We purchased a full suite of Viking kitchen appliances (gas range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), which were delivered on 10/1/2019. Since they were installed, all four appliances have required service. First, the insulated glass on the microwave door was not sealed properly, so condensation formed between the glass. Viking’s fix for this issue was a new door, which took over a month to get. The front panel on the dishwasher was damaged when it was installed, so it also needed to be replaced. The panel came with the microwave door about a month after it was ordered. The gas range - which is supposed to be the flagship product for Viking - also required repair. The oven would not ignite consistently and would fill my home with noxious gas that had to be aired out. (The service technician found that the ignitor was too far from the heating element, which is why the oven wouldn’t light.) There are no bells and whistles on this range, which I knew when I bought it, so one would think it would do the one thing it is capable of doing... lighting... and it couldn’t even do that without a service call. Now the refrigerator is sounding alarms randomly and indicates that our freezer is varying temperatures, as high as 55 degrees. There is no way to disable the alarm and it has taken more than a week to get a service call scheduled, which means my family has to endure this loud beeping that goes off all day and night. To make matters worse, we have a special needs child who is terrified of alarms so this has been particularly distressing to him. Due to whatever error the freezer is experiencing, the compressor runs so much that our food in the fridge is freezing. I have had to throw out a bunch of produce, like apples, pears, lettuce, etc., because of the extreme cold in the fridge. Given we have only had these appliances for two months and experienced problems with all four of them, I would say I am extremely disappointed in Viking’s quality. Their service has been terrible, too. Despite multiple attempts to contact someone at Viking who can help, we have yet to receive a call back. In the meantime, I’ve had to reach out to multiple appliance repair companies, the retailer where we purchased the appliances, and taken time off work multiple times to have the appliances serviced. Had I known how bad my experience with Viking appliances and arrive would be, I would’ve saved myself the trouble and money and purchased non-“professional” appliances!

Sales communications could have been better, as when the range arrived the installation was not scheduled. There is a bow in the bottom panel, and the gas ignites in the oven only %50 of the time, the other $50 of the time only smell gas - unfortunately two whumphhh! booms occurred inside which is how I discovered the gas does not ignite well - obviously a small explosion occurred and I will not use the oven. The result so far after several months since I placed the order?: Service took two weeks to get scheduled for a repair date that is an additional three weeks out. I still have no idea if this is covered under warranty or if it can be fixed, I only know I waited for ever and have a nice looking range that is only %50 useful, and in general underperforms vs Thermador, which I would have bought had I not had my heart set on a specific color. I still have no oven to use, not worth it after several months experience (so far).

Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didnt work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didnt like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didnt like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didnt have, but I didnt want an oven that I couldnt use. So I got a Viking.I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then its not and Im a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasnt secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didnt work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didnt think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadnt touched. I dont know where those dents came from, but I didnt do either one of them. So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, Ive been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesnt bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. Its hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. Its hard to see whats going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would. Furthermore, I dont notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I dont know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like its not real sturdy and I dont know how itll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, Im not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then Im getting used to it. Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when its pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldnt keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, Im gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they havent been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, Im pretty happy overall.

I chose Viking for its reputation but my range doesnt work. It just clicks away. It won’t simmer and it can’t light the oven. I have to put it on broiler first. Viking sent somebody to fix it, but they never fixed it. It was temporarily fixed. Now, it’s broken again. It’s only a couple months old. So we contacted the appliance store that we purchased it from and they also put another service ticket. However, it was not a good time and I didn’t want anybody in the house when they called. So now, I need somebody to get out here and fix my stove. It’s a lovely cooking apparatus but it has to work better than this.

