. To make a long story short, after contacting Dacor directly, they made sure that the unit was fixed by providing the part directly to me and confirming that the local repair company would be willing to install it. The oven is 8 years old and in the end, what I spent seemed reasonable to get a fully functioning oven (membrane switch). They were prompt, personal and courteous in their response to me. I came away feeling that Dacor takes pride in their history and their products! They also cleared up some misconceptions that I had regarding the status of their company. Although it was frustrating to have an appliance not work properly, I feel that the customer service Dacor provides makes their company one worth sticking with. That makes a big difference in todays impersonal world.

DONT recommend model #MOH130. We were so impressed with the options that this oven came with. Sadly, with all the bells and whistles also came a ton of repairs. After the 4th repair, our service rep said the relay board needed to be switched out. (Half of the service men who came to my house seemed to be grasping at straws trying to come up with an explanation why the temperature was fluctuating, or why it took so long to heat up, etc.) Then I get to wait 2 weeks for a part to be ordered/arrived and re-schedule service. I purchased my first Dacor appliances in 1991, built a second house in 2005 and again purchased Dacor double ovens and a cooktop. Loved them! Remodeled my current home and again purchased the double ovens and a cooktop. The double oven, DTO230FS, which was installed in November 2015, 4 years ago, stopped working. I was roasting asparagus and we smelled what seemed to be burning plastic. The oven is used about 4 times a month, I have never used the self cleaning feature therefore it is surprising that it broke. The repairman said that the relay board was bad and will need to order the part. He estimates that it will be $600 to fix it. Sad that I need to incur the repair cost of an oven that is only 4 years old.

After 7 to 8 years of daily use, we did have to replace the door hinge on the oven I use most often. We are in a rural area so the repairs are accomplished through Sears. The replacement parts arrived in a timely manner and the oven has worked perfectly since. The cooktop is easy to clean and the heat is even. The downdraft fan is effective and easy to clean. I would be confident to recommend Dacor products.

Updated on 02/23/2021: Its been several weeks since I first posted. The only reply that Ive received was an email via this site that requested information from me on my claims. The info was provided the same day. A week has gone by since I provide the information and I have yet to hear back from Dacor. Not even a were looking into your issue. What I did receive was a notice from Samsung (who has acquired Dacor) telling me that one of my service tickets has been cancelled. I dutifully called the listed number to get more information... only to be told that the Samsung customer service rep could not help me and that I needed to call Dacor. Ive tried to approach this matter with humor up to this point but I am out of patience. Given the price I paid for these products, I expected a premium customer experience... the experience I have received has been abysmal.Original Review: I did not think that a customer experience could be this AWFUL or that a vendor could seem to care less than Dacor cares about resolving my issues. After 5 months, the exhaust downdraft that we purchased still does not work and Dacor either does not respond or - when I can get someone on the phone - I get any number of standard excuses (parts shortages, Covid, port backlogs are delaying deliveries, the integration with Samsung, etc, etc). I am also missing basic parts such as shelves(!) that should have been installed during the original installation. The retail partner (Specialty Appliance) does not seem to have anymore luck in getting answers.

I bought it at what I thought was a fair price, considering the cosmetic defects. When our home was completed in November 2011, we installed the oven but found the oven would not heat up to the set temperature. I was told by the company I bought it from that it would be eligible to be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I called Dacor and was told that since I didnt buy it from an authorized dealer, they would not cover it under their warranty even though I had it under one year. We purchased a Dacor Epicure dual fuel range when we built our house 7 years ago. It was the most expensive appliance we bought and we wish we hadnt. We have had no problems with the stove top, but the oven, specifically the broiler unit has been a consistent problem. We rarely use the broiler and use the oven perhaps 2 or 3 times a month. Yet, the igniter had to be replaced in March of 2008 and again, in June of 2010. In January of 2011, the broil gas valve was changed and now in September, the broiler is again not working. I cant see pouring any more money into this appliance and will sell as soon as I find a buyer willing to take a chance on it. We have been greatly disappointed in this product.

I have been very disappointed in the reliability of our Dacor refrigerator, model EF42BDCBSS, purchased in 2007. The first circuit board went out in 2008 within 6 months of the initial purchase. A replacement part could not be located. It was still under warranty so they replaced the whole unit. In 2010, we had to have another repair to regulate the temperature of the freezer. Last week (October 2012), the circuit board went out again! Even though the unit itself is less than five years old, it is no longer under warranty. Dacor goes by the original installation date. I contacted Dacor and spoke with LS who basically stated that all they could offer was a discount on the part. This repair is costing us over $650, not including the loss of food. We paid to have the part second day. When we called back the next day to get a tracking number for the shipment of the part, we were told by another representative that the part had not shipped because it was out of stock in the default warehouse. He was able to locate it in another warehouse and get it shipped the same day. I called LS back and she stated that she never promised when it would ship, but when it did, it would go second day. I would not expect this type of repair cost and attitude on a refrigerator that was over $9,000 when new. Now, I am concerned with the liability of our range and microwave, which are of the same Dacor brand. The main reason I took the time to write this email is to make retailers aware of the situation and ask that you seriously look at the reputation of the Dacor appliance line and decide if you really want to promote this product to your customers. Dacor could care less about their customers and/or reputation.

We did a complete kitchen remodel in 2007. I wanted top of the line appliances, and I liked the look of Dacor. I spent over $10,000 on a refrigerator, oversize dishwasher, microwave oven and a warming oven... (I know). Within 16 months, everything started to fall apart. Of course it was over the one year’s mark so there was no replacing of the units on the manufacturers part. I have since replaced the motherboard on the dishwasher twice... total of 3K in repairs! I cant replace the dishwasher because it was oversized and we built our cabinets around it and no other company sell an oversized dishwasher. I have replaced the microwave oven with another one that looks just like it because for some reason it fried. The refrigerator constantly rattles and my husband and I are at our wits end because of it. The only thing that hasnt fell apart yet is the warming oven. Probably because we dont use it. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Its a total waste of money. Next time Im buying Kenmore. My old Kenmore is sitting out in the garage being a good and faithful second fridge.

NONE of the appliances has worked properly, but the dishwasher has taken the cake. I have lost count on how many times I was in contact with the customer service. I cannot tell you how frustrating this has been! I was eventually told that I could not complain anymore because I was out of warranty and they would not respond anymore! I am stuck with this $3000+ dishwasher that I cannot afford to replace, because I would have to rebuild that area of counter cabs in the kitchen! The service has been horrible. Look at the other brands in this category like Wolf, Sub Zero, Miele.Original Review: I purchased a complete Dacor Kitchen package worth close to $20k for a home I did a renovation on. I purchased a Dacor Renaissance range for our new home. What a waste of money. Though I have not had any major problems with the performance of the range yet, besides uneven baking, the design is not user-friendly. To begin with, the gas burners share a grate. So when cleaning, you have to remove the whole grate on one side. The controls for the burners & griddle are very hard to see & I have to bend over to see which burner Im turning on. The oven racks are a joke. The two glide racks are very bulky with sharp edges. It is difficult to change the heights or to remove them for cleaning purposes. Though there are three racks included, it is impossible to bake with all three in the oven.I have a GE Monogram that I had purchased two years ago for another home, and I love it The Renaissance & Monogram are similar in price, but I unfortunately, listened to the sales person & let them talk me into the Renaissance. I realized my mistake in buying a Dacor immediately & contacted the appliance store. Even though the Renaissance had not been used, they would only give me a token amount of money towards trading it in for a Monogram. So, I am stuck with a range that causes me to swear under my breath every time I use it. Dacor could learn a lot from GE.
