This refrigerator ended up being the highlight of my new kitchen. I was skeptical purcahsing a refrigerator unseen and off of Amazon. Here is my experience: I went to three appliance stores. They all had large refrigerators on the floor for to look at. None had the size I wanted on the floor for me to touch and see. Therefore, I would be ordering sight unseen from any source. Talk to your local appliance folks about their shipping. Amazon was fast and with Amazon Prime definietly cheaper. All three local stores would be ordering my fridge and I thought their wait times were a risk to my and keeping my kitchen reno on schedule (time equals money to a contractor). As for this fridge, I needed the door swing changed. I did hire a local handyman and it took him about 35 minutes. The directions were in detailed/detail. All the parts for changing the door swing were provided. That was as smooth as it gets. I needed specific dimensions, and Summit was the only manufacturer I could find that made these. I am so happy I got the Summit. I am a short 5'1" and I can get to everything on the top shelf. The inside is small. I thought I would not like this. However, I found I only eat what I know is there, and with this fridge you can see everthing! I love, love, love that. I purchase some clear baskets for the inside, since they only come with two. For the two drawers that come with the unit, they slide on their bottoms on the base of the refrigerator. I purchased some super slick tape off Amazon (uselful throughout the house) and made two runners on the bottom of each drawer. They slide like a dream. I like this 100 times better than traditional drawers that slide by a rim at the top, because the kind I grew up with were always a trick to take out and wash and then get back into place on the rails provided. The Summit solution with my slick tape rails on the bottom are a cinch and avoids frustration. I must say that the feezer does have some ice formations due to humidity. And, the freezer is not super cold. That might be operator error. I should be playing with the temperature settings. There are no door shelves in the freezer. I wasnt expecting that, since most freezers have shelves on the door. However, this being a bottom freezer, I found that I would have hated shelves on the freezer door. Instead I bought some clear shoe boxes from the dollar storeto corral my little stuff. Now I just pull the box onto the counter where I can conveniently rumish through the contents. That works out better. The refrigerator has four full shelves. My old fridge only had three, so I think this is a luxury. I cannot hear my fridge at all. I live in a small condo, so that was a concern. Nope, cannot hear it. To be fair, my kitchen reno has this fridge with cabinets built around it with room for air flow, and maybe that is why there is no noise. I know it is on because the stuff id cold and the light comes on. The other thing that I really like is how easily it slides. I can easilly slide it (remember I am short) even when it is full of contents. Seeeet! I've never had that in a fridge. And it looks great. And having a cabinet depth fridge makes the kitchen appear bigger. My friends and neighbors all swear that I changed the footprint of my kitchen (we know the secret was this fridge). Lastly, this cabinet depth fridge did not go wide to make up for the space, but rather went tall. That was genious and I am benefiting! Who wants to conserve space above the fridge? In a show of hands, not many. However, any width eats into my counterspace, and I love counterspace. Having a taller fridge rather than a wider one is awesome. Believe me when I say that every shelf on this fridge, all the way to the top and back is accessible without having to stand on my toes. I hightly recommend this fridge

We've had this Summit for 14 months and it is everything Summit advertises: quiet, efficient, sleek,well-made, and easy to care for, even in a busy cooking household. (No finger-smudge problem with this brand.) The interior is extremely well-organized. It holds more food than our previous, larger-capacity fridge, all within easy reach. We have a stand-alone freezer in the pantry so the limited storage capacity of the freezer compartment is not a problem. The price and quality make this an excellent option to achieve a streamlined look in the kitchen without the cost of high-end models or built-ins. HC Cost was a great seller to work with--they went the extra mile for customer satisfaction and delivery all the way out here in the PacNW ski country.

We recently purchased this frig for our small, 1950s kitchen, which we've somewhat remodeled with grey, white and black tile and a new countertop. The Summit frig was an excellent addition. It is modern looking (because it is stainless) and it is unusually tall -- making up for space lost by it's both shallow (counter-depth) and narrow design. I am 5'1" and can reach all of the interior. It is perfect for our family of two, and I cook 6-7 dinners a week. Because it is shallow, food is easy to find/see. The door holds a lot (though when using all racks, only the bottom one holds anything really tall, like a bottle of wine). The horizontal wine rack is removable. Having the freezer on the bottom is handy -- most people use their refrigerator many times a day and their freezer only occasionally. The ice cube tray is an oddity: it is large but only holds Summit's special small-sized ice cube trays. No worries -- I just use regular ice cube trays elsewhere in the frig. (This model doesn't have an ice maker, and I didn't need one as there's no plumbing in that part of my kitchen.) Originally, I didn't want to purchase a frig without seeing it first, but box and home improvement stores don't carry it in the store, and though there were other sellers with it, they were typically commercial. Since I compared it to several similar types and had read so many positive reviews, and because it was reasonably priced (particularly when compared to a $3K refrigerator), I took the plunge. I am so glad I did. The Summit replaced a crummy, short-and-squat-and-deep refrigerator. Even though it was larger cubic square foot -wise, it was awful to find anything and it took up way too much space. I highly recommend this refrigerator for anyone with a small kitchen.

It is sooooo quiet!!! We were worried after reading all the reviews about it being noisy ! They must have done something to address that issue because this is the quietest fridge we've ever had. It is perfect for our 1903 kitchen -standing 75" tall , counter depth and 27" wide ( which is wider than we expected) but ultimately offers adequate space for our needs while making our kitchen feel spacious , functional and beautiful-

Kind of a retro fridge in many ways but a really nice looking unit. Cooling tubes in the back like I remember from years ago. The auto defrost feature leaves frost and ice drops on the back wall of the fridge inside the upper compartment. This ice apparently melts and drains into a drain hole in the bottom rear of the upper compartment. We have had it in service for a few weeks and it seems to work great, and is very quiet. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have an ice maker option, so you have to make ice the old fashioned way in trays. The best thing about the fridge for us, is that it fits in the space we have available for it. (It's an older home built in 1938 and we didn't want to change the fridge compartment size.) It's the only one we could find that had a bottom freezer compartment and a narrow width. As advertised, it is only cabinet depth so it doesn't stick way out into the room like some fridges do. Over all, we are very pleased with our purchase. The price was right. The purchase and shipping were handled without a hitch.