We own several high end Viking range products - a professional series wine cellar, a professional series steam/convection oven and a professional series microwave. We installed these in mid-2009 into a new home we built. All had several months of downtime on more than one occasion, while parts were on order. First, the trim kits on the stacked microwave and steam oven did not and still do not match, very noticeable difference that 3 subsequent replacements never addressed (we were copied on an email form the regional manager that the Swiss sourced steam oven never matched, but no one gave a rats **). The compressor on the $7,500 wine cellar failed (2-3 months waiting for parts), then the motherboard on the steam oven failed (3 months), then the control panel on the microwave (3 months). Now the microwave does not work again. The steam oven failed a 2nd time. Does it ever get any worse? You bet. The servicing company hates dealing with Viking. They are put on hold for 30-40 minutes constantly and advised us to never ever buy another Viking range product. As I am also a CEO, I am absolutely appalled by the deplorable quality across the spectrum provided by this company. We also have Miele, Asko, SubZero and LaCanche products in our kitchen - all have performed flawlessly. Viking range should be avoided at all costs.

Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Dont waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

I was looking at Thermador, Viking, and Wolf, and read reviews on all of these. But aesthetically, I liked Viking better in the price that I was looking for. I love it. I like the burners, the handles, the very large oven, as well as the top and bottom trays that move on the inside. I have the 36-inch, with a six-burner and the size is great. I went from cooking on electric to liquid propane, so its a little different. It took me a bit of time to get used to the timing for the oven, but now that I do, I like it because it cooks so much quicker on the stovetop. The oven is a little bit slower, but it seems to make the heat evenly dispersed, so it cooks much better salmon, chicken, and quiche. Any issue that I had, Viking resolved immediately. They were honest, efficient, very responsive to any calls, and had great customer service. They were really good to work with, and the installers did a great job. I couldnt be happier.

I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and I’ve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. It’s been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. So now, it’s supposed to be with the regional manager and I keep calling back every day and nobody calls me back. Its a very poor, runty service with Viking.

We looked around at different places when we needed to buy another built-in refrigerator. Vikings reputation wasnt that great, but I thought I would take a gamble on it because I was told that they improved the product a lot. But what really sold me was that I liked the space on the refrigerator door - the little stuff on the door for condiments. Some of the other refrigerators did not have that. With the refrigerator, you dont have to change the filter. It has some kind of purification system on it. Weve had the refrigerator for about six months now and so far so good. It fits my needs. I havent had any complaints and Im hoping it continues that way. But I dont think I would be going back to the dealership. At first, they were nice then they kept on saying that the refrigerator was delivered then it wasnt delivered then it was delivered. I got a little bit angry at the gentleman on the phone. I also wanted an extended warranty and he said he was gonna send me the information but he never did. There were just follow-up issues.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

Consumers BEWARE. Viking products are overrated and no better than buying a cheap brand. We purchased a Viking Built-in Microwave Hood (VMOR506) and Viking Range (model # VDER5304BSS), installed November 6, 2018. After just TWO weeks use (Nov 22), the microwave and vent QUIT WORKING. Finally SIX weeks later (Jan 2, 2019) the microwave was repaired. The range also needed repair... but lucky us... that was just the external decorative lighting. Throughout the process, the Viking Customer Service has not been helpful. We are told company policy is NO replacement unless the product breaks down consistently and that we should view the repaired product as a NEW microwave. The Viking message is simple: we sell you a defective product and made our profit. Meanwhile you get to wait 6 weeks for the repair (no microwave, no vent, no convection oven) and hope that the repair indeed makes it like new. And if it fails again after the one year warranty is up...well thats the consumers problem.

I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. We had Viking in the past. It was something we became accustomed to and it really never gave us a bunch of problems. We decided to stay with something that we like and we got a Viking range. First unit replaced by HADCO because of compressor failure. Second unit is worse with multiple issues and problems; ice build up on bottom freezer, water leaking onto hardwood floor, plastic drawer fronts and pulls breaking, ice maker supply tube freezing, bad door seals, both door hinges broken, and several more issues. Ive had it with Viking and HADCO and have a Facebook page: ** for others to post photos and complaints with the hope we will be heard by Viking.

Our neighbor has a Viking refrigerator and I like the appearance. It also seems like they last longer. We bought one through Best Buy and the specific sales person was really good. I like that the fridge has more shelves than usual, but when we had it installed and opened it, the drawers were cracked and I am frustrated with that. It would have also been nice for the fridge to make crushed ice, instead of the big ones.

