Product Reviews:

I had a 95% AFUE GMH95 gas furnace installed in June of 2009. Furnace carries a 10 year parts warranty. In 2015 the inducer pump melted and caught fire. I had the Installation company come out to see this. Was told there was too much damage to replace parts and cables burned. Would need to be replaced. I filed a claim with customer assurance and continually hounded them for the status of this claim. A month later with temperatures now below freezing a representative from distributor and the installer came out to see damage which I already had sent picture to Goodman. Was told I would be notified next Monday. Another week goes by. No word. E-mailed customer assurance rep. for my case and received out of office reply with a phone number to call for assistance. I basically got the run around. A week later I tried again and also left voicemail. I finally called Goodman consumer affairs and spoke with a live person. After explaining the situation and the fact that my representative is not responding for over a month now I was then transferred to the same customer assurance rep. and listened to the same OGM telling me to call consumer affairs. Yes, a complete circle. It seems they just want to avoid this issue. So I called again and got a different live person who said "Hold on I need to check something" and was immediately disconnected. Now I feel I should let others know about the worst customer service experience that I have ever been through. So much for the 10 year warranty.

Had a Goodman heat pump installed. It did not lower our bills like we expected and were told. It leaked freon every year, but Goodman would not honor the warranty because the installer had evidently not turned in a registration form. The unit was a lemon and we were told it would cost more to start replacing components than to get a new one.

I purchased from CARRIER a 3 ton, 2 speed heat pump and Infinity 2 stage, variable speed gas furnace in May 2005. In 2012 I had to replace the capacitor and compressor. The compressor was under warranty, but still cost me $568. In September 2016 I had to replace the evaporator coil to the tune of $975. Now I am told that the compressor needs to be replaced. The compressor is less than 5 years old! I called Carrier to voice my concerns and was transferred to the next level of customer service. Stephanie #** was rude. DO NOT BUY CARRIER PRODUCTS!

When we bought our house, we thought getting a new AC would be a good idea. The old one hadn't been properly maintained and summer was approaching. We had a new outside unit installed, plus new furnace (gas), and air handler. Everything worked great for the first two summers. The 16 SEER unit did a good job keeping up with the blazing Georgia heat, and our electrical bill wasn't too bad. 20 months after it was installed, the motor failed on the outside unit. The compressor was running, but the fan wouldn't turn.I just had the guy out from the company that installed it, and he verified it's the motor. So, I now have to wait for a new motor to ship and then be replaced. In all, this is going to cost me $350 in shipping and labor (yes, I'm paying shipping, too). It was good while it lasted, but, talk about buyer's remorse. This will definitely be my last Goodman product. That includes anything from Daikin (Amana, for example). You lost my business.

This unit replaced our old gravity heat furnace. What a difference! We never had AC before and it's awesome. Minnesota summers don't last long but get really muggy. The winters are also more comfortable with a good heating system instead of heat "floating" to the ceiling from the registers.

I bought this furnace about a year ago, and it has lowered the temperature swings and reduced my heating bills by almost half. This is all thanks to the double stage heating and a high energy efficiency of 95%.The installation was hard for me, and I was forced to hire a technician to do all the setup work and everything turned out well after that. I have not had any issues with my furnace, and I love how well it works.

Carrier Bryant Furnace - I had a new Carrier Bryant furnace installed in September 2014. Hardly used it for two months and then in November 2014 the thing does not work, and the plumber says he can't repair it. Now I have to try and my $3000 back somehow. Do not use Carrier products.

I bought a Rheem furnace 2 stage variable speed and A/C unit. It was installed in summer. In winter, I noticed that furnace kicks in directly in the second stage and never works in the first stage. It is too noisy and heat variations are high. I tried for 3 months to determine the contractor to come and fix the issue. It was not an emergency, but the unit was under warranty and did not do what was supposed to do. After 3 months, the contractor comes and tries to call the dealer in order to get support from them as the contractor did not know what to do (despite the fact it seems a very simple setting). I took 2 days off, and every day the contractor cannot reach the dealer's technician despite the fact that this was scheduled in advance. I was frustrated and tried to send a complaint directly to Rheem. I filled in their contact form (there is no way to contact them via phone) and wrote a long note venting my frustration and bad experience with the whole chain. And at the end, when I tried to submit, it didn't go through. I tried 6 times and every time, it failed without telling me what the error is. So in the end, there is no one to contact at Rheem to explain the situation, and how the dealer and the contractor and possibly the quality of their product affect their reputation. In the end, I am a very unhappy Rheem customer, and I would never ever recommend someone to buy a Rheem product due to the overall experience I had with all 3 entities involved (producer/dealer and contractor).

In the past year, had three heat pumps installed. In the process was emailing Trane (American Standard) to see about an extended labor warranty. No response at all! Go to their website, try to call, it keeps reverting to emails communication only. One of the units just installed 2 weeks ago sounds like it is coming apart. Had to google their phone #. Talked to customer service. They do not cover labor even within 30 days. So with that being said I will not be purchasing Trane (American Standard) units again. I think that their response to the matter is poor.

My Ruud furnace had its blower board replaced two years ago and shorted out again on a furnace that is only 14 years old (ave life approximates 20 years). Additionally, the inducer motor has failed too, making it difficult to justify the repair expense versus shelling out for a totally new furnace. I reached out to Ruud customer service and they basically said "oh well, too bad". They had no sympathy, offered up no solutions, and had no interest in persuading me to buy a new Ruud or Rheem furnace. They did not care at all whether I was a customer or not. Absolutely unforgivable way to treat people that spend thousands on their machines. Will never buy Ruud/Rheem again.