We initially looked at different models and ended up getting a better deal with Viking. Everything we bought came in with the package, which was nice. The dealer tried to work with us to get the best deal. The conventional oven in the gas top works great as well as the broiler, but unfortunately, the convection part of the oven doesnt work so weve had to put in a service call for it. Its a little disappointing since its brand new and thats an issue. Additionally, since that supplier is out of state, we took a couple of days to find out who could supply the Viking range. I had to call them back and then they gave me the name of the supplier, then the supplier took a day or two just to have them call me back. Luckily it was close to the area that we were, but the rep was getting calls from people from New York and other states so not too many people service them. Overall my Viking range looks great and I had great interactions with the people, but theyre lacking in servicing.

Friends who had Viking in the past had good things to say. But it was the quality and the nice looks of it that made me decide to go with them. However, I was surprised that the hinges on the door had to be replaced so soon. The oven is about three and a half years and their warranty was only three years. The dealer was great though. When they called, they were engaged and got back to me right away. The oven is great. It has a good temperature and it feels very durable. Overall, I had a good experience with Viking. I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? I am frustrated and disappointed with how this was handle.

Viking is a good brand. And we saw it at Best Buy, and we liked what we saw. The salespeople were very professional. The quality of our range is pretty good, but we’re a little upset with a couple of things. For the price of the range that we bought, it’s a pretty high-end range, and the burners are all stained up with the heat. It doesn’t very look appealing. As soon as we had it installed, we had trouble with one of the burners not lighting up, and we’re still having the same issue. Other than that, we like it. I like that it’s a six burner. And I like the BTU part of it the most.

My wife went to a showroom and saw a Viking refrigerator and liked it. We got our Viking a year ago and I like the shelving. However, our experience with the team at the actual Viking dealer wasn’t great. They didn’t do a good installation, so we had to have a different team back out to re-install it. Also, when I made my warranty claim, I found out that the unit had not been registered with Viking. But when I went back on the invoice, I saw that I had paid a $4.00 fee for them to register it. I probably wouldn’t buy from this place again, although it’s not Viking’s fault but the dealer’s.I have a warranty claim that Viking is working on because when the power is interrupted, the refrigerator sometimes doesn’t come back on automatically. If they can get that fixed, then it’s a good piece of equipment. If that can’t get fixed or if that’s a design defect in the equipment, then I’m not going to be really happy about it. Nevertheless, I was really impressed with the way Viking handled the warranty claim. It turned out that I called them a day or two after the one-year anniversary of the purchase date, yet they were very nice about it and they said it wasn’t going to be a problem. He could have said that I was one day outside of my one-year warranty period, so they were not going to do it, but they didn’t say that.

Its quality is good and we’re happy with it thus far, but there are a few things about it that we’re struggling with. I’ve been in the restaurant business for so many years and Vikings name has been around. It’s quality product and all that good stuff. I’ve watched them over going to Best Buy and thought that one’s beautiful. My recent purchase was a single oven, microwave steam convection oven, all in one dishwasher, gas range and the refrigerator. So far so good but I kind of wish Viking offered a filtered water system through their refrigerators but they don’t. But it does make ice which is nice. I’d definitely recommend their product to a friend. But Viking is top of the line, top dollar. It’s not for the average consumer. I didn’t buy it to make my house value go up because what I’ve heard is all the high end kitchen equipment doesn’t really hold value because not everyone takes pleasure in that. But I wanted the best I can have and my choice was Viking.

When we remodeled our kitchen I decided to purchase all Viking appliances based on their reputation, and I thought they were built in the US. I have had issues since day one and have never really had anything resolved satisfactorily by Viking. My double oven has slow heating up times, uneven cooking, even on convection, and now has issues with the digital timer. My biggest disappointment however is the refrigerator. I was so excited to have a large all refrigerator in my kitchen. It has had multiple cooling problems since day one. I think the real problem has never been diagnosed and is now so bad that it is not fixable. I have spent over $2000 on repairs and it still doesnt work. The door is simply too heavy for the hinges and will not close in the top left corner. This produces massive condensation on the inside which freezes. It also causes uneven cooling where my vegetables in the crisper at the bottom are frozen and the milk on the middle shelf is warm. We have replaced the gasket and adjusted the hinges but it simply will not close the gap. This is a design problem. Disgraceful for a product that cost over $7000. As of yet Viking seems on interested in resolving a problem. They are certified repair company has said that they are unable to help any further.

I like the reputation of Viking. I purchased a refrigerator-freezer from them but then it came without the leveling package at the bottom. Furthermore, it doesnt make ice and it makes a weird “boing” noise when I open the freezer door. Also, the door on the freezer got scratched when the men came to put my cabinets in. That’s being replaced under the 90-day cosmetic warranty. But in the meantime, I asked them to put the grill on the front of the refrigerator down at the bottom. However, the guy who was installing the cabinet said that he couldnt because my leveling package isnt there. Their techs are coming out to put it in, and that’s gonna be quite an ordeal ‘cause it’s gonna take three men to stand it on its side and put it the leveling package. Also, Im not happy with this issue because I’m gonna have to sign a waiver telling them I won’t sue them if my floor gets damaged.Furthermore, the people who are dealing with the warranty issue regarding the door and the leveling package kept asking me who delivered my refrigerator. So, the people who delivered it to me knew that the leveling package wasnt there and didnt say a word to me. I wouldnt have known had I not had cabinets built around the refrigerator. Nevertheless, the refrigerator-freezer works very well, except with not making ice.

Every time the machine has broken down, we call Viking for their recommendation which always is to pay more than $1000 for replacement parts. Weve done this now at least 4-5 times, but on todays visit the certified repairman told us it would be more than $1000 and he could not guarantee it would work (the immediately prior visit was 3 months ago and $1500 - on Vikings advice, naturally). Viking offered us 10% off on a new refrigerator - that would be less than we spent on the last repair. Todays Viking rep didnt seem to understand why I didnt think that was a good deal....hmmm..

Shortly after posting we received a call from Viking asking for the repair estimates from the service company, which we shared. Viking replied that due to the age of the appliances (5 years) they are not able to help. Viking was once a great American brand that created superior appliances. For the premium price, buyers could feel confident in the the quality of their purchase and the companys customer service. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Viking is aware of the flaws with some of their products, especially the refrigerators (as is evidenced by the sheer number of complaints on this site alone about the same issue), yet they refuse to stand behind their products. Despite my hopes that I would be able to report that Viking did the right thing and repaired what is clearly a design flaw affecting many, unfortunately I cannot. It would be extremely easy for them to resolve this issue, but they choose not to. Instead, Viking prefers to erode customer trust in their products, service and their brand. I am sad to report that the Viking of today is no longer the company it once was. My only advice to anyone considering a Viking appliance or a full Viking kitchen is: buyer beware. Read the reviews on this site and others carefully.

When we did a complete remodel of our kitchen in 2018 we purchased Viking range top, downdraft vent & dual wall ovens. Viking had a promotion going where they threw in the dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working in late January 2019, about 8 months after installation. We called the Viking authorized appliance repair company. They sent a service tech out 8 days later. He informed us the dishwasher had a bad water pump and circuit board. Told us it would take a week or two to get replacement parts. Never heard back so after two weeks I called the service center and was informed the parts would be in late March which means were out of a dishwasher for over 2 months.I am a general contractor with over 40 years in the business and have never experienced a dishwasher failure. I guess that is why Viking is giving them away! I may go ahead and purchase a Miele and throw this Viking unit out. I dont know how Viking can justify two month wait times for parts. I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. I’ve known about Viking for quite some time. The name was pretty strong but they went through some rough patches as of recent. But I liked changes that were made after the company was purchased by Middleby. I liked the BTUs that they offered too. There werent many out there that had higher BTU. I used to have a Viking 16 years ago and the new one works just as good as the old one. We had some growing issues where they, unfortunately, tried to keep up with demand and not necessarily putting as much time and effort into research and development. But it looks like the purchase by the newer company has fixed all those issues. My range is a solid piece of equipment. So far, it’s been working fine and is doing everything I expected it to do. I like the strength of the front three burners. I cook a lot. When finishing off sous vide or doing cordon steaks, you need the high BTU. Typically, I braised pork belly for 10 hours but I like to finish it off with a really good high sear as they caramelize. The range is helpful because it has high heat to it.Also, when I had an issue with one of my knobs, a replacement knob was sent to me immediately. Overall, I had a very good experience with the company. I like the fact that Viking has a local office here in California as well so if I ever have an issue, I could always try and get on to their distribution center or their facility over here.

My husband is a builder, and he always thought that Viking Ranges are more expensive than others. But the lady at Best Buy called and said they have this floor model line. We were getting a new range, and I love to cook, so I was like, Sure. However, for three weeks I didn’t have a range and it was a big mess. There seems to be a big disconnect on the Best Buy part of Viking. In summary, don’t buy a Viking from Best Buy. It started last September 22nd and it was awful at first. Best Buy would not get someone out here. They didn’t even know they sold us an LP. Apparently Viking misstated it. Best Buy couldn’t say why it didn’t work and then when they figured it out, the sales girl said they were getting someone because they kept telling me its really hard to get a Viking tech. It was out for two weeks. I also had a Best Buy warranty and they told me that it covers Viking. I called the Geek Squad. The day they came, theyre like, We don’t service Viking ranges and I still don’t have a clear answer on that. The manager was supposed to get me whether or not the Best Buy warranty covers Viking and they still don’t have an answer yet. Once the manager got involved, he saw how I upset I was. At first were going to convert the range but they couldnt. The techs involvement helped. He said, Its either buy a Viking LP or gas or you have to take the whole oven apart to convert it.” That ended up being a no-go. That weekend, he got me a loaner and that’s when they said, “Were just going to get you a new range.” Ive been using it and I love it. The front right burner is boils water fast. My least favorite feature though is it doesn’t go real low even on simmer. It still boils. The low setting is not like I put it on and let it go without worrying that its going to burn, which is weird. When the oven stops working that day, Im like. Its coming up to Thanksgiving. What if it stops working? But a girl called me and she must have set up a tech because I got a call from someone and theyre coming.

Our new dishwasher has now been repaired twice, and is once again malfunctioning. We had the repairman out over a month ago and still no new circuit boards have arrived. I would love a refund and would trash this dishwasher. We have had zero issues with our range and microwave, but very upset with the price point and quality of the dishwasher. BUYER BEWARE.

I purchased this induction range ~4 years ago and have already had to make several very expensive repairs. I purchased Viking because I thought I would be getting a high-quality appliance and didnt expect to have to make ~$1000 in repairs in such a new appliance. The oven takes over 40 minutes to heat up to 350 degrees and does not heat/cook reliably. Very disappointing!

I read all the reviews I could and while most were positive, there were a few negative. The negatives gave me a little concern but I had to believe that a quality brand like Viking wouldn’t make a bad product so I went ahead and bought one. It is a great product! I’m so happy with it! It’s not noisy like some reviewers said. It dries just fine unlike some reviewers said. I have to deduct that some people either had defective units or they are chronic complainers. My unit works great and I am very happy with it!

We have two Viking Refrigerators. We’ve had a lot of problems with them including leaking and a broken heater, and so weve had a lot of repairs. It was difficult to find someone who would service a Viking Refrigerator. But when we finally did, it was fairly smooth, although we needed someone to come back out because the fridge wasn’t fully fixed. Other than that, the refrigerators look nice and the layout is great. Also when they’re working, they work very well.

I moved in November and I wanted a gas stove. So I found a plumber to put the gas line in and I was either going to buy a Viking or a Wolf. But I read reviews and decided on Viking. I purchased the range from a small store and everyone there was extremely friendly, extremely knowledgeable and very happy to show me all of the wonderful features. They were fantastic and made sure I was happy. I also love the range. Its the best stove. The burners go all the way down to a tiny steamer and thats one of my favorite features. I love the telescopic shelves in the oven, too. I have some back issues and with the way they pull out, its easier for me to get things in and out.

The Viking stovetop is a safe stove and the quality is good. I use it almost every day. However, after I’m done using it, the fans inside it turns on twice to get rid of the hot air. And then it makes noise for an hour or sometimes even longer. I just use the oven to bake a tiny bit of stuff but now I don’t want to use it often because I don’t like to hear that noise. The stove itself is good but that oven is a problem and it’s annoying. When it’s working, it’s okay. I stop it and it starts to have something wrong. I won’t recommend it.

My husband wanted to go with Viking. When we were at a store, they were trying to persuade us not to. They kept telling us that the Viking refrigerator tend to fail quite often and a lot of their customers actually had problems with it once it goes out of warranty, and so they have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. So, we were persuaded not to get it but my husband was determined to get it because we bought extended warranty. We like our refrigerator. We dont have any problems with it overall. We have the one side freezer, and one side fridge. We like it. Its big. I like the icemaker. Its convenient because its so wide. I wish theres more space, but overall, it functions fine. So far, were satisfied.

If anyone has any knowledge of how to start a class action suit, you can count me in. I have had this range for 5 years and it has been nothing but trouble. The broiler igniters initially didnt work and repairmen tried to fix it two times. It worked intermittently and when I called Viking about it again, they said the warranty had expired (even though it was a problem during the warranty period) and they would do nothing about it. Now, the burner for baking is malfunctioning causing explosions that burst open the door because it only partially ignites the gas. I cant believe what a piece of junk this is. Our repairman advised us that it would be a waste of time to replace the bake burner and door hinges (which dont hold the door tight to the frame because the springs cant support the weight of the door) because something else is going to go wrong. He said to buy a new oven.

We have had a Viking range for almost our entire married life. We lost our range in the tornado the day after Christmas, and we did not rebuild. We bought another house. The range that we had in here was an LG and it was a piece of crap. I had to turn off the air conditioning because the gas burner would blow the flame to the right and it wouldnt heat anything. The broiler never got hot enough. I could put my hand under it. It did not do anything it was supposed to do. So, we went back to a Viking. Our other Viking was a double oven, griddle, grill, four-burner and it was wonderful. Our kitchen is not that big this time, so we just got a four-burner gas range and the single oven. The broiler works and the burners have power. I like the center thing where I can put an oval pot in the center. The fellows who delivered it were above and beyond. They spent a lot of time here, carted away our other range and got this one situated. At first, we thought it was gonna stick out from the wall too much and wed have to relocate the gas line a bit, but once they put it in place, it was fine.

We were remodeling our home and wanted to get some built-in appliances. We compared Viking to Thermador and some of the other top brands and decided to go with Viking because of their great promotion. The refrigerator looks deceivingly small. So, when you open it, you feel like, Im not going to fit as much stuff in there. But you do fit a lot in there. So, Im pretty pleased with it. The freezer portion makes a couple of noises. It sort of snaps and crackles and makes some little noises there that probably could be improved. But otherwise no, its great. We actually are on our second refrigerator. The first one that arrived was defective. We got a hold of Viking through the company that sold it to us. Viking was great. They sent out a new refrigerator. They came picked up the old one, and there was no problem. It took a little while, but there were some other complications probably that were at play at that time. Other than the delay, it was a smooth process.

When selecting our refrigerator, we went on Vikings reputation. Also, my husbands in interior design and that was also part of the reason why we chose Viking as opposed to a GE product, which we have at another house. However, we are a little disappointed with Viking. We’ve had the refrigerator for less than a year and all this stuff started happening right around a month’s time. We were having problems with the ice maker and when I called Viking repair service, they put in a service call. Somebody came out but didn’t really do anything other than change the ice maker. He said that it should be working within 24 hours but it still is not. They came for a second service call after that. The contractors follow-up was not up to what I think Viking would expect from their name though. Ive had to follow up twice with the service repair people to find out what was going on with my refrigerator. They have been telling me that they needed to order another ice maker and a different part but based on the recent weather in the Southeast, it was being delayed. There are also other things that I have to have the repair person look at. We have a bottom refrigerator and the door clicks every time we hold the door open. Other than that, I had received a part that is supposed to be on one of the doors so that you can have butter or whatever else you want to use in a climate-controlled environment. But it doesn’t fit in there and nobody that I’ve called at Viking has been able to give me an answer on how to have it fit. But other than that, we like the refrigerator, me probably more so than my husband.

We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that I’ve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I would’ve been better off going to Home Depot. We’re on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and it’s not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasn’t cold… while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said it’s already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, “I’m sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.” The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And that’s when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them I’m not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they weren’t making the old model anymore. And it’s been working ever since.

I’ve seen Viking Ranges around, and Ive seen them evolve into a more sophisticated product than they were originally. They are robust, close to commercial in quality and performance, but have the benefit of being thoughtful of a residential home. They have convection, high heat, and different things one might want, like a broiler and a griddle, and you may or may not want it. And they have stood the test of time. I had a Garland for 25 years. It was commercial and rugged, but it didnt keep up.The reps were not knowledgeable at the store that I bought it at. But they were not unfriendly. I came prepared, having done my homework. And I felt a little rushed. But too bad for me, you have to have tough feelings. I had an insurance plan and something went wrong. And the insurance wasnt the easiest thing to work out. It was hard to get them and to get help. That was a little slippery. The irony of it all is my electrician rewired the kitchen and they had switched the neutral. The stove knew it, and was misbehaving, and we thought it was the stove. The people in Brooklyn who fixed it, top shelf. They could have told me anything. They diagnosed the truth. “You got the wrong polarity, fix it”. We fixed it, but the stove was never broken. That is more important to me than the sales people by a mile. Viking has excellent factory trained technicians. Love that. The reason I bought the Viking was it has a smart sensor. If the flame went out, it knew, and it lighted it. I was stunned at that. It may have been around a long time, but I didnt know about it. So it has everything I’ve seen in lots of places, but it has a smart technology that is lifesaving. It’s fantastic. The caveat is weve had it a few years. The quality is good, and the performance is excellent. We rattle the doors, turn the knobs and spill things just like anybody else. And so far, its just humming along. I would recommend that stove in a heartbeat. And this is a person who had a Garland for a long time.

Although Ive contacted Viking to express my frustration, the best I get from their service department---- is well nothing! Since my warranty has expired they no longer care that the product is defective. I wanted to send the service records to show that we have had problems day one but they refused. We owned all Viking appliances in our previous home. We had about 14 years of experience with the range, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, and wine fridge. Weve just started remodeling our kitchen here in Texas and purchased a Viking package here as well because of their reputation and the quality and the look of the appliances. We were comfortable moving forward with Viking again though what we got were kind of different products than what we purchased before in some ways. The range we had was a double oven and was kind of super high end range. This time, we have a stand alone LPG all-steel cook top and then a wall oven. I like some of the improvements theyve made to the product line. The cook top is much easier to clean than the more commercial style we previously had.We went for a French door refrigerator this time which got the freezer above and has two French doors. The whole refrigerator unit is really good and convenient. It fit in to the opening we have perfectly at the right depth. Everything about it is also pretty first rate. We are happy with the refrigerator and with everything but one thing I have is on the packaging of the product particularly on the refrigerator. When the installers came to install it, they spent forever trying to take the protective material Viking uses over the stainless steel off. They never got all of it off and I can still see some of the adhesive that was used to hold it on there even though Ive used stainless steel cleaners that were recommended. We did the purchase from Pacific Sales which is a brick-and-mortar store in Austin and is apparently a subsidiary of Best Buy. However, the experience was not good with Pacific Sales and horrible with Best Buy. The whole delivery process was a nightmare. We love the products and we had no issues with the installers that Best Buy used, but the length of time the scheduling took and the constant lack of information and the change of information were not good at all. I would probably never buy from Pacific Sales again. When we first started looking, we went online and found vendors that would ship the appliances to our home for free and no sales tax because they had no brick-and-mortar presence in Texas. But I thought of paying the extra sales tax which was substantial just to have that local touch and that good quality customer service which couldnt have been farther from whats the reality. The Viking Range Corporation needs to know that when a customer decides to buy a Viking products from Pacific Sales, which is Best Buy, theyre likely in for a tough go of it. The sales person who we dealt with never called and kind of washed his hands off once we get handed off to this contact person with Best Buy when things started getting kind of going sideways. But now that we have the appliances and theyre all in place, everything seems to be working great. I placed a call with Viking today as I was having some issues with the new wall oven and I got connected to a very knowledgeable person in tech support. He walked me through what he thought were the probable issues. It was more of a problem with me understanding the directions though I read the owners manual pretty closely, but after talking to him, he provided a lot more information about how to use the oven properly than what I got out of reading the owners manual. Also, we had some repairs that needed to be done and Viking always seems to have good customer service. Viking corporate had to handle recall issues and they were good about notifying us for that. However, Ive tried to register these appliances online and Ive only got about half of them done. For some reason, it comes back and says they dont recognize the model number or the model number and the serial number dont match so they cant do it. I have yet to call so thats been a little bit of a pain but no big deal.

We were pleased with the Viking oven and microwave in our other house so we wanted a stove with a black face on it when we build our new house. We’ve only been using it for about a month and a half but we have no issues, we are delighted and it worked out well. Being able to cook with gas is nice. You can control the heat and with the grill on the top with six burners, you can cook a lot. One burner also has a higher BTU on it which is nice. We bought it from Ferguson in the town we lived in. The Viking dealer has a good reputation and known for its bath and kitchen showroom. We didnt hesitate to go to them when we wanted to pick out the appliances. It was a good experience, delivery was on time and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. Registering on the website was easy. We looked at the serial and model number which I got off the stove and the instruction booklet.

Six years ago we bought a $10,000 Viking professional range. While it may look beautiful, it has never worked properly. The large oven door will not shut tightly. We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Nevertheless, my initial impression of the cooktop is that its fabulous and it has really high output burners. I love the way the range looks too. Still, Viking Ranges are extremely expensive so the quality better match. This range was $9,000 and it doesnt even have a timing feature on it.The contact at Best Buy that helped us with the purchase was very good and very attentive. But the installation was a miserable experience. The people who came who had to be certified Viking installers didnt appear to have any special skills nor abilities. They were private contractors, not Best Buy employees. Now, I have to call in Best Buy to send someone to check the installation. I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

The motherboard of our last Viking fridge died the first two weeks we owned it. The fridge was a lemon from the get-go and we spoke with Viking and they said, “No, it doesn’t need replacing. We’ll replace the motherboard.” Unfortunately, it was a lemon of a fridge. We’ve had at least seven issues with it and the week before Christmas, it just gave up and that was weeks after having it repaired. I went with Viking again this time because the built-in fridge had to be the same size to fit in the box, the old Viking location. Their rep was unbelievable. Since it was before Christmas, they gave us a loaner at no charge and he did his utmost to find us a replacement fridge so that we wouldn’t have to reconstruct the box. He found one in the States but it cant cross the border because it had the Viking nameplate on it. In Canada, it’s called Brigade so we ended up having to pay $2500 more. The rep did everything. He called and said, “They will not allow the one to go over the border and now this one in Canada is going to cost $2500 more.” I said, Okay this is now a scam. He said, “Absolutely not. You can cancel your order. You can keep the loaner fridge however long it takes to find a fridge.” He was very good. So far, the new Viking fridge has been in for two and a half weeks and it has been fine. It is super bright compared to the old one and I like the feature where you can put a pizza box or platter of food. We purchased one in December and it was installed in January.

I had a Viking for 24 years and it worked for a long time. I never had any problems with them so that was good. I remodeled the kitchen and I now have a range so it’s getting used to having one oven below instead of two small ovens off to the side. I ordered it online and it worked out fine.
